Red Brick Vintage. Lomography Fisheye 2. Ilford XP2.
Red Brick Vintage has been a fixture of the Cains Brewery Village for as long as the latter has existed. In fact, it existed long before that area was redeveloped and has moved premises three times. It's current site is their biggest yet and includes a cafe.

HOBO KIOSK
This pub, in the Baltic Triangle area of Liverpool is just what you need if you want to overhear a conversation, then join in! With just enough local cans and taps, you'll find something to satisfy your bevvie needs. Take in the quirky off beat decor, joke with the friendly barkeep/owners and leave thinking, that was more fun than repeats of the Royle Family on the telly! But seriously, it's nice to see this lively small pub in the outskirts of the big Cains Brewery Village (nothing against Cains) thriving with a fun combo of kitschy, warmth and smiles.
Since this pub is cozy, I'd suggest friending them on FB to see if they are possibly filled up with an event before heading over.
I am not affiliated with any of the pubs I post on this blog, just in it for fun.

Current images of the Cain's Brewery Village in the Baltic Triangle section of Liverpool, England. This area has seen considerable revitalization starting prior to, then opening in 2009 from 18 former 100-150+ year old warehouses brought back to life with breweries, shops and eateries. Nicely done Liverpool, nicely done. It reminds me of Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland.

Aaron’s 28th (AO3)
for @yorit1 who said Robert was taking Aaron to Paris for his birthday this weekend and I fully support that idea.
---
“I have a surprise for you.” someone said as they came up behind Aaron and covered his eyes. It made him jump for a second until he recognised the hands and the voice.
“Alright, but make it quick, my husband will be back any minute.”
“Funny.” Robert dead-panned, removing his hands and stepping around Aaron. “Maybe I shouldn’t bother with the surprise then. Let you get back to work.”
Aaron rolled his eyes and put his hands on Robert’s waist.
“You know I’d never meet my secret boyfriend at work.” He joked and pinched Robert’s side for emphasis, making him squirm away from Aaron’s hands.
“You used to meet me at work when I was your secret boyfriend.” Robert pointed out.
“That was different! You work here too, it would be stupid to meet anyone here!” Aaron argued. “But can we stop talking about my non existent affair and get back to the part where you said you had a surprise for me?”
A smile spread over Robert’s face as he took his phone from his pocket.
“What are you planning on doing this Sunday?”
“Other than the surprise party in the pub mum and Liv think I don’t know about?” Aaron asked with a shrug. “Nothing I suppose...”
“How would you like to change that?” Robert asked, pulling something up on his phone and handing it to Aaron.
“What’s this? A hotel?”
“Yep. In Paris.”
“Right...”
“For you and me! A weekend away. In Paris.”
“A weekend in Paris? Are you mad? We’re supposed to be saving up for the baby, remember? We can’t afford a weekend in Paris.”
“It’s nothing too fancy. It’s a good deal. We can afford it, trust me.” Robert insisted. “I just figured, after the year we’ve had, we were due a weekend of peace and quiet.”
Aaron looked around the website.
“Have you booked it yet?”
“No. I wanted to leave it up to you. Your party in the pub with the entire family or a party for two in Paris.”
“Mum will kill me.”
“Nah.” Robert shook his head. “Only me. For taking you away. When I’m supposed to make sure you get to the pub in time.”
“But... what about Liv? She’ll be disappointed... and she can’t be on her own right now.”
“She’s not though is she? Cain is there with Kyle and Isaac. And the village is packed with people who will keep an eye on her.”
“I know... but...”
“But nothing. It’s your choice. We do what you want. Just you. Not me, not Liv, not your mum, not your gran trying to pinch my arse when she’s had a few too many, not Mandy getting drunk on your birthday Champagne... None of that matters. None of them get a say.”
“Birthday Champagne? You got me Champagne?”
“Yeah... but that’ll still be here Monday. And they have Champagne in Paris too.”
“Knowing my lot, that bottle will be gone when we get back Monday.”
Robert shrugged.
“We’ll get another one. Charity got me a good deal with the brewery for this one too.” he said then paused when he realised what Aaron meant.”
“Wait... get back? You want to go?”
Aaron smiled.
“Yeah. Book it. Let’s be selfish for the weekend.”
“There’s nothing selfish about celebrating your birthday the way you want to.”
“Good luck trying to convince my mum of that. She’ll hit the roof when we tell her.”
“So let’s not tell her. Text her before we get on the flight.” Robert said and smiled at the booking confirmation on his screen. “Paris here we come.”
---
As soon as they boarded the flight later that day, the flight attendant upgraded their seats to first class and gave them a complimentary glass of Champagne.
“Did you do this?”
“Nope. But I might have mentioned that it’s your birthday when I booked.”
“It’s not until Sunday though is it? They can see that in my passport.”
“Doesn’t matter. If your birthday is on a weekend, the whole weekend counts as your birthday.” Robert decided. “Everyone knows that.”
Aaron laughed and turned his attention to his phone, that was blowing up with texts and calls from Liv and his mum.
“They’re not happy with us.”
Robert shrugged.
“Tough. We’ll deal with them on Monday.” He said and turned his own phone off after ignoring the third call from Vic in the last 10 minutes. “This weekend, is all for you and only for you.”
The hotel was nice, nothing too fancy like Robert had promised, but a nice big bed and a bathroom with a bath big enough for the both of them.
“What do you think?” Good enough for the weekend?” Robert asked, wrapping his arms around Aaron’s waist from behind.
“Yeah, it’ll do.” Aaron joked.
They spent the rest of the night relaxing in their room with hamburgers and chips from the McDonald’s around the corner from the hotel and watching French TV.
Robert was happy to let Aaron take control of the remote as he dozed on their bed next to him.
“I used to watch this when I lived here!” Aaron said excitedly. “I can’t believe it’s still on.”
“What is it?”
“I don’t know. Some kind of drama series. I think it was on every weekday.”
Robert pushed himself up on his elbows.
“A drama series that was on every day? You mean a soap? Aaron Dingle are you a secret soap fan?”
Aaron laughed.
“You’re one to talk with your star wars or star trek or whatever star stuff it is you watch.” he said and laid back on the bed, tucking himself under Robert’s arm. “Never really had a clue what’s actually happening though. My French was shit back then.”
“Still is.” Robert replied which earned him a poke in the ribs.
The next day they spent the day exploring the city. They went all the way to the top of the Eiffel tower and took a selfie on the lower level, with Robert kissing Aaron’s cheek at the last second and the view of the city behind them.
“I’ll send that to mum and Liv. Maybe they’ll let us live to see my next birthday if we keep them updated.”
“Maybe we shouldn’t risk it and just stay here.” Robert said, only half joking.
“Tempting. But do you really trust Jimmy to take care of Home James on his own? And Seb can just get the train down here?”
“He’s smart, he’ll figure it out.”
“Who? Jimmy or Seb?”
“Both.” Robert said and they both laughed.
They left the Eiffel tower and decided to go for a walk along the river, slowly walking hand in hand, just looking around, not really talking, and just enjoying being together.
Only with Aaron ruining the afternoon by shocking Robert to his very core by buying an ice cream from a café they passed.
“It January. It’s cold. Ice cream is cold!” Robert said trying to reason with his husband, who just shrugged and offered him a bite.
“I promise I’ll warm you up when we get back to the room.” Aaron said and pressed a chocolate ice cream flavoured kiss to Robert’s mouth.
“I’m married to a lunatic.” Robert muttered but was happy to find Aaron keeping his promise a few hours later.
The next morning Aaron woke up to an empty bed and a few happy birthday texts from his family. When he opened his eyes properly, he saw a note on Robert’s pillow.
Gone to get breakfast. Happy birthday. Love you. Rob x
Before Aaron had a chance to wonder where exactly Robert was planning on getting breakfast from (their hotel had a perfectly fine breakfast buffet downstairs) the door opened and Robert walked in pushing a cart full of fresh croissants and orange juice, coffee, tea, every flavour jam available in the city, and some fresh fruit.
“What’s all this?”
“Room service. Breakfast.”
“They don’t do room service here.”
“They do if you ask nicely.”
Aaron raised an eyebrow,
“Ask nicely or slip them 50 Euro?”
“Ask nicely and tell them it’s your husband’s birthday and he deserves to be spoiled after having a rough couple of months.” Robert replied. “Plus the owner likes you. You look like her husband apparently.” he said and put a few croissants on a plate for Aaron. “They’re still warm.”
“Where did you get all this? And the trolley?”
“They were making breakfast for the buffet anyway... I just asked them to make a little bit extra for us. And the cart is a spare one from housekeeping.”
Aaron laughed and shook his head.
“You’re mad. A piece of toast and a cuppa downstairs would’ve been fine.”
“I know. But I wanted to spoil you. Make you feel special on your birthday. You deserve it.” Robert said, pouring a cup of coffee for himself and settling on the bed next to Aaron.
“Come here.” Aaron said and carefully pulled Robert close by the front of his jumper. “I love you.” He said and kissed him. “But this is all way too much.”
“I don’t care.” Robert said leaned in for another kiss. “Happy birthday.”

I’m gonna try and list events from emmerdale I remember because I have awful memory and want to see what I can recall [long post]
Emma set the barn on fire while Moira was in it but Moira told her she was in labour and Emma helped her out
Moira gave birth to Isaac but Emma steals him
Emma kills Fin
Ross tells Emma (his mum) to kill herself
But suicide is a sin so Emma aggravates Moira who pushes her off the bridge
There’s like loads of conspiracy about who actually killed Emma, pretty much everybody is a suspect, for a while everyone thought gabby and Arthur had something to do with it
Harriet finds Isaac in the church
Rebecca gives birth to seb
Robert tries to leave because he doesn’t want seb to be a fuck up like him and Aaron talks him out of it
But Robert has been planning to take over home farm and Rebecca’s pissed so she decides to stop Robert from seeing seb
The whites are moving to australia! But Lachlan doesn’t want to go because he want to stay with belle. So his mum asks belle to break up with him
Did I mention that Roberts not very happy about Rebecca taking seb to Australia and so he kidnaps him?
A car chase ensues and Lachlan is so mad about that belle thing that he tries to kill his entire family and successfully kills his mum and grandad. But not his auntie Rebecca!
Rebecca is in a coma now
I’m trying to remember other major events
Gabby doesn’t like her mums bf Daz so while charity and Vanessa get busy she steals some horse tranq and gets live to put it in Dazs drink
Liv accidentally puts it in Lisa’s drink and Lisa has a heart attack and gabby and Liv get arrested
Did I mention Belle and Lachlan are starting a brewery now?
I totally forgot about the Halloween party where Charity and Vanessa first got busy
I literally have no idea when all the joe Tate stuff happened but yeah joe pretended to be somebody else and dated Debbie and hid the fact he was trying to buy the piece of land her home was on so he could build a golf course
Joe moves into Home Farm and hosts a party for the whole village and while everybody is there has some bulldozers take a chunk out of the dingles cottage, not realising that Noah and Samson were still inside, luckily Graham and Eric save them
Oh Eric betrayed the dingles too btw but I can’t remember what he did, he also begins a relationship with Faith
Cain cheats on Harriet with Moira and the two eventually split up and Moira and cain get back together
Pete is super depressed and drinks a lot and almost dies cos he falls down the stairs
Laurel and bob have an affair and Arthur ends up finding out and eventually lots of people find out including bobs wife Brenda
Leyla leaves
Tracy thinks David had an affair with priya but it was actually Leyla (that’s why she left)
Everybody thinks Priya abused her niece Eliza but it turned out the bruising was caused by Eliza’s meds
Moira gets some drugs from Simon, the drug dealer of her daughter who overdosed
Debbie gets Simon to beat up joe but Simon decides to throw acid on him instead but Ross takes joes car so Simon throws acid on Ross by mistake and joe and graham help him
This is exhausting
I’ll continue later I’m nowhere near done this is like February
Please note: this isn’t In Chronological order because many of these story lines happened at the same time

Arts Bar Baltic. Nikon F65. Ilford Delta 3200.
The original Arts Bar was opened on Hope Street in 2022. Recently they have opened another venue on Parliament Street not far from the Cains Brewery Village and the Baltic Triangle.
I have caught a few live bands here and was impressed by the venue and the sound. I have made a mental note to go back and try the food.

The Coburg
This Pub seems to have stood the test of time, and development. I understand it was slated for flats 7-8 years ago and skirted closure, but hung on. It's a calm, non-descript, easy going place at the corner of Stanhope and high rises, lol. Sandwiched in between the Marina, and Cains Brewery Village, you can enter, slow down and chat with the locals. Most often, I come across fellas from road work, or construction as patrons. There is no music, so say hiya why dontcha? In the winter, the fire is usually on and the feel really improves with that warmth and steamed window panes. When the sun shines, the benches outside are a nice asset. I like to pull up with my bike in the summer. This pub has one thing I really really like, Theakston Dark Mild; quite possibly my favorite beer! Brewed out of North Yorkshire. Think Guinness lite. Not quite as dense and filling, but similar taste and a bit mellower. At 3.5 ABV, you can have a few and not get squiffy at all. As far as the Coburg, there's not a lot of gloss and sparkle, but there appears to be plenty of folks who like it that way.

£700m redevelopment for Liverpool Festive Park
This is a guest post written by Cristi Casella. The views expressed in this article are not necessarily shared by Property Moose or DFI Financial Services.
Liverpool Festive Park
A further step up on the national and international stage – that will be the result of the £700m redevelopment named Festival Park Liverpool.
The former Garden Festival site will be utterly transformed if the City Council sets the wheels in motion and approves plans and funds that will go towards working on the former 1984 International Festival Gardens site. This huge project will involve collaboration, a development partner, and Liverpool City Council giving the green light to deliver on a major cultural and leisure destination.
Part of the south Liverpool regeneration, the area would see an undertaking like never before and would include Southern Grasslands zones. The enormous task would make way for what would become a major leisure attraction for the city. The Park would be situated along a mile of waterfront on the edge of one of Liverpool’s riverside suburb where the views are some of the most attractive in the city.
The City Council is pushing ahead with a plan to turn the Otterspool area, which over 30 years ago was redeveloped for the 1984 Garden Festival. The Festival was an international event which took place between May and October in the city and was the first of its kind held in Britain. It attracted 3.8million visitors to Liverpool.
The City Council is actively working on the Festival Park Liverpool proposal with Heritage Great Britain to develop this major leisure attraction.
CGI mock-up image of Festival Park (Image courtesy of Liverpool City Council/Mayor of Liverpool)
The 42-hectare brownfield site is hoped to be turned into what is being dubbed as a ‘cultural garden suburb’ with visitor attractions, 2,500 homes and the possibility of a ferry terminal. All of this work will support the city’s programme of events as part of the tenth-anniversary celebrations as European Capital of Culture (a title Liverpool was granted in 2008).
The creation of the park will mean a huge difference to the city and has the potential to be a massive game changer for Liverpool’s economy. It would have the power and reach to bring in business and property investors of all shapes and sizes covering the commercial and residential property market.
Festival Park Liverpool separated into five sites:
Dingle Bank – including a new primary school, medical centre and community hub to facilitate the mixed-use housing.
Jericho Wharf – the social part of the residential area – with hotels, bars, and restaurants
Jericho Shore – residential apartments, cafes, restaurants, and bars
Festival Gardens – preservation, maintenance and enhancement of the existing gardens
The Southern Grasslands – earmarked to become a natural habitat for wildlife along with leisure activities
A mammoth project for the city, it not only includes the economic benefits of job creation, new homes in the area, and work for local and national businesses. It also means vast building work. Something the contracting and fit-out group Willmott Dixon, and Arup is set to carry out. With an estimated £232,000 package of work to undertake site investigation and enable work on the site to prepare the space for development.
The Festival Park project has created an opportunity to form a new ‘cultural garden suburb’ made up of various residential offerings which would make up to 2,500 homes. The aim of this south Liverpool housing space is to shape a community – a community that will create a neighbourhood and form bonds. With those who live in the area having access to high-quality local retail facilities, coffee shops, and restaurants.
As the site is within easy reach of the city centre, it benefits from the excellent public transport links – 15 minutes by car from national motorway networks and 25 minutes from John Lennon Airport. It’s expected that this major project will heighten the interest of those wanting to invest in the Liverpool and Merseyside property market.
Liverpool’s regeneration and investment
As a major large-scale project, Festival Park will have far-reaching economic benefits. This has been proved in the past with other major regeneration developments in the city and is one of the biggest factors driving Liverpool’s rental market.
The city has been on a steady regeneration process over the past three decades and has undergone seismic and significant changes with huge commercial investment in projects. Two good examples of this are the £1-billion retail district Liverpool One and the Baltic Triangle’s Cains Brewery Village – a 1-million-sq-ft, £150-million leisure and retail development. All of this is attractive to investors. And, has also given Liverpool the gumption to push on and surge ahead as a business, cultural, and popular tourism hot spot.
No matter the circumstances, the city keeps on striving. Making more of itself and in turn, making it easier for those in the UK and overseas to see the investment opportunities.
