hey hey hey all! happy halloween and happy birthday to me, aaand happy last day of punchtober!! i decided to dump the prompts i’ve done today instead of tomorrow like i usually do because 1, i have rehearsal tomorrow and im gonna be so so tired after, and 2, i thought it’d be better to do it day of bc of the holiday and my birthday, so it’s cool

kabuki i also don't think about very much. but, i know well what it's like to like a character that at most 2 other people feel the same way about, so i shall feed the kabuki fan (and the hoy fan) that i am still certain exists

so this one's a bit different. i wrote something! in french, so that my poor writing skills can just be chocked up to not knowing french too well! translations will be in parentheses

i used the azure jaw enhancement instead of charoite since the metal on the azure one is darker and knower's mask is black. tbf her mask has a bit of blue on it sometimes

her primary is specifically ruby tapir bc of its blue accent color – its intentionally hidden on the outfitted dragon, but if you take off the mask/gloves/leg guards, you can see the blue. this is, of course, a reference to her former identity as the youngest (blue-colored)

principal has the same secondary gene as iris, since she has a strand of iris' hair

Halloween Haunting: Dragon’s Rage

Warning: Spoilers of Halloween event

You head to the entrance when the door suddenly opens and a flood of stimuli overwhelms your senses. Gasps, compliments, camera flashes, people shoving to get in, students telling them to get out, ghosts wailing about being followed, visitors demanding you make a pose, tourists crying out to get a picture with Grim, and it’s too much. If there was an off switch or a cancel button, you’d click that right about now.

“STOP!” Grim demands and breathes a row of fire to deter the careless visitors. It makes them stop in their tracks but for all the wrong reasons.

“Oooh! The racoon breathes fire!” one notes while snapping picture.

“Welcome to my livestream! Watch the monster!” another announces. 

“Grim! Meet me at the graveyard! Go out the door, fast and above all the visitors,” you instruct while formulating a plan.

“What? You’re ordering me around?” You’re surprised he has the spare energy to bicker with you as his flames begin to die down.

“Just trust me!” You hear something about a tuna can, but Grim listens and zips past the crowd. It’s enough to distract them and give you time to slam the door shut. You take some broken furniture and push it against the door to create a barricade. 

Your phone goes off with a text from Deuce: “Watch our for magicam monsters!! Diamond-senpai says theyre everywhere in the school” 

But before you can think much about the text, you hear thunder. There’s not a cloud in the sky and the Diasomnia dorm never said anything about sound effects, so you know something has gone wrong before lunch which is quite frankly rude.

You decide to shrink your scythe and face whatever disaster has occurred. You sneak out through a back entrance and make sure to lock it. By the time you make it to the Diasomnia stamp venue, you’re greeted by the sight of Sebek with a wand in hand and trying to conjure up lightning!

“The difficulty of the Draconia Challenge got higher!” a visitor comments. You’re not sure why they’re watching rather than running away from the area where lightning is raining down, but when your gaze lands on Malleus you realize that you’ve got bigger problems to tackle. 

Rage paints Malleus’ expression and his glare emanates such malice, even though you’ve done no wrong it’s enough to make you stop in your tracks. You can’t believe the fairy who geeked out over gargoyles and didn’t so much as blink when Kalim ran into him is now about to electrify some tourists!

“Silver. Before Malleus hits the magicam monsters with lightning, let’s chase them away from campus,” Lilia instructs.

What do you do next?

Help Lilia and Silver move the Magicam monsters away from the Ramshackle Dorm

Make up a fake challenge to get the Magicam monsters to a different location, then comfort Malleus

Kiss Malleus to distract him!

Talk to Malleus to try and calm him down while reminding him why he came to NRC in the first place

so first up my wonderful snapper mom, chalcedony.

my lair is a little garden that sprung up in an icefield basically and it's tended to by a variety of plant-loving dragons. chalcedony is the clan mother of a subspecies of dragons i made called geodes, who are themed after minerals and crystals, and are all lionfish/stained to give a striated appearance. they are very peaceable and live very slow, long lives, like tortoises, appreciating the nature they tend as it grows.

chalcedony loves friends and tea! she's always growing some new herb that she'd love to brew into Tasty Leaf Water. she has drying herbs constantly hung around her person, so she smells like a tea garden.

here's hallowed and evelynne, my gomez and morticia themed dragons. both of them were random gifts to me and i made a family around them.

hallowed is a playful bard who loves trickmurk circus (fr equivalent of halloween) and is always waiting to celebrate. basically he's the one reblogging ITS SPOOPY TIME in june. he found the poet evelynne wandering in the snowfields after she'd been outcast from her clan, and they clicked and realised they were perfect for each other and petitioned to have her adopted into the garden clan.

i havent really built them much beyond They're Good Parents who love nightmare fuel. but they did go on to adopt the most hot topic baby whomst i cherish and adore

geitura! she's the fluffy pinstriped spookgirl of the family, with goat eyes and continually blooming (and dying) red flowers. she's a bit gothy but not cruel with it, she just loves the spoop and takes it a bit too far sometimes. i try and take her out trick or treating when those events run on the forums (its a little rp thing, go up to someone's door, introduce yourself and leave an item or three). sadly you can't put hatchlings in a costume but she is always dressed silly. paper bag hat, giant mecha, whatever

i don't have a story for darklight but theyre transmasc and live under the frozen lake that borders the lair. they hang out often with

taghte. she's a witch, some say. lives at the bottom of the lake, scribes on special paper that is repulsive to water, and to aethers, before they ask.

bubsy, the aether who doesnt wants to eat your papers so bad. 🥺 he is a whole actual dad. often gets lost in the forest

Sayu: definitely focuses on the ocean cookies, really likes sorbet n mains a difficult to beat sea fairys luminous coral & sorbet combi

Sayu crew: probably the same focus as sayu! Remi focuses on building the most powerful combi of the sea cookies, sofa and dodo probably focus on squid ink & peppermint, and tila probably uses the same combi as sayu

Yinu: suprisingly really good. Can beat out most of the other artists. Probably went as pink choco for halloween one year

Yinus mom: i can see her making a combi with millennial tree. Wind archer reminds me of her a lot. Maybe shed make a combi of both? Really likes child cookies, like walnut and chesnut. Probably shies away from using them competitively

Neon J: I can see him focusin on Captain Ice! He probably builds a combi around her, probably with Peppermint bc it reminds him of 1010

White: likes captain ice, partially for the leader role, partially to feel closer to neon. Theyre pretty good, n not easy to beat. Nothing too special though. Has good luck collecting cookies n thier costumes

Red: i can see them focusing on fire spirit! Theyre probably pretty solidly on the side of pitaya in the dragon debate. Probably rages at trophy race (fair)

Yellow: absolutely adores the kid cookies. Probably builds combis around them, n though yellow may not be the best at choosing combis to run with, theyre sure having fun

Blue: was the first to beat trophy race. Really good, but still loses occasionally to white n some of the other artists. Likes dj cookie. Other artists probably have compared them to blackberry a couple times

Green: likes the memey cookies, like herb! They dont run competitively much, but when they do, theyre the one to beat

Eve: goes for aesthetic more often than not, but stories drag her in too. Whatever draws her too a cookie, shell fixate on them and make them wildly powerful. Probably was one of those people who thrived in land 8, maybe even painted it a few times.

Tatiana: despite the similarities in temporal magic, tati Doesnt Like timekeeper. Like neon, she prefers captain ice, and probably builds a combi around her.

Dk west: probably goes for aesthetic mainly? I can see him possibly liking cyborg cookie. Whoever he chooses though, hell try to make them powerful. Bad at choosing combis, definitely relies on wasabi too much.

​ to answer some guild wars 2 questions! putting it under a tag because i think it’ll get a little long <3 thank you for tagging me!!

1. Do you have an idea before or after creating a character? normally i have a basic frame for creating a character, but i primarily get most of the characterization beats after i’ve made them. i remember in making my dragon age characters, i had an idea for what they should look like, but i let the story take me through the types of people they would end up becoming, and for being my first introduction to making characters that would stick with me for many many years, i think i adopted the same process for making other game characters like my dragonborn and then my guild wars 2 fellas too

for instance, i knew when i first made Arkus way way back when the game first came out that i wanted a pretty green fella who threw fire, etc; then as i progressed through the character creation and through making personal story decisions, i realized i was being drawn towards a particular characterization for him, one that’s sort of a know-it-all who loosens up over the course of his arc, etc

2. Which race is your favorite to imagine a story about?

probably sylvari! there’s a lot of really interesting stuff about them, and i get a lot of soulmate vibes out of the dream ;u;

3. Which race is your favorite to customize?

i primarily play human and sylvari but dhfgdjfghk i really dont do a lot of customizing unless it’s for specific character purposes? im not sure i do have a favorite! all of my characters have an aesthetic or color scheme i attach to them, and i might update them sometimes to closer approach that aesthetic vision i have for them. Arkus is dressed in whites and teals with the occasional tiny detail of red, and his mounts follow a similar scheme (his raptor i actually made to look like the moon); Eridunis is dressed in red and gold with the occasional tiny detail of green, and his mounts, again, follow the same scheme, and some of them are made to look like the sun

across my other characters, ive done similar things, and i think theyre all really fun to customize in their own ways!

4. Does the profession play a role in the visual?

yes! although not always in like an obvious way. Arkus is a weaver, he uses a staff, he now has the bifrost, so his outfit in many ways matches that. Eridunis is a Reaper, he uses a greatsword, he now has sunrise, so that follows his sun motif.

5. Do you often use the same faces?

i dont have a lot of characters rip lol they all have pretty different faces. i have 2 sylvari, one guy and one girl; 2 humans, both guys but one is meant to look significantly older, so they have very different faces (and i made the older man out to look like a particular character from another game; 2 norn, both guys, one i modeled after my skyrim character and the other i definitely made to look very different; and 1 charr guy, so like. clearly he’s on his own haha

6. Do you often use the same skin colors?

for three of my human-looking characters, they have lighter skin, so i guess yes in that case, but two of them were based on other characters who themselves have light skin. the fourth is Eridunis, and i specifically designed him to look Cuban, to match my family

as for the sylvari, i definitely designed them to have very different aesthetics and very different skin colors. one is green, and the other is sort of purple-ish

7. Do you often use the same tattoos? only two of my characters have tattoos in guild wars 2, both of them definitely different

8. Do you use the sliders for the face or not? yes! i definitely adjusted some things around for i think most of my characters

9. Do you bother to pick colors for the starter armor or not? oh absolutely--like i said, i always have an aesthetic im going for with the character, and i might not actually know what that aesthetic is until i get to that stage of character creation. i try to make each very different anyway!

10. Do you pick carefully the choices for your character base story? for Arkus and Eridunis, yes; i always try very hard to choose things that will align with my ideas for their personalities. and i still wish we had those emotional responses too!! Arkus was always the diplomatic / crown persona; Eridunis was always the charismatic / heart persona with a little bit of the diplomacy later, as he gets more mature

11. If no, is it always the same choices (ie. easiest to complete)? for my other characters, i dont really do story stuff! so i tend to go with what’s easiest or what’s most neutral. although i did make the choice in Amnoon to side with Joko’s army once, and once without taking any help (my primary choice for Amnoon was to invite the Sunspears), only to forward that achievement in the hero panel

12. Do you not bother at all and only use a makeover kit once in game? ive only used makeover kits like..... potentially once. i used it to revamp my sylvari girl and give her a slightly different vibe. i like where my characters are at right now, but i’ve considered altering some of my other characters too a couple times. i might go through with it one day but im happy for now!

13. Do you like/use exclusive faces/hairstyles more? nope! i think i have an exclusive color on my aforementioned sylvari girl, but i’ve considered using an exclusive hairstyle for one of my nords, but i just havent decided it yet

14. Outfit or armor? both for different characters! Eridunis has worn the same outfit for some time now, but Arkus flits between several outfits and even one armor set (the outfits are for different environments, the armor is for when he’s in Research Mode). other characters i primarily have wearing armor, but most of them have like their “favorite outfit” that i might occasionally put them in

15. Do you stick with one armor for each character or do you change a lot? like i said in the last answer, Eridunis wears one outfit all the time and never changes (although i might update the colors sometimes); Arkus was wearing one armor set for a while and would wear an outfit in certain environments, and then i upgraded him to a different outfit, and most recently ive updated him to yet another outfit; the others i have even more flexibility with, i’ll sometimes change what they’re wearing if i find something i think will look good on them. sometimes i even look through the armor in the bank wardrobe, whether i have a skin or not, and i’ll internally plan out what i should work towards obtaining later

16. If yes, why? Is it for “RP” reasons or just aesthetic ones? aesthetic!

17. Do you have a timeline for your characters (ie. date of birth, armors throughout the story)? oh yes.... but only for Arkus and Eridunis primarily. Sibheal, my sylvari girl, sometimes fits in, but i haven’t worked out the details on her yet

18. Is there a title you use more than another? it changes from character to character, but yes for each

19. If yes, which one and why? Eridunis is “Romantic” but sometimes i put “Emissary of the Mad King” on him for halloween; other times i’ll use “The Inevitable” if im feeling spicy

Arkus is always “Archaeologist”, i know Morten is “Bounty Hunter,” and i believe Sibheal is “The Blazing Light.” the others i cant remember but i keep the same ones on them, each of them different from each other but mostly unchanging

20. What is a big difference from when you started the game to now in regard of characters creation (ie. going faster, going slower, making bold choices, settling on a particular style, etc)? again, i dont really create a lot of characters, but i’ve always taken my time... i think if anything it has become easier to settle on an aesthetic because i know i’ll be able to update things like armor and color later, to get closer to the vibe i envision. the last character i made was modeled after a character in a different game, so naturally i built his look to follow that particular aesthetic and wardrobe (after finishing character creation of course)

im looking to make some new friends, pen pals and online buddies! im starting uni in a year (big yikes) studying photography and computer arts.

yea, im t h a t stressed art student your parents warned you about.

some stuff about me:

>> i used to be a slytherin but then i got sorted as a hufflepuff when i did the test more recently (the slytherin sorting was about 8 years ago) so now im a proud slytherpuff

>> autumn is,,, my month,,, i can’t explain it,, just the whole aesthetic, cosy blankets, big hoodies, hot chocolate, halloween, spiced apple and cinnamon candles,, it’s my aesthetic. im like,, a human personification of autumn.

>> im a singer,,, i love all things musical and play the guitar and the ukulele but im so shy and very rarely properly sing in public,, it’s an issue.

>> im a huge fan of podcasts like the adventure zone, critical role, welcome to nightvale, talks machina, my brother my brother and me and la: by night. (they’re what got me into dnd and i highly recommend all of them!)

>> in terms of music taste it’s wild and all over the place, from dodie to my chemical romance (THEYRE BACK!!) and back to cavetown to camila cabrello. with a soft nostalgic spot in my heart for taylor swift, sabrina carpenter and panic! at the disco.

my hobbies:

> i am an aspiring writer who has far too many unfinished plots, about 100 original characters who i love and a dodgy laptop.

> im addicted to books and that’s fine by me. (especially fantasy and historical fiction and sci-fi)

> art (the love and pain of my life)

> mythology (especially greek - i was (and am) a big fan of the percy jackson books) and cryptids!! (mothman IS REAL and he LOVES YOU)

> painting and sketching (my original characters and portraits of my friends - like you!)

> dungeons and dragon (IM *THAT* NERD) but seriously it’s amazing.

> i love to take photos (well i am a pre photography student) but ive always taken them on my phone and now the uni is expecting me to have,,, like,,, a real camera and im literally gonna just have to hand them my phone and be like,,,, here this is my camera. editing apps are your best friend for sharpening photos fam.

> i am also invested in a number of fandoms (particularly netflix series) like she-ra, avatar: the last air bender, the chilling adventures of sabrina, harry potter, all of rick riordans work, marvel, critical role and so much more i’ve probably forgotten.

but other than that anyone who can write and also talk and have fun chat online (insta or tumblr) im very chill and open minded (a member of the LGBT+ community myself, campaigner for women’s rights and climate change ambassador so if you’re against any of those things we might not get on XP) i can very happily get into a political debate but feel free to tell me to shut up if you’re just wanting to forget for a few precious seconds that politics exists.
