This is far from my best work, but it's 1:30am, and I needed to get this down before I slept or lost my mind. So here, take a snippet of Rook seeing Zara again for the first time in 3 years.

Trying, and failing, to keep his voice from shaking, [Rook] said “Hello, Captain.” Mouth still open in surprise, [Zara] replied “Well, hello yourself.” The reality of what she was seeing seemed to hit her as she rounded the desk. “Rook, is that really you?” He nodded. “It’s me.” Zara ran towards him, stopping just short of touching him, and said “What did she do to you?” Rook’s heart stuttered and he had to brush his fingers together to confirm Sigmar’s ring was still in place. Could she possibly see through its illusion? But then he remembered what Lanny had said. She knew where you were. His throat clenched and he choked out “Two years.” A wave of grief swept across Zara’s face as she said “I’m so, so sorry.” Rook shook his head vigorously. “It’s not your fault.” Zara ignored him. “It is my fault. I failed you. As your captain, it’s my responsibility to keep you safe, and I failed you.” Rook wanted to say something, to reassure her, but she pushed on. “She sent me letters, told me all the terrible things she was doing to you. I… I let you down.” Those words hit Rook with the force of a dozen cannonballs. Lanny had said that Zara knew Wolf had him, but knowing that Zara had been aware of what Wolf was doing to him… somehow that was more painful than any wound Wolf had ever inflicted. He barely managed to force his next words out around the lump in his throat. “Where were you?” And why didn’t you come? “She said she’d kill you if I came to get you. Or if I hired anyone to get you. You’re standing here because I stopped sailing.”

so catreus is my second rook attempt, and he has enriched my experience in several ways:

after getting himself in trouble at home, "go stay with uncle varric until the heat on you dies down" makes a lot of sense for a baby hawke

my imagined "i get to hang out with uncle varric!" dynamic makes the opening part pretty cute :)

also "rook" really tracks as a varric nickname for a baby hawke, especially if his other dad saddled him with a pretentious tevinter name. you know varric's not saying all those syllables.

(ok look. listen. the chess piece explanation is a double meaning and/or just a clever varric obfuscation of the link to cat's famous dad. don't @ me.)

Heartslabyul: Riddle augh i love riddle his ob flashback really hit hard for being the first one was sobbing at it bc it hit a bit close to home 😭 and it doesn't help that the VAs are really good too so their lines just REALLY HIT other than that i just love his entire alice-in-wonderland queen-of-hearts aesthetic! i think his design is just very pretty

Savanaclaw: Leona other than heehee hoohoo pretty lion man i kind of relate to him as well??? he has this "i give up, what's the point" attitude but at the same time i believe there's still something at the back of his mind that still wants and believes there's "hope" of being something more that's just how i interpret his character tbh bro also seems to have a soft spot for the first years (jack and epel specifically i believe) and i think that's cute

Octavinelle: Jade i honestly just like the idea that he might be more insane than floyd but people assume he's the more reserved twin because of how he carries himself

Scarabia: Jamil *looks at entire blog* sigh i ;;; i cant, i cannot write an essay -

Pomefiore: Vil i saw that the EN version apparently assassinated his character??? but idk i really like him because from what i see, vil sees the potential in everyone and he doesn't like it when people don't try to be their best self and people assume that he's really confident and thinks highly of himself but even HE knows he's not perfect (which is like the whole conflict in book 5 i think) but anyways uhhh vil pretty man he's pretty

Ignihyde: Ortho ortho my baby boy he's just really cute .w. he's just as unhinged as his brother tbh ortho is just more innocent in a sense

Diasomnia: Silver aurora was like my favorite disney princess as a kid and silver is just ough so sweet ;;; it doesn't help that i got his ssr during his showcase and i fell in love with his vignette and his part in book 7??? I'm 😭 he's honestly so cute and HIS EYES??? so pretty

Heartslabyul: Trey i just don't feel too strongly about trey in general ;;; and out of the five i think he's the most uninteresting one to me??? i do like his dynamic with riddle but by himself ;;; he's just a guy 🧍

Savanaclaw: Jack he's also just a guy to me 🧍🧍🧍

Octavinelle: Floyd to be honest my feelings about the octatrio are pretty neutral so in terms of favorites they're all on the same level ;;; but to explain, i chose floyd because i kind of disliked him in the beginning but i learned to appreciate his character more until he's in the same level as azul and jade

Scarabia: Kalim KALIM IS LIKE A CLOSE SECOND TO JAMIL IN TERMS OF FAVORITE and considering they're just two people i really have no other choice - kalim ;;; my beloved sunshine boy it's weird labeling you as least favorite scarabia character

Pomefiore: Rook rook is another level of UNHINGED omg i like seeing how others interpret him though, it's so funny amping up his stalkerish behavior, which is the thing that really puts me off about him but i do like that he sees the beauty in everything that's like the only redeeming quality i can think of for him hfdksjfldj

Ignihyde: Idia another instance of having no other choice because it's only two characters in the dorm 😭 the only reason i chose him here is because i disliked idia at first because of his ;;; tendencies in general but he's kinda grown on me recently especially after book 6

Diasomnia: Sebek i have ;;; mixed feelings about sebek tbh didn't like him at first but book 7 and interpretations of him had me thinking a bit differently i think i just like him in the context of the rest of the diasomnia cast ;;;

THERE ARE LESS COLOURS HERE!!! Anyways of course (cause i did a 50/50 i gotta make post) But here's the run down of everyone's reaction to the Evil Podcast (Colours are for fun, Jade is blue and Cater is Orange, obviously. I may have to sub colours depending)

HEARTSLAYBUL

Riddle:

Riddle is quiet comically displeased at the idea of the Podcast. Of course he listens in, he has to support his loyal card soldier! Refuses to admit that he is super hooked on the drama. Claims it good for catching rule breakers. Tunes into something called "A-Deuce Trouble Time" And uses it effectively. Warns Cater that Jade might be up to something. Jade is technically up to something. That "thing" is the podcast. And maybe a has a bit of a gay plan but he wouldn't tell. Cater thanks Riddle for worrying about him and supporting the podcast. But he also betrays a bit and brings up some Riddle moments <3.

Trey:

Funnily enough Trey is probably one of the biggest listeners of the show. Enjoys listening to it when doing his tasks like baking, studying or anything like that. He doesn't show off that he listens to it, but if you enter the kitchen while he bakes, its not a surprise to see him listening to it as he walks around, and laughing at the jokes. He's still waiting for the day they actually talk about food during "Foodie Favs." Jade has a tendency to invite Trey onto the show during Meetings with the House-wardens and the Vices, and Cater invites him after school hours when they hang out in dorm. Both get the same response, Trey doesn't think himself as that entertaining

Ace:

He loves hearing about the Drama, but hates being the Drama. Unluckily for him, there's an entire section dedicated to the EXTENSIVE list of shenanigans he and Deuce get up to called the "A-Deuce Trouble Time." Whenever that moment happens, he calls or Texts Cater and immediately starts ranting about how "It wasn't their fault" and "Deuce started it" and the like. Jade is highly entertained by Ace's reaction and never knows when Cater will start "A-Deuce Trouble Time." Cater always plays the voice messages into the microphone or read the texts out loud. His favourite moments is when Ace calls during recording, so he can have a conversation while everything is still rolling

Deuce:

While not as much as a listener, he does still try to listen to it when he can, even if he gets distracted with something else as he listens. He really only starts to listen when he hears his name being brought up. He gets super embarrassed about all the trouble he's getting into being aired out. But hey, at least the Ace moments are pretty entertaining afterwards, and at least he has enough sense to not actively call. Really, he's just glad his mom isn't listening as far as he's aware. Jade being the mischievous individual he is has thought about messaging Mrs. Spade, but Cater talked him out of it, as to not embarrass his "Favourite first year."

Leona:

Leona uses the podcast as the worlds strangest sleeping aid. Actively uses it to not pay attention to anything and to fall asleep. He pretends that the doesn't like the show and also pretends he doesn't listen to it. Somehow tricked himself into getting even more tired whenever he hears Cater or Jade's voice, causing a bit of problems in the house-warden meetings. Jade hasn't completely picked up on this just thinking that Leona is sleepy as usual, but Cater has and struggles to not call it cute whenever he sees Leona falling asleep when he talks

Ruggie:

Ruggie thinks, like Trey, the show is good background noise for tasks, but is less attentive to the actual words. Also loves the drama, as most do, and its not unheard of to hear his "Shi-hi-hi-hi"'s out of nowhere as he listens. Ruggie's also pretty glad that the podcast is easily accessible, doesn't cost anything to listen to. He has listened to parts of it during his breaks at the Monstro's shifts. Jade is pleased when he hears his own voice, and may have given Ruggie a bit of a longer break because of it. Cater was caught off guard that Ruggie listened in, which lead him to figure out how popular the podcast is. #wow

Jack:

Doesn't listen to it chronologically, and really only listens to it whenever he remembers. Was introduced to it by Deuce and listens to it out of obligation and because its his friend. Jack absolutely smiles when he hears Ace and Deuce get mentioned, and will sometimes bring it up to them at lunch to watch them get a embarrassed. Listen to it during his morning routine, or during a light run. Not track tho, the headphones might fall out. He's not really one for gossip, but the non gossip things he finds interesting. Jade is surprised that Jack listens considering how "no nonsense" he is and how the show is pretty much all nonsense Cater finds it sweet that Jack listens because of Deuce, so he adds some not drama stuff for him

Azul:

Podcast's biggest victim of all time, and I'm only 1/4th joking. He tunes in because he knows that Jade's knowledge is up to date, and actually gets a lot of good data from the two of them talking. It's a good source of trends and the lives of NRC, so he bares with the stories and tidbits about him. It's a shame with how frequently it happens really, he can't escape it ever. He always make sure that he's listening when he's alone so he doesn't get spotted looking bright red with embarrassment, and has the fastest pause reaction time to make sure no one hears anything. Jade's 2nd/ 3rd priority of the Podcast is to tease Azul. Just for fun, he is thriiiiiving off it. It's not like Azul can stop him anyways. Cater has less fun, but fun none the less. He's actually much more glad that Jade is having fun, thinks it's cute. He says it after the recordings end

Floyd:

Will listen, but will only jump to the parts he'd find interesting. Specifically parts where Azul or Riddle get teased or brought up. Won't listen to a whole episode, and he "Refuses to listen to a bunch of hours of his brother having a big huge crush on his cohost." Floyd is still supportive when he wants, makes snacks for recording hours if he feels like it. Love barging in on Azul listening in, lean on his shoulder, and teasing him along with recording Jade. Is almost as elated as Jade is about Azul's misfortune, if not more. The twins really work together to bring him lighthearted misery. Jade is very thankful and happy for his brother's support and always makes note when the "interesting parts" happen so he can give them to Floyd. Cater is a bit nervous about how much teasing the two get up to, but does find it cute. He doesn't really understand what Floyd means about the whole "Crush" thing though.

Scarabia:

Kalim:

The Podcast's very first real guest!! (Ace doesn't count, cause that's just voicemail/ text.) Kalim was super supportive of Cater before they actually started everything, and even went as far as to buy him a bunch of recording stuff before Cater even committed to the idea. He would've supported the show even more, full on renting an entire building for the two, if it weren't for Jamil and Cater insisting that it was too much already. Kalim has listened to every episode, but has no idea what's happening at all and he just laughs whenever they laugh. He had so much much fun on his episode and just talked about whatever he could, how much fun he was happening, about his friends, all the good things. Jade was very happy to learn from Kalim and had a lot of fun, especially when Kalim would drop tiny accidental hints about Jamil (Teasing material, really.) Cater absolutely had a lot of fun and was infected by Kalim's high energy, even if he had to reign in Kalim a couple times from sharing too much information.

Jamil:

Jamil is the second biggest teasing victim, by Azul's proxy. He did get hooked on it after Kalim first showed him the first episode. Despite the teasing, he does laugh (and blush) at Azul's expense. He wouldn't admit it but he's also pretty hooked on the drama, but doesn't get as mad as Riddle. He refuses to admit that he's an avid listener, but his roommate does literally listen to it with him in the morning by happenstance. He also listens to it while cooking, but he can't get that one "Foodie Favs" segment out of his head. Also wishes that "Foodie Faves" talked about actual food, for his sake. Jade is completely aware of his role in the awkward moments that Azul and Jamil have afterwards, and loves fueling that fire. Cater also enjoys his role, but wishes those two would just confess already, no matter how much drama he has to spill.

Vil:

Morning listener only. Heard of its popularity and decided to give the first episode a go. Was quite surprised at the quality of it, but not surprised at what they knew. It's no secret that Cater was always trendy and that Jade knows so many secrets. Nevertheless the amount the two talked about caught him off guard, as they managed to talk about trends in media, food even if it was mostly drama. He at first assumed that it was surface level, so the depth they went into gt him invested. Another person who listens in secret, and the only one who knows is Rook and the hosts themselves. Jade was surprised when Vil gave him a microscopic compliment when picking up his toner. Cater was offer a millimeter and took a parsec, excitingly gushing to Jade about it

Rook:

Knows what's in an episode before it even releases. It's not that hard to figure out really. Jade and Cater talk about it in public and the drama does happen at their school, but Rook knows the order and the most of the jokes. A very vocal supporter of the show, offering praise whenever Jade or Cater are near by, but no one has actually seen him listening to the podcast at all. Rook is especially loves the way the two talk to each other, and thinks that the chemistry between the two is "très magnifique" much to their confusion. Jade is startled every time Rook compliments him, and does his best to keep some of the show a secret. Cater is less concerned about that and has a passing thought on Rook being an "informant" but that wouldn't make it as "fun"

Epel:

Epel is only here for the drama of "A-Deuce Trouble Time" and loves it soooo much. Love to relentlessly use it against the two, and mocks them whenever he can. Was introduced to it by Jack, and laughs super hard when Jack also brings up their "dedicated segment." Doesn't let Vil catch him listening, cause he thinks he's get reprimanded for listening to "A gossip tabloid." He is completely unaware of his housewarden's own interest in the show. Has heard of pretty good sounding foods that he thinks about researching to send to his Grandmother, so he asks Jade for recipes. Jade happily passes these recipes on as a thanks for allowing him to come to Harveston. Cater is also sometimes approached by Epel who gives him "Bonus A-Deuce content"

Idia:

Idia was a complete week late to the party, learning about the podcast when Ortho introduced it to him and he decided to listen online at 3am, thinking it was a fictional one. It wasn't until about 45 minutes where he realized it was actually Jade and Cater and that it was actual happenings in the school. Of course this was after he made secret fanart of the two hosts which he never posted anywhere. He does really like it, and has re-listened to everything at least twice. He's always first to tune in, have alerts set and is always the first to comment. Jade once tried ask him for advice on tech set up and the best microphone, but Idia straight up panicked before he even said anything and Jade never got his answer. Cater is super glad that Idia tunes in, and recognized Idia's username on their first comments.

Ortho:

I am personally a big fan of Lil Stinker Ortho, so he likes to play a little game where he notes drama that happens around the school and cheers when something he noticed gets brought up in the podcast. He also loves "A-Deuce Trouble Time" and doesn't tease as much as Epel, but does it more than Jack. Of course he knows about his brother's secret fanart. He's also a part time guest of the Podcast itself, as he gets a shoutout and says a little hello, because he fixes their tech issues. He also loves to download the podcast directly so he can listen to it whenever he wants to. Jade is very thankful for Ortho's help, seeing as he doesn't get to use tech very much due to Mer and water stuff. Cater was the one who had the idea of Ortho getting a shoutout and invites him on to say hi because of how excited Ortho was to help out.

Diasomnia

Malleus:

Of course he was also super late to the party, and still kind of is. He doesn't listen chronologically, and also never knows when a new episode drops. He usually relies on Lilia to let him know, but he ends up with a huge back log of things to listen to anyways. Despite being behind the curve, the podcast does actually make him feel a bit more connected to his fellow students, and the school itself. He also doesn't understand a lot of the drama that gets talked about. It did take him a bit to realize that it is not live, but he got it eventually. He likes to loom and listen to it as he walks around at night, makes him feel a little less alone. Jade was completely caught off guard when Malleus came up to him to ask questions about the podcast, and honestly was a tad afraid. Cater on the other hand was only a little scared, having chatted and hung out with Malleus before, and happily explained all the deets about the show.

Lilia:

Another big fan, and loves the drama. Constantly talks about how "News travels so fast now-a-days and by such advanced means." He doesn't listen right away and more so whenever he wants to. Congratulates Cater on "Finding such a good partner, who's on the same wave length" much to Cater's confusion. Also loves ranting about the show to Silver, and he finds the youths so interesting. He also sometimes sends the two anonymous tips about other secrets, more so about staff drama than anything. Old man privileges I suppose. Jade is so entertained about these teacher gossip tips, and loves to sprinkle them in. Cater is confused about Lilia's "jokes" but seeing as he's his number 2 gossip bud (Jade is #1 of course!), Cater set up Anon tips just for him

Silver:

Like Leona he also uses it as a sort of sleeping aid, though its purely by accident. He listens in because his father introduced it to him and talks to him about it, but he always falls asleep part way through. He finds their voices, specifically Jade's, pleasant and soothing to listen to, so he always sleeps soundly and much faster. Now if only his headphones didn't press up against his head while he slept, really it would be the perfect sleep for the sleepy soldier. Jade is very very much flattered that Silver finds his voice soothing, and Cater has heard stories from Lilia of him finding Silver sleeping while listening and thinks its adorbs

Sebek:

Sebek really only listens to it, because Malleus listens to it. Really he was introduces to it by Epel before his master heard of it, but brushed it off as a waste of time. He doesn't actually think that it has any substance, but would never admit that about Malleus' interests in a thousand years. Like all the other first years he enjoys "A-Deuce trouble time" and mocks/ chastises the two about it, and has to hide a smile whenever they get brought up. Has listened to every episode in case Malleus ever wants someone to talk about it with. Jade is amused that Sebek is so dedicated to Malleus that he'd so something that he clearly isn't that big of a fan of. Cater just thinks Sebek's yelling is a tad endearing, but its also just free advertisement.

So I read the request of the reader screaming because of a spider and the dorm leaders thinking the reader was in danger and then I was like, what if we were actually in danger, like getting attacked by a person. So I wanted to request the reader being attacked by someone and the being protected by the dorm leaders. I hope this is clear enough, well have a good day 😁😁

Oh boi-

Riddle Rosehearts

Riddle hasn't felt such rage since his overbolt. No, this rage was so much bigger and greater. How dare they?!

He's immediately by your side, screaming "OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!!!". If this wasn't enough to stope your attacker, Riddle uses all protection spells and tricks he learned in NR college.

Dorm leader is well aware if he uses attack spells or overuses self-defence, it's going to backfire. He'll also be an attacker.

After some time of defending, bastard who attacked you finally was out of breath. Right in that moment, Riddle hits them in the gut. Just in case.

Incident is reported to Dire (if birdman does nothing, he'll have to face overbolting Riddle again). And person who attacked you is delt with. Properly.

After that fight, you're momentarily sent to the nurse office. Riddle is so worried, he spends all his time by your side. Only reasons why he leaves you, is lessons,l and some hella important things other then that, dorm leader is always near you.

Leona Kingscholar

Oh, that lion is pissed. Leona doesn't care what is about to happen, he only knows one thing for sure. That piece of a person is going down.

Usually Leona wouldn't interrupt fights or end them, unless it was absolutely necessary. But seeing you in one. On receiving side if it. Oh damn- someone was either stupid or had the biggest balls around for that kind of stuff. Everyone knew: If you mess with Ramshackle perfect, you mess with Leona.

Fists, magic everything is thrown into the fight. It doesn't matter of the person is stronger then Leona, that lion will get make them go down. Meanwhile Ruggie is at your side, trying to get you to a nurse office.

When Leona is done beating the living shit out of with attacker, he's by your side. He doesn't leave you. At all. He sleeps near you, eats near you (Ruggie was kind enough to deliver Leona food once in a while), sleep again- He misses damn lessons pretty often already, he doesn't care.

No one can go near you, unless it's a medical staff member or Ruggie with food.

Azul Ashengrotto

At first, He couldn't believe his own eyes. Who was stupid enough to do this? My lord was he mad. I don't think anyone has ever witnessed him being this mad before.

He gets between two of you immediately. Azul uses all protection spells he knows on you. He isn't the best in physical strength (usually twins do the dirty job) but when it comes to protecting his angelfish, oh boi- does this dude gets feral.

After the fight is over and you're getting proper medical help and whole thing is reported, Azul calls Leech twins. No one gets away from him after hurting his Angelfish.

After all that, in private, he crys near your bed. Azul feels pathetic. He couldn't protect you! His greatest treasure. He fells like hiding in his octoput, with you near him. Azul stays by your side as long as possible. He has school and business to attend to. However, you're more important then any of those things.

Kalim Al-Asim

Poor boy has no idea what to do! Whom am I kidding, he knows what to do. BREAK THE FIGHT! He doesn't want anyone fighting. Especially you.

If attacker keeps pushing on, trying to punch or kick, Kalim would just call for help or use his unique magic. He really doesn't want to be involved in something as horrible as this!

Jamil is there to slap sense into him. After calming down after a mini panic attack, Kalim immediately gets you to the nurse office. He is there with through the whole check up and is there even after.

Kalim reports this attack to Dire (if birdman does nothing, he'll face overbolting Kalim or something close to that). He will make that person pay. Dorm leader isn't usually the one for revenge but right now, he wants justice.

Like Azul, his very sorry. Kalim doesn't care if his crying in public, he really doesn't! He was so confused, it's his fault for not being able to protect you or take care of you. If it wasn't for Jamil, bringing him back to his senses he'd still be having that panic attack.

He's willing to skip classes, if you want him near you (Jamil is typing). After tha incident, he is all tingly all over and is a bit paranoid. Please be patient with him. Kalim wasn't that traumatized from boing poisoned.

Vil Schoenheit

How dare they?! Vil was furious. He never felt so much disgust for a human being before! He was ready to tear them apart. Who do they think they are too harm his sweet potato?!

Vil has never looked this bitten up. No, wrong term. He never looked so deadly. His hair messed up a bit, face twisted with rage and his clothes being a nit wrinkly. He was truly terrifying.

Like Azul and Riddle, he understands the backfire if he overuses his magic but dear God he's in such rage. Vil isn't the one to throw hands for nothing, fortunately for you though, you're everything to him. Vil throws in every protection and 'passive-aggressive' spell he can remember.

After the fight is over, Vil makes sure himself that you get the best medical treatment. The thing is immediately reported to Dire (if birdman does nothin, he faces bunch of furious fans of youxVil). He spends every free moment he can by your side. All his meetings are cancelled and he has Rook guarding you 24/7.

Some time later, he makes Rook stalk the bastard who hurt you. After he knows enough information, Vil will hunt that piece of person. He may not be the best when it comes to strength but he is master of hurtful words and sabotages. Vil will make them pay for what they did to his sweet potato.

Idia Shroud

He's so terrified, has no idea what to do! Video games only gave him instructions how to bit the bosses not...This! Seeing you hurt, trying to defend yourself, it makes him feel weak, more pitiful.

The way you try to fight back someone so much stronger then you, it wakes something in him. Need, no must to protect.

Oldest of the Shroud brothers maybe shy and nerves wreck all over the place but when it comes to people he loves and cares about, all of his trades disappear. Before you, is not a shy and nerves Idia, it's Mr. Shroud.

With a blink of an eye, his by your side. On the outside, he is confident blackmailer but on the inside there's a killbill siren on the max volume. He's panicking inside okay?! Just because he looks like he's about to end someone's career (which he is-), doesn't mean Idia is even close to being confident.

Idia won't try to fight back, he'll just get you out of the fight. He may be a bit braver then before, that doesn't mean he's dumb now. He knows he's weaker then that bastard. He get's you to medical staff as fast as possible. Once you're save in nurse office, Idia lets himself panic all he wants.

He can't help but cry, feeling weak and pathetic. What good is he, if he couldn't protect person he loves?! Please, give this guy some love and reassurance. Idia feels absolutely broken. Don't think he forgot about that attack though...The person who did this will pay. Idia has a lot if blackmail material for a reason.

Malleus Draconia

Okay, genuine question. Does the person has a death wish? Like I'm genuinely curious. Everyone knows not to mess with Diasomnia dorm and their leader especially.

Malleus literally summons thunder when he sees this. Dark aura surrounding him, while he walks closer you and that poor unfortunate soul. How dare some, mere a fly compared to him do such things to his beloved?

Let's be real. Anyone, dumb or not, would stop attacking you and just ran away crying like a little beech baby. Though soon enough they're caught by one of Malleu's guards. Don't they dare think, that young prince just forgot about them. Let's just say that after that... There is a rumour that they got transferred to a different school.

He won't let attacker explain themselves. He doesn't want a word leaving their filthy mouth. Malleus just picks you up and carrys you to the medical staff to check you. Dorm leader doesn't leave your side and if he absolutely has to, he leaves one of his guards (or Lilia if that matters) with you.

Malleus just sits near you. Poor baby is too afraid to touch you, he thinks he'll gring you even more pain, he couldn't even hug you in fear of hurting you!

Malleus isn't the one to be a cry baby but if they're any scares left, he'll cry. It was his fault. You probably got beaten up because you were with him. Please, I beg you, give this boy some love and affection. He needs it even more then before.

Malleus is worried that he didn’t see (Y/N) come outside to meet him. His acute sense of hearing picks up screeching coming from Ramshackle Dorm so he teleports into the lounge of the dorm.

When he hears (Y/N) yelling “Intruder alert!”, he thinks there is someone else that’s bothering them.

He almost uses his magic when he senses someone approaching him with a stick but then he notices it’s Kingscholar’s nephew.

Sebek tells that they were playing a game, Malleus thinks of the games he used to play with Silver as he and Lilia raised him.

Malleus indulges himself in the game too for two reasons: he needs friends and he would play with the nephew to antagonize Kingscholar.

Lilia went to Ramshackle just to play along with them.

Sebek makes fun of how Silver was scared of a kid. They argue a bit until Cheka asks Silver to play with them.

Silver accepts it because he remembers the time he used to play and that they weren’t needed at Diasomnia at the moment since Lilia was with Malleus.

Even though Silver agreed to play, he falls asleep in the middle of the game. Though Jack is against it, the 1st-year squad request Cheka to draw a mustache on Silver’s face and the kid does as they asked which entertained Sebek the most.

He prepared himself to talk with one person not a group! He won’t be able to move or talk until (Y/N) asks everyone to leave the foyer for the moment.

Idia forgets to ask for the manga and he just bolts out of the dorm. He will send his tablet next time.

Chapter 2: Bring on the Mania! Part 1

Sunlight filtered through the windows of Ramshackle and creating a mini spotlight for the two figures on the bed. Grim yawned and nuzzling against the pillow, having the most blissful dream.

"I will become the greatest *yawn* tuna wizard ever."

Valerie peeked inside the room, gushing at the sight of her adorable sleeping companios. She was already dressed and decided for those two sleep in a bit. She took out her phone and snapped a quick pic. Once she placed it back, time for more pressing matters.

"Grim, time to wake up. We have class." 

Howegroaned and turned away from her. The girl pouted, but luckily she had a backup plan.

"Fine, since you won't wake up. I'll just have to eat that premium tuna sandwich that I made for breakfast. I was gonna give it to you, but it looks like I have to eat all four sandwiches."

"NO!" Like a bolt of lightning, he ran downstairs and to the kitchen. Valerie chuckled. She idly made her way downstairs and found Grim hastily stuffing his face.

"Your gonna choke." She commented, he sent her a glare and snapped back a retort, but he ended up choking a bit. She quickly ran to his side and patted his back.  Eventually, he swallowed the rest of his sandwich. He panted heavily and gave the girl a dirty look. She responded with a sheepish smile.

"Eheh. Sorry, Grim."

"You better be! As an apology, you shall buy whatever I want at lunch!"

"Yes. Boss baby."

Grim jumped up and draped himself around her shoulders. She grabbed her stuff, bid the ghosts goodbye, and made her way to school. It's been a week since Valerie last saw Amane. She hoped he was okay and didn't get into trouble. 

Finally, she made her way to Main street where her first-year squad was waiting for her. Ace and Deuce were in the middle of another heated argument, with Jack trying and failing to break them apart. Epel looked like he wanted to join in but restrained himself. Sebek appeared to be looking for someone. He finally spotted her.

"GOOD MORNING, VALERIE!" The other boys winced at his volume but saw her too.

"Fuck Sebek, could you tone it down? My eardrums almost burst." Ace complained as he rubbed his ears.

"Good morning Valerie." Deuce offered her a sweet smile, which she returned.

"Morning, guys."

"You came just in time. I was about to smack their heads." Jack huffed, re-adjusting his bag. Epel waved at her. He blushed when she pecked his cheek, to which the other boys glared at him.

"Let's just go." Ace grumbled as he pulled Valerie away from the lavender haired boy. Lisha flew back to her head. As they walked through the halls, a random student walked up to them, specifically Valerie.

"The headmaster wants you in his office."

Valerie bit back a sigh. It was early in the morning, and the crow had another job for her. Her friends must have sensed her exasperation and offered to go with her.

"You sure? You guys might miss class."

"It's fine, princess, don't worry. Besides, we gotta hold you back in case you kill him." Ace teased. She smiled at that.

They stood in front of Crowley's office. Valerie took a deep breath, mentally preparing herself for whatever bullshit Crowley has in store for her. She knocked. There was a muffled reply but took it as confirmation. Although this is not what she expected...

There stood Amane in all his glory. Dressed in a hot pink off-shoulder pleated blouse with white skinny jeans and a pair of beige suede ankle boots. Around his neck is a black choker with a gold heart and wearing a familiar smirk on his face. On his shoulder was a rusty-barred owl with a black ribbon around it.

Ace and Deuce paled at the sight of him.

"Amane!" She ran to him for a hug, who staggered from the impact but returned the hug. 

"The weirdo is back." Grim groaned.

“Who’s this.” Pointing at the bird.

“Its Lisha, the ribbon around her keeps her on that form.” The incubi answered.

"Okay, but what are you doing here?" She asked.

"I believe I have the answer to your question Ms. Kemonihito" Crowley spoke up. Oh yeah, she forgot about him.

"Mr. Mania, please wait outside with the rest of the first years." 

Ace and Deuce, trying to blend into the background as much a possible, stared bug-eyed at the headmaster. While the rest of their friends were confused about their behavior.

"He can't be THAT bad, can he?" Epel whispered to Jack, who shrugged.  They all stiffen when Amane's eyes fixate on them, and they could see why the Heartslabyul duo is scared of him.

His stare is fierce. Filled with uncontrollable hunger as he stared at their bodies, his gaze lingered at Jack and Sebek. Both were on high alert when they noticed his eyes on them. 

Epel trembled. His gaze was far more intense than Rook's, and honestly, he would prefer his Rook's stare over Amane's any day.

However, Ace and Deuce were praying to the great seven to give them the strength to survive another one of his 'flirtations.'

The heterochromia male gave them a lascivious smile. "Of course. I'm eager to meet her beloved friends." He strutted past them, not before giving them a flirty wink. The boys shuddered but followed him.

As soon as the door shut, Valerie faced Crowley.

"Now, to answer your previous question, Valerie. Mr. Mania would like to spend two days with you." She opened her mouth, but he cut her off.

"Normally, I would not allow this. But Mr. Mania has offered a generous sum of money, as well as advertising for the school to ensure more students enroll next year. So all I ask of you is to keep an eye on him, make sure he stays out of trouble, and not to harass others."

"Considering I never have a say in anything you ask me, I'll do it."

"Fantastic! I have already informed the rest of the teachers of Amane's presence. Aren't I gracious?"

'Graciously annoying.' But she'll keep that tidbit for herself. She excused herself and walked out of the deadbeat's office. However, she didn't expect the state of her friends when she left them with Amane.

Ace, Deuce, and Epel were behind Jack and Sebek. The three of them were shaking, clearly traumatized. Jack and Sebek's faces were red as apples, and their expressions were a mixture of embarrassment and indignance.

"Ehhh... What did we miss?" The boys snapped to attention. Never in their lives that they would be so relieved to hear Grim's voice.

"Valerie! He!... Never in my life that I have met someone so controlled by lust! How do you even manage with him!?" Sebek, at this point, was ready to pull out his pen and blast Amane to the farthest side of the school.

"Awww~ Poor little baby is shy~" Amane giggled, relishing Sebek's flustered face.

"So, what happened? Is he leaving?" Deuce didn't even bother to hide his hopeful expression. The rest of them perk up, silently praying for that to be true. Alas, fate is cruel.

Valerie failed to perceive the look of pure terror on her friends' faces, nor Amane's sadistic delight upon seeing them.

"What? Is that even allowed?" Jack narrowed his eyes, his ears were pulled back, and his tail is pointed straight outwards parallel to the ground.

When the title character Onegin inherits a sizeable fortune from a dead relative, he decides to move from St. Petersburg to the country for a little R&R. There he meets my angel child Vladimir Lensky, Lensky’s fiancee Olga, and her older sister, Tatyana - who is immediately drawn to his sullen bitch boy persona. She confesses her love to him but he says ‘no lady, I’m a bad bitch boy, love isn’t for me!’ and then proceeds to prove it by pretending to seduce Olga.

Lensky, being dumb and poetic, gets in way over his head with this whole ‘honor of his beloved thing’ and Onegin is kind of a big dick about it, which ends with our beloved dummy biting the big one and starting Onegin on a 6 year post I-Killed-My-Boyfriend bender before realizing he actually does believe in love, only to have his love spurned. 

Listen I know I’m making light of an actually great piece of literature(seriously it is actually one of my favorite period pieces Toby has done) but this is how I deal with losing Vladimir Lensky, who I knew for all of twenty minutes but would literally die for.

Watchability: 8.5/10

For me this was actually delightful. Every single one of the main actors is like - fucking fantastic - and their combined talent along with the quality of the actual work is just....it’s nice. I really liked this one. Solid solid solid piece of entertainment. Also every single thing in this film is bloody gorgeous - the people, the costumes, the set, everything. 

Also. Onegin is played by Ralph Fiennes who is in love with Liv Tyler as Tatyana. Toby’s love interest Olga is played by Lena Heady - yeah, Cersei.  Why aren’t you watching this right now?????

A Mother’s Love

An MCxRayvis story.

Odette was waiting for Rayvis at his mansion. She had successfully made another great friend with a famous duke and duchess. Finding another friendly couple in Stein. Since all of Wysteria knew and (almost if not all) adored her. Good relations with the people of Stein are important. Most kingdoms have grown to adore her. Of course she had her people that disliked her, but that was to be expected.

Rook has been running around by her side in the garden. Odette smiled and sat down on a nearby bench. She had a small pouch beside her which confused some as to why. Quietly she sat and enjoyed the gentle breeze and the scent of flowers around her. Suddenly her gaze turned to where Rook, who was now looking more alert, was staring. Smiling she gazed gently upon the young deer. Knowing that a couple of months ago, that fawn lost her beloved parents.

The small deer, which she named Dawn, had approached her hesitantly at first. Then almost kept to her side. Odette giggled and gently petted Dawn. Feeling a trusting bond between them. Then got out a small baby bottle of milk from the pouch. Holding it up in the air as Dawn gently drank. When she was found, the young deer was undernourished so whenever she could, she helped.

After awhile Dawn finished and laid her head on Odette’s lap, laying on its legs and almost asleep. Rook laid down as well since the sunshine was warm was welcoming. Suddenly the sound of a familiar pair of boots was heard approaching. Rook stood up alert with a wagging tail. Careful not to bark and awake Dawn.

Odette’s turned to smile at a very surprised Rayvis. He quickly flashed his gaze from the dawn to her again. She just smiled with a silent giggle. Putting a finger up to her lips as she gestured to the open seat next to her. As he sat down Rook looked up in hopefulness at his master. Rayvis absent-mindedly stroked his ears gently as he sighed heavily.

“Was this meeting difficult today?” Odette’s asked in a gentle voice. He looked into her caring brunette for like eyes and nodded.

“A tad more so than previous meetings.” He responded in his usual calm demeanor. For the past few months the nightwatch has slowly been adding new, young members to the group. Letting the older mentor the young. However as most boys at that age do, they were rebellious. Not majorly so but enough to cause concerns and havoc.

Odette looked down in thought before asking a question. “You have informed me the young boys were rebellious. Might I ask what their home life is like?” Looking up into his gaze she gave him a look of determination. Curious to what was rushing in her mind, he replied.

“Most of them are either from the orphanage living in the nightwatch main house, or have been on their own without much of a family excluding a few friends or mentors.” He saw the flicker of compassion and sadness in her eyes before giving him the look of determination once again.

“If I may, I would request an attendance to your next meeting tomorrow afternoon. I do understand it is rather sudden but, if I may, I might have a theory that, if correct, I can help with.” She saw a certain confusion in his gaze and spoke again before any questions was asked. “Rayvis, I do know what I’m asking. Do I have any experience knowing what you know, apart from what you’ve informed me before? Of course not! But believe me that I know this.

You know before becoming princess elect I taught and tutored young children, boys and girls of that age. I’ve seen many of those eyes full of pain from not having a home, or without any family. The first year I tutored, I let them stay in my classroom. Given then food and board until they found another. I considered a few to be my own.” She paused slightly to stop tears from falling.

“If their is one thing I promised as, not just the princess, but myself was to help children of all kinds. It may started in Wysteria but since I’ve made close friends with all children in all the kingdoms, that dream grew. If I can help in any way I will. I’m not looking for a complete change for all, but an impact... a small miracle. That’s all I can ask for. Not just for myself, but for them.” Breathing deeply she looked away feeling exhausted.

“Let me try a different angle of approach. Please...” she begged almost incoherently. Suddenly an arm wrapped gently around her shoulders and pulled gently against his chest. Feeling his lips on her head she closed her eyes as he stroked her hair.

“As you wish.” He spoke softly smiling. “I should’ve known to ask for your help earlier.”

“Better late than never.” Odette slightly teased as a chuckle came out from his lips.

“You speak the truth my love.” After awhile Dawn stood up and with a gentle deer kiss on her hand, leaped back into the woods. Rook soon took off back inside the mansion, supposedly getting a chess piece. After awhile the two lovers went back inside as well. Enjoying their company as they planned and discussed about their future and each other.
