Charlie was in love with you, drowning in your love, even. He found your pair of e/c eyes and found himself stumbling over his words the whole night at that bar. He couldn't stop looking at you, your smile, your dancing with your friends.

He sat with you in the back corner booth later that night, around midnight, while his friends and your friends were doing their thing. He started small talk that led into laughter, and once the night was over, he didn't want to leave.

"Why don't we do something crazy?" You suggest, merely buzzed unlike all your friends.

"Huh?" He asks, grabbing the last can of beer he was sipping from as he stands up.

"Why don't we talk later?"

He smiles, glancing away for a moment. "Yeah, sure"

You loved him more than anyone else in the world could've loved him, from the quiet times to the loud ones.

You'd watch the sunsets on the porch swing, the sound of the chain links only pulling you two closer. You had his heartstrings tangled, your eyes brought him to his knees, your smile felt like an Earthy Sunday morning in the middle of no where to him.

He loved you more than anything in this life, you were the only thing he needed.

He bragged about you a lot on stream and to his friends, and he understood that you were always too shy to come on camera. He didn't mind, though. You were always out of frame in the corner or in another room listening to him or watching his stream.

But today, something came over you.

You were tired of having your Instagram on private, with him never posting pictures with you in them. You decided to just join his stream and get it over with and meet his fanbase.

It was worth it for everyone at this point, you'd been dating for over a year now, it wasn't that you felt like you owed it to his fans, you wanted to do it for the good of everyone even if it didn't make sense. You wanted to show him off, and he wanted to do the same.

He sits down at his desk, setting up all the screens to how they normally did when he streamed. You sit beside him in a spinny chair, spinning it around while he sets his things up.

He gives you a little smile as you slow the chair down, feeling dizzy. He starts the stream and welcomes his incoming audience with the Stream Starting Soon screen. He looks to you again, making sure you still look up for it.

You give him a happy nod, and after about five minutes, he fades the screen out to the webcam, showing you two sitting together.

You shyly wave while Charlie says hello and introduces you.

"This is Y/n, my partner" He smiles, looking at you to say anything.

"Hi, I'm Y/n." You shyly smile, "We met at a bar"

"Ranboo, my main man," Charlie smiles, "Set me up with them"

The chat explodes with positive comments. Most are complimenting you, others congratulating both of you. It brings a smile to your face, seeing all this support and all these compliments, it was the most you'd seen in your life.

"See? They love you" He chuckles, resting a hand on your shoulder. "This is gonna be a QnA stream, I guess," He looks to you for a moment, like he was looking for approval. "So send us questions!"

You nod, giving a thumbs up, a little nervous. Of course, the nervousness began post-introducing yourself.

"How'd we meet?" Charlie reads, "At a bar. It was me, Ranboo and Sneeg, and I saw them across the bar, fell in love at first sight"

You smile, "Later in the night he joined me in a corner booth and we talked for like, an hour, cause we were both tired but didn't want to leave our friends with no ride home"

"Oh, I would've left them, I stayed for you"

I remember that the first dsmp art of yours that I ever saw was an alliumduo comic of ranboo realizing that he trapped tommy in the prison... it was so haunting and was the first fancontent of the lore that made me go THIS IS AWESOME!! you definitely were one of the artists that made the dsmp feel like there was so much more to it and made me so much more invested 💕💕💕

I remembered this after seeing your new allium duo fanart, and i guess I wanted to ask what your thoughts on alliumduo nowadays are, compared to back when you made that comic, if u want to share. Lots of love! 💖

THANK YOUUU I still rly like that comic tbh .. as for my current day thoughts on c!alliumduo, I think they had so much potential as two teenagers traumatized by the same man but in different ways. C!tommy feeling protective of c!Ranboo when c!wilbur started to sink his hooks in vs. c!Ranboo yelling at c!sam for leaving him in the prison with c!dream…… idk I have a lot of love in my heart for their unspoken solidarity. I also think ranboo The Guy (despite all the many many many many issues with his characters’ story and overall execution) is so aware of the horrors c!tommy went thru (the whole “I think Tommy is just Scared” thing). So this manifests in his character as sympathy for c!Tommy’s helplessness ….. c!Ranboo and c!tommy being so fearful but in starkly contrasting ways (prone to isolation vs prone to angry outbursts) and all the shit with c!clingy vs. c!bee…….. still coming out of it with strong mutual affection and assurance … idk. It feels hopeful in the realistic, messy way. The way that says “someone somewhere will understand you, in spite of the hurdles it takes to let them in.”

Also… C!ranboo helping c!dream in enderwalk to keep c!Tommy in the cell resulting in a canon death, vs c!tommy unknowingly helping c!wilbur essentially orchestrate a canon death for c!ranboo in ho16. They both have been used as tools in the machinations of their respective deaths. C!tommy doesn’t know about enderwalk. C!ranboo doesn’t know the intricacies of c!wilbur and c!dreams deep hooks in c!tommy. I mourn the fact that this was never addressed because i know in my soul that they would have understood each other in a more overt way had they talked about it. C!tommy’s strong loyalty and compassion and c!ranboos nurturing nature outweigh their grief.

I think it would have been beautiful to see victims who hurt each other in the thick of their abuse find solidarity in forgiveness. Not forgiveness for what happened to them, but for each other’s role as a puppet to the real perpetrators of their trauma. It would have helped get the story back on the trajectory of murdering c!dream and casting out c!wilbur, because if they had discussed things with each other and worked through their complex feelings, I KNOW they could have found the words to describe what they went through, and then hopefully take initiative to rally up enough support to take c!d and c!wil down. Sigh…… oh well. Maybe one day I’ll work on another comic about them. I still think it’s a story worth telling.

(Note: I used to see a lot of people use the phrase “trauma bond” to describe c!allium or c!clingy … while I understand what you want it to mean, this is an incorrect way to use this term. A trauma bond is formed between the abused and the abuser. Please read more about it here if you are confused! I really don’t want to see this term misused anymore. It’s very uncomfortable >_<)

In my earliest fics I characterized Tommy as stubbornly unwilling to ask for help and looking back at those fics now I was thinking Where did I get that from?? Tommy asks for help! Despite all his talking himself up as the strongest man ever and all that, one thing he did regularly was desperately reach out to people for support (Technoblade, Ranboo, Tubbo, Puffy, Sam Nook, Sam, Philza, etc!) And then I remembered where I started writing c!Tommy was early-middle of the exile arc, where Tommy refused help at every turn and by the time he realized he needed help it was too late for him to get any. Sam offered, Bad offered, Ranboo showed up on occasion, and Tommy refused them all. He didn’t learn to ask for help until later when he got scared and desperate enough.

C!Tommy headcanons because why not:

-He carries two small satchels around his belt, one for special feed for any animal he comes across, and the other for if something catches his eye: rocks, shells, even small pieces of glass if he thinks it’s shiny enough.

-He has multiple scrapbooks where he keeps pressed flowers inside, plus a description of what kind they are and the meaning of them.

-He used to enjoy playing instruments, but permanent nerve damage to his hands makes it hard for him to play anymore. On a good day, he can still play the piano, but he usually sticks to drumming his fingers against hard surfaces and humming to himself.

-Surprisingly, he is still able to sew pretty well, and is known for stress sewing. Most of the Beloved’s wardrobe is made by him.

-Sometimes he walks up to people, says ‘this is for you,’ places a small animal or trinket in their hand and walks away without another word.

-Ranboo and Tubbo gifted him a ring with their their family emblem engraved in it that he only takes off when gardening. He has one from Phil and Techno that he still keeps on a necklace hidden under his shirt.

-Whenever he starts getting angry, either Ranboo or Techno will pick him up by his sweater collar and he will immediately curl into himself and calm down. He also purrs when he’s happy, but he denies this.

-He’s always fiddling with something in his hands, both because it soothes him and stops him from hitting or scratching himself during a panic attack. He used to chew on his sweater or nails, but Tubbo made him a toy he could chew on without hurting his teeth.

-He never told his friends the extent of his dissociative episodes, and how the length of them have become worrisome or that sometimes he comes back to in dangerous places. He doesn’t dwell much on why his body subconsciously brings him to where he could accidentally slip and fall.

-He kept Wilbur’s old lighter, both to remember him and as a way to strengthen his ��pain tolerance’. Tubbo confiscated it as soon as he found out.

-He finds himself unable to distinguish reality from his own mind more and more often. Limbo completely destroyed his perspectives, and he can be talking to someone one moment then be staring at his wall the next, and is unable to figure out what was real or not.

-Ranboo is the only one he goes to when he feels the urge and/or has already relapsed because he knows Ranboo will just silently support him and not ask questions. Except for the time Ranboo accidentally brushed over one of his brandings and he instinctively lashed out at him. Ranboo was actually the one to give him the idea of drawing pictures on himself instead of harming himself.

-He leaves bouquets of flowers on the doorsteps of everyone on the server. Most of them get annoyed, but never bothered to learn the meaning behind each one. Dream gets some too, but the meaning is always to ‘Go Fuck Yourself’.

-He is the master of the puppy eyes.

Please tell us more about characters assigned rocks 👀

Oh no my trap card! long post time!

Okay, the rocks that I assign to characters depend on a lot of different factors (mostly vibes), am I planning aesthetic matches? eg. rubies and garnets for technoblade? Narrative matches? eg. gypsum for dream? Character matches? vibe or function? eg. feldspar for techno, muscovite for phil? The result is a pile of different rocks assigned to each of my special little guys, some with more uhh tenuous connections than others.

Let's go over the rocks I assigned to the syndicate (+dream) and why:

First up, Technoblade and K-Feldspar:

This is one based mostly off of vibes. It's one of my favorite feldspars and Technoblade is my favorite guy. And orthoclase feldspar, or K-feldspar, is PINK.

But I am nothing if not able to make explanations for things that were initially just based on vibes. Let's look a little beyond, shall we? Feldspars are known for being very structured in the sense that they have two defined cleavage planes at 90 degrees to each other, making rectangular blocks with irregular ends. Techno, to me, is the pillar of support and structure to his friends, so a cleavage pattern that reflects that is fitting. (in contrast, I think Ranboo's character could be represented by obsidian, which is glass-like). Beyond that, feldspar is the most common mineral in the earth's crust, making up about 60% of the crust. In terms of Technoblade, this could represent his impact on the mcyt community, his character's role in driving many major plotlines, or if you like the old immortals hc, a lasting impact on the world throughout history. (If you like the old immortals theory, please consider pairing feldspar techno with olivine philza! Olivine is a green mineral, the most abundant in the upper mantle!)

A couple other notes: K-feldspar is pink because it has iron mixed into it, but it's named for the high concentration of potassium. Potassium is also known for: exploding! Also. It's PINK. But, generally I do tend to associate feldspars with Philza instead of Technoblade, because feldspars are what makes moonstone and labradorite, and I tend to associate moon and star mythos and symbolism with Phil.

Philza and muscovite:

I know I just wrote muscovite, but I was thinking of fuchsite, which is a chromium-rich muscovite!

I can't really put a finger on why I feel that muscovite fits Phil so well, but I think the micas suit him. Maybe it's something about how they used to use Mica to make windows (Muscovy glass, from Moscow, gives muscovite it's name!), and I feel that Philza's builds and character act as windows into rich worldbuilding. Maybe it's something about the fact that micas are made of many many layers and Philza adds a depth to each of his characters (and even literal layers with the colorzas). Muscovite is generally clear and reflective, while biotite micas can be dark enough to be black even in thin sheets. both suit Phil in my opinion, but the inclusion of alluminum in muscovite sometimes gives it a metallic sheen. It can be thin and transparent sheets, but it's still durable and versatile as a material. Maybe that reminded me of how people always see Technoblade as the warrior, but Philza has been known as a survivor for just as long if not longer.

Connor and Ocean Jasper:

I'm going to be honest. I know nothing about this guy.

Ocean jasper is blue. He's blue. What more is there to say?

Ocean jasper, or orbicular jasper, is a pretty rare stone! The main reason I assigned this to C!connor, other than the color, is that from the little I knew of his character, he was still somehow everywhere. That sums up my understanding of jasper pretty well too! It's a silicate mineral, defined more by its crystal structure than its composition, but some people still just call it chalcedony or quartz, and jasper is everywhere with lots of varieties! It reminded me of seeing all of C!connor's appearances with his normal skin and all the time traveler theories. The same Connor under different names, the same quartz under different names.

Niki Nihachu and Rhodochrosite:

This is the one I feel fits the best, actually! Yes I did initially think of it because it's pink, but Rhodochrosite is an extremely cool mineral and I think the fact that people think of it as "just pink" reflects perception of Niki's character compared to her true depth.

Just look at the versatility of it! From crystals to roses to speleothems. Rhodochrosite has been used for manganese, which is used in steel and aluminum alloy production, or to concentrate silver. In both cases the process is destructive and creates a lot of byproducts, which reminded me of the hurt caused to C!Niki through the revolution, and the way she was spoken over and ignored after. Another aspect of rhodochrosite is that it generally forms in hydrothermal veins. High pressure formation conditions to create this beautiful mineral reflect, to me, Niki's arc of finding herself again.

Ranboo and Snowflake Obsidian:

I think any obsidian fit's C!Ranboo well, but you know I had to choose snowflake obsidian because it's black and white.

Ranboo's fragmented memory made me think that a fracturing material would be a good fit, and obsidian has the properties of glass. It is also not lost on me that obsidian forms when magma or lava hit water. However, snowflake obsidian forms through the process of devitrification (vitri-, like vitreous, meaning glass-like), where glasslike substances become crystalline. The white material is cristobalite, a silicate material that forms at high temperatures. What this means is that snowflake obsidian is not as glass-like as other types of obsidian, just as Ranboo's memory loss is not exactly what it first appears to be either.

Dream and Gypsum:

Gypsum, in some forms called selenite, is a pretty well-known mineral. However, many of the forms are known under different names so people do not realize that they are all the same mineral.

Gypsum can form roses, clear selenite, reflective satin spar, the sands of white dunes, rock, crystals, and more. It's used in construction, to make chalk, to make buildings, to analyze mineral thin sections, to measure hardness on the Mohs scale, and to charge crystals by those that believe in spiritual properties of minerals. I see these many different forms as parallels to Dream's many faces on the server, real and perceived. Many different names given to different forms of the same person. I think the many used of gypsum also reflect the perception of Dream by the rest of the server. Gypsum is attributed power by some (is Dream the most powerful villian on the server?) and use by geologists and builders (Is Dream a way to get the revival book? Is he an ally?), but one of the main qualities is that it has a very low hardness, and is very easily broken. Is the role and name assigned to Dream, by others and by himself, more than he can fulfill without breaking?

Random little thing about the c!dsmp, from the perspective of a writer!

(Please note: THIS IS ABOUT THE MEDIA/ROLEPLAY! I do not support any problematic content creator involved. I am treating all individuals named in this post as their respective characters.)

I know the dsmp is over and it lives on through fandom content. But one thing that kinda irks me a little is the people who say "c!Ranboo is the protagonist" and leave it at that, and keep it that simple--well, they interest me more than anything else.

Listen. Maybe he was meant to be the protagonist. Maybe he wasn't. But one thing I do know is that one thing that made the dsmp unique is that there really wasn't any main character. Sure, there were some characters that were more side characters than others, and some characters who were the main players, but ultimately there really wasn't any main character in the lore to begin with! Everything just happened by itself and I can even suffice to say that, if there was an mc, it may have changed from arc to arc. It can all be based on interpretation, honestly. That said, if there WAS a singular mc throughout every single arc, it wasn't Ranboo. Yes, while a lot of main character jokes were made and he had a lot of close encounters with c!Dream, but from an outside narrative perspective it definitely isn't him. He wasn't even present in the smp for the first few arcs! If it's anyone, it's c!Tommy. c!Tommy is LITERALLY the character that started it all and was the person who turned the dsmp from "funny random server that we made during quarantine because we're bored" to " lore filled epic of massive proportions". Everything started when HE joined, and most of the arcs happen because of him. "But Iri, isn't it the same/ similar with c!Dream?" That's different, actually--c!Dream gives c!Tommy an obstacle. He antagonizes him and bounces off of him and consequently the rest of the server. No matter what arc it is, c!Tommy is almost always in the middle of it all. He's always caught in the crossfire and strongly related to the current arc. While other characters may be focused on for certain arcs and get more of the spotlight sometimes, it all ultimately circles back to him. As a writer, THAT'S what a main character looks like to me.

C!Tommy was pretty clearly the main character, if there was any at all. As much as I love c!Ranboo, he really doesn't qualify to me! As for c!Tommy's actions, Tommy isn't a hero but he isn't quite a villain either. Every character in the dsmp is very grey (phenomenally so). But Tommy is at the center of the plot. And the way he IS, his personality, and his arc, fundamentally reflects the nature of the dsmp as a whole, how his chaotic innocence turned into bleak cynicism with extremely careful optimism. He's affected by almost every major arc in the plot, and experiences the brunt of the conflict across the server. He was the one who initially owned the disc's. He's directly related to the man who blew up l'manburg, the blood god himself, and a personal enemy of the literal god of the server who is chasing him for his disc's--his disc's literally started a whole war. He IS the reason that the server is the way it is.

That said, the perception of who the protagonist is could differ depending on the viewer. Specifically, I'm talking about the exact medium of the dsmp. It's via roleplay in live twitch streams--as such, depending on how you first experienced any given event, and from what perspective you quite literally watched it through (i.e., Ranboo's streams, Tommy's streams, Punz' streams), you might view the dsmp very differently and understand the plot and its innerworkings with various nuances. I personally bounced between content creators and gave a lot of different ones the time of day, and watched a lot of clips, so I have somewhat of a detached view of it-- however, it can easily differ to other people.

I'd absolutely love to hear you guys' interpretation on who may have been the protagonist, who could've been the antagonist, who were the main characters, who were heroes, and who were villains, and more. In fact, I'd love to hear your opinions in the replies. That being said, this is all my two cents from a narrative perspective.

notes; hello! I’ve been wanting to do this for a while so I thought I’d finally share my thoughts! I hope you all enjoy! And I sadly don’t know who drew the fanart but once I do I will credit them!

Just some warnings for the hc’s; mentions of meltdowns, being embarrassed of agere/not comfortable, and techno is mentioned.

hc’s under the cut!

- he first realized he regressed after his exile. After everything was done and he could relax a bit, he found himself slowly slipping when things got to hard and into a state he didn’t know he could go into. Yet he wasn’t complaining.

- he found out what it was from ghost boo, since ranboo used to do it all the time as well. (Hint to next post-). So after he found out what it was, he looked more into it.

- he figured it was from everything he’s been through since L’manberg. His trauma from it all, his deaths, dreams control, the betrayal of everyone. It all made sense. He still found it scary. He was scared of people knowing about this, scared what they might think. Scared of his own mind and that his life has been so bad he resorts to a little mindset to feel slightly better. It was scary and embarrassing in his eyes. He realized he couldn’t be the big man he wanted to be.

- after a while he came to terms with it. He started to feel more comfortable when he did and the thought didn’t make him so insecure when he thought about it. He was ok with it and if it helped him, it helped him. Everyone he told was supportive about it, and he felt accepted.

- his little age is 2-5 and he likes teethers. Not a huge fan of pacis but if someone gifts him one he will gladly wear it. But does prefer teethers.

- has a blue sippy with cows on it that Niki made him. He loves it so much!

-Tom talks! He is a little talker. He babbles and laughs all the time. He’s super energetic and happy when little and just so fun to watch over.

- loves watching cartoons and playing small games. Calms him down and makes him sleepy sometimes. He will color but not all the time.

- he doesn’t have a full time cg, so Phil, tech and Wil (pretend he’s sane) take turns watching him and being his cg!

- loves music! Lord he loves it!

- cuddles are a must with him. When he’s little, he’s little and needs cuddles.

- when toms a bit older in his little age like 4-5, he climbs trees! Makes Phil scared sometimes but he comes back just as ok he was when he went up. He just likes being up there and playing pretend.

-when Tom regresses from something bad triggering him, he usually has a breakdown and wants comfort and love. To know that nothing will happen to him again as long as he has his cg.

- wil always asks to take care of him as his brother. He thinks it’s a good way to get his trust back and be there for his baby brother when needed.

- lastly! Tom loves playing with friends! If anyone else regresses in the smp, he will have play dates with them!

A recent post in the mumbo jumbo tag has me thinking abt my old dsmp x hermitcraft au from like. 2-3 years ago so here's some 4am rambles abt it!!! Reminder that it's c! not cc! yada yada you get it

Grian being Tommy is a given. Like they're an inch away from being the same person. It's so obvious. Grian is a generally very confident guy, though it's mostly a façade and he's pretty easily broken if you do/say the right things.

Mumbo fits pretty easily into Wilbur's role - not for any real reason, but I also fully believe Mumbo has the capability to go from definitely not a drug van to blowing up said drug van in the name of "captain goes down with his ship" because if he can't have it no one can

To continue with sbi I kind of struggled on who would be Techno, but then. Doc. Because who else??? I fully believe Doc would find some way to automate netherrite mining to make enough gear for an army (however small it may be.) Also the image of him kind of being brothers with Mumbo and Grian is so funny. Doc would 100% support Mumbo going on a villain arc and would also summon a wither while waxing poetic about heroes and villains and how everyone but him is kinda the bad guy because. That's kinda what he already does??

Scar. Scar is hard because I really like the image of him being Schlatt as a reference to s7, but I think he works better as Tubbo. Scar is underestimated imo, and I think Tubbo's whole arc meshes really well with Scar as a character. Also the tragedy in the "who am I without you?" "yourself." Really fits Grian and Scar??

I still haven't figured out Ranboo so. If anyone has any suggestions please lmk.

For Phil I think Xisuma really helps round out sbi. Again not for any real reason - out of everyone I've mentioned so far, I know the least about Xisuma - but I am feral for the very familial bond he and Mumbo seem to have and. Well.

I really like Cub as Quackity. It started when Scar was originally Schlatt as a reference to Convex, but I can totally see Cub in Quackity's casino arc. Otherwise I don't know a lot about him so if anyone has a better idea lmk!!

Pearl is Niki. Given the life series, I can totally see Pearl getting super attached to L'manburg, then feeling utterly betrayed by it and burning down the tree but she secretly never stopped caring about it. She's already lost her life for that country, and she's willing to die for it again, even if that country died alongside her in that control room. Unfortunately I still don't have anyone for Eret/Jack :(

Getting a little off topic, I think Ren would make a good Sam. I believe wholeheartedly that whatever lore Ren has going on that he would do a story where he literally is just Sam. Ren is another character I don't know too much about so again if there's any other suggestions. You get it.

I think that's everything I have so far tbh. I've been pacing in circles trying to figure out who would be Dream and I think figuring him out would help the whole rest of the au but. Yeah. Again suggestions are very much appreciated because this was originally a crack au when I first got into hermitcraft right after my dsmp hyperfixation lol

Quackity and his small team of dudes (las Nevadas+ clingy duo) are trying to prove that there are vampires in the town but no one believes them. Wil here has been snoozing since the 1800's in an attic until someone woke him up. So far he convinced everyone that he's just goth.

(Techno, Ranboo, and Niki are vampires too, but they've "stayed awake" since they've turned.)

i've actually thought about this particular au before and there's a lot of ways you could do it. part of me thinks it'd just be really funny if c!quackity was in the role of gaston because of his weird one-sided thing for techno, y'know? it makes sense, especially he whips up a mob against dream.

but yeah! this is definitely something i've considered.

i want to stick them in a bottle and shake it. they loved each other for the fantasy they could provide: of safety, security, someone who couldn't leave, proof you could help another person, the escapism of being loved. they were scared of each other. the empty mansion

they were scared of each other ohhhhhh you get it. I think escapism is great word to describe c!beeduo’s relationship.

(rest below the cut because for the love of everything I can’t shut up)

Do I think they found genuine comfort and companionship in each other? At times yes. But I think the more they began memorializing those feelings in marriage (/p or /r, though I especially like this particular read with a /r flavor) the further they got from the feelings themselves. I think despite Tubbo’s character being very blunt at times and seemingly not filtering his thoughts before he speaks them, both he and Ranboo suffered deeply from avoidance as a coping mechanism and poor communication full of half-truths.

Neither of these characters are comfortable with discomfort. While Ranboo grows throughout the story enough to show us that they can bloom out of their need to please and mediate at all times—i.e. the sass & attitude they are able to show with people like Techno, Phil, and even Tubbo, the assertiveness they are able to show in defense of their friends transforming into assertiveness for themself as well, etc.—they are still prone to switch back to their people-pleasing tendencies when faced with uncertainty.

Similarly, while Tubbo did not start out on the server as a people-pleaser, he had to learn to be one once he served under Schlatt, had to learn to de-escalate, to mediate, and to be attuned to an abuser's cues to follow them, and attuned to their triggers to avoid them. The same could be said of his time away from Manberg having to navigate Wilbur's emotional state in Pogtopia with Tommy, though he encountered this less often. With his time under Schlatt culminating in the ultimate consequence of a canon death for his grievances, Tubbo has never really been able to shake this habit off.

When he is appointed as president of New L'Manberg, the stakes only seem to get higher for him, as he has to apply the survival skills he learned as an abuse victim in a diplomatic setting. He is a cautious leader, aiming first and foremost to avoid involving NLM in any conflicts, but sometimes ignoring real issues as a result until they boil over into something he can no longer control. At the same time, he develops an ability to be commanding when necessary, has to learn as a leader that sometimes he will make choices that no one else agrees with, and he will need to be able to exert a level of control over his people that ensures they follow his lead even when they disagree. He has to convince his peers, his elders, to respect him, and must learn a cold and demanding tone that will show his peers he is not just the carefree kid to be walked all over that he once was.

And this is the Tubbo that Ranboo meets for the first time. Ranboo comes to the SMP without any knowledge of the history of the place, of the carnage that has only just passed for every character in one way or another. In a time where all of Tubbo’s relationships have become complicated by their history, Ranboo is a clean slate. Furthermore, they are a clean slate that listens. Ranboo allows Tubbo to define his new self to them without pre-existing expectations. Similarly, Tubbo is someone that acts as a perfect welcome point for Ranboo to the server. They formed bonds with several people on the server, many of which, while supportive, were ultimately preoccupied with actively unfolding personal dramas. His bond with Tubbo worked out especially well, as not only was Tubbo around his age, but he had several reasons to remain as a point of stability. He could not move geographically as the president of NLM. He could not make any rash decisions or else the nation would face the consequences.

Ranboo became immediately involved in the NLM space, and with his growing acquaintanceship with Tubbo decided to run as his rival in presidential candidate. Although Tubbo was sure to win at this point, having someone who was ultimately proving to be in his corner as a ‘rival’ was incredibly refreshing and reassuring.

For Tubbo, Ranboo was a new and constant reminder that he didn’t need to do this alone. For Ranboo, Tubbo was a charming and competent but clearly troubled peer that he wanted to support and learn more about.

It’s at this point when they are growing their closest that Ranboo really starts running into steeper issues with his memory loss and fears of hurting his friends during his blackouts. When his memory book is revealed to Tubbo at the Green Festival, Tubbo defends Ranboo against both Dream’s accusations and later Quackity’s suggestion that Ranboo be executed as a traitor. After agonizing for so long about what his peers would think of him if they knew about his blackouts, Ranboo learns just as Tubbo did that Tubbo is in their corner too, and they don’t have to face this alone.

Where Ranboo was able to help Tubbo through his presidency, Tubbo wants to help Ranboo too. Tubbo offers to help with his memory issues but doesn’t go about it in a way that Ranboo is receptive to. It’s also by this point that doomsday has passed, NLM is gone, Dream is imprisoned, Snowchester is built. Finally the constant worry of the worst is over—the worst has happened. They have moved away from politics, for better or worse. Dream is out of the immediate picture for better or worse. This should be the time where beeduo can finally thrive in peace together.

However, being out of a space where survival is the first thing on the mind at all times, both Tubbo and Ranboo are left with themselves to face. For Tubbo, this means years of trauma that he has truly yet to unpack. They find even moreso that Tubbo is prone to shutting down, to chasing distractions, to starting projects rather than facing his pain. Ranboo, as much as a support he has tried to be, has also found that he might rather address his memory problems on his own, not seeing eye to eye with Tubbo on how to handle them, and finding support outside of Tubbo alone (read: the syndicate).

Ranboo and Tubbo at this point have become more openly affectionate towards each other, in words and in gestures, but the core of what began their bond seems to grow more distant. They still find satisfaction with each other, but things seem least complicated when they don’t talk about their real issues, things are most comfortable when they simply build their ideal life, live new adventures without facing their pasts or presents too closely.

When Tommy dies in the prison, it’s like the final nail in the coffin. Tubbo is beyond any point of seriously sitting with his emotions for too long, but this breaks over a line not previously crossed. Tubbo is forced again to face his profound loss of control over the things in his life. He needs something permanent, he needs something ensured.

Ranboo is drowning in guilt, in fear of his continued involvement of what may have contributed to Tommy’s death. He is afraid and he is distraught and he still has Tubbo.

He and Tubbo get married at truly their lowest moment in a while. This is great as a pick me up. Again there’s that reassurance that at the end of the day they’re in each other’s corners, but now they are not communicating their problems like they used to. They are both painfully aware of this too. But increasingly there is a concern that if they dig deep enough into each other’s heads and hearts things will fall apart between them. And neither of them can handle that.

I think to a degree Ranboo is almost more afraid that Tubbo will fall apart than he is of their relationship crumbling should things go poorly between them. While Ranboo has been able to grow his support system, Tubbo has not. Sure he has Quackity and Jack, but Tubbo does not take the opportunity to lean on and develop his relationship with Quackity any further than Quackity initiates, and really Tubbo’s relationship with Jack is one that enables his paranoid coping mechanisms. At most Jack acts as both an architect and a guard rail to Tubbo’s kill switch.

Bee Duo adopts Michael, and it’s the perfect way to put genuine truth and love into something shared without having to face each other. In some ways, Michael did help them to face each other, but it’s hard to say this could really be enough with how little time left they had together. The mansion is built. Tubbo lives in Snowchester. Ranboo only sometimes. Beeduo looks at this mansion and says here is a permanent place where we can all stay. Maybe Ranboo will even move in here full-time instead of keeping all his things in the arctic commune. Maybe. Probably not. Be he could! As long as steps are always being taken towards the ideal they’ve never truly lost it. But if they were ever to settle into this perfect family home, they will have to truly face their imperfect lives.

The worst part of it is, being imperfect is actually perfectly okay. Falling apart is expected and honestly needs to happen before they can truly be there for each other again. But they are both so afraid. They need this to be the one thing they don’t give the chance to fail. They will always have each other as long as they never do. Their marriage and their family and their forever home.

Extra headcanons to give the characters more depth.

SBI is canon: wilbur came out as pansexual to tommy and techno in the pogtopia arc, wilbur came out to phil via letters during the pogtopia arc. wilbur came out as bigender after he was revived (to everyone on the smp because he wanted people to use the correct pronouns for her.) tommy came out originally to phil, wilbur, and techno as bisexual before the dsmp but later figured out he was a biromantic demisexual when he first joined dsmp (and of course told phil, techno, wilbur, and tubbo). techno casually came out as aroace to phil, tommy, and wilbur, when they were all sat around at the diner table before they joined dsmp. Also of course everyone was accepting. Wilbur and tommy have wings, but tommy lost his during exile because dream cut them off so he couldn't run away (im sorry for the angst but oh well) and wilbur never lost his. (And the reason you cant see wilbur's wings in my fanart of him of a long time ago is because one: im lazy and its hard to draw wings, and two: he can retract his wings in his back)

Jack is a robot/cyborg: I personally like the idea of jack being a cyborg/robot, probably because im a fnaf fan, I also like to think that niki made him and thats why they were so close (before the smp he came out as trans to niki and she supported him of course) I also like the idea that he looked really human but because of his canon deaths his skin was damaged so you could see the robotic side of him, Also if you cant remember his first canon death was by wilbur, he was burned to death by him and I like to think the fire damaged the skin on his arm and thats how everyone found out he was a cyborg, his second canon death was by tommy on accident, tommy pushed jack in the lava in the nether and from that, thats why you can see his right side all robotic like because the lava burned his skin off. He also came out as bisexual to niki before the smp. (Also can people stop sleeping on jacks character because he is literally one of the coolest characters.) Also his third canon death was by techno, he and techno were having a dual during doomsday, and because of that he lost his right eye and had to tell niki to make another one, of which looked really robotic because she didn't have the resources to make a human looking eye. Jack also went to hell and had to complete different challenges to be revived which is canon btw. (And sense he didn't get revived by the revive book, I dont think he would have a white streak in his hair, and i know that jack doesn't have hair but you can still dye it, take irl billzo for example)

Tubbo's related to schlatt: I like to think that schlatt is c!tubbo's biological dad because both of them are ram/goats, and that schlatt thought he was straight, (thats why tubbo is schlatt's son even tho I headcanon schlatt to be gay) schlatt was also homophobic and transphobic and thats why tubbo when he was 15 he ran away from home (because he told schlatt he was gay and trans but schlatt didn't except him, tho later on schlatt was more accepting of him and actually used the right pronouns and stuff) later on phil found tubbo in a box and basically adopted him, also something cute I'd like to add to the clingyduo headcanon is that tubbo before he met tommy wore a green handkerchief while tommy wore a red handkerchief but when they met and became friends they switched their handkerchiefs so even when their far away from each other they would still remember each other😊.

Lazer, vikk, corpse, pokimane, lilnas x, ninja, ksi and Michaelmcchill will be excluded from this because they logged on there like once. And for anyone wondering AMAB means a person that was born male; AFAB means a person that was born female; AIAB means a person that was born intersex. I chose a question mark for c!Callahan's AGAB because we basically know nothing about their character and their irl self.
