couple more headcanons. even though the model is largely referred to as "henry," i do think we see marie first in the start of the game. the whistling man at the start versus who we know is henry have differences in body language, and there's a decent chance that also reflects their kill styles.

both are theatrical in different ways, marie more playful and light-footed, leaning into being creepy and quiet until she strikes. the pose in the beginning is a bit more closed-in on itself, like she wants the victim to think they might just be seeing things at first until she's more obvious. and the head tilt! i fully want to believe marie taunts her victims by acting a little cute first. "what's the matter, you look like you've seen a ghost," so on so forth, as she does with jason.

at the end of the game, henry is heavy, brutish, and almost immediately makes a point to splay himself out. less stealth and a different kind of playful, still aiming to intimidate but making no effort to be creepy or sneaky about it past the objective of trapping his target in a room. the threat is less dangling over someone until it's too late, and more in-your-face and immediate. with how henry handles maurice and murphy, i think he's more adept at showing and using simple brawn.

tbh i will always be Somewhat Bitter that fates gets praised for "fixing" awakenings enforced heteronormativity by um. uh. letting the player only gay marry either a predatory bisexual guy who is into torture, or. uh. tharja. it's just tharja. and by framing the issue as though the only thing that should be at stake is the player's choice of marriage partner it ignores all the ways in which awakening DOES cover queer attraction (Libra!! Kjelle!!! Sully and Sumia's fucking harvest scramble conversation!!) as well as giving fates a free pass for the homophobia and you will not believe how homophobic fates can be when it wants to be

today had been like any other day for amelia. she had woke miranda, fed her breakfast, took her to school. then the woman had worked her shift at the bank, picked mindy up from school, went home, helped with homework, dinner, got her a bath and put the little girl to bed soon after her bedtime story. it was the same routine the two had every friday. mia had put her daughter to bed a little early tonight due to her grandmother coming to pick her daughter up for the weekend. mia had be single mother for 4 years now. once her boyfriend at the time found out she was pregnant he was quick to abandon ship. amelia did her best and focused on nothing but raising her child at this point. the female had just showered and put her pjs one when she had heard the knock at the door. that was strange. who in the hell would be showing up at her door at- she looked at the clock- midnight?

as she peeked through the peep hole of the front door she had felt her whole entire soul leave her body. literally, the woman had felt like a empty shell standing frozen looking. she had to be imagining things but before she could wrap her head around any of it she opened her door right up. sure enough it was forrest standing right on her front porch of a house they had once called home together. the femme knees felt weak as she used the door frame to hold her up and for a good moment she had just stared at him, unable to form words. for a moment amelia had considered slamming the door right in the man's face but something looked off with him. it was obvious that he was there for a reason and even upset with him she couldn't just leave him outside looking like.. well that. "i- um- why-" she struggled to string together something before it just came out. "what are you doing here?" she asked him feeling it come out a lot harsher than what she had meant it to. "come in before my neighbors thing i am sneaking someone around here." taking a little step back so he could walk around her inside the house. once he was inside mia had shut the door softly and leaned against the door still worried if she moved her legs may give out. "what are you doing here forrest? it is midnight, i haven't heard from you in hear.. i didn't even know if you were ok or alive-" her words came out so fast she wondered if he had even understood all her questions. "why are you here?"
