Its so fucking funny to me that Dusk is meddling with Imogen's relationship with Laudna for funsies, clearly unaware that she is already this close to losing it at all times. Psychic Cowgirl is wracked by nightmares and holding the lightning equivalent of a shotgun and levelling it at the moon. She is On The Fucking Edge. It would be so incredibly funny if Dusk was fully focused on the Calloway mission only for her to get clocked across the back of the head by Imogen because this bit of meddling went too far.

Laudna: You were asking about all the little weird battery things that Imahara Joe had. We saw those in the Nightmare King's lair, which the guy we're hunting was in cahoots with.

Chetney: Nightmare King is a fey creature. Real fucking crazy looking.

Matt and Erika:

aaaah erika’s a genius and i love what they (and matt) are doing so much??

they’ve introduced dusk as this bubbly, wide-eyed, energetic person who is lost and earnest and up for anything, and it’s really the perfect cover, isn’t it? i mean, now that we know they’re here to target the calloways, every single thing they’ve been doing with the hells is of course colored in a different light, but everything also makes complete sense for the persona they originally presented. 

cozying up to laudna? they’re just friendly and possibly have a crush, they’re not taking an opportunity to exacerbate a conflict! chatting with fearne about the feywild and being nostalgic about chaos? well, obviously there’s a kinship there; it’s not like dusk is interrogating or trying to influence her. taking the lead in almost every conversation (and seriously, they pushed for a bold move during that scene at imahara joe’s so many times)? they’re just excitable and decisive; there’s nothing suspicious about them wanting the BH to enter a death wish race at all!

then there’s also the fact that erika is a guest, and as such, there are certain above-the-table expectations that come with that. like, i could totally be projecting here, but i can see the cast overlooking some mildly suspicious behavior because they’re used to the CR routine when bringing on guest characters. for instance, dusk taking charge in interactions with little pushback makes sense from a storytelling aspect because the character’s (probably) here for a short while and has a time limit on their arc—plus, since erika won’t be at the table for very long, naturally everyone wants them to have as much of a voice in what’s going on as possible. and dusk having basically no memory? sure, it’s a little weird, but it also makes for an interesting plot hook and means the character has a great reason to join up with the first friendly group they come across.

and of course i’m not saying this is meta-gaming; the BH being welcoming lines up perfectly with everyone’s characters/how they act as a group, and i’m sure that if it would make the most sense for a character to be suspicious, they would be (as people have already mentioned, caleb with his stranger danger paranoia sense would’ve been on this shit, and i’m pretty sure someone’s already insight checked dusk but it turned out to be about something innocuous). but the reality is that the cast are all pros at this, and they know how to integrate a new character into the group to move the plot forward, and matt and erika are, like. weaponizing that. goddd i love it so much; i can’t wait for the cast to find out what we know (and it’s SO WILD that they still don’t (unless they’ve been spoiled online or have already filmed the reveal lol))

also, side note: you guys. that complete shift in dusk’s tone of voice, physicality, mannerisms, that smug little head roll that they did when they were speaking with the unseelie court captain? i’m obsessed, erika ishii is a gift
