♻️ Wirral's Community RePaint is celebrating one million litres of paint that have been saved from landfill.

♻️ Community RePaint Wirral collects paint from 16  Household Waste Recycling Centres as well as receiving donated leftover paint from businesses and decorators in the local area. Their shelves are stocked with thousands of full and part-full tins of paint that members of the public can purchase at an affordable cost, helping to ensure that usable paint is saved from unnecessary disposal.

♻️ Beckie Close, Director of Recipro, said: “Heart4Refugees is a local charity to the Wirral, and just one of many projects we’ve been lucky enough to support with our ReColour paint.”

♻️ Beckie added: “They run art therapy sessions for the refugees and asylum seekers they support, which has involved the creation of a beautiful mural. We were delighted to provide them with the ReColour paint to help bring their stunning artwork to life.”

🔥 Bonfire Night, a date specific to the United Kingdom, remembers The Gunpowder Plot of 1605 when Catholic conspirators, of which Guido Fawkes was a member of the collective of 13, tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament in order to kill King James I (The Jacobean Era). The goal for this plot was to aid in restoring a Catholic Monarch to the Throne of England.

🔥 After the 16th Century religious Reformations, particularly the 1536 English Reformation under Henry VIII breaking away from the Roman Catholic Church which increased the authority of the Church of England under Protestant ideals. These beliefs were particularly heavily enforced during the reign of Henry VIII's son, Edward VI, though the severity of these later reformations are generally often incorrectly attributed to his father's Henrician Reformation.

🔥 The Tudor reign and Jacobean rule was difficult for Catholics as persecution was rife, though this increased further after the failed plot. Robert Catesby, the man in charge of organising the Gunpowder Plot wanted to replace the Protestant King James I with a Catholic Monarch.

🔥 Despite popular belief, Guy Fawkes was not the leader, he was the Member found first as his job was to set off the fuse for the 36 barrels in the cellar beneath the Houses of Parliament.

🔥 Originally the bonfires were to celebrate the foiled attempt, however, over the centuries it is often commonplace for people to now celebrate the Plotters.

🍂 LEAF’s Spectacular Science Show is back this Friday the 1st of November in West Kirby to round off the half-term week.

🎃 The enchanting Halloween Lakeside Trail returns for 2024. The family and dog-friendly event at Partridge Lakes runs from Friday the 4th to Thursday the 31st of October.

🎃 There is also the new Halloween Terror Trail for those who are brave enough. The Halloween Lakeside Terror Trail will run on Friday 11th, 18th and 25th October and 1st November, when the family-friendly main trail will not be open. The terror trail welcomes guests aged 14 and over, but anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. And only 18+ will be allowed to enter the trail after 7pm.

🎃 Barbara Ikin, Event Manager & Halloween Lakeside Trail Organiser, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be back for 2024. We had great feedback in 2023 and were lucky to welcome thousands of visitors to our venue."

☀️ Step into a 1970s Dubai souk (a marketplace found in the Middle East), the brand-new Gulf House Restaurant will be bringing authentic Middle Eastern flavours to Liverpool this weekend.

☀️ The Gulf House Restaurant in Madison Square, off Duke Street, has been designed to look like a traditional 70s’ souk in Dubai, complete with terracotta mud-effect walls, Arabic script decoration and woven rugs and furniture.

☀️ The team behind the Gulf House Restaurant is excited about this latest offering to Liverpool which they say is the first of its kind in the UK.

☀️ A restaurant spokesman for Gulf House, said: “We have recreated all those magical memories from holidays and trips to the Middle East, so that the minute you walk through the door it’s like you’ve left Liverpool behind and entered a whole new world."

☀️ Step into a 1970s Dubai souk (a marketplace found in the Middle East), the brand-new Gulf House Restaurant will be bringing authentic Middle Eastern flavours to Liverpool this weekend.

☀️ The Gulf House Restaurant in Madison Square, off Duke Street, has been designed to look like a traditional 70s’ souk in Dubai, complete with terracotta mud-effect walls, Arabic script decoration and woven rugs and furniture.

☀️ The team behind the Gulf House Restaurant is excited about this latest offering to Liverpool which they say is the first of its kind in the UK.

☀️ A restaurant spokesman for Gulf House, said: “We have recreated all those magical memories from holidays and trips to the Middle East, so that the minute you walk through the door it’s like you’ve left Liverpool behind and entered a whole new world."
