People should stop make Tommy seems like the only serious relationships Buck had or deny that women he dated were important and taught him a lot. Or forget their importance and make it seems like Buck was complete virgin and a baby in everything with Tommy and Tommy taught him (btw it's YOUR head canon Tommy is way more experienced in everything, but we don't know, we don't even know how many men he dated, so it's your HEAD CANON)
We love Tommy, but stop make it seems like he's the one and only and you're pretty much being misogynistic and biphobic by denying any importance of Taylor, Abby, Aly and Natalia in his romantic and sexual life
Buck is BISEXUAL not because he loves men, but because he loves DIFFERENT GENDERS
P.s. so talking about exact situation that brought it, Buck can be good at sex esp basics bc he had several long relationships, esp with Taylor (longer than with Tommy) and not even because of his slut era)

Y'all, fun and jokes aside, I hope you know that this is way bigger than "beef".
Those allegations against Drake are fucking serious and downright scary.
Apart from all the subtle hints Aubrey has been dropping all over the place over the entirety of his career, Kendrick just isn't the type of artist who'd baselessly throw such dangerous accusations around for the sake of a diss.
And I also hope you know that Meet the Grahams wasn't only about Drake. This is probably way more common in the industry than we like to think.

Travis Martinez: Masculinity and Control in Yellowjackets
Tumblr media
sorry for the pretentious title. i need to talk about travis for a second. i have a consistent mythos in my head about who he is as a character that i forget people don't have. yes i am embarrassed. incredibly long meta under the cut.
First and foremost, I think it is so important to remember that this guy is a LOSER. He's never been to a school dance. He got made fun of and given a cruel nickname in the 7th grade that has stuck with him all throughout high school. He hates his dad, or at least has complex feelings about him. He's never had sex. He is so insecure that it is laughable.
We can only assume that Travis's dad shaped some of his perceptions of what it means to be a man. In the pilot, we have Coach Martinez honestly, if not cruelly, tell Jackie her worth is in her influence and that she is not particularly skilled at soccer. Coach Martinez's office has several pictures of his family, yet seems distant from his wife and Travis when they leave for nationals. We can see Travis's complex relationship with masculinity (misogyny with Nat's perceived sexual history, stoicism, and aggression to mask emotional distress), and can only assume that a stoic, critical, and distant father is one of the reasons for this. But we could also discuss 90s masculinity and cultural influence as well.
Travis was not (obviously written to be) athletically skilled as a kid, and is not mentioned to be on a sports team. He had a spinal fusion at 13, presumably due to some chronic health issue like scoliosis. His father invests time into the Yellowjackets team, and we see Ben describe them in flashbacks as monsters, so clearly there is some sort of reverence Coach Martinez has for ruthlessness and success. In the original script of episode 4 (I think), we see Travis described as a "sensitive kid trying hard not to be" (or something along those lines), and I can certainly see resentment building between Travis and the Yellowjackets as they represent everything his dad wanted him to be-- athletically skilled, successful, and cut throat. He is resistant to receiving help, outright lashes out in order to maintain this fragile identity as masculine and independent.
He has an interesting sibling relationship with Javi where he is simultaneously trying to force his own thoughts of their father onto him ("Dad was a dick") and protect him from the reality/brutality of their situation (does not tell Javi he dug up the body for the ring). Coach Martinez gives Javi gum for the flight, a gesture of care, and seemingly does not extend the same to Travis. We see Javi as innocent, naive, and artistic. He is presumably unaware of the marital problems in their family, while Travis is. Where Travis resents the Yellowjackets for the attention they receive from his father, he resents Javi because he is supported emotionally and allowed to be soft.
He values honesty, and the audience can see this in seasons one and two– Nat obscuring her relationship with Bobby Farleigh is the initial reason why they break up in 1x7, Nat planting Javi’s shorts is similarly a big point of contention. He is quick to project his own insecurities onto other people, namely Nat-- any skill or sexual experience she has is an attack on his worth as a man. He consistently sabotages his relationship with her by lashing out, not because Nat is doing anything wrong, but because he is afraid of being perceived as not good enough.
Travis’s arc throughout the show is interesting, especially because the audience sees Travis in season one obsessed with control of his own image, honesty, and power. By season two, he is willing to give in to spirituality-- in winter, he opens up to Lottie's "Wiccan bullshit", seeing ritual and belief as rejecting his own ego in a productive way. I have seen a good amount of people talk about how Travis's passivity in the second and third season is his way of protecting himself from the rest of the team, especially following his assault and almost murder in 1x9, but I think there is a little more nuance than just this. There is still an element of Travis seeking control within the routine of Lottie's spirituality. He cannot find Javi following the events of doomcoming, cannot find food in the winter months, cannot protect Shauna from the risk of childbirth, so he submits himself to drinking the tea Lottie prepares, praying, and ritual self harm.
Following Javi's death, we see Travis completely submit. He consumes his brother’s body not only to survive, but also to spiritually keep Javi with him. He eats Javi’s heart as a display of devotion, reverence, and attachment. His acceptance of Nat’s leadership comes from similar motivations, and this marks his almost complete relinquishment of autonomy within the group.
By season three, he is no longer hunting. He is completely detached from the team, past Lottie, Akilah, and the wilderness itself. He spends his time tripping on shrooms to “listen” when Lottie no longer can. It makes a lot of sense why fan opinion has gotten more positive– Travis this season is so passive that he becomes pathetic, both to the audience and the characters. Van, Tai, and Lottie each try to protect him, Akilah provides him with comfort. The rest of the group does not punish Travis for his lack of contribution as they did Jackie– they largely ignore him. And once his two main acts of autonomy (escaping with Kodiak, killing Lottie) fail, there is nothing left. He does not participate in the final hunt of Mari, and the group allows him to get drunk or high with no consequence. It is only when Travis is in Shauna's way that she cares about his lack of participation. The writers have officially connected the proud, aggressive season one Travis to what we know of him in the adult timeline– an isolated addict. He dies doing exactly what he did in the woods: trying to submit himself to meaning, to something bigger than himself, and dying for it.

(I'm about to write an essay, please feel free to ignore it)
Just binged your 'humans are extinct' TWST AU and. Wow. Where do I start? I've never seen something like this so fleshed out on this site? I've never seen such a long, serious series that treats all the characters with proper respect and stays pretty faithful to their canon personality and actions/reactions given what's been changed? I've never read long series on this site with the whole cast that has pretty much been fair with 'screen time' for each individual member? I've rarely seen something well though out and interconnecting with some seemingly trivial tidbits that turn into important details later on?
I absolutely adore what you wrote. I'm thankful you deigned to write down and share the story running through your brain for others to enjoy. The characters feel real and thee dimensional. The narrative is cohesive. The new additions don't feel out of place. The works.
Starting off with our MC. Poor girl! She's doing a lot better than I would have if I was in her place. Having to juggle almost 30 boys vying for her hand, plus a new adoptive child, plus poachers, PLUS being in an entirely new world where there's magic and she's the only human left with meltdowns happening almost every week and still staying (at least partially) sane and on goal? She has my respect. I love how she's not "a strong woman who don't need no man," nor is she "the poor damsel in distress who can't do anything on her own." She's in a bad situation: basically a sitting duck without the protection of the boys at NRC, and yeah, near the beginning, she kind of got dragged around like a doll. That makes sense though, and as she started getting familiar with the new world and her new guardians, she also started setting boundaries and enforcing them.
She won't let the boys walk all over her, but she's also generally respectful, kind, and pleasant to them as well. She's under no illusions and knows that even though they've got an unhealthy attachment to her, she still needs them to keep her safe. Beyond that though, even before she started absorbing blot and seeing memories, she was sensitive and able to see beyond their surface level flaws. I don't think she ever really thought Leona was a bad guy, even noting the dissonance between his threatening words and (sad? Resigned?) expression when first meeting him. She was willing to feed Ruggie regularly after finding out he was basically starving. She let Cater stay at Ramshackle and fought for him to get him back into the dorms at Heartslabyul even though she was still (rightfully) furious at him for basically putting her in potential danger for the rest of her stay in Twisted Wonderland because she felt his punishment was too severe given his crime.
That being said she also isn't one of those protagonists who forgive and forget all wrongs which is appreciated. She doesn't forgive murder attempts with a "Tee-hee it's alright anyone can change!" mentality. She also doesn't care much about those outside NRC if they don't first give her a reason to care about them. It makes her feel human.
I appreciate the way you wrote the conflicts as well. Most individuals here aren't one dimensional villains. They have reasons for doing what they do besides being a mustache twirling caricature written just to make MC suffer. Does it justify their actions? Ha! No. MC realizes this too, which I appreciate. If the current problem-child is a student, MC is good at helping them fix/find the root of their problem while still making sure they know their actions were out of line.
Moving on to the boys and the staff. Love them and their characterization. They're not perfect. They make mistakes. They're trying to get better. Character arcs and evolution. We love to see it. I mean this in the best way possible, but sometimes I read what a boy says or is about to do and just go "Bro .... Seriously?!" It's totally in line with their normal characterization, and the addictiveness of the human helps explain why they're going to certain extremes, but man, it's like watching a train wreck in slow motion.
I like how you basically inverted the typical "who's safest to be around" scale due to the yandere instincts. Those who were already dangerous know how to keep those dark tendencies in check while those who weren't are now getting hit full force and don't know how to cope. It changes up the typical day to day cast so other characters get more of a chance to shine than the typical ones.
I feel like most boys so far have gotten a fair amount of time in the spotlight. The ones we've heard the least from are the Octavinelle and Scarabia boys as well as Epel. It makes sense for the Octavinelle and Scarabia boys since they haven't really had their mini arcs yet (and we've seen some of the Octa boys in action when it came to the Spelldrive incident + The first poachers incident). Epel also makes sense because Vil had his little episode outside of Pomefiore guarding hours ... But I hope to see him a little more in the future. No rush though!
I already have the adoption papers ready for Crewel and Trein. Vargas and Sam have cool uncle/older brother privilege. Crowley.... Exists.... Glad to see he's actually trying though. Papa Hades is a cool addition. He seems like a guy we could call at four in the morning to vent about our worries to without fear of judgement or our words reaching unintended ears. Mr. Bounty hunter is cool too, but I'm still on the fence about making him official family.
Malleus. I have so many thoughts about Malleus. Not many of them are nice. I like how you characterized him and I think it makes sense. Honestly his behavior seems at least somewhat in line with normal Malleus.... Just cranked up to eleven. That being said, I am about ready to smack him upside the head. I understand where he's coming from, I really do! But he's going about it wrong and his possessive behavior is really making me not like him. I'm glad he at least cares enough about MC that he's not going to marry/mate with her against her will, but also even what we've negotiated with him isn't enough. I personally would be so annoyed that we're basically his emotional support human. Like, Buddy. I don't want to be in close contact with you 24/7 or have to make deals to see you every other day so you don't get huffy and cause a storm. Please. Also the whole, "I'm gonna extend your life to match mine without telling you so we can be together forever" business? Yeah no, huge breach of trust. If I didn't know he'd likely overblot and kill me in a crime of passion, I'd ban him from seeing me for a year for that.
The Undying Ursas! There's still quite a bit we don't know about them, but they feel like an overarching plot detail that ties the story together nicely that's starting to get more notice that we're starting to settle into this world. Perhaps they'll have a key to help us get home?
Grim. I think your Grim is the least annoying version I've seen this far. Childish? Yes. But reading about him here doesn't make me want to bash my head into a wall and I've actually grown somewhat attached to the furball. I appreciate the bond MC has with him, and it's honestly quite sweet watching the two interact.
Small-ish head canon: I've noticed that Rielle got turned from an RSA student into Ariel just being a dude and I had an idea regarding him. What if Rielle was still an RSA student, but the twin/cousin to our prince Mahi-Mahi (hopefully soon to be sashimi) Erikir. He's interested in archeology/maritime and very introverted. He's been spoiled sweet (like Charlotte La Bouff from the Princess and the Frog) and is happy to please. Unlike Floyd and Jade who present outwardly as good twin and evil twin (secretly they're both 'evil') these two both present as 'good twins' but it's only true for Rielle. Outwardly, the two are nice to each other, but Eirkir secretly thinks Rielle is a pushover and weak minded. Erikir kept him away from the human by presenting the opportunity to guard the human as a burden, and offering to put in a word to let Rielle go out on a field trip to an excavation site during the Spelldrive tournament because Rielle isn't really that much of a sports guy. Maybe the two look alike, or maybe Rielle looks more like Prince Erik in a bit of dramatic irony. Regardless, there is a family resemblance in the way that those not close to them may get the two mixed up... It would be rather unfortunate if the human saw him and mistook him for Erikir.
Personalizing the story: It would be over so quick for me probably. I'd see the polite, (seemingly) mild-mannered Moray with his mushrooms on day two and fall head over heels. I'm unfortunately bad at hiding things and blunt as can be, so Malleus would probably go bonkers and kill me (and him) in a crime of passion. I don't think that a week one Malleus would be okay with, "I want to date this guy and probably eventually marry him though I'm fine with being your possession/family or whatever. Also I'm not interested in dating/marrying anyone else." I feel as though if you managed to survive to the end of the story, you'd get a fairytale ending... The issue is getting there.
Overall: Amazing. Love your work. Keep it up (no rush though). I will feast on whatever you write regarding this AU like Ruggie. Compliments to the Chef.
Tumblr media
Genuinely, though, I DEEPLY appreciate the essay level of praise, it does mean a lot to me. I have quite the intense Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, so praise makes my nervous little heart full and happy. I am glad you are enjoying it, and I hope I don't disappoint!
On the topic of Rielle, when I first started writing the HAE AU, the only RSA students I knew of were Neige, Neige's seven Fae friends, Ambrose, and Che'nya. I made Erikír before I knew Rielle was a thing. But I like that idea of Rielle being Erikír's twin (the actual good twin). I already have Erikír's punishment planned out, but I can absolutely work in Rielle being genuinely good when the story eventually gets to Erikír's trial.

And that's the exact same reason Mike told El she was pretty when she dressed feminine? Or he kissed her in the Snowball when he was feminine? Or told her he loved her new style? Make it make sense 😂
Actually, I'm even glad that I was asked such a question, because I wanted to continue my thought from the last post. Now I will tell you why I think that Mike is not attracted to girls and that his feelings for El cannot be considered romantic.
Important: you can consider Mike whoever you want, bisexual, asexual, gay, even straight. but I think that he is gay, because there is a huge amount of evidence for this, and if his feelings for Will are confirmed, then it will be much more logical to say that he is gay.
Let's start with the first season, where the arc of the romantic relationship between Mike and El begins:
I think it's obvious that El looks like a boy at that point, it's mentioned several times in the series, perhaps this was the reason why it was easier for Mike to treat her kinder than Dustin and Lucas did. Another reason for this occasional kindness on Mike's part is that El helped Mike find Will. Mike's main goal, after all, was to find Will, and that's why he needed El. He didn't treat her like a cute girl he fell in love with at first sight, he treated her exactly as a weapon or their key in finding Will (as rude and unfair as it may sound to El, but nevertheless, these are Mike's words)
Tumblr media
Why Mike kissed El, or asked her to dance, or called her pretty, is hard to understand unless you've been in his situation. And by situation, I mean social pressure and expectations, and how they don't match your internal identity.
Let me explain: when you're a little boy who doesn't yet fully understand that he's gay, who lives in a small conservative town in the 80s, in a nuclear family with a father who makes homophobic jokes at your expense, you're going to try to be more normal. You're going to model your parents' relationship, you're going to model your friends who are openly attracted to the opposite sex, you're going to model your behavior on stereotypically masculine men on TV, etc. And you're going to end up telling yourself that you HAVE to like girls, because otherwise you're "wrong."
If it weren't for Lucas, who with his childish stereotypical thinking noticed Mike's affection for El, or if it weren't for Nancy, who for the first time saw her brother with a girl, asked if he liked her, then Mike would not have decided on a romantic relationship with El. When Lucas comically depicts Mike kneeling in front of El to show him that Mike is supposedly in love with El, Mike at first does not even understand what Lucas means. The final point in the question "Was Mike in love with El in the first season" is put by the words of Finn Wolfhard, when asked about Mileven relationship, he said that at the time of their meeting, Mike did not even have a thought about love in his head.
Tumblr media
Only when he realized that he had a good chance to start a relationship with the first girl he met who wasn't disgusted by him (Lucas' words btw) did he decide to take things into his own hands and start showing her the signs of attention that he could see in the movies, for example. And a kiss, an invitation to the ball, or little compliments were these signs of attention, albeit very, very childishly awkward.
Also, don't forget that words and their hidden symbolism play a big role in interpreting the ideas of this show (crazy, stupid, bullshit, etc., they all matter). Let's remember when else have we heard the word "pretty"? I can think of two instances: In Season 1, El looks at a picture of Nancy and calls her pretty, and in Season 3, El tells Billy that she saw his mother in visions and that she was really pretty. In both cases, there is no romantic subtext, especially the first moment, because it is a direct foreshadowing/parallel to Mike's words. When El calls Nancy pretty, Mike agrees. Reluctantly, but he still agrees. The fact that he may find Nancy and El pretty does not confirm his attraction to girls, because if finding El pretty = being in love with her, then Mike is also in love with his sister, which is obviously not true. Besides the parallel between El and Mike's sister, I want to say that finding someone of the opposite sex beautiful when you're gay is a completely normal experience. Like, I'm a lesbian myself and I may find some guys good looking, but that still doesn't mean I'm romantically interested in them, romantic attraction is different.
Tumblr media
Mike initiates the kiss in season 1 and 2, and the reason for this is because of the pressures of heteronormativity, he takes on the role of the man in the heteronormative relationship that everyone expects of him. And then later, during the kissing scenes in season 3, El is the one who initiates the kisses. El leans in while Mike basically stands there like a statue. Mike takes her hands off of him. During the second kissing scene in season 3, El is the one who holds Mike's face in her hands while Mike literally just sits there. Even though he is still affectionate with El as time goes on + as she develops her own identity + comes across as more stereotypically feminine, we see him become more and more uncomfortable with it, especially during the last kissing scene in season 3.
Mike and El's final kiss in season 3, or to be more precise, Mike's reaction to that kiss, is a whole other conversation, because I think that was his final stage of realizing his lack of attraction to girls. He may not have realized yet that he liked boys, but he did begin to understand that he wasn't interested in El or girls in general. I won't dwell on that, I'll just say that if Mike really liked girls, that embarrassing scene wouldn't make sense. If he didn't realize then that he didn't like girls, then what? I don't think he realized that he just didn't like El. That would be weird, because given his previous attention to her, it's unclear what could have changed in El so much that Mike "fell out of love" with her in one season.
Anon also mentioned that Mike liked El's new style, but I don't even see the point in analyzing that, because it's just a parallel to Hopper, who literally said the same thing. Another parallel between Mike and El's parental figure, nothing romantic.
Tumblr media
Now I want to tell you why I think Mike isn't attracted to girls, but let's move El aside a little to look at Mike outside of their relationship.
Mike is the only one from the entire party, or even from the entire series, who does not show interest in the opposite sex, with the exception of his partner. Dustin is dating Suzie, but he still thinks Phoebe Cates is hot. Lucas is dating Max, but before that, he also competed with Dustin for Princess Daphne in slot machines, and also called Max "perfect in her own special way." Max is dating Lucas, but he likes to look at boys in magazines and finds Ralph Macchio attractive. El, apparently, enjoys the idea of Max dreaming about other guys, and El also imagined herself in the heroine's place when she watched Hopper's TV. If we consider other, slightly more adult characters: Steve actively shows interest in other girls, Nancy has a poster of Tom Cruise in her room, and Robin, the first confirmed LGBT character in the series, also showed interest in Tammy Thompson, Phoebe Cates and Vickie.
Mike, on the other hand, has never shown any interest in girls other than El. Ever. When Max shows up at school, Mike is the only one who is extremely negative towards her and tries hard to keep her out of the team, acting in complete opposition to the rest of the party. His negative attitude towards Max not only helped create an interesting dynamic between them and make El jealous, but it was also an interesting way to differentiate Mike from the other boys based on his attitude towards girls. I've heard people justify his behavior by saying that he misses El and doesn't want Max to take her place, but that sounds crazy because how could Max take her place? Does Mike really think that if Max takes El's place, he'll have to date her and forget about El? That doesn't make any sense. The only way Mike's behavior makes sense is if he was jealous of his friends' (and especially Will's) attention to Max and didn't want Dustin and Lucas to have a love interest while Mike has no one to project his feelings onto.
When Dustin and Lucas compete for Princess Daphne in a game, Mike shows no interest in it. When Dustin says his girlfriend is hotter than Phoebe Cates, Mike makes his signature face. He doesn't respond to it, while Lucas expresses his doubts that Susie couldn't possibly be hotter than Phoebe Cates. When Ted calls El a "sweetie pie," Mike makes that face again, even though there was no reason to do so.
Tumblr media
Oh, and let's not forget about those shots, which could very well be a complete accident, but could also be brilliantly planned symbolism:
Tumblr media
Even though the main characters are 14 years old in season 3, in the midst of their teenage years and growing up, Mike still has no interest in girls other than El, both because he is fixated on her and because he has no attraction. The scene in the mall where Mike, Will, and Lucas are looking for a gift for El has always caught my attention. Especially that moment when the boys stumble upon a lingerie store and, as befits normal teenagers, get scared and run away. I find this scene interesting because of what the boys are looking at: based on the sequence of shots, it is clear that Lucas is looking at women's underwear, Will is looking at the bottom of the underwear, which can also be identified as men's, and Mike is looking at stockings, which have no clear gender.
Tumblr media
This is an interesting decision, because if Mike was attracted to girls, there would be no point in putting a shot with gender-neutral underwear after it. While this may sound like an argument against my point, I'm mainly just bringing this up to include this screenshot of a post from the official Stranger Things Twitter account:
Tumblr media
And finally, let's get back to the take on the Tom Cruise poster in Nancy's room.
Did you know that posters can say a lot about the person whose room they're in? In the show, we also saw Billy's room, who is obviously attracted to women, which is why he has posters of women in bikinis. We also see Steve's room, who is also attracted to women, which is why he also has posters of women in bikinis. And what do we see in Mike's room? Yeah, I think you know what I'm talking about... A half-naked muscular dragon being fought by a little wizard? Oh, okay.. A poster for the 1982 movie "Conan the Barbarian"?!? With another half-naked muscular man, I guess... Okay, but there's also a woman in the corner of that poster, right? Yeah, I hate to spoil the fun for you guys, but this is definitely not the kind of movie a man who likes women would watch. "Conan the Barbarian" is FULL of misogyny, toxic masculinity and... half-naked muscular men, yes.
Tumblr media
In general, I think this topic can be discussed for a long time, but I will probably stop here and I will be glad if you share your thoughts if you do not agree. I will be grateful if someone explains to me why he thinks that Mike is bi or even hetero, since I am not used to looking at this character from this point of view

The Disaster.
—————————————————————————
Gitae kim x R.femele. ( Naive )
—————————————————————————
Afternoon it was quiet in Gitae Kim's house, an imposing mansion surrounded by well-kept gardens. Inside, the atmosphere was silent, but there was a touch of lightness in the air, something that contrasted with the intensity of Gitae's personality. He was sitting on a sofa, immersed in some important documents, while his wife, a charming woman with a naive personality, was in front of him trying to do something simple: prepare dinner.
She, with a mischievous smile on her face, was trying to cut some vegetables for a recipe she found on the internet. However, what should be something simple ended up becoming a small disaster. The knife slipped from his hand and the carrot pieces flew all over the kitchen.
- Oh no! - She exclaimed, her eyes wide in surprise as she tried to catch the pieces that were falling.
Gitae, with an eye on the situation, couldn't help but let out a contained sigh. He watched as she tried, with her typical innocence, to solve the small disaster. His gaze was impassive, but something soft in his expression showed that he was not really angry. He knew his wife well, he knew she was clumsy, but his naive charm made everything seem... adorable.
She, with her hands busy trying to gather the carrot pieces from the floor, didn't realize that a piece of the onion was about to fall on the floor too. Gitae got up slowly, his posture calm, and before the piece fell, he used his skill to catch it in the air with an almost imperceptible movement.
- Maybe we should order food today. - He said, with a soft tone, but with that enigmatic smile.
She looked up, surprised and a little embarrassed.
- I can do it, Gitae, I know I can! - She replied, trying to show confidence, although the nerves were already starting to take over her.
Gitae couldn't help but laugh softly, the softness in her tone breaking the stiffness of her normally ruthless personality.
- I know you can, but... - He took a step forward, placing a hand gently on yours, who still held the knife, - I think you're trying too hard today. Let's do something simpler.
She looked at him with her big, bright eyes, trying to understand where he wanted to go. His behavior, no more innocent, always had a calming effect on Gitae. He knew that his wife, despite being clumsy and often naive, brought a light energy to his life in ways he didn't know he needed.
- I promise that, next time, I'll do everything right. - She smiled shyly, almost waiting for an approval.
He watched her for a moment, the intensity of her eyes softening. He could not deny the feeling of calm that she brought to her world, a perfect contrast to her more severe nature.
- I'm not complaining. - He replied in a soft tone, running his hand through her hair affectionately. - I just don't want you to hurt yourself trying to please.
She belushed with his words, feeling comfortable and protected by the way he took care of her. For Gitae, it didn't matter how awkward she was; he loved her in the most genuine way possible, even if her actions didn't always follow the rules of perfection.
With a shy smile, she got up and hugged him tightly, making Gitae smile discreetly, but sincerely.
- I'll get better, I promise! - She said, in a cheerful tone, already forgetting the little disaster in the kitchen.
Gitae, with her calmer and controlling nature, ran her hand down her back and looked at her with a gently affectionate look.
- Don't worry, you're perfect the way you are. And if you make a mess again, I'll teach you how to do it right. But, until then... - He gave a subtle smile, - let's order food and enjoy the night together.
She smiled and nodded, feeling relieved. The day had been more than just culinary disasters - it had been a reminder of how much, even being naive and disturbed, she brought balance and softness to Gitae's life.
And so, with a smile and a new commitment to "improve", she nestled next to him on the couch, ready to relax and enjoy the night with the man who always loved her, no matter what happened.
—————————————————————————
Gitae, with a gentle smile, reassures her, showing that, despite her ruthless personality, he loves her and values her the way she is. The scenario reveals the most affectionate and protective side of Gitae, balanced with the charm and innocence of his wife.

It took 50-years for Americans to finally figure out the Warren Commission's report was pure fiction. Today, the sad horrible truth we've suspected for decades is now confirmed. SCREW YOU LBJ!!!
- Summary of what was released about JFK's death in recently declassified documents.
"The truth is even darker than we thought. On January 30, 2025, new intelligence leaks have blown the lid on what we thought we knew about the JFK assassination. The released documents don't just reveal more about the cover-up — they confirm that we were dealing with a full-scale military intelligence coup, involving forces far beyond what ordinary historians are willing to acknowledge.
The surfaced files reveal a web of fraud so intricate and so heavily vetted that it becomes painfully clear: JFK's murder was a pre-planned high-level operation carried out by intelligence, globalist banks, and secret elite organizations. to eliminate a President who no longer followed their rules.
The recently released files from the National Archives and CIA Black Vaults include shocking, never-before-seen documents, and let's be clear, these are the records THEY DIDN'T WANT YOU TO SEE. These papers were never intended to be released to the public. They describe secret murders, destruction of important evidence, and direct orders from the highest levels of the US government to delete all evidence of who really pulled the strings that day in Dallas.
THE ELITE INCREASE PLAN - WHY JFK MUST DIE
Recently surfaced documents confirm what many of us have suspected for years: JFK was a threat to the globalist Deep State. He took the country in a direction that the shadow government could not afford. His murder was not just about revenge – it was a calculated execution designed to stop his policies, prevent a shift in power, and send a message to future leaders who might dare to challenge the system.
The leaked files in 2025 reveal that JFK actively worked to dissolve the Federal Reserve and return the United States to a gold-backed currency. These papers explicitly mention Executive Order 11110, which JFK signed, which directly challenges the central banking cabal that controls the global financial system. Within six months of signing this warrant, he was dead, and Lyndon B. Johnson immediately changed his policy and ensured that the Federal Reserve remained full control.
⚪ NEW DISCOVERED: FED's "JFK Hit Memo"
One of the most damning documents unearthed in the latest declassification dump is a previously uninformed memo from the Federal Reserve from 1963 — a report labeled "Directive Alpha" — which outlines the "economic destabilization risks" as JFK's pursuit of a sovereign currency free of central bank control. . The document was sent to key agents within Wall Street and the CIA, warning that “failure to limit the situation” could lead to an “irreversible change of U.S. monetary control.” "Weeks later, JFK was dead.
This memo was kept in a classified section of the National Archives, completely forbidden even for researchers working under the JFK Records Act. Now we know why.
CIA SECRET DEATH SQUAD - OPERATION EXECUTE
Forget Oswald. Forget the myth of the Lone Gunners. Latest leaks directly reveal CIA involvement in a covert murder program, codenamed “Operation Execute,” which was tasked with eliminating world leaders who threatened American intelligence interests.
Recently discovered names linked to JFK's murder
According to the leaked files dated January 2025, this program had operators stationed at several locations around Dealey Plaza that day, working under direct orders from high-ranking Langley officials. Among them:
William King Harvey — a CIA black op specialist, is described in the recently released PM as “an asset to ensure continuity of power in extreme scenarios. "This man was conducting murder patrols in Europe and was brought back to the United States months before JFK's assassination.
E. Howard Hunt - The notorious CIA agent linked to Watergate was present in Dallas, according to leaked radio communication logs recovered in 2025. His personal notes, which are found in the classified files, affirm his belief that "the mission was clean and well completed. ”
David Atlee Phillips - Chief of CIA operations in the western hemisphere, who had personal ties to Lee Harvey Oswald during his mysterious trip to Mexico City just weeks before the murder.
George H.W. Bush - Yes, the former president. A recently obtained FBI memo places him in Dallas on the morning of November 22, 1963, despite his decades of denial.
Explosive new evidence: CIA's fake Oswald conspiracy
Another document, buried for decades, confirms that several Oswald's bodies were used to create a false trail, ensuring the real perpetrators could frame him and silence him before he had a chance to speak. The leaked "Oswald Counterfeit Directive" outlines how a CIA-run identity unit deployed agents in Mexico, New Orleans and Dallas, to ensure Oswald's movements would match the official narrative — whether he was actually there or not.
JFK KNEW HE WAS GOING TO GET KILLED
JFK was not blind to the forces that worked against him. The leaked files contain several first-hand accounts from White House aides and secret recordings made in the Oval Office, where Kennedy directly confronts his closest advisers about murder threats.
Newly released JFK audio recording - His last words about Deep State
One of the most frightening discoveries in this latest set of documents is a never-before-heard audio tape recorded just a few days before JFK's trip to Dallas. In the band, JFK says:
"They'll come and get me soon. The war machine is too strong. But if I fall, let history know I tried to warn them. ”
This explosive evidence was buried for decades to sustain the cover-up. But now it has surfaced - proof that JFK KNEW his days were numbered.
========
WHY IS THIS TRENDING NOW
This is not ancient history. The same forces that executed JFK are still in control today - the intelligence, the secret banking elites, and the corporate power structures that benefit from endless wars, economic slavery and absolute control.
JFK’s murder was the day America lost it’s virginity. But January 30, 2025 is the day when the blackout finally dies.
They kept us in the dark for decades. But now the darkness lightens. The truth is here. And it will never be buried again."

reread FMF and so many new thoughts because I'm seeing so many northerner specific traits/mannerisms (or maybe I'm just reading into things too much shfhjshd) on the second read!!
first off of course the type of clothing they wear, where the ones max has always prioritises survival in colder places and fatal wounds (the hide and leather) but also probably to blend in to the background in the colder north areas compared to the clothing hes given the moment he's in Rico's territory which takes into account comfort and aesthetics
also the different fighting styles is sooooo interesting to me, the way that it is apparent the moment max is in the walls of the castle(?) and he immediately spots that it is indeed possible to climb the towels because him and the soldiers in the north lean to more of a sneaky and quick style compared to pure power, hence he's more sensitive to spotting weak areas that Rico's Territory (is he the south? east? west? idk) would more easily overlook because they don't focus on that as much, hence haven't explored those training techniques and the possibilities
AND OFC WHO CAN FORGET but max giving rico his hide I feel is soooo important especially since it is such a rare commodity to be in possession of that, and assuming max didn't have anymore (since he didn't have any while fighting saddik I think) giving his last piece to valuable hide to rico is mind blowing really, kind of showing his commitment (though not wanting to be in a middle of a chaotic situation like a kingless nation is also a great reason to want to protect the king ofc ofc) I also loved that we get to see rico's pov where it's actually used to save rico's life and everyone is stunned because they initially thought it was a tradition of sending husbands/loved ones off to war but it was quite the opposite - kind of interesting also that instead of giving rico any kind of pep talk or good luck talk instead max gives him something that would help protect him
and ofc all of max's contributions are highlighted because he is an 'outsider' who was brought up in a totally different environment (which the part where he's battle trained - even one of the best- is also super intriguing like is this a one off thing and most nobles aren't good in battle? or are they usually just not to the extent that max was and max was that good because of the need for survival in the north so basically everyone had to be trained there) and the kingdom people are wowed. which I would be too if queen-consort-wifey saves the king, saves villages lives AND eliminates the enemy like he's out here busting his ass off protecting the kingdom!!
but the thing that intrigued me THE MOST and really made me have a little yap session (oops) was the part where max, severely wounded maybe dying to blood loss type thing, just fatally stabbed saddik (who's at that moment probably gonna die maybe) and mick enters and basically his first thought is to make sure saddik is gonna die and takes out the knife in his chest. the total difference between that and Joris' reaction, which was to immediately attend to max (I don't think the titles make a difference because technically to Mick, max is bff AND PRINCE SO) which in that moment, is mick sure that max will survive hence he makes sure saddik dies? or is this more of a cultural thing(?) where it is more important to them that the enemy is killed because maybe it's hard to save lives that are lost/wants to make sure the lives lost aren't in vain and hence the utmost priority is to finish off the enemy?
anyways all that to say I really LOVEEEE all the little details and world building you do in the fics thank you so much for them 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️
the father the son and the holy yap please buckle in!! I have lots to say to this :)
correct that the northern style of clothing is gearing far more towards practicality. survival is hard enough up in the mountains, and they're not going to waste time dying their clothes. as far as comfort- if you're warm, you aren't freezing, and that's as much as they think about that. the kingdom proper, where the castle is at, is more central in the territory, and the climate is much more mild than it is further north. their clothes are lighter, they can afford to think about things like draping and style.
yes!! max immediately spots those vulnerabilities because he's coming at it from a different perspective. for the knights and soldiers within the army, they're all trained in a uniform way- it's about quantity over quality. up north, they just don't have the manpower for that kind of thing. every soldier is trained and honed individually to be the best possible fighter they can be, and part of max's responsibility as heir was to run those training camps. it makes sense that he has the best skills, when he's been training and practicing with/against all of his people, all the time. survivability = status for them. max is well rounded, strong, and smart, which means he has a lot of respect from his own people. he's earned his position as heir through years of hard work and boots on the ground devotion to his people.
in terms of things like the tower- for the average soldier, why would they scale the side when they could take a group and storm the front door? but when max looks at through the lens of him and one of his teams- which average out to two or three people- than the advantage of being able to sneak up is much clearer. sure, he could storm the front with one or two others, and they could win, but it's an unnecessary waste of energy.
the hide!! yes, it's an incredibly rare commodity, but what I don't mention is that max's leathers do have lining on the inside of certain spots! he and mick did the hunting themselves- and I will say, the creatures that the hide comes from are not easy kills, even for them. they might even try and take a bite out of your ankle...
I talked about it a bit in the other post, but max not wishing rico safety or good luck, but rather success on his mission- that's another cultural difference. for max, it would be offensive to be wished good luck, because it implies that he would need it, that his skills aren't enough by themselves. it's actually pretty rude lol. and telling someone to come back safe is also stupid, because he's going off to battle! he's going to get hurt! it would be weird if he didn't! and max certainly isn't going to say something pointless.
demanding success from rico's journey is max being supportive. if they were up north, everyone would be saying that to rico, so that if/when he was facing saddik, he would hear all of their voices telling him what he needs to do, and have the strength of that community inside of him.
...which leads me to your point about max and mick! more worldbuilding for northern customs ahead lol.
they do a fair amount of killing up there. since their population is smaller, in general everyone is well versed with taking lives. that can weigh heavily, so they've developed a culture where it isn't the person doing the killing- it's the blade. in the case of max and saddik, mick is doing max the greatest honor he can by ensuring its max's blade that takes down saddik. not anyone else's. you're correct that he can't tell right away if max is going to live or not- what he asses when he comes into the room is that there is max, potentially dead or dying, and there is max's blade sticking out of an enemy, and he's going to make sure max finishes the job. (technically his blade, which makes it his kill, even if mick is the one with the final blow.)
this in comparison to joris, who asses that max is hurt and immediately jumps to protect him. it really strongly highlights that difference there- "get it done no matter what or who is the cost" compared to "protect the prince consort first, deal with the threat after".
so yes, mick in that moment was seeing max's mission through, even if max was dying. he's not going to waste his time trying to save a dead man and potentially letting the enemy live. (he would've gone to max right after making sure saddik was dead, if joris hadn't been there. and he watches over him while he's asleep frequently, unbeknownst to poor martijn.)

I'm going to be taking advantage of the trailer for Senna's new miniseries to explain a subject that Brazil has been talking about for years, and that I think is important to share, so as not to have disagreements with the somewhat uncertain future of the script made for the miniseries.
Explaining why many Senna fans don't like Xuxa, a great artist and his most famous ex.
All the information in this was taken and translated from a thread, which was taken from several public interviews and also from stories that we have been told about Senna since we were little, so I may forget some details!
the release of the trailer for the Netflix series “SENNA” has revived the debate about how Senna’s relationship with Xuxa is portrayed in the media. Firstly, it is important to know that they had a public relationship between 1988 and 1990 (we don't know for sure) their relationship was very well regarded by the media and by the pilot's family, after the end the two continued to be “friends” publicly for more 2 years
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In 1993 Ayrton began dating Adriane Galisteu, which according to some articles irritated the pilot's family, as in addition to liking Xuxa a lot (who was already famous and rich at that time), they thought that his current girlfriend might have had her eye on his money. Shortly after the beginning of Senna and Galisteu's relationship, there were some interviews with the singer Xuxa, saying that Ayrton had cut off contact with her because of his new girlfriend, clearly with the intention of being welcomed by the public as the “poor thing” in the situation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ TRANSLATION: after the funeral, Galisteu's relationship with Xuxa, however, was shaken. The presenter and pilot dated for approximately one year and eight months and continued to meet for more two years after they broke up. Then Senna started dating Galisteu and "cut contacts" ]
After the fateful accident, which unfortunately ended up taking the great Brazilian idol, Senna's family continued to exclude Galisteu and support Xuxa, which led many fans to side with the model since she had just lost her boyfriend and was without any support.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ TRANSLATION 1: Family members welcomed the queen of little kids with open arms, but they did not hug Galisteu. At the time, one of the last in the procession reported - Xuxa was if the car Adriane was in was in the second car, just behind the car that carried Senna's body. ]
[ TRANSLATION 2: Crying a lot, Galisteu said that the two of them were having a great time in their relationship, that she was very much in love and had no idea what she was going to do with her life. "I think I'm living a nightmare and I'm going to wake up. There are moments when I'm strong, aware of everything, and others when I'm totally out of my mind. And I suddenly find myself completely alone, because I lost my boyfriend", said the model. "I wanted to go back in time two days to do something and stop everything ," she added. "But for me he was untouchable, he always came out well of accidents.” ]
[ TRANSLATION 3: When Adriane arrived at the burial site, there were only two empty chairs left, both next to Xuxa. She sat to the right of the presenter. The two spent two "long" minutes without even looking at each other, until someone offered Xuxa a seat next to Leonardo Senna, the driver's brother. ]
It is also worth mentioning that many of Senna's friends stated that he said that Galisteu was the love of his life and that he wanted to build a family with the model. However, Xuxa continued going after the pilot to try to get back together while he was still with the model.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[ TRANSLATION 1 : Then, according to the report, the presenter got into the family car, accompanied by Ayrton's sister, Viviane Senna, and left with them, while Galisteu had to walk to the exit of the cemetery and board a bus reserved for guests. For the journalists covering the burial, there was a clear impression that Adriane had not received the consideration that the three-time world champion himself had been giving his girlfriend. ]
[ TRANSLATION 2: Journalist Lemyr Martins, author of the book "A Star Called Senna", said, in a BBC documentary, that Galisteu was Senna's great love and "could have been the mother of his children", if it weren't for accident that killed the athlete in Italy. However, there are also theories of that Xuxa and Sena had talked about day before the accident and would have decided to resume the relationship. ]
[ TRANSLATION 3: In 1993, Senna opened up about the relationship that lives with Galisteus: "I'm very happy. [...] Having a life. As we Brazilian (pilots), traveling the world with Formula 1, we deserve, sometimes, to take a little calm and share our life with a special woman", he stated. ]
Okay love, but what's up? Why is there so much antipathy between Xuxa and motorsport fans? The reality is, the reason is that she used a lot of the driver's image to promote herself even after the accident, in addition to trying to force that SHE was the great love of his life, it is worth mentioning that the rumors that they had talked before the race were initiated, and are remembered, by her and her alone, with a video and/or interview talking year after year about a supposed connection they both had, always pretending to be a repentant widow, and Senna had two love affairs before Galisteu, after da Xuxa. Even after 30 years she still continues to share their INTIMATE moments, which in my opinion is totally disrespectful to Ayrton
She is known for wanting to convey the image of an “inconsolable widow” to this day, which is an image that doesn't work very well in Brazil, especially those who follow the interviews with Ayrton's friends, and Adriane herself, who leave It's very clear the pure love they felt for each other, as Adriane was the love of his life, he wanted to form his family with her, and one of Ayrton's biggest dreams was to be a father, so he could understand that he wanted to fulfill this dream about her says a lot about his love for her
apparently the Senna series will show this Xuxa character as a “widow” figure for Ayrton, especially because here we know that Adriane was not called to help in any way regarding her moments with him during the development of the series, to be clearer , she thought the character's name wouldn't be hers, she thought they would make her a fictional character.
Unlike Xuxa, Galisteu's interviews are rarely trying to “get back into the media” using Senna's name, as well as being very elegant when mentioning all of the presenter's “stories”.

“butterfly path, my 405 days alongside Ayrton Senna” by Adriane Galisteu
Adriane received an offer to be a Grid Girl at the 1993 Brazilian Grand Prix. She didn't like the idea, because she didn't care about F1, but she ended up agreeing as it was a good proposal. The first meeting with Senna took place on Saturday, during a social event at the Shell hospitality center, but they did not interact. On race Sunday, during the pitwalk, she was approached near the McLaren pits "I'm Ayrton Senna's private affairs advisor. He asked me to get his phone number." She passed and continued her work. She, who initially didn't like racing, found herself cheering madly for the Brazilian to win the race. And he won!
During the celebration given by Shell, all the grid girls came to him to congratulate him. She congratulated him and he asked her to celebrate with him. She refused. He called her the next day and asked her out. She refused again. He invited her to a party. She got a puncture and didn't go AGAIN hahaha
HE ENDED UP AT HER AGENCY OUT OF NOWHERE, everyone was euphoric.
They met at his house and arranged to go to Angra. They went in a helicopter piloted by Senna himself. She says that those days were extremely happy, she talks about her first kiss and the many walks on the beach and diving with her dog Kinda. Still on that same trip, he invented that there was a problem in the room she was in and took her to another "It's my room. Now it's yours too. Make yourself comfortable", From then on, they never let go!
She was introduced into F1, as his girlfriend, at the Monaco GP. She received a private lesson on all the characteristics of the track and was introduced to Berger, Braguinha, Rubinho, Betise, Galvão. He won the race and said it was for her. Upon returning from that incredible trip he says:
"Please don't ever change. If I had to ask you for something, it would be to be exactly who you are. You just don't need to drink so much Coca-Cola, go to so many McDonald's and, seriously, I think you should study English"
Already in Brazil, Dri was looking for a used car to buy. Then on a date that wouldn't be anything special, he surprises her with a brand new silver Uno. The car was full of flowers. On the plate a special detail: "DRI7770". She still has this car today.
Another cute episode was one time they got into an argument over an interview she gave to a magazine. To apologize later, he surprises her:
"Have you been to the bank yet?”
He gave a beautiful interview about how much he loved her, he even gave images of the two of them to Caras magazine.
"One day, I'm going to marry you. And one day I'm going to race in a Ferrari. Even if the Ferrari car drives as fast as a beetle car, I want to be there at my last start, my last lap, my last checkout - I dreamed. - Ferrari is the mystique of Formula 1"
Many say that this relationship made Senna a happier man. That Galisteus made him much happier and lighter.
Words from one of the most important people in the pilot's life, Braguinha: “Ayrton was sad and she made him happier”
The book tells this and much more.
It was such a cute story that it seems like fanfic. Dri moved on with her life, but she always carries this important part with her. She says that she would never want her story to be disconnected from his, that she has the honor of being Senna's ex.
For those who like these behind-the-scenes things, it's worth reading! There are so many more stories there!
I admire Adriane Galisteu so much
She was so young and had to deal with so much. I saw some interviews that were clearly rude to her and she never lost her class!

April 30, 1994
"I have a lot to tell you. To propose to you. To offer you - he continued. I must be there at 8:30 pm, or so. I want to spend the night awake. Let's talk until dawn. I want to convince you that I am, by the way, the best man of your life"
Sempre Senna.

tumblr user unionizedwizard certified #1 shadowbringers + g'raha overthinker reporting for duty
i HAVE been thinking about sphene being the exarch's foil. because it is a very obvious case to the point they had to pick him up from SHARLAYAN as an emergency Relevant Character and also allowed him to come with us to living memory (you know it's about to get serious when they let him go anywhere with the wol)
so, obviously. both sphene and g'raha (as the exarch) were thrust into a horrific nightmarish situation where they were put in charge of a entire city/state facing an umbral calamity. both care deeply about the people they're trying to protect - their people. both have undergone (willingly or not) heretofore unknown scientific operations that irreversibly changed them, using cutting-edge technology, making them immortal and fusing them with an immensely powerful reservoir of aetheric energy, all in the name of duty and preserving hope for the future; both have become a symbol rather than a person. the alexandrians needed their queen, whose mere presence stopped them from succumbing to despair; the people from novrandt forced the exarch into a similar position (even though he kept repeating he would not stand for becoming a king of any sort); himself, on behalf of the ironworks & the entirety of the post-8th umbral calamity survivors, was willing to sacrifice himself to bring back the wol - because (and this is the really important part) of the wol's status as a symbol of hope and resilience. everyone here, the wol included, is dehumanized and worshiped and used for their good, self-sacrificial qualities, as well as their unyielding willpower.
sphene's memories were altered, muddled, to an extent that nobody really understands. the scientists who managed to create the endless are all gone, the average alexandrian forgot everything and everyone they've ever known, she herself knows she's not the "original" sphene but a copy - yet she doesn't seem to mourn this loss, and indeed i don't know to which extent she conceives of it as a loss, or a violation of her bodily autonomy (which it was! she never asked to be brought back, especially not this way, which would be a more than traumatic experience for ANYONE to go through!). in the same way, the exarch's memories encompass several timelines and realities, and he spent an entire century having to hide his identity, not being able to mention his own name, much less his purpose or homeland - i'd say this self-erasure is more than comparable with sphene's experience. not to mention that both sphene and the exarch were forced into "passive", static roles - i don't know how sphene felt about this because this is the tragedy of her character, that we don't know (and she herself doesn't know) the first thing about her, as an individual with preferences and feelings and memories.
also, this all adds up with g'raha's role in the deltascape part of ultima thule - the omicrons being, as AI mechanical soldiers, the missing link between sphene and himself. there's a pattern here, interrogating the relationship between mind, body, memory, duty, freedom and personal agency & autonomy, etc. the endless in general and sphene in particular are more than reminiscent of the omicrons on this point.
all of this to say: thinking about g'raha's gondola speech, i did not think he was talking about the scions, or even the wol. i see how this is a possible (and likely) interpretation to have, but i must confess i was surprised when i saw that this is what most people had understood. to me he was talking about the people from the First, and also the people from the 8th umbral calamity timeline, especially those with whom he'd worked for, presumably, months at a time. so many people who died after the Flood (we tend to forget that he arrived right after the Flood, in the immediate aftermath), not just because of the sin eaters but also because of the sudden and catastrophic environmental changes; all the people who could never adapt to the eternal light and, presumably, went mad (it's a real thing in real life even though night does come back eventually, so i imagine it must have been that but a lot worse in novrandt). all the people who died due to lack of medicine, because all the medicinal plants and recipes disappeared in the blink of an eye, not to mention the healers themselves; all the diseases and epidemics and interpersonal violence that arose as a consequence of the severe famine and lack of basic resources that plagued what was left of the star. and the unfathomable loss and trauma of losing millenia of culture and civilization and knowledge and biodiversity and entire families, entire tribes, cities, countries, being annihilated. g'raha has lived through this for a century, combined with the post-8th umbral calamity state of the Source. we know how much he cares for the people of the crystarium, and we only see the crystarium as a fully-developed, beautiful, and harmonious city-state; we haven't seen the century of work and planning and emergency managing and unfathomable grief and pain that went into it. in the same way, we see alexandria (and living memory) as they are now, but only glimpse a few moments of utter chaos during the alexandria dungeon.
so i'm just thinking of g'raha, seeing living memory, and being the only one among the party who truly understands. who can truly relate to sphene, and understand her. he's the only one present who has personally been through not one but two calamities, and had to deal with them on a day-to-day basis (while readying a completely crazy long-term plan). how many people that he knew, loved, wanted to protect... died of "preventable" causes during the century he was on the First, while himself was immortal - so that he could keep doing his duty, doing everything he could to save them eventually? all this happened in a manner which was truly unfair, and unfathomably evil, and - possibly the worst part - he knew this was still "the better path" (as he put it himself while trying to summon the wol). the survivor's guilt that both he and sphene must be dealing with is simply impossible to really understand, i think. we've seen the crystarium. of course he'd wish for all these unfortunate souls to endure and finally know peace and happiness. and of course, he didn't have a Living Memory, but of course he couldn't help but wonder how he'd have reacted in this situation.
and i do wish we could have had him interact with sphene, actually. it made sense that she was wuk lamat's foil and all, but i think it would have been interesting..........

Had this thought when I was talking to someone else here but...
There are several instances in Obey Me! where a truth bomb is dropped in order to move the plot forward. You would think everyone else in the scene would have more to say about it, or have a much stronger reaction to what's happening, but then they just...don't react.
For example:
Likewise, in Season 2, Diavolo was explaining to everybody at the House of Lamentation the "MC is a ring" theory, citing how they have angelic heritage, which is part of the ring. Solomon and Simeon are present during this conversation, and none of them react to this statement. It makes sense for neither Solomon or Simeon to react since they were sharing notes with Diavolo on the calamities in hard mode. They likely knew about MC's heritage at that point already. What their thoughts are on MC being part angel and how that impacts Diavolo's exchange program are things that we probably won't ever know.
Shortly before MC was sent on a timeline hunt by Barbatos, Lucifer had confessed to his family about Lilith's true fate and the deal with Diavolo. In response, Beel asks Lucifer to give his other brothers a little more credit and trust them more next time. It was a great scene. Then timeline shenanigans happen, and this important moment seems like it got reset. It's unclear whether this revelation happened or not, and what came of it. I guess they didn't want a rehash of the same exact scene again when all the other revelations were going down, which is such a shame because I felt like that scene was so important to finally call out Lucifer on how horribly he managed the situation.
Regardless, there's somebody else who should have had a more visceral reaction to this revelation, who's reaction we never got to see: Belphegor. The narrative tells us that Belphie lost a lot of respect for Lucifer when he saw how Lucifer had gotten reduced to Diavolo's right-hand man and how he had seemingly forgotten about their sister. Having learnt the true motivation behind Lucifer's actions, what would he have felt? Relief, that Lucifer hadn't turned out to be as big a traitor as he had thought? Or anger, since Lucifer had selfishly withheld the fact that Lilith had lived and would continue living happily; that Lucifer was able to sleep soundly at night with the knowledge he had saved his sister while Belphie and Beel continued feeling guilty and grieving her for centuries? Or what if this anger was directed at Diavolo, as he now knows that Diavolo manipulated Lucifer into eternal servitude? Belphie having ANY thought about this aspect of the truth would have given him a good motivation to continue being salty about Lucifer and Diavolo and a good way to give him any development at all, since it's clear the writers had no clue what to do with him after his vendetta arc was done.
But this then begs the question of how much do the Purgatory Hall gang know? The fall, Lilith's fate, Lucifer's deal with Diavolo, Belphie's plan...do they know it all? And around what point did they find out? From NB Lesson 11, Solomon apparently knows about Lucifer and Diavolo's deal. Is that a case of characters talking to each other off-screen, since this story in particular likes to do that a lot, or the writers goofing up and forgetting that certain characters aren't supposed to be in the KnowTM? I know most of y'all are gonna say the latter, but that's so boring zzz
Speaking of conversations off-screen, let's not forget Luke, who wasn't present at that scene because he was watching over Lucifer. Would he have been told at some point (since it's hard to lie about why Lucifer suddenly had amnesia or why the Celestial Realm is dying)? Hiding this information from Luke would be yet another example of how little the others trust Luke with the truth (from his perspective), which would further bolster his justification for being upset and running away from home when Simeon and Solomon continue lying and hiding the truth later on.
And then there's that part in NB where Satan casually drops Solomon and Barbatos' entire backstory like it was nothing. Why was MC's reaction so cold, when they had expressed interest in wanting to know the reason why Solomon wants to collect all these demons literally the previous day? Considering MC didn't even know Solomon was immortal until the end of S2 (which I find totally ridiculous btw. Does MC live under a rock? Like, not even a suspicion that this guy is probably older than he looks? Really?), I doubt they knew all these other details about him. It was kinda weird Satan only read that paragraph to MC to make it an analogy about himself. What are his thoughts about people being ostracised regardless of their species? Especially with MC in the context of the Devildom.
The fact that he got that information from a book already raises so many questions. What kind of book is it? Did it exist in the MC's time period? If it did, why did nobody make mention of it before? And if it didn't, then what other useful information would be in it that the game refused to reveal? For all we know, the book probably has all the details on Barbatos being Nightbringer given what an important figure he was in this time period and the characters are too passive to find out--nevermind, I shouldn't overthink this.
THE POINT IS, anytime this kind of thing happens it gives me the mental image of everyone else in the scene being 🧍 when somebody is trauma dumping on MC. I don't mean that all 10 characters should show variations of the shocked pikachu face when Diavolo is revealing that MC is destroying the world, that would just artificially bloat the story and feel tiring. But if plot points and conflicts weren't immediately forgotten by the characters, we could have had like idk Luke doing his own thing to get Simeon to trust him (remembering how helpless he was when MC was causing destruction as the ring), or a Belphie regression/villain arc where he gets more people to go against Diavolo, or Solomon using "Belphie's murder attempt and Diavolo covering it up" as leverage against Diavolo and his reign if Diavolo does something to piss him off.
A lot of plot points that have taken place can have a lot of ramifications on characters' motivations, which can then impact the actions they take as a response. This would 1) allow the story to feel more cohesive 2) give the team some room to expand their story instead of pulling some new plot point out of their ass and 3) make the characters feel more dynamic as they are more active, not reactive (ironically), in the story.
Of course, the downside is that this route is much harder to implement. Having to coordinate the actions of 15 different characters and thinking of the ramifications they have on the narrative.....ooooooh boy.

LOUD AND CLEAR
Said by Jimin himself. He's searching for the person he's meant to be with, the one his heart is waiting for. He passes one person after another thinking is it you or you. And guess what ? IT WAS ALWAYS A WOMAN.
You and your theory about WHO proven wrong for 975939488848th time 😛
My goodness Anon, are you telling me my theory has been discussed that many times? That's quite an achievement! I didn't know my theories - or I - had such a far reaching impact.
[basking in the glow of this proud moment]
Ok I'm done basking, now back to the ask:
For those of you playing along at home, here's the tweet Anon sent in, for context.
Tumblr media
Anon, I'm going to quote you, since you said it so succinctly...
"He passes one person after another thinking 'is it you or you'. And guess what ? IT WAS ALWAYS A WOMAN."
Absolutely correct Anon!
It WAS always a woman
I'm glad we agree on this.
You also said "He's searching for the person he's meant to be with, the one his heart is waiting for."
Yes! We agree on this too!
He's definitely working hard to find the one his heart is waiting for - you said it yourself, he's searching. He's actively looking for them.
We're doing well so far...
Oh but context is important here, right??
We should probably clarify that he's actually describing the last scene of the MV - the one he's about to film. He's not describing himself or his own life.
Yes, to be totally transparent, Jimin is describing a scene he's shooting for the MV of a song - a song he asked Jon Bellion to write. A song he himself didn't contribute to beyond that. He didn't write the visual narrative for the MV either, that was the creatives at Lumpens. No doubt he gave a lot of input but he didn't provide the material.
Did you forget that part, Anon? Or did you think he was actually describing his own life? Or... were you sneakily pretending he was talking about his real life when he said those things, because that suited your argument?
If you were trying to make it sound like he was talking about his own personal lived experiences, that kinda sucks. Because we love Jimin for WHO HE IS. We don't need to make shit up about his life and pretend things are real when they aren't.
We don't need to pretend, Anon, we can just observe, write about what we see - honestly and objectively and without judgement - and then step back and look at the situation.
I guess you might be wondering how come I'm analysing everything if I think we should just be talking about what we see. Fair call. I don't mean that we can't read between the lines or make educated (substantiated) guesses that we can back up with facts (and cite our sources - I am a librarian after all). I also don't mean we can't look deeper than the surface. There are always layers of meaning and hidden messages in the art produced for BTS. I get right into it because I enjoy it - my background is in visual arts analysis so it's kinda my jam - but I'm not just making shit up. I have a wealth of learning and experience I'm basing my analysis on. I'm also not claiming that it's fact - it's an interpretation - It's my interpretation (and just quietly I am pretty good at this stuff so it's a justified and plausible interpretation).
What I'm saying is don't purposefully misinterpret what you see to mislead, or to fuel an opinion or argument that doesn't stand up otherwise. If you have to bend the truth to back up your argument, you might want to reconsider that argument. Theory is built on evidence, not the other way around.
But back to Jimin...
Of course it's perfectly possible that he did spend several years thinking he would one day find true love with a woman. Maybe he dated loads of women. Maybe he came close to finding a deep love with one or more of them. And if he did, I hope those were happy times for him (or at least meaningful times if happiness was elusive). I would never think of denying that if I saw evidence of it, or judging him for who he loves (or loved). I don't think there's any wrong or right here - whether it's heterosexual or bisexual or asexual or gay or queer or into kink or poly or whatever else he is or does. Who he fucks or who he loves or who he feels emotionally safe with - and for many of us humans those are not necessarily even the same people - that's his business.
His life, his body, his business.
I don't judge Jimin. I just admire and celebrate him for who he is.
And I wish him happiness.
I wish them both so, so much happiness.
That's the whole point of all of this, really.
That's why I watch Jimin and Jungkook together, Anon. Not because I want them to be together or because I think they should be, but because I see real happiness when they are together.
True happiness and true love are rare and beautiful things.
I think that's why most of us Jikookers are here, Anon. Because the joy we see and the delight we feel, just from witnessing these two beautiful people being happy, is real.
I'm not saying ALL of us are altruistic. Some Jikookers are full of shit. They covet one or both of them and they think supporting Jikook's relationship entitles them to make judgements or assumptions or claims about Jimin and JK. They get possessive, they objectify, they demand things. Some people who claim to support Jikook have spite and hatred in their hearts... yes, we have our share of nut jobs too.
But the majority of genuine Jikook supporters I encounter are simply here to celebrate the greatest love story we've ever seen. We're here to get behind two beautiful men who clearly love each other despite the odds against them. We're here to bask in the reflection of their glow and it's bloody wonderful.
But, I digress....
Let's go back to the making of the MV for WHO...
Tumblr media
<and here I go again with the analysis>
Here Jimin describes the MV, just like when talking about the final scene. He says it's like a musical movie.
"Right now we're filming one of my favourite parts. It's like a musical movie." There's definitely a narrative here, it's the part where he joins 6 other male dancers, an obvious nod to BTS.
We already know there 's a narrative, but Jimin confirms it for us here.
So let's look again at the narrative:
Throughout this production we can see that the dance (not choreographed by Jimin) and the lyrics (not written by Jimin) have been created/chosen to show /tell us that Jimin (the performer) is searching among all these women for the love of his life.
THAT'S *PART* OF THE STORY THEY ARE TELLING.
But it leaves out a pretty big development ...
He was searching for love, looking at every woman just as he was supposed to, but someone (WHO?) crashed into his life and stopped him in his tracks. Yes, that someone fell directly into his path in a way that couldn't be ignored.
Jimin said
"I try to see WHO I'm meant to be with... is it you? Is it you?"
It doesn't sound like he was giving anyone much of a chance, does it? It sounds more like he was searching for someone in particular.
Maybe it was no accident. Maybe he was searching for WHO all along and he just didn't realise, until he found him.
Tumblr media
Ok I am done talking (finally)
I'll finish responding to this ask so we can all go on with our lives.
To respond to your specific query, Anon:
Jimin doesn't say he's searching for a woman himself, does he? Not even in that quote you supplied.
He could have said "women walk past me" but he said "people walk past me".
He could have said he's trying to see which of these women he's meant to be with, but instead he said "who I'm meant to be with"
We can't ignore him saying WHO, Anon.
The song isn't called Which woman?
The song is called WHO
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anon, if you stuck with me all the way through this post, I commend you.
And yes, I was a bit facetious in the beginning, in my defence I had a shitty day at work. But I responded to you as the adult I imagine you to be, even though your language was a little on the childish side. I assume you were intending to piss me off but I enjoyed answering to your ask, so thank you regardless.
If you are still here I want to ask you a few genuine questions in return... I'd love to hear your honest answer.
Why, in the face of all the evidence, it's so difficult to accept that Jimin and Jungkook have a bond that goes beyond friendship or brotherhood?
They look like they're vey happy together, so why do you want them to not be together?
Why is it a problem for you if they love each other? Homophobia is learned behaviour. Who did you learn it from?
And probably my most burning question:
Have you ever experienced true, deep, lasting love?

Wanted to share some thoughts, cause I NEED TO SHARE IT. (Though it might be quite obvious, yeah...)
So, the whole thing with Warriors acting more stern with Wild lately. One could think: "Why just Wild? Hyrule can be quite reckless sometimes, and Wind is THE BABY, so why not them too?"
Well, there's one thing that they don't have, but Wild sure does...luck of self-preservation.
Wars can trust that others, even IF they let emotions take over, would still try to avoid DYING.
WILD WILL NOT. This fella uses his FACE as a SHIELD for ANOTHER PERSON, when there's NO NEED FOR THIS, while being in his "right mind".
SO WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT OF HIM, WHEN HE LOOSES HIS MIND IN A STRESSFUL SITUATION?
Wars still gave him the benefit of the doubt for a while, but after this whole fiasco with Twi's injury - Wars just can not help it, he FEARS for Wild's well-being, because "Champ" himself DOES NOT (with his whole "failure of a hero" thing, I presume).
And how does one even adress it? I doubt Wars saw many people who didn't care about their life before, he was at war, usually people want TO SURVIVE there. He's on edge cause he sees a problem and has no idea how to aproach it.
I want to preface this by saying I have a severe inability to stay on topic but yeah let's talk about it.
So you touched on something me and Jesse have both touched on- that Wars' actions towards Wild come from a place of concern and fear. I think that this is true. Wild DOES lack self-preservation instincts, and Wars has to be afraid of losing him- of the young knight earning more scars. Wild can be an idiot sometimes, but Wars saw him lose his head and attack the shadow when it was just proved to be lethal more than they knew.
There's a difference of perspective between ours and the boys tho that is important and I think contributes to people judging wars for this. See, to Wars perspective, and all of the boys, they could die at any time. An injury could be fatal and they can't see the future. We however KNOW that Wild survives, because we know he goes on to tears of the kingdom. We know Jojo has said that he is reckless and will get himself hurt but always comes out of it. But Wars has watched a billion (<exaggeration) soldiers die and is terrified of it happening again. Whereas we watch the comic from the outside, knowing for certain Wild will make it, Wars is living out that reality harshly.
ANoThER thing I think people forget to account for is Wars is not just a captain, he's a soldier but also leader in an army. I'm not the best with phrasing sometimes so I'll try to say this well- people in the army don't always get to be nice. Oftentimes armies have very harsh environments in treatment towards soldiers because when it comes down to training and life and death there is no time for niceties or feelings. Wars was pushed into the most major promotion ever pretty much to be an army leader. If he's now in the mindset of viewing Wild as a fellow knight/soldier who is not a leader... angry words and facial expressions is pretty mild to be honest.
Wars is a really nice person for all he's gone through, but fighting in a war is a very different experience than a solo journey like the others had. I think it's time to acknowledge that he was forced into far more of a role than the pretty hero, but also an armies leader, and it takes a lot of work to be a nice person through all that. Wars is a nice person who has a ton of strength to be so kind after all he's been through and his actions towards Wild make sense considering his past with what journey he came from. Thank you for coming to my ted talk- no I'm not done.
If anything I said was in any way offensive let me know. I hope my words didn't somehow come across as harsh.
Although him (in a way) treating Wild as someone who is out of line is understandable given his past, it's still not excusable. Wild isn't a soldier and he's not the leader.
Now for Wild time I'm going totally of the rails let's go
Wild doesn't. Yeah ok Wild doesn't like Wars. I've made like. Fifteen thousand nine hundred and fifty two posts on this (<big exaggeration). Wild has not really... spoken to Wars throughout the Lu storyline, tho he did in some of Jojo's starting doodles. Wild has really only spoken to Wars since it all went down when mr. stubborn got injured. I think Wild has a lot of resentment towards Wars for being the knight he was supposed to- who succeeded. Wild has flat out ignored Wars a lot of the time and honestly I'd get pretty frustrated with that too.
Also I along with the other nine hundred people want Wars to trigger an army memory in Wild. For the angst.
Wars is wrong in how he's acting towards Wild and Wild is wrong in how he's treated Wars not as someone worthy of respect. It's hard to pinpoint what's going on in Wild's head but I DO know Wars thoughts- he's terrified for Wild's life and angry that he ignored him and fought the shadow.
But yeah you're right. Wild has no self preservation instincts and Wars can't rely on him to freaking stay alive. Thank you for sending me an ask and sharing your thoughts with me!!! You matter and I love hearing from you /gen <3
Also. Let's make this clear. I love Wars so much. So very much. He's literally a fairy godmother. No hating on him or Wild on my posts. Thank :D

Text
Anders discource
I forgot to post this here as well, lol
This kinda turned into a small essay…. Which is to be expected, it is Anders’ discourse after all.
Tumblr media
This text is a personal view of the DA discourse, that is often summarized in fandom circles as “Was Anders right?”.
So let's start with this question: which is better, a peaceful or violent revolution? The answer is: both, depending on the severity of the situation.
I'm sorry to break your sweet dreams about “peace and love”, and “only peaceful revolution are justified” — but that's just delusional.
While I do believe that peaceful revolutions are the best outcome for both sides of conflict, more often than not they are impossible specifically due to unwillingness of the oppressors to seek true compromise. Because where the marginalized might achieve something slightly better for themselves, the oppressors lose the most important thing for them — they lose control.
And then the only thing that's left is a violent revolution. Or, well, death.
The rule of “turning the other cheek” does nothing but perpetuates further violence, when you're dealing with an oppressive regime. Because while the marginalized side often considers the middle ground with their oppressors (just for the sake of “making things better than before, while not risking the full annihilation by a stronger force”) the oppressors have only one in mind: “We want you fully gone, because you oppose our rule. You are a danger to us”.
The thing that I learned in past 10 years is that — ”Pacifism is a privilege”. And those who are oppressed don't have said privilege. They either fight or they die. Sometimes slowly (for ex. by assimilation), sometimes rapidly (in a massacre).
The thing that genuinely baffles me in the whole Anders' discourse, is the fact, that people forget or ignore that he for years tried to do the peaceful revolution. The Mage Underground was a way to get the mages from the dangerous environment, without engaging in the direct confrontation with the Templars. The manifestos on why mages should be free and letters to the Divine herself regarding the same issues that Circles pose — all of these are methods of peaceful resistance.
Now, remind me again, did these actions have any effect on how Templars or the Chantry treated mages? Maybe they revaluated their stances, did a thorough investigation of the possible mistreatment of their charges?
Oh, yeah — IT DID NOTHING.
No, not even that — the things started to get worse and worse, actually.
Any time the Grand Cleric “calmed things down” — the status quo remained. They didn't try to investigate the concerning situation in the Kirkwall Circle or any sort of rumours of abuses by the Templars. No, the Chantry for the most part closed their eyes to these rumours, and when the number of rebellious mages went up, the only thing they considered — was to organise a crusade (an Exalted March) against the Kirkwall. Nevermind, that most of the mages from the Circle and as fugitives were a faithful Andrastians, despite the conditions they were put through by the Chantry.
But of course, “the Chantry is just a religious organisation, it shouldn’t be targeted in such situations”...
So, back to the Templars — they didn't get their wish of cutting down all the mages under their care right there and then. But they sure as hell were allowed to continue to physically and psychologically torture, push mages to their breaking point, and commit any abuses they felt like doing to their charges.
In all of this, the Chantry poses as an enabler and the cause of the laws against mages in the first place. Not to mention that Chantry was responsible for the creation of the Templar Order, and they are subservient to the Divine.
By the 3rd act of the game we have a conformation, almost right away, that Meredith send a letter to the Divine requesting a Right of Annulment.
It's not anymore a question of “if the Divine will approve of this” — she might have said no, it's true. But our characters don't know that. They see the situation, where every peaceful attempt to reach a resolution was met with silence or threats of violence. With all due respect — only a fool hopes for the better and does nothing in such a situation.
This becomes a question of “when will it happen”.
When the oppressors say “I will murder you” you don't go “How about we talk”.
When you propose a dialogue and the opposing side says "No" over and over again, while continuing to tighten up the leash around your neck, the only right action is to fight back. If you fight — at least you have a chance of surviving. Otherwise, — it's death. Slow or quick, depends on the choice of the oppressors.
Another important thing, is that revolution doesn't happen on the shoulders of one person. It needs people. And those people need to believe that the idea has at least some chance to come true, they need to be inspired.
Inspiration not always comes through well-put speeches preaching kindness and unity.
It also can come through acts of violence, if said violence is turned against the oppressors. It shows, that they CAN BE BEATEN.
And Anders’ actions inspired people.
Anders tried his voice, he tried to reach the society in general with his arguments. That didn't work.
He tried to bring change with the Mage Underground, to recruit his friends (Hawke and the party) to join his active efforts of fundamentally changing things — that didn’t work as well. (while the friend group acts uninterested and uninvested in Anders’ righteous cause, Hawke might constantly and only suggest diplomatic solutions, which at the time were already useless and only maintained the status quo)
So the next closest thing is an act of violence against the Chantry — to show all those mages, who are still doubtful, who are scared, who think there is no hope — you can fight back and make it hurt.
What was called “compromise” from the Grand Cleric was maintaining the status quo, where mages in the Circle were still suffering the abuses, while the Templars simply weren't allowed to make them all Tranquil.
How the fck is that a compromise?
If you didn’t get it already — I am a big supporter of action, when it comes to revolutions and fight against oppression.
While acting is always a wild card (you have no idea, what reaction you might get from your oppressors, if you'll receive any support from “external forces”, if the luck will be on your side) — it always brings change.
On the contrary, inaction — leaves your fate in the hands of the oppressor. They might be merciful, they might be cruel — what happens to you and your people in such situation depends solely on their wimps. In many cases — the status quo remains, nothing changes.
The Chantry personnel was part of the problem. For years, they did nothing to investigate possible misuse of power within the Circle, that obviously perpetuated further and further rise of temper among mages.
They stayed silent on the issues of Ferelden refugees, leaving them to fend for themselves in the slums (while obviously holding significant part of the influence in the city).
They obviously took part in less than peaceful instalment and fight against neighbouring religions (see Mother Petrice and the Qun).
And, returning to the topic of mages, they perpetuated as part of their official teachings demonisation of mages as a whole, purposely ostracizing them from society and creating an impossible conditions to fight against. Their word was the law. And even if the mage had a compelling argument for their case — without even a bit of approval from the Chantry, they wouldn't have a chance of bending the society to their side.
So, the Chantry is just as guilty.
Another thing that needs to be considered in this topic are the casualties among civilians as a result of Anders’ violent protest. Because in the aftermath of the explosion there was 100% injured or dead among civilians. One might argue that they are just as gullible, turning a blind eye to the obvious misdeeds by the Templars and apathetic response by the Chantry (all it takes for evil to fester, is for good man to stay silent, after all) — but that still doesn't make their deaths rightful or expendable.
Anders had to make a choice — either them, or the mages.
They are the collateral damage of this conflict. One, that could have been prevented, if the oppressive side agreed to at least a compromise with the oppressed. But they didn’t.
And as a result, Anders had to take actions to unsure at least some fighting chance for his people, for the mages. The sad thing for me, personally, is that he will be the one to live with the burden of this choice, and not the personnel of the Chantry or the Templars, as they didn’t consider themselves guilty.
The other side of this story could have ended with Anders staying silent, Meredith putting into motion the Right of Annulment and then the Chantry sweeping what happened under the rug (which had a high chance of turning the story to the path, where revolution among mages happened decades later or even didn’t happen at all).
And that would have been the consequences of his choice as well, though a much worse option if we're considering that Anders made it the purpose of his life to bring change to the system and protect his fellow mages.
Another thing that is often brought in discussion is that Anders should have chose the Gallows as his target. In this scenario, there would have still been casualties among the civilians (consider the debris falling from the sky), as well as guaranteed deaths among the mages and tranquil (all were located in the Gallows). Anders wanted to give them a fighting chance, not kill them right away.
So selecting the Chantry as his target to shift the general power balance in the conflict and send a message to both the institution and mages across Thedas — is absolutely logical.
Other thing that makes no sense — is the lack of mages who actively sided with Anders' actions while remaining on the defence against Templars (not that weird shit about creating 2nd Tevinter in the Hinterlands)
Because that's how it went with revolution in my country. We have some people who regret the revolution (even now), we have those who are apathetic to it, and we have those who believe in it wholeheartedly.
People died for their beliefs in this revolution, and both them and those who advocated for a more proactive approach and survived were idolised by numerous people afterwards.
Some rightfully so, some less. But it still happened.
They are considered heroes, EVEN THOUGH we also had an invasion of part of our country from our neighbour as a result of this revolution. And in latter years, we are now defending ourselves from a full-scale invasion from the same oppressive force that was largely responsible for the reasons we had a revolution all those years ago.
The majority of people in my country would still, without a doubt tell you, that the revolution and the subsequent violent fight for our future was the right course of action. Even now, knowing how things turned out for us.
Because it brought change. It gave us hope that we can be that force of change.
So when the DA tells us, that there were barely any mages, or relatives of mages who were taken from their families, who considered Anders' actions justified and idolised him into this heroic persona — I call bullshit on that.
That's simply not how things turn out in these sorts of situations.
Many held grudges not only against Templars, but the Chantry as a whole. Many spend their lives in hiding or locked away from their loved ones. The voices of many were never heard, no matter who they appealed to — and then comes this mage, who dealt an irreparable blow against the authority of the Chantry, who challenged their rule and told everyone “the time for compromise has passed, it is time to fight”.
Are you telling me people won't idolise that?  Span a ton of rumours and legends around his figure?
I highly doubt that.
I have genuine criticism of Anders as a character — his racist towards elves views are hard to miss. The occasional misogyny (if we're taking Awakening into consideration as well) is also present. All of that can be explained by the upbringing in the Circle and under the Chantry, but it is NOT an excuse, and these are genuine flaws of his personality.
That being said, you don't have to be a perfect victim for your suffering to be acknowledged, related to and your fight against oppression to be supported.
“Oppression” is not an achievement, that you unlock only after reaching certain standards.
It simply exists. And not only you can fight it, but you must.

I was inspired to write this scene in dialogue script format. The Sea Grunk Twins maybe feel a bit too open and being able to communicate, especially Stan. But let's assume it's been several months since Weirdmageddon and they've actually been working with therapists.
Plus being faced with their counterparts struggling over several days maybe got them talking and reflecting some more. Witnessing the obvious emotional constipation from the outside is painful. The obvious differences about their lifes help, too. And it's not like they talk much about their own issues.
--
Carla: Please tell me it won't take these two knuckleheads almost 30 years being able to ask for hugs!
Sea Grunk Stanley: Carla, we're one of the worst versions you could ask for help about this.
Sea Grunk Stanford: If only because an accident led me to 30 years being lost in the multiverse until Lee saved me. Not to mention the extreme circumstances that led to our reconciliation.
SG Stanley: Your Standford and Stanley are way ahead us in several ways compared to when us old coots met again. Both times.
SG Stanford: I assume that our histories were identical until a certain point, that being when- A witch you said? When the witch cursed the younger Stanley. But even if you discount that detail-
SG Stanley: Moses, I wish I could.
SG Stanford: Hush, we all know you're not really bothered by that. Um, going back. Our respective lifes have diverged immensely from each other. We just don't know what will happen or what they need because we can't compare the two situations.
We're still playing catch-up with dealing with our own trauma, lacking communication, and having been separated for that long without almost anybody else supporting us.
SG Stanley: And you know some of the fucked up stuff around the history that probably's the same.
Carla: I made some guesses about the things the twins let slip about their childhood and adolescence. And their twenties.
SG Stanley: It was... probably even worse than you already heard. It makes that sappy intimacy and being vulnerable stuff even more terrifying. The two need to relearn each other. Need to unlearn some deep-rooted shit rotting away in their minds.
SG Stanford: A lot of it was planted there by other people. Which doesn't change that it's unfortunately tangled with their bond and feelings about each other on top of everything else. We would know.
SG Stanley: But! Not all of it is bad!
SG Stanford: Lee's right. You said that they're way ahead of us in some ways, compared to us when we were their age.
SG Stanley: Actually talking with and listening to each other. *beat* Well, some listening, and some telling each other important things.
SG Stanford: Having an actual support system outside of their immediate family, with healthy relationships. More than one person who can comfort them or call them out on their shit. Who they can rely on, and who can rely on them.
SG Stanley: I repeat, I'll deny having said any of this sappy stuff later if asked.
Carla + SG Stanford: But we won't let you forget! :)
SG Stanley: Shut up, I'm denying. So. Having real friends and family-who-are-also-friends has helped us the most. There, I said it. And now I'm denying I said it.
SG Stanford: That, and therapy. But yes. Not being on our own anymore has made it possible even getting to this point.
Carla: So you're saying that they need time to figure it out, but that they will eventually. *sigh*
SG Stanford: Well, not only that. I'm actually worried about a trend you've mentioned. They're the most comfortable hugging each other and showing affectionate behavior when the other was hurt or in danger?
SG Stanley: I swear, if they start any bad habits over that, I'm going to tie them together and sit on them until they've talked things out. Properly!
Carla:
SG Stanley:
SG Stanford:
SG Stanley:
Carla:
SG Stanford: Carla.
SG Stanley: I'm getting the rope-
Carla: Don't you dare!
[It's about the Cat Stan Twins having the same desire (protect their brother) and same issue (if I can't even protect him, what worth am I? / he's more important than me / self-worth) putting them into conflict.]
This is so good. And Carla's the perfect person for them to talk to about it.
Because their lives are so different, they can't know for sure how the cat Stan's will turn out. We know they'll figure out how to talk communicate with each other, but at this point in time that's hard to see. Especially since their friends have to help them along and watch all their painful attempts.
I love this. Acknowledging how they can't know for sure, but pointing out how well the younger twins are doing compared to where they were at at that age. Then SG Stan wanting to hurry the process along lol.

It was his worst nightmare come true. Well, maybe not his worst, that was one he hoped would stay tucked into the recesses of his mind for all of time. But this definitely made the list, without a doubt. Several years ago, it would’ve been an inconceivable one, but now, knowing what was waiting for him at home, this was the absolute worst.
“Are you going to be home for Christmas?” Her voice rang through the line as clear as a silver bell.
“I don’t know. I hope so. But…” Spencer allowed himself to fall back onto the bed he had been sitting on, trying to imagine he was home for this holiday. In his mind, he could see it as clear as he did when he left their home two days ago, the Christmas tree they had spent an afternoon decorating, the garland lining the stairwell that had been entwined with warm white Christmas lights, how the whole house smelled just like a Christmas tree farm and some cinnamon.
Spencer hoped that if the fates had any sway and any favors they could pull for him, maybe this would be the one. “But?” She had caught onto the sentence he didn’t finish, his mind lost in remembering.
“Well we haven't had any victims in the last three days and what we have isn’t conclusive enough or worse, it’s just not enough.”
“Oh.” He was staring at the hotel ceiling above him, getting visually lost in the scalloped pattern of what was above that he missed the defeated look on her digital face.
“And I don't want to wish for another victim, not a few days out from Christmas, but if we don’t get enough evidence we’ll have to close the case and go home.”
“Would you be here for Christmas?” The voice she used was relatively small, knowing at its core, it was a selfish desire: to have Spencer home for Christmas when people in another town needed him to stop the unsub. But there were only so many childhood Christmases for their daughter, and there was nothing more important in their lives than her.
“I mean maybe, but we would just have to come back out when the next victim shows up and I don’t want to leave if he’s still out there.”
“Is it possible he’s tied up in holiday festivities?” On her end of the call, she was moving about the kitchen, preparing a late night cup of hot cocoa as she listened to him, knowing she was sharing his attention with the details of the case.
“I mean maybe but…” His voice trailed off again as he slowly sat up, his memory deep diving into the facts of the evidence board and how that situation had never been entertained, how they had never considered with the holidays their unsub might be busy with festivities.
“Spencer?” She called to him, making sure he was still there or that the call hadn’t dropped.
“What if he’s tied up in holiday events and- I gotta go.” Pushing himself off the hotel bed, he ran towards his satchel, forgetting his phone on the sheets. With a view of the ceiling, she called for him one more time.
“Spencer?”
“Yes?” Crossing back over, he looked down to his phone so she could see him one more time for the evening, a smile forming on her lips as she knew they might’ve just had the breakthrough he needed. Whether he would get home in time for the holidays was one thing, whether he would save a town from future torment was another matter entirely, something she knew he was perfectly capable of.
“I love you.”
“I love you too.” Her words had given him the hope he needed, that electric spark of an idea that could carry him through the next few hours of re-evaluating the case enough to feel like he might actually be able to go home. “I’ll be home for Christmas. Promise.” Even through the phone screen, he could see the tears that had built along the bottom of her eyes, the smile she tried to show just for him, and he hoped against everything, that her beautiful and brilliant mind had given him the breakthrough the case so desperately needed.
-
“What?” Penelope yawned over the speakerphone, stumbling into her office that morning with Spencer five cups of coffee deep into his complete reanalysis of a case everyone was nearly ready to close, unsub known or not.
“We need to look at individuals who would be tied up with holiday festivities right now. Craftsman working on the local parade or theatre performances, someone who would have access to the tools and skillset but have virtually zero free time right now due to holiday obligations.”
“Spencer, it is six in the morning there, did you sleep? At all?”
“I got four hours before midnight and I can sleep on the jet.” He rattled off in a half breath as he added new notes to the map on the evidence board. “Okay, how many of the churches are hosting or have already hosted Christmas events this month through New Years?”
“Uhm…” he waited for her numbers, hearing the incessant typing of her keyboard, “Jesus, you’re definitely in the south. Within the city limits, 43.”
“Out of city limits?”
“52.” His attention focused in on the pins where the latest victims had been found compared to where the churches and local theaters were. “Spencer?”
“What about-”
They carried on like that for another hour until finally, they had narrowed it down to one guy. Their unsub had split time between three churches and a local theater, one victim tied to each community and within a few hours, they had their warrant and had arrested him before he could even wake himself up that morning. He was pulled into questioning which unfortunately did take all day, but by the time paperwork was finalized and evidence collected by evening the next day, they were on their way home to spend Christmas Eve night with their families.
The jet ride back that night was nothing remarkable, everyone choosing to sleep or keep to themselves this trip. And he was right. Spencer Reid did sleep on the jet the whole way back to Quantico. But the warmth he found in his sleep on the jet would soon vanish as the cool Virginia air greeted him with a vengeance that night, just as the team shuffled from the jet to the SUVs. The ride back to the office was quiet, but no one could continue their naps from the jet. All anyone could do was think about the families waiting for them back home, families waiting to start the holiday festivities.
“Look.” JJ had whispered to Reid at one point in the drive, her hand extending her phone to him in the backseat from her spot in the passenger seat. “Will and I agreed the boys should open one present tonight.” The video, once Spencer held the phone in his hands, was of Henry helping baby Michael open a box that sat on the floor between the two. He didn’t quite catch the content of the present with the shaky filming and glitching pixels, but he smiled over his godsons nonetheless.
“Wow.” Spencer let himself marvel aloud as he passed the phone back to JJ, trying to fight the yawn that was lingering at the back of his mouth. “Are they waiting up for you?”
“Henry is but Michael fell asleep early tonight. Will said they’d watch Elf and the Grinch until I get home though.”
“That’s not going to delay Santa Clause?” The look in his eye was one of knowing, a near twinkle of mischief.
“As long as milk and cookies are out, Santa will be fine.” Spencer could see the fond smile on JJ’s face in the light from her phone screen before she put it away in her pocket, looking back to him then. “What about your house? Do you think they’ll be awake when you get home?” Spencer tried not to think too hard on the possibility. He knew the schedules, he knew the odds, but part of him hoped he would get what was left of Christmas Eve with them, even if it just meant a five minute bed time story with Autumn and then one mistletoe kiss with his wife before they both passed out for the night.
“I hope they’re awake. But it’s late anyway so they’re probably asleep.” He felt how the possible reality affected him, but he hoped against everything he would get to see them just once before Christmas morning.
-
Normally when they got back to the office building, they were dismissed until the next business day. And he thought Hotch would especially excuse them as they both had kids at home. But something wasn’t right. As they piled out of the vehicles, Hotch required everyone to return to the 6th floor. He wouldn’t say why, and if anyone had a chance to ask, all they were told was “some paperwork cant wait for the next day.”
Spencer was the first one off the elevator, noticing how the time clock over the bullpen read the time to him, almost mocking him. 10:43. He did take a moment to glare at the ticking thing, setting his satchel down into his computer chair as he rubbed at his eyes. They opened to notice one thing was different, one thing that didnt sit right in his mind. He couldve sworn the roundtable room blinds were always open, never closed unless there was an important meeting. And he could've also sworn the picture frame on his desk with their family Christmas photo had been on the right of the computer, not centered along the right side. “Hey, H-“ He couldn’t finish calling to his boss, a commotion behind him taking his attention.
“DADDY!” His head spun trying to find her voice, knowing it anywhere. The one voice that could get him to shed his FBI exterior and leave his heart open. Turning around, he saw the blur of her hair and holiday dress as she ran down the steps to him, his body immediately bending down to scoop her up. “Daddy you’re back!” Her voice cheered into his shoulder as he pressed a kiss to the side of her head, spinning them around for effect. She giggled profusely as he looked back to the roundtable room, now seeing (Y/N) waiting just outside the door, hand over her heart as the scene unfolded. He motioned for her to come join them, quick to notice how she wiped away tears as she rushed to be with them by his desk. Holding tighter to Autumn, he pulled his wife in for a hug, also placing a kiss to her hair before deeply inhaling, renewing his memory of her scent.
“You’re here.” He breathed out in a whisper, squeezing her body to his.
“Penelope called. She wanted you to have your family for the holidays.” Looking once more to the roundtable room, he saw Penelope as she stood along the railing, a gentle wave to Spencer as he held his girls in his arms.
He mouthed a thank you to her before pressing another kiss to (Y/N)’s head, Autumn resting her head against his.
“Daddy?”
“Yes sugar plum?”
“Can we go home now? We’re going to miss Santa.” They both laughed as they hugged her closer in their little family huddle, evermore appreciative that they got one more Christmas as a family.
-
The drive home was exceptionally quiet, Autumn running out of energy before they even left headquarters. Spencer’s hand didn’t let go of (Y/N), thumb rubbing slow circles into the top of her hand as he watched her driving. “I love you.” He mumbled, in such a tired daze from the last few days.
“I know.” Squeezing his hand, she spared a look at him at the red light, no other cars at the intersection. “I love you Spencer.” Just as the light turned green, she noticed how his eyes fluttered to a close, the smile still present on his lips. “Seriously?”
“I’m just so happy.” He hummed, opening his tired eyes to look at her in the passing street light.
“Yeah, and you can’t fall asleep right now because you’re carrying her inside. I can’t carry both of you into the house.”
And he did just that. When she parked their car in the parking lot, Spencer was quick to get out to open (Y/N)’s door and then gently opened the door where Autumn’s seat was, careful not to wake her. While he carried her into the building, (Y/N) made sure to get all the doors in their way, hoping Autumn would stay asleep from the car to her bed. As soon as she hit the matress, her hands did reach up for Spencer as he gently removed himself from her hold, but he quickly reached for the custom teddy bear they had gifted her for when he was away on a case, and she snuggled up to it like it was good enough. Holding (Y/N)’s hand, they both tried to commit to memory the serenity and peace of their daughters room before closing it for the night, quietly walking towards their room now. “What time do you think Santa will come?” She asked as she took off her evening clothes to get into her pajamas, sitting on the bench at the foot of their bed as she waited for Spencer to finish getting ready.
“I was thinking maybe 3:00, maybe 4:00?” She didn’t shy away from letting out a groan as she came up behind him to hug his back, only having successfully put on his pajama pants for the night.
“Maybe 5:00.”
“Do you think she’ll get up and check?” His hands came to rest over hers, holding them close to his stomach.
“No, she didn’t get her afternoon nap so she’s extra tired tonight.” She placed a kiss to the back of his shoulder blade, and he tried his best not to melt into her touch.
“I missed you.”
“Missed you more.” She mumbled out before Spencer turned around in her hold, bringing his arms around her as she settled against his chest.
It was such a simple thing, to be in each other's arms, but it was the one thing they both craved when they were apart. It was the one thing in their relationship that hadn’t changed, the need for physical touch but only from each other. Like many times before, Spencer’s mind seemed to stall with the concept of time, unable to differentiate the seconds from minutes in her arms, resting his cheek against her head. “Let’s go to bed.” One more kiss was pressed to her hair before she let go of him, turning to climb into their bed.
As they made their way under the covers, Spencer moving to lay behind her, his arm slipped over her waist, her back to his chest, and it was then he lost the strength to hold back the lingering thoughts in his mind. “I thought I wouldn’t get tonight with you.”
“You did. It’s our own Christmas miracle.”
“You’re my miracle.” He pressed a kiss to her shoulder, lips lingering over the surface. “My dream I never have to wake from.”
“You, Dr. Reid, are exceptionally cheesy.” A laugh had burst from her lips but he didn’t even flinch or pull away from her. Her laughter settled back into the quiet of their room, eyelids starting to grow heavy as she felt her heartbeat synchronize to his breathing behind her. “Santa’s at 5:00?” The response he offered was just a small hum of acknowledgment, squeezing her body tighter to his before they both surrendered to the attractive lure, falling into a blissful sleep (if only for a few hours).
