outerwear: What's your OC's outerwear situation? Jacket, sweater, cloak? What sort of weather do they deal with most and how do they protect themselves?

How cold is it? Snow or rain or wind? Auro'usk got something for every condition. Mild chill just a jacket will do, for windy he will get thick scarves, heading into a snowstorm he will bundle up properly from head to toe if he now has to go out. Thankfully he usually deal with mild weather and rains at worst as he usually spends time in the Shroud where he currently lives.

He always tries to be well prepared since he is terrified of getting ill. Being rather prone to simple flus growing worse rather fast he tries his best to avoid exposing himself to the weather.

there are a number of holidays that nomin looks forward to! when she lived out on the steppe, she did look toward the tsagaan sar, not so much the naadam, though. the most she looked forward to when it came to the naadam were the pre-battle feasts that some tribes had.

outside of that, though, nomin really likes the idea of starlight. she has a soft spot for children, and wants to make them feel like they have something nice, so she's more than happy to participate in being a little helper to bring toys and goodies to kids. plus, without the romantic emphasis that valentione's has, starlight being filled with all kinds of festive goodies from chocolate to roast dodo, nomin is stoked about the starlight feasts and celebrations to dig in and have a meal that will knock her out by the end of the night.

Every Friday, like clockwork, Stefan found himself standing outside The Hourglass, Alexander's quaint bookshop nestled in the bustling brume sector of Ishgard. The familiar scent of old parchment and freshly brewed coffee wafted through the air as he pushed open the creaky wooden door and stepped inside.

The tinkling of a bell announced his arrival, and Alexander looked up from behind the counter. "Ah, Stefan! Good to see you again," he greeted, his voice carrying a hint of excitement. "The usual, I presume?"

Stefan nodded with a grin. "And surprise me with a new book this time too, hm?"

As Alexander prepared Stefan's black coffee just the way he liked it, he glanced at the stacks of books lining the shelves. His keen detective instincts always led him to choose something he thought his regulars would appreciate. Today, he settled on a forgotten tome about ancient ruins and lost civilizations—a subject that never failed to ignite Stefan's curiosity.

"I have something I think you'll find fascinating," Alexander said, placing the steaming cup of coffee on the counter. "It's a book about ancient ruins and the untold stories they hold. I thought it might capture your adventurous spirit."

Stefan's eyes sparkled with anticipation as he reached for the book. "Thank you, my friend. You always manage to find the most intriguing reads."

Alexander chuckled. "It's all part of the job. I love helping people find just what suits their particular tastes." He paused for a moment before adding, "Speaking of taste, I've prepared some fresh baked goods for you to take to P’sahji’to. I hope he enjoys them."

Stefan's expression softened. "He adores your baked goods, especially the pastries. You have a way with desserts just as much as you have a way with books."

The two men chatted about the latest literary discoveries, sharing stories and recommendations, while savoring the aroma of coffee that filled the air. It was a ritual they both cherished, a sanctuary of words and friendship amidst the bustling city.

After a while, Stefan reluctantly stood up, feeling the weight of time urging him to leave. "I must get going, my friend. P’sahji’to is eagerly awaiting my return. Same time next week though?"

Alexander smiled, his eyes twinkling. "I'll be here, ready with a new adventure and a fresh pot of coffee. Safe travels."

With a nod of gratitude, Stefan bid farewell to his friend and left The Hourglass, clutching the precious book in one hand and the basket of desserts in the other. As he strolled through the brume, the echoes of his footsteps mingled with the whispers of stories yet to be told.

Ki'to Does Ivalice

I meant to make this post sometime this week, but day-of is hopefully fine.

For those who might be interested, I'm running blind through the Ivalice AR tonight, and would love to bring some friends along!

Last Song: My phone says “Chimera” by Polyphia but I’mma be honest, I never mentally/emotionally/spiritually moved on from Ke$ha’s “Take It Off” which played about 8 minutes into my 40 minute drive to meet up with friends. That was about 10 hours ago.

Favorite Color: Brownish pinks? Like, more pink than red, but with that deep neutrality? But I also recently got a new sweater that’s a really bright and fun lilac that I’m obsessed with. Honestly, I like a lot of colors.

Last Book: The last actual novel I remember reading was a few years ago, and it was the “Butterfly Gardern” + subsequent sequels for a book club I was briefly part of. I actually prefer manga/manhwa though I cannot for the life of me recall what I read last with how long my list is, lol. Oh, but I did manage to scrape both volumes of “Little Mushroom” off ebay after the publishing company went belly-up so I might start that!

Last Movie: “Heart Eyes” – highly recommend if you haven’t seen it, but beware of the gore. It’s hilarious and doesn’t take itself too seriously, though the characters are a little… which I’m sure is on purpose.

Last TV Show: “The Tyrant” on Hulu (last I checked). It’s a kdrama about government conspiracies and monsters. The main MAIN character is super interesting in an already interesting cast and I really hope it gets another season!

Sweet / Spicy / Savory: All. At the same time.

The last thing I searched for online: “blake lively khaleesi text” – so I’m kind of obsessed with celebrity gossip…

Current Obsession: Epic the Musical, specifically God Games when Aphrodite opens her mouth.

I answered Q12 for Yein previously, for anyone interested in reading the response. But as for this...

15. Does your OC have a favorite holiday/festival or nameday memory?

I'm going to answer this one for the twins, because I think the memory is shared between them.

The two of them became aware fairly early on that they were being treated differently from other children in their familial clan. They didn't quite understand anything about blessed twins and serving as metaphors for the two halves of Nald'thal, but they felt the effects of all that.

No surprise then that the twins would have cherished the moments they were allowed to just exist as kids. During larger celebrations and important festivals, the whole family would be too preoccupied making preparations to mind them ⸺ unless they had specific roles to perform as part of the festivities. This meant Yein and Sacheo were able to run off and play, forgetting their supposedly divine duties.

I think perhaps during one of the spring-based festivals, they would have been given this opportunity to flee from their guardians and wind up lost in some beautiful pathway between the tunnels below and the forests above. They would have climbed the overgrowth and tried to catch bugs. Yein would have gotten upset with Sacheo until he let his quarry go. They would have fought and played and fought again, until they heard the distant droning of bells.

Annual Amorous Asks

Forest trails on the cusp of winter -- that moment right as autumn is ending and winter is soon felt upon the land. Sure, Nomin hates the cold, and has made this evident. However...the crisp air and slight chill reminds her -- reminds them -- of Sharlayan where they finally allowed themselves to bare their emotions to one another.

Though Sharlayan itself is too stuffy and perhaps a bit alienating to the both of them, that chill -- that crisp feeling. It tickles those memories. That elation.

I'd like to imagine that Nomin and Estinien, if they want to do something special, will go somewhere where the air isn't quite frigid to make it uncomfortable for Nomin. Somewhere where the trees are saying goodbye to their leaves as they go from fiery hues to being dead and brown, falling to the ground. From there, a clear night, the velvety sky speckled with countless stars that stretch on and on and on.
