Just how Important is a Cable Puller?
In a factory setting where lots of lifting will occur, it is important to invest in the necessary equipment in order to maximise workflow. One of the ways in which you can optimise your factory's efficiency is through investing in cable pullers.
What is a Cable Puller?
A cable puller, also known as a wire puller, is a tool used to install cables, wires, or ropes through conduits, ducts, or over long distances in various projects. They come in several forms:
[1] Manual Cable Pullers: These are operated by hand, often using a rachet mechanism. These are suitable for smaller jobs and lighter cables.
[2] Hydraulic Cable Pullers: These use hydraulic power to pull cables, providing greater force and control, which make them suited for heavy-duty jobs.
[3] Electric Cable Pullers: These are powered by electric motors, ideal for continuous and heavy-duty use, as they offer significant power and efficiency.
What Are They Made out of?
They usually have a steel or aluminium frame due to their heigh strength-to-weight ratio. They will alsousually have rubber handles, steel cables, and alloy steel attatchments.
Why Are They Important?
Cable pullers offer numerous benefits for businesses, such as efficiency, safety, and precision. Here are the benefits that make cable pullers important:
[1] Efficiency: They save time by speeding up the process of installing cables, leading to faster completion. They also reduce the need for manual labour, demanding less physicality from workers.
[2] Safety: Cable pullers also reduce the risk of injury caused by mannual lifting, such as strains and sprains.
[3] Precision: They allow for precise control over the tension and speed of the cable being pulled, ensuring accuracy and carefulness.
[4] Versatility: They can be used in a variety of applications, from electrical wiring to telecommunications/data cabling. They can also accomodate various sizes of cables, mking them versatile for many cable lifting tasks.
[5] Consistency: Cable pullers provide consistent pulling force, ensuring uniform installation quality across different sections of the project.
[Bonus] Cost-Effectiveness: They also help reduce the need for extensive labour, lowering overall costs on projects.

Using a hand drill to remove blockages in the sink
Every once in a while, you have a clogged sink that just won't quit. You've tried a coat hanger, a plunger, and maybe a prayer - all to no avail. Before you lose your mind and pour in a (usually ineffective) liquid drain cleaner, reach for the best drain cleaning tool of all: the drain auger. It's inexpensive, easy to use, and requires no chemicals. It's just the thing for clearing clogs in sink and bathtub drains.
Remove the plug from the sink
Remove the stopper from the sink, if necessary. Loosen the set screw on the collar of the drill, pull out the cable and insert it into the drain opening.
Push the cable into the drain
Push the cable down the drain until you feel it hit the clog. Pull the cable out another 30 cm or so and tighten the set screw.
Turn the hand crank of the auger
Slowly turn the crank of the auger. This will turn the corkscrew end of the cable into the blockage.
You may encounter resistance when pushing the cable through the P-trap, the U-shaped section of pipe under the sink, or at another bend in the pipe. If this is the case, tighten the set screw and slowly crank the auger while pushing on the cable. A few turns should help the auger end get through the bends in the drain.
Remove the cable
Pull the cable back out of the drain while inserting it into the drum of the auger. It is also a good idea to wipe the cable with a rag as you push it into the drum. When the end of the cord comes out, remove all debris from the corkscrew tip and throw it in the trash (not back down the drain!). Run hot water from the sink faucet to flush the drain and make sure the water is flowing. If the drain is slow to flow, re-drill the drain.
Remove the trap
Remove the trap to inspect the drain for stubborn clogs. Place a bucket under the trap to catch water leaking from the trap. Loosen the slip nuts on each end of the trap with a pipe wrench or needle nose pliers. Remove the sliding nuts and the trap. Route the drain through the pipe leading to the wall (called the trap arm). Reinstall the trap and flush the drain with hot water from the faucet.

5 Isometric Exercises to Try
Lower back pain is one of the most common muscle-skeletal complain that out of 100 percent US adults there are 80 percent of them are affected. And the other 20 percent of back pain sufferers, symptoms are chronic.
When experiencing lower back pain, exercising is one of the last things most people want to do. But with right exercises it can help to relieve pain and reduce the underlying treatments of it.
5 Isometric Exercises to Try
Dead-lifts
Dead-lifts are one of the best exercises you can do to strengthen your back. However, many people perform them without having first mastered how to perform hip flexion and extension. Instead hinging at the hips, many do bend at the waist when lowering the weight toward the floor. Then to lift the weight back up to the starting position, they engage their low back muscles to straighten their torso instead of using their hamstrings to extend their hips. This causes a great deal of stress on the low back muscles.
Cable Pull Throughs
To complete the exercise, attach a rope handle to the bottom setting of a cable machine, hold an end in each hand and stand in front of the machine. Face away from the machine, so there is tension in the cable and the attachment is between your legs in front of your pelvis. And brace the core with a push in your hips back and allow a slight bend in your knees so that your arms extend through your legs behind you and your torso tips forward. Press through your heels and drive your hips forward to stand back up. All movement should come from your hips.
Stability Ball Squats
Performing squats with an upright torso and your feet extended far out in front of your body can help eliminate the possibility of anterior pelvic tilt while keeping your torso upright. Focus on keeping your back flat as opposed to wrapping it around the ball. And to have a fuller movement, hold that stability ball between yourself and a wall against the top of your hips, and step your feet forward to ensure they are hip- and shoulder-width apart. Then brace your core. Bend your knees and drop straight toward the floor as far as you comfortably can, letting the ball roll its way up to your shoulders. Pause then push through your heels to return to a standing position, letting the ball roll back to your hips.
Reverse Lunge Slides
Strengthen the hamstrings and quadriceps – all of which connect to and help stabilize the pelvis – while avoiding any forward movement and stress to the back. Start the exercise by standing tall with one foot flat on the floor and the ball of the other foot on top of a glider. In an alternative way you can use a towel or a paper plate or anything that will easily slide against the floor with minimal friction. And hold it with sturdy movement with both two hands on the ground. And then brace your core. Slide your lifted foot straight behind you, bending your front knee as you do so to lower into a lunge. Push through your front heel, making sure to keep your front knee stationary throughout the movement.
Actually, lunges are similar to squats in that they use primarily the big muscles in the legs and require the abdominal and low-back muscles to stabilize the upper body during the movement. However, the lunge requires even more core stability due to its single-leg nature.
Plank Pulses
Planks are great exercises to strengthen the deep core muscles when performed properly When the hips sag, this increases the stress on the low back muscles that are trying to keep the spine straight. This exacerbates the back pain the exerciser is already experiencing.
Sagging is a variation prioritizes generating tension through the entire body to decrease the risk of muscle compensations. As an added bonus, holding a plank properly will strengthen your core far more so than will hanging in planks for time.
To complete the plank, First, is to lie down facing the floor and prop your torso up on your forearms so that your shoulders are directly above your elbows. Position your feet together or hip- to shoulder-width apart for extra stability. Clench your hands into fists, lock your knees, squeeze your tailbone altogether and push your forearms into the floor to extend your upper back toward the ceiling. Squeeze your core as if to drag your elbows down to your feet. Your body should feel tight. Hold for five to 10 seconds, squeezing as hard as possible.
And after that you are done. Do these exercises properly and you’ll have a happy back all along.

How to use a toilet auger
When a toilet is clogged, the first thing to do is to use a toilet auger. This tool is similar to a regular plunger used to unclog a sink, tub or shower drain, but it has a center flange that allows you to seal the tool against the drain opening in the toilet. Very often, this tool alone can clear the clog that is causing the problem.
What to do if the plunger does not work?
If a plunger isn't enough to unclog a clogged toilet, the next option is a toilet auger - sometimes called a toilet auger, named after an old term for toilet, the water closet. Like a regular drain snake, the toilet drill has a cord that turns on a handle. However, this tool is designed specifically for toilets and consists of a hollow tube attached to a curved connector covered by a rubber sleeve that protects the toilet bowl from scratches.
While it is possible to clear a toilet clog with an ordinary drain snake, all too often you leave disfiguring scratches on the bottom of the bowl. A drain auger, on the other hand, leaves no scratches on the porcelain of your toilet.
The flexible cable of a drain auger is run through the toilet drain with a hand crank, and the sturdy head of the cable is designed to clear stubborn clogs. For all other work, this tool is not suitable. But considering that toilet clogs are by far the most common plumbing problem you'll encounter, it's a tool worth owning.
Inserting the toilet auger cable
Pull the auger handle all the way up so that the end of the cable is near the bottom curved end of the auger tube. This curved part makes it easier to insert the cable into the toilet, and the rubber or plastic coating protects the toilet from scratches.
Crank the handle to push the cable into the blockage
The toilet auger works like any drain snake by twisting the cable so it moves into the drain opening with a screwing motion. In toilets, most clogs occur in the first section of the drain, the trap, which is built into the porcelain body of the toilet. The toilet auger has enough wire to reach past the toilet, sometimes all the way to the main floor manhole. However, if the clog is beyond that point, such as in the main sewer line, you will need a different solution.
Hold the toilet auger housing with one hand and keep it in place
With your other hand on the handle, crank the auger to carefully move the cable into the toilet drain. Work slowly and patiently, as too much force can cause the cable to pull back on itself instead of moving through the drain.
Crank in one direction until the cable cannot be advanced any further, then switch to the other direction and gradually advance the cable until the handle of the auger is firmly against the top of the auger tube. Rotate the cable a few times when it has reached its full extension. You may feel the cable reach the blockage, as indicated by the resistance.
