The full 2nd episode was uploaded to Disney channel USA in English yesterday, making it easy for anyone who wants to watch the episode (in a legal way at least, I sure we’ve already seen it on miraculous.to lol).

In other news, Gloob has confirmed they will be airing an unknown new episode this Friday, Jan 31st at 7:45 pm Brasilia Standard Time (Source). They will also be dropping a trailer on Wednesday, so watch out for that (whether it be to watch it or to avoid spoilers).

Now, I know that we know nothing about which episode it will be just like last week, but I’m going to make a safe bet it’s going to be Sublimation, since Disney Channel USA is airing that the next day. Still, in the updated version of the airdates post ive listed the premiere as ‘unknown’, since you can never be sure!

Now, if the pattern continues I think it’s a safe bet we can expect Gloob to drop new episodes the next two Fridays as well, but let’s see what happens! We know Disney will be dropping them on Saturdays anyway, so we have that much at least.

SHE GOT REJECTED BECAUSE SHE WAS A CHILD AND SHIRO WAS AN ADULT

Listen we know they loved each other and AT ONE POINT yuri grew up and became an adult too but not every relationship works in this clandestine way. That was the whole point! She had rinka or satans children and Shiro stepped in to take care of them when yuri died. Shiro was too late when he realized he loved her back and yuri was too early when she confessed. Did they love each other at the same time? Yes. Was it obvious? Yep! Were they both adults? Yep yep! But yuri was waiting for rinka to return when his body would begin giving out and Shiro was still not ready for his own confession. As Rick said “better confess before someone else comes along” and eventually he was right. Satan returned and declared yuri as his and got her pregnant.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think that was the hidden meaning of yuri and shiros relationship no? Too late meets too early. Too rough meets too kind. What’s clearly there cannot be pursued because of the situation their forced/chose to be in and it ends in tragedy. I mean we have this whole chapter about Shiro deadbeat exhausted and hurt from a monster attack, ready to die and leave the twins to die because yuri was dead now too. He feels he failed, he made all sorts of mistakes and thinks finally he can die for being the worst monster of them all. Then the twins begin crying and he realizes that’s the twins desperately want to live so he should do. He’s gonna make sure these damn babies don’t disappoint their late mother (after of course Mephisto commands him to be their father and makes him the 251st paladin) In a way that’s how he’s making it up to yuri by raising her children without judgement for their origin and teaching them to be strong like her. He knows her good intentions as misguided as they were, he knows the truth despite mephisto covering it up. Did he have regrets? abso-fucking-lutely!

But he had every right to reject her back then, in fact, he very well should have either way! Because at the time, she was a child and he was an adult, period.

i’ve been scratching my head over the whole watcher situation. I’m not a fan myself but got dragged into it cus of the people I follow, i only watched their puppet history series and the buzzfeed unsolved series from way back- honestly, i couldn’t care less if they locked all their stuff behind a paywall. I’m so neutral on this whole thing, i might as well be swiss.

but i’m not neutral? In fact, the whole thing really bothers me and i couldn’t figure out why.

cus i get it, yanno. As a company that thrives on creativity, i understand you’d wanna cut yourself off the mega-capatalist-giant that is youtube to get rid of annoying restrictions, and asking monetary support from your audience so you can really stretch the limit of your creativity. I GET IT.

And it STILL bothers me!

And then I figured it out:

the whole “any future videos they’ll be making will EXCLUSIVELY be available through a streaming service you have to pay a monthly subscription for” comes less across as “please support us monetarily so we can grow as creators”, and comes more across as “if you want to continue being a fan, or even being a part of the audience, you’re gonna have to pay up. You have no choice in the matter. It’s either pay, or you’re not a ‘real’ fan or a ‘real’ part of our audience.”

THAT’S what’s bothering me about it. It feels like they’re gatekeeping who gets to be part of their community with money (that not everyone might have). And knowing where they come from and how they started…. That’s… extremely tone deaf. To put it gently.

Just remembered there is no other Mr Agreste than Gabriel and Adrien since Gabriel changed his legal name… The episode is HAS to be about one of them.

I’m betting Gabriel since that would be an overly formal way of referring to Adrien (I don’t think Adrien would find out abt Hawkmoth mid season though, so maybe more backstory??), unless it’s about him being the heir of his fashion empire and whatever his mom’s side of the family has left him? They’re royalty so there has to be some kind of heritage??

The more I think about the GO movie, the more I’m excited for it. Am I disappointed that so much screen time is being cut? Yes. But am I also excited for the possibility of a steadily moving plot that doesn’t have a bunch of jarring interruptions that are just there to fill the time? Yes! The plot that season 2 set up suits a movie format, because it demands that all of the focus be devoted to it instead of a bunch of side plots.
