I recently read a short story called "Cinderella's Princess," based on the fairytale and originally written in Japanese, in which Cinderella's stepsister Camilla secretly tries to help her out but struggles to be honest with her feelings. She even disguises herself as the fairy godmother to help Cinderella attend the ball. The story plays out like normal to a point, but ultimately Cinderella would much rather be with Camilla (who's helped her all this time) than a random prince. (It's canon!)

Oh wow, that's quite a twist on the original story!
