Just realized something about Frieren. The lady specifically rather than the story. Frieren sees herself as a mother to Fern. She says this explicitly a ways into the manga. I'd have to hunt for the specific panel but it's there. And. This kind of conflicts with a lot of their dynamic you know. How it seems to be much more of a relationship of equals, Fern doing as much to carry her along the road as she does her. More, on a surface level even. Not, of course, that I'm talking strictly about the surface level. But that is something to note.

And I thought, just now. About Flamme. Picking her up when she was so so so so young. I could talk about how her lack of connection to any sort of 'elven' culture plays into my aroace and autistic headcanon for her. Though it's less of a headcanon and more one of the only reasonable readings.. but I digress.

My point with Flamme is. We are taught the ways in which we love. And I am so very sure that. Frieren's model for how she acts as a parent to Fern is based on how Flamme acted as a parent to her. It's not a very conventional model. It's not a very good one. To be frank, I don't think Fern ever really had time to be a child. But as methods of helping another war orphan grow and develop go.. there could be worse. And there's something in that.

Kaiba is very strict about maintaining his public image, he actively despises showing any form of weakness or affection in front of other people, especially with his upbringing. He sees PDA as a form of showing said weakness, and despite that bothering Eve a little bit, she does her best to respect his wishes. At best she'll get a confident smirk from him, and he always lets her ride on him when they're out together, but nothing else.

In private, however, they can't get enough of each other. Cuddles, kisses, snuggling, they cover each other in affection. Eve is naturally incredibly affectionate, so nothing brings her more joy than to finally be able to snuggle up to her big Kaiju of a boyfriend, and Kaiba is usually more than willing to compensate. Plus, since Kaiba isn't an entirely cuddly person, it helps that Eve is so small, so that when they actually cuddle he doesn't get irritated or overwhelmed by her (Though he'd never tell her that) 🌸

There might be plans for this in the future ;) but yes, they do. It’s very much giving girl dad energy, their daughter takes in Jake’s footsteps and loves football, is always walking around with a little pink clipboard she’s made of game plans. They have a son too, but as hard as Jake and Bradley both try (leaving footballs and baseballs around, etc), he asks for a hockey stick for Christmas and they sigh and turn around and becomes the ultimate hockey dads, homemade shirts and cookies for the team parents (which Bradley teaches Jake how to make) and all. The little Bradshaw-Seresin clan is sideline at every one of Jake’s games, and sometimes Jake comes home and sees them all baking in the kitchen, and he just leans against the wall and smiles until he grabs some flour and throws it on Bradley, which starts a family flour fight. Carole, Nick, and Mav absolutely dote on the grandkids, but the funniest thing of all is their daughter is obsessed with Cyclone, who is terrified of children lmao
