Once Miss Gwen told him to come over, Buck laced up his boots and trotted up to the dominant's floor. He was wearing a pair of 5.11 pants in navy, black boots and a navy t-shirt, his outfit subconsciously mirroring a summer duty uniform. It looked good with his fair skin and until his pants came off, no one would know he wore hot pink panties underneath. He was kind of looking forward to Miss Gwen finding them and, when he reached her door, he dropped to his knees and knocked, waiting politely for her to let him in.

Sterling and Sunny had spent the day at the beach and decided to go out for ice cream afterwards. They sat outside of the ice cream shop, enjoying their dessert when Sterling looked up and spotted Gwen and her daughter. She didn't know Gwen all that well but she knew she and Harris were together now, and despite that instant worry that things might be awkward between them, Sterling really was so happy for Rhett. "Hi!" She greeted the woman with a smile. "We have room at our table if you want to sit with us."

Carter didn't visit his parents often anymore because he already saw his father on the daily to be in meetings and what not, and he didn't see his mother much anymore because... well, sometimes it was hard seeing her sick. He felt selfish for it sometimes but it was hard. Navigating feelings was hard and life was hard. Carter was aware that Gwen would sometimes visit their mom because Rhett had told him about it, but he hadn't expected to see her there at the same time he was. As Carter was walking down the stairs, he paused when he saw her, his heart stuttering a little bit, mostly out of nerves. "What are you doing here?" His greeting was a bit cold, but it was because Carter was lousy at being anything other than a jerk.

There was something soothing about stacking rocks. She had never thought to do it before, they were just rocks after all, there were so many. Yet the way Unsuur talked about them, they might as well be the most precious things in the world. Maybe they were. Maybe it was everyone else who had their perspective wrong.

Gwen nodded to his statement. "I'd like that." It was easy to get lost in the commissions, fulfilling them one after another with the faint feeling of waiting for something but unable to put her finger on what exactly. "Maybe I can patrol with you."

Wes was on his way home from Neptune when he spotted a little stuffed strawberry cow in the window of the seaglass boutique's baby section. Wes didn't really do any kind of shopping in there but he knew Liza had before. And for whatever reason, spotting that little cow plushie made him immediately think that his daughter would love it. Why? Well, he didn't know but he wanted to get it for her. He walked in and went straight for it, and as he stared down at it, cradling it in his hands he asked the woman beside him, "Is impulsively buying cute stuff for your kids just apart of parenthood?"
