Bode Donovan/Leone x OFC Arizona Telford

Summary: After Bode left Edgewater, he thought that was his rock bottom. He moved away, started going by a different name and started working construction. One day he ended up getting hurt and landed himself in the emergency room where he met Doctor Arizona Telford. It was a whirlwind romance and they were married after being together for eight months. Then Bode relapsed. He ended up disappearing, robbing a store, and going to prison. Arizona was surprised to see her husband in the newspaper for robbing a liquor store. She tried to see her husband in prison but Bode never put her on his visitor list. Arizona learns that her husband is at the CalFire con camp in Edgewater and decides to go see him. Will Arizona have it in her to fight against naysayers, Bode’s family, a new love interest for her husband, and against Bode himself to prove that she’s in this thing forever?

Arizona huffed out a nervous breath as she walked towards the inmates scattered around the Three Rock CalFire con camp where her husband was housed. It had been three and a half years since she’d seen her husband, Bode Donovan. Arizona remembered the day she saw his picture in the newspaper for robbing that liquor store. She went to every court date and tried to support Bode the best she could with him doing everything in his power to push her away. It broke her heart when he refused to let her visit him in jail and then in prison. She’d thought about divorce. Her sister, Lilith, and her brother, Dean, suggested it any time Bode’s name came up in a conversation. But Arizona needed to talk to him first. She needed him to know that she still loved him just as much now as she did on their wedding day.

“Can I help you?” A voice pulled Arizona back to the present.

“I’m looking for Bode Donovan.” She smiled at the man with blue eyes and a fu manchu.

“You’re not on his visitors list.” The man responded. Arizona gave him a questioning look. “I’m Captain Manny Perez. I know every one of my guy’s visitors. You’ve never been here before and there’s not a name on Bode’s list that I don’t know personally.”

“Captain Perez,” Arizona started, wringing her hands together, “I really need to speak to Bode. I haven’t seen him in three years. It’s important.”

“Who’s my dad talking to?” Gabriella asked Bode.

“Whoever she is, she’s beautiful.” Sharon said.

Bode’s breath left his body and all the blood drained from his face when he saw who Manny was talking to.

“Bode, are you okay?” Vince asked him.

“Y-yeah,” Bode nodded numbly. “Give me a minute.” He didn’t give anybody a chance to respond as he walked towards Manny and his wife.

“Arizona?” Bode asked, not quite sure he believed what he was seeing.

“Bode,” Arizona gave him a small smile.

“What are you doing here?” He asked, the words coming out harsher than he intended.

“I should be asking you that question,” she shot back. “It’s good to see you’re not dead.”

Bode closed his eyes and took a calming breath. He never imagined seeing his wife at Three Rock. In fact, he never imagined seeing her again. His eyes traveled to where she was twisting her wedding band she still wore.

Arizona’s hands were Bode’s favorite part of her body. Sure, his wife was gorgeous with a great body but her hands were his safe place. He was honest with Arizona from the beginning about his past. He told her about the accident that caused Riley’s death and how Vince blamed him. He explained that his dad told him to leave Edgewater and never return. Any time they talked about the hard stuff, Arizona’s hands were there to calm him. She’d stroke his arm, play with his hair or his beard, rub his back, twist their fingers together. Those soft caresses calmed the noise in his head and started healing the hole in his heart.

When Bode relapsed, he was ashamed of himself. He knew he didn’t deserve a woman like Arizona. He didn’t deserve love. So, he did what Bode Leone did best: he left. He robbed a liquor store and found himself doing three to five years in prison. On those long nights in prison, he’d think about her hands. How they made him feel alive, wanted, cherished, loved. He thought about writing to Arizona so many times but he just couldn’t think of what to say. How do you apologize to the love of your life for letting them down so badly?

“Bode, who is this?” Manny asked.

“This is Arizona.” Bode said, his eyes never leaving her fingers.

“I can’t authorize a visit. She’s not on your list.” Manny sighed.

“Manny…” Bode trailed off, not sure what to say. “She’s…she’s…”

“She’s his wife.” Arizona finished for him. “I know it’s been a long time, Bode. But I’m still your wife.”

“I’ll give you two a minute.” Manny clapped a hand on Bode’s shoulder before walking off.

“How did you find me?” Bode asked her.

Tears pooled in Arizona’s eyes. “After all this time and that’s what you want to know?”

“I never wanted you to see me like this, AZ.” Bode could never imagine how much it hurt to see his wife like this.

“You never wanted me to see you, period.” Arizona sniffled. “You shut me out completely. I would have been there, Bode. I would have been with you through it all.”

“I don’t deserve that.” Bode answered simply.

“And I don’t deserve to have my husband abandon me without so much as a letter telling me it’s over.” Arizona glared at him.

“I…” Bode looked up at the gray, California sky, trying to find the words to convey what he wanted to say. “I never wanted to hurt you, Arizona. I fucked up. I ended up in prison. I waited for divorce papers from you every day for months.”

“Well, if you would have let me see you, I would have told you that I wasn’t going anywhere.” Arizona crossed her arms over her chest.

“It’s been too long.” Bode said. “We can’t go back to what we had before.”

“I didn’t come here to have some big reunion, Bo.” She tucked her hair behind her ears. “I came because…” She swallowed thickly. Arizona shifted from foot to foot not wanting to say what she had to say. She knew it would devastate him.

“Because why?” Bode said quietly. “What happened, Arizona?”

Arizona’s eyes met Bode’s. “Jesse…”

“What about him?” Bode asked, fear running through his body. Jesse Tulane was Arizona’s best friend. He was also a cop in the small town where Bode and Arizona had lived before Bode fucked it all up. Bode and Jesse became really close through their mutual relationships with Arizona. Jesse had been the closest thing to a brother Bode had had since he left Edgewater.

“We lost him, Bode.” Arizona whispered, tears streaming down her face.

“What do you mean we lost him?” Bode demanded. “Isn’t there people out looking for him? He’s a smart guy, Arizona. He’ll find his way home. He’s been lost before! He’s taken me out hiking plenty of times. He knows how to get out.”

“Bode!” Arizona said in a commanding voice to stop his words, her hands resting on his biceps. “He’s dead.”

“No,” Bode’s brain refused to accept her words. There was no way Jesse was dead. He’d kept in contact with Jesse throughout his incarceration. “I just talked to him! You’re wrong, Arizona!”

Arizona broke down sobbing. “I want to be, Bode. I really want to be. He’s gone. He’s gone and I just…I want him back.”

Bode hugged her against him tightly. Tears streamed down his face as she sobbed in his arms. After a few minutes, he led her to a picnic table near where he’d been visiting with Gabriella, Sharon, and Vince. He sat across from her and took her hand in his. “What happened?”

“He was serving a warrant on that sketchy house on the corner of 4th Street. Somebody pulled a gun. Jesse got shot in the neck.” Arizona explained. “We did everything we could but there was too much damage. I pronounced him dead at 3:43 this morning.”

“You pronounced him?” Bode asked, wiping the tears from his face.

Arizona gave him a small smile. “I knew the team wasn’t going to stop with me in the room. They know how close Jesse and I are. They know how much he means to me. I also knew that there was no getting him back.”

“I’m so sorry, Arizona.” Bode whispered.

“Me too,” Arizona squeezed his hand. “He told me just yesterday that he was looking forward to you getting out so he could take you fishing in a new spot he found.”

Bode gave her a lopsided smile. “I’m surprised he even still wanted to talk to me.”

“He said there was no way he was giving up on the only guy who could outfish him.” Arizona chuckled lightly.

“What now?” Bode asked.

Arizona shrugged her shoulders. “I haven’t really thought about it. I took a shower after I got home and came straight here to tell you.”

“How did you know where to find me?”

“Dean called in a favor.” Arizona answered.

“I’m surprised he was willing to do that.” Bode shook his head.

“You know Dean. Anything for his youngest sister.”

Bode nodded. “This doesn’t seem real. I feel like I’m about to wake up back in prison.”

“It’s a lot to take in.”

“How long are you staying in town for?” Bode asked.

“I got a room at the hotel in town. I’m going to get some sleep then I have to head back. There’s a lot to do. I have to pack up Jesse’s things, find a new place to live. I can’t stay in that place. There’s just too many memories. You, me, and Jesse had some great times in that place.”

“We did,” Bode smiled. “He always said he was going to marry the manager of the bar that our apartment was above.”

“He never even got her number.” Arizona laughed.

“Of course,” Bode chuckled. “He talked a big game.”

“Yeah he did.” Arizona nodded.

It was quiet between the pair for a long beat. “I don’t want to leave you.” Arizona whispered.

“I don’t want you to leave.” Bode admitted.

“How about you finally put me on your visitor list?” Arizona suggested. “That way I can come back.”

“I’d like that.” Bode said.

Arizona cupped his face in her hand. “It’s good to see you, Bode. I’ve missed you.”

“I missed you too.” He admitted.

Arizona dropped her hand from his face, gave him a small wave, and walked back towards her car.

“Who was that?” Vince asked once Bode had rejoined them.

“An old friend.” Bode answered.

Yor and Melinda have something that the other would want. Melinda has better culinary skills while Yor has a happy relationship with her husband and child. So next time Melinda should give her cooking lessons like Camilla did, and Yor can violently murder Donovan. And everyone wins!

We got tricked.😅

So, the focus in chapter 91 is Millie, and now we know her full name, Millie Myers... We also get to see Melinda who unexpectedly came to the veteran event.

Yeah, usually we see Millie as someone who just talked about her boyfriend, protesting about Yor boarding the cruise ship in the cruise arc... She usually didn't share about her family, but now, here she is, talking about her deceased father and blaming Donovan about the war.

Speaking of Donovan Desmond, now it's revealed that the former prime minister who started the war at the beginning wasn't him, but it was the prime minister before him. Even so, the war happened mostly when he was the prime minister, so like what Melinda said in the chapter, it was logical for Millie to blame Donovan like that.

Overall, this chapter is okay, but there's something that bugs me here, especially from the fact that all of Yor's coworkers are totally not aware that it's possible for Yor to know about Melinda. Well, I can accept if it's just about Millie, Camilla, or even Dominic, but... Sharon?

Or maybe her son doesn't care at all about Eden students who aren't his classmates, so Sharon herself isn't aware that Anya and Damian are classmates, hmm...

However, now I wonder if we'll have anyone's backstory or not in the next chapter... Things are getting mysterious for me now...

Modern AU

Summary: From the first moment you laid eyes on Negan you were inexplicabley drawn to him. The passion between you is hot and only grows more intense the longer you see each other. There is only one problem, you're both married to other people.

Warnings: Dark Fic , Stalking, Stalker behavior, Smuttyness, Adult Language, I'll add more warnings as I post, so please check the warnings for updates on each chapter.

You parked your suv outside of your mother's house and turned to Hunter and Millie.

"Everybody remember the rules?"

"Don't touch anything." Hunter replied. "And don't go to other rooms."

"No playing rough and no running around." You reminded him.

He nodded.

Once you got Millie out of the car seat, you walked up the lawn to the front door and rang the doorbell.

You stood there for a few minutes and when no one came, you pressed the button again. Another few minutes passed and finally you heard the door being opened.

"Hello Sweetheart." Your mom greeted you, pulling you toward her to hug you.

"I see you brought Camilla with you."

"Of course, I did. Why wouldn't I?"

"I thought your mother in law babysat for you?"

You fought the urge to roll your eyes.

"Ma doesn't watch Millie all the time only if I really really can't find anyone else to watch her."

"Oh? Why is that?"

"She's in her late seventies. She can't be chasing after a little kid."

"Neither can I and yet I babysit for you regularly."

"First of all, you're only in your sixties. Secondly you won't have to chase her. I'm here. She will be fine, Mom."

She gestured for you to go passed her into the house and you did. The large foyer was redecorated in a classic italian style, earth tones, marble, and metal work. You waited for your son to catch up to you before you headed into the formal living room.

"Would you like something to drink? Iced tea, Lemonade?" She offered.

You declined, but Hunter asked for lemonade.

"I don't know if I have any plastic cups. Let me see." She left the room.

You could see Wyatt in the dining room doing homework. You went up to him and touched his shoulder.

"Hey Pumpkin, You okay?"

He nodded.

"We're gonna leave soon, so start getting your things together."

"Kay." He replied.

Your phone rang. Adjusting Millie on your hip, you picked it up.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Doll."

You sighed and hurried back to the living room.

"What do you want? I'm busy."

"Hey now, I just wanted to check in. You didn't pick the kid up from practice today."

"You're right. I didn't and I won't be."

"Why the hell not?"

"Because you can't seem to get it through your fucking head that I don't want anything more to do with you!" You snapped.

He laughed.

"It's not funny. I mean it. Stay the fuck away from me." You stated.

"Oh it is funny. It's funny how you keep forgetting that I have the power to ruin your life."

Your finger slid toward the end call button.

"If you insist on not co operating, I'm going to explode your whole fucking world."

You gasped sharply.

"I want to know if the girl is mine. You are going to fucking meet me at the San Jose Clinic on Donovan road at eleven tomorrow or I'm going to show up at your house and ruin your six o'clock dinner time."

You squeezed the phone tightly in your fist.

"Are you done?"

"Don't take this lightly. I am a man of my word."

"I heard you. Can I hang up now?"

"Just one more thing," He added, "You look foxy today. Those leggings hug your body just right and that top...Mmm mmm mm..."

Your cheeks warmed.

"I see you. Even when you think nobody's looking."

You clenched your jaw. Your mom came back into the room and you relaxed your facial expression.

"Thank you for reminding me of my appointment. I'll be there. Good Bye." You forced yourself to say and hung up.

"Who was that, Sweetheart?" Your mom asked.

You put a small smile on your face.

"Just the doctor's office." You lied.

"How civil of you to talk to them. I just hang up.I know when my appointment is. I'm not senile."

You nodded in aknowledgement.

He sat in his truck watching the large two story house. It didn't matter what you said. You were his. It was simply the truth. There was no going back to your old life. He couldn't believe you hadn't realized that yet.Before long, you were coming down the lawn, your ducklings trailing behind you. He watched you all get into the suv. He waited for you to drive off down the road for a second before he followed behind you. Just far enough behind to avoid suspicion.

That title is a little misleading! It's not a full AU because honestly, it's just not that interesting but I did do a breakdown of which Fantasy High (and The Seven) characters would be which characters. Fig's parental situation is just as messy as Gideon's I cannot lie. Sandra Lynn Faeth would do that shit. Gorthalax is a devil and he's very lawful about it, and Pyhrra's a cop! So she's Sklonda. Kalvaxus being her bio dad isn't a perfect match, but his posse works much better for the First House than anything with the Nightmare King. As for Fig and Gideon... the Vibes speak for themselves.

(Note that this breakdown is from February, so it predates JY. And even with JY's new characters, all this would stay the same.)

Riz would stay up for 96 hours and put his bone marrow in a soup so he could try to kill someone. This is just a fact. Tragically, this makes Gideon/Harrow Straight, but you know what, the whole point of TLT is fucking with the boundaries of love so whatever. Putting Riz here also means he gets to be haunted by Kalina! Which works great. Pok as Anastasia the First follows natural from these roles. Riz's bio parents don't matter, they're not interesting.

The rest of the Ninth House follows from the placements of Fig and Riz as Harrow and Gideon, for the second house: Antiope is a military brat, and I like imaging a world where Yelle could set boundries (but their dynamic is solid and of course Antiope was going to be Judith so. Get another Seven girlie in there)

And of course our terrible twins here are Aelwyn and Adaine. Of course. I don't think I need to explain this one more, if you Know, you Know. Percival gets to be Babs cause no one gives a shit about Babs

Fourth House gets the dwarven clerics because I was trying to give the different houses different DnD races. Not much to say there, Torek is one of the few characters in FH younger than our protagonists so she gets to be one of the Babies.

I actually really like the Fifth House, with Sandra Lynn off being Commander Wake, that frees up Jawbone to have other relationships, and he definitely has that 'cool uncle' vibe that Magnus just exudes, terrible puns and all. And Garthy's an accomplished sorcerer! Also very kind, them being an Aasimar fits pretty damn well with doing soul magic.

Gorgug gets to be the smart one. The Sixth House was soooo tricky, but letting the orcs rep the house of librarians was fun to me. Gorgug is an incredible artificer, and Ragh is just so supportive. Suprisingly, it works!

Seventh House follows from Gorgug playing Palamedes' role, so we get Zelda as Dulcinea and Katja was a solid fit for Pro with Zelda in that spot

Eighth House is religious nuts, so: Daybreak and Kristen. Not much else to say there.

For the First House we've got Kalvaxus as Jod. Is he a villain? uhhhhh everyone else in the First House works well if they're in his posse! Penelope as Mercymorn works well, with Sam as Cristabel because their dynamic... yeah. Dayne as Augustine as well. Gorthalax never worked for Kalvaxus directly, but his warlock did so I'm counting it, and we've already talked about Fig and Gideon. Zayn is involved with Kalvaxus but he doesn't really want to be and kinda ends up on his own hence: Cyrethea, and we've already talked about Pok and Sklonda as Anastasia and Pyhrra.

And then the Blood of Eden! We've already talked about Sandra Lynn as Wake, but everyone else for the Blood of Eden is a Seacaster. They would be part of a paramilitary. Pash as Fabian is specifically because Nepo Babies.

And Alecto as Kalina! Is my Kalina bias playing a part in this? Yeah. What are you going to do about it? She haunts Riz, she worked with Kalvaxus but it did not work out, her home/self was Destroyed in a cataclysm caused by hubris and colonialism... what doesn't fit?

Yes, I did put way too much thought into this.

Summary

Anya Forger has been trying her best to befriend Damian Desmond, the son of the powerful Ostanian political leader Donovan Desmond, but her attempts have been constantly rebuffed. Despite the setbacks, Anya is determined to gain access to the Desmonds’ inner circle and even devises a new plan—acing her midterm exams to earn stella stars! Can the academically challenged Anya pull off this feat for the sake of world peace?

Yor is trying to learn to cook from Camilla and it isn’t going well, until Camilla gets the idea to make something Yor’s parents might have made, and is able to help Yor cook her mom’s stew... and it actually tastes good!

Anya continues to try and make Plan B work, this time by trying to help Damian with an art project, but Anya being Anya - she just causes more trouble. Damian calls home and talk to Jeeves, the butler, and we learn more about how distant his relationship with his father is and why he is so motivated to do well.

Anya is struggling in school, her test scores are terrible. We learn that Anya has a weakness, her powers do not work when the moon is new (barely there). Yuri comes over to tutor Anya, and after a few antics he gets frustrated by Anya’s lack of progress. Anya does try, the mid-term exams are coming up and a failing grade equals a tonitrus bolt.

The spy Daylight makes his first appearence to mess with the Desmond test scores, Twilght also there to check on Anya’s results has to deal with his crazy antics and fix all of his mistakes.

Damian does well enough on an exam to earn his first Stella. Anya manages to (barely) not fail any of her tests, a huge win in her book! (213 / 228) Is below 30 a failing grade? When I was in school, below 70 was a failing grade, so a 30 looks like failure to me, what are their standards? I mean shouldn’t it at least be over 50, at least your got half of the material! I don’t understand the grading rules here. lol

Glooman Pharmaceuticals is in financial trouble, and young George, a classmate of Anya and Damian, blames the Desmond group and wants to hurt Damian to get even. When the other kids learn about George’s misfortune, they try and help his last day be a good one. Ends up he got it all wrong.

Anya’s is given a project to learn about one of her parent’s jobs and write a report on it. Anya considers Yor, but Yor’s thoughts leave Anya to ask Loid instead, so she spends the day at Berlint General Hospital.

Fiona Frost (Nightfall) is introduced in this volume, she is a spy operative that works with Twilight, but was away on a mission so wasn’t available to play the role of ‘wife’ in the STRIX assignment. Fiona doesn’t like that Yor is part of the mission and wants to drive her away and take her place... but not for the good of the mission, but because she is in love with Twilight. Fiona’s appearence does indeed shake Yor’s confidence about their ‘fake’ relationship.

Well as for the beginning of the series I would hard argue that for most of that night he was still heavy into a charming persona role as a need for bringing yor a sense of comfort from a actual dangerous situation and he didn’t know wether or not yor would be distressed about a little threat to her life (lucky for him, she’s solos anyone she comes across) So I think he was genuinely impressed and relieved he didn’t need to protect her so hard but I’d say after things have calmed down he was able to relax to a more natural state (at ease, so to speak) but thanks to Anya constantly throwing him a curve ball he’s also coming from a genuine piece of himself that wouldn’t get much a chance to be let out. He respects strong women but yor has the edge of a kinda true love that gives twilight that familiar love he’s received from his mom.

So despite his words having some truths in his reassurances to yor he was still being an actor that night and over the course of the series we can see how he gradually starts loving his family (and probably more so than he’s aware of) and I think four the years as a spy he’s been closed off due to his trauma of losing everyone and with that kind of trauma he wouldn’t form genuine true connections that could be a potential weakness. He’s been mostly cordial with everyone from Wise and that goes for nightfall as well but he does care about them and their safety just that they’re just no comparison to Anya and yor getting past his differences. So all that is to say is that don’t worry about it so much, he might possibly realize that she feels for him deeper than he imagined but he wouldn’t try anything with that really.

Yes, you're right about all that. People usually say that the night after Camilla's party is when Twilight started falling for Yor for showcasing how well she can kick but I actually think that he started falling for her when they went to the park. Yor does have an advantage over Fiona since he and Yor have lived together, have gone through hurdles and obstacles together (Eden interview, co-parenting with Anya, and overcoming Yuri's suspicions), and comforted each other at the moment of each other's weaknesses. So I guess I am just overreacting about this one (albeit not minor) Fiona moment.

But I think there's also the issue that since Twilight has been emotionally compromised for having just fought Yuri, not just being injured by his grazed bullet but also for beating up Yor's only blood relative (he's probably worried about how is he suppose to face Yor after that), that might also affect how he sees being saved by Fiona. It might either exaggerate the situation in his eyes and make him unable to keep thinking straight that he might actually consider Fiona's proposal to restart Operation Strix with her as his wife even though it would make getting close to Donovan Desmond again a lot harder.

But that just might be underestimating the integrity of his character. Twilight could still probably see that even though Fiona saves him, at the end of the day, Yor is still a better mother to Anya and that Yor is really the person he's in love with because of who she is, not just because she saved him in the past.

Franky: WHAT?!

Anya: I don’t want this mama.

Loid: Not seeing you convincingly pull off the mother role.

Franky: You’re a master of disguise, so why can’t you make me beautiful, huh?

Loid: I have rather limited options.

Franky: NUAH! I can’t believe I volunteered for this!

Loid [narrating]: Operation Strix.

(Anya: Do you want a peanut?)

Loid [narrating]: I was given this top secret mission by WISE in order to stop political power player Donovan Desmond from fomenting a war with Ostania. Part of the task was to pass the prestigious Eden College’s entrance exam, which we did. But this interview with both parents of the prospective student has complicated matters.

Loid: Very well. I’ll need to find a woman.

Sharon: You ever considered wearing some longer skirts?

Millie: I don’t think my boyfriend would be happy about that. You’re pretty fit, Sharon; why don’t you show it off a little more?

Sharon: Being single at that age is kinda unusual. A bit eyebrow-raising.

Yor: I didn’t realize that. I appreciate you letting me know.

Camilla: Oh yeah, this coming weekend I’m throwing a little dinner party at my place, so why don’t you plan on dropping by? Bring a date and join in the fun!

Sharon [in the distance]: Might be asking a bit much there.

Camilla [in the distance]: I guess she could ask whoever’s been rifling through our drawers; they’d love to come.

Millie [in the distance]: You are just too mean!

The whole reason I got this far is because of your help, and I’m so grateful; that’s why a---all I want is for you to be happy.

Yor: Aw, that’s sweet. Thanks a lot, Yuri.

Yuri: Can I set you up with someone?

Yor: Huh?! Uh, that won’t be necessary. Because, um…I’m actually going to a party this weekend. And I’m bringing a date.

Yuri: Wait, you have a boyfriend?

Yor’s thoughts: What do I do? I’ve gotta land a date before the party this weekend. If he finds out I’m lying, he’ll think I’m a weirdo and a pathological liar and things’ll get even worse! And I would hate for my brother to skip a promotion on my account.

Yor: HUAEH! Hey, Yuri, I want you to know, I was just joking about all that earlier---

Man: Uh oh.

Yor: Ahauh!

Man: Are you and your little brother having a spat?

Yor: I---Shopkeeper? Sorry, I didn’t realize it was you.
