"Yeah- we can definitely do that." Taking shifts actually seemed like a good idea, and though Sugiura definitely felt as if he was both flying blind and making everything just a little bit worse, he wanted to do everything he could. Even if he couldn't actually help Yagami out of his struggle... he could at least support Kaito with all of his strength. Even if that ended up just keeping an eye on Yagami while Kaito slept, or making sure there was always a hot meal ready for all of them.

"I'll go grab some groceries tomorrow- we're gonna need them." At least he had spare blankets so Kaito could crash on the couch in the mean time. Admittedly, part of Sugiura appreciated the company - - he didn't need to be sinking into his own despair at the moment and making everything worse. He needed to keep his focus on his two friends and do what he could from there. "You'll have to let me know what kinda things you like eating so I can make sure I don't end up putting together something you hate--- and Yagami, for that matter. Does he... get picky with food when he's like this? Anything he's more likely to go for?"

Even with the experience of the last few times this had happened, Kaito still felt like he wasn't too knowledgeable about it all either. Sometimes his usual ideas worked, but sometimes Yagami hated it, or vice versa. Everything about this was kind of unpredictable, and while he found himself frustrated with things at times, Kaito knew Yagami hated it far more than he did.

"Keepin' an eye out for him in shifts would make things a lot easier for both of us. That way we're not overwhelming him, or goin' too long without some rest ourselves." He remembered barely sleeping before. He remembered the mess of the first time. The true experimental phase, where he wasn't sure if he should go home to sleep or sleep over at Yagami's place. Both had had their pros and cons, but ultimately felt like it'd be better not to leave Yagami alone.

"Otherwise, just helpin' out when I ask for it'll be really helpful too. I dunno how long he's gonna be like this, so we may end up needing a few grocery hauls before he finally calms down." The length of these things varied wildly. Kaito could remember that low point after Okubo's second trial lasting over a month. All the while, other meltdowns had only lasted a couple of days.

For all of their sakes, Kaito really hoped it'd be a shorter one.

Pt 2

Lucifer had been thinking about the guy at the aquarium for the last two weeks, on and off. He'd not really been eager to date since the divorce, and Lucifer was not a hook up kind of guy. He truly did want to be an anglerfish, he wanted to latch onto his partner until one or (ideally) both of them died. He was obsessive, but in a fun caring way that definitely didn't drive his ex wife away.

"Ugh..." Lucifer dragged his hand down his face, trying not to look at himself in the mirror, at the risk of seeing the purple under his eyes that seemed just ever present at this point in his exhausted life.

"Papa, look!" Charlie said, standing up from her little table he had in the living room for all her arts and crafts. She ran over, holding a big piece of paper with a bunch of scribbles on it, but in the middle was unmistakenly a jellyfish from the aquarium. Lucifer grabbed it in his hands with a big smile, marveling at it - his daughter was so talented!

"It's beautiful, Charchar!" Lucifer exclaimed, kissing her all over her head, to squeals of giggles. "Wow, look at that, what a perfect jellyfish! You really liked the aquarium, huh?"

Charlie nodded her head, eyes big and bright. "I like the one tank with the pink stuff, and the other one with the one thing, and the floppy little guys on the ground, and the-"

"Do you want to go again?" Lucifer asked her, and Charlie froze up for a second, processing the question, before she bolted for the door, grabbing her little red coat and boots. Lucifer wanted to cry, she was so cute.

Lucifer had packed in the car her stroller wagon, because Charlie had started to get tired last time by the end, and she'd made Lucifer carry her coat and stuffed toys the entire time. They'd been rolling around the aquarium for a bit, looking at the different displays, before Charlie got excited at the penguin exhibit. Not exactly what Lucifer considered aquarium animals, but he supposed it made as much sense as an otter or seal.

He lifted Charlie up so she could see the birds waddle around, and he was so distracted by her reaction, he didn't notice the shadow beside him.

"I hate penguins," the voice said, and Lucifer turned slightly to look at the man, before doing a double take, eyes going wide. Oh, oh it was the hot but not hot guy from before, Lucifer opened his mouth, before closing it, and then opened it again. "You doing your best fish impersonation? You really do want to be a male anglerfish, don't you?" He asked with a cheeky grin, and Lucifer finally got the chance to see his name tag.

Adam. Yeah, he looked like an Adam.

"Well, you know," Lucifer laughed nervously, maybe a little too enthusiastically, but he had a hard time gauging that sort of thing. "Why don't you like penguins?"

"The stink, and they're fucking sociopaths, like they're tiny demons. Everyone goes, oh they're so cute, oh look at the gay penguins, aren't they great? No, they're awful. Worse than dolphins. You know what necrophilia is?" Lucifer regretfully nodded his head, grimace spreading across his face.

"Like I said," Adam said with a huff, looking back over at the birds. "I don't like penguins."

"Reasonable," Lucifer said in a slightly higher tone, growing more aware the man was just... There. Standing next to him. No one else was around. Sure, maybe he was an employee talking to a client, but it didn't seem like that was it. "Do you like any birds, or is your thing just...fish?"

"Swans are cool," Adam said, glancing at him. "They are super loyal, they mate for life, and they're giant vicious shits."

"I like ducks," Lucifer said plainly, immediately regretting it.

"Don't get me started on ducks," Adam rolled his eyes, before pushing away from the banister. "I'm about to go run the touch tank in the kid's activity reef room, if your kiddo wants to come see. You can touch little rays, starfish, shrimp, sea cucumbers."

"...Sea cucumbers?" Lucifer asked, raising an eyebrow. He'd never heard of them, was that like a sea sponge? But Adam sent him a wicked grin in response to the question, like he'd been hoping Lucifer wouldn't know much about them.

"Yeah, they're long tubes basically, and if you rub them too much and they get overwhelmed, they shoot out their intestines in long white stands." Adam said with a wink, before he walked a few feet away, glancing back at Lucifer with a smirk. "You gunna come, or do you need to latch onto me to keep up?"

"Ha...ha," Lucifer wheezed out, eyes falling to Adam's backside, before Charlie tugged on his jacket.

"Can we go? I want to see the shrimps." Charlie asked, giving her best puppy eyes, which worked instantly of course, Lucifer was a bit of a push over when it came to her.

"Absolutely," Lucifer said, already planning on buying a yearly membership to the aquarium.

amphibia should have been a fun episodic series. there, i said it.

don't get me wrong, i do think that the entire plot was very interesting in concept. and the animation and voice acting definitely upped the quality of the plot (personally, i think Marcy's VA did an phenomenal job in True Colors).

but it's clear that the creators had no direction with this idea. it seems like they wanted to do an episodic series but they saw other kids' shows doing overarching plots and complex characters, so they were like "welp guess we're doing this now".

because there's no way they thought they could end s2 on an extremely traumatizing note, and then go back to wacky hijinks mode in s3. the tonal whiplash was unlike anything i've ever say, i might even say it was worse than the ones in spop.

and i'm sure the executives probably had something to do with this but still, it's not like other disney shows haven't addressed complex issues with the seriousness they deserved.

gravity falls is famous for having received a lot of unnecessary commands from the execs, but its serious episodes were still serious. even if there was. a joke thrown in somewhere, it didn't feel completely out of place like it did in amphibia. like yeah, there were a couple filler episodes after Ford's reveal, but it never seemed to ignore everything that already happened in the plot.

i just think that amphibia would have worked better if it was just the story of a goofy teenager who got trapped in frogland. it feels like the creators were better at writing silly shenanigans and making outdated pop culture references than they were at writing a coherent and interesting overarching plot.

When you peeked out of the window with your boyfriend earlier, it really didn't take much for both of you to feel equally disappointed. Sure, things were great the whole day all the way up until then, but suddenly your date was completely ruined by the pounding rain and bright strokes of lightning hitting your town. A deep sigh was pulled from Renjun's throat.

"I even paid for reservations..." he muttered, entirely dejected. You simply pressed your lips together tightly.

"We can always get it rescheduled, babe, don't worry about it," you replied. You were trying your best to help him feel better about the whole situation, but he still seemed to be—at the very least—quite annoyed about it. He simply turned away from the window and trudged to the brown couch of your living room, plopping down and grasping the remote to turn the television on. It hurt even worse that he couldn't find anything to watch at all, flipping through channel after channel followed by a long list of movies on Netflix he didn't even feel like watching anymore. You decided to sit down next to him and wrap your arms around his, hoping that at least cuddling him could do something.

It didn't take long at all for Renjun to lay his head on yours, which laid on his shoulder. He quirked his lip up in curiosity. "So what should we do then? We didn't really plan for this kinda thing to happen at all," Renjun whispered. A moment of silence passed before your shoulders raised in a gentle shrug as an answer.

"Honestly, I didn't think about that either. Wanna go to the room and get that figured out? Like cuddle or something in the meantime?"

"Sure, I guess. There's not much else to do other than that."

The two of you rose up from the couch, going step-by-step to your room with you in the lead. Most of you thought that Renjun was simply trudging behind you in disappointment or boredom—but there was always that small, small part of you that believed it could be the reason you secretly hoped for. Either way, you reached the bed faster than either of you thought, so there wouldn't be much time for it to continue anyway.

Renjun flopped onto the bed, followed by you, and you grabbed one of his arms as they crossed over his chest. You placed a tiny kiss on his neck, which made a quick shiver pass through him. Your eyes closed lightly.

"The rain is actually kind of nice to listen to, isn't it?" you asked. He nodded quietly. Silence passed between the two of you before he decided to strike into it with something you definitely weren't expecting to hear at all, especially from someone like your calm boyfriend.

"So I just remembered that there's something I've been wanting to try with you recently," Renjun mumbled, "and I wanted to ask if you wanted to try it too. Wanna see what it is?"

Your eyes shot open in curiosity. What the hell was he talking about? "Uh, sure, I guess."

He raised from the bed with a smirk on his face. You wondered what the smirk was about, but the thought simply passed away the longer you listened to the cooling sound of the storm continuing outside. It made you close your eyes again as he dug into a bag you noticed lying in the corner earlier. Yeah, you didn't know what was in it, but at least you were getting to see what's in it now. What you weren't expecting was for Renjun to come back with a smooth black rope bundle in one of his hands. The smirk still hadn't moved away.

"You know exactly what I'm about to ask you, Y/N."

Deep down, you definitely knew exactly what he was about to ask you. The even better thing is that, since you were aiming to ask him about this same thing for quite a while, you already knew your answer was going to be yes. Fuck yes, even.

"Renjun?"

"Yeah?"

"If you don't have me completely sealed in that in the next fifteen minutes, this night is going to become a battle."

"Oh really?" Renjun leaned in closer, gently putting his free hand on your chin and pulling you to him slowly. "Is that what my sweetheart wants? I never knew you'd be like this too; what a nice little thing to learn about you."

Goosebumps began spreading across your skin as he slowly unwrapped the bundle. His sharp eyes moved up to meet yours, and immediately you knew where this was headed. Maybe tonight wouldn't be too boring after all.

"Get undressed now. I want you on your knees before I'm done here," he ordered, continuing to move the rope at a pace you hoped would let you remove everything on time. You shot up, immediately ripping off all the clothing you could and pressing yourself to your knees on the mattress just as he finished with the bundle. His eyebrows raised and he chuckled. “I wasn’t expecting you to get that done so fast. You must be really excited for this, huh?”

You simply nodded, gazing into his eyes while he moved forward, gripping your wrists and pulling them behind your back. The rope was surprisingly soft around your arms, slowly pulling tighter and tighter around them as Renjun tethered you. Excitement ran through you as he finished, leaning back to face you again. He placed a small, hot kiss on your lips, making you want more and more until he pulled away. You didn’t even notice yourself trying to follow him when he pulled away until a hand landed on your chest, pushing you back a little bit.

“Look at you, wanting so much already,” Renjun joked, “but you’re not really ready for what we’re about to do here.” He pushed you back so you laid flat on the bed, head facing the ceiling as you wondered what he meant by that statement. You didn’t have to wonder for too long, however, as you felt his finger tease your clit, rubbing slow circles onto it and making you gasp.

Heat flowed through you almost immediately when he began, and hearing him chuckle at your response only made it flare up more and more. “You’re already so wet, sweetheart, how did you get there so fast?” he teased. I thought 'oh shit is that for me?' so I go up there and OH SHIT THAT WAS FOR ME; there was my name on it (although it's more important f my ig handle but yk) and there was infact Karkat drawn there. So I take this note and not only they drew Karkat and Nepeta BUT THEY ALSO MADE A TROLL SONA FOR ME WHICH WAS SO FUCKING WHOLESOME. so I contacted them later through ig and we talked for some time and bonded over our hatred for Vriska lol. anyway I actually met them for first time today (the day I'm typing it) and they are really coo, I showed them where the artist with Homestuck merch was :33

So first of all definitely the plot since it's a common knowledge a lot of fans have problems with understanding it first read (but I understood it completely first read!!!! >:)) and second the characters and dynamics between them (because some of you are really missing a lot of points in them.............)

He could barely even run a mile without feeling like he was going to keel over. Which... was a strange thing for someone as athletic as Milo. "I was somewhere just over six minutes back in May. I was really pushing to try and get under. Now.. If I even get to a mile I'm pushing like ten minutes now." He admitted with a sigh, prodding at the bowl before he shrugged. I've been thinking a lot about how Rook's reunion with his former mentor, Zara, is going to go, and since I can't predict what the DM is going to have her do or say, I can only dwell on what I know is going to happen. Which happens to include taking off the illusion ring that's been hiding his injuries from her. So have a snippet of the description I have planned for that moment:

He hesitates, twisting a ring on his finger. Looking at it more closely, she can tell it’s very finely crafted, and must have been very expensive. A large emerald is set into the band. Rook sighs, and pulls the ring off his finger in one quick motion.  Immediately she’s struck by the difference in his appearance as the illusion melts away. He looks awful. His warm, healthy skin fades to a dull and sickly grey. There’s huge bags under his deeply sunken eyes, and his cheeks are hollowed, as though they have been carved out by an overeager sculptor. He looks like he’s recently risen from the grave.  While he was thin before, now she can see his ribs under the skin, and his collarbones are exaggeratedly pronounce. Thin white lines left by dozens upon dozens of recently healed cuts are scattered across his body. On top of that, faded bruises cover most of his visible skin, a mottled mosaic of purple and yellow. They’re clearly days, maybe weeks old, and she can only begin to imagine what they must have looked like when fresh. Bandages are barely visible under his shirt, wrapping around his back, hinting at even more injuries.

feels like the isolation is a gushing wound and going to the centre is just a small bandage. i think perhaps i am not really ever going to feel okay unless something miraculous happens. i am retaining some semblance of sanity now that I'm leaving the house and socializing with non-family more than once a week, but i am still hurting more than I can really tolerate and I don't know what to do about it. there doesn't seem to be a fix for this that I can enact.
