Jays Comeback To Stun Twins.

Twins 8 Blue Jays 10 W-Swanson (1-2) L-Jackson (1-2) SV-Romano (6)

The Minnesota Twins stayed hot with a series opening win over the Blue Jays last night. They looked to keep things rolling in Toronto today. The Twins were ready from the start as Eddie Julien led-off with a single to center. Max Kepler reached on an infield single and Carlos Correa lined a run-scoring single to center. Alex Kirilloff plated a pair with a base hit to center and the Twins led by three before the Jays grabbed a bat. Minnesota kept adding on in the second when Carlos Santana led-off with a double and Eddie Julien walked. Trevor Larnach lined an RBI single to center to extend the Twins lead to four. Bo Bichette countered when he smacked a Simeon Woods Richardson change-up out to left for a solo homer. The Twins would answer in the third when Carlos Correa walked and Will Castro doubled. Carlos Santana belted a Kevin Gausman fastball out to center for a three-run homer and the Twins had a 7-1 lead. The Blue Jays wouldn't go away as Davis Schneider led-off the third with a double and Daulton Varsho doubled him home. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. plated a run with a single to center and Toronto pulled within four. The Twins came right back with a Ryan Jeffers solo blast off Zach Pop. The Jays would continue to chip away in the fifth when Davis Schneider blasted a Simeon Woods Richardson change-up out to left for a solo homer. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. kept the inning going with a single to center and Danny Jansen wacked a Cole Sands fastball out to left for a two-run homer. The Jays pulled within a pair after five innings of play. Toronto quickly loaded up the bases in the sixth and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. knocked in a pair with a base hit to left to tie the game. The Jays would load up the bases in the seventh and Ernie Clement lined a run-scoring single to center. Davis Schneider hit a sac fly to left and the Jays took a 10-8 lead. Yimi Garcia had a 1-2-3 eighth and Jordan Romano had a scoreless ninth as the Jays stole a win from the Twins today.

-Final Thoughts- Simeon Woods Richardson struggled at times today. He went 4 1/3 innings and allowed five runs on eight hits with two strikeouts. Cole Sands had a rare bad outing with three runs allowed in 1 1/3 innings, Steven Okert got out othe fifth. Jay Jackson gave up two in 1/3 of an inning, Caleb Thielbar retired one man in the seventh, and Josh Staumont had a 1 1/3 scoreless. Eddie Julien, Trevor Larnach, Max Kepler, Carlos Correa, and Carlos Santana had two hits each. The team hit 5-for-12 with runners in scoring position and left six men on base. Tomorrow Bailey Ober faces Alex Manoak in the series finale.

CHARACTER UPDATES

HOLLOW COVE

WOLF CROSS: Joining as many searches as possible while also trying to keep morale up and things running smoothly with his pack, i.e people's moods primarily. Wolf will be scatterbrained and probably very different to how people have seen him, perhaps resembling how he was when Josie was killed. Lots of angst to be had. Is for the revision of the 3 day grace period, and not pulling his weight that much around the town like he has previously. There will be some strain between Jones and Crosses at this time as Jackson and Wolf will clash with things to do with Jack and Sophia.

BEAU SULLIVAN: He's had a revamp! Is still somewhat similar to bitchboy!Beau but is back to his og roots now and is more of a rounded personality. He'll be going on searches for Teddy and Sophia. Is for the revision of the 3 day grace period. Has a few opinions about what happened with Jack that previously he kept quiet but is making them known now that he didn't agree with how it was handled. Lots of angst to be had if he's on a search with Crosses?

CARLO RAMOS: Will be doing whatever he can to look for missing Cross members but Carlo remains focused on searches for Cece and Amaris. He's a genuinely quiet person around people he isn't comfortable with still, so would be good to see him teamed up or doing something out of his comfort zone. For the revision of the 3 day grace period but he isn't about to get political, so he isn't vocal about it. Possible angst if he's got a lead on something to do with Amaris and Cece but is told to hang onto it and wait, and possible doesn't.

CALEB GRIFFIN: Will be primarily focused on searches for Kenzie and Alana and Kel at this time, and generally any Vaisman wolf. He's an easy going personality so he can be teamed up with anybody. He's probably busy around the town too. Doesn't think the 3 day grace period is a bad idea, is considerate of resources and manpower that could be wasted if it's any shorter.

EVERETT JONES: Is pretty much family focused always, and is more worried about Hazel and Bodie at this time than anything else due to Maren's return. He is also, obviously, worried and focused on finding Teddy and even, possibly, the Crosses. Which would be good development for him lol. Is against the revision of the 3 day grace period, and has plenty of reasons as to why but settles that it should be 2 instead.

BENJAMIN WALTON: Is more worried about what's happening with the Belcourt coven. Diplomatic as ever and is for the revision of the 3 day grace period. He's working frequently through the town and is easy going so any thread works for him. Is probably a little bit distracted because he's concerned about the situation with Felix.

THUNDER RIVER

THORIN JANSEN: Will be part of the escape so everything is pretty plot specific for him. Obviously hilarious if he has threads with non-Visser wolves. Chaos always? So, anything goes. But ultimately he will work hard to aid the escape plan.

STORR ALFFSON aka STOLL: Pretty much the same as Thorin minus Chaos. Storr is a great person to get on board the escape plan, he's very practical and steadfast. But anything goes for him too.

BRENDAN MURPHY: A little less chaotic than Thorin but more chaotic than Storr. Will be a team player for the escape, and helpful too as he's resourceful. Could do something that he's already got a hoard of supplies that are useful and trying to convince him to hand it over

Boston Red Sox-Minnesota Twins Series Preview

The Red Sox At A Glance- The Red Sox have shocked the baseball world by being one of the best pitching staffs on the young season. The team is (18-13) and just took two of three from the Giants this week. Tyler O'Neill has done well with his new team. He has hit a team-high nine home runs and knocked in thirteen runs. Connor Wong has been the hottest hitter with a .351 average and fourteen RBI. Former Twin Rob Refsnyer is hitting .343 as a part-time player. Masataka Yoshida has been out with a left humb injury. Vaughn Girssom did travel with the team to Minnesota and has been dealing with a hamstring injury. The pitching staff has been a bright spot for the Red Sox. Nick Pivetta (elbow), Bryan Bello (lat), and Garrett Whitlock (oblique) have been out and the team owns a Major League-best 2.03 ERA for the starters. Kutter Crawford has been great with a 1.56 ERA, Tanner Houck has a 1.60 ERA, and Cooper Criswell has been very good as well. Kenley Jansen has locked down five saves with a 1.86 ERA. The bullpen has been great with guys like Brennan Bernardino, Justin Slaten, and Greg Weissert.

The Twins At A Glance- The Twins have remained on a roll and return home with a ten-game winning streak. The team swept the road trip and look to remain hot. The team called up Caleb Boushely for Wednesday's game then sent him back to St. Paul. Jorge Alcala was called up to take his place. Byron Buxton left Wednesday's game with a leg injury and the severity of it is unknown. Jose Miranda has been hot with a .533 average over the past week. Carlos Santana found his swing with three homers and nine RBI in the past six games. Jhoan Duran returned to action on Tuesday and threw a shutout inning for his first save of the year. Jorge Alcala returns and had thrown 8 1/3 shutout innings before being sent down. Matt Bowman was claimed off waivers by the Diamondbacks after being designated for assignment earlier this week.

What To Watch For- The Red Sox went (4-3) against the Twins in 2023. Boston took two of three at Fenway Park in April then split a four-game series in June at Target Field. Tanner Houck is (2-0) with a 3.12 ERA in three starts against the Twins. Chris Paddack gave up six runs in 2 1/3 innings in his lone start against the Red Sox. Pablo Lopez went 5 2/3 innings and allowed five runs in his only start versus Boston. Cooper Criswell threw 3 1/3 shutout inning in his only appearance against the Twins. Joe Ryan is (3-1) with a 3.12 ERA in four starts against the Red Sox. That includes a complete game shutout against them on June 22 of last year. The Twins will level up in competition this weekend, so it should be fun how the series turns out.
