     The other's words bring a soft laugh from the High Elder. Part of him being ‘way older than everyone else’ is certainly true, he supposes. In a way, he's been around for such a long time if one were to think about it that way. As if every incarnation was him and not some different consciousness. “I suppose in a way you're very right. Though, I think no matter what, the feeling of being young never really goes away. For my people, even with the part of me that's a High Elder, I'm still considered less of an adult and more like…let's say a teenager almost. Even if I don't quite look it.” He explained with a soft laugh. 

     Though, hearing that someone Yingxing knew happened to also know Dan Feng brought a wider smile to his features. “He is a very good friend to have. Stubborn at times, but very sweet.” Shoi-Ming returned with a little nod. “At least we get to see each other at all. It's more than I can say about some of the other High Elders. We only get to see each other when we need to. But A-Feng and I see each other quite often since the Preceptors think it will help to- mellow me out, let's say.”

It's Yingxing's hope, too, that everything might settle in time. While he's never confided the extent of his trouble in Master Huaiyan, not wanting to bother him with something so trivial when he'd been kind enough to take him in in the first place, the old general still picked up on the fact that he's having trouble adjusting. And he's told him that all he needs to do is to learn and grow, that patience will reap great rewards. The trouble is, patience isn't easy when you have so much less time than everyone else. "You're a High Elder though," he points out, "So part of you is way, way older than everyone else on the Xianzhou. Do you really ever feel young?" Is that something that never goes away, maybe?

He perks up a bit at a familiar name being mentioned. He knows that one from the stories! "Miss Baiheng says Imbibitor Lunae is a good and loyal friend to have." He nods. "She loves him a lot. Even if she says he's a silly old lizard. And she's never wrong about people, so it's good that you have him, even if you can't visit each other often because of duty."

What did we learn class?

Az is willing to risk his life for literally everyone and his desire to taste the "nectar" of Elain is really not something special considering he's enjoyed quite the number of others. I wonder how many secret lovers he's had since he met Elain. Your "forbidden love" trope simply turns Elain into a secret just like the rest.

Not to mention he stared at Mor with heat and yearning while Elain sat in the room with him after the events of ACOWAR, that's your idea of love? 🤔

You should be less focused on Az putting another notch in his belt and more concerned with why he put more thought into planning for a snowball fight than how he might have a future with Elain.

THEORY TIIIIIIIIMEEEE!!!! chat, it is time for me to finally actually share this theory of mine because i am INSANE over this

dragons rising is directly paralleling the original seasons of ninjago. the new generation of characters is walking the same path, following in the footsteps of the ninja.

rise of the serpentine + legacy of the green ninja - season one

the beginning. this is where everything starts. the first threat is introduced, the lore begins to get explained, all that stuff.

the ninja are rookies, being trained by wu. the new ninja are rookies being trained by lloyd (+co). the serpentine = beatrix + the dragon hunters. it seems like the big bad is garmadon, turns out its the overlord pulling the strings. it seems like the big bad is beatrix, turns out ras has been pulling the strings. lloyd unlocks his power and defeats the overlord, sora unlocks her power and defeats beatrix. a lot of these are just smaller, more basic parallels. but bare with me.

rebooted - season two part one

here is where the parallels get slightly more noticeable, at least to me. we have 'big group of evil people, being led by the one who was pulling the strings last season', aka the overlord and the nindroids in rebooted, versus ras and the wolf masks in dr. the overlords goal is to get out of the computer world, and regain a physical body/power, versus how ras + co want to bring back the forbidden five. the overlord needs lloyd to do this, ras needs bonzle to do this.

then, when all seems lost, when it seems that evil is about to win, someone stops it. zane sacrifices himself to destroy the overlord. bonzle uses a burst of her power to close the portal. both of them were treated as objects by the big bads, both of them sacrificed themselves in the end to stop evil from winning.

tournament of elements - season two part two

(idk if i should label this as spoilers for s2p2, i think its been out for long enough??)

this one is even more obvious. im pretty sure everybody noticed the parallels between tournament of elements / tournament of sources. we got the ninja go to a tournament not for the tournament itself, but to save zane/to find out who is behind the the archdragons deaths. roby and skylor with their evil family members. zane and cole trying to get escape chen, bonzle and kai trying to escape netherspace. the tournament was rigged and also someones stealing all the powers. but theyve been stopped, but someone has been lost (garmadon having to sacrifice himself / arin leaving for ras's side). overall, a ton of parallels.

possession - season three (or possibly just s3p1, we dont know yet)

arin. we all saw his character arc. he is directly. paralleling. morro. its painful how obviously history is repeating itself. season 3 is going to parallel possession. but this time, instead of it being that morro's story was in the past, this time it's arin's, and its happening in the present.

i think morro is going to talk to arin. we have the leaks/rumors that he is coming back. we see what is happening to arin. after everything, after morro finally redeemed himself, realized how painful the path he went down was, he would not want arin to do what he did.

this is where things have a chance to change. the ninja have a chance to realize the path arin is going down, a chance to stop history from repeating itself. they have a chance to save him before he no longer wants to be saved.

so anyways! 😁 thats my theory, ive had it for a hot minute but with the rumors of morro coming back/just generally more to back me up after part two came out i NEEDED to share this or else i would spontaneously COMBUST.

This is far from my best work, but it's 1:30am, and I needed to get this down before I slept or lost my mind. So here, take a snippet of Rook seeing Zara again for the first time in 3 years.

Trying, and failing, to keep his voice from shaking, [Rook] said “Hello, Captain.” Mouth still open in surprise, [Zara] replied “Well, hello yourself.” The reality of what she was seeing seemed to hit her as she rounded the desk. “Rook, is that really you?” He nodded. “It’s me.” Zara ran towards him, stopping just short of touching him, and said “What did she do to you?” Rook’s heart stuttered and he had to brush his fingers together to confirm Sigmar’s ring was still in place. Could she possibly see through its illusion? But then he remembered what Lanny had said. She knew where you were. His throat clenched and he choked out “Two years.” A wave of grief swept across Zara’s face as she said “I’m so, so sorry.” Rook shook his head vigorously. “It’s not your fault.” Zara ignored him. “It is my fault. I failed you. As your captain, it’s my responsibility to keep you safe, and I failed you.” Rook wanted to say something, to reassure her, but she pushed on. “She sent me letters, told me all the terrible things she was doing to you. I… I let you down.” Those words hit Rook with the force of a dozen cannonballs. Lanny had said that Zara knew Wolf had him, but knowing that Zara had been aware of what Wolf was doing to him… somehow that was more painful than any wound Wolf had ever inflicted. He barely managed to force his next words out around the lump in his throat. “Where were you?” And why didn’t you come? “She said she’d kill you if I came to get you. Or if I hired anyone to get you. You’re standing here because I stopped sailing.”
