My Review of Pokemon Sun & Moon

Hi all. Sorry for the delay on this one. I usually go all-out on my Pokemon reviews that I wanted to let out everything I wanted to. Plus I had real-life work and other stuff. With that said, hereâs my final review of 2019 as well as the final review of the decade. See you in 2020!

As Ash mentioned at the end of XY, Ash said he was going back home to Pallet Town and âstart at zeroâ. This means when he decides to go on his journey, he leaves all of his other pokemon at Oakâs lab and goes on a new journey with Pikachu. But unlike the start of other journeys, this one started with Ashâs mom, Delia and her pokemon Mimie winning a contest which resulted in a trip to the Alola region. And since they were heading that way, Professor Oak asks them to bring a pokemon egg to his cousin in Alola. So letâs begin with Ashâs adventure in the Alola region.
The Alola region is split into four different islands. Each of these islands contains trial captains, island challenges, pokemon of different forms, and pokemon guardians! But unlike the game, Ash ends up in the Alola region to go to school. Thatâs right, after being the envy of every child for the last 20 years, Ash must go to school. In this school, Ash will learn all he needs to when it comes to living in the Alola region. Along with new friends, a helpful professor, a Rotom Pokedex, an enthusiastic Oak that does impressions, and a special bracelet capable of unleashing powerful Z-moves, Ashâs journey is getting very interesting.
MEET THE CHARACTERS: This seriously has got to be the biggest ensemble for Ashâs posse. Each character has their own unique charm and their own speciality when it comes to their pokemon type preference (and their hairstyle will say so too). At the beginning, I was just okay on some of these characters, but I have definitely enjoyed watching them evolve. Here are all of Ashâs new classmates, professor, Pokedex and a brand-new Oak.

Mallow is a very cheerful girl with the love of grass-types and cooking specialty dishes for friends and pokemon. While some of her dishes can be a little surprising, even shocking, she has a knack for using only the freshest ingredients, mostly coming from wild pokemon.
Lana has a passion for the water and yes, even water-type pokemon. Sheâs quite soft spoken and spends a lot of her days fishing. She may even look into becoming a fisher like her father. But she does have an edge that makes her and her Popplio tough to beat. Not to mention, quite the sense of humor! She also takes care of her two younger sisters Sarah and Harper.

Kiawe is very handy in a battle with his fire-type pals. Unlike the other students in the class, heâs been given a Z-ring first as he has attempted the Island Challenge. Because of this, heâs rather high-strong about those who own a Z-ring. His days start early in the morning with delivering MooMoo Milk, then he goes to class, then comes home to take care of the farm pokemon, and letâs not forget all that training with Charizard and Turtenator!

Sophocles is what youâd call a computer nerd (yeah, we have another one). Heâs able to handle any electrical error that comes his way with the help of either Togedamaru or Charjabug. The only thing heâs unable to challenge is sleeping in the dark!

Lillie is the mysterious girl with no pokemon (at first) and seems to get scared by them real easily. However, she knows quite a bit about pokemon without having physical contact with them. Luckily, Lillie lets her guard down later in the series when she gets the opportunity to take care of an egg. And when it hatched, she kept it. Other pokemon, it still takes her a while to open up to them, but when she does open up, itâs adorable!

Professor Six-Pack is too hot (hot damn)! Call the police and the fireman!
FINE, IâLL DO THE RIGHT THING!
Professor Kukui is the teacher to these fine pupils and has even allowed Ash to stay with him while Ash attends school. He seems a little laid back at first glance, but he does take special care into each and every lesson he gives his students.

Rotomdex is the talking Pokedex for Ash. Unlike all the other Pokedexes up to this point, this one can actually carry on a conversation with Ash. Not just that, but come up with strategies, watch detective shows on TV, and even write screenplays. Itâs amazing how so much can come from a fushion between a Rotom and a regular pokedex!

Principal OakâŠOkay, no, I canât do that! Over 10 years ago, I wrote a fan fic called Romance 101. And I spent a good five years writing the words âPrincipal Oakâ because thatâs what I called Samuel Oak. This Principal Oak is just giving me vivid flashbacks.
âŠfine Principal SAMSON Oak is of course the principal to the Pokemon School. This Oak is a much tanner, buffer, and at times sillier man when you compare him to the original Professor Oak. He really loves doing pokemon impressions. And much like Professor Oakâs poems, Samson Oakâs jokes goes over a lot of peopleâs heads.
BETWEEN THE SUB AND THE DUB: With the exception of Kiawe, Rotomdex, and Samson Oakâs voice actors, this is literally a brand new experience for most of these new characters. And I gotta say, I hope these voice actors get more attention. I know Reina Ueda (Mallow) has been getting a lot more roles in the last three years and I love that. The Pokemon anime has had quite a history of either getting very prominent voice actors or voice actors who arenât known for much else. But I do hope for more exposure for Lana, Sophocles, and Professor Kukuiâs seiyuus. Extra points for having Nobuhiko Okamoto play Gladion!
Iâll mention more later in the review but due to the death of a very, very, VERY prominent voice actor, there was a major change. With the passing of Unshou Ishizuka, there were three important characters that had to be changed; Professor Oak, Samson Oak, and the Narrator. I started noticing the lack of these three (yes, even the narrator) in episodes prior to Ishizukaâs death. If we go several episodes without one of the Oakâs, itâs not a big deal. But the fact that the narrator wasnât heard before the start of the show or at the end for several episodes at a time, it felt very weird. But after hearing about how Unshou Ishizuka died of Esophageal cancer, I canât help but think he was doing treatments during the Aether Foundation arc. His replacement, Kenyu Horiuchi is not bad. But after listening to Ishizuka sinceâŠwell at least two decades, itâs very noticeable.
The dub once again is putting hope in brand new voice actors and even a few veterans from the XY series. And so far, this is very promising since they casted Alsyon Leigh Rosenfield. However, one prominent voice actor who has been around for a LONG time has retired. Kayzie Rodgers, the replacement voice of Max and Wobbuffet (and long-time voice to Mr. Mime and Professor Ivy) has retired at the beginning of SM (2016). I can honestly say, I will miss hearing her voice. Out of all the dub changes, you were one of a few I accepted. That and I will always remember you as Professor Ivy and Mimie! With that said, hereâs what you might recognize these folks from.

FAVORITE CHARACTER: PokemonâŠwhy do you keep doing this to me? Do you want me to lose what little faith I hold onto?
With that said, this season has given me a âbest girlâ. Yes, the term âbest girlâ is given to theâŠwell, you know, the best girl of the series. And ever since the creators decided to shake things up by giving Ash a new female companion every couple of years, fans have fought to the death on who is best girl of Pokemon. For me, my best girls of Pokemon were Prima, Zoey, Blue/Leaf Green, and Bonnie. But there are just a few problems there. None of them are Ashâs piece of arm candy! And thereâs some unwritten law that it has to be the possible love interest like Misty, Dawn, or Blushy McIdiot. And my best girls have either been in only one episode of the anime, was just a rival to someone who isnât Ash, a girl who was never in the anime, and too young. BUTâŠSun and Moon did it! It frigginâ did it! It gave me a best girl! And that girl isâŠ
LANAAAAAAAA!
I never tire of that Archer joke! But yes, Lana is best girl.

I knew I was going to like her when she first debuted, but I had no idea how awesome she was going to truly be. Is it her prankish nature? Maybe! Is it this creepy yandere vibe I get off from her every now and then? Possibly! Is it the way Iâve seen her grow as a trainer throughout this series. You fucking bet! Lana at one point seemed like the one character who wasnât getting much growth when it came to catching and evolving pokemon. Then again, everyone (including Ash) gave me that impression compared to other arcs. But then she caught the shaggy Eevee! Serious wild card! No one expected Lana to catch Eevee. And then thereâs Popplio. She and Popplio trained like crazy later in the series and it shows when it evolved into Brionne and eventually into Primarina. ESPECIALLY WHEN PRIMARINA EVOLVED! Did you see Lana and Brionne going toe-to-toe with that Kyogre? That was epically awesome!
Plus, she was like the only female in God-knows how long to reach the top 8 in the Pokemon League.
DISLIKED CHARACTER: My tolerance has taken a slight dip because there are three people I feel should be up here!

First, I would like to put up Cross from the 20th movie, I Choose You. I know that he isnât in the actual SM series, but Iâm putting him up here because I just downright hate him. He is on Damien levels of shit. Thatâs how much I hate the son of a bitch. He could cure cancer, kick Donald Trump in the crotch, and bring peace in the Middle East and I would still hate him. Cross was like a very bad combination of Damien and Paul. Abandons a pokemon the same way as Damien and shows this power assholeness that Paul has. But add to that, a bit of a cruel edge to him and sprinkle a bit of whiny little bitch on that. He has to hold a grudge against Ash in this movie because he was blessed with Ho-ohâs feather, but when he saw Ho-oh, he got nothing. Oh boo-freakin-hoo! Cry me a river!

NextâŠFaba! You fucking testicle! Heads up, I like calling Faba a testicle! When I first saw him, I thought that Lusamine was gonna be the one to hate because of the game setup. But this anime just proves how much Lusamine loves both of her children. The same canât be said about Faba! At first, I thought Faba would be like Colress in a wayâŠcreepy how they almost look and act the same. But then his true side started to show. Oh, this guy wants them Ultra Beasts. And will not let anyone get in his way. Not little children, not birds suffering from Insomnia, not Team Rocket, not even his bossâs child! This greedy sonuvabitch is literally the reason why Lillie was afraid of pokemon and re-triggered it AGAIN thanks to UB Nihilgo. Yeah, fuck you Testicle!
Now after that incident, Testicle was demoted and serves under Wicke and Clefable (which is literally the best thing I could ever ask for). And in most scenarios where heâs shown, Faba was silly with his fanboy obsession with the Masked Royal or his stupid experiment shrinks the kids. So other than him being a dumbass nothing too damning! That was until the Pokemon League where he decided to play dirty by having his Hypno bring out Ashâs Meltan instead of going up against Pikachu. Iâm glad he got beat within less than 2 minutes because this testicle needs to shrivel up now.
Who else?

Viren! I canât help but think heâs this animeâs answer to Donald Trump. But I hate both of them so thatâs a start! I could let things slide with him just being there for one episode where heâs trying to buy out Kiaweâs familyâs farm and be done with it. BUT NO! This sonuvabitch has gotta wear out his welcome by showing up another three or four times doing that same shit! And even his very first episode where he uses illegal tactics to get Rango and Simaâs farm was warrant enough to hate this fucker. I just thought he would just be a one-and-done character much like the Mayor of Trovitopolis (OI episode). Aggrivating to say, this dickhead came back numerous times to do more shady-ass shit. And I hope to Arceus I never see him again!
AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT: Kiawe and Lanaâs mothers are total milfs.

DONâT ACT LIKE IâM THE ONLY ONE HERE! Kiaweâs mama, hell yeah total milf! Lanaâs mother, I ended up having a lesbian dream about her and she became a milf.
Hey, usually Iâm straighter than a honeymoon dick. But sometimes I peak over and can easily say that Sima and Lanaâs mother are Mothers I Like to Fantasize about. Again, in the words of Forky, âIâm Trashâ!
SHIPPING: OkayâŠletâs have some fun with this one. This is less vomit inducing than XY. Just keep that bitch in Hoenn for as long as it takes. I donât want to see her for a long time.

Ash x Lillie: I honestly think this is rather cute. Ash is one of the very few whoâs been able to help Lillie with her poke-phobia. Though this ship isnât heavily pushed on us like a certain OTHER ship that just wonât DIE. I swear Amour is like the herpes. I really canât say thereâs much romance here. Although her goodbye to Ash was just honest-to-God cute! Now if there was one Ash ship that caused some sort of blushing, it would have to go toâŠ

Ash x Lana: Whenever she could, Lana would drag Ash along with her. Whether itâs looking for a missing pokemon or on the hunt for a legendary pokemon in the water, she would take Ash by the arm and take him by force. However, none of this was romantically motivated. The only thing worth mentioning was her tsundere way of blushing and brushing off romance when her sisters pester if Ash is her boyfriend.

Mallow x Lillie: This was my OTP to be perfectly honest. While Ash was the actual first person to nudge Lillie to help her with pokemon, Mallow was like the best friend of Lillieâs. She would always show concern for her. I know this is more big sister syndrome, but Iâll still ship it. I never thought anything would happen until the episode where the class puts on a play and I see Mallow and Lillie dressed like Utena and Anthy from Revolutionary Girl Utena. To which I said, âHOLY SHIT, THIS IS AWESOME-BALLSâ! Pokemon, are you trying to tell us something with this? You trying to tell us something with this clear and direct reference to one of animeâs famous Yuri couples?

Kukui x Burnet: THIS SHIP HAS SAILED! Iâm actually surprised how fast this ship was. I know theyâre married in all four games, but in the anime it seemed like they didnât know each other that well prior to Burnetâs first appearance. And anime wise, they only spent 11 episodes with each other. And on the 11th episode not only did Kukui propose to Burnet with a ring, but they freakinâ got married! I guess there are such things as love at first sight. Kukui wanted it and put a ring on it. Thereâs a real man, yo! Now, he does lose some points here as he does lead that double life as the Masked Royal where he keeps it a secret from everyone, including his fangirl of a wife. But once she knew, she let him off the hook. And you know how much this ship is cemented? Watch the last 30 seconds of the final episode! Itâll blow your socks off!
On a side note, the way Kukui proposed to BurnetâŠBEST FUCKING PROPOSAL!

Nurse Joy x Officer Jenny: Amazing, it has taken over 20 years for anyone to think this is even humanly possible. But in Alola, thereâs a Nurse Joy and an Officer Jenny that are constantly together. Maybe itâs because I hang out on Tumblr a little too much that it gets implied a lot, but I canât help but have a guilty pleasure for this.

Pokeshipping: AAAAAAH! Yeah, Medea has to bring this old war back. Okay, okay, I wonât be long here. Just to let you know that Iâm a fan of this ship, especially back in the day. As for Sun & Moon, at least we donât see that classic tsundere syndrome Misty is known for. But she still cutefully teases Ash about several things from the past including the broken bike and their past gym battle. To add to this, Misty (and to lesser extent Brock) were the only ones from Ashâs past companions to see him this region...much to my dismay!

Brock x Olivia: Holy crap! Did Brock seriously get lucky? Is this it? Is this the woman to finally fulfill this pervy breeder/doctor? To me, it just feels like just another day in the life of Brockâs love life. However he has done his research of Olivia that makes me think heâs dead serious about herâŠI just think itâs a creative way to say heâs in the early stages of stalking. But nothing else came from it after Brock (literally) proposed marriage to her and joined in doing a Z-move with her. Then again, Brock does get a lucky break with at least one lady in each region. Sadly, thatâll probably be the end of that much like Professor Ivy, Pike Queen Lucy, Holly, and Autumn.

Ash x Gladion: Guilty pleasureâŠis it wrong that I want these two to dress up like Yuri and Yurio from Yuri on Ice. No, didnât think so! Not sorry for that image!

ANIMATION: Iâm sorry, I canât stay quiet about this like most of the other fans of the show. What the hell were they thinking? This is not supposed to be One Piece. This is not supposed to that Rock Lee spin-off. This is Pokemon. Poke-fucking-mon! Ash went backwards on the evolutionary chart. And people have nerve to go off on the BW series for giving him wider pupils and a mediocre outfit. You people owe the animators for BW a fucking apology for one! Ashâs design now looks like heâs cosplaying to be Monkey D. Luffyâs retarded cousin. Even my own mother, who watches one episode once every couple of months commented to say Ash looks stupid. Thank you!
SADDEST MOMENT: Itâs been a good while since Iâve had a Pokemon episode touch me to a point of almost crying. Close, but the Misty/Togetic goodbye still has it beat (which was then beaten by an episode of Violet EvergardenâŠDammit 2019!). And even then, the touching moments in Pokemon would be because someone of the main cast released their pokemon like Ash releasing Charizard, Jessie releasing Dustox, and OH MY GOD, NO! ENOUGH WITH THE SAD TOGETIC SCENE! But that was just it, at least no one died!
âŠUntil now! Thatâs right, deaths were usually only a movie thing as we saw in the fifth movie with Latios. But in the last three years, Pokemon got a little dark in both the anime and the movie trilogies. The 20th movie we saw a Luxray freeze to death, the 21st movie we saw a Snubbull burn to death, and because the 22nd movie is a rehash of the very first movie, weâre going to relive Ash dying.

The SM anime did a few things we havenât seen in the Pokemon anime before. In the early episodes of SM, we were introduced to Litten and watched a very sad episode dealing with death. Before Litten joined Ash, it lived on the streets with a very old Stoutland. Now think of every sad animal movie youâve ever seen and youâll have your answer of what happens to Stoutland by the end of the episode. They donât show Stoutlandâs death on screen, but we know. This episode was very clever at tackling the death topic on a kidâs anime. And up to this point I thought this episode was going to take the cake in the sad department. Boy was I wrong!

The 108th episode of SM gave us one hell of a tear-jerker and it almost got me. It almost got me! We learn in this episode that Mallow had a mother. And this is a first because no one in any of the main cast talked about a dead parent before this episode! We learn about Mallowâs mother being sick a lot and it caused a rift between the two. Especially when Mallow snaps at her mother because all she does is apologize for not being there. Unfortunately that exchange was the last time she ever spoke to her. Where does the sad part get heavy? Here!
While everyone was on Poni Island, we hear about how Tapu Fini is able to communicate with the dead. And among some of the dead we saw Hapuâs grandfather, Kiaweâs grandfather, and Stoutland. But in the mist, Mallow came across her mother. And that one moment where she finally can see her mother after so many years! She breaks down and cries. She apologizes for the horrible things she said as a kid to her. But those sorrys turn into thank yous. She thanks her mother for what sheâs done, thanked her for being her mother! God damn it, this is now #2 in saddest Pokemon moments. The second I saw this I thought it was going to make me ugly cry and trounce all over the Misty/Togetic moment. To my surprise, it didnât. But came super close!
In short, Mallow seeing her mother againâŠthis moment! Feels! Fucking feels!
COMEBACK: I have pretty much given up on people from the previous series to pay Ash a visit in the newest region. After XY where we didnât get a single sighting of Iris and Cilan getting shafted to an episode that they didnât even bother giving an English dub, I just gave up. But that doesnât mean we didnât get characters who âcame backâ.

In SM, there were two times where we got a blast from the past. In two episodes we had Ash, Kukui, and the class make a trip to Kanto where (thatâs right) we get to see Professor Oak, Delia, Misty, and Brock again. Not only that but we get two more episodes where Misty and Brock come to Alola!
As much as I love MistyâŠand tolerâŠate Brock, many other characters are overdue for a get-together with Ash. If you want me to be blunt, May, Iris, and Tracey are the only ones who should get attention and everyone else needs to FUCK OFF. Thatâs right, we donât need to see Brock hit on more whores of the day. No more fishing competitions for Dento-fruit (much as I love him). Blushy McIdiot, Dingus, and Bonnie can go fuck off! And that goes double for Dawn!
Shit Medea, that was cruel.
Yeah it was cruel and Iâll continue to do so. Itâs been 11 years since May was last seen/heard. Iris got royally butt-fucked by everything in the anime. And as for Tracey, I donât owe you pissants a fucking explanation. Tracey deserves better! Speaking ofâŠ
AN UNFORTUNATE THEORY: With the comebacks of Misty and Brock, Tracey has just been NOT THERE! They go to Oakâs lab and he isnât there. Not even mentioned. Not a word about him. When Ash calls Professor Oak randomly, Oak is there and even Muk, but no Tracey. When Ash asks Misty and Brock about back home, they donât mention TraceyâŠwhich is to be expected since they have to talk about their siblings, but still.

Pokemon doing anything island adventure wise kinda comes with a mixed bag. The Orange Islands came with immediate hate because loyal Brock fans are ass-hurt about Traceyâs existence. The Sevii Islands were a bust during the FR/LG games. And the less mentioned about Decalore Island in the BW anime, the better. But when they decided to do Alola, fans caught on quite quickly with some comparisons to the Orange Island anime portion.
Unlike all the other gyms in other regions, Alola had four grand trials/leaders. Orange Islands had the Orange Crew, which was essentially four gym leaders. Both the trials and the crew had Ash do different tasks before an actual battle. Next, pokemon with different colors/forms! In the early episodes of the Orange Islands, we saw pokemon just a smide different from their normal looks. We saw Vileplume with a different flower pattern, other pokemon with a different shade of color to them, and interesting designs on Butterfree. In Alola, they expaneded on that by giving âAlolan formsâ to pokemon like Meowth, Diglett, Exeggutor, Marowak, and even Raichu! I do love Alolan Raichu! However, the pokemon that had small changes in the Orange Islands were not brought to the Alolan table. So maybe Orange Islands and Alola are in far different parts of the world.
Where my theory goes from here is that I think Pokemon really wants to pretend the Orange Islands never happened. That means the gym battles, the special pokemon, and yes, even Tracey. Thatâs the only way to explain why no one has mentioned him even when weâre standing in Professor Oakâs fucking lab! I hate to be blunt and say something so horrible, but every time I watch SM, it really does feel like that. Yes, I admit it, the Orange Islands were just filler until Ash and crew could go to Johto. First of all, it exists. No matter how much you try to white-wash us with Alolan features, the Orange Islands was a thing. And it was a great thing! Ash was in his first six-on-six match (and won), Ashâs first double battle happened here, and stellar episodes like Pikachu Re-volts and Tracey Gets Bugged should not be cast aside. Those were all great! Pokemon, you cannot run from your past! You can improve upon it, yes. But never forget! These were a thing! These were great things!
Thankfully, my death theory was put to rest in the first episode of Pokemon 2019 when the Orange Island trophy was shown. Thatâs great, now whereâs Tracey?
Another theory! They couldnât get Tomokazu Seki. That could also be it!

RUNNING GAG: We got two running gags throughout the SM series! First, thereâs the return of that singing ball of pink, Jigglypuff! This little singer has not been seen or heard from since AG. Thatâs well over a decade, people. WellâŠwhen Ash and crew visited Kanto, they ran into Jigglypuff and by sheer coincidence, wound up riding the airplane back to Alola. So now we see it every now and then in Alola, singing in a Karaoke bar.

And the otherâŠBewear! It hasnât been officially caught by Team Rocket. They donât use it in a battle. But Bewear has literally made it impossible for Team Rocket to BLAST OFF ever again. Their life-long running gag died the minute they fell into Bewearâs meaty arms.
Also it doesnât help that I constantly scream âKUMA SHOCKâ every time it comes to collect Team Rocket. Anyone who gets that reference deserves a high five!
BANNED IN THE USA: Welcome back, banishment! I knew you couldnât stay away for long as we do live in a SJW/PC time. So what episode never got to see the light of day in the U.S.?

This oneâŠyeah, I can totally agree with. So in the U.S. there is indeed ONE episode we were not given. In this episode, Ash decides to help a group of Passimian. And throughout the majority of the episode, Ash is dressed up like a Passimian from the pajamas to theâŠOH MY! I actually let it slide when I saw the Japanese viewing (because Iâm half-awake at 2am), but I can definitely see why this one would ruffle a few feathers. Letâs just say Ashâs costume was a little too borderline blackface and thatâs why itâll never air in the states.

Anything else!? Not in terms of full episodes. Certain scenes, absolutely! Little baby things were edited due to being not kid-friendly. Whatâs in those drinks Kukui and Burnet are drinking out of at their own wedding? Champagne? Blasphemy! Thatâs Orange Juice now! Whatâs in Deliaâs drink in the first episode? Oh we canât have her pull a Miriam Pataki here! Turn that shit into Pinap Juice! Okay, besides the censorship of drinks, was there anything else? Why, yes, yes there was!

We all know how creepy Team Rocketâs Mimikyu can be. Thatâs why itâs placed in my top 10 list of characters that scare the shit outta me! Well one scene had Mimikyuâs shadow scare Meowth so horribly, the next scene had Meowth DEAD! Face down in the water! Donât worry kids, Meowth comes back to life. The U.S. said âOH HELL NO WE CANâT SHOW THIS! FUCK IS WRONG WITH JAPAN!â And so the face down scene was completely chopped from the dub. Add to that, there were several instances where Meowth almost dies and parts of those scenes are cut from American broadcast.
REFERENCES: If there was one thing this new animation has given us, it has open the doors to using references from other animes and even a few western media projects. And we havenât really seen much of this since the original series and AG. And even back then, it was mostly just Rose of Versailles references with Team Rocket. I know I give the animation flack for it being a pile of shit compared to better animation shown in XY and DP. But I think the animators do have a little more fun when doing Sun and Moon. And I think itâs loosened them to using other animation styles seen in different and popular animes.

And boy did SM use a butt-load of anime references! Hereâs a list of what I was able to remember!
*Facial expressions matching those scene in JoJoâs Bizarre Adventure in several episodes *A Mr. Osomatsu reference tossed somewhere *Ping Pong the Animation being used when Illma entered in the Ping Pong competition *Kiawe doing the famous Gendo Ikari pose from Neon Genesis Evangelion in the same episode mentioned above. *Ash and Kiawe making the scary, demonic face Popuko makes when sheâs mad on Pop Team Epic, when the two missed out on catching a UB Pokemon. *Transformation scenes with Ash and crew that match those of Power Rangers or every magical girl show. *The girl with many Pikachus has one Pikachu with hair like Boruto (Naruto Uzamakiâs son) *Ash and Pikachu looking like theyâre doing the Kamehameha attack during their league match (DBZ, duh) *Rotomdex mentioning it wants to do a sci-fi feature and the image strikes a chord with Star Wars fans everywhere. *Lillie dressed like Utena. Mallow dressed like the rose princess, Anthy. HOLY SHIT, MY OTP IS DOING A REVOLUTIONARY GIRL UTENA REFERENCE! Take my revolution!

And the mother of all references goes to Jessie! Or should I say, her seiyuu Megumi Hayashibara! Pokemon animated many of her iconic roles in one epic scene. Just to name a few of Hayashibaraâs roles shown there was Ranma Saotome (Ranma Âœ) Rei Ayanami (Evangelion), White Kitty (Hello Kitty), Faye Valentine (Cowboy Bebop), and everyoneâs favorite Lina Inverse (Slayers). At least in the English dub, Lisa Ortiz popped in for the Lina Inverse moment! Epic on epic on epicly God levels of YES!
MUSIC: Okay in recent years, the English openings have gotten tolerable and the same can be said about the opening themes used this time around. So I wonât bitch about that. So how about I bitch about the BGM?!
Background music, I know a lot of complaints are expressed by loyal Japanese version fans that the English version has completely changed the BGM throughout most of the episodes and even the motion pictures! Yeah, in the I Choose You movie only ONE original BGM was used. The BGM topic never really got to me. But if I remember correctly when 4Kids lost rights to Pokemon and went to the new company, they said that they were going to keep a lot of things true and the BGM was one of them. Yeah, that went to the waist-side real fast! I do believe that they listened to that complaint because in the following movie, the entire score was kept (with the exception of the ED theme by Porno Graffitti).
The Japanese openingsâŠI used to like Alola by Rica Matsumoto. YeahâŠused to. Okay, thatâs too mean. I donât hate it on the lengths of V(Volt) from the previous series. Itâs just that they used this song in certain scenes that took me out of liking it fully. Now anytime I hear Alola, all I can think about is Ash, Litten, Pikachu, and Rockruff wiggling their asses. Some of the other openings were just okay, I wasnât too thrilled about them. But there was another thing I feel I should bring up.
Just like the English dub to XY, they wanted to capture a nostalgic feel to the general audience watching, Sun and Moon gave us some of that here. Because of the release of the 20th movie, Rica Matsumoto ended up singing her signature Mezase Pokemon Master again. And as a result, it was the showâs opening for quite some time. Not only that but the last ending theme to Sun and Moon was a cover of Ricaâs other hit song Type Wild (now sung by Shoko Nakagawa).
MOVIES: The movies have taken a different turn from what weâve seen previously. Letâs face it folks, the 10 movies that came out prior to these last three were average AT BEST. And with many other series doing reboots to their old classics, I guess Pokemon decided to do it on a large scale when it came to the story of Ash and Pikachu. With all new animation and a new story, we follow Ash and Pikachu in a much different take on their journey. A much faster-paced story where Ash doesnât have much of the filler stuff and doesnât travel with Misty, Brock, or the rest! To which I say, good! I know it means the Sun & Moon gang will never be in a movie, but it also means that animation wonât be there either.

I Choose You was the first movie and from the get-go, fans were upset over seeing a reboot of Ashâs beginning journey with Pikachu and not seeing Misty or Brock. Instead we get a kind of condensed version of certain moments of Ashâs original journey, mixed with new material and get introduced to new characters (who come from Sinnoh of all places). The pokemon featured was Ho-oh, who after all this time was going to be featured in a film and Marshadow because itâs not a pokemon movie without featuring a brand-new pokemon from this era.

The Power of Us, Ash ends up on an island where he meets several new characters who each have their own story to tell including a high school girl, a shy scientist, a pathological liar, an old woman who hates pokemon, and the daughter of the mayor. And we are introduced to another new pokemon, Zeroroa. All five characters (plus Ash) are put through their own trials and tribulations in order to save their town during a festival.

Mewtwo Strikes Back EVOLUTION: Itâs the first movieâŠin CGI/3D/Robot-Chicken-ized, whatever! Thereâs no need for a synopsis since everybody and their mother knows this story. Itâs literally the same story as Mewtwo Strikes Back. Ash and company get invited to an island, Mewtwo causes storms and clones to mess with the people, Mew appears, Pokemon fight, Ash dies, Ash doesnât die, Mewtwo says profound speech that even Jon Stewart praises, everyoneâs minds are erased, and thatâs all! They even got the original cast to come back and reused Unshou Ishizukaâs old footage as the narrator for this movie!
The thing about this last movie is that, The Pokemon Company dropped the ball on this. SEVERELY dropped the ball on this! They had the perfect setup, the perfect opportunity to get this in the theaters just in time for the 20th anniversary of the first movieâs release in the U.S. and they do jackshit with it! Not even on Disney XD. For shame!
I will say that these three are a SEVERE improvement on the Pokemon movies. Can anyone with full honesty say that any pokemon movie that came out after the Lucario movie that any of the others were even good? Be honest, almost every movie since AG was just essentially a long side-story with an annoying mythical/legendary that can talk. It got annoying! Plus it just felt like Ash and whoever he was with would just be dragged in the middle of some bullshit and have to save the day. It was fine in the first couple of movies, but the pattern got worn out.
Plus with this alternate timeline to the Pokemon story, it gave the Sun and Moon anime more to work with legendaries and mythical pokemon. Hell, all the main cast was able to catch (and later release) an Ultra Beast pokemon. Not only that, but Mallow got to take care of the mythical pokemon Shaymin for over 40 episodes. Donât you wish we got that with May and Manaphy? Plus, Ash got to take care of Cosmog and Poipole for an extended amount of time. Okay, my favorite movie of the three.
I Choose You is my favorite out of the bunch. I loved the retelling of Ash and Pikachu starting out on their very first journey. I love the new path they took with this story. I love the new characters introduced, Verity and Sorrel. I love the pokemon that were shown as it gave us a bit of everything from every region up to this point. Yes it was a cluster-fuck in some portions as I had to see past characters shown way different. Cynthiaâs Verityâs mother! I canât unsee this shit! And I will never unsee the messed-up dream Ash had where he was in actual real-world with no pokemon and in a real school where Iâm given vivid flashbacks of my fanfic. Regardless, I enjoyed this movie so much. And I got to see many things here that I would always imagine would happen in a final episode of Pokemon (where Ash dies, Pikachu speaks, and an epic fight with Ho-oh). It is now my 2nd favorite Pokemon movie.
+1000000000 points for showing Tracey in the ED credits! Medea screeched in the theaters. I apologize for nothing! Best five seconds Iâve had in years.
TEAM ROCKET UPDATE: As this region does not have Pokemon Contests or that tact on Princess crap from Kalos, weâll find our favorite trio (+Wobbuffett) going after the twerps and wandering around the area. And while I do enjoy Jessie dipping her foot in the contest arena, this pace can be boring and a blessing at the same time. Unlike previous seasons, we will go episodes at a time where we donât see Team Rocket. But the episodes where they do show up arenât the most thrilling. Usually theyâll just be in the background serving treats to background characters.

However, one major improvement with Team Rocket this season is with their pokemon. In the past, Team Rocket has had some unique pokemon that theyâve captured (or stolenâŠstill not letting the Yamnega thing go). In Kanto, James had Victreebel that would eat him. In Hoenn, James had Cacnea that would pinch him every time it came out. In Sinnoh, James had Carnevine that would eat himâŠOkay, a lot of it is James torture-porn! Regardless, they were entertaining to watch. And I felt a complete slump with their pokemon during BW and XY. This season, pretty much ALL of Team Rocketâs pokemon are entertaining.

Marenie loves James so much that she would blow off being with her own kind to be with James. Even hearing the sounds of wedding bells every time James asks a favor of her! Itâs actually adorable to watch Marenie. Jessieâs MimikyuâŠIâm almost convinced Mimikyu is the reincarnation of a serial killer. And the biggest pokemon to cause Team Rocket so much grief is one they didnât even catch, but it sticks around to take care of them like they were children, Bewear! And trust me, theyâve tried catching Bewear. And Bewear smushed the pokeball into poke-dust! Bewear would just come right the fuck out of nowhere, defying logic, gravity, and absurdity to bring Team Rocket back to its cave! This, making it the longest period of time where Team Rocket went without blasting off!
Every time they had the twerps cornered, in comes Bewear to take them back! Whenever they were about to do their traditional blast off, Bewear would come in and take them back to the cave! Even when theyâre in fucking Kanto, it managed to swoop in and take them back to the cave. Team Rocket even DEFEATED Ash in a battle and had the perfect opportunity to take the twerpâs Pikachu. But no, Bewear came in and swooped them up! These pokemon were fun to watch this entire series! This was definitely an improvement from the last few seasons. Seriously, I canât even remember what pokemon Jessie and James had during BW!
BIG TEAM BATTLE: Just like in Unova, Team Rocket ended up getting more attention than the antagonists of Alola. Except here, itâs a little more accepting. Itâs just that in Alola, was there really a big team to cause major havoc with world-shaking consequences? Technically, the Aether Foundation wasnât the big bad team and Team Skull was just a bunch of angsty punks. Regardless, there were two arcs with something epic happening.

The first of course was opening the wormhole and discovering the Ultra Beasts. And in almost the same fashion as the game, Lillie and the rest have to go and rescue her mother from the Ultra Beasts (because Lusamine got taken over by one). Only difference is that game Lusamine wanted to use this power. Anime Lusamine pushed her children out of the way so they wouldnât get taken away. We did get some great moments with Ash doing a new Z-move with Pikachu, Nebby evolving, and Lillieâs relationship with her mother become stronger.

The second big battle was with Necrozma. Now this one heavily involved Team Rocket as Giovanni disbatched several other members including his assistant Matori and some eye-patch gorilla to try and get this pokemon. However after this incident, we never see Giovanni try to get his hands on this pokemon again or talk about it again. Even when he makes a big foreshadowy deal when he dialed Nanu about it! But in this arc, a mysterious power throughout Alola was making all of the adults listless and lazy. And it was up to Ash and the other kids to get to the bottom of this strange phenomenom.
ENDING â POKEMON LEAGUE: Yeah, this league was going to be different. In the Alolan League, just about anyone can join this certain Pokemon League, as long as you have a Z-crystal, itâs all good. Well, Alola has never had a Pokemon League, which is sort of like what was in the game. So Professor Kukui decided to put this dream into an action and now Alola will hold its first ever Pokemon League! So expect to see the entire cast compete! Iâm not kidding!
From the get-go I was worried since Ashâs team here in Alola is pitifully underdeveloped compared to past arcs. And if he were to fight, heâd probably lose to Gladion or Guzma! But since the first task was to knock 151 competitors down to 16, we all know Ash was going to survive this trial. Now in past league competitions and even Pokemon Contests, thinning a big number down would take some time like an episode or two. Here, ITâS A FUCKING FREE-FOR-ALL BATTLE! Trainers coming at you from all angles and you can only use one pokemon! Itâs like a mini-game from Mario Party it was that crazy!

The 16 trainers that made the cut are all trainers we know! They all had at least 1 debut episode prior to this moment. So no surprise bastards like Tobias to muck things up! The sixteen competitors are Ash, Mallow, Lillie, Lana, Kiawe, Sophocles, Jessie, James, Faba, Aceorla, Mina, Ilima, Guzma, Hau, Gladion, and Samson Oak! Unbelievable! The entire main cast, Team Rocket, trial people in the games, the head of Team Skull, the island heartthrob, Ashâs two main rivals, and a freakinâ Oak! We could not make this up!
From the Top 8, we wind up with Ash, Guzma, Hau, Gladion, James, Sophocles, Kiawe, and Lana advancing. These next battles had some pretty decent moments including James trying to hold his own against Gladion, Lana and Primarina trying to survive a poisonous dick move from Guzma, and action-packed moments with Kiawe and Sophocles.

âŠ
I donât want to talk about it. NO, I DONâT! NO ONE WANTS TO TALK ABOUT ASHâS BATTLE WITH HAU! First of all, their rivalry only expands to like two episodes. One episode prior to the league and the rest during the league! Youâre just butt-fucking us on this sweet little cinnamon roll. I know the anime really wants to stand out on its own by not giving us awesome rivals that we get in the games like Cheren or Brendan, but God-forbid if you give them some awesome moments before you have them get beaten by Ash and sent back to wherever the fuck they came from! And this battle is just an insult of every level!
I know Ash has been known to pull off some stupid moments in his day when it comes to pokemon battles. Heâd put a clear type-disadvantage against a powerhouse pokemon. Heâd put all his faith in one pokemon and if it failed, absolutely fuck all. And most common of all, have one of his non-evolved pokemon go up against a fully evolved pokemon. We get the latter when Ashâs insomniac-stricken bird, Rowlet, go up against Hauâs fully-evolved Decidueye. But before the battle, we get some last minute training in done by Toucannon and its bird-kin. Youâve got to be the stupidest mother fuâŠForget it, youâre just wasting your breath! Well, itâs because Rowlet is DETERMINED so that gives the green flag to fight in Ash Ketchumâs book.
You stupid fucking idiâŠ
During the fight, Ash and Hau did use their Z-moves early on and both did little to no damage to either one. But itâs freakinâ clear that Hauâs Decidueye is clearly more trained. Thatâs why the two birds duked it out to a point of both of them being close to knocked out. But in the end, Nanu calls the battle for Decidueye because it got up first. AND ASH LOST!
âŠOr did he?

No, upon further inspection, ROWLET WAS FUCKING ASLEEP! God, no! No! Good fucking God, what were you writers thinking? Youâre trolling us again, arenât you? Ever since the Sinnoh League, you thought it was a good idea to troll the fucking audience. Like Tobias having another legendary or Davey winning with a fucking Eevee or Ash losing to Alain. You people are fucking with us!
Long story short, Ash and Rowlet get a second chance. They win the battle. Hau cries. Moving on!
NO, WEâRE NOT MOVING ON FROM THIS SHIT! WHO THE FUCK DECIDED THIS TO HAPPEN?! A lot of us fans are still sore over that retarded call back in the Kanto League where Squirtle falling asleep was a K.O. I canât accept this, not after all the league battles Ash has had before this. Especially the last league against Tierno, Sawyer, and Alain! They are probably watching you and facepalming. Bonnie is laughing at you! Lysandre is calling you a dickhead from beyond the grave! Serena tore up a picture of Ash and went lesbian! Okay, that didnât really happen. But this episode got me so fucking twisted I find myself eating thunder and shitting out lightening.
And now with Lanaâs defeat by Guzma, weâre now in the final four. SoâŠhuhâŠum, new category! I know this is where Iâm supposed to talk about the ending with the league, but I feel like I should talk about this.

GENDER AND LEAGUE PLACEMENT: Is it just me or are most competitors and even winners of these things majority male? Itâs unknown who won the Kanto League. Johto went to some douchebag no one remembers. Hoenn was won by Tyson. Sinnoh went to Trollbias. Unova went to Davey. And Kalos went to NOT ASHâŠAlain! And even in the top 4 and 8 sometimes, itâs all men. I really donât want to put the pussy hat on and claim unfairness to a show Iâve been watching for over 20 years, butâŠputting Lana up against someone we all know is going to go to the semi-finalsâŠcome on man! I probably should have questioned some gender stuff especially with that princess crap in Kalos where it was most, if not all female. But Pokemon Leagues are usually coed! Itâs just that prior to Lana, the only other girls I remember competiting in past leagues were Katie from AG and Astrid from XY. Maybe Iâm making too much out of it.
BACK TO THE LEAGUE: Thankfully the semi-finals fights were great (compared to that bullshit Hau/Ash match I wish would die). Gladion and Kiawe bro-downed with their match! Guzma learned the hard way of being defeated in the semi-finals by a twerp. Guzma, you may be older than Ash, but Ashy-boy has been defeated so many times in this position itâs not even funny. So the finals were a three-on-three match between Ash and Gladion.
Ash got some good traction with his newly evolved pokemon Melmetal. Gladion was able to put his fatherâs pokemon, Zoroark into good use. And there was even a double knockout near the end. But somehow, we knew it would go back to a finale of Lycanroc vs. Lycanroc. And this was a nail-bitter. Who the heck knows who was going to end up victorious?
âŠActually, a certain publication leaked the result three days before the episode airedâŠ
I fucking hate the internet sometimes.
So Ash wonâŠ
*CRAZY-ASS APPLAUSE TIME*
Youâd think Jesus âTap Dancingâ Christ rose from the dead with how crazy this was. The internet lost it because after the Kalos Leagueâs close-call and Sinnohâs B.S. match against the legendaries, they saw this as Ashâs staple in becoming a Pokemon Master. WhateverâŠ

WHAT NEXT?!: Actually, much like what happened after Alain won the Pokemon League, the ceremony was quickly interrupted by the appearance of the gluttenous Ultra Beast, Guzzlord. And it took the power of everyoneâs Z-Crystal to get rid of this beast. However, at the end of this powerful battle, Ash and everyone else learned a shocking secret of Professor Kukui.
Kukui is really Alolaâs most famous battler, Masked Royal!
Well now that the Delcattyâs out of the bag, might as well have Kukui actually go up against Ash in a six-on-six match. NOW THATâS WHAT IâM TALKING ABOUT! This was one hell of a match, spanning over three episodes (it was that bad-ass). Kukuiâs got one hell of a line-up featuring pokemon from nearly every region. Now because of a certain battle, seeing Rowlet take out one of Kukuiâs finest kinda pisses me off. But the biggest fights came from Incenaroar and Torracat. Because they fought, not one, not two, but THREE times! And their bout ended with Ashâs Torracat evolving and a double knockout! OH MY GOD, HOW COULD THIS GET ANY BETTER?!

In comes Tapu-Koko! He said, âFuck your sixth pokemon, Kukui. I wanna battle this boy Iâve been stalking since 2016!â Yeah, we get one major fight between one of the Tapus and Ashâs Naganadel and Pikachu (and whatever pokemon that isnât dead) and believe it or not, Ash won! He defeated all of Kukuiâs pokemon AND Tapu-Koko. Heâs seriously out-doing everything heâs ever done from XYZ! Even going above and beyond with Pikachu by doing a solid reference to Dragon Ball ZâŠYou all know what they referenced.
So Ash, you just won the Pokemon League, you defeated your mentor, you took out one of the island deities, what are you gonna do next?
IâM GOING TO DISNEYLAâŠPALLET TOWN!
Yeah, I would choose that too Ash. Only for different and hornier reasons! Actually, Ash gave a lot of thought to what was next. Not only him, but everybody in his class! The biggest one of course was Lillie as she has been reading up on her fatherâs old journals and trying to figure out that gift he left her as a baby before he disappeared. I still canât believe he got her quite a rare pokemon like Magerna. But Magerna has been a husk until Lillie took care of it and now itâs freakinâ mobil. Back to Ash, it wasnât really until he fought Kiawe in a post-match fight that he buckled down on what he wants to do next. And I think Olivia mentioning traveling kinda sparked Ash for his next journey.
And wouldnât you know it, Team Rocket at the same time gets word from Giovanni to pack their shit up and return to Kanto. Mimikyu in its satanic fashion tries to take out Pikachu one last time. But it failed, almost drowned in the water, and was then SAVED by the very Pokemon itâs tried to kill the last 145 episodes. Okay, vendetta over, later bitches. Team Rocket ended up leaving Maernie and Mimikyu in the dead of night. And Bewear promised to watch after them in their absence and gave us something we havenât seen since this show beganâŠa proper blast off! Team Rocket blasted off once more. Iâm feeling quite nostalgic because itâs been a while.
Hey, I just realized. What happened to Jigglypu-
WHO CARES!
Okay then, Iâll probably see it in another 10 years.

Lillie decided to go off with her mother and brother to travel. Lusamine handed over her responsibilities to Rotomdex. And on the day of Lillieâs departure, she ends up almost in the same fashion as Serenaâs goodbye (but thankfully weâre on a boat and she canât do any last-minute smooches). Lillie remembered all that Ash has done for her and how much sheâs grown, so she gives him a very earnest âThank Youâ. Now for Ashâs goodbye to his host family! Now Iâve pretty much heard and seen the internet cherish this cute bond between Kukui, Burnet, and Ash. And yeah, itâs pretty genuine! Whenever we get an opening scene of them in Kukuiâs home, theyâre usually doing something family-ish. And theyâre definitely going to miss that! Poor Burnet was even crying!
On Ashâs flight back to Pallet Town, he looks out the window and sees his friends giving him one final farewell as they fly through the skies with their partner pokemon.
In the aftermath we see, Sophocles leaving to go with his cousin, Mallowâs older brother returning home, Shaymin transforming into its flying form (yes, flying away leaving Mallow), Kiawe is doing some training with Olivia, Lana traveling with her father to fish for a mythical pokemon, Hau taking on Nanu in a grand trial, Team Skull just hanging there, Bewear looking after Maernie and Mimikyu, Lusamine traveling with the kids, and something that shocked the shit out of me! Even though I called it in the back of my mind!
We close out the episode with Kukui and Burnet sitting together and...

WHAT THE WHAT?!
NANI?
NANI THE FUCK?
IS THAT A BABY BUMP?! It is. It freakinâ is! God I hope Ash didnât walk in on them having sex. Donât be silly Medea, they probably conceived this child when Ash was either training or having a sleepover. Truthfully, I say they did the nasty when Ash, Kiawe, and Sophocles spent the night in the woods training.
OOH, BETTER IMAGE! They did roleplaying during sex and Kukui wore the Masked Royal mask! Just let me have this moment guys. I really enjoy frolicking in my gutter mind!
Oh and closing message, âand your dreams!â
I seriously hope the English dub keeps the end credits to this. They have a lousy reputation of skimping on things like that. They even skipped the photo scene at the end of BW. Please for crapâs sake, keep the ending scenes!
Yes, in the back of my mind I thought Sun and Moon would be radical and give us a pregnant Burnet. I knew this would happen sometime after that wedding episode a year and a half ago. But then a few weeks before the Sun and Moon finale, I wound up dreaming about Kiaweâs mother pregnant and she was wearing the exact same dress Burnet is wearing in the final scene. Sometimes my dreams can be fucking spooky and spot-on at the same time.
WOW-EE-WOWEE-WOW-WOW! Okay, um. Some thoughts! This anime gave me such a huge slump during a lot of it. I cannot lie. There was a long period of time where I was just disinterested in Sun and Moon. And seeing how other people were (especially those who were staunch XYZ fans) yeah I can see that. One big, annoying factor was once again, the animation. Yeah, you whiny bitches complaining BW Ash was the worst? You owe that one an apology! Because this Ash looks nothing like the past 5 Ashâs! And they tried this comedic style that won on some parts and failed in other departments. Though, spot-on whenever we get a Jojoâs reference! There were episodes that were just absolute MEH. And this is coming from the same person who sat through all the fillers in Johto, MORE THAN ONCE! And I had some severe reservations about seeing a main cast this huge trying to get some character growth. I had absolutely no expectations for anyone and thought they were gonna serve as dead weight (except for Kiawe and Lana).
Once again, Iâm glad to see my expectations are blown away. There has been massive character development and they managed to hit all the main characters and even some of the minor ones. Lillie especially has blossomed throughout the series. As a girl who was afraid of Pokemon, I am impressed at how far sheâs come. She was able to overcome her fear of pokemon eventually, hatch a pokemon from an egg, excel the power of Z-moves, bring back to life a rare/mythical pokemon, and even make it to the top 16 of the Alolan League. While Lana is still my best girl of this season, Lillie is definitely a wonder to behold. Sophocles, I had the littlest of hope or care for him. I still am not a fan of him really, but when you see this boy overcome certain anxieties, hurdles, and one sad moment involving the meteorite pokemon, you see heâs a pretty solid character.
And then thereâs MallowïżœïżœDammit! So I just realized as Iâm wrapping up Sun and Moon.

One of the biggest things I saw was âFamilyâ. And seeing as Alola is a take on Hawaii and one of the biggest things people pride theirselves upon is family, this totally makes sense. In Sun and Moon, we saw a lot of different kinds of families. Small ones like Sophocles. Bigger ones like Kiawe and Lana. Families that have had their own share of heartache like Mallow and Lillie. Ones that end up starting like Kukui and Burnet! Hala and Hauâs little relationship. And even families that are reunited like Bewear and Stuffel! These particular moments and episodes were ones that touched me in a way only Miyazaki can reach. Particularly Mallowâs story! I already mentioned this in the saddest moment category, but Mallow with her deceased mother is one of the best character growth episodes in Pokemon history. Up until that point, weâve seen Mallow pretty perky, a good cook, and a supportive friend, especially to Ash, Lana, and Lillie. But then we get hit with this one story that no one expected. And now, letâs discuss Ash in this part! We got to see Ash settle in with a second family life with Kukui and Burnet. I mean letâs face it, all the other places Ash traveled he would roam from town to town. Here in Alola, itâs like Kukui was the father he never had and Burnet was like a second mother. And I suppose they felt like Ash was a son to them. So quite fitting they wound up having a baby after his departure.
And it wasnât just the humans that have grown, but their pokemon too! Many of Ash and his friendsâs pokemon were able to grow and shatter all expectations. Two of Ashâs pokemon especially deserve that praise and thatâs Lycanroc and Incenaroar. Back when Lycanroc was a Rockruff, he always strived to get stronger. And in later episodes, it looked up to other Lycanroc like Oliviaâs and Gladionâs. Then it evolved and itâs been quite the journey to try and train this doggo to itâs full potential. And because this is one of Ashâs pokemon, this has gotta be a one-of-a-kind pokemon (dusk form). Well Lycanroc has overcome some tough obstacles (yes, including bearing through getting dirty) and went on to be one of Ashâs top pokemon.
Litten, THANKFULLY didnât have a dickhead trainer abusing him like many of Ashâs other fire-type pokemon. But Littenâs story was far from perfect as it was a stray cat pokemon living on the streets with an old Stoutland. And Ash took in Litten after Stoutland passed away. Litten was a pretty decent member of Ashâs team, but definitely got the fire in his eyes when he saw Masked Royal and Incenaroar. That encouraged Litten throughout the series to get stronger. Even leading to one of the best fights during Kukui and Ashâs match! Good doggo, good kitty!
Oh yeah, probably should talk about the battles! Unlike the other gyms up to this point, Ash went through Grand Trials (just like you would in the game). Except Ash really didnât do that many of those mini trials since Kiawe, Lana, Mallow, and Sophocles were his classmates and not giving out tests! But Ash still wound up battling the big kahunas like Hala, Olivia, Nanu, and Hapu. And in the old Ash fashion, there were battles he won like a champ, ones where heâd have to try again, and ones where he got supremely lucky. Yeah, that Ash vs. Hapu match was such bullshit. But Iâd still take that match over Ash vs. Hau in the Alolan League!
I will NEVER get over that match. Yeah aside from that travesty, a lot of the Pokemon League matches were pretty stellar, even the ones not involving Ash. I really enjoyed Sophocles vs. Kiawe and the Lana vs. Mallow match.
LETâS LOOK BACK AT MY HIGH HOPES: At the end of Pokemon XY, I made a nice list of things I would like to see. Did any of my high hopes come to fruition? Letâs seeâŠ
First of all, NO, I DID NOT SEE MY ANIME HUSBAND! For fuckâs sake Pokemon! If Snorlax exists at the Oak lab, Tracey Sketchit should too. They both came from the same arc. But NO! Heâs not at the lab and doesnât even get a mention. That is messed up! I donât know if this is because they couldnât get Tomokazu Seki to stop playing Gilgamesh for a second to come back or theyâre trying to distance themselves from the Orange Islands as much as possible, or if they just FORGOT his existence, but Iâm not digging this. No, Medea hates this with a holy fucking passion.
Old characters returning under this new style! Yeah, it happened. I think I was only a fan of how the women looked, so Misty and Delia looked okay to me. I just wasnât a fan of Professor Oak and Brock. Although, kudos to the anime for having Brock take his shirt off and show off his six-pack. DAMN BOY! The animation ended up staying the same throughout the series, but I managed to tolerate/muscle through it.
I know I forgot to write this part, but I really wanted Kukui to remain single for the series. Yeah, that fell at the waist-side! Kukui was singleâŠbut then he got married. Okay, I can accept it. That was the cutest proposal, I have to admit that. And I was howling when I saw pregnant Burnet at the end. So alls well that ends well!
Letâs see, Lusamine wasnât voiced by Miki Itou like I wanted. Then again, this Lusamine wasnât a psycho bitch. Although kudos for getting Nobuhiko Okamato voicing Gladion. I am forever happy with that outcome.
Did I get more Clefables? FUCK YEAH, I DID! Holy shit, I forgot Lusamine had a Clefable in the games and didnât even think the anime was going to keep that, but HOLY SHIT THEY DID AND IâM SO HAPPY! Not only that but we were able to see Clefable every so often. Itâs so adorable. I just wanna hug her!
Lillieâs egg of course wasnât Cosmog, it was Alolan Vulpix. Cosmog canât be hatched. It just magically appears. Hey, cute choice though!
Did Ash catch a psychic pokemon? UhhhhhhhâŠno! Still no psychic type.
Did I see Wicke and Olivia, fuck yeah I did! Wicke is adorable especially when she bosses Faba around. My only thing with Olivia is that, I wish the anime didnât make her into a clumsy oaf the whole time. My God, she tripped more times than Bianca did during Best Wishes. Thatâs sad! Now her being the object of Brockâs eye, that I wasnât expecting. Iâm wondering if Brock will keep in contact with Olivia or if heâs moved onto another booty-call of the day.
Overall, it was a bumpy start for me to get into Sun and Moon. But it wasnât until we got to important things like the Aether Foundation, Mallowâs mother, and Guzmaâs debut that got me back fully invested. I know itâs damn near impossible to convince staunch XYZ fans to watch this, but give it a shot for the stories. The animation is just so undoable after what XY has given us, but still.
Currently, most (if not all) episodes of Sun and Moon dubbed will be available on Hulu, Netflix, Pokemon TV, and Disney XD. Yeah, no one has gotten around to giving us legal subtitled episodes sad to say. Hereâs hoping Disney XD will continue holding onto the Pokemon license as they happen to be the ONLY one that literally has all episodes available. On the channel, they still kinda restrict themselves to only playing the current season, but sometimes we get lucky with the movies.
MORE HIGH HOPES: Okay, new high hopes for the new Pokemon series, PokemonâŠum, 2019? Seriously guys, whatâs up with this cryptic-ass series?
*Signs that Tracey Sketchit exists. Just show him at Oakâs lab or somewhere in this series. Thatâs all I ask. I will even swallow my pride and allow him to be at the Waterflower Slut Brigade in Cerulean. Just please, for the love of Arceus, show him to me. That flash in the 20th movie does not settle me. Give him to me, now! Donât care how, I WANT IT NOW! I am the Veruca Salt of seeing Tracey again.
*Aside from Tracey, and seriously show him to me alreadyâŠIf at possible, update on May and Iris. Everyone else can go fuck off! These two deserve an update if Ash is doing this around the world adventure with his new boy-toy Gou. I know it may be difficult to get their voice actors back as Iâm sure Aoi Yuukiâs schedule is insane and Kaori has an illness preventing her from voicing. Still! Something from those twoâŠAND ONLY THOSE TWO FEMALES! Iâm sick of Misty popping in without giving us what we want. Dawn and Serena need to go to the Pokemon version of Antartica until 2030. And unless Mallow, Lana, and Lillie make a shocking discovery, I donât want to see them for a few years.
*CLEFABLES! Okay, yeah, that goes without saying!
*YAMPER or as I call him, Winston Corgles Ein Handbanana the Breadloaf must be seen at least once every two episodes. The opening theme doesnât count. I want to see Winston Corgles Ein Handbanana the Breadloaf.
*Eventually spend some time in Galar and fight gym battles there. I know the Pokemon anime wants to take a sharp left turn into WTF territory, but sometimes donât mess with the status quo and have Ash take on some gyms. Mmkay?!
*If Team Rocket and Giovanni really have to show up again, could we PLEASE finally get Ariana, Archer, Petrel, and Proton to be in the anime? Or as my friend calls them, the Stupid Sexy Rocket Execs!
*And while weâre at it, could we get an arc in this series where Ash goes to the Battle Tower in Sinnoh?
*Give James a Galarian Weezing.
*Rica Matsumoto must eventually sing an OP theme for this series. Goes without saying!
*Give Ash a Psychic type.
*I know nobody ages in this show, but please donât keep Burnet pregnant forever. Also, if Ash decides to visit Kukui and Burnet again, I wanna see their baby.
Final category (I promise)!
IN MEMORIUM: I would like to close my review to Pokemon: Sun & Moon to talk about a certain voice that has been at the center of the Pokemon anime from day one. That was Unshou Ishizuka. If you watched the Japanese version of Pokemon, chances are you have heard this manâs voice in any episode you watch. Whether as Professor Oak or the narrator! Not only those two, but voiced Alder in the Black/White series, Samson Oak in the Sun/Moon series, several versions of the Pokedex, Magikarp Salesman, and many notable pokemon including Mistyâs Gyarados, Cilanâs Stunfisk, Dawnâs Mamoswine, Ashâs Muk, Brockâs Onix/Steelix, and even Traceyâs Scyther. In August 2018, he passed away from Esophagus Cancer. So losing someone of this caliber is a huge hit to Pokemon.
I didnât start watching the Japanese version religiously until 2006 (right around the time the dub murdered eardrums). But I was able to hear him as Onix and Gyarados early on because they had the same voice throughout the entire series run in English. But I had a lot of fun listening to him as Professor Oak when I switched to the Japanese version. Â Not to mention his other roles outside the Pokemon series including Mr. Satan in the later Dragon Ball series and Grandpa Joestar on JoJoâs Bizarre Adventure. I seriously miss him. May he rest in peace.

P J a shipper? SHIP-A-THONÂ â18
đ«đ¶đđ đ±đŒđŒ
My case with the others:
Now the ships I like listed here are uncategorized by any series of the main-core anime series, such as QuestShipping. This pairing between Jimmy/Kenta (Trainer Goldâs anime counterpart) and Marina (Trainer Krisâs anime counterpart) can only be seen in the Legend of Thunder anime special. While their feelings for each other are flat out obvious, itâs nice to see a main protagonist that actually responds to a girlâs feelings for him *cough* *cough*
Other examples of unlisted pairings are Flint and Lola, Brockâs parents. Theyâre weird bunch if youâve seen the anime specials they were in, but their love is definitely strong as a rock. Not even redesigning the Pewter gym to a water type gym with streamers around could break this marriage. And speaking about their son...Â
The case with Brock/Takeshi: Now Brock deserves a special mention for this ship-a-thon post he is always finding for new love every day with every girl his age or older he meets. Unfortunately 95% of that he gets reject and gets his ear pulled, or poison jabbed. But there is that 5% of females that do like him (he didnât really like the younger ones back though). And out of all that liked him back, Pike Queen Lucy from Battle Frontier was my favorite one (LuckShipping). I really got mad at Max for dragging him out in the end of that episode, where we clearly see Lucy blush. Whatâs funny about all of this is that she probably only liked Brock because most of the PokĂ©mon she had at home had the same eyes (e.g. Skitty, Swinub, Snorlax) as he did xD I bursted out laughing because of that scene. On the friends side of things, he was Ashâs first big bro and chef. Itâs amazing to see how close they were traveling for 3 series straight (the only companion to do so). GymShipping (Brock and Misty) had some cute moments too, but mostly goofy ones (like with Maxâs ear-pulling lol). Big bro Brock also applies with May when she helps him buy for traveling supplies in Hoenn, or with Dawn giving her advice to lighten up during her times of depression. WE <3 YOU BROCK, screw all the girls that rejected you!

RocketShipping / KojiMusa (Jessie/Musashi & James/KojirĆ): The favorite villain ship of the series definitely has a special place here in the others section since they were basically in every series! Take that Butch & Cassidy (I kinda ship them too) with your unoriginal motto! Along with PokĂ©Shipping, this is one of the most respected older ships in the community (as it SHOULD BE for being the longest running one TO THIS DAY). I feel like theyâre already a married couple discussing plans every night before going to bed on how to catch Pikachu. This also the first adult pairing I grew up loving whether they eat, argue, cheer (in Jessieâs contests and performances), or blast off together, itâs really nice to see a mature (not really if you think about it lol) pairing over the course of 20 years in this show. Favorite moment - All the episodes with Jessebelle/Rumika (Jamesâs childhood âfriendâ) in it. I remember watching the first one where they introduced James parents, and actually seeing a good side of James for the very first time outside of Team Rocket. At the end of that episode is really when the ship was sold to me. James pulls Jessie aboard the Meowth balloon, and they look into each other's eyes promising to continue to live without anymore personal commitments and resume Team Rocket operations. Iâm sure hardcore RocketShippers loved that scene as much as I did. Unfortunately because of that sweet moment, they forgot about Meowth who was still in the ground running to the balloon as the episode ended xD

Meowthâs/Nyarthâs loves: Meowth has had its fair share of romances too that deserves a bit of mentioning. Meowzie was the first one he fell for, and in fact was the reason why he can talk and walk like a human! Too bad she had preferred to be with the Persian :( That episode broke my heart too because I was rooting for Meowth to succeed. After that we saw multiple occasion where he was infatuated with other PokĂ©mon, such as Skitty, Glameow, Purrloin, and others I might be forgetting. KrazyShipping is the cat and mouse relationship he has with Ashâs Pikachu, although I really wouldnât say thereâs that much love in this relationship (gets shocked like every time they meet lol). In the end, his one true love is helping and aiding Team Rocket with Jessie and James (he loves them each of them you know it)...or fetishes with Giovanni fantasies.Â

Inter-region interactions: There are some fantasy shippings people would like to see happen because of region barriers (I NEED MAX AND BONNIE TO MEET), however some came true in the form of cameos like Misty and May, May and Dawn, Brock and Cilan (FAV!! Gotta love the experienced chefs), Brock and Kiawe, or even Piplup and Oshawott (best PokĂ©mon meeting/rivaly ever). But I would have to say that Misty and Lanaâs recent interaction is worthy of praise. The two trainer specialists showcased their love and passion for water type PokĂ©mon when they swam together finding the Gyarados that startled their group. Thereâs a bit of a watery rivalry in this cool and clean wet relationship (okay Iâll stop the water puns). I would definitely pay to watch a spin-off just between these two sailing the oceans of the PokĂ©mon world together, and diving into the deepest part of the sea just to see more PokĂ©mon.Â
Movie shippings: There are a couple of movie shippings to take into account over the past 20 years, especially with the movie exclusive characters. I would have to say one of my favorite ones (besides AccordShipping that I explained in a prior post) is in PokĂ©mon Heroes with Ash and Latias (AltoShipping...though MareShipping is the Bianca alternative term of the ship). This human PokĂ©mon relationship is just so unique since Latias could transform to the human form of the movieâs Bianca (kind of creepy if you take advantage of that). Another one worth mentioning is CarnivalShipping in the Jirachi movie. I donât remember much, but I know that Butler and Diane were an awesome magician & assistant dynamic...too bad Butler had evil intensions with Jirachi that made me (and Diane) lose respect for him a bit (he later redeemed himself but cmon man).
Game ships: Like with the movies thereâs a lot of game shippings to take into account, but my favorites would have to be from Gen. V! I do like the pairing of Dawn and Lucas from Gen. IV and the player with Lille/Hau OR Lillie and Hau themselves from Gen. VII. A lot of obvious hints too! But the Gen. V games had AgencyShipping, FerrisWheelShipping, SequelShipping (FAV!!!) and VisorShipping. I donât know why but the character designs stuck out to me and really enjoyed its characters emotionally. But I would definitely have to say TransceiverShipping is my favorite game ship simply because it is the first time where you can actually have a DATE OPTION IN A POKĂMON GAME. Whether if it was the male player and Yancy, or the female player and Curtis, the mysterious conversations you have with the Xtransceiver build up to the eventual date youâll have with them. Some very, very cute stuff if you havenât experienced it yourself. Go play PokĂ©mon Black or White Version 2 NOW!!!

Shippings from PokĂ©mon Adventures manga/PokĂ©Spe: We gotta show some love to the manga side of things too! One of my favorite PokĂ©Spe shipping include LuckyShipping (the flirting in here IS REAL), FranticShipping, ChessShipping (manga counterpart of AgencyShipping), and the pairing of X and Y (donât know the name for that one). But SpecialShipping to me takes the cake on my favorite manga ship simply because of Yellowâs shy feelings for Red. Itâs kind of like AmourShipping in a way, since Red is a bit dense in his own right to notice Yellowâs feelings AND Red and Yellow had their own childhood history before the Adventures storyline. Itâs just very very adorable, and full of blushes! If you arenât into PokĂ©Spe, but love shipping cute characters together, you should definitely give it a read!Â

KetchupShipping (Pikachu & Ketchup/Kechappu): BEST. SHIP. EVER. Favorite moment - The moment where Pikachu first laid eyes on that delicious bottle of ketchup at the Dark City episode, and licked it with cute pleasure :p
.....okay in seriousness what I really want to be talking about is PikaShipping
Of course the final PokĂ©mon shipping I have to showcase here is between Ash/Satoshi and Pikachu of all people and PokĂ©mon! I canât really say favorite moment because almost every time these two interact, it is always a great moment in my book! RocketShipping maybe the longest, but this beats it by an inch because there isnât a single episode where we donât see Ash with Pikachu by his side. They made this show work ever since it started, and everyone around the world knows this dynamic duo since 1997! Ash leaves every PokĂ©mon behind after Johto, BUT NEVER HIM. Everyone in the anime has had their one special PokĂ©mon partner (Dawn and Piplup, Iris and Axew, Bonnie and Dedenne, Sophocles and Togedemaru, etc...), but it is not quite like the courageous and close bond that Ash and Pikachu share. Nothing will ever beat their PokĂ©mon partnership...NOTHING!!!

Marvelâs WandaVision Episode 6: MCU Easter Eggs and Reference Guide
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
This article contains WANDAVISION spoilers through episode 6, possibly beyond, and for the wider MCU.
Itâs Halloween in Westview, and WandaVision is going all out. From the most comics-accurate looks for Scarlet Witch, Vision, Quicksilver, and even Wiccan to an eerie âWicked Witch of the Westâ getup for Agnes, this episode isnât messing around with its pop culture references. Oh yeah, and the whole thing feels faintly like an episode of Malcolm in the Middle, too!
Letâs get to work, because thereâs a lot to unpack on WandaVision episode 6âŠ
Halloween in Westview
The episodeâs title is âAll-New Halloween Spooktacular!â which on its own already sounds like the kind of cover blurb youâd see on an issue of Marvel Comics. Marvel in particular is known for using the âAll-New!â designation, sometimes in titles for the books themselves.
The first issue of the second The Vision and the Scarlet Witch series from Marvel Comics took place on Halloween night, so the pair have a history of canonical adventures around the holiday. That story had absolutely nothing to do with the events of this episode, though.
Sitcom Influences
The format and intro are definitely supposed to resemble Malcolm in the Middle, which began in January 2000. Tommy and Billy both break the fourth wall to talk to the viewer just like Malcolm (Frankie Muniz). The theme song practically tells you to stop questioning the reality of Westview and just enjoy whatâs going on. How very Mystery Science Theater 3000 of them.
We wrote more about the sitcom influences of episode 6 here.
Pietro, Peter, and Quicksilver
Nope, nothing complicated about the whole Peter/Pietro/Quicksilver thing at all. Nothing we had to write an entire article about to try and make sense of, nossir.
The recap makes sure to show Avengers: Age of Ultron footage just to drive home that we have two different versions of Quicksilver here.
Interestingly, Peterâs speed effect is very much how his power was represented in Age of Ultron, not how it was in the X-Men films. He seems to have at least SOME of the memories of MCU PietroâŠassuming thatâs who he is in the first place.
Tommy says Billy is afraid that Uncle Pietro is a vampire. Well, we do see him in an undead form later on, so close enough! Plus thereâs a strong chance that he represents an entity thatâs trying to siphon energy/magic from Wanda.
Pietro is quick to point out that he has the âXY chromosome.â Any excuse for him to announce the letter X, considering which version of Pietro weâre talking about.
He mentions ââUncle Peterâ to the rescue.â The Evan Peters version of Quicksilver was referred to as Peter Maximoff.
Pietro dresses as the comic version of Quicksilver, as does Tommy, who has the same powers (while claiming to be dressing as the cooler twin, a slam on both Billy and his mother).
At one point, right before Pietro and the kids run off, Tommy describes something as âkick-assâ and Wanda repeats, âKick-Ass?â out loud. The movie Kick-Ass starred Aaron Taylor-Johnson (the MCU Quicksilver) as the titular character while Evan Peters (the other Quicksilver) played his best friend.
Pietro and Tommy say, âI feel the need for speed!â The quote is from 1986âs Top Gun. Also, Tommyâs superhero name in the comics is Speed, so thereâs that. If we stretch realllllly (unnecessarily!) far, we can connect the upcoming Top Gun sequel to Marvel, as it stars Miles Teller who played Reed Richards in Josh Trankâs woeful Fantastic Four reboot.
Wanda lashes out at Hex Pietro when he is cavalier about Visionâs fate â âItâs not like your dead husband can die twice.â The taunt is super cruel and doesnât feel like something either version of her twin would say. Wandaâs violent reaction certainly speaks volumes about just how attached to this manifestation of Mr. Maximoff she is â not very.
Wanda doesnât seem to fully trust this version of Pietro, who knows a suspicious amount about whatâs really going on here. Heâs asking a lot of painful, pointed questions sheâs not ready to address.
Peterâs tattoo says âMoMâ â Multiverse of Madness, Mother of Mutants, Magnetoâs Own Mutants, or a red herring? Weâre sure the internet will have fun theorizing regardless.
That You, Mephisto?
Some of Uncle Peteâs exclamations have strong Mephisto energy âUnleash hell, demon spawn!â âThe kids need a father figureâ âDamnit, if Westview, New Jersey isnât charming as HellâŠâ Has the rumored Marvel Comics villain behind all this integrated himself in the The Hex passing as Pietro? We shall have to see.
The townâs theatre is called the Coronet. Classic poem âThe Coronetâ is written by an English metaphysical poet called Andrew MARVELL. Itâs about a dude who knows the sins of man led to the death of Christ. He tries to make a new crown for Christâs head in a bid to atone, but finds that there is sin in this too, as the devil is entwined in it and therefore he might achieve some glory with this new creation. Fitting.
Wiccan and Speed
Billy and Tommy are starting to resemble their comic book counterparts more and more. Billy in particular is wearing his âWiccanâ costume from the comics, and Tommy continues to conform to his âSpeedâ color schemeâŠexcept when he dresses like his Uncle Pietro as Quicksilver.
Ellis Avenue
Ellis Avenue is an odd reference. Warren Ellis has written many, many comics, but nothing of note with the characters involved in WandaVision. The closest thing would be Marvel Ruins, a dark, cynical, horror version of the Marvel Universe where everything went wrong. Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver had very minor appearances in there.
The closest other thing would be Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E., a probably non-canonical series that teamed Monica Rambeau, Machine Man, Boom Boom, Elsa Bloodstone, and The Captain teamed up to fightâŠlots of weird shit, to be honestïżœïżœincluding several reality altering threats.
Agnes
In her daze, Agnes mentions getting lost, with Vision pointing out that she supposedly grew up in this town. Agnes also talks about making a âwrong turn.â This might have something to do with Agnesâ claim in the first episode that she didnât actually come to town until AFTER Wanda and Vision had (jokingly citing a visit from her mother-in-law as the reason).
Agnesâ crazed laughter goes perfectly well with her witch costume, giving off some wicked Wizard of Oz vibes.
Agnesâ license plate number is either DA1 B2C or 0A1 B2C. Whichever it is, this is an incredibly generic plate number, either a nod to the artificiality of Wandaâs overall illusion or perhaps an indicator that Agnes is creating this as something that looks âfakeâ in order to further blend in. Which brings us toâŠ
Is it possible that Agnes is âfakingâ her confusion here and in episode 5?
Similarly, her ânaughtyâ sweatpants had a rather sinister, possibly demonic, font to them, didnât they?
Scarlet Witch
Wanda describes her Halloween costume as a âSokovian fortune tellerâ while dressed as her comic self. Vision is also his comic self, but is identified as a professional wrestler.
Vision
Vision is apparently supposed to be dressed like a Mexican wrestler, but câmon, even though itâs no longer era-appropriate there was a Honeymooners-esque âMan From Marsâ joke right there!
When Vision collapses to his knees on the ground with his cape blowing in the wind, the shot is composed much like his death scene in Avengers: Infinity War. Wandaâs magic is again the culprit of his demise, albeit unintentionally this time.
Vision showing how selfless he is again â even as heâs being ripped apart heâs trying to save the people of Westview instead. Another pure reminder of Visionâs introduction in Avengers: Age of Ultron when he proved he was worthy enough to wield Mjolnir.
Vision apparently has no memory of being a member of the Avengers, which is certainly strange.
Thanks to Wanda, Vision is an Avenger Disassembled! Get it? Anyone? No?
The Yo Magic Commercial
Yo Magic is a yogurt snack, but the commercial has a real strong Shark Bites vibe. Shark Bites were terrible, you probably would have died too if that was all you were allowed to eat on a desert island.
âSnack on Yo Magic!â MIGHT indicate that someone or something is feeding off of Wandaâs deal here, or perhaps she is channeling the mystical energy of someone even stronger than herself to keep The Hex alive.
Thereâs yet another reference to the Infinity Stones in this commercial. This ad features a kid alone on a desert island who grimly ends up looking like olâ Red Skull on Vormir â heâs the sole (Soul) survivor. Thereâs no doubt in our minds these commercials are all about both the stones and horrible moments from Wandaâs past.
Cataract
SWORD director Haywardâs top secret project âCataractâ included experiments on Visionâs body, as revealed by Darcy. A cataract is âa cloudy area in the lens of the eye that leads to a decrease in visionâ â has Hayward weaponized Vision? Heâs definitely up to something nefarious.
The Cataract is also one of the stages in X-Men vs. Street Fighter and Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter.
Westview
The town motto on the altered billboard when the Hex expands is âWestview: Home is Where You Make It.â This was less visible on the earlier version, although the juxtaposition of the old and new billboards calls to mind the âTwin Pines/Lone Pineâ sign from Back to the Future.Â
The Coronet theatreâs marquee features The Incredibles (2004) and The Parent Trap. The former is about a superhero family who retires to the suburbs, and the latter is about reunited twins! Both properties are owned by Disney. The Incredibles have often been likened to the Fantastic Four, and in September, 2019 director Brad Bird publicly shot down rumors that he was in the running to helm Marvelâs First Family reboot. The voice of Frozone/Lucius Best in The Incredibles is none other than Samuel L. Jackson aka the MCUâs own Nick Fury! Itâs likely that The Parent Trap in question here is the 1998 version, given the time period. This would help place this âeraâ of Westview somewhere between 1998 and 2004.
Wanda expands The Hex to save Vision, sucking in most of SWORD and Darcy, too. Since we now know that when you are enveloped by the barrier it changes you on a cellular level, Wanda could accidentally be creating a range of new superheroes. How much bigger can The Hex get as Wandaâs anger grows and how many people will it affect?
Monica Rambeau
Darcy unveils evidence that Monicaâs DNA has been altered by crossing the barrier of The Hex twice. It seems like sheâs well on the path to becoming her superpowered comics counterpart. WandaVision is turning out to be our longform superhero origin story for Monica Rambeau! Of course, Darcy has also now been pulled through the barrier â will she be affected in the same way?
Darcy and Jimmy Woo
Monica and Woo are off to meet her âguyâ who will help them â who will it be? We have our theories.
Darcy is seen wearing a Mickey Mouse watch when sheâs hacking into Haywardâs files. Probably no need to point out this Disney connection!
Among the names of the people who drop down when Darcy is emailing Jimmy Woo:
James Gadd â works in post-production at Marvel Studios
James Alexander â a visual effects producer on WandaVision
Back in episode 4, Darcy referred to the other people she was travelling with to the SWORD camp as âthe full clown car.â The joke pays off again in episode 6 when a bunch of SWORD gets sucked into The Hex and turned into clowns.
As far as we know, Jimmy has still not identified the Westview man in witness protection heâs been searching for since episode 4. This mystery will survive another week. What if itâsâŠPietro? Nah. UnlessâŠ
Random Marvel and Halloween Stuff
In the background, one kid is dressed as an off-brand Sub-Zero from Mortal Kombat. The first Mortal Kombat came out in 1992, fitting a more â90s aesthetic.
Someone is dressed as Jason Voorhees, and his sweater is striped like Freddy Kruegerâs, the peanut butter to Jasonâs jelly. The iconic slashers faced off in 2003âs Freddy vs. Jason, so itâs a mash-up that suits the time period.
Wanda tossed Quicksilver over some fake tombstones. One of them is for Janell Sammelman. Janell Sammelman worked on WandaVision as a first assistant director.
Pietro and the kids are shotgunning âKane Colaâ which on the one hand sounds like it could be an âextremeâ â90s/early oughts drink like Jolt Cola or Surge (remember those ridiculously stupid commercials?), but with all the X-Men teasing theyâre doing, maybe Garrison Kane was a soft drink magnate in the MCU before his powers manifested. No? Ok.
Could Wanda asking about the kid in the orphanage who âhad the skin thingâ be a reference to maybe another mutant kid? Former Brotherhood colleague Toad?
One of the houses is made up with a sign that says âMacabre Mansion.â Theyâre âŠprobably not referencing best-forgotten Marvel villain Madam Macabre or similarly obscure Moon Knight villain Dansen Macabre (get it?).
During a flashback, Billy and Tommy are shown playing Dance Dance Revolution, which came out for home consoles in 1999. Also, in their room, on the right, is that Dogpool? A dog doll colored in the style of Deadpool?
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
Wanda closes apps (people) to reduce load times. Or maybe theyâre video game NPCs. In any case, itâs disturbing.

âTeaseâ [TaeJin Fluff/Smut] PART 01
Pairing - BTS V / Taehyung ŠŠ Jin / Seokjin
Summary: What happens when the social butterfly gets a fluttering feeling of his own?
Kim Seokjin. The reason Taehyung has been visiting the local entertainment store daily without fail for the past 2 weeks. At best, the variety the vicinity had to offer was mediocre for Taehyungâs eclectic music tastes and was usually exceptional enough to drop into once a fortnight or something...
Since the arrival of the new employee however, his money had been squandered on: 2 deluxe versions of CDs he already has, 5 DVDs, a pair of headphones - perhaps the only thing he actually needed - and 4 posters that sadly stand rolled up in the corner of his room, like Christmas wrapping paper that you forget about when youâve bought too much of it, buying to gift 30 people and then realizing you have 4 friends to buy forâŠ
But he doesnât mind. Every trip so far has proved worthwhile, never failing to conjure up a conversation with the cutie behind the till who has surprisingly been on shift there every time⊠itâs almost too perfect.
Entering the store once more on a quiet Friday evening, after college as always, Taehyung paces straight to the end of the first aisle down which he can see Seokjin knelt restocking the vinyl shelves. He should be used to this by now, approaching the guy, but thereâs this adrenaline that fills his system every time he is about to greet the man.
âHello strangerâ Taehyung coyly smiles, looking down onto the attractive broad shoulders of the elder.
Now, usually Taehyung would only go for someone more around his own age, specifically the cute little mochi with the Busan accent that used to work at the local convenience store down the road from his house that sadly moved out of town⊠He swears to God if this guy moves away too, heâs resorting to online shoppingâŠ
Theyâve talked about everything over the past days - culture, food, sports, tv⊠you name it, and itâs given Taehyung sufficient knowledge about his newfound crush, bar the mystery of the manâs sexuality,
âAh, I was wondering when you would come over here firstâ Seokjin asserts, flustering Taehyung a tad.
There was a truth to that, Taehyung canât deny; just coming into the store more often than usual was courageous enough for Taehyung. You wouldnât think it if you saw him around college, socializing with literally everyone on the premises, but when he spots a guy he really likes, that confidence just disappears and heâs a completely different person.
âI donât know what youâre talking aboutâ Taehyung knowingly smirks in response.
He knows heâs a sucker for a cute guy and when he falls, he falls hard; always has, always will, the most cringe-worthy example being in the final year of high school when he had this huge thing for the school prodigy Jeon Jeongguk who was placed in a lot of Taehyungâs classes⊠He was such a boisterous, informal teenager that could talk to everyone and anyone, until this guy sat next to him one day and bam - jelly legs, empty stomach, dizzy headâŠ
âAlthough this does mean youâve already broken our little traditionâŠâ Seokjin replies, bringing himself to his feet. âBut since the store is so dead today, thereâs little point in beating around the bush⊠Now, how can I help you today?â
âIâm thinking of just chilling out on the couch tonight with a film, soâŠâ
âThen allow me to escort you to the film aisleâ Seokjin jests, bowing his head down and pointing in the right direction, to which Taehyung chuckles as he leads the way.
*
The boys pace minutely across the floor, engaging in conversation about the different films and tv series that Taehyung points at
âSee, I really like stuff like this,â Taehyung begins, picking up a copy of an earlier series of the anime Detective Conan, âand it would be ace to collect stuff like this, but I kind of think itâs worthless when itâs all available online, like I donât think itâs good enough to pay for when itâs all freeâŠâ
âYeah, I feel you man, like some things are worth buying even when theyâre available for free online, and itâs nicer to have a solid copy of something, but there are some series that can feel a little repetitive in that sense I suppose⊠So like what you have there, I feel is more something that is nice to watch one or two episodes of to kill an hour or take a break from a challenging task⊠I probably shouldnât be saying this when I work in a store like this though, right?â Seokjin laughs.
They move onto the film section of the DVD aisle, inspecting the shelves that hold special offers. All the âclassicsâ that everyone has known and seen that show up on normal tv channels every weekend⊠With some exceptions.
âAhâŠâ Seokjin mildly grins, pointing at a darker dvd case. âHave you seen it?â
âUh, I⊠Yesâ Taehyung hesitantly replies, not wanting to seem like a complete and utter pervert as he registers which DVD Seokjin is talking aboutâŠ
âEveryone always raves about it, but I donât know⊠What did you think of it?â
Taehyung at this point is having an internal freak out right now. How is Seokjin asking these questions so calmly and seriously? Taehyung hasnât even had time to contemplate whether he will be comfortable talking about such topics around this guy⊠Why must he have pointed at that film in particular? Why not just have a perfectly innocent conversation about one of the action films or something? Okay, technically that film is action, but not the James Bond kind of action⊠Kind of.
âIt was⊠alright I guess?â Taehyung replies uncertainly, figuring that heâs going to have to force himself to be a bit more open about himself if he wants this crush to go anywhere, or at the very least get answers to the questions that run in his mind.
âLook, Iâll be perfectly honest here with you Seokjin, I donât exactly⊠Letâs just say itâs not something I can engage withâŠâ Itâs very indirect and ambiguous but Taehyung hopes thatâs enough to put across to Seokjin his orientation.
Of course, Seokjin is quite an intelligent man, Taehyung has gathered, and he seems to pick up the meaning, indicated by his tone âOh, right, I seeâŠâ and what he says next all confuses, intrigues and scares Taehyung âI get you there, man, completely⊠She isnât quite everyoneâs type, is she?â
âWhat does that mean?!? Is he like me⊠he said he gets me? What does he mean by ânot quite everyoneâs typeâ? Not everyoneâs type by personality, appearance or gender? This is mentalâŠâ
âUm, noâŠâ
âIâll admit, I can relate to the guy in a roundabout kind of way, but⊠Just not with her⊠Simply put, you canât really beat a dick, can you?â
âWow. Fuck. Fuck. This is escalating SO fast! Why is he being like this? Has he clocked on that I fancy him more than a big juicy steak being offered to a starving dog?... Omo Tae! Quit it with those thoughts!... Heâs playing me, isnât he? Heâs fucking playing meâŠâ
âUm, no, I guess notâ Taehyung utters with a stiff smile that could easily be translated as an awkward smile of admittance rather than nervousness.
This shouldnât be a problem at all, Taehyung figures. Theyâve spoken about everything and anything lately and have become quite comfortable around each other⊠Yet this is real. This is Taehyungâs crush having a discussion based on sex; this makes Taehyung feel all sorts of things.
âSorry, that was a little weirdâ Seokjin apologises. âI just⊠I guess I feel comfortable around you, thatâs all⊠I donât really talk to many people aboutâŠâ
âYour sexuality?â
âYeah.â
âNeither do I reallyâŠâ Taehyung confesses. ââWasnât even planning to come out at school, you know, until I kind of made things really obvious with this one guy aroundâŠâ
âOh dude! Thatâs like literally how I knew what I was, you know. Like one day, youâre thinking about what x times y could mean whilst trying to ignore your acknowledgement of a super hot classmate in your algebra lesson⊠and then you realise that x times y is basically xyâŠâ
An awkward silence takes its place in the flow of conversation for a second as Taehyung fails to recognise the reference.
âLike the chromosomeâŠ?... Sorry, Iâm just blabbering shit nowâŠâ
âNo need to apologise, I, uh⊠itâs actually kind of a relief for meâ Taehyung manages to admit.
âA relief? How so?â
This is it. The moment in which Taehyung is about to either make a complete fool of himself, or say the sentence that could be the start of something cool.
âI guess Iâve been wonderingâŠâ is all Taehyung musters before leaving another silence in the air.
Taehyungâs brain comes to a stand still. His fear of rejection is proving to be a barrier, stopping him from proceeding any further. He urges himself to continue, having already gotten nearer to confessing to Seokjin than he has with any other guy before. It would be a shame to stop when heâs come this far.
âSo have I, actuallyâŠâ Seokjin pipes up. âThis⊠this is kinda nice, and⊠Iâm gonna come clean here; I may have been picking up extra shifts this weekâŠâ
âReally?â Taehyung enquires, now feeling much more at ease that he doesnât have to worry himself with what to say next. âWell, in that case, I have a confession to make alsoâŠâ
âHow many of the things that youâve purchased here over the past few weeks are things you actually wanted?â
Taehyung chuckles, unashamed now to be called out on his frequent visits âI mean, there was the headphonesâŠâ he pauses. âAh, thatâs itâ he concludes, hands in pockets, looking down at the floor, unsure where to look.
âAre you free after my shift?â Seokjin asks, causing Taehyung to lift his head back up. âIâd like to talk more outside of this same old place.â
âOf courseâ Taehyung grins.
âIâm really glad you like music, Taehyung.â
âIâm really glad I like music too, Seokjin.â
âWait outside for me, yeah?â the elder winks, wandering away down the aisle and toward the till where he has noticed a customer ready to pay.
There arenât many places to go at 6.30 on a Friday evening, and when youâve only known one another for just under a fortnight, suggesting going back to one of the otherâs house would seem a bit off⊠So here they sit, in front of some garage door at a parking lot, looking onto the city traffic.
âItâs strangely therapeutic, huh?â Seokjin asks, admiring the aesthetic of the lights with the dull evening sky.
âYeah, I guess it kind of is; itâs quiet and away from people, yet you wouldnât go crazy from the loneliness because people are getting on with their lives right over there.â
âSo, sorry if this is weird and completely random, but itâs just that Iâm eager about finally being able to talk to someone who can relate⊠How was it telling your parents aboutâŠ?â
âAbout me being gay? I kind of didnât tell them really, I just brought a boy home one day and formally introduced him as one would with a girlfriend and they kind of just gathered from there... How was it for you?â
âProbably the other end of the reaction spectrum!â Seokjin laughs with embarrassment.
âIt wasnât that bad was it?â
âI mean, itâs one of those things that a funny to look back on, but dreadfully humiliating at the timeâŠâ
âSeokjinnie, stop stalling and tell me!â Taehyung demands, playfully tapping Seokjinâs shoulder.
âOh!â Seokjin gasps positively. âIs that a nickname for me?â
âHmm⊠maybeâ Taehyung leans forward with a grin. âDo you like it?â
âHmm⊠maybeâ Seokjin repeats back, also leaning in forward quite close so that the two boysâ noses almost touch
âWell you wonât be hearing it anymore if you donât tell meâ Taehyung backs away with a laugh, leaning backwards to rest his head against the garage door.
âSo I kind of underestimated how intrusive my family can beâŠâ
âOh no, they found everything, didnât they?â Taehyung asks with much empathy in his tone, tilting his head back upright, figuring that he would like to admire Seokjinâs facial features as he explains his story.
âRight down to these weird beads that I never even ended up using!â
âOh right? I actually kind of like those onesâŠâ Taehyung admits, then wondering why the heck those words just left his mouth...
âWell, you see, I prefer to stick to the frontâŠâ Seokjin openly states. âStop me talking at any time if you want by the way, I understand this isnât exactly what could be viewed as appropriate conversation materialâŠâ
âNo, no, carry on. I just like talking to youâ Taehyung beams.
âI feel awkward now because I stopped the flow of talking about the subject by directly mentioning itâŠâ
âSomehow, Iâll try and continue for you thenâŠâ Taehyung manages to assert, rather surprised, yet pleased, at how heâs managing to come out of his shell more around a cute guy. âSo by sticking to the front, is that just out of laziness, orâŠ?â
âUh, no, actually⊠Iâd say far from it, in factâ Seokjin interrupts. âI⊠I often use my imagination to like make things feel more⊠real⊠and since I know my own preferences, it just sometimes started to seem kind of weird and not as great when I would⊠put something insideâŠâ
Suddenly Taehyung feels feverish as different conclusions conjure in his head, all of a similar nature. Unsure of what he would have had Seokjin down as, if he had given it some prior thought, Taehyung doesnât know what to do with this information and its potential meaningâŠ
âI suppose although in reality, Iâm a bit of a switch, in my fantasies⊠Iâm mostly the dominant one; it gives me such a sense of excitement, you know, to be essentially in control of someone elseâs pleasure when IâŠâ
Taehyung interrupts Seokjin by urgently leaning in forward and presses his lips against the elderâs. He canât take it anymore; these feelings for Seokjin were overwhelming before today as it was without all this talk about Seokjinâs sexual preferences⊠itâs such a turn on and too much for Taehyung that it has come to this; having to stop Seokjin in his tracks before his words have too much of an effect on him⊠Although in this moment, Taehyung is unsure as to whether heâs really made matters that much simpler for himself at allâŠ
Though the kiss is forced and very in the moment, it also manages to have a tender side to it with the new and compelling feeling of Seokjinâs supple, smaller pout against Taehyungâs wider, yet still full, lips that might still be a little dry from the lack of focus he has had on himself. Taehyungâs large hand cups Seokjinâs smooth cheek which eventually releases itself of tension upon registering the intense moment.
Seokjin allows sufficient time to appreciate the kiss before backing away to speak âSee, there was a reason I pointed out that DVD earlier, you knowâŠâ he begins, running his index finger along Taehyungâs chest, pausing at a button. âI can be terrible for acting in this way, I knowâŠâ
âYou are indeed terrible SeokjinnieâŠâ Taehyung agrees, running his thumb gently along Seokjinâs cheek bone. âYouâre trying to get me worked up on purpose, arenât you?... Youâre not even going to be surprised when I tell youâŠâ
â...That all this talk about sex has affected you more than it should have?â
âUh-huhâ Taehyung instantly admits without any sense of dignity or patience, feeling humid now even though the evening air is rather breezy.
Seokjin leans back in so that his forehead presses against Taehyungâs and he closes his eyes. He can hear Taehyungâs shaky breath that he receives as nervousness, causing Seokjin to open his eyes to take in the appearance of the boy in front of him.
As Taehyung runs his tongue around his lips to give them moisture, languidly blinking a couple of times, Seokjin just has to draw Taehyung back in for another kiss by hooking his finger into Taehyungâs shirt to pull him in. This time, there is much more fire and intensity, so as Seokjin crashes his lips against Taehyungâs, the latter returns the sensation, turning the kiss into a passionate one.
A passionate kiss turns into a passionate make out as Seokjin increases the intensity by taking in the taste of Taehyung with a loose tongue, and in turn, Taehyung explores all that is Seokjin, tracing his hands along Seokjinâs neck, down to his shoulders, then his upper arms, lingering with a firm grip for a while before travelling his hands further down to lace his fingers between Seokjinâs.
Some more gentle kisses are exchanged between the two before Taehyung manages to shift his weight to lean and rise over Seokjin, guiding him back to rest his back against the cool brick wall that borders the garage door. Taehyung positions his knees on either side of Seokjinâs thighs, allowing more intimate contact⊠Possibly more intimate than the younger bargained for as his slowly hardening member presses up against Seokjinâs stomach, eliciting a muted hiss from the tip of his tongue and through gritted teeth.
âOh man, this sucksâŠâ Taehyung states with a nervous laugh, throwing his head back in frustration.
âI know rightâŠ?... It seems my plan has backfired on me if Iâm honest with youâŠâ Seokjin desperately replies with a low tone, breath shaky.
No more words are spoken as they continue to plant kisses on each otherâs lips, taking shallow breaths between each. Itâs getting increasingly difficult for either to contain themselves as each is getting more and more aroused with each second that drags by.
Seokjin can feel Taehyungâs perfect lips getting softer and his breath hitching more with each touch the elder gives him, from a caress of the face, to a needy grip of the hair at the nape of his neck, and especially as Seokjin runs his fingers down Taehyungâs back. It becomes a constant fight between Seokjin and his urge to completely have his way with Taehyung here and now⊠after all, theyâre in a public placeâŠ
âDefinitely backfiringâ Seokjin repeats the second Taehyung presses his weight against Seokjinâs now sensitive crotch.
âMaybe we could set up camp here...Iâve built something of a tent in my trousersâŠâ Taehyung jests, attempting to relieve the two of their hunger for each other by adding some humour to the atmosphere.
âNow if only we did have an actual tent though⊠That would solve our little problemâŠâ
âI know Iâm probably getting myself in way too deep here butâŠâ Taehyung begins, wrapping his arms around Seokjinâs neck. âHypothetically, what would you do if it was just us two in a tent?...â he enquires, raising his eyebrows.
âWell that all dependsâŠâ
âOn what?â
âOn what you likeâŠâ
âI would like to hear more about âin controlâ Seokjin⊠It sounds⊠hmmâŠâ he hums, tilting his head playfully â...hot.â
âWell thenâŠâ Seokjin rasps, tilting his head to the opposite side to allow his breath to be felt upon Taehyungâs lips which breaths of anticipation escape past. âFirst, Iâd tease you relentlessly, pretending to be unknowing of how Iâm making you feel⊠I like to tease, you see; I like to see what effect I can have on someone before Iâve even started⊠I have to have that sense of excelling in making someone want me for me before I get too eager to take all my clothes offâŠâ
âHow would you tease me?â the younger asks, planting a single kiss against the elderâs lips.
âHmmâŠâ Seokjin ponders. âWell, I must reach out to all your senses, so a combination of things⊠Starting with more subtle things such as unnecessarily licking my lips for you, and maybe other poses and gestures that are seemingly innocent on the surfaceâŠâ he informs as he indeed parallels his words by moistening his lips.
â...So thatâs why youâd always gaze into the air seductively when you would claim to be thinking about somethingâŠâ Taehyung responds.
âWhat do you mean âclaim to be thinkingâ?â Seokjin questions. âI could hardly have been thinking about nothing could I? Thatâs impossâŠâ
âAlright, you know what I meantâŠâ the younger rectifies. âThat you probably werenât thinking about the things you said you were like restocking, andâŠâ
âI guess you got me thereâŠâ
âI bet you were thinking about making your face look as⊠as luscious as possibleâŠâ
âThen Iâd kick it up a notchâ Seokjin interrupts. â Iâd react to things with moans, an âaccidentalâ brush against your skin, and again, itâd seem innocent and unintentional⊠But I always know exactly what Iâm doingâŠâ he growls
âDamn right you wouldâŠâ murmurs Taehyung.
âHow easily would you give in Tae?...â Seokjin asks with a grunt, dropping his head back against the wall. âWould you be patient and resilientâŠâ he begins to ask, lifting his head back up to make direct eye contact, âor would you falter at the first gesture?...â
âYou have the looks of a model and the aura of a stud⊠Of course I would give inâŠâ Taehyung declares, confidently maintaining eye contact.
âAre you weak for me Taehyungie?â
âI really am⊠Especially now youâre talking like this⊠Damn, I wish we could be somewhere else!â Taehyung sobs subtly.
âMe too⊠Youâd make such beautiful noises, I know you would⊠I just wonder how much I could change that killer deep voice of yoursâŠâ
Seokjin was intending to carry on with the talk, but stops as Taehyung stumbles to his feet and holds a hand out, offering to help Seokjin stand. Instead of reaching a hand back out, Seokjin just looks up at Taehyung with a confused expression.
âWe need to move away from hereâ Taehyung states, eyes glancing left and right wearily.
âWhere to?â Seokjin enquires, finally taking a hold of Taehyungâs hand and bringing himself up on his feet.
âWeâll figure something outâ Taehyung replies, beginning to move one foot in front of the other, causing Seokjin to follow, still holding on to the youngerâs hot sweaty palm.
The boys travel with urgency and desperation, almost brisk walking and staggering on the tips of their toes across the car park.
Leading out onto a main street through they walk down there quite innocently, now properly holding hands, fingers intertwined, Seokjin making sure to be on the outer side nearer to the road, almost as if he is protecting the younger. The city lights that have a recent glow to them seem hazy under the heavy eyes of the two infatuated boys that seek privacy to fulfil each otherâs desires.
âItâs kind of ridiculous how few places one can actually get away from the world in peace, huh?; considering that everyone out here is minding there own business, not even caring for what goes on in the distanceâ states Taehyung, still scanning the streets for even a hint to the answer he seeks.
âI guess so⊠I suppose really itâs just because the chance of being caught is still there nonetheless, causing us to be more waryâ answers Seokjin. âUm, you can tell me if Iâm being way too forward here, but⊠Weâre actually not far from where I liveâŠâ
Taehyung flashes Seokjin an inviting smile âMan, why didnât you say that earlier?â
âAs I told you TaeâŠâ Seokjin grins, tightening the grip on Taehyungâs hand and now swaying the control of the path they lead to his instruction, âIâm a bit of a teaseâŠâ
Seokjin leads as the boys rush through the gateway and the elder searches the pocket of his hoodie for the house key. The lock rattles as Seokjinâs shaky hand attempts to unlock the door
âNice place youâve got!...â Taehyung exclaims.
Seokjin hushes the younger boy: âThereâs one thing I should have mentioned before; thereâs like a 50-50 chance that my housemate will be inâŠ.â he explains, cut off by a voice unknown to Taehyung.
âHey Seokjin, man! What time do youâŠâ A face appears to be paired with the voice and the housemate registers the arrival of a guest and stops in his tracks.
The housemate appears to be just as enthusiastic about music as Taehyung himself is, the latter notes, observing the headphones that rest around the boyâs neck.
âAh, Yoongi, this is TaehyungâŠâ Hesitantly, Seokjin tries to introduce his guest to his house mate âHeâs my⊠friendâŠâ
âAlrightâŠâ Yoongi unsurely voices. âNice to meet you Taehyung. Donât mean to be rude but I.... was... actually... about to go to bed⊠yeah, soâŠâ
âPerfect!â Seokjin is quick to say out loud. âUh⊠I mean, cool, yeahâ he corrects to which Yoongi lets out a chuckle.
âYou kids have funâ Yoongi tells the two, obviously having caught on to the nature of Seokjin and Taehyungâs relationship. He exits swiftly, placing his headphones over his ears.
Seokjin awkwardly looks down to the floor whilst Yoongi exits to his room as Taehyung lifts Seokjinâs chin with his index finger and the younger raises his eyebrows suggestively once eye contact is made.
âI donât know why youâre raising your âbrows at me like that Taehyungie⊠Weâre gonna have to be hella quiet; are you sure you can handle that?â
âLooks like Iâm going to have to, doesnât it?â the younger smiles back, taking a hold of Seokjinâs hand.
