There's a word we use for stories that probably aren't completely true, but that tie in with half-remembered and vital facts relating to events from long before we were born. We call them Gospels, and even if they're not completely true, there's enough Truth in them to be valuable and meaningful.
What are some chronic illnesses that can only occur in a fantasy setting?
#but this WOULD explain why i find it so much easier to dive for pearls#this is all an analogy#which isn't the same as a metaphor#and isn't the same as real#but also isn't the same as NOT real#schrodiger's fae#i'm definitely human!#i can no longer tell if i'm also something else#or what that something else would be#and given that i will apparently not be reproducing in this lifetime#it has become a moot point anyway

Trait Sharing on the Empires Side
[AO3]
Been having Flower Husband thoughts so here’s something small from the trait sharing. Sorry if this is messy, the idea just came to came and I had to write it. In other news I’m kinda inspired to go back to working on some more Scarian post Scar gaining wings stuff. One having a really good example of just how much the soul bond is effecting everyone.
—————
Jimmy wakes to the sound of his communicator beeping, groaning as he sits up and stretches his wings. He’ll need to investigate what caused the pain now that he’s fully awake. But first, he pulls out his communicator, opening his chat to Pearl.
SolidarityGaming >>> PearlescentMoon
Pearl: Scar and Tango grew wings, you should go check on Scott.
Jimmy: What???
Pearl: I don’t know how or why, but Scar and Tango have wings now.
Pearl: I felt pain similar to what Grian felt when Scar grew wings so I’m assuming that’s from Scott.
Jimmy: Why do they have wings?
Pearl: Only idea is that we have wings.
Jimmy: That explains nothing.
Pearl: We can talk about this more later, you should go find Scott.
Jimmy: Right.
Pearl: Have fun teaching him how to fly!
Jimmy: ?
Pearl: It’s really fun to watch Scar and Tango attempt and fail.
Jimmy: Of course it is.
Jimmy: I’m heading to Chromia now.
Pearl: Alright
>>>><<<<
Jimmy pockets his communicator and begins to make his way toward Chromia, knowing that this takes precedence over everything else currently. He takes flight the moment he enters the nether, pushing himself to fly as fast as he can without hurting himself. Once he sees Chromia’s nether portal, he dives downwards, slowly. Jimmy’s always been the slowest to land, having thought his siblings crazy for diving as fast as they do. He doesn’t linger on the thought and quickly makes his way toward the house where Scott lives. Jimmy knocks on the door and waits anxiously.
The sound of something being knocked over reaches his ears just moments before the door opens. A rather disheveled Scott stares at him, snow-white wings partially spread behind him, feathers askew. “Jimmy?” he asks, confusion tinging his voice.
“So you did get wings,” he mumbles, eyes drawn to them.
Scott glances over his shoulders before meeting Jimmy’s eyes again, now even more confused, “you knew?”
“Pearl texted me that Scar and Tango have wings and that you probably do as well. So I’m here you make sure you’re alright.”
“Pearl said to?” Scott asks, voice sounding strange.
“Well, yeah? I didn’t know you would have grown wings otherwise.” Jimmy replies, now the one who’s confused.
“I see,” Scott murmurs, a look flashing in his eyes. It’s gone too quickly for Jimmy to be sure, but it looked like disappointment. Scott steps back, “come on in, pardon the mess, the wings are… unruly.”
Jimmy laughs lightly, stepping inside, “yeah, I bet.” He pauses as he looks around, noticing how much of a mess it is.
He turns around in time to see Scott grimace, “I’ve been working on it.”
“I guess first on the list of helping you adjust is that,” he replies with a small smile.
“That would be great, thanks.”
“It would be easier to start outside.”
“Right,” Scott says, opening the door again and stepping outside. “I’ve been trying to get them to cooperate for a while now.”
Jimmy follows him out, “it will probably go better with my help, and then-“ the words die on his tongue. His first instinct is to offer to help Scott preen his wings, but they’re not that close anymore. The only time they were intimate enough for that was in 3rd Life, and that was ages ago. Is it so far enough back to not matter anymore? “And then we’ll go from there,” Jimmy finishes lamely.
If Scott notices his hesitation, he doesn’t say, “that works.”
#my writing#the drabble saga#the additional gap in the texts looks so weird with how Tumblr spaces things#I like the look in notes but with here and AO3 it’s just strange#Scott is an owl avian fyi#empireshipping#trafficshipping#implied but y’know#for blocking#soul bound and closer then ever

Because Empires has ended I’ve decided I may as well just post all my headcanons that I’ve gathered so far (they’re all over the place and some aren’t unique so sorry abt that)
1. Pearl and Sausage are siblings with Pearl being older by a couple years
2. Sausage and Pixl have a rivalry from when they were younger, it’s turned friendly but they keep up the charade for jokes
3. The wither rose alliance are childhood friends and met at a grand ball being held in Grimlands, Pearl was making sure Sausage didn’t cause problems and the roseblings stuck together since they didn’t know anyone there. They met when Sausage decided to sneak out causing Pearl to follow and the roseblings chose to go outside away from the noise.
4. Scott didn’t have much friends in Rivendell growing up, even less in other empires but did have Katherine as their families were close allies and Shrub later on because he was one of the first people to meet her when she got to the universe.
5. Scott was the obvious favorite from a young age as he resembled Aoer and Xornoth, resembling and acting like Xoer, was so hated especially by the king that he got sent away and made all the high wizards wipe the memory of him ever existing.
6. Although he was the favourite, that did not make his life any easier as he had extremely high expectations set on him and would be told not to feel his emotions as they didn’t want to stir his ice magic.
7. Lizzie finds small creatures very adorable which is why she compliments Shrub and the Undergrove a lot everytime she passes by and why her husband is the height he is.
8. After a few days of roaming on land, Lizzie had lived in the Lost Empire. At one point, Joey and Lizzie were in an arranged marriage to which they made a plan for Lizzie to run away from (I have an extremely long explanation and story on this that I could make a fanfic)
9. Joey and Lizzie have a strong friendship but like messing with each other a lot as though they’re fake rivals.
10. The citizens of the Ocean and Lost Empire don’t like each other as they think their rulers are enemies, Lizzie sometimes trys to explain but it never really works. Joey just sits quiet cause he thinks it’s funny.
11. “The Sea Witch” came from when Lizzie and Joey were once swimming together in the Lost Empire as children because according to Joey under water she looked like a witch. They also watched The Little Mermaid together and Lizzie loved Ariel but Joey would tease her by saying she’s more like Ursula (the sea witch)
12. Lizzie wasn’t 10 foot tall until after her transformation.
13. Jimmy thinks that talking to fish, specifically cod, is normal and that everyone can do it (since the only example he had was his seabling)
14. Jimmy isn’t too good at spelling and can’t tell his directions that well.
15. Almost no one has seen the codfather without his head until he became codboy. Even when Fwhip hid it, he had a backup.
16. He wears the head a lot as the cod head helps him breathe on land though the one he would wear when Fwhip took the original wasn’t as good.
17. Lizzie doesn’t need help breathing on land as axolotls can stay above water for much longer than cod and her empires surrounded by water so it isn’t much of a problem. If she does more bubbles then she can just take a dive into it.
18. Lizzie with a snap of her fingers can automatically dry her skin of all the water on it. Which is quite useful for when Jimmy tries pranking her.
19. Gem is older than Fwhip by 4 minutes and holds it above him at all times.
20. Gem being older, she was meant to take over the Grimlands, but at the time, the Grimlands didn’t allow female rulers so she got skipped making Fwhip the ruler.
21. Gem didn’t mind not being an emporer but didn’t like it that the reason was purely because she was a woman. This caused an huge argument that resulted in her flying off for crystal cliffs. It was the first and only time that Gem had fully yelled at someone.
22. Fwhip wasn’t too happy about what happened either and made sime major changed after he had gotten crowned. The changes consisted of going by Count more than Emperor as he didn’t want to be like his parents in any way.
23. Another change was a different name for the land he ruled as years ago Sausage and Fwhip made a silly agreement that if they ever became emperors they would change their empires name to have “land” in it, not expecting it to happen as they both had older sisters.
24. Pearl intentionally walked out of being an Emperor before her coronation because she wanted to start her own empire that didn’t have a history with…blood sheep.
25. Pearl is buff, the muscle and one of the strongest emperors, she’s like a tank. This is canon.
#empires smp#mythical sausage#scott smajor#pearlecentmoon#ldshadowlady#roseblings#seablings#jimmy solidarity#empires fwhip#geminitay#empires joey#katherine elizabeth#shubble#headcanon#i really want to write that joey and lizzie story#wither rose alliance#xornoth#this is way too long for anyones liking

DadWorth AU: Part 3 (Justice For All)
Justice for All has to be one of the angstier parts of this AU, right up there with some ideas I have for Apollo Justice. Especially considering the whole Miles “chooses death” thing. So, let’s dive into it!
< Part 2 | Part 4 >
Reunion, and Turnabout
Things fast forward a couple of months after the end of Rise from the Ashes. Gumshoe’s been taking care of Kay since Miles kind of fucked off. He’s been doing his best, and so are Sebastian and Klavier -- who have been trying to cheer up their third musketeer ever since they found out what happened. But Kay is miserable.
So, now summer break is here for her, Gumshoe decides to take her out to the mountains for the day to get out in nature and hopefully get her mind off of things. Even if it is for a little while.
However, that plan is totally ruined when he gets a call about a murder nearby. He’s the only detective in the area, so they have to go down to Kurain Village to check it out. And that’s where they run into Phoenix for the first time since the end of Rise. Both he and Kay are not doing well in the aftermath of that case, and neither are really sure what to do around each other. Needless to say, the whole interaction is awkward.
Gumshoe does not pick up on this. He asks Phoenix if he could keep an eye on Kay while he takes care of the investigation. After some hesitation and deliberation, Phoenix agrees. So Kay becomes his partner button and Phoenix finally get to interact one-on-one with each other during the investigation for Reunion.
This is the first time they get to do this, since they were either with Maya or Ema on previous cases. It’s still a bit awkward, but when Phoenix finds out that she’s studying to be a defense attorney, things get a little bit easier as they find common ground.
Phoenix unknowingly starting to settle into a mentor role? Yes.
Kay is super turned off by Morgan Fey (getting chills up her spine and a faint memory of Dahlia Hawthorne -- she saw the Fawles trial. Phoenix also gets the same vibes from her.) And is surprisingly good with Pearl.
Her reaction to learning that Franziska is the prosecutor for this case catches Phoenix’s attention. Kay hasn’t heard from Franziska outside of a few text messages to check in on her over the past few months, so the fact that she’s in the country and Kay’s only finding out about it now makes her wonder what’s going on.
Kay goes to meet with Maya at the detention center with Phoenix, and kind of gets overly excited when she sees that Maya is channeling Mia because if you remember, she looked up Mia. Mia was an idol for her. So getting to meet her -- even if it is through spirit channeling -- is the highlight of her week.
And then we get to the trial. Phoenix asks Kay if she wants to stand co-counsel and Kay immediately jumps at the chance to say yes. So this is technically her first trial (she’s excited for it, but a little bit sad that Miles isn’t there to see her). Franziska, on the other hand, is surprised that Kay is standing at the defense’s bench with Phoenix Wright, leading to a lot of things including seeing Kay as a traitor (reason why will be explained later.)
So, Kay stands in for Pearl as co-counsel. As a result, her spirit channeling abilities are not revealed until much later. In the second trial day, she’s not present due to Gumshoe’s intervention and keeping her busy (something which Pearl agrees to so long as Kay and Phoenix get Maya a Not Guilty).
The investigation moments are full of small bonding moments between Phoenix and Kay as they get to know each other a bit better.
So, Team Wright-Faraday get a Not Guilty verdict as promised. Kay’s super proud of herself for managing to do this and it puts her on cloud nine. Franziska only believes that Phoenix won because he had a semi-competent co-counsel with him (Aunt Fran starting to show that she’s proud of Kay a little bit, but is still incredibly pissed that she lost.) Overall, she isn’t sure how to feel about Kay in that moment, and it all comes down to one simple reason:
This is the first time Kay has smiled in months. Everyone who knows her is relieved to see it back.
After the case is closed, Maya does thank Kay for helping and Kay in return does try to cheer her up after the whole “morgan stabbed maya in the back” thing starts to settle in. Am I saying Maya and Kay friendship? Maya and Kay friendship. It starts here.
So, things are starting to look a little bit better for Kay.
The Lost Turnabout
It’s not... Kay’s not involved in this one. Teenage shenanigans happen here as the new school year at Themis starts up.
The first day of school is always pretty easy, but it gets pretty depressing for Kay when one of her professors decides a good idea to break the ice by talking about some of the more ridiculous things that have happened in court cases. It gets the class laughing, and isn’t a bad idea...
Unfortunately for Kay, though, the professor also brings up a certain defense attorney cross-examining a parrot. The memory of that trial brings up a whole lot of feelings for Kay and she just kind of falls quiet for the rest of the day.
But luckily, Klavier and Sebastian have known Kay for a year now, and they realize something’s wrong. So they (primarily Klavier, since he instigates the whole thing) decide to do something about it and distract her. Here is where teenage shenanigans come about.
Just wholesome fun with what is slowly becoming a favorite chaotic trio that ends with everyone collapsed on a couch with an old movie playing in the background. ...and possibly a few appearances from other characters. Who knows?
Kay only finds out about Phoenix’s trial after the fact from Maya, and she’s not sure whether to be impressed that Phoenix managed to do all that with amnesia or laugh about it. She decides to do both.
Turnabout Big Top
It all starts with Phoenix going from ace attorney to ace babysitter as he’s in charge of four teenagers and one small child. Over the past few months, he’s gotten acquainted with Klavier and Sebastian as well, especially after the trio used the Wright & Co. Law Offices as their own personal hangout spot to get homework done and hide out when needed (thank you Kay).
The only reason Kay is brought on as co-counsel for this case is because a: its winter break so she doesn’t have school to worry about and b: the time frame is the same as when Miles was arrested the year prior. If Phoenix is having a rough time, then so is Kay. Especially since this will also be her first birthday since the whole incident. She’s also at Wright & Co. for the same reason when Maya calls up with the case.
This case is not the best distraction for Kay, but at least its something. Lesson learned: as a lawyer, you gotta take the good with the frustrating. Things get worse with Franziska prosecuting again. Kay still doesn’t get what’s up with her and why she’s still getting called a traitor.
The boys are also in on this case because why not, though they don’t stand as co-counsel but rather just help with the investigation. Because we all know that Kristoph and Blaise wouldn’t agree to them standing on the defense’s side, one more than the other.
Kay openly admitting to getting a headache while trying to figure out what the heck is actually going on during the first trial day. She grew up with the Master of Logic himself, so trying to make sense of this without all the information is making her head run in circles. But she’s not going to give up.
It’s revealed when Franziska confronts Phoenix & Co. outside of the lodging house later that day that the reason Franziska calls Kay a traitor is that she deliberately is siding with the man responsible for Miles’s “death”, something that she never thought Kay would do.
Kay never blames Phoenix for what happened to Miles. She mostly blames Gant (and von Karma somewhat) for it. They were the ones who pushed him, not Phoenix. So, when Franziska openly blames Phoenix for what happened, Kay gets pretty pissed.
When Phoenix and Maya continue their investigation, Kay goes to confront Franziska on that matter and just goes off. Months of bottled up emotions just kind of explode outward, and Franziska is the unfortunate target of it all. This blow-up is also the first time that Kay refers to Miles as her dad. Which hits pretty hard. Franziska starts regretting a few choices she’s made today. Klavier and Sebastian pull her away as she starts to break down.
So they just... let her cry it out in the circus’s cafeteria. They end up being the ones who find out about the incident with the lion (once Kay’s calmed down) rather that Phoenix and Maya. The story has them racing over to them, catching the duo just as they’re about to enter Acro’s room and things go about pretty much the same way they do canonically from there.
The next day is a bit hard, and its easy to pick up on the tension between Kay and Franziska here. Taking a page out of the anime, Kay, Klavier, a reluctant Sebastian and Maya recreating the crime for the entire court. She does feel bad about having to indict Acro, though, due to the circumstances surrounding everything.
Kay does a pretty good job, something which Gumshoe relays as a message to her, at the end of the trial, much to her surprise. Who else would be proud of her is something that she wants to know.
Meanwhile, Miles Edgeworth wonders how he’s going to tell his daughter that he’s still alive upon his return to the country. (and yes, he was the one who told gumshoe to tell kay that he was proud of her)
Farewell, My Turnabout
So, Kay at this point still doesn’t know that Miles is alive. He wants to get everything settled before he makes any grand reveals to anyone. He’s also still trying to figure out how to do it since that wasn’t supposed to happen. Kay wasn’t supposed to think he was dead. He told her that he was leaving, sure, but Kay was also half-asleep when he did. So, misunderstandings~
Meanwhile, Phoenix takes the girls (Maya, Pearl and Kay) to the Hero of Heroes Grand Prix. Kay’s gotten decently close to the members of Wright & Co. over the past few months, that much is clear by now.
Kay gets upset about Corrida’s murder because ya know. Jammin’ Ninja fan. She hopes that Engrade gets locked away for doing it. Maya thinks she just doesn’t like the Nickel Samurai, which isn’t that far off. Kay just doesn’t like Engarde thanks to reading Klavier’s tabloid magazines. She never gets to explain the contents of those magazines, though. Phoenix finds out about them later.
Things take a sharp turn when Maya is called to the front desk to answer her “call”. Kay goes with Maya because ya know. Buddy system. (”girls don’t let each other go anywhere alone, nick!” “*sigh* i will never understand teenagers...”) i think. you know. where this about to go--
So, yeah. Kay gets kidnapped alongside Maya. She puts up a pretty decent fight against de Killer (look at the people she was around growing up, Kay probably does know a little self-defense), but in the end, she still gets ‘napped. And so, Phoenix has to defend Engarde or the two girls will “disappear”.
Things are made worse, as Phoenix is accosted by two teenage boys who can’t get in touch with their third musketeer who didn’t show up for school that day. He’s just trying to do his job, but Klavier and Sebastian are really stubborn and will not leave him alone.
And everything gets worse when Miles makes his grand revival. And then is made the prosecutor for this case. So, Phoenix is not having a very good week at all.
Phoenix and Gumshoe are doing the best to keep the fact that the girls are being held hostage from Edgeworth and the boys. Emphasis on try. All three know that there’s something going on, but they can’t figure out what.
Meanwhile, Kay and Maya are in a wine cellar. Kay has tried several times to break down the door, but it hasn’t worked. de Killer took their phones, so they have no way of contacting the outside. They’re screwed unless they can escape.
Maya realizes that they do have a way to contact the outside and uses her spirit channeling powers to contact Mia, and with Kay’s help manages to explain what’s going on and giving a message to Mia to give to Phoenix.
So, Pearl finally reveals her spirit channeling powers. It freaks Phoenix out at first, but he gets over it quickly because at this point, he’s kind of used to Fey Family Weirdness.
The first part of the trial goes on as pretty much the same as it did before. Afterwards, Phoenix does his best to keep the fact that the girls are kidnapped from Miles because he’s gonna flip the fuck out. And he fails. And Miles kind of does flip out.
So, de Killer and Engarde (more so de Killer because he did his research, he knows the connection with Kay that Edgeworth has) have two pawns to work with and dangle over both the prosecution and defense. And now Edgeworth has two assistants on his side: Sebastian and Klavier, who don’t want to see Kay hurt. However, as future prosecutors, they can’t do much to help Phoenix. So, they help out with the investigation (and using the excuse as this being extra credit for anyone who asks why there are two teenagers here.)
On the other side, Maya and Kay break out of the room they were locked in thanks to a card Maya finds. Things go about as well as they do canonically, but with more struggle. Kay makes a fucking mess trying to defend herself and Maya from de Killer, which will later show the police that something definitely went down here (and concerning the heck out of a good handful of people in the process).
Kay may not know the truth about the Yatagarasu yet, but she sure is acting like the Yatagarasu.
The investigation goes about as well as you expect it to. Klavier and Sebastian are doing their best, but they can’t do much since they’re still only students. And Miles is worried as hell for Kay and ends up wanting to tear Engarde apart. Klavier is right to not like Engarde, as was Kay earlier.
When the trial starts up again, you have both the prosecution, the defense and a few members of the gallery nervous as hell. Gumshoe is doing his best to find the girls, but Miles and Phoenix still need to stall for time.
They do their best, but things are going about as well as they do canonically with Edgeworth being more on edge due to Kay being in danger. And the last time he saw her was when he left. So, he wants to be able to reconcile with her.
Things go on much like they do in canon. The note, Gumshoe’s accident, etc. Mia’s with Kay, doing her best to help, but she’s not sure what more she can do because the girls are weak and tired from being held captive for so long.
More worry on both parts.
When de Killer threatens to kill Maya and Kay when Edgeworth and Phoenix press him and try to get more time, Miles is also there to beg him to leave them alone. This is also the first time that Miles openly refers to Kay as his daughter.
Not much is different there out. They manage to expose Engarde as the asshole that he is, the girls are released and Engarde is declared guilty.
The scene with Franziska at the airport and Phoenix giving Miles the whip takes place a bit earlier, as that’s where Miles goes first before going to meet with Kay. Because he’s still trying to figure out how he’s going to talk to Kay again.
Phoenix and the others meet Maya and Kay at the hospital (Kay and Maya were held captive without much food or water for about three days, and Kay has a few minor injuries from de Killer, so they do need medical attention). Maya has a tearful reunion with Mia (as channeled by Pearl), and Kay gets tackled by her friends on both sides.
And then Miles Edgeworth walks into the room a short while later and Kay does not know what to say. She thought that he was dead for over a year, and a lot of things start bubbling to the surface. She starts tearing up because she thought she would never see Miles again, and he with her.
As soon as he gets close enough, Kay hugs him and calls him stupid in a couple different ways. Miles accepts it and apologizes for making her worry. He promises not to vanish like that again, and returns the promise that Kay made in part 2: to not keep secrets from her again.
So, what they didn’t get at the end of part 2, Miles and Kay finally get at the end of JfA: a chance to actually rebuild and reconcile their relationship without anything getting in the way.
So Justice for All ends on a pretty good note.
That may be the end of Justice for All, but it’s not the end of the story. There are still more ripples to come and fun shenanigans.

Pearls « Jeong Yunho (RW)
original warnings: none word count: 1954
It’s almost a peaceful morning in which you can finally sleep after having to work a graveyard shift. You manage to remove all the light in your room, which you remind yourself to thank your mom for buying blackout curtains. You flip your ceiling fan on high as well as your portable fan on high and rotation. You change into a giant hoodie you stole from your best friend a couple years ago, and climb into your bed. You curl up under the covers as the temperature in the room begins to drop. You close your eyes and begin to let sleep pull at you.
“Y/N! Y/N! Y/N!” You can already hear your best friend calling your name loudly from the hallway. You can also hear him approach, and he hurries down the worn down carpet, the thuds of his feet keeping you dreadfully awake. You lift you head and turn towards your door just as it opens, seeing your best friend, Yunho, standing in the doorway.
“Are you still sleeping?” Yunho laughs as he walks in to your room, closing the door behind him, “it’s freezing in here.”
“Yunho. I love you,” you tell him tiredly, “but I just got back from a graveyard shift. I need to sleep.” Yunho’s eyes widen and guilt immediately floods him.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry,” he quickly tells you as he sets something down on your desk, “I just got back from my trip and wanted to see you.”
“You’re adorable,” you laugh and completely turn over in your bed to face him. Without second thought Yunho climbs over you in your bed and plops down on the other side of the mattress. You turn once again to face him but not without yawning.
“Get some sleep,” Yunho tells you.
“You’re here,” you counter closing your eyes and lightly smiling.
“When has that stopped either one of us before?” Yunho laughs as he shifts around. He manages to find a blanket at the end of your bed, and drapes it over him as he steals one of the other few pillows you have on your bed. You ignore his movements and allow yourself to finally fall asleep. Yunho follows your lead and falls asleep ready to take his world famous all-day nap. The two of you often did this when one of you stayed up the night before. But lately you don’t know what’s come over you, you’ve felt like something is off. You blush much easier than you use to. You get these weird butterflies in your stomach at the most random times when you use to never. You’re afraid you’re falling in love with your best friend and you wish you weren’t… because you don’t want to lose what you have.
About two in the afternoon, after sleeping for about eight hours, you wake up in your bed. Face just centimeters away from Yunho’s. You jump back and squeal not realizing you were on the edge of your bed and you fall off with a loud thud. You push yourself off the floor and notice Yunho not even looking remotely bothered or anywhere close to waking up… typical. You stand up from the floor and stretch your body out before heading over to your desk to get on your laptop. Your eyes stop when you notice a semi large box sitting on your desk. It looks like a present. Didn’t Yunho set something on your desk earlier when he first arrived?
You turn on your desk lamp and look over the box. You find a little extra long ribbon hanging off of it which you find your name scribbled in Yunho’s handwriting. Curious, you carefully lift the box and place it on your lap and pull the lid off. Inside you find a beautiful polished murex shell. You carefully lift it out of the box to look at closer, but wary of the way you hold it due to the spiky spine that keeps predators away. You flip it around and look at the beautiful orange and pink ombre of color that leads to the inside of the shell.
“Do you like it?” Yunho’s sleepy voice calls out to you. You slightly jump and the box falls off your lap and you turn around.
“You scared me,” you tell him as you awkwardly laugh, “but yes. I do, thank you. You didn’t need to get me it.”
“You’ve always talked about wanting to go to the ocean. Especially a crystal clear blue one,” Yunho explains before pointing to the shell, “you can hear the ocean in it.” Curiously you hold the shell up to your ear and you can hear the illusion of the ocean waves jumping on and off the shell walls.
“Did you see the other thing?” Yunho asks sitting up right in your bed, his hair slightly standing in different directions.
“There was more? Yunho,” you whine, “you seriously didn’t need to get me anything.” Yunho cheekily smiles before climbing out of bed and reaching for the box himself. He picks up the two small black pouches and hands them over.
“Pick whichever one you want. Then I get the other,” Yunho explains. You carefully set the murex shell on your desk and take both the small pouches from Yunho’s hand. You open them and a small little bracelets falls out of each little bag. A black adjustable twine bracelet with a peal in the center- one blush pink pearl and one ivory pearl. You look carefully over both before slipping the ivory pearl bracelet on to your wrist. You hand the other one over to Yunho who puts his on his wrist.
“Now, you have to make a wish,” Yunho tells you.
“A wish? Yunho we’re not eight anymore,” you laugh.
“Seriously!” Yunho exclaims, “from what I was told. You make a wish and then you visit the beach in which the pearl originates. If the pearl falls off the bracelet and back into the ocean then it means your wish came true!”
“You clearly had too much to drink over there,” you laugh at your best friend who pouts, “okay, okay. I’ll make a wish. But that means you have to take me to this beach.”
“Deal!” Yunho excitedly agrees. You laugh and look at the small pearl sitting on your left wrist and make a wish. A stupid, silly wish. One that can be considered breaking the rules.
——
After trudging through the rest of summer with constant working and the beginning of your next semester in college, fall break finally comes around. Now unlike when you are younger and fall break would last up to a week or two, college only gives you two added days to a weekend.
Yunho decided to surprise you with plane tickets to an island in the Caribbean. Just a small weekend getaway considering your short break, but it’s enough time to take a breather before diving into finals.
“What do you want to do first?” Yunho asks as the two of you walk into your small little airbnb apartment.
“I have no idea. It’s already kind of late. Maybe we should just walk on the beach,” you tell him as you look out the back porch sliding door towards the ocean not even a football field away from where you’re staying the next couple days. Yunho agrees and after the two of you change into better attire to wear on the beach you guys head out and walk down the sandy walkway towards the loud crashing waves.
“Wow. Look how blue the water is!” You exclaim instantly running into it, “and it’s warm?” Yunho laughs at your excitement and follows you into the water. The two of you walk down the long beach and you stop at one point just to look out into the water as the sun begins to hit the water.
“You might go blind looking at the sun, Y/N,” Yunho obviously states as he walks back to you after realizing you stopped.
“It looks really pretty I just can’t help it,” you tell him, “this is the first time I’ve been to an ocean.”
“I know, I know,” Yunho laughs, “I’m just teasing you.” You roll your eyes and lightly push him to the side. You then pull off your shirt and shorts swiftly reveling your swimsuit you changed into before you two left and walk further into the water, leaving your clothes near a tree.
“Hey! Wait for me!” Yunho calls as he pulls off his shirt and throws it towards your discarded clothing before hurrying in after you. You turn around and wait for him to join you. Just as he’s only a few feet away a wave knocks hard into your back pushing you under the water. Yunho about goes into a panic and reaches to pull you back above the surface. You cough out the ocean water and move your hair out of you face.
“You okay?” Yunho asks bending down to reach eye level with you.
“Yeah. Just took me by surprise that’s all,” you awkwardly laugh, feeling a little embarrassed. Yunho smiles and laughs along with you. But before he knows it you tackle him and you both go under the water. You’re first to push yourself off the soft sandy ground and reach for the air again. You push back your hair and wipe your eyes as the tall giant rises out of the water next to you.
“Very funny,” Yunho comment swinging his hair back only for it to fall back into his face again.
“I mean,” you shrug, “I thought it was.” You reach to push his hair out of his face to see his eyes. Yunho almost freezes under your touch and watches you intently as you focus on brushing all his sandy hair out of his face.
“Yunho you okay?” You ask scrunching your eyebrows together, wondering why Yunho is so suddenly quiet and just watching you.
“Yeah,” Yunho blinks his eyes a couple of times before taking a step towards you, “.. I just need to do something. Don’t freak out?” You nod your head, although your adrenaline starts pumping, and you watch as Yunho’s body almost presses against yours. He reaches both his hands to cup your cheek gently as he would if you were getting sleepy and complaining that you can’t sit through one more movie. He slowly leans downs and closes his eyes as his lips ever so softly brush against yours. Despite the adrenaline going and the mad rush of blood to your cheeks you manage to stay still and kiss him back. Yunho pulls away and smiles at you ever so softly like when you would get excited over small things.
“You didn’t freak out?” Yunho asks, almost confused.
“Why would I?” You ask, your heart still pumping at lightning speed.
“Because I didn’t think you…,” Yunho starts but can’t find his words to finish.
“Yunho,” you smile brightly, “I fell in love with you a long time ago. Why would you think I couldn’t love you?” Yunho looks at you, his eyes glittering with happiness as a smile quickly grows on his lips. Yunho reaches out for your arm and when he grabs your wrist he pulls you to him and you two lay chest to chest. Yunho leans down and kisses you again.
Just as a small wave brushes past the two of you, it takes not only the blush pink pearl, but the ivory pearl as well. The two small jewels return to the sea, and burry themselves under the sand just as they are made to do once their wishes have been granted.

Hi Have Some Zelda
I need to talk about Wind Waker lore and I need to do it now, because I googled my idea and I didn’t find anyone else talking about the idea so I guess it needs to exist now
I don’t think it was the intention when the game was created that Zora turned into Rito, I think it became that due to wind wakers short development cycle and the fact they had to cut and smoosh together a bunch of stuff to release the game
I now it’s canon now, but in a different universe here is what could have been...
In canon, when Hyrule flooded, the Zora, an water dwelling race apparently couldn’t survive in slightly saltier water, so the deity that they worshiped in OoT times
Valoo....
Took pity on their plight and granted them wings, allowing the to survive in this water world. By flying above the water instead of in it.
They also took with them the Pearl of the Goddess handed down through generations, the one belonging to Nayr- I mean, Din?
As well as the power of the Wate- I mean, Earth...Sage...
I have a few problems with this.
1) Why were the Zora worshiping a fire breathing sky Dragon and not Jabun, especially as Jabun exists in Wind Waker and IS the same Jabun as Jabu Jabu from OoT which the Zora there clearly worship?
2) Why was it easier to transform a fish into a bird instead of a freshwater fish into a saltwater fish?
3) I mean I know it’s never stated outright, but Zora are clearly associated with Nayru right? Not Din, Din was Goron, Farore was Korok. Nayru was Zora.
4) A ZORA. As the EARTH SAGE. N...No!? Make whatever arguments you want for the bird, but a Zora was not the Earth Sage when this game was being pitched.
Also, if the Rito and the Zora were meant to be of the same bloodline, why do the statues of the goddess Din, Farore and Nayru in Wind Waker have Feathered, Flowered and Finned ears respectively?
Din had a Rito for the Earth Sage
Farore had a Korok for the Wind Sage
Nayru had a Zora for the Water Sage
this is what I believe it was meant to be
But I’m not done yet
We still have the problem of “Why a Bird for the Earth sage?” When really it’s because the Rito are a Din sage and Din’s elements are Earth and Fire.
Now we get to the juicy bits
so If the Rito were an evolved species, under the blessing of their reptilian guardian, given wings to escape a drowning world AND they aren’t related to the Goron because Goron exist in WW (and they even were supposed to have their own cut Island with a steampipe hotspring aesthetic In WW so def nothing to do with Din’s Pearl or the Earth Sage)
Just who did they evolve from?
Judging by the judgy prejudice a lot of the Hylians seem to hold towards the Rito in WW, also something not explained by their Zora origins who were beloved by the royal family and its people and who had no history of betrayal like the Sheikah did once upon a time.
their red hair, the tanner skin the males have, the connection to Din, the reptilian deity the fact that their lifestyle made them complete unsuited for an ocean world
I feel the Rito were originally intended to be the Transformed Gerudo people.
Because as of OoT, the Gerudo would be a people facing prejudice against what their King had become and right after OoT is where theyd be feeling that brunt the strongest
They did already have some birdlike traits, with their large eyes and long noses, and the red hair and yellow eyes is also seen in at least Rito females like Medli, not to mention Dragon Roost island is a hot volcanic place, so the people who live there need to at least be acclimated to higher temperatures, like those found in a desert.
It’s not a perfect fit mind you, because obviously most of the Rito we see in game are Males, Gerudo didn’t have males besides Ganondorf, and the male Rito are actually more reminiscent of Sheikah, having red eyes and white hair
But you know who else isnt found in WW? The Sheikah.
You know how in order to continue their race the Gerudo’s were said to get Hylian boyfriends? You know what wasn’t happening after the events of OoT? Gerudo’s getting with Hylians as often, which means its more likely as time went on that the Gerudo preferred to seek out Sheikah, another race of humans who would understand at least what it meant for others to think of your kind as betrayers.
(not to mention that for any OoT Hylian, having a race be a mix of the Sheikah and Gerudo, they would undoubtably face more than some racial prejudice after the events of Ganondorf, Sheikah were already apparent betrayers, and Gerudo were outsiders.)
As for Valoo not existing in OoT times like Jabu and Deku
well, we never really see what the Gerudo’s snake deity looks like, it could have been a dragon, a BOTW type dragon even, long and eastern
that just became a winged western dragon just like how the gerudo became winged.
So the story is basically after being rejected as Outsiders after the events of OoT, and Hyrule being flooded, The Gerudo and their more than likely Sheikah families who were also outsiders/castaway families, prayed not upon Hylia, who had called forth the flood, but their own patron Reptile Deity Valoo and begged to be saved, Valoo with his powers gave all the Gerudo and their family a blessing of wings and they all became fully a new race of people, the Rito, neither Gerudo and Sheikah anymore, but a perfect blend of the two.
Also, there was supposed to be a dungeon associated with Nayru’s Pearl, Jabun and the Greatfish isle, but it was cut due to time restraints. Link WAS supposed to be able to travel underneath the oceans surface in some way , at least using iron boots, maybe a rudimentary diving suit and able to jump back to the surface using warp points that look like fishermen’s hooks and the ocean was once at least a little transparent, but these ideas had to be scrapped as well
So the ocean had to change from being vibrant and full of life, to being dead and empty, it’s called devoid of living things and fish in the final, yet the Fishmen mapmakers exist and many people on many islands make their livings as Fishermen, reference that were perhaps missed when cuts were being made. We even see leftover caves in the background of sunken hyrule, still with collisions but no warps and references in the final cut still being made to how the Ice and Fire mini dungeons had cave entrances hidden somewhere in the sunken hyrule.
Not to mention, the biggest hints of the Gerudo influence is in the Earth Dungeon itself, so reminiscent of both the Spirit and Shadow temple from OoT
and finally, it makes so much more sense for a Desert dwelling Gerudo to be an Earth sage instead of a Zora.
alright that’s my theory and I’m sticking to it, remember, I’m not talking about what canon ended up being, I’m talking about what could have been
Also did yall know that in the files of the game there’s an older version of the a crumbling Sage stone that has a different unique unused-in-the-series-so-far melody on it instead of the Earth God’s lyric? even though it pictures a harp?
And even using a time signature that Wind Waker never even uses
I wonder what It would have sounded like
Also because Harps are undoubtedly Water and Nayru, if Oracle of Ages is to be believed
I wonder what instrument Medli would have used instead? If the above was meant to be the Water God’s and Violin fits Makar and Kokiri so well as little leprechaun types
Well, the Gerudo had a penchant for Dancing, but that doesn’t really make a music of its own
It would make sense actually to go back to the title theme of the game, since the earth god’s lyric and the wind god’s aria seem to make up the two halves of the song, and try and see if a third instrument pops out
It does start off with a slow drum beat so maybe a gentle Drum?
Or heck, singing because it’s called a Lyric, which usually means words to sing, would be a nice throw back to another sweet red haired singing maiden
Maybe the dancing could incorporate a Tambourine type instrument too
#Medli#Rito#Wind Waker#Zelda#Why lengths of radio silence and then random Zelda Lore theories?#i dont got a clue man

ℬ - What are your top three favourite movies, and why? / ☼ - How do you calm yourself when you get angry? / ☺ - State three things that make you smile!
thank u anon!!! thank u for sending these.
ℬ - What are your top three favourite movies, and why?
my favorite movies are usually the ones people think are bad lmao. Like maybe they are bad. But sometimes I can find a lot of deeper meanings in them and I could write so many headcanons about them that you'd be like why did you do this. I have too many favorite movies to pick just three or even put them as a 'top' so i'll just pick three. And if I get asked again list some more.
under the cut bc this is long as shit
Pearl Harbor is probably one of the few three hour long movies that I can sit through over and over again. I know it's got tons of explosions. I also know they added a romantic subplot that most feel detracts from the actual historical event. But I love the movie. Look, sometimes things don't have to be perfect for you to love them. I just love Danny and Rafe's friendship. Even when they are mad at each other and they think they are finished with it? They can't give up on each other. He could've done anything at the end. And he did right by his best friend regardless of the girl that he loved being involved ( rafe being he ) and I love Rafe and Evelyn. And Betty is one of my favorite characters of all time. I think she's amazing. I would say that I also really love Armageddon. Look, you can say what you want, it makes no sense as a plot to a movie and if you've seen clips of the commentary, Ben himself tears apart the idea of it being easier to train oil drillers to be astronauts then the reverse. But Ben is so good in it and AJ is sincere and lovely. He's willing to die to make sure that the girl he loves doesnt lose her dad even though in the beginning her dad literally wants to kill him. And I think AJ and Grace are really sweet and wholesome. You can feel how much they love each other through the little we get. That animal cracker scene will be in my head forever. I also really adore Remember Me which I know a lot of people hate because of the twist at the end. I think it took me a long time to get to a good place with the ending. But, I still love the movie and it really helped me build ric's character in a lot of ways. I think Tyler is an interesting character and I also think that Tyler's dynamic with his family is something that I can't really get over. Him and his sister really warmed my heart. And him and Ally were interesting. But it was one of those movies where the romantic aspect was the least interesting part to me. I wanted more about Tyler as a person. And I love movies that make me think about that and that's why it's a favorite.
/ ☼ - How do you calm yourself when you get angry? /
This is sort of hard to explain because when I get angry I can sort of sit there for a bit and I am not fun to be around for any reason. I usually vent about whatevers bugging me to a close friend and then I try to turn on music or a movie or hang with my doggos until I settle. But it's really dependent on what made me angry. Because if it's something online--the things I like might not work because they relate to the computer. But if it's real life related, diving into rp can calm me too.
☺ - State three things that make you smile!
good surprises! when things turn up I didn't expect. random starters and edits for ships. People sending me memes without me asking them for them all fall in this category.
People being happy on my dash always makes me smile idk why but it just does.
My doggos especially my little one. He's just my favorite thing and he and I are like so tight.

Chlonette and mermaids
this isn’t really very plotty but idk modern mermaid au i guess :P
words: 1961
Marinette looked into her old jewelry box and realized she was quickly running out of stock.
About the only things left inside that she was willing to part with were a stack of silver rings (fake silver probably, but that was Marinette’s secret) and a strange bronze bee broach that her aunt had gotten her for her birthday three years ago that Marinette never bothered to wear. She dug around her closet for her old hand mirror with the cracked handle and decided that all this was enough. It was probably time to start scouring thrift stores and street fairs, but she’d worry about that later.
She stuffed everything into her bag, grabbed a croissant from the kitchen counter, and started to make her way towards the pier.
It was early enough in the morning that not many people were by the beach with the exception of the occasional fisherman heading to the southern part of the pier with fishing rods and baskets full of bait. Marinette headed in the opposite direction until she came upon a part of the rickety, wooden banister that was damaged, leaving a hole just large enough for Marinette to slip past. She looked around her to make sure no one was watching before she squeezed through the gap and carefully started to shimmy down one of the posts until she was dropping down onto a small bank of rocks underneath the walkway.
Marinette squinted against the sunrise coming just over the horizon as she whistled a quick tune with four long notes and waited.
It only took a few seconds for a glimmering golden fin to breach the surface of the water just a few meters away. Marinette watched the ripples in the water begin to get closer to her until they finally started to swirl around her feet. A blonde head of hair carefully poked up from underneath the water. “Is the coast clear?”
“No one’s around, don’t worry,” Marinette assured. “You can come up.”
“Oh, wonderful.”
Chloe leaned her hands against the bank of rocks and carefully lifted herself up to sit right next to Marinette, stretching her long golden tail out in front of her so that her scales could dry in the sun. She collected all of her hair in her hands and wrung out all the water, being careful not to disturb the chains of pearls she had braided throughout her hair. “You don’t usually come on Tuesdays. Don’t you open up the bakery in the mornings?”
“It’s a holiday today, so school’s out and the bakery is closed,” Marinette explained. “Thought I’d come visit.”
“You’re lucky,” Chloe smirked. “I was just out this morning looking for jellyfish.”
Marinette dug through her bag. “Jellyfish?”
“Of course, darling. Do you think my tail stays this smooth and shiny through will power? Proper tail maintenance is important. It’s downright tragic how other mermaids tend to neglect that.”
“Don’t jellyfish sting?”
“Oh, they do! But the tingle it leaves afterwards is worth it. That means it’s working.”
Marinette chuckled and made sure to file away that little mermaid factoid away for later. She pulled out the stack of silver rings, held it up to the light, and handed it to Chloe. “It’s been a while since I brought you things to add to your collection so I’d thought I’d bring some things by.”
Chloe gasped and snatched it out of Marinette’s hands, rolling it around in her palms and marveling at the way the metal shone in the light. “Oh, they’re so bright!!!”
“Yeah, I thought you might like them. I’ve only worn them once and they’re too big for me so I don’t use them very often.”
Chloe slipped the rings on all of her fingers and found that they were also too big to fit snugly. “That’s okay. I can probably figure out a way to turn it into a hair clip or something. It’s really hard to swim sometimes with your hair getting in your face.”
“I know it’s not diamonds or rubies or anything like that, but you’re good at finding good uses for random things.”
“Ah, finding beauty in even the most lowly of places,” Chloe sighed, fluttering her lashes with a smile. “It’s the saint in me.”
Marinette rolled her eyes. “Yeah, yeah. Alright. Your turn.”
Chloe tapped her finger against her lips before searching the dozens of baubles and doodads she had hooked onto the gold chains hanging around her hips like a belt. It took her a couple of minutes to find what she was looking for, but eventually she cheered and handed Marinette a compass that was caked in dried sand and looked to be a couple hundred years old.
Marinette opened it and found that the needle was stuck and wouldn’t move no matter how much she turned her body. “Huh. Is it broken?”
“Oh I have absolutely no idea what it is,” Chloe said distractedly as she tried to pry apart the rings and twist them into a different shape. “I’ve had it for ages, but it doesn’t do anything and it’s rather big and ugly.”
Marinette scowled. “So you gave it to me because it’s ugly? Thanks a lot, you brat.”
“What? You’re a human. That nonsense was invented by humans. It’s perfect for you. Anyway, what’s it supposed to do?”
“It tells you which direction you’re traveling in. The needle in the middle is supposed to always point north but I think the mechanism is off. Probably belonged to a sailor or something.”
“That’s a stupid old thing to have. Why not just look up at the stars?”
Marinette shrugged. “I’m not much of a sailor so I don’t know whether people still look at the stars. I think compasses are just easier.”
“So how do you get around?”
“GPS mostly. A lot of cellphones have them.”
“What’s a GPS?”
“Oh, it’s uh….it’s like a thing that tells you where you are at all times. You just check your cellphone and it’ll tell you exactly where you are. Cellphones are like little boxes we can use to call people and find out information and all sorts of cool things.”
Chloe rolled her eyes and started to twirl the ends of her hair between her fingers. “Sounds boring.”
Marinette smiled. “Boring, huh? Well, then I guess if it’s so boring I’ll just take the rest of this stuff home with me. You probably won’t be very interested in it anyway – ”
“Hold on a second!! Let me see what you have, don’t just go!”
Marinette always thought that thing in The Little Mermaid about mermaids collecting human things was just something that people made up for the sake of storybooks. But it turns out that it was founded on a lot more truth than Marinette realized. Chloe didn’t really care much for the functionality of the things that interested her. Her favorite things were trinkets that were broken or useless but looked extremely pretty. All things shiny, precious, and golden immediately enchanted her, and she always found a way to turn it into a charm for her belts, a new ring, a new bracelet, a new hair accessory, and countless other strange purposes that Marinette was sure only ever made sense to a mermaid. Marinette learned not to question it. Besides, she as able to convince Chloe into making this like a gift exchange once a week so that Marinette could get something interesting from the ocean as well. Besides, it wasn’t often that people could say they were friends with a mermaid.
She managed to exchange her hand mirror for a vial of crushed sea urchins that doubled as nail polish and exchange her bee broach for a pair of earrings that were actually just broken shell pieces attached to what looked like an old, thin fishhook. Strange gifts, but Marinette didn’t want to be rude by refusing them. Besides, she was more interested in the stories that went along with Chloe’s gifts rather than the gifts themselves. Chloe’s picky, snooty, and sarcastic behavior became tolerable whenever she told one of her tall tales. It wasn’t everyday that you got to listen to adventures about swimming to the United States, diving down into the ocean until it was too dark to see, dodging storms, and scouring ship wrecks. Marinette was tempted to take the time to find Chloe a really amazing and expensive gift only so that she’ll get some fantastical story in return.
“Oh!” Chloe exclaimed after she put away her presents, her tail splashing around the surface and soaking Marinette’s pants with seawater. “I totally forgot to tell you! I found the most amazing thing the other day and I think you’d love it!”
“What?”
“I found this old rowboat near my home that must have sunk a few years ago,” Chloe started explaining. “But there was a trunk in the back that had a bunch of clothes in them. Sort of like what you’re wearing, but there were so many more things. Like those strange things you put on your feet to walk around. These wire-things that have two circles of glass on them that I think you may need to look through. And head things! Stuff that go on your head. Hats? Yeah, I think they’re called hats.”
Marinette giggled. “Did you take anything?”
“No, I have to go back,” Chloe said. “But I figured I’d come and ask you if you wanted some of it first. You said you sew clothing and things right? I mean the clothes are a little dirty but they should still be okay with a few washes. Remind me. I’ll bring the trunk over next time.”
“Oh perfect! I won’t have to buy fabric later.”
“You….buy fabric?”
“Don’t start.”
Chloe lifted her hands. “Okay, okay, fine. Humans are confusing and ridiculous. Get used to it. I’ve got it.”
“I was saying,” Marinette continued. “That if you managed to bring those old clothes back I can bring you some bakery sweets.”
Chloe’s eyes lit up. “Sweets?”
“Mmhm. With sugar and honey and milk and all sorts of things you don’t have in the ocean. Trust me, I have a couple more things you might like.”
“Ohhhh, is it going to make me fat?” Chloe asked, pressing her hands to her stomach. “I promised myself I would go on a bit of a diet this month.”
“A small amount won’t do anything, so I’ll only bring a couple,” Marinette promised. “Besides, you have a pretty bad sweet tooth ever since I brought you those cookies the first time and I feel like I just have to keep enabling you since it’s too far gone to stop.”
Chloe smirked. “Revisiting an old shipwreck and plundering for treasure in exchange for sweets is almost universally worth it.”
Marinette laughed. “Nice to know we’re on the same page. I’m off again tomorrow, so maybe I’ll bring them then.”
“You better,” Chloe warned. “I’m going to break a couple of nails getting this trunk for you, so the least you can do is pay in human food.”
“Your sacrifices will be most appreciated.”
“Was that sarcasm?”
“in front of you? I’m offended you would think so.”
“I’ll have you know it’s a lot of work to make my nails this strong.”
“What, is there special mermaid nail maintenance that I should know about?”
“You know? It’s funny you should say that – “
“Oh no no no, stop, I was kidding, I don’t want to hear it!”
“ – because as a matter of fact there is! Oh, it’s good you don’t have any plans today because this might take a while. You see, there’s this special kind of moss you have to get, right….”
