We’re excited to announce a beach/summer-themed Yugioh! event, taking place from Aug 16th through Aug 21st. Below the cut, you’ll find the event rules and a list of prompts!

Prompts

Day One (August 16th): Sandcastle Competition/Bonfire

Day Two (August 17th): Volleyball Tournament/Firework Show

Day Three (August 18th): Swimsuit Competition/Ice Cream

Day Four (August 19th): Free Pass! Write anything beach/summer related!

Day Five (August 20th): Deep Sea Diving/Tanning

Day Six (August 21st): Boardwalk Carnival/Sea Shell Collecting

Each day has two prompts for you to choose from, minus the fourth, which is already a free day!

Rules

– This server is 18+, so please at least be 18 if you’d like to participate!

– NSFW content is accepted, but must be tagged properly!

– No AI under any circumstances!

– This event will have LGBTQ content, if you have a problem with that, don’t interact with this event!

– OCs, Reader inserts and Canon pairings are allowed!

– No crossovers please, this is a strictly Yugioh event!

– If you would like, you may submit 1-2 artworks!

– use the tag #asplashofsummer2025 on Tumblr and Ao3, and add your fic to the Ao3 collection (to be revealed closer to the date of the event) so we can find and share your work on here!

– Late submissions will be allowed until September 2nd!

I really want to express my gratitude towards the community! I honestly didn't know this would get as much as attention as it did but I am very happy it did!

I am very happy to see how the community all came together to pay respect to Kazuki Takahashi like one big family , to show their love and impactful stories of how Yu-Gi-Oh! had a special place in our hearts.

Truly , for me he never passed away because he has all of us to always keep his spirit alive , so his soul , heart and work will always be immortal.

I feel like thank you is not enough of a word for me to express how happy I am for everyone participating in this heartwarming event.

Lets all say together in one voice so he hears us and knows how much we cherish him and his work!!

My own tribute post to the #HonorKazukiTakahashi2025 challenge that I hosted.

I've never drawn dragons in my life so I did my best for this one! To be fair I was kind of struggling to get things across as I wanted until this hit just right.

I really can't believe that 3 years have already passed since the great Takahashi sensei has passed.... but in reality he is always with us! Through the card game , through all the fans , through all of the art , through every mention of Yu-Gi-Oh! till this day. For me he never left because we are here to keep his spirit alive , he is immortal!!!

So one big thank you Kazuki Takahashi for the most amazing childhood.

~ My entry for @cardsbizarreadventure 's Art Challenge ~

In memory of Kazuki Takahashi, the creator of Yu-Gi-Oh.

His work meant a great deal to me, as it was his artwork and sketches that drove me to try and better my own work. The amount of effort he put into his style and rendering to this day inspires me to be better, so constantly learn and grow my creations like he has.

For this challenge, I drew my favorite and most impactful character, Seto Kaiba. This creation, this character, has had such a genuine impact on my life. I always found him to be so unbelievably relatable, especially with his backstory, and he constantly inspires me to strive to be stronger.

Thank you, Kazuki Takahashi, for your creation and for the inspiration you gave to both me and thousands of others. You are very dearly missed.
