Please a Drew and reader. They are in the dating faze getting to know each other. However Drew is having some trouble getting to know her. Reader has been in a quite toxic relationship before with a guy that could be mean, did not like when she was being physically loving (holding hands, kissing, hugging) brushing her off literally and could sometimes make her feel like she was being a burden whenever she was talking, which in turn has made her not open up to much, in fear, that she will come off as annoying. When they are having a date at home, Drew pulls her close to hold her and kiss her forehead, but she pulls away after awhile. He then brings up what has been bothering him, afraid, sad and a bit nervous that she does not like him as much as he likes her.
you can trust me — DREW STARKEY

authors note hi baby! thank you for the request and sorry it came so late when you initially requested. life has been crazy since my semester has begun.
REQUEST— open
summary holding back when it comes to physical touch and being your complete self in a new relationship with someone new.
warning(s) mentions of past toxic relationships, insecurities, questioning self-worth.
Tumblr media
Drew and you have been seeing each other for almost a month. You haven't felt so happy in a long time to be with someone that values, supports, and loves you for who you are.
Meeting him was unexpected but came into your life when you needed him the most. Drew is very gentle with you and patient in ways you couldn't describe.
Drew has noticed that you are reluctant to touch him and quickly pull away or get nervous before taking his hand. This is something he has noticed about you as you have spent more time with him. He wants to know why you're like this but wants you to be comfortable.
Both are getting to know one other. You haven't gathered the guts to discuss your previous relationship with your ex, who treated you like dirt and never wanted you to touch him. Whether it be holding hands, kissing, embracing, or any other physical contact.
Physical touch is a part of your love language. So being pushed away from someone you care about while attempting to express your feelings for them makes you feel burdened.
Your ex ruined you in a lot of ways.
Once you met Drew, immediately knowing you can be yourself with him without him retaliating. But, you haven't showed him that side of you yet because of your past.
Drew invited you to his apartment for dinner tonight and prepared your favorite pasta dish. He understands you've had a difficult week at work, so he thought inviting you over for dinner would cheer you up.
"Thank you for dinner, Drew; it was delicious," you say, smiling sweetly as you finish your pasta.
"I really appreciate that, Y/N," he says with a smile. "I'm always open to making you dinner."
He’s so sweet
Drew and you cleaned the kitchen before heading to the living room to watch a movie to end the night. He thought it would be good to bring out the food and drinks while you waited on the couch.
"What movie do you wanna watch?" With the TV remote in his left hand while looking at the movie selections.
"Uhh pitch perfect" you reply.
Drew nods in agreement, clicking the movie.
Drew tries to wrap his right arm around your shoulder and kiss you on the forehead halfway through the film, but you pull away hesitantly.
"Everything alright, Y/N?" he frowns with emotion and confusion, "did I do something wrong?"
Your heart fell as the question hovered there. You had been sensing this for days, even weeks, so you knew it was coming. But now that it was here, you were at a loss for words, unable to respond or justify it without driving him away.
When you eventually raised your head to meet his, you could feel the sorrow in his eyes, which tightened your chest. Your voice was barely heard as you murmured, "No, you didn't do anything wrong."
Everything in you was crumbling all together.
"Then why?" With a hand sweeping through his hair, he trailed off, unsure of how to carry on. "Why are you putting distance between us? Are you —? When he began again, you could hear his hesitation and fragility in his voice. "Do you not like me as much as I like you?"
Please don't say that
His words punched you in the gut— hitting you so deep. This wasn't fair to him what so ever. You like him as much as he likes you. Feelings are mutual.
"It's not that," you answered hastily, your voice shaking as you tried to fight back the tears that were about to fall. Yes, Drew, I do like you. Many times.
"So why," He asked. Seeking answers, he gazed at you, his eyes darting over yours. "What makes me think that you're scared to let me in?"
Fiddling with your fingers, trying to gather the words to say. You took a deep breath, gathering your courage. Drew knows about your last relationship but not the whole gist.
“I’ve been hurt before,” you began, your voice trembling. “My last relationship… it wasn’t good. He made me feel like I was too much, like I was annoying whenever I tried to talk or show affection. He’d brush me off, make me feel like I was a burden. And I guess… I guess I’m afraid of that happening again.”
Drew's expression softens with hurt, anger, and confusion. He continues to let you speak while holding your hands in reassurance—thumb gently circling over your knuckles. You can't help but let a few tears as you speak.
"I'm so sorry you went through that."
"It's not your fault. I've gotten so used to holding everything in, I didnt want you to think of me differently and walk away from me" you confess with your chest.
Drew's other hand reached up to softly cup your cheek and use his thumb to wipe away the tears while his grip on your hand tightened. He said, "You're not going to drive me away," and you might believe him because of the quiet passion in his voice.
"Y/N, I like you just the way you are. I was immediately drawn to your lovely demeanor and am still doing so now. Nothing you are doing is wrong. His eyes never leaving yours, "We can take this at any pace you want and I'll still be here."
You feel a sense of relief fall off your shoulders. The fear you've been holding back slowly drifts away.
"I want you to show how much you like me whether that be words or physical touch. I would never pull you away."
You didn't push away as he moved in to give you a soft kiss on the forehead. For the first time in a long time, you felt as though maybe—just maybe—you could begin to lower your barriers as you allowed yourself to lean into him and experience the warmth and security of his embrace.

So I noticed something when I was looking at how Izuku smiled at Katsuki...something about it just seemed familiar and I couldn't put my finger on what it was.
Until NOW
Like the way his smile just looks so fond, it's different than how he usually smiles at other people. There's just something about it that just screams that it's the look of love to me. But I couldn't really explain it or compare it to anything else before.
Well now I finally put two and two together and realized what it reminded me of...THIS MF
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The way he looks at Marinette, he was so obviously in love with her, like can y'all see it too? The way his eyebrows relax and scrunch upwards, that fond smile.. IT'S LITERALLY THE SAME
I think generally animators have similar ways to show expressions, and this fondness, this genuine awe is something that I have also seen quite a lot of times before. That smile and that expression that you hold for the person that means so much more to you than anyone else, who you genuinely love from the bottom of your heart because they've shown a side to life and feelings that you never knew before. That smile is reserved for the person who your life wouldn't be the same without.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And his small laugh here ahhhyhshxhsjsj
It's such a sweet laugh like how Adrien laughs at Marinette too because he finds her awkwardness sweet.
Tumblr media
And when you look at the parallels, it's so obvious. Like the moment Cat Noir realized he was in love with Ladybug as he looked up at her in awe:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And Katsuki's proud smile as he was looking up at Deku:
Tumblr media
Then there's the fact that they both blindly trust each other because they know that the other would always win and save the other, no matter what:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even Cat Noir sacrificed himself so much in the past for Ladybug to win, because he knew she'd always win..just like how Bakugo sacrificed himself for Izuku because he knew he'd never give up
Tumblr media
"You know I like to fight by your side. But against you? Never"
"I could never hurt the person I love"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But that's not all. Remember the APOLOGY scene IN THE RAIN when Marinette fell in love with Adrien?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah, now look at the Bakudeku version of it. The fact that Adrien and Bakugo both opened up and apologized and both of it happened in the rain..and look at Izuku's reaction to the apology. You can't tell me that he didn't fall in love a little at that moment just like how Marinette did. It's literally the same minus all the blushing and the smiling.
Tumblr media
Want more? Well, here's Season 4 ending when Cat Noir reached his hand out to Ladybug, giving her back the hope after she has already lost all of it. Showing her that they can still do it, together. That she hasn't lost everything as long as he's still there. Reminds you of something?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then as they look out at the distance with newfound hope...just like how Bakugo and Deku did at the cliff in that one Memories episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There are literally SO MANY parallels between them, and this is a CANON COUPLE that we are talking about, who are CANONICALLY IN LOVE. This is NOT a coincidence. Even if these are not meant to be parallels, the fact that they are so similar means that their dynamic, their relationship is very similar. So if we took bkdk in Miraculous context, then they'd be a couple. If there was even a tiny bit of flirting between them, it would be undeniable. In Miraculous, they are meant to be a couple, so it's obviously portrayed in their interactions that there is something between them. In MHA however, they are not specifically made to be canon, but their dynamic is essentially the same. They are the person that they trust the most, they rely on each other, trust each other with their life. They have no doubt in the other, they know that the other would always win. Their life wouldn't be the same without the other. They're Yin and Yang, just like Marinette and Adrien. The Sun and Moon.
Bonus:
The way she holds Cat Noir's tail reminds me a lot of how Izuku was holding Bakugo's tie lmao
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When their eyes meet
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ladybug getting angry at the villain for hurting Cat Noir like Deku losing it when Bakugo gets hurt

labyrinth | percy jackson
ღ percy jackson x daughter of hypnos! reader ღ warnings: none! ღ wc: 588 pt 1 - pt 2 - pt 3 - pt 4 -pt 6 - pt 7
Remember how I told you a certain daughter of Hypnos was terrified to meet her best friend’s family?
Yeah, well.
Emphasis on was.
After waking up, she half-expected to face an interrogation. You know, the typical ‘Who are your parents?’, ‘Where are you from?’, ‘Are you planning on turning my son into a criminal?’ and all of that.
But instead, she was met with a plate of blue pancakes, the scent of salt air, and a pair of big green eyes filled with curiosity looking at her.
Percy was nowhere around, but both Sally and Estelle were close by,  making sure the girl was settling in well. It didn’t take long before the girl felt very comfortable, joking with Percy’s family as they prepared dinner together.
They were just like him; welcoming, funny, caring. Her smile never faded; the overwhelming sense in that home was undeniable, but it felt like a good kind of overwhelming.
"And then he fell! Right on his face!" Sally said with a chuckle, recounting stories of her son’s childhood. The girl could only laugh along –Percy hadn’t changed much over the years.
At their feet, Estelle was making the impossible to get their attention, handing them random toys and pulling their shirts.
“I was so worried, I thought he’d be disfigured forever!"
“I mean…”
“Estelle!” Percy’s voice rang out suddenly from the kitchen. He was standing in the doorway, grocery bags on his shoulder. He rushed toward his sister, leaving the stuff on the floor and lifting the little one high above his head. “Mom, I found our dinner! Prepare the oven!”
All Hypno’s daughter could do was watch the familiar scene unfold before her eyes. She was well aware that Percy was good with children; at camp, everyone looked up to him, not just as an example to follow, but as someone they could trust.
She then noticed how pretty Percy’s hair looked, even when it was messy from his sister’s tugging. The way he locked eyes with her for the smallest second, as if to make sure she was laughing even though his back was in pain. How his pretty green eyes wrinkled when he smiled at her even.
She saw a small dimple on his cheek that she had never noticed, at least not so closely. She realized that Percy had her mom’s smile.
Percy’s smile was her favorite, how could she not-?
Uh, oh.
Her mind went completely blank.
Or, not quite; every thought that came to her was of Percy. Percy in his armor, Percy laughing with her, Percy bickering with a camper, Percy staring at her, Percy asleep, Percy talking, Percy…
Percy. Percy. Percy. Percy. Percy. Percy. Percy. Percy. Percy. Percy.
The thought hit her, out of nowhere, uninvited, all at once. Her chest tightened, and suddenly she felt a rush of emotions. Good emotions. She had always been careful, always so cautious about her feelings, scared of those that appeared like a fast rising elevator but wouldn't last.
But she remembered the way her heart skipped a beat when he did literally anything, the fluttering she had tried to ignore before. This wasn’t supposed to happen. She wasn’t supposed to feel this way.
She felt lost in the labyrinth of her own mind; how could Percy make her feel like that?
And when the kitchen was left empty and he came closer just to hold her body and kiss her cheek, she was sure.
I don’t just like him.
Uh, oh. I’m falling in love.
HIII!!! i love it and at the same time i hate it ;) doesn't have a lot of interaction but our girl finally noticed something! i have plans for the next two chapetrs IM SO EXCITED I LOVE U ALL SO MUCH this is one of my favs song in the whole world!!!! love it love it love ittt

Please can you write fluff where the reader is Velvet and Veneer's younger sister? Like Velvet just hates the reader but Veneer adores her and stands up to Velve whenever she insults her.
Hello!! thank you for your request and thank you for waiting, I hope you like it🩷
Velvet & Veneer x younger sister
Tumblr media
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
You're Velvet and Veneer's little sister, pretty much younger. You always watch their concerts live with admiration, listening to their songs and being very proud of your elders, thinking about how when you grow up you will become the same as them. And finally, Velvet and Veneer must visit themselves at their parents' house. You were so excited for your big siblings to get home from their performance. When you heard their voices at the door, you ran to greet them. "Velvet! Veneer!" - Your voice is full of joy to finally meet your star brother and sister, your eyes sparkle when you see them. Velvet walked in with an annoyed look. "Ugh not so loud, jailbait, I've got a headache after arrival" - Velvet had never been particularly nice to you and Veneer, so you would expect that she wouldn't be very nice now either. On the one hand, you can understand her, she is the oldest child and before she always had to keep an eye on you. Your smile fell slightly, it still hurt you, but then Veneer swept you up in a hug. "Hey! There's my favorite sis! I missed you so much" You giggled and hugged him tight. Veneer always made you feel better when Velvet was mean. He gave you a kiss on the forehead before setting you down. "I missed you too! So how was the show?" You wanted them to tell everything about how they perform, you were so eager to hear about all their stories from their performances.
Seeing you hugging Veneer, and the way you said that you missed him.. Velvet for a second feels hurt deep in her heart, which means her little sister really didn't miss her best big sister? "It was great until this one messed up his lines" Velvet shot a glare at Veneer, her eyes were directed sharply towards him. Sighing, the singer released you from his embrace and straightened up. "I said I was sorry Vel, it was an accident." "Yeah sure. If you weren't so useless we'd be even bigger stars." Her harsh words made you frown. "Hey don't be mean to Veneer, Velvet, you both try and well..everyone can make mistakes" - For a second you thought that it wasn’t the best decision to contradict your older sister, but you didn’t want to see Veneer being hurt. Velvet rolled her eyes. "Oh please, you're just a little stupid kid. Go to your room and play with your toys, the adults are talking." - Now, she really went too far, you just wanted them not to quarrel, but received a new portion of negativity addressed to you. "Oh come on, we haven't seen the little one for so long, she doesn't need to leave.." - Veneer said gently, he didn’t want to anger her even more, but at the same time he would like to be in a less tense atmosphere at home. You smiled at him gratefully. Velvet huffed in annoyance. "Whatever, I'm going to rest. Just try to prevent me from getting a good sleep, I don't know what I'll do to you." - The older sister spoke with a bit of irritation, she rolled her eyes and turned around. With that she stalked off to her bedroom, leaving you and Veneer alone. He pulled you in for another hug. "Don't listen to her. Sis, you know that she says this not out of malice" You were a little offended by Velvet’s words, but you didn’t hold your anger for long, as Veneer, your beloved older brother, said. Still, you've known Velvet all your life, and it's time to get used to she's character.

Professor Parker Part 2
Summary: where Professor Parker makes a deal with trouble, in order to get them to stay in class.
Word Count: 2.4k+
Warnings: 18+ Only! Smut, professor x student relationship (college age of course!), oral f!receiving, praise kink, angst
A/N- I am sorry this took so long to actually do, but yeah, after that recent talk show look (you know the one I’m talking about, if not I reblogged it a few posts back) I just knew I needed to go back to this. Anyway, enjoy.
Ps @sincericida it’s been a while since part one so would you mind reblogging to help find the original masses, who knows who’s usernames are still the same or working.
Tumblr media
You weren’t going to continue taking his course. You had every intention of going straight to the Dean asking to change. Sure you had been eagerly awaiting this course ever since you’d first read about, it well over a year ago, when you were thinking about where you wanted to study after you graduated. The way Professor Parker focused on Multiversal Theory, using Physics of Matter to provide proof for his theories, it was a truly riveting subject. But now, after all this. There was no way you could stay in his class, listening to him talk for 12-15 hours a week, knowing he’d buried his head between your legs, made you cum again and again… no you couldn’t do it. That would just be self induced torture, no? Because there was also no way he’d fuck you until you saw stars again, would he? No, there was no way. Then how come you were now sat on top of his desk, your legs spread, panties dropped to the floor between you as he once again ate your pussy like he was a man starved?
He had stopped you as you went to leave, trying to blend in and leave amongst the crowd. “Hold it Miss Y/L/N.” Fuck! You thought you were gonna get away with it.
There was silence as you waited, arms folded- guarded- as the last couple of students left with small smiles and waved their goodbyes to the Professor. Professor, uhhh the reminder of the name he’d given you last night now felt very different.
“Don’t go.” He said as he moved back towards his desk and began shifting things around. “I know that look. Don’t change course.” You couldn’t meet his eyes. You kept quiet with your eyes to the ground as you watched him come back around the front of the desk, his ankles crossing over in front of him as he leant back on the desk. “Last nights on me, I’m sorry,” he admitted and it finally forced you to meet his eyes as he continued to speak. “But it shouldn’t mean you have to change course.”
You didn’t know what he expected you to say. You didn’t know how else to respond either, a now slightly less uncomfortable silence falling between you. He sighed as he ran his hand through his hair, shaking his head. “Well you certainly chose the right name to introduce yourself with… trouble.”
“You’re one to talk… Professor.” You said, finally finding your voice and the corner of his mouth quirked into a small smile.
“Okay, you have me there. But in all fairness, I’m not expecting to find new students in clubs.” He mused, both a chastising, yet naughty glimmer of admiration in his eye.
“You can blame my room mate for that one. You can also blame her for pushing me on you.” You chuffed as the memory from the night before came back to you.
He frowned as if remembering too. “Quite literally if I remember correctly.” He joked and it made your tummy flip.
You fell quiet again, your eyes quickly shooting back to looking at his feet instead of his face, as the feeling of your crush overwhelmed you and your previous dilemma returned.
As if he could see the conflict in your mind for himself, he stepped closer, forcing your attention back on him as he said, “What have I got to do to convince you to stay in this class?” He asked honestly, but he was too close to you. His smell was intoxicating. His gaze penetrating. His eyes were so soft and earnest, you just wanted to melt into them. His curls were too neat in the light of day and you just wanted to run your hands through them until they were fluffy and soft and messy again, just like they had been when you had left him in bed and snuck out this morning.
Your breathing caught in your chest as he reached out his hand to you, his warm fingers coming into contact with the smallest patch of bare skin on your arm where your cardigan had slipped down. It sent a shiver down your spine and you knew he had felt it.
He pulled his hand away again hesitantly and you reached to pull your cardigan back up onto your shoulder to cover yourself up again protectively. “I can’t.” You said gently, the two words breaking you and you knew you had to walk away before it was too late- before anything else could happen and make this hurt anymore.
You had taken two steps towards the door when you felt his hand reach for your wrist to pull you back. When you met his eyes you were met with conflict, it was plain on his face now as he looked you up and down fully in the light of day. His gaze finally fell to the floor and he released your wrist to rub at his face as he sighed. “Uhhhh you weren’t kidding when you said you were gonna cause me a whole load of trouble,” he muttered to himself and all you could do was frown, your fingers picking at the pages the notebook in your fingers, as you tried to work out what thoughts were going through his head.
He sighed again as he looked to the ceiling as if trying to talk himself out of whatever idea had placed itself into his head. “Fuck,” he groaned quietly and the next thing you knew he was marching towards the door.
You watched him closely, your heart in your mouth as he pulled down the blind and there was a faint click as he locked the door. You only just about had time to realise what he was doing before he marched back over to you, his hands reaching out to hold either side of your face as he brought his lips to yours.
The touch instantly made you ache between your legs, your knees wobbling slightly as you took a sudden deep breath in through your nose as if his kiss alone allowed you to breathe freely again. There was a loud slap as the book in your hands hit the linoleum floor, but neither of you flinched as your reached your fingers up into his hair, messing up his curls and pulling him closer.
As his arm moved down to snake around your lower back, pulling you in closer to him, you could feel every contour of his body. Could feel the pressure building behind his pants zipper.
You opened your mouth up to him more and felt him waste no time, as he licked inside your mouth, pulling a desperate and wanton moan from between your lips. He grunted slightly in response, his forehead pushing into yours desperately as he forced himself to break off the passionate kiss for just a moment. “Are you sure this is what you want?” He asked. “You know you won’t be able to say anything to anyone.” He said, his eyes searching yours for any hesitation. “But I’m not letting you transfer out of this class, okay?” He said strongly.
You felt dizzy. Your eyes struggled to focus on him. From his kiss to his questions- far too many to answer in a short amount of time- you just wanted to feel his lips on yours again. Wanted to feel his fingers everywhere. Last night had been the best night of your life so far and he was dangling that feeling in front of you like a poisoned apple on a string- and you so wanted to bite.
“Come on, Trouble, I need you to answer me,” he said, somewhat desperately and it made you wonder, maybe he wanted this just as much as you did. At first you thought this might just be a ruse to get you to stay, but maybe it was more than that.
“Yes,” you sighed breathlessly.
“Yes, what?”
“Yes, I understand. I’ll stay. I won’t tell anyone, just please-“ you hesitated a second as you heard the rest of the sentence you wanted to say play out in your head and worked up the courage to say it- but you figured you’d come this far and already given yourself a nickname to live up to so why not say it- “promise me you’ll do that thing with your tongue again.” You sighed out breathlessly and a devilish gleam twinkled in his eye as he let out a small chuckle and shook his head gently against yours.
“Trouble,” he sighed. “Which thing?” He asked, playing along with you, but you were sure he already knew, so kept quiet as his gaze on you grew hungrier. He gave you a wolfish grin as he shook his head again. “When? Now?” He asked and you nibbled at your lip in anticipation.
He sighed again and rolled his eyes, his fingers reaching for yours as he began to pull you slowly around the back of his desk, backing you up until the backs of your thighs were pressing into the wood.
“It’s a good thing you wore a skirt for your first day of my class then, isn’t it?” He teased, his fingers tracing up your bare skin, slowly inching underneath the skirt and sending a shiver up your spine. He didn’t stop their journey until he reached your underwear, his fingers hooking into the elastic at your hips and slowly dragging them back down your legs at an agonising pace, until they reached your knees and he let them drop to the floor, ready for you to step out of them.
As you did so, he slowly encouraged you to sit back on top of his desk, his hands reaching back to lift up your skirt and reveal yourself to him, his eyes not leaving yours, as he slowly lowered himself onto his knees on the floor before you. Your eyes fluttered closed and you sighed as his lips turned to graze the inside of your knee, the barely there touch of his mouth on your skin enough to send an overwhelming rush of arousal to your core. As he gradually kissed his way up your inner thigh, your fingers gripping the papers on his desk to ground. You couldn’t believe you were actually doing this. You were about to enter into a secret affair with your professor like this was an episode of Riverdale or Pretty Little Liars.
But as his tongue finally moved up to swipe through your sex, you really didn’t care. If it meant you got to experience the bliss this man was able to drag from you on a regular basis, you didn’t care about anything. As he continued lick at your folds, his tongue sucking your clit into his mouth every few swipes, building you up at an agonising pace, you fought with all your might to keep your moans quiet, biting down on your lower lip with a strangled sigh as your sensitivity bloomed and the pressure between your legs grew tighter.
You allowed yourself one low shaky sigh as his tongue pushed deep inside you, teasing you agonisingly and you gripped the edges of his desk as you grew desperately close to your release. “Good girl,” he praised, as he took his mouth back away from you for just a second, before sliding two of his fingers gently inside you and sucking your clit back between his lips.
“Oh, shit.” You hissed, as his words and tone sent another flutter of arousal and sensitivity between your lips and you finally realised how much trouble you were really in. But it was too late, you’d already taken a bite from the tainted apple, the poison was already coursing through your blood and it felt far too good to run away.
His fingers gripped tighter to your thighs as they began to shake, your climax so desperate to come flooding out, but the tension of needing to be quiet made it unbearable. Your fingers clawed at his shoulders as you tried to keep yourself grounded and in control, the coil deep in your pelvis ready to expload and you felt his fingers slip out of you, his hands moving to hold you down firmly onto the desk as he took one last swipe at the sensitive apex between your legs. Your eyes squeezed shut, your legs clamping tightly around his face as it all came crashing down, the tiniest desperate squeak escaping from between your lips before you swallowed the need to cry out back down, instead panting your way through your climax until you could feel your body beginning to cool and calm again.
Slowly you relaxed your thighs and you heard a faint breathy chuckle of satisfaction fall from his lips as he rubbed soothingly at your bare legs again, before moving back, his hand casually moving to wipe away the mess on his face.
As he finally stood back up, his tongue lapping up the last of your juices from his lips, you saw him bunch up your panties, that he’d picked up off the floor, and wrap them tightly in his fingers before sliding them into his pocket.
“Hey, I need those back.” You said to him indignantly, a slight panic in your chest at the thought of having to walk back out of the classroom with nothing on under your skirt.
“New rule.” He said, standing up straight as he looked over your flushed form, still sitting on top of his desk as he leaned in closer. “Your panties end up on my classroom floor, I get to keep hold of them.” You were sure his words had just sent another wave of arousal back down between your legs, but you fought to ignore it, the thought of walking out of here panty-less, still more pressing, especially if this was going to be a regular thing- you’d be out of underwear before the semester was out and there was no way your student budget was gonna stretch to new underwear every other week.
You were about to protest the fact as you pushed yourself off the desk, your hand reaching out to snatch your underwear back from his pocket, but he swerved out the way before you could so much as even make the slightest bit of contact. “Uh, uh, uh,” he said, holding his finger up to me, that devilish smirk back in the corner of his mouth. “You can have them back, as long as you get good grades on your essays.”
You couldn’t help but roll your eyes as you let out a breathy little scoff. “So do we have a deal, trouble?” He asked patiently.
You rolled your eyes again as you conceded, “Yeah,” you sighed, “we have a deal.”

i wanna talk about colin's wet dream. that was the most demisexual shit i have EVER seen. there's not even any sex. its just a romanticized, elevated version of their first kiss. its colin's subconscious wanting to replay the moment he fell in love with his best friend in the Most way possible.
lets break it down:
we got the same location of their first kiss. Complete with mood lighting and a fog machine. It’s giving pride and prejudice 2005
Penelope comes out (looking gorgeous, of course) to their rendezvous spot, which has been previously agreed on.
colin thanks her for meeting him, she doesn't know why he's asked her to come
he confesses his feelings for her
she reciprocates (this is the important part of this to me. ) her wanting him, makes him want her more (do you see where the demisexual colin energy is coming from? do you understand?)
they make out
he kisses her neck as she pants his name over and over (see my point above re: her wanting him makes him want her more)
he wakes up, absolutely shook
this is an idealized reimagining for colin: during their first kiss he was basically in shock, his new personality chokes on the reality and vulnerability of the moment
in the book he talks about how he tries to think of something witty to say but finds that no words are necessary, and there's no combination of witty banter or suave bravado that could help in that moment. the rake persona that he has put on up to this point absolutely fails him. but here, in this dream, words are crucial, the declarations of love are why its sexy! (demi colin is canon idc idc)
and its so important that this wet dream, the idealized version of this scenario happens like this. because we've also seen colin having sex with sex workers (and luke newton has talked about this) but his energy in those scenes is very detached, very focused on him and his pleasure with zero connection to the women he's with. he has two different threesomes (if you can even call the second one that, he's barely even looking at them) with four different women and we know nothing about these girls. they don't even get names. they don't matter, and its simply not. as. good. as the feeling of kissing pen. there is no connection
which is, i think, why he taps out during the threesome in ep4. he tries to go back to the devil-may-care attitude toward sex and intimacy that he had before kissing pen, he tries to return to that mask he put on of "the rake" and it just doesn't work! he feels nothing! in fact he feels disdain for the position he's in and the choices he's made!
the threesome in ep4 mirrors the outburst he has later at the club really well. like he's so frustrated with this position he's put himself in, the men he's surrounded himself with. he literally says "none of you are gentlemen!" "you're actually gross and disrespectful!"
a line that i love is :
"... it is tiring, is it not? The necessity imposed on us to remain cavalier about the one thing in life that holds genuine meaning. Do you not find it lonely?"
and they laugh! in! his! face! because these are men that feel perfectly fine sleeping with strangers and bragging about their "conquests" to their buddies
but that is not who colin is! he's still very young. and his experience with marina (who tried to seduce him and it didn't work, imo bc he just didn't feel that passion, that love that makes his relationship with penelope so different) has left him jaded, but not nearly as jaded as he wants to believe. even if he wants to be casual about romance and sex, he just isn't. this man proposed to marina after knowing her for what? a couple weeks? He is an All or Nothing type of guy. He has that Bridgerton 'when i fall in love i will only ever talk about my spouse' Gene
Now: some costuming details that i love:
Her hair:
(i know this is a stretch but go with me here) her hair is in slightly tighter curls than we've seen this season, which to me seems like a nod to colin liking (or at least not minding) her hair the way it was in previous seasons and maybe not caring as much as we might think about her transformation. but its still down and flowy and in line with her new style
Tumblr media
let's talk about this! dress! (it has genuinely been keeping me up at night)
the sleeves seem much more similar to the silhouettes of her costumes in previous seasons, not necessarily in shape but in style
the sleeves are bulkier, compared to this season's costumes, which while they might have been the same size and shape, they are made of much lighter material, giving the silhouette a softer, more mature feeling.
compare it to this dress from s3 ep2: it looks very similar with the sleeve shape and the floral appliqués, but in the dress in the image above, the appliqués are much more obvious, closer to penelope's style under her mother's tastes
Tumblr media
the point i'm trying to make here will be made more clear in a sec. what I am NOT trying to say that colin prefers her in her little girl dresses with loud designs, bright colors, and silly hairdos. he just associates those bigger, brighter, louder style choices with penelope.
And he has always liked Penelope. Even when he didn’t take her seriously as a potential partner, he always saw her as an equal. He never made fun of her silly dresses and questionable hair choices.
This has nothing to do with Colin but i feel like i should point it out:
there is something to be said about how her muted pastel color palette along with the more demure style that she has adopted shows that she is trying to Show Up with this social season, but as a wallflower, she is shy. she's always hated those brightly colored dresses her mother put her in, because no matter how close to the wall she clung, she was always visible. she was always vulnerable to ridicule.
but i don't think colin knows or realizes this because why would he think critically about the specific style changes she's made. and he probably doesn't really make the connection of the influence her mother has on her clothing. and around him, pen has never seemed all that shy. she's been confident and witty. if you pair her personality that shines around colin with her louder outfits, it seems more congruous
(take the scene from season 2 where we get the line "My purpose shall set me free") this is a side of penelope that no one, not even eloise!, sees
Tumblr media
what his subconscious knows is that he associates pen with vibrant, textured, and often 3-dimensional outfits, and his subconscious creates a dress that fits her new style, with a little more of that featherington flair thrown in.
the fucking tie in front: i feel like this is a very clear reference/ foreshadowing to the mirror scene
Tumblr media
for those of you who haven't read the book, the mirror scene doesn't actually happen, but colin tells penelope about a fantasy he has about touching her in front of a mirror
this is a pretty small offhand comment made while they're having sex for the first time but amongst book fans the scene has become pretty fleshed out i think, with fanfics especially
because the idea that it touches on is colin fantasizing about penelope seeing herself the way he does, as sexy and desirable (he seriously cares about her pleasure so much its sickening, I'm actually sick)
and although Book Colin doesn't mention it, the idea of him undressing her in front of a mirror has become a popular story set-up
i think the tie in the front sort of plays on the time period sensibilities of propriety: this is a time where in "good" society an unmarried man and woman would never touch skin to skin, its why all the women wear gloves most of the time. its why the scenes in season 1 between daphne and simon play on the excitement of removing the gloves: its a taboo thing
this is unrelated to this post but i need an explanation as to why pen isn't wearing gloves in a lot of her scenes this season, like the scandal that that would cause??? I'm assuming its representative of her growing into her sexuality; and bridgerton is a fantasy, not a historical nonfiction, but like some consistency would be nice guys bc i was so confused abt all the skin-on-skin contact happening. even with Francesca and Lord Samadani WHEN HE KISSES HER BARE HAND I WAS SO UNCOMFORTABLE FOR HER. especially because of all the glove-related tension in s1. but i digress.
so the tie in front is sort of a dare. even though its clearly an addition, and untying wouldn't actually remove her dress, its her (colin's subconscious version of her anyway) way of saying: "you could untie this, you could undress me if you wanted to" "i love you" "i want you"
and i think that's beautiful. this season is great and i will die on this hill.
Tumblr media
If you've made it this far, congrats! you're just as feral as me! come and gnaw on the drywall with me while i post fanfics inspired by this season: https://archiveofourown.org/works/55988977/chapters/142190584

Memories made, memories lost
Tumblr media
Plot: Before Pero Tovar and his friend William Garin set out in search of black powder, he found himself doing something he never thought he would - falling in love. But what waits for him as he returns from his adventure after all this time?
Mercenary!Pero x female reader
Warnings: Angst and grief, loss of virginity (it's all consensual and it's not the main trope of the fic), explicit smut. No use of y/n, the reader is pretty much a blank slate.
Word count: 7.9k
This is written for @burntheedges Roll-A-Trope Wiriting Challenge where I requested a trope for Pero Tovar and got Amnesia A big thank you to @i-own-loki for the lovely banner! What would I do without my Canva Pro friends!?

Marriage was not something that was ever on the cards for Pero Tovar.
He left his hometown while he was still a young boy, and after that he never stayed long enough in one place to put down roots. Let alone find a woman who would want to throw her lot in with a mostly penniless mercenary soldier who relied on powerful lords always finding a new enemy to fight. Who would want a scarred battle dog with a permanent scowl and dangerous look to his appearance? And even if someone did, how could he care for a wife? A family? He moved from town to town, from country to country, seldom returning to the same place twice unless the pay was very good.
But then, one autumn in southern England, when the fighting season was over and the mud was too thick for both men and horses to march in, something changed. He was no longer young but in his fighting prime, hardened, and hard, by years of fighting other men’s wars. He had no other plans than to spend the winter in this small English town with his friend William Garin, wait for spring and the call to arms for another war or rebellion or crusade. He was going to fill his belly, hone his weapons, train the younger men and spend his evenings with a whore or two, and that was it.
Marriage was not on the cards.
But fate wanted a different path for him. And you quite literally fell into his arms as you tumbled from your horse on the outskirts of the small town.
“Curse that nag!” you yelled crossly, struggling to free yourself from his strong grip, “let go, I can stand on my own legs!” You pushed at his chest as the dark haired man let go of your waist, stepping back with a chuckle.
“And what fine legs they are,” he said, his grin wide.
You sneered at his comment, “Too fine for you either way.”
You glared at him as you brushed your dress, “I should thank you, I guess. You saved me from a much greater fall, that stupid mare is spooked by the smallest twig and throws me twice a week at least.”
With a sigh you looked at your horse who’d decided that the twig wasn’t an immediate threat and had begun to graze the last of the summer grass just a little while down the country lane.
“If that’s the case, you best go and claim your horse before she decides one of farmer Ned’s cows has fangs and means to eat her,” Pero chuckled. He liked your spirit, and the way your eyes blazed as you glanced at him.
“I wouldn’t put it past her,” you said with a shake of your head, “I best be off, thank you again, sir.”
Tovar gave a small nod and crooked smile at your retreating back.
Later that evening, as he’d eaten and gone back to the room he shared with William, he wondered why the chance meeting on the country lane wouldn’t leave his head. He felt as if he might’ve been bewitched, one moment walking down the country lane on his way out to the smithy for a repair of his armour, the next he had a woman in his arms as her bay horse bolted down the road. You’d smelled of apples, a rich, sweet scent clinging to your hair as it brushed over his face when you both landed in the dust. The soft yield of your flesh under the rough linen dress, it was as if he’d put his hands on the softest down pillow, he’d wanted to grab hold of it and not let go.
As you rushed away from him, scolding your skittish horse, he’d watched the way your hips swayed with each step, bright hair bouncing with frustration. You gripped the horse’s bridle and pulled it around, even at a distance he could see the way your nose crinkled in annoyance as you berated the poor animal. When your anger trickled out as quickly as it flared up, your face softened and you gently stroked the animal’s nose, giving its neck a pat before swinging yourself up into the saddle again. You caught him staring and gave him a quick smile, before turning again and nudging the horse into a slow trot.
He’d made his way to the smithy and then back to the rooms he and William had rented for the winter. And when he laid down on his bed, the vision of you filled his head, soft curves, sweet smile, quick temper and a sharp tongue. He would very much like to see you again, be that close to you again.
The next day was a Sunday and he joined William at the church for mass with the rest of the village. He let the familiar Latin incantations wash over him, the rituals the same here as in his hometown as it was in every other town he’d ever visited, irrespective of the country or the ruler. The power radiated from Rome and although the churches looked different, the rituals were the same and it brought a strange, albeit dull, comfort to him.
When mass was over the congregation filtered out of the church, slow in leaving, catching up with neighbours and sharing gossip. Pero tried to scan the crowd surreptitiously but William caught his wandering eye.
“Who are you looking for? The mysterious horse woman?” he asked, looking around at the villagers and the mercenaries who were wintering here just as they were. Pero had told him of the encounter, not being able to hide how you’d remained on his mind as he returned to the rooms.
“I don’t remember seeing her here before,” Pero replied, trying to appear unphased, uncaring, as he continued to scan the open space in front of the church, but without success. When he couldn’t see her, he followed William back to their lodgings. The Lord’s day should be spent in rest and was not wise to anger the local priest.
But Pero found himself too restless to sit still, fiddling with a troublesome chainmail. He left William to it and ventured outside instead, vying to find a secluded spot in the woods to get some practice in without being scolded by someone spotting him working on a Sunday.
The autumn forest was golden, the air crisp and clear as the sky stretched endlessly blue above the trees as Pero wandered further in than he meant to. It felt good to be away from people, from the crowded town and the small rooms he shares with William.
The clank of metal on wood reached his ears and he furrowed his brows, no one would be out here felling trees on a Sunday unless there was some strange business. He moved silently through the underbrush towards the sound, and came upon a clearing, drawing breath at the sight in front of him. You had stripped down to just your slip and a pair of men’s breeches, your arms bare and glistening with sweat as you raised the heavy sword and parried an imagined attack, and hit the thick beech trunk. The sword lodged in the wood and with a grunt you pulled it free, backing up a few steps and repeating the exercise.
Pero watched you for a few minutes, your technique was good, someone has clearly taught you the basics, but the sword was too heavy for you.
“You have some skills with that sword, señorita,” he called, just as you dropped your arm, letting the sword hang by your side as you took a deep breath.
His voice made you jump and swing around, the sword quickly raised.
“Do not worry, I mean you no harm,” he said, walking towards you with both his arms raised, “We’ve met before, with your troublesome mare.”
“I remember,” you answered, the tone of your voice betraying your wariness as his sudden appearance, “What are you doing here?”
“The same as you, señorita, I think,” he replied, “seeking a place away from unwelcome eyes to hone my skill on a Sunday.”
Unclipping his cloak and satchel and placing them on a log near the edge of the clearing, he then turned and nodded at the sword in your hand.
“You have some skill, but the sword is too heavy for you.”
“What do you care?” you snapped at him, the sword still lifted as he approached.
“I train the younger soldiers, when a sword is too heavy for the user, the technique suffers. And I hate to see a bad swordsman. Or woman.”
With a fluid movement he pulled both of his swords from his back, the left one spinning in his hand, the handle held out towards you.
“Let me show you, borrow my sword, it’s more lightweight.”
You regarded him with suspicion, not lowering your own sword.
“Why do you want to help me?”
“Why do I want to help a woman become a better fighter?” he countered, still holding out the sword to you, “Because those without swords can still die upon them. I learned that a long time ago. So better the women know how to fight too.”
You regarded him with caution, the dark haired, dark eyed man with a strange accent and a menacing scar across his eye. But something in his face, the way he looked at you with a cocked eyebrow, encouraging you to take the sword he was still holding out to you, made your trepidation waver. Slowly you sheathed your own sword, and grabbed the handle of his. He gave you a crooked smile and a quick nod.
“Good. Now show me what you can do.”
With a quick movement he brought up his own sword and attacked, and you just about parried in time, the two swords ringing out through the empty forest as they met.
Marriage was not something that was ever on the cards for him. But sometimes fate wills it differently.
And before that Sunday afternoon in the forest, you’d never considered marrying someone either. At least not for any other reason than your father telling you that a man was needed to run the farm when he was gone. But the dark haired Spaniard with the scowling face, menacing and imposing, he was the one who made you see that marrying didn’t mean settling for one of the local boys.
His dark eyes glittered with mischief as he taunted your sword skills, easily smacking your arm with the flat side of his blade as you failed to anticipate his next move in the early days of your training. But it was the way he smiled with pride when you managed to disarm him and put your blade to his neck, that smile made your heart melt. He was proud of you for a skill any other man you knew would shame you for, even attempt to lock you up for. It was like taking a deep breath of air for the first time, the way he treated you like an equal in a way no ever had before.
It was mesmerising how a hardened soldier with such a menacing scowl could transform into the most handsome man you’d ever seen. It stunned you, and locked you in place, the first time you stood toe to toe with him, his back against a thick oak, your sword resting against his neck. Surprise flashed across his face first, then he smiled, his eyes shifting from the hard concentration of battle to soft warmth as his lips pulled up in a proud grin.
“I knew there was a warrior in you,” he said, holding his sword arm up in defeat as you pulled the blade away from his neck, “with my training, you’ll beat almost any man.”
“Almost any man?” you replied, your eyebrows lifting as you moved your hand and rested the blade against his neck again.
Pero chuckled, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he looked down on you, glancing down his sharp nose as you made him tilt his head back again.
“Any man, guerrera,” he smiled and again the pride in his voice made warmth and elation shoot through your body.
Sweat was dripping from his forehead, you could feel the heat of him against you, the rise and fall of his chest, your own short breaths against him as an errant drop slipped over his lips and his tongue came out to catch it. Your eyes drifted to the pink tip as he licked his bottom lip, watching it disappear into his mouth again. When you looked up, his smile was gone, replaced by something more hungry, his eyes darker as they seemed to study your face. There was no need for you to be so close to him still, the fight over. But as he brought his hand up and carefully pushed your sword away from his neck, you only let your hand drop, not stepping back. You felt rooted to the spot with his eyes on you, the warmth of his body like a magnet to your own.
“Señorita…” he almost growled, a half whisper from the back of his throat, as he slowly leaned closer, his eyes moving to your lips before his gaze fell on you again. Dark and warm, it was like being pulled in by the last of the dying embers of a fire. Pero glowed and burned hot under your palm as you put your hands on his neck and pulled him to you, your sword falling to the floor of the forest with a soft clatter.
He wouldn’t let you go, and you clung to him just as eagerly, the dry leaves rustling as you pulled him down, he rolled you over, caging you in under his strong arms.
“Señorita…” he growled again, it was all he could press out before your lips found his, soft, pliant and sweeter than anything he’d ever tasted, addictive in the way they felt against his mouth, his jaw, his cheeks as you found new places to kiss him, your fingers winding through his hair, keeping him locked in place against your lips, taking as much as you wanted from him and he never once stopped you.
He was lost. So utterly lost. And he’d never felt more at home.
You plucked last year’s leaves from your hair and cloak all the way home that day. Pero followed you to the edge of the forest as always. But this time you pulled him behind a tree and made him press his hard body against you, pinning you against the trunk. The way he groaned into your kisses made your body heat up, your need for him growing with every slow roll of his hips, hands roaming to feel as much of him as you could, his hands kneading your hips and caressing your curves.
If your lips were swollen and your hair dishevelled, your father said nothing of it when you came home. When Pero came by one Sunday after church and asked permission to marry his daughter, he wasn’t surprised.
There had been no war or rebellion to pull Pero away from you that year. William left, serviced under a local lord, but Pero stayed and put what little money he had left into buying the small farm next to your father’s. When the time came, the two could be merged and provide a good life for the two of you and any children that followed. When the small cottage was his by law, only then did he go to your father, who said yes without hesitation to the large Spaniard.
“As if I could deny you the man you’ve clearly set your eyes on, even if he wasn’t a great, big hulking warrior,” your father had said later that same night after Pero had left, “With him in your house, I know you’ll be safer than with me. And if you truly love him too, well then I have no objections.”
“I really do love him, with all his scowls and menacing looks, he is a very good man underneath it all, father.”
There had been strange looks from the villagers, but that had hardly mattered. You’d always gone your own way, and marrying a dark haired outsider with a thick accent seemed to be something that the gossiping wives had expected of you. Either way, when you exchanged your vows outside the church on the intended day, you were surrounded by smiling faces, the old priest beaming down at you as you entered the church with Pero by your side to be blessed by by God.
The feast lasted most of the day but by the late afternoon, you both left your father’s farm and was escorted by the priest, William and a few other villagers, to your new home, the cottage that Pero had worked so hard to turn into a home for you both. His first home since he left the place he was born, and now the place where he intended to live out the rest of his life as a happy man. When the marital bed had been blessed too, Pero closed the door to the cottage and you were alone as husband and wife for the first time.
“Come here, husband,” you smiled at him as he turned back from the door. You didn’t need to beckon him, nothing would keep him away from you tonight, but you liked the sound of his new title - husband.
“Mi esposa,” he grinned as he crowded you against the sturdy oak bed he’d built with the aid of the local carpenter, “my wife, finally.”
His eyes went soft, his mischievous grin replaced by a tender look as he cupped your face with his warm palms, “Never in my life did I think I’d call someone ‘my wife’, I never thought this was the way my life would be, and then I found you,” he ran his thumbs over your cheeks, leaning his forehead against yours as your breaths mingled, ”Te amo, mi amor,” he whispered.
“I love you too, Pero,” you whispered back, your fingers finding his soft curls as you wrapped your arms around his neck. Gently he pushed you backwards, making you lay down on the bed, your bed, as he moved to cage you in under his arms and wide shoulders. Many training sessions in the forest had ended this way, time slipping away as you kissed each other breathless, but it had never gone further. You’d feel the thick weight of him pressed against your thighs, felt how he sometimes rolled his hips to seek a brief relief, but he'd always pull back.
“Amor, I won’t take you on the forest floor,” he’d muttered when you asked him to stop caring so much about your virtue, “I want you in a bed, our bed, when I’m your husband and you’re my wife.”
Now here you were, in your bed, and you called him husband as he slowly removed all your layers, caressing every sliver of skin that was revealed to him. He pressed kisses to your soft breasts, moaning as he felt them pebble under his touch, his strong nose trailed across the downy hairs of your belly, and when you giggled at the way his beard tickled, he nipped at the warm skin of your thighs. The thick slide of his tongue through your heated centre made you arch your back and gasp, your fingers scrambling for purchase in his hair. You could hear him chuckle against you, the tip of his nose circling the epicentre of your pleasure, he seemed to know this part of your body better than yourself and he soon had you moaning his name as you fought to catch your breath.
When he had you drenched and dripping, he rested his head on your soft thigh and tapped your leg.
“Amor, look at me,” he invited. Through half closed lids, clouded with pleasure, you watched him slide a finger through your liquid, coating it before he slowly pushed in. It slipped in easily, and when he curled it, caressing your insides, your eyes fell closed of their own volition. Suddenly you wanted more, more of his fingers, more of him and you whined, your hips rolling over his finger.
“Please, Pero…” you whimpered, your voice hoarse and pleading.
“What do you want, esposa,” he asked as he moved his finger gently back and forth, making you gasp again.
“More…I think…more…” you mumbled and Pero smiled. Seeing you fall apart for him, slowly showing you how good he could make you feel, how he intended to spend every long winter evening, it filled him with a happiness he’d never felt before. It was like a hot burning fire inside his chest and it would keep him warm when he had to leave, he knew these memories would be the ones he returned to on long cold nights alone.
“More?” he asked, “I can give you more, amor.”
The smile in his voice made you look up at him as he moved to lie at your side, putting his arm under your shoulders and finding your lips with his own. As his tongue slipped inside your mouth, he gently pushed a second finger into your heat. He felt you arch up against him, whimpering into his mouth, your fingers digging into his arms as he slid his own in and out, setting your body on fire with every slow drag.
He moved so slowly, it was like your body was turning into molten metal, heat flowed through you, all coming from where Pero’s fingers sunk into you. Your hips rolled of their own accord, your core clenching hard around him and a tension was building up inside you. But just as you felt as if you were about to snap, like a thread pulled too tight, Pero slipped his fingers from you and caressed your side, his hand leaving a sticky trail on your skin.
“Amor,” he mumbled, moving over your body so that he once again was caging you in, his warm, dark eyes glowing as he looked down at you, “Amor, I’m going to enter you now, tell me to stop if it hurts, you are so tight.”
You nodded and made room for him between your legs, you knew this might hurt, you’d heard the wives talk and the gossip. But no one had ever mentioned it feeling this good to be with a man, this aching need to be filled up by him. It had you panting with impatience, your core clenching around the emptiness left behind by his fingers.
Pero kept his eyes locked on you as he coated himself with your silky liquid and lined himself up. Your brows furrowed as he pushed the thick head inside, and he dropped his forehead to yours, taking a deep breath.
“Does it hurt?” he whispered, slowly rocking himself back and forth, just the tip moving inside you, and you shook your head.
“No, it was just a little tight, I want more,” you replied, spreading your legs wider for him. He reached down and hooked your leg over his hip.
“Squeeze me, pull me in if you want more,” he said, gritting his teeth as he felt your contract around him, fighting the urge to push in harder, “you feel so good, amor, so good to me.”
Your legs wrapped around his waist and Pero rocked slowly, pushing in deeper with each short thrust. His face was pinched with concentration, his mouth half open as he licked his lips. With your arms wrapped around his neck, his forehead against yours, each breath you took was his and your world shrunk down to only Pero. Only his warm body above yours, his hips heavy between your legs, driving himself into you and creating ripples of pleasure through every fibre of your being with each thrust deep inside. Your eyes wanted to close but you forced them to stay open, to see your husband as he looked at you, his eyes hazy with lust, dark and burning, every movement making him groan as your body pulled him in. The tight string started to pull taught inside you again, your body moving against Pero’s, making him pick up his pace.
“Amor, can you feel that?” he mumbled, his forehead still resting against yours, “can you feel your body getting ready to fall?”
You nodded, it felt like a lightning storm ready to break, just over the horizon. Tightening your grip around his waist, you pulled him in and he understood, driving himself deeper, a little bit harder into your tight core.
“Pero” you gasped, your nails digging into his shoulders, and he grunted in response, his hand grabbing your leg and finding a new angle.
“Amor, let me feel you come around me, give me this…” he panted, “the first time…I want it-”
Before he’d even finished you cried out under him, gripping him tight, your body trembling as the string snapped and lighting coursed through you, Pero’s thick cock driving hard into you, pushing your pleasure higher as he gasped and grunted. With a cry he broke, a loud groan, and he spilled himself inside, your legs like a vice around his waist as he rocked himself deeper.
He was heavy on top of you, the warm sweat of his torso gliding against your own chest as you buried your face against his neck and took long, deep breaths.
“Pero…my love…” you whispered softly into his ear, his wet kiss against your own neck was his exhausted response as he slowly came down from his high. Your arms were still wrapped tight around him, as were your legs, locking him in place. Not that he wanted to leave, he would stay here, in this bed, between your legs, until moss grew on him like an old boulder that no farmer could move.
He was home.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Endless miles stretched out behind them, thousands if they cared to count them. Pero did not. All he could see was the white cliffs in front of the ship, like a beacon, a sign that their long journey was finally coming to an end.
They returned, not as poor as they’d set out, but not as rich as they thought they’d be, but the only thing that mattered to Pero was that he was returning. He’d fought with his friend, felt betrayed by him, even abandoned him in the end, so strong was his need to return home. It had almost cost him his life, caught by the very army he was trying to escape as he left William behind, brought back and then thrown in chains. He thought he’d die there, locked up in a dungeon, never seeing you again.
It burned in his chest as the chains gnawed at his wrists, to never see you again, to leave you behind in this world without a word. He could see your face as he closed his eyes, conjured it up in his mind and remembered the tears clinging to your lashes as he pulled back one final time and turned for his horse. Riches or not, he was a damn fool for leaving you, he should’ve been content with what he had.
In the end it was only by the grace of God, or maybe by William’s good heart, that he’d been freed by the very friend he’d betrayed and allowed to leave and make the long journey home.
Now he stood on solid ground again, readying his horse for the final stretch home.
Home.
A word he’d never thought he’d be able to say and for it to mean something worth fighting for. A woman he loved. A house where he could keep her warm and protected. A place to raise a family.
Home. He was going home. He knew he never should’ve left.
The last ride was easy and he drove his horse fast, the afternoon barely past its prime as he saw the cottage at the end of the path, tucked in among the heavy oak trees. It looked well kept, but the door was shut tight and no animals roamed around the yard.
“Mi amor!” he called, spurring his horse on for the last few yards, “Mi amor!” he called again as he swung himself from the saddle.
But the door was shut tight and wouldn’t budge and a lap around the small house showed him that it was indeed as empty as it looked. He mounted his horse again, not yet uneasy, and set a fast pace down the lane, towards your father’s farm a mile through the forest.
Here there was life at least, chickens in the yard, a dog pulling on its leash and the door open. Again he swung himself from the saddle, throwing the reins around the gate post and striding forward.
“Stay back!”
Your sword was raised. Your sword? No, his sword, the one he’d left with you. Held up by you now, threatening him to not take another step forward.
“Mi amor, it’s me, Pero,” he smiled, spreading his arms wide and taking long strides to you, wanting nothing more than to pull you into his arms and feel your soft body melt against his after so many months.
“Stay back!” you snarled, taking a step back and settling into the fighting stance he’d taught you and Pero floundered, stopping in his tracks.
“Amor…Have I changed that much? Don’t you know your husband?”
“I don’t have a husband,” you replied, your sword still raised, “Now, leave before I set the dogs on you!”
Pero felt a cold dread rise in his chest, confusion clouding his mind, he didn’t understand why you didn’t know him and he dropped his arms, his face a pained mask.
“Mi amor, it’s me, I left a year ago on a foolish mission, you were my wife when I left and I have fought so hard all this time to get back to you and…” he trailed off as your eyes showed no recognition, no flash of relief. Just a hard stare at him.
“Tovar!”
A voice called out, an elderly man coming around the corner of the cottage, his white hair in tufts around his ears and neck and his face concerned.
“Tovar, it’s good to see you safe after all this time, my boy!”
The man forced a pained smile at Pero before he reached you.
“Daughter, lower your sword, he is a friend, he just hadn’t been past here in some time,” the old man put his hand on your arm and gently made you lower the sword, “Go inside and make sure the stew is not burning, I will speak with Tovar and join you shortly.”
Pero looked on in confusion as you sheathed the sword, smiled at your father and turned back into the cottage.
“John, tell me what’s going on, why does my wife not know me?”
“Come with me,” he replied and gestured towards the edge of the farm yard, the low stone wall serving as a seat as he sank down. Pero remained standing, glancing back at the cottage. Part of him wanted to storm into the cottage and grab you, shake you and make you see him, see him, your husband. But John’s hand landed on his arm and pulled his attention back to the old man.
“It began not long after you and William left, her memories have been slowly going and neither the priest nor the physician know why or what caused it.”
“What do you mean, her memories are going? She doesn’t know me?” Pero gripped the handle of his sword, not a threat, just a comfort, to hold on to something familiar as he rubbed his thumb over the pommel, “I am her husband, she loves me, how can she forget me?”
“I don’t know, Pero,” John sighed, rubbing his weathered hand over his face as he shook his head, “she just doesn’t. And it’s not just you, she seems to forget most new things from one day to the next, a new neighbour, the cow giving birth to a new calf, selling a few of the chickens, she just forgets,” he looked over at the cottage where a thin tendril of smoke rose slowly from the short chimney, “She remembers her childhood, her brother and mother dying, after that it all becomes hazy.”
John looked up at Pero again and Pero could see the toll the past year had taken on his father-in-law as pain flashed across his face, his usually bright eyes sunken and dark.
“I’m sorry, son, she doesn’t even remember meeting you, nothing of your life together, and not you leaving.”
It hits him like a dagger to the chest, piercing in its pain and wrenching his chest open; he left, she begged him not to, but he left and this is his punishment. Her mind is protecting her from the pain he caused. With a groan he turns around, sinking down on the wall, his head buried in his hands, it feels as if his throat is closing up, a sob tearing its way up, like broken glass cutting him open.
“I left her,” he groaned, choking around his words, “She begged me not to go, that last night before I left, and I thought I had to and left her anyway. I broke her heart and this is my punishment, her mind has removed me from her so she doesn’t have to live with my betrayal.”
“Son…” John said, his voice choking too, but he put his hand on the younger man’s shoulder, “We do not know the will of the Lord, you did what you thought was best.”
The hand on Pero’s shoulder burned like fire, guilt over taking him and he stumbled to his feet, shaking off the other man’s grip with a shrug.
“I’ll leave, it’s for the best,” he replied, striding towards his horse without looking back, his jaw tight around his words, “Take care of her for me.”
“Tovar, wait,” John called after him and hurried to his feet. He grabbed the reins of the horse just as Pero swung himself into the saddle, “She loves you, still. I know she does, she just needs to remember you.”
“Remember how I broke her heart and left her? What kind of a husband was I? No,” Pero shook his head and gathered the reins, making John let go of them, “Let her have a good life without me.”
The door of the cottage creaked as he spoke the last words, making him look up towards it. You were standing in the opening, an empty water bucket in your hand, your eyes on him.
“Are you really my husband?” you asked, glancing over at your father, but finding Pero’s eyes again. Pero felt his throat close up again as he saw the way you looked at him, a complete stranger, not a trace of recognition.
He just nodded in response, not trusting his voice.
“He is, my dear,” John replied in his stead,  “Do you remember me telling you about him when your mind first started to go?”
You shook your head at that, your eyes still on Pero.
“I’m leaving,” he said, a deep furrow in his brow as he ruefully shook his head, “I caused you both enough hurt.” He nudged his horse to turn around, walking it through the gate and out onto the road, avoiding John’s look of pity.
“Wait!”
The call came just as he was about to spur his horse on, away from your empty stare.
“Wait,” you called, hurrying after him, stopping as he halted his horse and turned in the saddle. You came up to stand by its neck, looking up at him, “Stay at least the night, I…I know I lost so many memories, but...if you’re my husband then you should stay, maybe something will come back.”
“No,” he shook his head, looking away from you and down the road, “I caused too much harm, I don’t want you to have to relive the pain I caused you.”
“Please, my life has been cut in half, I can’t remember it, but I know something big is missing. I will gladly take the pain again if I can have the rest of my life back,” you put your hand on his horse’s neck, tilting your face up to him as you waited for his reply, “Please.”
He couldn’t resist looking down at you and he felt his resolve weaken as your eyes met his. Such a familiar face, the one he loved so deeply. The colour of your eyes was seared into his mind, the small imperfections on your cheeks that he’d mapped with his lips so many nights, the shape of your perfect nose that he’d traced with his calloused fingers when you complained that it was all wrong. So many long, cold nights, picturing this face in his mind’s eye as he tried to do what he thought was right, the desperate moments when he thought he wasn’t coming back to you at all. Facing monsters from nightmares in overwhelming numbers, even as he fought for his life, this face was floating before him. You were the one he was fighting so hard to get home to.
Now you were looking back at him, pleading with him, and he knew he had no choice. The last time he denied your request, he’d almost lost his life and you’d lost your memories of him. He would stay. The pain he would feel at seeing you look at him like a stranger would be a small price to pay compared to the pain he’d put you through with his greed and stubbornness.
He gave you a nod, a short movement of his head as you held his gaze. He searched in vain for a glimmer of recognition, a flash of the woman you were before he left, but there was nothing. Just a small, uncertain smile as you dropped your hand from his horse’s neck and took a few steps back.
“Thank you,” you mumbled, glancing back at your father, “my father will be glad to have you with us too, he’s probably tried to make me remember you so many times.”
Pero slid off the back of his horse and took hold of the reins as he turned to you. His rough fingernails dug into the palm of his hand as he clenched his fist, the familiar scent of your skin washing over him as he got closer. He could feel every bone in his body aching to reach out and pull you into his arm, bury his nose in the soft skin of your neck and breathe you in, feel your hands on him again. He could feel himself torn in two; the urge to bolt when you took a step back from him, the need to stay near and never leave again.
“Amor…” he mumbled, tearing his eyes away from you as you took another step back, the pain and emotion plain on his face.
“I’m…I’m sorry…” you whispered, “I don’t know what that means…”
For a few moments you looked at him as he refused to meet your eyes again, his gaze wavering as his hand closed around the reins of his horse. His knuckles were pulled taught, the tension in his still form clear, and you took another step back.
“Please, put your horse away and I’ll heat up water for you to wash. Father said you’ve travelled far, you must be weary. There's good stew cooking too,” you raised your hand and gently put it on the neck of his horse, “Come, please.”
He followed you into the house once he’d put the horse away, your father leaving to bring the small herd of cows in for the evening. Water was heating over the fire and you mixed it with the cooler water from the barrel as Pero stepped over the threshold with his heavy saddle bags by his side.
“You live with your father now,” he said, a statement rather than a question, but you nodded, wiping your hands and turning to the stew pot.
“Yes, well, I don’t remember living anywhere else but he tells me the cottage down the road is where I lived before…” you trailed off, putting your hand to your temple as your brow furrowed, screwing up your eyes as if trying to search for a memory. Pero shifted by the door and you turned to him with a surprised look on your face.
“I-I guess…that’s where we lived?” you asked and a look of anguish flashed across his face.
“Yes….yes, we lived there,” he replied, still holding his heavy bags, looking like he was almost on the verge of leaving again. “We moved there on our wedding day and I… Do you ever visit it now?”
You shook your head but hesitated, “Never…but maybe I have been back, but I forget from one day to the next, I know it’s there but if I see it now, it’s like I see it for the first time.”
Pero dropped his bags on the floor and rubbed his hand over his face, his shoulders slumped as if under a tremendous weight.
“Amor…” he said to the floor before looking up at you again, “I don’t know if I can do this. We lived there, you and me, they were the happiest days of my wretched life, and now it’s all been taken from us. You look at me like a stranger and I can’t stand it.”
You didn’t know what to say, the man in front of you was a stranger, nothing in his voice or face was familiar. The only reason you asked him to stay was your father telling you he was your husband, and that feeling in your chest of something missing, that empty space in your mind, a big piece of your life’s memories missing.
“I’m sorry…” you said again, but he shook his head.
“Don’t. It’s my fault, I did this to you. And I’m staying until you tell me to leave.”
“I might not remember you in the morning,” you said, “I often forget meeting new people.”
New people
It cut through him like the sharpest blade. He’s ‘new people’ to you now, not your husband, or even a friend. Just a stranger in your house.
He nodded at the large bowl that you’d filled with water, “I’ll get cleaned up now, do you want me to go outside?”
The cottage was familiar, he’d spent much time here before the wedding, and not much had changed in the year he’d been gone. It had only two rooms, and he presumed you were sleeping in the bed nook against the back wall, your father in the other room. The small cottage didn’t hold much space for privacy.
You shook your head and turned back to the fire, “I’ll keep my back turned, I need to watch the stew.”
He stared at you for a beat, the achingly familiar shape of your shoulders, your hips and the way you cocked one out to the side as you leaned forward over the large pot. How many times hadn’t he come up behind you, run his hands over your soft shapes, pushed your hair to the side and pressed kisses to your neck as you giggled at the way his beard tickled your skin. Now you stood with your back to him to not see as he pulled off his clothes, something you’d done to him almost every night. Unlaced his shirt, pulled it from his breeches and caressed his skin with your soft hands.
The dirty shirt dropped to the floor with a soft sound and you heard him wring the washcloth as you added the last of the herbs to the stew. You couldn’t help yourself, you glanced over your shoulder and stole a look at him. He was a stranger, but supposedly your husband, and either way, he was handsome. Under that layer of grime and sweat, he was a striking man, unlike any you’d ever seen. Or, at least, unlike anyone your mind would let you remember. So you glanced back at him and was struck almost dumb by the sight. Broad shoulders, a muscular back tapering into narrow hips where his breeches hung low as he rubbed the washcloth over his abdomen.
The back of his neck was tanned golden, his back lighter and marred by a long scar that shone bright in the dim light. It looked like a painful injury, old and long since healed over, and you wondered if he’d ever told you what had happened to him. Had you run your fingers over as he told you the story? You realised you must’ve spent countless nights next to this man in your marital bed, his hands on you, your hands on him. This man, this stranger in your father’s house, would know you better than anyone else, every inch of your body and your most intimate secrets.
As if he could sense your eyes on him, he glanced back over his shoulder and met your eyes, and he seemed to hold his breath for a moment. Then he turned fully to face you, the washcloth forgotten in his hand.
“Amor…” he whispered and you bit back a sudden sob. His eyes were so hopeful, you wanted nothing more than to remember him, to have all the memories of him flood back into your mind as he dropped the washcloth and took two quick steps across the floor.
“I don’t remember,” you sobbed as his arms wrapped around you, “I don’t remember anything about you.”
He didn’t say anything, but he didn’t let you go. Instead he let you sob against his chest, holding you close as he rested his chin on your head. His heart was beating wildly, thrumming so hard you could hear it as you pressed your cheek against him, and even though he was a stranger, his arms felt safe around you, the scent of his skin comforting and soothing.
With a small movement he rubbed your back, slowly up and down, “It will come back, amor, it will. And if it doesn’t, I will make you fall in love with me again and tell you about all the memories we have.”
You nodded against his chest, your sobs subsiding, but you didn’t pull away from him, and he didn’t let his arms drop. He held you just as tight, reluctant to give up the feeling of having you in his arms again after all he endured to get back to you.
“Although…I’m still not sure how I made a woman like you fall in love with a reckless mercenary like me, how will I manage that again?” he said, a small smile to his voice and you looked up at him. He’d lifted his chin from your head and was looking at you with a sad smile, tears clinging to his dark lashes.
“Promise me you’ll try,” you said, your voice low and broken.
“Every day for the rest of my life, amor,” he whispered, “I will make you fall in love with me again and then we can make all those memories one more time.”

Simon.
Part 5
Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 - Part 4 - Part 6 - Part 7 - Part 8 - Part 9 - Part 10 - Part 11 - Part 12 - Part 13
Character: Simon Riley / Ghost
Content: Biker! Ghost x Fem! Reader, strangers to lovers, fluff, civilian au
Note: Enjoy Simon being a gentleman in this part 😉. I can't find a nice pic to post here so maybe I'll skip that. Anyway, just wanted to let y'all know that in this fic, reader is 25 years old and Simon is 28.
“I hate to sail on this rotten tub, leave her Johnny, leave- oi, ye cannae be serious. Take off that mask!”
Johnny's singing was interrupted by Simon, who was just entering his living room, dressed and ready to leave to meet ____. He looked at the agitated Johnny, who was now sitting up straight on the couch.
“What d'you mean?” Simon asked, pretending not to have understood or heard his friend.
“The maaask. Take it off,” Johnny ordered, gesticulating wildly, “Why'd ye want tae wear it if ye showed yer face to her already?”
Simon rolled his eyes, now taking off the mask, making Johnny smile. He settled back on the couch comfortably. “That's more like it. Oh, also… Catch.” Johnny stuffed his hand in his pocket and threw something at Simon, which he caught.
It was a condom.
“Johnny! I don't fucking need this!” Simon roared, throwing back the contraceptive, which hit his friend in the face and fell on his lap.
“Ye don't? So yer gonna rrrrrawdog her then, are ye, ye animal?” Johnny smirked, clearly trying to annoy Simon, especially by rolling his r's more than usual.
“Johnny…” Simon's voice lowered to a threatening growl.
The room thundered with Johnny's laughter; having known Simon too long, he wasn't threatened by him, but he relented regardless, not wanting him to be in a bad mood before meeting his crush. “Okay, okay, if ye have nae use for a condom, I have something better for ye.” He beckoned his friend to sit with him on the couch.
“This better be good.” Simon narrowed his eyes, noting a mischievous glint in his best friend's eyes as he sat down.
“She's an author, yeah? Those book lassies will love this. I'll tell ye.”
In the meantime, Simon's crush found herself in front of her mirror getting dolled up by her best friend, Lindsey, who turned the bathroom into a university lecture hall.
“Tell you what, babe,” said she as she very lightly brushed some blush on her friend's cheeks, “Boys will never make the first move, yeah? So you have to openly flirt with them, right? You literally have to hold up a sign at them telling them you're interested.”
____ tried to chuckle, but Lindsey lightly slapped her shoulder. “Don't move yet,” she ordered, throwing her long, curly red hair over her shoulder.
Lindsey finished up the simple, natural looking makeup look and spritzed some setting spray on her friend's face. ____ still didn't dare move, because Lindsey was checking for any mistakes, scanning with her big green eyes. A bit of an odd thing to do, especially after putting the setting spray.
“Lovely!” she exclaimed, slamming down the can of setting spray on the bathroom counter, “Now you can move.”
While ____ admired herself and Lindsey's makeup skills in the mirror, Lindsey watched, her smile slowly disappearing; her shoulders slumped slightly as she moved behind her friend, giving her a worried look in the mirror.
“What's wrong, Linny?” she asked, noticing the look.
“This Simon guy… Is he really good?” Lindsey whispered, lightly squeezing the other's shoulders while glancing at the phone on the bathroom counter. “He's not like the other guy, right?”
____’s brows furrowed slightly. She placed her hand over Lindsey's and squeezed it. “Don't worry, Simon's nice, and we're actually a lot closer in age, if that's what worries you.”
Lindsey was relieved about the smaller age gap, but didn't look completely convinced. She said, “He's nice so far. You do know that a crush is a lack of information, right?”
The only infuriating thing about Lindsey was how she could get a little too realistic.
____ sighed. “Linny, that's the whole reason why I'm going to hang out with him: to find out if he's better than nice.”
Lindsey huffed, but nodded anyway. “Okay, but if anything happens, you know who to call.”
“You worry too much.”
“Because you're literally so hopeless when it comes to men.” Lindsey let out a chuckle as she lovingly wrapped her arms around her friend's neck and gave her a back hug. ____ leaned into it, grateful for the concern of her ever worrying friend.
It was soon time to leave. The two ladies headed downstairs to the entrance of the building, where ____ was to wait for Simon to pick her up. Since Lindsey had other plans, she couldn't wait with her friend, and had to go.
And so did ____ wait by herself, watching the cars go by on the glistening, wet streets. The night air was cold from an earlier rain, and the jacket in her hands seemed to be calling her to wear it and feel warm.
“I hope he won't find it weird if I wear his jacket,” she thought as she put the garment on after much mental debate. The warmth immediately silenced her thoughts, and she just decided to enjoy it while it lasted.
Before long, Simon pulled up to the entrance, but the pillion was occupied by an unfamiliar man with a cheeky smile and a short, dark brown mohawk. As he got off, he whispered something to Simon and then turned around. The man grinned at the waiting lady and then walked off. She, confused, returned the gesture with a little smile of her own and then walked up to Simon.
“Who was that?” she asked as soon as she was near the motorcycle.
“Don't mind him. He's my friend, Johnny. I had to drop him off around here since he had some stuff to do, so…” he shrugged. “Were you waiting long?”
She smiled. “Not at all. I came out just five minutes ago.”
“Brilliant,” he said with a nod and then took notice of her outfit. “You're wearing my jacket,” he observed, sounding amused.
She noticed his cheeks going up from behind his mask; a smile. “Uh, yeah,” she answered, blushing a little, “I'm sorry, I felt a little cold so I put it on.”
“No worries.” His voice mellowed as he stared at her, taking in the sight of her in his jacket, “Keep it on. You look good in it.”
“Thanks,” she grinned, now taking hold of his shoulder as she got up on the pillion.
Johnny was in the distance, watching the two with wide smiles. He even managed to secretly snap a few photos of them as they talked so that he could tease Simon with it later.
“Hey you! Delete that picture right now!” a high pitched voice ordered behind Johnny, making him flinch in surprise.
He immediately turned around, but saw nobody. But when he looked down, he saw a little lady in front of him, arms crossed and staring at him with furrowed brows.
Johnny, for a moment, was taken in by her beauty. Her pale face was dotted with red freckles, more intense on her cheeks, and her hair was a deep red like the color of the setting sun, loosely coiled like curled satin ribbons. Her flashing eyes were a light green, the color of grass reflecting evening sunlight.
It took a moment for him to regain himself, and when he did, he cleared his throat, saying, “Lassie, that's my friend there,” he answered, pointing to Simon, “I'm gonna tease him with this photo. I'm no’ gonna delete it.”
“And that girl with him is my friend,” she declared, “And I don't really trust that guy she's going out with today.”
Johnny wasn't sure what prompted her to say that, but his eyebrows rose with intrigue anyway.
“Small world,” he remarked and then put forward a proposal with a wide grin, “Tell ye wit, wee lassie, we can dae something together. Let's both stalk them. Ye get to see my lad Simon in a good light, and I get to take some candids of them, yeah? Wit dae ye think?” He opened both his hands out to her and batted his eyelids, hoping she would accept.
“No!” she exclaimed, crossing her arms, “It's not good to stalk.”
Johnny groaned. “But dinnae ye want tae see if Simon is good for yer best friend? This is a win-win situation! I can show ye all his good points!”
“You're only saying that because you're his friend,” she challenged.
“No, no, listen here lassie,” he waved his hand, now meeting her eye, “I've known Simon since we were wee lads. I know everything about him, and I can assure ye that he's good. Let him have a chance, won't ye?”
The little lady paused. Was she going to trust him? While she wanted her friend to be happy, she didn't want to sabotage her friend's chances with her crush because of her incessant worrying.
Johnny could see her mental debate and smirked at how funny her thoughtful face looked; it was a sneer with furrowed brows, while her fingers tapped over her crossed arms. She eventually relented.
“Perfect! Now we go stalk them.” He held out his hand to her. “By the way, I'm John, or Johnny.”
She cautiously took his hand and shook it, answering, “Lindsey.”
Simon and ____ already reached the restaurant they decided to have dinner in. He led her to a quieter part of the establishment where they could chat in peace, and just as she was about to pull out her chair to sit, he held out his hand to stop her.
“Allow me,” he smiled and pulled out the chair for her.
Her face glowed with joy and excitement at this display of chivalry as she sat down. Her reaction made him smirk to himself, mentally thanking Johnny for this important tip.
“You're such a gentleman,” she praised, smiling widely as she watched him take his seat opposite to her, “I know we're in the age of the strong, independent woman, but wow, it's actually really nice to be treated like this.”
Her blushes were encouragement enough, and he smiled.
“Thank you, I try,” he bragged. “Do you normally like this sort of thing? Or do you like it from me?” he asked with a chuckle, leaning forward and resting his elbows on the table.
She laughed, not yet willing to admit that she liked it especially from him. She answered, “I like it generally. It’s just nice to know that someone is thoughtful enough to do a gesture like that, you know? Even though it was the standard back in the day.”
Simon took mental note of that.
Any further conversation was interrupted when a waiter brought them two menus and glasses of water. While the two pored over the laminated card to decide what to get, the lady was momentarily distracted by the sight of the man in front of her.
He wore a black button up shirt, the sleeves of which were rolled up his thick forearm, the rest of it tightening around his flexed biceps; the unbuttoned collar displayed his neck and a metal chain underneath, which made her wonder what was dangling at the end of it. He wore blue chinos, and black sneakers. It was the best casual outfit he could put together with Johnny's help.
The outfit, in addition to his handsome, unobscured face was a treat to sore eyes. She couldn't help but allow her eye to linger on the curious scar on his cheek, and to wonder about the cause of it.
Simon noticed her gaze and he met her eyes with a cheeky smile. “You're staring,” he told her.
One corner of her lip tugged upwards in a sheepish smirk. “I was just thinking your outfit looks really nice.”
“Thank you, I try,” he echoed his earlier line with a smirk and a proud shrug, but really, he would've been hopeless without Johnny giving him such meticulous advice on the basic rules of dressing well. “You look nice too,” he decided to turn the tables on her, “Especially wearing that.” He pointed at his jacket that she was still wearing.
She blushed at that. “I can't take it off. It's nice and toasty in here.”
“I don't mind you wearing it for the rest of the evening, so long as you give it back later. It's my favourite.”
She grinned. “I'll take good care of it.”
The waiter came by again, and the two placed an order for a 12 inch pizza to share and some drinks.
Small talk was made, until it led to the topic of her novel.
“I only just finished reading Firefly Trails a couple days ago and I must say that you're a brilliant author,” Simon praised, “I could not have expected a plot twist when Adelheid was betrayed by Elystran just to get a hold of the magical fireflies.”
The lady snorted proudly and jokingly patted herself on the back. “You can count on me to make a good plot twist.”
“No, but seriously. I really didn't see it coming,” Simon leaned forward slightly with eagerness twinkling in his dark eyes, “You see a friend betraying someone all the time in the media, yeah? But this one was so unexpected, especially when Elystran stole the bottle of captive fireflies from Adelheid. It's really awful how he had no remorse in potentially letting her die without a cure for her disease, just so he could save the kingdom he was going to rule. He was a very convincing actor.”
She found herself gazing at him as he went on with his long winded speech about Elystran, the anti-hero of her novel, who pretended to be Adelheid's close ally. It was heartwarming to her to see his enthusiasm for her work, but she also wondered if he resonated with Elystran in some way.
Simon's pale face was a little pink with exertion after the speech and he finally sat back, tugging at his collar and flapping his shirt. “A bit hot in here, innit?” he asked.
“The air con is working just fine. I think it's because of your passionate speech that you're feeling so hot,” she said with a grin.
Simon's pink face turned a hint more pink at the observation. He was usually reserved with people he knew a little less, but he hadn't realised how passionate and talkative he had gotten about a fictional character. He could attest this to the fact that she wrote so well as to stir his normally taciturn feelings. Art never stirred his soul, but if hers did, he was damned.
He nodded, admitting, “Well, it was because you write so well. Anyone who doesn't talk so passionately about it is missing a few bolts.”
The high regard in the compliment made her giggle. She rested her chin on her hand and looked teasingly at him, saying, “So, you told me that you're getting more into reading thanks to Firefly Trails.”
“I never wanted to be a reader, but it's all your fault now that you're turning me into one.” Simon unconsciously mirrored her as he smirked, returning her look with his playful sarcasm.
“I'm honored,” she grinned at him, “Do you want recommendations for more books?”
Simon pulled out his phone and opened the notes app. He handed the phone to her. “Fill my cup, darling.”
A wide smile graced her face as she excitedly snatched the phone and started typing away her list of recommended books. Simon watched her with wonder, smiling at her enthusiasm. He was truly interested in reading now, thanks to her, and to see her so excited about suggesting him more made him feel loved, in a way.
And the love of a woman was truly something different, even if it was just platonic.
He sighed as he stared at her, at how focused she was on typing out the list. When he thought of it, he couldn't really remember if he had a normal friendship with anyone of the opposite sex before, all thanks to his unhappy, troubled youth.
“By the way, Simon,” she called, now lifting her eyes from his phone, only to be met with his thoughtful thousand yard stare directed at her.
“Simonnnn, can you hear me?” she called again, snapping a finger in his face.
“Huh?” he blinked. “Oh, fuck. Sorry, I was just thinking of something.”
“It's alright,” she smiled, wondering what his stare meant. She asked, “I was wondering why you call me darling and love so often.”
His eyes rolled off elsewhere as he tried to think of an answer that wouldn't give away what he felt for her. “Well,” he began, voice quivering slightly, “It's just something I call the women in my life, yeah? Female friends and maybe family members. I think it’s also a British thing.” He shrugged.
It was only the partial truth.
“Hmm. I see,” she nodded, her eyes still glued to the phone. As she moved her hand to get a sip of the water, her finger accidentally swiped to the home screen of his phone, and she couldn't figure out where to go back to the notes app. The little mishap allowed her to take notice of his phone background, which was a closeup photo of a German Shepherd looking directly at the camera with its large, inquisitive eyes. She gave him his phone back, asking him to help her get back to the notes app.
“I just happened to see your home screen. Is that dog yours?” she asked as he gave the phone back to her, now displaying the notes app.
“My uncle's.”
“He's beautiful. What's his name?” she questioned, now getting back to typing out the book list.
“It's a female. Her name’s Riley.”
“Riley! Like your surname?”
“Yeah. I found her starved and thrown in a dumpster as a puppy, and I called my uncle to help me get her out. He adopted her and named her after me,” he said with a chuckle.
She smiled as she finished typing out the list and handed the phone back to him. “That's really nice, and really strange too, because my ex has a female German Shepherd named Riley too.”
Simon raised a brow as he took the phone and glanced at the list before keeping the device aside. “Chalk that off as a coincidence. I guess many people have German Shepherds named Riley. The name is quite common… I think,” he said. But the mention of the ex intrigued him. “You mentioned your ex. So, you've dated before, then?” he asked directly but casually, hoping he wasn't being too nosy.
She shrugged. “Yeah, one guy.”
“What happened with your ex, if you don't mind me asking?”
He saw that she stiffened slightly and looked away for a moment, clearly looking uncomfortable. He was so close to backing off when she answered him, “Well…” she paused to suck in a sharp breath through her teeth, “He was an older guy, and I happened to keep bumping into him at my local grocery store.”
He raised a brow, first of all at the fact that she dated someone older, and second of all, she met him at the grocery store, the least romantic place to find a boyfriend. But he didn't say anything and listened anyway.
“The first time we met, he mistook me for an employee and asked me where he could find the dog food,” she chuckled, “He was new to the area and didn't know where to find it in the grocery store, and I was also wearing something similar to the uniform of the store employees.”
“So you two hit it off then?”
“Yeah, after that, we'd have small talk, and he was actually quite charming. He asked me out on a date, we liked each other, and then we dated for two months.”
“Hm, that's not very long, innit?” he murmured, “How old were both of you?”
“I was nineteen and he was thirty-five.”
“Holy fuck,” his eyes widened slightly, “Nineteen? That's really young.” He then paused to count, “And you guys had a sixteen year age gap.”
Her cheeks warmed with embarrassment. “Yeah, I know, it's crazy.”
“You prefer older blokes then?” asked Simon, fiddling with his fingers as he leaned forward on the table, hoping she would refute it.
“Well no, but I was…” she sighed, “I was trying to figure out what sort of man I liked.”
“And your first choice was an older man,” he thought to himself, but didn't say it out loud. “Wasn't that potentially dangerous though? Sure, you weren't a minor, but you were still young.”
She sighed again, but heavier this time. “Yeah, it kind of messed me up a little.”
“It did? How?”
She told him about how he could get a little demanding when it came to spending time with him, as she was a budding author at the time, and was busy with writing a good piece that was worth publishing.
“Of course, even though I was busy, I tried my best to spend time with him. But he just wasn't satisfied. And since I lived at the dorm in uni, I had a curfew, but he would disregard it completely and beg me to stay and spend the night with him, when I wasn't comfortable with it yet. Thanks to that, just being around him ramped up my anxiety, and our relationship that was once enjoyable wasn't anymore.”
Simon felt tempted to ask if she had done anything intimate with her ex, but bit back, not wanting to come off as rude and intrusive. He listened with narrowed eyes and keen earnestness. “And so you broke up then?” he asked.
“Yeah, and it surprisingly went well. Both of us mutually agreed that the relationship wouldn't work out, and we parted ways.” She paused for a long time and Simon didn't break her spell of silence, sensing a struggle in her to say the next words. She finally continued, “I thought that that was the end of it, but lately he's been calling me again, asking me if we could get back together.”
Simon raised a brow again. “What? How daft is he? He has no shame groveling back to you.”
“Yeah… I spoke to him once to clearly tell him I wasn't interested anymore, but I don't think he understands.”
As if on cue, her phone started ringing. When she checked who was calling, she recognized the unsaved number immediately, having seen it several times. Her eyebrows furrowed slightly, feeling the same old anxious feeling rise from her chest to constrict her throat. “It's him,” she said, her voice quivering.
Simon held out his hand. “I'll speak to him.”
“Are you sure?” she asked frantically.
“I'm sure. Give it here before he cuts it,” he urged.
She hastily placed the ringing phone in his hand and he immediately picked it up.
“Hello, mate. ____’s boyfriend here. What do you want with my missus?” he asked calmly.
There was a brief silence.
“Simon?” asked the deep, rumbling, yet gentle voice on the other side.
The colour drained from Simon's face as he recognized the voice he knew and loved.
“Uncle John?”

Chapter Six - Váli Finding Love
It wasn't the first time he was watching. He always was. Since the day the Asgardian ambassador stepped through the doors of the palace - alongside his daughter. Váli knew - was very aware that this wasn't how a prince should act. Hiding behind the thick stone columns and trying to catch a few glimpses of the beautiful young woman with her long, black hair and breathtakingly blue eyes. And yet, he did it. Especially after his father had introduced them. An event, from which the memories stayed present in the forefront of his brain; doomed to never be erased or forgotten...
"Son, come in," the king spoke with a smile on his face. Váli had just accidentally bursted into the meeting his father had - unbeknownst to the prince. "Apologies, dad, I-I didn't mean to, uh, interrupt." He answered almost shyly; taking small steps closer. Loki met him halfway, placed a hand on his shoulder, "Don't be. You couldn't know." and guided him through the big room the king called his study; until they reached the table - and the guests. "I want you to meet our guests, Váli." Loki started, and as if on command, the man and young woman stood up from where they sat. "Let me introduce to you… The Asgardian ambassador Sir Larsson." The elder man took a bow. "It is a pleasure to finally meet you, my prince," he said; giving Váli a smile. "And this young lady is Sir Larsson's daughter, Asta," Loki continued; gesturing to Asta. Váli's eyes fell on the ambassador's daughter - and he was immediately smitten.
Asta curtsied, "Your highness." and addressed him. Váli felt instantly how his hands got sweaty and his cheeks red. The prince wasn't used to talk to women. Unlike his brother, he wasn't a womanizer. Well, Áki was technically speaking a maneater - but the point still stood. "I-It's a, uh, pleasure to make y-your acquaintance, L-Lady Asta," Váli stammered out; internally cursing at how much of a fool he made out of himself.
That was the first time Váli was eye-to-eye with the beautiful, young lady - and he wasn't able to let go since. Whenever he saw her, it just sparked something within him... Interest. Not that Váli didn't have several love interests before, but the young prince was way too shy to make a move on them - and it was going to go the exact same way with Asta. That's what Váli feared. Hence, he was certain of it - if not a wonder was going to happen…
Once more, the prince lurked carefully around the column - but to his surprise, nobody was there anymore. Not the ambassador, not Asta, nor his father. He must've sunken so deep in thoughts, that he missed them leaving... He shrugged his shoulders; turned to leave - and almost crashed against another body. The prince's eyes widened to the size of plates, when his brain registered who exactly was standing right in front of him. "Hello, prince Váli." Asta.
"L-Lady A-Asta, h-hello, I-I..." He swallowed hard; knowing that he got literally caught in the act. "I-I, uh, it's not... Not what it looks like! I-I mean, yes, it is - but also not! I totally wasn't spying!" Váli stammered; trying to helplessly explain this situation. Asta raised an eyebrow, definitely confused. "I-I wanted to talk to my father, I... Excuse m-me." Before the situation could get even more unpleasant, Váli escaped and literally ran away.
After disappearing in the safety of his chambers, he pressed his back against the door; his head hitting the rich wood with a gentle thud. He had made a fool out of himself - like so often, when it came to talk to women, and especially Asta.
Tumblr media
The days passed by, and Váli couldn't stop thinking about Asta - like usually. But whenever he saw her somewhere in the palace, he avoided her; too afraid of another collision. But he also didn't want to just 'give up on her', so the prince decided to do something he actually never wanted to do - but he saw no other way...
On the following day, he made his way to the royal training grounds. It was beautiful outside. The sun was shining and a soft breeze rustled the trees of Jotunheim. The perfect day for training. Váli wasn't there to train, though - but he knew who else was definitely there to train... And he was right. In the distance, he already saw him, currently lifting weights in the form of stones. To Váli's relief, nobody else seemed to be around, so he took his opportunity and approached his twin brother.
"Áki?" The warrior lifted his head at the call of his name; ruby eyes meeting Y/E/C ones. "Vál, hey. What are you doing here, huh? I highly doubt that you came here to train, do you?" Váli shook his head; coming to stand beside his bulkier twin. "No, I... Uh, I came here, because I need your help." Áki lifted a prettily heavy looking stone high up in the air, while eying his brother suspiciously. "My help?" "Yeah..." "And you need my help for...?" "I, uh, I..." "Vál... Stop beating about the bush and tell me what you need. We are brothers, for Odin's sake! No need to be ashamed." Váli sighed and ran a hand through his thick, blonde curls. "I, uh, need your help with..." "With?" "With a girl," he whispered, but Áki understood him anyways, and looked at his twin with wide eyes. "A girl?" "Yes, a girl." A small giggle escaped the warrior's lips, before he started to smile smugly; eyebrows waggling. "Oh.Ho.Ho! Look at that... My brother's got his eyes on a girl! Is it a wonder? Perhaps!" "Shut up." Váli grumbled and crossed his arms over his chest. That was exactly the reason, why Váli didn't talk about such things with his brother... He'd only tease him to death.
Áki let the stone fall to the ground and hit Váli's arm in a brotherly way, but this gesture made him stumble forwards and almost caused him to kiss the sandy ground. "Oh, come on, Vál! You know I am only teasing you. Now... How can I help you?" Rubbing his arm, the prince turned to face the other prince again. "I... I need you to teach me how to flirt and, uh, gain her attention. Please? I-I mean you are maneater - kind of, and I am... just me, you know. And whatever you did, it worked with Sađi, so please... Help me?"
Áki blinked. "I already told you, I was going to help you, but wow... That sounds really desperate, brother. But don't fret! We are going to make this!" Áki announced, smiling and wrapped his arm around his shorter sibling. "Now, for starters, I need to know which lady we are talking about. Do I know her?" Váli nodded. "Y-Yes. It's Lady Asta." Once more the warrior's eyes widened. "The ambassador's daughter?!" He wolf-whistled. "She's a damn fine woman, brother. You have a good taste; I must give you that. If I were into women, I'd definitely cast an eye on her, too. Lucky for you, that I am not." The shy prince's cheeks reddened. "You, uh, think so?" Áki smiled. "Yes, I do! Now, let's see how you can impress her, eh?" Váli nodded; fumbling nervously with his fingers, while Áki tapped his chin in a thinking manner. "Why don't you ask her, if she wants to accompany you to the ball next week? You can talk, dance..." He started, then waggled his eyebrows again. "... kiss." "Áki!" "What?!" "It's not really appropriate to kiss in front of all those... people!" The warrior shrugged his shoulders. "It never bothered mom and dad, did it?" "Yes, but mom and dad are married!" Áki shook his head, chuckling. "You are so... uptight! Loosen up a bit!" "Can we stop bickering and start... working on my flirting skills, please?" "Ahh, yes! For sure!" The warrior positioned himself; standing a few feet away from his twin.
"Now, let's see... Pretend I'm Asta and you want me to notice you." Váli grimaced. "Really? Do we have to do that on such an embarrassing way?" Áki snorted. "You wanted me to help you, so... Come on! Show me what you got!" The young man sighed, but knew that his brother was right.
Taking a deep breath, he approached Áki - who immediately stopped him again. "No, no, no," he exclaimed; shaking his head. "What?" "Your walk. It's so... tense and stiff. It looks like you've got a stick up your ass. Again… Loosen up! You have to be more... relaxed!" Váli swallowed; but nodded. "O-Okay, okay... I'll try." The prince did try, but he wasn't very successful - let's put it that way. Perhaps the way he walked was better, but the flirting? Definitely not.
"Good evening, Lady Asta. You must be a magician. Because any time I look at you, everyone else disappears."
Áki grimaced, "That's the best you've got?" then shook his head. "No. Try again." Váli nodded obediently and took a few steps back, only to walk them forwards again.
"Good evening, Lady Asta," the prince repeated; even taking a bow. "Is it possible that you are a rose? Because I want to pick you."
The warrior cringed. "Norns, no. Váli that's awful. Where did you get those lines from, huh?" "I overheard a few of our people on the market." Áki let out a deep breath. "Well, seemingly those people don't know how to flirt... You need something with more... impact. You want to impress her. Not scare her off. Try again."
And again, Váli started another try. "Good evening, Lady Asta. I was wondering... If I were the king, and you were the queen, in the cosmic game of chess, would you mate with me?"
Áki's eyes widened. "Wait, what?! Bro, you're confusing me." Váli blinked. "W-Why?" Áki took a deep breath; trying to maintain his sanity. "Alright, alright... We need to get this straight... You do wish to court Asta, right? Or do you wish to bed her?" Váli's cheeks turned beet red at his brother's words. "What?!" He shrieked. "I-I firstly want her to know of my mere existence!" The warrior with the long, black hair blinked; was even more confused. "But I thought you met her already?" "Yes, but... Not the way I want to." "Norns, give me strength," whispered Áki; pinching the bridge of his nose. "Okay, okay. Your 'flirtations' won't work. I can see that already. I think we have to try something else. Just... ask me for a dance straight away." "Straight away??" "Straight away." "A-Alright."
Both princes took positions and Váli started another try; this time asking 'Asta' straight away.
"Greetings, Lady Asta. May I ask for your hand in the next dance?" Áki raised an eyebrow; smirking. "You're probably going to give that poor woman a heart attack with that, but it's definitely better than the first few tries. Try again."
After another few tries and advices from his brother, Váli was ready - according to Áki. Being now more self-confident, the prince looked forward to the ball.
Tumblr media
Three days later, the big day had arrived. The kingdom was bustling with maids and servants; everybody helping to get the palace ready. It was one of the biggest balls, after all. Váli, though, didn't let the stress get to him. He tried to stay calm and keep his nervosity at bay. He was reading almost the whole day; hid in the little secret room of the library. It was his safe space after all. But unfortunately, time passed anyway, and so it was time for him to get ready in the early evening as well.
The prince took a bath and got dressed in the best Asgardian robes he owned. While his brother preferred the Jotunheim fashion more - like their father, Váli preferred more the clothes that the Æsir wore - like their mother.
When Váli made his way to the grand ball room of the palace in Jotunheim, the ball was already in full swing. A lot of guests from each and every realm had already arrived; were dancing, talking and eating. Music played and it smelled delicious. The prince looked around, to check if Lady Asta was here already. He saw everybody but her. His brother, who was leaning casually against one of the front columns; dressed in his warrior garments and shamelessly kissing Sađi - who seemed to have a break at the moment, given the fact that he wore his cooking attire. Yes, the young Jotun had made it and was now the second chef cook.
Váli smiled. Seeing his brother so happy, made him happy as well.
Then his gaze landed on the very top of the ball room, where a pedestal was. Upon that pedestal were two beautifully crafted thrones, made out of stone - and on those thrones sat his parents. Of course. They were the king and queen, after all. The prince decided - how it was adequate, to greet his mother and father. So, he made his way across the hall; always watching out for Asta.
At the feet of the pedestal were standing two guards - for protection, for sure. When they saw the crown prince approaching, they took a bow and let him pass without saying a word.
You had already seen your son coming your way and welcomed him with a bright smile. "Váli, my dear," you greeted him and rose from your throne to wrap him up in a hug. You frankly didn't care in that moment, if it was appropriate or not. "Hello, mom." He hugged you back and pressed a kiss to your cheek. "Are you alright? I haven't seen you the whole day..." The prince could hear the worry, which was undoubtedly swinging within your voice. "Of course. Please do not worry. I just spent the whole day in the library, reading." You let go of him again, still smiling and sat back down on your throne. "I thought so." Váli gave you a smile as well and turned to the right.
"Dad." Loki - in all his Jotun glory, with the signature horns made out of ice on his head smiled and gave him a nod. "Son." It may have been a short conversation, but not less meaningful.
"Have you, uhm, seen Lady Asta? Is she and her father here already?" You exchanged a look with your husband. "No, son, I haven't, I'm sorry. What about you, love?" You shook your head. "No, me neither." It hadn't slipped your notice, that Váli's demeanour had shifted all of a sudden. He was fumbling with his fingers and his cheeks had become slightly red. He seemed nervous and a bit shaky. "But I'm sure they'll arrive soon. Why?" "Oh, uh, just asking, mom. I'll get myself a goblet of wine now. See you later." Before you could ask him more, Váli fled; clearly avoiding this conversation.
You watched him leave; almost hastily stumbling down the few steps, before he vanished in the crowd. Oh, you definitely knew what was going on here. Smirking, you reached over and felt for Loki's hand. After being married for such a long time, the king knew exactly what you wanted and took your hand; letting your fingers slip through his. "I think our other son is in love as well." "Mhm. He definitely is," answered Loki. "You saw it too?" Finally looking at you, he nodded. An amused smile was on his face. "Of course, my queen. And besides... Váli usually never drinks wine. It's quite rare for him to drink alcohol." You giggled, nodding as well. "I thought so, too. It's very sweet, though, don't you think?" "I agree, love. Asta is a fine lady. I'd happily take her as my daughter-in-law." "Me too."
Tumblr media
A whole goblet of wine later, Váli finally saw Asta and her father. Swallowing hard, he knew that it was time to make his move. It was now - or probably never. On his way to her, he tried to remember what his brother taught him; mentally going through every sentence they practiced. Time was running out though, because suddenly he was standing in front of her. Asta had her back towards him; was currently standing beside some other ladies and watched the people dance - but nevertheless. Alone the sight of her back left the prince speechless; entranced by her beauty. She wore a dress. It was definitely made out of fine Asgardian fabrics. Long and coloured in a beautiful soft blue. Her normally long hair was made into a pinned-up hairstyle; leaving her shoulder blades bare. She was stunning.
Taking a very deep breath, the prince took his courage in both hands and approached her.
"L-Lady Asta?" His voice was slightly scratchy and husky - a sign of nervosity. The young Asgardian woman turned around immediately; curious and excited blue eyes meeting his Y/E/C ones. Her eyes widened slightly, as she registered who was standing in front of her. "Prince Váli!" She curtsied; lowering her head. "Good evening." Váli tried to smile; feeling his heart hammering against his chest. "Good evening, Milady." Remember your brother's words! Remember your brother's words! It echoed through his head. "Y-You, uh, you look quite a bit l-lonely." Oh great start, Lokison, great start! His mind sarcastically screamed at him and rolled its eyes. Asta frowned a bit; her eyebrows slanting softly. "I-If I may be so bold to say that!" The prince quickly added; almost shouting at her - before turning beet red. This wasn't going how he planned... "A-Apologies, I..." Ugh. Váli closed his eyes for a moment and took another breath, while Asta started to smile gently - unbeknownst to him. He is quite cute, isn't he? The ambassador's daughter thought; suppressing a light giggle. Thank the Norns he's just as bad as me, when it comes to conversations.
"This isn't how I planned this to go..." Váli spoke up again and reopened his eyes. "I... I actually just, uh, wanted to ask you if you'd like to dance with, uh, me?" He bowed to her and stretched out a shaky hand - like he's been taught. I made a fool out of myself, didn't I? His own voice echoed through his head once more; not thinking Lady Asta would accept his offer, but then...
Soft, smooth skin suddenly came into contact with his, as she placed her smaller hand into the prince's bigger one. Quite a bit surprised looked Váli up again. "I'd love to dance with you, prince Váli." He blinked. "R-Really?" A small, delicate laugh escaped Asta's lips; causing the prince's heart to flutter. "Yes." Not thinking he'd come that far, Váli was a bit lost at first, but then managed to somehow regain his composure and lead her towards the dance floor.
Taking a soft bow - like he was taught, Váli placed his hand on Asta's waist, while the other continued to hold her hand. The woman smiled; slightly blushing. Her hand landed on the prince's shoulder. Váli waited a short moment, before he started to lead Asta over the dance floor. Sure, he had danced with several ladies before, but this was different. He didn't dance with Asta because he had to... No, because he wanted to. It caused once again nervosity to swoop through his belly; afraid of failing to impressing her and make the wrong moves. It wasn't the prince, though, who had a bit of trouble dancing...
Asta was more nervous than it seemed. She was just really good at hiding it. Her father wanted her to take dance lessons as well when she was a teenager, exactly because of that reason. The problem was that it's been a while since such a handsome, sweet and kind man had asked her to dance and therefore she was struggling quite a bit. Of course, she could've denied the prince's request, but her heart spoke faster than her head did.
As hard as she tried to remember the steps and to focus, she couldn't prevent a few mistakes to happen. Stepping on Váli's feet for example...
"O-Oh! Apologies, my prince!" She scrambled; turning red. "I-It's been a while since I lastly danced. Please forgive my clumsiness." Váli just gave her a soft smile; his heart beating faster. They were in the same boat. "Please don't apologise, Lady Asta. I understand - and I must confess that I am not entirely sure of what I am doing either." His words made the ambassador's daughter giggle and both their nervosity to disappear. At least a bit.
They danced for a long time; having small conversations all the way. It seemed like they just clicked and at the end of the day, both of them felt that there was something between them - even if they didn't tell each other... But it was there.
Being now definitely in love, Váli made his way back to his royal chambers late at night; a happy skip in his step. Rounding the corner, he saw his brother leaning against the wall beside his door; a cheeky smile on his face. He had been definitely waiting for him. "Well, well... I see someone is quite happy." Váli smiled; though his cheeks turned red once more. "I am, Áki, I truly am. I think I never danced so much before on any other ball." His twin giggled, nodding. "I saw that, yes. Seems like my lessons were successful." "Successful?" Váli giggled almost deliriously. "Brother, they were lifesaving! Thank you so much! I owe you." Áki smiled and stepped closer to his twin; placing a hand on his shoulder. "The only thing you owe me is that you go and make that stunning lady yours."
And so it happened.
Whenever the ambassador came to Jotunheim with his daughter - which happened quite often, Váli and Asta spent time together. The prince showed her every nook and cranny of the palace - including the library and its secret hideout, of course. He took her out; picnicking, swimming, riding out and so on. It didn't take long for them to share their first kiss and soon they declared to be a couple. It took both of them a while, since they were a bit shy, but the ambassador, you, Loki and his brother for sure, were more than happy for the young couple.
Tumblr media
"Where are you taking me, Váli?" Asta asked; giggling, as the prince led her to the Bifrost. Being on Asgard at the moment came in handy for the prince. "You'll see!" He answered, winking. "Now close your eyes and please don't open them before I say so. And no peeking!" Asta giggled, but nodded; then closed her eyes. "Alright."
The young woman felt the surroundings change around her. It became suddenly colder. A lot colder. "Váli, where-" "Shhh," he interrupted her; pressing a short, soft kiss to her lips. He guided her gently forwards and could feel something crunch underneath her feet. "You may open your eyes now." And Asta did, gasping.
Celebrating being a year together now, Váli had decided to take his lady somewhere special. Some place she didn't see every day. And the prince didn't even need to think long. He immediately remembered how stunned she was, when they were reading a book together about Midgard. About a place called 'Lapland', to be precisely. So, the prince took she there...
"Wow... Váli, that is..." Asta was at a loss of words; gazing dreamy into the snowy dreamland around her. "Stunning, right?" "Absolutely! Is it... Are we... Are we on Midgard?" Váli smiled; "Indeed. Welcome to Lapland." wrapping a thick coat - which his father had given him, around her. Not that she was going to be sick! The prince had no problem with the cold. Being half Frost Giant had its perks.
"Do you see that little cabin over there?" Asta followed Váli's gaze. "Yes, it looks cosy. What about it?" "That's where we're staying for the night." The woman's eyes widened in surprise. "We are going to stay there?!" "Mhm," Váli said; taking her hand, "Let's go!" and gently pulled her behind himself towards the cabin.
Said cabin was beautiful and super cosy. Made out of wood with big windows and a fireplace. It was in the middle of nowhere; surrounded by nothing but nature. Woods, snow and a frozen lake.
The couple spent the whole day in the snow; exploring, hiking and watching animals they had never seen before. Only in books.
When the night fell over Lapland, Asta and Váli got cosy in front of the big fireplace; gazing out of the big windows into the clear, starry night. Cuddling closer against the prince, Asta suddenly saw something blueish green flash over the sky. Her eyes widened. "Vál... Are those...?" Váli smiled; nodding, "Northern lights, yes." and pulled her closer against his chest. "Just like we read in that book..." Whispered the woman; stunned. After all, she had never seen such things before and neither had the prince - who was just as stunned. "Yes... I wanted to show you at all costs and then my dad had this idea and well... Here we are..." "That is wonderful. Thank you so much for this." Váli didn't answer. Instead, he leaned down and pressed a gentle, loving kiss on the woman's lips.
It was definitely a date to be remembered.
"So..." Áki placed both his hands on the wooden desk at which his brother sat; smirking. "How was this, um... How is it called again?" Váli looked up. "Lapland." "Lapland! My words..." The warrior's palm met his own forehead. "So, how was it?" "Good. Beautiful, actually. The Northern lights were exactly how the book described it. You should go, see it sometime." Váli got very excited as he spoke; being the bookworm he is. "Did you know, that Lapland-" But Áki interrupted him; wanting to have more... details. "Yes, that's great, but what happened?" He asked his twin, winking - causing Váli to just frown. "What do you mean?" "Well, did you... You know? Finally?" Váli blinked. "Oh, for norns sake, bro... You are way too innocent for this conversation, I see... Seems like I have to be clearer." Áki stated, clearing his throat. "Did you finally bed her?" The moment those words left the warrior's mouth, Váli's cheeks heated up. "N-No, w-we-" "No? Oh man... I guess I'll never understand that... How can you not bed the one you love? I slept with Sađi when we weren't even together." The other prince grimaced. "Yeah, ew, no, I don't want to hear that, brother. That's disgusting. Stop, please. I don't need to know how often you and Sađi... No, no, no. Besides, you are a whole lot different than me." Áki grinned. "That may be right, but may I remark, that you came to me for advice not so long ago?" Váli sighed and rested his face in his hands. "Yes, yes, yes, I know - and by now I regret it, because I'm never going to hear the end of this." Áki just chuckled, shrugging his shoulders. "Sorry, bro... That's just how I am." "I know - and I love you nevertheless." Áki smiled; true, honest ruby eyes gazing at his twin. "And I love you, too." Váli stood up and reached over to place his hand on Áki's shoulder. Smiling, they looked at each other; sharing a moment. "Now if you'd excuse me..." The prince said and rounded the desk. "I have a date." "Have fun - and tell me about it, eh?" "Oh shut up, brother." Áki giggled, as Váli closed the door behind himself.

"Thank you for this, Vál." The both of them leaned against the pillows in front of the wooden wall; bellies full with food. "No. I have to thank you. You are the reason it is so wonderful." Asta shook her head; giggling. Her cheeks turning pink.
"I love you, Váli Lokison." Váli traced his thumb softly over her cheek. His eyes were filled with pure love and adoration. "And I love you." The young prince lowered his head; brushing his lips against Asta's in a sweet, innocent kiss. The kiss didn't stay innocent, though... The way their lips moved against each other seemed to ignite a fire within the young couple. They had found themselves often in heated make out sessions like that - but this time... This time it was different. It felt different. Perhaps was today the day, Váli thought; feeling the nervosity swirl in his belly. Perhaps not. I don't want to force her to anything...
Chills ran up and down Asta's spine; and yet felt her skin like it was on fire. She never felt this way before. At least not that intense. It was a whole new feeling for the quiet woman.
Váli pulled her gently closer towards him then; needing to feel more. Consume the love he felt for her. The black-haired beauty was so lost in Váli's kiss and the wondrous feeling inside of her, that she firstly didn't recognise in which position the prince brought them in… Suddenly, she was sitting on his lap, hands clasped around his neck. Váli's soft, gentle lips were still attached to hers, kissing her ferociously - but nevertheless with so much love, while his hands were on Asta's hips, holding her in place. She didn't think much about where this could lead or what was about to happen - until she felt Váli's hands leave the spot they so lovingly held onto. His hands travelled gently up and down her back at first; causing another shiver to run down her spine. It wasn't an unusual move of him. Váli did it often. But what came next, was definitely an unusual, unfamiliar move. The young man's hands wandered lower, until they reached the hem of her summer dress. Before Asta's besotted brain registered, what was happening, had his palms already found their way to her bare calves.
It never went that far. Váli never did that before. Never. The young woman's eyes flew open at this unexpected, intimate move of her boyfriend, and the sudden skin on skin contact. It caused a soft squeak to escape her parted lips.
As sudden as she felt his cool touch on her hot skin, as sudden was it gone again. Váli pulled his hands away quickly; eyes filled with guilt and remorse. "A-Apologies, A-Asta!" He started to scramble for an explanation. "I-I didn't mean to do that! I-I got carried away! I-I should've-"
"Don't stop."
She spoke up suddenly, quietly - yes, almost shyly; interrupting him. The young woman felt how the blood rushed into her cheeks; colouring them in a soft red. Váli knitted his eyebrows in confusion; a short, loose curl of blonde hair falling into his face. "W-What?"
The moment of Váli's skin touching Asta's had sent a sparkling sensation through her whole body. It was strange and overwhelming - but also felt so good. So comfortable. So... intimate. She wanted to feel it again. She wanted to find out what would happen, if the prince didn't take his hands away. If he didn't stop.
"Don't stop," she whispered again; gathering all her courage to slip her fingers through Váli's - placing his palms back on her bare calves. As soon as his skin touched hers again, she felt another sparkling sensation rippling through her. This time, though, the young woman couldn't suppress the small, soft gasp, which left her lips at the contact.
The prince was at first completely perplex; not knowing what to do or how to react. But once he realised that she really wanted him to touch her like that, he started to rub slow circles in her ivory skin, using his thumbs. Her hands found their way around his neck again - just like her lips found their way back on his lips.
It didn't take long for Váli's hands to go on another journey. His fingertips danced over the skin of Asta's legs; wandering up higher and higher, and leaving a trail of goosebumps behind. His cool touch felt amazing against her heated flesh. Like a trillion snowflakes melted on her skin. Within a heartbeat, the make out session had turned more passionate... More intimate. Every touch; every kiss was like pouring oil into an open fire, and by the time Váli's hands had reached the underside of his girlfriend's thighs, they both knew that this could go way further than they had ever been. This realisation caused the young woman's violently thumping heart to skip a beat. Her whole body was buzzing with anticipation of what was perhaps to come - and she couldn't deny it... She wanted it. Wanted him. She wanted to drown herself in the love and pleasure only Váli would be ever able to give her. So, she followed that raging need inside her body and started to loosen the leather belt, which held his beige tunic in place. Her rather bold move caused the prince to freeze in all his movements. With a soft pop he freed his lips from hers and removed his hands from her thighs - in order to wrap them around her wrists, stopping her. Asta's eyes snapped up; locking her gaze with his.
Another gasp escaped her lips at how close she and Váli actually were - and the intensity his Y/E/C held. "A-Asta, I... We..." He stammered; voice cracking. "A-Are you aware of what you're d-doing?" The woman in his arms nodded. "More than aware, my prince." Váli swallowed - visibly. "D-Do you... Do you really want this? Me? A-Are you certain a-about crossing that line?" Asta just stared at him; eyes wandering from his beautiful orbs down to his kiss swollen, alluring lips and back. She didn't need to think about this. Her heart - and especially her body had decided on this a long time ago. She wanted to feel Váli as close as physically possible. He was all she ever wanted. He was the one. She trusted him with her life. Blindly. Undoubtedly.
She nodded. "I never wanted anything more in my life," Asta spoke in a hushed voice; staring deep into his eyes. "Please," she added, as Váli still hesitated; unsure if he should really indulge into this. "Touch me," she whispered rather sinfully in his ear then - which caused the young prince's insecurities to shatter. He let go of her wrists and cupped her cheeks instead. With his eyes filled with love, he started to kiss her again. Gently and lovingly, but also intimately and passionately. It was so sweet and intoxicating, it made her head spin; hands going slack against Váli's lower belly.
His hands found their way back to her hips then; glided slowly up to the zipper of her dress, sensually unzipping it. He slowly peeled the straps of the beautiful dress down her shoulders and arms; letting it fall to her waist. Asta started to shiver slightly, when the cool air hit her skin. Váli only intensified it, when his fingertips traced her almost completely bare back.
Once his hands returned from exploring every inch of her back, they came to rest on the clasp of her white lace bra. "May I?" He asked, being utterly gentle and polite. His father thought him well.
Once more Asta nodded; already unable to form any words. Váli tried to undo the clasp as casually as possible, but found himself struggling quite a bit. After all, the prince never did this before, so how could he know? While his cheeks started to redden in embarrassment, his girlfriend only giggled sweetly, before reaching her hands up to cup his. "Here, let me help you." With united forces, the clasp was undone with one quick move.
Asta's bra fell; leaving her upper body exposed. But to her slight surprise, Váli's eyes didn't drop. They stayed trained on her face. Instead, he leaned in to kiss her again; hands splayed across her back, before he pushed her slowly backwards; gently laying her on her back. Váli was hovering directly above her now, his face mere inches away from hers. So close, thar she could feel his hot breath on her skin.
One of Váli's hands started to gently tug at the remaining clothes covering Asta's body. His eyes spoke more than words ever could. He made sure that what he was doing is alright for her. It caused the young woman to fall even deeper in love with the prince.
She lifted her hips; signalling him to go on. Váli grabbed the fabrics and pulled them down her legs, leaving her now completely exposed to him. The prince sat back on his heels; eyes settling on her body. Out of instinct, Asta covered myself; shielding herself from his sinful eyes. No one had laid eyes upon her naked body... until now. It was the first time she was completely nude in front of anybody... In front of a man. It caused her to be even more nervous and very insecure all of a sudden.
Váli started to shake his head. "No... No..." He rasped; his eyes incredibly soft. They were seeping over with love. His hands reached for her wrists again. "Don't cover yourself, Asta..." He tried gently to pull her arms away. "Please," Váli whispered. "You are so beautiful." The prince sounded so intrigued and honest, it made her give in - and she let him pull her arms away. Váli's fingers slipped through hers, as his eyes raked up and down her body; lips softly parted. "Absolutely gorgeous..." He gasped and let immediately go of her hands again, to capture her lips with his, before he started to breathe gentle kisses all over her neck. It gave Asta back her courage.
She lifted her hands to work at the belt of his tunic once again; freeing his upper body from the fabric. Finally, she was able to feel his skin underneath her fingertips. Curiously, she let her hands wander over the ivory skin of his shoulders, back and chest.
Unlike his brother, Váli hadn't much muscles to brag with. His frame was rather lean. No bulging pecs or rippling abs. But to Asta, he was absolutely gorgeous. Perfect.
Váli moved lower, peppered her whole upper body with gentle kisses; leaving a burning, sizzling sensation behind. It was electrifying. Asta was floating somewhere high above the clouds. But then the rustling of fabric caught her attention... She looked up to see how Váli got rid of the last remaining clothing, which covered his body. In the blink of an eye, he was naked as well - and now hovering above her again. That went now a bit too fast for the young woman. She felt how the anxiety and nervousness took over her system. Her eyes widened; legs starting to shake. Asta quickly brought her palms up to press them against his chest. "V-Vál s-stop. Wait, p-please." Váli stopped immediately in his movements, literally froze in place. The emotion in his eyes changed. His Y/E/C orbs were now clouded with worry.
She took a deep breath; felt how the feeling of embarrassment bubbled up inside her body. And once again, the blood rushed to her cheeks. "I-I never did that before... I-I..." Váli's eyes softened upon hearing those words leaving her lips. He started to shake his head; a smile spreading across his face. To Asta, he almost seemed... relieved? "Thank the norns..." He breathed; causing her to look at him quite a bit confused. Váli noticed that, of course and started to chuckle. "Don't worry, Asta…" He spoke softly and leaned down to brush his lips across her ear. "I never did that before either."
His words send a wave of pure relief and calmness over the young woman, but it also surprised her a bit. "Really?" She squeaked up; staring with big eyes at him. Váli bit his lip - and nodded. "Yes, really." Her mouth fell softly agape; completely in awe. Honestly, she didn't quite understand this. "But... How, Vàl? I bet there were are a lot of girls who laid their eyes upon you..." The prince breathed out another soft laugh and shook his head again. "It is a valid question, but… I thought you might have noticed this already, but... I'm a very shy boy." She giggled at her boyfriend's words. It was undoubtedly true. "Besides, if there were other girls, they all would have the same catch..." That awakened Asta's curiosity. "Which is?" Váli's smile widened. He reached out to tug a loose, long black strand behind her ear. "They would never be you, beautiful." Asta's heart skipped another beat. "You will always be the one. My heart belongs to you since the first time we met." Her heart fluttered; the butterflies swirling like crazy inside her belly. She felt how tears started to form in the corners of her eyes. "Oh Vál, I..." She wrapped her arms around Váli's neck and pulled his naked body flush against hers. "You are always the one for me, too," she said with a shaky voice and held onto the prince for dear life, completely overwhelmed by her feelings.
The both of them just basked in each other's embrace for a few moments, before Váli straightened himself up again, so that he was able to look into Asta's eyes. He pressed his forehead against hers. "Are you afraid?" She swallowed. "A bit, maybe." He nodded. "Do you trust me?" Now she nodded. "With my life." Váli smiled and pressed a chaste kiss on her lips. "I promise you, that I will be gentle. Please stop me, if you need to, yes?" "Yes." He smiled even wider; his eyes filled with love. "Hold on to me," Váli whispered and kissed her again, before they dove together for the first time into the deepest abysses of pleasure; making sweet, sweet love.
After the bliss had faded away, Asta was laying in Váli's arms; cuddled against his chest. A toothy - almost delirious smile displayed on her face. One hand of the prince rested upon her back; tracing gently random patterns on the skin there, while the other hand was in her hair, softly massaging her scalp. Asta was completely relaxed. Her eyes closed; bathing in the aftercare Váli was offering her. She never wanted it to stop.
The prince leaned down and pressed his lips on her forehead. "Mmmh," Asta hummed; already on the verge of dozing off. He chuckled softly. "Are you still with me?" "Mhm," she answered; more asleep than awake and pressed a lazy kiss against his chest. Again, Váli chuckled. "Well, it doesn't quite seem like it." "'M sorry, Vál." He quickly shook his head. "No, please... Don't be. It's alright. Sleep. I'll be here when you wake up again." And he was.

(After the Respectless Reprise)
Velvette, calling Vox on the phone: VOX!!! End this stypid debate once and for all! What was the color of your turtleneck when you took that damned picture with Valentino?
Vox, picking up the call: Uh... What now?
Velvette: Some of your crazy "fans" cropped that stupid picture I took of you two near his desk with your monitors! They've been going crazy at the color of your stupid turtleneck in the leaked photo
Vox: Right right.... and..... This is my problem because....?
Velvette, muttering under her breath: I swear to god... this is just like that stupid dress thing all over again.....
Vox: The what now?
Velvette: Forget it! Your old arse wouldn't even get it anyway and we don't have the time! That stupid thing blew out of proportion!!! It's been trending on Vitter for Hell's sake so you better do something about it!
Vox: Vel, I don't see the problem. It's just a color for something that happened a long time ago. It shouldn't even matter.
Velvette: Well it does matter because demons—not even just sinners, Vox— have been going at each other's throats about this for hours on end just for the sake of their fanart consistency!
Vox: Fanart consistency?
Velvette: Oh for fuck's sakes, Vox— Aren't you connected to your network right now? You should be able to see just how bad it is in there!!
Vox: Mhm... yeah, yeah... well..... right...
Velvette: Vox. Are you listening to me right now?
Vox: *noncommittal hum* Yeah..... That's better...
*Velvette pauses for a moment before a look of realization crosses her face*
Velvette: Wait... Don't tell me your at your Alastor shrine again instead of at your office?
*Clatter clatter CRASHHH*
Vox: *cough cough cough* H-Huh? What? NOOOOooo... No, no I'm not. What are you talking about Velvette?
*Velvette side glances at Alastor still silently having his mental breakdown before moving onto Lucifer fiddling with his tie and cane as he refuses to meet anyone in the eyes*
Velvette: Yeaaah.... Right.
Vox: A-ActUALLY!! I was just about to go there. To— to my office I mean. I mean, I just came from an important meeting after all!! Yes, a very very important meeting. With uh.... About– Sinflix! Yes, yes Sinflix. You know how that annoying little parasite has been taking some of our profits with all their 'free services' shtick that we've been losing money in the other Rings.
Velvette: Right. Right. (I don't care)So... your turtleneck color?
Vox: RIGHT!!! *Ding ding ding!* Yeah, about that I uh....
*Side glances at the scarce remains of his closet that was once full of multiple variations of turtlenecks colored red, orange, yellow, and even blue. Some of them actually being striped. There was a sell in one of the secondhand-me-down shops if you buy in bulk back in the day when he first fell into Hell. And he wasn't one to pass up a bang for your buck. Unfortunately, he also had to burn a lot of them after Velvette joined team to avoid her wrath. And now he can't remember which one he wore during that picture*
Vox: Well... About that, I don't.... actually remember?
Velvette: You don't sound so sure of yourself.
Vox: Well, the picture itself is faded so some of the color has changed. Not to mention the lightning.
Let me ask Tino if he remembers.
(I hope you enjoy this. Someone please sedate me)
oh my fucking god (reference to this, and this, and the turtleneck discourse is just this entire fucking tag. basically we've been spending the last 2 days debating about vox's stupid fucking turtleneck)
literally everything being referenced is giving me fucking whiplash HELSPGKOS vox himself getting into the debate because he doesn't remember is hilarious
Tumblr media
only thing I will have to correct there is that vox does in fact own netflix in hell so it's voxflix not sinflix
considering maintagging this and putting it out into the wild with zero context (until they check the links)
EDIT:
Tumblr media
misunderstood whoops here's the clarification LMAO

Here's a lovely, beautiful, little detail I loved in Episode 14 that I wish we saw more of throughout the show. BaekHong just teasing each other with their quirkiness and wittiness.
All those little scenes and dialogues were so beautiful and so important in letting me know and believe that yes this is why and how they fell in love. This is where they match in personalities. They see that part of each other. Cause life can be long as much as it is short, so god do you need a person who can make you smile, allow you to take yourself less seriously and just someone you can laugh with.
Here are a few examples I found in episode 14. If anyone knows more throughout the show that I'm missing please list them here!
1. Busman Confession
Haein: 'How did you even get into SNU?'
She was so real for this and it was so deserved. Also the way Hyunwoo starts teasing her immediately. She never wanted to tell him cause she knew he'd get cocky with her and of course he did. Love that lil laugh and teasing. Also I love how Haein keeps teasing him about his first love. She loves seeing him wound up.
2. Praying at the Church:
Haein: 'You're praying so much to get into heaven. Of course you'll need it if we want to meet in heaven.'
Hyunwoo: 'What makes you think you're going to heaven?'
They're both so mean and chaotic 😂 They're literally in church praying for Haein's fate and they decide to make these jokes. And I love how Hyunwoo doesn't hold back. He gives as good as he gets. I love the lightness foreshadowing the very dark and real reality they live in. This was so necessary and so well delivered. Like just subtly sprinkled.
3. Last Night at the Hospital before Haein's Surgery
Haein: 'You have nothing (complaints, times you were hurt in marriage secrets)?'
Hyunwoo: 'I'm trying to pick'
Making light of something that is very heavy and sad. It also shows the lighter side of Hyunwoo that I really appreciate when I get to see this in characters cause the people these characters are have to be multilayered. They can't be defined only by their capacity of love and sadness. Another example of this is Haein's really dark and dry sense of humour.
4. Episode 14 Epilougue
Haein: 'You used to tell me about the days you were in Law School? What was your secret to memorising so well?'
Hyunwoo cockily lies: 'I was just able to easily memorize anything I looked it.'
Haein: 'I'm serious did you gobble up the pages after memorising them?'
Hyunwoo: 'I'm not a goat.'
There literally hours away from her surgery. But look at him teasing her and making her smile. I love how Haein points out in an earlier episode 'as arrogant as you are you must Baek Hyunwoo' cause in front of her he flexes like no other but other than that he's just a humble man. So I love him never missing a chance to impress her. It's a very cute detail and I love seeing it strung along.
There are others as well. I think I saw a post by @havemercedes some time ago as well. I think this truly shines in episode 14 and I love this detail! ✨

Paper Rings by taylor swift with sirius black
Paper Rings
Request: Paper Rings by taylor swift with sirius black
Hi! So sorry for the wait, I was in a bit of a writing slump, and then I was a little busy. I was just writing a fic before this request and it took me so damn long to finish it, but I finally did. Now I’m here! I love Paper Rings, it’s such a sweet song. Hopefully you can see the lyrics interpreted in what I wrote. Thank you for the request! I hope you enjoy it :)
(Warnings: like one swear word, mentions of Sirius’s home life, insecurity, very brief underage drinking, let me know if i missed anything)
You truly met Sirius in the beginning of your Third Year.
You had known of him beforehand—even briefly chatted with him during classes and in passing—but you weren’t friends. Lily Evans was your friend, and Sirius was her friend. So, by extension, you two were…something.
You didn’t know each other well enough to consider yourselves friends.
You had always liked him, though. You thought he was charming, funny, and annoyingly beautiful. Maybe a bit loud, but it was also an endearing quality. He thought you were pretty, and bookish—not that that was a bad thing—and a little quiet compared to himself. But there was something about you that he liked, and he wanted to know more about you. He just didn’t know how to go about it.
That was until, in the middle of Third Year, you stumbled into each other’s lives.
Quite literally stumbled, to be technical about it. You were on a late night trip to Hogsmeade after dinner, Lily and a few other friends by your side. You had snuck out of the castle on a whim, Lily for once actually recommending you break the rules to have a little fun. You were walking past an alleyway when three boys came tumbling out of it, the one in the front accidentally knocking himself into you. You stumbled back on your feet, but you were steadied by a loose grip on your forearm.
You looked up to see who it was, eyes widening in shock. “Sirius? What are you doing?”
“These two are pissed,” he motioned back towards who you recognized to be James and Remus. “I’m taking them back to the castle before we get ourselves caught.”
What you didn’t know at the time was that the full moon would arrive in just a few days, and the boys knew about Remus’s condition. They skipped dinner to get a few things, and then decided to stay out so they could have a little fun before Remus would be out of commission for a few days. It was a story you’d be told later on in your relationship with Sirius, but as of this meeting, you just assumed they were looking to get into trouble.
And you wouldn’t be taken down with them.
“They’re a little loud, don’t you think? Do you plan on getting us all caught, or do you think you can manage getting them back to your dorms unharmed?”
Sirius grinned, raising a brow at your sharp but playful tone. “There’s already been a little bit of harm, actually. Prongs fell, and—”
“Prongs?” You asked, eying both the boys knees.
“James, I mean,” he corrected, motioning back to the flush cheeked boy who looked a solid minute from keeling over. “I don’t think he’s ever drank like this before.”
“I’m a good boy! Mum would skin me if she knew,” James inserted, hanging his arm around Sirius’s shoulder.
“She absolutely would not,” Sirius groaned, wrapping his arm around James’s waist to keep him upright before turning back to you. “Sorry, as you can see he’s a bit in over his head. He tripped earlier and scuffed his knee. But don’t you worry…I’ll keep him quiet long enough to get him back. Wouldn’t want to take all you ladies down with me, now would I?”
You watched him for a moment, deliberating, before pointedly walking around to his other side, taking a hold of James’s other arm. You turned around to face Remus, offering your free hand.
“Do you need help, too?”
“Y/N!” Lily rushed out in a hushed whisper, looking around to see if anyone was watching. “What are you doing? We’ll get caught!”
You shook your head, grinning. “Not if we’re careful. We should be heading back anyway.”
“Are you sure?” Sirius asked, a bit confused as he watched James lean some of his weight into you.
“I’m sure,” you mused, turning back to Remus. “What about you?”
He was clearly amused by the whole situation, content to watch from the sidelines. He raised his hands, motioning for you to go ahead.
“I think I’ll manage, don’t worry about me.”
You nodded. “Alright, then. Shall we go?”
“I think I’m going to be sick,” James mumbled suddenly, making both your and Sirius’s eyes widen.
“Alright, let’s go, let’s go! Merlin, Prongs, I swear I’ll hex you till your eyes cross if so much as an ounce of vomit lands on my new shoes.”
“How gallant,” you mused, although you were now a bit wary about being this close to James yourself. “You can always get yourself another pair.”
You caught a glimpse of his grin from the other side of James. “It’s the principle, darling.”
Together, you managed to sneak everyone back into the castle without alerting anyone. By the time morning came, no one would even know you left. You walked James all the way to Gryffindor tower, everyone quietly chatting amongst themselves. Lily eventually had to hex James’s mouth shut when you passed the Prefect dorms, afraid he’d get you all a month’s detention, or worse.
He—even after all these years—still insists that he considers that night to be the moment he truly fell in love with her.
Remus, pretty much sober now at this point, took on the task of getting James into the Common Room and up to bed. The girls whispered a hushed good night, going to bed soon after. When they were gone, it was just you and Sirius, standing out in the lamp lit corridor.
He gave you an awkward smile, leaning up against the wall. “So…what were you girls doing out so late? It’s against the rules.”
“It may be,” you nodded. “But you were out there too.”
“I’ve got so many detentions wracked up that I’m expecting a Howler from my Mother any day now. I have never seen you, however, in any sort of trouble, let alone in detention. You’re not fooling me.”
You grinned, a glint in your eye. “Maybe I’m just better at not getting caught than you are.”
Sirius felt something flicker in his chest. A faint sensation, no more than a second, but it was there. It was something. The glint in your eye made him want to stand on his toes and lean over the edge until he fell overboard into the depths of you. Your mind was something to be explored, and your heart an adventure to be had. His curiosity got the best of him, and he couldn’t let you go without solidifying another excuse to see you.
“Thank you for helping me bring James up.”
You shook your head. “It was no problem. You looked like you needed the help.”
“I think there’s an insult hiding in there,” he chuckled, ignoring your teasing. “But I’ll forgive it, considering you risked your own shoes to help me. I don’t suppose you let me thank you properly…maybe on your next trip to Hogsmeade?”
“You’re trying to buy my time, Black? Need a friend who won’t need you to carry them home?”
He huffed nervously, retreating. “It was just an offer, love. You can just say no.”
“I was kidding, Sirius,” you smiled, shaking your head. “I’ll go with you. But there’s no need to buy me anything. I’ll take your word as enough thanks.”
His confidence slowly returned, his usual smirk reappearing. “Like you said, love. If I have the means to buy myself a new pair of shoes, I can certainly buy you a butterbeer or two.”
You playfully rolled your eyes, biting your tongue. You supposed that was Sirius’s thing. Winning people over with his charm and riches, so they’d never stop and try to look any deeper. But there was more to him. You could see it. And you wanted to get to know him, not shrouded by his show of wealth.
“I can pay for my own butterbeer, Sirius.”
He grinned, the glint now in his eye. “We’ll see about that.”
You spent most of your spare time with Sirius for days after your first trip to Hogsmeade.
He made good on his promise.
Despite your efforts, you walked back to the castle with a bag of Cauldron Cakes from Honeydukes and a Sneakoscope from Zonko’s. He rationalized it by saying that you could share the sweets with Lily, and use the scope for when you needed to find him when he was creating mischief somewhere in the castle—which you’d later use the Marauder’s Map for. You could have refused them, but you knew he’d make you accept the gifts anyway, even if he couldn’t come up with a valid excuse to buy them for you.
Over time, you stopped scolding him for buying you things. You knew he’d do it anyway regardless of what you wanted, and it was easier to thank him than argue with him.
Your trips to Hogsmeade became trips to the Astronomy Tower, or the Room of Requirement whenever you wanted to be alone together. Picnics down by the Black Lake—or winter swims, even though it was freezing—to evenings at the Quidditch Pitch where you’d watch him practice tricks and fly laps between the goal posts on his broom. He even resorted to spending afternoons with you in the library, watching you read with a content smile on his face. Of course, he’d eventually get bored and bother you too, but he was so adorable that you’d usually pack up and follow him wherever he was begging you to go.
The gift giving didn’t stop.
It was one of his main love languages. He wasn’t always the best with words, but he prided himself on his ability to understand a person and know what would make them happy. No matter how small or big the gift, he’d love seeing the little smile on a person’s face when they opened it up. The way their eyes would light up when they realized that another person had thought of them enough to get them something they’d like.
It was intimate.
It was easy and natural to Sirius.
A locket with room for a photo in the middle, a bouquet of flowers, a book you’d been mentioning you wanted to read, one of his old sweaters that spent more time in your closet than it ever did in his.
Money was never a problem, so he never even gave it a second thought when he’d see something on a shelf at a store and immediately think of you. He’d buy it and happily give it to you, telling you to get over yourself when you’d tell him he shouldn’t spend so much money on you. You’d try and gift him things too, but he considered himself infinitely better at giving gifts than getting gifts.
“Beautiful girls deserve beautiful things,” he’d always say, and you couldn’t help but flush and grin every time, dropping the subject.
It became a staple of your growing relationship together. Eventually, days with Sirius turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. You couldn’t pinpoint the exact time that it happened, but it was without a doubt—you had fallen for Sirius Black.
And you had fallen hard.
Before you knew it, years had passed. It was Fifth Year now, and you couldn’t love him more. It was an accident, really—falling in love.
Loving Sirius was as easy as breathing.
Every inhale was another second you got to love him, and every exhale was the comfort of knowing that he loved you just as hard. It was bliss.
If only you knew what was coming.
Sirius had run away a week before. He’d gone straight to James’s house, scared out of his mind. He hadn’t even been there more than an hour before James had sent word to you. You were on his doorstep in mere moments after, begging James to let you in so you could see him. Although he knew Sirius was in a fragile state, he reluctantly let you in.
There was no harm you could truly ever do to him, and, if anything, you’d bring some good.
Sirius always had an unusual peace about him when you were around. Maybe it was your calm demeanor, or your ability to make silence comfortable. There wasn’t any reason you could pinpoint, it’s just how it was. You were always able to calm him when he needed you to.
Euphemia spent most of the evening tending to him before you were allowed to go up.
He had taken a few calming draughts, and he was quite tired by the time you knocked on his door. Euphemia let you stay with him for half the night before she made you get up so he could get some rest. She knew there was no telling you that you couldn’t see him, and she knew you’d help him rest easier.
You sat up against the headboard, Sirius resting with his head on your chest. You had the blanket pulled up tight around him, one hand tangled in his hair, the other secured around his shoulders. You were quiet for a long while, doing nothing but listening to him breathe. Each exhale gave you a little bit of peace.
They meant he was alive.
They meant he was here, right here, and he was safe in your arms. Nobody was going to hurt him, and they most certainly weren’t going to take him away from you.
It must have been an hour before he finally spoke. He clung to you, his voice muffled into your shirt. He sounded so small…and it broke your heart.
“You don’t have to stay with me,” he whispered, though he made no move to let you go. “I may be a burden, but I don’t have to be your burden.”
“Don’t say that!” You rushed out firmly.
Your grip on Sirius tightened, and you could feel him let out a sigh. His chest rose and fell as he tilted his head up to look at you.
“And why not? It’s true—”
“It isn’t!” You interrupted, looking him in the eye. “Sirius Black, you listen to me…you have not been, and you never will be…a burden. Do you know how many people love you?”
He said nothing, only staring up at you with sad eyes. You frowned, reaching down to tuck a stray piece of hair behind his ear. You cupped his cheek, running your thumb along the top of his cheekbone.
“Look where you are. You’re home and safe with a family that loves you and considers you their own. They’re your family, Sirius…you’ll never be a burden to the people who love you. You’ve got Euphemia and Fleamont. You’ve got James, and Remus, and Lily, and Marlene, and Frank and Alice…and Regulus, and your Aunt Andromeda…I could give you an endless list of people who care about you. People who love and adore you so much.”
You hooked a finger under his jaw, making him look you in the eyes as you spoke. He let you, his hands still clutching your shirt.
“And I love you,” you whispered, tilting his chin upward. “I love you so much that it scares me sometimes. I don’t think it’s normal—to feel like this about another person.”
You smoothed your hand over his hair, leaning down so that your forehead rested against his. You spoke softly, so soft that you could practically hear your own heart beating.
“I would follow you wherever you wanted to go. I don’t care where, I just want to be with you. I want to sit with you and listen about your day, however good or bad it was, and talk with you until we can’t keep our eyes open and we fall asleep. And I want to wake up next to you—wherever that is—and I want to lay with you until we have to drag ourselves out of bed and start our day. I don’t care where we are, I don’t care what we’re doing, I don’t care who we’re with…I just care about you. And I would give up anything to have that life with you. Anything.”
Please believe me, you thought to yourself. Please believe how much I want you.
You watched his eyes brim with tears, and you could feel his hands shaking as he held you tighter. A stray tear spilled over the top of his cheek, and you were quick to wipe it away with your thumb.
He let out a long breath. “That’s a lot of love.”
You managed a small chuckle, smiling down at him. “It is. I’m not quite sure what to do with all of it.”
“I’ll take it,” he replied, once again letting his head rest on your chest. “It sounds really nice. If you’ve got no one else to give it to, I’ll take it.”
You nodded, pressing a kiss to the top of his head. “It’s all yours, love. All yours.”
Sirius got better, with time.
Sirius’s parents never came for him, although an owl from his brother came a week after he left to let him know just how finished with him their Mother was. He’d been permanently burned off the family tapestry.
He had laughed it off when he found out, letting out an exasperated sigh. “Just like my Aunt Andromeda. Always one with a flare for the dramatics, my Mother.”
“Is that who you get it from?” You teased, ducking when he chucked a pillow at your head.
“Be nice to me!” He pouted, crossing his arms over his chest as he laid back against the couch. “I’m fragile right now.”
You rolled your eyes, leaning over and pressing a sloppy kiss to his cheek as your way of silently apologizing. It made him giggle, which was a sound you didn’t realize just how much you’d miss until it was gone. You’d have done anything to hear it again and make him smile.
His pout disappeared, replaced by a small smile and flushed cheeks. “Alright, I guess you’re forgiven.”
“How generous of you,” you mused, grinning.
“It’s a gift.”
The days rolled on, and he slowly returned to his usual self.
Euphemia and Fleamont treated him like he was one of their own, and James was relishing in having another sibling. He’d already considered Sirius a brother, but living with him somehow made it more official.
Remus came over whenever he could, and you spent every spare minute of your time at the Potter’s. Euphemia said it constantly looked like a parade of zoo animals running around her house, but you could tell she was secretly enjoying the company. Like you, she had a lot of love to give—and you and all your friends were her honorary children that she could love and spoil.
You were beginning to realize why James had turned out how he did. Like the sun, personified.
Eventually, Sirius seemed entirely himself. He was back to cracking jokes and getting into mischief, never a dull moment with James by his side. He didn’t often speak of home, but when he did, it was of lighthearted memories and long forgotten tales. Everyone kept him well occupied, and he learned to fill the rare silences and still moments when he was alone with things that made him feel hopeful and content.
If you were anyone else, you would have missed the signs.
He seemed entirely happy to the untrained eye. But you noticed something was wrong during quieter moments when his mind would stray, and there was this far off look in his eye. It was minuscule and fleeting, but it was there. You knew it was bothering him, and yet, he never brought it up. You figured it was best to stay quiet and let him come to you about it…but he never did. And the far away stares were becoming more and more frequent.
One evening, you couldn’t help but gently confront him about it. If there was any chance you could bring him some peace, you had to at the very least try and get him to fess up.
You were sitting on the porch, watching the stars twinkle in the night sky. It was just after dinner, and he had been uncharacteristically quiet the entire time. You couldn’t stay at the Potter’s every night, but on the nights when you could, he was usually quite excited. It was unusual for him not to be teeming with excitement, and you led him by the hand to the porch the minute dinner was over and everyone had dispersed.
“What’s going on, darling?” You asked, your shoulder brushing his as you laid down on the porch floor next to him. “You’ve been quiet.”
“Nothing,” he shrugged, keeping his eyes on the stars.
You gave him a pointed look, but turned your attention back to the sky as well. “It’s not nothing, Sirius. You’re quiet, and you’re never quiet…and you may be quiet right now, but I know your mind isn’t. I can practically hear the cogs turning. You can tell me what you’re thinking about if you want to. You don’t have to, of course…but I’m right here if you do want to.”
Neither of you knew at the time that his Uncle Alphard had set aside a small fortune for Sirius to live on until he came into his own, which subsequently got him burned off the family tapestry too.
He was a blessing, and you’d always be eternally grateful for what he did for Sirius. It truly changed both of your lives.
The money didn’t pass to Sirius until after Alphard died, so Sirius was under the assumption that the inheritance he’d been promised all his life was taken away from him. That fact had been bothering him since he left home, and the reality of his situation was beginning to set in.
“I’m just worried,” he finally murmured, rolling over to face you.
You rolled to face him, so close that your noses were almost brushing. “About what?”
“About how long James’s folks are gonna let me live with them. We’ve only got two years left, and I’m sure they’re not looking to support another child that isn’t even theirs.”
You frowned, reaching for his hand and intertwining your fingers. “Don’t worry about that, Sirius. They’re happy to take you in, and they’re absurdly rich too. I don’t think you’re going to make a dent in the family fortune.”
He could tell you were trying to make light of the situation, using humor to make him forget about how much the Potter’s were doing for him. He shook his head, growing frustrated.
“I don’t want to make a dent. I don’t want them to feel like they have to take care of me, even if they have the means to. They shouldn’t have to support me, I should be able to do it on my own—”
“You’re still a kid, love,” you interrupted, squeezing his hand. “You shouldn’t have to worry about those kinds of things yet. They wouldn’t want you to.”
“And what about after school? What about when it’s time to move out, and I’ve got nowhere to go?”
“You can go with James,” you tried to rationalize.
“And when he gets bored of me? When he gets tired of living in a flat with another grown man, and decides he wants to settle down in a house of his own.”
“Then you can live with me,” you said softly, eyes softening on him. “James is your brother, and he’ll never grow tired of you, but you’re right…he will eventually want to settle down on his own. But then you can come live with me. I told you, Sirius…wherever you, I go. No matter what. I promised you.”
He shook his head. “I can’t ask you to do that, darling. How would we live? I won’t be able to give you all that you deserve, and I refuse to let you accept anything less.”
“Beautiful girls deserve beautiful things, right?” You asked, offering him a small smile. “That’s what you said to me. And I’ve got my beautiful boy…that’s all I’ll ever need. The rest of it doesn’t matter. We’ll make it work.”
There was a choked sound in the back of his throat, and he nuzzled his face into the crook of your neck so you weren’t able to look at him. You wrapped your arms around him as he took a deep breath, feeling his chest rise and fall under your touch.
“I don’t deserve you,” he mumbled into your shirt. “I’m going to ask you to marry me one day. Merlin, I hope you say yes.”
You shook your head, chuckling, sitting up and pulling him with you. You tugged the spare hair tie off his wrist, twisting it around your finger until it was bundled into loops. You slipped it over his ring finger on his left hand, securing it in place.
“I’d marry you with nothing but one of these around our fingers,” you smiled, twisting the hair tie around and around. “I like shiny things…but I’d marry you with paper rings…a rubber band, or a string, or a tattoo—even a Ring Pop, I don’t care—it doesn’t matter. As long as I get to marry you.”
He was quiet for a long moment, a silly grin on his face. His cheeks were flushed, and he knew he was beet red, but he didn’t care. He just cared about his girl—the one who just said she’d marry him no matter what. He felt like his heart could explode.
“What’s a Ring Pop?” He finally asked, smiling wider when you let out a bright laugh.
“It’s a muggle thing. A lollipop carved into the shape of a giant jewel or diamond, and it’s melted onto a plastic ring you can slip on over your finger so you can wear it while you eat it. It’s cooler than it sounds, I promise.”
“I think it sounds very cool,” he said as shook his head, grinning. “It’s good to know you like them. It may be all I can afford.”
You smiled, continuing to twist the tie around his finger. “As long as it’s the blue raspberry one. Those are the best ones. Turns your tongue blue, though.”
“Is there a red one?” He asked, and you nodded, making him grin. “Good. Then we can make our tongues purple.”
“Sirius!”
The day his inheritance came in was the happiest he’d been in a long time.
Euphemia and Fleamont had kept him well taken care of, but he wasn’t content. He didn’t want to spend any more money than was necessary to get him the things he needed, and he often went without some of the things he wanted.
But what he really wanted, and what he really missed…was being able to get things for you.
James had a countless number of times seen him staring longingly in a store at some little knick knack and offered to buy it for him, but Sirius always politely refused. He never felt right about it. You were content to never receive another thing from Sirius ever again. You didn’t need him to spend a galleon on you. But you knew it made him happy to give people things. It wasn’t just you he missed spoiling.
So when the money came in, he had a field day. Everyone who had supported him and loved him since he left home received a gift of some kind within a week, and Sirius hadn’t smiled that wide like he did watching people’s eyes light up as they opened them in a long time.
He saved you for last, pulling you aside one evening after a gathering at the Potter’s. He pulled a small box out of his pocket, tied shut with a ribbon.
“Sirius,” you gasped, eyes widening in shock. “Is that—”
“It’s a promise ring,” he finished for you, slipping the ribbon off.
You felt your stomach knot itself up, afraid your palms were beginning to sweat as he opened the lid to show you the ring. He grinned when you paled.
“Don’t worry, it’s not a real silver band. And it isn’t a diamond—it’s a moonstone. Lily told me it’s a symbol of protection or something like that. I figured that you’ve spent so long protecting me, it’s my turn to start protecting you.”
You raised a brow. “You’ve been talking to Lily about this? No wonder she and Marlene have been so secretive recently. I was beginning to think I’d done something wrong.”
“Apparently, McKinnon has a thing for astrology and crystals and all that shit. Someone should tell her she’s a witch,” he chuckled, pulling the ring out of the box. “Lily helped me pick the band a few days ago. The shopkeeper thought we were a couple while we were in there.”
“I’m sure Lily loved that, and I'm definitely sure it amused you,” you laughed, smiling at the thought of Lily scrunching her nose up at the mere insinuation that she and Sirius were together.
“It most certainly did.”
He pocketed the box, holding his hand out for you to take. You placed your palm in his, letting him slowly slip the ring onto your ring finger. He twisted it around once, before squeezing your hand in his.
“I’ll get you the real thing one day.”
You smiled, admiring the ring. “It’s beautiful, Sirius. Not as tasty as a Ring Pop, but I love it.”
“I love you,” he breathed through a laugh, running his thumb along the back of your hand. “And I love that you would have let me propose to you with a Ring Pop. I love that you want a life with me, and Merlin, I want it too. And I love how you make me feel. I love that you feel so deeply and love so hard…I love that you love me just as much as I love you.”
You felt your chest swell with emotion, feeling your eyes sting with tears. You gave him a watery smile, squeezing his hand tightly in yours.
You were only able to choke out a few words. “I love you more.”
He laughed, like you had just said the most unbelievable thing he had ever heard. He hooked a finger under your chin, titling your head up until your eyes met his. He looked at you a long while, before shaking his head.
“Impossible, darling.”
A/N - Hi!  So so sorry for the long wait, it took me so long to get this out. I really enjoyed writing this one, I really appreciate the request. Small Fleabag reference for my girlies who caught onto that. I hope you enjoyed it! Let me know what you think :)

Meet the cast—
Au Masterlist!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yvette “Eve” Liu—
She was born in upstate New York, her father a lawyer and her mother an Educational Assistant, her two younger siblings were born years later in Michigan when they moved to Plymouth when their father was offered a senior partnership at a law firm.
She tutored a bunch of the usntdp boys in their junior and senior years, and that's how she found her Jack
Jack was very different from the other boys she put up with, he had a politeness that made her swoon. He never interrupted her, always paid attention, and always followed his sessions with a quiet thank you which had her in a puddle every time he left the library.
There was never a session where she hadn't shown up home after with big heart eyes.
Eve was always very school-oriented throughout her life, loved education, and loved furthering her understanding of the world, so naturally, she chose education as her career path
She goes on to study education at Rutgers and becomes a high school history and English teacher by 22 (started her teaching practicum at age 20, so technically she was teaching at 20h
Her and Jack ending up in the same city was a coincidence; her cousins who lived in New York were also going to Rutgers for their degrees, and she wanted to be close to her family, so she followed them. Jack just happened to get drafted there just a few months before her freshman year began
She had a cat in college, but she had to give it to one of her college friends when she moved into her apartment because Jack was allergic to it, her name was Penelope
Eve and Nico are also very close, Jack's real wife and his work wife are best friends and always team up against him, he gets either very upset at their kicking or very jealous that is wives love each other more than they love him
She owned a little box of every little thing Jack had ever given in her room, and he never found out till they moved in together in her senior year of college
She named their daughter, an ode to one of the more influential women in her life, her grandmother, and that's how they ended up with little Mei Hughes.
Mei and Jack are her entire life, and it's as simple as that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jack Hughes—
Jack was pretty sure Eve hated him their first few history tutoring sessions together, he could barely string sentences together, his palms were soaked, and he was a ball of nerves because she was just so pretty.
He was so blind to the fact that she was equally just as into him as he was to her. He accidentally misunderstood her asking him to homecoming in their junior year as her asking them to go as friends so when he picked her up she was expecting a cute little corsage and to maybe take some photos and instead, he showed up at her doorstep with Trevor and Alex.
Jack would never live that moment down for the rest of his life, but he definitely made it up to her a year later when he asked her out, as not-friends.
She definitely fell first but he fell harder.
Jack cried so many tears when he found out they were both gonna be in Jersey and really relied on her during his rookie year
While he was in Michigan during the 2023 season he bribed Luke with free liquor to drive up to Detroit and pick him up so he could stop at Eve's parent's house to ask for permission to marry her.
They are only engaged and plan to have a long engagement, but Jack refers to her as his wife to literally everyone
Jack is literally a wife guy, whatever his wife says goes, and everyone chirps him cause he's literally Eve's bitch, but he follows her blindly and with heart eyes and does not give a fuck what anyone says.
Jack is the girl dad at heart, and that's all im going to say cause I know you all completely understand what I mean.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mei Jean Hughes—
Born January 8th, 2024 in New Wark NJ
Very chubby giggly baby with a head of perfect little curls
Jack asked Quinn to be her godfather during the second Hughes vs Hughes game, just days before Eve was induced. Quinn cried, but if you ask him he’ll say something was in his eye
Mei is Daddies girl for sure, she is obsessed with Jack, hates when he's on roadies and needs to talk on the phone with him before bed
Mei hates Trevor, she loves Cole and Alex, but Trevor is like enemy #1
Has Luke wrapped around her chubby little finger, he is literally Eve and Jack’s saving grace, the best babysitter ever
Mei goes through a tiara phase when she’s older

How would the Bumblebee ships work in the Shattered Glass reality.
I'm not too sure what Shattered Glass is but i suppose i can try?
I've seen some takes on that by others- most often i see Bee being depicted as a total opposite of himself so i will go with this too. Bee's usual happy-go-lucky, overconfident attiture gets switched up with a shy and fearful one. He's a scaredycat and always always does what he's told to do to avoid the punishment.
I imagine his team is not very nice to him, they're the main reason he's suffering. Bulkhead isn't even friends with him and basically got stuck with him during boot camp and somehow his job. Optimus is mostly silent and ceases any insupordination with violence. Ratchet has been kicked out for unethical practice on patients and still does it sometimes on folks that aren't his team. At least Sari is your typical hurt emo kid that got mistreated by her father, so she and bee kinda stick together. But still, you can imagine ProwlBee isn't very happy; Prowl is an arsonist and a manipulator, he speaks softly only to get you to follow him and then stab you in the back. He saw Bee as an easy target and pretends to love him when in reality he only sees him as another one of his toys. Bee is very naive and believes everything he says, even if he physically hurts him he always comes back cuz he thinks this is the best he can get.
Now, since the Autobots are the evil ones, Decepticons are the heroes that will save the yellow princess. ShockBee; Shockwave was send to spy on the Autobots under the disguise of Longarm. He wasn't very good at being mean or not showing much emotions which got him some suspicious looks. Then he met Bee, the little bot whose Spark was nearly literally pouring out of him from sadness and suffering. He talked to him and they kept in contact in secret, but then after he got assigned to the repair crew, Optimus found his little communicator and broke it and beat him up. Longarm suspected somethign has happened to he volunteered to find him and Megs. And sure enough, Earth was the place. He was so happy to see Bee- but Bee seemed to not even want to look at him, not talk at all. He tried his best to get him to open up again but to no avail... even so the final straw was pulled when he saw Bulkhead trying to punch him dead while they were investigating some Decepticon signal (cuz Shockwave couldn't sit still in the autobot mode). He jumped out and nearly offlined said giant and took Bee with him, all while making sure the big bot saw him and would say he was kidnapped instead of a traitor. After that Bee was brought to Decepticon base to keep safe. Shockwave revealed himself to be his good friend Longarm and Bee, after a long period of holding back, caved in and told him everything while being held in a hug. From then on Shockwave takes care of Bee and teaches him all the fun stuff he gets to do now that he's not with his team anymore. Sari also gets pulled with him once Megatron onlines again and she can have the caring and supportive father she always wanted.
Now onto BlitzBee, the very popular choice; Bee and Blitz don't meet until they are on Earth, although i think Shockwave wold tell Blitz things from his job for fun therefore he learns about the existance of the little yellow mini. Blitzwing is very much different- his Icy (Joy) personality is very cheery and positive if not a little unsettling, Hothead (Scaredycat) is worried 24/7 and will cry if you yell at him, and Random (Blunt) is the serious strategic deadpan of the three, mostly in charge while in combat. He's also the one that will hold emotions to let them out in a gruesome way on either an object or the enemy. I imagine he met Bee while he was out at night and caught the scout crying alone,he managed to talk with him and noticed all the various dents he had on him. They became friends rather quickly and before either knew they fell in love. But just a couple of meetings after the confession Bee has disappeared, he didn't come to the spots neither he was out while they fought. Something must've happened to him and he knew it. But then he saw him sitting there in the cons' medbay being treated by Blackarachnia after the fight and he could not have been happier. Turns out Shockwave has found him imprisoned deep within the autobot base and took him from there, the autobots said he was kidnapped by decepticons which wasn't true so he looked. Bee told him that the others somehow found out about their relationship and self-sentenced him to tortures instead of typical death penalty for treason. Blitzwing listened while set on his blunt face and only cradled his little love when he was all good to go and rest. Bee and Blitz are by all means the cutest couple there could every be, Blitz is so very caring and does everything to make sure Bee feels safe and loved. And since i can't leave the child out of this, Blitz flies and rescues Sari from the tower, upon both Bee's and Megatron's request. They're all one big happy family.
I think you could make BlitzBee and ShockBee into one with this but i won't go into it further. Anywho, hope this was what you were looking for!

tsukishima didn't fall in love often— hell, he rarely experienced any sort of attraction towards anyone. of course, he's had celebrity and fictional crushes before, and of course he had personal (intimacy) issues, but it wasn't a big deal, right? it wasn't required to have a girlfriend in your second year of middle school!
yet once he reached high school, he found himself single while most of the people he knew had already found themselves crushes and partners. he was an attractive, tall, smart guy — not to mention, he started playing volleyball, so obviously he got confessions and both girls and guys pining after him all the time.
but he just never felt any kind attraction towards the people that confessed to him. he would always semi-politely decline their confessions or laugh in their face due to his big ego.
the only person he's ever crushed on for so long is you; you were his best friend since the 1st grade, not bothered by his mean and snarky tendencies. you were the very rare person that stuck around, and when yamaguchi shimmied his way into your duo, you were suddenly deemed the most annoying people in your middle school; tsukishima was obviously annoying due to his sarcasm and height, you weren't as much of a problen, but you enabled him— and yamaguchi, the less annoying peacemaker that was slowly losing his sanity.
tsukishima kei, who liked you when you made fun of yamaguchi's bullies after school.
tsukishima kei, who crushed on you when you would invite him over for dinner without telling your mom.
tsukishima kei, who fell in love with you the moment you had your first witty banter 20 minutes after meeting eachother.
tsukishima kei, who fell in love with you when he caught you making food with his mother and talking to her about his childhood stories.
tsukishima kei, who no matter how much he hides it, has feelings — for you, and for others.
"tsukiiii!" you yelled, waving at him with a smile as you approach him, bottle of water in your hand. "i just wanted to wish you good luck before your big game!" you offered the lunch to him, pushing it towards him forcefully. he stared at you blankly, then back down at the food— to be fair, your cooking wasn't good but it wasn't bad either. it was in the middle and above average.
the team was just about to walk into the gym for their first game, when you had started yelling— which startled literally everyone. you swore kageyama whispered to hinata: "for a short person, they're *really* loud.."
tsukishima glared at the two, which made everyone stop in their tracks and now watch your entire interaction. a slight blush crept onto his cheeks, pushing his glasses up and glancing between the box in your hands and your face, which was giddy with excitement. he furrowed his eyebrows and frowned in faux disappointment, "why are you so excited? it's not like its your game.." he muttered, taking the lunch from you and shoving it into his bag. "you didn't have to cook anything for me."
you scoffed, a smile still playing on your lips despite his words. "i cooked it because i'm a great friend and i'm excited because you're my bestest friend and i know you'll do great! it's my signature recipe!"
"wow, i didn't know this was expired instant spicy ramen." tsukishima retorted with a snarky smirk. you rolled your eyes, standing on your toes to squish his cheeks, giggling when he pushed your wrist away. "i'll be cheering you on from the sidelines, tsuki-tsuki!"
he blushes at the nickname. "you sound so lame right now." he chokes when tanaka throws a slipper at him. "hey, stingyshima! be nicer to girls that give you lunch and cheer you on during your games! you idiot!" the older boy yells.
"sounds a lot like your sister you're talking about, ryu." sugawara whispers.
you let out a small laugh at tsukishima's annoyed expression because their loud yelling for him to be more polite, watching him sigh and push up his glasses once more. "thank.... you for the food, yn. it was very nice of you." he says blankly, his expression ever so stoic, yet the tip of his ears flushed a deep red. "you're welcome, tsuki-tsuki!" you tease, "i've gotta go now, but i have to say something first.."
you pause for dramatic effect, the widest grin on your face. tsukishima hates it when you do this. "even if you lose or win— which you will —i'll buy you dinner!" the team whistles and teases tsukishima as you say this, hinata jumping as high as he can and hitting his head on the ceiling. at this point, people were starting to stare.
a small, tiny blush rises to his pale cheeks as he watched them get excited over the mere promise of a 'date', "it's impossible to give them more of a reason to get hyped up, but i think you just did." tsukishima jokes, a proud feeling settling deep in his chest when he sees you laugh.
"what can i say? i bring the happiness out in people." you poke his cheeks, and yet again, tsukishima gently pushes your hand away. "alright, i'll go now! bye, kei!" you wave at him as you leave, off to go find a place to sit.
nishinoya and tanaka come up from behind him, tanaka throwing his arm over tsukishima's shoulder and ruffling his hair. "looks like tsuki-tsuki's got a date!" he teased, laughing when nishinoya tries to bite the poor blonde boy. "yeah, i didn't think you had any sort of rizz to pull any woman!"
tsukishima scoffs. "shut up. it's not like you guys could get anyone to crush on you with how dumb you guys look." kei mutters, pushing himself away from the chaos of the two 2nd years teasing him.
"IT'S NOT LIKE YOU LOOK ANY BETTER, TSUKISHIMA!"
"FOUR EYES!!"
"you guys, stop, people are staring!" daichi yells.
--
to say that kei was surprised you watched the *entire* game was an understatement. he was even more surprised when he heard you yelling his name and wearing one of his t-shirts in the crowd mid-set, making him blush the entire time.
when karasuno had won, you were the first person to cheer for tsukishima— not them as a team, but for tsukishima.
once they packed up, you immediately raced down to talk to the blonde boy, giving hinata a high-five as you passed him. "tsukishima, you did great! i'm so proud of you!" you ran towards him, tackling him with a hug— he didn't exactly fall over, but he did stumble. "i barely did anything.." kei mumbled, the tips of his ears flushing a dark red. "you did a lot, and i'm so proud of you!"
tsukishima could feel his teammates' eyes boring at the back of his head, if he wasn't talking to you right now, he would've rolled his eyes and made a snarky remark. "thanks. you still owe me that dinner, by the way." he led you away from the team, hand intertwined with yours and bag slung over his shoulder, before you two knew it, you were walking out the door. "where are we going anyways?"
you hummed, "well, i don't really know. i'm thinking of just eating anywhere we come across." kei rolls his eyes playfully at your answer, a teasing smirk on his lips. "isn't that just your answer to everything?" he tilts his head to the side. "we could eat at your place.. or maybe, like, a burger king? oh, i know this really good place that serves amazing coffee jelly.."
kei didn't realize you had stopped walking until he looked down and saw your hands weren't intertwined with eachother, he looked back and saw you staring and pointing in the direction of a— "no." was the immediate response that left his lips when he approached you, trying his best efforts to drag you away from the cheap awful sushi restaurant.
"there!" you point, refusing to move from where you stood - as if your shoes were glued to the sidewalk.
"oh my god, no."
"keeiii, please?"
"no, yn. i know so many better places that don't serve food that taste like feet."
"but it moves around me!"
"so does normal food if you put it on wheels."
you pout up at him, "please, kei?"
and what kind of man is he to say no to something like that?
so that's how he ended up here; sat across from you in a booth, a train of sushi to his left, and the plates of food in front of the both of you. his nose scrunches up in disgust at the different desserts and platters - all sharing one quality; being weird. his expression contrasted yours which looks vaguely curious.. and also disgusted. "yn, can we please leave? we could cook these ourselves at home and they would still taste like feet."
you roll your eyes at his reaction, already digging into your food. "i dunno what you're talking about, tsuki, this is really good." you nod, taking a sip of your water. kei seems to disagree, being the drama king he is, his face scrunched in disgust the moment he swallows the food. "again, it tastes.." he coughs, "..like feet."
"i disagree!" you say in a singsong manner, your eyes scanning the room for a second before landing on a couple that looked almost like you and kei; not exactly the same appearance-wise, but the two seemed to be have the dynamic you two did. you curiously stare at them, which prompts kei to stare at them as well. "why are you looking at those strangers? if you're thinking about poisoning them, i'm sure you just have to give them this sweet, sour, bullshit." he takes another bite, despite what he says.
"do you think they're on a date?" you pause, staring back at kei. "or are they just really good friends that look like they're dating eachother? y'know, like us."
for the first time in a while, kei was rendered speechless— he stared blankly at the food, unmoving and unblinking. he didn't.. know what to say or even what to think, were you flirting? was that a serious question? what did you mean?
"what do you mean?" he asked, glancing up at you before taking another bite of the food.
"i just mean, like, do you think the girl really likes the guy but doesn't know how to tell him or ask him out? or do you think the guy doesn't like her back and is too afraid to tell her. i think if that's true, then the guy should really tell the girl right now." you shrug. your heart was beating so fast, you could barely keep up with it— you felt so nervous, like you were gonna puke and all your organs were all gonna come out of your ass and mouth.
kei's heart shattered at the latter, he hated how you could actually think something like that. "well— i think the guy thinks this entire thing is stupid and adorable. i think he also thinks it about the girl." you blush at his words, even if he was using someone else as an example, you knew he was talking about you. "i think the guy really wants to ask out the girl, but feels like the girl would hate him if he did. if the guy asked the girl out right now, do you think she would reject him?"
"i would never!" you gasp.
kei laughs a little at that, cracking that precious smile of his. "wow, i didn't know we were talking about us!" he sarcastically replies.
"i'm asking you out, kei. not the other way around, let me win this one!" you whine.
he smiles, "okay, okay.. i'll go out with you. it's pretty desperate of you though—"
"shut up!"
