here i am to shower you in compliments!!!! 🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️🌧️
i started with your fae tales works (probably like a lot of your readers) and since then have been obsessed with everything you write. you are my go-to read when i need a reprieve from boredom, a reminder to be strong when i'm struggling, or just some plain old comfy comfort. your characters have stuck with me for years now and will probably always hold a special place in my heart. when im sad i often just think of gwyn and augus relaxing in nature and being goofy-happy together, or ef and arden playing with a cute dog, or pitch and jack jamming to some music in their home together while pitch makes dinner. thank you truly does not feel like enough!
now here is a potentially dumb and/or already asked question: of all of the many many characters that you have written (and their many different iterations), is there one that you identify with the most? this might be too silly of a question, so feel free to just douse yourself in the compliments shower and ignore the rest :)
Hi hi anon!
This ask makes me so happy, just... *flails happily* also that you're able to reach for my writing at different times, and different characters for different reasons. AHHHH thank you!!! Thank you for reading as well :D I consider myself showered!
(Also for your asked question, tbh I don't really know! It tends to be whoever I'm writing at the time, and then I sort of...move onto the next characters. There is no real 'most' though, I don't like to put too much of myself into any one MC, because I'm not a writer who enjoys self-inserts (like to the point where I don't want any of my video game characters to be based on me or to look like me in video games) - as a result, they all kind of get a similar amount of 'a bit like me' and therefore I kind of relate to them all on a similar level.
There's been ones I haven't related to as much, which to some degrees is probably Mosk, Flitmouse and Connor, but otherwise I don't really want to relate to them too much. So it's more like... 'I have to relate to them due to writing their emotional states and relating helps' - so I relate most to whoever's emotional state I'm writing at the time :D )

your top 5 good finales of BL (not necessarily of 2023)?
This is such a hard question since most shows have mid to weak finales, but I did come up with five from shows I watched this year (though not all originally aired this year).
I Cannot Reach You
Tumblr media
If you haven't watched this jbl yet, please do so immediately. It's on Netflix now in most regions. Truly a perfect friends to lovers narrative that is so smart about the tropes it deploys, and sometimes subverts. The finale left the relationship in such a strong place, paid off the sexual tension in a way most jbls don't, and did one of my favorite trope subversions of the whole show.
La Pluie
Tumblr media
I know some of y'all complained about the pacing of this finale but I gotta say, you're just wrong. We needed to see Tai make his long slow journey to work through his own bullshit and be the one to find Patts and finally use his words. It was a fitting end, an important conclusion to Tai's character arc, and a final exclamation point on the show's themes.
Jack O' Frost
Tumblr media
I love love love this underappreciated jbl about the lies, big and small, that we tell in relationships and how they affect trust, and I love that its message was ultimately that it is worth sticking it out with someone you love even if they have disappointed you. Ritsu's realization that he had also been dishonest, even if not on the same scale as Fumiya, and his realization of how much joy and confidence the relationship brought him, opened a door for him to see his way to forgiveness.
Wedding Plan
Tumblr media
THE GAYS WON!!! Yiwa told her parents to fuck off and eloped with Marine. Sailom was freed from his fake wedding and any expectations that he would ever marry a woman. Nuea got the love and devotion he deserved. And we got a beautiful story about finding the bravery to live an honest life and rebuilding your family with the people you can trust. Such a beautiful show.
What Did You Eat Yesterday?
Tumblr media
This show originally aired in 2019, but I watched it for the first time this year, and its first season has one of the best final episodes of all time. The show is slice of life but there is an ongoing relationship arc playing out across the season, and the season finale pays it off beautifully, with Shiro and Kenji experiencing a moment of emotional catharsis that was so well-earned. Not sure anything will ever top it.
Ask my top 5 anything in bl

Jack Frost is a social butterfly and you can expect that to carry over to your sex life. It’s not necessarily a problem that he talks, but it might make you giggle hearing him try to finish his sentences between loud ragged breaths and whimpers when you bounce and grind on his dick. It seems that he needs to tell you how good you feel as if his desperate moans weren’t enough. He'll tell you how good your pussy feels; how beautiful are; how much he loves you. He'll want your validation too! He adores being praised, so much that it's a kink of his. He wants you to say his name and tell them how badly you want his cum. Don’t worry if you can’t keep up with his incoherent blubbering mess because he'll mostly do it to keep himself from cumming too soon. Take comfort in knowing that when you both cum, you’ll have a few minutes of silence before he starts reminiscing about how hot it was.

Jelsa headcanons because THEMMMMM LOOK AT THEM
Tumblr media
Elsa is an insomniac and Jack is a heavy sleeper I HAVE SAID IT AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN.
Love language is physical touch. Loves holding hands often to remind them that they're more than just cold hands
Elsa loves looking at him when he's not looking. And when he does, she smile grows as he smiles as well.
Dumbasses. There are millions of dumbasses but they're my favorite.
Elsa sometimes doesn't get his dad jokes
Jack talks about Elsa the way Aladdin talked about Jasmine to the genie in that one scene
In Taylor Swift songs, I would describe their relationship dynamic as the 'sweet nothing' and 'afterglow' type.
THEY BOTH ARE MAMA'S BABIES. JACK IS A MAMA'S BOY AND ELS IS A MAMA'S GIRL. FOR SURE.
They both do not know how to dance and they just sort of learned to dance with each other.
Elsa takes her gloves off when she's with him. (Pre-coronation)
I don't think Elsa gives him the silent treatment when they fight. She knows that all his life people were passing through him like he doesn't exist, so pretending that he doesn't exist would strike a memory in him.
Constantly argues, but not too much. It's normal for them to have disagreements and things doesn't necessarily have to end up with them raising voices.
Elsa will do anything to get cuddles with this man. Everything.
Enjoys stargazing.
Elsa has panic attacks, Jack has nightmares. Get them therapy.
They're menaces that Tooth and Anna has to keep in a leash constantly /hj
Jack: "I still love you no matter how many times you sing in the middle of the night"
Jack is Elsa's ball of sunshine aside from Anna.
Jack jokes about how big her eyes are
Elsa steals his hoodie.
Jack is a switch for sur-
I cannot stress enough how much they love being in each other's arms. Ten page long essay. Powerpoint presentation. I'll do it.
They'd be cheezy parents that their future kids would be embarrassed of them being over each other.
Jack kisses her all over when she's mad at him
They both play pranks at Anna
Jack makes funny faces to make Elsa laugh when she's upset and it works.
Their mutual pining lasted longer their actual relationship /hj
Jack has scars on his back from when Pitch yeeted him, and Elsa was the first one he trusted to see them.
Elsa is a songwriter and he listens to her works.
Their first kiss was under the mistletoe
They make perfect snow angels
Elsa makes a huge ass snowball like she did with Anna in that one short clip while chasing Jack in high heels and he'd never felt more terrified and inlove before in his life.
Jack's the flirty one, but when elsa flirts back, best believe he just stands there beet red.
Jack is big on surprises, and Elsa loves giving gifts.
Their pet name for each other is either Love, or Snowflake/Frosty. Im not accepting anything more. This is my headcanon.
Elsa is thirsty for him. Girlie I know what you are. She's the thirsty one in the relationship
They're both bisexuals :)
Jack fell first, Elsa fell harder.
Sunshine = Elsa. Sunshine protector = Jack.
Jack gets along with Elsa's snow children (olaf, marshmallow, snowgies) very well. They're his children now. Marshmallow has a soft spot for his dad. All of them appeared in Jelsa's wedding. Marshmallow cried.
Jack starts the snowball fights, Elsa finishes them.
Lots of bickering.
Jack teases her about the "let it go" sequence and she loathes it.
They both play with Sandy's dream sands.
Elsa gets along with Tooth very well. Me personally, I see Tooth as too busy swooning over Elsa's teeth to consider her a love rival. They're besties and that is the hill I am prepared to die on.
For the first time in Jack's life, when they first started dating, Jack Frost was on the nice list.
North SHIIIIPPS THEMMM. He'd be the type to embarrass Jack in front of Elsa and HE WOULD. HE WOULD.
The elves adore Elsa and Jack had to shoo them away for being all over her.
Elsa helps North make toys and Jack is just being Jack.
They love playing with each other's hairs. They can't stand cuddling without doing it.
Elsa, surprisingly, was an open book to Jack.
Jack's favorite pillow is her lap.

I am curious what your take is on this "star boy the shape shifter" after seeing your nice reply to that clown. Even if the idea remained I have a funny feeling about it in my spirit.
Thank you for the ask!! People will cling on anything just to hate on another Disney movie (without even watching it nor caring about Disney in the first place lol), they think it makes them look cool I guess?
Honestly, I like the concept of human Star. I know we don’t know for sure if he was gonna be a love interest, even though the demo version of At All Costs strongly makes me think so. Even having him as a platonic friend to Asha, not necessarily a love interest, had potential in my opinion, but an old fashioned love story would have been nice for the Disney 100th (we arguably don’t have one since Tangled). Especially the shapeshifting part would have been so fun to see in animation! I’m imagining some sort of fusion between Maui and Jack Frost lmao
HOWEVER, unlike some people who, clearly, are just in love with the aesthetic of it and were searching for yet another reason to sh*t on Disney, I’m not PISSED at the writers for changing that. First of all I’m pretty satisfied with what we got: as I said previously, I definitely don’t consider Wish the BEST Disney movie, but still a quite enjoyable one with nice characters, animation, and music. Secondly, we don’t know the full original story, we don’t even know if they had one when Starboy was considered. Maybe it didn’t work, maybe they were just exploring ideas and some concepts of him as a human were made. It’s not like this is the first time a cool scrapped concept appears in an art book lol, Disney art books are filled with those.
Also, I feel like people need to understand that it’s perfectly fine to say “you know what this would have been cool. I’m making a fic/fanart/headcanon” instead of immediately going “oh my goddd!!! this would have been SO much cooler than the actual movie, which I haven’t seen, based on this specific scrapped concept art and some ai art I’ve seen on tiktok!!!” I know it’s not EVERYONE acting this way but, sorry, most complaints I’ve seen are coming from these people lol. Fortunately I’ve also seen a few comments from people who genuinely wonder what the movie would have been like if they went with Starboy without making tragedies, as well as people making fanarts out of creativity and not hate for the actual movie (which is not deserved come on. You can dislike it ofc but it’s not some immoral monster like some people paint it).
So that said, I’m glad people are having fun exploring concepts and making fanarts, I’m all for it! Long post but I took an opportunity to express all my thoughts on the topic lol

RotG (Rise of the Guardians) Fanfic Idea:
We keep on to RotG (Rise of the Guardians) with Jack Frost (mostly the movie world, not the books, as they are less known from what I know). This story idea is actually meant to be a short one-shot, the third of a whole collection of one-shots I called “The cruel thing about believing” (“Lo Cruel de Creer” in Spanish). The collection is supposed to be about adventure stories or experiences that somehow always relate Jack and the rest of the Guardians to the 300 years Jack spent in solitude.
There are a number of facts I have written elsewhere, and that in theory would apply to the entire collection (so you can know what bases to work with and which facts to implement or explain in the corresponding one-shot). And if anyone is interested, they can ask me (or not) to share that list with them as well. With all that in mind, here is the third story (idea):
❄️ When you face the light:
A mission to stop an evil spirit ends badly, because Jack, who knows better than the Guardians how these specific spirits work, separates himself from the group in order to set a trap. Bunny finds him later, while Jack is fighting, and starts to complain to Jack for separating himself. Their discord causes the spirit to escape. The others find him later and scold both of them: North makes a comment to Jack about thinking that Jack had learned since last time, and that they, the Guardians, were supposed to work as a team (i.e., referring to the last time they know of that Jack went off on his own, before Easter. The Egg Massacre event). After the others leave (heading to the Pole, so they can talk about how to chase the spirit now), Jack, instead of leaving with them immediately, stays in the moonlight, feeling judged. He then escapes into the Arctic and makes a dome of thick, dirty ice that blocks out the light, leaving him in darkness.
It includes a series of thoughts about his loneliness. Despite not having wanted loneliness for so long, he is used to being alone and working alone.
When he manages to calm down, Jack looks at the ice and remembers his confrontation and his conversation with Pitch, about how darkness (nightmares) and cold work well together.
“They often say that darkness is bad, but for Jack, darkness was the only comfort when he felt judged by the light.”
---------------------------------------------------------------
And that's all the ideas I have for this collection! After this I have ideas for other Jack Frost stories, but they are not necessarily part of the plan for this one-shot collection.

stop i never realized your love for gojo makes so much sense with the context of knowing you love mammon. i followed you from your old account, i joined initially for mammon but i am so glad you love jjk too. like even putting the blue eyes and white hair aside… they both have that same clingy energy. they’re objectively powerful but simultaneously powerless the moment you stop paying attention to them. i do think gojo is smarter than mammon but not necessarily because mammon is dumb, but because gojo’s kind of a little nerd boy teehee. even then, they both are way more intelligent than what they portray. like they put up a front but mammon pretends he’s a scary demon who hates everyone and gojo pretends he’s just a friendly little guy. which are both technically true but we also know they’re way more complex than they want us to think. which is sad cause i guess both of these stem from their insecurities and inability to be vulnerable so it, intentionally or not, makes them way lonelier. lonelier in the sense that they don’t allow anyone to know them—to truly know them. luckily for mammon he’s in a game where the entire purpose is to create a bond with him and help him… which leads to him witnessing the person he learns to love dying by the hands of one of his brother’s… okay so maybe he’s not luckier. omg you know, attic belphie and geto might have something in common lmao. that is besides the point, and now that i think about it, i’m not quite sure what my point was. gojo and mammon both are little goofy guys with very similar trauma responses and they both just cannot catch a break jesus christ
nonnie 🥹🥹🥹
hi, i’m so glad you’re still here. <33333
i agree that there’s definitely a pattern to why i like them both so much (apart from the white hair… i’ll let you know i was obsessed with jack frost when i was 12)
first of all i like my men a little dumb. not stupid but like… heart-eyed puppy men who only have eyes for you. box checked. ✅ (although mammon definitely gives more jock than satoru, but they’re both smart in their respective fields when they want to be)
but aaah. they’re both just so tragic and sad and lonely and i want to kiss their face and hug them and compliment them till their ears fall off.
also the new question thingy with gege about satoru. 🥹🥹🥹 fuck that, i’m gonna give him a happy ending in my fic. (well, i did not… but i will next time!)
but yes. they’re so alike. and i need to kiss them both on the nose. at least fifty times each. i’ll kiss you too, nonnie. on the nose. 150 fifty kisses for you three.

Scott Calvin, Santafication, and why Jack was able to take the coat but Simon wasn’t
This is hc based on my own created lore to help explain some of the many plot holes Disney has punched into tsc
Other hc/lore linked on my pinned masterpost!
SO. To start off, lemme explain Aelfs. The Panes (Olde Aelfs) are a near-immortal race of elves that are a different species from Common Elves (the elves that build toys in the North Pole). They typically grow as tall as humans and have similar builds to humans. They are all marked by three distinct features: high magical ability greater than any other magical creature (besides legendary figures), pointed ears, and albinism. A unique magical ability they possess is to pool their consciousnesses into a collective, what they call the ‘celestial plane’. In modern times, most have already chosen to leave the mortal plane altogether and ascend to the celestial plane where they are all connected in a great collective. The last remaining Aelfs on the mortal plane at the start of The Santa Clause were the Santa before Scott, and Jack Frost.
Saint Nicolas, a jolly, fat Aelf who had an affinity for humans, was the first Santa. He loved human children especially and saw the potential power in the belief of human children, whose magic went untapped until they grew into adults and lost their magic altogether. He convinced Common Elves to help him create toys to stimulate the creativity and magic of human children so that he and the other elves could collect that magic for themselves. While this was initially how he got the Common Elves to help him, they eventually grew to love human children and continued the mission purely out of good will and love just as Saint Nicolas did.
Saint Nicolas longed to be joined with others of his kind in a collective but did not want to abandon his mission or risk passing it to someone who wouldn’t treat it with the same care as he would. He decided to pass on his mission to another Aelf and join a celestial collective, but not on the celestial plane with all the other Panes. He made his own separate Santa plane that hovers between the celestial plane and the mortal plane and tied it to the Aelf who he decided to become the next Santa. That Aelf then took on the features of Saint Nicolas (long beard, fat, jolly disposition) in a process called Santafication because his physical body was still in the mortal plane, but his spirit was tied to Saint Nicolas in the Santa plane. Each subsequent Santa would then join him in the Santa plane and pass the mantle onto a new Aelf.
The Santa before Scott Calvin, an Aelf named Kallon, was the last Aelf on the mortal plane besides Jack Frost. Saint Nicolas could not abide having Jack take on the mantle of Santa, not because he isn’t suited necessarily, but because he already has a job and isn’t truly an Aelf anyways. Jack was a creation by Mother Nature who admired the Panes and wanted to use their species as a blueprint to create her own legendary figure. So while Jack is biologically an Aelf, he wasn’t born of one and didn’t grow up in their culture. Also, because of his legendary status Jack would never be able to join a collective and leave the mortal plane. Saint Nicolas saw this as dangerous, as one individual being Santa forever and never passing it on could lead to corruption.
It was decided then that the title of Santa should go to another creature. After much debate, the Santa collective agreed on Scott Calvin as their heir. Scott, like the Santas before him, then took on some features of Saint Nicolas, but he also took on some general Aelf features as well (albinism and magic prowess) although he kept his round human ears.
Jack, bitter about not being chosen to be the next Santa, believed that a human shouldn’t take the mantle of Santa and it should stay within the species. While he already didn’t like humans in general, he grew to resent Scott especially. The coat, how Saint Nicolas’ spirit is officially passed on, allowed Jack to become Santa in The Santa Clause 3 however, because it recognized his Aelf magic and clung to it, assuming him to be heir even though he was not chosen by Saint Nicolas. This has technically happened before when a rogue Aelf named Teeku took the coat forcefully from a Santa, brutally killed him, and then became Mad Santa.
A good spirited Aelf named Lufodo was approached by Bernard (who was guided by Saint Nicolas) and asked to help defeat Mad Santa and take the coat back so Christmas spirit could thrive again. After a bloody war, Lufodo killed Teeku and became the next Santa, restoring the spirit of Christmas as Saint Nicolas intended.
Because Simon Choksi is human, it didn't matter that he was just as unsuited to the role of Santa as Jack was. He was human so the coat was never going to submit to him without Saint Nicolas specifically telling it to. The coat submits to Scott only because he has the blessing of Saint Nicholas.
Scott never goes through desantafication with the Mrs Clause or after retirement. He will always be touched by the spirit of St Nicholas and so will always have albinism, be fat, and have a jolly disposition.

Faces Of The Tarot
(Just a fun lil exercise)
So one way I often suggest for others to get a better idea of the tarot cards is to engage with Characters and Stories they are familiar with to connect with themes of the cards. I thought I'd do a few examples and maybe do a miniseries going through the Major Arcana?
I've been doing it through Pinterest - using images rather than putting things into words, but I think putting it into words will be helpful for me to clarify my ideas and maybe inspire some of you!
Let's start with....
The Fool (Of Course!)
In the lineup for characters I associate with The Fool I have:
Aang, Ty Lee & Bumi - Avatar: The Last Airbender
Bumi - Avatar: The Legend of Korra
Jack Frost - Rise of the Guardians
Rapunzel - Tangled
Jester & Mollymauk - Critical Role Campaign 2
Fearne - Critical Role Campaign 3
Po - Kung Fu Panda
Jayce & Viktor - Arcane
Luffy - One Piece
Ariel - The Little Mermaid
Jake Peralta - Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Phoebe Buffay - Friends
Merrill - Dragon Age 2
Overall these characters have a sense of youthfulness, enthusiasm and wonder in how they engage with the world. I intentionally included both Bumis from Avatar as an example of how "youthfulness" doesn't necessarily mean in age. It's more like a mindset of curiosity and openness, emphasizing having fun and being playful. It's approaching things with good faith, a certain innocence, and asking questions.
There's a sense of childish mischief in some, like the characters from Critical Role, Aang, Jack Frost, Luffy and Jake. They want to have fun! But there's an element of recklessness too, of chaos when the fun gets a little out of hand, of shirking responsibilities, of not recognizing the dangers of your actions, or of a lack of consideration for the consequences.
This is also reflected in those such as Jayce, Viktor, Merrill and Ariel where it's not a sense of fun and mischief that can land them in a tough spot; It's their focused but idealistic pursuit of a goal. They have good intentions - typically not understood well by others - but their complete faith and focus comes with a certain danger. They walk the edge of a cliff, and though there may be a guiding force trying to keep them safe (like the dog in the RWS imagery), they may not heed it - for these characters, it is due to their faith in their pursuit.

Jack o' Frost Ep 1 Stray Thoughts
I hope this doesn't spell the end of MBS contributing to BL on Fridays since this show is only 6 episodes. Still, we head into a trope I don't always enjoy: amnesia.
Oof, starting at a breakup. Okay, drama.
Oh no: another Ritsu. I can't take anymore right now.
Incredible how much costuming, hair, makeup, expression, and posture can change how someone looks. I would have necessarily clocked Fumiya as Katori from Takara and Amagi.
We're already running.
There is a gray pallor covering this show.
I wonder if any of this is scary for Ritsu, seeing as he doesn't remember anything yet. It's also going to be tough on Fumiya, because he's caring for someone he had been falling out of love with.
"And they were roommates."
He needs to explain what happened to Ritsu, because he was very confused about the bed. I don't think Fumiya realizes yet how little Ritsu recalls.
I think I struggle with amnesia plots because it feels like a perversion of second chance romance, which I love dearly. The amnesiac isn't behaving like they were before the event, and are we rooting for them to remember or not?
I like that Ritsu is an artist. Using his innate talent gives me hope about where this goes.
Suzuki Kosuke's face journey when he realized Ritsu didn't remember him was appropriately complicated.
I'll admit the show has piqued my interest, but I remain cautious.

Halloween Eve
I haven't posted much about my excitement over Halloween. I figured everyone is sick of hearing me talk about it. But never, ever doubt that I'm counting the hours until the streets are filled with happy children, generous adults, and the pure magic that is All Hallow's Eve.
Our holiday here in Maryland looks different than it did in Tennessee. There, I'd decorate the yard and porch and my sweet friend Vicky would come over. We'd spend the evening laughing and handing out candy to kids. We did that together for twenty years. Here in Maryland the mister and I get to walk around the grandgirl's neighborhood with her, and let me tell you, it is fun. Her neighborhood does Halloween right, it reminds me of the Halloweens of my childhood. Hordes of children running house to house in costume, laughing, screaming from minor scares, and having the best time. Adults walk along behind, talking, laughing, and enjoying the fun. It's safe, it's wholesome, and it's absolutely delightful. I'm really excited about our Halloween! We've been watching Halloween shows together, so sharing the big night together is only right. She really enjoyed the dipped strawberry ghosties I made the last weekend.
Tumblr media
Two things will make this Halloween fabulous - it's supposed to be chilly and we get to bring the grandgirl home with us. She's got no school on November 1st (smart school) and what better place to spend a free day than at Grancy's house? Autumn is really showing off around here and I couldn't love it more. No matter which window I pass in this house, I get a beautiful view of jewel tones.
Our bedroom...
Tumblr media
the kitchen...
Tumblr media
the grandgirl's room...
Tumblr media
my craft room...
Tumblr media
isn't it wonderful?
Of course, I brought in plenty of pumpkins and mums. They are CHEAP up here!
Tumblr media
Geez, of course I left a milk jug on the porch when I snapped that photo. I'd just watered the mums, got distracted, and now it's part of history. This one is messy too - the shadow of my big head, leaves everywhere before they were raked up. I don't care, it just screams FALL!
Tumblr media
Those big pots of mums? Most of them were four dollars. Some of them were just two dollars! There's a guy just down the road who grows them for commercial sales but he also lets locals purchase from him. Last Saturday he marked all of the four dollar mums down to two dollars so I went back for more!
These six pots were just $12 total! Those pink Sheffield mums will be planted in the front garden. They're gorgeous.

I replaced the summer impatiens with mums and now Sassafras Woods is dressed for the season.

Everywhere I go around town is a feast for the eyes.

Turning onto our little street is a treat, too.

And when I pull into our driveway, get out of the car, and look up...it's dazzling!

I just can't get enough. I believe Lucy Maud Montgomery gave Anne of Green Gables the best words for it.

The only thought that makes it possible to loosen my grip on October and autumn is the promise of a cold, snowy winter. Maryland doesn't necessarily promise that, but the Farmers' Almanac is giving me hope. Autumn is still my first love, but a frosty winter is some comfort while I mourn the end of all of this glorious color. Come on, Jack Frost, glitter my world!
But I'm getting ahead of myself, I can't worry about the winter forecast when my high holiday is just hours away. I can't wait to frolic with the kids and listen to their shouts of glee while they enjoy their big night. I'll wear my witch hat, a big fake witchy nose, and this sweatshirt.

Would you believe that I have a job interview in the morning? Yep, when I received the email inviting me for an in-person interview I was given a choice of two days and Halloween felt lucky. It may be hard for me to contain my excitement
Tumblr media
Again, they should probably know who they're dealing with up front. I mean, I won't wear my witch hat or anything...yet. That's what's happening around the Pullen Patch right now. I'm trying to act normal while Halloween is just hours away, I get to spend it with my favorite little witch, and I'm trying to hold on to every last bit of the gorgeous color and fluttering leaves. I have nothing against November, but let's all admit that it represents the end of autumn and the start of a lot of work for women. I'm already tired from cooking Thanksgiving dinner and decorating the Christmas tree and I haven't started yet. The scariest thing you'll hear on Halloween is that Christmas is just 55 days away.
Tumblr media
I've purchased four small gifts so far. I am way behind. Way behind. This may be the year everyone gets socks. Who doesn't like a nice, soft pair of socks? Gahhh, I'm old. Anyway, I hope that wherever you are you are cooking up some Halloween fun. If answering the door every five minutes and passing out candy isn't your style, I highly recommend popping popcorn and watching a favorite scary movie. Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp is one of my favorites. I also find joy in some of the good ol' Disney favorites like Halloweentown or The Worst Witch. Not scary, just fun. Whatever you're doing when the veil thins on Halloween night, I hope it makes your heart sing.
Sending out so much love on this beautiful fall evening. Stay safe, stay well, and have FUN! XOXO, Nancy

Alternative to last one
Ficlet prompt:
Shut Up and Dance by WALK THE MOON
(Cheesy I know but it’s what I’ve got for you)
Okay so it’s not necessarily “shut up and dance with me” but she does say “dance with me” so it’s basically the same thing right
-
Kelly’s house party invitations had promised a lot. And, in fairness to her, she’d delivered on most of it; her parents were well-off, so it wasn’t really a surprise that she’d arranged the pool, DJ, and catering; even the LED lights she’d added to the rooms weren’t all that unexpected. What wasn’t expected was the complete and utter lack booze, a fact that Janet was regrettably aware of, trapped in conversation with someone who cared far too much.
“I didn’t come here to be sober,” the person grumbled, not seeming very sober to Janet. They probably pre-gamed the party, which, actually, makes sense, because Janet wasn’t sure she’d ever met this guy in her life.
‘I’ve never seen you before in my life,’ she was tempted to say, but decided against it. Instead, she just hummed, and looked around for her salvation.
There - Helena was in the crowd, her and Lorna, and given that the dude didn’t seem to be thinking all that clearly anyway, Janet managed to slip away unnoticed, and he continued ranting at the wall.
Helena saw her almost instantly, eyes lighting up. At least, Janet thought they did, but it was difficult to tell with how the lights caught on the lenses of her glasses. “Hey! Janet!”
“Hey, Hel,” Janet said, smiling. Lorna waved at her, only to be tapped on the shoulder by Malcolm, and brought onto the dance floor. Janet couldn’t be sure if she saw her wave in return. “Have you seen Jack?”
“No,” Helena replied, craning her neck over the crowd. Her glittery nails kept drawing Janet’s attention back to her hands, where she held a glass of… apple juice? Cranberry juice? It was difficult to tell under the changing lights. “I mean, he’s pretty tall, shouldn’t be that hard to find him.”
“Yeah,” Janet agreed, also craning her neck, but she didn’t see anything Helena couldn’t. “He might be outside? I think there’s supposed to be a barbecue.”
“Wait, seriously? I want barbecue,” Helena said. She grabbed Janet’s hand and they made their way through the crowd. Janet’s cream skirt suddenly felt far less practical once they were outside, with winter well under way. No snow, yet, but honestly, she would have been fine for snow; frost and chilliness was far worse.
Jack was, indeed, beside the barbecue, and Janet skipped over to him. “Jack!”
He looked up at her, face splitting into a smile. He held up his phone. “Janny! I was just about to text you,” he said, kissing her cheek. “I brought you some chocolates. They’re in my bag, I left it in the front hall.” Janet kissed his nose.
“I love you,” she said. “We should go back inside. There’s a dance floor. And it lights up.”
“‘Course it does,” Jack said, smiling against her lips. He linked his hand with hers, the other dropped to her waist, and he swayed in a slow circle with her. “Will you offer me this dance?”
“Shut up and dance with me,” Janet giggled, slipping out from his grip to drag him inside. Helena gave her an amused thumbs up from where she stood at the barbecue as Janet took Jack to the dance floor.

can you imagine J from murder drones playing as e aster bunnymund from rise of the guardians shouting "we should never have trusted you!" to uzi playing as jack frost?
I don't think J would necessarily ever trust Uzi and vice versa, but I can definitely picture her saying that.

Name: Jasmine Angelina Frost
Nickname(s): Jaz, Angel, Minnie
Main Ability: Freezing Kiss- The user's kiss can be used to freeze another being, creature, or possibly object via kiss. This kiss could cause them to freeze to death, be frozen solid, suffer frostbite or possibly turn to ice. This power is often deadly and is usually always active. (Source: Superpower wiki)
Personality: As mentioned in his bio, her favorite brother Jeremy may seem like the odd one out at times but Jasmine is the true black sheep of the Frost family. From a young age she found herself connecting to her parents' victims in a way that no one else in the family had. Their pleas for mercy and appeals to emotion with descriptions of their loved ones did not fall on deaf ears. It wasn't that she necessarily understood why what they were doing was wrong at that age but she knew what pain was and that nobody deserved to go through it. Hearing it and the way they would talk about these poor people while it was happening, before, after, it made her stomach hurt. She decided one day that she was never going to hurt a soul and has been an outcast every day since. This lifestyle choice was made around the same time that she was discovering her gender identity so for some time most of the animosity between her and her father wasn't focused on her lack of bloodthirst. It did come in to things, one of Jack's many weak coping theories was that she only "wanted to be a girl" to take the weight of the expectations the boys had off of her shoulders. Eventually, she was able to get him to understand things from her perspective. Which gifted her a new problem. Before her siblings would be dismissive of any small attempts to get them to see their wrongdoing now Jack does it too. Instead of lashing out at her judgment he condescendingly pretends to listen as he would with any of his daughters shallow sensitivities. Cooing and headpats have gotten very old. The softness between her and her father, especially during the time he was coming to understand her, has left a positive connection that she just can't shake even in the face of his coddling. This is not the same case with her mother. Suzy arguably cares less about her kids being killers than Jack but considering her agreement with everything he says combined with her lack of emotional warmth, to Jasmine, it seems the exact opposite. She enjoys her own company more than anyone else's but this isn't entirely the reason Jasmine chooses to do things like eat her dinner alone in her room. When her mother attempts to show affection by sending down an extra helping of meat Jasmine sees it as vindictive. As though Suzy is trying to rub salt in Jasmine's wounds, very aware of the fact she can never fully escape anthropophagy. Despite being one of the more moral members of the family Jasmine tends to see most things through a cynical and avoidant lens. In the current stage of her life she'd, understandably, rather talk than actively make an attempt to save any of these human lives. So she can come off as a bit of a bitch. To cope with her situation as a child Jasmine often found herself getting into places around the house that people often didn't go to, where she'd stumble upon her brother Jeremy who was usually doing the same thing. For many years she was like his little shadow, enjoying the company of the one person who wasn't indescribably evil in her eyes. Even when she got older and threw herself into her work he was always able to help her loosen up and have a little fun. She’s fascinated by the occult subjects that Jeremy introduced her to but not because of any promises of further power, instead because of the further depth it gives humans and the world around them. They look for meaning, they hope, they feel. Especially on the topic of herbology, they have intimate relationships with plants and see the personality in each of them, just like she does. She trusts that there's a world somewhere out there where everyone cares for each other, weaknesses are healed. Understood. A world she does make some attempt to create at home, using her plants to try and teach her younger siblings some compassion. More often than not though, this fails, convincing her further that she’s almost entirely alone. At least she’s got Jeremy, whenever she fails he's right there to comfort her. He doesn't exactly agree with her but she can’t be the only good thing to come out of this house.
Trivia
Whittles her coals by hand to shape her eyelashes.
Doesn't enjoy putting her hair up and only does it because her mother insists so she doesn't get it dirty. There are still often leaves in there.
She spends a lot of time with the younger kids to try and instill compassion in them but she doesn't actually enjoy interacting with kids. The non controlled mess stresses her out.
Despite her family's relationship with the hellish plane she's still somewhat what some may call spiritual.
She has a collection of crystals she finds helpful for different emotional ailments.
She also is Jeremy's partner when he does tarot readings. Jasmine is the more empathetic and understanding side to Jeremy's horrible "tough love" advice.
