You Know Other Men Meme HC
Summary: when he gets randomly jealous while cuddling on the sofa and you tell him heās the most jealous man you know feat. Dick, Jason, Tim, Duke, and Damian
Dick
āYou know other men?ā
Heās offended. Shocked. Insulted. Disappointed.Ā
Like who are the other men??? There were other men???
Snaps his head up and looks at you with either eyes that can probably beat Batmanās when heās angry or the saddest, puppies eyes youāll ever see on the planet though the grip on your waist says otherwise
Starts questioning you who these āother menā are and goes from wanting their information including address to phone number to since when you started knowing them or where you met them
But when you tell him āI know only one man and itās youā, heāll quickly melt - getting all dopey with a silly smile on his face as he peppers kisses all over you
Cuddles into you more though asking for you to look at something else. If not, heās going have to use a different method to get you to listen ; )
Jason
āYeah and you better remember it.ā
Itās not confidence in himself that makes him say it - rather, itās knowing that you chose him and would always choose him over anyone else
Like, what is there to compete? All the other guys (cough Bruce and Dick cough) are already sucking it since heās winning with having you, the best thing in his life
Plus, since you made him yours, youāre stuck with him for eternity whether you like it or notĀ
Does playfully pull you into a suffocating bear hug, enjoying the warmth of your body seeping into his
Chuckles if you play along and tap his biceps, shoulder, or chest, spouting āuncleā, āI loseā, or something thatāll show you surrender
Gives you a kiss on the lips or cheeks before going back to critic and rate whatever you were looking at earlier
Tim
āYou do realize Iām the only man you know?ā
Rolls his eyes and pretends your comment isnāt bothering him - after all, knowing you inside and out, there are no āother menā other than him
Heās awful at hiding it though when he starts to nuzzle into the junction where you neck meets your shoulder to hide his disgruntlement
Shuffles and pulls you closer to him, trying to āimprintā himself on you. Whether itās conscious or subconscious that is yet to be decided
Play with his hair and tell him āyes and youāre the only man I also loveā will earn a warm grin from him
That or him hiding his face into your shoulder with the tip of his ears burning red as his Red Robin suit
Either way the arms around you wonāt loosen up for a while, going back to cuddling in his embrace. This time with him not minding what youāre looking at making a comment here and there, mostly jabbing at your taste
Duke
āI thought I was your man?ā
Heās so confused by what you just said
What do you mean āmost jealous man I knowā - you know other men??? Is he not your only man???
Literally will start overthinking and confront you on whether you actually have starting seeing people behind his back
Has his head-up with an āexcuse me?ā written all over, needing to confirm you arenāt hiding anything based on your expression
Only to feel silly and embarrassed when you give him sass e.g., āare you not the only Iām dating?ā or ādo I look like I have another man besides you?ā. Especially if your eyes are deadpan
Poor guy ends up hiding his face, becoming the smaller spoon. Dies but appreciates if you snuggle closer to him and pat him
Damian
āYou know other men?ā
Does the same thing as Dick but much angrier and more hissing
Itās going to take a while to calm him down especially when heās ready to end things there and then with plans to also take down and ruin those āother menāsā lives
Listen. You are his and only his. How dare you have other men besides him???
When you tell him āyou do realize you are the only person iām dating?ā that gets him to put the katana down
Heāll ask you who these āother menā are and realize they werenāt there from the start. Not when itās his siblings and father
He just grumbles about how you shouldāve said that from start and expect you to go back cuddling with him, head pats and all other expressions of affection to comfort him
Will succumb and completely āforgiveā you if you give kiss on the top of his headĀ

This whole "this isn't who we are" dialogue bothers me. It has bothered me for a while. What happened in this US election is that far too many people in this country loved their own bigotry, fear, hatred, and selfishness more than they care about their loved ones or even themselves, since they don't see how they backed someone who is going to harm them, too. It's not all we are as a nation. But we really need to face head-on this aspect of US society exists and shake it vigorously and figure out what to do to address it. There's a lot of good here, but the bad is also part of "who we are" and denying it won't help. Look at US history. The bigotry always comes back. For every gain, there's a backlash trying to drag things backwards.
The US is very divided. A huge number of people in the US stand against that bigotry, fear, hatred, and selfishness and are pissed af right now. And it's not only people from blue states who care. Red states aren't solid fields of red, btw, if you look at any detailed electoral map, every state, red or blue, is a patchwork, and there are so many people who live in red states who care, and stood up for what's right, and they don't even have the sanctuary state buffers those of us in blue states have (for however long it can hold the line).

im so sorry to be a mythal lover like my icon and url suggest but i genuinely think her relationship with solas in this game was one of its best writing moments and specifically their confrontation is the highlight of this game for me and i have to talk about it.
it is so fucked up and tragic and raw. it shows us a side of him we have never seen before. she is so brutal but also somehow kind. she is probably the most complex and nuanced character in the entire dragon age universe. what she did to him was inexcusable and she takes full accountability for it but she also does not apologize. its SO INTERESTING!!! ITS SO INTERESTING!!!!
WHEN HAVE WE EVER SEEN HIM LOOK LIKE THIS>??? HIS FACE??? HIS BODY LANGUAGE????? HE LOOKS TERRIFIED AND WRETCHED. WE HAVE NEVER SEEN HIM LOOK LIKE THIS EVER.
HE WHISPERS HER NAME, AVERTS HIS GAZE. HE CANT EVEN LOOK HER IN THE EYE. HIS NAME IS PRIDE??? HE IS THE DREAD WOLF AND HE IS THE MANIFESTATION OF PRIDE AND LOOK AT HOW HE LITERALLY CRUMBLES IN HER PRESENCE???? HOLY SHIT. THIS IS SO UNLIKE HIM
i love that she does not apologize. it would have been out of character. she isnt sorry and she never was, but she at least takes accountability for what she did to him and the effect it had. she does not offer meaningless platitudes of sorrow. why would she??? she just plainly states the truth.
I RELEASE YOU FROM MY SERVICE. I RELEASE YOU FROM MY SERVICE. HE STILL CANT LOOK HER IN THE EYE. HE IS SOOOO SUBMISSIVE HERE WHAT THE FUCK. honestly i need to make a comparison between their body language here and his body language with lavellan in trespasser but that'll have to be for another time. but i am so obsessed with this line being what she says of all the things she could have said. again no apologies. just catharsis. and she talks to him like a loyal dog, someone under her command, a subordinate, not a lover. did she always see him that way? where did those lines blur? this would have been a good moment for an "ar sala mala revas" but this line is so brilliant on its own i cant complain.
AND THEN YOU HAVE THIS NEXT. THE WAY THEY ARE THE INVERSE. mythal stands over him and looks down upon him, while lavellan literally GETS ON HER KNEES TO SEE HIS FACE. TO LOOK HIM IN THE EYE. BRO THIS IS SO SICKENING. once again it mimics the way they kneel in trespasser, the way they kneel when he removes her vallaslin. and even though he's not kneeling he is bent over in agony and she is quite literally meeting him where he is at ohhhh myg od
and then when it is finally his time to address her directly he looks her right in the eye, his face is calm and not wretched like before when he looked upon mythal, im literally so sick over this look like how long has it been since they stood face to face like this, 8 years????? i havent even gotten into the way his face is bloodied and bruised like this is so vulnerable im literally dying i dont even remember what my point was with writing this i just needed to scream about it. i think mythal's presence here gives so much context to solavellan's dynamic. seeing how he is with mythal versus with lavellan back to back, how mythal speaks down to him while lavellan literally looks up to him. also something something about how lavellan offers him forgiveness while mythal offers him freedom. maybe i can make these thoughts more coherent in like a week from now but right now im running on 3 hours of sleep and pure dopamine. this scene is so fucking crazy i love it.

can i request for svt x grovelling??? I REALLY WANNA SEE HOW THE MEMBERS WOULD BEG FOR ANOTHER CHANCE TO THEIR S/O š
Hi anon! sorry it take me so long, I've been really busy with work but here it is.
How svt apologizes after breaking up š (ot13)
Yuin's note: this is purely fiction and my p.o.v. Being honest, as a spanish native speaker I never heard of the word "grovelling" before and I thought I didn't handle the concept properly š but I tried. Any advice is really appreciated.
Scoups, Mingyu, Dino. Heās almost whining for it.
Youāve lost the count of the notifications that came to the phone, and blocking him just doesn't feel right at all (at this point it seems like a good option tho lol). After reading some pity messages you decided to call him and... Oh boy. You didn't need to look him in the eyes to realize he was about to cry, he insists a thousand times that everything has been his fault and that he will do whatever is necessary to make things up.
Jeonghan, Joshua, Minghao. Tries to keep it cool but is not.
After some days with zero contact, you received an unexpected call and heās inviting you go for a walk; itās a bit awkward because it feels too quiet but you accept anyways. There is definitely something fishy going on. He seemed very stoic and, respectfully, he apologizes if something he did or said offended you, asking for a peace agreement. But you know him very well and you don't give in, until he's flustered enough to open up about his feelings and begs for another chance with you.
Jun, Dokyeom. Wants to say a lot but his head is a mess.
His mind has simply left this astral plane because, the moment you accidentally ran into him during an outing, he completely froze. He tries to be friendly and makes an effort to address you but his voice is so, so shaky he canāt even say a coherent sentence, making this situation even more uncomfortable. When you decided to leave as quick as possible, It was like the ideas in his head finally connect and asks for your forgiveness in the most desperate way possible, then he breaths and starts speaking out while his face blushes with embarrassment.
Seungkwan, Hoshi. Wants to say a lot and says a lot.
The phone has rung several times during the day and after countless missed calls, you decide to answer just bc youāre tired of this situation. However, as soon as you answer, there's no time to say hello properly when he starts talking as if this were a rehearsed speech. He had never said so many things to you in this lifetime. āIām sorry for the time I didnāt close the toothpasteā āIām sorry for making a midnight snack and leaving the kitchen a messā āIām sorry for the time Iā¦ā And so on for a long time.
Wonwoo, Woozi, Vernon. Straight to the point.
Too straightforward for his own being lmao. He just comes to your apartment with an nice gift and apologized in the most direct way possible, willing to listen to you, no matter how long it will take. Literally left everything behind just to see you :(

It depends on what liberalism means exactly. I donāt know how old you are or whether youāre in the US, but Iām in my 40s and USian, and for most of my life āliberalā was how you said leftist in any sense, which is part of why o ask what people mean by it. Popular T shirt during the W years was DAMN right Iām a LIBERAL.
(āIām a liberalā might have meant āIām not a communist.ā I canāt tell from your replies here whether you are one, but if you are and are disliking that Iām not, thatās a bit less baffling but weāre probably at an impasse. I know people whose close family members were slaughtered by Mao, so āwe can try this again and itāll workā wouldnāt likely sway me without a lot of clear argument for how we keep it from degenerating into that.)
So yeah that word doesnāt have negative connotations for me. Iām pretty sure the word people use now for what we meant then is āprogressive,ā but I could not quite be one of those depending on where the cutoff is which is why I keepā¦ askingā¦ where the cutoff is?
Thereās also āliberalismā in a different sense which refers I *think* to Enlightenment thought in general. Itās been many long years since i studied enlightenment thinkers, and back when I did I was an older teenager and hadnāt done much questioning of a lot of things. But the primary thing that struck me when I read people like Kant, Locke, etc. was that they had a vision of everyone being fundamentally equal in worth, and things like race or religion as incidental, kind of like the cherries on a sundae.
This is both good and bad, or at least thatās where I eventually landed with all that.
The good part is that sometimes aggregating everyone helps get rid of bias in the way things are run. Think about women gaining the vote, or poll taxes being struck down so black people could vote. Weāre all fundamentally the same. We all fundamentally should get the same say.
(Donald Trump in the US is currently threatening this. Many if not most people consider that a five alarm fire. If he gets to dismantle or corrode this, people will suffer greatly. A lot of people, in my not so humble opinion, will die.)
The bad part is that sometimes thereās a broad history of discrimination and repression. When thatās the case, sometimes recalibrating the measurements to zero everything out doesnāt do enough. Societal histories reverberate, and undoing the damage is hard, long term, and careful work.
Acknowledgement of this is often the difference between āliberalsā in the sense of āprogressivesā and āconservatives,ā who tend to think traditions are important and worth preserving even if they create inequalities (and, as they get more openly fascist, may value these traditions precisely BECAUSE they create inequalities.)
So if the question is ādo I think that lasting inequality needs to be addressed in social policy,ā yes? But Iād think most left leaning people believe that?
Most feminists Iāve met do too I think. I guess we could say there are a few people out there who are a blend of conservatism (or libertarianism?) and feminism, like Wendy McElroy, but Iād be inclined to just say libertarians at that point.
So once again: which definition of liberalism are we using here? *Who* are we insulting?
But yeah if youāre asking in the US politics sense Iād call myself progressive, though the old term was āliberalā and that feels less weird.
Mostly in agreement with Bernie and AOC?
ā¦So now Iāve made a long effortpost explaining my politics in detail. Are you willing to do the same, or are you just going to keep insulting me while not opening your own beliefs to scrutiny as well?

you know, i wasn't going to make a post about this so as not to give this anon the satisfaction of a response, but they've been blocked so they won't see this anyway and i think there's a bigger issue to address here.
i want to start by saying that i've got thick skin and this doesn't affect me in the way they clearly would like it to. it says much more about them than it does about me and i've got bigger fish to fry than some insecure anon.
what i DO want to address is the fact that i've seen more and more posts popping up lately about how some people need to be nicer to authors and while this applies not just to authors but to everyone, i do feel it's worth mentioning that in all honesty i'm glad this came to me and not someone who may be put down by a message like this. i know the anon button tends to make some people much more bold but if at any point you ever think of sending anon hate to someone, maybe take a moment to consider how foolish of a notion that is.
on the topic of authors in particular, please bear in mind that we do this for free, in our spare time. i work a full time job, this is just a fun hobby for me. imagine if you shared your hobby with the world and someone anonymously told you it was bad, how would that make you feel? i'm quite fortunate that this sort of thing doesn't get to me but that doesn't make it any nicer of a message.
on a much lighter and somewhat unrelated note, i also received a very nice text from a wrong number around the same time as i read this message, so i think they cancel one another out lmao. just thought that was funny.
anyway, sorry for the much more serious post than my usual content, but please, as a reminder, be nice to authors, and for that matter be nice to everyone. you never know what someone else is going through, and even if you do, it's no excuse to be hateful or rude.

Now what?
Whenever I see Trump my brain thinks of my mom and I feel angry about how she died. I have PTSD and I'm actually in the process of seeking out a therapist to address it.
And until I can get some help, I guess I'm just going to feel that anger for a while. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to see or think of him again.
This is pretty bad. And it is really scary. And I hate that one man is capable of causing so much fear and anxiety among the people I care about.
I guess there is one thought I am trying to hold onto.
I recently talked about chronic illness and the "new normal." As illness progresses you sometimes have to accept a new normal and learn to adjust and adapt to it. And every time I was faced with a new normal I was convinced I could not adjust or adapt. But every time I figured it out and found a way to keep going.
I think we will adapt because we have to. We will fight because we have to. But we will need each other to get through this.
Look to your allies. Your friends and your trusted family. Keep those relationships healthy. Do the work to maintain them. Prioritize building and sustaining a personal support system over everything else. Do your part when they need help. Keep in regular contact. Keep the emotional labor as reciprocal and balanced as possible. And don't be afraid to tell them when you feel overburdened. Keep communication healthy so you both feel comfortable expressing hard truths. Open up to them so they feel trusted and make sure they feel comfortable doing the same with you. Try not to lean on one single person too much as they might get overwhelmed.
But also remember to enjoy your friendships. They are not there just to be your therapist. (An *actual* therapist is a good idea if it is feasible.) It's important to laugh and waste time together. Shoot the shit and bond over mutual interests. Or introduce them to your interests and teach them why you love what you love. Ask them about their interests and even if you don't completely get it, be happy that something makes your friend happy.
If you feel like you don't have a support system or it is severely diminished like mine, you'll have to do the work to seek out new people. I'm in that process now after losing my parents. And trust me, I know it isn't easy. I am really struggling to connect to new people. It takes a lot of energy and I haven't had a lot of energy to spare. But I know it is what I will need to help me adapt to the new normal. So I'm going to put in the effort and figure it out. I encourage you to do the same.
You will not connect with every new person. That's okay. Remember this is a process and it takes time. And don't beat yourself up if building your support system is slow going. If nothing else, you are learning and growing and developing tools to help you on this journey.
This community has been so kind to me. You all are a part of my support system. And I feel very lucky to have you in my corner. I love you and I care for you. I'm going to try my best to advocate for what you need. Helping others is another way to keep moving forward. A righteous sense of purpose is a powerful tool in the face of a new normal.
Please take care of yourselves as best you can.
Find your people if you haven't already.
Or find *more* people if you don't have enough.
You are in my thoughts.

This Post is by someone that wants to remain anonymous, they DM'd me this and asked me to post
The callout campaign against Kagebros has gone WAY too far. The lengths these people have gone to violate someoneās boundaries and privacy in order to āwarnā people is incredibly excessive and is dealing horrible damage to their mental health and wellbeing. It needs to fucking stop.
The situation has spiraled completely out of control, spurred on by people who would rather side with a proud AI artist than have a civilized, adult discussion about tracing. Said AI artist has a history of attempting to ruin Kagebrosā credibility, spreading disinformation and rumors about them and their nonprofit charity zines, now going as far as to allegedly incite people to nonconsensually take photos of them at their booth at TFcon Baltimore, and block-evading their socials in order to find more posts to pick apart.
As they have stated already, Kagebros never had ANY intention to scam people, which understandably doesnāt change how those affected may feel. That being said, they could have very easily traced over things without altering them in any way at all, like many others within the convention vending sphere have blatantly done without a callout from these same people who care so much about ācalling out tracingā. There tends to be a gray area in the realm of tracing techniques within the art industry (especially professionally), and there is plenty of merit for their actions to be criticized. As theyāve stated, they were under the impression that Official artwork/figures were okay to trace over and alter, which they now know to avoid doing so in the future. Even if the details and credibility of the piece can be scrutinized, they still made a conscious effort to alter the pieces in question to be more original.
Although said effort may not be enough for most, they now KNOW that. End of story. They can't immediately change the pieces they had available for sale, and they should be showing change through their future pieces and actions, which is something thatās up for judgment by anyone. And yet the people starting this have needlessly dragged it on, inciting others to keep spreading the accusations to further audiences, leading to more harassment.
Seafoamsol had admittedly unblocked Kagebros and āofferedā to have a talk with them about the situation, but their own intentions are extremely questionable, as a conversation should have been the first priority, rather than a callout post. They assumed Kagebrosā intentions without giving them a single chance to address it themselves before the callout, and are now going forward with the narrative of them being a scammer.
Again, if they truly were concerned, they could have unblocked them and had a conversation before the callout was made, instead of assuming their intentions were to deceive people.
The situation is very nuanced, meaning there's a lot of points to be acknowledged on both sides in order to come to a conclusion, which could have happened peacefully if adults just had a civil discussion with each other. There is a justifiable talk to be had here, and reasonable changes to be made, but this canāt be accomplished productively if people continue to jump to conclusions and assume intentions. This has done nothingāand WILL do nothingābut hurt people, if this behavior doesnāt stop. mistakes will be made, lessons will be learned. Please look at this situation in its entirety before coming to your own conclusions based on assumptions made by people with evidently questionable motives and a history of causing problems for others and driving them out of the community.Ā
Thank you for reading.

I agree with this criticism, but I think he leaves out some important parts of it.
A huge part of why the working class is fleeing the Democratic party in droves is that leftist discourse has resorted to classism as a way of attacking, bullying, and silencing its political opponents.
You started to see this first in fringe internet discourse in the early 2010's and it increased in frequency and become more mainstream in response to the shift to algorithmic feeds on mainstream sites (FB and Twitter, soon after others following) in 2011.
Basically what happens is that someone says the "wrong thing" and they get mobbed...it could be something harmless like using old terminology to refer to trans people ("FtM", "MtF", "became a woman / became a man", etc.) or it could be something harmful in subtle ways but dependent on context and perhaps not even immediately apparent to the person speaking it (i.e. "I want applicants to be judged on merit or qualifications alone." / "That (black) person is so articulate." / "That woman is so bossy." etc)
And people FLIP SHIT on them.
And here's the thing...this sort of bullying behavior directed at people saying "politically incorrect" things, i.e. what people call "social justice culture" or "wokeism" is little more than a form of classism.
Because who knows how to say all the right things? Educated people. People who are more intelligent and who don't have any learning disabilities. People who have more time on their hands. People with an easier life, people who aren't working 2 jobs or struggling to make ends meet or caring for a child on top of working a full-time job or more or doing full-time job on top of school. People who are more well-connected, whose friends already use the right language and can correct them politely in private before it blowing up into an incident.
Picture you're some poor person from some tiny town in West Virginia. Your parents say racist things, all your friends say racist things, and you might actually be the least racist person you know and then you come online or you come into the big city and you say something that would be seen as outright progressive where you're from, and suddenly everyone is berating you and condemning you and jumping down your throat.
Now picture you're some wealthy person who grew up in a wealthy suburb of a big city. Your family is educated. You know how to say the right things without offending people. Your friends correct you. You might be deeply racist, but you know how to express your viewpoints so subtly, so indirectly that it doesn't push the buttons of the leftist SJW's. You might even openly support movements like BLM, but then you turn around and support deeply-racist policies like the status quo of school funding by municipality, and high-tax-base suburbs with low tax rates and high city services while black people live in low-tax-base, high-tax-rate municipalities.
And then you turn around and look down on that West Virginia guy who said the wrong thing on Twitter or the wrong thing in some work meeting.
This is the classism of the Democratic party. This is why Trump won in a landslide.
I want people talking about it yesterday. I want people talking about it 10 years ago. I was talking about it 10 years ago but almost no one was listening to me. I want to scream at all of you who ignored me, and shake you. You were all wrong and I was right.
Listen to me now.
We can defeat the Trump movement but we ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO start by examining ourselves first. There is no other path. We cannot win by brute-forcing our way out. The Trump movement already has a majority of support among voters and has been growing in strength as we fail to address these issues.
We have to examine our own classism and we have to break it down, and then we have to reach out and apologize to the people who have been wronged by it. We need to unify behind leaders who publicly reject cancel culture and publicly reject classism.
And I don't just mean Bernie here. Bernie's statement is good but it's not good enough. It doesn't verbalize everything that I've said here. I just expressed a whole other level of classism that I think is getting closer to the heart of things. Other people may have even more things to add, that I missed.
But please, start talking about this stuff. We need to build a new consensus around these things and we need to start identifying and rejecting the classism in leftist thought. And then apologizing to, listening to, and bringing back in all the people we have shut out and excluded. Yes, that means even the people who say problematic things here and there. I don't mean to include people who are adamantly shouting egregiously bigoted things. I mean that we need to apologize for the way we have overreacted. I mean that we need to exercise restraint, de-escalate. And when we do see bigotry, we need to refrain from using classism as a way to bully the people voicing it. We need to cleanly separate the bigotry and make pointed criticism of the bigotry without putting down the person voicing it.
As Christians say "hate the sin not the sinner". Seriously, it does work.

MEN AND MINORS DNI
being a sex worker always had its ups and downs, a mix of excitement and danger. you never truly knew who youāre meeting, but thatās not always a bad thing, sometimes they teach you things about yourself you wouldnāt of known otherwise.
youāve learned to read faces, to sense who might become a friend and who might be trouble. itās a skill youāve almost perfected over time, but even so, thereās always a hint of uncertainty.
tonight was no different, waiting for the next call or text from one of your usuals, or your manager coming in saying you have one more job for the night. as you began to relax, your phone vibrates on the table beside you, breaking the late night stillness. you pick it up, raising an eyebrow at the unknown number.
āuh hello?ā you spoke, sitting up from your position on your bed.
āis this y/n?ā it was a womanās voice, not your usually customer but the way her voice soundedā¦ you were intrigued.
āmhm, this is her. whoās calling?ā
āhi, y/n. iām sophia. i got your number from your manager.ā her tone was smooth, almost like honey, and it set off a flutter of curiosity in your stomach.
āokayā¦ and how do you know my manager?ā you asked, playing with your nails.
āwellā¦ sheās a friend of mine. iāve seen you aroundā¦ and darling, you caught my eye.ā she replied, a hint of mischief in her voice. āiām willing to pay more than your usual rates. quite a bit more, actually.ā
you felt a rush of adrenaline. this was not typical at all. āhow much are we talking?ā
āiāll offer you double what you normally make. itās just tonight, and if you impress me, there could be more work in the future.ā
you hesitated. āand what exactly would you need me to do?ā
sophia chuckled softly. ārelax, baby. itās nothing you canāt handle. iāll send you the address to a hotel where you can meet me. ask for āms. lā at the desk when you arrive.ā
āhow do i know you arenāt some psycho murderer?ā you said, sarcasm evident in your voice.
sophiaās laughter was soft, sending a shiver down your spine. āoh, honey, I assure you, iām not a murderer. but i do hope you wonāt speak to me like that when we meet.ā
āand why is that?ā you spoke, a little brattier than youād meant.
ābecause, darling, i have very particular tastes. i appreciate confidence, but there's a fine line between bravado and disrespect. when we meet, i expect you to know your place.ā
you raised an eyebrow at this. youāve been involved in someā¦ interesting explorations of sex, but something about this woman, how sheās speaking to youā¦ you canāt help but squeeze your thighs together.
āy/n, you still there, baby?ā
āuh-uh yes, just uhā¦ā you took a deep breath, hearing sophia breathily chuckle at you. āsend me the address. iāll be there as soon as i can.ā
ā
the hotel was just a short ride away. you stepped inside the lobby, the air just smelled expensive, with the scent of polished wood and faint perfume. as instructed, you approached the desk and asked for āms. l.ā
the receptionist gave you a knowing look and handed you a key with a room number.
āelevator's just over there.ā she said, motioning toward the back of the lobby.
taking a deep breath, you made your way to the elevator. the doors slid shut, and the ride up felt like forever.
as you reached the correct floor and stepped out, you found the room. just outside the door, you hesitated for a moment, heart racing. a quick knock, and you waited.
the door opened slowly, revealing a woman with an air of elegance that caught you off guard. she smiled, and it felt warm and inviting, a sharp contrast to the tension humming in the air.
she had jet black hair, and plump red lips. her eyes had a glint in them you couldnāt quite read. she had a black silk robe on and you let yourself imagine what she did or didnāt have on underneath it.
āy/n, i presume?ā
āuh huhā¦ā you spoke slowly, still staring at the gorgeous woman in front of you. she laughed and turned, walking back inside as you followed her.
the room was dimly lit, the soft glow from the lamps casting shadowy patterns on the carpet.
āwelcome, darling.ā she said, her voice smooth and sultry. you couldn't help but feel slightly intimidated by her presence. āclose the door behind you.ā
you obeyed instinctively, the click of the latch echoing in the silence. she watched you, her gaze fierce but far from judgmental. it was a look that made your skin prickle.
you follow sophia into the dining room, your eyes scanning the ornate ceiling and the frames of the paintings lining the walls. āmake yourself comfortable, baby. would you like a drink?ā you decline with a shake of your head, taking a seat and crossing your legs.
sophia squints her eyes. āuse your words, donāt be rude.ā
you furrow your eyebrows, locking eye contact with her. āiām fine, thanks.ā you reply, leaning back and surveying the room.
āwatch your attitude.ā her face was dead serious, almost scary. you felt small, as if she was a teacher talking down to you.
āwhat attitude?ā sophiaās jaw locks, and she walks over to you, agonizingly slow. you start getting nervous, your palms sweating.
she stands right in front of your chair, gazing down at you, her eyes burning. you try to keep eye contact but you turn your head.
she grabs you roughly by the chin, snapping you back to face her.
āwhat the fuck?ā you exclaim, standing from your chair and taking a step towards her. your attempt to be intimidating was laughed off as sophia wraps her arms around your hips, pushing you aggressively against the dining table.
her grip on you tightened as she spoke. āand watch your mouth too.ā
you scoff. āyou canāt tell me what to do.ā
ādo you have fun being so bratty?ā
ādo you not know how to have fun?ā
sophiaās grip tightened for a moment before she eased back, her fingers tracing a line along your arm as she stepped even closer, her smile as knowing as it was dangerous.
"oh, I know how to have fun, baby." she replied, her voice a seductive purr. her hands travelled down your body, sending goosebumps all around you. they wrapped around your thighs, sitting you on top of the table.
you canāt deny the way she effortlessly lifted you up turned you on.
her face was right in front of yours, your eyes darting between her eyes and lips as you felt her hand slip under your short skirt.
āi want you to remember this moment, okay y/n?ā her breath was hot against your lips, your whole body heating up at her actions and words. she cupped your cheek and smirked. "you look so scared, darling."
you stayed silent, focusing on the way her hands felt on your body, from your face to your neck, squeezing the base, moving lower towards your hips, and finally resting back on your thighs. "sh-should i be?" your untouchable facade was slowly coming undone, and she knew.
she slid her hands toward your knees, spreading them as she got closer. you could feel yourself dripping onto the table, not bothering to even slide panties on before you left the house. her hands were soft against your skin, travelling farther and farther until she reached your folds, toying with them as you whined in her ear.
"no panties huh?" she teased, sliding her middle finger up your slit, making you shudder and let a loud sigh out. "what? you getting bored?"
"n-no just..." you took a breath. "you're teasing.."
sophia's face shifted into a mocking expression, how annoying. "i thought that's what we were doing, baby? you love teasing." her finger dipped slightly into you and you gripped the table.
"fuck..."
"language." her finger pushed deeper, sliding against your walls and making you shiver, letting out the quietest whines only she could hear.
her finger stilled. "how many times have i told you, don't be rude. say please, honey. use your manners." you locked eyes with her once more, having a silent staring contest until she started pulling out and you panicked.
"n-no sorry... more please, sophia."
"good girl." her hand returns, this time with two fingers instead of one. you cried out, your hips arching up to meet her touch.
sophia's fingers plunged deeper into you, her movements deliberate. you could feel the pressure building within you, your breaths coming out in shallow gasps. her other hand reached up to pinch one of your nipples through your blouse, making you arch your back .
"that's it." she murmured, her voice dripping with satisfaction. "you done being a brat?"
you bit your lip, trying to maintain some semblance of control, but her relentless pace and the way she was looking at you, like she owned you, was pushing you closer to the edge. "fuck, fuck, yes." you whispered, your voice barely audible.
she increased the speed of her thrusts, her fingers exploring every inch of you. you could feel yourself getting closer and closer as she stretched you out, your body tensing. you felt sweat coating your back and her palm made contact with your clit, subtly rubbing it each time her fingers re-entered your core. just as you thought you were about to come, she pulled her fingers out.
"what did i tell you about your language?" she scoffed, pulling her hand away from you completely.
"n-no, no, please sophia please!" you grabbed her wrist. "please..." she gave you a disapproving look, before a wicked smile crossed her face.
"open your mouth." you shuddered at the sudden low tone but did as you were told. her hand came into view as she slid her fingers around on your lips, smearing the wetness around your mouth before plunging her fingers inside and making you taste yourself. "now you really have a dirty mouth, darling."

Aqua Hoshigan Status: It's Officially Hoshinover
Chapters Until The Story Ends Without The 143 Kiss Being Addressed Or Acknowledged: 1
damn i guess they really did just kill his ass
I'm gonna be so real with you gamers, I kind of don't have a lot to say about this one either lol. Which I acknowledge sounds completely wild given the Everything that happens in it, but most of my meat and potatoes analysis in these reviews comes from breaking down characterization and we're flying through everything at such breakneck pace that we're barely getting any characterization.
It continues to drive me bugfuck insane that Ai is completely absent from this finale despite the importance of 15 Year Lie. Its imagery is plastered all over but whenever we return to it, we just see Aqua. Not only that, but Gotanda is the one who insists on pushing the movie through for Aqua. 15YL as a story about Ai's true self and her tragedy is now officially taking a backseat to being about Aqua's tragic death and legacy. It was already bad enough that we spent so much time in the Movie Arc not actually focusing on Ai to the extent that, as everyone pointed out, based on what we saw on-page it was basically a Sad Kamiki Movie, but this really is just pissing right in the wound at this point lmao.
The funeral scene also serves as the final nail in the coffin for any Secretly Alive Aqua copes, which is kind of a relief. I still don't like how Aqua's death played out, but I think dragging it out for four chapters then going "sorry you thought i was /srs when i was just /jk" would have been infinitely more insulting. I don't like this ending, but I can respect that Akasaka seems to be sticking to his guns on it, even if we still do have like a whole chapter left for him to whip around and go "I WAS /JK ALL ALONG!!!!" but I don't see it happening.
Anyway, yeah! The funeral! Uh. Is it gonna sound weird if I say I felt kind of likeā¦ grossed out reading this the first time? Like, I really don't know how else to explain the visceral "why the fuck is the author making me read this" reaction I had to it. I think it's just because Kana is so fucking distraught here and the drama is just so hammy and so over the top that it feels kind ofā¦ ech. I dunno. I just really didn't vibe.
It doesn't help that this is part of a much broader pattern in the back half of OnK of Aka getting us right up close into the gory details of a character's complete mental breakdown and suffering and then spend zero time or focus on their recovery. This happened with Ruby all over the Movie Arc and this many times and with this little runway to the end of the series, it just starts to feel exploitative, like a way to cheaply pull at our heartstrings without doing the work to build everyone back up after tearing them down.
also pre-emptively dreading all the fuel this is going to add to the fires of People Who Are Weird And Misogynistic About Kana but she could die saving innocent children from a burning building and people would find reasons to be shitty about her lmao
we really are not seeing ruby's reaction to finding out her brother was dead huh lol
I will say the one thing I didn't Actively Dislike about this chapter was Ruby, though. I was honestly starting to get pretty skeeved out with how many people were gleefully predicting or actively wishing for her immediate suicide purely for ship motivated reasons and I was also worrying that the story was going to pretend that Ruby doesn't like. Have a life and support system outside of Aqua. Yes, she should absolutely be affected by his death but this period of her shutting down only to drag herself back onto her feet that we seem to be getting feels way more in line with pre-Movie Arc flanderization Ruby and I'll take that W where I can get it.
god. I haven't even talked about Kamiki's supposed serial killer cult. I just don't have the strength. Likeā¦ that's self-evidently stupid, right? I don't need to explain to you why that's ridiculous and unbelievable? You don't need me to tell you why it's fucking crazy that we're getting this information about the alleged overarching antagonist of the series not only in the second-to-last chapter of the entire series but after he was already dead, right? We can just move on? Ok good. jesus christ.
FINAL CHAPTER NEXT WEEKā¦

i love kot kot. i've always loved kot kot. and i'm gonna tell you why.
i think it's a beautiful song, i think it's a banger, i think it's a nostalgic sound, and i think it's an incredibly sad song.
musically, i think kot kot sounds like a summer night in finland. the contrast between the melodic, soaring chorus and the darker, harder verses sounds like walking back and forth between the bright light midnight and the dark clubs or bars or restaurants or something. going from the first verse into the chorus again feels like stepping out from a dark venue and it's 2 am but the light outside is the same as it was when you went in hours ago. it's actually super eerie the way time doesn't seem to move at all during the height of summer in finland. it's a sort of a liminal space that can feel either like never ending horror or an addictive state of true living, depening on how you deal with endless light.Ā
this is a summer song to me.
i love love love the free flying chorus.
i love love love the old school sound of the verses.
the chorus is beautiful with it's long soaring vowels and lines. the verses are mega bangers that remind of early 2000's music. the echoes of like old school drum and bass, breakbeat etc. are super nostalgic to me and have sent me down the rabbit hole of music from my childhood multiple times since the song came out. and i personally love the contrasts and different sections in the song. i think they go together well, i don't think they clash.
i think jurek and allu have composed a clever song. and honestly allu deserves more recognition across the board i am sorry i've been slipping in that department.
now. to the sad part.
i always felt like the chorus was sort of... wistful and melancholic. but the album puts all of that in a different context. he's not just mr. lonely. he's fucking terrified of being alone.Ā
"pelottaa, ettei jatkoplƤƤnit ehkƤ osukkaa, kuumottaa tosissaan, osote ois saatava, poket tos jo hoputta siis vastatkaa nyt saatana" meaning "i'm scared that after party plans will fall through, seriously getting jittery about it, i need an address, bouncers are on my case, somebody pick up the phone" like with the context of the full album now, it's really painting a picture of someone who does not want to go home and face being alone with his thoughts.
i remember when the song came out and people had all sorts of headcanons and ideas as to why the second time round the voice on the phone is in english - things like maybe he's making an international call or something. well, the truth is that in finland, that message is always played in three languages: finnish, swedish and english. so why is it in english the second time? honestly in all seriousness i think it's just a little nod to his international fans or something, like i don't think there is a real story reason for it. but if there was.. well, if anything, to me it suggests that he must have stayed on the phone, listening through the whole litany: valitsemaanne numeroon ei juuri nyt saada yhteyttƤ, kontakt med numret ni har valt fƄs ej, the number you have dialed cannot be reached. to get to the english part he has already been told twice in two languages that there is no one there, nobody is picking up, but he's still there.
honestly this song more than anything feels like the true pair of autiomaa, because to me, this song is someone trying to avoid feeling exactly the way autiomaa describes. feeling empty, feeling nothing, feeling alone. he says as much: "tƤƤ klubi on yht tyhjƤ ku sen katsoja" meaning this club is as empty as he who is looking at it. he's empty and finding other people to party and hang out with is the only way out of feeling empty, the only way to distract himself from the fact that he is lost.
and so for skit and autiomaa to come right after this? he has reached a breaking point and realised he has to face the nothingness inside.
and again, like with takavoltti, i think this song represents that long standing finnish tradition of writing funny lyrics about difficult subjects. it's also very very typical in finnish culture to make songs that seem to be about drinking on the surface level but are actually not about that. this song builds a lot of very comedic images: him vibing to celine dion alone in a club and refusing to leave, fighting with bouncers etc. and then of course there is the whole chicken thing with kot kot kot. it's funny - except it's not funny at all.
but the thing is, it's okay to find things funny in the song. they both are and are not funny at the same time, because isn't that what life is. i don't think the intention of these songs is to make you feel one specific way, it's just a matter of perspective. and that can change from day to day. so i think it's okay if one day the song breaks your heart on behalf of the kƤƤrijƤ in the story of the song, and on another day you just want to belt out the chorus and dance through the verses. it's all okay, it's all good.
and that's pretty skilled song writing.

Sims In Bloom: Generation 2 Pt. 84 (Checking In On the Clinic - and Another Baby Boom??)
cw: it's not a Conther baby I'll just say that right now. Sorry!
On top of her responsibilities to her family, Heather worked hard to keep Buttercup Pet Clinic's great reputation, but life at work was rarely easy.
She'd recently noticed a dip in her ratings and was tech-savvy enough to realize she'd been targeted. She traced the IPs to an address connected to George Brindleton's old company and gave the evidence to Conrad.
"He's trying to hurt my business because he's still sore over losing his, but as long as he's not going after the kids, I can take whatever he wants to throw at me. My clients know how good we are."
Conrad remembered his threat to sniff around Brindleton & Sons old financial files, but with this evidence he had cause for something better. "We're filing a restraining order," he insisted. "For you and the kids, because next time he might try to do more than hire a bot farm to drag your reviews down. But if I have to stay away from him, too, I can't look into his finances, if it comes to it."
"Is a restraining order really necessary? What if it makes him more upset? I'll always let you know if I hear from him again, but I'd love to just forget we ever met him."
Conrad nodded apologetically. "It's necessary. He just needed to do something stupid like this before I could file for one. Just keep focused on your clinic. I've got my eye on George Brindleton."
Heather tried to increase the value of her clinic's furnishings, but she lacked a real aesthetic eye and now she also had marketing expenses. With every passing day she worked hard, and though sometimes it never seemed enough, George Brindleton wouldn't break her.
One cold winter morning, Kaori Hayashi, Heather's best vet tech, tended to local blacksmith Abby Harms' Australian Shepherd, Jax. As Heather finished with another patient, Spencer Pancakes surprised her old friend when she brought her dog, JJ, to the clinic.
It wasn't that she'd brought her pet, as she had so many times before, but Spencer sported a sizable baby bump, too.
"Spencer! I can't believe it! I thought the doctors said-"
"They were wrong!" (Mod conflicts! Sorta wrecks the surrogacy storyline but also whatever.) "Needless to say, we didn't expect it. We kept it to ourselves until Dr. Scott said we were healthy. We wanted to tell you!"
"Are you feeling okay about it? I know you didn't want a big family."
Spencer sighed. "Everett's thrilled. I had to move another work trip to Selvadorada, but I'm making the best of it. I took my mom's advice and started painting, and it's nice that Lydia and I are pregnant at the same time. Since it's her first and I need all the help I can get, we're kind of in it together. The pregnancy really does feel like a miracle, and Everett's an incredible father."
"Your boys have a great mom, too." Spencer offered a pitiful smile, and Heather remembered her last visit with Spencer's father-in-law. "Bob came in with one of his cats back in the fall and he mentioned he was worried about you. I kept meaning to call and plan a trip like he suggested, but life's been so busy, and...I didn't want to believe what he was saying, I guess. It didn't feel like any of my business."
(Quick for new readers, Heather doesn't want to intrude on their family because Jett is her biological son with Everett, conceived via science as Heather was their surrogate. She's tried to set a clear boundary to avoid any confusion for or about toddler Jett.)
Spencer nodded. "Bob means well. And I'm doing okay, really. The baby kicks all the time. Like right now. Here: feel. Since we moved back to Henford, it's been better. We haven't had any snow yet!"
"Don't remind me. I miss the mild winters in Henford, but Ash really loves the snow. It's great enjoying it through his eyes."
"The boys love living with my parents and running through the fields like we did. Everett's family comes around all the time, and he's happier at the parish in Henford. Oh! Would you believe that old fox, Pawbin Hood, is still alive?! He's still wearing the Sherwood Forest get up you bought from the creature keeper when we were fourteen!"
"I guess I'm not surprised; I swear, the foxes will outlive us all. Everett thinks they react differently to the wild mushrooms than sims do." Gently, she steered the conversation back to her friend. "And all of that sounds great for everybody else. But what about you, Spence?"
"On days I'm feeling overwhelmed, I'm just glad everyone's there to pick up the slack."
"What about work?"
"Paused for now, I guess. At this point I won't get back to Selvadorada until this one's out of diapers." She pointed to her bump. "But if you can get away, you should come with me next time I go. You're just as good at identifying artifacts, and you love exploring the jungle as much as I do."
"I would love that," Heather said, awash with nostalgia over their first trip to the jungle for Spencer's bachelorette. After their quick visit, she tended to JJ - who was fine other than a mild case of lava nose - and she sent them on their way with a refill of organic disinfectant spray to keep treating him.
Later that afternoon, Heather took a moment to relax and hydrate when she was met by another surprise visitor. The woman walked in heavily pregnant and disguised under a bandana and sunglasses, but Heather recognized her name from her digital sign-in sheet. "Emi Wise? You used to be Emi Kudo, didn't you? You were a vet tech here when I was in high school!"
Emi looked around to ensure she didn't recognize any other faces in the lobby. "I remember you and your parents," she admitted. "When I used VetConnect to find a clinic to help my Olive, I realized Sorrel Jackson sold you this place. I like the rebrand, and I liked it even better when I saw you got away from Landgraab Corp. I think you might be the only vet in Simlandia who can help us. That's the only reason I risked coming back here."
As Heather healed Olive in an exam room, Emi noted the place hadn't changed much since she'd worked there. "You've rebranded, and you should really invest in a whole new look. My husband's an architect, and I think he could design something incredible. When Olive has to come back for her follow-up appointment, I'll bring him with me so he can get a look at the place, if you want."
"That sounds great, actually. I'm always looking for ways to really spruce this place up!"
Heather called Conrad to set one more plate at the table for dinner before she invited Emi to her home next door. Grateful for Heather's hospitality so she and Olive could rest a little before their long journey home, Emi opened up about her life in the years since she'd left Brindleton Bay in such a hurry.
"I had an affair with a married man, and he chose his wife, of course. I was so young and naive. I had no idea what to do, but I knew I couldn't stay. So I bought a one-way plane ticket to Evergreen Valley because it felt far enough away from here. I met a man and fell in love a month after I got to town, and he raised the twins like they were his own from the day they were born. We had a son together, and this one will be a girl."
"It sounds to me like everything worked out for the best. You don't have to tell me who the father is, but there are rumours around town."
(Basically, it's a good thing Kaori finished up with Jax and Mrs. Harms before Emi and Olive showed up!)
Emi's face went white. "Please don't tell him or his wife I was here. I promised I wouldn't ever ask for a thing for the boys, but if they see me here they might think I want to cause trouble."
"Your secret's safe with me," Heather promised.
True to her word, Emi brought her husband Layne for Olive's follow up, and he and Heather spoke about plans to revamp the clinic completely - a total rebuild, with class, elegance, and in keeping with Brindleton Bay's coastal charms.
Buttercup Pet Clinic was a place where people felt comfortable being open and vulnerable, and Heather heard her fair share of gossip inside the clinic walls. She was becoming something of a neighbourhood confidante, and took it seriously when people trusted her with their problems. With this in mind, Layne offered to add a small cafe - a relaxed gathering place for owners to wait for their pets and sip coffee. Heather was excited, and couldn't wait for spring to get started on construction.
As a bonafide Friend of the Animals, Heather was pretty great with her human friends, too. And she wanted her clinic to reflect that. ->
<- Previous Chapter | Gen 2 Start | Gen 1 Summary | Gen 1 Start
NOTE: So my game had ANOTHER baby boom but now I think I'm maxed and need some elders to expire before more nooboos will generate randomly. That said, in addition to Emi and her husband (Layne Wise originally known as Leoric Weild), Everett & Spencer, and Lydia & Alexander, River and Cassandra are expecting again, too! That's two more grandkids for Bella!
I checked on the Gen 1 Nesbitt household, where River and Cassandra live with Neal, Daisy, and their son Michael (plus dog Bernadette and cat Duchess) and pregnant Cass got on an autonomous video call with her mom. š„°
NOTE 2: It's been on my list to get Heather and Spencer back to Selvadorada for almost a decade (in game!). I'm trying to complete the Jungle Explorer aspiration with Spencer, but there really has not been a good time as they both have small kids or keep getting pregnant. The aspiration isn't a requirement for this generation and more a bonus goal for me, but I really want to do it so stay tuned!
Heather's had Adventurous as a bonus trait since they went on their first trip together, and ever since then she's just been able to use it for wild woohoo and being eager and excited about the Ambrosia Society's challenge, whereas Conrad was a lot more cautious (about the latter - the wild woohoo doesn't trouble him at all!)
NOTE 3: As always, I thank @rinseesims for adding the iconic Leoric Weild from her iconic UDC to the Sims 4 gallery because he makes a great dad/architect in this universe!

Hey, I know that you've been doing a lot of advice/listening for people who need to rant and stuff lately.
I was just wondering if there was anything you wanted to rant about/get advice on. I love you so much and I'd hate for you to feel like you couldn't express your own thoughts/worries just because you're helping everyone else.
You can respond to this, or even DM me any time. ā„ļøā„ļøā„ļø
Actually, yeah.
Background for those of you reading who don't know: I am a middle school ESL teacher. I work with students who are immigrants. Many of them are not citizens, or their parents are not citizens. (Not all of them, but many).
Now that it's pretty obvious Trump is going to win the election, I have decided to take the day off of school today to collect myself. I need a day to process and I don't think I'll be able to keep it together if I go in today because selfishly, I am disgusted and upset about MY rights.
But tomorrow when I go in to work, how do I talk to a bunch of 11-15 year olds about the fact that their lives and their parents' lives may now be drastically affected by this? I'm a citizen, I'm white, I'm not affected in this way, and I don't know how to be real with them and sympathetic without scaring them.
Obviously, @pickinglilahs, this isn't just directed at you. Anyone reading can answer. But I just am not sure how to address this with them in a way that shows I am here for them, while not starting a detailed discussion that might not be allowed by my school and also not scaring them more.

Second part of this one
Bill Cipher x Fem!Reader
cw: gore, bill is a warning by himself, mdni, yandere and obsessive behavior
''She's my wife! You're talking about my wife, Cipher!'' Ford ran his hands through his hair, feeling desperate. Disgust was driving him mad; fury was blinding him. ''You've crossed a boundary! You're aā¦''
''A monster, a madman, a sick man,'' Bill interrupted him lazily. ''Yeah, yeah. I get that a lot, thanks, Fordsy. Anyway, what do you say? Do we have a deal?''
Ford backed up a couple of steps, colliding with the edge of his desk behind him. His hand brushed against a statuette of Cipher himself; a figure of pure gold that weighed between his fingers as he lifted it into the air, eyes fixed on the demon. The latter shook his hand in denial. 'No, no. Don't even think about it.' But he did it anyway. He didn't even get to hit himāBill had disappeared.
"Come back here, Bill!" cried the investigator in despair. "Don't you dare lay a hand on my wife again, Cipher!"
But all he received in response was a shrill laugh, and the blow of a warm breeze that made him stagger. The lights went out, and in the gloom the only thing that enveloped Ford was silence barely interrupted by his own breathing.
"My God," he whispered, "what have I done?"
After your talk with Bill, and the forced kiss that sealed an implied deal, your life becomes confusing and uncomfortable.
The demon had not stopped possessing your husband until the day you decided that enough was enough.
The limit was to have found him on you, forcing your petticoats with the hands of the man who was supposed to be your companion.
How were you supposed to know when it was Ford and not Bill? How could you let him kiss your lips with that sweetness, sometimes interspersed with the awkwardness of a need that already seemed alien to you?
When Ford found out about the situation you were acting so strange about, his fury is such that even you find yourself terrified of the human as you were of the demon.
They felt like one and the same entity. At this point you didn't know what to think about it.
Your relationship with your husband deteriorated considerably. It was easy to see how uncomfortable it made him to know that you and Bill had been intimate.
"Aren't we ever going to talk about it, then? Ford, I'm addressing the word to you..."
"I know," he interrupted you, the frustration palpable in his voice. "You've been saying the same thing every day, throughout every week; it's a regular thing come this point."
"Because we need to talk about it! For God's sake, Ford, you can't even stand to be in the same room with me anymore. Do you think this situation hasn't affected me too?"
You heard his footsteps coming towards where you were. You felt him in front of you, with his scent and his breathing altered into a choked growl. "Be honest with me, didn't you suspect at any time that that imitation wasn't me?"
"Ford, not again with this..." you sighed.
"Not again, you say? Not again, as if it were something upsetting to you," he exclaimed. "Oh, well, perhaps it isāperhaps because things happened there that I don't know about. More things I don't knowāI don't want to know. Terrible things, lots of secrets hidden from me, your husband!"
"Are you serious, Stanford? You're coming at me with such audacity!" You had risen from your seat, colliding immediately with your husband's chest. His hands took you by surprise; a shove brought you back to the world as you hit the table at your side. "Ford! What's wrong with you, God..."
"This is all wrong! This is all terrible!" he shouted. Moments later there was silence. It took your husband some time to regulate his own breathing. "Whole weeks... being possessed by a creature I thought was my friend, my companion. Days believing I was falling into madness; the darkness of a confused dream enveloping me, devouring my senses... all of me. All of me! My works, my researches, my wife! He dared to possess my woman!"
"So that's what I am to you," you hastened to add. "Just your woman. That's what this irrational outburst of yours is all about, Stanford."
"It's everything! This is about everything! For God's sake, woman, understand. He's taken everything from meāhe's trying to make it, and he's closing in on me by leaps and bounds... He's wanted to ruin my life completely and you don't understand! You can't be so selfish!"
"Who's being selfish here, when you were the scoundrel hiding a demon under our feet! This was all started by you, Stanford! And you never told me the truth!" You covered your face for a moment, sighing faintly. "You let him take your body and walk around the house; you kept me ignorant of your true plans while to him you built a shrine."
"How did you..."
"He told me," you interrupted him coldly, "as usual. Because of course I have to find out what's going on in my own house from a demon. Same demon who, by the way, got into our room to try to molest me!"
"You could have told me that in the first place! Things don't magically escalate."
"Excuse me? What are you trying to tell me?"
His silence confirmed the shame that had overwhelmed him by his own words.
"I'm talking to you, Ford."
"You should have told me. You allowed him direct entry."
"I don't think I gave him that much power," you shook your head. "Not like you gave it to him, Ford, with your portals and your 'insignificant' studies."
"I didn't mean to."
"And you think it was my intention to have him on top of me?"
"For God's sakeāthis is not about you!"
"It's never about me! Nothing is ever about me, your very wife, Ford!" You held back the heart-rending cry in your throat, until the other words snatched it from you. "I could have been raped that night and you didn't care! That thing has kissed me, touched me while in your body, and what affects you most is losing your portal! Please, Stanford, please, I beg you to understand!"
You stretched out your arms in a desperate attempt to cling to your husband's shirt. You knew where he was when you brushed against his body; there your hands rested, fingers digging like daggers into his arms. Your voice was barely a whisper corrupted by pain and despair.
"I gave up everything for you," you continued, "even my hobbies, my friends and my family. I believed in you like no one ever has; I sacrificed time, sweat and tears on your journey to glory... All for you. Always for you. When will there be something for me? When will I have a family of my own? When will I have a nice home? When will I feel safe?" you weighed a couple of raw ideas at the back of your mind. "When will I feel safe with you, Ford. You're supposed to be my husband..." you sobbed.
"I need you to understand," he whispered back. "Please, honey. I need you to."
"I'm tired of understanding things I don't know," you shook your head, possessed by crying. "You let that thing into this house. You gave your body, your mind... your wife."
"I would never allow him to lay a hand on you!"
"He's done it already!" you shouted back. "He's already done as much damage as you have, Ford! You're just like that! Unsatisfied, cruel creatures; eager to carry more than your arms can carry. He may be able to make it. Not you, Ford. And that's your problemāyourself. You're selfish, self-centered..."
"You don't know what you're talking about."
"... and I begin to believe that I have been a victim of that victorious perversity that consumes you when you get something that others want and can't. But you could! And now you want more! More of what you shouldn't, of that which you can't have."
"I can have it! I'm capable! You know it; you've heard me achieve it."
"Thanks to him. And everything has a price in life, Stanford. Who says I'm not that now?"
The laughter that your husband dismissed hurt your soul.
"It's not that simple. He couldn't want you for... I don't understand. Why would he want you for something like this? I don't get it. Why would he want you in exchange for something like this? What do you figure here, but a sack of meat like me?"
"I don't know, you tell me," you shrugged. "Why do you want me, Ford? What do you think I possess, beyond a hole for you to fuck when you're stressed? Do you consider me to have value? Maybe you think I'm a stupid bitchā"
"Don't talk about yourself like that!" he interrupted you, sounding hurt. "One thing has nothing to do with the other here, right now."
"I think it has a lot to do with when your pride outweighs your wife's honor and safety. Does that title do any good? Perhaps the term 'maid' paints a better picture, considering how much you hold me in high regard as a person."
"Stop it."
"And that's all you have to say."
Life feels empty when your marriage suddenly seems like a sham.
You no longer consider Ford a company that provides you with security; now you are truly on your own.
The world is scary.
And this is where he comes to save the day.
More or less, let's assume.
Bill takes this opportunity to start filling your head with hallucinations. You can't escape them.
Your husband is a nightmare that whispers lies in your ear, which later become truths the more you think about them.
Cipher doesn't show up in your dreams until months later, when your husband is at his worst peak of stress and paranoid episodes.
The demon is much more kind, caring and receptive to you than ever before; even manipulating your brain to reproduce his figure in your mind.
At last you meet Mr. Cipher.
"But look who it is! The protagonist of this beautiful story of bloody, forbidden visceral romance from...! Oh, forget it. The title is too long."
The triangle levitates around you with its golden glow. Its edges are sharp; it has only one eye, and it wears a galley and a staff that seems to have a life of its own, far away from you, circling in the air. It is black, just like the galley and the slender limbs of the beast.
The laughter is as loud as ever. For a moment it brings you peace. It's the sameānothing has changed nor is a lie. It's just Bill.
"That's me! Yes, ma'am." Its figure reappears in front of you, with one of its small hands resting on your cheek. "My pronouns are call/me/Bill; but I also go by he/him."
"Are you reading my mind?"
"Oh, you little bag of muscle and nerves! We're in your mind," he laughed. "By the way, you should be nicer to me."
"I don't have to be nice to you," you replied. "You've ruined my life."
"Ruin your life, you say! Oh, no, my dear, but I haven't done anything!" His hand moved away from you, returning to his back as he entwined it with the other. His eye narrowed for a moment; he was fascinated. "But didn't you mean, rather, your husband's life? Isn't it the same as yours?"
"Is that, you suppose, a comment to hurt me?"
"Hurting you is one of my last thoughts when I think of you," he said. "And believe me: I think about you a lot."
"I don't want to know what kind of things."
"And you do very well not to want to!"
Another shrill laugh pierced your ears like a needle. The sound settled painfully in your brain.
"Oh, my dear! So beautiful and so pitifully silly," he sighed. "How I've missed you."
"I find it rather disturbing the way you address me. Especially after the accident..."
"That night!" he interrupted you; so fascinated that his yellow color darkened into a kind of still luminous blush. "Perhaps I was a little thrilled by the tenderness of your fleshāhow your heart throbbed! An organ pumping warm blood, under that weak skin."
The triangle was suddenly in front of you. His eye wide open.
"The way your muscles tensed in your face," he continued, "with each eye wide open, as if you could just see me. No need to when you can feel me, little one. And how did that feel? How did you feel under the rough warmth of hands on the smooth skin of your belly?"
"While you were using my husband!" you cried out in shame. "You forced yourself on me with my husband's body. You are a..."
You bit your lip, holding back the string of insults that were about to hang from your mouth. Bill narrowed his eye, humming an unfamiliar tune.
"I'm a... what? Say it, come on!"
"Just shut up," you growled. "Shut your mouthāwhatever you use to talk. Shut it."
"A little bird told me something very interesting. I'm sure you want to know! I know you do!"
You covered your face, using your hands to stifle a frustrated scream that could barely overshadow Bill's animated narration. His voice was penetrating your head, which was funny to think about considering the two of you were in your mind; there was no way his voice wasn't getting through to you being in a place like this. There was no escape possible.
"Oh! Yes, that's right," he pointed out with his cane. "You can't wake up until I decide."
"That's crazy!"
"I guess... Whatever! You want to play a game of chess for which you might lose something very valuable to you when I cheat?"
"Of course not!" You rubbed both hands together, trying to stop the trembling all over your body. "Ford will notice I'm not in the kitchen; I always make breakfast. He'll notice, won't he?"
"Dear, are you asking me or are you losing your senses?"
"Isn't it the same?" you turned to look at him, narrowing your eyes. "Wondering something to you, losing my mindāisn't it the same thing?"
Bill rolled his eye, dropping his cane in the air again. "What a mood! Too many gentlemen on this world for so few ladiesā"
"What do you want?" you interrupted him. There was no answer. You took a deep breath as you met his gaze upon you; too much intensity, with his figure levitating slower and slower. "Bill, please, is there something you want? Because I can't give it to you. You should talk it over with Ford, like always" you muttered.
"Something I want," he repeated. "Maybe I wasn't very clear with you. In the olden days new romantic prospects used to murder the current spouse. You want that? So freaky, grrā"
"What the fuck are you talking about! My God," you swallowed the string of insults hanging from your throat. "Cipher, let me go right now. Go and talk to my husband and do together whatever it is you have in mind. Leave me alone!"
"I tried to talk to Fordsy about you," rushed the demon defensively, "but I don't think he liked certain details... My bad, I admit it! There are always second chancesāalthough with him we'd be going for number three hundred and twenty something, I think... I don't know, I don't care! Hey, you really don't want to play chess with me?"
"You told him about that night," you whispered. Tears began to tickle your cheeks without your noticing them. "You told him first and he never... Ford never told meāhe never told me about it..."
"And then he made you feel terrible about it," he laughed. "How crazy is Fordsy. And what's with all that pushing and shoving this last week? Didn't you see it coming? Ha! Get it? Because you're totally blindā"
"I can't wail and cry if I hear your shitty voice."
"Oh, come on! It's not my fault your husband is a deranged madman. There are lots of fish in the ocean, did you know that? Lots and lots... Lots, really... Then there's me, who's better," he pointed to himself, shrinking his eye in a smile. "I mean, uh, a god, technically."
"A demon."
"Very soon a god," he corrected you.
You frowned, forcing a smile as you said, "But you're still a demon. One trapped far away from our world, aren't you? What assures you that you're going to be anything more than that, when Stanford no longer believes in you?"
"The last thing I care about is your husband," Bill narrowed his eye. "Beyond that, could it be that you're testing me?"
"Testing you?"
"If I can get out of here, if I can catch you anywhere, anytime," he continued, "does that mean I win?"
"For you everything is a game. A demon at the end of the day."
Bill's shrill laughter pierced your ears again. This time you found him in front of you in the blink of an eye; closer, more attentive.
"Does that mean I win?" he whispered. "Because I believe I can have you whenever I want, wherever I wantāthis is just a taste of my power."
"This is a sign of what a monster you are," you replied in kind. "Ford will not allow you to go beyond your dimensionā"
"Fordsy couldn't stop me all those times I messed with you," the demon interrupted you, suddenly surly at the mention of your husband. "It's almost like he doesn't care. Anyway, that brainiac is going to fail sooner or later, and there's no corner of the universe where you can hide your head. I'll be there, in your dreams; and I'll be here, where you don't see me. Everywhere I'm going to be, dear little flesh bag."
"Don't fucking call me that!"
"Nuh-uh!"
You opened your mouth, ready to pour over his expectant eye a couple more insults, but the lack of your own voice led you to wrap both hands around your neck. You thought you were piercing flesh with your fingernails; you caressed muscle, you smeared yourself with blood. You wanted to scream, terrified, alone in the middle of an empty, dark space, but the only response to the nervous silence of your panic attack was another thunderous laugh.
Everything was suddenly red. Red and painful. A sharp stab of pain shot through your body from your throat, and with a shocking jolt you fell to your knees, drowning in your own blood. Warm, viscous, thick. You closed your eyes, too disgusted with the spectacle of intense sensations assaulting your senses, and let yourself be carried away by the spasms that seemed to go on forever. You barely felt him on you.
When you opened your eyes, overcome by another intense, hot sensation, you found Bill leaning over you. His yellow color had migrated to a deep black; red edges like your blood, glowing, and with the same wide-open, watchful eye. You noted with another kind of horror that same morbid charm in his gazeāthe ravenous hunger of a natural hunter.
You shook your head, barely moving your lips in a faint 'please'.
"I missed this," he said. "I missed you. It's strange... this feeling, I meanāit's kind of weird. It's unpleasant. But when I finally have you again, when I can touch you, I can see you, I can hear you, that awful feeling goes away; it disappears and I feel good again. I feel better. It's strange, like I told you."
One of his limbs brushed against the bleeding wound on your neck. The nightmare was compounded by the pressure of his fingers playing with your flesh.
"You're beautiful," he whispered. "If you could see yourself. I don't think you'd understand. It would be fun, anyway. See you cry, make you scream," he laughed. "You know, the usual. Stanford makes you cry a lot, doesn't he? He hurts you."
It took you a while to respond, but you were able to give him a nod.
"Everything he does is a product of my own genius," Bill continued. "I'm better. A hell of a lot better. This is just beginning; there's more to this than I've shown you now. A lot more. But that's all right! We have all the time in the world. Lots of nights, lots of dreams. Opportunities, my pretty little bag of nerves."
His limb moved away from your wound, wrenching another spasm from your body. You couldn't take your eyes off the way the demon was spewing a long, slimy tongue from the strip below his eye, starting from the socket. Another repulsive limb. The flesh of your body disappeared in what was a light taste of your own flavor. You noticed the fascination in his small figure; the tremor of ecstasy bursting the moment.
"Fordsy would be delighted to know this," Bill said, squinting his eye. "You think we should tell him?"
'We?' Your own mind gave you away.
"I'm asking for your opinion! That's what couples do, right?"
Silence. Bill let out a sigh; his yellow color back with a particular glow.
"Whatever," he shrugged, "I don't think he'll mind. This may be our little secret." He approached you, levitating gently. "As for you, beautiful little waste, I hope to see you in a better mood soon. There's so much to do! So many things to talk about. Our plans ahead, of courseāthe big moment. What a thrill!"
Your eyes began to close. The pain gradually, gently subsided. It was getting harder and harder to hear Bill chattering.
"... portal, and the... But maybe a crazy... you and me, of..."
Before you faced the impending total darkness, Bill's intense gaze invaded your mind. This time you stopped listening to him. In spite of that, a new sharp pang of pain pierced your head; it upset you completely, as one who feels disarmed at the discomfort of their own body, and made you wake up again. This time there was no yellow demon in front of you. There was nothing, directly. Not that nothing of one whose eyes are coveredābut that kind of empty expectation, typical of the blind.
'Returned home,' you thought with a sigh.
The morning was quiet, but not calm. Bill's nightmare had left you jittery, with tremors and a nagging itch in your neck. A sick kind of paranoia kept you standing between the bedroom and the bathroom, unable to go any further. It was the murmur of timid footsteps downstairs that made you make the decision: tell Ford, give him the chance again. Who else did you have in the world but him?
You walked down the stairs with the itch in your neck increasing as your husband's silence to your calls did. At a certain point, and with madness tearing tears from your eyes, you ended up tripping over an obstacle on the floor where you thought the living room was. You rested your hands as soon as you felt the blow of the air like a whip; the pain came seconds later, along with the roughness of a jacket.
Ford did not wear such jackets.
You pushed your fingers against the leather, dragging your nails along the inner fur. You felt the coolness of some pins, and maybe found a couple of holes.
"Ford?"
"He's not here."
A man's broken voice took you by surprise. You jumped up, fell back down, and began to crawl backwards across the floor. You forgot about the pain and itching in your neck.
"Who are you?! What did you do to my husbandā"
"Just... just a moment! Please!" The voice broke even more, as if choked with an inevitable cry. "You said husbandāyou must be her, I mean, his girl. His wife. Logically, isn't it?" an unfunny laugh broke through his words. "Please, I'm not here to do anything bad..."
"Who the fuck are you?!"
Silence. A long one, interrupted by a couple of accelerated breaths.
"Stanley," the man replied. "I'm Stanley Pines. I'm Stanford's brother."
"He doesn't... No, because he doesn't have a brother. You are lying to meā"
"Are you blind?"
This time the silence came from you.
"I didn't think... Sorry, I didn't get a good look at you," he rushed back. "I'm sorry, ma'am."
"Stanley Pines," you said, "is that really your name? Stanford never told me about you." You craned your neck, gathering as much air as you could. "Stanfā"
"He's not here."
"What do you mean? Did he go out or something? Again," you sighed.
Silences were commonplace at this point. You had time to stand up with the help of the supposed Stanley. You let him guide you to an armchair, allowing him as much freedom as a tired woman could allow a man this robust. You tried not to let fear blind your senses.
If he was inside the house, it meant he hadn't set off any traps. Was he telling the truth?
"Did Ford tell you where he went?" you insisted in the absence of an answer. "Do you know when he'll be back?"
"I don't think he..." a heavy, shaky sigh. "Sorry, but I think StanfordāI don't think he can come, today, at least..."
"What do you mean?"
But you didn't need a clear answer. Stanley was still talking, saying things very unimportant to you; and yet there was something special that leapt into your mind along with the memory of a thunderous laugh. The word 'portal' throbbed in rhythm with your heart, leaving in its wake a trail of horror from which a couple of tears were born. Only then did you return to the worldāalong with Stanley's hand caressing your back.
"I'm really sorry," he continued in a soft cry. "I didn't mean to, I swear..."
"Through the portal?"
"It was too fast, and... and then we pushed each other a lot, and there was screamingā"
"Then I guess he's not coming back," you sighed shakily, interrupting him. "Ford's not coming back. My God..."
"I'm going to fix that thing. You have my word."
The image of Bill in your dreams quickly jumped into your memories. You reached desperately for Stan's hands, taking them in yours. You stared into the void, hoping to behold his face of -possible- intrigue.
"You can't touch that thing!" you exclaimed in warning. "Stanley, you can't go near that portal, please. You have no idea what's in store for us on the other side."
"My brother is trapped in there! God, woman, your own husband!"
"This is beyond him right now!"
His hands released yours; a push let you know that he had risen from your side.
"You're crazy," he growled. "As crazy as he is. Just a crazy couple!"
"You have no idea what this is, Stanley Pines... You have no idea. You haven't the faintest idea. Am I crazy? Do you think I've lost my mind? I think you saw Ford very well; I'd like to think there's something of him in youāthat you understand why I'm this way. Whose fault is it!"
"Your husband could be dead and you just go around attributing blame!"
"Our lives are at stake! Good Lord, Stanley, you have no idea what it was like to live with him!"
The image of Bill wouldn't leave your head. At this point you didn't know if you were thinking of Ford, or the triangular demon.
"I'm going to fix that fucking machine," Stanley spat angrily, "and I'm not going to let some crazy woman stop me over a couple of superstitions. I've had enough of that with Stanford. I want my brother back, and I'm going to get him. Whatever it takes."
You heard his footsteps walk away from the room, and seconds later a slamming door vibrated through your bare feet. Until then you hadn't felt the cold seeping into your sensitive flesh. Nothing seemed to matter enough to you.
It wasn't about Ford anymore; now you had to deal with the nervous insanity of his so-called brother. Could it get even worse?
Maybe.

The level of disappointment I feel for the new dragon age game is just so consuming. Like I'll admit that after so many years, I didn't think it would hold true to what the previous game set up. But I hate that I was right, and I hate that a game series I loved so much sas turned into what it is now. I didn't buy it at launch because I wanted to wait for a sale, but with all that I'm hearing I'm wondering if it's even worth it. I'm just so sad for how this all went and I wish it hadn't happened. It even makes replaying the old games feel like scorched earth because nothing I do will have an effect on anything. It never mattered. The game that said my choices matter has now said "actually you never mattered" and I'm so heartbroken about it.
It even makes replaying the old games feel like scorched earth because nothing I do will have an effect on anything. It never mattered. The game that said my choices matter has now said "actually you never mattered" and I'm so heartbroken about it.
This is also one of the most painful parts for me, together with the way they handled - or ignored - a majority of the established lore.
In Veilguard, we learn that the majority of the South is basically gone: Denerim is lost, Redcliffe is under siege, getting help from the dwarves of Orzammar, who are already stretched thin. The ruler of Ferelden is never addressed - what happened to them? Are they still alive? Are they defending Redcliffe? We'll never know.
Orlais is also lost. Val Royeaux and Halamshiral are barely holding on, and a noble faction decided (for some stupid reason) to join the Venatori and spread even more chaos. The ruler of Orlais is never addressed - are they dead? Did the rebel nobility kill them? What happened to Briala's elves? We'll never know.
Kirkwall has fallen, and Aveline has been forced to evacuate the city and move the few survivors to Starkhaven. We know that Varric is dead, so Aveline or someone else will have to take his place, if Kirkwall can even be recovered (doubtful at this point).
The Blight is back in Ostagar and the Korcari Wilds, too, with only some Avvar and Alamarri clans keeping things under control while in a temporary truce with Ferelden.
Everything we ever accomplished in DA:O, DA2, and DA:I is gone. They turned the South into a blank state so they can leave it there, ignoring it, now that the focus will be on Those Across the Sea, as the secret ending slide shows. This blank state will also allow them to return to the South, should they ever wish to, but without the need to take into account the players' past choices, because everything we knew, everything we built and fought for, is gone.
"Oh, Ferelden changed so much in the last twenty years or so, ever since that terrible Blight caused by the elven gods!"
"Orlais isn't the same anymore, there is another civil war because we lost our previous ruler. Who was it? Oh, I don't know, I wasn't born yet, I couldn't care less."
"Pity about Kirkwall. I heard it was a shithole, but the beer at the Hanged Man was apparently pretty good."
^ This is what we will get in the future.
