Omfg pervy roommate König!!! And his poor little roommate is none the wiser to how he abuses her poor cunt every night. He does such a good job fucking his load into her that she confides in him as a friend that she’s pregnant and is super shocked!! But that’s okay, he’ll always be there for her. Now she’ll never be able to leave him. <3
Cw: forced pregnancy, NON-CON/CUB-CON, DARKFIC, pervy!önig, perverted behaviour, somnophilia, dacryphilia, breeding kink, possessive behaviour, pregnancy, drugging, tell me if I missed any.
You’re blissfully unaware of his advances, or his nightly excursions into, pumping his cum into your already filled womb and putting a baby into you. He liked how disoriented and confused you look the day after, waking up pantieless, your bedsheets crusty and dried cum sticking to your thighs. You always come to him for advice, wanting to know why you came all over yourself, leaving you covered in your own slick and cheeks burning with shame when you told him, oblivious of his gleeful eyes narrowed down at you with a hidden grin.
It goes on for a while, he feeds sleeping pills - the ones from his prescribed-bottle for his insomnia - breaking half a pill down to a fine powder and spike your bedtime drink, waiting for you to doze off, sleeping so deeply that even an earthquake wouldn’t wake you up, and he fucks you. He, sometimes, takes his time, thrusting slowly, enjoying the slow and romantic pace, feeling you wrapped around him. Other times, he goes feral, pounding and bruising you, hands manhandling you into the prettiest position to let him fuck you deeper, the head of his red, angry cock kissing your cervix brutally.
You don’t take pills or any contraceptives, letting your monthly cycle roll over and deal with the cramps with painkillers. So he’s not surprised when you come crying to him about being pregnant after going to see your doctor about your daily nausea and stomach pains. He expected you to be pregnant after so many nights of filling you up, pushing load after load of fertile cum - he takes supplements to make him more virile - into your young womb, what he didn’t put into account was the long time it took to finally knock you up, the months he spent waiting and biting the skin off his thumb until it bled to have you round and plump with his child.
You had the prettiest face when you cried, eyes puffy and lips pouty, it made his cock stir, throbbing in his pants. It drove him wild, seeing you cry and whine about not being ready to be a mother, still so young and oblivious to who the father was —you didn’t even remember the last time you fucked anyone. König spent the day comforting you, wiping your swollen eyes with high-quality cashmere tissues he bought just for you, whispering sweet lullabies to you until your tears stop - much to his chagrin - and cradled you in his lap, fingers thumbing the soft fat of your thighs, running soothing circles with his calloused thumb.
He’ll wait until the baby’s born to tell you he’s the father, he might not be patient enough to sit around and wait, but he is patient enough to know when he should and when he shouldn’t wait. He’ll care of you until you come to term. He has the money to buy you whatever you need, KorTac is the best paying PMC and he was a colonel in the past, racking up a large sum of money before he signed a contract. Your cravings, your needs, your wants and whatever else you ask, your roommate - your soon-to-be-husband - König will take care of everything.
What a nice roommate you have, no?

On Cosplay, Fast Fashion, & Waste
Fast fashion and disposable outfits in cosplay community spaces give me anxiety. Seeing people openly talk about throwing their "trashed" cosplay away after a single con makes me sad. Some costumes are crafted with such low durability that they fall apart beyond repair if you look at them the wrong way. I've met a ton of other cosplayers whose idea of "cosplay repair" ends with a stapler and some hot glue.
I never ever ever ever want to shame people for not knowing something. Crafting is hard. Making a low-quality costume isn't a sin or a crime. If you're new and still learning and don't really know what you're doing yet, that's fine! No harm, no foul, no bruise.
The cosplayers who do make me grouchy, however, are the ones who are unwilling to try. The ones who are flippant about throwing away a cosplay without trying to mend it, repurpose it, reuse it, or pass it along. The ones who intentionally make a costume just durable enough to last a single day, then toss it in the trash with zero thought.
My sewing and costuming experience started when I joined the ren faire, and I had to make my costumes sturdy enough to survive multiple weeks of heavy use, with the durability and freedom of movement to allow sword fighting on the living chessboard. I was taught how to shop for inexpensive fabrics and materials, but use high-quality, long-lasting techniques so that my costumes didn't disintegrate after a single day of performing. I have made extremely durable, cost-effective costumes out of bedsheets and thrift store fabric, as have many of my friends.
That experience has carried over into my cosplay. I am not happy with a costume unless it can go through three consecutive days of stage combat and high-intensity walking around outside in the heat, go through the washer and dryer, and come out completely unscathed.
Again, I never want to needlessly shit on other people's cosplay. Cosplay gatekeeping sucks and is no fun for anyone. At the same time, fast fashion is just as rampant in cosplay as it is everywhere else, and it sucks to see how wasteful it is.
You can make things durable even with cheap materials. Stop making flimsy costumes that you're just going to toss. Stop making piles and piles of waste. Please stop buying fabric just to slap a costume together with glue and throw it in the trash. If you are going to invest time and money into making something by hand, make it durable and comfy and worth the effort.
Even if you only want to personally wear it once, you can sell it, give it away, trade it, do something other than toss it in the trash. Show some love to your costumes, show some love to the planet, pick one action you can take to make your cosplay a little less wasteful. Being obsessed with the myth of a "personal carbon footprint" isn't helpful, but we as cosplayers should try to at least make things that'll last longer than 24 hours.
I understand that sewing can be incredibly intimidating, but basic stitching really isn't that complicated if you have a guide and the right tools. I personally need assistive devices for sewing thanks to my hand tremors and tendonitis, but those tools do exist, and can make things easier for both disabled and newbie sewists. I use rotary cutters instead of scissors, I keep a supply of needle threaders on hand, I have multiple little gadgets that help me sew in a straight line so my shaking hands don't screw everything up. There are tons of tools available, tons of tutorials online, and if you're interested in learning, there's a whole world out there to explore.
If you don't want to do all the crafting yourself, that's totally fine, but if you are going to hand-make your costume, you should try and make it durable. It's better for the planet and it's way less stressful to go to an event when you know your costume won't fall apart on the con floor.
If you have zero idea where to start, here are some books with crafting techniques I've found very useful, both in cosplay and regular household sewing I do for my family:
Make, Sew and Mend: Traditional Techniques to Sustainably Maintain and Refashion Your Clothes, by Bernadette Banner (who also has an incredible YouTube channel)
Cosplay Fabric FX: Painting, Dyeing & Weathering Costumes Like a Pro, by Julianna Franchini
Creative Cosplay: Selecting & Sewing Costumes Way Beyond Basic, by Amanda Haas
Level Up! Creative Cosplay: Costume Design & Creation, SFX Makeup, LED Basics & More, by Amanda Haas

island time. [A.I.]
🦜 honeymoon!Ashton
freshly married and lost in paradise, you and your husband Ashton make a brand new discovery on your picturesque Caribbean getaway.
a/n: god this is literally the most domestic shit i have ever written (but also not at the same time???) i need to be put down after this one
CONTENT WARNINGS: smut’n’fluff!, brief mentions of drinkin’ & smokin’, exhibitionism/semi-public sex, dirty talk, trying for a baby/mentions of pregnancy, breeding kink (duh.)
the end counts as cockwarming? eye-d-kay!!
WORDCOUNT: TBD
⋆⭒˚。⋆
Light peeks through the silky white curtains of your honeymoon suite, waking you up with the sunshine splashing against your cheeks. You close your eyes tighter, hoping maybe for a second you’d be able to lull yourself back to sleep.
In your daze, you swing your arm over to the side of the mattress, expecting to feel another body lying there. But rather than a broad, sleeping giant, you’re met with a fist full of bedsheets.
You mumble to yourself, finally cracking open your eyes to see that your newly wedded husband, Ashton, was nowhere to be found.
You let yourself sit up fully, only to find a stripped comforter, and a small piece of notebook paper folded neatly in half resting on the pillow beside you.
"Gone surfing. Meet me down by the beach. Love you. x"
That was all that was written, aside from the little animated surfer drawn on the corner of the paper holding his hand in a shaka, and a little speech bubble that read: “Cowabunga, baby!”
You giggle down at the comic, your heart already feeling so full from how amazing this honeymoon has gone so far. It was only day three of your dreamy fifteen-day getaway.
You’d originally agreed to ten but of course, Ashton convinced you otherwise.
It didn’t take long to shimmy out of your pajamas and into that new bikini Ashton had insisted on buying you, down at the little gift shop in the town square. When he saw how your eyes lit up after seeing it on the mannequin, he knew he couldn’t have you go another sunny beach day without it.
So, he snuck down to the gift shop that same night after you went to sleep, and left it beside your pillow the next morning.
The sun had already been up for a few hours, reminding you how surreal it felt to be in such a beautiful, tropical place. Now, as a married woman.
Even the simple task of waking up and rolling out of bed had you feeling like an entirely new person. You were grateful for the days passing slowly, being able to spend much needed quality time with your husband, Ashton.
It still felt crazy, calling him that.
Once you freshened up, lathering lotion on every exposed area of your body and tying up your hair for better access to the sun, you headed down to meet Ashton at the beach.
The crisp morning breeze made you grateful for Ashton’s long sleeve henley top that you had decided to throw on as a coverup, shielding your new bikini from the hotel lobby employees and saving the view for the one who really wanted to see it.
The scent of his cologne lingering on the shirt was a plus, too.
You made your way down the stone pathway towards the beach, already having an idea where your husband would be. It didn’t take long to spot his overgrown chestnut mullet blowing in the breeze, chatting up the bartenders that were working the early morning shift.
As you near, you notice the wetsuit draped on the back of his bar seat, surely used to surf and dried off by now. You creep up to him slowly, taking in the sight of his sandy, bare back and slightly sunburnt shoulders.
The bartender notices you before Ashton does, so you press your index finger against your lips to tell them to keep it a surprise. Although Ash doesn’t drink, he’d made it his mission to befriend every single employee at this resort; just one of the many quirks of his kindhearted soul.
Without a word, you get close enough to latch your arms around his neck, attacking him with a bear hug. Slightly startled, Ashton’s head whips around knowing it was you, yet just double checking to be sure.
"Ah— there’s my beautiful wife," he murmurs sweetly, before slapping a wet kiss on your arm, "G’mornin’, gorgeous."
"Good morning to you too, handsome."
"Y’know, I don’t think I’ll ever get over being able to call you that,” His eyes peer over at your head resting on his shoulder, and you look back with the same amount of love and adoration.
"Get used to it. But don’t wear it out," you jab.
As your arms are still locked around him, you look down and notice the smoke funneling up between his body and the bar.
"Bright and early, huh? A joint to start the day," you hum to him, as he twists around to pull you between his legs.
"You know what they say about the early bird, sweet pea."
There was comfort in knowing that everyone at this bar knew you and Ashton, already having made accordance with each of them. He knew all of their names, as did you. He also snuck around and told them all of your favorite drinks when you weren’t around; Ashton was making it impossible for you to ever want to leave.
"Got a surprise for you." Ashton grabs the bartender’s attention with a quick, yet polite, whistle. He orders you a breakfast mimosa, which makes you giggle, speaking on the fact that you hadn’t even eaten breakfast yet.
"And what might that be?" You ask, traipsing your finger along his thigh right next to the hemline of his navy blue swim shorts, "Is it another bikini? Because I’ve already got one of those."
"No, it’s much better than a bikini— But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t hoping to see that bikini on you right now." He grabs your hips, pulling you to sit between his legs on the barstool.
You chuckle quietly, satisfied to know him like the back of your hand. "Well, I guess today’s your lucky day."
After a few minutes of back and forth with your bartender friend and a couple of weak sips to your mimosa, Ashton pats your hip as a signal for you to dismount the barstool and follow him.
He’s very quiet in doing this, giving you shoddy answers to your curious questions and leaving no room to the imagination as you walk hand in hand along the beach.
"I’m gonna cover your eyes at some point, but promise me you won’t start screaming for help or anything like that," He jokes and you scoff, squeezing his hand tightly.
"I would never. Plus, what’s a surprise without a bit of kinky blindfolding?"
"Mimosa’s doing its job already I see," he says with a grin, “Maybe I won’t need to cover your eyes— you’ll be seeing stars by the time we get there."
"Are you calling me a lightweight? You’re the one that’s trying to get me drunk at ten in the morning!"
You’re starting to reach unfamiliar territory on the beach now, watching the beachgoers slowly dwindle to only a few straggling joggers and surfers.
"Nobody’s trying to get you drunk, sweet pea. You just gotta learn to let loose... I thought I’d give you the upper hand and start your morning off with a drink. You’re on island time now."
You shrug as if to say, fair enough, before Ash pulls you tightly into his side. He locks his arm around your head, using his palm to cover your eyes and his body to guide you to the right place. You lose your balance at the sudden loss of vision, but Ashton is right there to catch you, letting you fall into his chest with a giggle.
"Shit, no warning? What the fuck kind of morning have you been having?"
You could practically hear his smile without even having to see it, "A great one. And it’s about to get even better."
A few more steps are taken before Ash is pulling you back to stop you from walking any further. You noticed that he had walked you into the sand, rather than the pathway you had been on the entire time.
"Okay, just a few more steps— easy does it…" He’s holding up your temporarily ailed body, walking you through soft tropical sand. There were moments where you’d misstep, sending your feet tripping right out of your sandals and leaving Ashton to come to your rescue.
"I promise I’m not drunk, my God… Don’t know what’s gotten into me today," you try to cover up your wave of embarrassment with a giggle, and Ash laughs along.
"No worries— Take one more big step for me, okay?"
You take one final comically large step into the sand, and stop when you feel his body come to one as well. His large hand over your face was undoubtedly making you sweat, but you didn’t really have the heart to tell him.
"Are we here?"
“Mhm," he coos, "You ready, sweet pea?"
"As ready as I’ll ever be," you smile.
Suddenly, his hand lifts from off of your face. You’re first met with a blinding light, but as your eyes adjust, you start to take in the scenery.
A lush, empty plot of beach with scattered palm trees and bushes. The crystal clear water blended in with the sky, not a single cloud throughout the entire shoreline.
You look around, confused for a moment, wondering why Ashton had brought you to a random empty plot of beach.
"Did you just walk me in circles to show me what I’ve been seeing for the last three days?"
Ashton lets out a snort, his hands finding your hips in front of you before he places a gentle kiss upon your lips.
"You’re funny. Turn around."
With his hands to help spin you, you turn around, faced with something you had been begging for since the moment you touched down in the Caribbean.
A private cabana.
"No. Fucking. Way!" You squeal excitedly, accidentally ripping yourself from his grasp to run up to the three little steps, "And here I am sounding like a fuckin’ dickhead—"
Ashton shrugs, "You learned from the best… Go ahead. Check it out."
He stands cross armed with a smug smile, watching you run laps around the cabana. You take in the dark wooden support beams and blue linen that surrounded them. There was a sheer white curtain in place of a door, and fairy lights strung on the outside. You’d seen them around the beach in the passing days, but you swore this was prettier than any of the ones you’d seen so far.
"Ash, it’s fucking gorgeous!" You gush, standing to the side of it and hugging one of the wooden beams.
"Wait ‘till you see the inside. C’mon," he holds out his hand walking towards you, and you take it gleefully. When you make your way up the steps, Ashton pulls back the curtain and slides them open just enough for the two of you to walk in.
A king sized beach bed sat between two wicker bedside tables. Sun rays shone through the straw roof, leaking light onto the power blue sheets
And on one of the little beside tables, two breakfast plates.
"So, you did have a reason for getting me that mimosa," You chuckle, fluttering down onto the bed while still taking in the interior.
"I had good intentions… Too bad you drank the whole thing before we got here,” says Ashton, plopping down next to you.
"If I’m on island time now, why wait?"
Ashton snakes his arm over your shoulder, the two of you watching the palm trees sway in the late morning winds, and listening to the ocean crash against the shore. You lean your head on his shoulder, taking in a deep breath.
"This is just— beautiful, Ash. Thank you for doing this."
"Anything for you, sweet pea. Making you my wife was only half the battle. You know I’d give you the world if you asked. A beachside cabana is nothin’."
Your heart swells at his kind words, feeling so overflowed with love that you have no choice but to tackle him onto the bed with a kiss.
It’s slow at first, his lips slotting against yours quickly and finding the rhythm you claim. But as your tongues entwine, the kiss deepens. His hands find your waist, pulling you onto his lap and spreading his legs to give you a place to rest your hips.
"Baby," you hum, giggling while Ashton’s lips are occupied by the nape of your neck, "What about breakfast?"
"Breakfast can wait. You're only thing I wanna’ be tasting right now."
Although flustered by his words alone, you pull away to look at him, a soft sigh escaping his lips at the lack of you. You proceed whack him on the chest, trying to keep alive the magic of the beachside cabana without getting too distracted by your hunk of a husband.
Well, at least not just yet.
”Breakfast cannot wait! Don’t let my friskiness ruin the amazing morning you planned. We’ll get back to it soon enough."
His bottom lip is caught between his teeth in a pout as he is about to protest, but you cut him off with a disapproving gaze.
"You had me last night and you still want more?"
"Always want you. This is nothing new."
The way he seamlessly draws you back into a kiss seemed impossible, how suddenly you were pulled right back to where you, your body, and mind were last night.
And the night before. And the night before that.
Your heart begins to race when his teeth sink into your bottom lip, pulling down agonizingly slow and testing every last bit of your decorum. You whine into him, gripping his chest so roughly that little crescent etchings are left in the place of your fingernails.
"Ash—," you whimper, barely pulling enough air from your chest to utter his full name.
"I hear you baby, I hear you…"
Ashton could tell you were getting greedy, from the way your hips ground down into his. How the friction of his bulge held captive in his swim shorts was giving you just the right amount of pressure you needed.
You didn’t care about a good breakfast, or why Ashton was refusing one. Not anymore. You didn’t care about anything.
Except for him.
The kiss picks back up and suddenly, you weren’t even sure how, the henley top that was once clad to your back was now strew across the floor. Ashton’s hands roamed up your sides, grasping at your ribcage as you continued to swivel your hips.
"So fuckin’ perfect—" Ash mumbles, in a dreamlike state that made his gritty voice sound even deeper. Music to your fucking ears. "And, you’re wearing the hell outta’ that bikini."
"Whatever my husband wants, my husband gets," you muse, bottom lip tender from the incessant nipping.
After a few more minutes of tender kisses and tugs at your bikini strings, Ashton's motions had grown more ravenous.
"Well, your husband wants you to take it off," he teases, continuing the soft banter from before and shifting the both of you up towards the headboard.
"I think that could be arranged," you reply, watching the little streaks of sunlight from above create patterns across his bare chest, "Wanna do it for me?"
"You know I fuckin' do."
He couldn't get the words out fast enough before he was pulling the strings and the bikini top was falling between your bodies, exposing your bare chest to his hungry, wandering eyes.
"My god, that never gets old," he gawks, reaching his hands up with no time to waste and taking your nipples between his fingers.
The action alone draws a moan from the back of your throat, and makes you grind down onto his hips hard enough to feel his hard-on practically popping out of his swim trunks. It had been a long and rather busy few days out on the island with Ashton. And you'd be lying if you said that the two of you weren't on a... mission.
Is it really that cliché to try for a baby on your honeymoon?
"Baby," you moan, breathless, smitten, "please. Now. We— we have to—"
Ashtons eyes widen at your subtle command, shoulders tensing at those subdued words and piecing together exactly where your head was at.
"Yeah, yeah... I've gotcha sweet pea."
It was your turn to be the dominant one now, ordering him around with your eyes as he slowly lifted you off of his hips and began to slide out of his swim trunks. You sat and waited patiently, perched on your knees with a wicked smile.
Ashton's excitement at your tries for pregnancy never failed to make you swoon; could've been because you were ovulating, or because you were so infatuated with the idea of starting a family with him. Either way, neither of you were complaining.
"Lay down f'me?"
His words break your spell and suddenly you're following his command. You shift and rest your head against the fluffy down pillows, running your hands along your chest towards your midriff.
Ashton’s blistered palms make headway up your thighs, prying your legs open like he was parting those crystal blue waves you’d been swimming in all week. His eyes feast on your sprawled out figure, examining each and every dip and curve.
"God, you’re beautiful. Could’ stare at you all day, sweet pea." He breaths shakily, his head sort of reeling, like a mental game of ping pong. He wasn’t sure where to start with his pretty girl, and it was so, so obvious.
"Don’t have time for that baby," you purr, watching him slither around you delicately as though you were made of porcelain, "Need you— now."
"You need me now? Since when did you start calling the shots around here?" Ashton chuckles, the shade of his honey green eyes slightly flickering to that of a foggy forest.
Right as you’re about to open your mouth to reply, his grip on your thighs tightens. You help out in pleasure, then quickly clamp your lips shut as he settles himself between your legs.
His chest presses against the sheets and his face is now inches away from your core, pulsing and aching through your swimsuit bottoms and practically screaming for his attention.
"Such a pretty angle. Love seein’ you like this," he drawls, his gaze pointed at where you needed him most.
A gentle whimper gets caught behind your teeth as you attempt to shift beneath him, only making that grip he had on your legs tighten just a bit more.
"Tryin’ t’ fight your way out of this, aren’t you?" he mocks, moving his hands to the inside of your legs and firmly pressing your knees down to the mattress, "You can’t go all shy on me now, sweet pea."
There was something predatory about the way he was acting; stalking like he was on the hunt for just a bit more than the feeling of you wrapped around him. He wanted to savor this moment, this fun little game of cat and mouse.
"Ashton, please," you beg.
Either he was choosing to ignore you or he didn’t hear it at all, but your plea remained empty as his head ducked down to press a kiss below your naval.
"Gonna’ fill you up real’ nice..." he groans into your flesh, teeth nipping at the delicate skin, "Would you like that? Want me to fill you up with my cum, baby?"
You nod sheepishly, resorting to tucking your bottom lip between your teeth as his teasing continues.
"Gotta use those words, beautiful. I know you’ve got a mouth on ya’."
"Yes," you blurt, "I’m— I’m ready. Please, fill me up baby, please."
His eyebrows raise in amusement and the death grip he once had on your knees finally loosens. He uses his arms to stalk towards you, crawling up your body so that the two of you met at eye level.
"Say that again for me?"
As you open your mouth to repeat the words that descended your husband into madness, you feel a broad hand sneak between your legs and push your swimsuit bottoms to the side. His finger slips between your dripping folds, running a line up and stopping to gently toy with your clit. The steadfast eye contact remained.
"Are you paying attention, sweet pea? I said, say it again."
You stutter for a moment, unable to coherently collect the words on your tongue as he continued to tease you. "Baby please— Want you t’ fill me up—"
"Gonna’ make you mine, sweet pea. I promise. And since I did it already then fuck it baby, I’ll do it again."
His tip prods at your entrance while your eyes frantically dart across the various features on his face. You watch his plump lips part slightly, and the notch in his brow grow more prominent as he savors that first stroke.
The two of you sigh in unison, in bliss, at that first initial feeling of him filling you perfectly. He has no choice but to gaze into your eyes, the ones that had been looking at him with equal admiration this entire time.
"Fuck, baby— so fuckin’ tight n’ ready for me, yeah?"
His starting thrusts are slow, each stroke hitting deeper within your lower abdomen and creating pressure throughout your entire body. You hold your breath, savoring that feeling before letting it out with a labored groan.
"F-feels so good, Ashton. Can— can feel you everywhere."
What you were saying hardly made any sense; but that never mattered to Ashton. All he knew was that the feeling of his cock meticulously hitting that sweet spot every time was enough to get you buzzed.
Love drunk, if you will.
"Takin’ my cock so well. Like such a good girl. How fuckin’ perfect you are, baby— and you’re all mine."
The eye contact between you was blazing, the heat radiating off of his cheeks flushing against yours. You could barely keep your eyes open as his hips began to snap faster and faster, his breathing becoming more gritty and labored.
"Ashton, baby, oh my God— please—" you cry out, the wooden bed frame now shaking and whacking against the walls of the cabana with the force of his limitless thrusts.
"Feels good, sweet pea? Gonna fill you up with my fuckin’ cum, baby. Gonna fill you up n’ fuck it into you nice and deep. You’re mine. All fuckin’ mine."
You take your hands and cup his face, watching his pupils bounce as his lips weave into a wicked smile. Sweat slicked his forehead as he looked down on you, eager to please you and so satisfied with the way you’d been falling apart.
"Fuckin— touch yourself. Please, God— touch yourself for me, pretty? Wanna hear more of those sweet sounds you make."
Your jaw drops, as does your hand from his cheek. Your hand then moves to finds your clit in record time, and you begin to rub it in quick circles. The simple action causes an electric shock to run down your spine, only amplifying the pleasure going forward.
"Gonna cum together, yeah?" asks Ashton, who had resorted to tucking his head into the crook of your neck and occasionally biting down on the meat of your collarbone, "Gonna’ cum with my girl— fuck, baby. You feel incredible."
"Mmmh."
You only find enough strength in you to hum as the speed of his thrusts increases. It was hard to take your eyes off of him and surely the feeling was mutual; it had become a competition of who could look at the other with the most love and devotion.
"Fuck, I’m close—" Ashton blurts, his voice weakening, "Ready for me, baby?"
"Yes, yes, yes, fuck yes," you cry out, still pawing circles at your clit as the rhythm you once claimed grows sloppy.
"Want you t’ feel my cum so deep inside you, my girl… Been so fuckin’ good t’me. Always are."
The two of you groan, loudly. It echoes and bounces off of the quaint walls of the cabana as Ashton finally releases inside of you. You could feel his liquid pooling, mixing with the juices of your own arousal and God, did it feel incredible.
A collective sigh is shared not long before Ashton dips down again to place another kiss onto the sweet spot of your neck, "Ashton, baby— oh my God."
"Gonna’ put that baby in you, sweet pea. Can fuckin’ bet on it," he states. A groan mixed with some sort of pathetic whine as he slowly pulls half of his length out of your pussy.
Right as you’re about to let out a sigh of relief, he rams himself back into you.
"Fuck!" you cry, pinching your eyes shut for the first time since this whole ordeal has started. He was awfully cocky about it all but then again, it wouldn’t be Mr. and Mrs. Irwin without a bit of a boast.
"Feel that? That to me feels like a success," Ashton gloats, his eyes mocking your tightly knit brows and scrunched up nose.
A chuckle falls past your lips as you relish in the feeling; you and your husband becoming one soul. You can’t seem to get your attention to stray away from the mousy brown curls that had flopped out of their style and into his eyes. How obscenely intimate it felt to be this close to your husband in all of his glowing, sweaty, post-sex glory.
"That doesn’t mean we can’t try again tomorrow," you tease him, brushing a rogue curl from his eye, "We’re still here for another week and a half."
"If it were up to me, we’d do this every day. But, I don’t wanna wear you out. Husband and wife now, yanno? Gotta make sure you can, uh— keep up."
The two of you chuckle and sigh, basking in the feeling of his cock still buried inside of you and sharing the love of the intimacy.
"Hey, I think I could keep up with your beastly self. You’ve just gotta give me the chance to prove it."
Ashton spares you a warm smile, the same smile that won you over the first time you’d ever met him.
"I love you, baby."
"God, I love you more."

How to Build a Fabric Stash without Breaking the Bank
Fabric can be expensive but it doesn’t have to be. If you are not stuck on Name Brands or Specialty Fabric Store Exclusives here are some ways to build your fabric stash without costing an arm and a leg. I have made many beautiful quilts using various fabrics from various supplies. And I believe that the quality is not just in the fabric you use but also in your stitch work and seams sizes. If your seams are less than a ¼” they will not hold (personally I prefer to use a ½” seam allowance). If you are not securing your thread ends, your stitch work is going to come undone. So be sure to watch these things too.
Look for fabric at your local Thrift Store (Goodwill, Value Village, etc.)
I have found some wonderful fabrics in various sizes, notions, storage items and more at my local Thrift Stores. I have even found unfinished quilt tops that I have brought home and added a backing to then quilted. Remember that almost any size fabric remnant can be added to other remnants to make some wonderful scrappy quilts so save your own remnants after making a quilt, you may be able to use it later in another quilt.
Look for local Fabric Sales held by Quilting Guilds in Your Area.
We have 2 near me every summer. One charges $2 per pound for any fabric. The second one charges $2 per yard for any fabric. Both also sell batting, notions, books, machines, tools, and more.
Look for fabric on Facebook Marketplace, Nextdoor and other sites.
I sell extra fabric on Marketplace and Nextdoor. I have also found several ladies near me selling fabric that I have purchased. And some I have purchased with shipping to me.
Look for older 100% Cotton Sheets at your local Thrift Stores.
Back in the 1800’s and early 1900’s, Quilts were not show pieces. They were real functional blankets that were made from any and all fabrics they could get, usually used clothing. I think there is no reason why we cannot still do that instead of buying expensive fabrics. I have often used clothing, sheets, curtains, and other linens to make some wonderful, usable quilts. And there are some wonderful patterns you can use for quilts in bedsheets from the 1980’s and 1990’s. Note: I always wash anything from a Thrift Store before I use it.
Watch for Fabric Sales and Coupons for Joanns, Hobby Lobby and other Fabric & Craft Stores.
I know some quilters believe that the fabric from Joanns & Hobby Lobby is poor quality but I have not found any bad fabric from these stores. We do not have a “Quilting” store close to me and because I’m handicapped, I will not drive an hour or more just to buy expensive fabric. If I did that, I wouldn’t be able to afford to quilt. I will also buy fabric from Walmart but I am more careful with my selection there as most fabric at Walmart is good but I have had one or two pieces that I felt were poorer quality.
Watch for Fabric Sales and Coupons for your Local Quilt Shop.
Quilt shops will also have occasional sales and/or coupons so if you prefer to shop at these locations take notice of when they have sales. Also ask if they ever give discounts to seniors or military.
Use New or Older Clothing.
I have made a lot of beautiful Memorial Quilts from a loved one’s clothing and T-Shirt quilts. I will use jeans, work shirts, uniforms, flannel, cotton, polyester and even some knits. These can be a little trickier to work with because they are often stretchy fabrics but they will add a wonderful texture and visual variance to your quilts. I recently found a pair of cotton pants with Mickey Mouse on them. I fell in love with them because they were so colorful, and I love bold colors. I found several other cotton fabrics that matched the colors in the Mickey pants and made a bold colorful quilt!
Rethink Your Backing Fabric
No one ever said your quilt backing had to be all New Cotton. You can use Fleece, Flannel or Bed Sheets as well. On many occasions I have found some wonderful fleece blankets on clearance and used these for my quilt backing. Joanns right now has a great clearance sale on Flannel fabric. The best part about using some of these is that you can get then in a wider width so you may be able to make your backing in all one piece instead of 2 or more like when using regular cotton (unless you want your backing to be in various colors/patterns). You can also use new or older cotton bed sheets for a quilt backing. Again, you can make your quilt backing in one solid piece with a sheet!
Check the Clearance Section for Your Favorite On-Line Stores
I have several on-lines stores that I love to shop from (e-Quilter, Missouri Star, etc.) but sometimes they can be expensive so I always check the clearance section of these stores. There are times I will find some beautiful fabrics on clearance so will purchase it then look for matching piece everywhere else so I can get the best deals. Also check for on-line sales from Joanns, Hobby Lobby and other on-lines stores that sell fabric and/or sheets.
Check Out Your Local Garage, Moving and Estate Sales
I have found some of the best deals at moving and estate sales because often the seller is willing to bargain with you. I once found an estate sale where a family was selling off all their mother’s quilting and sewing items because she had passed away and none of then sewed. There was more fabric and notions than I would have used in a year so I found lots of thread and items I purchased at a great price.
Note on Batting
I know that many quilters believe that the only batting you should use is expensive cotton batting. I disagree. There are many forms of batting. Cotton/Poly blends, Polyester, and Fleece. I love cotton batting but cotton will break down quicker than polyester and I want my quilts to last a lifetime so for most of my quilts I actually use Polyester more often than not. I have taken the backing off many older quilts to do repair work and the cotton batting inside was all balled up and a real mess.
Now when I am doing the Quilt-as-you-Go method I use a Fleece batting. The fleece can be cut into smaller pieces, fabric added to the top and then sewn back together to make wonderful quilts. And the batting doesn’t get stuck in my machine.
Shop Around for your batting to find the best deals. Sometimes Joanns has a sale on batting but the best price I have found so far has been Walmart on-line. I can buy a 96” x 9 yard Bolt of Poly Batting for just $30 on Walmart on-line. This bolt will make 4+ quilts depending on the size of the quilt and I will have lots of left overs for smaller projects like pillows, etc. For me the best part is that because it’s 96” wide, I don’t have to piece together my batting before I can sandwich my quilt!

yuu h. in my ramshackle dorm leader uniform fan-design (+ without cloak)
as usual, click on the image for a higher quality
i decided to try my hand at designing a uniform for the ramshackle dorm ! personally very happy with how it turned out:)
non-dorm leader variant of the ramshackle uniform feat. kat (@kit-ken / @clovers-n-roses's yuu):
also- if you'd like to, feel free to draw your yuu in this ramshackle uniform:) i'd be very flattered if you do:) just credit me for the original design also pls tag me i'd like to see uwaaaa
character design notes are under the cut as well for those interested:)
date: 17/08/23
like my work? consider ordering a commission // buying me a coffee // checking out my art tag or my masterlist | links can be found on my desc
general notes
same top hat and cloak as the ghosts - the cloak has ripped and frayed hem for that "ramshackle" look
dark makeup around eyes and on lips to have that sunken eyes ghost look: black eyeshadow and optional blue highlights around eyes + black/dark blue lipstick
white dress shirt + pants + shoes to emulate the white bedsheet ghosts of ramshackle
ruffles at the hem and back of the dress shirt are long and flowy to emulate the ghost tail so the students have a similar silhouette to the ghosts
shared design between dorm leader and dorm member
dark blue top hat
dress shirt all have the same collar and ruffles by the throat
black sleeve garter on both arms
buttons have ruffles only to the right (my right, their left)
dress shirt opens midway into an upside down V-shape
white dress pants with blue waistbands + the inside of the pockets are dark blue with lighter blue stripes + pocket stitching in dark blue x-shape
shoes are all primarily white with black and gold accents + golden buttons on the outside-side
unique to dorm leader
sleeves are actually shorter but with more elaborate ruffles: no cuff + ends at around midway on the forearm and flares into frills - two layers of ruffles
dress shirt hem flows into ruffles which covers the pants pockets and extends all the way to the back -> the frilled hems also have 2 layers -> the 2nd layer of ruffles (under) split into 2 "ghost tails"
pant legs are tucked inside the boots
boots that extend mid-lower leg, layered with white pleats with golden accents + 6 buttons on the outside + black body + golden sole + black strap with golden accent that goes under the shoe
customisation ideas for dorm members
same top hat + ruffles around the throat + collar as dorm leader
possible customisation for the cloak -> for kat, same cloak as yuu h. -> potential cloak idea: cape that splits halfway in the middle in an upside down V-shape for extra flowiness
dress shirt has frills but not as ornate as dorm leader
sleeves have frills but not as distinctive -> for kat, long cuff with 4 buttons, and ends with short pleats. -> potential sleeve idea would be like epel's school uniform
dress shirt hem opens like dorm leader but no ruffles in the front so pants pocket details are visible
dress shirt has long flowy ruffles for the "ghost tail" at the back only -> only 1 "tail" -> only 1 layer -> shape of actual ruffles is highly customisable, can be anything as long as it's long enough -> for kat, the "tail" slopes to one side, short on the left (my left, their right) and becomes long on the right -> potential "tail" idea: can be uniform/symmetrical
pant legs can be tucked into the shoe or not, depending on the shoe itself n personal choice -> for kat, pants are not tucked in -> pants hem can be flared into additional ruffles if so desired
choices for shoes is open to most styles as long as the colours and layered appearance remains more or less the same -> for kat, ankle boots with the same colour and pleating as yuu -> potential shoes idea: can be dress shoes, taller boots, school shoes, etc...

Chapter 3: Shopping Around
A/N: Delayed chapter, but here it's here! We get a glimpse of Reader's Past, Alastor's introduction and Vox's unwelcome arrival.
Word Count:4.8K
Chapter Two <- Previous Chapter
Darkness. A muted scream in the void, curling pressure around your thighs as if something was trying to drag you deeper into the black. You awoke with a sputtering cough as you jolted upward in the cozy bed. Unconsciously loosening your fingers from around your throat as you took another ragged breath. Dreams, once little escapes for the living, but in your mind a consistent reminder of the present. Black ink stained your fingertips as you looked down at them. Little delicate hands that hadn’t seen a spot of hard labor as you relied on your wits to get by. That hadn’t changed as you could feel the bitter taste of ink fading over your tastebuds. Was it getting worse? Or was it from waking up in an entirely new place that amplified your awareness?
It was all too tempting to fall back into the warm sheets as you fell back down with a huff. The weight of the bags under your eyes made it clear that you hadn’t slept well. Or if at all as you tried to remember the events of the night before. The mere fraction of movement as Lucifer tried to find the ideal spot for his desk. The chicken-scratch quality notes as he flipped through catalogs of furniture featured in the various Rings. Did he really want your opinion on flowers that had potentially fatal side effects? You could all but feel the slow pulse of headache from the mere memory of it as it reared its’ strength as your bedroom door slammed open.
The blonde tornado was in rare form today as you scrambled to keep your bedsheets up around you, while still reaching for the little black book on your nightstand. Boundaries, the King of Hell hadn’t a clue about boundaries as he continued oblivious to your discomfort. Your fogged mind managed to sort out the gist of the conversation. A shopping trip between daddy and daughter. Did you think Charlie would let him buy her new furniture? Her quarters were sparse, she deserved the world. But what if she said no? Should he take her to the boutiques of Greed first or would that opulence be too much? Was it better to ease her into it with Gluttony slow temptation?
Half of that was a muffled mess as Lucifer tripped over the edge of the floor rug into the end of your bed. His hat in disarray as you did your best to hide your laughter at his feeble leg kicks. Looking very much like his beloved waterfowl in the water as you were quick to smother your smile when he managed to right himself.
“Well. What do you think?” Lucifer huffed as you slowly trailed your pen over the hastily scribbled notes. You only knew the Princess through Lucifer’s biased views, but you could only imagine the chaos if the pair were unleashed in a Greed department store. It would be better for them to warm up, it seemed.
“Perhaps, a trip to Guttony for a spot of breakfast would be best.” You cautioned as Lucifer nodded in agreement. A full stomach would dissuade even the most determined of shoppers. It was an unfortunate flaw that even you admitted to as you became quite sluggish in the morning if it wasn’t a light meal.
“But I don’t know what she would like..what if-”
“It's the Gluttony Ring, sir, I am sure she will find something that tickles her fancy..” You were quick to cut off the words with a firm, but kind tone. The last thing you needed was the misanthropic man agonizing over if his estranged child would prefer pancakes over scones. Discreetly pulling on your robe, you were quick to usher him out of your quarters with a few nods of affirmation and hums.
There was a distant screech of protest and shouts as Lucifer had taken off to find Charlie without a second glance. Did she know about the trip? Far coarser words bounced off the walls from Vaggie, as the answer came in a resounding NO. Spontaneity ran in the family as a loud squeal came from Charlie as who knew what sorts of ideas Lucifer was filling her head with.
Quickly slamming your bedroom door shut, to prevent you having TWO issues on your hands. Charlie, at least, seemed to have a sense of space compared to her father. An eerie sense of calm trickled through you. A day off? It wasn’t as if Lucifer would drag you along to intrude on a bit of family bonding time. Still, the concept almost felt foreign to your workaholic mind as you trudged over your wardrobe with little flair. You couldn’t lay in bed all day, it was far too indulgent. Nor would sleep find you as you could feel your throat tighten at the thought.
No, there was a far more appealing option. A nice drink and your little black book.
The parlor of the hotel was strangely quiet aside from the faint click of glasses from the bar. Even its usual barfly was out for the day as you fiddled with the collar of your coat. Husker acknowledged your presence with a grunt before taking a better look at your outfit.
“It's a bit morbid isn’t it?”
“I prefer nostalgia. Mink was expensive in my time, don’t you know..” You retorted with a sniff. Your ears twitched as you could hear a rumble of activity from upstairs. Nothing fell through the second floor, so things seemed to be fine. Yet, the bartender had a point. The flattened empty skin of a fox’s head draped over your throat, while its brilliant coat of reds and whites curled around your body. The coat’s lower half mingled with warmer felts and velvets as it tried to conceal the poorer quality of the pelt. Clasped closed by the steel brooch as you crossed your legs revealing a sliver of fishnets beneath the pelts as you leaned against the bar.
“Now are you going to critique my choices in fashion or are you going to serve me a drink?”
“Gin n tonic?”
“Make it a whisky on the rocks. It’s my day off..” You muttered as Husker raised a furred brow at the drastic change in choice. A gin and tonic was light, botanical and easier on the tongue. Yet, whiskey burned like hot coals as it slid down the gullet. Even if garnished with a lemon twist as the little twist elegantly floated in the amber liquid. Oh, it burned, it burned away at the whispering thoughts as you were quick to order another. Then another. Burning away memories like a greedy flame licking away at fresh paper.
“And he thinks it’s alright!” Your voice pitched in emotion as you slammed your hand down on the polished counter as Husker looked more and more put out with each passing second. As if this sort of situation had been forced upon him frequently. He was a bartender afterall.
“So, we talking about the big boss or Al?” Husker growled
“That’s-not-the-point” You hiccuped as you could feel scarlet chase over your features. Warming your features in an entirely different manner compared to the liquor seeping through your rational thoughts. How did bitching about furniture and boundaries turn into this as you took another sip of your drink. Was this the third or fourth, you were losing count. Your tail lashed betraying your agitation as Husk’s keen eyes didn’t budge from your sulking form. He had a point. Fucker.
A cool burst of air ran up the back of your heated neck as the front doors slammed open. Husk visibly bristled as the intruder swept past them without a single word.
“Fucking prick. Don’t he know that-”
“Shorter than I thought he would be” You snickered as you drained the whiskey in one final draught. Swiving in your chair, you waited for the entertainment to start. The fruitless attempts of watching the one-sided dance between Vox and the unfettered guards. One step to the left, another tick of a typewriter as another pair of paperboys appeared to impede the Overlord.
“FUCK” Vox snarled as his hand was bitten into as he tried to shove one of the paperboy’s back by the shoulder. A further burst of giggles slipped from your loose lips as the Overlord cradled his injured hand. FInally he spun around on his heel to witness you almost falling off the barstool as you idly waved them off from pouncing on the overlord.
“Where the fuck is Lucifer and what the fuck is with these-” Vox’s hand bled freely as the crimson droplets flew through the air. The paperboys were all but trembling with anticipation, but didn’t budge a step from the stairs as you dismissed them with a short whistle. The creatures tipped their hands before vanishing into a spontaneous black burrow. Vox connected the dots with ease as he turned to the head up the stairs once more.
“He is out. Please, Mr. Vox do not make me call reinforcements. I can write a message for him if you insist.”
The words came out fluidly if a bit clipped as your job had molded around you like a cap to a bottle. Even in your intoxicated state, the script that left your lips was without flaw. Even if your amusement of the situation was betrayed by your tiny smile taking satisfaction in the entire situation.
“And when will he come back?” Vox asked politely, almost all too sweetly. Losing patience with the word ‘no’ it seemed or anything that impeded him from getting what he wanted. An Overlord at the base. There was a click of ice and liquor as you snorted unladylike into your fresh glass.
“Do I look like I know? I can’t exactly demand the King of Hell ignore his whims.” You sighed before taking a sip of the fresh drink. The kindly bartender had even garnished it with a cherry as you fished it out of the cold glass. Evidently taking as much joy in seeing the Overlord get stifled in his own plans as you did.
“And who the fuck are you exactly?” Vox growled as you could feel the static in the edge of your skirts cling to your skin as the Overlord leaned over you. A show of intimidation as you gently returned the glass to its coaster.
“Lucifer’s secretary. Now, would you like to leave a message?” You replied sweetly as that answer seemed to deflate Vox’ temper by a hair. You weren’t affiliated with the Hotel in any capacity beyond Lucifer, which meant you weren’t affiliated with HIM. Oh, wasn’t he terribly clever as he gestured to the ragged coat.
“You’re Lucifer’s secretary, but you dress like this? Take a position at Voxtech and you’ll be flush with cash. If you play your cards right.” Vox explained as he placed an unwelcome hand on your shoulder that you were quick to brush away with a scowl. He even had the nerve to spin you back around in your chair as you faced the bar. The Overlord crowding your space without a single notion of boundaries.
“Scotch.” Vox barked at Husk, the bartender huffed at the order. He wasn’t some sort of dog that did tricks on command. The rattle of scotch decanter was all too loud as fingertips brushed over your face to make you look at the Overlord.
“Come on, what’s a little tour around the King’s office gonna do. Come on now.” Vox teased as you bit down the urge to respond with violence. Bitter ink whispered over your tongue as the Overlord’s other hand slid over your thigh. Far too close for comfort as you swallowed the bitter ink. You couldn’t fall apart now.
“I would like to keep my job. Now if you would remove your hand from my thigh. I am married..” You hissed as Vox laughed at your response.
“Married. In Hell. Hate to remind you of that, sweetheart, not sure if those sorts of vows mean anything down here.” Vox tutted as his grip on your face tightened. His request for a tour was turning into a demand as you pulled your face away from him.
“Oh, do try telling that to my husband, can’t get it through his skull. As damaged as that is.” You retorted as you removed the gloves from your hand. The brass ring on your finger caught in the light as Vox rolled his eyes.
“Besides, now why would I want to work for someone like you. Called my work a fucking puff peace followed by the apparent ‘dismissal’ of over half of Velvette’s love potion staff after sources revealed what exactly was in them. Coddled, old, semen and burnt bedspreads if I remember my wording correctly..” You hissed as if the insults were laid against you yesterday instead of all those years.
“Truth hurts doesn’t it.” You snarled as the glass in Vox’s hand shattered. Now you have sent the Overlord into a little fit. The lightbulbs behind the bar shattered as Husk protest was lost in the groaning noise of the walls. Ink trickled from the corner of your mouth as you staggered into an upright position. The drinks weren’t the best idea, but neither was running away from the irate Overlord.
“Oh, I thought I heard something pathetic.”
“You’re ALIV-E”
The glitched snarl went mute to your ears as you were hastily dragged behind the bar counter by Husk lest you become a part of the damage to the Hotel. Steel cables ripped from the walls, snapping like electric snakes as Alastor descended the stairs, green energy crackling from the microphone. The world went silent around you as bitter ink spilled fruitlessly from your lips as Husk tried to ask you a question. His ears pinning back was the last sight you had before the world went dark.
New Orleans: 1923
Jazz, cigar smoke and patrons floated about you as you narrowly avoided running into a stumbling patron as your drink’s tray rattled ominously. It would be the last straw if you dropped this tray as the expensive whiskey swayed in its protective glass as if swaying to the trumpets. Your destination is a trio of chain smoking gangsters who greeted you with a cheer as you set the drinks down. A pat on the butt and earning one dollar bill was your reward as you clutched the money to your chest. Their attention didn’t last long as a busty blonde on stage burst into another number, backed by thundering trumpets. You were quick to retreat from the table, tucking the cash into your camisole as the bartender barked further orders at you. The rest of the night was blur as you blissfully took a break to sip water tinged with lime. Alcohol didn’t agree with your mother, it wouldn’t with you. You didn’t take that chance.
Unfortunately you weren’t alone for long as a strong-looking hand flicked at the feather in your cream headband. Benson? Bronson? Regardless of the gentleman’s name, he was quick to call your attention as you forced a polite smile on your face. He was quick to press a kiss to your hand as you caught scant words over the thundering music.
A date? With him. Tonight. He had just purchased a new vehicle that he needed to take a real drive. Get its wheels muddy as his fingers grazed your bare arm. Blushing prettily you were too quick to decline with a shake of your head.
“Come on now, don’t be like that. I saw how you pocketed that cash, baby doll. I could make it worth your while.” His words were a rasp against your ear as his other hand slid up your leg. The threadbare stockings and patch jobs gave him all the information he needed to know about your financial status. Struggling, destitute, so like the select other women here willing to ply guests with other ‘offers’. Your stubborn pride made you want to kick off at the idea, but rent and bills were coming due. It was just one time, right?
“Apologies for being late, the cops are sniffing about tonight. Be a shame if Harry’s was caught out in it all.” A smooth voice broke through your thoughts as your intended suitor cursed under his breath before backing off. His quick retreat made it all the clearer that the trio wasn’t under the control of Mob Boss Gisno, but someone else entirely as you watched them scatter like a group of rats.
Further to the point there was something familiar about your eevedropper’s voice. You didn’t recognize him at all. Brown almost black hair curled neatly, deep brown eyes and taller than average stature made him almost indistinguishable. Yet it was the voice that was striking a cord in your mind.
“Ha, I'm afraid this happens often. People hear the voice, but draw a blank in person.” Your eavesdropper mused as he drained his glass of rye within a single blink of the eye. A practiced drinker it would seem as the truth forced itself to the front of your mind.
“You’re that radio host. Aren’t you? Stirred up a bit of controversy last week in response to some bluenose housewife protesting your local news taking precedence over some hacksaw politician’s newest election numbers.” You mused as the radio host’s lips curled into a faint smile. His hands raised in surrender as you laughed softly.
“Unless she is blind, she can read print like the rest of us. As difficult as some of that is to swallow these days.” You grumbled as you rolled your eyes far too often reading the morning papers. Even worse still was when the little paperboys swarmed you with the ‘true’ gossip as soon as you purchased it. Half of it was powdered sugar and the other was full of shit. As if the public needed more excitement in their lives than the present.
“Not a fan of the papers?” The host mused as he leaned forward on his hand. As if he didn’t expect to find another admirer of the media tonight, but what was he looking for then? It wasn’t going to be found at the bottom of a bottle.
“Reality has tainted my taste for fairy tales..” You muttered as you took a long drink of your water. The host chuckled before gesturing to the chaos surrounding you. Men and women in states of intoxication seeking something to hide away from the truth or some old wound.
“Now you sound like some crone. I imagine you have quite a few more years to pass through, my dear.” The host tutted as you scoffed in response. Some here could forget their troubles for the night, but it would catch up with them come morning.
“A radio host and fortune teller. What an exotic career you must lead.”
“I have the smallest amount of my mother’s talent. Besides, it’s written all over your face, you want to be anywhere else but here. New Orleans isn’t home is it?” The host prodded as you sheepishly ducked your head. No, it wasn’t. You grew up in northern New York, away from the Big Apple. After your Pa died, Mother couldn’t manage the forestry business, so she packed up her brood of kids to head to the city. Picked up the bottle too.
“I didn’t mean to-”
“No. You’re right, I arrived here a year ago. Finding my feet still it seems. Work has been harder to come by than I thought. No one wants a secretary with a mouth or unwillingness to play second fiddle to a housewife.” You muttered as bitterness coated the words. It was after the third time you impaled a handsy employer’s palm with a pen point that had soiled your reputation. Despite your quality work, no one wanted to be bit by a rabid bitch.
“When I find myself stuck, I like to look up at the stars.”
“Here, in the city? Those must be some glasses you have there.”
“No. Even been to the bayou, Miss. Stars like fire and mangroves towering around you make your problems seem all the smaller.”
“You must be a radio host with such poetic words like that. Able to make a bayou sound like a fairy tale. It can’t be that fantastical.”
“It is, if you were with the right person.”
Charming. Smooth. Able to match your sharp words with gentle persuasion. That was the first night you met Alastor in that smokey speakeasy. Him plucking topics out of you like he was fox finessing a chicken’s feathers.
“You good?”
Husker’s rough voice broke you from your trance as you hissed in discomfort when you tried to move. It felt like every single part of your body had been pricked by needles as you wiped away the trickle of ink from your lips. Husk was quick to grab you by the arm to hold you place as you tried to stand up. It was for the better as plaster crumbled from the wall behind you. You didn’t dare imagine the carnage that waited beyond the safety of the bar. Glass, plaster and other materials littered the floor in front of you as you could hear the crackle of electricity in the air.
“How long was I out?” You muttered as you tried to flex your fingers. Ignoring the prickling sensation as you forced the fatigued digits to respond.
“Bout thirty minutes. Happen often?” Husker pressed as you blinked at him once. His scoff was all the answer you needed. He knew that Sinners carried their burdens in all sorts of ways. A bit of a black out wasn’t unheard of it.
“Motherfucker!” The curse slipped from your lips as liquor bottles were smashed by an errant tentacle emerging from the wall, swiping out at glass bottles as their sticky contents rained down on your sheltering forms. Ignoring the prickle of alarm up your spine, you knocked against the ruined floor, a black burrow appeared underneath it. A furry brown arm stuck out as if waiting for paper
“I don’t have paper with me. Quick go fetch Lucifer, lest these territorial dogs wreak the entire hotel.” You hissed as the messenger gave a thumb’s up. A bark of laughter and parade of insults baited your curiosity to peer over the counter, much to Husk’s low protests.
“Getting slow on your feet old man.” Vox snarled as you couldn’t help flinch as the crackling wires snapped at Alastor’s side. Searing a hole in fabric as the radio demon retaliated by slipping a tentacle around his opponent’s legs to trip him up. It was a miracle the parlor still stood as Vox’s dismantling of the electrical system left crumbling plaster in its place, while Alastor was less than careful on where he spawned the rampaging tentacles that swung at anything in their vicinity.
You weren’t an architect, but you knew any further structural damage would send the newly rebuilt hotel crumbling. Visible relief flooded you as bright light burst in the center of the room, putting both combatants on their toes. A first several bewildered, overburdened imps with packages appeared, followed by Charlie’s shrill screech of protest as she took in the ruins about her. Vaggie beside her looked less than pleased, but by the far the biggest reaction came from Lucifer.
“Now sweetheart, what’s got you screeching like you are being bathed in boiling oil. Did you want something else from-. Oh.” Lucifer’s words trailed off as there was a sharp yelp from Vox as he was tripped up by a tentacle. Falling flat on his face much to Alastor’s joyful cackles that turned into a hiss as he was snapped at by the wires.
“MY PARLOR.” Charlie cried out as her eyes prickled with tears before lightly placing her hand against the crumbling front door. A wail escaping her as that gentle action sent the elegant panes to fragment into pieces.
“Now what happened here..” Lucifer’s voice was deathly calm as his eyes flicked to you as you carefully picked your way over from the bar wreckage. Your manicured nail jabbed in Vox’s prone form.
“He asked to speak with you.” A grumble escaped Vox as the Overlord raised his head in response, only to be stunned once more by a brick of falling plaster.
“He decided-”
“I don’t need to understand the petty feuds between Overlords. Like fucking children in a sandbox fighting over toys. I am ASKING what happened.” Lucifer hissed as he tugged you down by the collar of your coat. Oh, he was in rare form now.
“It appeared the Overlord known as Vox showed up without an appointment.” You stated bluntly as you flicked through your black book with a single brush of your fingertips. Thankfully Lucifer’s grip on your coat dropped after that. Laughter bubbled up from the King of Hell that sent ice down your spine.
“Why is it that you Sinners think you can do whatever you want here. All but ready to barge into my OFFICE without an APPOINTMENT. Has the entire hierarchy of Hell fallen within half the day I have been gone.” Lucifer snarled as he gestured to wreckage around him.
“I will say this once. Only once. Sinners don’t get to make demands in my kingdom. They make fucking appointments.” Lucifer snarled as he began to drag Vox over the rubble by the throat. What limited brain cells the Sinner had were working overtime as the Sinner forced himself to be as limp as a rabbit caught in the jaws of a lion. Even if it was painful as his screen-like face flickered colors when the Devil’s grip dragged him through sturdy stone and glass.
“He is never getting that fucking appointment if this puff piece author has anything to say about it..” You muttered under your breath as Husker chuckled at the snide comment. There was a sort of smugness about the bartender now as you both took in Alastor’s rougher shape, he hadn’t come out of the little spat unscathed. His left leg limped along as he leaned heavily on the cane as he did his best to clear the grit from his voice.
“Now, Charlie no need to fret, I’ll-”
“MY FUCKING WALL ALASTOR. Couldn’t you have taken it outside for once.” Charlie snapped as she whirled on her feet to face the dimming smile of the Radio Demon. Oh, this was going to be delightful as you and Husk posted up on the overturned bar stools as the Princess of Hell’s verbal rampage ran roughshod over the hotelier. Evidentially that section of the hotel had gone through very short lifespans as Charlie’s voice pitched in volume with each interrupting attempt from Alastor. Tears ran freely down the Princess’s face as Vaggie intervened with a clap of her hands, gently comforting her girlfriend as she pointed at the wreckage.
“Fix it.”
“Done.” Flat, direct without a single hint of sarcasm as you spied his injured wrist spasm uncomfortably as little souls began the tedious process of cleaning up.
A much calmer Lucifer returned moments later as he was quick to coddle his upset daughter. The pair were able to usher her up the half surviving portion of the main staircase as you gave a slow clap in the deafening quiet.
“Quite the show. Alastor. A day off well spent.” You announced as Alastor ran an agitated hand over his face.
“You still have half a day, don't ruin it.” Alastor hissed through clenched teeth as you nodded in agreement. Ruffled, Alastor was beyond ruffled after that little bout of combat. He was all but scolded like a disobedient guard dog by Charlie and in turn Vaggie. Were Lucifer’s words of Sinners ringing his ears now? The clear definition of Hell’s hierarchy.
Oh. This was delicious.
“A bath I think would be perfect. Do enjoy your little chores, Alastor.”
“Enjoy your bath, wife. It’s rather entertaining to see YOU play that card.” Alastor hissed as you forced a neutral expression on your face. Of all the drunken conversations he would have heard during your rants to Husk. It was that one, he had heard. The subtle deflection of your marriage to dissuade an arch rival of your ex-husband.
It was with that simple knowledge that your leg was once caught again in a bear trap. So, you had two choices, free yourself in the long painful process of prying it open or allow yourself to bleed out.
The metaphorical wound sputtered once as the back of his ring finger grazed over your hand as you stormed past him. Now you really needed that bath as you could feel guilt seep in with the sticky alcohol covering your ruined coat.
He had to have the last word in at least one situation today.

Ultimate Comfort Kit Guide <3
As an ADHD girlie who suffers from anxiety and panic attacks, I want to share with you some great items that are part of my comfort kit because, neurodivergent fellows or not, staying home or traveling, I want to give you some tips to build your own:
Noise cancelling headphones: to be specific, mine have a wire because I'm not a big fan of wireless headphones because I'd always forget to charge them, so I got a pair of noise cancelling headphones with two wires and its little bag to carry it everywhere on Amazon.
Favourite stuffed toy: mine is a banana minion because my dead cousin loved minions and I feel her close when I hold it by my side.
Water bottle: since I drink a lot of water, I bought this 1lt metal water bottle. It's a bit hard to carry it around, but at least I'm sure I have enough water for a long time and I won't have to refill it immediatamently (I tried another water bottle my uncle got for me, but I had to refill it every five minutes). You can also bring a bottle of your favourite drink, along with the water.
Pillow: I have a favourite pillow. It's a Harry Potter pillow I got when I went to Primark for the first time in Italy and it's the best pillow ever. It's so soft , such high quality material and it's so comfortable. I love it and it's part of my comfort kit.
Blankets: along with my pillow, I always carry this Nightmare Before Christmas blanket my parents got me a long time ago.
Medicines/supplements organizer: let's make this clear.. it's a must have because this item changed my life. I sometimes forget to carry my medicines when I travel or leave home to go somewhere and this is good because you can take it on your flights in case you travel often and you can take a single box for each day of the week to carry it with you like if you need to take some medicines right after dinner and you're at the restaurant.
Lavender spray mist: I spray it all over my bed before to go to sleep or when I feel very anxious or stressed. It's easy to carry everywhere and suitable for blankets and bedsheets.
Salt lamp: I have one at home, but I'm planning to buy a smaller one that powers with batteries to carry in my backpack during trips.
More things I suggest are: box of tissues; phone/tablet/ipad/laptop + chargers; Bath & Body Works hand sanitizer with case to hang to your bag/backpack; sunflower badge to wear around your neck if you own one; fidgeting toys or activities like coloring books with crayons; your favourite books or comics to read; anti nausea wristbands; vicks vaporub jar or vapopads; essential oil diffuser with your favourite oils; whatever you may need or whatever makes you comfortable (they don't call it 'comfort kit' for nothing) <3
Let me know in the comments or my ask box what you guys think of this guide, what's in your own comfort kits or if you have any items to suggest.

New Post: Turning bedsheets into a wardrobe and other op shop thoughts
Originally posted on my blog: https://garaksapprentice.blogspot.com/2023/09/turning-bedsheets-into-wardrobe.html
The Dilemma
When it comes to my clothes, I'm a remarkably lazy snob.
I want things that fit well. (This isn't an unreasonable thing to want, I feel.) I want comfortable fabrics that breathe, and don't end up smelling like a billy goat slept on them. (I swear, since starting T, I strip my shirts more often than I ever had to strip the cloth nappies.)
I want colours - black and white and grey don't count - that don't make me look dead. (When did all the t-shirts in the men's section become navy and olive?) And I want them to last longer than six months before they start a part-time internship in the mending box.
(The pile doth wax and the pile doth wane, but there's always a bloody pile.)
This short list is surprisingly difficult to achieve, off the rack. Anything that fits my shoulders won't fit my chest, and vice versa. The armscye is usually either comically large, or too small to fit my biceps. And pants? Let's just not go there. (Belts help. Kind of.)
I really dislike how polyester and other synthetics breathe (they don't), so I avoid them whenever I can. It's getting much harder to find clothes made of 100% natural fibres, whether new or second-hand.
Colours I have slightly more luck with - or I would, if the first two things didn't get in the way. Longevity is always an utter crapshoot. (Though I've found that wovens last longer than t-shirts.)
The Solution
Luckily, I know how to sew. I used to do it for a living. (Not clothes, mind - baby carriers. More structural, less technically complex.) My possess all the basic tools, a few of the extras, and a reasonable set of skills.
(I've been making clothes for the kids for years - they care a lot less about style and fit. And skirts are easy.)
So I'm taking a two-pronged approach to this dilemma. I'm practicing making things I actually like and will wear, and religiously patching my current wardrobe while I make replacements.
Making clothes, naturally, requires material. So instead of going to the op shop for clothes, I'm going for fabric. (I stopped buying new years ago, except for underwear, shoes, and the occasional really high quality item from places that at least pretend to pay their garment workers.) But my favourite deal-hunting section isn't sewing/craft - it's the linens.
Wait, what? Why?
Thrift store fabrics usually can't tell you what they're made from. (The staff get narky when you try to burn test the goods, sadly.) Plus there's just not that much of it. Bedding, tablecloths etc are donated far more frequently, and often still have their tags on them.
Now, you do have check for wear. Some donations look brand new, some have had a long life already. Check for pilling or thinner areas, especially in the middle of bedsheets (fitted ones are worse for this than flats). It's easier if you can hold things up to the light. Usually things in worse condition will be priced lower, but not always.
Why not buy clothes six sizes too large and chop them up to make new stuff?
I mean, you can. It's certainly a common choice, what with all the "thrift upcycle/refashion" videos and blogs and such out there dedicated to it. I personally don't, for the following reasons.
Care for people: I take the permaculture ethics seriously.
Have you ever really looked at the racks in an op shop? Piles of sizes S-L, much less outside of that. The bigger your meatsuit, the harder it is to find things that have a hope of fitting. Too bad if you hate stripes, or the fabric is itchy - if there's only two things in your size, then that's the choice you have. It sucks. (I am in no way body shaming here. Bodies do a lot of hard work for the people who live in them, and no one gets to judge anyone else's.)
I'm both outside the common sizes, and a weird enough shape to have trouble besides. And I've been broke enough that op shop clothes were a necessity, not a choice. I know what it's like to have to take what I could get as long as it fit "enough".
To me it is deeply unethical to take the few decent garments that are available for plus sized people, chop them up, and make something for me to wear out of them, when I can just as easily start with a sheet or a table cloth and achieve a similar result.
Efficient energy planning: I have limited time and brainpower available, and sometimes my executive dysfunction is bad. Like, "I'm eating peanut butter out of the jar for dinner because my brain has stopped" levels of bad.
Cutting up a garment, taking off buttons, and so on, adds several extra steps to a sewing project. Sometimes that's fine - in those situations, I have plenty of old clothes in the stash. More often, though, those extra steps completely derail me.
So I find it easier to start a project with what is essentially yardage. Even when I have to cut around stains, rips, or worn spots, it uses less cognitive capacity.
I also prefer rectangularly cut garments, and zero waste patterns that have you draw directly onto the fabric. These work better on something that started out life as a rectangle.
Use biological resources: Natural fibres are renewable. Mined ones are not. Where I can, I use the former. That's not to say I never use things with synthetic content - it's technically possible, but in practice hard as hell.
Produce no waste: I've still got a sizeable stash of acrylic knitting yarns, plus other bits and bobs, hanging around from before I made this commitment. Throwing them out or donating them (ie making them someone else's problem) won't actually fix things; I simply use them in appropriate projects, and when I replace them, I do so with things that fit my current ethical stance and needs.
But sheets are all plain white and boring!
I can see why you might think that. TV has done a lot of false advertising on that point. It is false. Trust me.
(Ignore the movies. Real sheets come in just about every colour you can think of.)
But, I know not everyone likes plain colours. What if you're madly in love with prints, or shirts with witty slogans on them? Well, besides the growing number of fancy sheets out there, might I interest you in the doona covers?
(The top right and bottom left are ex-doona covers. The rest are sheets.)
Or the fine art of embroidery?
(I shall have the most glorious shirt sleeves when I finish embroidering them.)
Or fabric painting?
(This is technically a mend, but I totally plan on doing similar to brand new things I make.)
Or the many different styles of natural dyeing?
(Soursobs from the local park, gently turning into dye liquor for some dyeing experiments.)
Or, if you've got lots of smaller or oddly shaped pieces of fabric hanging around, maybe some patchwork (all YouTube links)? It's not just coats and dressing gowns, either - you can patchwork jeans, trousers, dresses, shirts and more.
The point here is that fabric (and buttons, zips, thread, etc) doesn't have to be a thing you buy brand new. With time, patience, and a bit of luck, you can find everything you need to create great things second hand.
(Maybe I'll write a future post breaking down the costs of some of the things I've made...)

Hi Gina ! Hope you’re well.
I was wondering if you know the title of this fic. All I remember from it is Harry was going to cook the group dinner using a Louis kitchen and Louis went out and bought a new set of plates since he said Harry’s cooking deserves good quality plates. I think he also bought new bedsheets as well. He would stress call Zayn while buying these items and he would just laugh at him.
Thank you 🩵
I believe it’s this one, love.

glowing, growing 🔮 🍀
It is gently dropping small, delicate flakes of white outside & the air is so still, quiet, like a whisper. My love took the dog & headed out to a town 2 hours away to meet his father so he can spend tomorrow working on an initiative that may prove to be a wonderful investment of time/energy/etc., but not without quite a lot of work first. I am proud of him in a lot of ways, but I will miss him. I do enjoy my down time though, so I will make the most of it.
I had planned on meeting up with a friend tonight after she had dinner with her sister, but neither of us wanted to do much once the sky grew grey & it began to snow. I wrote a list of what I want to do solo tomorrow--tea (I need to reign back my coffee consumption, again), journal, breakfast, eat, go to yoga, get a juice from the place next door to the studio, a bath with the bath bomb I bought at the botanical gardens. Then, get some work done on the photo and/or writing project, buy some yarn to make gifts, write xmas cards, then maybe meet up with that friend I missed today. It sounds like a great solo day, exactly the kind of thing I like to do! A little chill, a little activity/movement in the A.M., a little productivity, a little shopping, a little fun.
It is funny that since I sorted through my clothes & replaced them with quality items I enjoy wearing that I feel like I have SO many options but I have SUCH a small number of items now compared to when I started weeding out synthetics. I have reflected that life is funny like that, sometimes when we lack quality we go for quantity, don't we?
Being deliberate in purchasing/replacing items has been a years-long thing & lately I do feel surprised that interacting with quality on a regular basis is satisfying, though I have kind of always held the idea that spending extra $ on things you interact with daily will make your daily experience more enjoyable. A nice face wash, comfortable bedsheets, decent rubber gloves to wash dishes in. I suppose I will just never stop appreciating little things in life.
Sunday bb will return, we will relax & play BG3, spend our last little bit of solo time together until next year, quite literally. Tuesday our friend arrives, I visit the allergist, then Thursday my cousin arrives, then Sunday we fly to Texas, then it's holiday madness & remote work, then we fly to Mexico, the new year blooms, more remote work, & we return to life & a new semester.
In more mundane news, I told myself that I would learn how to french braid my hair while it's short so I can become accustomed to it as it grows out & I have stuck to my word! 3 successful braids so far, though my arms do get exhausted & I feel feeble every time I braid it. Just as I feel weak every time I do core exercises (2 down this week! pretty good considering I spent 3 full & exhausting days in the office today) at least I'm doing it! I will get better! I can't expect myself to be good at something right off the bat, as much as I want to be for my ego's sake.
I still always feel at least a little anxious after socializing with people I am not intimately close with, & I have done an assload of socializing over the last 3 days, BUT I feel relatively unscathed after this week. 2 fumbles, which I felt I saved, & maybe I shouldn't be cataloging my social blunders mentally but also maybe mentally I'm a little left of center & I should just be OK with that, too, instead of self-monitoring so heavily. Anyway, I think the level of comfort I DO feel has a lot to do with the fact that I really just feel delightful about the people I work with; I really genuinely like them all. They are all such characters, so knowledgeable, incredibly well-intentioned, & most of them are as sassy & quippy as I enjoy in a person without the malicious undertone that often accompanies that trait.
Anyway I am trying to remind myself that bettering is incremental & when I look back at how far I have come I am proud of myself, too. Lastly, perhaps, I must shake the scolding I want to give myself at every imperfection.
It is a beautiful night & I am comfortable, listening to music & watching everything collect a thin layer of white outside of my window. I have things to look forward to, people to love, people to love me back, humble goals, & a deep appreciation for the now. I hope you, too, find a quiet sort of peace as the year wraps itself in darkness & cold. I hope spring makes you feel like you can start over if you need to. I hope you treat yourself gently tomorrow.
