The PC approaches the bailiff.

Bailiff: Can you believe it? Thom Rainier himself. Bailiff: Something you want?

1 - Dialogue options:

Investigate: What do you know of Rainier? [2]

Investigate: Where’s this… Rainier? [3]

2 - Investigate: What do you know of Rainier? PC: You must know something about Rainier? Bailiff: I know what everyone knows: he’ll hang for the massacre of a noble and his family. [back to 1]

3 - Investigate: Where’s this… Rainier? PC: Where did they take the prisoner? Bailiff: In the jail off the marketplace. If you’ve goodbyes to say, say them now. It’s a damned mess, but believe you me, it’ll be sorted out quick. Lots of people can’t wait to see that man swing. [back to 1]

4 - [Leave.] Bailiff: Guess not.

As the PC leaves: Bailiff: Goodbye, then.

The PC enters the jail and approaches Blackwall’s cell. Blackwall kneels dejectedly on the floor.

Blackwall: I didn’t take Blackwall’s life. I traded his death. He wanted me for the Wardens, but there was an ambush. Darkspawn. He was killed. I took his name to stop the world from losing a good man. But a good man, the man he was, wouldn’t have let another die in his place.

The PC walks up to the bars.

Dialogue options:

Sad: Did you have to lie? [5]

Stoic: You had to know I’d find you. [6]

Confused: Was it true what they said? [7]

Pleased: Confessing was brave. [8]

Angry: You disgust me. [9]

5 - Sad: Did you have to lie? PC: Why did you lie to me? Blackwall: I never meant to lie to you, and when I did, I couldn’t take it back. You weren’t supposed to find me. You were just supposed to think I was gone.

6 - Stoic: You had to know I’d find you. PC: So you thought you would just die and disappear, that I wouldn’t find you.

7 - Confused: Was it true what they said? PC: Did you really do those things? I don’t want to believe you’re a murderer. Blackwall: Believe it. It’s all true. Take a good look at who I really am. I lied to you. That’s all there is to say. You weren’t supposed to find me. You were just supposed to think I was gone.

8 - Pleased: Confessing was brave. PC: That was a brave thing you did, confessing. Blackwall: You don’t understand how terrible my crime was. Turning myself in was not brave. It was necessary, and it doesn’t make up for the pain I caused. You weren’t supposed to find me. You were just supposed to think I was gone.

9 - Angry: You disgust me. PC: I can’t stand to look at you. Blackwall: I don’t blame you. You weren’t supposed to find me. You were just supposed to think I was gone.

10 - Scene continues.

Blackwall: I didn’t want you to see me like this.

Dialogue options:

General: As you really are? PC: You mean you didn’t want me to know you. The real you. ㅤㅤ ㅤ

General: That’s not better. PC: You wanted me to think you left me? That you were dead or worse? You’d break my heart and call it better? ㅤㅤ ㅤ

General: Well, I’ve seen you. PC: I’m here now. Deal with me.

Blackwall stands and grabs the bars, rattling them.

Blackwall: Don’t you understand? I gave the orders to kill Lord Callier, his entourage, and I lied to my men about what they were doing! When it came to light, I ran. Those men, my men, paid for my treason while I was pretending to be a better man!

The PC backs away.

Blackwall: This is what I am! A murderer, a traitor… a monster.

Blackwall sinks to the ground.

Blackwall: Wouldn’t you be happier thinking I was a noble man, a Grey Warden, instead of this? I would’ve saved you the pain of learning that all you knew about me was a lie. That you loved a lie.

Dialogue options:

General: A lie can become truth. PC: There was truth to what we had, and there is good in you. I have to believe that. ㅤㅤ ㅤ

General: I never have luck with men. PC: Maker, I sure do know how to pick them. ㅤㅤ ㅤ

General: I didn’t love you. PC: I never loved you.

okay, so i finished my first playthrough of baldur's gate 3 last night!! and then i played the ending cutscenes and the epilogue twice so i could collect my thoughts and reactions and figure out how to write them all out. god, i love this game. for a while i almost didn't want it to end because i loved it so much but i think now that i've finished it i'll only become more attached to the silly little half-elf bard that i created to play this game with, and want to keep thinking about him and posting about him more--especially since i'm planning to eventually get a new graphics card and then i'll be able to make nice high quality screenshots and gifs of the game. i've already been planning out what my next tav will be like too, and thinking about doing so many more playthroughs of this game! i may have some criticisms here and there because bg3 is definitely flawed in some areas, but i mean, what isn't? it's a huge game, i had a lot of fun with it overall, and i'm so glad i finally decided to pick it up in march after months of seeing its characters flood my dash.

i kept hit the "4096 characters per block" limit while making this post btw 😭😭 but it seems i could get around that just by breaking up the bullet points a bit. i don't care if nobody but me is going to read my million words of rambling about how much i love these characters, i am not cutting anything out of my post.

so we have the big goodbye scene at the docks, starting with orpheus wanting you to mercy kill him and lae'zel to carry on his legacy and lead the rebellion. i wasn't sure what to have her do, so i initially picked the option for her to make her own choice because i wanted to see what would happen, and because it's what i've usually been choosing in these situations. she decided to do as orpheus asked and the dialogue she had about it was beautiful, but honestly in this specific case i think persuading her to craft a new fate for herself in faerun is the most in-character thing for elenion to do. so i reloaded and did that. and i think it definitely was the right choice for this playthrough, because what she said about her destiny not being for orpheus or vlaakith or decide, and how it was on faerun that she learned to be free, is pretty much the exact reasoning i had in mind! and the epilogue party, with the hopeful letter from voss mentioning an alliance with the githzerai and the dialogue from lae'zel about fighting vlaakith's army, also ended up confirming for me that her staying in faerun doesn't mean the githyanki are doomed or that she won't still find ways to fight for her people.

the way she's all like "go mingle! that's the word, right?" and "this is... nice. yes, i think that's the right word for it" at the party is so funny and cute. she's trying her best!! i adore lae'zel and i will never understand why she seems to be so much less popular than most of the other companions.

after lae'zel's scene we have a very short scene with gale talking about the crown of karsus. i chose to have him give it back to mystra. i'm going to come back around to gale later and talk about astarion now though! his ending scene makes me so sad to think about, like, everyone is talking about celebrating and then he's just suddenly on fire, nobody really shows any concern outside of one of the companions saying a single line about how he won't get to see the sun anymore, and then that's the last anyone sees of him before the epilogue party?? the tone of the scene feels like it's supposed to be funny but like i said, it just makes me sad :( the epilogue makes things a lot better, though--you get to actually talk to him about and he's surprisingly earnest and apologetic, and seems so much happier and more at peace now. he also continues to be hilarious. the second time i did the epilogue party i chose the "i've been boring--living a quiet, peaceful life" dialogue option and he's like "and fate let you get away with that? i'm impressed!" anyway, though, i love his growth and i'm so proud of him.

next up, wyll and karlach--i totally get why so many people ship them now because wyll is the one to call out to her and bring up the idea of them going to avernus together, and then at the party she says having him there has been incredible and that you can get through anything with someone you love at your side?? i mean, karlach is very freely affectionate with her friends--she tells a non-romanced tav she loves them after fighting gortash, and if you tell her as she's dying that she was spectacular in every way she'll say she adores you. so no, her saying she loves wyll doesn't have to imply anything romantic, but it is just adorable anyway.

the scene with them in avernus feels so weird though... i mean, karlach's part in it is badass, the problem is wyll just standing there being silent the whole time. i know that if you romance karlach your tav can go with her to avernus instead, and it feels really obvious that the scene must've been made with only that scenario in mind when wyll's version of it could've been unique to him and had actual dialogue between him and karlach!! honestly, it just feeds even more into the feeling of wyll's personal quest never being about him. it also makes me even more curious what the ending is like with him becoming grand duke... i mean, does he end up becoming a slimy politician who's corrupted by power? if so, then why did the story itself not do more (or anything, really) to hint that that would happen to him and give him more of a power hungry side and if not, then why do the dialogue options for convincing him to become the duke both talk about power and make it seem super obvious that that's the Bad Ending™?

oh well, i guess i can't say i'm not happy that there's a way to give karlach a more hopeful ending! i understand the appeal of a good tragedy, and i understand that karlach herself would rather die than be unable to live freely, so maybe you could say that letting her make the choice to die rather than return to avernus is the option that gives her the most agency... but at the same time, the song that plays over her ending scene is "i want to live". she says she wants to live, to be free and be happy with her friends by her side, but it just seems so hopeless. if one of her friends is willing to brave avernus with her, to make sure that she won't be alone while helping her have a fighting chance of getting her life back, then i think she should be able to take that chance. i kind of wish it was possible to fix her engine and give her a fully happy ending as well--everyone but her pretty much has one, as even though astarion can't walk in the sun as a spawn he can still be free from cazador. and if the tragedy of karlach's death or the bittersweetness of her returning to avernus resonated more with someone, then they could still choose one of those endings. but i guess larian probably isn't going to add anything like that at this point :(

i also still just can't help but feel like wyll really deserved better treatment from the writing. well, at least his epilogue confirms that mizora isn't bothering him too much, and you get some incredibly sweet dialogue if you tell him you've missed traveling with him.

does... shadowheart not have any kind of ending scene at the docks?? like, she's obviously there, she can be randomly chosen out of the companions to make little comments on things, but i don't get a scene with her at all and i'm unsure if it's bugged or if the writers just left her out?? it feels weird. but i guess that's okay for now, because i absolutely adore the entire conversation i got to have with her at the party. i'm so glad she chose to save her parents in this playthrough--apparently, there are certain hidden requirements you have to meet or she'll agree to let them go, and i guess i came across everything by accident during the brief time that i took her around the city with me. anyway, elenion got snarky with her and pretended to forget her name and then she got snarky back and just automatically hugged him. adorable. the first time i played the epilogue i volunteered halsin to take the owlbear because i hadn't talked to shadowheart yet, but the second time i played i gave him to her because holy shit she's got as many animals in her house as fluttershy. love that for her. and the way she rambles on about her parents, her mother's recipes and her father's terrible jokes, and then apologizes because she thinks it must be a boring topic?? excuse me, no, i am unironically extremely interested in this and i think elenion is too because he's also just been trying to live a normal boring life with his and gale's families for the last 6 months.

and now, back to gale. god he's so cute. the way he does this little bow to your tav during the ending and then they bow back. the silly indirect way he tries to propose by asking if you'll come back to waterdeep and become part of the dekarios clan. the way he says it would make tara and his mom happy if he got married and then goes "oh thank goodness!" when you say yes. the kneeling down and kissing your tav's hand after that. i had to try and get decent screenshots of that part because it was so cute:

i also tried both of the choices, between whether to move right in and settle down with him or continue traveling together, because i was initially indecisive about what would be the best/most fitting choice for my tav's character. in the travel ending, i love how gale says that even while adventuring, he's never been so relaxed and now he spends his free time writing, painting, and knitting. i also had this extremely cute dialogue at the party and now i'm wondering what the variations for each class are:

but, ultimately, after trying both and having both versions of the epilogue convo, i decided that just moving to waterdeep and living a calm life is what felt most right. i figure that what elenion needs most in their life now is stability. also, gale becoming a professor is just perfect for him and is so cute. and so is this:

see, this is why gale with a bard tav is a perfect combination: they can collaborate on their writing! anyway i love gale so much but this post is so stupidly long at this point and i need to try and wrap it up, so uhhh, what else...

tara is so cute and funny at the party, grumbling about being jealous of gale's relationship with your tav if you romanced him and then complaining that he keeps his potions in such disarray that it seems like he was raised in a barn. i also overheard her calling everyone ugly while i had speak with animals up AKJAFGHSKFG. at least half the reason why i want to do a gale origin playthrough is because i need to see more of tara.

volo claims his invitation got lost in the post. i really, really think he just was not supposed to be invited, and yet here he is! one of the first things he tells elenion is that he's gotten good at forging their signature, and then he says their success has been wonderful for his reputation. they just might be considering hiring astarion to kill him.

i did not even know jaheira had kids. i looked it up and apparently you can find her house and meet her family in the city but i just completely fucking missed that. something to keep in mind for my next playthrough!

i love that there's a whole box full of letters from people you helped throughout your journey. honestly, i wish there were a few more, specifically from characters like rolan or his siblings, isobel and aylin, omeluum and blurg, and more from the tiefling refugees in general because i love them. but the ones from alfira and dammon are so so cute. also, i got a letter from shadowheart's friend nocturne, which made me realize... i never met her and i never got the memory related to her either because i didn't know you could give shadowheart the noblestalk LMAO oops. i missed quite a few details, huh!

...and i guess that's where i'll end this post. i've been playing this game since march and i've only just finished my first playthrough, though granted there were like 3-4 whole weeks in there where waiting for a new hard drive + feeling weird from irl stuff meant i didn't really play at all. still, though, i can't wait to start back over in act 1 again! especially since, tbh, i think act 1 just might've been my favorite. i love act 2 for ketheric and isobel and aylin and a lot of other things, and act 3 honestly felt a bit messy and overwhelming but still had a lot of great moments. but there's just something i love about beginnings, and the atmosphere during act 1. so, yeah, can't wait to experience it again as a whole new character.

So I watched Emesis Blue for the first time today and I wrote my reaction

Here's my reaction

Note: SPOILERS (Obviously), Swearing and mild Simping, Also this is a long post since I had a lot to write

Also the film itself has a lot of blood and gore, as well as flashing lights. Please take this into consideration if you plan on watching it.

Love the colors and the use of sound

Having soft and pleasant music for it's most fucked up scenes is an amazing choice

Soldier is still a dumbass but I'm perfectly fine with it

I really like the voice acting, even if you can tell that they are impersonations

PE AU: Scene 9-17

Scene 9:

Chad: “Those kids are trouble.”

In the distance, they see Evie and Mal.

Evie: “Bye, Mal.”

Mal: “Bye.”

Ben shifts uncomfortably. All they’re doing is waving goodbye to each other; they can’t have that?

Ben: “Come on, Chad. Give them a chance.” He’s almost pleading.

Audrey: “Oh. No offense, Bennybear, but you’re just too trusting.” His eyebrows furrow as his frown deepens, not looking at either of them. “Look, I know your mom fell in love with a big, nasty beast–” she doesn’t notice him getting further bothered by her description of his dad– “who turned out to be a prince. But with my mom, the evil fairy was just the evil fairy. That girl’s mother.”

Ben knows how they were raised, but he also knows they shouldn’t have been left on The Isle to be raised that way to begin with. And it’s not fair to push them out now by treating them like they’re horrible until they lash out.

Ben: “I think you’re wrong about them. I’ll see you later.”

He hurries away before they can stop him, but now he’s also worried people have been pushing them around and decides to see how they’re doing.

Ben: “Hey!”

Mal: “Hey.”

Ben: “How was your first day?”

Mal: “Super.”

That’s a relief for him, but that takes his mind off his worries enough to notice the blatant vandalism.

Ben: “You should really think about taking this talent off the locker and into art class. I could, uh, sign you up. What do you think?”

Mal: “Way to take all the fun out of it.”

Ben: “Huh.” He realizes, though they may not be dangerous, that doesn’t mean they’ll exactly get along. His plan’s going to be a lot more complicated than he imagined…

[He doesn’t lean against the lockers like a Cool Kid™ because he would’ve been taught it’s impolite and bad manners to lean against strangers’ lockers.]

Scene 10 (Mal talks to Jane in the bathroom) is all the same.

Scene 11:

Evie: “Any chance he’s in line for a throne? Anywhere in line?”

Doug raises an eyebrow, then realizes what she means and looks dejected. Until he looks to see who she’s talking about and immediately gets annoyed.

Doug: “Chad. Prince Charming Jr., Cinderella’s son. Chad inherited the charm, but not a lot of there there. Know what I mean?”

Evie: “Looks like there there to me.”

He gives her a look of pity before shaking his head and going back to his notes.

Mr. Deley: “Evie.” He startles her and Doug, and the rest of the scene plays out the same. Except, when Chad notices Evie and they swoon over each other, Doug just disgustedly rolls his eyes.

[The dialogue is the same, but the reactions are slightly different. Why will be further explained after the next scene.]

Scene 12 (Carlos meets Dude) is all the same.

Scene 13:

Chad meets Evie behind the bleachers and gets her to do his homework. Doug watches him leave with a glare before his attention goes to Evie.

Doug: “I couldn’t help but overhear—”

Evie: “Are you stalking me?”

Doug: “Technically, yes. I… Chad is… not the most trustworthy… So, if you have questions about Fairy Godmother’s wand, I can answer them. The answer to your first question being: yes, they always leave it at the museum. … Oh! Except for during Ben’s coronation.”

Evie: “Are you saying they use it in the coronation?”

Doug: “Yes—”

Evie: “Can we– me and my friends– go?”

Doug: “Yes. I think. Anyway, no need to hang out with Chad anymore, right?”

But she didn’t hear his question, already running off to he has no idea where.

[Doug had (past tense) a crush on Evie, but liking Chad is a red flag to him. So– though he doesn’t dislike her now, nor does he want Chad to take advantage of her– he (currently) no longer has romantic feelings for her.]

Scene 14 (Lonnie asks Mal to do her hair like Jane’s) and 15 (Jay learns about teamwork) are all the same.

Scene 16:

The VKs discuss what to do, Evie reveals the wand will be used at Ben’s coronation and everyone’s invited, then they hear a knock at the door and Mal goes to answer it.

Ben: “Hey, Mal. I didn’t see you guys today. I was just wondering if you had any questions or anything that you needed.” His smile and expression are noticeably stressed.

Mal: “Not that I know of.”

Ben: “Okay. Alright.” He has that same relief as before. “Well, uh, if you need anything, just, uh…” He cuts himself off when she starts closing the door. Taking the hint, he turns to walk away.

Mal: “Oh, wait!” She pulls it back open. “Um, is it true that we all get to go to your coronation?”

Ben: “Yeah, the whole school goes.”

Mal: “Wow, that is beyond exciting. Do you think that it’s a possibility that the four of us could stand in the front row next to the Fairy Godmother? Just so we could soak up all that goodness.

Ben: “I wish you could. Up front it’s just me, my folks,” his smile fades, “and my girlfriend.”

Mal: “And your girlfriend?”

Ben: “Yeah.” He shakes his head and focuses back on her. “I’m sorry.”

Mal: “Okay. Thanks, bye.”

Ben: “Oh, but, no, there’s plenty of—” He tries to offer another solution, but she closes the door on him.

Mal: “I think it’s time that ‘Bennyboo’ got himself a new girlfriend.” She smirks at Evie, who lights up with joy. “And I need a love spell,” she sighs, going back to flipping through her spellbook.

[Again, same dialogue, different reactions, but in reference to what I already said about Ben and Mal being platonic for now.

The change to the reactions with Mal’s last line isn’t wholly necessary, but I wanted to make it clear to the imaginary young audience that Mal is not the one intended to be Ben’s new girlfriend, and this is the most natural place to bring it up.]

Scene 17 (the love cookie) is all the same.

[This is pretty long, but the part before the first Content Warning is relevant to the AU, and there's a summary at the end:

There’s a reason Mal says the love spell she chose, “gets the best ratings.” Partly because the only ways to break it are the antidote, death, and the target declaring that they don’t want the victim to be in love with them anymore (and maybe pre-established true love’s kiss). But also because the spell is as evil as the target (which is usually the person who used it on the victim).

Initially, the spell gives the victim a crush on the first person they see (heightens their positive feelings of them, and makes them appear prettier; not like a glamour, like how we’re inclined to see kind people as more attractive, but intensified). The spell is a bit extra potent the first day or so to “set the romance in motion” (hence Ben’s R-I-D-I-C-U-L-O-U-S song). They still have their mind, will, and desires intact and can communicate them, so the victim can refuse things if they want to. If the spell broke, their feelings may change, but they wouldn’t feel like they were out of control.

That, of course, is the stage Ben stays in. [Disclaimer: This isn’t to say that makes it “okay” for the VKs to use the love spell, I just didn’t want to traumatize Ben. This choice was for his sake, so he can sleep easy at night, not the other way around.]

But if the target pushes them to do what they want anyway and the victim starts to fall out of love with them because of it, the spell will make the victim ignore the target’s faults and believe they’re right. They would still have their mind and be able to have other relationships, but they wouldn’t have personal desires anymore. If the spell broke, they would remember everything, perhaps some of it in a haze, but they’d feel like they were acting under extreme duress.

Escalating past that stage depends on the person, as some people stay in a state just before the final stage where they’re not exactly a mindless slave, but they’re not themselves either. Breaking the spell then would leave all their memories in a haze, but they would remember all their hurt feelings by the target.

And, finally, if the target is downright cruel to them and makes themselves entirely unlovable, the spell will completely take over the victim’s mind. They’ll live to serve the target and think of nothing else. But this is also when the target begins experiencing drawbacks as, considering the victim is functionally no longer a person, they take all their commands literally. And as they can literally do nothing without them, they become obsessed with being around them and refuse to be away from them. If the spell breaks, they wouldn’t remember anything, but they would know they were under a love spell and who the target was.

Memories are affected by how long a person is in each stage. A victim may jump to the final stage if forced to fall in love with their worst enemy and have literally no memories of what happened. Another victim may have already had a crush on the target and it takes a while for them to realize how awful they are to reach stage 3, so they’ll remember stage 1 and parts of stage 2 with a new perspective.

A victim can return to previous stages if they’re able to forgive the target, but that doesn’t mean the relationship goes back to normal. The exception possibly being if a victim gets to stage 2 and the target later assures them they don’t have to do whatever they want, so they return to stage 1. (The exception is most likely in the case of a victim falling in love with a target who doesn’t know they’re under a spell.)

To summarize the effects on the victim:

Stage 1: lowered guard and would remember everything

Stage 2: low/no boundaries and would have a vague memory

Stage 3: complete loss of self and would have no memory]

Oh my god, kingdom time… So So Much to talk about, I think I would’ve had to split this into multiple posts even if it was just one episode, because it’s now clear that we’re going to end with yo tan wa’s return rather than the chu court drama, so every scene is being expanded a little to fit, which means so many new lines and sequences…!!!!! And, since we’ll be proceeding slightly out of order anyways b/c there’s one of those sequences that I have to quarantine in its own post, I want to start with The Woman Of All Time on the chu border ❤️❤️❤️❤️

(ka rin voice) the joker … there’s an extended bit here where we get to see bam yuu as he’s delivering the news to her and she kicks him in the face abt it :)❤️

I obviously already would’ve wanted to highlight this next line very badly since because it’s Fun and i’m in love with her abt it, but it seems like we’ve got some additional discussion to do regarding the fact the anime translators had a very different take on ‘mou bu no obocchan’ than the manga translators lol:

I think the anime team is probably right that she’s referring to mou bu, since he’s the one in the panel (also, I’d be willing to believe that she doesn’t know/care that he has a son), but the fact that the mou family’s young master Is Here on the field does muddy the waters.. Also, in my heart I want her to be talking about mou ten, sorry, I think he doesn’t get personally bullied anywhere near enough and she would be the perfect person to do it ❤️

thrilled to see him here with hon and roku omi, though, of course:

A couple of steps ahead of them in terms of figuring out the ai situation, too :) even when he’s barely even in the background of a campaign he’s still completely on top of things, that’s my boyyy

but unfortunately with that interlude aside we’re headed back to court for (lovingly) a very bad time for everyone involved. Here we actually get to see rou ai’s trial (following his capture, which I’ll discuss later lol) as a scene with dialogue, vs the narration sequence in the manga; so we get to see him accuse ryo fui of sending him to the queen mother, and to see him take full blame for the ai rebellion himself, which I really enjoyed.. several of the anime’s additions (incl. in the rout at kankoku) serve to really emphasize his devotion to her, which helps to underpin the subsequent scene, which in many ways is about her love for him just as much as her love for her children :(

The most interesting part of the entire trial, though, is actually kou’s speech; in the most basic sense it’s a fine character moment that demonstrates how much she cares for sei, but what’s really good is that it comes after sei’s made it clear that he intends to execute the other children…

That’s a look of genuine surprise and distress, and there’s no indication anywhere else that she’s one of the people who knows that he isn’t actually going to have his siblings killed… the fact that she’s visibly upset by what he plans to do but still not only supports him in it but goes on to chastise his mother for being too cruel to him in the same scene is actually so good. I don’t even think she’s in the wrong, the point she makes is genuinely touching and cuts to the core of what’s so broken abt their relationship and really makes you wish things could’ve been better for them (as does the scene in the tower, later…) I just think there’s an element of actually Blind devotion here that’s much spicier than their usual dynamic, lol.

anddd with the arc just about over we’ve got to say goodbye to a few major & minor players I really enjoyed our time with:

I said a few weeks ago was the last time we were seeing ruki, but of course we do get to watch him get beheaded :( still kind of hope his father does get to avenge him someday, but him having to watch the execution silently in disguise while ruki calls out for him makes for such a miserable scene it’s fully juicy enough in its own right ❤️ han family delivers to the bitter end lol. Chou kou remains in my list of characters who I think it’s slightly more likely we’ll Actually see again, since notable courtiers/ministers are a slightly rarer breed I think he’s got a higher chance of being narratively useful .. tho if he doesn’t, his exit being as unceremonious as his arrival is also cute.

Unfortunately the anime didn’t make room for the extended how-far-we’ve-come first arc retrospective that shin and sei hold together on the tower at the end of the arc, so we don’t get to see the cute hyou panel that’s in the manga :( so sei’s little declaration of love will have to make up for it:

I love that he frames it as an order/command even though he’s orchestrated this part of his Big Plan at least partially just to create the stage shin has always dreamed of standing on; a major declaration of devotion, imo, even though he’s being overwhelmingly tsun about it. And now we’ve got our fifteen year timer going, it’s on to bigger things yet :) still only 1/6 nations subdued since then in the manga lol

“Yo a ti, Cas” Or how mexican dubbing gripped us tight and raised us from Despair.

Ok. So I promised a big meta about the dubbing thing and so while I don’t have all the answers YET, here’s a bit of perspective on the differences between Despair and The Truth.

First, a little background. I am a former professional dubbing translator. While I worked on anime series from Japanese to Spanish, rather than in live action ones from English to Spanish, the process is not that different. Also, I worked in Mexico, where Supernatural is dubbed, so that’s why I can make the assumptions I make. Finally, my specialization in college was translation from English to Spanish, so I guess I know what the hell I’m talking about.

So let’s start on HOW you translate something for a dub. Back in the day, you got a ton of VHS tapes with the episodes on them with time codes, and, if you were lucky, a shooting script. This is to say, it was not a transcript of the actual words said in the episode, but the script BEFORE the actors, directors, and everyone else had a hand on what was said and changed. And thus, anything adlibbed? Is not going to be in that script which, at least for the anime side of things? Was a nightmare as the script was usually “And here X actor can say whatever they want” and I had to go and listen to the scene ten thousand times. Now a days, you get either a video file or a streaming link, and sometimes, the shooting script. If you get a script, btw, you can also not get a script in the original language. I know that the person who had to translate Sprited Away to Spanish was working off a German script, not the Japanese one. So yeah, some things can be lost in translation there.

THEN you get to translate. BUT you can’t just translate word by word. You have to adapt it so that it will sound like something a person will say, and sometimes, literally is not the way to do it. And in particular, Mexican dubbing has a reputation to uphold as the “Neutral” dub that is send to most Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America, so we can’t use certain words (I don’t have the list at hand, but I remember that I couldn’t use “Llanta” for Tire, and so I had to use “Neumatico”. And no “sweaters” or “hotcakes” or stuff like that), AND we have to match the lips of the original video. Which is like, the worst nightmare ever because of what we call “labiales”, that is to say, the letters where lips close.

I can’t tell you how much we all loved when a character gave a long winded speech with their back to the camera due to those damned closed lip letters.

All this is to say that sometimes, the line could be “We are all in this together for good or bad”, and the translation become something more like “Estamos en esto, por las buenas o las malas” (We’re on this, the good way or the bad way) or “Estamos juntos en las buenas y en las malas” (We’re together in the good and the bad), depending on the translator, dub director, and voice actor.

Depending on the client, that is, the original owner of the series, sometimes they will review the translation once it’s all dubbed and edited. I know that in the Avengers movie, a Disney rep was present on the cabin and forbade any changes from the script, which resulted on a couple of awkward lines in the end result. I don’t know if that’s the case for Supernatural, but I honestly doubt it. Still, translators can’t make huge changes for the dialogue. One couldn’t just ADD a relationship that wasn’t there, no matter what.

(As an aside, due to the very conservative mindset of some tv stations, it’s more common that gay relationships become more ambiguous, by changing “I love you” to “Te quiero” which can be more of a filial love than a romantic one. And well, that one case in Sailor Moon where a gay character was changed into a woman because the dub director honestly thought the character was a woman. But that was in the nineties)

Now, let’s go to how Castiel’s speech was translated.

The original, according to Superwiki, went like this:

Castiel: You're the most caring man on Earth. You are the most selfless, loving human being I will ever know. You know, ever since we met, ever since I pulled you out of Hell, knowing you has changed me. Because you cared, I cared. I cared about you. I cared about Sam. I cared about Jack. I cared about the whole world because of you. You changed me, Dean.

Dean: Why does this sound like a goodbye? Castiel: Because it is. I love you. Dean: Don't do this, Cas. Cas.

And the translation, as it was aired, went like this (And people, you have no idea the war flashbacks transcribing this gave me, so I hope you appreciate it):

Castiel: Eres el hombre mas amoroso sobre la Tierra. Un hombre sin egoismo; el hombre mas generoso que haya visto, y que jamas vere. Sabes que desde que nos conocimos y desde que te saque del infierno, el conocerte me ha cambiado. Porque a ti te importa. Y a mi me importa. Me importas tu. Y me importa Sam, me importa Jack, me importa todo el mundo. Y fue por ti. Tu me cambiaste, Dean.

Dean: Porque suena esto a despedida?

Castiel: Porque asi fue. Te amo.

Dean: Yo a ti, Cas. (The empty appears and Billie opens the door) Cas…

Castiel: Adios Dean

Dean: No!

Ok. So… At first glance, they’re pretty much the same until we get to the I love you. BUT let’s dissect it a little bit.

Cas begins with a “Eres el hombre mas amoroso sobre la Tierra” which is not how I would’ve translated “The most caring man on Earth” since “caring” is more like “Cariñoso” rather than “amoroso” which would be “loving”, and yes, there’s a difference. Plus, “el hombre mas amoroso” sounds a bit clunky, so Personally, I’d have gone with “Eres el hombre mas cariñoso en la Tierra”, that would’ve given us more time for the rest of the speech, but I wonder if the translator choice for Amoroso instead was more due to the fact that “amor” (love) is more clearly romantic than “care” (cariño, in a sense, more on this later) and so it foreshadows the end.

Again, with the literal clunkyness we have “Un hombre sin egoismo” (A man without egoism) which sounds weird no matter what language you speak, and it should’ve been “Un hombre dadivoso” (A giving man) or “un hombre desinteresado” (a selfless man) although the second could be mis-construed as “a man without interests” so “dadivoso” would’ve better. But the more puzzling is that the Spanish separates the selfless man from the next, which is REALLY confusing as the English is “the most loving man”, which would be “el hombre mas amoroso” making it quite redundant, so the Spanish changes it to “the most generous man”, “el hombre mas generoso”. To add to this, Cas continues with “that I have seen and I will ever see” instead of “That I know”, because it’s far more poetic. And loving.

So yeah, Mexican Cas is basically saying that Dean Winchester is made of love and puppies.

Ahem.

The next part “You know, ever since I pulled you out of hell, you’ve changed me” is more or less word for word, and the only thing that changes is that the English sounds more like a question and the Spanish one is an affirmation. YOU KNOW that ever since I pulled you out of hell, you changed me.” Little verb tense play, that doesn't change much except Cas’s resolution to say what he has to say.

And then we get to the part that made me squeal out loud. Because we go from

“Because you cared, I cared. I cared about you. I cared about Sam. I cared about Jack. I cared about the whole world because of you”

“Porque a ti te importa. Y a mi me importa. Me importas tu. Y me importa Sam, me importa Jack, me importa todo el mundo.” Which at first glance is the same, but NOPE.

First change: The original is in past tense “I cared”. Spanish version is in present tense: “I care”.

Which is a little non important thing except when you remember that simple present means “immutable absolute truth that won’t change with time”

Second, the choice of word for care.

I mentioned before that Care can be Cariño, as in filial, non romantic love (Or romantic love pet name, as it can also be Darling. It’s one of THOSE words). Other translations for care include “cuidado” (as in attention, concern, keeping, and worry), and of course “interesarse” (Which also can be care), “preocuparse” (care, bother, trouble, mind, fuss), and yes, “importar” but “importar” ONLY translates to English as a verb as “import”, “matter” “amount to” and notice how none of those words include “love”.

Mexican Cas is not saying “you love the world, and so I do”. Mexican Cas is saying “The world matters to you, and thus it matters to me, but my feelings for the World (and Sam, and Jack) are not in the same league as my feelings for you.”

And then Dean asks “Why does this sound like a Goodbye”, just like in English, in present tense…

And Mexican Cas replies in PAST tense. “Porque asi fue”. And THIS is important because it means that everything he said before WAS the goodbye, and not what comes next. All the rest? Is in the past. “Because it was”. Not “Because it IS”. And the next part? Is their future.

I love you.

Te amo.

Simple present. No ambiguity like “te quiero”. Spanish Te amo is for romantic love. Not brotherly, not family, not bro-mantic. ROMANTIC.

It’s like “I’m IN love with you” (Although that’d be “Estoy enamorado de ti” and I doubt that would’ve fit in the time Misha spoke)

And of course, the answer. “Yo a ti, Cas”. Not “And I, you” as I’ve seen it before (And I also thought it was, until transcribing the scene) but a simple “I, you, Cas.” Which ok, pretty cave-speak, but the meaning is pretty clear. Dean Winchester loves his gay angel.

It is also telling that the empty doesn’t appear until AFTER Dean confessed, so no, Mexican Cas is not “happy with the saying”, he had to get to the “happy with the having”.

And when Billy appears, it does seem as if he wants to say something more, but Cas is a love-sick selfsacrificing dumbass and so we all get our hearts broken.

I did get in contact with Dean Winchester’s mexican voice actor, and am waiting for answers to a small interview I did with him which includes the question “did that And I you, Cas” was in the script, and am trying to contact Castiel’s mexican voice actor. So I will be updating you on that. But I hope this clears up some of the questions about how Mexican dubbing made Destiel Canon :D

I loved reading your takes on alternative routes! if you could, I'd love a Lottie and/or Hannah one since I feel like their relationships were rushed in-game

i would say having the girls' routes would've been what us gays deserved, because it was quite clear every single girl besides marisol were an afterthought.

((because the post got so long, i'll post lottie's on a separate one))

now, for the game's purposes i would make marisol's route the entryway for everyone else's, just because it would be easier to maintain the mystery for the other girls and still have a slowburn.

💙 on the very first challenge we get the chance to inform people about our sexuality, so a little nod about theirs would be nice. not like marisol's since they're not aware of it, but in a private dialogue. the narration could give hints of how differently she looks at mc, or how she has butterflies in her stomach but associates them with the anxiety of being in a tv show.

💙 more space to talk to the girls one-on-one before group scenes, like during breakfast, or making her an option to talk after "convincing one of the boys to pick you" scene. she's sad no one would choose her and she would lose her chance to find someone. she clears her throat and brushes the butterflies off.

💙 hannah being flustered about mc and gary in the bed together could also give a little nod of jealousy, something like "hannah seems to look at you a bit longer" then she delivers her dialogue and leaves. it makes it seem like she feels betrayed.

💙 on the night of the second recoupling it would be nice to have a moment with her in the dressing room after the girls leave.

"is everything ok, hannah?"

she sits down and stares at mc for a moment before answering. "i'm not sure. i don't know how i feel if i leave tonight."

we could have three options here: "is it because of gary?" // "is it because of another boy?" // "is it because of your journey?"

hannah's response would be vague, mostly because she doesn't know her own feelings. "i'm just... overwhelmed. i don't even think i'm supposed to feel the things that i'm feeling but..." she stops and looks at mc once more. "nevermind... i don't want to ruin your night. but thank you for talking to me, you're always so sweet..."

💙 after gary chooses marisol, hannah's eyes focus on mc. before she gives her goodbye speech, she pulls mc to the side. "listen, i want to thank you for being so... such a good friend. i wish we had more time..." she stops herself and brushes it off. "well, let's not be more dramatic any more right?"

💙 while leaving she casts one last glance before hugging mc.

💙 during the time she's gone we get tips about how she's behaving on the outside, possibly given to us by bombshells. after gary and lottie's kiss is revealed chelsea could say "i don't think she really cared. hannah seemed very ok with lottie and gary that night."

💙 on day 24, when she comes back, we're the first person she says hi. even though gary is looking at her, she focuses her attention on mc.

💙 their next dialogue would have to be right after the firepit scene, mc could start the conversation and her response would be almost enigmatic:

"well, i had time to think about things, to discover a lot about myself. i know it sounds... hasty, but it's true. being in the villa was really important to me." she chuckles hesitantly. "i know i sound dramatic. i see you and marisol are having a good time..." eyebrows raised while expecting a response.

the responses would allow you to stay on her route or not: "we're really strong" // "it's been a roller-coaster" // "it's not as good"

💙 if you tell her you're not feeling it with marisol, i want her response to be "well, she's not the only girl in the villa is she?" given elisa is here, coupled up with bobby, she completes. "i reckon elisa might be... you know, paying close attention to you. is that something you're interested in?"

again, a new set of answers: "elisa is a good mate" // "she's attractive but not my type" // "i'm interested in her"

given hannah is much more direct when she comes back, i want to make her retract a bit, a little sign that she hasn't changed as much as she wants people to believe. "whoever gets to couple up with you... would be so lucky."

"like who?"

"um..." before she can answer someone interrupts the conversation. "why don't we talk about this later?"

💙 hannah catches you alone in the dressing room, when the spider scene happens, but now her route is open.. she questions you about returning!lurik, but regardless of your answer she talks about herself afterwards.

"i've had some time to think things over. i now know why i was so upset about leaving." hannah sits on the stool by your side, playing with makeup brushes. "i had been looking for a prince but i never realized that's not what i wanted. if i could turn back time with the knowledge i ahve now... well, things would've been different. much different."

"how?"

"for starters, i would know what i want." she smiles at mc. "and i would do my best to go for it." hannah's eyes focus on mc's as she continues. "i'm thankful for your friendship and support, and part of my gratitude was... something i tried to ignore,m but it was stronger than me."

"what are you saying?"

"i'm saying... i like you. a lot. the hardest part about leaving was not knowing what i know now. the time i was here, although short, made me question so much about myself. on the outside i realized i didn't care about gary, or what happened between you because of him. it was because of you." she chuckles sadly. "i think i already had a crush on you back then."

"a crush on me?!"

"yes." she smiles softly. "trust me, i was as surprised as you are now."

"i don't think that's possible" // "i had a feeling" // "i knew it!"

well, those first days feel like a million years ago. but now that i'm back, i'm... not going to waste any more time. i don't want to waste a second chance, so..." she looks into mc's eyes. "is that something you would like to explore?"

"yes, i would like that." // "it's all so sudden" // "i'm happy with my couple"

if you choose one of the first two she would respond. "i reckon we need to get to know each other before making a decision. ask me anything, i would gladly answer."

you could these questiuons in whatever order. "what made you realize you like girls?"

"watching you getting with other people was... somehow painful. i realized it wasn't about you being my friend, it was about me not being the person you were with."

"are you interested in anyone else?"

"even if i was it wouldn't matter. there's so little time i would rather focus it on you."

"what does your family think of this?"

"my mom has been very supportive. my dad doesn't really talk about it much. granted we didn't have many opportunities to talk face-to-face but... i think he's ok with it." she hesitates. "even if he wasn't. i'm old enough to make this decision for me. i've always felt like the odd one. that there was no place for me in anyone's world, and now? now i know why. that hannah that came in here wasn't me. she was shy, awkward and straight."

"and now?"

"i'm no longer straight." she chuckles with a little snort. "changing my hair and my style were just for... me. after i found out about this i knew i wasn't the same girl."

"you're still the same girl to me" // "you haven't changed much" // "i like the change"

well, i still think the biggest change was... you know... liking girls." she snorts. "but i'm ok with this. lots of the things that have happened to me make so much more sense now."

if you decide to go for her, this is the chance. "i want to couple up with you." // "i want to stay friends"

she would hesitate but offer to hold your hand. "it seems we have tough conversations ahead. but i'm glad we're doing this! i'm glad i could be honest and talk to you. i've been scared of your answer."

"scared?"

"yes, i was afraid you were gonna say no and, well, i wouldn't know what to do if you had. but now? you made me so happy!" she hesitantly closes the distance between you. "i hope we can have a moment for ourselves as soon as possible."

"kiss her" // "hug her" // "hold her hand"

💙 at the final recoupling mc always has second choice, so now that hannah is available, two boys will leave the villa, the person you saved or brought back and possibly bobby or returning!lurik.

💙 as mc chooses her she gets up and smiles, nervously, holding a little piece of paper in her hands. "i am so happy i followed my heart thius time. i was so afraid of what people thought about me for so long i forgot to revisit how i felt. you have always been a great friend, so kind and so welcoming. i don't think my life would've changed this much so soon and so abruptly, but i'm glad it did. i feel like myself with you, like i can be whatever i want and you'll accept me. thank you for giving me this chance."

💙 last date, or their first, hannah would share about past times she thought about the possibility of liking girls. "but i always thought it was just... jealousy. i thought i wanted to be like them. they were so beautiful and i was so awkward."

💙 the baby challenge might the most fun she has because with mc she feels right in her element.

💙 the final speech, at the prom, goes short but sweetly. "sometimes not even the greatest authors can express themselves with only words. but i feel like every time i look at you my face says enough. i can't help smiling and thinking of a better future now that we're together. being afraid i know what is like, but now? i'm loving being free. thank you for being the type of person that has my back, that makes me feel special, that makes me want to be better every day. i came in insecure and shy, i'm leaving... also shy, but less insecure. and with a great person that makes me happy."

Sweet as Cyanide-Dream

This is a Dream x gn!reader in the dreamsmp! This follows cannon (ish), but does not follow cannon dialogue. For my own sake, I have written my own dialogue for the scenes that happen in this imagine. I just have a really hard time copying dialogue like that and I really enjoy writing my own stuff like this. I hope that is okay and I hope you all enjoy!

The whole server thinks that Y/N is being forced to stand by Dream’s side, but they couldn’t be more wrong. They all believe they’re just a sweet innocent creature, but many times people forget that sweet things can be poisonous.

Y/N’s POV

For everything Dream has done, I have stood right beside him. Both figuratively and literally. I have supported just about every decision Dream has made for the Dreamsmp. I have also stood beside him while he made these decisions in the physical sense. Many times when Dream would go ‘overboard’ or ‘crazy’ I would ‘reel him back in’ making myself seem sweeter and more approachable to those who dared oppose my lover. When Tommy was exiled, I went with Dream on his daily visits and when Dream forced Tommy to put everything he had in a hole, I would convince Dream to let Tommy keep one thing so he wouldn’t have to completely restart. I was Dream’s other half… Dream’s better half.

Oftentimes I would be questioned as to why I was with him. Many didn’t believe me when I told them the truth. They came up with the idea that Dream held me captive and forced me to be with him, which wasn’t true at all. The truth is I love Dream. I love him with all my heart. I also love the power that comes with being Dream’s lover. Nobody questioning my decisions or my orders. Being treated with respect because everyone was too scared to face my boyfriend wrath… Well almost everyone.

Tommy never seemed to fear Dream. Tommy stood his ground, fought for what he believed in, and never gave in easily to Dream unless something that he truly cared for was being threatened. That’s why Dream wanted to put a stop to it, once and for all. Together we built a base, far away from the main area of the SMP. Somewhere we could keep everyone’s prized possession, but mostly Tommy’s prized possession, the discs. The discs meant everything to Tommy, literal wars have been fought over them. Which is why we had to keep them safe. After the base was built and filled, Dream invited Tommy and Tubbo to ‘talk’. I waited underground as the three of them fought.

I waited in anticipation in my little seat I had made as the elevator descended. There stood a gobsmacked Tommy and Tubbo and a smirking Dream. I could hear Dream giving his big speech over how he had everything anyone cared for in this lair. “The discs!” Tommy exclaimed, rushing forward, carefully stepping on the gold shrine built for the discs. Tommy reached out to grab one of the discs, but was quickly cut off, “I wouldn’t do that if I were you,” My eyes drifted over to Dream who now had a sword to Tubbo’s throat. Tommy’s eyes widened and he quickly walked back off of the shrine.

“Follow me boys, let me show you something,” Dream called, letting go of Tubbo and walking toward, what I have been calling, “The Hall of Attachments”. Tommy’s eyes scanned the room and locked with mine, “Y/N?” He whispered, causing me to nod and stand up. “You better do as he says Tommy,” I chimed sweetly at the boy, “You wouldn’t want anyone to get hurt, would you?” I questioned with a small pout on my lips. Tommy quickly shook his head no before following after Dream to walk down the hall.

I followed lazily behind the three as Dream showed off everything that the two of us had collected. Techno’s favorite axe, Sapnap’s beloved fish, Wilbur’s best friend, and even Tommy’s adored cow, Henry. “We have it all down here Tommy. Everything everyone cares about. The thing that they are attached to the most. It’s here. I control it.” Dream announced with a huge smirk on his face. Tommy quickly turned to me with wide eyes, “Y/N you’re dating a psychopath. You must realize that right?” Dream’s laughter didn’t give me a chance to answer, “You say psycho, I say dedicated… Now I have one final piece of business to attend to.”

Dream drew his sword and looked at Tubbo, “I’m going to have to kill you now Tubbo. It’s the only way,” “NO!” Tommy screamed, moving in front of his best friend. “NO! I won’t let you do it. You say you need me on this server? If you kill Tubbo, I’ll kill myself. Then what big man?” “Tommy. It’s alright. It’s time,” Tubbo said gently, slightly breaking my heart. “Move Tommy,” Dream demanded, going to move forward. I quickly reached out and grabbed his wrist, “Dream. Let them say goodbye at least,” I slightly begged, looking him in the eyes, hoping he would get the message. If they got to say goodbye, maybe Tommy would be more complacent and compliant. Dream gave me a small nod before turning back to the two boys, “Since Y/N asked so nicely, you two can say your goodbyes. We’re going to give you a few minutes. Make use of that time.” I threw the boys an ‘I’m so sorry’ look as Dream dragged me over to the corner.

“How do you think it’s going?” Dream whispered, glancing at the two boys. I gave a half shrug with a small smile, “They seem to be following along just fine and it seems that they’re actually going along with the plan. Although, it does make me a bit sad. Are you sure we have to kill Tubbo?” I asked, looking over at the two boys that were hugging very tightly. Dream rolled his eyes and grabbed my other hand, “You know I do sweetness. If there were any other way, you know I’d do it. But this is the way it has to be.” I let out a sigh and gave a slight nod in understanding.

We watched the two boys hug for a few moments more, Tubbo mumbling words of reassurance to his best friend… his brother before they both turned to the corner where Dream and I stood. Tubbo gave us a little nod and we approached. I was in front of Dream and I wrapped my arms around the small boy and hugged him tight to my chest, kissing the top of his head. “I’m so sorry,” I murmured in the boy’s ear. A small shrug bounced off the boys shoulders, “It’s alright, Goodbye Y/N,” “Goodbye Tubbo.”

I let go of Tubbo and moved to stand next to Tommy, wrapping a comforting arm around him. Dream moved and took his place standing before Tubbo, drawing his sword. “Sorry, Tubbo. This is the way it has to be, you understand,” Dream smirked, bringing his arm back to stab the young boy, but it never moved forward.

“Sorry Dream,” The familiar voice of Punz called out from the nether portal that we had built in this base. All of our heads snapped to the man who stood alone in the purple magic. “Punz?” Dream questioned, really confused as to why his most loyal pawn had appeared and was apologizing, “Sorry Dream,” He repeats taking a few steps forward, “You should have paid me more.” I felt my breath stop in my throat as almost everyone came through the nether portal. “You came!” Tommy cheered, a tear streaming down his face as he looked at the members with overwhelming joy.

Dream, thrown off by the sudden appearance of everyone, lost concentration on Tubbo. “The discs!” Tommy screetchs, ripping himself from my side, running to one shrine, “Tubbo the other!” Tubbo, using Dream’s distraction to his advantage, bolted to the shrine. Together the boys ripped the discs off the shrines and placed them into the ender chests that were placed beside them. Dream turned and glared at the boys. Tommy catching sight of this screams, “Get behind them!” Tommy ran past me and grabbed my wrist and pulled me behind every one decorated in enchanted netherite armor, weapons on display.

Dream slowly turned back around to face the server. “Oh… Hey guys…” Dream greeted everyone awkwardly. “Dream, what the hell is this place?” Puffy questioned, glaring at the man before her. Dream awkwardly shuffled, glancing around, making quick eye contact with me, before looking back to Puffy. “Well… This is my base,” He answered. I watched everyone look around the place, most of their gazes falling on the Hall of Attachments. “And what is that?” Someone asked, pointing to the hall.

Dream remained silent, not telling. “Go on Dream,” Tommy urged, taking a few steps toward my boyfriend, “Tell them. Tell them what you told me.” Dream still remained silent again, looking down to the ground. “Tell them Dream!” Tommy boomed, bursting through the crowd. “Tell them how all you care about is power. Tell them you are controlling their things so that you can control them! Go on! Tell them!” Tommy demands. “Tommy,” Dream attempts to console the child, but Tommy wasn’t listening.

At this point everyone was slowly looking through the hall, seeing everything that the two of us had collected over the months. Dream makes his way to the front of the group, “Guys, listen!” He says, attempting to get everyone to stop, but it was clear that no one was on his side. “Sapnap, can I borrow a pickaxe?” I heard Tommy question from behind the crowd. There was a moment of silence before Tommy pushed his way to the front, pickaxe now in his hand. “Here Dream,” He said, punching a hole in the ground. “Put your things in this hole,” I couldn’t help the small gasp that escaped my lips. Tommy looked over his shoulder at me before turning back to Dream, “And you know what. Because your girlfriend was so kind to me in exile, I’ll let you keep one thing,” Tommy announced.

“Tommy, please,” Dream attempted to reason again. Tommy was having none of it. “One thing,” he punched, “The rest in this hole.” Dream hesitated, but obeyed. He stripped everything, but his helmet off of his body and threw the rest in the hole Tommy had created. “Good boy,” Tommy taunted before jumping down the hole and collecting everything. Tommy came back up from the hole wearing Dream’s armor and wielding Dream’s sword.

“Now what?” Dream asked. If I were anyone else, I wouldn’t have been able to tell. But Dream was nervous. His whole plan was just foiled, the entire SMP had literally come crashing down on him. Tommy, of all people, had just robbed him of his things leaving him utterly defenceless. “What now? Now… Now I think I’ll kill you with your own weapons,” Tommy pretended to ponder before taking a swing at Dream. From the way Dream reeled back, I could tell that the blow did a lot of damage.

“Tommy stop!” Dream cried, attempting to run away from the 16 year old. Tommy chased after Dream, swinging wildly after the man. I watched with baited breath as Tommy eventually caught up to Dream and killed him. I didn’t even have to look at my arm to know that Tommy had taken a cannon life.

Everyone was in shock at what had just happened. Tommy, the youngest person on the server, had just killed Dream. The man that demanded to be viewed as a God. The elevator sounded, causing everyone’s attention to shift. Dream came back down, staring at Tommy in both anger and shock. I could tell Dream wanted nothing more than to take Tommy’s last life, but there was no way he could.

“Tommy, we’re friends. Aren’t we? Can we please talk-” Tommy didn’t let him finish. Instead he let out a roar before running forward and striking yet another blow. This time when Dream ran away, Tommy pulled out Dream’s crossbow and shot him, taking yet another cannon life. My heart thudded in fear. I knew Tommy was angry and I knew he also wanted nothing more than to take my boyfriend’s last cannon life. “Come down Dream,” Tommy called in anger when the elevator didn’t return back down. “Face me like the man you claim to be. Let me-” I couldn’t stop myself.

I raced forward and placed a soft hand on Tommy’s upper arm, “Tommy, please. Please don’t do this.” My words visibility softened Tommy. Tommy’s arms fell and he lowered the crossbow and looked over to me. I batted my eyelashes innocently as I asked, “Can you please just let him talk to everyone. He could tell everyone what he’s done. His master plan. Plus, he has something else he has to share with you and if you kill him again, you’ll lose it forever. Just would you please let him come down?” Tommy gave me a soft short nod. “Yeah, anything for you Y/N.” I returned Tommy’s smile before turning my head up to the elevator and called, “Dream. It’s okay. Come down.”

It was silent for a moment before the elevator sounded once more and Dream appeared again. Once he was down, he took a few steps off of the elevator and looked around sheepishly. “Are you ready to talk?” I asked gently, causing Dream’s eyes to snap to me. We held a silent conversation, I mentally told him the jig was up. It was time to tell all. The worst they could do was leave. Dream let out a sigh and nodded. “First come here,” Tommy demanded. Having nothing, Dream had to obey. Tommy built an obsidian wall around Dream and finished it off by placing a block in front of him, making it so he couldn’t get out. “Go on, tell them.”

And so he did. Dream spilled everything. Everything about the hall, how he wanted power and he was willing to do anything to get it. He told about how horrible to Tommy, Dream was in exile. Dream told about how he was the one who blew up the community house. He claimed that if something awful happened, it was probably him. Dream even spilled about the book that JSchlatt had given Dream, the one that made him switch sides. Dream told that if he were to lose his last cannon life, Wilbur would be gone forever… Anyone that had lost their lives would be gone forever…

That being said, he left me out completely. He left out that it was our plan. That we were in this together. I silently cursed and thanked him. I wanted us to be together in everything, but I also knew that nothing was going to get accomplished if nobody trusted either of us. I had to remain this perfect picture of innocence. I had to be sweet. I couldn’t be poisonous.

It was silent for a while after he spilled everything. “Team meeting,” Tommy announced, turning around. Everyone was very confused as to what the hell he was talking about. “Everyone, gather round,” he demanded, waving his arms. Everyone piled into a big, tight knit circle, sending one another confused looks. “What do we do with him now. He has to be punished, but we cannot take his last life, but he cannot walk around freely” Tommy explained, looking around at everyone. No one spoke up… I knew what I had to.

I looked to Sam as if I had a sudden idea, “the Prison,” I whispered. A look of recognition flashed over his face as he nodded, “Yeah. It would be perfect, it’s complete and it’s something he made me build. The symbolism… Incredible, getting locked in his own inescapable prison.” Everyone murmured amongst themselves in confusion. Oh, that’s right. No one knew about it. “We’ll explain later. But it’s perfect and we won’t have to worry about him. I’ll escort him there myself,” Sam claimed before turning back to my trapped boyfriend.

“Dream, for your crimes against the server, you’re under arrest. You will be escorted to the inescapable prison you had me build and will be in there until for an undetermined amount of time.” Sam announced boldly, moving to the obsidian. Dream’s eyes widened at his words. We certainly didn’t plan for this. Sam began breaking the obsidian to from him trap and I could only watch.

“Y/N,” Niki whispered, jarring me out of my thoughts. I turned to face the sweet girl and she immediately pulled me into a hug. She was trying to console me, after all, everyone believed that I was with him against my own will. I wrapped my arms around her, hugging her back. “I’m so sorry it took us this long. But you’re free now” She claimed. I mentally laughed at her words. Sure, to them I was free but I honestly had never felt more trapped. Swallowing harshly, I nodded, “It’s okay Niki. I’m okay now. Thank you,” I forced out, trying to sound as nice as possible.

Niki pulled back and gave me a sweet smile, nodding. “No problem sweetheart. And if you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of us.” I faked a sweet smile and nodded, “Yeah, will do… Hey, I think I’m going to walk with Sam to escort Dream to prison, just to make sure that 1. He doesn’t try anything and 2. That he actually gets locked up… An ease of mind thing,” I explained to Niki. She immediately nodded, “Yeah, sure thing. How about afterwards you come by the bakery and we can make cookies together.” I nodded and gave her another smile, “Sounds good Nik. I’ll see you there then.”

I quickly walked over to Sam and a now handcuffed Dream. “I’m going to go with you, just to be sure,” I explained quickly, seeing Sam’s confused face. Sam looked me up and down before giving a nod. “Alright, we’re going to head out,” He announced to everyone. Heads turned back to us and they’re eyes followed us as we walked to the nether portal. I gave a small wave as the three of us disappeared in the purple magic.

The walk to the prison was silent. Dream didn’t have much to say considering how we couldn’t really talk about a plan in front of Sam. Sam also didn’t have much to say, there being a slight tension as we walked. All the way there, my thoughts were going wild. I spent the entire time thinking of a way out of this. But I couldn’t come up with one, at least not right now while everything was still so new.

Sam let me enter the prison. In fact, he let me go as far as being in Dream’s cell. “Hey, I know you’re really not supposed to, but I’ll give you all my things and stuff but could I just get a moment alone with Dream?” I asked as sweetly as I could, batting my eyelashes, praying he would say yes. Sam hesitated for a moment before he stuck out his arms. I piled everything from my inventory into his arms, moving so that he could see that I had in fact given him everything before he left the cell with the promise he would be back soon.

As soon as Sam was out of sight and ear shot, I rushed forward and engulfed my boyfriend in a hug. “I’m so sorry,” I muttered into Dream’s shoulder as I clutched him. “It’s not your fault. I should have seen this coming. Who knew Punz would be the one to betray me,” Dream spit in anger, not directed at me. “Doesn’t make me less sorry… What do we do now?” I asked, pulling myself ever so slightly out of his arms. “Lay low for a while,” He commanded, “Everyone will be checking up on you because I just got thrown in jail. Make sure to act as happy as possible, you’re free after all,” He claimed with a dark chuckle. “We’ll figure something out. A prison break of some sorts. It may take a long time. But we’ll do it okay. You and me,” “You and me,” I confirmed.

The rest of our time alone was spent in a tight embrace. Our plan had fallen apart. I wouldn’t be able to visit much due to the fact I was supposed to be acting happy that Dream was in his own prison. Once we could hear Sam’s footsteps, we pulled apart. I pressed a rushed kiss to Dream’s lips before stepping away from him just in time. “Alright Y/N, it’s time to go.” I nodded and moved to stand beside Sam. Sam pressed a button and iron bars came up, locking Dream in a cage. Sam then pressed another button and lava began to flow from the ceiling. Right before he disappeared from view, Dream mouthed an ‘I love you’, me mouthing one back.

I was now metaphorically on my own. Alone in a server where everyone hated my boyfriend and would absolutely not be willing to help me break him out of prison… Wait. There is one person that might not be willing to help, but he might have to… He’s the perfect person to do this and he can’t say no. After all, Technoblade still owes us that favor.

Lesson starts off by Mammon asking you to buy a cake if you’re headed to a bakery, kinda giving you the cold shoulder. Asmo is on his way out so you guys walk together.

He says he’s a bit jealous of the bond you and the brothers have. Not that they didn’t ask Diavolo to join the family, but that they asked you, because he wants you to himself.

Then you meet Solomon

This part of the lesson is called “Solomon’s many secrets” but he doesn’t really tell you any. You can ask him about the demons he has pacts with and what they are to him. He answers that at this point they’re sorta like friends now. Any other question you ask him, he gives you very vague answers. If you ask if he’s going to tell you the truth, he answers, “nope.” And also that he’s had a bit too much to drink.

Saying goodbye to the brothers (You can choose to kiss them of hug them after each of them say goodbye) OF COURSE I KISSED ALL OF THEM!

ALRIGHT YA’LL! One of my mutuals summed up lesson 60 Hard Mode, which gives great insight as what to expect for season 4. Basically, back in Devildom, Lucifer receives a letter from Michael saying that they’ve chose 2 new students for the exchange program. So big yes to Raphael but who else? I wouldn’t say Michael himself would be one of the new exchange students. I don’t remember if there were any other angels mentioned throughout the lessons. BUT DOES THAT MEAN NEW POSSIBLE NEW CHARACTERS?! I can’t-I can’t love anymore characters! ALSO, Raphael appearing at the end like that?! HELLO?! He’s been mentioned a few times but I wasn’t expecting him to show up! At this point I don’t know what to expect for Season 4. All I know is if they give us routes, you bet I will marry all of them in 1 night. If they give us new characters, I will romance them in 1 night. Even if they’re the bad guys. I’ve been a hoe for 3 seasons I can and will do it for another.

So MC is a licensed sorcerer now. All they have to do is learn summoning magic. Which I assume will happen during this “break”. We don’t want a training arc. Although I am not opposed to spending more time with Solomon.

WELL, I’m excited for what’s to come! We also have the anime coming out soon~ Even if it’s short episodes, it’s still something. Also OtakuFm! And I’m pretty sure a bunch of events. I’ll miss main story brothers and everyone else tho.

For now, I’ll use this break to catch up on hard lessons and more fan art.

The PC approaches the bailiff.

Bailiff: Can you believe it? Thom Rainier himself. Bailiff: Something you want?

2 - Investigate: What do you know of Rainier? PC: You must know something about Rainier? Bailiff: I know what everyone knows: he’ll hang for the massacre of a noble and his family. [back to 1]

4 - [Leave.] Bailiff: Guess not.

As the PC leaves: Bailiff: Goodbye, then.

The PC enters the jail and approaches Blackwall’s cell. Blackwall kneels dejectedly on the floor.

The PC walks up to the bars.

Dialogue options:

Sad: You lied to me. [5]

Pleased: What you did was brave. [6]

Confused: You really killed those people? [7]

Angry: And dying makes up for it? [8]

5 - Sad: You lied to me. PC: I called you a friend. I trusted you. You lied. Blackwall: You thought I was Blackwall. I didn’t want to tell you otherwise. As Blackwall, I was something. I had a purpose. I could make amends. [9]

6 - Pleased: What you did was brave. PC: You saved that man. That took courage. Blackwall: Courage? I killed innocent people… destroyed Mornay’s life and the lives of others like him. One moment of courage will not make up for that. [9]

7 - Confused: You really killed those people? PC: Was the bailiff telling the truth? Did you really do those things? Blackwall: Yes, I did. It’s all true. It’s time we all took a good look at who I really am. [9]

8 - Angry: And dying makes up for it? PC: You think your death will make up for what you did? Blackwall: Isn’t it a start? [9]

9 - Scene continues.

Blackwall: Why are you here?

Dialogue options:

General: I want to help. PC: I needed you to know you aren’t alone in this. ㅤㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤ General: That’s up to you. PC: That depends on what you say. ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤ

Blackwall stands and grabs the bars, rattling them.

The PC backs away.

Blackwall: This is what I am! A murderer, a traitor… a monster.

Blackwall sinks to the ground.

General: You’re more than that. PC: I know you’re more than what you say. Have some faith in yourself. ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤ

General: I’m not convinced. PC: Would a monster have given himself up? Somewhere along the line you stopped pretending. ㅤㅤ ㅤ ㅤㅤㅤ ㅤ

Before It’s Too Late (Ethan x MC)

Book: Set during book 2 ch. 11.

Pairing: Ethan Ramsey x MC (Evelyn Long)

Summary: An attack scene rewrite when Ethan spends the night with MC.

A/N: Characters and some dialogue owned by Pizelberry.

I finally decided how I was going to write this rewrite. Initially I was trying to do a full chapter rewrite but half way through, I was already at 3k+ words so it would be waaaay to long. Thankfully, I managed to summarize it but also give it a ton of angst. (This was my first time writing angst btw.) I hope you enjoy!

8:30 pm

It's been exactly five hours since the attack. Five excruciatingly long hours since Evelyn’s world was turned upside down.

Travis, Senator Ed’s assistant, had slowly been poisoning him with lead. When they went to confront him, he pulled out a can and sprayed everyone in the room with a deadly unknown substance.

The Senator managed to escape and Travis was dead. But so was Bobby, with Danny fighting for his life.

Evelyn begins to cry again as she thinks about Bobby’s wife and two kids that he left behind. They would now have to grow up without their dad. He would miss so many big milestones in their lives all because of two selfish people.

“E-Evelyn…?” a weak voice calls from across the room.

She walks over to the bed where Raf is lying down, a light sheen of sweat covering his pale face.

The team had come a little while ago with a shot that they had hoped would slow the progression of their symptoms, but Raf’s still seemed to be getting worse.

“What’s wrong?” he asks quietly, gently wiping the tears from her face.

“I was just… thinking about Bobby’s family and… everything that he… would miss. He was… just telling me… this morning that… his oldest daughter is turning sixteen this year…”

“I know… life isn’t fair. They didn’t deserve any of this.”

“You didn’t either, Raf.”

“But I saved you from having to suffer so much… and that’s what matters.”

“Raf…”

“Shh… listen, I feel… like I’m… getting worse. Will you… do me a favour?”

“Of course. Anything you need.”

“Please help me call my vovo.”

Evelyn hands Raf his phone to unlock, then scrolls through his contacts until she sees his grandmother’s name, tapping it, she places the phone to his ear.

“Olá, vovo.”

“No… I’m not well. There was an attack at the hospital today and the Senator’s assistant tried to kill him. A few people were in the room when it happened. The Senator escaped, but his assistant and one person that works here died and the other is in critical condition. Evelyn and I are in quarantine right now.”

“I just wanted to let you know… that if I… don’t make it… I love you with all my heart.”

“Alright, take care. I love you too.”

“Thank you, Evelyn.” he takes a shaky breath, his heart rate slowing and growing more shallow.

“Evelyn… I think you should… call the team… I'm sorry I couldn't save you… that this… might be the way it ends…” he murmurs, eyes meeting hers, as warm and kind as the day they met.

Taking his hand, she can barely see him through her tears.

“You'll make it through this Raf… I know you will…”

He smiles up at her before his eyes flutter closed and his hand falls away.

Moments later Ethan and June rush into the room.

“I’d hoped that the treatment would buy us more time,” Ethan says sadly.

“We don’t know that it didn’t.” Evelyn tries reassuring him.

He nods as June’s eyes fill with sympathy.

“We’ll get him to the support suite. There’s still a chance that we could fix this Evelyn.” June tells her, as she prepares Rafael for transport.

Evelyn’s almost too scared to ask, but she needs to know. “How’s Danny?”

“We… we lost him.” Ethan’s voice comes out in a whisper.

“No…”

“Before he died he… he asked to be autopsied. To help the two of you.”

As Ethan turns to help June, Evelyn reports Raf’s most recent symptom of hot cold reversal.

“Stay strong, Evelyn. We’ll know more soon.” June tells her reassuringly as she and Ethan slowly push Raf out of the room.

Now she’s all alone, curled up on her bed, the pressure in her head becoming almost too much to bear.

Her mind drifts to Danny. She remembers her first day when he was the one that told her that she had just performed a thoracotomy with Ethan Ramsey. The night of the party her roommates had when he and Sienna talked all night until they fell asleep together on the couch.

Sienna. All Evelyn wanted to do was rush to her side and hold her. She and Danny were supposed to be together. They were meant for each other. But how he was gone, and Sienna would have to live with that loss. She probably never even got to say goodbye.

Goodbye. Evelyn had to be prepared.

Picking up her phone, she sees that she has several missed calls and messages.

Calling her mom, she picks up immediately.

“Evelyn sweetie! Are you okay?! Oh my goodness, we saw what happened on the news and I thought we lost you!”

Hearing her mom’s voice, her tears start falling again.

“I’m hanging in there right now mom. It’s just me in the room now. Rafael just got taken to the support suite.”

“Oh, sweetie…”

“Mom… is everyone there?”

“Yes, honey. We’re all here.”

“Can you put me on speaker please?”

“Hey Evey.” she hears her dad’s voice say.

“Hi, Dad.”

“Hi Evelyn, do they know what it is yet?

“Hi Ben, no they don’t. We got a shot earlier that was supposed to slow the progression of the symptoms, but we don’t have a cure yet.”

“Oh.”

“Listen, guys… if I don’t make it…”

“No Evelyn! You can’t say that!” her heart breaks as she hears Ben crying through the phone.

“Wait… just listen to me. I’m preparing for the worst. I want you guys to know… that I love you all so much. And I want to thank you for everything that you’ve done to help me fulfill my dreams.”

Aside from the sound of soft cries, the line is silent.

Finally, her dad speaks up.

“We love you too sweetie. Stay strong and hang in there. You’ll be fine.”

“I’ll try… take care.”

“Bye.”

Later, her friends and the diagnostics team are gathered outside her window. Bryce looks at her with haunted eyes while a crying Sienna buries her face in Jackie’s shoulder.

“How’s Kyra? The surgery must be over by now…”

“She’s fine and resting. We haven’t told her what happened yet.”

“Good idea.”

“So, do you know what it is yet?”

Ethan explains to her that it’s a maitotoxin that he had never seen before. It was still present in Danny’s bony postmortem and on the surface of his skin.

Processing the information, the realization hits Evelyn like a ton of bricks.

“Maitotoxin… that’s derived from parasites in fish, isn’t it? But… there’s no antidote so… I’m going to die here…” her voice now barely a whisper. “I can’t believe this. Today was supposed to be happy. Kyra was supposed to have a successful surgery and everything was supposed to be fine… but now Danny’s dead, Raf is in a coma, and I’m… I’m…” Evelyn buries her face in her hands as she begins to cry.

“Now isn’t the time to give up hope Evelyn. Because of Raf’s actions, you didn’t get much in your system so your symptoms aren’t as advanced. There may not be an antidote as yet, but I promise you that we’ll be working round-the-clock to synthesize one.” Ethan tries to sound as confident as he can, his heart breaking to see Evelyn hurting.

“You won’t be alone.”

Everyone turns around to see that the statement had come from Tobias, as he, and several Mass Kenmore doctors approached them, all prepared to do whatever it takes.

As everyone heads down to the lab, Ethan lingers behind at the window.

“Are you okay, Ethan?”

“No, Evelyn, I’m not okay. But you don’t need to hear about that. You should try and get some rest. Have you slept at all?”

“No. I can’t stop thinking about Rafael. How long he can last… whether… whether it’s already…”

“…Do you want me to stay for a while?”

“Yes, please. If this is my last night alive, I want to spend it with you.”

“If I was in your position, I’d feel the same way about you.”

“Really?”

“Really, Evelyn.”

Suiting up and entering the room, he gently guides her to the bed.

“Now lie down. I know it sounds impossible, but I need you to relax and try to think about something happy.”

As she lies down, Ethan gently pulls up the covers around her.

“Something happy like what it would be like if we went on a date?”

“If that’s what makes you happy then sure.”

Her happiness leaves as quickly as it came.

“What’s wrong?”

“I just feel like there are so many things that I should have done.”

“Like what?”

“I should have loved more.”

“What do you mean?”

“I’ve spent the last decade focusing on college, med school, work, always guarding my heart because I might be in another city the next year. It makes me wonder… what could have been,” she confesses sadly.

Ethan is quiet for a long moment.

“Since we’re sharing regrets, do you mind if I share one of mine?”

“Go ahead.”

Reaching across, Ethan’s gloved hand finds hers.

“I wish I hadn’t asked you to stay away.”

“You do?” she asks surprised.

“We’ve wasted so much time. I’ve wasted so much time. I should have held you in my arms every day and told you how much I… how much I love you.”

“Ethan?”

“Shh… I just needed you to know… that no matter what happens… I love and care about you more than I can ever tell you.”

“I love you too, Ethan.”

“You do?”

“Of course! I thought you knew that already.”

“I did. It’s just so wonderful to hear you say it.”

“I wish I could kiss you.”

“Soon. You will soon.”

Joining her on the bed, he wraps his bulky arms around her as eyes begin to flutter closed.

“Evelyn? Can you please look at me?”

“Hmm?”

Forcing her eyes open, she looks at him through his helmet.

“Promise me that you’ll keep fighting. That you won’t give up. Oh, Evelyn… our story’s only just begun and it can’t end here. Please… please promise me.”

“…I… promise,” she whispers before falling asleep.

The next morning she wakes up to excruciating pain in her stomach. Doubling over, Ethan reaches across from the chair for her.

“It’s okay Evelyn, you’ll be alright!”

Feeling weaker than ever, she can barely make out the blurry figures running to her window.

“Evelyn! We did it!” Aurora shouts.

“Huh?”

Baz and June enter the room with the antidote as Tobias explains how they did it.

“What about Raf? He’s much sicker than I am…”

“We administered it to him, but too far there’s been no chance. It’s possible we’re already too late.” Sienna gloomily reveals.

“But he hasn’t gotten any worse, that has to mean something!” Elijah adds.

As Ethan gently injects the serum into her vein, he whispers into her ear.

“Hang in there, Evelyn.”

Over the next several anxious hours, June comes regularly to take her blood.

Slowly, her blood pressure stabilizes and the nausea begins to fade.

As Evelyn looks around, she realizes that the room no longer looks blurry.

“Get up.”

She turns around to see a hazmat suit free Ethan stroll into the room with a big smile on his face.

“You mean…”

“It worked. There’s no trace of toxin left in your bloodstream. Even if there are still traces in the room, we know now that we can-”

“Oh!”

Evelyn flies into Ethan's arms pulling him into a tight hug.

“…What you’re saying is I’m finally free to do this?”

“Yes. This too.”

He leans down capturing her lips in a passionate kiss as tears fall down both of their faces.

“Ethan, aren’t you worried that someone will see?”

“No. After almost losing you, I’ve decided that there are more important things to worry about than what people will think. I love you with all my heart, Evelyn Long.”

Through her tears, she smiles up at him.

“I love you too, Ethan.”

We're at AU since 504, and I'll prove it to you.

So, Riverdale is a comic.

No not like this.

RIVERDALE is a COMIC.

This is how this article began a day ago, when I tried to develop a theory about season 5 and try to explain the absurdity of everything that we have seen on the show lately. But Riverdale is really a comic, in which anything can happen, including events that take us to an alternate universe.

So, the main secret of the season 5 is not mixing ships, it's not about TBK, not about Moth Men, not about TRAUMA™. The main secret of the season 5 is: "What the hell is going on here?"

Does RAS like predictions? Jughead in 417 literally says, "In what future are we not together?" Thus, launching this universe, in which we find ourselves since 504. And there is an explanation for all this, oddly enough.

Honestly, I think that the absurdity of 518 helped me a lot. I realized that all the ship's nonsense of the season is a red herring. I calmed down, exhaled, moved a little further and looked at the whole picture.

For convenience in the future, I will call the events of the first four seasons as RD01, and season 5 since 504 as RD AU. So, everything that happened in RD01 also happened in RD AU, but in a different way. And something may not have happened at all. This is where all the inconsistencies with the plot of the first four seasons come from.

1. The writers are not lazy, they don't forget what happened 5 episodes ago. RAS simply deceived everyone by taking a very risky step. All of the plots that take place in Season 5 have a backstory that we don't know anything about. Except for certain plots that are taken out of the context of the first four seasons. But the difference is that all these plots that happened in RD01 went completely differently here in RD AU.

2. The episode of Citizen Lodge has the most direct evidence for the existence of RD AU. Because if this episode hadn't happened, it would have been hard to guess RD AU. It would be impossible to connect the dots. Citizen Lodge is the key to unlocking the mystery of Season 5 of Riverdale.

The Midnight Club takes place in 1992, but Citizen Lodge takes place in 1988. Although these are the same characters, in the same age range. But at Citizen Lodge we were shown newborn Veronica, because Hermosa never existed here. In RD01, the Lodges have a family rum business, RD AU Lodges are shoe shiners not originally living in Riverdale. The events of both episodes contradict each other, because they took place in different universes. This is not a fault of the writers, this is a deliberate hint. This whole new RD AU universe exists several years earlier than RD 01.

Small addition. In 516 it is indicated that Hermosa exists in the RD AU. But maybe she is younger than Veronica.

3. The last time a clear timeline is set is 503, when Jughead sits in Pop's a year after graduation. And when he walks out the door, he says that the next time he saw his friends was six years later. But we haven't seen that yet. Because that's where RD01 ends.

When 504 starts, nowhere is it stated how many years have passed. The first timeline is set by Veronica Lodge. "It's 2021". And this is the very first clue that we are in the middle of RD AU.

4. When Season 5 was announced, RAS said it would be a 5 year time jump. But by the start of the season, it turned into 7 years. And there is still no error. In RD01, after Bughead says goodbye on the porch, their next meeting actually happens in seven years. But we haven't seen it yet.

RD AU probably takes place five years after core four graduated from high school. And this is confirmed by Bughead's conversation in the bunker when Betty asks Jughead why he's bringing up a conflict five years ago. Which by the way does not negate the fact that voicemail happened only two years ago. Because it is the aftermath of a terrible five-year conflict that ended Bughead's relationship in RD AU. Do you seriously agree that kissing was a terrible thing to do? Probably something worse happened at RD AU.

5. On the chest of Archie RD AU there is no scar after his meeting with the bear, so this did not happen in this universe. We've been shown Archie's breasts so many times this season but we never really noticed!

6. Tom Keller and Sierra McCoy do not appear to be married in RD AU, although they literally fought the Gargoyle King for their relationship.

7. I believe that the RD AU timeline is shifted 4-5 years back relative to RD01. As confirmed by Bughead's bunker conversation and the events at Citizen Lodge. And this explains why RD AU is now in 2021, and not 2027, as it should be in RD01.

8. I watched season 5 very casually and hardly saw more than 1/3. So I need you to help me collect more evidence for the existence of RD AU. For every plot, event and conversation, you need to apply an AU theory filter. And I can promise you, every piece will find its place in the puzzle.

By the way, differences can be not only in plots and dialogues, but also physical in the appearance of characters and interiors.

I'm sure that Veronica's question to Archie, where he sees himself in five years, was also not accidental. But I no longer have the strength to develop this and build it in the context of RD AU. Especially because I don't know much about their relationship history. I trust you to figure it out.

And I wouldn't be at all surprised if Season 5 of Riverdale is still Jughead's book from RD 01, called Rivervale.

Will we get the RD AU backstory in Season 6? To be honest, I'm not sure if we need it.

Is Polly still alive in RD01?

Could Alice's hallucination at 518 be AU on AU? That is, literally being RD01 inside RD AU. Because these scenes were, it seems, the most "normal" in the whole episode. Follow up on this idea. Or we can just wait for season 6 special.

It does not matter at all which ships the RD AU will end with. It does not matter. Because season 5 and season 6 special is not about ships.

Maybe season 6 special is when RD01 and RD AU mix. Well, let's see, it's not long to wait.

Is there a chance RD AU will end on episode 100? Perhaps.

Please give this season and finale a chance. I am currently re-watching individual episodes to find confirmation of my AU theory, and now season 5 makes sense! Check it out for yourself. I'm sure there will be a TBK mystery in the final episode next week that will make my whole AU theory obvious. But I will write about this separately right after this post.

Looking back now, I think the flurry of spoilers ahead of 518 is literally when RAS went crazy. Because we're incredibly dumb and didn't want to see obvious clues in the narrative.

I will never pull this stone out alone. So, my young archaeologists, arm yourself with hammers and brooms, and help me bring this treasure to the surface completely.

I want to say THANK YOU to Bughead fandom. Because you are amazing. Because you are building theories, you are guessing, you are thinking. Because you spin every situation, you question every plot that happened on the show. And I am overwhelmed with complacency, because the uncovering of the main secret of Season 5 came from the Bughead community. After all, who else besides Bughead can uncover Riverdale's secrets?

And thanks to those who first brought up AU in Riverdale. Because only thanks to this theory, I was able to pull the thread and untangle the whole ball.

It's so liberating. It’s like someone has suddenly turned on the lights in the dark room we’ve been in since the beginning of Season 5.

loki came skulking around a corner and suggested not to go to jotunheim and not only did thor not suspect anything but he also then went on to decide to go to jotunheim. 10/10 himbo material.

“I have no plans to die today” thor says with the stupidest open-mouthed smirking smile ever captured on film. right after he also told heimdall not to tell anyone they’re gone. he’s literally planned to strand them on jotunheim. thor’s grand plan was to strange themselves on jotunheim and also start a fight. i repeat: thor’s plan was to successfully slay all the frost giants and not need to return until they’re all gone. what an absolute d*mb*ss. this is getting ridiculous. this was originally a top-ten-thor moments list but i’m not even twenty minutes in so i’ll have to extend the list. thor. thor are you listening? thor, you’re such an idiot.

thor’s stupid smile makes an appearance after he gets called a princess and decides to fight a whole realm over it. you know what? thor is a princess. he’s the prettiest princess in all the lands. what’s thor gonna do about it? is he going to fight me too? I hope he does the stupid grin first. minus 15 points for the sexism. thor is a complete and utter sadistic fool who needs to get a hobby. seriously, he’s 1500 years old and still going on and on about slaying all the frost giants. boi, i hate to break it to you, but your dad is not the best or only example of greatness out there. i don’t think your dad even qualifies as an example of that.

THIS is the iconic Thor moment that makes my day whenever I think about it. Just Thor, an absolute bumbering 6′6′’ giant boodlusting dummy sees Odin and just decides to yell “FATHAA!! WE’LL FINISH THEM TOGETHAAA!” as if the last thing Odin told him wasn’t “no, thor, we’re not going to do anything to the frost giants, do not go after them and try to kill them all.” 11/10 d*mb*assery right here folks, I couldn’t ask for Thor to be more of a fool. This is PEAK Thor energy. Look at that face. I feel like Thor spends half this movie with his nostrils flared. I love it.

okay i gotta give thor credit for rightfully calling odin “an old man and a fool” but also there was not even 1 frame of the scene where Thor had a decent face so now all i see is >:O >:| >:o >:[ when i watch that scene. yelling at odin was great, not yelling at odin after he HUAERGHed at loki was less great, but to be fair it’s thor and he is the definition of Peak D*mb*ss.

thor literally GROWLS and starts yelling “HAMMAA?? HAMMER??” over and over. He was hit by a van, he fainted, he woke up and started growling. I don’t know what else there is to say about this.

“you dare threaten me? puny human?”. so. uhh. basically. Thor knew she was threatening him? He KNEW she had a weapon? instead he made a face and started yelling as he tried to walk his way closer????? thor you complete and utter dum dum. you frickin hairball-for-brains. im not even surprised darcy tasered him. with that kind of face, i’d taser him too.

when you wake up in an unknown place to a person smiling at you without a stupid smile, the first step is always to attack first and ask questions later 😌😌😌 (but seriously thor you imbecile why didn’t you ask where you were instead of throwing multiple people around the room and getting your butt needled. you clueless buffoon. you’ll remain a clueless buffoon if you don’t listen to anyone.)

just a quick recap but thor was knocked unconscious by a van and these people kidnapped him aboard and the next scene we see him in he’s checking himself out in mirror after presumably changing right there in the open?????? these are the things that make thor thor. any other character and i’d question it so much, but this is thor, and i truly believe this is in-character for him. just change in the open because why not? thor is a beefcake and that’s his only redeeming quality and he knows it. 10/10 thor moment.

I am now convinced that Thor saw Jane and “5k van-hitter to lover slow-burn height-difference himbo-scientist trope” flashed through his mind.

“but no more smashing!” Jane says, and then Thor proceeds to check her out and smile unlike an idiot and like a douche. was this his version of flirting???? i’m not one to decide, but yes, yes it was. He threw a cup to the ground and broke it, and she’s getting mad at him and berating him about it, and he’s liking it. y’all i’m sorry to break it to you like this, but thor has a canon fetish. i am so, so sorry.

im DYING. THAT ISN’T EVEN A KISS, HIS MOUTH IS OPEN. he SMUSHES his mouth around her knuckle???? WHY. I can’t keep noticing things like this. send help. please. Jane’s response makes so much more sense now; she’s laughs for a solid 3 seconds and shakes her head and is like “uhh, thank you? ahaha,” and then she keeps looking back longingly when walking away. they are doing this in PLAIN sight of EVERYONE. Darcy and Erik are standing RIGHT THERE, and Thor is doing weird things to her with his mouth. I’m out. I am done here. goodbye.

return of the stupid smile AND the douche smile in quick succession through the entire trip. their entire dialogue is peppered with innuendo. “I’ve never done anything like this before. have you ever done anything like this before?” “many times, but you are brave to do it.” “I have nothing else to lose.” “ah but you are clever, far more clever than anyone else on this realm.” “realm? rEaLm?” “you think me strange?” “yes” “good strange or bad strange?” “I haven’t decided yet.” I AM DYING OVER THIS. plus, we get Return Of The Himbo with Jane asking after Einstein Rosen bridges and Thor is like “uh, actually, more like a rainbow bridge 😜🤪” i feel so sorry for jane here, didn’t know how much of a d*mb*ss Thor was when signing up for this van-trip and knuckle-sucking 😭😭😭 i also no longer have questions about how the trip that SHOULD HAVE BEEN A HALF-HOUR ONE turned into one that LASTED TILL THE SUN WENT FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE SKY TO SETTING by the time they arrived. I have no questions. please. I don’t want to know what they were doing in that van. please no. don’t make me think about it.

thor’s plan had 3 steps and they were 1. give jane his jacket 2. walk in and get his hammer 3. fly out. that was literally his plan. he had the first “I have a plan. attack.” moment in the MCU. pure concentrated 0-brain-cells energy right here. how can you not stan this king of d*mb*ssery. look at him, flaunting his big boy muscles. he’s about get his hammer and fly out, like he just told jane with a trademark stupid-smile.

crop-top hair-mop thor is my favourite thor. the way the entire fight scene parallels a hamster in a maze only exemplifies the thor vibes for some inexplicable reason.

“you’re big. fought bigger.” + Thor douche-smile + subtext from earlier + rolling around passionately in the mud = not a happy me.

I swear i’m not making up this romantic subtext but it’s barely even subtext. the entire scene leading up to Thor’s attempt at lifting the hammer is actually filmed erotically. I’m not kidding. First there’s a shot where Thor pulls aside a hamster-cage-wall blind which mirrors a shower-curtain, and THEN he walks around the hammer while smiling douche-ly at it, we get a few close-ups to his face which are shot from angles slightly lower than himself, giving him an aire of superiority, plus the music adds to this, he reaches out for the hammer’s handle with a mud-covered arm in the rain, in non-slow-motion slow-motion, and he wraps his arm around it, like, he fully twists his arm, unecessarily sexually, around it as he grabs the hammer. This is not okay. On the plus side, it makes the movie much more entertaining,, on the down side,,.

im not going to call Thor dumb for not knowing he’s not worthy. im not going to. because odin literally whispered the enchantment to mjolnir after he’d thrown thor to midgard. it is very funny watching thor grunt in frustration though. he starts yelling because he couldn’t lift the hammer and just lets himself get caught. like, dude, get a life, go buy a new weapon from the store, seriously. he mourns for the hammer on-screen longer than he does for loki. he also looks like he’s in far more pain here. he becomes catatonic and unresponsive after this, but when loki dies he’s already feasting the same afternoon. 10/10 dum dum thor material. never change thor, never change. (that’s code for please change, thor, please,)

thor trying to establish dominance wherever he goes is the funniest thing because at this point he’s being a complete asgardian *ss about it and it’s reaching points of pettiness never seen before. side note: he is possibly flirting with selvig too. maybe. i’m not saying anything happened, but Thor’s openning lines when bringing him home carried over his shoulder are “he’s fine, not injured at all,” followed with an apology to selvig, and an explanation to jane which consisted only of “we drank, we fought, he made his ancestors proud,” and then he puts the man to bed and before he falls asleep erik says “i still don’t believe you’re the g*d of th*nder, but you ought to be,” so... your choice, i guess...

thor’s got his trademark stupid smile and stupidly takes jane’s life’s work notebook and starts doodling in it about trees. the last time his father told him this story about Yggdrasil was when he was 5 and he clearly hasn’t payed attention to any lesson about anything since and it shows so so much. thank you thor. very insightful knowledge you’re passing on hear. ‘i come from a world where [science and magic] are one and the same,’ ok great, now elaborate on that please. oh, right, you can’t because you’re thor, my bad, 20/10 thor behaviour. he couldn’t even doodle nicely. all his lines are wobbly. epic art fail. i wouldn’t trust him near my sketchbook with a 2B pencil.

THIS is thor’s realization face. in case anyone was interested in what ‘dawning truth’ looked like on him. 😰😪 THIS is the face of a thinker, of a man betrayed by his own beloved brother for unprecedented reasons. look at the nuance in his expression. 😩😩😩 so many emotions, I can’t even count them all 😩💯😪

stupid smile and “do not worry my friends, i have a plan,” he says, “i’ll just try and abuse the fact that Loki’s super selfless and kind and has no self worth to my benefit as i have countless times before which is exactly what he’s rightfully angry about this time,” he doesn’t think to himself because that is NOT the smile of someone who is thinking... like, at all. +10000 points to gryffinthor. the d*mb*ssery really jumps out.

“im sorry bro for whatever i did and whatever you’re blaming me for as an excuse to do this, im sorry bro, but you’re disturbing innocents that i don’t really care about but you’re the one making a scene in front of them so why don’t you admit you won’t kill me and are just having a temper tantrum and we move on? hmm?” and then he proceeds to get slam dunked in the face with a metal arm like yEAAAA BOI that’s what you GET for going up against the SENTIENT LAVA-SPEWING metal-man ya absolute dunderhead clod. thunderhead clod? yeah, that. he’s just so dumb, your honour, please, you must understand, the victim pleads guilty on all charges of d*mb*ss and d*mb*ss alone.

I can NOT describe the emotions I feel knowing that Thor is suck-kissing Jane’s knuckles. Like, his mouth is literally jelly-ing it up against her hand. There is suction there and it shows when he is placing and removing his mouth. I promise that’s what is happening. I’m not any happier than you about this. I regret everything. This is why Loki should be what is focused on and not Thor; Thor’s going around trying to frick frack everything in sight even if it’s just Jane’s hand. He’s maintaining eye contact with Jane while he licks her fingers. Why did I decide to rewatch this movie.

i’m only adding this in as a thor moment because of how desperately and badly they kiss. seriously. 2/10 kiss. im not surprised jane broke up with him. they look like two actual seals fighting over an actual grape. while i’m here i’m going to criticize every fic ever that decided thor is an experienced gentle lover. what were y’all on when watching this movie. thor can and will f*ck literally everything in sight and he won’t even do it well because he is the peakest of peak d*m d*m. look at this man. look at his face. that is the face of an absolute himbo idiot, and it’s the face of an absolute himbo idiot who knows it. he’s been stranded on earth for 2 days, max, and his flirt-count is at 69 people because his name is one letter away from thot. i bet his terrible use of a pen from early means he writes his ‘r’s like ‘t’s and he doesn’t even care. 1000/10 thor moment. doesn’t get much more romance-thor than two individuals smooshing their faces together after some finger sucking. that finger sucking is gonna leave jane simping for years. and that’s true love babey. <3

“I’ll handle my Brother!” Thor says, as if Loki didn’t send a metal-murder-bot that quite virtually killed him less than ten minutes ago asdfhkhsdgsdjf Thor, you horrific himbo you, Loki’s weapon of choice is literally throwing knives he will literally kill you before you enter the room if he’s on his game and wants you dead which he just proved he would do and you’re just gonna???????????? jog on over to him????? Thor??????????? bruH???????????? buddy??????? pal???????? you really wanna go 1v1 the brother you very clearly underestimate and know nothing about????????????????? im loving the confidence, but, no.

Loki: “you literally can’t stop this from here.” Thor, immediately: “i’m going to hit it with the hammer and see if that works” and then it does in fact work later... technically speaking, even if it ends up causing chaos destruction and death and loki falling off the bifrost 😔😔😔 but Big Brain Thor is the Biggest Brained Thor!!! The plan worked!! in a messy-Thor-ish way, but it did!!!

“you can’t kill an entire race!!!!” Thor yells, teeth gritted, as he faces his brother, his coward pacifist brother, who has suddenly decided he wants to join the age-old family tradition of realm-destroying, when this is supposed to be Thor’s dream, Thor’s, not Loki’s. How dare he, Thor thinks to himself, fist clenched around Mjolnir in anger, the pain of the handle pressing against his palm perhaps the only thing preventing him from lashing out at this thought, that’s my planet of monsters to slay, he should go get his own! Loki hits Thor across the face with the back-end of his spear. “Now fight me,” Loki says, but Thor, well, Thor cannot fight, as he remains stunned that of all things Loki would dare steal his life’s ambition, and he is sent sprawling backwards across the observatory, slowly but surely sliding to a stop despite his catatonic, very symbolic silence.

the elegance, the poise, i see your time on earth has made you no less graceful, Thor. the simple magnitude of this sprawl. the spread of the arms. the turn of the feet. this is not a dude, this is a man.

sometimes your brother starts vehemently talking about he’s gonna kill the race of monsters and about how he’s only ever wanted to be your equal and about how he’s not your brother and never was and sometimes you just have to say “this is madness” instead of addressing the issues or asking for any of the deets 🔥 👊💯😩

Loki is whipping Thor’s butt. Both literally, and metaphorically, Loki is whooping Thor’s d*mb*ss. Earlier he knicked Thor’s face, now he’s just pushing Thor around, he uses the spear as a pole and later kicks Thor’s face by kicking vertically up, and Thor, bless him in all his blond golden muscled glory, doesn’t think anything is up with this, gosh he’s such an absolute utter idiot

sometimes your brother laughs way too much and also cries too much in a fight and there are also too many of him so you just need to blast lightning so you get a shot at all of them 😌😌😌 and then put your magical infinitely-heavy hammer on his chest 😌😌😌 but it’s okay because Thor left holes in Loki’s container 😌😌😌
