speaking of doylist explanations, i do tend to default to one on the question of why missy has a(n interrupted) redemption arc when the other versions of her don't, which is definitely down to the fact that all the new who showrunners seem to go with the view that master as a character exists to be a dark mirror of the doctor, and moffat's the one who doesn't view the doctor as fundamentally good but as someone who has to continually choose to not be terrible. so if the doctor can choose to be bad then by extension it must be true that the master could choose to be good. it's like poetry, it rhymes!

Happy Purim

Hey guys! I've been quiet lately, mostly because of doing house work and work work - packing and organizing and ect, but I'm still doing art and still writing my fics! So here's one I put together earlier this month and just finished for you guys! Happy Purim for those who celebrate! I made Hamantaschen/Hamantash for the first time and (while I kinda cheated by using Premade Pie crust dough), they were a hit at my weekly D&D group! Hope everyone has been doing well. Still so many things to get done before season 8! Whoo!

Hey, everyone!

I grabbed a ticket to see Theater Camp at my local indie theater for this afternoon. I have NEVER seen a movie by myself before (and this is the exact type of film my ex would hate), so it'll be a totally new experience for me.

I've heard it's wonderful and hilarious, so it sounds right up my alley. Plus, it's got two of my favorite female comedians: Amy Sedaris and Ayo Edebiri! 🙌🏼

Amy, as you may know, was a part of two of my favorite programs—Strangers with Candy (along with Stephen Colbert and Paul Dinello) and At Home with Amy Sedaris (where I first saw the hysterical Cole Escola!).

And Ayo is fantastic in everything, particularly as the new voice of Missy on Big Mouth and as Sydney on The Bear (and, yes, my post on that INCREDIBLE show will be up in September...I'm assuming it's going to sweep the Emnys!).

I will let you all know how the film is, and keep it here for more comedy fun! ✌🏼🐔

A while back I was back thinking about Big Mouth but I still haven't watched the new season (waiting for the final season this year before finishing it). Nick and Missy are my Roman Empire. I genuinely think about them at least once a week and yet no one else seems to have gotten it like I have. Or at all. But I had to draw some fan art of them bitching about someone (probably Jessi) while in high school. One day I'll get around to actually writing a fic with these two.
