Pairing - Professor! Spencer Reid x Fem!Reader Summary - When Spencer Reid bumps into one of his students while she's highly intoxicated, he takes it upon himself to get her home safely. Warnings - Student/teacher relationship, drinking, very slight implication of sexual assault Words - 1.9K
A/n - Thinking about making this into a little mini-series so let me know if you like this!
masterlist
It was Friday night and every student was somewhere in town. Groups of them crowding the bar, ordering shots or vodka sodas. Whatever was cheapest and whatever could get them drunk enough.
It just so happened that this certain Friday night, Y/n had gulped on too many drinks. It was barely 1am before she was stumbling to the dance floor, her friend's hand interlocked. Her intoxicated dance was enough to draw some attention. Some men eyeing her in the corner, some more girls wanting to join in and a man she knew at the bar: Professor Spencer Reid. One of her lecturers. Her favourite lecturer in fact.
Y/n didn't really register it in her drunken state until she wandered up to the bar and spotted him closer up. He was sipping on a something with coke, stood beside a man she didn't recognise: broad-shouldered and tough. "Professor?" She called with a sly smile rising to her lips.
Spencer turned: a pleasant surprise. "Y/n, hi, it's good to see you." He returned the smile, observing the girl's obvious drunken state.
"Well, I certainly didn't expect to see you here...no offence." She giggled drunkenly. Her professor was, obviously, much older. He seemed the type to enjoy a book on a Friday night - not a bar.
Spencer pointed to the man next to him, "It's erm- Morgan dragged me here." Said man turned to face Y/n, a cheeky glint already settled in his eye.
"Are you one of the doctor's students, hm?" He asked.
"I am," She answered, "Do you work at BAU too?"
Morgan shook his head, "Used to."
"Well, it was nice bumping into you both," She sent them a final smile, "See you Monday morning, sir." She directed such at Spencer before turning to face the bartender who was awaiting to take her order.
And once she grasped it, returning to her friends with a stumble in her steps, Morgan glanced back at Reid. The boy knew Morgan long enough to know what was coming: what that glint in his eyes meant. "She's interesting," He commented, observing Spencer. "Maybe I need to switch career paths."
Spencer swallowed hard on his drink, "She's my student, Morgan." The other man only shrugged at such response; nothing in the sensual sense ever seemed off-putting to Morgan. But Spencer, well he had many lines he had yet to cross. And Y/n was one of them.
His eyes gazed over to the girl who was giggling at something one of her friends had said. She was beautiful - she would give Morgan that. But, as much as that was the case, a relationship further than academic would be... inappropriate. No matter what Spencer might have thought about the girl. Even now, as he glanced at her from afar, she seemed nothing but carefree, captivating, alluring. And he couldn't let his mind go there.
An hour or so had passed when Spencer finally convinced Morgan that they should go home. He wandered outside, making sure Morgan got into his taxi all right before the front door to the bar swung open. Y/n stepped out, attempting to grasp a single cigarette from the packet. She had yet to notice her professor watching her. Once she had one between her fingertips, another challenge arrived: lightening it.
"Need some help there?" Spencer wandered up to her, shoving his hand into his trouser pockets.
If she were sober, she probably would have stopped what she was doing. Smoking in front of one of her preferred professors wasn't exactly the view she wanted to give. "Erm- I-" She sighed, giving in and handing the lighter over to Spencer, "Yes."
He took it, creating a block from the wind with one hand and letting the fire ignite before the girl was able to inhale the smoke into her lungs. "Thanks," She muttered before he took a step away.
"You shouldn't smoke you know," He could go on a ramble - but he wouldn't.
She shrugged, "I know, I just- I can't find my friends, I don't know where they've gone." She explained. "I thought they might be out here."
Spencer looked around the pavement they were standing on: deserted. "But?"
"But, they're not." She huffed as the smoke exhaled from her lips. She stumbled as she took a step, "I think- I think they went to some club." Her head banged - it was all beginning to become blurred.
And at her words, Spencer's concern intensified. "And they left you here?" He questioned.
Her eyes fell to the floor as she attempted to think, "I didn't want to go." She told him. "I shouldn't be- I can't-"
Before she could get out her drunken slurs, a hand came to her shoulder, "Do you have a way home?"
Y/n found herself effortlessly staring into the gaze of her behavioural analyst professor. "I erm- I walk." She answered him as if he had willed the very words from her lips.
Spencer decided then and there; he wasn't having this. If not for the very feeling inside him that compelled him to take care of her, it was the fact she was a young girl walking alone at night. Quite frankly, he taught some of the men at this college - he didn't trust them. "Come on," He spoke as he wandered over to his car.
Yet, Y/n stayed where she was, "What?" She couldn't even think this was a possibility.
"I'll drive you home," He said as he stopped, just by the driver's door. "Don't worry, I've only had two drinks. I just want to make sure you get home safe."
She shook her head. As tempting as a drive home with her attractive professor was, she couldn't possibly. "I'm fine, honestly-" She took a step, tripping on her own two feet.
Luckily, Spencer caught her before her face hit the stone concrete. Her fingers gripped his wrists as he took a hold of her. They didn't let go - not straight away. A moment passed as Y/n raised her head as to meet her professor's gaze. "What were you saying again?" He made the point of making.
She let go and straightened her back, "Are you sure don't mind?"
His smile became one of empathy, "I'd rather do this than wonder what could happen to you alone."
And so, without another thought, she slipped into the passenger seat of Spencer's car. A part of her wanted to be home, wanted to be in her bed. The other, however, liked the idea of being here...with him. "It's erm, Rose court, the student accom." She informed. "It's probably only a five-minute drive."
Spencer thought about making the point that even if it was an hour's drive, he would have made it at that very moment. He wanted her safe. Maybe because she was a brilliant student, maybe because he was concerned, or maybe because something else was urging his actions. Something of which the man had had a conscious decision to push to the side.
Though, even in a five-minute drive, Y/n had been lulled into sleep. The safety of someone she knew, the comfort of the leather car seat and the way the drinks had made her drowsy. Her eyelids had grown heavy and she didn't put up a fight against it.
When the car engine stopped, Spencer looked over at her. For a few seconds, he thought about not waking her. She was so peaceful, tranquil, with no worries, nothing but her own dreams. "Y/n," He whispered. Nothing. He placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, "Y/n, hey, we're here."
Slowly, her eyelids started to flutter open and she found her view of her professor. It was all real. It wasn't just an intoxicated dream. "Sorry," She murmured in response.
"It's fine, don't worry about it," He spoke before exiting the car and going round as to open the passenger door for the girl. "Are you okay to walk?"
She slipped her legs out, "I'm fine yeah."
Famous last words.
The moment her heels hit the concrete pavement, she wobbled right into Spencer's hold. "Okay, I'll walk you up to your room." He decided then and there, without even consulting the girl on such.
"I can walk up to my room, professor." She argued.
But all she was met with was a raised brow of uncertainty, "You can't get out of the car without falling. How do you think stairs are going to go?" That was something she chose not to argue with.
She started wandering up to the first door, searching through her bag for the keys. She swayed until she felt an arm wrap around her waist. Her body steadied. Her eyes found Spencer again. The subtle touch was making even her drunken, confident self nervous. "Is this okay?" He checked when he observed her unsure body language.
The girl swallowed, "Hmh." And then she looked away, finally grasping her keys.
Spencer watched as she stumbled over to the door, not daring to let his touch leave the girl. She slipped the key into the door and they were over the first hurdle. And then, stairs. "Let's go slow, okay?" Spencer soothed her through.
She gave nothing but an incoherent nod as she followed Spencer's steps. "Which one is it?" He questioned.
Y/n was pointing to a door across from the stairs, "B..B35." She informed as Spencer guided her to the door and she started looking for the apartment door key. "I've got it...somewhere." In the midst of her search, a thought came to mind. Her movement stopped and she glanced up over at Spencer, "Can I ask you something actually? While I'm, you know, erm-"
"Drunk?" Spencer chuckled as he finished her sentence.
"I mean, yeah." She couldn't deny such a fact. "I mean, I always wondered why you left the BAU? You always talk about it in lectures and it just- you talked about it with a lot of love." Spencer's smile faltered at the thought of nostalgic memories. "Sorry, if that's intruding, I just, I-"
"No, no, it's fine," Spencer's words were quick to ease the girl's worrisome thoughts. "I suppose I needed a break, a lot of things happened, I needed time away from the field to process them I guess." He explained, wondering if the girl would even remember any of this by the morning. Would she even know who dropped her off home?
She hummed, "Makes sense I guess." And like that, with no judgement or opinion, she went back to find her apartment key. "Here,"
Y/n swung the door open to her dorm, "Are you sure you're going to be alright?" Spencer checked.
"I think I can just about make it to my bed," She joked as she leaned against the doorframe. "Thank you, by the way." He didn't have to do what he did. Most professors wouldn't have done. But he, he was different.
His hands found their way back into the deep depths of his pockets as he replied, "I don't just have a responsibility to teach, but also a duty of care, I'm always here to make sure you're okay."
And he would be. For her, definitely. There was something ever so alluring about the girl. Something he would force himself to ignore. Something he wouldn't act on. Something which was inappropriate.

Okay I'm so curious because I see you posting about it all the time but I never know what is *actually* going on.
What does the zoom booze no doom thing entail? What are the rules? What is the origin story? Can anyone join?
I love when newer mutuals finally ask about Zoom. 😄
So my main and OTP fandom is Berena - Bernie Wolfe & Serena Campbell in the great *giggles* British hospital soap series Holby City.
Zoom, Booze, no Doom was born as an idea to actually watch Berena scenes together. At the end of 2019 this started as a bit of idle talk about how to actually do this, but you know : time zones, private lives, and so on…
Until, at the start of 2020, we suddenly all had nothing much more to do, but sit at home, watch tv, and worry about Covid.
So in April 2020 a weekly Berena Zoom rewatch started, hosted by a fandom friend. Everyone was welcome to join in. We skipped the doom scenes, which is how the name of our Zoom was born, because there was enough doom for everyone in real life, and finished our rewatch around the end of June, if I remember correctly.
The Zoom was fun! It was great to meet fandom friends at least virtually. It was a space to talk and vent and scream about our beloved on our screens. For me, it was something solid in uncertain times.
After we finished the rewatch, I didn’t want to stop zooming, so I took over as the host. We watched all kinds of media with our favs. The good, the mediocre, and the very, very bad things. We branched out. We had Halloween Zooms and Christmas Zooms. Bat’s belated birthday Zoom. Anniversary Zooms. ESC Zooms and live watch Zooms when Doctor Who or Silent Witness aired.
Covid restrictions became less and less, real life took over more space again, I started working and travelling again, but we’re still meeting up whenever I’m home (and not sick *sighs*).
We chat about our lives - there’s definitely more to tell nowadays - then we watch something together, then we chat some more, and at some point I kick everyone out of the Zoom because I’m getting tired. 😄
Some of us have been doing this since the very first Zoom. Some left, some joined in. Some take part whenever their busy life allows. A lot of us met in real life by now. We’re friends. Some of us went to the theatre together as a group from all over the world. While we all seem to suffer from severe writer’s block somehow these days, while Holby City has stopped airing for quite a while, we still hold on to our tiny, close knitted fandom corner. I feel like the Zoom changed our approach towards our fandom quite a bit.
I wouldn’t have thought that we’d make our first anniversary, but now it seems like we might reach our fifth? Five years, huh. Amazing. I love everyone taking part in this and I’m deeply grateful for the friendships grown from the Zoom.
I’ll stop being soppy now.
The rules are quite simple: Be kind. Bring joy. An interest in whatever we’re watching. A love for Berena and their actresses is a good thing.
If someone joins in for the first time, it’s nice if they chose a Zoom name that’s connected to their Tumblr, so we know who they are. Letting me know in advance is appreciated, because I tend to get anxiety if a new name pops up unexpectedly. 😌
Hope this answers your questions!
PS: I tend to avoid Zoom posts breaking containment these days (my nightmare was a containment break for a Doctor Who live watch 😂 - there’s only so many people I can host), so reblogs are off on this one.

dw empire of death
spoilers ofc
hm. like many RTD finales, a bit of a mixed bag. i feel less certain of my overall thoughts than last week (which i thought was a blast, tbh).
the good: i'm... pretty happy with the ruby mom reveal. this whole mystery box set up turning out to be "she was just a scared young woman who couldn't raise her baby", an ordinary woman mythologized by ruby and the doctor over the season, etc, is an extremely RTD solution. and as a fan of his stuff I liked seeing that... well... pivot to his roots as opposed to her being part of the pantheon or something (which I admit I did wonder about myself).
the *idea* of her pointing at the sign to name the baby is nice, I like the meaning of it and what Ruby takes from it, but it is a bit of a clumsy set up. very dramatic pointing, ms miller.
also as much as i was dying to see what the screen said lol i DID love the character moment of ruby stepping forward to offer the name to sutekh, only to smash it, and then clip his collar (lmfao btw). i thought that was a nice character moment for ruby. in that moment i thought perhaps we'd never find out the answer, and that would be something ruby sacrificed for the greater good. i wasn't sure how satisfying that would be and I guess I'll never have to find out bc it's not what happened lmao, but it is where i thought we might be headed.
i liked seeing the gloves and the rope from TCORR come back. i like surprise tools that will help us later :)
loved the memory tardis from the time window and the use of that tales from the tardis set. how cool.
loved the time window playing clips of classic who that's so fun. mel's moment with six's outfit awwww. and i'm sure i missed some of the namedrops of planets etc that fifteen was going on about but i liked the ones i caught. shan-shen! oodsphere!!
i thought the effects of the dust wave and the insta-crumbling was pretty good and spooky
i really like having mel around! i hope we get to see her cameo again
the mixed bag:
'the death wave is eating memories and going back through family trees in reverse' is pretty cool as a concept, i thought. where i think this hurts the resolution a bit is that in the moment i thought, "ok, well, ruby's "safe" because there's the Mystery, there's no family tree for it to climb!" but like... there was. does sutekh need to personally be aware of your family tree to kill you?
i really liked the moment of fifteen and ruby watching louise outside the coffee shop, and i really liked the moment where ruby sits down across from her and then the barista calls the name ruby and they have this look. i ... kind of found myself wishing that it would stop there? i mean, i'm happy for ruby, and i think "ruby found her bio fam and now ruby and her big family are together" is a nice ending for the character. but there was something so emotional and bittersweet about that split second of wondering and connection between the two, and ruby having that choice to make...
the goodbye between ruby and fifteen was lovely. millie gibson is so good her big watery eyes make me so sad. i've enjoyed the two of them together and i think they have incredible chemistry as characters and actors, like, what a team of besties. i'll miss ruby on the TARDIS. but ... only 10 episodes, a couple of which didn't feature them much at all... a bond that didn't get super developed on screen ... I dunno. Left me wishing we got more from them through the season.
I do know we'll see more of Ruby next season, so I'm excited for that. an s4 Martha situation. but then I also worry about Varada Sethu's character getting development time too...
the not so good:
killing off rose, kate, etc in the first minute removes stakes, because while you might worry about characters like cherry or carla who won't necessarily stick around when ruby leaves or whose deaths will impact ruby, you know rose and kate are not going to stay dead permanently. also very infinity war (derogatory) where there was the same issue -- no these characters won't stay dead and i'm not going to humour it lol
rose temple sweetie it was nice to see you stand in the background and not speak. what was that about. she FINALLY got all of two lines. it just felt like she didn't serve a lot of purpose in this ep. I mean I liked seeing her but she did not do anything to the story in either part of the ep
the solution of "death kills death" was a bit goofy lol but it's doctor who the solution is always goofy. i didn't care too much about that i guess. but it was goofy
i really think we could've used a more decisive scene with carla and ruby. carla seems to understand ruby's desire to know her bio fam and be supportive of it and that's lovely. obviously ruby loves carla and vice versa. but i think it would've been nice to have a moment of on-screen explicit acknowledgment between carla and ruby that there might be weird feelings there, that louise isn't replacing carla, something like that.
related to the above, the Doctor says Ruby redefined the way he thinks of family, which is a huge thing to say, but I don't feel like I ever saw that happening on screen. it COULD have. all the pieces are there with foundlings and foster care and adoption...

every day that passes we're getting closer and closer to the final episodes of doctor who s14 (or s1, whatever) (i'm also in denial WTH does it mean that this season is almost over ????)
so before i forget (and before the last two episodes drop) i NEED to vent a bit about this season. the following are just my personal opinions (which might change after watching the season finale), please bear with me ^^
first of all - i am so glad doctor who is back !!! i must admit that my doctor who drought lasted for around 5 months as i got introduced to the show back in late summer 2023 and did a speed run of all nuwho seasons between september and november 2023. i got super excited for the december specials !! and i was even more surprised and thrilled when i found out a new season of dw was premiering in may 2024 !! i know i've been lucky to wait for so little to get immersed in a new dw season but i truly, truly missed it and i enjoyed every episode of s14 <3 now i'm sad to think that this is about to end, but it felt so good to finally see the doctor back in action and to get through each week thinking that one of my favorite characters/storylines/universes was gonna be there for me on the weekend <3 i love dw so much <3
#2 idk about you but i fell so easily for ncuti as the doctor and millie as ruby/the companion TT they're both so good, i really appreciated their acting this season and i would also say that it's probably one the (few) things that positively shocked me this time around. i guess it was a bit unfair for me to think that ruby wasn't my cup of tea after watching just 'the church on ruby road' ep because she totally surprised me this season. she's so great! millie's acting is on point, so captivating and funny to watch throughout the show. i can't wait to find out more about her character fr! well, what's to say about ncuti as the doctor .. ohmy oh my .. i don't think i've ever seen a doctor so confident, so flirtatious, so proud in themselves .. ncuti's doctor exudes charisma and i'm so here for it. that's absolutely not to say that the doctor's worries, traums etc. magically disappear (they're still very present and influence their every move), but what i loved the most about his acting is that he goes all the way into it. fifteen may become one of my favorite doctors ngl (say hi to eleven and ten) and i am so looking forward to where they're gonna take us next <3
#3 as for writing, i feel that something's missing ... don't get me wrong, i love rtd's cool nice funny episodes and seeing the doctor face a range of diverse situations (even the most unthinkable ones, e.g. space babies) is just priceless.. but there's some kind of void in it, too. now that i think about it, maybe it's not the writing itself but the length of the season - having less than 10 episodes doesn't really give us much time and space to properly explore the dynamics between characters, strengthen their relationships and make them grow both individually and as a whole. besides, i admit that i'm a bit biased, but i loved (most of) moffat's writing for the seasons he was a showrunner of and i personally would love to see ncuti bringing to life more stories written by moffat (yes..i know he wrote 'boom' for s14). basically, i miss 'old' nuwho seasons of 18+ episodes where we could get even more affectionate to the characters and the adventures that defined their journey through the multiverse T___T
before i move on to my last point, may i also add (storyline-wise) that i wished the episodes were more interconnected with each other? not necessarily with the narration, even just with easter eggs ^^" idk maybe moffat got me used to have high expectations lol (i'm still eager to find out who the lady appearing in all episodes is !!!! may this dw finale give us all the answers we need)
#4 i would have never thought i would write this (mainly because i would have never thought there could come a time when these gadget weren't going to be used as much) BUT I DEARLY MISS THE TARDIS AND THE SCREWDRIVER WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM ?!?!?! i loved previous doctors goofing around with their sonic screwdrivers and running in the tardis allowing us (the audience) to find out more and more about the endless number of rooms in it ... why does it seem like fourteen doesn't love their tools ?? why don't they show them more throughout the season ?? this is like classic items that can't miss in the episodes so WERE IS THAT SILLY GOOFY STUFF ?? also, as much as i enjoy fourteen and ruby going on adventures in different time periods etc. why aren't they EVER showed inside the TARDIS travelling and waiting to get to their destination ?? i'm just very nostalgic (i took this very personally, i'm sorry i'm just angry at rtd)
well - i guess that's it! if you've read this far, thank you for reading me <3 let me know what you think about it and what you're expecting for the next couple episodes of s14 <3
ps. i'm very hopeful that rogue will be a recurring character <3
pps. ncuti gave the queers the most fruity doctor ever (no shade to all previous doctors, you've served and delivered and we love u immensiely) <33

.·͙̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥̩̩̥͙ Roommate!Mikey Headcanons ̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥̩̩͙‧͙ .
- michael, being older, didn't necessarily need a roommate
- but he felt like it might be a bit more enjoyable to live with someone else, especially in a foreign city like london, where he was relocated for the label
- but everyone in the band already had someone staying with them and he wasn't famous enough yet to the point where living with a stranger was off-limits
- so he started hunting for one
- it took about a week of searching until he stumbled across someone on tumblr who'd been talking about needing a roommate in the area of london he needed
- that person was you
- at that point, he felt like he had no luck elsewhere, so he immediately messaged the blog and when he got an answer, he was relieved to find the spot hadn't been filled.
- but he didn't know who he was rooming with, and knowing this wouldn't be smart, he scrolled through your tumblr
- "shit, she's hot.." he muttered to himself as he clicked on some of the photos to enlarge them.
- he had not a doubt in his mind he was making the right decision in moving in.
- you, of course, didn't exactly put all your faith into a random tumblr user called "cliffoconda"
- so you set up a meeting at a shopping center
- he suggested you meet outside the CEX, a game store on the second floor
- "how will i know who you are?" "look for the highlighter hair." "...huh?" - when you arrived at the store, awkwardly staring down at your phone as you tried to act busy, you immediately spotted the red hair.
- so that's what he meant. - fighting embarrassment in front of so many people, who had much better things to do than watch you, you stepped in front of the boy and introduced yourself.
- "hi, are you michael?... i'm y/n!" "yeah, it's nice to meet you!..."
- he had a cheeky smile and a playful air to him which you didn't anticipate based on his appearance, and after a bit of perusing around the shop and listening to him talk about his hobbies and himself and why he was searching for an apartment, you were settled on the idea that Michael would be your new roommate.
.·:·.✧ Living with him! ✧.·:·.
- he's not the cleanest guy
- he tries for sure, but it bugs you a great deal
- you were kinda introverted to begin with, so when it turned out that he didn't like going outside and didn't enjoy too much socializing either, it was a sweet relief
- your electricity bill is through the roof, though
- he teaches you how to play all of his favorite games and expects you to do the same— it's how he bonds
- he's an extroverted introvert, though!
- he screams. he shouts. he yells.
- everything is dramatic, but hey, that makes for a pretty good gossip partner.
- "so my friend broke up with her boyfriend today and not even two hours after— she posted THIS with his BROTHER." "oh my fucking god, wait lemme see..."
- and he's got a surprisingly great memory, so he'll bring up the past drama you told him about when that same person is mentioned again
- he's guilty of bringing people home— especially fans, i fear
- but you and him have this deal between each other that if the other person is being obnoxiously loud or disrupting something important, you can humiliate them
- you were being kept up with the sound of his headboard banging against the wall and the obnoxious noises of some girl he took home only to relieve stress when you finally broke. "michael, how's the wart on your ass doing?! has the doctor fixed it yet?!" the sound of silence fell immediately over the apartment until you heard him chuckling as he shouted back, "it's doin' better! doc says it should be gone by february!" and you know for a fact that girl is completely uninterested now.
- that's not to say that he doesn't do the same for you.
- in the middle of your alone time with your partner, you both were interrupted by the sound of very loud— very fake moans from his room. "y/n! Y/N! Oh my god!—" "We get it!!"
- he's suggested getting a pet but you both can't keep an animal alive
- so he gets a furby named Blue
- he's very serious about it.
- "y/n, did you feed him today?" "uhm.. i think so!" "you think— what do you mean, 'you think?' are you trying to starve our son?!"
- he brings the boys over all the time but is super respectful about when you need alone time to study or work
- he also makes sure to buy you snacks and drinks as a way to repay you for all the inappropriate jokes you'll overhear
- "sorry you had to see calum dry-humping me, that wasn't very cool." "i don't even like this flavor." "i don't like calum pretending to fuck me, but he did. take the candy." "ooookay." (inspired by calum being a freak on the twitcams)
- he's very sweet though
- he's very lazy too
- he hates the idea of chores, but bribing him with a new game, stealing his guitar, or even holding Blue hostage will give him motivation.
- "woah, woah, woah, put the furby down and no one gets hurt!" "do the dishes." "but—" "do... the dishes." "you monster..." "you think i wanna hurt my son? you made me do this."
- the neighbors think you guys are married with kids.
- he's got a touchy habit.
- if you're on the couch, so is he and he's laying on you.
- you're bending over to grab something off the floor? he's smacked your ass.
- he's not safe either, though. you cuddle him while he plays video games or when he's playing guitar
- it isn't until one day when you're comforting him after he's having a low day, rubbing his back on the bathroom floor as he just cries, his depression affecting him more than normal, when he makes the call to ash saying that he can't imagine spending his life with anyone else but you.

Over time, I've gotten some questions about how my Biotech Station mod differs from simler90's. To make answering easier in the future, I finally attempted to write all the changes down.
But a disclaimer that it's been two years since I worked with that mod, so I'm very likely forgetting something.
Sims can't catch the mysterious disease from making medicine with my version
I added the practice interaction
I added the interactions for making medicine/virus in bulk
I made it so that the medicine/virus made on a business lot goes into the business owner's inventory
I made failed attempts to add an empty bottle to the inventory (as a junk penalty, similar to what fishing produces)
I stopped children from being able to make medicine on their own
I lowered the skilling speed of the object
I added the missing object anim to making medicine
I changed the vial to a medicine bottle and made it sit on the ground level (after animations too)
I greatly lowered the relationship requirement for giving medicine, as I wanted to have it possible for a doctor to give it to a patient after a few successful interactions (simler90 has the requirement as 50 STR, I have it as 10 STR)
I made the requirements for successfully giving virus more straightforward by removing the logic & charisma skill check that simler90 has included and raised the LTR requirement instead
I turned giving virus always causing a relationship hit (simler90 has it giving a boost when accepted)
I stopped it from being possible to give virus to children
With simler90's version, sims might get busted by the police if they make virus. I wanted it to be possible to have a setting where viruses are legally made for research purposes, so I removed that
I made it impossible to sell viruses in OFB businesses as that should be illegal, but I allowed selling them for profit in buy mode so that sims can still get money from 'researching' them (simler90 has virus priced at §0)
In update 3 of their mod simler90 made it so that if giving medicine/virus is refused, the medicine/virus gets moved into the giver's inventory, even though it's not usable from the inventory. I changed it back so that the giver will find a surface to place the bottle back onto, so that it can be given again without first replacing it from the inventory
I changed the original Eaxis formula (which simler90 uses) for making medicine/virus: originally, it had the sim's niceness points as one factor for determining how potent the outcome will be. It didn't make much sense to me, so I took that away. During testing, we also noticed that the sim's logic skill level only had a small impact so I made that weight more instead
I completely rewrote how medicine works: instead of always lowering disease severity, my medicine is capable of insta-curing certain diseases, depending on how potent the medicine is. This required a lot of new code as simler90's version doesn't have a cure code of its own but relies on the game's general disease progressing code (and for that reason there's always a delay before the sim gets cured with simler90's version)
I added pop-up messages showing if the sim got cured or not
I also completely rewrote how virus works: simler90 has it so that the disease virus gives is always the mysterious disease (=a disease of which symptoms and other qualities have been randomized). I made the less potent virus to give either food poisoning, a cold, or the flu instead, and only the potent version to infect the mysterious disease
simler90 has relationship checks for giving medicine/virus interaction to even appear, and an additional mood check for the sim to be able to take virus themselves. I removed all of that
And probably more, but I think that covers most of it.

WIP WEDNESDAY
Yes I'm actually doing this on a Wednesday wooo :D
I just went back through all my tags of the last month and man, you guys ;__; <3 I'm not good at keeping up with tumblr atm and I don't have something to share every week, so I think once a month a WIP Wednesday might be a good compromise XD Thank you for all the tags!!
@theviridianbunny @dreamskug @ouroboros-hideout @lokiina @therealnightcity @chevvy-yates tagging you all right back!
So, with that off of my list of works in progress, as is answering all the tag games and quizzes, some projects I'm working on atm:
Writing: Love is stored in the olive jar (WT) - Chapter 13
It's done, but still needs a lot of editing, as it got very heavy on dialogue in the end and I want it all to flow more nicely and make it a bit more scenic XD Too many instances of "she looked up again" or "he paused for a moment/second" xD But I'm getting there! Here's a snippet from the already somewhat polished beginning:
“Alright,” Fuentes said as she finally caught her breath again, “I suggest we cut straight to the chase.” “Yes,” V nodded, “Thank you again for taking the time.” “Of course,” Fuentes nodded, “I have to admit, I have been thinking about you and your case a lot these past days. Even with the limited knowledge I have so far, I still believe I may be able to help. If you are willing now to tell me more about your condition now, of course.” ‘Willing’ wasn’t the word V would use, it was more a necessity at this point. “I will,” he said, “But only if you can provide me with a certain level of security.” Fuentes shifted in her chair slightly and frowned, then she opened one of the drawers of her desk and pulled out a tablet. She turned it on and began to search for something on it while maintaining eye contact with V as best as she managed. “You’ve come here today as my patient. As far as I’m concerned, everything, anything that we discuss, falls under the doctor-patient confidentiality. My contract with the Little China MedCenter binds me to treat your data and information with utmost care and discretion. All data we store is locked away securely, all in accordance with your Trauma Team policy. I can resend you the patient information papers and contracts, although I think most of them you should already have…” “I care less about the MedCenter than about what you personally do with the information I’m going to give you,” V said, and Fuentes stopped her search, narrowing her eyes slightly. “I’m not sure what you’re alluding to,” she said, still polite, but significantly more tense than before. “Nothing,” V shook his head carefully, “This is just not something I tell random strangers on the street… no offense, of course. If I have to play with open cards, I need you to as well.”
In which Vince hates doctors but has to trust one now, boo XD
Writing: Some drabbles :3
Inbetween the longfic I still have some ask prompt drabbles to fill that I'm looking forward to tackling soon! And in a sudden burst of inspiration I wrote out a long although not very serious convo between Vince and Johnny the other day xD I'd love to turn it into a (VP) comic maybe, but I'm not sure yet XD
Art: Nothing new since last time, slowly chipping away at some bigger projects inbetween
VP: Currently no concrete plans for a bigger project
Although I wanna do more "days in the life" for Vince!! And I wanna play around more with some poses though and have a very soft set to share that I gotta edit a bit still ;_; Tomorrow probably!
Also, I'd like to turn the interface thingies from my recent "V as NPC" projects into shareable templates, that is also on my wip/ to-do list! Just wanna gather some in-game reference shots first :D
Modding: 👀👀👀
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm working on a little something maybe, and I'm so excited :DDD Just gotta relearn how to do Archive XL, it's been half a year xD And I fought MLSetup Builder so fucking hard, but now I know how to edit MLMask Setups, so that's a victory at least XD And I have a base for a very kitschy coat :3
But yes, so much to that so far! See you again in a month or so probably with an ever-growing pile of wips xD But maybe some more writing, maybe some more art, and maybe a finished mod after too long 👀

NSB (Straud Legacy) Gen 9 Ep 102: Happy to Report
After Love Day Noemi entered her third and final trimester and couple returned to Dr. Valasquez’s office for their last therapy session.
Seeing the comfortable maternity ensemble Noemi was wearing and the pair’s attitude of relaxed intimacy filled their therapist with joy and a sense of accomplishment. It looked like some of her advice might have born fruit. She smiled, starting the session with a leading observation.
“The two of you look very happy today.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luigi, unable to contain his excitement, kicked things off, exclaiming “we’re getting married!”.
As Noemi shyly held up her hand to show off the ring, he outlined for their therapist the lovely Love Day date his family had orchestrated for them and how after getting engaged he’d finally come to terms with the pregnancy and the new life it represented.
Dr. Velasquez offered congratulations. “I’m so happy for you both. That attitude seems very healthy and will set you up nicely for the birth.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She next turned to Noemi, who was trying to readjust herself into a more comfortable position on the small sofa.
“You look wonderful. Has the new wardrobe helped you feel better about your pregnant body?”
Noemi sighed. “After a lifetime spent eating healthy and exercising to keep in shape, seeing myself so thick and round in the mirror is still not fun. Lu helps a lot though. He’s always telling me I’m beautiful and desirable, and very good about proving his words through action!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Another thing that helped a lot,” She continued, “was hearing that the baby was doing great at my last prenatal appointment. I might not love my new curves, but the most important thing is that my body is doing what it needs to do to nurture my little boy.”
“I could certainly do without the back pain I’ve been having, even if Lu’s a real sport about applying the kinesiology tape the midwife group told us to try.” He jumped in with a grin: “It’s fun. Artsy sort of. I bought extra because that stuff has some even more fun uses in the bedroom.”
Noemi chuckled. “And it’s handy in the robot lab too. Pretty much the only thing I can’t use it for is its original purpose, until I can return to the gym.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dr. Velasquez said that was all good to hear, though she cautioned Noemi to work her way back into an exercise routine slowly.
“It will take time for your body to heal and bounce back after birth. For now, you could always get out for a nice walk, if it feels good. With summer right around the corner the weather should be perfect for relaxing strolls around the city.”
She turned back to Luigi “It sounds like you’ve been making good progress on helping and learning to put your loved ones first, do you agree?”
“As much as I can,” he admitted, “although I’m still focused on my finals and the big game. It does feel surprisingly great to take care of Noemi.” He reached over and squeezed her hand, wondering if the secret to Papa Jack’s dedication was his focus on enjoying the happiness of others.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Luigi’s comment about finals led to a discussion of graduation and preparations for the little person that would be joining them shortly thereafter.
The couple told the doctor that they’d picked a name for their son and begun planning for his nursey but hadn’t set anything up yet.
They planned to be settled in Sulani before he was born, and getting ready for finals was taking up most of their spare time these days. After graduation they’d have time to get their ducks in a row, as neither of them intended to start work until after the baby was born.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Wait, you haven’t nailed down any of the logistics of your actual move yet?” Dr. Velasquez asked.
The sheepish look they both gave answered the question. “We wanted to, but we’ve been too busy to figure out the details.”
“I suggest you start lining up support for your move now.” the therapist said “Noemi will be in the home stretch at that point and not in a position to help as much as she might like. You’ll want to be ready for when the baby arrives, and you have a whole new set of circumstances to adjust to.”
“Your future selves will thank you for every bit of planning you do now.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With a glance at the clock the doctor continued “It looks like our final session is wrapping up, but please remember that I’m always available if you need to talk through anything in your new life as parents, professionals, and beachside homeowners.”
Luigi helped Noemi to her feet and they both thanked Dr. Velasquez for everything. This unexpected pregnancy had presented them with its fair share of challenges but working through their feelings and concerns with the help of a professional had made a huge difference.
They left her office that day nervous but excited for the future.

I’d love to see e in littlespace going to the doctor or cg!e taking us to the doctor? ❤️
haven't written cg!elvis in a hot minute!! enjoy <3
warnings: needles, getting a shot
wc: 940
masterlist
you hated the doctor. you also hated needles. but now here you are, preparing yourself to get poked by the doctor. you stood there, hand tightly secured on the rail of the steps in the foyer, refusing to let go as elvis tried to get you to leave.
“please, please, please, don’t make me go. don’t wanna go, daddy. please.” you begged.
elvis sighed, his hand wrapped around your arm, tugging in an attempt to get you off the steps. “baby, i know ya don’t wanna go. but it’s better to get it over with, isn’t it? you won’t have to get shots for a long while after this.”
shaking your head, you still refused to move.
“you’re not bein’ very nice right now.” he said sternly, finally letting go of your arm. his hands rested on his hips as he gave you a stern look. “we either go up there now or you ain’t goin’ anywhere till you get your shots done.”
“but daddy-”
“no.” he cut you off. “i mean it.”
you admitted defeat and sighed, finally letting go of the railing as elvis opened the door. “stop bein’ all mopey, baby. it’ll be over before you know it.”
once you arrived to the office, elvis checked you in and you got sent to a room. elvis sat there in front of you as you sat on the hard, examination bed. you kicked your feet back and forth as you anxiously awaited. elvis rubbed your knee reassuringly, “gonna be just fine, darlin’. promise.”
“you promise?” you asked, voice heavy with worry.
he chuckled. “yes baby, i promise.” he stood up and kissed the top of your head. “y’know what, i might have somethin’ that’ll help ya. give daddy just a second, he’ll be real quick.” before you could beg him to not leave, he rushed out of the room and returned a few minutes later with one of your plushies, holding it up in front of his face. “i heard someone needs a lil’ lovin’!” he said in a different voice before handing it off to you, smiling as you hugged it tightly.
the doctor came in shortly, greeting the both of you and starting a conversation as she prepared you to finally get poked. elvis was more engrossed in the conversation than you, talking about his music and whatnot. you were too focused on the needle in her hand, gulping as it inched closer to your arm. you wanted to cry, scream or even just run out of the room, but you held it all in for elvis. you had to be strong and keep it together.
“and who might this be?” she asked, pointing at the plushie.
“oh.” you looked down. “i-”
“-bought it for ‘em as a gift ages ago, thought they could use some comforting.” elvis answered. “i mean, who likes needles, right? hell, i gotta hold someone's hand when i get stabbed too.” he took your hand and gave it a soft squeeze as he gave you a soft smile.
you nodded as your doctor let out a small laugh, “very true.” she lifted up your sleeve and crouched down, bringing the needle to your arm. “alright, this is gonna be real quick. you’ll barely feel it.” you held your breath and squeezed elvis’s hand tight as it made contact with your arm. it hurt. she lied when she said you’d barely feel it. there were tears ready to start pouring as she put a band-aid over the area. “all done!”
“see? told ya it’d be real quick.” he kissed your cheek and grinned.
“now, these are usually just for the kids but eh,” she pulled out a small cup of lollipops, holding it out for you. “or do you want a sticker instead?”
elvis snickered, “c’mon, can’t they get both?” he joked. “promise i won’t tell a soul!”
she raised an eyebrow, opening a drawer and letting you pick out a sticker from her basket. “oh, good choice!” she placed the basket back and held out the cup of lollipops, letting you pick out a cherry-flavored one and muttering thank you. you unwrapped it and shoved it in your mouth as you pet the small plushie in your lab while elvis spoke to the doctor about side effects, warning you may not feel too great for the rest of the day.
you were quiet on the way home, arms crossed with a pout on your face. he glanced over at you a few times, slightly worried about the sudden silence from you. he thought you’d be happy to get it over with, maybe you were starting to not feel great. “what’s the matter, baby?”
the cherry flavor in your mouth was a reminder of your problem, letting out a huff. “daddy let me get stabbed ‘n all i got was this lousy sticker ‘n this lousy sucker.” you complained.
he rolled his eyes, relieved you were just mad about getting a shot. “don’t be so dramatic!” he pulled into graceland and parked out front, taking the key out. “look, how ‘bout this? we’ll get you inside and changed, get all cozy and we can just get on the couch and cuddle up for the rest of the day, that good enough for ya?”
“i want another stuffie.”
“okay, deal.” he nodded.
“‘n you can’t touch my arm. hurts.” you mumbled.
he let out a small laugh, “okay, i won't touch your arm either. are we good now?”
you sighed and got out of the car, elvis taking that as a yes and following you in shortly for your night full of cuddles.

A year ago today I went to see my doctor, hoping to get some answers (and treatment) for my increasingly severe respiratory issues. She ruled out asthma and sent me to the ER to get some tests done. Little did I know I'd end up hospitalized for 3.5 weeks.
(This is going to be long, sorry.)
They tested me for Covid and allergies, and when those came back negative they did a CT scan, and that was when they saw I probably had some type of lymphoma. They did not tell me this right away, just that there was a lot of fluid build-up around my lungs, among other things. Getting that drained was Not Fun (I almost passed out). I was admitted to the hospital proper after that, and spent 10 days in the Pneumology ward hooked up to O2 and getting the pleural effusion drained every few days while waiting on an official diagnosis. They did tell me on day 2 that they'd found what might be tumor and needed to do a biopsy to confirm, so when the diagnosis turned out to be Hodgkins lymphoma I was not completely surprised, but it still felt unreal. (Mind you, when the hospital psychologist came in with the doctor to break the news, I had a feeling it wasn't going to be good.)
The doctor was quick to reassure me that my prognosis was good, but there was clearly no time to lose since I was promptly transferred to Lyon to start chemo. I got my first helicopter ride out of the deal: they were concerned about potential traffic jams on the highway and didn't want to risk it while I was still on oxygen. My best friend's response when I messaged her to tell her this was to suggest I hum the Mission: Impossible theme while in the air. I didn't, but the crew found her suggestion hilarious. 😂
I made it to Lyon without incident, and my parents arrived shortly after I did (traffic was fine after all) to find that I was already something of a celebrity: apparently they don't get many patients come in by helicopter. Upon learning this, Best Friend's sister requested my autograph. (There's a reason I'm good friends with this family.) 😆
The next day was a blur of procedures, culminating in getting hooked up to my first round of chemo that evening. I was a little concerned about potential nausea, but thankfully the anti-nausea meds they gave me beforehand worked beautifully. I was still exhausted afterwards, though. That would be my default state for the next few months.
A few days in, it was determined that poking a new hole in me every 3-4 days to drain the pleural effusion was highly impractical, especially since it was going to take a while to go away, so I got a drainage tube put in. It was Supremely Uncomfortable (I was on morphine for several days), but within a few hours they were finally able to take me off oxygen! Being able to breathe normally never felt so good.
I got to go home in between rounds of chemo, which was very nice, even if I wasn't back in my own room (I had twice-daily nurse visits and it was easier for me to be in the guest room downstairs).
Going back for the second round was definitely different: no helicopter, I was able to walk in, and I knew what to expect this time - well, mostly. I didn't anticipate having to stay a couple of extra days because getting a new Picc line put in proved challenging. It's always something, isn't it? 😅
Thankfully that was the last time I had to stay at the hospital for more than a few hours: the PET scan I got a few weeks later showed that I was in remission, and I was able to do the rest of my chemo as an outpatient at my local hospital. Aside from two sessions getting postponed due to illness/low white blood cell count, that all went smoothly and I had my final session in January.
Early February I got another PET scan which confirmed that I was in complete remission, at which point I could focus on recovery. This is definitely going to be the longest part; I was told it can take up to 2 years to get back to normal. The fact that I'm already back at work, albeit part-time, is pretty good, all things considered.
So, how did all this affect me emotionally? The first few days in the hospital were probably the hardest, because something was obviously very wrong, but I didn't know what. In spite of that, I had a sense of peace and that God was in control (the song The Goodness of God was stuck in my head for days). That peace persisted even with the diagnosis, which is definitely a miracle because I'm generally prone to anxiety and jumping to the worst-case scenario. Instead, my reaction was, "Welp, this is gonna suck, but I'm going to make it." It helped that I had lots of people praying for me.
Even so, there were some rough moments. Losing my hair a few weeks in was especially difficult. I knew it was going to grow back, but I think that was when everything really started to sink in. Having to cancel my travel plans for the fall was another hard pill to swallow. Not being able to go to church was probably the hardest.
How am I doing now? Well, I'm still processing everything (hence this post), and likely will be for some time. It still feels a little unreal to tell people I had cancer. It's not one of those things you ever think you'll have to deal with, at least I didn't think I would. But here we are. I will say the fact that I'm starting to really process it all now is a good sign since it means my brain is no longer in survival mode. Hopefully that will continue.
I could go on, but this is already very long (kudos to you if you made it this far) and it's late, so for now I'll just say I'm grateful to still be here. Oh, and if you start having weird symptoms, don't wait to see a doctor.

This is our 7th weekly smiles!!!
What made me smile this week?
Monday, 9/9/24 - today I woke up around 6:40 Am I soon went on the bus and enjoyed the nice ride to school! During the first period, I worked on an orthopedics in action worksheet and got the news that Mrs. Cox might be out for a while! So that was fun! And then I chilled and sent some emails to Mrs Lawson about printing! In the second period, we tried to work on this worksheet, but it was very difficult, so we just worked on notes! So those weren't that bad for the rest of the class. I chilled and found out that Stuffy and Donny got married 💍🥹!! So happy for them both! They had a fun time putting so much stuff on their stories! Then, in the third period, we worked on eyewitness practice There was one activity we had to do, which involved a person's head on a black card, and I had to be the sketcher. My partner had to describe to me the person, and I had to draw it. I got our group pretty accurate! And we just had a fun time talking about that. Then, in the fourth period, we talked about values, morals, and morality development. We took notes and watched a video on that subject. During explaining it, we had a fire drill and headed out of the building for a few. We soon came back inside and mainly just did notes and a tiny activity before the end of class, and then the day ended! We went on the bus just mere seconds before something bad happened a freshman came up to my bus window and banged on the window with both his hands and I jumped because I mean who wouldn't get scared he looked at me and pointed and went HAHAHA the annoying typical laugh of someone who's acting dumb so that's not fun but we did enjoy the bus ride home and the fact that Donny and stuffy showed and talked about the same Facebook post! That they happened to land on! Then, at home, we did dishes but had some yummy tacos. We practically spent the whole night scoring a ridiculously high score! Of 41 million! It was insane but we were so exhausted after it we almost immediately fell asleep! Today was exhausting but so rewarding and it made me smile!
Tuesday, 9/10/24 - today woke up at 6:40, but I slept until 6:45 Am and started chemo around that time. I'm on my 43rd round of chemotherapy! So I'm almost done, but I also just got the news that my chemo had gotten worse, and I need 90 rounds of chemotherapy! Because I had gotten Donny's cancer, I had bone cancer, but it had gotten worse, and it turned into Donny's type of cancer. So that's always fun. I will still be on the 4-day chemotherapy rounds, but it might turn into 100 rounds quickly! So that's even more fun but I will get through this! But my doctors most likely said that they'd put it up to 100 rounds of chemotherapy! So everything checks out and nothing goes wrong this will be an even longer battle than I thought! But I'll get through it! But currently, I'm texting my friends about it, and they're reacting in anger but also in support! I love them ❤️🥹! Currently, I'm working on building a long-bone femur! So we'll see how that goes, but In the morning, we rode on the bus and went to our homeroom, listened to the Say Something video, and then did the panorama survey! And then I just chilled in the first period. I've been working on more writing, and I'm currently working on a femur, and now I just see a text that my friend is having a panic attack. Thankfully, my friend is ok, and I ended up getting some of the parts of the femur built! Then, in the second period, we went through a whole class period where Mrs. Bressler explained all the math, and we were able to get the answers! Which was good! And we just basically worked on that the whole class and then in third we worked on a couple of papers and watched a case of a person who was wrongfully accused r@pe he spent 11 years in prison and finally got out when he was 33 which was horrible but he was filled with grace and apologized to the women but I don't blame her either because eyewitnesses don't always get everything correct and two of the people looked very similar. After that, in the fourth period, we worked on some notes and watched some videos! At home, we chilled and just did average chores. Today made me smile!
Wednesday, 9/11/24 - today, I chilled on the bus and went to the first period, in which I worked on my femur or bone that we had to build and ended up getting it done! Woohoo! It looked very good, considering I had so much difficulty with it, lol, but I am happy to finally get it done. Then, in the second period, we had two tests. On the first one, I got an 80 or 85, and then on the second one, I got 75 so pretty good grades for me! For the rest of the class, I worked on some notes and got them halfway completed before lunch. Then, in the fourth period, we worked on the rest of our notes and then watched some videos, and in the last 10 minutes of class, we watched some inside out! (Movie) It was funny and cute in those 10 minutes, then we went home and sadly had to do several dishes! For two or 1 hour, we only got to relax for 30 minutes, but later that afternoon, we got some leftover Chick-fil-A fries from Mom! They were yummy! And it served as a good treat afterward! Then we hung out for the rest of the day and went to bed knowing we had a day off!
Thursday, 9/12/24 - today, we have a day off since we have another doctor's appointment! LOL, we never get a break, but in the morning, we mainly chilled, laughed, and played Subway Surfers! Then we chilled until our doctor's appointment at 4:00 p.m. Thankfully, it was only a quick shot, and it was nothing big! We got it over with, but sadly, it made our arm super sore that night! During the drive home, we stopped at Ready Mart and got a new flavor of Dr pepper! It was another Dr pepper flavor we had never tried before! It was all right, not the best flavor in my opinion. For me, it had too much coconut, but I enjoyed it nonetheless! And it made me smile! That night I started writing another SCI post for the 14th!
Friday, 9/13/24 - today we go back to school! We enjoyed our day off but it's time to get to work again lol in the morning before first period I dropped off my note to the office and explained to her I was out for the full day and that I had a note then in the first period I completed a tiny worksheet that we had and completed the rest of my other papers that week! Then during first period, Mrs. Lawson came in and gave me my printings! Yay! They finally came! Sadly, they looked a tiny bit small and were a tiny bit small, but we're trying to get used to them. We might ask for her to print Donny just a tad bit bigger! But we were grateful she printed those images! For us! Then in the second period, we took a quiz and I got a 50 on it not my best grade 😅 sadly after that test it got rid of everything on my computer which I don't know how that happened but I got used to it and it didn't ruin my day later in third period we took another quiz and I got a 95 on it so way better than chemistry 🧪! Then, in the fourth period, we watched the rest of the inside-out movie, which was quite little, but that was ok! Then we worked on our inside-out essay, and then we had a surprise pep rally 30 minutes before class ended! We had a pretty fun time watching the cheerleaders and band do their best work! It was great to have 30 minutes off of class and get to celebrate the football team! In preparation for their big game! May the best win then after that it was raining on our way to the bus! We sprinted/strolled so fast! And then we enjoyed a chill afternoon at home and it made me smile!
Saturday, 9/14/24 - today, I had my 44th round of chemotherapy, and I started it pretty late. Oops 😂! But I got my video edited and scheduled in the morning! So, being semi-productive made me smile! Then I finished the rest of my SCI awareness post for this week! And posted it to Tumblr and the community tab on YouTube! If you have time please give it a read! Then we chilled and watched Instagram for a while! And then watched some special books by special kids videos! And then we played Subway Surfers, in which stuffy got a jackpot! Whoo hoo! That definitely made us smile. Later that night, we chilled and played some trainer stealing game, and then we went to bed, but apparently, I was a bed for everyone, LOL! I had my wife, my friend Emmie, and my friend Doc on me, which resulted in a pretty okay night's sleep, LOL! But it was funny, and It made me laugh before ending the night. It made me smile!
Sunday, 9/15/24 - today I woke up around 7:20 Am and just chilled on Instagram reels! Then we hung out for a few, did a workout, and then we did dishes for a bit, and then had yummy potato soup! With red chili pepper flakes! It wasn't bad then we mainly chilled for most of the day and currently we're watching JJ time and drinking yummy soda :) We had a fun day, but a short day today this week made me smile. Now, the most important Question?!

alright first impressions of the giggle
i'll start off with the big one which is that despite my best efforts to avoid spoilers, people always think they're cleverer than they are when communicating "in code" about leaks, and misc. pieces of info had led me to a general impression that somehow, some way, there would still be a david tennant doctor left at the end of this. so i went in half-expecting it (and half trying to manage those expectations)
it's totally bonkers and i know it must be enraging at least half of the fandom but i am in the privileged position of ... not caring. lol. it's probably a combination of factors -- he's my fave anyway + i haven't been deeply invested for the past decade + there's been numerous big lore changes i haven't liked by this point so whatever! everything's made up and the points don't matter. this show would've ended already if it wasn't constantly doing some weird thing to upset the status quo. the main criticism i can agree with is that maybe this takes away from ncuti gatwa ... but honestly i do see the appeal of "multi-doctor ep except one of them is the new guy". like that was fun actually, even if it had never occurred to me
settling down with the nobles felt like journey's end 2.0 (now with bonus TARDIS), and raises a lot of questions that i can imagine showrunners down the line and/or Big Finish are dying to answer. there is probably a time that would've bugged me but it doesn't bug me now.
anyway with that out of the way, other stuff!
i was worried this might be too big and chaotic in the way RTD finales can get -- think end of time, specifically. so i was actually pretty impressed that it felt fairly coherent to me lol, while feeling very RTD
"screens are making humans the worst versions of themselves" is also very RTD. hard to argue w that in 2023 to be honest with you
i don't know the toymaker from classic who but i enjoyed him a lot here as a villain. felt a bit like the master, except unlike the master there's no affinity between him and the doctor, y'know. it felt sinister, the misc accents, everything.
last week i watched Last of the Time Lords again and said "i can't wait to see what RTD does with licensed music again" and lo! lmaoooo. loved it
i think a consequence of the ep having to do so much was that the companions' roles were fairly limited. when donna said "maybe i'll save your life" i assumed she uh ... would. and then i assumed something metacrisis-y. but I suppose Donna's save the world moment was Star Beast.
likewise, it was nice to have Mel there, but she didn't do a ton. however i know we get to see more of her next season so I'm kinda fine with it. and looking forward to it!
anyway the other big important thing this episode -- NCUTI GATWA omg. he's gonna be so good. was so good in these scenes. magnetic. sexy. fun. can't wait. loved that we got to see him interact with donna a bit too!! i wasn't really expecting that.

PyroMedic Week Day 1: Doves
Shipweek hosted by yours truly!
~
Medic, as a doctor and someone who didn’t always have the healthiest relationship with sleep, knew well the signs of sleep deprivation. The lethargy and lowering of motor functions, eventually culminating in the body deciding it had had enough and just putting itself to sleep regardless of what else was going on. Including in the middle of the battlefield, the worst place for such a thing to occur. And so…
“Are you sure you’re getting enough sleep?” he asked again.
Pyro nodded, this time without any hesitation. It would’ve been nice to be able to examine him properly, see how bloodshot his eyes were and how deep the bags were under them. The suit and mask made that impossible though.
“Then what’s wrong?” Because clearly something was. The past few days Pyro had been acting off and not performing as well in battle. Medic had brought it up but Pyro had brushed it off, saying he was fine. So Medic had figured that perhaps he was just having an off couple of days and would be back to normal again soon.
But then today he’d fallen asleep when left to guard the sentry nest. Something he was normally very diligent about, so much so he was the only one trusted to do so by himself. He’d even supposedly slept through the enemy Spy sapping everything, a difficult feat given how loud the sappers were.
Everyone’s first instinct had been to be mad, especially since that had been the tipping point leading into them eventually losing the battle. But then Engie had pointed out the obvious that something was clearly wrong, possibly severely so. Which lead to Medic pulling Pyro into his lab and sitting him down on the exam table the moment they got back to base to try to get to the bottom of it.
Pyro was being uncooperative though, far more so than usual. Even now, he just shrugged in answer to Medic’s question.
“Is it nightmares?” They’d established that Pyro had those sometimes, typically resulting in him burning something in the middle of the night. Perhaps, after everyone got mad at him for setting the fire alarm off in the while they were sleeping for the umpteenth time, he’d started responding to them differently. Such as just staying up the rest of the night, resulting in not getting enough sleep. Or maybe even just staying up to avoid the possibility of having one in the first place.
Pyro shook his head.
“Have you suffered from insomnia in the past?”
Another head shake.
“I want to help you but I can’t if I don’t know what’s wrong.”
“Really?” Finally a verbal response.
“’Really’, what?”
“You want to help?”
“Yes, of course.” That was part of Medic’s job and if he knew what it was he could fix it or at least make it better.
Pyro was silent for a few seconds as he gripped the edge of the table and lightly kicked his legs. Nervous about finally admitting to whatever the problem was or just general restlessness? Eventually he slid off the table to stand instead. “I’m fine. Sorry. It won’t happen again, I promise.” He then turned and fled the room.
With a sigh, Medic watched him go. He could call him back but likely would continue to not get any information. So he’d just keep an eye on Pyro and if whatever was wrong persisted or seemed to get worse, he would force a more intense examination.
Later that night
Well if Medic was having trouble falling asleep anyway, he might as well get up and check to see if Pyro was sleeping like he was supposed to be. They had battle again tomorrow which was a good reason why Medic shouldn’t get up but tonight he had good enough justification to do. Not that he wouldn’t have been able to find justification under different circumstances but if he got caught, no one would be able to argue with him about the importance of checking up on Pyro.
First he started for his lab. If Pyro wasn’t asleep, he’d offer some medication to help and he needed some himself too lest he make a hypocrite of himself. Or actually, make more of a hypocrite of himself as he’d certainly fallen asleep during combat a few times and would likely do so again next time he got caught up in a project or experiment for too many nights in a row. He really shouldn’t do that but at least he’d been doing it less…
He froze as he turned the corner. The light was on in his lab. He always turned it off when he left for the night. Meaning someone else had gone in since he’d left and was likely still there.
Medic tensed as he resumed his approach. Luckily he was wearing his slippers, making his footsteps silent. He didn’t have a weapon but he could pack a mean punch when he put his mind to it. And there were a multitude of things that could be used a weapons in the lab – including some actual weapons – assuming he could get to them fast enough anyway.
Upon reaching the doors he carefully and quietly pushed it open. By some blessed miracle it didn’t squeak for once, allowing him to open it enough to poke his head in without alerting the intruder.
Inside was… Pyro. He stood by the doves’ nesting tree. They were utterly unalarmed by his presence, even letting him pet them. Indicating perhaps that this was not the first time he’d interacted with them in such a way.
“Is this why you’ve seemingly not been getting enough sleep?” Medic asked as he stepped the rest of the way into the lab, letting the door swing shut behind him.
Pyro squeaked as he snapped around to face Medic. He jerked his hands behind his back and sidestepped away from the birds. “Sorry. Sorry.” Whatever he said next was lost in a guilty sounding mumble as if he’d been caught doing something naughty and was expecting to get yelled at for it.
“You’re not in trouble,” Medic finally had to cut in.
Pyro paused, silent and still for a few moments. “I’m not?”
“Of course not. Why would you be?”
“Because you said if anyone touched your birds, you’d kill them. But they’re so pretty and I wanted to pet them so bad. So I sneak in sometimes, only sometimes, promise. But then they had babies so I’ve been sneaking in more to see them. Too much though, I guess. Tonight was going to be the last night. I never touched the babies, I promise. I only looked at them and pet the others. I won’t do it again though, I promise.”
As he spoke, Medic approached closer in order to hear him better. But even then, his words were only understandable thanks to how quiet it was in here mixed with Medic being used to deciphering his words though the mask.
“I guess that explains why you’ve been so tired lately.” Medic had been enamored by the newly hatched doves as well. So if Pyro thought he wasn’t allowed to see them, it made sense he’d go to such lengths to do so. “There is no need for you to sneak in at night though or to stop seeing them. You are welcome to come visit them in the daytime.”
“Really? But you said you didn’t want anyone touching them.”
“That was a long time ago.” Back when the team had first formed. “I know you better now so I know you won’t hurt them.” There were still a few people he wouldn’t trust alone with the birds but Pyro wasn’t among them, he’d proven himself to be fond of animals and decent with them. “So please stop depriving yourself of sleep to visit them. There’s no need for it and honestly, I wouldn’t mind the company in the daytime.” Most of the time whenever someone came to the lab it was because they needed or wanted something from him so having someone come for a reason other than that would be quite welcome.
“Thank you! Thank you, thank you!” Pyro did a cute little clap before closing the rest of the distance to give Medic a quick hug. It was a surprise but not entirely unwelcome.
“You’re very welcome. Now go get some sleep. I don’t want you falling asleep on the battlefield again, okay?”
“Okay. See you tomorrow then. Good night.”
“Yes, yes. Good night,” Medic said as he watched him leave with a spring in his step.
Well, that solved the problem of what was wrong with Pyro. Thankfully it was nothing major and would now be fixed. And seems Medic would be seeing a bit more of him in the future. That was okay though, his enthusiasm was endearing and mixed with the fact he was also a competent killer made him quite fascinating.

Mystictober Day 22-- Doctor
The headache just won’t go away. It's been bothering Saeran for hours, and no matter what he does, it simply won't let up— he's barely gotten any work done, and he hasn't even had the energy to make his way down the hall to the toy room to let off steam on you. It goes without saying that he is beyond annoyed when he hears a knock at the door— can’t the believers just leave him alone? “What?” he demands, voice rough.
“Guess who?” The sing-song voice from the other side of the door is enough to get him scrambling across the room, ignoring the pain in his head.
“Who the hell let you out of that room?” Saeran demands. Apparently, the believers that he charged with watching your door failed to comprehend and follow the very simple instructions they were given.
“Nobody,” you assure him. You must have sneaked out, then, if you’re telling the truth— Saeran will have to increase the security by your room to make sure this doesn’t happen again. He doesn’t want to deal with you right now. “You said you weren't feeling well?” You approach him with caution, finally showing him the fear that he's been trying to elicit since the first time he went to your room. Good. You should be afraid of him.
“That's none of your business, toy,”  Saeran spits.
“Can I take your temperature?” You brandish a flimsy plastic thermometer.
“Where did you even get something like this?” Saeran rips the thermometer out of your hand and tosses it across the room. Do you honestly think he's going to let you check his body temperature? Why would you even need that information, anyway? You must still be confused about your situation at Magenta, if you think he’s going to let you get away with something like that.
“I found it in the bathroom,” you explain. “Ray left all kinds of first aid stuff in there for me, but it seems like you need it more than I do right now. Cough drop?”
Saeran examines the tray in your hands, and finds, to his dismay, that you have brought the entire first aid kit, along with some food from the Mint Eye cafeteria and several bottles of water. If you got as far as the cafeteria, you probably could have escaped, so why the hell did you come back to him? Don't you have any idea what's good for you? “Who told you to go to the cafeteria?” It’s the best thing he can think of to say while he contends with the utter shock of your presence. Why the hell are you still here when you could have run away with ease?
“You never told me not to,” you point out, “Anyway, are you feeling a little bit better?”
“Who the hell are you to ask me something like that?” Saeran demands. He’s annoyed that none of his questions thus far have been answered to his satisfaction, and even more annoyed that someone like you is worried about someone like him. He can take care of himself, after all, unlike you. He doesn’t need your help. Saeran tries to knock the tray out of your hands, but you sidestep him, entering the intelligence room and setting the tray firmly on the desk.
“You kept telling me to make myself useful,” you remind him, “So that's what I'm doing. You might feel better after you drink some water.” You’re still wearing that infuriating expression of concern, with your eyebrows knit together and your lips pursed. You look ridiculous, worrying over somebody who could crush you like a bug.
“Oh, wow, what a kind prince(ss) you are,” Saeran sneers at you, flopping down into his desk chair. Mocking you makes him feel more like he’s in control, but it’s annoying that you keep making the same face. Can’t you do something more interesting? “Coming here to take care of me. Aren’t you just a saint?” He can't help but laugh at the idea of you looking after him— what could you possibly do for him that the Savior couldn't? You don’t even have the common sense to leave when you’re in danger.
Without warning, you press the back of your hand to his forehead. It feels nice and cool; for a moment, Saeran relaxes into the touch. He comes to his senses quickly, though, and before you can get too comfortable, he is grabbing you by the wrist and wrenching your hand away. You should have waited until he ordered you to do that— then, he could have let you keep your hand there. It really did feel nice. You study him with concern. “You're burning up.” You bite your lip in some combination of concentration and concern.
Saeran has heard those words before, though he can't remember where. Someone who cared said exactly that to him when he was young, after placing one small hand in the exact same spot on his forehead that you just touched. But that's impossible, Saeran reminds himself— nobody cared for him when he was young. That was why the Savior rescued him in the first place. “What are you doing to me?” He demands. Why would you make him remember something that didn't even happen?
“I'm trying to help,” you inform him, “At least try to drink some water. Your body needs fluids right now— and food, too. You might feel better if you eat, once you’re feeling up to it.”
“What are you, some kind of doctor?” Saeran has been asking questions since you got here, and the lack of answers is putting him on edge.
You just shrug, offering him a water bottle. “It can't hurt you, can it? And it might make the headache go away.” He should never have told you that his head was hurting, and he wouldn’t have, if he had known that this was how you would react.
“What do you know?” Saeran mumbles, asking yet another question. But some animal instinct deep within him seems to have other ideas, because he finds himself unscrewing the cap and indulging in a prolonged drink. It feels almost as good as your hand did on his forehead, just as cool against his chapped lips.
“Thank you,” you breathe, like he did anything for you by drinking water. How stupid can you get?
“Get out of my sight,” Saeran growls. He’s not going to let you stand around watching him with that annoying look on your face. If you want to make yourself useful, that’s fine, but even you can’t pretend there’s any use in what you’re doing now.
At least you have the sense to obey that command. “Okay,” you offer him a slight smile, eyes watery. He’s been trying to make you cry for days to no avail, but drinking water is what does it? Saeran is seriously beginning to wonder if there’s something wrong with you. Why didn’t you escape when you had the chance? Why would you take such a monumental risk to bring him things that he could have gotten for himself? “Please let me know if you need anything else. I'll sneak out again— I mean it.” You begin to collect the tray, but Saeran holds up his hand to stop you.
Like a puppet on a string, you stand still, waiting for his next command. Yes, this is how you should behave— maybe drinking water isn't so bad, if it gets you to act like this. “Leave it,” Saeran orders.
“Okay.” You sound relieved, and your smile widens, though you have no real reason to be pleased.
“Go back to your room and wait for me there,” Saeran barks. When you fail to start moving again, he raises his voice. “I said get out of my sight! Do you want to find out what happens when you don’t listen to me, prince(ss)?”
You don't even flinch. “I hope you feel better soon, Saeran.”
