Yes, thank you, OP! I know the books are only secondary canon, but you can see this so much in Lucas on the Line in how Eddie treats Lucas. Lucas was genuinely struggling during his freshman year trying to try new things through the support of his peer mentor (I love that this is an included bit. I didn't get one my freshman year of high school cause of a disaster, but my college one was amazing). But because Lucas decided to try things like basketball, Eddie flat-out refused to let Lucas join Hellfire nearly all of fall semester. It wasn't until the end when a substitute was needed that he let Lucas join. This led to a huge fight between Lucas and the other two and, frankly, I'm surprised that Lucas so readily believed Eddie was innocent come Spring Break after having dealt with bullying from others in both his extracurriculars for varied reasons. In fact, if it wasn't for Max literally witnessing it and Jason going completely off the rails then, he probably wouldn't have. (I could be projecting though)
I also refuse to believe that Jonathan got along with Eddie at all while he was at Hawkins High. So many authors write that too just because Eddie was a drug-dealer and Jonathan smoked pot in season 4. But it was brought up several times by Jonathan himself as well as others that he didn't have friends (till Nancy) and went out of his way to avoid others. He avoided the mainstream cause he just didn't like it and was also extremely busy between work (in season 1 at least), his family, and photography. Eddie is so over-the-top with his general personality that I think if Jonathan still seems to avoid Steve after he calmed down in later seasons, I doubt he could have been around Eddie for any length of period.
listen, I- I cant help but think every time i see will and eddie interact in fics, that will would not have liked eddie like
at all
Eddie? is a dick.
and like maybe this is me just being insane, but i think will's love of Dnd comes from an actual love and appreciation for character and story and a love of his friends and his community he found playing dnd. It gave him an outlet, it let him express himself, it let him be brave and when you see him trying so hard to come back to that in season 3, you see he uses it as a way to express what he's going through. But most importantly, Will plays dnd because he loves his friends.
eddie is so rigid with his dnd obsession. He uses it as a way to control things, to (honesty) control people. He uses it to build himself a throne. A LITERAL THRONE SITS AT THE HEAD OF THE HELLFIRE TABLE. The party always played at a square table, they all looked at each other, all equal, all on the same playing field. But eddie, he's different. Even at lunch you see him sit at the head of the table. He gets up and walks across them, he shouts, he draws attention to them, invites the tormenting almost, and i don't think will would have liked the way Eddie was constantly bringing attention to himself and, in turn, hellfire as a whole. Eddie uses dnd to antagonize, to start shit, as a marker of his "fuck it" attitude
Will would not have felt safe in hellfire. Eddie's "forced conformity is killing the kids" monologue is such bullshit. Hellfire would have suffocated will. Not because i think will couldn't stand up for himself or hold his own against Eddie, but Dustin and Mike are so enamored with Eddie, they fall in line and worship the guy, so much so that they are willing to ditch Lucas and his game! Will never would have stood for that. Will would have been at Lucas's game. No DnD party is worth it to him if its not with his party
"But, what if you wanna join another party?"
"Not possible"
Are we all just, collectively forgetting this? Like are we just blacking out here? Now yes, this is very byler, but its not just about Mike. Its about Lucas and Dustin too. Its about El, and now Max. Its about his people.
Eddie actively tore apart the party under the guise of being "dedicated to dnd" but the only thing eddie is dedicated to is himself and serving his best interest. At least he was in hellfire.
and yeah, idk, i feel like this is an unpopular opinion, but these are just my thoughts. feel free to share yours.

The Better Than You Bay Bay story is something special.
Tumblr media
I'm worried that my specific sentiment may be cliched but despite these worries, I'm going to talk about masculinity in wrestling.
You see I have often heard the sentiment that wrestling portrays a exaggerated version of masculinity designed to capture the minds of a predominantly male fanbase. And this is for the most part true. The Hulkamania Era was about a statuesque American hero using his giant physique to expel foreigners and Randy Savage. The Attitude Era was about a beer swigging, ass kicking, badass beating the sh*t out of his asshole boss and those who associated him (I know it's a bit of a simplification). And throughout the years Wrestling has been a masculine thing where masculine men put their masculinity on the line to prove who was best. This isn't me admonishing wrestling, by the way, I love it and have loved it for years and it's ties to masculine ideals aren't a detriment. But it does make it cool when Wrestling stories or character challenge traditional expectations of masculinity and expressions of a male gender identity.
Now sometimes I don't know if these moments are great or that they are so rare that all appear to better than they are. For example during the early days of Cody Rhodes' 2023 feud with Brock Lesner he stated that he was scared of Brock Lesner, that anyone would be and that he was scared but he had to persevere and fight. This was cool, Brock Lesner is f*cking scary and in admitting this Cody presents (in my eyes) as a more real and relatable human person rather than what many other wrestlers present as, some almighty warriors with no fear. Which, to be clear, is fine but it's nice to see other things.
Better Than You Bay Bay is definitely great. And I appreciate Cole and MJF have done concerning masculinity. In one of their first segments as a team they went to the gym acting like toxic gym bros, max made fun of a man for being overweight and while Cole told him it was wrong he transitioned it into a dig at Tony Schiavone. In a following one Max saw some women at a bar and tried to convince Adam to stop being all lame and loyal to his girlfriend and 'bang some chicks' with him to which Cole refused. Next they had a heart-to-heart over a video game with Max opening up and Cole offering support.
Then at the World Tag Title match on Collision MJF puts himself in harm's way to save his friend ultimately costing them the tag titles because he wanted to keep Cole safe. After the match MJF breaks down and is emotionally distraught. Cole does all he can to console Max but Max feels like a failure and like he has let down the one person who, not only he cares about. But the one person who cares about him. And he nearly betrays Adam right here retreating into the scumbag persona that people expect, attacking Cole killing their friendship like it never mattered. But it does matter. It matters to the fans, to Adam Cole and it matters to MJF. So he can't bring himself to betray his friend because he cares too much about Adam Cole, because he loves Adam Cole.
The following Dynamite Max talks candidly about his disability, his mental health and his relationship with Adam Cole. The two share the ring again and Adam takes the time to compliment Max's recent growth marvelling at "the man [he] has become". The two hug to end the segment.
I don't feel I need to spend that much longer explaining this. It's nice that Cole called out Max for being a little sh*t, it's lovely that MJF was open and vulnerable, it's beautiful that the two hugged imploding because MJF caused them to lose, it's beautiful that Adam talked about the man Max is becoming and this story as a whole is special.
In conclusion, this was...um...idk a blog post I guess. But in all fairness don't give to much weight to my thoughts on masculinity, I am a trans woman and not someone who should be an authority on matters of masculinity. But I wanted to talk about it because I think this is a special story and why do I write these posts if not to talk about wresting in a poignant way.
This has been Undisputed Queer-a.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Was the year time jump because of the pandemic? To sidestep making that too central to the plot, or was that always the plan?
JEANINE MASON: That was always our intention and it was just sort of a saving grace in that way. We also don't acknowledge the pandemic in real-time on our show. There are no masks and that was just so wonderful just to get work in that way and have that time where it was a little more normal. Also, that's just our show — we want you to come to us the way you always do, which is for nineties nostalgia, sexy Cowboys, brilliant scientists, you know? CHRIS HOLLIER: So we wanted to drop our characters in a year later, let them stew in their individual decisions that were made last season. We want everyone to root for our poster couple but we want to honor what happens in real life, which is sometimes you step away from that person, even if you are entwined with them in a very particular way. So we wanted it to be a real enough time and distance so that they could live a little life on their own.
With showrunner Carina Adly MacKenzie departing at the end of season 2, has much changed? Or are you still working with ideas she had in place?'
HOLLIER: It's a little bit of both. There are things that Carina and I built that live all the way through and then once the story got up on its feet, discoveries were made with our new crop of people that we were like, "Oh, we're going to bend it this other way."
Jeanine, how is Liz doing in her new life in L.A. when we pick up this season?
MASON: Well, it's been a year and at this point, her life is actually pretty great. She just hasn't taken a second to acknowledge that. She's doing what she does best, which is just full head in her work and trying to figure out what she could use of her discoveries and her brilliance to save Maria. She has a great job, a really nice place, and an awesome partner at work who is a good time and a real match for her in terms of intellect and ambition. He begins to ask her to recognize that and to maybe give something a chance that she's been reluctant to because of how drawn she is to Roswell and to Max. It's a fun first episode. It's sexy. It's fun to find opportunities for her. She's our hero so she's got a lot on her shoulders and anytime where we can find levity for her is always a real treat for the writers and for me.
And no Crashdown waitress uniform must be nice?
MASON: Honestly, I miss it quite a lot right now. I have a note in my notes with Chris, I'm like, "I gotta tell him we gotta find him more opportunities for it."
Should Liz and Max shippers be worried about them finding their way back to one another after he destroyed her work and didn't follow her to L.A.? Should we resign ourselves to a season apart?
MASON: This season really is about these characters having themselves mirrored to each other. Max and Liz need some growing and ultimately they can't do anything but be orbiting each other. We found so many opportunities to have such a beautiful language around the cosmic element of their connection. They're asking, "Is this our decision, or are we just acting off of a decision that the cosmos made for us?" It was so fun to navigate that. I always have such a good time with Chris Hollier and with Nathan Dean, just finding the little tiny notches, a tiny bit of movement towards where they're going next. I really loved following them. It's my favorite Max and Liz season to date.
HOLLIER: It's not a season apart. I'll tease that they, in an unexpected way, end up in front of each other relatively soon. But it's really about when am I ready? And what does it mean to talk to my ex? When someone makes such a big influence in your life, when do you know it's over and when do you know you should fight again? We tried to give them real grown-up lives.
Steven Krueger (The Originals) also joined the cast as Heath this season. What can you tease about his character?
HOLLIER: He's just an awesome human being. I know him from The Originals and we were like, "If we're going to have to be stuck with people in the desert, who do we want?" You want to be stuck with a handsome and lovely and charming Steven Krueger. So really this was looking at, "Well, what did Liz want and what does it look like when you start to give Liz versions of what she wants?" Heath is somebody that is beyond being just a lovely person, he is smart and wants to advance science and that's appealing to Liz. It becomes, "What does it look like when the man that I hang around with all day is also into the same things that I am?" MASON: I love him. Heath is just such a fun, whip-smart, fantastic character. His humor was so fun. We've been having a good time with kicking the humor up really through season two and in season three, we just took it up another notch. There are some moments that are like, "Is this a drama or is it a sitcom?" Looking back on it, he was such a fun partner to spar with. They're both such intellectual characters and I love that there's a real meeting of the minds. It makes it competitive and sexy. I know a lot of fans are so excited because they know him from The Originals and he's going to be a great addition.
Technically, Mr. Jones is a new character too. Can you tell us anything at all about him?
HOLLIER: I'd say he's a new character — and a fully-fleshed interesting new character. Mr. Jones has an awesome beard. At some point, he might lose that beard. A lot of people are asking me, "Is Jones good or bad?" And what I would argue is that's a perspective based upon who you are in the conversation that you're having with him. He knows a lot about our heroes' story and he knows a lot about home. He'll be able to answer questions for them. This season our heroes will get to learn why they ended up here on earth. One of the things I think that people will love is that they're going to get to see that home planet this year. We asked ourselves a lot about this whole season, "What have we set up for the past two?" We look at these first three seasons almost like a trilogy so a lot of things are going to be paid off.
Has Nathan enjoyed pulling double duty this season? Or is he just exhausted?
MASON: He's exhausted, but he's such a champ. That really is the beginning of this mirroring thing that starts with Max and Jones with him actually getting to look at himself to a degree and those questions that come up. The self-analysis that it provokes in him is really the beginning of what is happening to all of our characters this year; everybody's being confronted with themselves. I loved that the Max/Jones of it was also a real sci-fi element.
Did he really grow that beard or was that not possible if he had to go between the two characters?
MASON: That was a prosthetic beard and our makeup team killed it. He was not accustomed to early mornings, which, of course, all of us babes are. It was a lot of extra time in the chair for him.
Can Jones dupe Liz into thinking he's actually Max since she doesn't know he exists?
MASON: You're totally on to something. It's a real and pressing threat. I mean, she's totally in the dark and he looks like her cosmic lover!
HOLLIER: What I will say is that, Liz — beyond her being number one on the call sheet — is integral to this story in a way that she and none of our characters are going to perceive when they start episode one. We're bringing [the characters] to a new crossroads moment in their lives and they're getting, through Jones, a mirror into their own lives to decide what they're going to become next.
How's Rosa (Amber Midthunder) doing this season?
MASON: By the end of season two, Rosa really makes the decision to start taking care of herself. She really becomes an incredible asset to the Scooby-Doo gang. It's something that Liz is in constant adjustment to. As much as she's the younger sister, she feels very protective of her sister and Liz has had to make adjustments in her trust and faith in Rosa. I loved it because it just felt like a real personal, authentic thing that sisters would go through, but also that Hispanic sisters would go through. I think we sometimes, culturally, have a tendency to baby our women — maybe that's the wrong word — but just to underestimate their physical ability and what they might take on, and sort of 'queen' our women in a way where we treat them tenderly. I hate that. I'm a tough bitch and so is Rosa. So Liz has to confront that and go, "I'm an idiot to underestimate you. You've done nothing but prove me wrong."
What about Maria and her visions?
HOLLIER: This year I think Maria has the most complete arc of any season, as she recognizes things about herself that cause more questions about who she is, who her family is, how she's linked to this story. We dive into it in the present-day and we dive deliciously back in time too.
In the exclusive clip above we see her have a vision of a funeral, can you tease anything about who potentially might be about to die?
HOLLIER: Maria is front and center in driving the first half of the mystery for us. She's burdened with trying to figure out whose death she is seeing. It takes a few episodes to unravel and we use it to ask, is this linked to our supernatural stories or real-world stories that are going on politically? Is it bad luck? Is it herself? There's a whole gambit at play. We joke that we solved a past murder, now we're going to try to stop one.
Can Malex (Michael and Alex) shippers have hope that this might finally be their time?
HOLLIER: What I would say is that I think that Malex fans are really going to dig this journey. We, as writers, put them at the same level of importance as Max and Liz. So we wanted to really honor the next step in what they may or may not be. How did they grow up and how did they have those hard conversations just like Liz and Max are going to have?
Is Isobel going to continue to date women this season?
HOLLIER: Isobel is going to go on a more personal journey. You got to love yourself before you can love someone else. We lean into those possibilities by the end of who she might love. It's not something that is dropped all season — it is something that you'll see. We play some romantic comedy stuff with her character this year and with Maria that I think fans are gonna dig. There's a lot going on in the world and wanted to pump some humor and hope into it.
Will see more of Liz fighting to challenge the perception of the Latinx community?
MASON: I think that just by nature of it being one of such few shows that are led by a Latin woman, it's always going to be, to an extent, a protest or an assertion of the space that I get to fill and that Liz Ortecho gets to fill on network TV. I was really excited to just have Chris as a collaborator. Over our hiatus, before the season started, I was doing a lot of reading. I chronicled the books that play into Liz every season on my Instagram. I was reading some Sonia Sotomayor. Her book is just incredible. I was texting him screenshots of pages of the book with things underlined. Ten episodes deep into season 3, he's like, "Remember that page you sent me?" He's a real dream collaborator. I loved him for that. A pressing struggle for people of color is going through the ranks in these big corporations and then sometimes coming to find out that those corporations are purporting to support marginalized groups but actually aren't following through. So how do you, as someone who's having your success, your dreams become reality, navigate supporting the company and giving so much of your intelligence and your work — that they often legally own, especially with science — to a company that isn't going to be for your people?
Roswell, New Mexico returns Monday at 8 p.m. on The CW.

Don’t Push me, I’m too close to the edge.

𝐀/𝐍: I just wanna thank y’all for the 400 followers 🥰 and this took a bit longer than expected but ya know that how depression works. But this is probably this longest this that I have ever written this app and who knows maybe this will be a regular thing for me
𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 3.5𝐤 this shit long asf to me but it’s worth it I promise.
𝐁𝐭𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 2 𝐭𝐨 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬
After wrapping up with Dabi you had to find some excuse to email your professor. Ultimately it came down to you your cat jumping on your computer. But, you really didn’t have much time to worry about that before he was pulling you into the shower. He took his time washing you up and planting tender kisses on your skin. You couldn’t help but cling to your man as your knees were still weak from your scene. Dabi had to ‘work’ but you really know that means he needed to ride around and hit licks. He always gave you the choice of coming along or staying at the house and more than likely you’d go. It was fun to ride around with a boyfriend that was the plug while anticipating the return of your dreamy college boy.
“ You coming with me today, or you stayin’ in?” He asked wrapping you up in a towel and placing you pert on the bathroom counter. Dabi took his time to put toothpaste on both your and his toothbrush and handed you yours.
“ I don’t know.” You said kicking your feet. Dabi rolled his eyes before spitting into the sink. But in your defense it was a tough decision riding with Dabi was always interesting,sometimes you wondered who were these people that he sold too? But you knew that Keigo plans for you. Your train of thought was derailed by your impatient boyfriend.
“ Are you gonna stay here and wait for Keigo, or do you want to come with me and see him when we come back?” He explained with a hint of annoyance in his voice.
“Do you want me to come with you?” You teased although you’d made your decision mimicking his actions of spitting in the sink.
“Don’t be a brat.” He warned. “ Matter of fact you’re staying here I don’t need your bratty ass in my passenger seat tempting me today. I like it when you’re a good little assistant. Keigo will take care of that.” He said. The two of you finished brushing your teeth and he rushed to get ready while you simply put on a pair of shorts and a t-shirt.
Dabi got dressed in the usual white v-neck, black jacket, and jeans. He made sure to leave you money to get whatever you wanted to get and gave you and kiss on the forehead. You knew he’d be back sometime tonight so you didn’t worry too much because he always came back. In the meantime, there was perfect blonde with golden eyes that was due home any second and you couldn’t wait. It wasn’t too long before Keigo returned, it was Friday and he didn’t have any more classes.
Not long after your pizza arrived and you finally found something to watch you heard keys in the door. It was only a few minutes after Dabi pulled off, it was either him forgetting something or Keigo's test was a breeze. Much to your surprise it was Keigo he always took like the max amount of time on his test. He was delighted to see you perched on the sofa.
“ Keigo!” You chirped upon his arrival.
“Hello, my songbird.” He huffed the exhaustion seeped through normally chipper tone, before he threw himself on the sofa.
“How was your test?” You asked, twisting your blanket nervously.
“It was bullshit.” Keigo answers. “But at least it’s over now and there’s pizza.” He said, kicking his feet up on the coffee table.
It was quiet for a while as the only sound was that the dull roar of the tv. You weren’t even paying attention to the movie anymore because every twenty seconds you gazed over to your boyfriend sitting at the other end of the sofa, not paying you any mind. The longer he sat there scrolling through his phone the needier you grew. You had been waiting on this return all day just the be ignored. You could feel your bottom lip poking out as your eyebrows stiffened into a straight line.
Still, without paying you any mind Keigo picked up his backpack and started rummaging through it. Eventually, he pulled out a zip-lock baggie filled halfway with special flowers, following that came a pack of Honey backwoods and another pack of Russian cream’s. Those were for Dabi. You sat there and watched him roll up, the way that he could lick a wood to perfection always intrigued you. He sent you to fetch him a lighter and reluctantly obliged. One he sparked it and hit it a few times then he passed it to you. You didn’t smoke nearly as much before you met Dabi but it started getting out of hand when you moved in with him and Keigo, you were beginning to act like them smoking yourself stupid everyday.
He looked so good when he was smoking. The way he effortlessly inhaled the clouds of smoke. The two of you passed the wood until it was a stinger. Your eyelids felt like weights. Smoking always made you horny and you were already in anticipation waiting for Keigo’s return. You sat there feeling as if you were moving faster than the world around you. It was like you were hyper fixated on trying to figure out what he was thinking, was he doing it on purpose, or were you just that horny?
“Are you high Princess?” He asks with a laugh, breaking you out of thought. What kind of question was that? Of course, you were. All you could manage a nod and chuckle. “That’s good.” He began. “You know if I fail my test it’ll kinda be your fault.” He said with a laugh looking over to you.
“My fault?!” You scoffed dramatically.
“Yeah, your fault, the only thing in my head during the whole exam was you.” He leaned over to roughly knead your breast. And every time I tried to solve an equation all I could hear were your whorish moans in my ear.” He explained.
“Oh shut up.” You said snatching yourself away from his touch.
“I’m serious, and the worst part was I got a boner in the middle of it so then I really really couldn’t focus.” He didn’t spare any detail retelling the agony he was in. “But now I’m home with you to put my out of my misery.” A deviant smirk crept across his face before he forcefully tugged your shirt causing your body to fall forward. There was an unmistakable lustful fire in his eyes.
He abruptly left the couch returning with a white box with pink lettering. A gift? Or at least you thought it was a gift but that theory was debunked when you saw Keigo tear into the box himself. Seconds later he unceremoniously revealed a pink and white Hitachi wand, it was custom with your name monogrammed on the handle. It was nice and you wished that he would let you have it but you knew for a fact that wasn’t happening but he could at least show it to you. And he did eventually, looking at the toy excited you even more, and at this point, it was teetering on the brink of torture. Maybe this is what Keigo was talking about.
He told you everything about the toy, it was rechargeable, wireless it had 14 different modes and it was special, he ordered it just for you. You stared up at him wide-eyed practically begging him to play with you, yet still he was acting clueless. By now you had figured out that he was doing it on purpose it wanted you desperate, you were typically too shy to beg but the boys were known for pushing your limits. Keigo locked eyes with you and the two of you shared an intense gaze you wore the looking of longing plainly on your face, silently submitting to him.
“Do you wanna try it?” He asked nonchalantly.
“Yeah.”
“Me too but I have an idea.” He began and his sadistic smile returned. “I’m gonna edge you, yeah that’s what I decided until I get my test scores back depending on what I get we’ll see when I let you cum.” He explained. It was like he had it all figured out. Like he had been planning it. Perhaps that’s what he had been so quiet since his arrival.
You were still up in the clouds but his idea had brought you back down to Earth surely there was no way that he wouldn’t let you cum for who knows how long and there’s no way that Dabi would be able to hold you to it, or would he. That sadistic motherfucker will probably love the idea, anything that would turn you into even more of a needy bitch. You still hadn’t replied, the idea was just sitting in your mind, there was no way that you could tell him no just look at that face, besides he wasn’t asking anyways.
“Oh but I still want head.”
“How is that fair?” You whined.
Meanwhile, Keigo got up from the couch once again. This time he came back with the bondage tape. What the hell was going on in that barbarous mind of his. Suddenly you felt his grasp on your arm pulling you right into his lap.
“C’mere.” was the only warning he gave.You could feel his erection through the bearly there material of your shorts. A small whimper fell from your mouth at the friction, not to go unnoticed.
He made quick work Undressing you, it was a miracle that you never wore underwear in the house or hardly at all for that matter. Instantly his attention focused on your leaking slit. “ Oh my God look at your sloppy little cunt.” He said swiping the pads of his fingers over your clit causing you to shutter in response.
Keigo was sicker than Dabi he liked to torture you but he truly got off on pushing your limits Dabi just got off on the idea of humiliating you. He rested his hand on the top of your tummy lightly tapping his fingertips on your skin. A subtle arch of you back was giving away just how needed you were. Continuing his teasing he ran his fingers over your slick core. After he’d gathered a good amount of your fluid on his fingertips he brought his fingers to his mouth, tasting your arousal. Your hole quivered in response, but the real kick was when you found his wet fingers resting in your bottom lip. Obeying his request you sucked his fingers into your mouth tasting the mixture of your fluids.
He praised you with a smile before he pulled off a strip of tape. Lining the head of the Hitachi up with your clit he taped it into place, he added another strip of tape at the bottom of the wand securing it in place. Then he turned it on low and the small vibrations began to stimulate your cunt and you pulled a lustful face.
“Remember little bird you aren’t allowed to cum.” His eyes darkened before he spoke again. “You don’t wanna find out what’ll happen if you disobey me.” He finished, you nodded your head in agreement. It wasn’t enough for him he locked his hands in your curls pulling your head back and allowing your mouth to fall open. “Do you understand me?”
“Yes Sir.” You gulped as Keigo turned up the vibrations. Now they were a bit intense and you found yourself involuntarily bucking your hips every now and then.
“Perfect” Keigo agreed before sliding you off of his lap. He pulled out his already stiff dick, the tip was red, oozing with precum and your favorite part, decorated with a red titanium Prince Albert piercing. You licked your lips upon laying eyes on his member, someone’s hungry. “C’mere then you little slut.” He said roughly grasping the back of your neck to bring your mouth to meet his dick. “Keep your legs together, gotta make sure we keep that nast clit stimulated.” He said with a chuckle.
You were a superb cocksucker, Dabi made sure of that. So Keigo didn’t really have to do much. He just sat back and relaxed as your head bobbed up and down. Lewd noises began to fall from his mouth, it was like the vibrations from your pussy turned into moans around his dick. A heavy hand rested on the back of your head as you continued working away, Keigo then snaked his hands between your legs turning the vibrations up to the max. You gagged on his dick at the sudden change of intensity, the hand on the back of your head became more forceful pushing you down on his cock while his hip rutted into your face.
“Yeah just like that princess. Keigo praised. Your pussy was gushing by this point, throbbing and clasping down on the emptiness you felt. The low guttural moans turned into lustful whines. Keigo withdrew his dick from your mouth with a pop just in time to paint your face with hot thick ropes of cum. That mixed with the slobber made you into a perfect mess. You were still mewling at the vibrator stuck between your legs to overcome with pleasure to think. “Now let’s see how much of a mess your pussy is now.”
He had you lay on your back legs spread finally allowing the Hitach to ease off of your clit. The toy still buzzed frantically Against your inner thigh causing ripples in the soft skin Keigo ran his fingers over your clit once more and you shuttered hard at his touch. “Sensitive now aren’t we?” He laughed, still brushing light circles on your clit bringing to the edge rather quickly.
“Please, Sir.” You moaned. “C-can I c-uuummm please sir.” You said gripping the sofa cushions underneath you.
“There’s no time sweetheart.” He said, pulling out his phone and unlocking it quickly before Turning it off and putting it back into his pocket. “Dabi’s almost home, go wait at the door for him. I want him to see my masterpiece.” He said with a smug grin.
~~~~~~~~~~
Dabi walked through the door and he was visibly taken back by you sitting at the door waiting with a full face paint and a vibrator attached to your leg, Jesus Keigo. Dabi was disappointed that he wasn’t creative enough to think of something like that. He felt his cock twitch instantly in his jeans upon laying eyes on you. It was like something that he could only dream of. How did Keigo get you to agree to something like this?
“Hi, beautiful.” He said looking down at you on your knees before him with half lidded eyes and his forehead cocked back trying his best to conceal his excitement. “Looks like you got a neat little face paint going on here.” He said, examining Keigo’s work. It took seconds for Dabi’s cock to be straining against his zipper.
“D-addy.” You whined as the Hitachi was still pressed to your aching cunt. Keigo finally spoke up from the corner of the room.
“A doll isn’t she?” He was wearing the widest grin.Strolling proudly over to Dabi he created him with a kiss. Your black haired boyfriend gripped the blonde's jaw asserting his dominance in the interaction before pushing him away. The blonde stumbled backwards itha a grin on his face. Your hole shivered from the ongoing vibrations and the hotness of the scene in front of you let out a loud lewd moan uncontrollably, throwing your head back.
“Yeah a twisted like doll.” Dabi answered.
“ I’m edging her. Think she can take it?” He explained regaining his balance strolling over to pat your head.
“Oh, this princess? No way.” He said nudging your knee with the tip of his boot. Your face was buried in Dabi’s crotch while two men just chatted about you as if you weren’t in the room.
Keigo whisked you away to the living room with Dabi in tow of course, the pervert was going to watch. Keigo laid you down pressing your knees apart, shoving them up towards your ears. Your sensitive bud was temporarily relieved from the vibe. He was inspecting you, he could see your clit jumping from the overstimulation.
“Dabi looking, she’s dancing.” Keigo cheered. Dabi came over to look and he was right, your little pink nub was jumping up and down. Keigo shoved his pants down and sat beside you before pulling you to straddle his lap with you back to his chest.
It wasn’t a second before his dick was inside of you and a horrible groan fell from your lips from his insertion. It’s impossible you are going to bust. He was making you ride him with each of your feet planted on either side of him. You couldn’t help it, you screamed as your hips bucked off of his dick, body trying to run from the overwhelming sensation. Keigo’s grip was tight on your hips as he pulled you down forcing you to fuck yourself on his entire length. Through the fresh tears that welled in your eyes you could see Dabi sitting on the other couch with his dickin in his hand, pumping it mercilessly. The look in his eye was unlike anything you’d ever seen from him.
Keigo could sense your loss of focus and bucked his hips into you, hitting that sensitive spot within you. Now you were seeing stars, howling for release.
“Dabi I think she wants you to play to” Keigo said
“Well that’s all you had to say Princess. Dabi said, ejecting himself from the sofa and positioning himself in front of you and Keigo. You weren’t even given the chance to part your lips before once again Keigo had a rough hand in your hair yanking it causing you mouth to fall open, giving Dabi the perfect opportunity to slip into your mouth. The cold of his Jacobs ladder piercings provided a nice contrast to the heat of your tongue.
Your moans and screams were now choked as you sputtered around Dabis base, your neck taught trying to push for any resistance you could. Eventually you were granted a break, your lung swelled with air and your first exhale was used to beg for mercy. Your words came out broken as the man beneath you continued snapping his hips to meet yours.
“Pl-lug-ease sir I need to cum I-I can’t hold it anymore.” You whined breathlessly.
“God I know.” Keigo moaned. “The way you are fucking milking me I’m gonna-.” He didn’t even finish his sentence before he emptied himself inside you. When he pulled out there were long ribbons of your stifled arousal mixed with his that connected the two of you. “See Princess I knew you could do it.” He said as he reached around you to give you cunt a slap. “Told ya.” He tossed in looking up at Dabi taunting him with a wink.
Your body was nearly limp as Dabi moved aside to allow Keigo to peel you off of him, placing you on the couch on your back once more. This time the room is spinning and you know that you can’t take anymore stimulation without release. To you delight the vibrator was finally turned off and the buzzing cesed, however your clit was raw. You whimpered when you felt his soft wet muscle. It wasn’t long before he bypassed your nub and his tongue prodded at your quivering hole. It wasn’t for you, Keigo's slender tongue hastily lapped up the mixture of you two. Quickly withdrawing himself before walking over to Dabi. One of his hands caressed his jaw before he brought his lips to meet those of the dark haired man.
Unlike before, Dabi leaned into the kiss with an eagerness. Keigo hand then moved to clutch his still hard dick. He then began to stroke him. You watched dreamily through half lidded eyes, the sight was titillating to say the least. Your eyes dragged over your spent form, knowing that you couldn’t take anymore. Soon thick white ropes were shooting from Dabi’s cock, each one landing on your exposed belly skin leaving a warm aura around them.
“You just came for me fire crotch.” Keigo teased.
“Shut the fuck up.” Dabi said shoving him away before stuffing himself back into his pants. Dabi disappeared into the room emerging with a warm towel.
Keigo left to find you comfy clothes, he came back with a pair of fuzzy shorts and your favorite of his hoodies. While Dabi was cleaning up your face Keigo was untapping the vibrator at last. Once everything was done and you were all cleaned up and changed the boys cuddled into either side of you. Your head was in Dabi’s lap as he gingerly brushed your curls into a bun and your feet were in Keigo's lap and he was playing ‘this little piggy’ with your toes.
It then dawned on you that you had still yet to cum. A deep aching called to you and you whimpered in response.
“Ready for more, eh princess?”
The Player's Tribune: I will never forget the tears I shed that day
Article published 25 March 2021, originally written by Yuki Tsunoda in Japanese.
I translated the article with help from Google Translate and Naver Translator + my own interpretations of their rubbish translating, so apologies in advance for any mistakes! Anything I had trouble translating will be bolded with a (?) next to it!!
 I think that was the last time I cried in frustration, in regret.
 Four years ago, I was only 16 years old and was a student at Suzuka Circuit Racing School. It was the final selection to join Honda's Driver Development Program. If I pass, I can run in Japanese F4 the following year, but if I failed...I was thinking of quitting racing at that time.
 Now, I'm standing at the entrance of the stage called F1. Looking back, that was the turning point of my life.
 Of course, I didn't know if I would pass that year's trial because there were not only those who had already run in F4 but also some drivers who had come back from overseas.
 However, I've been racing in karts since I was four years old, and I've been doing well. That year, I was the youngest ever podium finisher in my debut race in the Japanese F4 championship, which allowed me to participate in the spot (?) race, and won the Super FJ Japan's first championship. At the selection test, there were good results until the final round of selection, and I was in a position to compete for first and second place overall. So I thought I could afford to make a big mistake in the final selection, and I was confident that I would still be in the top two in the end.
 I am a strong driver. But if you can't get results here or if you can't fascinate the judges with your running, it's already known (?). So I was prepared to give up my racing career if it didn't work. I think there were many other routes to go, such as running in other training programs or non-formal races, but I don't like it when it's not the direction I want to go. I decided to live a different life rather than to do it half-heartedly.
 However, the worst result awaited. At that time, I was very weak mentally and, of all things, it showed in the final round. Even before the race, I found myself tense and stiff. My fingertips were also stiff. I was not my usual self. I started like that, but suddenly I was flying...I had to drive through the pitlane and then rejoin the course. I felt like I was running alone, far away from the previous group. I felt sorry for myself, and I didn't even feel like running anymore. As a result, the points in that race were almost zero, and Tsunoda lost in the final round.
 I was so frustrated that tears welled up naturally on the train home. It was the first time since I started racing in earnest. I was the youngest among the participants, but I was shocked because I was confident that I wouldn't lose, and I couldn't imagine anything even if I tried to think about the future. I still remember clearly that I was so depressed that I didn't even want to see my parents on my way home from the Shinkansen.
 But there was only one faint hope. That was what the then Honda F4 coach said in an interview after the screening.
 "As a training driver for Honda, you will not be able to participate in the race next year, since the Formula 4 Honda has four cars. Maybe I can put you in one of the remaining two cars running as Suzuka Racing School."
 That was because former Formula One driver Satoru Nakajima recommended me. Mr. Nakajima was the principal of the school at that time, and at the time of the final selection, he was watching us run in the final chicane.
 I was given a penalty at the start, and I was racing without emotion, but I was running hard so that I wouldn't regret it. Through the visor, I saw Satoshi Nakajima standing in the final corner. I didn't want to show Mr. Nakajima a careless run. It was a hopeless ranking, but I thought I should not give up until the end and keep running toward the group in front of me. Then the road opened.
 In 2017, Suzuka Racing decided to enter me into F4 instead of making me a training driver. Then, I suddenly ranked 3rd overall in the annual overall ranking, and the following year in 2018, I was selected as a Honda Formula Dream Project driver, and was able to become the champion.
 It's all because I was frustrated at that final selection.
 The most unusual thing is that I think it's mental. Until I had a setback, I had a feeling that I would do well until the end without doing anything. I knew I wasn't good at starting even though I failed in the previous round, and I had time to practice before that, but I didn't. There was something sweet about overconfidence. And at that time, I was afraid of making mistakes, so I didn't know how to grow up.
 After failing the selection, I realized that I was still not perfect and that I had to be faster. I realized that it is important to make a lot of mistakes without fear of making mistakes, and to make new discoveries and grow from there. Therefore, I didn't feel impatient when I didn't get points as I wanted in the early part of the F3 and F2 seasons last year after I went abroad. Rather, there was no hesitation in the process of making a lot of mistakes first and learning a lot from them.
 Takuma Sato, a former Formula One driver, now driving in Indycar, is famous for saying, "No attack, no chance," but I think that's exactly right. If you don't try beyond the limits of any sport, you won't find the future, and if you don't try, you'll stop there. Therefore, even if there are times when I make mistakes or get no results, I don't feel strangely distressed. Even if you make a mistake, it's up to you to take it. Mistakes make me want to investigate the cause. If you think that you can overcome it, you can be faster than if you regret the mistake, and you can always face it positively.
 Now that I can race in F1, I feel grateful to my parents. I've liked to move since I was a child, and I played swimming, soccer, mountain biking, and also, not sports, but piano. Now that I think about it, I feel that my father and mother were letting me do what I was interested in. And the reason why I started driving karts was also influenced by my father. My father liked motorsports and played gym carna himself. One day, at the circuit venue I was taken to, I was allowed to drive a real cart. That was the first time. Actually, I also experienced a pocket bike at that time, but after trying two, I said, "The kart is more fun." I don't really remember at all (lol).
 But there were times I got sick of karts...
 For example, when I was about seven years old. When I was playing a game while waiting at the track, my father told me to "focus more on the race," and my game was taken away, and I felt like, "I don't like it anymore." Then my father became getting tougher and tougher on me to improve me, and he scolded me for many things. To be honest, I didn't really appreciate my father until I was 15, and there was a time when I hated him. 'This is "The Rebellion Period".' I think I was in the middle of it.
 Not only my father but also my mother was strict in terms of academic matters. I was always told to study in case I didn't succeed in motorsports. My junior high school was not a public school (?), so after the race, I would go home on the day, get ready for school, go to school, study, and take the test. To be honest, it was hard and I never liked it, but I continued to study anyway.
 At that time, I couldn't thank my parents, but now I have the opposite feelings. I think I am what I am now thanks to their harshness, scolding, and teaching me a lot of things back then. Thank you so much.
 I didn't expect to be able to get to F1 this quickly. Not only are there few Japanese drivers, but they are also those taking the shorter route compared to foreign drivers.
 When I first went to see F1 at Fuji Speedway at the age of seven, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso were running. At that time, I wasn't longing for it, but I thought "I wanted to race with drivers like this someday", and those feelings are still the same. Hamilton is already a legend, and it's an honor to run with him, but when I get on the circuit, both Hamilton and Alonso are just drivers. Think of them as enemies.
 It's the same for Max Verstappen, who I think is the fastest and strongest opponent in Formula One, and Pierre Gasly, who's my teammate in Alpha Tauri. I want to know as soon as possible how well I can handle Verstappen and how well I can compete. Gasly was active in Japan's top-category, Super Formula, when I was running in Japanese F4, and I hope I can learn a lot of things from him, but I think he's also my biggest rival that I have to beat someday because we're in the same machine.
 'In the world of F1, "speed" is ultimately required.' No matter how fast you say you are, if you show off your speed, you can make an impact, and if you have speed, you can get back in front in the second half even if you were overtaken or separated from the pack in the beginning of the race. However, it is actually the most difficult to show "speed" in a situation like this. My biggest strength is speed, so in addition to that, I want to learn more of what I lack.
 Come to think of it, at an online conference held this off-season, my goal came out big like, "I'll be a Formula One champion more than seven times, the most ever tied," but that's not what I meant.
 I haven't done a single race in Formula One yet, so I can't say that (bitter smile).
 What I'm thinking about right now is to give the best performance I have in the first race, and to get as many points as possible throughout the season. Just like F2, even if you go up to F1, you will make a lot of mistakes from the beginning to the middle of the season, but I want to learn a lot by making new discoveries there. After saying such a thing at the press conference, there was a question like, "What is Tsunoda's ambition?" So I replied, "Maybe I'll win the championship seven times like Lewis Hamilton?" which became a big headline.To be exact, I really want to concentrate on everything in front of me now, and I hope that my ambition will come true as a result of that accumulated effort.
 What kind of scene will I see in the future? I want to improve my ability and become a race driver representing the F1 world, and I think it will be a different pressure and motivation, so the expectations of the fans may be even higher.
 That's why I want to never forget how I felt when I drove in Formula One for the first time in 2021. I want to cherish the current feelings of a rookie and continue to make mistakes to my heart's content, learn a lot from them, and enjoy them.
 I don't think I'll shed tears like I did four years ago in the final selection. I will never forget the tears I shed that day. But if I were to cry from now on, what kind of tears would I have...?
 I think it's realistic to say when I first win the championship. It's very difficult to get to Formula One, but it's going to be a tough road ahead. It's really hard to win, so if I'm going to shed tears, it's probably not "regretful tears" but "happy tears".
NEW interview with Alexander Skarsgård about Godzilla vs. Kong and The Northman with Uproxx
Alexander Skarsgard Knows You Don’t Care About Him In ‘Godzilla Vs Kong’
MIKE RYAN, SENIOR ENTERTAINMENT WRITER MARCH 30, 2021
Yes, Alexander Skarsgard is under no false impressions that you are looking forward to Godzilla vs. Kong to see the adventures of his character, a geologist named Dr. Nathan Lind. You see, Godzilla has been causing some problems for humans for unknown reasons and, just maybe, Kong can take care of business and let Godzilla know that his antics aren’t appreciated by means of a knuckle sandwich. And Dr. Nathan Lind has been studying Kong for years and has a good idea of what Kong’s motivations might be and what Kong actually wants.
So, yes … there are times where there is not a lot to talk about when even one of the lead actors in a movie admits people aren’t coming to see him or his character. Though from past interviews, I know Skarsgard has a pretty good sense of humor, so the real questions soon devolved into kind of outlandish fake questions and, luckily, Skarsgard ran with them.
Also, Skarsgard’s next film is The Northman, which is interesting for a couple of reasons. First, he teams with Robert Eggers, which will be the director’s followup to the acclaimed The Lighthouse. Second, it will completely screw up Google searches for True Blood fans searching for Skarsgard’s character, Eric Northman. And, yes, he’s thought about that and wonders how many people will show up expecting to see vampires. (There will be no vampires.)
It’s funny, because just the title of this movie, that isn’t false advertising.
Oh yeah.
Multiple fights.
It’s almost a two-hour-long movie, and it’s like an hour and 55 minutes of fighting.
So what’s this like for you? When you sign onto something like this? Because it’s Godzilla and Kong and they’re going to wind up getting a lot of the attention.
It’s humbling for a narcissistic actor like myself, to be put in my place, to show up on set and know that no one will go to see this movie because I’m in it.
Well, that’s not true. I have noticed over the years you do have a fan base that goes nuts for you.
That’s flattering to hear. But I’m under no illusion that I’m the star of the show and that anyone will go see the movie because they want to see Nathan Lind, the geologist.
The geologist.
Yeah, well, in a way, to be a vessel and a way for the audience to get to know, in my character’s case, Kong, more so than Godzilla, because I’m with Kong throughout the movie. But in a way to not necessarily humanize Kong, but to show a different side of Kong, to show that he has empathy. He’s lived a very solitary, lonely life on Skull Island without social connections, without family. And the thought of him to be reconnected, or to find his family in Hollow Earth is, is kind of the driving force, to reconnect. So I felt like my job was kind of set that up in a way and to kind of show the audience that side of Kong.
Well, you said people aren’t coming to see Dr. Nathan Lind, the geologist. But once here, where you tell me, how you’ve spent the last five years, studying with geologists and following them around and becoming a trained geologist yourself, people will look at this in a different way.
Right? Well, that’s how seriously I take my job.
You threw yourself into it. The last, maybe, ten years, you’ve been studying with geologists, just to know exactly what you were doing in this movie.
It’s just the kind of actor I am, Mike. Even though I play a very peripheral character and no one cares, I still take my craft seriously. And that means a decade of studying geology and living, breathing the character. Just to give the audience that sublime performance that I give in the movie.
When you’re giving the technical jargon during the movie, viewers can rest assured that you know exactly what you’re talking about, because you studied for so long with trained geologists.
Exactly. And they can see that in my eyes, that I’m not lying. I’m not pretending. I’m not acting. I’m not playing a geologist. I am a geologist.
You are a geologist.
Yes.
So when you filmed at Hollow Earth, in the center of Earth, was that on location?
Obviously, it was.
Yeah, I could tell.
And being there was trippy. I felt like you can’t … the audience can tell whether you’re there or when you’re actually there, or if it’s the soundstage with green screen. So the only way to do it, when you make a character driven drama, like Godzilla vs. Kong, is to actually go there and actually spend time down there and be there with Kong. So it was six very intense months, deep down in the center of the earth with a gigantic ape.
That’s why we haven’t seen you in a while — because you’ve been down there.
I’ve been down there, with a gigantic ape.
Being serious, doing the “there they are” reaction seems especially difficult in this movie, with these being such central characters. And I know that’s part of the deal with a lot of movies, but this seems even more that.
Absolutely. Watching the movie, I could tell that I’m reacting to the wrong thing, like I’m reacting to something else. And they play my reaction to something that I think I’m reacting to, but many things have changed. Or they use that reaction to something else. So they kind of make it work. So it’s like, I look at something, and I think I’m reacting to something completely different, but I’m not. They completely changed that. So it’s quite a ride and exciting to watch the movie, because I’m as surprised as the audience. When I watch it, like, “Oh really? That happened.” And, “Oh, look at my reaction here.”
The scene that we all saw in the trailer, which surprisingly happens pretty early in the movie, where Kong just punches Godzilla in the face. So do you watch the movie and go, “If that really would have happened in front of me, I might’ve reacted quite differently than I did even in the movie”?
Well, that specific sequence, they actually had in the pre-visualization, so that actually looks quite very, very, very close to what the previs two years ago looked. So Adam [Wingard] played us that. So pretty much the whole fight scene was choreographed before we shot our reactions to it. So I knew that that punch was going to land, and that’s what I’m reacting to.
We’ve given Dr. Nathan Lind a lot of time, and we’ve given King Kong a lot of time. We haven’t really talked about Godzilla. He gets annoyed when people bother him. I relate to that.
Me too. Going into the movie, I was very much team Godzilla. I love the old Godzilla movies, like the ’60s and ’70s, that era, when it’s zero special effects.
Just a guy in a suit and it’s awesome.
It’s a middle-aged dude in a suit, kicking a miniature version of Tokyo on a set.
In your next movie, you’re working with Robert Eggers, The Northman. You’re done filming that, right?
We’re done. Yeah, we shot for six months during the pandemic. We started last summer and finished just before Christmas.
Did you look at his prior movies and just go, “I have to be part of this.”
Well, I courted him. I loved both The Witch and The Lighthouse. And was developing The Northman and was trying to find a director for it. It was a very different iteration of the script, and the story was very different from what we ended up shooting. But I had a version of a viking movie that I wanted to make and basically went after Rob. He was my dream director and I thought that he would be perfect for this. And that, when I mentioned it to him, it turned out that he was a huge viking fan and knew everything about the mythology.
That doesn’t surprise me for some reason.
Yeah, he knew so much about that world and that era and got really excited about the idea of potentially making this movie. And then he found Sjón, this Icelandic author and poet and screenwriter. And Sjón and Rob together wrote the screenplay to what ultimately became The Northman, the movie that we shot. So it’s something on that was slowly percolating and growing over the course of eight years. So, to finally be on set last year, with the greatest filmmaker of our time and some of the greatest actors of our time, was the highlight of my career, for sure.
Have you thought about how this will screw up Google searches for your True Blood fans?
[Laughs] Yes, I am very much aware of how problematic the title is.
Well, not problematic. True Blood fans are going to have to put in a few other keywords now.
Yeah, that’s true. That’s true. I do apologize for that. And I’m sure some people will be pretty disappointed if they go to see a stand-alone movie about Eric Northman, and then they sit down and it’s a goddamn Viking movie and not a vampire in sight.
I think they’re in for a treat, to tell you the truth.
Well, I hope so. I hope so. I’m very excited about the movie, but I have to admit that, unfortunately, there are no vampires in the movie.
‘Godzilla Vs. Kong’ hits theaters and HBO Max on March 31st.
Prologue: Vera Vota (Latin, “wishes come true”)
He was looking for chaos. When wasn’t he? As the gods often did, he turned to humanity for entertainment. It had felt like eons since he had meddled with the humans, creating fool’s gold to mess with them. What could he do? What could throw a wrench into the machine of humankind?
It had to be something of his own devising. He couldn’t use something that some other god had created, nor could he use something made by a human. But it needed power, enough to control all of their world. He couldn’t manipulate a country at a time… no, for maximum effect, he needed to start with just one human.
The human would have to be trusting, someone at least somewhat good. It would be easier to trick a naive human into cooperation than it would be to find one willing to follow through once they knew of his plan.
Now, what could he do? What could one randomly selected human do to bring a sense of panic across their measly globe? It had to be some kind of weapon. Not the giant bombs that humanity had already created. Nothing destructive in a physical way. Something that would make the humans… wish. He was the god of wishes, after all.
What if… no, he thought. That wouldn’t work… or would it?
The random human, they would be given something so powerful to turn them into a superhuman. They would be granted some ultimate power, and he would use their power as his little game.
He hummed and tapped his fingers on the pyrite throne beneath him, stirring the infant griffin resting on his shoulder. “Hello, my dear,” he murmured. “No need to worry. Just your father thinking,” he told the little thing and stroked its tiny wings.
He crossed his legs and gazed at the marble ceiling, letting his brain come up with any idea he could. Humans were fools, he knew. But what if…
Using his power, he conjured a token. He wasn’t sure what it would be; he allowed the power to choose something in a perfect shape for it. He smiled as he opened his eyes. Hovering between his hands was a warm orange stone, a little bit of rock at the base. A dream stone, he nodded. He took the object in his hands and brought it to his lips, breathing power into it.
What power, he wondered, will bring humankind to their knees? What will they be willing to allow in? What did humans… want?
That was the answer, he realized and he breathed the power of the wish into the stone, now faintly glowing inside. No two humans wanted the same thing. The stone could grant wishes. But that wasn’t enough. If the stone could only grant wishes, it would only cause wonderful things. No, the stone had to do something else… like take something in return. His hot breath made the crystal glow brighter, even warming in his hands.
“Perfect,” he murmured and pressed a kiss to the stone in his hands. The glowing stopped, and the stone returned to its cool temperature of before, matching the ambient air around it. He grinned into the crystal, still holding it to his face. It is time for the chaos to begin.
Chapter 1: A Strange Accent
You aggressively jam the walk button, shoving your hands inside of your sweater again. It’s quite chilly outside, the coldest day of the fall so far, and you want nothing more than to get indoors as soon as possible. You hadn’t expected it to get cold and so you were vastly unprepared as you walked home from work, wrapping the cardigan tighter around your body. You scurry across the street, sighing as you open the door to your favorite coffee shop and are immediately flooded with warmth and the scent of espresso.
Sighing, you wander towards the counter to place your order, your face forming a frown as you notice there’s someone in line. The shop is usually desolate at this hour, just a short time before they close for the night. People rarely want coffee this late, but you need it tonight. It was a long day at the office, and you had been caught up in editing a manuscript when you looked up and discovered it was dark.
The man is taking a while to order, and you cross your arms as you stand behind him and wait. His voice has an odd lilt to it, and you listen to the tone as he tells the barista what he wants. Your brow furrows in concentration, trying to place his accent. It sounds like his native tongue is some kind of romance language, maybe Spanish or Portuguese. Unintentionally, you lose yourself in the drone of the man’s voice.
You’re jilted from your state of near mesmerization as he turns and makes eye contact with you. Almost gasping, you bite on your lip. He must’ve noticed you staring at him in some reflection, or noticed your eavesdropping, you think, but he cuts your thoughts off in your tracks. “Excuse me, miss. Do you have a dollar bill?” he asks in that enchanting voice, his eyes trained on yours, bulging from the interruption.
Oh, she’s absolutely perfect, Maxwell thinks to himself, a small smile on his face. He’s always loved the humans that are taken aback by him, the humans attracted to him. It strokes his ego, plain and simple.
You nod and open your purse, rummaging for a bill without a hesitation. You’re a helpful person, this is no different, you tell yourself. You frequently share your spare change with the homeless folks on the streets of D.C. as you walk to work. If a stranger simply asks for a dollar, you oblige. It has nothing to do with how entranced by this man you find yourself.
As you hand him the bill, you look up and over his torso and face. He’s wearing a large pinstriped suit and a coat on top of it, fitting the fashion of the current year. His skin is a beautiful color, indescribable really. His face has deep lines but they fit him, and his eyes are a lovely chocolate brown. His hair seems to be highlighted; you find that odd, but don’t comment. It works on him, a layer of gold above a similar chocolate brown to his eyes. His eyes meet yours again and he smiles. “Thank you, miss…” he trails off and raises an eyebrow, asking for your name.
You tell him with a nod and he takes your hand in his, kissing the knuckles, his eyes never leaving yours. No ring on the wedding finger, good. “You’re welcome. I mean, it’s a dollar,” you ramble and shrug a little, feeling the butterflies stir in your stomach at his gaze.
He drops your hand gently and smiles. “Still, very generous. Thank you.” He nods and turns back to the barista, who asks for his name. The man takes a moment, an almost suspicious amount of time, before feigning that he didn’t hear her. “Maxwell,” he says slowly, his voice as sweet and shimmering as the golden color of honey.
It’s a name that fits the man. Plenty of men went by Max. Hell, it’s 1984, that’s one of the most common names, you think to yourself. But Maxwell holds a different tone. It’s elegant, refined. Very much like the man. He pays her and turns to you once more. “Could I have the honor of sitting with such a kind woman while we drink our coffee?” he offers.
Despite your beauty, you’re not very used to flirtation. It makes your heart skip a little bit in your chest to hear the words, especially from such a gorgeous man. You had planned on taking your coffee to go, but his offer makes you weak at the knees. “I’d like that,” you nod and he points to a nearby table, informing you that that’s where he’ll be. You nod and order from the barista, the one you’ve known for a while now, and she gives you an excited little smile.
After you order, you sit across from Maxwell at the small table. “So, what brings you here this late?” you ask him, genuinely curious.
He shrugs. “Something inside of me told me I needed a cappuccino, I suppose,” he shrugs, eliciting a small giggle from the both of you. God, he’s beautiful, you think to yourself as you look at him. You prop your chin on your palm as you look over at the man, waiting for the real answer. “What about yourself?” he asks.
You look at him with curiosity, surprised he never gave a real reason. “Well,” you chuckle, fidgeting with your hair with your free hand, “I stayed far later than I was supposed to at the office. I’m an editor, and I have this novel I need to finish looking over by tomorrow morning. I was working on it all day, since I forgot about it, but then I looked at the clock and it was 7:30. I need to keep working on it, though, so I figured I’d drop by this place for some espresso.” Normally you’d never babble like this, but something in his behavior compels you to spill everything. “I need to get home and finish it, so I need something to keep me up while I do it.”
Maxwell’s expression droops a little. “Don’t let me keep you,” he says, tilting his head a little. “If you need to get home and work on it, do it.” He presents you the easy out, allowing you to leave right now. You don’t take it, and he smiles a little to himself. You’re the person, he decides then and there.
“No, no. I needed a break. It hurts my head to stare at that tiny writing for too long,” you chuckle and shake your head. “It was perfect timing for me.”
“Me too,” he says, trying to hold the excitement back from his smile. His first try, his first descent to Earth on his little mission, and he finds the perfect mark. The barista calls out your names and you scoot your chair back to move but he holds out a hand. “No, allow me,” he says with a gentlemanly gesture, his hand resting on your shoulder for a moment.
Maxwell returns with two porcelain mugs on matching white saucers, setting your drink in front of you. Your macchiato steams enticingly and it takes all of your effort to hold back from grabbing the hot drink and downing it, letting the warmth radiate through your core. Instead, you cup the mug with both hands, sighing as it warms your cold fingers. You look over at his drink, a cappuccino. It’s fitting, you think, bringing the coffee close to your face and letting the steam warm your frost-chilled nose.
The two of you converse for a while. It’s less conversation, you realize after a moment, and more of the two of you discussing your life. You stop once you realize that. “I’m sorry, I’m rambling. Tell me about yourself,” you say and change the topic, sipping the last of your macchiato and setting the empty mug back down on the saucer.
Maxwell sighs and pushes his wavy gold hair from his eyes. “Are you a religious woman?” He asks.
How abrupt, you think to yourself, and shake your head. “This is about you-”
“It will be, but answer that first.” His response is odd and your throat goes dry. Did you just find yourself extremely attracted to this man only for him to start pitching Scientology to you or something? You shake your head again. “Is that no, you’re non-religious, or no as in you’re an atheist?” he asks. This situation is increasingly odd, and you gather your cardigan around yourself. “Not religious, just don’t have thoughts on that. If you’ll excuse me-” you start to sling your purse across your shoulder but he puts a hand on yours, stopping you, calling your name.
He looks into your eyes, and you can’t quite read them, but his expression is certainly odd. “Good. I…” he trails off. “I’m a deity,” he admits to you.
You snort a laugh at that. “Okay, and I’m secretly the heir to Atlantis. Thanks for the conversation, Maxwell, but-”
“Watch,” he commands you, and you follow as he brings his fingers to the edge of your mug. Your mind races suddenly; did he spike it? Are you about to get murdered? He traces a finger around the rim and suddenly, the mug is refilled with a steaming macchiato. You blink in confusion. “There’s no way…” you trail off, murmuring, staring at the cup and sitting again. You lift the mug, feeling the heat radiating through the porcelain. You look up at him and he has a small smile.
“What else do you want me to do to prove it?” He asks.
You bite your lip and look down. “Tell me my childhood dog’s name.”
He chuckles and leans back in his seat. “I’m not omniscient. I’m the god of wishes, my dear,” he smiles, and you notice there’s a glint of gold shining through the previously solid brown irises in his eyes. “Tell me to do something, and I can do it.”
This is terrifying, you have to admit, but it’s real. It has to be. There’s no other explanation for that. “You just refilled my mug. Make it tea.”
“You have to wish for it,” he tells you, face clearly showing he’s getting pleasure from showing off his powers to you. “Touch me and wish for it.”
Groaning, you put your hand on top of his. “I wish for you to change this coffee to tea,” you say, fed up with his mood.
The man nods and the foamy brown contents of the mug become a clear green tea. You swallow hard as you look down at it, in disbelief. “Go on, try it,” he tells you, a smirk on his face.
“How do I know you didn’t do something to it? That it doesn’t have drugs in it?”
“I give you my word.”
It still scares you, but you lift the mug with shaky hands and sip it. It’s green tea, plain and simple.
“Since you gave me that dollar,” he explains, “I am indebted to you. I have a gift I believe you will want. A gift that will allow you to fulfill your wildest dreams.”
You narrow your eyes. “That doesn’t sound worth a dollar.”
Maxwell chuckles at that. “It’s not the dollar; it’s the fact that you gave it to me so willingly. You are a worthy human of this, what I am going to give you.”
This doesn’t make sense. You shake your head. “No, no thank you. I can’t- no.”
“Yes. This is for you,” he tells you, and out of nowhere, he’s holding an amber-colored crystal. “As a gift of my thanks.” You reluctantly take it from him, admiring it, unsure of what it does, what it is. You open your mouth to speak but he beats you to it. “This is the Dreamstone.”
Approaching Sun (29)
Author’s Note: Happy Halloween! Sorry this is so late everyone. I am currently writing my thesis for graduate college (the very reason why this chapter is not longer) and it has been sucking up ALL of my time in combination with Covid-19 face-to-face teaching and virtual teaching. In short, my life has been a walking list of “to-do’s” which causes me to neglect my writing. This chapter is dedicated to zeidika (hope you are reading this) who reviewed my story back in July. I occasionally think about your message and it keeps me going through stressful times. I hope your upcoming graduation is a memorable moment and that your son is doing well. You inspire me too! Congrats on the outstanding GPA! I am hoping to follow you soon with graduation!
Please let me know what you guys think. More action-packed chapters coming your way soon (hopefully).
P.S. While you are waiting on more chapters of A.S., go check out my new mystery/horror fiction story, “Beneath the Harlow Grove” by @anerdinallherglory on Wattpad.
Chapter 29: A Generation of Weaklings
Sasuke blasted through a few too many red-dirt mountains in Kaguya’s core dimension. With every blast, he felt more like himself. Something chemical happened in his brain when he tunneled raw chakra through his veins; it helped him adopt the right mindset. Sasuke found that the quickest way to erase his thoughts was to surrender them to his shinobi persona who had to be focused. That chakra felt like a jolt to his nervous system, reminding him of himself and his shinobi goal.
Of course, now that he was less distracted, he found himself too depleted of chakra to do anything more than take a breather. Now that he was in the core dimension, Sasuke would have to adjust his plans. Previously, the Uchiha had been trying to cross into the desert dimension without going through the middle dimension. Now that he had jumped ship and escaped here by instinct, he was going to have to do this whole thing in reverse. Logically, his next step would have to be crossing into the desert dimension and then overpassing this core dimension directly to Kunagakure. All this would require a lot of chakra.
Just to speed up the process, Sasuke momentarily considered swallowing one of the chakra pills that he had swiped before his cold exit hours before into this dimension. It might be a good idea for experimentation purposes, but Sasuke knew enough about shortcuts to comprehend that chakra pills would do more harm than good, which is why they were typically reserved. It was best, the Uchiha decided strategically, to take the pill when he was at his chakra max, so he could ultimately top it off and have just the right amount to make the jump.
And besides, Sasuke just didn’t have enough time or chakra to experiment recklessly. He would get one shot to try it before he had to wait a significant amount of time for his chakra to replenish enough to try it again if he failed. Not to mention in what ways he would have to recover from whatever side effects he would suffer through from abusing the chakra pills.
Sasuke pinched his nose in concentration and tried his best to expel Sakura from his mind while he waited. And it worked just enough, for the most part…consciously—until he fell asleep that night and dreamt of her, his suppressed thoughts confronting him in his subconscious. He had developed a habit of dreaming about Sakura lately, so this wasn’t something new to him. His dreams of her usually involved her imminent death; an enemy threatening her life in a way that Sasuke was too late to prevent. This was the case. Usually. But something about that kiss earlier had unnerved Sasuke, transforming his instinctual focus on her from one of concern to one of…how would he describe it? Desire? Hope? Longing? None of those words seemed acceptable to the Uchiha; he hated to have to admit to any of those feelings even when dreaming.
In this dream, he was back in that damn medicine preparation room, glaring into Sakura’s green eyes after that unexpected kiss. But this time, instead of sensibly leaving, the Uchiha gave in to her desperate pleadings, taking her chin between his fingertips and bringing her mouth back to his. In this dream, Sasuke kissed her. Was kissing her frenziedly, hand suddenly twisting in the pink fuzz at the nape of her hot, flushed neck. Was, until a hand clamped firmly on his shoulder, jerking him abruptly back away from her. When he turned, Sasuke was face-to-face with himself. His conscious self vs. the subconscious.
When Sasuke woke, he laughed derisively as he realized he would always be the one to get in his own way in both reality and fiction.
“Good,” he said aloud to the airless dimension, suddenly frustrated for fantasizing about the opposite scenario of the one he had chosen. He hoped Kaguya, or others like her, somehow were able to hear him through this connection of dimensions. They would see just how determined he was to rid the world of them; how dedicated he was to protect those he loved. So much so, that he would sacrifice and surrender every aspect of his life to this goal.
Sasuke stood then, forming the hand sign to split the dimension in the space before him until raging sand materialized before his eyes. He decided he would just not sleep; not unless he was so tired that he wouldn’t even have enough left in him to dream.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Sakura was a quick learner. The medical ninja gave herself that credit at least as she imitated the slow intake and exhale of breath that professed sleep. This certainly wasn’t her first kidnapping. Half a year ago, Kido had done just exactly that and as soon as his posse realized she was awake, the show had begun. Sakura’s poison-trained system had finally started to break down whatever sleep-induced toxin Mako had spiked her drink with. With no conception of how long she had been unconscious, Sakura had become cognizant and immediately began to mimic an undisturbed state. This time, she was set on listening. This time, she would assess and strategically plan.
She had been waiting to hear the answer as to “why” she found herself in this particular situation as she was dragged, then hoisted over someone’s shoulder. For a blurry second, Sakura was taken back to her drunken episode several weeks ago when Sasuke carried her home after the medic had decided to deplete Tsunade’s alcohol stash. The only similarity between this state of stupor and that one was the pounding headache that made Sakura want to vomit. That was when memory caught up with her and she began to “act.”
She was exchanged from one shoulder to the next and Sakura realized suddenly that she had been carried by Mako up until this point--that bastard--and was being surrendered to someone else. She didn’t know the voice.
“Great job,” a guttural accent commended Mako for his successful abduction. Sakura planned on commending him herself once she regained the upper hand.
“Just shut up and walk,” came Mako’s voice, in a tone that sent shivers down Sakura’s spine. She had never heard him speak like that. How could she have been played by him this whole time?
Sakura began to second-guess her decision to pretend the longer that they walked. In cases of abduction, it was well known that a person’s chances of survival drastically dropped if the kidnapper succeeded in moving them to a second location. But Sakura thought of Isao, her patients, her coworkers, and even Sasuke and resolved herself. It was better for them if she could allow these maniacs to believe that they had got her. What they didn’t know, was that their mistake would be getting Sakura just far enough away from civilians where she could cause some real damage. She had handled Kido; she could take care of these two as well. Neither of them could have anticipated her other skillset; Mako didn’t know her well enough.
When they had dropped her not so gracefully onto her back an hour later, Sakura bit the inside of her cheek to keep from making a pained groan or facial expression to give away her performance. Other voices chimed in then, and Sakura realized her adversaries had just doubled.
“About damn time,” someone drawled as she was dropped. “You couldn’t have taken care of this sooner?”
There was some shuffling as her capturers arranged themselves in what sounded like a cramped space.
Mako announced: “She’s surprisingly resistant. Not to mention Uchiha’s been around just until recently.”
That particular statement wounded Sakura a little more than the fall she just sustained. Of course, this was all about Sasuke. She should have known. Kido had kidnapped her for this same reason: to lure in Sasuke, kill her in front of him so his eyes would change. Sakura was starting to get pretty annoyed with people trying to use her to get to Sasuke—as if she would ever let that happen. When would they learn that things weren’t so black and white? Mako’s previous statement the morning of her capture began to make more sense to her now: “Well, it’s obvious that he likes you. To be honest, I thought you were already a couple.” And Sakura cursed her mouth for confiding in him because now she identified his interest as a predatory investigation.
“Or maybe you just weren’t trying hard enough because you liked her,” came a response from a voice Sakura seemed to recognize for some reason. It was different from the rest—distinctively female. Sakura mentally raised an eyebrow at that fact.
“Believe me, that’s not the case” came Mako’s defense. “Ashuwa just didn’t do the trick on a medical specialist as we had hoped.”
And then Sakura was cursing. Cursing a stream of silent words that wouldn’t do her any good to express verbally now that she was getting information. The bastard had even convinced her that Sasuke should take it. She thanked the universe for Sasuke’s non-allergic reaction to it.
“What ended up working?” came the female voice again, expressing honest curiosity.
“Tea and kindness,” Mako stated unemotionally, eager to move past the topic. “Now let’s get on with this.”
“Of course,” said the female again, tossing what sounded like clanging metal onto the floor at his feet. “You have been given a position among us as promised for your service. Welcome.”
Sakura couldn’t resist. She snuck a peek through the corner of her eyelashes at them then and did not like what she saw. She was in a small gathering room with a domed ceiling, one of the many adobe homes on the outskirts of the Sand Village. She had also miscounted by 1. There were four of them, an extra silent companion seated & leaning against the wall farthest from her, seemingly uninterested. In the same second, Sakura also noted that Mako had bent down to retrieve something she recognized, a headband with a foreign symbol etched onto it—the same symbol she had seen on the headbands of their assailants back at the Tanigakure lodge. She made the connection: these were the same ninja who had followed Sakura and ambushed her and Sasuke in the night. The ninja she had recounted to Gaara, who was supposedly on their trail. How did they manage to get past him?
Just as Sakura thought this, an unexpected thud came from the ceiling accompanied by the crumbling sound of sand. Quiet consumed them as no one moved. Sakura observed quietly as all ninja revealed their weapons in silence as if they were snakes quietly coiling back to strike.
The man in the corner nodded toward the door, and the ninja closest to Sakura’s head disbanded from the group and disappeared within a second. Once outside, the same ninja began swearing loudly at some surprise. Everyone in the room relaxed as a child’s vocal squirming reached their years. The shuffling continued as this child was being brought inside.
“Damn kid must have followed us!” the returning ninja said in annoyance. “Got some bite to him.”
If Sakura hadn’t been laying down already, she would have collapsed in shock and fear at the memorable voice of the child they had just apprehended and threw down next to her. “Get away from me!” Isao shouted, the boy swinging a kunai out in front of him. They laughed wickedly at the boy’s ferocity.
Okay, show’s over.
Protective instincts kicked in swiftly as Sakura successfully reached forward and stole the kunai away from the child in less than a blinking second. There were unanimous intakes of breath throughout the room as Sakura managed to get Isao behind her and compress the blade threateningly against the esophagus of the man who had touched the both of them—it all happened within a microsecond.  Sakura’s sudden revival activated the group’s defense and they were upon her, but she let out a snarl, drawing blood against the man’s throat.
They immediately stopped their advance when the man she had ensnared began to laugh, throat nicking against the knife as he did so. “Do it already,” he breathed through his laugh. “My death will be a part of this effort. It will only help us in our cause.”
Sakura was certainly tempted by that. The way he had roughly handled Isao seconds before with his colossal insensitive hands was like a fresh and bloody burn on her skin, painful and needing the immediate relief of this man’s execution. But something in his words froze her hand. A cause?
“Glad you are finally awake,” came Mako’s distinct tone, a vicious friendliness warming the words again.
“Shut up you liar,” Sakura spat viciously.
“If you let him go, we’ll tell you why we are going to kill you,” came the female’s voice, and Sakura flashed her angry green eyes over in the woman’s direction. Her face and hair were covered, and Sakura acknowledged the same black shemagh that had concealed her attackers in Tanigakure.
Fat chance, she thought. Sakura immediately assessed her chakra levels and was aggravated by how slow chakra was reacting to her body’s summoning of it. Mako was a fellow medic, and Sakura deduced that whatever he had given her had strategically messed with her system and chakra connection. Sakura mutely criticized herself for trusting Mako. How many times would she be tricked in her lifetime? Probably many more, but she would learn from them all. Oh well, she thought. She had had worse odds before. Her only additional complication was Isao because now she was responsible for herself and the 11-year-old boy who had pursued after her. Had he somehow witnessed Mako’s abduction of her?
It was at this moment that the woman at the front of the room began to take off her mask, and Sakura almost dropped the knife altogether. As the black wrap was loosened and it slumped around the woman’s neck, Sakura immediately recognized the face of Hisa, the female medic ninja who had been her assistant throughout Sakura’s entire stay in Kunagakure. Even Isao behind her, gasped when he saw the woman who had helped take care of him.
Sakura’s moment of surprise was all it took for the ninja she stood behind to reach his hand lightning-quick between his own throat and the kunai. He grabbed on to Sakura’s wielded wrist with his left hand and flung her forward over his shoulder. She mentally cursed as she went flying toward the forefront of the room, landing painfully into the opposite wall. She practically went through it, and the side of the adobe house collapsed around her. As she fell, Sakura realized that the brute force used against her revealed their intention to truly kill her. They weren’t planning on preserving her, let alone sparing her life.
Sakura had been launched farther than she initially realized because when she managed to rise from the dust and sand, she winced at the other consequences of her distraction that was now beyond reach. One by one, the villains stepped through the new door that Sakura had made, carrying Isao with them. In the next second, Isao was tossed to the sand, screaming threats and clutching at the thug man’s foot that suddenly pinned down his chest. When the beast applied pressure to the child’s sternum, Isao began to moan in pain.
The sight enraged her, and she broke her silence. “You’re wrong if you think this plan of yours will work!” she screamed at them. “I am nothing to Sasuke. Nothing to anyone, do you hear me?!”
All but the quiet man snickered in response to her declarations, but she continued, seething through her teeth.
“He will not come to save me! You will not get what you want by using me! Let the child go!”
“This isn’t about Sasuke,” replied the wraith-like man who came last through the shattered side of the building’s exterior wall. For the first time since her awakening, the still man walked to the head of the party and addressed her. “Neither is it about the Hokage, or even the Jinchurki. This is about you.”
The night suddenly seemed starless, dark, and void of all sound save the squealing wind. As the stranger spoke this truth, three of the other members flanked his sides before fanning out beside him like Tamari’s fan, creating a close-knit semi-circle. The phantom-like man stood casually in the middle, his face cloaked in the combined darkness of night and the face wrapping he wore. As Sakura looked closer, even this man’s eyes, the only thing that could be seen between the black fabric, seemed like depthless holes of nothing. This man reminded Sakura of a walking desert mirage, some sort of shadow demon hiding in human clothing.
Sakura gritted her teeth as her body instinctively begged her to flee. Isao’s need for her overpowered that. She would die before abandoning him.
“Me?” Sakura asked instead, revealing her honest surprise. “What do you want with me?” It was a trick, the kunoichi told herself. What could they possibly have to gain from killing her when much more powerful figures literally walked side by side with Sakura? There was nothing to gain besides Sasuke’s, Naruto’s, or Kakashi’s ultimate death, defeat, or capture.
“Your efforts to fix the ‘mentally ill’ goes against the philosophy of our newly founded group,” came Hisa’s poison-dripped answer. Sakura noted that they all took a step toward her in synchrony, tightening in on her a little closer. This practiced pack was testing her and Sakura took a step back to match their own. She was smart enough not to let them surround her like the meal they believed her to be. Sakura felt suddenly empathetic for those mother animals who felt torn between their captured young and their own safety. Let them believe that she was this helpless observer who reeked with fear.
“And what philosophy is that?” She asked, imitating the breaks of a trembling in her throat. She practically seeped the question with distress. It must have had the effect Sakura wanted, for her enemies smiled in response and took another step toward her.
With an insanity that Sakura had not heard in his statements before, Mako declared emphatically, “Progression!”
Sakura couldn’t wait to punch his teeth so far down his throat that Mako’s vocal cords and epiglottis would permanently suffer damage.
Sakura stammered again, portraying the weakness they wished to see. “Pro--progression?” Another step back. Just a little more.
“Whether or not it is your intention, you will create a shinobi generation of weaklings,” stated the leader again. He essentially breathed more darkness, because the night around her suddenly grew thicker. Was she imagining it, or could this be some sort of jutsu?
“How do you figure that?” she questioned, adding a nervous laugh to her annoyed tinged inquiry. Sakura’s exasperation with their reasoning was starting to make her focus waver.
As she asked, Sakura concentrated on her chakra. She was calling it, calling it, calling it, but it did not spring forth. She would have compared the sensation to drawing blood from a syringe, except her chakra was like liquified cement and the syringe was the size of a pen. If she chose to use it, the Strength of a Hundred Seals just might flood her chakra paths and burst through whatever plug the medicine had caused, or it could potentially well up like water in a dam and she wouldn’t have any access to it. Medically, that might be a concern. And it had only been a few weeks since she had last used her reserves to assist Sasuke crossing dimensions, so would the risk be worth the additional amount behind her forehead?
In an eerie declaration, the masked leader stepped toward her again and said, “If you go around curing the next generation of their anger and pain, brainwashing them with this vision of peace, there will be no more progression.”
“What the hell does that mean?” she asked, all pretense gone now. The confidence in her tone made them stop their encroachment. For a second, Sakura didn’t look so weak to them. They glanced at the leader, the shadow-man, and then again at Mako because Mako knew her best out of the group; he had also drugged her.
“The medicine should still be working. We must hurry though. It won’t last all night.” Listening to this, Sakura inhaled and exhaled, willing the small drip of chakra to pool more heavily in her palm. She would only have one shot before she could collect enough chakra for another one. Sakura took another step back. And another, drawing them away from Isao and his captor. Just a little more. Keep them talking.
“There is peace in the world now,” Sakura baited. “There’s no need for children to suffer through trauma alone anymore.”
The leader did not hesitate a second before responding with the practiced mission justification of their group: “Without anger, hatred, and pain, there is no incentive for war between villages. And without war, there is no need for young shinobi. You will create a generation of weaklings who cannot defend our borders. The world of Shinobi as we know it will disappear.”
Sick freaks, Sakura thought. She was their target because she worked with children? They were afraid that children would be weaker without pain? “The world would be a better place,” she commented, “if there weren’t people like you in it.” Sakura didn’t care to listen to this nonsense anymore. She hated to kill them, but they weren’t giving her much of a choice.
At exactly this moment, Isao had somehow reached into his pocket for another kunai, stabbing it into the foot that held him down. Apparently, the ninja had been distracted by the rest of the pack’s slow pursuit of Sakura and the conversation. Isao left his mark, slicing it clean across the top. The ninja screamed which turned the heads of all those before her. Isao bolted up before anyone had the chance to stop him.
On his feet now, he charged the group and Sakura watched in panic as the ninja he had left behind now followed, brandishing a sword of his own.
“Kill that brat!” came Hisa’s order.
And then Sakura was in the air, her fury propelling her forward and then down on top of them.
Mako let out a cry of alarm, the first to notice her above them. The kunoichi had just enough for one hit, and Sakura prayed the sand wouldn’t buffer too much of it. She fisted the meager amount of chakra between both of her palms, fingers interlocked to make a combined fist. She brought them down as hard as she could at their feet, making it through several feet of sand before she connected it with the ground. Sakura was not able to see the damage done, because not only did sand fill the air, but all light blinked out and a shroud of complete blackness consumed her.
Jeanine Mason and Roswell, New Mexico showrunner preview season 3 of the extraterrestrial drama
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Was the year time jump because of the pandemic? To sidestep making that too central to the plot, or was that always the plan?
JEANINE MASON: That was always our intention and it was just sort of a saving grace in that way. We also don't acknowledge the pandemic in real-time on our show. There are no masks and that was just so wonderful just to get work in that way and have that time where it was a little more normal. Also, that's just our show — we want you to come to us the way you always do, which is for nineties nostalgia, sexy Cowboys, brilliant scientists, you know?
CHRIS HOLLIER: So we wanted to drop our characters in a year later, let them stew in their individual decisions that were made last season. We want everyone to root for our poster couple but we want to honor what happens in real life, which is sometimes you step away from that person, even if you are entwined with them in a very particular way. So we wanted it to be a real enough time and distance so that they could live a little life on their own.
With showrunner Carina Adly MacKenzie departing at the end of season 2, has much changed? Or are you still working with ideas she had in place?'
HOLLIER: It's a little bit of both. There are things that Carina and I built that live all the way through and then once the story got up on its feet, discoveries were made with our new crop of people that we were like, "Oh, we're going to bend it this other way."
Jeanine, how is Liz doing in her new life in L.A. when we pick up this season?
MASON: Well, it's been a year and at this point, her life is actually pretty great. She just hasn't taken a second to acknowledge that. She's doing what she does best, which is just full head in her work and trying to figure out what she could use of her discoveries and her brilliance to save Maria. She has a great job, a really nice place, and an awesome partner at work who is a good time and a real match for her in terms of intellect and ambition. He begins to ask her to recognize that and to maybe give something a chance that she's been reluctant to because of how drawn she is to Roswell and to Max. It's a fun first episode. It's sexy. It's fun to find opportunities for her. She's our hero so she's got a lot on her shoulders and anytime where we can find levity for her is always a real treat for the writers and for me.
And no Crashdown waitress uniform must be nice?
MASON: Honestly, I miss it quite a lot right now. I have a note in my notes with Chris, I'm like, "I gotta tell him we gotta find him more opportunities for it."
Should Liz and Max shippers be worried about them finding their way back to one another after he destroyed her work and didn't follow her to L.A.? Should we resign ourselves to a season apart?
MASON: This season really is about these characters having themselves mirrored to each other. Max and Liz need some growing and ultimately they can't do anything but be orbiting each other. We found so many opportunities to have such a beautiful language around the cosmic element of their connection. They're asking, "Is this our decision, or are we just acting off of a decision that the cosmos made for us?" It was so fun to navigate that. I always have such a good time with Chris Hollier and with Nathan Dean, just finding the little tiny notches, a tiny bit of movement towards where they're going next. I really loved following them. It's my favorite Max and Liz season to date.
HOLLIER: It's not a season apart. I'll tease that they, in an unexpected way, end up in front of each other relatively soon. But it's really about when am I ready? And what does it mean to talk to my ex? When someone makes such a big influence in your life, when do you know it's over and when do you know you should fight again? We tried to give them real grown-up lives.
Steven Krueger (The Originals) also joined the cast as Heath this season. What can you tease about his character?
HOLLIER: He's just an awesome human being. I know him from The Originals and we were like, "If we're going to have to be stuck with people in the desert, who do we want?" You want to be stuck with a handsome and lovely and charming Steven Krueger. So really this was looking at, "Well, what did Liz want and what does it look like when you start to give Liz versions of what she wants?" Heath is somebody that is beyond being just a lovely person, he is smart and wants to advance science and that's appealing to Liz. It becomes, "What does it look like when the man that I hang around with all day is also into the same things that I am?"
MASON: I love him. Heath is just such a fun, whip-smart, fantastic character. His humor was so fun. We've been having a good time with kicking the humor up really through season two and in season three, we just took it up another notch. There are some moments that are like, "Is this a drama or is it a sitcom?" Looking back on it, he was such a fun partner to spar with. They're both such intellectual characters and I love that there's a real meeting of the minds. It makes it competitive and sexy. I know a lot of fans are so excited because they know him from The Originals and he's going to be a great addition.
Technically, Mr. Jones is a new character too. Can you tell us anything at all about him?
HOLLIER: I'd say he's a new character — and a fully-fleshed interesting new character. Mr. Jones has an awesome beard. At some point, he might lose that beard. A lot of people are asking me, "Is Jones good or bad?" And what I would argue is that's a perspective based upon who you are in the conversation that you're having with him. He knows a lot about our heroes' story and he knows a lot about home. He'll be able to answer questions for them. This season our heroes will get to learn why they ended up here on earth. One of the things I think that people will love is that they're going to get to see that home planet this year. We asked ourselves a lot about this whole season, "What have we set up for the past two?" We look at these first three seasons almost like a trilogy so a lot of things are going to be paid off.
Has Nathan enjoyed pulling double duty this season? Or is he just exhausted?
MASON: He's exhausted, but he's such a champ. That really is the beginning of this mirroring thing that starts with Max and Jones with him actually getting to look at himself to a degree and those questions that come up. The self-analysis that it provokes in him is really the beginning of what is happening to all of our characters this year; everybody's being confronted with themselves. I loved that the Max/Jones of it was also a real sci-fi element.
Did he really grow that beard or was that not possible if he had to go between the two characters?
MASON: That was a prosthetic beard and our makeup team killed it. He was not accustomed to early mornings, which, of course, all of us babes are. It was a lot of extra time in the chair for him.
Can Jones dupe Liz into thinking he's actually Max since she doesn't know he exists?
MASON: You're totally on to something. It's a real and pressing threat. I mean, she's totally in the dark and he looks like her cosmic lover!
HOLLIER: What I will say is that, Liz — beyond her being number one on the call sheet — is integral to this story in a way that she and none of our characters are going to perceive when they start episode one. We're bringing [the characters] to a new crossroads moment in their lives and they're getting, through Jones, a mirror into their own lives to decide what they're going to become next.
How's Rosa (Amber Midthunder) doing this season?
MASON: By the end of season two, Rosa really makes the decision to start taking care of herself. She really becomes an incredible asset to the Scooby-Doo gang. It's something that Liz is in constant adjustment to. As much as she's the younger sister, she feels very protective of her sister and Liz has had to make adjustments in her trust and faith in Rosa. I loved it because it just felt like a real personal, authentic thing that sisters would go through, but also that Hispanic sisters would go through. I think we sometimes, culturally, have a tendency to baby our women — maybe that's the wrong word — but just to underestimate their physical ability and what they might take on, and sort of 'queen' our women in a way where we treat them tenderly. I hate that. I'm a tough bitch and so is Rosa. So Liz has to confront that and go, "I'm an idiot to underestimate you. You've done nothing but prove me wrong."
What about Maria and her visions?
HOLLIER: This year I think Maria has the most complete arc of any season, as she recognizes things about herself that cause more questions about who she is, who her family is, how she's linked to this story. We dive into it in the present-day and we dive deliciously back in time too.
In the exclusive clip above we see her have a vision of a funeral, can you tease anything about who potentially might be about to die?
HOLLIER: Maria is front and center in driving the first half of the mystery for us. She's burdened with trying to figure out whose death she is seeing. It takes a few episodes to unravel and we use it to ask, is this linked to our supernatural stories or real-world stories that are going on politically? Is it bad luck? Is it herself? There's a whole gambit at play. We joke that we solved a past murder, now we're going to try to stop one.
Can Malex (Michael and Alex) shippers have hope that this might finally be their time?
HOLLIER: What I would say is that I think that Malex fans are really going to dig this journey. We, as writers, put them at the same level of importance as Max and Liz. So we wanted to really honor the next step in what they may or may not be. How did they grow up and how did they have those hard conversations just like Liz and Max are going to have?
Is Isobel going to continue to date women this season?
HOLLIER: Isobel is going to go on a more personal journey. You got to love yourself before you can love someone else. We lean into those possibilities by the end of who she might love. It's not something that is dropped all season — it is something that you'll see. We play some romantic comedy stuff with her character this year and with Maria that I think fans are gonna dig. There's a lot going on in the world and wanted to pump some humor and hope into it.
Will see more of Liz fighting to challenge the perception of the Latinx community?
MASON: I think that just by nature of it being one of such few shows that are led by a Latin woman, it's always going to be, to an extent, a protest or an assertion of the space that I get to fill and that Liz Ortecho gets to fill on network TV. I was really excited to just have Chris as a collaborator. Over our hiatus, before the season started, I was doing a lot of reading. I chronicled the books that play into Liz every season on my Instagram. I was reading some Sonia Sotomayor. Her book is just incredible. I was texting him screenshots of pages of the book with things underlined. Ten episodes deep into season 3, he's like, "Remember that page you sent me?" He's a real dream collaborator. I loved him for that. A pressing struggle for people of color is going through the ranks in these big corporations and then sometimes coming to find out that those corporations are purporting to support marginalized groups but actually aren't following through. So how do you, as someone who's having your success, your dreams become reality, navigate supporting the company and giving so much of your intelligence and your work — that they often legally own, especially with science — to a company that isn't going to be for your people?
So, this is an Au i found in the trash on my writing app, i have no fucking clue why i trashed it cause it's actually pretty fucking decent.
!!TRIGGER WARNING: Contains attempt of suicide, unintentional starvation, Overworking, Family death, and general self destruction!!
Shuichi Saihara has been brinking suicidal for ages, he couldn't rememer the last time he ever wanted to live, but recently it's gotten much worse; as joining Hopes Peak as the Ultimate Dtective took a massive toll on him. He's a perfectionist, and as such, he feels the need to be the best in a sea of teenage geniuses; doing that is no easy feat, and that realization definitely hits him hard.
As he stresses over everything, his life slowly slips from his control; his sleep schedule deteriorates into 2 hour naps at 3am, he looses his appetite, he shuts himself in, the only reason he takes baths and changes clothes is because he fears his friends will call him out for reeking and make a fool of him. Overall it all hits him like a truck, and the dark thoughts start to talk more the furthur he spirals. He actually tried to overdose on some random pills he found in the bathroom one night, but ended up throwing them back up.
After his suicide attempt, somehow, for whatever reason; the class clown, Kokichi Ouma, got Shuichi's adress and showed up at his door on a saturday morning. Shuichi tried to shoo him off in favor for attempting to write an essay he knew he'd just eventually shut down on, but Kokichi insisted they spend time together; They made a compromise and Shuichi let him chill in his room while he was working. After an hour of Kokichi mindlesy flipping through the pages of Shuichi's book collection, and Shuichi attempting to write, the stall finally happens, and Shuichi finds himself struggling to write. Kokichi seems to take this as "he's done" and uses it as a way to drag Shuichi out with him on a walk.
The walk was interesting to say the least; Shuichi never spent much time with Kokichi in class, let alone outside of class; but even with what little time he did spend with him, he could deduce that Kokichi was not behaving the same way he did in school. Shuichi was use to malice and arrogant trickery from the little leader, but throughout the walk, he saw a more innocent side to the trickster. sure, he still lied, but there's no negitive intent, their nature was more akin to shitty jokes that people laugh at and don't get why they did; he skipped around like a little kid, picked up random shiny items he found, and at one point they even found themselves wandering down one of the park trails that went through the local forest.
For several weeks this became a regular ouccurance; on an unpredictable day twice a week, Kokichi showed up at Shuichi's door, let him tire himself out on his work, then drug him out on a walk around the neighborhood. Shuichi had no idea why Kokichi was doing this, but he started to enjoy it, even finding himself looking forward to Kokichi's walks. It wasn't until when Shuichi stepped out of his house consiously and accepted the walk before his work did this routine suddenly alter; while walking, Kokichi seemed happier than normal, but in a very calm manner, this odd shift both confused and worried Shuichi. When they walked through the forest, Kokichi became even weirder by insisting Shuichi followed him off the trail.
While heisitant, he listened and followed him into the unknown, and they happened upon somthing beautiful; a low hanging treehouse, no more than a foot off the ground, with a fireplace and logs in the clearing infront of it, a clothes line with various mismathced cloths on it went from the treehouse window to another tree. The inside was cozy and welcoming, multicolored lights hung up inside that Kokichi turned on after going in, feeling like a little fairy home of sorts. Kokichi revealed that this was his safe space; he made this with his big sister after their older brother died, and he comes here when he wants to feel better or to simply be alone, and now Shuichi was the first non family member to know about it.
Shuichi was shocked that Kokichi let him see this, welcomed him into his safe space; and it shocked him even more when Kokichi gave him permission to come out here any time on his own. Kokichi was so reserved at school, sticking to his lies and mind games; but here he was, openly inviting Shuichi into his most honest domaine, one that was created due to the loss of a loved one, lettin him use it. He felt almost honnored that he let him see him so vulnerable.
As time when on, more walks were taken more often, sometimes they'd retreat together to the treehouse and start a small campfire, or sort through all of Kokichi's trinkets he collected and stored there; Shuichi even brough the extra copies he had of his mystery novles to keep there for entertaimment, and Kokichi added boardgames and card decks to the entertaiment hoard. it became a practically every other day thing; they enjoyed their time together, on the walks, in the hideout, telling life stories, playing cards, sharing dreams, together in general. Shuichi could see how truely fake the mask Kokichi wore at school was now, how thick it was, because he saw the real Kokichi in their hideout, that's where he resided, that was his purest form. And Shuichi hadn't realized it quite yet, but he had slowly began to fall in love with the Dork behind the mask of lies.
His uncle one day noted Shuichi had changed; that he seemed happier, relaxed, and less tired. The comment had momentarily confused him, but it quickly clicked how right he was. Shuichi forgot all about his anxiety, his perfectionisim, he forgot to worry about school and if his grades were striaght A's, and instead opted to seek the best feeling he ever had by going back to that hideout, his little leader by his side. It felt so good to relax, he didn't even realize such a tranistion had happened.
Kokichi had fixed him; he gave him something to live for, and saved him from himself. And then it hit Shuichi; that's why Kokichi was doing all this. Kokichi had seen his decline, seen the lack of life in the detective, decided to rekindle a flame that had been out for years, and succeeded; he cared enough to save him. and Shuichi would be lying if he said that didn't make him realize how hard he fell for Kokichi
Time keeps passing, their routine became daily, practically walking together from school to make a beeline for the hideout, maybe stopping by their houses to change into comfortable clothes. They became closer and closer, time seemed to just not exist in the hideout, and before they knew it, three months had passed them by. three months made a difference for Shuichi; three months ago, he was trying to find release from his stress and trauma in the form of death, three months with the class clown in his hair later and he was in a tangle of limbs on a saturday night with said teen, cudding (sadly platonicly) at sunset and talking about whatever oddities came to mind.
Shuichi had hardly noticed that school was almost out for the summer, and he didn't pay much mind the the brand new A's that littered his reportcard, each earned without stressful study sessions; it didn't matter. All that mattered to him was his Kokichi, his sweet angel, the boy who saved his life and stole his heart in the process.
Kokichi at this particular hideout meeting, compaired himself to the monsters from Where The Wild Things Are, and Shuichi not only loved the compairison, but internally wondered if he himself was Max. He wondered if they were just one "let the wild rumpus start!" away from tumbling around in the grass out side; howling at the moon, fencing with sticks, romping around like some sort of feral animals, and laughing together almost the whole time. Kokichi brought out Shuichi's wild thing, and he wanted so desperatly to just indulge in it with Him
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You are a hero in training and you go to U.A. High School. Your teacher is All-Might and He teaches Foundational Hero Studies. Also, he does teach fighting techniques and your homeroom teacher is Shota Aizawa aka Eraserhead.
You hate your quirks because you got it from your father. You hate him with a burning passion and he is a horrible person. If he was dying and you had the antidote you won't save him.
Your quirk is you can turn in invisible and you be indestructible when objects are thrown at you. And you can go through wall people run in some stairs an elevator etc. You have improved your fighting skills because you know their pressure points, easy for you to fight them.
---
Your class is A-1, not many like you and your friends because of what happened in the past.
You have been training hard because are quarter-finals of the sports festival.
”Y/N good luck” Kirishima said.
”Thank you” You said.
”This will be a good fight. You and Bakugo are really strong” Mineta said.
You will fight against Bakugo in thirty seconds. You start to stretch out your arms and legs. Bakugo goes to the field first then it's your turn.
Endeavor and All Might are watching the fight between you and Bakugo.
”Y/N has gotten stronger. Tell me, All Might are you going to be his mentor? Not many will take Y/N because of his father” Endeavor said.
”Y/N is nothing like his father. He will be a good hero, he needs a lot of training” All Might said.
Endeavor didn't say anything, they keep watching the fight and it's intense. You and Bakugo are neck to neck. Bakugo started to use his powers to the max, the explosions are intense. But you still can block it but not for long. You used your quirk to go underground.
”Come out and fight me!!” Bakugo yelled.
He is getting ready, when you come out then he will want to attack you. But you have a trick up your sleeve when you came out then Bakugo kicked you in the stomach then started to punch you. One of his kicks hit you in the nuts.
MT lady, was going to stop the fight but you and Bakugo stopped her. You punched him in the face then, You start to run towards him and putting a metal pole that hits his nuts and knocks him.
”Enough!” Eraserhead yelled.
He used his powers to stop you and Bakugo. But Bakugo is passed out and you can't use your powers for a while.
✯ ✬ ✯ ✫
After what happened at the sports festival, All Might became worried about you. You are at home with your mom and siblings, you used to stay on campus but they sent you home. You are in your bedroom and you using your laptop. Your little brother barged in your bedroom
”Y/N! All Might is here!” He yelled with excitement.
Your eyes opened wide.
”Seriously?” You asked.
”Yes!! All Might is here!! I will ask if he can sign my poster!! Do you have a marker, Y/N!?!?” He yelled.
You gave him a pen.
”No!! I want a marker!! My friends will be so jealous!” He yelled again.
You gave him a sharpie and he smiled big. He runs to his bedroom, to get the poster and collectible action figure toy. You go to the living room and he is drinking tea with your mom. All Might is in his form.
”All Might, what are you doing here?” You asked.
”I came to see you and talk to your mom. I see potential in you to be a good hero, but you have a lot to learn. I still have a lot to teach you” All- Might said.
”Y/N if you want to go back, we will always support you. I will want you to follow your dreams and never let the past stop you” Your mom said.
”I want to be the best hero. But I'm not sorry what I did to Bakugo” You said.
”We will work on that too. Y/N pack your belongings because you are going to camp” All-Might Said.
You nod and your brother did get All-Might’s autograph and a picture. Your mom packed a bento box for you and All-Might. Before leaving you hugged your mom and left with All Might.
----
All-Might and other teachers will go camping with the students. The students will learn to control their powers and go to their med level, learn survival skills, and work together.
Everyone is surprised and happy to see you. Everyone just met the Wild, Wild Pussycats are one of the four hero teams that founded the Union Affairs Office. They are veterans and well known for their teamwork.
Somehow everyone in the camp found out who is your father. You don't know how they found out or who told them, but you don't care what they have to say. You just ignore them.
✯ ✬ ✯ ✫
Class is over and you packing your stuff. You are friends with Midoriya and you do get along with the others too. Expect for Bakugo and other students from different classes.
”Y/N, do want to join us for lunch?” Midoriya asked.
You were going to say something but everyone noticed All-Might is by the door.
”Y/N, lunch?” All-Might asked.
”Okay” You said.
”Y/N later meet us by the lake for a swim” Iida said.
”Sure” You said.
You leave and follow All-Might to somewhere private.
---
”Y/N I want to show you something” All Might said.
”What is it?” You asked.
He changed into his skinny form.
”This is my true form” All-Might said.
”I know” You said.
”Wait-when?” All-Might asked.
”I saw you training Midoriya at the beach. That's when I saw you transformed and I was surprised by it” You said.
”And you never told anyone?” All-Might asked.
You shake your head.
”No. I'm not that kind of person” You said.
You and All-Might start to eat.
”I fought your father All For One before. You are nothing like him not even close. Y/N, I did mean it when I said you will be a good hero. I want to help you achieve your goal” All-Might said.
”I hate him so much. Growing up, he would abuse me and my family. I want to be a hero and I want to help you stop my father and I don't care how we will stop him. I know he was the first to use all for one power but he only used it for evil” You said.
All-Might can see the hate you have for your father in your eyes. He changed the subject to cheer you.
✯ ✬ ✯ ✫
You and All-Might found out the camp is under attack. You or All-Might can't call for help because there is no good signal. You and All-Might run towards the camp and he transformed.
Your father is attacking the camp with his team. All For One looks at you and All-Might
”You have no chance to stop me” All For One said.
You glared at him.
”I will beat you to a bloody pulp” You snapped.
Tomura and Dabi want to fight you and All-Might. Midoriya, Iida, Todoroki, Uraraka, Kirishima, and Mineta are fighting the other villains. Now All-Might is fighting Dabi to get to your father. Now you start to run towards your father but Tomura will try to stop you. But you went underground get away from him
”I wanted to punch you in the face for a long time!” Bakugo yelled at Tomura.
Bakugo punched Tomura in the face and he falls down hard.
---
You and your father start to fight and he isn't holding back. You are not holding back either, You start to punch him in the chest then did a combo to his face.
”You are weak like your mother. You will never defeat me” All For One said.
All-Might starts to help you. Your father is using all his powers to stop you and All-Might. You were going to kick him in the face but he grabbed your leg and threw you towards the ground. All-Might used his ultimate move to stop him before he hits you.
You struggled to get up but you won't give up. You see his pressure points and that's where you will attack. You start to use all powers to attack him, your father is taking blows to his body. All-Might is also giving him major blows to the body. Then you gripped on his arms tight that he starts to bleed. Then ripped his arms off so he can't use his quirk anymore. He falls down to the ground and you are breathing hard.
”Y-”
You passed out.
✯ ✬ ✯ ✫
You, your friends, and All-Might end up in the hospital. They start to worry about you and go to see you. The doctor told you that you need to rest for a few weeks without using your powers.
Your friends saw you and they all hugged you. You are in pain and they are really happy you are getting better.
”Y/N we are happy that you finally woke up” Midoriya said.
”It’s good to see all of you” You said.
”We don't care who is your father. We know the real you and to us, you are our friend and a hero” Iida said.
Everyone agreed with him. You know he is telling the truth and he wouldn't lie about it.
”We got this for you. It's a get well gift bag. Y/N-” Midoriya said.
He didn't finish his sentence because Bakugo said something.
”Good to see you are awake,” Bakugo said and left.
”You too” You said but he didn't hear you.
Everyone stayed for a little more and ate dinner with you. Later they leave the room and you start to write a letter
{Next Day}
They all go to your room but it's empty. You left the letter on the bed and Iida starts to read it out loud.
”I had a good time being friends with everyone. I won't forget everyone and the good times we had. This isn't goodbye forever just means we will see each other later. Please take care of each other... Okay I won't read the last part” Iida said.
Mineta grabbed the letter and read the last part.
”It says PS, fuck you Bakugo” Mineta said.
”I’m going to miss him” Midoriya said.
”We will miss him too. But I feel he will come back” Todoroki said.
---
You and your family left Tokyo after what happened, your family wants to avoid the reporters. It won't be easy but your family just wants to lay low for a while. You didn't tell anyone where you are going to live and you also left a letter for All-Might, letting him know that you will be okay.
From the Liar’s Mouth
Disclaimer: I don’t own ML.
Summary: “If you want to take down Lila, you have to play the long game,” Kagami says. “That means winning over your classmates. You’ve tried the direct approach and where has that gotten you?”
Who would've thought that Kagami's advice would not only let Marinette tolerate Lila's existence, but also land her both a boyfriend and a girlfriend?
AO3 link
“…and I just don’t get how Mr Damocles could believe her like that!” Marinette waves her hands around, nearly spilling her orange juice all over the table. “A condition that makes her lie? There’s no such thing! And I don’t want to go into “you need official proof of your disability to be believed” territory, but with as many conditions as she says she has? Why hasn’t anyone called her mother and asked for everything they should know to accommodate her? Especially when I needed, like, ten pieces of paper just to prove to them that I’m autistic!”
Across from her, Kagami just smiles and takes a sip of juice. Why is Kagami smiling at a time like this? This is a disaster! Lila gets off scot-free, with an even more iron-clad excuse for lying, and Adrien is Kagami’s friend too, right? Why isn’t Kagami worried for him?
“How can you smile when she’s just gotten away with it again?” Marinette bursts out. “Especially after how she hurt you with that picture of her kissing Adrien?”
“I’m going to choose to take your statement as worry for me after what Lila did to me and not an accusation, since I know you meant the former,” Kagami says rather calmly. “And if you would stop allowing your contempt for Lila to cloud you, you would see that she’s just handed you victory on a silver platter.”
“Me? She’s the one who gets to lie about everything!” Marinette says.
“Exactly,” Kagami says. “She supposedly has a condition that makes her lie uncontrollably. You have an admission that she’s a liar from the horse’s mouth. How long will it take before people start to doubt her word? And they will hear about her condition. Mr Damocles will have to inform Ms Bustier, so there’s no chance that the rest of the class won’t find out.”
“And if Lila somehow manages to keep it from them?” Marinette says. Kagami’s smile widens into something that a predator might give their prey before going for the jugular.
“Whether or not she keeps it from them, she’s backed herself into a corner,” Kagami says. “Now is the time for calmness, Marinette. Fall back and strategise. First of all, you have to ingratiate yourself with your classmates again.”
“Ingratiate myself with them?” Marinette scowls and takes a violent swig of juice. “After they doubted me and shoved me to the back and – and treated me like –”
“If you want to take down Lila, you have to play the long game,” Kagami says. “That means winning over your classmates. You’ve tried the direct approach and where has that gotten you?”
“I know, I know,” Marinette sighs. “Just…all that’s necessary for evil to triumph is that good people do nothing.”
“You won’t be doing nothing,” Kagami says. “Doing nothing would involve shrugging and writing your classmates off as a lost cause, allowing Lila to have them. That’s not what you’re doing. You’re falling back and searching for another angle of attack, just as Ladybug and Chat Noir would temporarily retreat from a battle to find another way to attack the akuma. To achieve your ultimate goal, sometimes you have to accept a few losses.”
Marinette stares. How…how has she never thought of it that way? “God, why didn’t I talk to you before?” she says. Kagami’s lips twitch.
“Because we weren’t friends before,” she says. “Now, here’s the plan to take Lila down. I do warn you, though, it involves playing nice with her.”
With a groan, Marinette thumps her head on the table. “It’s not like I can do anything else,” she mumbles into the wood. “Fine. What’s the plan, Kagami?”
.
“Alright,” Marinette sighs, staring at the school building looming over her like a gigantic akuma. “You can do this.”
“It’s okay to be nervous!” Tikki says. “After being expelled yesterday, I’d feel nervous about facing my classmates too!”
“It’s not just that,” Marinette says. “I…have to be nice to Lila. I have to sit there and let her lie and just smile along with it!”
“Well, Kagami did have a point,” Tikki says. “The direct approach isn’t getting you anywhere. All you can really do now is let her lie herself into a corner.”
“Which is what Adrien told me to do. Bet he didn’t think I’d get expelled over it.”
“Adrien didn’t think she was much of a threat. You’re coming from a completely different angle, Marinette! You’re taking the active approach to letting her hang herself.”
“True…” Marinette squares her shoulders and marches through the school gates. “I can do this! I’m strong! I’m confident! I’m Marinette!”
“That’s the spirit!” Tikki cheers.
Marinette’s burst of confidence lasts right until she’s outside the classroom door, where Lila’s holding court with her loud lies about hanging out with Clara Nightingale or something like that. She gulps and clenches her fists. Nope. She can’t do this. She can’t face them. She can’t stand there and look at Lila’s smug little smirk and feel like she’s letting Lila get away with this –
Something bats against her thigh. It’s Tikki, still inside her purse, who looks up and gives her a reassuring little smile. Marinette swallows, then nods and pushes the classroom door open. Almost as though she’s walking to the gallows, every single classmate falls silent and turns to stare at her.
Fantastic. Everyday Ladybug, her arse.
“Oh, Marinette!” Lila clasps her hands to her chest. “I’m so happy to see you’re back! I’m so awfully sorry, I didn’t mean to get you expelled!”
“It wasn’t your fault, Lila!” Kim says. “You can’t help your condition!”
Ah. So, Lila has told them about her supposed condition. That makes Marinette’s job a lot easier. She pastes on a smile and tilts her head.
“I’m so sorry, Lila,” she forces herself to chirp. “I had no idea about your condition! I just really hate liars, see, and I saw you as a threat to my friends, and I’m so used to protecting them from Chloé. If I’d known that you couldn’t help it…”
“Wow, thanks,” Chloé drawls. Something flashes in Lila’s eyes, too fast for anyone else to see.
“You were just worried for us?” Rose rushes over and throws her arms around Marinette. “Oh, that’s so sweet of you, Marinette! It’s so good that you’re apologising!”
“Yes, Marinette, thank you for your apology,” Lila says with a tight-lipped smile. “I completely understand your reaction. And it’s so noble that you were just trying to protect your friends.”
With that, something in the atmosphere seems to shift, like Lila’s welcomed Marinette into the fold and her classmates have once again accepted her. It takes every little shred of willpower to keep smiling and not go on the attack, but Marinette forces herself to take her seat and listen to Alya’s speech about coming to her senses and pushing her jealousy aside.
God, this sucks.
.
“…and she said, “Oh, Lila, I simply must make up a music video about you! You have to be in it!” But you guys know me, I simply can’t bear the attention –”
“That must have been so hard for you, Lila!” Marinette says. It’s been a week of this, a week of pretending that Lila’s a saint, and god, if she wasn’t doing this to avenge Kagami for the Oni-chan thing just as much as for herself, she’d have lost her shit by now. “After the song that Jagged Stone wrote about you, it must have been so tempting to let Clara Nightingale make a music video about you!”
“Oh, yes!” Max says. “You did mention that Jagged Stone had written a song about you, Lila!”
“Can’t hate attention that much, then,” Chloé scoffs. Although she cops a few glares, there are also a few quizzical looks aimed at Lila.
“Oh – well, a song is so different to a music video!” Lila says.
“Not really?” Nino says. “They’re both songs, dude. One’s just got visuals.”
“And Nino would know,” Marinette says. “He’s the best DJ and filmmaker around!”
“Dude!” Nino reaches back to fist-bump her. Next to him, Adrien’s watching Marinette with a furrowed brow, like he’s trying to figure out why Marinette’s been so chummy with her mortal enemy for the past week. But she’s not confiding in him after that photoshoot. She’s telling no one. No one apart from Kagami. The last thing she needs is for Lila to get wind of what’s going on, if she doesn’t already suspect it.
“Well…it just felt odd, you know?” Lila says. “Jagged wrote that song because I saved his kitten, but I haven’t really done anything for Clara!”
The class seems to accept that. But Marinette doesn’t miss how a few of them, like Nathaniel and Alix, stare at Lila with frowns even after Ms Bustier arrives and calls the class to order.
“Hey, Marinette, can I talk to you real quick?” Adrien says once class is over and they’re filing out. Marinette forces herself to smile.
“Sure!” she says. She hasn’t really spoken to Adrien since the photoshoot he’d done with Lila, more for his sake so that she doesn’t explode about colluding with the enemy, but maybe it’s time to clear the air between them and just…get it all out there. Keenly aware of Lila’s scorching glare on the back of her neck, she follows Adrien out of Ms Bustier’s classroom and to the locker room, which is thankfully empty since it’s lunchtime.
“Do you…believe Lila about her condition?” Adrien says once the locker room door is shut and they’re separated from the rest of the school. Marinette scoffs.
“Of course I don’t,” she says. “But Kagami told me –”
“Kagami? You’re friends with Kagami?”
Marinette stares. “Yeah…though I don’t know what that’s got to do with this.”
“Nothing. I just…always got the impression that you didn’t like each other.”
“Not at first. But we sorted it out. Anyway, she told me that I have to play along with Lila’s condition, make myself look innocent, and Lila will eventually lie herself into a corner.”
“Which is what I said when she got back here, didn’t I?” Adrien says. Marinette raises an eyebrow.
“No,” she says. “You said to just let her be. Kagami told me to push her into lying herself into something she can’t escape while being all nice about it.”
Adrien winces. “Right. Marinette…I’m really sorry. I thought Lila was just an attention seeker. If I’d known she was that dangerous…I shouldn’t have let you get expelled before doing anything.”
“Like having a photoshoot with her?” Marinette says. Her eyes widen seconds after those words slip out. “S-Sorry! I’m sorry! That was really rude –”
“No, no, you’ve got every right to feel hurt,” Adrien says. “I didn’t know what to say before, or I would’ve come to you days ago. I didn’t want to be in that photoshoot with her. I only agreed so that she’d tell another lie to get you un-expelled.”
“You –” Marinette’s eyes widen. Everything makes sense now! Why else would Lila care about undoing her damage? “That was you? You sold your soul for me?”
“Of course I did.” Adrien crosses his arms. “You’re my friend. And if I’d done something before now, you wouldn’t have been expelled. Or nearly akumatised!”
“Adrien –”
“Do you know how terrifying it was to see you with that Hawkmoth mask over your face?” Adrien’s green eyes seem to plead with her very soul to understand. “To watch our everyday Ladybug nearly get akumatised? You’re so – so strong, Marinette. You always manage to stay positive and figure out a solution to the problem. Seeing you about to give in to Hawkmoth…it didn’t hit me until then just how bad this Lila problem was.”
Her cheeks flaming with the blood that pours into them, Marinette looks down at the floor and tries to form a coherent sentence, both in her mind and out loud. But what comes out of her mouth is something that vaguely sounds like a strangled groan; certainly nothing resembling words.
“So long as Lila leaves you alone, I’ll put up with her,” Adrien says. “Think of it as my contribution to yours and Kagami’s plan. The inside man, right?” Then he winks. Dear god, how is Marinette still alive?
“I – um – you shouldn’t – it’s your body!” she manages to babble. Adrien’s volunteering to do this for her? “You shouldn’t have to put up with someone treating you like a living mannequin!”
“She’s going to do that anyway,” Adrien says. “Remember what happens whenever we call her out? I might as well make use of it. It’s the least I can do for letting it get this far.”
“Um – uh – if sure you – if you’re sure!” Marinette forces out. She clears her throat and straightens up. “But you have to detox with me and Kagami. If that won’t hurt your plan, of course…”
“It won’t,” Adrien says. He rests a hand on her shoulder and yep, Marinette is deceased right now. “Lila can’t stop me from hanging out with my friends. And the odd photoshoot here and there will keep her happy. All she wants is attention, so if I give it to her, she won’t see you coming.” With another wink as he slides his arm around her, he says, “I’ll be the Chat Noir to your Ladybug.”
Marinette groans and shoves him. “You’d better not pun like he does or I’m tattling to Kagami.”
“I make no pawmises,” Adrien says with a grin that makes him look scarily like Chat Noir.
“Nope. That’s it. Get out. I can’t be seen with you.”
.
“You know, I never thought you two would actually get along,” Adrien says. “What exactly were you two fighting about?”
“Oh, you know,” Kagami shrugs. “How we were both crushing on you and thought the other was the spawn of Satan.”
Marinette chokes on her mouthful of André’s mint and raspberry ice cream (why raspberry? Last time it had been peach. Oh, well). How can Kagami just…up and say that? Doesn’t she have any shame?
“Oh, is that all?” Adrien laughs and licks his strawberry choc-chip and blackberry ice cream. “I thought it was something serious.”
“We eventually figured out that we were just a couple of idiots and it wasn’t worth fighting over a boy!” Marinette says in a high-pitched voice. Well, Kagami’s outed her, so she may as well roll with it. Although for some reason, she’s not mad at Kagami like she’d be if Alya just went up and told Adrien about her crush; probably because Kagami had as much to lose as her if Adrien took it the wrong way. And Kagami might not even have realised that you shouldn’t just up and tell your crush that you like them, considering her previous lack of social skills every other time Marinette’s talked to her.
“Good,” Adrien says. “I hate it when my friends are fighting.”
The tension in Marinette’s shoulders starts to melt away like ice cream on a hot day. So…Adrien doesn’t hate her for crushing on him. He’s not even making a big deal out of it. That’s…actually a relief.
“So, um…” Marinette forces out. “Are anyone you crush, Adrien? I mean – are you crushing on anyone?”
Adrien stares at her, then laughs. “Is that why you act weird around me? Thank god. I was worried that you still secretly hated me for the gum thing.”
“No! Never!” Marinette shakes her head wildly.
“Sorry, the gum thing?” Kagami says.
“Chloé put gum on her seat on my first day and she thought I’d done it because I tried to take it off,” Adrien says. “I managed to catch her after school and explain the misunderstanding but…I thought she still hated me for it and was just putting up with me.”
“Try the exact opposite,” Marinette groans. Her face must be just as scarlet as Adrien’s ice cream at this point, but she’s not dying or being horrifically rejected, so that’s something at least. “You gave me your umbrella and boom, it was…l-love at first sight.”
Kagami actually laughs long and loud at that, even throwing her head back. It’s so unlike her that both Marinette and Adrien are rendered silent as they stare at her in awe.
“Um…wow,” Marinette eventually says. “Have you checked her ice cream for drugs or something?”
Kagami hiccups and shakily licks her scoop of bright pink dragonfruit ice cream that’s neatly cushioning the same mint as Marinette’s. What that could mean, Marinette has no idea.
“There must be an akuma around,” Adrien says.
“You’re both awful,” Kagami says, her shoulders shaking with the last of her laughter. “And you’re both oblivious. So, Adrien, who is this girl you’re in love with if it’s not Marinette? I was always under the impression that Marinette was your target.”
Adrien blushes. “Don’t laugh, okay?” he says. “I’m in love with Ladybug.”
Beep. Beep. Marinette.exe has crashed. Adrien’s…in love with her? But not her? But yes her, he just doesn’t know it?
“Ladybug?” Kagami says. “Of course you’d fall for a superhero. Adrien Agreste can’t do anything by halves.”
“Well, she picked me to be a hero and I utterly trashed that opportunity, so I’ve probably got no chance with her,” Adrien says. “Maybe I need to focus on people a little closer to me.”
“You didn’t trash that chance,” Marinette squeaks. “You did your best every single time.”
Adrien frowns at her. “Every single time? How do you know which Miraculous Ladybug gave me? I Second Chanced every time I was out in public, so no one should’ve known.”
Fuck. Fuckfuckfuckmissionabort –
“Hold on…” Also frowning, Kagami leans in so close that Marinette can count each freckle on her pale cheeks, and Marinette’s so flustered by Adrien tilting his head at her and Kagami’s breath ghosting across her face that she doesn’t realise what’s going on until Kagami’s moved her hair aside to expose her black earrings. Adrien’s frown changes into bulging eyes.
Fuck!
“Oh my god, really?” Adrien throws his free hand in the air. “Of course she’s you! Of course she’s you! How didn’t I see it before? The one girl who’s just as brave and kind as her and I didn’t even – I’m an idiot.”
“No arguments there,” Kagami says dryly. “Thank you for trusting me to be Ryuuko, by the way. And for the advice.”
Marinette’s brain has once again shut down. Two people know her secret identity. How could she be so stupid and let something like that slip? “You can’t tell anyone!” she finally manages to say. “My secret identity is vital!”
“I know,” Kagami sighs. “Hence why I can’t be Ryuuko again.”
“You think I don’t know that?” Adrien holds up his right hand to show the silver ring he’s always worn. Except…no way…could it be…it can’t…but…
“Oh my god.” Kagami pinches the bridge of her nose. “So, you’ve been in love with each other without even realising. This is like those awful soap operas that people seem to enjoy watching.”
“You and your stupid puns!” is the first thing out of Marinette’s mouth when she’s finally able to speak again. “All this time! You’re such a – such a dork!”
“I know!” Adrien looks like the cat that got the cream. “But you secretly love my puns, milady.”
That nickname coming from Adrien’s mouth? Stuff Marinette in a coffin right damn now. “As if,” she scoffs. “They’re awful.”
“Don’t you mean –”
“No!” Marinette and Kagami shout.
“– clawful?”
“I’ve changed my mind,” Marinette says. “You can have him, Kagami.”
“You claimed him first,” Kagami says. “He’s all yours.”
“How about we just forget about him and date each other?” Marinette wrinkles her nose.
“Sounds like a plan, Marinette.”
“Hey!” Adrien whines.
.
“It was so cool of you to organise this picnic for Lila, girl!” Alya says. She nudges Lila. “Right?”
Lila’s smile is thin and sour, like someone’s replaced the lemon tart on her plate with an actual lemon. “Yes, Alya. It’s very considerate of Marinette.”
“I just wanted to make up for our rough start!” Marinette says. It’s kind of funny how she’s just naturally slipped into being as sugary sweet to Lila as possible, but after seeing how it annoys Lila to no end that she can’t actually retaliate without looking bad, it’s gotten easier over the past few weeks. Huh. She so owes Kagami a massive box of pastries for this.
“Hey, guys!” Adrien waves as he approaches with Kagami. Lila gasps and smiles brilliantly.
“Adrien! You made it to my picnic!” she says.
“Of course I did,” Adrien says and sits down next to Marinette, pulling her to lean against him. Thank god she’s been able to equate Adrien and Chat Noir in her mind since their outing to get ice cream; now, when he touches her, her cheeks only grow warm and her brain thankfully doesn’t turn to mush. “And I brought a friend, if that’s okay?”
“Lila, right?” Kagami says with a smile that’s all teeth as she also sits down and pulls Marinette’s legs into her lap. “My name is Kagami. Adrien’s told me so much about you.”
“He has?” Lila smiles at Adrien, though Marinette’s certain that she can see a wariness beneath that smile. “All good things, I hope.”
“Trust me, I’ve heard nothing but the best information from him,” Kagami says. “I’m so glad that he’s found a girlfriend he’s really close with.”
“Girlfriend?” Alya scoffs. “Lila’s just a friend. You must’ve heard wrong or something.”
“Yes, of course,” Kagami says. “Sorry for my presumption. After that photo you took with him and the photoshoots…well, I seem to have gotten the wrong idea.”
“Lila told me once that Adrien would be hers, so I don’t blame you,” Marinette says and passes Kagami a plate of macarons. Kagami eagerly selects a strawberry one.
“Oh! I meant to say that he’d be my friend!” Lila says. Marinette covers her mouth to conceal her smirk.
“Really? I’m sorry for misunderstanding!” she says. “What with your condition and all…now it makes sense. I was a little confused what you meant by that, since you can’t really own a person, and I suppose that must have added to my bad feelings.” With a sweet smile, she adds, “But we’re friends now, so no harm done!”
“Yes,” Lila says. “Friends…”
“You’re so stiff!” Marinette says to Kagami, pulling her down so that she’s snuggling against Marinette’s side. “This picnic is all about relaxing!”
“In that case…” Adrien heaves so that Marinette’s sitting in his lap, and she shuffles around to lean back against his chest so that Kagami can lie across her thighs. Now Lila looks like she’s swallowed nails, while Alya’s eyes are bulging at the sight of her ship snuggling.
“Excuse me, girl, but when did this happen?” Alya says.
“A few weeks ago,” Marinette says. “Kagami and I ended up spilling to Adrien. Now we’re all good friends!”
Yeah. Very good friends. But the others don’t need to know that, especially since Marinette and Adrien are not only going slow with figuring out what’s between them, but Marinette’s also been unable to get the memory of Kagami’s breath across her face out of her head.
Oh, well. Such is life. And if navigating the prehistoric days of having both a girlfriend and a boyfriend is currently occupying her mind more than Lila, well, Marinette counts that as a win.
“I’m so happy for you!” Lila says with a wide, plastic smile. “And a little envious, I must say. After the drama with my boyfriend in Germany –”
“Mhm,” Alya says. “Not the one in Argentina?”
“Oh – no, this is a different one –” Lila splutters. Alya just shrugs and turns to offer the croissant plate to Rose and Juleka.
Okay. So, Kagami may have been right about this one. Sure, Lila might have thought that she was giving herself a free pass with her “condition”, but now no one really takes her seriously anymore. No one hates her or anything but, well…no one really seems to believe her or care about what she says either. Probably because every word out of her mouth is about her, and people are finally starting to realise that a) she doesn’t actually talk about anything else and b) her promises still haven’t come to fruition.
It does mean that no one’s actually apologised to Marinette, but oh well. C’est la vie. At least they’re not treating her like the devil anymore. And Lila’s largely harmless now, so that’s something as well. She can’t exactly get akumatised once a week or whatever as well; not without drawing undue attention to herself, since even Chloé hasn’t been akumatised more than three times, if one counts Heroes’ Day.
“Your parents’ pastries are magical,” Kagami says, reaching for a blueberry muffin. “They could melt even my mother.”
“My father would probably demand I marry her instantly,” Adrien snorts. “Not just for the pastries, but for her talent. “Snatch her up before Audrey Bourgeois, son!” he’d say if he actually spoke to me more than once a year.” He makes a face.
“You’ll have to defeat me for Marinette’s hand,” Kagami says dryly. Adrien smirks and boops her on the nose.
“Fatality,” he says, and Marinette snorts.
“You know what?” Alya throws her hands up. “I give up. I don’t understand you weirdoes. I’m gonna go find Nino and leave you three to be…whatever you three are.”
“Bye, Alya!” Marinette, Adrien, and Kagami chorus at her back. Now they’re left with Lila, who checks to make sure that no one’s looking before snarling at them.
“What are you three up to?” she hisses.
“What do you mean?” Adrien says. “I realised that I liked both Marinette and Kagami, and they liked me too.”
“And each other,” Marinette says, running her fingers through Kagami’s silky, dark hair.
“Why are you being so nice?” Lila jabs a finger at Marinette. “You hate me! And I know Kagami does too! Adrien, you’re supposed to be my –”
“Your friend?” Adrien says. “Of course I am, Lila. I did say that before our photoshoot, didn’t I?”
Marinette smiles at Lila, sugary sweet, not even finding satisfaction in how Lila’s bottom lip juts out and quivers like she’s going to throw a fit. Maybe the Marinette of a few weeks ago would have, but now? Honestly, she just pities Lila. Marinette’s the one with a boyfriend and a girlfriend, and she and Kagami are the ones that Adrien likes. So, she reaches over to pick up the plate of macarons and holds it out to Lila.
“Want a macaron, friend?” she chirps.
Just thought of a case closed like au where Tommy is basically Conan (important to note that the characters real name is Jimmy, but when he becomes a kid he uses the name Conan)
In the anime some dudes try to kill Jimmy, but it ends up making him a kid and only his inventor/ mad scientist friend knows (I’ll be referring to him as Doc). Because I never have an original thought, Dream is obviously the guy trying to kill him during exile and thinks he’s dead. Everyone else just thinks he’s off in exile or ran away. Now for some situations and dynamics I think might be cool. Also all of these will be anime logic cause it’s based off an anime. It’s all ooc now suffer through my rambles
You know that library scene where Jimmy has to think of a new name? I am absolutely keeping that it’s an requirement. Tommy finds Techno’s house and Techno discovers him in the attic. Tommy ends up backed against the bookshelves and sees the Iliad and Odyssey, and so when asked for his name he says Homer.
 If Techno doesn’t realize it’s Tommy it would be like Richard and Conan, but if Richard was actually competent. Tommy might try to lead techno towards his and l’manburgs enemies. Techno would definitely notice, but he cares about the kid and entertains the thoughts until he realizes that there might be a point
honestly i just want to see techno doing his usual stuff and Tommy ends up following along. Most of the time causing trouble for techno, but sometimes he thinks something kinda pog and joins in on whatever destruction techno is doing (i know this makes techno one of those anime villains that occasionally team up for the greater good, but like that’s the point. Case Closed is an anime with the biggest case of anime logic like it’s the only way. Our favorite pig has to be reduced to this I’m sorry not sorry)
Also I know that a competent Richard just wouldn’t be Richard but shhhhh let me have this
If Techno does realize he’s Doc. Like that inventor dude is perfect. Just tosses Tommy some potions and golden apples. Mainly lets him do his own thing, but as they get closer helps out a little. Definitely gives Tommy maxed out netherite armor practically immediately.
Honestly whether Techno knows or not he’s still like Doc, but I think if he doesn’t know then he’s going to be a little more like Richard.
Dynamic with Phil could go in 3 main ways
Phil instantly knows because he’s immortal and has seen everything. He does some research to figure out how to turn him back, but he’s not too bothered and is in no hurry. Just mainly laughs and makes fun of him, especially if Techno doesn’t know. (Once Tubbo and Ranboo adopt Michael he takes the opportunity to bother Tommy and runs with it. Just sends him off for a playdate or comparing the two when Tommy does something childish)
Phil doesn’t know but has seen this before. He eventually finds out and laughs about it, but techno would probably already know. Very similar to the first one, but shock value. I think it would be really funny
Phil doesn’t know and didn’t think it was possible. Maximum shock value and maybe some emotive wings thing here. Techno most likely knows, but would also be funny if he didn’t. Just the child that’s been living in his home is actually one of the dudes that betrayed him. (I think it would go with if Phil was the one to find him in the attic when he said the fake name. Just techno already knows and is slightly freaking out and Tommy just giving the worst name ever. Phil would definitely know that something is up, but he trusts Techno.)
Butcher Army things
Just doesnt happen for plot reasons, which is valid but come think of the drama and angst
If they come before Tommy is there then honestly it’s just the same plot, but Techno is even more cautious of Tommy, especially if he does know he’s Tommy. But also imagine he comes home from nearly being killed, and a random child he’s never met is there. He knows that Homer isn’t his real name, but he’s too tired to care and he’s not so heartless as to leave a kid out to die. No deal or partnership is made, just Tommy being told not to steal anything and to make himself useful. Basically just treated like Edward and allowed to exist in the same space.
If they come while Tommy is there we know that Tommy won’t just stay hidden. He might get spotted in a window, he might rush out, he might be outside when they come, or my personal favorite
As they’re taking techno away he might grab a bunch of random potions and weapons and run after them. Would most likely be caught and used as a hostage, but I bet people would be a lot more uncomfortable with a kid as the hostage (might even make some people second guess about l’manburg). But what if he is successful, and Techno is saved by a little Tommy/Homer. But what if Techno sees a random kid he doesn’t know show up with his own potions and spare weapons and helps him escape. It would be the greatest thing ever with Techno’s ultimate equivalency thing. He owes this kid a favor, which could lead to techno being more active in finding out what happened to Tommy.
The library scene still happens cause it’s a requirement, but it happens after everything with the butcher army. So this either smooths over the whole thing of him actually being Tommy, or Techno doesn’t press on being told an obviously fake name. Either way techno would let him stay, but imagine the hijinks if techno doesn’t know
imagine the angsty moment when techno realizes that ‘Homer’ knows more about what’s happening to Tommy than he’s letting on and Techno gets frustrated and yells at him about if he really wants to find Tommy and the truth comes out
True Case Closed fashion would have some complicated plan to withhold his identity but this is Tommy and Technoblade we’re talking about. Without massive outside help that wouldn’t be happening, and even then it would just make Techno even more suspicious
Scenario for if techno doesn’t know: he notices how similar ‘Homer’ and Tommy act and wonders out loud how old Tommy is. While he knew that Tommy was young, he didn’t think that Wilbur would have child fight in multiple wars and be vice president. Cue Tommy being flabbergasted
I know that has fix-it fic vibes but they exist for a reason. Let me imagine conflict resolution in peace
Imagine all the complications on people trying to figure out how Techno knows ‘Homer’
Crackfic style: When Tommy is asked why his name is Homer he in a panic tells people that his father really liked Greek Mythology. With all of Techno’s mythology references and Tommy being around him a lot people think Techno is his dad.
The confusion, the misunderstanding. Phil congratulating techno and confronting on not being told, Phil knowing and laughing at the ridiculousness.
Makes the most sense with if Techno already knows, but if he doesn’t he would probably have a talk on how he’s flattered, but that he shouldn’t be a father and blah blah blah. Maybe a talk about being equals? idk this is already in crackfic area it doesn’t make sense
People think they’re brothers. Honestly a lot of different ways this could happen, but would still be funny.
Nephew!!!!! Would honestly be less likely to be disputed by Techno, but he probably still wouldn’t be a huge fan of it. Might follow after the dad rumor as who else would be that into mythology than Techno’s family?
Family friend’s kid. Probably the cover story and where they end up with, but leaves a lot of room for speculation. What family? Who would trust him with a child? Is he just trying to hide his true relation? I view dsmp as basically a soap opera and by god I will make it even more of one
Most likely: a combination of everything. everyone has a different idea and no one knows the truth.
If Tubbo was the one to know he would be the tech guy, but not like Doc was. He would be fully involved in helping Tommy get back to normal
Phil might find out if Tubbo asks suspicious questions
Tommy would get a front row seat to Tubbo and Ranboo getting married and he would be happy for them but would not stop complaining
People might think Tubbo is grieving by helping out a kid that acts a lot like Tommy
When confronted on where the kid came from he might mention how he told Jschlatt that he was pregnant and how could everyone else forget?
Honestly ghostbur might bring that up and they just roll with it
When Michael comes around will absolutely tell Tommy to go “play with his brother”. Would be kinda similar to Phil with teasing Tommy about that, but more exaggerated. People might find out due to the teasing
Ranboo
insert the million ways he can find out due to techno or tubbo
He moves in after doomsday and figures it out by ‘Homer’s’ mannerisms
Maybe he sees Tommy become a kid and comes to the conclusion that the only place safe is with Phil, which leads to Techno basically taking care of him
Would be so awkward but imagine the begging and explaining. Doesn’t make sense in terms of the smp but anime logic
Butcher army drama intensified as Tommy is captured. Would fight whoever tries to hurt Tommy.
If we go with true case closed style Tommy would secretly pass supplies to Ranboo, who secretly passes them to Techno with some dramatic speech and a soccerball, but that doesn’t quite fit here.
Might have Tommy stay at his L’manburg house and it all goes terribly. They eventually go to Techno’s together cause i like the plot line
In this case Tommy might find out about Ranboo unknowingly being involved with Dream
Would put Tommy in charge of watching over Michael when the syndicate comes to snowchester
If Tommy shows up when he’s already moved in it would be extremely complicated to explain but I don’t think they’d mind all that much? Techno wouldn’t like him stealing his stuff, but it’s less aggravating when it’s a child who probably had to steal to live. And anyways they took in Ranboo, who is basically a kid in need, and so how can they get mad at Ranboo for doing the same? Techno and Phil would let them be with the occasional offer to bring food, or let them stay while Ranboo makes an actual house
Tommy is probably there when the disc is found and there’s a whole range of scenarios to do there take your place
During Techno and Ranboo’s adventure for sponges and totems Phil would offer to watch Tommy.
Insert what happened with Rachel almost figuring it out, but Phil isn’t fooled. He responded to the name Tommy and the signs are there. He has a long talk with Ranboo and Tommy about what’s happening when he gets back
Ranboo would absolutely try to pull off complex plans to get people not to notice, but because it’s Ranboo they believe him or ignore it. Tubbo would definitely press a lot more than others, but I don’t think Ranboo would break. He has no moral backbone but this isn’t for him to tell.
Insert Tommy in a panic tells the syndicate his dad liked Greek mythology and Techno makes the comment of him not knowing that Ranboo liked mythology too. Phil would make the joke too, not mattering if he knows or not
Michael
Just thinks Tommy/Homer is fun to be around.
They get into trouble together, especially if Ranboo and Tubbo don’t know he’s Tommy.
If they do know he’s Tommy they’re pissed
Craziness for who knows about Tommy and/or Michael
Tommy and Techno are worried/and or suspicious about Ranboo so one day they follow and find out about Tubbo and Michael. The syndicate checking out snowchester is so much more comical as Techno pretends not to know.
Circle of secrets as Phil, Ranboo, and Tommy knows about Tubbo and Michael. Only Techno and Tommy know that ‘Homer’ is Tommy. Tommy is the only one who knows everything and absolutely holds it over techno’s head. Everyone knows that something is up, but asking would mean reveling their secret as well
yes this is the most anime like scenario that’s why im bringing it up
Phil would be most likely to just casually drop Tommy off with Michael. Techno might if push comes to shove. Tubbo would do so momentarily. Ranboo wouldn’t want to, but might end up doing it the most because he’s worried about people hurting Michael.
Now what makes this like Case Closed is the attempt to get Tommy back to normal
aka it barely exists
Conan becomes normal momentarily a few times but then gets back to being a kid. It just keeps on going. The show is still running.
There’s this attempt to go after Dream but it never really works, Dream might never find out. He somehow ends up in the prison anyways and still nothing happens
It’s just frustrating and nothing ever really happens we’re just all suffering
12.06 - Celebrating the life of Asa Fox Episode Review/Recap
Tumblr media
Honestly, I see a picture like this on a promo and I have no hesitation diving straight in. Okay, you all know I have a hurt!Sam fetish, complete with writhing on the floor padabooty, let’s not bang on about it.
Official episode summary: THREE WINCHESTERS ARE BETTER THAN ONE – When hunters gather together to celebrate the life and tragic death of one of their own, Sam (Jared Padalecki) Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Mary (guest star Samantha Smith) must take action when a demon starts picking off hunters one by one. John Bedham directed the episode written by Steven Yockey
My optimum number of Winchesters is two but yeah, I don’t mind a buy two get one extra free here and there.
Overall, I do really enjoy this episode, even after rewatch but putting under a cut to save space.
There’s a lot of things I don’t like about the Dabb era, and in terms of this episode, retconning Mary to be a hunter after parenthood is one of those things that niggles a little (I know she was a hunter before parenthood which also irks for different reasons) so there’s a lot I have to shake off from my mind in order to be able to enjoy an episode. And on rewatch, I had less issues than I did the first time (but given I’m coming at this straight from season 15, it could be a case of me just grasping onto absolutely anything that isn’t terrible).
Aside from the Mary thing, I love so much about this episode, not least because there isn’t a single mention of feathers who I am seriously going to struggle watching in any episode going forward thanks to 15.18 debacle.
Anyway moving swifly on…
First up is the intro and I love the introduction of Asa Fox as a character. We first meet him as a child, who Mary saves from a werewolf attack. And then we see him become interested in hunting (as Mary tells him she’s soon going to retire, and he’s worried that if she does: who’s gonna save people like me?)
Asa decides it’s going to be him and through a montage set to Bachman-Turner Overdrive’s Roll On Down The Highway, we see Asa grow up to become a pretty awesome hunter. Throughout all this time, he writes postcards to Mary, but doesn’t send them (no address) so he has quite a collection by the end and I think it’s all his hunts.
I’m so caught up in how awesome Asa is and how much I like this new character, I’m completely jarred when he comes to a sudden and unexpected end via hanging which also brings the music to an abrubt halt.
Great intro, Asa said very few words but I’m already mourning not getting to know him more.
After the opening titles, we switch to Jody who is chilling out at home about to watch Netflix when there’s a knock at the door.  Turns out it’s Sam and Dean who have just finished up a hunt and stopped by to visit. Unfortunately the cardboard cutout “just add water” instant girl hunters are at a concert. Jody offers to feed them, and Dean lets her know that he killed Hitler since the last time they saw her.
Sam: *huffs and walks away Jody: *blank stare “thank you?” Dean: You’re welcome
Love it.
They have pizza and watch Netflix and have a debate about rom coms. Sam says Dean is more of “an animated Japanese erotica chick.”
A little oversharing on your brother’s habits there Sammy, but Sam is not concerned in the least.  In fact, I love how totally relaxed Sam is sitting here. He’s clearly comfortable at Jody’s slumped on her sofa.
The phone rings and Jody goes to answer it, Sam and Dean have a conversation about Sam oversharing which Dean’s uncomfortable with.
Sam: Dude, be proud of your hobbies. It makes you who you are.
Supportive Sam encouraging his brother!
Jody returns and walks past them, she’s clearly upset. The boys follow to watch her start packing.  They ask what’s wrong and Jody says a friend of hers died – it’s poor Asa from the opener and I wasn’t expecting a link from Jody to Asa.
The name is familiar to Dean and he’s trying to figure it out when Sam says it’s the guy Ellen used to tell stories about at the Roadhouse.  Asa apparently killed five wendigos in a single night and now I’m even more mourning his loss. Seems Jody met Asa when he came to town on a hunt, she caught him out when he tried to pretend to be an FBI agent by the name, Fox Mulder. He’s worse than the Winchesters!  Anyway she helped him out on a ghoul hunt and they kept in touch.The boys decide to go with her to the wake, John didn’t let them go to hunter gatherings outside of bars as he always said they were trouble.
Turns out Asa lived in Manitoba, Dean says “oh Canada” when he gets out of the car on arrival.  Sam is impressed with the house which yes, nice digs for a hunter.
We meet Asa’s mother, Lorraine and she knew her son was a hunter. She’s heavily in to the drink but she’s just lost her son, so I’m cutting her some slack as I can’t imagine anything worse.
Dean finds his way to the kitchen (and the beer) which has no label. He’s concerned but “Bucky” homebrewed it himself and it’s strong.  Dean introduces himself which gets the attention of the several hunters in the room,
Randy: No freakin’ way. Aren’t you dead? Like, four times? Dean: Yeah. It, uh, didn't take.
Just wait till they hear about Mystery Spot where he died over a hundred times in a single day!
Sam fanboy hunter: Wait. Your brother here? Sam? Dean: Yeah, he's still alive, too. He's –
Fanboy doesn’t even wait for Dean to finish, he’s off to find Sam.  Same fanboy (named Elvis), same tbh
While Dean’s making friend’s in the kitchen – and learning not to say the name ‘Wendigo’ which turns out to be a trigger word to take a drink - Sam’s homed in on hotboy Max and his equally hot sister Alicia.  Turns out their mother is a good witch who taught Alicia how to hunt bad witches.
Sam (to Max): What did she teach you? Max: Uh, mostly how to seduce men. Alicia: She also taught him some magic, which is actually more useful. Max: Eh, mostly the men thing.
Max is definitely getting his flirt on, making sure Sam knows he’s into hot men, and we cannot deny, Sam is a hot man. Before Sam can flirt back, Elvis interrupts and introduces himself and then makes Sam feel awkward when he asks Sam about being possessed by the devil. Bad Elvis!
Max (and Alicia) are both pissed on Sam’s behalf,
Alicia: Dude, you don't just ask someone about something that messed up. Max: Seriously, back off.
Protective!Max alert, I’m going to need a few minutes with my new ship Samax, though to be honest, the way Max and Alicia are sitting together, it might need to be Samaxia, which no issue other than it sounds like a drug that gets advertised on television with all kinds of side effect warnings, like may cause death...)
Elvis makes Sam feel so awkward that he runs off to go find a beer. Elvis then tries to talk to Max and Alicia and they outright just tell him to go away. Love them.
Aww, Sam got his beer and then went off to find his big brother. In fairness, I think they’ve been separated five minutes at this point and in that time Sam was accosted by Elvis. Dean’s looking through Asa’s office and discovers he has a real angel blade. Sam asks if Dean knew people tell stories about them.
Dean: Yeah. Apparently, we’re a little bit legendary. Sam: Yeah, but, I mean, so was Asa. Then a hunt went bad, and he ended up hanging from a tree, alone in the woods. Dean: He died on the job. No better way to go. Sam: You really believe that? Dean: Yeah. What, you don’t? I mean, come on, Sam, it's not like we're in the “live till you're 90, die in your sleep” business. This? [Dean points at Asa’s hunting wall] This only ends one way.
It’s difficult watching this knowing the ultimate end as I know Sam’s never agreed with this, being the one to want to see an end to hunting at some point; but you can’t deny Dean has been consistent in how he thinks he’s going to go out and has always seemed at peace with that.
Sam says they should get back and Dean agrees but warns Sam not to say “wendigo” to anyone. I love that he warns Sam. Every time Dean is a good brother, it just reminds me how much of a bad sister I am as I would not have passed on the warning. Sam’s confused about why he can’t say it but seems to just accept it.
Only a few people are around by the end of the night, still telling stories of Asa’s epic hunts - mainly Bucky. Why show, why give us this amazing man and kill him off in the first five minutes?!.
Anyway, turns out that the “ghoul story” from earlier had more to it. Asa and Jody got together for some “sweet sweet time alone”. Jody plays it down, says it was more of a casual thing. Turns out Asa could beat Dean in the ladies game and I think even Alicia and Max mother was one of his conquests (we saw this in the opening montage as well, Asa kissing a different woman in his car in between hunts).
Randy asks if people want a beer and heads to the kitchen, and I fear Randy is not long for this world as he walks down the hallway alone. We stay on him as he returns and my anxiety is kicking in, even with expecting something, it’s sudden when his throat is slit and he’s dragged off down a side corridor by someone wearing black.
Alicia walks back into the living room carrying two beers – and we’re reminded she’s dressed all in black?!  Alicia? Surely not.
We see someone enter the door and only see their boots as they walk, they stop just outside the living rom where everyone is talking. Loraine hears the footsteps stop and tells the stranger to come in and not hover.
Turns out it’s Mary.  Awkward Winchester family reunion, given I think from memory Mary walked out an episode or so ago.
Sam, Dean, Jody and Mary go somewhere more quiet to talk.
Mary: What are you doing here? Dean: What are you doing here?
I love the reversed dynamic of Sam being go between Dean and Mary (where it was the reverse between Sam and John).  Sam introduces Mary to Jody as their mother.
Jody: I thought– I thought you were... Mary: I was. Jody: [quietly] Wow. Wow! [She hugs Mary excitedly] It is so nice to meet you!
She belatedly sees the awkward tension and ships out to give them “some family time”
Dean asks where Mary’s been and she responds she’s been using John’s journal to work through a few things.
Dean: You could’ve just asked us, you know. Sam: Dean, come on. Dean: She could’ve. Mary: It’s okay. He’s right. But… This is something I needed to do alone. I… Listen, most of the people I knew are dead. And then I remembered Asa. He was so young when I met him, I thought he must still be around. And then… I saw an article about his death, and, uh… Dean: So you’ll text us once a week, maybe, but you’ll drive all the way to Canada to see some dead guy? Well, that’s awesome. I’m gonna get some air. Mary: Dean, wait...
Mary tries to go after Dean but Sam stops her. Sam knows his brother.
Jody on the other hand stops Dean at the door and pretty much says she’s here if Dean wants to talk about anything other than killing Hitler (which Dean spent the five hour drive telling her in excruciating detail.). She talks about giving anything to have her dead husband and son back but at the same time she would be worried it wouldn’t be the same which gives Dean some food for thought in regard to his complicated relationship with Mary.
Mary’s in the kitchen getting a beer, Lorraine introduces herself as Asa’s mother. Mary introduces herself as Mary Winchester, which Lorraine can’t believe as Mary should be her age. Mary: It’s a long story. She says she’s sorry. Lorraine says she should be, Mary’s the reason her son didn’t become an astronaut. She’s very bitter and hands Mary the box with the postcards Asa wrote to her. Mary defends herself and says she saved Asa’s life.
Lorraine: [scoffing] What am I supposed to say to that? After you, Asa got so… Hunting was his whole life. He never married. Never had a family, kids. And now… enjoy the wake.
I love this next scene between Sam and Mary. Sam finds Mary and asks if she’s all right. She thrusts the box of postcards at him and says she’s fine. She goes into Asa’s office and tells Sam she saved Asa when he was a kid, and this is all on her.
Sam: Well, no. Obviously, mom, he made his own decisions. And he helped a lot of people, you know?
Sam and free will and then we have Season 15 debacle. Pfff
Mary tells him that everywhere she goes and everything she does just feels wrong, but she’ll get used to it.Sam tells her he understands, she just needs space and so does Dean, (who we see outside drinking from his flask), He says Dean is just scared they are going to lose her again,
Sam: “that – that because we're (Sam and Dean) hunters, you're gonna walk away. But I know that’s not true. Even looking at these… [Sam holds out the box of Asa’s postcards to Mary] I mean, you saved Asa in 1980, um, after Dean was born. After everyone thought you quit hunting. Seems like you couldn’t stop then, and… I’m guessing you can’t stop now, either. This job, this life, is crazy and insane. But it’s in our blood. Come on. [Sam puts his arm around Mary] Mary: Where we going? Sam: To say goodbye to Asa.
I love that Sam understands more than anyone the desire to have normal/safe, pulling against the need to save people/hunt things so I love this scene between him and Mary and I like Mary a little bit more because of it. Damn you Jared! You even got me to like Claire once!
They go to say goodbye to Asa and I like when Mary undoes the cover over his face and we get blood dripping onto Asa’s forehead. It’s interesting to have both Sam and Mary in this scene in a callback to Sam’s nursery scene.  They both look up and it’s Randy, tied to the rafters, dead and bleeding from his neck wound.
Back in the living room, Bucky is still telling stories about Asa. Sam and Mary rush in and Sam tells everyone they need to leave because Randy is dead. I like this, it’s like a murder mystery now. All of a sudden, water is shut off (this is new canon?), and the twins can smell Sulphur. Lights are flickering. Demon alert!
Bucky tells them it’s Jael, a crossroads demon who hangs people, which is his thing, snaps necks (Asa), slits throats (Randy). Turns out Asa exorcised the demon but now it’s back. Bucky tries to open the door, Elvis helps but it slams shut.
Max (trying to impress Sam): you’re wasting your time [he waves a hand in front of the door and we see red symbols] Max says the entire house has been warded.
Not sure if that impressed Sam or not but Max had me at “Seriously, back off” and now this?  *Fans self
Anyway, it means they are trapped inside.
Back outside with Dean, he’s still drinking from his flask. He hears footsteps and doesn’t bother turning around, just tells the person to “go away”. I think he thinks it’s Mary, but turns out to be Billy saying “you’re not the boss of me.”
Dean: Billie. What’re you doing here? Billie: My job. [Dean chuckles] Well, I’m not dead yet. Billie: Shame. But actually, I just finished inside. I was reaping a fresh soul.
Wait, what?  But Dean’s brother is in there! Dean’s pissed and marches to the door.
Inside, Bucky is telling the group more about the demon Jael. Asa exorcised the demon but not before it killed a first nations girl by tying a noose around her neck.
Outside Dean is rattling and banging on the door
Dean: Sam. Sammy! Hey! Billie: You can huff and puff, but that house is on supernatural lockdown. They can’t even hear you.
Bucky is still expositioning and Dean is still trying to get past that old Winchester nemesis “the door”, even throwing a solid statue at it, but nothing is happening.
Okay, we’ve now reached the only part of this episode I have an issue with. We’ve got a group of hunters standing around wondering who the demon is amongst them and not one of them can remember the tests for a demon. Sam come on!  You knew Christo in season 1 and you performed a reverse exorcism in season 8.
Anyway Elvis accuses Alicia of not being in the room and Max says Dean wasn’t in the room either (uh Max buddy, accusing Sam’s brother isn’t going to win you any points in the whole wooing thing, just fyi - of course wooing Sam in the first place is pretty dangerous terratory)
Finally Alicia remembers about holy water but they are all out. Elvis says they can just make more but Mary reminds them the water is off. Uh? The toilet bowl?
Dean’s stopped attacking the door and turns to Billie and asks, What did you do?  Billy says it wasn’t her, she’s just cleaning up the mess but “it’s always nice to see a Winchester who can’t get what he wants.”
Dean: You think this is funny? Huh? Hunters are dying in there. Billie: Everyone dies.
Dean is pretty much losing his shit and I’d like to remind people that at this point, he doesn’t know which hunter has died.
Back with the group, Sam finally remembers his brother is outside so all focus is on Alicia who starts coughing. I think she’s faking it to screw with her brother (totally what I would do) but no,
Alicia/Jael: Alicia’s not here right now. [Her eyes glow red] Leave a message. [she punches Max] Oh, you’re a fun group. We’re gonna have a good time tonight.
Jael leaves Alicia in a cloud of demon smoke and flies into the fireplace. Sam and Max get Alicia up (Samaxia forever – warning for side effects which may include internal bleeding and even death)
They now need to figure who in the house Jael has jumped into. Jody gives the orders (I’ll forgive this, she’s a cop) and they pair off to search the house (why not sweep room to room?), Anyway, Sam’s with Mary and Jody’s with Bucky.
Dean’s worked out that Billy got in to reap the soul so if she can get in, she can get Dean in.
Billie: I could, I suppose. But– Dean: Do it! Billie: But it’s a one-way ticket. And you’re gonna owe me one.
Billie, Sammy is in there, do you think Dean cares about “cosmic consequences” at a time like this? There is a door between them right now ffs!  Sammy may even be dead and Dean does not want him decomposing before he can find a crossroads to make a deal!
Elvis who was supposed to be partnering with Lorraine, left her briefly to get her a double (vodka I presume?).  Anyway Dean comes flying through the door like the overly dramatic bitch he is whenever Sam is in danger.
Dean (whipping out demon knife): Where’s my brother? [he’s already marching past them btw to go look]
THIS IS MY SHOW!  What moron thought this show was going to end with DeanCas?  Come on, don’t be shy, show yourselves so we can point and laugh because you are going to have an epic tantrum approximately 3 and a half years from this episode which could have been prevented if you’d watched the damn show, instead of wallpaper. By the way, in this episode, Castiel was played by the statue Dean threw at the door. [It represents the violent nature of the Destiel relationship – I have a 500 page meta on this if anyone is interested].
Lorraine accuses Dean of being the demon.
Dean: Demon? Lorraine: Kill him! Dean: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Easy, lady. Look, I’m not a demon, okay? I’m one of the good guys. Now stick with me, do what I say, and everybody’ll get out of here, okay? Everybody!
Elvis – making far too much use of his screentime matches Dean’s dramatics by pulling out his own knife and saying ominiously “well, not everybody” [complete with red flashing eyes].
In this episode, Dean is allowed to be a proper hunter and is able to fight.  He taunts the demon, “You’re kinda slow for a demon, aren’t you?” which, he seriously is, no idea how this demon got my wonderful favourite side character “Asa” killed (if he’s not in the final watching Kansas play at the Road House along with all my other favourites, I will be pissed and have a full week meltdown on Twitter – just fyi) [*I won’t really because I’m not insane. Please don’t report me.]
Dean tells the demon to go to hell. The demon tells Dean that Hell is a “complete train wreck” (uh, no, what is a “complete train wreck” is most of season 12-15) Hell is much more pleasant.  Dean repeats for the demon to go to hell and starts reciting an exorcism (finally, the smart brother is in the room).  Love hearing Dean recite the exorcism. Demon says nuh uh though and snaps Elvis’ neck complete 180 which causes Lorraine to scream, the black smoke escapes from Elvis still standing body. Elvis collapses on the floor and Lorraine is wailing. And I can say “Elvis has left the bulding” which I’ve been waiting the entire episode to be able to say. I’m marginally disappointed Dean didn’t.
Dean helps Lorraine up while shouting “Sammeh!” which brings Sammeh running to the living room.
Mary: Dean. We thought you were outside. Dean: Yeah, I got back in. Sam: How? Dean: It was a one-time deal. Won’t happen again.
Thankfully, there’s no time for Sam to initiate the Spanish inquisition on THAT right now. They account for everyone – except Elvis obviously. The lights go out and everyone puts flashlights on (Max and Alicia have the phone torch on – me as a hunter!) but Dean pulls out the knife which Alicia and Max look at.
Alicia: Mm, impressive. Dean: Demon blade. Kills ‘em dead. Max and Alicia in unison: Nice.
While I try to work out a Sam/Max/Alicia/Dean ship name, Bucky suggests lighting candles, Dean says they need a devil’s trap. Sam says “on it” and Dean is right there with him “yep”.  My boys working in sync!
Dean’s plan is for them all to stand in the devil’s trap. The person who won’t get in, is the demon. Clever plan. Mary is impressed and it’s nice for her to see how well one of her sons turned out as a hunter and the other is a cute dumbass – at least Sam had a flashlight.
Mary goes off on her own for some reason and goes to get the angel killing blade from Asa’s office.
Max tries flirting with Sam again, asking what kind of pentagram they are doing
Sam: Standard pentagram. Nothing fancy. Max: I like a Fifth Pentacle of Mars. It’s got more character.
Max bringing his A game to the flirting, I like it. Alicia doesn’t like all the flirting: “Because character is really what matters right now.”  They are just like Sam and Dean! Spin off of codependent witch siblings right tf now. Please and thank you.
Jody sees Mary return and is suspicious she was off on her own. She whispers to Sam that she thinks Mary is possessed, she gets increasingly worried which draws the immediate attention of Dean who comes over and asks what is going on (demon knife drawn out and ready once again). Sam quietly tries to tell Dean that Jody thinks their mom is a demon, but Jody shouts, No, I don’t think, I know! I know she’s a demon. [points accusingly at Mary] which prompts Bucky to steps away from Mary and reaches for his knife.
Mary: Hey! Jody: Kill her! Use the knife! Kill her now! Sam: Whoa, whoa, whoa. Wait. Hold on a second, [turns to look at Jody] Jody, you… You don’t sound like yourself. Dean (not even looking around):That’s because she’s not herself. Are you?
Oh my poor Sam Dumbchester, on rewatch, this episode did you dirty, I was sucked in by my love of Asa Fox and the whole door thing and the Sammeh! I’m so ashamed. Hands my bitter Sam girl platinum membership card back to the bitter Sam girl club in recognition I am no longer worthy of holding it Jody turning into the red eyed demon is in the running for worst “playing of a different character ever” but it’s up against stiff competition from Casifer, Empty!Castiel, Gestapo!Castiel and gayforpay!Castiel and is mercifully short. My main issue with this demon is there is no real consistency through the different bodies it inhabits. They should all have agreed how to play it imo and I do think Kim goes Disney villain OTT but not enough to cause embarrassment, just would have been better if the performance had been toned down some.
Demon Jody had hoped they would kill their mom “wouldn’t that be a riot?”
Dean (sarcastically): Yeah, super fun
Sam tries to attack Jody and is thrown. Big brother is pissed and tries to attack but is thrown too. Uh, how come the lame demon can fight now?
Anyway, Mary attacks and tries to kill Jody with the demon blade and manages to scratch her arm, but Sam says no and pulls Mary away. .
Mary: What are you doing?! She’s a demon. We kill demons. Sam: No, but she’s Jody.
I like this that Mary doesn’t know you don’t just go around killing people, you try to save them first.
The demon is bored and claps her hands, and everyone collapses onto the ground and cannot move (where was this kickass power earlier?).  The demon says she’s heard so many stories about the Winchesters, she stands over sam and says, “The idea that he left a meatsuit alive is just so deliciously weak.” Sam gives his “bite me” face.
As for the rest, she’s been inside their heads and starts spilling out secrets – the twins are Asa’s children (I forgot about this detail), Lorraine apparently tried to sabotage Asa’s truck to stop him going out hunting (which is a nice call back to him trying to fix the truck in the episode earlier).  She says Jody fantasized about a life with Asa.  Bucky manages to get up to attack but Jody grabs him and holds him on his knees.
Jody/Jael: And you. Bucky. Brave, brave Bucky. I was there that night. Tell these nice, stupid people what you did. Tell them what you took from me. Asa was mine.
I like this next scene, Sam manages to stand up and start the exorcism before he’s thrown across the room again. Dean picks up where Sam left off, until he’s thrown through a glass door, the twins are next and get pinned to the wall.
Bucky finally confesses that he killed Asa [and the way he’s dramatically thrown to the floor would never have made it into a scene in seasons 1 to 5]. Oh show, weeps for the quality that once was. Season 12 (heavy sigh).
Mary stands up and finishes the exorcism which sends the demon back to hell.
Sam rushes over to help Jody who says, “That… sucked”
[Try re-watching your performance Kim!]
Lorraine: Bucky, what did you do?
They all turn and look at Bucky.
Bucky says they were hunting in the woods for Jael and he wanted to go back and get the angel blade. Asa wanted to keep hunting but Bucky pushed him and Asa fell and cracked his head and died, which I feel kind of sorry for, not like he did it deliberately and he lost his best friend [and lets be real, it’s not the worst thing a supposed “best friend” has done on this show].  It’s a very tragic end for a great hunter (don’t fast forward to 15.20)
Bucky asks what they are going to do to him.
Alicia: Tell everyone, every hunter we meet. They’re gonna know your name, Bucky. Know what you did. Max: You like stories. This is the story everyone’s gonna tell about you. Forever
I guess I get Max and Alicia’s anger, Asa being their dad and all. It’s just tragic all round because I do feel it was an unlucky accident and Bucky clearly misses his best friend.
I like the setup of the funeral pyre, now 3 hunter bodies being burned, Jody, Lorraine and Mary are standing in front of the pyre. Alicia and Max are resting against their car and Dean and Sam are doing the same against baby.
Lorraine tells Mary she was wrong, “Asa did have a family. He even had kids. I’ve got grandchildren. Suppose I should go meet them.” She walks over to hug Alicia and Max.
Jody and Mary are left at the pyre,
Jody: I don’t know what’s going on between you and your boys, but I gotta tell you, mom to mom, they are good men. Best I’ve ever met. Mary: I know. They’re not the problem.
Jody walks away and leaves Mary on her own, which is Dean’s opportunity, he taps Sam and they both go over to Mary. They ask if she’s okay but Billy appears and says, “She’s really not.” Mary asks who she is and Dean says she’s a reaper that got him back inside.
I would like to have much preferred to have seen Sam’s reaction as well as Mary’s but we don’t get this and it’s a bad choice of angle for me. Billie says Dean owes her one and looks at Mary, “This one. This one right here.”
Billie is still on her “what’s dead should stay dead” kick. She’s a stickler for the laws on that (and never really changes tbh, I don’t really get Billie’s overall arc.)
Mary says she didn’t ask to come back, Billie agrees but says the dead man’s look in Mary’s eyes says she hates it, that she feels she doesn’t fit, like she’s all alone.
Dean: Well, she’s not alone.
Billie (still looking at Mary): Tell me I’m wrong. [Sam and Dean turn to look at Mary and kudos to Jared once again for saying so much with no words as to how he looks at Mary here]
Billy says she’s not here to hurt Mary, “I’m here to offer you mercy. A one-way ticket upstairs, away from all of this.”  [Again poor choice of camera for this scene as we see Dean but not Sam].  Mary asks how it would work.
Sam: Mom. [My poor boys!] Mary: You just kill me again? Billie: Reapers don’t kill people. Rules. Mary: Well… then… [she looks up at Sam and Dean] Me: Don’t you dare break my boys fragile hearts! Mary: Then I guess you’re just gonna have to wait. Billie: Winchesters… Me: Same tbh Billie Billie: …if you change your mind– if any of you change your minds– you know my name. [she disappears]
Sam asks if this means Mary is coming home. Mary says yeah, but follows up with: Not quite yet. I just need a little more time.
Sam looks disappointed ☹ but he understands
Dean: Can we buy you breakfast at least? Mary: Bacon? Dean: All the bacon. Mary: I would love that.
I love that Dean and Mary can find a common bond through food. Sam hugs Mary as they walk together towards the Impala
Despite a couple of wobbly bits sprinkled here and there and my poor Dumbchester Sammeh, I still really love this episode overall, the good far outweighs the issues I have and I’ll happily re-watch it as a stand-alone MOTW.  I loved the introduction of the witch twins and wish we’d got to see a lot more of them *coughs* and a lot less of other “fan favourite” characters.
It will be interesting where this one will ultimately fall in my definitive list.
the master plotting post is below the cut. it’s kinda long so good luck fam. it’s really more about where my character are and how they’re doing but i am hoping that will help us both brainstorm some ideas together. i have put trigger warnings next to each individual blurb so that way if you’re worried about anything you can read the rest while skipping any that are potentially triggering. this is just where characters are starting a few of them i may still update, especially for characters who fears i haven’t completely worked out. toss this a like if you’d be interested in plotting and i will come to you! i will get another call out specifically for starters closer to the event
level 1: windstorm
asami sato / the legend of korra / unaware
girl is not really phased by the windstorm and will be pushing through and probably wind up leveling up. she’ll also be offering to help where she can so like if any characters need help to level up or just get by she will be around we can def do something. she’ll probably be getting pieces of her memories back in the storm but nothing concrete. probably one of my characters who realistically has a chance of making it to the safe zone. definitely open to teaming up
leveling up: probably
plots: anyone else trying to level up she can work with, someone to help out
blue sargent / the raven cycle / aware
not entirely sure what my plan for her is tbh. she’s seen like all the wild shit washington has thrown and honestly might try to find somewhere to bunker down and wait it out or maybe level up but either way she’ll be a fun mixed of chill yet pissed while on this level. not freaking out but annoyed after all of the things that happened her. a potential reluctant teammate
leveling up: a reluctant maybe
plots: someone she winds up working with for a bit even though teamwork and being nice is not her strong suit
lily evans / harry potter / aware
let’s be real after everything she’s been through in washington the windstorm does not feel like a big deal and she’s charging through to get through to the next level. she will ultimately wind up losing all of her memories as a result
leveling up: no
plots: teammates, people she knows who can find her after her memory loss, some help after her memory loss, someone she helps, since afterwards she’ll be bunkering down and helping people out
max caulfield / life is strange / aware
my one character? who is terrified for storms? caught in the windstorm? asdlfkjad incredible. anyway max is going to be freaking out and almost definitely stuck here the whole time she is terrified of storms and will be hoping to find a nice corner to crawl in and stay in with her hands over her ears
leveling up: no
plots: someone to help her please she will be screwed on her own,
melody pond/river song / doctor who / awareish
she will absolutely be leveling up. river is a high energy adventurer who is so shit at sitting still there’s no way she’s not moving up. honestly will be pretty unbothered in this level at least. i may give her some flashes of her parents from the windstorm to kind of set her on edge. down to team up though she’s always out for herself first and will ditch partners as needed
leveling up: probably
plots: let her be a chaotic teammate for someone, an injury she reluctantly treats as she tries to get out of there
pansy parkinson / harry potter / aware
honestly she’s mostly just tired and pissed. pansy, though obnoxious, is logical and focused on her own survival first. she’ll probably wind up finding a save space to be and see this thing out. if anyone needs some slightly less chaotic plots she’s probably someone good to hit up. she could be open to being the obnoxious teammate someone has ever had.
leveling up: no
plots: teammates in the sort of self serving way, bunkering down buddies, drinking buddies, a calm party crew
persephone / percy jackson / aware
she’s a goddess she’s vibing and almost definitely leveling up tbh she doesn’t know what’s going on and her main priorities are finding hades and reluctantly nico but will try to offer some help where she can
leveling up: probably
plots: some people she helps out to either safety or level up,
level 2: nightmares come to life
ben hargreeves / the umbrella academy / aware
his nightmares are p limited ngl since being dead kind of takes away a lot of fears. i mean his main one was passing on and he did that last season so, i guess it’ll kinda be his powers. of course he’s mostly afraid of losing control and hurting people, but he’ll probably just be seeing/dealing with vague eldritch creatures. could maybe deal with his fear long enough but that’s really the only way he’s potentially leveling up. potentially open to teaming up
leveling up: doubtful
plots: some people he helps, teammates, maybe someone he accidentally hurts cause he does have powers and he may lash out when spooked so could cause an inury,
jang man wol / hotel del luna / aware / level 2: nightmares come to life
her fears are complicated. like ? she mostly fears and hates herself lmao. i suppose she has some fear of the gods in her world but they aren’t really violent and can only hurt her if she hurts a human so she might be seeing them and getting freaked out and jumpy and convinced she’s gonna do something that ultimately gets her destroyed. honestly though, she’s at the second most stable she’s been in a while (a step down since chan sung’s memory loss) so she will be making her way to level 3 at some point.
leveling up: yes
plots: uh, maybe someone she almost lashes out and hurts but manages to last minute hold back, someone she helps/protects to avoid her own problems, though she wouldn’t be nice about it rip
jaskier / the witcher / unaware / level 2: nightmares come to life
this is my emotional support idiot he doesn’t really have any tangible fears not because he’s strong he’s just dumb, will be running straight into things trying to help people out. i would say he should get hurt but this man has survivridiculouslysly well on luck and charisma so far and i don’t think that’s going to change anytime soon. if i think of a fear for him i will update this. will probably find someone who looks strong to leech off of and feel safer around. you just know this idiot is writing a song about the whole experience as it occurs.
leveling up: maybe
plots: someone more powerful than him he follows around for safety
karolina dean / runaways / unaware
aaah um i’m not entirely decided on what her fear is yet at the moment but she’ll be doing her best to deal with it. honestly i don’t think she’ll be leveling up karolina is strong but struggling without her memories in terms of fighting. i might have her see her dad a bit even though she won’t recognize him she’ll feel the fear
leveling up: no
plots: any sort of teammates cause she works well in groups, maybe someone who sees her attempting to use her powers to fight things off
kyoshi / avatar the last airbender / unaware
so kyoshi is not afraid of much. she’s a seven foot tall beast of a woman/nerd so of course she isn’t, but, i’m saying she’s afraid of clowns, because kyoshi is gonna panic and wind up bending in defense. of course she has no memories so she’s gonna spend the rest of the event like ‘hey what the fuck was that????’ honestly she may be able to level up but she’ll probably be focusing on helping people in level 2 as best she can
leveling up: no
plots: a teammate would be fine though she’ll probably only want one, she’ll have just discovered her bending so someone can be around for her to yell about that, any people she attempts to protect/get to safety
lavender brown / harry potter / aware
werewolves! she’s scared of them! because of course she is! and she’s absolutely flipping out! she’s probably stuck here ngl i do not think lavender is conquering this anytime soon. she’d fight a little bit but i imagine she’s mostly going to wind up hiding out. could probably use some help or support ngl. i debated saying she could get injured but i feel like this is already going to be rough enough on her ngl
leveling up: no
plots: anyone to help her out she could use it, i would offer her as a teammate but she’s going to be pretty freaked out so idk how much she can do, but maybe someone she likes hides out with and just tries to survive with
michiru kaioh / sailor moon / aware
death tw welcome to lesbian suffering. her biggest fear is going to end up in her seeing haruka’s dead body and uh, she’s definitely not recovering from this one she will be staying on this level the whole time probably losing her mind a little bit and not knowing what happened and blaming herself and it’s all going to be rough.
leveling up: no
plots: she may attempt to team up with a person or two but her mood is going to be awful and she won’t be a great teammate, honestly anyone around to try and keep her slightly grounded
sam giddings / until dawn / aware
hello happy children it’s wendigo time! exactly what it sounds like. she’s not leveling up. this is a monster that eats people and can only be killed with fire. sam is running. going to be terrified but not freaking out at least not externally. might go for a minor injury with her. down to team up with anyone
leveling up: no
plots: lmao survival buddies, despite everything she will try to be helping people out so there could be something for that
toph beifong / avatar the last airbender / aware
so toph’s fears will probably include not having any earth around or below her. honestly this fear is less about her seismic sense and not being able to tell where things are around her. her other senses are still good even if it’s really not ideal and that will be partially upsetting, it’s more about feeling like she lost her earthbending. she’s also terrified of heights after dangling off of the warship in the finale so i might do something with that. i doubt she’s leveling up. down to reluctantly team up.
leveling up: no
plots: would be willing to team up but she’s feeling a little useless and stressed so how great she’d be as a partner would be mixed, she could cause an injury if anyone wants since she can’t sense any earth but i’m assuming there’s still going to be things she can bend around, so maybe some sort of an accident with that, honestly let her make a friend she’s not against help from friends will hold onto their arm most of the time
level 3: poisoned supernaturals
ciel phantomhive / black butler / aware
gun tw: this boy has already had bad experiences with supernaturals so he’s not in a good mood about any of this. he’s got a gun and his concerns are himself and lizzie and that is about it. he knows physical strength is not his strong suit and has no intention of trying to fight his way out. may try and play the small defenseless boy card if he needs to in order to get some help and protection from actual nice humans on the level. not available to team up. available to trip another character while they’re both fleeing from the same thing.
leveling up: no
plots: someone who he injures, someone who injures him, a human he partners up with and could betray cause he’s a selfish little shit if that’s something someone’s interested in, or some human who’s physically strong who he pays to be around him as some sort of safety
dominique weasley / harry potter / aware
not a huge chance she’s doing anything but staying here and going ape shit. does not really have the willpower to manage to fight off the poison. is solidly in the middle between barely dangerous to destructive beast.
leveling up: no
plots: a feral crew, someone she hurts, someone who tries to snap her out of it, anything
elsa of arendelle / frozen / aware
ice queen time babey! will be pretty destructive and very dangerous. open to her killing someone’s character if anyone wants since i’d love her to be upset about that after the fact. she already thinks she’s a danger let’s prove it!! she might wind up fighting off the poison but idk it would take a hot minute since she’s had a lot of stress and frustration lately and it’ll be coming out!! she’s ready to do some damage
leveling up: maybe
plots: someone she hurts and can feel real guilty about, someone who tries to snap her out of it
entrapta / she-ra / unaware
not nearly as concerned about danger as she should be. probably out here purposely trying to approach supernaturals to get a blood sample i hate her. not looking for her to die but could be open to a semi-serious injury. might level up ngl if she finds decent tech she will be able to defend herself. open to team ups but she’s not a great team partner
leveling up: maybe
plots: teammates. maybe someone who teams up with her to use her more than anything since she can build attack bots with really any scraps she can find so she’s good for people looking for defense and will not be able to tell she’s being used
glinda upland / wicked / aware
me realizing just this second glinda probably counts as a supernatural cause she’s got magic:  👁👄👁 so yeah uh this one is difficult i think she’ll be working to fight it off. even with poison she would not be good at being violent fam.
leveling up: maybe
plots: uuuh poisoned people trying to push her to the dark side, someone trying to help her fight it off, maybe a human she fights but doesn’t hurt, or if so it’s something minor, anything
haruhi fujioka / ouran high school host club / aware
does not know what’s going on and isn’t sure they want to. tbh slightly similar to entrapta in the sense that they can manage self defense alright. they’re going to pepper spray a supernatural so fucking hard i swear to god. they aren’t like a super amazing fighter and sometimes they’re too reckless and stubborn for their own good, but haruhi is smart, and will probably mostly be hiding. they could be available for trying to help out other humans on the level
leveling up: maybe
plots: single teammate or group of humans getting by, a not too strong supernatural for her to fight cause i don’t want her getting too hurt, but could be up for a small injury, anyone she helps
ji eun tak / goblin / aware
lmao so technically eun tak has powers but they aren’t fighting powers she can just see ghosts but technically this still counts as powers so she’s affected. this doesn’t make her any stronger though she’s just angry but like not a threat. here is a picture of eun tak as provided by kasey (x). like the worst shes gonna manage is to mug someone and honestly, that is probably her goal. my girl has lived her whole life poor and she’s ready to make some bank
leveling up: no
plots: lmao please give her a strong supernatural that she’s hanging around so we’ve got destructive power plus baby with knife, someone she tries to, or successfully mugs, if you need a weak supernautral to fight to level your character out of level 3 she’s a good pick, anything
rita skeeter / harry potter / aware
rita will probably go crazy stupid for a day and then start fighting it off. tbh she doesn’t care too much about if she’s hurting people. it’s not something she likes to do but it doesn’t freak her out a ton either, but she doesn’t like being out of control, and that sheer stubbornness might be enough for her to break through and level up. down for her potentially hurting or killing someone’s character if desired. will still be taking tik toks through it all the poison is not enough to stop that. she can hunt and film at the same time
leveling up: maybe
plots: feral crew, any other supernaturals working to fight it off at some point, i’m not saying let her film ur supernatural hurting an npc but like do it, anything
tessa gray / the infernal devices / awareish
so technically she’s part shadowhunter part demon but homegirl does not know it so it’s going to be a fucking interesting time for her. honestly destructive power is mixed cause she’s certainly got some but the lack of awareness will make it weaker. will probably use this as an excuse to trigger a few more of her memories. open to her injuring someone.
leveling up: probably not
plots: uh, someone she can freak out to in the first 24 hours before the poison hits because she doesn’t even know she’s supernatural, someone she gives a minor injury to maybe, someone trying to snap her out of it, anything
Evan’s first time meeting the First Three.
(here’s the story I was working on for the last few days, hope you enjoy it)
Cricket sounds were common around the area the killers would be forced to stay when the trials would be done for the day. Some of the more simple styles would call it another backbreaking nine to five for the working class. Evan was born into money but learned how to be a worker quickly. He was raised to know the ins and outs of the business he would take over. Sadly, he even learned the harsh reality of running a business could do to a man. Evan put these thoughts to bed as he adds more wood to the campfire he created. He places the pot on the hanging metal rod and after some time to let the pot heat up does he tosses in the meat the Entity gives him as food. He is not sure what it is but all he does know is the Entity supplies it and forces him to eat it anytime he refuses. Probably to turn him into a full fledged carnivore. Evan suspects it to be cow or pig but it’s never a full animal, just the meat. The sizzle of the meat was loud and was not overshadowed by the crackling of the fire and the crickets that Evan never saw but would always hear. This place never got much brighter as a dense fog would surround the place. Evan spent time on learning the details of this place. He built a boat from the local trees to see if he could paddle away from the camp. He would never make it far until the fog became so dense it turned solid. To his surprise the tree he had cut down always came back so there was never to fear any shortage of wood. The Entity told him when more killers come and more lost souls are drained of their essence would this place be upgraded to something more comfortable. Had Evan grown to dislike this place he could always go back to his realm... but the memories of that place still haunt his dreams to this day.
Within the fog Evan could hear distant footsteps, walking every so closer. “Guess it’s time for some fresh meat” Evan muttered to himself. Soon appearing from the fog came a tall man in a short cloak, Evan was surprised to see someone taller than him as he was the tallest he knew. Following the tall skinny man was another man but twisted and deformed. “Hmm birth defects..” Evan muttered once again “He looks confused as if he’s like a kid lost in the woods”. Evan noticed the hammer and chainsaw in both his hands. Dripping with fresh prints of blood. Lastly he saw a floating.. nurse?. Evan was unsure as her face was covered unlike the other two. Her soft wheezing was now audible and her clothing confirmed Evan suspicion of her being a nurse. One after another they all approached the large man by the fire. Each gripping their weapons in their hands, just in case. “.... You lot wanna keep staring at me or you want to get warm by the fire?”. His voice was gruff and almost at a rumble that his usual voice. They showed no signs of returning a response but did as he says and each picked a spot by the fire. The Tall man sits criss crossed on the dirt instead of the log right behind him. Evan found him oddly quiet, not just in voice but in his actions as if he’s always trying to remain hidden. The man with the twisted face falls back heavily into the log and lets out a low grumble that Evan took for a sigh of relief to be off his feet. The twisted man then instantly begins to look at his chainsaw and pick at it. Evan can tell a tinkerer when he sees one. The nurse floats down onto the wood log and soon her head breathing was subsiding. Evan guessed her power must take a lot out of her and when she’s not floating she’s able to breathe properly... or at least as much as she could through a pillow case.
“So.. I guess you all are the next three to be added to these trials. Let me be the first to tell you all that this will be a baptism by fire. You all will learn as things go but I’d imagine you all know full well what is your ultimate goal each trial”. Evan spoke as if he was a foreman getting his worker prepped for the shift. Evan looked around at each one of them but it seems none of them want to speak. Evan sighs a little and begins to stir the meat around the pot before saying “So what are your names... both names. We’re gonna be here for a while so we’re going to have to get used to one another, might as well start now”. Evan looked around to see who would speak first. To his surprise the Tall skinny man was the first to speak. “Philip.. but my killer name is the Wraith”. Evan returned another question to him. Getting someone to keep talking would push the other two to follow suit “Ok Philip, what did you do before getting here?”. Philip went silent for a second before speaking “I.. worked at an auto shop.. but I threw my boss into the crusher and pulled out his spine and skull... it’s now made into this weapon”. Evan sat there for a second “ Well I guess he wasn’t the good type of person”. Evan hates how he sounds, but if he sounded mean, it would make the three distant from him. Having been trapped here all alone for so long, he wanted friends... he needed friends.
“What about you kid? What are you doing here?. Evan jesters to Maxwell to say his names and what brought him here, though the bloody chainsaw was a pretty good hint. “Max... Thompson Jr.. but I guess.. People like to call me The HillBilly. I don’t know why I’m here... but.. If it lets me kill others.. I guess this place is alright.” Evan can hear from how Max speaks that he was never properly trained on how to speak and was probably not involved in school much. Evan just gets this feeling from Max that his life was probably worse than the rests due to something he has no control over.
Evans' gaze turns toward the smaller nurse who was silently floating above the wood log under her. “And you are-“. “Sally Mr. MacMillan, my name is Sally but I also go by The Nurse. My powers involve “blinking” or a form of teleportation in which causes me to catch up to survivors but does tire me out heavily. Should that answer all your questions?”. Sally seemed all too ready to cut Evan off and say what they were expecting her to say but not just all at once. “You already know my name?” Evan seemed more impressed she went ahead to learn about him before he knew about her. “Yes, as I will be the nurse of you three I thought it would be best for me to learn all I could as to who I will be taking care of”. Evan seemed to pick at what she says that she is simply untrusting of the three and wanted to know who she would be dealing with rather than thinking of a better way to treat them. “You didn’t say what your past was Sally''. “I killed people, that is what we are all here for right? To mane and murder these “survivors' ' to please a twisted god?”. The group fell silent at the mention of their new boss. A being that feeds off of the suffering of others until there is nothing left of them.
With the group introductions done, Evan returns to stirring the pot of meat and begins to add in other ingredients such as water, carrots, potatoes, some salt and pepper and a little bit of garlic. These things appeared whenever it was time for Evan to eat and it confused him why a god would need to keep giving food to them as they had no need for it while in the realms. This train of thought was interrupted by the sudden feeling of someone touching Evans' arm. Without even looking first Evan reels his arm back to his side, only to see Sally sitting there looking at him like he ruined what she was doing. “I’m looking at your arm, these metal pieces are a hazard to your health and I would recommend you get them removed”. “They haven’t done anything since The Boss shoves them into my body. It’s best to leave men alone”. Sally wouldn’t take no for an answer “Evan please these things could very well damage your body and if I’m responsible for your health then I will need to know how these hooks affect your muscles”. Evan continues to refuse “How can I trust you that you aren’t mad and enjoy hurting your patients in for some sick kick”. Sally sits there with what Evan suspected a rather upset look on her face. To Everyone's surprise, Sally reaches for the bottom of the pillow case and pulls it upward and off her head. Her hair was clean and well kept and her face was actually the most beautiful of the group. Evan stood there with a confused and somewhat impressed look. “Evan.. I need you to trust me that I will help you.. take off your mask, look me in the eyes so you can understand what I’m saying is true. Allow us to trust you as well as you to trust us”. Evan looks down toward the ground of the campfire. His mind was racing as he wasn’t sure of what to do. He has never taken his bone mask off since he was made into the killer known as the Trapper. Evan knew he felt better behind this mask as he felt it hid himself from him. His dark deals, his past.. his sins. He wanted his old self to go away but it seems he can’t run away from who he is. With one hand Evan grasps the top of his mask and lifts it off of his head. He felt the somewhat chilly air smother his now exposed face. He looked toward Max and Philip and their reactions were not that of horror or disgust but seemed somewhat happy to see his face. He turned toward Sally and she had a genuine smile come across her face. “It’s nice to finally meet the real you, Evan Macmillan”.
