Note
So, uh, what does Sonic do, apart from freeing Bermuda, when he finds out Dread was kinda, uh, torturing him?
dread is lucky sonic has his hands full with half-dead fish or else he'd knock him to the floor for treating bermuda like that. he always knew knuckles was a knuckle head, but seeing dread so lacking of knuckles' moral compass upsets him. like-- is it worth it, man? your dream of becoming a legendary sea captain might just end with you becoming a monster instead

Shatter Me, Entry 0: Fight Together
Tumblr media
''Let's leave before the dawn shows. Let's go meet a tomorrow we haven't seen yet. There's no regret about this decision. (Oh I know what I'm supposed to do). What kind of trial awaits ahead? My heart just can't stop beating fast. The place I want to reach is just one. (Fly to the light!) The bonds I got at the end of the fight, I won't let anyone break them. If I just open the fists I grasped, I find my strength lying there.''
– Fight Together by One Piece
xXxXxXx
''Goodbye, Roses…''
Shadow's ears flicked as he heard Sonic's weakened voice, bidding goodbye to his friends who came to escort him to Green Hill. Unfortunately, with the ship being too damaged, it was up to Shadow to help Sonic in the last stretch of their journey through The Void.
Having placed Sonic's arm over his shoulder, Shadow held onto his waist with his other hand, the two leaping from one crystal to another. Sonic was in a very bad condition, his body fading fast. Shadow sneaked a glance at his rival, the sense of concern only growing when he saw that, while he still could hold onto Sonic, he was becoming more and more transparent, like a ghost.
''Agh!''
Sonic gasped in pain as he felt another jolt coursing through his body, his shape distorting for a brief moment. He fell on his knees, with Shadow still holding onto him. A sense of dread and panic set in, with Shadow taking a quick glance at the gate that led to Green Hill, estimating the distance. Then, he quickly scooped Sonic up in his arms, placing his hands under his legs and back as he carried him towards Green Hill, towards safety. He was speeding across the crystal they had landed on, aware that Sonic had little time left. He needed to get him to Green Hill as fast as possible, not wanting to think about what would happen if he failed.
''I never knew you were a hugger.''
Shadow felt his heart leap when he heard Sonic again, glancing down at him. The once azure hedgehog had a cheeky smile on his fawn lips, only to get interrupted by another jolt of pain. Clearly, even at death's door he had to get at least one more quip in. Shadow couldn't help but respond in a snarky tone.
''Do you want me to save you or not?''
Shadow saw Sonic flashing another grin, clearly amused that Shadow decided to continue the banter, only for another jolt of pain to pass through his body. Shadow's eyes widened in horror, and he almost felt his heart stopping as Sonic suddenly fainted, his limp arm swaying.
This was bad. This was really bad. Shadow picked up the pace, skating faster and faster. He leapt from the crystal onto another, aware that Sonic's life depended on him. If he failed to get Sonic to Green Hill… No, did not want to think about that. But still, the gateway seemed to be still too far away.
Gritting his teeth, Shadow focused all of his energy into this one jump, flying through The Void like a shooting star, followed by several sonic booms. His heart was now beating rapidly as his gaze fixated on the Green Hill gateway, the light coming closer and closer.
''HANG ON SONIC!''
He could feel Sonic's limp body almost fading out of his hands, and he tightened his grip. He refused to lose him to The Void. He refused to let go of him. Nothing else mattered aside from this one moment. Shadow narrowed his eyes as the bright light of the gateway illuminated them. He had to make it! He simply had to!
Then, he passed through it… and everything went white.
xXx
Shadow opened his eyes, feeling a sense of dizziness. His arms were light, too light for his comfort, and he realized that the reason for this was because he wasn't carrying Sonic anymore.
''No, no, no… Sonic! Sonic!'' Shadow shouted as he looked around for the azure hedgehog, the dread and panic swirling inside him like a storm. He refused to believe that Sonic was gone. He had to be somewhere here… in Green Hill.
Shadow stopped for a moment, breathing heavily as he finally took a good look at his surroundings. He was back at Green Hill, and everything looked like it used to be before. Green Hill was back to its lush and vibrant colours instead of looking like a shell of its former self. They had managed to restore their home.
Shadow's gaze then turned towards the mountain where the Paradox Prism cave was, and he quickly leapt, rushing towards it. He sped past Big, skating towards the mouth of the cave, only to be washed over by an overwhelming wave of relief. Sonic was there, and he was still alive, sticking close to his friends as they defended the Paradox Prism from Dr. Eggman.
While Shadow did not completely understand the situation fully, he did realize that by entering Green Hill, he and Sonic were brought back to the moment right before the shattering of the Paradox Prism. However, the previous time Shadow arrived at the cave, he was too late to stop Sonic from shattering it. Now, it was clear that Sonic actually listened to his friends, keeping close to them, with this one change preventing their reality from shattering once again.
Shadow had to wonder whether Sonic remembered the events, only to get a confirmation a moment later when Dr. Eggman approached Sonic and his friends. Sonic looked up, gazing past the doctor, his jaw dropping when he saw Shadow at the entrance to the cave.
Their exchange was wordless, with Shadow swiping his hand across the air, revealing the green Chaos Emerald, that had miraculously returned back from the decaying space of The Void, and Sonic nodded in response, agreeing with his plan.
Both knew in that moment that their memories of the Shatterverse were still there, but for now, they had more pressing matters to deal with. Even if Sonic didn't shatter the Paradox Prism this time, they still needed to deal with Dr. Eggman before he could use the Prism for his nefarious plans.
''This world is mine!'' Dr. Eggman exclaimed, only for him and Sonic's friends to be surprised when Shadow appeared seemingly out of nowhere on top of the Paradox Prism. ''Huh? Shadow? What the heck are you doing here?!''
''I am the Ultimate Lifeform,'' Shadow declared in a firm tone, holding the Chaos Emerald tightly in his hand. ''I go wherever I want.''
''Wh-huh?''
Dr. Eggman was left as confused as the rest of Sonic's team, while Shadow held up the Chaos Emerald.
''CHAOS CONTROL!''
Shadow and the Paradox Prism then vanished, leaving Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Rouge immensely confused and with a lot of questions on their mind, as Shadow was the last person they had expected to appear and help them.
''NOOOOOO! What have you DONE?!'' Dr. Eggman screamed, punching the mech in frustration.
Sonic, in turn, felt elated about the turn of events, leaping onto the empty rock where the Paradox Prism once was and turning back to the mad doctor with a wide smile on his expression. He knew that he would have to seek out Shadow later on to thank him for everything he had done, but now, it was time for some heroic last words in the wake of Eggman's defeat.
''Sorry, Eggman, but when you've got a crew like mine, there is nothing that can stop you.''

Bitter Blood [A HungryHero.EXE fanfic]
Tumblr media
“I can't wait to gut you out.”
(CW: descriptions of blood, gore, violence, bad language, and death)
A day used to feel short. Days that, even if it were cloudy and dull, would feel as cheery and sunny as always. Short days. Hours that felt like seconds. Today those hours felt agonizing. The cloudy sky was cold. The air, suffocating. Even a minute now felt like weeks. These emerald hills, this world, it didnt feel the same anymore. Not without him.
Why…. Why was he there? Why was he right there? Right there in the line of fire! He didn’t need to be here! Why was he there? Was it because of him? Because hes a canibal? Maybe he thought that he needed to help protect his image and thats why he came. Oh god. No. No it could’nt have been his fault! No! No No its not his fault! Its not his fault! Its- .... Shadow... Its Shadow’s fault. Its all his fucking fault!
That god damn dark and brooding prick! He couldn’t keep his mouth shut. He had to say something. Had to open his fucking mouth! He made him doubt. Doubt everything that he had thought about him. Made him think that he wasnt the best older brother hes ever had. But, Tails was always independent, even if at times he had to rely on his friends. It was expected, he was a kid. But out of everything, everything that that little fox had went through... It wasn't him, he wasn't thinking clearly, that fucking mutant made him confused. Whatever he said to him, it didn't matter, he implanted that stupid little thought in his head! And now he's gone... Because of him.
“.... I think its time to pay ol’ dark and handsome a visit”
———————
A black hedgehog stood atop one of the many loops of green hills. The naturally generated loops ironically always seemed just the slightest bit unnatural. Even so, they made great viewpoints when sat atop their grassy caps. Shadow, of course, knew this, he would always take advantage of their beautiful viewpoints when he wasn’t in the cities. It, accompanied by the quietness of the stripped fields and checkered soil, waved a calmness over the hedgehog. He wished Maria could see this place the most...
His thick fur shot up, a feeling of dread overwhelmed his body. He was not alone. Something was coming for him. His eyes darted around the area, his ears scanning the area for any noticable sound. His own breath and heartbeat felll silent to his ears. All that was around him was the sound of the wind and.... The dark hedgehog moved to the side just enough for a blurry blue streak to whizz by, barely grazing his nose. It created a sizable crater in the ground once it landed. The force it must've had to create that would have killed him almost instantly if they had collided.
Shadow watched as a blue hedgehog lifted itself from the rubble, coming out with no more than a few scratches and missaligned quills. It was Sonic. The hedgehog’s green eyes starred daggers into his own. A silver object glistened from him through the dust of the crater, A weapon. He waisted no time, Shadow dashed away, over the green hills, as fast as his air shoes could take him. He had no issue with matching or even surpassing Sonic’s speed at times, but something about that stare, how much velocity he needed to hite the ground with that much force…
Shadow ducked as the blue hedgehog came from his path with the intent to kill, narrowly missing his skin. He was in front of him? How was that possible? How fast was this hedgehog? Shadow watched as Sonic skidded and pivoted on a dime, using his momentum to come right towards him. He was always more skilled at his pacing than he was. A wobbly misstep threw Shadow off ballance, and sent the two hedgehogs crashing into each other, sent spinning and tumbling down the barred hills. At the bottom, the black hedgehog kicked the blue killer off forcefully, throwing him to the ground a few feet ahead. The two were quick to hop to their feet and back into battle. Shadow took a fighting stance.
“Enough! Stop this, Sonic!” Shadow shouted “Nothing good will come out of anything that you are trying to do!”
“Yeah, that’s where your wrong, Shadow” Sonic said “something good will come out of this… for me!” The hedgehog pulled out the decently sized blade he had kept hidden. He stared at Shadow, holding it with the intent to kill
“You plan to kill me? Have you forgotten who I am?” Shadow raised his fists at the blue hedgehog before him, he barred his sharp fangs “I AM the Ultimate Lifeform! I was built to be an ultimate weapon, but chose to protect others instead! I AM made of love! I AM the true hero of mobius! And I am not afraid to kill you to protect the world i voued fifty years ago, Sonic the Hedgehog!”
Admittedly Sonic was hurt by shadows comment, but it didn’t break him. He rolled his eyes “yeah, but i think it’s gonna be a lot harder without this thing” he outheald a green gem that glistened the same colour as his eyes. It was a chaos emerald.
Shadow patted his sides “what? How did you-!”
“You see, here’s the thing Shad. Of the whole time we’ve known eachother, i want you to know… I was holding back!”
Instantly the speedy hedgehog was gone, and just as quickly Shadow’s guard was up. If Sonic really wanted to kill him, he needed to be close. It didn’t seem like he was using chaos control, if he was then he could pick up on his chaos signature. Given enough foccus and it would be easy to track him. No, He could just faintly hear his footsteps, smell that sickly sweet iron smell that accompanied him. He was fast, faster than anything shadow had witnessed. he seemed as fast as super sonic. But he hasnt used the chaos emeralds. Has he really been holding back this whole-
A knife held sloppily, but with enough force could kill, grazed Shadows cheek as he narrowly doged another one of the blue hedgehogs attacks. “He’s to fast!” Shadow panicked eternally. He barely dodged another quick strike from the blade, it grazed off a few hairs of his fur. “I need chaos control if I can get a chance to-“
Shadow was spun like a corkscrew in the air and slammed hard into the grassy ground with a deafening thud. His ears rang from the force, he could have sworn he had a cuncussion. The blade plunged into his side and dragged across his stomach. A loud and horrid scream came out of him as Sonics eyes carefully watched the blade glide across his dark body, now stained with his green blood. He tried to move his foot up to push the hedgehog away, but it was quickly slammed back down to the ground with enough force that it should’ve broken it.
“FUCK!” Shadow yelped at his injuries. He bared his teeth and cursed at Sonic. “You’re fucking derranged-!”
Sonic grabbed him by his chin and brought him close to his own face “AND YOU’RE A FUCKING MURDERER!” He screamed.
“I didn’t do anything!”
“THEN WHY IS MY BROTHER DEAD, SHADOW? EXPLAIN THAT!”
“I-it was his choice! He could have left at any time! He could have not been there at all! But he came and he stayed because HE WANTED TO STOP YOU!”
A blade pierced through shadows hand. “DONT TALK TO ME LIKE YOU KNOW HOW HE IS! YOU WERENT THE ONE TO RAISE HIM!”
“AND YOU DO? YOU JUST CANT ADMIT THAT HE WOULD EVER BETRAY YOU-“ shadow screamed again, the knife turned in his palm.
“I’VE BEEN WITH HIM HIS WHOLE LIFE! SINCE HE WAS THREE GOD DAMN YEARS OLD! I HAVE BEEN THERE EVERY TIME HES NEEDED ME! I HAVE DONE MORE FOR HIM THAN YOU COULD EVER DO!” Sonics grip tightened on shadows face. His sharp fangs barred, all to the back hedgehog. “AND YOU! YOU JUST COULDNT KEEP YOUR STUPID PRETTY FACE QUIET LIKE USUAL, YOU HAD TO SAY SOMETHING! HAD TO MAKE HIM DOUBT ME!”
Shadow whimpered. He glowered at the cannibal “And so what if I did? None of this would have happened if you had just learned some self control! All of it... It’s all your fau- AUGH!”
Sonic plunged the knife into shadows shoulder, digging it in all the way to the handle “WHO WAS THE ONE WHO IMPLANTED THAT THOUGHT OF DOUBT IN HIM? WHO WAS THE ONE WHO USED CHAOS SPEAR? WHO WAS THE ONE WHO CAUSED THAT SCAFFOLDING TO FALL OVER? TELL ME SHADOW! TELL ME!”
Shadow shut his eyes and inhaled. The throbbing pain in his hand, his foot, his shoulder, his stomach, it all made him want to throw up. He shook as he glared at Sonic. “He was there because of you…”
—————-
The cannibal on top of him stared, stared directly into his eyes. His expression looked almost deprived of any emotion, but he was furrious. furrious and oh, so hungry. He craved for this black hegdehog since the day they met again in that cave. The blade slowly pulled out of the hedgehogs shoulder, dropping to his side. He leaned in close, close enough for Shadow to see his enlarged pupils and smell that scent that was sickenly sweet and iron-like from those who were his last meal.
“I can’t wait to gut you out.” The words came out of him were bone chillingly calm. Not even a cent of attitude or emotion that usually accompanied his tone. He was calm, those words were calm, but they were drenched in crazed anger.
He slowly raised the knife, preparing to strike one last time. Shadow needed to act now if he wanted to survive. A hit in the right place, with enough force, it will kill him. He didn’t have much chaos energy to use, and the adrenaline was waring off faster… fuck it. In a flash, the black hedgehog teleported away. Not far though, he could only make it a couple of miles. He gasped and clutched his gaping wound. Luckily the cut didn’t go to far deep, but still, he was pouring out blood. He held as tight as he could to lessen the bloodflow.
His vision was unfocused, he was becoming lightheaded from the blood loss, he needed help, but he needed to recharge his energy, and with his injuries it would take him longer than ever. Still, hes going to keep going. Shadow clutched his wound tighter as he slowly made his way across the hills that were now stained with his blood, whining as every step with his foot felt like needles shooting into his skin. Before, they could have beat eachother to a stand still, now... He looked back to see if Sonic knew where he went, chaos snap was not the best at hiding a signature. And perhaps, maybe Sonic did, as shadow saw that blue cannibal stare in his direction. or maybe at him.
“I’ll see you later, Shadow the Hedgehog” his voice echoed through the hills.
Shadow panted, a knot appeared in his throat. He gritted his teeth. “Go to hell, bastard.”

You're wanted *a Tails Wachowski One shot*
Tails has been hiding his whole life, but what if after thinking for so long he'd never find anyone who'd love him...he did
A few days after the fiasco with Robotnik Tom, Maddie, Knuckles, and Tails were sitting at the Wachowski family table.
Tom and Maddie were discussing something in hushed voices.
Tails had a horrible hunch on what they were talking about, but he hoped he was wrong.
His hunch was confirmed when Tom looked at Knuckles and Tails and asked the dreaded question.
"So, what do you guys plan on doing now?"
Tails and Knuckles looked at Tom confused.
"Well surely you guys have homes, and your parents must be worried sick, right?" Tom asked.
"Sadly no I'm afraid not, all my tribe have been dead for a long time, and I no longer have a home to return to." Knuckles said.
"I'm so sorry hon, but you're welcome to stay." Maddie said.
"Thank you miss Maddie, I appreciate it." Knuckles asked.
"What about you little guy?" Tom asked turning to Tails.
Tails was about to reply when he suddenly froze.
"They don't want you here." A faint but horrifyingly familiar voice hissed at him.
But surely they did...right.
"You're no good to them...all you are is a burden." The voice hissed.
Tails shook his head and covered his ears trying to drown out the voice.
Surely the Wachowski's wanted him, surely they loved him...didn't they.
"You're. A. FREAK." The voice hissed, yelling the last word with such venom.
Tails shrunk in slightly on himself but jumped when he suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder.
He looked and saw it was Sonic, with a very concerned frown on his face.
"Tails...you okay pal?" Sonic asked looking worried.
"Yeah, just zoned out for a moment...you know what I'm like." Tails lied.
Sonic nodded, but he wasn't convinced at all.
Tails turned back to Tom.
"Oh yeah, my old village probably are missing me, they just...love me there." Tails lied again.
Tom looked at Maddie who looked just as confused as him, clearly something was wrong, but they couldn't just force him to tell them.
"Well okay, if you're sure. But if you need us we're just a ring toss away." Tom said.
Tails nodded, pushing back the tears that were threatening to fill his eyes.
A couple of days later Tails was getting ready to leave, the others were saying their hopefully short lived farewells to the fox.
"You get everything hon?" Maddie asked.
"Yeah, I think I've got everything." Tails said adjusting his backpack straps.
"It's gonna be odd not having you around pal, you've already fit in so well with us." Tom said.
Tails was going to say something when he heard the voice again.
"They're lying." It growled into his ear.
"Thank you...Mr Wachowski." Tails nodded.
They all gave Tails a hug before the fox pulled out a ring and threw it down.
"Well...goodbye." Tails said giving them a small, sad wave before disappearing through the ring.
The ring closed behind him seconds later.
Sonic frowned as Tails went through the ring, he had a nagging feeling something was wrong.
"I don't know about you guys, but I don't like this." Sonic said still staring at the spot where Tails had vanished.
The others nodded, they all had a feeling Tails wasn't telling them something.
Meanwhile:
A ring opened in the middle of the forest and an all too familiar fox jumped out from it.
Tails looked around and saw a small cave in front of him, Sonic's old cave he guessed, only a lot more barren because Sonic's stuff was in his room at the Wachowski house.
Tails felt his heart clench when he thought of them.
Surely they'd liked him, did he do something wrong?
"They don't want you, nobody wants you, TWO. TAILED. FREAK." The voice roared, Tails could feel his eyes watering.
Tails curled up into a ball on the floor and wept.
Over the next few weeks Tails showed up very little, which was to be expected but Maddie and Tom couldn't help but notice some changes in the fox.
He seemed much quieter than normal and Tom and Maddie could both swear he'd gotten thinner.
Tails said he'd gone back to his parents, but clearly they weren't doing their jobs.
Plus he seemed awfully young, even younger than they'd first thought.
They decided to talk to him about it the next time they saw him.
Thankfully they didn't have to wait long as Tails showed up a few days later.
He'd just finished eating when Tom and Maddie sat next to him.
"Tails, honey can we talk for a minute?" Maddie asked.
Tails just nodded and looked at her.
"How old are you, if I may ask, you seem awfully young." Maddie said.
Tails frowned and was silent for a moment before speaking.
"Eight." He said looking at her dead in the eye.
Tom and Maddie were shocked, this kid was EIGHT and apparently hopping between planets by himself.
Sure some kids were allowed to travel small distances by themselves, but THIS was something else, Tails was far too young to literally travelling to different planets by himself.
Tails saw the looks on their faces and frowned, did he say something wrong.
"Is everything ok, did I do some wrong?" Tails asked.
"No no, of course not honey, you're just a bit young to be hopping planets by yourself." Maddie said stroking the Fox's bangs not noticing the way he seemed to tense at the contact.
"Maybe we should meet your parents Tails." Tom suggested, maybe Tails would be happy to introduce his family to them.
However this had the exact opposite effect they were expecting.
Tails mumbled about a million things at once and with speed that would make Sonic jealous he bolted out the first window and within moments was gone.
And he didn't come back.
It wasn't for another month Tails would be found.
That night Wade was driving into town when he suddenly saw something on the road in front of him.
Cursing and slamming on the breaks as hard as he could Wade prayed he didn't hit whatever it was.
Thankfully the car stopped just in the nick of time.
Wade hurriedly got out the car to investigate and to his utter shock his car lights illuminated...Tails.
Wade was no parent and he certainly wasn't very experienced with kids but he could tell Tails had been having a rough time of it.
His fur was dirty and seemed longer than the last time he saw the kid.
He could also see what looked like food scattered everywhere...but why would Tails need to steal food.
Nevermind that now, he needed to help this kid.
Wade slowly approached Tails, noting how the kid looked absolutely terrified.
"Hey Tails, it's me Wade, you remember me right?" Wade asked.
Tails nodded cautiously.
"That's good, I need you to come to the station with me, I'll call Tom." Wade said.
Tails frowned, he really wanted to see the others, but he didn't want to bother them either.
"Please kid, we've been looking for you for ages, they really want to see you." Wade said.
Tails sighed and nodded, he just couldn't keep this up anymore.
Once they got to the station Wade cleaned Tails up the best he could and made him a cup of hot chocolate, sticking some cream and marshmallows in there as well.
While Tails gratefully sipped his drink Wade called Tom and told him about Tails.
Not even ten minutes later Tom, Maddie, Knuckles and Sonic practically barreled into the police station.
"Tails, you're OK!" Sonic exclaimed joyfully running up to Tails and enveloping him in a hug.
To everyone's surprise Tails suddenly burst into tears.
"Tails?" Sonic asked confused.
"Hey, hey what's wrong baby?" Maddie asked worriedly kneeling down to Tails' height and looking at him worriedly.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry I didn't go back." Tails sobbed clinging onto Sonic's fur, his entire body shaking as he sobbed with what seems like weeks and weeks of pent up sadness suddenly exploding.
"I should have just left and not let you all worry about me, this time I promise I'll go." Tails said still hobbling heavily into Sonic.
"Woah Woah, we aren't mad honey more concerned, but if you haven't been at home, where have you been?" Maddie asked.
"I'm the forest, I-In Sonic's old cave." Tails said trying to stop the tears now flowing down his face.
"But what about your parents, don't they miss you?" Tom asked confused.
Tails sniffled and looked at Tom with glassy eyes.
"They don't care about me, they left me years ago." Tails said.
You could have heard a pin drop in the silence that enveloped the room, even Wade was speechless.
Sonic broke the silence.
"They-They left you." Sonic said gaping at Tails' slack jawed.
Tails just nodded.
"I don't know why, I don't even know if I did something wrong, but they just left me, in the middle of a field, I had to look after myself." Tails said.
"But didn't they...care for you?" Knuckles asked.
Tails laughed, but not his usual chirpy laugh, this was a cold, bitter laugh that sent chills down Knuckles's spine.
"Love me, they were as bad as the rest of my village, maybe worse, they didn't hug or kiss me, they didn't comfort me when I had nightmares or was scared of the storms, they'd even break my inventions because they believed they were "unnatural" and "freakish", they straight up told me I was nothing but a burden to them and a curse on our entire town, when my mother left me her last words to me were literally "Farewell Miles, you have been nothing but a burden to us since the moment you born, you're unnatural and scary and are a curse upon us and our village, now go, I never want to see you again. YOU. TWO. TAILED. FREAK"." Tails yelled his body shaking violently as a whole new round of sobbing commenced immediately after his rant.
Sonic stared at Tails with glassy eyes, he'd been fighting hard not to cry seeing Tails...no, his little brother break down like this, but that last part was the nail in the coffin, and sure enough Sonic found himself crying too.
"Oh Tails, that's so awful, I'm so sorry." Sonic choked out before pulling Tails into another almighty hug, the two just simply crying into each other's fur.
"I'm sorry Tails, I'm so sorry you had to go through that, I wish I could have stopped it from happening to you." Sonic said clinging onto Tails for dear life.
"It doesn't matter, I guess they were right about me after all, no one wants me, I'm nothing but a little two tailed freak." Tails choked out.
Maddie cut Tails off before he could say anything else, looking him directly in the eyes.
"Miles prower, I never want to hear you say that again! You are one of the most precious things I have ever met, you are not a freak, you never were, and I swear to you if I ever find the people who've treated you this way, I will put them through hell and back." Maddie vowed.
Tails just nodded and Maddie hugged both him and Sonic, Tom and Knuckles joining in the hug.
Tails couldn't believe how loving and caring the Wachowski's had been to him and for the first time in years Tails finally believed there was someone out there who would love him.
And it was the Wachowski family.

Jotting down my initial thoughts on Part 3 of Prime:
Love the few Sonadow moments we got but I don’t get why Sonic rushed to save everyone else yet didn’t even bother to ask where Shadow was when he got to the Grim. Didn’t even try to go down below and get him. Seems more than a little unfair.
The Rose sisters teaming up was excellent.
That 3-minute recap was fuckin’ ridiculous; they really must have been struggling to pad out the runtime.
Dropping Sonic back in the moment of the shattering was a nice touch.
Having Sonic find out about the palm trees in the Grim was also a nice touch.
Why is the Alpha Big the thing that gets everyone scared? Big is easily the least effective fighter of them all.
I love that Sonic asks Rebel Rouge to take command, but I’m not sure what the point of that is if her plan doesn’t work and falls apart quickly. Good character development for Sonic at least.
FINALLY SHADOW AND ROUGE INTERACTED
The ending was clearly setting up for a Part 2, which we are never going to get because Netflix is garbage like that.
For that reason, the ending isn’t nearly as satisfying as I had hoped for. New Yoke City is still a hell scape, Boscage Maze still hasn’t been rebuilt (meaning Sonic broke his promise to Thorn, something both of them seem to have forgotten), and Nine is still alone in the world. The whole point they’re trying to make is that everyone deserves a happy ending and yet it feels like only the Green Hill characters got one.
I love Renegade Knux so much; he’s easily the best version of Knuckles.
Shadow was robbed once again by both being stuck on the sidelines for so long AND for not being allowed to kick Nine in the head at least once.
WAY too much repetition holy hell. If you took a drink every time more robots appeared or every time Nine growled/yelled before zapping more prism energy, you’d be dead by the end of the season. That fight was Battle of the Five Armies levels of long and drawn-out, which is a real shame because that time could have been much better spent elsewhere.
I don’t think Nine and Dread really deserved their redemptions and both felt very rushed. To me, Nine crossed the line into irredeemability when he decided to kill the foxes just because he didn’t like that they looked like him. That isn’t a trauma response from years of bullying or a matter of self-defense. It’s just murderous and mean.
On that note, it felt like quite the emotional bait-and-switch to say that Sails and Mangey were fine actually and they just flew away when no one was looking. Bit of a cowardly move on the writers’ part, I think.
The Chaos Council is so ANNOYING can’t they just fucking DIE.
Overall I’d say this season turned out similar to the last in that the first episode of the batch was EASILY the best of the bunch. It peaked at the first and never quite got that good again. I’m biased here because Shadow is my favorite, but I just feel like it’s better to have a quick fight scene with two or three characters than it is to have a long fight scene with dozens of characters because then you have to jump around too much.
The sad thing is, the disappointments make me glad the show is ending, because now I feel certain that if it kept going, it would only get more repetitive and the quality would decline rapidly.

Here's also the ask in question for ref.
Well imma leave you with a short intro, bcs there's so much to unpack. This thing was in my mind basement for a while :'3
We start off with a smol timeskip! :D
And during that timeskip, things do happen around: Mainly school activities. For Ortho, school was a bit more difficult when you and your buddies are known around as the supernatural powered dudes who fought the corrupted mad scientist and a fraction of the government. This made some things like sports events or extra activities to be more complicated than intended.
The most shocking thing tho was *gasp* Idia managed to pull a date?!?!
Our group was absolutely baffled when Idia revealed that he ended up hitting around dating 2 dudes: 1 silly library guy and one who owns a small restaurant in their little town. And they were decent people too!
The only problem was that, like most people who were not involved in the said adventure (either directly involved, related or witnesses) Azul and Malleus, Idia's boyfriends, don't know that the firehead was much more than just some silly alien guy. And Idia insisted at our first years group to keep it that way, because it was 1 talk that the latter found it pretty hard to address.
Now our new adventure starts by the end of the school year. There was the school prom! And being such a small town(almost a village if you will), the school prom was a pretty popular event around. Kinda a spice to the, otherwise boring, days around.
But before that, there was the academic scores settling. And everything. A lot of tests coming up and a lot of grades filling in. Ortho would say that he was a top student and he shouldn't fear when his grade situation gets mailed out, yet still, he was on literal edge for mail day, which Idia took it as odd. Doesn't help that Ortho inheritantly was super fast, thus he always grabbed the mail before his brother and went through it at lightning speed.
One day, Ortho comes back from school, to find that the mail came later today, while he was in class and it wasn't a skip day, and Idia took it before him. Of course, the dread was very real and the rest of the first years, who knew exactly what was up, tried to reassure their buddy that 'hey, we all got the same fate in there'.
Idia, naturally, wasn't that happy with a particular class Ortho had: Socials. While he had a nearly perfect score everywhere else, socials was a mediocre one, bearly passing. Idia couldn't complain about Literature or Arts, he knew those old ass teachers still were petty and poured their hate on the kids, still Ortho had pretty good grades at them. The socials was where Idia found it wierd. And naturally, he asks the group about it, when Sebek blurts out that all of them have the same grade.
Turns out that, since the incident, the school implemented an obligatory class: Socials. And for this, they got a teacher from a bigger city, who happens to also have a much more 'different' approach to things. Our group doubts any class in this school has an actual great grade at that particular class, so please, Idia, excuse them, maybe buy them consolatory ice-cream while at it? :'3
Idia does excuse them, but insists that, if socials are mandatory next year too, the group will try to do better in there. Now they only had a few school days left, so he couldn't really hope the grades will 'magically fix themselves'.
Hey, at least they are passing! :'D
Still, that day, Epel points out that Idia was much more fidgety, hence his very messy reaction to the grades. He was all over the place and, clearly, he was a few secs away from causing an earthquake. The latter just shows up his hand, which had an engagement ring on it.
Long story short, Malleus proposed today and, of course, Idia and Azul accepted with no 2nd thoughts. The librarian really was rushing into things whenever he saw green light apparently. :'3
So all summer, Idia was preparing mentally and physically for the marriage. For him, it was a more important task to see how he could break the news to his fiancĂŠs about the fact that he is literally the god of this planet. Ortho did try to reassure that the best case scenario: nobody has a heart attack or faints! What a good option! :D
By the end of the summer, the plans were made: an early autumn wedding, with the venue on a more retreated beach. Very little touches had to be done until the big day itself and Idia was getting restless as it approached.
Ortho really saw it as both a very beautiful thing and as a problem. On one hand, he liked Idia's fiancĂŠs and he would be very happy with the resulting marriage, especially if it made his big brother happy, but on the other hand, everything was moving very fast and, clearly, Idia had a harder time keeping the pace than Ortho. The rest of the first years are also trying to help Idia with his Woes, but it's pretty hard to calm him down. On more than one occasion, Idia was back to his big form, hid behind trees and mountains and simply processing the situation while our group talked to him, mostly to keep him grounded from making all kinds of imaginary scenarios and worrying himself more.
It was time tho, for Ortho's 2nd year of high-school. He was pretty excited about it, until he heard that socials were, yet again, a mandatory class. Doesn't help that Idia's wedding was in the first school weekend. The good part, Alex, Ace's big brother, was helping Idia when our group was at classes. (they became proper friends at the end of their adventure)
So with around 5 days until the big day, things were slowly looking out to be better. Things were settled, programs were fine and everything was coming together very nicely.
Except that things couldn't be very nice all the time.
Our lil group was out through town one evening, when they stumble across another alien, this one set on hunting the Shrouds. Of course, upon noticing Ortho, it escalated into a fight.
And now, this guy was freakishly agile. It didn't help that the red marks on his body, along the bright red hair, indicated that his origins were, definitely, from the same planet Idia and Ortho came from. Still, he reffers to Ortho as a 'threat' and thus has to handle it upon the rules of his homeland: by killing the boy.
Of course, things get much more clear when Crowley returns, saying that this is his new little ally. Thankfully, before shit can actually hit the fan, our group is saved by a misterious blonde guy, who can apparently shapeshift into any person.
That guy is Vil Schonenheit, upon his introduction. The other one was Riddle, an esteemed guard of temple of the core, from their home planet. He does make a short history of why Riddle was so set on killing Ortho.
Many years ago, a Shroud actually achieved a tie with their planet core, thus absolving immortality and immense power. The chaos emeralds were expelled to earth, while the said Shroud was locked in the temple of the core, as to prevent any wish of destroying their home. Riddle came from a line of guards who trained all their life to guarding the said temple. If anything went wrong, the guards were trained so that they could kill anything except a Shroud that was already tied to a core.
Vil also adds that he was not a guard, but an entertainer. He was, initially, given as a sacrifice by his, now deceased, mother, to please the 'diety', but he was spared, even so, the Shroud protected him from his prison, until he was old enough to venture back to his worried father. Thus he was forever indebted to that man. His wife was killed by the guards and he was unable to do anything but watch, believing that his children suffered the same fate too. So when Crowley came forth, his presence angered the Shroud. Crowley preached about 2 more of that kind here, on Earth. Riddle was chosen to accompany Crowley and get rid of the said threats, while Vil was told to go and stop this, to protect the Shroud's 2 sons.
Ortho is, rightfully, very shook by this revelation, but our group insist that already Idia tied in with Earth's core. Vil now is genuinely worried about this, because it's either Idia accepts to be locked away forever or he gets forcefully put to sleep by the guardians, once they find out what happened. Crowley didn't say anything about one of the brothers actually achieving this oh so feared form, so they didn't think too much on how deep this thing is.
For now, Riddle was on their trail, so as to not worry Idia, Ortho played the 'I'm having a sleepover at Ace so u could smooch with your fiancĂŠs before the wedding' card. It worked! Idia was too flustered to fully question why the sudden decision. :P
Alex is also very taken aback by this new trouble our group got into. Like being chased by the government wasn't enough, huh?! Still, he complies on trying to divert Idia's attention off this mess while the rest try to get Riddle to realise that Crowley is using him for the emeralds.
Cue a lot of running around. Riddle was 1 relentless mf. :'3
But, on their now daily chases, our group gets in mingling with the secret services. Again. :'D
Long story short, they caused a lot of trouble. Crowley was still on the loose, with his new little puppet being a force to reckon with. So the course of action taken by the said secret services was to take Idia in custody until Riddle gets wind of it and walks right into the trap.
It was a horrible plan, really. Especially with the upcoming wedding. :'3
We get introduced to Jade and Floyd, 2 secret service agents in the new branch of 'dealing with alien threats'. They actually prove to be a thorn in Riddle's sides, especially Floyd who is relentlessly taunting the redhead, thus allowing for Riddle to be distracted mid altercation.
And oh, is Riddle fuming! He became so enraged that the second he spots even the tiniest hair of Floyd, he goes tunnel vision and hunts that guy for the life of him. This put breaks in Crowley's plans enough so our group could actually devise a proper plan. The wedding was actually tomorrow and they were running out of time. Idia had to find out one way or another. Preferably after the wedding itself, ya know. :'3
But, first, the wedding! It was a very pretty location, still warm due to the early autumn, and it was small, pretty retreated.
Except that crow man cannot help but bust that shit too. Imagine Riddle's surprise when he sees 2 Shrouds, one who shows the signs of his bind to the planet's core.
BUT! Before anyone could do anything against it, it turns out a good chunk of the guests and the catering team were secret government agents. Azul also was one, pretty obvious after he pulled a mf gun on Riddle.
Turns out Azul was dispatched on a discreet operation of supervising Idia, which he really wasn't supposed to end up marrying him. So there's that. :P
Everything is messed up and so overwhelming that Idia actually snaps under the pressure and shows the full extent of his power: a gigantic being of magma and fire, raising walls and waves to separate people from each other.
Poor Malleus, he's the only guy who literally has no idea what is happening. Please, let him get married in peace. :'3
Naturally, Riddle's approach is to confront Crowley about lying to him, that none of the 2 is actually tied to the planet's core. This complicates things. Idia cannot be killed, because if he dies, so will the planet slowly, due to how young Idia was. Crowley was aware of this effect and still pushed the redhead to hunt the Shrouds.
Truth was, Crowley still wanted the chaos emeralds. And Idia, along with our group, had them. By having Riddle hunt them, Crowley was sure he could back them up and get the emeralds one by one.
Cue Idia losing his shit at that revelation. Like, it's a lot to take in today. His wedding was crashed, Crowley is back, apparently more aliens from his original birthplace came here, his father is alive, Ortho was hunted, and one of his almost husband was a secret agent, initially tasked with supervising him.
Cue grabbing crow man and chucking him through the ocean. Like if he dies, Idia doesn't fricking care. He's done and over and now he's staying criss-crossed, sulking as a petty kid, except that he's basically an all powerful diety of this earth. :'3
Still, Ortho tries to reach out to him, with the help of the rest of the group, Ortho manages to climb on Idia's shoulder and try to talk to him, firstly apologising for hiding the whole hunting thing from him. Idia accepts the apology, adding that he was worried sick when this whole thing got to light. Then Ortho urges to forgive Azul too, because he genuinely seems to love him and Malleus. And the 2 most likely are trying to see how to approach this whole thing. Idia is a bit hesitant, but he does allow Ortho to hug his cheek, before putting him gently down and grabbing Azul with Malleus. After they had a short talk, it was pretty obvious the small 2 kisses on the cheek and Idia seemed pretty happy as he finally rested back to his human form.
The wedding is still on tho! Except that most of the fancy dressing is torn or dirty from the fight around. :v
Idia gets properly introduced to Vil and Riddle. Being in an actual good mood, Idia does forgive Riddle, mostly since Crowley did manipulate him into this shit. The redhead does insist that if word goes back to the council of guardians, Idia will have to be locked away. That's how they kept his father too, in fear of destroying their planet. Buuuuuttttt if Riddle and Vil were here to, let's say, take care of this, then technically they could report that Idia was 'settled down' and it was safe. :3
The nice part, Vil and Riddle did settle in with new thing in their little town. Riddle as a teacher, while Vil as a theatre manager(upon promotions) so it was pretty chill and not anymore fear of other aliens possibly coming down to hunt the Shroud brothers.
The not so nice part: our group is still almost failing at socials :'3
A thing tho, was that our bros did ask Vil and Riddle if it's possible to see their father. The 2 said that for Ortho, it could be easier, but for Idia, due to still being fresh, him leaving the planet now, even for a bit, it could result in natural disasters left and right. Their best shot is having the father coming here, but that was, upon their words, impossible to achieve with the current guardian situation. Being tied to the core for much longer, Mr Shroud could leave it to be independent for a while, but, again, the guardians won't allow such thing.
So for now, they have no option but to leave it as that. U-Ub

Good news, the fic is started.
Dr. Robotnik awoke to alarms going off, drowsiness fogging his mind. The loud blaring shook everything around him. “What the blazes?!” he grumbled.
“Sir, It appears that Sonic is on his way,” Orbot answered, popping up from wherever he hid in the walls and vents to avoid orders and confrontation. Robotnik, still dazed from the abrupt awakening, blinked to gather his senses before answering, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
“Send Metal Sonic.” he barked at the robotic minion.
“We already did,” Cubot replied, sounding worried.
“Then send-” The scientist was cut off by the sound of a wall behind him caving in.
Sonic stepped out of the hole in the wall. He looked at Robotnik with anger burning in his eyes. The dust from the debris folate in the air before settling on the ground between them, and clinging to his cheeks in tracks under his eyes. The speedster was stiff, his posture forced perfectly straight. Metal Sonic hung limply in Sonic’s grip. In one hand the head was dangling by some wires, and the eyes of the robot were flickering on and off, red and black, trying to work on a faulty backup power source. In the other the body of the robot was dented and scratched, the hedgehog’s grip causing the metal in his hand to crumble.
“You killed my brother.” Sonic’s voice was wrecked, torn to shreds. Sonic sounded tired, barely able to speak over a whisper.
Robotnik’s eyebrows bunched in confusion. He hadn’t done anything recently to the fox boy. He wasn’t planning on anything yet.
“I have no idea what you are saying, you can’t barge your way in here making baseless accusations-”
“Don’t fucking lie to me!” Sonic snapped, flinging the robotic corpse at Robotnik, the metal clanging and bouncing off the concrete floor. The voice got quieter, sharper.
“I’m not-” Robotnik flinched at the use of force.
“Sure, I’m buying that. This one time, after all of your bullshit, after the space amusement park, after all those times you were playing pathetic, playing stupid, this is the one time you were telling the truth,” Sonic snarled. His green eyes were blazing with a cold fury.
“I know I know, how this sounds, but I do not know what you are talking about.” Robotnik took a step backward. Orbot and Cubot vanished into their hiding spots in the walls.
“You killed Tails!”
The sound was pulled from the room, leaving icy dread. Robotnik felt the atmosphere push down on his spine, his blood congealed into molasses.
The fact that Sonic was giving Robotnik a chance to talk, let alone to explain why the doctor decided to kill his brother was a false mercy, a lie. There was no negotiating, no walking away, no talking his way out of this.
And he didn’t even pull the trigger, regardless of what Sonic believed at that moment.
And the Doctor wanted to try to make it out of this alive. He gritted his teeth trying to pull his thoughts to his mouth, trying to come up with anything to say to this.
The fastest thing alive could move faster than thought. Robotnik’s back hit the ground first, followed by his head, the impact making a sickening snap and wetness seeping out from the back of his head.
Sonic stood on his chest, hunched over to look Robotnik in the eyes. The Doctor swallowed, never seeing this level of anger from him before.
“I know you want to ‘break’ me, as you’ve said before, well good job, you did it.” Sonic bared his teeth.
“If I really did this, don’t you think I would be bragging to you over this? Think clearly.” Robotnik finally managed.
“I am thinking clearly.”
That was not what Robotnik wanted to hear.
His mind briefly wondered if that look in Sonic’s eye was the same in Gerald Robotnik held up until his execution.
The lack of Super Sonic was also something that just clicked in Robotnik’s head. This was him not holding back. Turns out that having a metal sole crush his windpipe made his brain fire off every thought he could like a flailing creature.
“Despite everything, I let you live and now you’ve cost me my brother.” wet hit Robotnik’s face as Sonic pressed harder, cutting off the Dopctor’s air completely.
Sonic was beyond talking at this point, barely above a being with rage interwoven into the core of its being.
Robotnik gagged and made hissing noises as he struggled for air. His vision was getting darker, and spotty. His pulse was thunderous in his ears.
A hand came from behind Sonic, planting itself squarely on his chest. Robotnik could see a golden ring on the wrist of the hand. The hand pulled or pushed, Robotnik wasn’t really concerned with the proper wordings as air rushed back into his lungs. He hacked and coughed as his vision whited out. Sonic let out a yell that was closer to a pained roar.
Taking a few seconds to collect himself, Robotnik sat up, pain ringing through his body.
“Have- Have Badniks repair the holes in my walls, and prepare a repair table for Metal.
“Of course sir.” Orbot’s voice was muffled through still being in his hiding spot. “And what of your injuries?”
“I’ll be fine, just keep that damn hedgehog from coming back here. And find out who let him believe I had anything to do with killing the fox boy.”

Hello Mystery? :3 ...Want another scenario? Been thinking this one over yesterday, featuring...our favourite pink, hammer-wielding, adorable Hedgehog :3 Hope you like it!
"Are you sure you'd like to do this?"
Amy asked curiously, sitting in front of Maddie's vanity mirror in the bedroom. It was just the two ladies today. Tom was with the others in the garden - they could hear Sonic and Knuckles arguing over a point in the game, and Tails offering to come up with a way of telling who won (While hearing Rouge teasing them and you could hear Shadow shaking his head in disapproval from upstairs).
"Of course I'd love to do this. We all deserve to have some time to look refreshed." Maddie responded, laughing a little, as she started to brush through Amy's quills.
"My quills may be sharp."
"Oh, don't worry. I've had more than enough practice with Sonic's quills and Knuckles' dreads. I think I'm immune to...quill pricking now."
Amy couldn't help but giggle. She was nervous, but deep down, she'd been looking forward to spending some one-on-one time with Maddie.
She remembered when she first saw Maddie. This confident woman, no, mother, who would do anything for her boys - even if her boys came from another world. They clearly were a family of love...not genetics. No matter what that lousy G.U.N. kept trying to pester.
And during this last endeavour, Tom and Maddie joined in with a lot more action than they'd probably thought of...but they would gladly do it all over again for their family.
Amy remembered Maddie with a little bag, full of small, but powerful gadgets of all sorts - clearly the smarts of Tails' genius!
Amy giggled a bit, "You were cool out there."
Maddie looked curiously, brushing Amy's quills gently, "Hm?
"You had a bag full of Tails' weapons over your shoulder. You were awesome!"
"Oh! Hehe, that was all Tails' idea. He learned of how I ended up using his little gadgets before, when I had to save my boys from G.U.N. in Hawaii. He was stunned to learn how I used them. So...he got me a little backpack, and made a bunch of them for me to use - only when necessary of course."
"Wow! Really?"
"Yep. It's fun too. I both get to be a part of the action...and fulfill my childhood dream of being some super cool spy action hero with a bag of wacky but powerful gadgets."
Amy could only giggle. Maddie wasn't wrong. She was clearly an idol to admire.
"And you clearly know how to stand against a big villain too. You were amazing with that hammer of yours. Even Knuckles tried using it...failing miserably."
Amy blushed shyly, "I-I-I don't think I was that good...I just d-did what I have to."
Maddie looked at Amy and smiled warmly, "Your heart is full of love for those around you. You didn't know my boys for even a day, and you were more than willing to go on the front line with them."
Amy nodded a little...
Indeed, Amy joined the battle without knowing the Wachowski family for even a day, but so quickly...she bonded with the Wachowski boys almost immediately. Sonic was amazed with her defiance (And the fact that she was a hedgehog too), Tails was more intrigued with Amy's weapon of choice, and Knuckles admired Amy's odd strength - seriously, she's so far the only person to give him a handshake without breaking her hand.
And Maddie would never forget the end of their last battle...
When everyone thought Sonic and Shadow were gone...
Only to suddenly appear before them! It was so dramatic...but Tails and Knuckles tackled Sonic in a hug, clinging to him desperately to make sure he was really there! Amy watched happily, with tears in her eyes...
Only to hear them call her name...and open their arms...
And Amy joined their huddle!
Tom and Maddie were both struggling to hold back their happy tears...and allowed all their new companions, Amy, the infamous thief Rouge, and even the Ultimate Lifeform, Shadow, to join their home.
And very quickly, Tom and Maddie started seeing Amy as a daughter. Amy would always join the boys with their sporting days and usual antics - she and Sonic have earned themselves the nickname 'Disaster Twins' for a reason, you know.
"I...guess I didn't want anything to happen to them...or you."
"And that is okay. You followed your heart, which is what we always encourage. It may scare us...and age us a couple of years, but you kids always try to do the right thing. Out of love."
Amy took in Maddie's words...and smiled softly. There was some feelings in her heart she'd not felt in a very long time.
"Aaaaand...there!"
Amy looked up in the mirror, to see how Maddie styled her quills. Her mouth hung open in awe, admiring the pretty Hedgehog in the mirror - was that really her?
"I think my quill-styles are getting better." Maddie winked, putting a hand on Amy's shoulder, "What do you think?"
Amy could only smile...and tear up a bit.
"T-Thank you...Mom!"

Welp, that's it for S2. I have mixed feelings about it. Overall, it's solid enough, but oh man is it repetitive with some serious pacing and characterization issues. The first episode and last two-threeish episodes make the season better, and I loved the finale, it's just a shame that you have to wade through so much unnecessary padding.
Overall Pros:
The animation is smooth.
The concept is interesting.
Sonic's new voice actor is fantastic! He reminds me a lot of a really pleasant blend between Jason Griffith and Jaleel White.
Love the game references (and very subtle SatAM references?)
Chaos Sonic was a breath of fresh air; he should have been a threat sooner and lasted longer
Dark!Sonic??? 👀 I suppose he'd be Prism!Sonic, but I loved that reference and the shard sound effects every time he flickered were cool.
The Prism Titan was actually terrifying to me.
Shadow finally gets more accurate characterization.
SEGA also remembered that Shadow can use his Air Shoes to hover and propel himself around space. Whoever was responsible for supervising Shadow's writing knew their stuff and really did a good job.
Knux was cool and it was nice to see Knuckles finally being portrayed as competent again.
Sonic's characterization grew on me, and I think he's really charming now.
Everything about Nine was pretty good. I enjoyed the build up with him.
Shadow and Sonic are at their peak whenever they're on screen together.
The Predator references (?) in space with Shadow were VERY good.
It was fun seeing Knux and Dread fight together.
Speaking of Knux, I loooove that Knux/Rebel is basically canon. 7 yo me shipping Knouge would be so happy.
Also I am now pretty sure I ship Sonadow. Romantically or as just platonic soulmates? Somewhere in between? I have no idea yet but I'm feeling things.
The finale almost made everything in the middle worth it.
Really good bones for a show. It has so much potential.
Overall Cons:
Spoonfeeds some things to viewers that feels unnecessary at best and a little patronizing at worst. I know this is a kids' show, but... c'mon, give the viewers a little more credit lol we don't need so many flashbacks, do we?
The pacing is terrible. There were so many moments where I kept thinking "okay, we get it" or "not this again" or "did we really need that scene?" There's a lot of good scenes but unfortunately they're all sandwiched between a lot of pointless stuff.
Too many robot fights that felt exactly the same.
Too few worlds. The concept of traveling to other universes could have been so fascinating to explore but all we got were four new ones in two whole seasons, one world of which is empty and still unexplored.
I'm not a fan of most of the characterizations. Knuckles being stupid is tired and inaccurate, Rouge has been watered down into what feels like the designated Mom Friend™ and just doesn't feel like herself at all, and I can't pinpoint exactly what it is, but Amy has lost a lot of her charm. Big is fine, but he feels like he's just there and doesn't really serve much purpose.
The Chaos Council. I can't stand any of them. I think it would have been better if New Yolk's big bad had been a retro Robotnik. These guys? I just don't care about them and I don't find them menacing in the slightest. The baby makes me homicidal.
It wasn't as glaring this season, but the number of duplicate background characters with little to nothing to distinguish them from the others was extremely distracting and took me out of the story almost every time.
I don't think I liked or cared about any of the alternates except the ones in NY. I liked Dread at first but he got annoying pretty quickly. Feels like a lot of wasted potential.
Rusty Rose exists but you mean to tell me that the Chaos Council DOESN'T robotize it's citizens??? Isn't that what she's alluding to since she's clearly not 100% a robot? I know Robotnik/Eggman roboticizing animals has already been done a lot, but that's because it's good! It's scary! It's body horror! It could totally be freshened up if they wanted.
Kind of annoying that the S2E1 emphasized the need for Sonic and Shadow to work together, actually had them say that out loud, and then... just? Kinda didn't give Shadow anything to do for another whole season? All he did was nag Sonic a bit, kick some space rocks around, and then help fight a little at the very end. Maybe I'm biased because he's my favorite, but it's a little tiring to see Shadow constantly being used in newer stuff as just a vehicle to draw a crowd because SEGA knows fans love him, yet not actually giving him anything substantial to do.
This is such a minor thing in comparison to Prime's actual issues, but I didn't like anyone's new voices except Sonic and Shadow. Although, if I'm honest, Shadow's voice sounds almost more fitting for Knuckles. It's better imo than Thornton's Shadow (also a great VA just not my taste for that particular character), but it's def more a Knuckles voice than a Shadow voice. Tails is also fine but I can't stop hearing Rainbow Dash pfff. I don't like Amy, Rouge, and Knuckles' voices at all (Knux aside; the Brooklyn accent somehow makes it better and really suits him LOL).
Anyway, I really don't know how to feel about Prime. The idea is so so good but the execution could use a lot of work. Somehow I'm still excited for S3 and looking forward to it, assuming it gets a third, so I guess that means it isn't all too bad. It's just a pity that it still hasn't seemed to find it's footing. S1 and S2 could have been trimmed and condensed down into one season easily, I think, and been a much tighter show.

Some more of those OTP Questions for Sontails, because your answers were so fluffy and cute and I loved them XD
"Who asks weird and complicated questions in the middle of the night?"
"Who makes the other laugh more?"
"Who hugs the other from behind?"
"Who's more protective?"
"Who embarresses the other in public with kisses and pet names?"
Taking a break before continuing studying for the night so woo!! I had a second to answer these ^^
“Who asks weird and complicated questions in the middle of the night?”
Tails for sure, bless. He’s the mechanic of the group, meaning he definitely has a lot of complicated thoughts in general, if his usual technobabble speeches are anything to go by.
We’re shown he’s also quite thoughtful and prone to sharing his observations, two traits that can and will lead to him voicing out whatever thought flies through his head while he’s laying on bed.
The questions range from "Wouldn’t it be cool if I tried to make a plane work with only one wing?" to "Do you think there are living creatures that are inherently undeserving of love?", depending on his mood for the night (inventor creativity and the kind of existential dread that only ever hits people at like, 2 in the morning, respectively).
Sonic tends to bounce off Tails’ ideas and give his own views on the question, because he loves talking with Tails. Well, to the best of his ability, that is; if difficult science jazz comes up he’s just gonna have to call it a day lol. And if any clearly negative question comes up, he's gonna answer with a hug instead.
I think Tails would like talking things out with Sonic, because he has pretty clear-cut opinions and a casual attitude to go with almost anything. It makes their late night conversations be really chill, usually :)
“Who makes the other laugh more?”
I honestly would say this one goes both ways!
When I read this question, the first scene that popped into my mind was that one Sonic Colours cutscene that I believe happened after shutting down the last generator. Sonic and Tails were commenting on what they should do once they stopped Eggman’s plans at the park, I think? And Sonic went, “let’s just go to a different park”, to which Tails replied “one that’s less evil than this one”.
That simple exchange sent them both into such goofy chuckling, it was adorable. To me it’s a perfect representation of the way they make each other laugh. They both love teasing each other a bit and playing around with jokes, so usually, if one of them is smiling, the other one will be too.
This also plays into the ‘I’m happy if the person I love is’ trope, which just fits so well for them. Making the other crack out a nice laugh is part of their love language, and they’re both pretty good at it.
“Who hugs the other from behind?”
Sonic, of course! Not only because he loves how fluffy his partner's tails are, but because Tails can't really hug him from behind at all. Them hedgehog quills are really sharp at the tips, I bet xD
It’s much more comfortable for both of them if Sonic is the only one that does hugs from behind, thanks to their anatomy and height difference. Honestly, it’s like they’re built for this position in particular.
Sonic can just casually rest his chin on Tails’ shoulder while he works on his gadgets, and Tails himself can relax while nestled in Sonic’s arms. That way the affectionate gesture isn’t being disruptive or difficult for either of them.
“Who's more protective?”
They both would take a bullet for the other, no questions asked, but Sonic is the one that will always act more outwardly protective of Tails. It's in his nature.
He tends to have pretty intense reactions when he learns Tails got hurt or something happened to him, which feeds into my view.
In Boom cartoon he wants Tails to stop being his sidekick after he gets injured one (1) time, to make sure he won’t get hurt again. In Lost World he's actively pissed off and hating on the antagonists when Tails gets kidnapped. He was going through cyber corruption damnation during Frontiers and still held out for him.
Even in IDW comics, which I’m not particularly fond of, there’s a panel where Sonic tries to fight off Silver’s psychokinesis power just to run to Tails’ side after a battle... He’s clearly the traditionally protective one out of the two in every universe they’re together. And it warms my heart so much.
Part of it comes from the fact Tails is the most important person to Sonic -- of course he needs to keep him safe. The fact Sonic is slightly older than him (I personally see Tails around 12 and Sonic as 15-16) probably makes him feel a bit responsible, too.
“Who embarrasses the other in public with kisses and pet names?”
Sonic! After they start dating, I headcanon that calling Tails bud/buddy/bro/etc. like he used to becomes a sort of jokey pet name, since now they’re outright ‘partners’ and equals in every sense of the word.
Naturally, Sonic still loves using those friendzone nicknames, though, so it’s like a running gag only the two of them get. lmao.
Sonic’s also the one to initiate any kissing most of the time, especially in public. Tails doesn’t mind PDA all that much, now, don’t get me wrong. But he knows Sonic is someone that really needs his space and freedom respected, so he just feels more comfortable when Sonic is the one starting the affection in public, since it means both of them want it at the time.
Sonic obviously appreciates him a lot for being so considerate of their relationship. And he shows it through kissing and holding Tails’ hand whenever he feels like it (spoiler: it happens a lot), usually attempting to catch him off-guard to get him as embarrassed as possible.
Ahhhgh, talking of their dynamic makes me so happy, it’s making me want to continue writing my fics for them ;;;; I can’t wait to be done with my exams.
If you want to send more questions or anything else, I probably won’t be able to get to them until later this week, but it’s been a blast so far!!! <3

masterlist
"Remind me again, why did the ENTIRE team need to come on this mission?" You complained, fighting off two grown men while waiting for the signal Tony was supposed to give to tell you it's safe to go inside the building.
"Call it a group bonding session." Tony teased while flying near the building in his Iron Man suit, trying to figure out how to lower the shields. Ever since the fall of SHIELD, it became even more difficult to find the remaining Hydra bases and due to the Ultron situation that occurred a few years ago, the difficulty only increased.
"Could we do a little less chitchat and a little more fighting?" Steve demands, you could hear Cap's grunts through your earpiece, making it obvious that he's struggling to fight off the Hydra goons.
You were a couple miles away from the building attempting to make your way closer to it, the enemies clearly noticed your arrival when they saw a person in red and yellow suit flying pass their windows, easily recognising the well known Iron Man.
And because a huge green angry Hulk isn't exactly easy to ignore.
"Clearly Cap can't keep up with us superheroes." Pietro teased, with a blink of an eye he knocked out the enemies surrounding both you and Steve.
"Thanks for the help Sonic, I'd give you some onion rings but I don't have any on me right now." You joked, smirking at the exasperated speedster that stood in front of you.
"I just saved your life and this is how you repay me Prinţesă?" He feigned hurt, placing his hand over heart.
"Saving her life? That's a bit of an exaggeration even for you Piet." Wanda's voice was heard from the comms, she managed to make her way into the building effortlessly, fighting beside Vision.
"Mind your business Wanda." Pietro scoffs biting back the smile forming on his face, he could hear his sisters laugh through the earpiece.
"As much as I love hearing the two of you argue with each other, now may not be the time." Natasha commented, followed by Clint agreeing.
You sighed, knowing they were right, focusing on the mission instead of the twin in front of you, glancing around at your surroundings. You noticed the enemies lined up behind Pietro preparing for an attack. You would've seen it earlier if it wasn't for the conversation distracting you.
You thought it was too late when you saw the bullet fly through the air, aiming directly at Pietro, it felt as though it was moving in slow motion. The piece of metal cutting through the air making its way to the speedster. Not registering the fact that Pietro had super healing abilities your mind recalled what happened in Sokovia. The bullets going through Pietro in every angle possible. Him falling onto the ground, the colour drained from his face, everyone thought he was dead, Wanda included. That was until the speedster managed to spit out a joke about Ultron's good aim.
You didn't register what you were doing until after you did it. Rushing to protect him from the bullet you pushed him out of the way last minute, the bullet barely missed him, you felt the bullet scrape against your arm instead. Pietro fell to the ground with a yelp as you fell on top of him, wincing due to the pain the bullet caused you.
Steve ran over to the two of you after knocking out the culprit.
"They're both down." Steve states, Pietro shakes his head, attempting to sit up, lifting you up and placing you in his lap comfortably.
"Why'd you do that? You know I can take bullets right?" Pietro scowled, glancing over your body to check for anymore injuries besides the bullet wound, his hands were gentle, brushing over your body in a caring manner as he lets the palm of his hands rest on the sides of your face, holding your face in his hands.
"Now i saved your life." You joked, blushing at the position the two of you were currently in and trying to hide the pain the bullet was causing you. You weren't a super soldier or someone with super healing abilities, so jumping in front of a bullet to save someone that could survive getting shot multiple times wasn't smart thinking on your part.
But you couldn't help it.
You wouldn't say you and Pietro were best friends, you did get along well but the twin refrained from getting close to any of the avengers. Your relationship consisted of teasing each other often and bumping into each other constantly during midnight, resulting in the two of you having your own midnight sessions where the two of you sat in the kitchen drinking hot chocolate.
You reminisced on the last time you had your 'midnight session' with Pietro, not being able to focus on what Pietro and Steve were saying to you, there was a loud ringing in your head, echoing as you closed your eyes to stop the headache that was forming, you felt yourself being lifted up in someone's arms.
Maybe you underestimated how bad the bullet wound was.
"Fine weather we're having don't you think?" You laughed, glancing over at the window, the heavy rain pelted against the glass of the compound, that alongside the wind that sounded much louder in your bedroom made it difficult to even attempt to sleep. You could just barely make out the trees in the distance due to the night sky.
"Didn't think you'd show up tonight, don't you need the sleep before our mission tomorrow?" Pietro questioned. He was facing the stove, you could smell the hot chocolate that was heating up. You made your way next to him, grabbing two mugs and placing them next to him before moving to the fridge to grab the whipped cream.
You swapped positions with Pietro, passing the can of whipped cream to him and grabbing the spoon that was used to stir the hot chocolate.
"Oh wait! I made cookies today, we could have them now!" You remembered, grabbing the plate of cookies from the cupboard and placing it on the table, Pietro immediately reached out for one, and then another.
"I don't know if you know this yet but, I love you." Pietro confesses, grabbing another cookie. You pushed the plate away from him before he could grab another.
"You gotta slow down Piet, don't want you emptying the plate before we even get to have the hot chocolate, now do we?" You grinned and he complains, reaching out for another.
"It's nice to know you care so much about my well-being dragă." You rolled your eyes at the smirk plastered on his face. With the blink of an eye he was stood across from you, closer to the plate of cookies, with another in his hand.
The two of you couldn't stop the smiles that formed on your face, even going to bed in a much better mood than you were in previously.
It was hours after the mission, you were patched up as soon as the quinjet landed at the compound. After a long lecture from Steve and the debriefing, you were finally able to be alone, only wanting to go back your room and sleep for days.
You made your way to the elevator that would take you to your floor, too tired to take the stairs. You attempted to fight back the tiredness, blinking harshly to keep yourself awake, missing the blue streak of a superhero making its way into the elevator and right beside you.
"How are you feeling Dragă mea?" Pietro speaks out after a couple moments, you jumped in shock not realising the speedster was next to you.
"Dammit Piet! What did I say about doing that?" You held your hands over your chest, frightened. He looked at you apologetically before moving to the elevator buttons, pressing the button that stops the elevator from moving.
You stared at him as he sighed, struggling to put his thoughts into words.
"Piet... what's wrong?" You whispered, analysing his face and posture, you could tell he was stressed. He turned to look at you, his face softening when your eyes met.
"I can’t lose you prinţesă." He manages to say, making his way to you, reaching out for your hand.
His hand was warm in yours, he held onto your hand tightly, you looked at him confused, raising your hand to rest against his jaw, your thumb stroking his cheek gently.
“You’re not going to lose me, where’s this coming from Pietro?” You asked softly. He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you into his chest, your head rested against his chest. You could feel his uneven breaths, almost as if he’s on the verge of having a panic attack. Pietro struggled to even out his breath, panic bubbling up inside of him, he can’t lose you. Even the thought of losing you filled him with dread, he doesn’t deserve someone to risk their life for him, especially someone like you.
“How did I manage to get you?” He finally whispers, pulling back to look at you.
That’s when you understood what he was trying to say.
“I don’t want to lose you too, you know? Even the thought of it, it just-” You take a deep breath, smiling solemnly at him. “Every-time we go on a mission I’m terrified Piet, after what happened in Sokovia- after what happened to you. I cant lose you, I care too much about you.” The memories of what happened in Sokovia haunted you. You weren’t close to the Maximoffs then but you understood them, you understood their pain and loss. Similarly to them you had no one, no family, no one to say ‘I love you’ too.
Until now.
“That’s a very complicated way to say you love me, dragă.” He teased, you could see the redness in his eyes from the tears that were threatening to spill.
“Well no one else enjoys my baking as much as you do.” He rolled his eyes in response knowing your referencing the night before, while still holding you in his arms, he reaches out to turn the elevator back on.
No more words were needed to be said, not for now at least. You had each other, and that’s all that mattered to you, for now.

Something continuing the doctor /arthur thing from yesterday, perhaps? Maybe the doc helping arthur get some way to move and they go barhopping while arthur critiques the bartenders and the doctor gets drunk enough to get a bit flirtier?
I'm sorry, I'm stealing your segway idea again, because I can't get over the mental image.
Warning: drinking
On with the fic!
--
"I do not believe this is really allowed, Doctor." Arthur frowned, drumming his fingers on his too-clean countertop. "But then again, I think it's rather too late to be saying that, yes?"
"Very much too late, my friend." The Doctor said as he finished using the sonic screwdriver to make the finishing touches on the hook up he had just performed. An old Follow-Me Artificial cart from the TARDIS' storage room had been repurposed to allow for Arthur to be able to leave his track.
It had been delicate work, taking two hours to properly disconnect the android without messing up his advanced systems, but the Doctor was clever. He was able to do all of this while keeping Arthur awake through it all to make sure that systems were operating once he made connections. It was a bit like open brain surgery, only this was happening on the torso of an android who looked very human.
"Alright, I think that should... do it!" The Doctor pocketed the sonic and stood up, smiling. "Give it a try!"
Arthur gently moved back, quick to fix his central balance systems to make sure he didn't tip over. He moved this way and that, trying out his new wheels, looking surprised at how he moved away from the bar, to the front.
"It is... not as fluid as my track, but it is a bit more chaotic, in a good way." Arthur noted and the Doctor was beaming with pride at this.
"Molto bene!" He held out his arm for Arthur to take. "Ready for a little bar hoppin'?"
"This sounds like it might not end well." Arthur commented.
"Ah, come on, have a little fun! Trust me, things will be fun!"
--
Arthur had found that he and the Doctor had very different definitions of the word 'fun'. But then again, Arthur never really experienced something like that, it wasn't part of his basic programming.
After locking up the bar, the Doctor had let Arthur around the space port, doing what he called 'window shopping' along the way to the nearest bar or pub. He seemed rather fascinated with some of the tackier shops, commenting on how much he loved 'little shops'.
The first bar they found was loud, obnoxious, and dreadfully crowded. Arthur couldn't help but feel rather jealous that such a place was doing so much better than his own, but people sacrificed class and quiet conversations for loud music and water-downed beers that probably tasted dreadful when you weren't drunk.
Not that Arthur could really taste them, nor could he get drunk. He hadn't tried, to be honest, but he didn't see any reason to do so. Arthur had let the Doctor order from the basic server droid at the bar, getting another fruity drink, seemed he liked sweet ones best.
The android himself had looked around at the selections, bothered by what they were selling. It was either very cheap (and sold at double or triple the worth), or complex drinks that were probably toxic to many of the species who were in the bar.
It had taken him two drinks (drunk by the Doctor) before he voiced his opinions aloud.
A living staff member escorted him and the Doctor out.
The next bar was clearly themed. 'Earth themed', the Doctor had noted, 'in all the worst ways, it seems'. He had visibly cringed as he looked at the dreadful decorations about the walls, but still went and order himself some drinks while Arthur stood next to him.
They had talked for a while, as the Doctor drank three more drinks. Arthur had not pointed out how he was sure the alcohol in those drinks was of a dreadful quality. Clearly, if the Doctor wished to get drunk, they could do it back at his bar, he could make the perfect drinks for the Doctor.
But the Doctor didn't seem to notice that Arthur wasn't pleased with the service droid behind the counter, who kept topping off the Doctor's drinks when he didn't seem to notice. Now, that was just terrible service, one should ask if the customer wished for another drink, not just assume.
"Doctor, I think we should go to another place." Arthur sighed.
"Hmmm...?" The Doctor's eyes looked a little glassy. "Whatcha mean?"
"You're being overcharged on the credit stick you've been using to pay for your drinks because the service droid is topping off your glass. By doing so, it is charging you for a 'new glass'."
The Doctor frowned, looking at his glass. "I was wondering why it seemed bottomless." He then scanned it with the sonic. "Yep, this is not Kolipian bottomless crystal. Welp! Let's try another one, I think the next one is, uhh... well, I think that one is a tiki bar! Could go for a pina colada!"
The Doctor slipped out of his seat and nearly fell over, but Arthur was quick to catch him. The Time Lord blinked, looking at Arthur, then gave him a rather goofy grin. "Oooh, you're a strong one, aren't you?"
"I am programmed for heavy lifting, if need be." Arthur replied.
The Doctor just continued to grin, and seemed to adjust Arthur's lapel. "Ready for another bar?"
"Yes, though after that, I fear you might need to take a break."
"Ah! We Time Lords have amazing resistance to alcohol!" The Doctor said as he got himself to his feet, but he still had to have Arthur help him, leading them to the next bar in the port.
The bartender looked human this time, and was clearly not synthetic life. She looked at Arthur funny and then frowned at the Doctor. "Oh great, more tourists." She grumbled, but then asked for their orders.
"I'll take your signature drink, please!" The Doctor said loudly.
"And a glass of water, please." Arthur replied, not for himself, but for the Doctor.
The bartender nodded, preparing a large, strange drink for the Doctor and then gave Arthur the glass of water. "Drink." He said to the Doctor, pushing the glass to him.
The Doctor looked at it, sipping from it. "Aww, it's sweet you're trying to help me out." He said, that grin was back.
"I am a professional." Arthur sniffed.
The smile didn't falter, and the Doctor turned to his drink, taking a long drink from it before he paused, setting it down. He frowned, smacking his lips, as if trying to study something.
"Is it not good?" Arthur asked, feeling a bit of strange pride in the idea of the drink being bad.
"It's... oh." The Doctor frowned, looking at the half-finished glass. "Ah, that's... that's ginger I taste."
"Ginger?"
"Can't, uh, can't really do well with ginger." The Doctor hiccuped, his cheeks a darker shade of pink than they had been when he started getting a bit drunk.
"Ginger is rather popular in drinks around here, I guess because some species really like it." Arthur replied. "Are you allergic?"
"It makes me... drunk."
"You're already drunk."
"I was tipsy, I'm..." The Doctor rubbed at his face, giggling a bit. "Oooh, that was a lot of ginger, I think, uh, I think there was some in some of the other things I drank already."
He placed his head on his arms on the bartop, giggling still. Arthur scanned him quickly, ah, yes, he did appear to be quite drunk. "Doctor, I think we should stop with your bar hopping idea, you should get some water in and maybe something to eat to help with what you drank."
The Doctor looked at him, smiling brightly, his eyes bright yet glassy. "You are just... such a sweet guy, Arthur, worryin' about me an' all that."
He reached out, touching Arthur's cheek with just the lightest touch. "Gosh, you're really pretty."
"Thank you? I'm meant to have a face that makes people calm and trustful of my services, to know that they will have an enjoyable evening having drinks from someone like me."
"That's a good idea... I think your face, trusted you the moment I saw you, good guy, I thought! Pretty guy! With pretty camera eyes, ooh, never seen an android with such eyes like yours, bet you're the prettiest of all your models."
"I do believe I am the only one of my model, actually."
"Ooooh, that makes it better. A unique face, all your own." The Doctor moved, leaning closer. He seemed to be trying to fix Arthur's bow tie again, before he frowned, resting his hands on the bartender's shoulders instead. "Wanna, uh, wanna lay down now."
"We shall get you back to my bar then." Arthur motioned to the bartender to pay. Once that was taken care of, and having the Doctor drink more from the water glass, he helped the Time Lord back to his bar.
Once inside, he helped the Doctor to a booth to sit at it, then went to get another glass of water. When Arthur returned, he found the Doctor toying with a lock of his hair, eyes on the android. "Whatcha gonna do when I leave?"
"I'll probably have you return me to my track before you leave and then I shall return to work." Arthur frowned, setting the glass down.
The Doctor took the water, sipping it, and frowned. "Don't want you to do that, you're wastin' away here, Arthur."
"It is my job to be here, Doctor. I was built to serve in this location."
"Don't want you to be forgotten, to be alone... I want you to come with me."
Arthur blinked. "Come... with you?"
"To see the stars! To see, to see... beyond the port! To be able to do more than just move about on some tracks behind a counter! You look like... the curious type, who deserves more, who deserves to have questions answered, to ask questions to learn more."
The android didn't know what to say to that. "I don't..."
"Run away with me." The Doctor sat up, his hand on Arthur's shoulder again.
"Run away with you?" The android found himself asked, his voice quiet, and he swore he almost sounded... hopeful?
He knew better than to question things, to go beyond his programming. He had heard what happened to robots and androids who went against protocol, against their jobs, they were scrapped and forgotten, or completely changed from who they had been with a whole new chip system.
Arthur... hated the idea of being different. He had come to like the person he shaped himself as from his time being active, he feared being forgotten or destroyed.
But the idea of seeing beyond these walls? To no longer having to wait for the doors to open for a customer who will sit and stay?
It was a dangerous thing, to run away. "I don't think I can do that."
"Mmmm..." The Doctor frowned, moving to rest his head on his arms. "Will you think about it?" He asked, sounding tired.
Arthur wanted to say no, but instead he said "I shall think it over, yes."
This seemed to bring a smile to the Doctor's lips. "Good, I hope you say yes. Someone as lovely as you shouldn't be forgotten." He said, his voice trailing off as he started to fall asleep.
Arthur wasn't sure what to say to that, so he decided not to. He left the glass where it was and went back to the bar, to consider the Doctor's proposal.
--
Ginger making the Doctor drunk is such a weird fact, but then again, pain killers are a literal poison to them, so... *shrugs*
Not as flirty as I originally planned, but the Doctor really does find Arthur pretty (because the writer does).
Oh, and a Follow-Me Artificial is a thing from one of the audio stories that David read, it was a silly reference to one of my favorite stories.

New York | Loki x Female Reader
Loki (Marvel) x Doctor Who
Tumblr media
The TARDIS lands in New York City, leaving you and Loki to worry how the citizens might react to seeing the God wandering around the city he once attacked.
Part Seven | Part Nine | Chapter Index
Words: 5.1k
Warnings: angst and injury
Read on AO3
You had just finished getting dressed for the day, when you fell back into your bed, which Loki had yet to leave. You rested your head on his naked chest and listened to the rhythm of his heartbeat, as you basked in the heat of the warm morning sun which radiated through your artificial window.
Your arm wrapped around his stomach, which gently rose and fell with each breath and it fascinated you that this extraordinary, immortal being, who was resting in your bed, inhaled air through his lungs and had a regular heartbeat just like you or anyone else.
You picked up his hand and he let you examine it as you held it in the air with your own. He had four slender fingers and a thumb, his nails were neatly trimmed and his palm was scattered with creased lines, which you traced with the tip of your pointer finger, Loki’s hand twitched slightly at the ticklish feeling. You trailed your finger all the way down to the back of his narrow wrist and over the blue and purple lines of his veins, which decorated his pale skin in the shape of lightning bolts.
“You’re so... ordinary.” You softly thought out loud.
“Thanks?” Loki answered, his tone dripped with offence and sarcasm but you could tell it was lighthearted.
“No, wait. That came out wrong. I don’t mean it in a bad way,” you reassured him, “It’s just... fascinating.”
Loki hummed in acknowledgment and you intertwined your fingers and let your hands rest over his stomach.
Ever since your recent trip to the 1920s, one specific thought had occupied your mind. The Reverend’s transformation into his true form had reminded you that, despite how ordinary Loki may have appeared to look, there was another version of him being suppressed by magic, his Jotun form and true identity.
“Loki, can I ask you something?” You tentatively questioned.
 “Mhm... anything.”
“What do you really look like?”
 “What do you mean?”
“When we were inside the volcano in Pompeii, the Doctor scanned you with his sonic and said that magic was suppressing your true form.” You explained and you felt Loki’s body stiffen ever so slightly beneath you and from under you ear, you could hear that his heartbeat had increased its pace.
“Why... would you want to see that?” Loki slowly asked, he didn’t understand what desire you would have to see that part of him.
You propped yourself up on your elbow and looked down at him.
“Wouldn’t you want to see my true form if our roles were reversed?” You asked him, you don’t doubt if you had another form, Loki would wish to see it and if he imagined that, maybe it would help him understand your interest in his.
“That would be different.” Loki decided after thinking about it.
 “How so?”
“Your true form wouldn’t be...” Loki’s eyes drifted off with his words as his face twisted in disgust.
“Wouldn’t be what?” You nudged him.
“It’s just not something you would want to see, trust me.” He tried to gently explain.
 “I’m sure that’s not true–“
Loki cut you off by snapping your name and your lips immediately fell into a straight line as you stiffened, “just- just leave it.”
You tilted your head downwards and let your eyelids cast over your eyes as the tension left your body with a sigh. You rolled off the bed, muttering something about how the Doctor would be landing the TARDIS somewhere soon and you would meet Loki in the control room after he got dressed, before you swiftly slipped out of the room.
Loki brought his palms up to his face and let out a groan of frustration as soon as the door shut behind you, immediately regretting how he handled the situation.
Meanwhile on the other side of the wall, in the corridor, you were mentally beating yourself up. You should have noticed that he wasn’t comfortable with the idea of showing you his true form and respected his boundaries.
You already knew that no matter whether Loki was in his Asgardian or Jotun form, you would not see him any differently and you wanted him to understand that but you didn’t want him to feel forced to show you a part of himself he obviously had trouble accepting.
With your head hung regretfully, you pushed yourself off the corridor wall and made your way to the control room.
 ***
Your auntie called your name as soon as she saw you enter the control room, you looked up and saw her face splitting grin as she approached you.
“The Doctor is going to let me fly the TARDIS!” She told you, barely containing her excitement.
“Are you sure that’s a good idea? I mean, he barely even knows how to fly this thing, never mind you.” You worried.
“Hey!” The Doctor poked his head up from behind the console, clearly offended.
“It’s a health and safety hazard that this thing doesn’t have seat belts.” You continued.
“Well, there’s a rail,” the Doctor nodded his head to the rail that surrounded the centre controls, “and there’s handles around the console.” He demonstrated their sturdiness by pulling on one of them only for it to snap off and send him stumbling into the rail, which he managed to catch himself on. “As I was saying... there’s a rail,” he patted it, “very sturdy.”
“This thing is falling apart.” The Doctor commented to himself as he threw the broken handle over his shoulder, you heard the sound of metal clink as it landed somewhere beneath the platform which the console was on.
“Right, Donna, over here then” He called her over and she clapped her hands with excitement as she jogged around the console to where the Doctor instructed her to stand.
As he began muttering instructions to her, you decided to grab a tight hold of the rail, not trusting the handles on the console.
“I can’t believe I’m doing this!” Donna stated, the pitch of her voice rose with her enthusiasm and disbelief.
So far there had been minimal turbulence and you were beginning to think she might actually be a better pilot than the Doctor.
“Oh- oh, careful.” You heard the Doctor mutter as he pulled out a small hammer and hit it against the console before he switched a leaver, which caused the TARDIS to let out a whirling sound.
“Left hand down. Left hand down!” He urgently instructed your auntie, as soon as she pulled down the leaver in her left hand the TARDIS jerked harshly, if it weren’t for your tight hold on the rail it would’ve knocked you off balance.
“You’re getting a bit close to the 1980s!” The Doctor fretted as he watched the monitor.
“What am I gonna do, put a dent in them?” Donna rolled her eyes.
“Now, pull that down gently. Gently!” The Doctor stressed and the TARDIS shook violently as the sound of wheezing filled the room, which informed you it was landing, but rather harshly due to Donna’s amateur piloting.
“I did it! Did I do it? I did it, right? I landed the TARDIS?” Donna cheered joyously.
“You did it!” The Doctor confirmed, looking just as surprised.
“Doctor, that was a bad landing, even for you.” Loki critiqued the Doctor as he entered the control room, dressed in a navy blue button down with the shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows and tucked into some dark suit trousers.
“It was me.” Donna proudly corrected him, despite his negative criticism, and he raised his eyebrows, forming slight creases below his hairline.
“Well, Doctor, if you’re going to let anyone fly this thing it should be me. I can be a very skilled pilot.” Loki suggested.
The Doctor shrugged. “Yeah, I don’t see why not. You can have a go on our next trip. Then maybe you could have a go.” He looked at you and your eyes widened like saucers.
“Oh, no. No, thank you. No, I don’t trust putting all your lives in my hands.” You swiftly declined.
“Fair enough.” The Doctor grabbed his long brown trench coat off the seats next to the console and pulled it on. “Let’s go see where Donna crash landed.”
 ***
“No! No way! I landed in New York City?” Donna span around and looked up in awe at the skyscrapers that reached beyond the point her eye could see. “Doctor, we’re in New York City!”
“Yup, I can see that.” The Doctor remarked as he followed behind her with his hands tucked into his trouser pockets, he glanced around the busy street which was filled with people who were far too busy to even take a second glance at the blue police box which had materialised out of nowhere.
You and Loki shared a nervous glance as you stepped out last, both knowing what the other was thinking without even saying it. You weren’t sure what year it was, although you could already guess it was the modern day from the fashion and the vehicles which were stuck in traffic on the road nearby.
If it was any time after Loki’s attack, he might be easily recognisable and goodness knows the kind of panic it might cause if he is seen wandering around the streets of New York. On top of that, Donna and the Doctor still weren’t aware of Loki’s past and this would not be the most ideal way for them to find out.
Loki kept his head down, hoping that if the commuters didn’t notice the TARDIS, they wouldn’t notice him as the pair of you caught up with Donna and the Doctor, who by the sounds of it were already planning a trip on one of the topless tourist buses, dread filled you at the mere thought.
“That would be lovely, but we don’t have any money, do we?” You reminded them, feigning disappointment.
“Not to worry, I have the psychic paper, remember?” The Doctor pulled his wallet from his suit pocket and waved it in front of you and you had to quickly turn your glare into a smile.
“Yeah but, buses give me motion sickness.” Loki quickly interjected.
“You never get motion sickness on the TARDIS.” Donna looked at him sceptically. “If anything’s gonna give you motion sickness it’d be that thing.”
“Funny that, isn’t it.” Loki shrugged, pretending to be as baffled by it as she was.
“How about the observation deck of the Empire State Building instead.” The Doctor offered.
“I don’t really feel like doing touristy things. Why don’t we head back to the TARDIS and go somewhere else? We have the whole universe to explore.” You suggested.
“Are you all right?” Donna squinted her eyes at you. “You want to go back in the TARDIS and likely end up getting chased around by aliens? After the last few trips we’ve had, don’t you just wanna have some fun? This is New York City, what’s the worst that could happen here?”
As if on cue, the sound of a sonic boom carried through the streets and from the top of one of the buildings, that towered above the rest, an electric blue beam shot directly to the sky and parted it to form a worm hole which revealed the depths of outer space.
Like an endless swarm of flies, dark figures which you could not identify, flew out of the portal in all directions. There appeared to be another figure already combating the invasion, as it launched tiny missiles at the hostile threat, resulting in several explosive clouds to form midair but more creatures continued to arrive.
“You’ve got to me kidding me.” Donna groaned. “Can’t we go anywhere, just once, without either an alien invasion or someone getting possessed?”
Around you, people either stopped and stared at the battle in the sky above them or were already running in the opposite direction, some people were exiting their cars which were caught in the traffic jam and abandoning them without a second thought as they ran away in search of safety.
“Is that...” You spoke low enough just for Loki to hear and when you looked at him he appeared as though he was about to be sick as he nodded in confirmation.
You flinched with a yelp as one of the creatures crashed landed on top of one of the abandoned yellow taxi’s, crushing it beneath its weight. The sound of the car alarm echoed off the surrounding skyscrapers as the onlookers who hadn’t immediately ran, screamed with terror as they trampled down the street in a crowded herd, while you were glued to the spot alongside your auntie, Loki and the Doctor.
“What is that thing?” Donna’s face twisted with horror as she looked upon the motionless creature on the dinted roof of the taxi.
“Chitauri.” Loki answered as he began backing away. “We must leave. It’s not safe. More will come.”
The Doctor looked conflicted, as though he didn’t want to abandon the city without trying to help but with another glance up to the worm hole, he seemed to realise that the situation was out of his depth.
“Loki is right, return to the TARDIS!” The Doctor raised his arms to his sides and encouraged you all to start running, not that you needed to be told twice.
Loki grabbed your hand and lead the way, it wasn’t far, the blue box was in sight just at the very end of the now empty street which you were running down.
The sound of emergency sirens, car alarms, distant screams and explosions surrounded you and heightened your distress, but you tried to block it all out and remain focused on the TARDIS, which grew closer with every step, and the feeling of Loki’s hand secure in yours.
Every few seconds you glanced behind you, just to ensure that your auntie and the Doctor were safe and keeping up.
You were barely a few meters away from the TARDIS when one of the Chitauri landed in front of it, blocking your path, the concrete beneath its feet cracked from the impact of its land and you and Loki slid to a halt as it pointed its weapon at the pair of you.
Without hesitation Loki shot a burst of magic at the creature out of the palm of his hand and sent it flying straight into the doors of the TARDIS, where it slumped lifelessly to the floor.
You let out a breath you hadn’t realised you were holding as you let your tense muscles slightly relax, unfortunately you couldn’t enjoy the feeling of relief for long as Loki’s magic had attracted more of the Chitauri.
You couldn’t get into the TARDIS without moving the body in front of the doors and with the Chitauri beginning to surround you, pausing to drag the body out of the way would only make yourselves easy targets.
“Run!” You heard the Doctor shout above the noises of a city and you all retreated as the Chitauri shot lethal lasers towards you. Loki pulsated a wave of his harlequin magic towards the vicious aliens, knocking several of them into the walls of the surrounding buildings with so much force, the brick crumbled against their back as they flopped to the floor.
In the next street you ran into, several police cars gathered in the middle of the road, the officers crouched behind the open doors of their cars and pointed their handguns to the sky and shot aimlessly at the army overhead, needless to say, they weren’t providing much help.
The Doctor paused in the middle of the road, civilians were running in all directions. Some ran into buildings in search of safety, others ran out of buildings in fear of getting trapped. The Doctors eyes were wide beneath his wild eyebrows as he looked up and down the street.
“We need to find a subway! Get underground!” The Doctor shouted.
Your eyes caught sight of three pods which were flying in a V like formation as they began swooping down towards the street. You started backing away, until you realised that the one front and centre wasn’t being rode by a Chitauri. The person dressed in golden armour with an emerald green cape which screamed for your attention as it fanned out behind him and wearing a helmet designed with large horns, was Loki.
Your Loki’s eyes filled with terror as soon as he realised his past self was heading straight for you and he immediately began running towards you. While for you, it was as if time moved in slow motion, as you swear that the God flying above you looked you dead in the eye, sinister chills shot down your spine as his stare lacked any of the softness, care and adoration which it usually overflowed with whenever your Loki looked upon you. Before your eyes could even catch sight of it, a laser beam from his pod was shot directly at where you stood.
Your Loki reached you just in time to push you out of the way of the explosion it caused upon impact with the ground and the force of the blast launched both your bodies across the street.
You were the first to crash against the concrete and Loki landed after you. He had managed to prepare for the fall with his arms braced in front of him so when he landed above you, his hands were on either side of your shoulders, holding up his upper body so he didn’t crash down straight on top of you.
He heard your auntie cry your name, as she rushed to your side and Loki hesitantly repeated it as he gently nudged your shoulder, you were curled up on your side, next to the curb and your face was hidden from view by your hair.
Loki’s stomach filled with nerves so strong they caused nausea, at the thought of how you might look at him once you turned over onto your back. He would never forgive himself if your eyes widened with fright as they looked upon him, since you had just witnessed his past self shoot a lethal blast directly at you, he feared it might permanently damage your perception of him.
Guilt was already drowning his heart in his chest and it floated in the rising levels up to his throat which choked around it as he struggled to pull air into his lungs.
He was already remorseful of his actions on this day but now he had just witnessed himself attempt to hurt– or rather, kill you. The thought of you coming in harms way had bile rising from Loki’s stomach, the thought of himself being the one responsible for you getting hurt caused an unbearable amount of guilt to stab through his heart so hard it caused physical pain.
“Why isn’t she moving?” Donna’s voice pulled him back to reality.
He had saved you, he pushed you out of harms way. You were just scared and you needed to be reassured that you were out of danger. Loki gently nudged you again, softly calling your name.
“I’m so sorry. You’re safe now, my love. I won’t hurt you, I promise. Please forgive me.” Loki whispered to you.
“Loki, she’s not moving.” Donna repeated, the panic was evident in her voice as she called the Doctor over.
“Darling, please open your eyes for me.” Loki had been so concerned by the thought of how you might look at him once you laid your eyes on him, but now he realised he didn’t care at all how you looked at him he just wanted to see you open your eyes. He didn’t understand why you weren’t. He had saved you from the explosion, he had protected you from harm.
“Loki,” He felt the Doctors hand rest on his shoulder and he shrugged it off, “let me look over her, I want to help.”
Hesitantly Loki shifted so he was no longer leaning over you and instead kneeling by your side.
“Oh my god.” Loki heard Donna gasp, as a sob crawled from her throat. He looked up at her, where she stood by your feet and then back down to where her eyes were fixated.
There was blood smeared on the edge of the curb just above your head, Loki hadn’t noticed it before, since his eyes were only focused on you and Donna hadn’t seen it either because Loki had been blocking her view.
The Doctor cautiously rolled you onto your back and that’s when Loki saw the right side of your face. You had graze marks across your chin and cheekbones but what pierced ice cold panic straight through his bloodstream was the large injury on your temple.
The Doctor began sliding his arms under your back and your legs.
“What are you doing?” Loki worried and the Doctor paused his movements and nodded to a deserted alleyway that was just across from them.
“I’m going to move her off the street, it will be safer there.” He explained and Loki nodded in agreement and let the Doctor scoop you up. Loki wanted to be the one to carry you, but he wasn’t sure you would appreciate that since the only reason you were in this state in the first place was because of him.
“Will she be okay? How bad is it? Can you fix it?” Donna fretted, her eyes were brimming with tears as she tenderly placed her palm on the crown of your head as she walked beside the Doctor. He remained silent, not answering any of her questions, he wasn’t going to promise her anything until he could properly examine you.
The Doctor carefully placed you back on the ground, once you were in the safety of the secluded alley. He reached into his coat pocket as he knelt beside you and pulled out his sonic screwdriver, he scanned it over you to get a diagnostic of the damage caused to your body.
As he did this Donna knelt on your other side, holding your hand and whispering to you that everything would be okay, although it was mainly to comfort herself. Loki kept his distance and watched on with tear filled eyes, constantly playing back in his mind how he could’ve saved you differently so that you wouldn’t have suffered a head injury as the blast launched you to the floor.
“She’s alive.” The Doctor confirmed and Donna sobbed with relief as she whispered to you that she knew you would be okay and praised how strong you were but the Doctor’s face remained solemn and it didn’t take long for Donna to pick up on it.
“What’s wrong? You said she’s alive, that means she’s okay, right? She’s going to wake up.” Donna looked at the Doctor with so much hope, just wanting to hear him reassure her that you were going to come around but he remained silent. “Doctor, tell me she’s going to be okay.” She demanded.
“She has a subdural haematoma.” The Doctor explained grimly.
“What...” Donna’s voice trembled with the force of her cries.
“There is a bleed on her brain, it would require emergency surgery to fix it.”
“Then what are we doing in an alley?” Donna gulped back her sobs. “We have to get her to a hospital!”
Loki sniffed back his tears and harshly wiped his eyes with the back of his wrists, realising that wallowing in his own guilt wasn’t going to fix anything.
He approached your unconscious body and knelt above your head, as he reached both his hands out to place them over your scalp, Donna reached out her own hand to stop him.
“What are you doing?” She worried.
“I can heal her.” Loki promised and Donna’s eyes swam with hope as she retracted her hand with a nod and let him continue.
She went back to whispering words of reassurance to you and herself as she cradled your hand to her chest, while Loki cradled your head.
Slowly a green essence surrounded his fingers and began to sink into your skull, Loki closed his eyes to concentrate on where he was focusing his energy. It was a very tricky and delicate task, he was used to his magic being more chaotic rather than gentle and precise, so it required a lot of focus. He blocked out the sounds of the battle taking place beyond the alley, he blocked out the sirens and alarms and he blocked out Donna’s whispers until he was surrounded by silence and it was just you, him and his magic.
Once he was certain he had removed the bleed from your brain, repaired the rupture and fixed any damages he could find, he placed a sleeping spell over you in order for you to recover. He was carefully withdrawing his magic from your skull when a force hit him hard in the centre of his chest, at first he just jerked but he managed to maintain control over his magic and was able to carefully retract it from your mind.
Once the green essence had absorbed back into his own fingertips, he opened his eyes and tuned back into reality. Donna was panicking as her eyes bounced between his wounded chest and the opening to the alley, while the Doctor was trying to help her remain calm.
Loki looked down at his chest and saw an arrow imbedded in it, nothing that could cause him any severe damage, but he vigilantly watched the rooftops which were visible to him from his position, searching for a particular archer. He was about to pull the sharp weapon from his chest when his limbs began to feel limp and heavier than usual.
Suddenly he was no longer able to sit up and his back collided with the rough ground and he quickly realised that the arrow must have been coated in a toxin which entered his bloodstream and rendered him immobile, as much as he tried to fight it, it were as if his bones were made of mjÜlnir.
“Loki, did you truly believe that changing your attire and hiding in a dark alley would make you unnoticeable?” A deep voice caught the attention of Loki, Donna and the Doctor.
“Thor, you are astoundingly boneheaded.” Loki groaned from the ground.
“Now, now, brother. No need to insult my intellect just because you’re wounded by the fact I outwitted you.” Thor spoke in a condescending manner.
“I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you have not outwitted me, not even close.” Loki boredly replied.
“My Lady, I assure you’re safe now. What did Loki do to your friend?” Thor ignored his brother and addressed Donna who had been staring at him with a slack jaw ever since he had made his presence known.
“He uh... He healed her.” Donna answered in a dumbfounded state.
“Healed?” Thor slowly repeated with a tilt of his head.
Before he could ask any further questions, his attention was stolen by a doorway shaped portal which materialised near the back of they alley. A man wearing a brown suit stepped through it, followed by two armed officers dressed in black combat uniforms.
The Doctor glanced over his shoulder once he heard the sound of footsteps echoing off the narrow walls and immediately recognised the man.
“Oh, Loki,” Mobius sighed as he stood over him. “What did I tell you about using your magic? I suppose I should be grateful as it has made my job a lot easier, the boss has been on my case all week about finding you. I was this close,” he held up his pointer finger and thumb a hairline away from each other, “to getting fired. So honestly, I’ve never been more glad to see your face. That injury isn’t fatal is it?” He pointed to the arrow in Loki’s chest.
“I am beginning to wish it was.” Loki groaned as he stared up at the fair haired man who stood over him before the two officers grabbed each of his arms and dragged him to his feet.
Once he was stood to his full height, Mobius walked up in front of him and secured a collar with a small red light on it, around his neck. Loki growled and used what little strength he had to try and shake it off, but it proved useless.
“Hey!” The Doctor and Thor shouted towards Mobius at the same time.
“What authority do you have to arrest my brother.” Thor demanded.
“Let him go!” The Doctor ordered.
As soon as Mobius saw the Doctor again, his face paled and he commanded the officers to swiftly move Loki through the portal, as they did the God growled and yelled threats the entire way, trying to conjure his usual strength back into his bones and muscles.
“I don’t want any trouble, I’m just doing my job.” Mobius held up his hands as he looked between the Time Lord and the mighty, armour clad warrior wielding a large hammer.
“I can’t let you do that.” Thor said as he began swinging the hammer in his fist like a helicopter propeller, which caused his crimson cape to wave majestically behind him.
Mobius’ eyes widened with fright as he muttered something about how he doesn’t get paid enough for this, before he leapt through the portal and it vanished behind him just before Thor’s hammer could reach it and instead it went crashing through a brick wall and into the building behind the alley.
“Loki has been taken.” Thor suddenly spoke and for a moment Donna and the Doctor stared at each other as they wondered who he was talking to, until they saw his face twist with confusion and realised he was listening to someone through a discreet communication device. “Stark tower... but he was just here... damn it, Loki.” He cursed as he held out his hand with an open palm, Donna and the Doctor flinched as his hammer came flying back to him, smashing another hole into the brick building it previously went crashing through.
“Oi watch it! You nearly knocked my block off!” Donna complained.
“Apologies, my Lady.” Thor distractedly expressed his remorse as he once again began propelling his hammer, Donna ducked down, leaning her upper body over your sleeping form in an effort to protect both you and herself, while the Doctor stepped backwards with his arm raised in front of his face.
All of a sudden, Thor shot off the ground and into the air like a rocket and Donna and the Doctor craned their necks to follow him with their eyes until they could no longer see him.
“I just wanted a nice, normal trip for once.” Donna sighed before she looked down at you, “She’s going to be devastated when she wakes up and realises Loki has gone.”
“We’ll get him back.” The Doctor said determinedly.

Lansoni One-Shot: Black Gives Way to Blue
My life has been overrun by these two idiot hedgehogs, largely thanks to @silvermun and @teamxdark, so I felt an overpowering need to write something about them. And so I did.
------------------------------------
“Sire, I’ve arrived at your request.”
I take a bow before lifting my visor. My king sent for me a few minutes ago and, to be frank, I was excited to see his face again. Sonic, he calls himself. But he strikes a resemblance to King Arthur. Whatever his name was, I swore to serve his majesty.
I wasn’t quite certain what he had summoned me for, however. I had a slight feeling of dread, fearing I may have somehow grossly overstepped my bounds or committed a transgression.
Sonic chuckled. “Great to see you, Lancelot.” He cleared his throat before continuing.
“I, uh… I know this is odd of me to ask you, but I wanted to invite you to a picnic with me.”
I balked at his request. What was this “picnic” he spoke of?
“Sire, I don’t believe I understand your request,” I responded.
“Oh, uh…” Sonic began snapping his fingers, as if trying to beckon someone else over.
“...Sire?”
“Uh, what I meant to say was… I wanted to invite you to lunch.”
I was taken quite aback at that. A king being charitable to his knight? Surely, that was unheard of. A tad suspicious, even.
Despite my own confusion, I wanted to know more.
“A luncheon? Who shall our guests be?”
The king raised an eyebrow. “...There are no guests. I’m only inviting you. Y’know… just spending some time together…”
If I hadn’t known him better, I would have taken this as a sign that I would be secretly disposed of for high treason. But this king was different. I had… a strange connection to him that I can’t quite explain.
Whatever my grievances might have been, I accepted his invitation nonetheless.
A few hours later, my king and I were seated on a riverbank overlooking the kingdom. Sonic took out two large pots, two plates, and sets of cutlery. He opened the pots to reveal two large slabs of well-cooked veal in each. With his bare hands, he hurriedly tossed two pieces of meat onto each plate, giving one of them to me.
“Thank you greatly, sire,” I spoke.
“No worries, Lance,” Sonic said.
I began to slice my first piece of veal while Sonic dug right in, crudely shaving off pieces of meat with his fork.
As the two of us ate, my eyes kept drifting towards the sight of the king. His brilliant green eyes were as alluring as a wizard’s trick, his infectious grin distracting me from my meal.
I’ve had a most strange feeling of affection towards the king for a while, but I could never bring myself to confess to him. What would he think? What if he rejected me? Or worse?
But I couldn’t help myself. I was hopelessly attracted to him. If he asked me right then and there if I wanted to spend the rest of his days with him, I would accept him in a heartbeat. I swooned for him in private, day and night. Almost every waking moment spent with the king was thinking about him and how much I adored him. But did he feel the same way at all? There’s no way a knight like myself could ever be acquainted so affectionately with a king such as him. I...
“Something wrong, Lance?”
I snapped back to my senses, clearly flustered by his notice. “No, sire…” I sputtered.
The king continued to glance at me. I could feel a pit in my stomach growing.
“There’s something on your mind. I can tell,” he said.
My face instantly began to burn and my hands trembled. He’s onto me! What shall I do?!
“...Lance?”
“S-Sire, I… there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you… for a long time now…”
“...I’m listening.”
I take a deep breath, still nervous to the highest degree.
“For years, I have gladly and humbly served you, my king, as a senior Knight of the Roundtable. I have the utmost highest respect for you.”
“Cool, thanks…” Sonic replied.
“However, I have developed… strong feelings towards you, I must confess. I needed to say this to you so that it no longer plagued my thoughts.”
Sonic stared at me, his face turning pink. After a moment of silence, he laughed softly.
“This is really unlike you, Shad– er, I mean, Lance… are you saying that you…”
“Sire… I th-think I’m… in love with you…” I choked.
Instantly, Sonic’s ears drooped and his smile… grew wider? Was he… feeling the same way?
“Lance…”
Suddenly, some outside force overtook and controlled me. Without a second thought, I pulled him in and brought his lips to my own. I closed my eyes and embraced my king.
I expected a strong reprimand. I expected him to shove me away or struggle against me.
But no such protest was felt. In fact, Sonic was… reciprocating?
As we kissed, I felt Sonic’s arms wrap around me and I soon did the same.
My fear melted away. The world around us seemed to blur and it was only us. In this moment in time, all that remained were ourselves. This could last forever. And, oh, how I wished it would. This was the most blissful I’ve felt in my entire life. I finally felt connected to my king.
After what felt like hours, but was only but a minute, we pulled away from each other. Alas, Cupid’s proverbial arrow struck me again and I couldn’t help but pull myself back in for another kiss. This one was shorter, but no less passionate than the first.
After a little while more, we pulled away from each other again. Finally, I opened my eyes again and my gaze met his. I could feel my face turning even redder than it was before, and Sonic’s face did the same.
“...May we stay here a little while longer, sire?”
“...Of course, Lancelot. However long you want.”

Rise of the Wisps Part 1
Tumblr media
Orbot paced about the room–Metal Sonic would be here any minute now, and he was not looking forward to having his superior silently staring down at him. The fur on the back of his neck stood on end, and the armadillo put his hands together, attempting to still his quaking. Dr Eggman had originally been overseeing the project, but since the blunderbots were prone to taking too many breaks instead of remaining hard at work, he had decided to put Metal Sonic in charge of them, which was a terrifying prospect of itself. Orbot’s dear companion, Cubot, wasn’t as comforting as usual, mostly since one of the crates containing multiple Wisp containers had nailed him in the head, and promptly caused his voice chip to become discombobulated. Because of that, well, he wasn’t really speaking at all, and when he was …
“ROCKET!” Cubot boomed, throwing his hand out to catch a tumbling Wisp container that he’d clumsily dropped from his stacked pile. Orbot jumped, and proceeded sigh, shoulders slumping as he walked over to grab his own sets of containers, and bring them over to the nearby Drainer.
“Cubot, can you please be careful? Metal Sonic is on his way, and the Boss already knows we’ve been lazing about… we have to at least appear good at our jobs.” A bit of a smirk from the armadillo, and Cubot turned his head to give a thumbsup. “We really need to do something about your voice chip, pal. It’s no fun carrying a conversation by myse–”
And just then, the exit opened up, revealing Metal Sonic as he stepped into the room, red eyes piercing the dim lighting of the room. Orbot and Cubot immediately stood at attention, saluting their superior officer and looking as professional as possible… until it seemed a good amount of time to set at ease. Metal Sonic wasn’t that talkative, so it was better to try and… figure out what he wanted rather than wait for him to say anything.
    “Metal Sonic, Sir! What a–”
       “GOOD! GREAT!! AWESOME!!!”
Orbot glared at his companion, elbowing him in the side before turning back to Metal, hands clasped together eagerly, “–Honor it is to work with an–”
       “OUTSTANDING!!!!!”
Oh for the love of– “Marvel of engineering such as yourse–”
       “AMAZING!!!!!!!!!”
With a kick to the back of the leg, causing Cubot to wobble and nearly lose his balance, Orbot turned to Metal once more and put a hand over the Labrador’s mouth, sighing loudly, “Pay him no mind. His voice chip has been on the fritz, you see.”
Cubot whined out a pathetic “ROCKET!” from behind Orbot’s hands, and the armadillo groaned, rubbing his temples. Okay, back to business. Metal Sonic was already ignoring the both of them, walking to the nearest capsules and examining them. Orbot was quick to remain by his side, ears lifting up. “Now, is there anything we can do to make your time with us more pleasant?”
Those piercing red eyes flashed as the blue robot barely turned to face Orbot, and the armadillo felt a chill of pure dread race down his spine. He let out a little nervous laugh, hands squeezing tightly together as he backed up, bumping into Cubot’s front, “Ah, yes, of course! Our jobs…” So much for more breaks. There’s no way Metal Sonic would allow them time to goof off, “We’ve just got to get these Wisps,” he gestures to the seemingly endless piles and crates of the critters, careful to keep his tone friendly and welcoming, “processed and shipped out across the planet.”
Dr Eggman’s stern words rang in Orbot’s mind, his ears stinging with memory from when the egg-shaped scientist had grabbed them and hoisted him up by them. “And Eggman asked very sternly that we not do it like complete…” he made quotation marks with his fingers, allowing just a bit of his restrained resentment to seep out, “bumbling imbeciles.”
Metal Sonic didn’t seem all that impressed. Actually, he didn’t seem like he had any expression at all, considering he had zero facial emotion to begin with. No mouth, only evil eyes. With the lack of feedback, Orbot bowed low, smiled nervously and gave a thumbsup, before slapping a hand to Cubot’s back and pushing him to another part of the room… To work, to work!
As the two started picking up capsules, Orbot noticed that Metal Sonic had followed them over, and he attempted to remain friendly. Both Cubot and Metal were unable to talk, which made Orbot self conscious about how much he was speaking, and then, well. It was leading him to just talking from a stream of consciousness sort of way, “but don’t you worry–Big bro!–Can I call you big bro?”
Oh no, why did he say that? Metal Sonic was going to eviscerate him. Or maybe it would endear the superior robot to Orbot and Cubot, and like his namesake, he’d want to look out for the two Robians. Protect them! … Not bloody likely. The lack of response of any kind had Orbot immediately speaking again.
“–Anyway, we aren’t bumbling at all! Are we, Cubot?” He’d turned to his companion, who despite being bigger than both of them, was struggling to carry the five or six capsules he’d decided he could totally handle, and they were bouncing around in his arms… CRASH!!!
This was clearly all the evidence Metal Sonic needed, as he immediately took both of Orbot’s capsules from him, turned, and proceeded to head towards the Drainer, with Orbot wincing and walking after him, whimpering as he tried to think of something to say. This was definitely going to get them scolded by Dr Eggman, for sure.
While the three worked, they weren’t paying attention to the secret Wisp Mission happening behind them, with Wisps being freed from their capsules left and right. It wasn’t until a Jade Wisp flew through Cubot that things started to get interesting. His body turned green and became translucent, and the capsules he’d been carrying smashed on the ground, freeing the Wisps trapped inside, much to Cubot’s absolute bewilderment. He was trying to recapture the Wisps, but they were too slippery for the big badnik.
Orbot, who’d been attempting to make sure everything would run smoother from here out, put his hands on his haunches and glared at the Labrador, “Honestly… What did I JUST say about bumbling?” Cubot wanted to whine, but nothing came out of his throat, and so his tail hung between his legs and his ears drooped lower, shoulders sagging.  Just then, more Wisps began to fly around the room, escaping out the exit–Orbot and Cubot had to move fast to try to capture them all. Jumping and running to and fro, grabbing as many as they could as Metal Sonic joined in the hunt.
Things were going well, but Cubot bumbled into Orbot, and all the progress they’d made was for nothing–there go all the Wisps they’d just caught! Luckily, Metal Sonic had captured the defacto leaders of the Wisp Resistance, even as they used their abilities against him, he was much stronger than they were.
Still, quite a few Wisps had escaped, and that meant bad news for Orbot and Cubot. Their heads hung as they bowed low to Metal, who walked past them without so much as a glare. Inserting the re-captured Wisps into the Drainer, he mercilessly stole their Energy from them, transforming them into Void Wisps, purple and zombie-like husks.
It seemed that Metal Sonic would be accompanying the blunderbots across Sweet Mountain, to ensure that their jobs were done properly.

Smug Bug Reads: Fleetway’s Sonic the Comic’s Tails; The Nameless Zone Part 1
After a long teased possibility of Tails getting his own shorts, it’s finally here. In it, we see some of Tails’ own thoughts on being left behind by Sonic, as well as some exploration of The Nameless Zone, a zone that he (and perhaps others?) look at with caution and even fear...

It’s no secret by now that this continuity’s Sonic isn’t exactly friendly. While yes he is no doubt a hero, he seems easily annoyed and very blunt about what he thinks. Unfortunately, Tails is treated no better. This miniseries starts off with that; Tails tries his best to keep up with Sonic, but the hedgehog - in summary - tells him to beat it, and that he’ll see him some other time. Tails, now dejected, walks off. He’s confident he can be helpful, even if the he has made a few blunders in the past...          I really gotta ask why Tails adores Sonic this much, especially with his sour attitude. Heck, the critters too don’t seem to mind it either. I guess they don’t pay it too much attention since he keeps saving their hides on the regular. Continuously doing that alone and not asking for anything in return shows that he really does care about them, but the guy could stand to learn to improve his conduct. Poor Tails is all down because of that.
Before said fox can mope further though, a voice calls out to him from beyond...

The Nameless Zone, huh? Is this their version of some sort of boogeyman or something? But it’s not a boogeyman, it’s a place, and instead of it being fake, it’s actually real? Maybe it’s some sort of legend, myth, or story passed around. Anyways, really got to wonder what makes this place so bad to be considered Tails’ number one fear after facing threats from Robontik and his creations more than a couple times by now. Despite being his greatest terror, he approaches and enters the portal.

... He makes it sound like some sort of daily chore. Not quite as fearful as I thought he’d be assuming the Nameless Zone is his biggest source of dread, but I guess this was done to save space, time, and pages within the comic.          Moving on! Upon entering the portal, he comes across two curious characters:

Who? Who are these dudes? Both foxes(?), maybe? How much does Tails know about them, and what are they capable of? Clearly quite a bit since they were able to open up a portal to another zone.
Perhaps those questions will be answered another time, but right now they answer why they brought Tails over...

There seems to have been quite the misunderstanding.          If it wasn’t obvious, the Enchanter King was referring to Sonic, who in Tails’ letters seems to not be as heroic compared to his real counterpart. Rather, he’s described as an “assistant” instead. Tripping over his words, Tails tries to explain that Sonic is actually the real hero, but the Enchanter Kings think he’s just being humble. They are really sold onto the idea that Tails is a real big shot, so much so that they made an enchanted battle armor just for him. What’s this armor for, you may ask?
