Alright, maybe this is me being presumptuous, but I feel like I need to say something. I’m going to offer my two cents about the cameo situation.

I did not buy a cameo when George did it, but upon asking someone who did, they costed £40. The price of the joint cameo is evidently £80.

Is that too high of a price?

If you thought £40 for George’s cameo was fine, then you have to say “no”.

George by himself was £40. If Jayden made his own by himself, it would probably also be £40. Therefore, if you add them together, you get £80.

People need to understand that while they might have fun with the cameos, they are still working. Recording videos like that is exhausting, and if you don’t think so, you’ve clearly never done it. I have recorded reaction videos and after thoughts and stories for years, and I still get exhausted if I have to do a multiple part story, or do it over and over until I’m satisfied.

Now, I know a lot of people are peeved more about the phrasing of these joint cameos as a “gift for the fans” when the price might be out of budget for a lot of people.

But if you are throwing a tantrum over it, you need to sit the fuck down, and check your damn privilege.

It is a gift.

They don’t have to do this. They literally don’t. They don’t have to interact with us. They don’t have to post anything. They owe you nothing.

Instead, they have taken the time out of their days, their schedules, whatever they might be busy with, or even if they’re relaxing, and they’ve decided to record video messages for you.

Not to mention, do you even understand what they are putting themselves in risk of emotionally or mentally?

The very first thing that came to a LOT of people’s minds when this was announced was: “I hope no one asks them to kiss because we’ll never get Payneland.”

If you didn’t think that, congratulations! You have apparently been fortunate enough not to encounter what real Internet behavior is like. Or maybe you’re new to a fandom space, and this is your first time! Great!

You might be thinking: “No one would actually do that; at least not in this fandom!”

But the truth of the matter is that there are many people who would and probably WILL do that.

The anonymous nature of the Internet has enable millions, and I mean millions, of people to act on and voice their most disgusting and disturbing thoughts. The content or person does not always reflect on the people who digest or interact with it. There are monsters everywhere; they are in every space whether you encounter them or not.

By being online all of us open ourselves up to the risk of people attacking us or exposing us to things we do not enjoy or want. For people of any level of fame, it’s multiplied tenfold.

George and Jayden can turn off direct messages, block people, mute tags, and whatnot, so they can avoid most attempts to reach them. By offering these cameos, they are giving a direct route for people to type whatever the hell they want into their message, and whether they like it or not, they’ll probably be reading it.

This is an open invitation for those awful people to request anything, to say anything, to ask anything, even if they report it and don’t respond, they’ll likely see it.

Invasive questions about their sexualities, their relationships, their personal lives. Disgusting thirst messages. Disturbing requests asking for specific things to act as a replacement or substitute for what we would’ve liked to see in the show.

Anything and everything you can think of is possibly something they will encounter, and they’re willing to take that risk to give you something special. To talk directly to you, even if it’s only for a minute.

It’s become increasingly clear, to me at least, that Jayden is a sensitive soul. Not in a “can’t take a joke” way, or in any condescending way. He’s just kind. He’s kind in a way that is taken advantage of in online spaces. He’s also young. A lot of this is still new to him.

He apologizes like it’s his fault if his stream chat gets some bad people in it. He was talking about how he wanted to continue playing Detroit: Become Human really badly, but felt like we would be upset if he didn’t stream his entire play-through. He asked for a list of names of people who support him on Twitch, their usernames and actual names, because he wanted to keep track of them.

Jayden was really excited about the joint cameos. He looked so thrilled to talk about it, and was looking forward to hanging out with George, and doing this for fans.

When fans turned around and yelled about prices, it probably crushed him! Instead of reciprocated excitement, he got bitterness and hate. And for something that he might not even have control over, mind you.

It feels like he can never do enough to make fans happy.

It’s not his fault the show was canceled, but he probably feels just as bad about it as we all do! It’s disappointing! It’s upsetting! And he wanted to do it! But he can’t, and that has to feel frustrating as someone passionate about what they do.

It’s not his fault some fans are toxic or judgmental of every interaction he has with his community. It’s not his fault that people spread hate.

But it probably feels like he can at least put a stop to it by not continuing to do any of it. If he just stops streaming, no toxic chats. If he stops talking to fans, no people complaining about favoritism.

I don’t blame him for wanting to walk away entirely.

To wrap this up, if you have anything disrespectful to say about the boys or this situation, do us all a favor and keep your damn mouth shut.

I expected better from this fandom than behaving like entitled children. We’ve gained thousands of signatures, rallied together to buy a billboard for this show, but we can’t maintain a supportive space for the actors? How do you expect us to succeed in saving this show if we can’t even do that?

“This is madness.” Your agent mutters for the nth time in a row clearly panicking. It was quite comical to see him pacing back and forth looking like he's about to have a heart attack right then and there.

What was even more comical was the fact that across from his frantic state was you, hands properly poised on your lap, an easy smile drawn, and chin tilted upwards as the make-up artist busied themselves with your face.

“Because these are measly tabloids and those are all just rumors” a shrug as you stare at the blurry photos of you and your ‘assumed’ lover.

“Your entire career is hanging by a loose thread and you're worrying about the tabloid photos and the lighting?!” Your agent thinks back to the times where he wasn't assigned to you, the times where the most stress he's ever had was a wrong coffee order.

Sure he loves you to death but the reason for all his headaches came in a conveniently wrapped you-shaped package and now it apparently comes with a buy one take one deal.

“My career is fine. The photos are terrible. And it's precisely why we can just deny I have anything to do with this entire conundrum” You say pointing to the blurry blob that is supposed to represent ‘you’.

A part of you didn't want to deny it, the small selfish part of you wanted to just confirm all the rumors and gossip by clicking on the simple heart-react to any one of the endless tabloids on social media.

“And knowing Mr. Reca he'll probably get another rumored lover in a span of a couple days—” your words tasted bitter as they left your tongue even if it came off as a joke to ease up your agents anxiety.

“Is that really what you think of me, my darling star?” A new voice joined in the fray and you jumped when you felt two arms circle easily around your waist and the smell of old parchment paper and leather surrounded your senses.

“Mr. Reca.” Your agent lets out an exhausted sigh at his presence, as if the director being here added an additional load on his shoulders. The newest load that was currently taking solace in nuzzling his face against the crook of your neck.

“Dearest?” Your voice came next—pleasantly surprised, shouldn't he be at his filming site right now?—and you can almost physically feel how the other melted against your figure, arms tightening gently and bringing you into a back hug.

“What's this about me getting a new lover in a few days?” He mumbles softly, lower lip jutting out in an exaggerated pout and you can feel it touch the thin skin of your neck making your heartbeat pick up its pace ever so slightly.

“Well…” you drawl out as you try to detach yourself from him but that only results in him squeezing you tighter against him, his face still against your neck (which was now growing hot at the constant contact)

“You aren't Penacony’s most eligible bachelor for no reason” a small jab disguised as a tease. You can't help it, the small pinch of jealousy that seeds itself in your very very patient heart.

He was a celebrity, he was stupidly handsome, stupidly charming, and that meant that he had everybody fawning and bending over backwards for him. Not that he paid attention to any of those frivolities always rudely turning the other cheek. It still didn't help the rumor mill from cooking up another theory about him dating some random celebrity figure and it didn't help that sour feeling you get whenever you read about it online.

Although It did help that you were dating the real thing, Penacony's darling director. Wrapped tightly around your fingertips.

It helped very much to know that most of his films were love letters directed at you. Directed for you. In which his films would always start off with a cursive ‘for my darling muse’—it was his signature tell and something that was known by almost everyone in Penacony.

There were endless theories that surrounded those four sudden words that appeared in his recent best selling films.

You spent hours sifting through all the comments with a small knowing smile. You were there throughout the entire process (saved for the parts that required you to actually be seen with him) so you knew the genius that was him, how he somehow managed to turn the films into an allegory about the two of you. Delivered with flowery words, plot twists, and breathtaking cinematography.

“I'm the most eligible bachelor?” He mused with a faint smirk before pressing a soft chaste kiss at the junction of your neck and shoulder, pulling away slightly to allow your heart to return back to its normal rhythm. His carmine eyes full of mirth and arrogance at the title. You are sure he's seen those words and his name written in tandem to each other multiple times, to him it's just words written by some amateurs but hearing it from you turned them into ammunition he can use.

“The most annoying one too” a small huff leaves your lips making him let out a chuckle, the rumble of his chest felt against your back. You see your agent suppress an eyeroll, gathering the tabloids before making up some random excuse to allow the two of you some allotted alone time.

“I take it you saw the news?” His tone was lofty as if he was enthralled by the whole prospect of getting found out by the public. With his hands positioned on either side of your waist he turns you around so that he's able to scrutinize your facial expressions, holding you close to him as sways you both to an imaginary beat. The action softens your heart and you follow along with him.

A scoff. “I'd hardly call it news. Just the usual chatter amongst the tabloids” His eyes search your own sincerely as if trying to gouge out every individual thought you have conjured up in that complicated brain of yours.

“I wouldn't call it chatter if it's true.” He says with a small smug grin and your eyes roll back, both of you are smiling fondly at each other, swaying in each other's arms.

‘I wouldn't call it true if we're hiding it.’ the sentence that hung with the few pin pricks of silence.

“I'm sure it'll blow over soon” and he hums in acknowledgement at your statement, the small furrow of his brow an indication of his disapproval. He holds your hand in his bringing it up to press a kiss against your knuckles.

“I don't want it too” he mumbles against your skin, pressing another fleeting kiss. Your brow raised curiously at his words, carefully mulling it over before asking-

“You're implying-”

“We go public about it. About us.” and boy did his eyes light up at the idea, similar to a fuse sparking before escalating and eventually causing a dramatic explosion. You always have admired that look of his, a sort of crazed expression that made every fibre of your being tingle like a thousand firecrackers and soon you found himself sharing his excitement at the prospect.

He smiles, presses one last kiss against your knuckles and moves to twirl you around, a small laugh bubbles out of you as you adhere to the director's movements. You could see him grinning again before finally ending this silent waltz of his with a stolen kiss from you.

“We'll cause quite the scene” his tender lips pull away from yours with that telltale smirk.

“A scene? Why not a whole blockbuster while we're at it?”

Vinnie has become a household name in the online world, especially with the teen girls and gamers. However, what many people don't know is that behind his charismatic persona lies a soft-hearted and affectionate person who loves nothing more than spending time with you, his girlfriend.

One rainy night, you and Vinnie were cuddled up on the couch in the cozy apartment watching your all time favorite anime. As you snuggled closer together under a warm blanket, Vinnie turned his head to rest on yours and said, "I have an idea. How about we do a 24-hour stream together?"

You looked at him skeptically. "Are you sure? That's going to be a lot of work, plus its like 3 am right now."

Vinnie grinned mischievously. "Come on Y/n, it'll be fun! We can play games, chat with the fans, and just hang out all night long. Please baby."

You couldn't resist Vinnie's infectious enthusiasm and agreed to the idea. You and Hera watched as Vinnie quickly set up the equipment and started streaming.

"Hey guys I wanted to do a 24-hour stream at 3 am how smart of me right, but I'm gonna have help form my lovely girl to keep me up with you all!" Vinnies stated as he pulled you onto his lap.

As the hours ticked by, you and Vinnie played games together while chatting with the fans who had tuned in from all over the world. The rain continued to pour outside as you laughed and joked around like old friends with chat. The both of you kept taking turns plaing a few rounds with some of the fans from chat just to keep this interesting.

At one point during the stream, You leaned on head on Vinnie's shoulder with Hera in your arms as he wrapped his arm around your waist. "I'm so glad we're doing this," he whispered.

"Me too," you replied softly as you kissed his neck without squashing Hera.

You were about 12 hours into the stream

As the both of you played game after game. Exhausted but happy from how early you both decide to start streaming together, you both had ended up in the pull out bed from the couch in each other's arms.

But the stream was still going and you could tell that some of the fans we just rolling in or just lurking the stream.

"That was the most amazing sleep ever," you said with a yawn.

Vinnie smiled sleepily at you as he rubbed his eyes."Yeah, it was. But you know what's even better?"

"What?" You asked while yawning once again.

Vinnie leaned in and kissed you gently on the lips. "Spending time with you."

The cause you to blush and snuggle closer to him. "I love you," you whispered.

"I love you too," Vinnie replied as they took turns keeping the stream interesting while they each got ready and freshend to finish out the stream.

"So Vinnie they said we should cook dinner to end the stream, watcha think." You asked us you look up with the most purest doe eyes ever. "Yeah, yeah let's do it."

"Alright chat, we're done with our food and it's almost 3 am. I just wanna say thanks for watching and staying the whole stream, and also if we don't post for two days we're sleeping." You chuckled at his statement but nod in agreement.

"Yeah even though we took at 4 hour nap it didn't help much, but we will do another 24-hour stream in a few weeks and we shall be better prepared." You stated as you yawned once more for the 10th time

"Yes but for now everyone, everywhere, I hope you all have a good morning, day, or night, we shall be going to sleep now."

After you both said your final farewells you both crashed and you crashed hard. "Sleep well baby, you deserve it." You said in a low tone as you drift into a deep sleep.

I truly can’t pinpoint when/what exactly changed about Taylor’s fans/fandom but the last few years (especially the midnights release) has really soured things for me and it’s honestly quite disappointing as someone who genuinely enjoys her music and thinks she’s a great artists. how did we get to the point of not even being able to voice an opinion about taylor without being crucified online. or if heaven forbid you dislike a song/album or enjoy the work of one of her exes (john mayer, the 1975, calvin harris, etc)

i’ve always been very fascinated/intrigued by the relationship between celebrities and their fans. and i think it’s really interesting to look back and think about how taylor built her fanbase by making herself as palatable/relatable/approachable as possible. like secret sessions, t party/loft 89/rep room, swiftmas, lover diaries, etc — all of which allow for fan interaction — but also relies on people getting noticed which then in turn encourages people to be as vocal? extra? whatever it is. which then feeds into the "who is a bigger / better fan" competition. i'm speaking from personal experience here, as someone who has liked her since debut — but i think a lot of this is also rooted in how much of the world hated taylor swift prior to ... i want to say folklore, really — like it was deeply uncool to like taylor swift, to be a swiftie, etc. and because a lot of that early criticism was rooted so much in misogyny, i think fans felt the need to (over the years) defend her — and i was one of those! i still am, when i feel like people are criticizing her unfairly. but i think that lends into the "taylor swift has never done anything wrong, and she's perfect and if you disagree then you're against us and you're a fake fan" mentality.

and then i think there's an element of ... not necessarily a superiority complex, but a something among fans who have met taylor. it's a genius marketing move, intentions aside. taylor's music is very personal — and taylor's marketing, and persona is very personal, in a way that other artists prior to taylor weren't, i think. relatability sells. you can see it in the way that people talk about her, and her music. which is very different from the way people talk about other artists — and obviously there isn't anyone else out there with the amount of fame/popularity as her, but you don't see the same amount of fanfiction-writing personal-life-speculating-projection onto other artists' lyrics as you do with taylor. and i think that when someone is that vulnerable with their thoughts, it makes it easy for people to think that they know them personally.

and i think that — as much as i love taylor — it's important to talk about her white woman feminism mentality. and i think that also seeps into how her fanbase interacts with her. the ginny & georgia "joke" is what comes to mind the quickest, but there are countless instances of taylor's white woman feminism — and her benefiting from it. and obviously it was in her right to call out a misogynistic comment, especially one directed at her, but not saying anything when the actress got so much hate for a line she didn't write ... made me feel a bit 🥴. it's interesting to see who taylor will choose to align herself with, i guess is all i'm saying.

i've really taken a step back from taylor — not just because the fandom is exhausting ( the amount of things i've seen about her, joe, travis, etc. is ... something! it's all projection! we do not know anything about these people other than what they choose to show us! ) but also because of her saying that she wanted to be on the right side of history and then over and over again choosing to be increasingly passive and silent. she will call herself an ally but won’t even talk about queer rights; she won’t talk about the literal genocide that’s going on. gun control, abortion rights, anything at all. it's just "go vote" but even that is incredibly passive. but she will take time to remind us to buy new variants, and to stream her music, and that her ex sucks.

i think there was a huge shift that started with folklore/evermore, just given that there weren't a lot of albums being put out during that time, the overwhelming public reception to it — a lot of people who previously didn't care for (or disliked) taylor started to like her, to give her a second chance, etc. then we get into the rerecordings era/midnights/etc., which started off with fearless and nostalgia and then became "how quickly can i put out the next thing". and bailey @placeinthisworld posted this earlier, which i fully agree with. it's about the next award, the next milestone. it's just all quantity. it's overexposure.

and then we have the joe alwyn breakup and the public response to that was also ... interesting. like i saw people crying over it, or saying that love is a lie, removing things from their playlists, acting like they were the ones who had been broken up with. which is just ... odd, given that we aren't the ones in the relationship. and now there are all these comments about being a "joe defender". and then with taylor dating travis, it feels almost like some weird american pipe dream unfulfilled fantasy for so many people — the singer and the american football player. and obviously, i want her to be happy! i don't care who she dates! but i do think the public reception about her and travis has been ... incredibly odd, and i think that the way people talk about her and travis is just ... very ... off-putting and is very rooted in some weird ... stuff. "she finally gets to be small :(((((" is such a weird thing to say. it feels like there's even more projection and self-insert-y stuff with her dating travis, which is a level i did not think was possible from her fans (and more so, the general public).

i have not felt this ... detached and impassive about a taylor release, ever, and it just makes me incredibly sad because i love her music, and am excited about the work, just not excited about the public reception, the public autopsy of her and joe's relationship, or the noise, and i know that internet spaces (and spaces in general) are what we curate, but it's also difficult when she is everywhere.

And even if Levi doesn’t want to admit it, she totally has fun trying on a bunch of different dresses and styles!!! She still doesn’t buy much. Maybe one or two new skirts and a t-shirt, but she thinks about the other outfits she tried on until she gets home and orders a couple of them online in secret.

Simultaneously has gender euphoria and is oddly uncomfortable in her own skin. It’s kinda hard to explain- she would love having a fem!body and there are sooo many different cosplays she can try now. But at the same time it feels weird-

Down the rabbit hole of Oshi no Ko collabs

As someone constantly looking at Oshi no Ko merch I shouldn't buy, I came to learn about the sheer number of OnK collaborations. So I figured why not impart such useless knowledge here.

Note that these are merely some of them and yet there are so many that I had to split this into a whopping three posts. Here is part 2. The third is to come.

Most of the below collabs featured limited edition merch and special illustrations.

Cafe Collaborations

The Animate stores had OnK events at their cafes which involved themed food, decorations, and special merch. You can see a video of one Animate cafe event here.

Other OnK cafes took place at Sweets Paradise restaurant, The Guest cafe and diner, Tower Records cafe, the Atari cafe inside Ikebukuro Parco (Parco is a chain of department stores), and cafes in Tokyo and Osaka held the Exceptional Autumn event (the name of course is taken from "lies are an exceptional form of love"). This is by no means an exhaustive list.

Brands

The funniest brand that has teamed up with OnK has to be Panasonic's personal "Solota" dishwasher. There are a few commercials including this one where Ai mentions that there are three people in her household and then has to play it off. There was also a 2 hour low fi style video of Ai sitting on her couch reading with the dishwasher in the background. Unfortunately, I can't find it which sucks because it was pretty cool [edit: updating this to say that you can download it here. Thanks for that!] There's also a Hikakin Premium cup noodle commercial.

Other tie-ins include Onkyo earbuds, Kaneyo brand baking soda with Kana of course, Sanrio, candy, food and drink brands like Meiji and Lotte chocolate, 7-11, Pizza Hut, Sushiro restaurant (the Mother's Day promo images are so cute it nearly killed me), TIRTIR cosmetics, and hair care brand Je L'aime.

It would be remiss of me not to highlight Tamanoi's Sushi no Ko seasoning powder which was advertised in the manga (why? just how much did they pay them?) during an important pep talk from Kana to Aqua no less.

Pop Up Events

There have been a bunch of other pop ups where they sold limited edition merchandise based on illustrations created for those events. I'm especially fond of Ai in the "cheer squad" design from Animate. It's the cutest damn thing. Most of the pop ups mentioned below also had exhibits.

One took place at Base Yard Tokyo, a store that sells clothes and anime/manga goods. This was at the Harajuku store and took inspiration from Harajuku fashion. Ai's hair bow is stupidly enormous. I love it so much.

The store Akihabara Gamers sold merch based on illustrations with a flower theme featuring ridiculous hats for Aqua, Kana, and Akane.

Another event was at the Atre Akihabara mall. The building was decorated with murals including an Ai mural matching the one in the anime where fans left flowers after she died. This article has images.

Tokyo Records and Red Tokyo Tower also had events. Red Tokyo Tower is a VR/AR related theme park next to Tokyo Tower. Here is a video.

Clothes

Recently the Japanese online shopping site Yumetenbo put out a line of dresses under the name "Black Devil Stars." This is the website.

I think they're really cute and Ai's devil design is one of my favorite collab designs. I'm sad that Aqua's art did not feature him in his dress but the suit is still cool. Bic Camera stores are also selling items like stands, keychains, cards, and an Ai plushie based on the same designs.

In terms of more regular clothing, there of course a ton of Oshi no Ko items, but the clothing lines I know of are from Uniqlo and Shimamura. The photo below is Rumi Okubo, Mem's VA, wearing a Shimamura sweater and uh... is that a neck warmer? Is that related? I have no clue.

There's also a fashion show called Tokyo Girls Collection and this year they had an event called Idol Runway Collection pairing fashion with idols. The official YT channel put out a Mem vlog style video of it. It doesn't look like the models wore the outfits featured in the illustration. It's a real missed opportunity to show off Aqua's baggy suit.

I was always present in his dreams. Either he noticed me somewhere in the background, or the dream revolved around me. I was just always there, especially during rough times.

The dreams never exaggerated my virtues or vices (Don’t want to set up a pedestal to fall from).

There’s always something missing in the dreams that makes him feel that he’s only experiencing a shadow of who I actually am. Meeting me and spending time with me in person fixes this issue; my voice finally comes through to him clearly, he gets to see my quirks and habits, things I do when I think nobody is looking. How I can be clumsy and forgetful and I constantly bump into things, yet also pay attention to details, etc. Basically, I become reality, not just the person of his dreams.

I appear to age throughout the years with him, but I stop at the age I’ll be when I meet him.

The dreams brought him comfort and he started to get eager to see my face in them. He had warm, intimate dreams, fun dreams, comforting dreams, erotic, etc.

In realities where I sang in an anonymous college band with a small fanbase - Felix, Remus’ younger brother who is my age, heard a song from my band in passing online and showed it to Remus. While Felix lost interest, Remus became our most loyal fan. We didn’t show our names or faces, but he fell in love with the lyrics we wrote and my voice brought him warmth/comfort/ease/etc.

He learned to draw to draw my face. This is how Felix, Cyrus, and Alaina know I’m from his dreams too. (They kinda thought he was crazy. May just about lose their minds when he presents me to them)

When he’d go on dates or sleep around, he found himself looking for me within the people he went out with.

Status: Dear, bewildered, and awkward

Grian leaves a very special cloak hanging in the closet of Lounge 3LF specifically for full moon nights. It's black and heavy. Not at all as flamboyant as he'd like, and decorations would certainly make it more fun. The biggest thing that mars the inky blackness is the giant red symbol on the back: a circle with a slash down the center. More red marks, spaced a few centimeters apart, wrap the hems of his sleeves. He's got one on each shoulder too, and it's really not flattering…

… but the stifling, peculiar nature of it is really the whole point. It's a full moon tonight, you know.

Grian wraps it around his shoulders and clicks the silver clasp at the front. The thick cloak is padded (on the off chance anyone nips him with teeth or claws). It's not armor, but he can't use his wings like this. It'd be a massive liability in a fight, but it dulls the color and rustle of his feathers, and it's excellent at diverting the eye of anyone who's out tonight seeking visual or auditory courting cues.

TwoMuchGrian's still fussing with his feathers, scowling in the mirror. Pearl and Jimmy don their black and red cloaks in turn. Martyn, for the first time Grian can remember, struts from the lobby without one. Grian tries not to notice anybody else. He flips up the hood, smothering his hair. He pauses for Two so they can leave together. While waiting, he catches a glimpse of himself in the mirror and almost snorts.

Nah, certainly not flattering… but totally effective. I wouldn't flirt with me either tonight.

The lanterns and copper bulbs that glow inside the multiplayer hub stay fluorescently bright all night long. Defining "night" is difficult in the underground, especially with time zones from around the world all dumped in one small perimeter. The Between dimension keeps chugging along anyway.

As Grian leaves the multiplayer zone, stepping out into the bedrock streets, the clock tower chimes to signal 12k ticks. Out there, above ground, the world's officially bathed in pink and orange sunset lighting. So they say, anyway. Hmm… Grian tips back his head, gripping the hood in both hands. He pulls the fabric downward so it digs against his pores.

He breathes.

New Star Station's bustling tonight. The city population ebbs and flows with account activity at the best (and worst) of times, but for now, chattering voices ripple through the air. Happy, friendly people bounce along wherever they want to go.

Pearl brushes past him then, sending one last I'm sorry grimace with her mouth and eyes. Grian nods back to indicate All good. Each moon phase stretches out for four days in Between, and tonight's the second one in the batch. The pull against his fluffing scarlet feathers is much, much stronger now than it was on Monday. It prickles over every shaft and barb.

Since neither he nor Pearl care for random hook-ups, they usually go out for food together or catch a movie on nights like tonight. It depends what's going on with Hermitcraft. Really, Grian doesn't make a habit of jumping online for projects immediately after an exhausting Life series recording session like this one. He usually gets Pearl's second full moon night- Gem and Impulse hang out with her on the third.

But tonight, Pearl has a refugee at her place… and not exactly someone he's thrilled to go looking for. His last encounter with EthoCam (Sorry… Rhetoric) left a less than pleasant aftertaste behind. At that thought, Grian stares down the dimly lit street, letting his eyes fall halfway shut.

I need to warn SnifferMyFeet not to go near him…

Maybe another time. Maybe when it isn't the full moon. Vex posture and flaunt themselves like mad this time of the month. Sniff might bite, and that's really not something he's in the mood for. There's still server clean-up to do on Hermitcraft. He's been meaning to add a nicer bridge design to the dolphin path. Maybe he'll send Scar a whisper in a bit.

He rocks forward, setting a brisk pace down the street. Blaze powder and slime balls are already mixing into magma cream on the bedrock. Two drifts after him without touching the ground. As much faith as Grian likes to put in the 'Not on the market tonight' cloak designs, it's an extra blanket of reassurance (like a knock to the head) knowing his twin's there to watch his back. Two might split off for some flirting later on, but it's nice of him to walk him home.

His comm buzzes, rattling up his arm like a shockwave. Grian looks down.

TwoMuchGrian: are we going to bigb's?

"… No, not tonight. Just back to our place."

Cheery people flit around on feet and wings. Some dress in 'No' cloaks and chat anyway, just excited to catch up while they have the chance. Some hook their arms around those of friends or acquaintances they've got their eye on for the evening. Strangers, maybe (some of them). No love hearts flicker in the cracks and crevices, but the warm eyes and friendly laughs say just as much.

It's an early courting night. It's posture. It's a show. Expect a few fights to break out tomorrow morning as people settle in and get more cherry-choosey, fussing over the partners they want to keep for the next 100 days. The block turns next Wednesday or Thursday. Scar won't even hunt until a couple nights into the full moon. He says souls taste better when they're satisfied on their post-loving time high, and they put up less of a fight.

Loving time. Sure.

So… What's everybody doing if these were never real hook-ups to begin with? No kisses. No nothing. His digital, programmed peers have no need nor desire to reproduce. All these empty courtship tugs they feel beneath the full moon just lead to… nothing.

this bizarre take pops up around online pretty often whenever new season of the boys drops. it’s not just the boys, it’s also applicable to breaking bad, fight club, other things. “there are SO MANY people who think the VILLAIN of this show is actually meant to be the HERO 😱😱😱”

and to be honest, I don’t buy it. maybe there are a handful of people who do, but I see more people complaining about this than I do engaging in the behavior being complained about. it sounds like a rumor. or seeing irony posting on a fan circlejerk subforum that’s meant to mock people who say this and thinking to themselves, case closed everyone.

with breaking bad, it makes a little bit more sense to me why this conclusion would be drawn. anna gunn did get a lot of really nasty backlash for her portrayal of skyler. so it follows from that how someone could assume that they saw her character as a villain that they didn’t like. but with the boys, it’s like… how? homelander eye-lasers a plan in half in, like, the second episode. for no reason. nobody without a severe vendetta against aviation and airline passengers is going to see this and think, “that’s the role model I didn’t know I wanted”.

and if it’s so prevalent, you should be able to provide me with at least one screenshot that isn’t from r/okbuddyfresca. but no one ever does. it’s almost as if this is making up a guy and getting mad at him.

as for complaining about the trump stuff, bear in mind that we’ve had to endure nearly a decade of trump being in the headlines constantly. it gets exhausting after awhile. not to mention, the “homelander is trump” thing came at the expense of a lot of the tension built up around him from the first season.

think of how this show is initially set up. vought is this universe’s AOL-Time-Warner-Pepsico-Viacom-Halliburton-Skynet-Toyota-Trader-Joe's, that’s trying to justify getting defense contracts from the us military. homelander ships out compound v to terror cells around the world to justify this as a necessity. the supes enjoy a lot of public approval, in spite of how reckless and dangerous they are. it’s set up as a military industrial complex critique. and it’s all thrown out in service of more of the same covfefe commander in cheeto laziness. you threw out a perfectly good allegory! you don’t need a maga hat to find this irritating.

Finally, the last day of the con! The past three days were really fun and I had a great time. Exhausted af though from all the walking and the heat though. I ended up spending a bit more that I originally planned for, but there were so many great pieces of art work and merch so I don’t have any regrets over it.

There must have been so many LADS players in attendance because most of the fan made merchandise I saw were completely sold out by day 3. Literally all of Zayne and Rafayel’s merch were sold out. Xavier was in low stock and there were only a handful of artists who had stuff for Sylus (those were always sold out hahaha).

I opted not to buy single items if the other guys were sold out. Idk if that’s strange. I figured I might just wait for the artist to restock after the con to purchase a complete set online. I love them all equally so I would want them to all come home together :c

Ong, my wallet is probably thanking me for exercising some restraint from all these impulsive purchases.

My take on the Melanie allegations

Melanie is my favourite musician and has been for almost a year now. I know I'm very late to the fandom because she's been making music for over a decade. I've been saving up and preparing to buy her merch, which is SO DAMN EXPENSIVE. However, lately there's been a bigger issue than just the money.

Another musician called Timothy Heller, who I believe is her "ex-best friend", has accused Melanie multiple times of sexual abuse. She's posted on her tiktok page talking about how speaking up about it ruined her life because a lot of Melanie's fans completely hammered her, bullied her, created hate pages for her because they believed she was lying for attention or trying to ruin Mel's life, etc.

I've watched both of Timothy's videos and she sounds really upset and desperate as she talks about how she and Melanie did something together that Timothy didn't want to do, or something like that? I don't know the details of how everything went down, but there have been pictures leaked that are either related to Timothy's past or the allegations specifically.

Timothy first accused Mel in 2017 but I think nothing happened as a result because somehow she didn't get much attention for it. Either people didn't believe her or they just didn't care. She spoke up about it again somewhere around the 2020s.

Sorry, I need to correct myself. She actually DID get a lot of attention in 2017. In fact, it was so bad for her that she got "run-off the internet", according to herself. I don't know what she meant by this but I ASSUME (correct me if I'm wrong) that it means she got bullied so bad that she either quit or she just got cancelled??

Timothy, in her video, said that Melanie admitted that they did something together but also said that Timothy "didn't say no". Timothy denied this and said that she DID say no.

Timothy said that 2015 is when it happened but she didn't remember the exact date. In an interview she revealed a photo she took the day after it happened and discovered the date the abuse happened through that method. After all this was revealed online, Melanie's fans looked at all of Melanie's posts on that very date. The conclusion of this was that Timothy and Melanie were in different states on that date. Some believed this meant Timothy was a liar. However Timothy argued that for some reason the photo appeared multiple times in her camera roll (she could not explain why). My comment on this is that this technically means Timothy STILL cannot be sure what date the occurance was because this photo appeared multiple times.

This understandably drove Timothy insane and made her really angry because Melanie had ALREADY admitted that they had done something together but as soon as her fans revealed they were in different states at this UNCONFIRMED date, Melanie thanked them for revealing that Timothy's statements were false. In my opinion, there is definitely something off about this. On top of that, some of Timothy's accounts/details have been either hacked or leaked which has really scared her and affected her mental health (made her low self-esteem even lower). Eventually Timothy gave up on her music career, deactivated all her public accounts and lived in private for many years. In her first video, she expresses how distraught she is that she has been unable to live the life that she's dreamed of just because of this. Timothy's lost all hope and confidence with herself and her entire life. I honestly feel so bad for her. She also explains that some "photoshopped" (according to her) images revealed that she "admitted to lying", "accused other celebrities" of the same thing, etc. She said that these are all false and were made to make her look bad. Timothy says that she is exhausted and embarassed from begging people to believe her and begging people to care.

I wanted to make a paragraph about Melanie's side of the story but I don't think Melanie has really done a proper explanation or clearup on what happened herself. I feel like Melanie's either tried to avoid the topic, pretend it didn't happen, forget it, move on, etc. In my opinion, this was a very dumb move. If I were to get accused of something as serious as that, I would speak up about it immediately, whether I'm a celebrity or not.

She has allowed her fans to treat Timothy in such a horrible way, literally ruining her life. I understand that Timothy's allegations have caused trouble for Melanie too but what I don't understand is why would Timothy CONTINUE to defend her point knowing she's going to get a ton of hate and DEATH THREATS when she could easily just "admit" she's lying and allow the world to move on and leave her alone. She's chosen the harder option, clearly because she's probably not lying and has no choice but to pick the more difficult route, and continue to accuse Melanie until she gets her justice.

Admitting that she and Timothy did something together but then thanking her fans for proving they did nothing together makes absolutely no sense, isn't logical and doesn't connect any dots together for me.

Many people have accused Melanie of taking advantage of her talent, her fandom, her power, etc. Honestly, if these allegations are true, I won't be surprised. There are a lot of disagreements and arguments over this matter but a point that has stood out to me personally is that Melanie probably does not care about her fans, and only cares about making money.

From what I know, Melanie probably doesn't want to let her guard down or reveal/admit to anything because not only would she lose her power, reputation, wealth, etc. she would lose basically EVERYTHING she has worked for. She wouldn't want to speak out because her method of staying quiet is working in her favour. In my opinion, she is sitting back, relaxing, and allowing her fans to do her dirty work. Destroying/silencing/bringing Timothy Heller down, while allowing herself to continue to thrive and make money.

Of course, I don't know much about Melanie's side of the story so I don't want to say too much. This is mainly opinion-based and me just saying what I think based on what I know.

I'm trying to make this make sense. This has been very hard to process because Melanie is my favourite singer and was one of my favourite people in the world. I WANT to believe the allegations are false, but honestly I'm just not convinced sorry guys. I want to say I will always love her music, but not her as a person since I don't support the actions she's been accused of and NO ONE should. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE FOR R*PE. I don't even know if I should consider myself a Melanie "fan" anymore.

I also don't want to assume the allegations are false because I am extremely worried about Timothy.

I'm technically a fan, but I don't support these actions at all. I want to say I'm against what I'm against but I still admire her talent and the inspiration she's brought to the world. Honestly, the Melanie fandom has been SO TOXIC when it comes to the Timothy Heller situation. So many of them are reacting in such wrong, damaging ways.

Sending either of them hate won't do any good. It'll either put them through pain/self-hatred or make them hate each other even more. This will put more pressure under the situation and eventually everyone will have a mental breakdown at this rate. This is a time where we need to be open-minded, understanding and spread as much love as possible. There is no confirmed proof that Melanie did it, and there is no confirmed proof that Timothy is lying. So until we have something INDENIABLE, we need to stay calm and neutral about this, while sending support to the correct places (Melanie's music career and Timothy's safety/mental health).

I also feel like we need to try and be a bit more smart and considerate about this. Don't support Melanie 100% just because you like her music. You know her songs, you know her style, you know her aesthetic, but you DON'T. KNOW. HER. AS. A. PERSON. You can't assume Mel is innocent just because you like her. Yes, you like her, but you don't KNOW her. The same goes for Timothy as well. Don't bash Melanie just because you're very confident that Timothy is telling the truth. If Timothy is somehow lying, then we've basically been bashing, upsetting and damaging Mel for no reason (while she's already coping with these statements). If Timothy is telling the truth, do you think bashing Mel is going to magically erase something she did in the past or make her feel remorse for what she did? Probably not. You're just going to make her hate Timothy even more if that's the kind of person she is. We need to think about the evidence rather than JUST what we think of these people.

In general, I feel like the Melanie fandom is SUPER TOXIC. There are so many fake Melanie fans it's crazy. And by a fake fan I don't mean someone who doesn't know all her songs. I mean someone who claims to be a fan but then casually bodyshames Melanie, insults her outfits, calls her new album cringe/weird, etc. I get that people can have their own opinions, dislike particular outfits, etc. but bodyshaming is where I cross the line. There is no excuse for bodyshaming. I know this is besides the main topic of this post but I just want to point out that the Mel fandom is trash in more cases than just Timothy Heller. This fandom has done fucked up things multiple times. Bodyshaming Mel is so wrong and unnecessary. We all know damn well there is nothing wrong with her body. She doesn't need to change it. I don't want to associate myself with these kinds of people. While I could stand up against these people, for this particular case I would like to just consider myself NOT part of the fandom. At this point, I'm wondering if buying her merch is a bad idea because I don't want to support this kind of thing.

Before I end this I want to add that a lot of people who are particularly fans of Melanie are toxic and a lot of the things they do are very weird and questionable. I don't care how much you like Mel. There is no excuse for shaming people only because they don't know every song, like/prefer different albums/EPs to you, dress a certain way, have different opinions to you, different merch to you, etc. Finally, there is DEFINITELY no excuse for sending Timothy literal death threats. It's unjustifiable to send death threats to ANYONE.

By the way, I recently got in the mood for Valentine's Day and bought my favourite Lindt chocolate 😊 Lindt is probably most well-know for their Lindor round chocolate! ! The first time I saw them was when I went to New York! ! I received this cute round candy-like thing at the entrance of the store, and when I ate it, it was so delicious...😆 Up until that point I hadn't been a huge fan of sweets but Lindt changed my mind! (I like the milk and white chocolate one with chocolate chips in it. The salted caramel one is delicious too! Also, the newly released matcha tea one! LOL) And these thin bars of chocolate are absolutely delicious too😳💕 I will sometimes have a glass of wine and some dried fruits with it, it's like I am in a dreamland😳💕 Of course it also goes well with coffee ♡ By the way, I always keep some bite-sized chocolates on hand for my morning coffee time. Meiji's matcha and strawberry chocolates are delicious (^^) I somehow ended up buying Kiss Chocolate when I went shopping a while back *laughs*. I like white chocolate and chocolate chips (^^)

There is a chocolate other than Lindt that I love, I received it from a fan a long time ago and fell in love with it, so much so that I ordered it myself the following year! But...I can't remember the name anymore😂😂 I am always looking through the department store's Valentine's Day special online store and hope I can recall what the packaging looked like! *laughs* I'm pretty sure it might have been a German chocolate, or maybe not...?🤔
