Anyone who has followed me for years knows that I love Eurovision. It is a ridiculous spectacle that takes itself far more seriously than it should, and I love that shit. I have previously live-tweeted or live-blogged it just about every year.

I will not be watching this year unless they ban Israel. Russia was (rightfully) banned for invading Ukraine. Letting Israel participate while they are perpetrating a genocide is both abominable and hypocritical.

in an ideal world there shouldn’t be a target, let alone a place, for gun violence. however, this is not an ideal world. still even someone as tr*mp shouldn't be a target, despite the fact he sowed the seeds of chaos and carnage for many years.

what struck me most after the attempt is how both candidates said this kind of violence has no place in their country. perhaps they should recheck the map, because the american statistics for gun violence are nothing to be proud of. due to their lack of strict gun control, they have created a country where bullets can be put on one’s grocery list to be brought home and a generation of teenagers and young adults who have nightmares about school shooters. didn’t the supreme court recently rule in favour of an additional magazine, making some guns even more lethal? your country, president elects, is far from an ideal world. so, if this shocked you, you should probably do something about it. realize what your military industrial complex has done to your country and the rest of the world, how it has influenced and still influences the lives of millions and understand your words sound hollow to me.

I've seen quite a few bad thg opinions the past couple days so here's a reminder that these things are canon:

Katniss is suicidal until Peeta comes home. He gives her the hope she needs to heal and move forward. They eventually enter a romantic relationship because she desires and loves him.

Katniss's only reason for not wanting kids was her deep-seated fear that they'd be reaped. Becoming a mother shows how much she's recovered from her trauma. Her children make her feel joy.

Katniss is happy in 12. She would've ended up there anyway. (“A few hundred others return because, whatever has happened, this is our home.”)

So anyone who thinks her ending isn't good or what she wanted probably doesn't actually like Katniss and definitely doesn't understand her character as she's written. Thankfully her creator does know her and gave her the peaceful ending she deserves.
