Stories That Are Told
Pairing: Tarrant “Hatter” Hightopp x Reader
Pronouns: She/Her
Word Count: 2.2k
Summary: (Y/n)’s so used to being the background character in everyone’s story that she forget she can be the main character in her own.
Warnings: Slight angst but majority fluff!
A/N: I love this man with my whole being omg pls
Stumbling into Wonderland with Alice had been a wonderful thing for not only Alice, but (Y/n) as well. For Alice it was an escape from all the things she didn’t wanna do and would never wanna do. She wasn’t forced to marry some sod of a guy who’d make her miserable for the rest of her life or to be the proper lady she was expected to be, but instead she got a taste of freedom. And although it was an escape for (Y/n) as well, it was an escape of a different kind.
In the other world, with it’s dreary skies and monotonous patterns and cycles, (Y/n) lived a very humdrum life. Her family had never been as fortunate as Alice in any ways of the sorts, it was a miracle that they were friends to begin with. Alice’s father had been friends with (Y/n)’s since boyhood and because of that, he always made sure they knew they were welcome to anything of his that they wished. And while (Y/n)’s father had never taken advantage of that from the way Alice’s mother treated (Y/n) and her family, it wouldn’t be hard to think otherwise.
When Charles was still around, she hadn’t done anything out of line. The older woman always kept to herself, occasionally having an afternoon cup of tea with her own mom. However, her true colors and feelings came to light after the passing of her husband. During the next few months after her husband’s absence, the (L/n)s were there for Kingsleighs. Although they didn’t have the funds to help them monetarily (for they also didn’t need it), they offered their labor and services to the two as much as they needed. Farm work, house cleaning, garden maintenance. Anything you could think they had done. But as soon as Helen was well (as well as you could be after losing someone so dear) , she had forbid them from coming to their property. She didn’t believe her and Alice should associate with people of “such low stature” because it didn’t “align with their image”. But that had never stopped Alice.
Anywhere Alice went, (Y/n) was always there by her side right along with her. They practically went everywhere together and that hadn’t changed since they arrived in Wonderland. (Y/n) was grateful that she had chased after her friend. It was like she knew something would happen. Afterall, crazy things always happen when you put two curious girls together for more than a moment. The friends they had made since they arrived were nothing short of lovely. She knew her sister would describe them as odd characters and disturbing individuals. Telling her to stay far away from them and to not associate herself with those types. But what was wrong with being odd or even disturbing? The only things worth doing in life were a bit odd and disturbing and if that made her peculiar than so be it.
For the first time in her life, she felt as though she belonged. Sure, it wasn’t her story nor her destiny to be here as it was Alice but that did not mean she did not appreciate Wonderland for what it was. The story had never been her story, not here, and certainly not where they were from. Alice was the main chat and she was the topic that would get trickled in after.
“Everyone has a part to play, (Y/n). Even if it is not large or as set in stone, each person’s role is necessary for the story to progress, even yours. You’ll see.” the words of that tricky caterpillar replayed in her head over and over again whenever she had a moment to think. What had he meant by that? Was her story not more than to be here in support of her dearest friend and the latest edition to their friends? Was she not just a tool in the scheme of things? (Y/n) had never known people of lesser importance as herself to contribute much of anything big to a legacy as large as Alice’s!
From her end of the table, she watched as Hatter threw his hat high into the air before it landed on his head causing everyone to erupt in a jostled mess of laughter and cheering. She smiled fondly from a far. Tarrant was a kind man. No matter what was going on or where they were, he always had a way of making her feel included. That’s just who he was. He had known what it was like to feel excluded from things and the last thing he’d wanna do is be the cause of that for someone else. But it was nothing more than his nature, that’s it.
“You know, you should just tell him how you feel.” a velvety voice sounded from beside her ear causing her to jump. The (h/c) haired girl glared at the purple cat, reaching a hand to swat him away but he disappeared once more before appearing on her other side. “He watches you often, even when there is not many around to see. But I always do of course.” The Cheshire cat said in a sure tell tone. The girl scoffed at him, shoving another small pastry into her mouth.
“I’m not in the mood for one of your jokes today, cat. So if you’ve come to mock my feelings during my 2nd to last day in Wonderland, I wish you well and send you off.” she huffed out, crossing her arms across her chest, turning her gaze away from him back to Tarrant who was already looking at her. The Hatter gave her a secret wink and a smile before turning back to the March Hare who seemed rather frazzled about something. Or perhaps excited. But once again, the grinning cat appeared in front of her face once more.
“Silly girl, you ignore the plain truth in front of you? I can see why you and Alice get along so well, both of you can be quite foolish. Oh well, the story isn’t over yet after all.” and with that he was gone. What did he mean by that? The story was clearly over. Alice had done what she set out to do. The Jabberwocky had been slain, the White Queen ruled once again, and all had been made well. And what was with everyone with stories? Not everything you can do will always be a story and not every story comes to an end. She decided not to dwell much on it. This was her last night she’d ever spend in Wonderland and she’d rather like to keep it in good memory.
So when the White Queen offered her a hand to dance she took it, their dresses swaying in the wind in oppositional unison. They all danced with one another, twirling, laughing, and having a grand time. The entire time the smile never once left (Y/n)’s face which a certain hatted man enjoyed with all his being.
--------------------------------------------
“I can’t believe you’re leaving today. It seems as if it was only yesterday when you arrived.” the girl swiveled around to see the red head there, a bittersweet smile on his face. His smile grew once she turned to face him. Removing his hat, he bowed as he grabbed one of her hands placing a delicate kiss to the top of it. “I am delighted to have known a woman as graceful as you.” hot tears sprung into her eyes which she quickly got rid of before he stood up. Giggling some she hopped onto the large sit swing, motioning for him to join her.
“Don’t get sad yet, Hatter. I’ve still got a few hours left. You can’t rid of me that easily.” he joined her on the swing, a wide grin still on his face. Although it was partly real, she could tell there was some sadness lingering behind it. (Y/n) turned her gaze to the sight in front of them. From the large benched swing, you could see just about all of wonderland over the edge of the cliff. “Besides, there’s not much to miss. I’m just me.”
“And ‘just you’ is a lot! I’ll miss everything about you. The way you mimic the bird calls you hear, the way you get excited when the rock you skipped across the water goes further than you imagined,” she looked at him in shock as he continued to speak, “E-even the smaller things like how you leave the crust of your sandwich for last and give your crumbs to the ants. But I think more importantly I’ll...I’ll just miss your presence.” he said the last part softly, staring off the edge of the cliff to avoid her gaze. A million thoughts raced through her heads as he spoke. Could it really be? Could he really share the same feelings as she did? (Y/n) reached a shaky (s/c) hand to lay on top of Hatter’s pale one, intertwining their fingers.
“Hatter, I've got something to tell you. During my time here in Wonderland, I’ve enjoyed every second I’ve had with everyone. But more importantly, I’ve enjoyed my time so much with you and I believe it’s only fair to share with you that my feelings I have for you go beyond those of normal friendship. I guess you can say I’ve grown...quite mad for you.” his head whipped to face her as he stared into her eyes, tears welling within his own. He flashed her another smile except this one was genuine, filled with the love and warmth he had shown her the entirety of her time in Wonderland.
“(Y/n)! Alice sent me to fetch you. I’m afraid it’s time for the two of you to head back.”
-----------------------------
After a lot of shedded tears, heartfelt speeches, and goodbyes that were nothing short of wholesome, it was time for the two to head home. Alice patted (Y/n)’s shoulder before holding her arm out for her to grab. As they neared the portal, (Y/n) turned around once more to stare at her friends but when she got to Tarrant, her heart began to break. The gaze they held with one another was long until she simply couldn’t take it. Without thinking she ran up to him once more, grabbing his shoulders tightly.
“Hatter, Tarrant, I need to know how you feel. I couldn’t live with myself if I left and never knew.” he shook his head, looking away from her as he tried to stop the waterworks that were withheld behind the dam. Hot tears streamed down the delicate skin of the girl’s face. “Hatter...please.” her voice was broken as she begged.
“I believe I wasn’t honest myself either. I am completely enamored by you, my dear. I wish I had said something sooner but even though I couldn’t, I’ll always hold a special place for you in here.” he said, placing a hand over his heart. Standing on the tips of her toes, she leaned forward placing a quick peck to his cheek.
“What if it isn’t too late? What if I stayed?” she started, watching as he shook his head, “Hatter listen! You may think I’d regret if I stay but I think I would regret even more not following my heart the first time it’s ever tried to tell me something. Nothing would make me happier than staying here with you...that is if you’d allow it.” a silence fell over as everyone awaited his answer. Without another thought Hatter leaned down, pressing his lips to hers. The kiss was soft and sweet. Filled with a silent promise, a silent vow to care for her as deeply as his heart will allow.
“I do not know what I did to get so lucky, but I would do it again if needed.” she felt herself grow flustered at his words. A quick peck was placed on his lips before walking over to Alice once again. The blonde had tears of her own in her eyes. She was glad her friend had found something to fight for, something to call her own. But also for the first time in many years, they would not see each other everyday as they once did. They both stared at each other before throwing themselves into each other's arms, laughing in unison as bittersweet tears fell.
“Good luck. Make sure you put your foot down. You’re Alice! You listen to no one and march to no one’s drum but your own.” Alice gave her a curt nod.
“Take care. We’ll meet again, do not doubt it.”
Although Alice’s story had seemingly come to an end, it seemed as though (Y/n)’s story was just beginning. For once she wasn’t the side character in someone’s tale, but the main character in her own.

Your Lois Lane’s son and you become a Star Sapphire because you have crush on Kyle Rayner…
Kyle Rayner x Male Reader
Warnings: None
Summary: You have a crush on your bff Kyle, so the Star Sapphires decide to weaponize it to help get rid off their enemies.
(A/N 1: I’m gonna slightly base this of Superman the animated series, because then Kyle works at the daily planet and that makes everything easier for me.)
(A/N 2: Star Sapphire/Carol Ferris is also one of my underrated faves.)
——
You opened your eyes that morning expecting to follow your usual daily routine, eat breakfast, go to work, work, eat lunch, get back to work, go home, have dinner with the family and go to bed.
But little did you know that all that would be thrown out the window after the first step.
You went into the kitchen where your mother was cooking breakfast and she handed you a plate off eggs, toast and bacon. You thanked her and walked towards the table where your step-father Clark and your little brother Jon were sitting and eating.
You ruffled Jon’s hair as you walked past him and sat down next to him. You saw that he was eating his food as if he were wild animal. ”Jon, calm down you’re not a savage” you commented and Jon calmed his eating a little bit.
After you finished your breakfast you went into your room to get dressed for work. While you were there your mother, Clark and Jon left, since they needed to drive Jon to school before they went to work.
When you left your room you saw that your mom and Clark had forgotten their bagged lunch so you picked them up and decided to stop at the daily planet on your way to work.
You left the apartment building and got in to your car and started your drive towards the daily planet.
You stopped outside the tall building, got out of your car and walked inside. You found an elevator and stepped inside and you pushed the button that would take you to your mother’s floor.
But you heard someone yelling ”Hold the elevator”, so you pushed the button to open the door again and then Kyle Rayner aka your bff aka the man you were head over heels in love with, came running so fast that he hit the elevator wall.
”What did i tell you about running in to walls, Kyle?” You asked cheekily.
”Don’t do it” he answered while holding his forehead.
”But did you listen to me? No” you said.
”Whatever… By the way are you going to Jane’s party with anyone?” He asked.
”No, not really, are you?” You asked in return.
”Yeah, i’m going with you” Kyle joked making you roll your eyes. ”Who knows the night might end in some pAssIOnaTE making out?” Kyle continued.
He didn’t know but his joke made you die a little inside, since you wanted it to actually be like that, but you knew that Kyle wasn’t in to you romantically.
The elevator door then opened at your mother’s floor and you exited the elevator and said a quick goodby to Kyle as the doors once again closed.
You found your mother’s desk and gave her her’s and Clark’s lunch, she thanked you and you left once again.
While you were riding the elevator down but your mind couldn’t help but wander to thinking about Kyle, he was so kind and creative, he makes you feel safe and happy.
All of a sudden the elevator came to a halt and the lights shut down.
”Great, now i’m stuck in an elevator AND hopelessly in love with my best friend, just my luck” you thought to yourself, you were about to pick up your phone and call your boss to tell her you would probably be late.
But all of a sudden there was a glowing light in front of you, you covered your eyes from the sudden strong glow.
Then you looked at the source and saw a glowing violet six pointed star. All of a sudden a voice spoke up from no where.
”We know what you want Y/n Lane, you want the one you love and we the Star Sapphires can give you the power to take that love” a hypnotic voice said, from what Clark had taught you, you know you shouldn’t trust things like this.
Then all of a sudden a ring floated out from inside the six pointed star. ”All you have to do is do something for us, destroy the Green Lantern” the hypnotic voice said adding a bit more psychopath vibes.
You tried to back away from the ring but it was like you weren’t in control of your own body cause all off a sudden you arm started reaching out towards it.
The ring then floated on to your finger and the voice said ”Now repeat after me”. It started by saying one sentence and as if the words were being dragged out of your throat you said along with it ”For hearts long lost and full of fright, for those alone in blackest night, accept our ring and join our fight, love conquers all with violet light!”
Then all of a sudden you had no control at all and a violet light spread over your body.
Kyle was sitting and having a cup of coffee, he couldn’t get you out of his head, he hadn’t really been joking when he said he was taking you as his date for the party. He actually really wanted to ask you out but if you said no he didn’t want it to be weird between you, so he asked it in more of a joking manner to make it more lighthearted.
He was about to go and get back to work but then he heard chattering from the others, they were staring at something down on the street.
He went over to the window and saw a violet lantern down on the street which could only mean trouble, Kyle ran to find somewhere to change in to the Green Lantern.
Meanwhile you were down on the street causing mayhem. The ring had basically taken full control of your body and was now throwing one of the parked cars towards the people on the sidewalk who were trying to run away from you.
The people managed to get away but you were fine with that, you were trying to bait out the Green Lantern.
Then you heard a familiar whoosing sound and you turned around. Clark was flying towards you all suited up. He was inches away from punching you in the face but when he saw you he had a moment of realization and stopped himself.
”Y/n?” he asked confused and before he could do anything else you used the ring to trap him inside a giant violet crystal. You then continued your rampage.
Kyle now stood on top of the daily planet and watched the star sapphire blast a violet beam towards a car. He then flew down to get a closer look off his opponent.
Kyle then realised who the Star Sapphire was, ”Y/n” he asked himself, he was shocked at seeing you like this, not only because you were a destructive crazy person but also because the suit you were wearing made you look really fucking hot.
You picked up a car with people inside it and threw it out over the street but before it touched the ground it was caught by a green light.
Green Lantern had caught the car and put it down. As soon as you saw the man clad in green the ring told you to do one thing ”Kill him”.
You aimed your ring towards him and shot a violet beam towards him. He created a green bubble around himself that protected him.
Your battle continued to rage on, but it was noticable that Kyle was holding back slightly trying to avoid harming you. He was trying to think of a plan, he was also generally confused about the fact that you had turned into Star Sapphire.
After all the emotion of the violet lanterns were love, so maybe he had something to do with this. Well there was only one way to find out and it was the only plan he had.
He flew towards you dodging your different attacks and when he got to you he grabbed you around the waist and pushed his lips against yours.
He was glad that you didn’t pull back because that meant his plan worked. His hand slid down to your ringed finger and pulled the ring off.
Your suit the disappeared and it was replaced with your normal clothing. You then passed out.
Kyle kept a hold of you and brought you down to a rooftop. He then used his ring to free Superman from the violet crystal.
He walked back to you as you were starting to wake up. You looked at the Green Lantern and realised you were outside and on a rooftop.
”Green Lantern?” you asked ”Where am i? What happened?” you continued and Kyle made an impulsive decision. He made his super-suit disappeared and revealed his identity to you. After your initial shock about his identity he told you about what had happened and ensured you everyone were fine. Kyle then made another impulsive decision…
”Y/n, would you like to go on a date with me?”
”Of course” you answered happily.
Instead of your date being at the party you were suppose to go to you and Kyle decided to have a relaxing night at your place.
Clark had taken Lois and Jon out to some resturant so that you and Kyle could get some privacy.
You and Kyle were cuddling on the couch while watching the news about Green Lantern stopping a villain by kissing him.

Pairing(s) : Goshiki x reader , Shirabu x reader , Aged up!Oikawa x reader
Word Count : 1.26k
Warning(s) : She/her pronouns used , mention of suicide , drowning , pain signs (??)
Masterlist Link : Here
Goshiki : You’re going to ace this test!
[Name] : You think that because you love me, and love has made you dumb.
Goshiki : I disagree, if anything, love has made me smarter. Remember last week when I boiled that egg?
[Name] : That was big. I was really proud of you.
Yamamoto : She doesn’t like me.
[Name] : So she doesn’t like you. It happens. I mean, not to me, but not everyone has my combination of elegance and charm and grace and poise, and then just gif-ability. Some would say “jif,” but then again some people would also say “ant” instead of aunt.
*On the phone with Shirabu*
Shirabu : *Groaning*, This is the last thing I need!
[Name] : Okay, so sorry about all of this, I didn’t mean to cause you trouble!
Shirabu : ...
[Name] : Oh, also one more thing. I love you.
Shirabu : *Unimpressed silence*, ... I love you too, [Name].
Part 1/2
Kita : We have ta reduce energy usage by 15%. That means no more laminatin’, Aran.
Aran : Oh, that’s fine. It’s not the thing that gives me the most pleasure in life. Interactin’ with others... that’s what gets me going.
Kita : Atsumu, Osamu, lose the chocolate fountain.
Atsumu : What are we supposed ta dip our strawberries in? Our nacho cheese fountain? That’s crazy. Unless...
*Osamu grabs a strawberry and dunks it in the cheese fountain*
Osamu : *Eating the strawberry* ... Kita, ya beautiful bastard.
Kita : Get rid of ‘em. And [Name], ya can’t run that space heater 24/7 anymore.
[Name] : Space heater? Excuse me, this is a Fornax Radiant Comfort System, and her name is Jacinta.
Kita : Okay, well Jacinta has ta go.
[Name], to the space heater : He doesn’t mean that, darling.
Kita : Seriously, turn off the space heater.
[Name] : No.
Kita : Do it, now. It’s an order.
[Name] : Yeah, well, you don’t wanna start a battle of the wills with [Surname] [Name] because you will emerge from that battle a broken man. Not to brag, but I was name-checked in my kindergarten teacher’s suicide note.
Kita : Oh, ma god.
Part 2/2
Kita : Thanks for hand-laminatin’, Aran.
Aran : Of course, if ya ask me, savin’ energy is trendin’.
Kita : [Name], did ya shut off yer space heater yet?
[Name] : Space heater?... Doesn’t ring a bell.
Kita : Jacinta...
[Name] : Oh, no. She’s still going strong.
Kita : A will take that thing away from ya by force, if necessary.
*Manager stands up, revealing 1850’s dress*
[Name] : Well, come and get it!
Kita : Seriously? The heater’s underneath yer skirt?
[Name] : Maybe. You can’t prove that.
Kita : Yeah, a can. There’s a cord runnin’ under it, and I think ya may be on fire.
*Smoke starts coming from underneath the dress*
[Name] : Mhmm... so?
Kita : What do ya mean “so”?!
[Name] : I’m not giving Jacinta up.
Kita : Ya are on fire, [Name]. Ya don’t have the upper hand in this situation.
[Name] : I always have the upper hand.
Kita : Not when there’s flames shootin’ outta yer butt!
[Name] : Especially when there’s flames shootin’ outta ma butt!
*Manager and Kita staring each other down whilst the smoke detector starts going off*
Kita : Damn it! *Grabs fire extinguisher and puts the fire out from the skirt*. How the hell did a lose to that one?
Part 1/5
*The Inarizaki VBC getting shut down soon*
[Name] : Rin, you seem pretty happy. Did you not like volleyball?
Suna : I do, I just am devoting my energy to a new project, Sunazon. It’s a one-stop online portal for my legions of followers. Speaking of whom, *Starts filming on phone*, what’s up, Rin-Hive? It’s your boy, Rin. I’m bored at practice, so I’m gonna prank all my teammates.
[Name] : ... That sounds like a bad idea for an already crappy day.
Suna : Fine, man. I won’t do it. *Walks away*, I will do it, so you can count this as my first prank I guess, unofficially.
Part 2/5
Suna : Hey, Aran, want a cup of coffee? They made an extra one on accident.
Aran : Oh, sure. Thank you, *Drinks the cup and immediately spits it out*. Oh, ma god. What is that?!
Suna : Cement! You just drank cement! Guys, check back in to see if he dies. Ugh! *Choking and gestures death hand signals, stopping the video afterwards*. You’re not really gonna die, probably, okay? Just a little honey for the Rin-Hive.
Part 3/5
[Name] : Whoo! We can save the club, this is amazing news! *Drinks out of cup and spits it out*.
Suna : *Filming the whole thing*, ah, you just drank cement~ You just drank cement~
Part 4/5
Suna : Oh, Gin, you look so sad. You know what would cheer you up? A nice bowl of miso soup.
Ginjima : No thanks, Suna. I’m not in the mood.
Osamu : So, Suna, is the soup up for grabs?
Suna : ‘Samu, no. My followers are sick of watching you eat cement.
Part 5/5
Coach Kurosu : We’d like ta thank Suna. Apparently, the community came to our aid. There was a swell of online support orchestrated by an organization called “Suna-Zone.”
Suna : *Poping from behind a counter*, I think you mean Sunazon. I was behind the counter the whole time. Another great Suna Rintaro entrance.
Atsumu : That’s amazin’! What did ya do?!
Suna : I was live streaming whilst all of you were talking about the club. I guess people were moved. They were like, “What can we do to help?” And I said, “Call the school principal.”
[Name] : The Rin-Hive is real!
Atsumu : A can’t believe ya did it. Suna, yer a legend! Ta Inarizaki Volleyball Club!
Inarizaki VBC : Ta Inarizaki Volleyball Club! *All drink juice, then they groan*.
Kita : What is in this?
Suna : *Filming*, You all just drank cement!
[Name] : Guys, guys, guys, check it out. Tendou fell asleep in the supply room, so I put his hand in a bowl of warm water.
Shirabu : Come on. That’s the stupidest prank ever.
[Name] : Uh, no. It’s the smartest; it involves biology. I bet it worked all ready. Let’s go check!
*At the supply room*
[Name] : Tendou, no!
Goshiki : He’s drowning, he’s drowning!
Semi : Save him, man!
*Reon grabs Tendou’s shoulders and forces them to sit up straight*
Tendou : *Gasping air desperately*.
Shirabu : I take it back, [Name]. Great prank.
Coach Nekomata : Please don’t do anything to jeopardize this. Understood?
Nekoma VBC : *Murmurs of acknowledgment*.
Coach Nekomata : Dismissed, *Leaves the room*.
Lev : That’s a big ‘ole bummer!
[Name] : All right, everybody, just relax. We’re still going to have a great time. If there’s one thing I know, it’s how to sneak out to a party without your parents finding out. I used to do it all the time!
Nekoma VBC : *Unimpressed silence*.
[Name] : Well, I did it a few times.
Yaku : Mhmm...
[Name] : Once to go to a Magic : the Gathering tournament. I got stuck in the window like Winnie the Pooh. There, okay? Now you know everything.
Kuroo : Continue.
[Name] : My mom had to pull me back in by my ponytail... All right, let’s party!
*Aged up*
Oikawa : Check whatever this is out! It’s called The Wasp. It’s for dispersing crowds of young people. It emits a sound that you can only hear if you are 25 or younger. *Turns the device on*.
Takeru : *High pitched screaming in agony*.
*[Name] and Oikawa looking at each other confused, following in Takeru’s screams*
Oikawa : I also hate the sound— that I definitely hear!
[Name] : Me too! It’s so high pitched or low pitched. Oh, that was bogus to the extreme.
Oikawa : So bogus and not tubular. My ears are ringing from the pain of being young.
[Name] : Ugh, so not gnarly.

Genre : Angst,fluff,smut,King Jungkook

this is my first fanfic pls be nice to me🥺 also let me know if i made any mistakes.
next
Growing up poor was never easy. ever since my siblings and I were younger our mom tried everything to provide a good life for us. Her being a single mom of 3 children and having to work all the time was rough. Nonetheless our mom made sure we had a good childhood. As i grew older i started noticing how hard our mom worked for us. I wanted to start working too so our mom could get a little rest. So I started working at small bakery in our small village even tho I didn’t really liked it there.
My two older brother’s were already married and had a family of their own and had long since moved out. My mom wanted me to get married really bad. She kept on looking for a potential husband for me, but none of them would ever chose me to as their wife. And i was honestly happy about that. The idea of marrying some stranger and leaving my mom behind wasn’t something that I wanted to do. But I knew I had to get married eventually.
There were some news going around that a new mysterious King was looking for a wife. flyers have been passed around for a "potential wife competition“ here and there, who would even attend such a thing? anyway, that’s all that was being talked about in the village young girls being excited for potentially marrying a King and becoming his wife. I honestly felt bad for them. Why would a King even marry a poor girl when he could marry a girl that came from a more wealthier family?
A few days have passed and the day for the competition was becoming nearer and nearer. As i was walking home from the small Bakery that I work at with some baked goods for my mom and I, I could see every mom going crazy for the upcoming day, every mom made sure that their daughter looked the absolute best. In hopes that the King takes interest in one of these girls. As i reached home my mom greeted me with a hug. „how was work?“ she asked „good i brought something to eat“ i said as i handed her the basket i was holding with a smile on my face. She took them and put them on a plate for us to eat. „so have you heard the news?“ she asked „what do you mean? What news?“ I asked her with a confused look on my face „you know what news“ she said while sipping on her tea. „The King is looking for a wife.... and I was wondering since you’re still not married and probably won’t be for a while why don’t you.... participate in the competition?“ she looked at me with a hopeful look on her face „Mom no. I don’t want to participate in such a thing.“ i said while munching on my croissant. „You know Y/n I don’t think it would be a such bad thing, both of your brothers are already married and have a family of their own, don’t you want the same thing?“ she asked. Well, i do want a family... but i want to find my Partner naturally not at a competition with thousands of other girls.
„I don’t even know what he looks like mom for all we know, he could be some old disgusting looking guy that has a fetish for younger girls“ I said with a look of disgust on my face. „Well, yeah, your right“ she said. „But he could also be some good looking guy but if you don’t participate, we’ll never know...“ she said while finishing her cup of tea. Okay maybe she’s right and it won’t be such a bad thing... participating won’t hurt right? Because my mom was right it’s time for me to get married. „ I‘ll think about it okay? Im gonna go head to bed now tho i’m really tired. goodnight mom.“ I said while giving her a kiss on her cheek. „thank you sweetheart.“ I heard her saying as i was walking to my room.
The day of the competition came sooner than i thought it would. My mom kept on bugging me to say yes so I eventually agreed to attending the competition. Ever since then my mom made sure i looked my absolute best. She bought me a long white nice looking dress, made sure that my hair always looked shiny and healthy. And i honestly felt so pretty my dress hugged my figure so nicely and my hair looked so beautiful all thanks to my mom. „You look so beautiful y/n i’ll miss you so much“ she said with tears in her eyes, as if i won’t come back home with her later tonight. „Relax mom it’s not like i’m getting married or something.“ I said while giggling. „Well you might“ she said with a big smile on her face. „I won’t.“ I said while rolling my eyes but she just looked at me with that smile still on her face. „Come on we don’t wanna be late“ she said while grabbing my hand, and leading me to where the competition was gonna be held.
Almost an hour later my mom and I arrived at this huge building. It was one of the biggest building i have ever seen. There were so many pretty flowers surrounding it, I was in awe at the sight that was in front of me. As i was looking around i noticed all the other girls and started feeling a little self conscious... they all looked so pretty with their colorful dresses while I was here wearing a boring white dress. How would I even stand out among all these girls? I doubt the King would even look at me.
An old Man with a smile on his face started approaching us „good evening ladies you all look beautiful i must say.“ He said with a big smile on his face. „ I know the weather is beautiful today but the King would rather have all you girls inside“ he said, while stretching his arm out pointing to the building. „let’s go ladies“ he started walking towards the entrance and we all followed him.
The room itself where the competition was being held wasn’t that big as I thought. But the old man told us it’s because, the King wanted to get a close look at us. So, he chose a smaller room so he could look at all of us more closely. ...I was so nervous my hands were trembling and i kept picking at my nails a habit of mine that i never got rid of. Even tho my mom told me stop many times. All the other girls seemed to be not as nervous as I was. They were all taking to each other, except for me I stayed by myself sat at a table. I didn’t feel like talking, I was way too shy to approach any of them anyway.
30 minutes later the King arrived. The doors to the room have opened, and the King and the older man from earlier started walking inside. There were gasps coming from all the girls, as soon as they saw his face. I was at the back so I wasnt able to see his face yet, but I once I did My eyes widened and my heart started beating faster. He was probably one of the prettiest man I have ever seen. He had a such flawless good looking face. Everything about him was perfect, he was tall, his eyes were pretty, his nose looked pretty, even his dark hair was pretty. It was slicked back with only on strand hanging in his face. Truly flawless. He was stood at the center of the room wearing a white suit with gold details on it. He looked around the room looking at every girl carefully. With the older man right beside him, his eyes wandered around the room and they found mine. I immediately looked away once we made eye contact, I couldn’t bear to look into his eyes. I felt myself blushing. Once I thought he looked away, I looked at him again but he was still looking at me. And I wondered why? Am I not pretty enough? Does he think I don’t belong in a place like this? The older man beside him started coughed and he eventually looked away.
The older man started introducing the King to us. „Ladies this is Jeon Jungkook King of Aramella“ he said. And we all bowed to greet him. „As u all know the King is here today, to find a Wife, that can fulfill his wishes and dreams and stay by his side till the rest of your lives. So, if u think you would be his perfect wife, than please step forward.“ the older man said.
And all the girls immediately stepped forward. Well, except for me. I didn’t have enough confidence in me to step forward.
The Kings eyes wandered around once again. He looked at every girl in front of him that stepped forward. But soon his eyes found mine again and he looked at me with furrowed brows.
„Why aren’t you stepping forward?“ he asked me with a cold tone to his voice. And suddenly everyone turned around to look at me.
stay tuned for part two. ☺️

Beautiful madness.
1.
Waverly left the Vera-Vaughn-Greenwood manor moments later, promising Abby to reach out as soon as her daughter was in safety and that she gathered some more information on the artifact Abigael was looking for.
It let an odd feeling in the Demon Overlord mind, like a blur she couldn’t quite figured out. After a lifetime of loneliness, hatred and resentment, here she was, making plan with her long lost sister to burglarize the only antique allowing her to restore Macy’s fire power. A step closer to her long journey to redemption.
Will she even get there someday?
Lost in her own torturous thoughts, the British Lady didn’t hear the witch that changed her whole perspective, talking to her.
“Abby?” Mel repeated, a concerned frown marking her face.
No answer. So the witch held out her hand and took one of Abigael’s in her own trying again “Abby, are you okay?”
It worked. The Demon Overlord seemed to get out of her hypnotic state, looking at their joined hands. Eyes fascinated; like it was the most precious thing in the world. Suddenly something must have clicked in her because in a movement of panic she brutally let go of Mel’s hand and took two steps back.
“Have this unannounced pregnancy made you lost your mind as well as your memory? What about theallergy, Mel?” Abby asked in an irritated tone but the concern was crystal clear for the Vera sister.
Mel voice was soft when she simply replied “Shush it, demon spawn!”.She then closed the distance between them and took both of Abigael’s hands in hers. “See? Baby and I are good! Don’t worry.” Her smile grew some more at Abby’s awe.
“But- How?” it was so quiet that Mel almost missed it.
“I’m not really sure, but it must be the baby.”
Abigael said nothing. Eyes glued to their hands as their fingers intertwined. They stayed silent for some times. Abby didn’t dare to move an inch, a bit scared that the moment might end. For her part, Mel attentively observed The Demon Overlord’s expression the entire time. She would be lying if she said that nothing in her was liking the way Abby was looking so adoringly at their joined hands. But then, their eyes locked and Abigael had that same look on her face than the one she had when Mel asked her if she was doing this just to make amends with Macy. They were telling more than what Abby was actually able or willing to say. In that instant, everything around them ceased to exist. They were so close that Mel’s round belly touched the half-demon half-witch front. Abby wouldn’t do anything unless she was certain of Mel’s consent and for now she wouldn’t ask…
Minutes passed by and still, they were looking at each, like it was the first time they actually saw one another. Without fuss. Without judgment. Mel’s heartbeat went crazy, she couldn’t clearly figured out what it was that made her breathless, but she let herself be lost in those hazel eyes that she learned to appreciate more than she should have.
Stuck, neither of the two women knew how to act around each other in this private moment, so Abby decided to crack a snarky remark to ease whatever was going on.
“Careful there Potion Princess, one might think that you want to steal a kiss from The Demon Overlord!” Abigael said on that tone that drove Mel mad. So she rolled her eyes in exasperation, but kept her hands firmly in the British Lady ones. Then a smirk appeared on her lips when she just retorted to that flirty comment with a sultry tone.
“What if it’s exactly what I want to do?”
She then started to caress Abby’s knuckles softly while The Demon Overlord lost her voice once again. She just kept those eyes on Mel’s, more piercing than ever. And Mel finally get what Abigael meant by “I care deeply about her” when the truth serum kicked in at her trial… Just like that, her heart stopped beating at the realization. Abigael didn’t care about her in a weird frenemy way. No. It was deeper. She cared about her in a romantic way. Everything kind of fell in place. “Our child”resonated in her head. How could she missed it? The change in the woman behavior before her, how she just stopped having one night stands and orgy with Susans. Yes, plural. How didn’t she saw it sooner? How her relationship with Abigael Jameson-Caine had grown and how close they had become.
After all, a few hours back, she confessed to the woman how scared of failing her baby she was. And in all of her softness Abigael find the right words to wipe away her doubts. She didn’t laugh, didn’t used this knowledge to make a sarcastic comment. She just comforted her.
And now Mel’s mind went crazy. Loaded with questions she didn’t wanted to acknowledge till now. What did she felt for the half-witch half-demon herself?
She cared about her, a lot. A lot more than she thought she actually did. But Ruby. Mel loved Ruby. They had been through so much and still, they were together. Stronger than ever. That was what the witch was thinking. What she was feeling. And yet, she couldn’t stopped herself to wonder who was the baby’s other mother?
Abigael kept her lips sealed at first, but after some times she titled her head slightly to the side a bit worried about Mel’s own thoughts.
“Are you alright Angry Spice?” gently tightening the hands in hers.
Mel took one last look in The Demon Overlord’s eyes and give her a small smile before letting go of her grip on Abigael, who already missed the contact she craved.
“Yeah. I’m a bit tired I guess with, you know, the baby, the demon, meeting your sister.” It wasn’t a lie, she was kind of exhausted of the day, but it wasn’t the entire truth.
“If I had known about your impromptu pregnancy Mel, I would not have come bothering you asking for your assistance when danger was involved. I swear.” The hybrid stated embarrassed.
“I know Abby. As you said at the door earlier, my sisters and I are usually the ones running to you for help. I’m glad you came and trusted me enough to introduce me to your sister and let me help you.” The Latina responded. “And, for what it worth, I’m proud of you Abby.”
“It worth more than you know.” Abigael smiled with her eyes. “I should go and let you rest then. You are, after all, bearing a tiny human in that belly of yours. Thank you again, for you help. I’ll see you Potion Princess”.
The Demon Overlord started phase-shifting when Mel gently wrapped her fingers around Abigael’s left wrist. She blocked her power and waited patiently for Mel to pursue what she had on her mind.
“Thank you for the crib and for those things you said about me having what it takes to be a good mom.” Mel really appreciated this reassurance the hybrid provided her.
“Well, you have nothing to thank me for. It’s all you Melanie.” She winked at the Vera witch and disappeared in a dark smoke.
Mel stayed in the middle of the room, closed her eyes, and let out a breath she didn’t remember holding back.
*****************
That night, Mel hadn’t slept a minute. Sure, when her sisters came home and told her all about The Whispering Evil, her freak out level went high. But if she was being honest with herself (which she usually is) her mind was preoccupied by all the questions she had about a certain brunette. “Ugh! Damn you Abigael Jameson-Caine!” she muffled in her pillow. She decided to go to the kitchen and for a drink, maybe that Valerian tea Waverly highly recommended her.
Then cup in hands, the witch sat on the couch in the living room. The one Abby slept on, when her demonic form tried to get rid of her. Sighing for thinking yet again of The Demon Overlord, the Vera witch took her phone and looked at the time. 3:00 AM. “How fitting!” she exhaled. She quickly taped a text to her girlfriend. Thirty minutes later, Ruby still hadn’t responded. “I guess some have less troubles to find sleep than others” Mel spoke a bit bored. Before she could changed her mind and against her better judgment, the witch decided to text Abigael.
3:33 AM – Potion Princess : Are you awake?
A minute later, dots appeared on Mel’s screen indicating that the hybrid was typing.
3:34 AM – Demon Spawn : No. I am actually asleep.
Mel rolled her eyes and cracked a smile at this response.
3:35 AM – Potion Princess : So… How are you able to answer my text if you’re asleep?
3:35 AM – Demon Spawn : My subconscious is especially productive at this time of night.
3:35 AM – Demon Spawn : I had some business to attend actually. Why are you awake?
3:36 AM – Potion Princess : Business? In the middle of the night? I can’t sleep.
3:36 AM – Demon Spawn : The perks of being The Demon Overlord if I may say. Is everything alright? Is our baby keeping you up that late?
The witch scrutinized her screen for a good minute, particularly those two words “our baby”. Again, Mel’s heart just stopped beating in her chest and she felt her cheeks burning. She debated with herself on how to answer properly.
3:38 AM – Potion Princess : Well, you’re the one that claimed the title… So, suck it up and deal with it! ;). Our baby uh? How did you come by this conclusion? But no, it’s not the baby that keeps me from sleeping. I just got a lot on my mind I guess.
Abby’s text was nothing but fast.
3:38 AM – Demon Spawn : You’re so sarcastic at this hour of the night. It’s quite delightful. Is there something you want to talk about? Maybe I can be of some sorts of assistance?
Mel didn’t missed how Abigael just eluded a part of her text.
3:40 AM – Potion Princess : You should go to bed. It’s late and your day was longer than mine apparently...
3:40 AM – Demon Spawn : Nonsense.
And just like that, Abigael appeared in the middle of the Vera-Vaughn-Greenwood living room, wearing a black trousers and a garnet satin shirt with a cleavage that left not much to imagination. Her hair were impeccable (as usual), and she wear those discrete gold hearings. She was still wearing her make-up. Mel glanced at her guest a little too long to go unnoticed by Abigael who just smirked at her when sitting next to the witch.
“So Velma Dinkley, what in that little head of yours prevents you to fall asleep?” Abby asked softly.
Melanie Vera rarely panicked at the thought of talking about feelings. Not with her sisters. Not with Harry. Not with Ruby. Ruby her girlfriend if she hadn’t mentioned it. But now, in front of one Abigael Jameson-Caine, she would gladly take off in a heartbeat. Also, she knew that if she wasn’t having this conversation, she’ll be self-deprived of sleep for the rest of her life. So, here she was…
“You, actually.” She confessed when meeting the half-demon half-witch eyes.
Abigael’s smirk was so infuriating, Mel already knew what was coming for her next.
“Having naughty thoughts about us?” Abby couldn’t bring herself to not take the bait on this one which just made her host rolled her eyes even more exasperatedly.
“Abby! Can you stop please. I’m trying to have a serious conversation here.” the Latina said. Because having this particular talk at almost 4 in the morning was the responsible thing to do. Good job, Mel.
The British Lady took one look into the Vera sister eyes to know that this conversation was important to her. So, she clenched her jaw, and silently promised herself to do her best.
“I apologize. What about me, Potion Princess?” She asked curiously facing the Charmed One.
“We never spoke about what you said during the trial…” Damn it! She completely sucked at starting this topic.
“Oh, you mean when Perky Peanut gave me truth serum against my will and so forced me to answer truthfully at questions I would have rather lied about?” A hint of resentment was obvious in her tone.
Mel put a hand on Abigael’s forearm to soothe her. It seemed to work, because the hybrid closed her eyes for a second before pursuing.
“I imagine you want to have a conversation about what I said about you, isn’t it?” She didn’t dare to look at Mel.
“Yes.” the witch whispered. “Did you meant what you said?”
Abby laughed at that. It wasn’t a full laugh, but still, the Latina hadn’t heard her guest laughed a lot.
“Mel, you do know how truth serum works, right?” The British Lady furrowed her brow in question.
“Yeah I do, but you know what I meant.” Melanie replied as if the question was crystal clear.
“So, what you truly asked was if I still mean it right now?” Really, she guessed her best.
The witch only nodded in approval.
“Well, in all honesty, it is a question that is hard to answer to.” The Demon Overlord observed Mel’s reaction.
“How come?” Mel simply asked, when she could heard the frantic beating of her heart in her chest.
Abigael gave her a small smile, one that would be imperceptible for a stranger.
“I do not know any words that would reflect what you mean to me, Melanie.” Again, the witch heart skipped a beat at the use of her first name. “I do not know when neither do I know how you became such an important part of my life but every chance I get to spend time with you I learn to know why.” She paused to gather her thoughts. “So yes, Melanie Vera, I care deeply about you. More than I ever cared about anyone to this day. Really, I just want you to be healthy, to be happy.” Mel sat still, incapable of breathing, too struck by Abby’s confession, by the vulnerability that she was showing to her. Speechless. “And, don’t be mistaken, I expect nothing from you. I would not dream of it. I know my place and how unworthy I am to ever be a part of your happiness. I woul-”.
The half-demon half-witch was cut off by a pair of lips on her own. Surprised, she closed her eyes and kissed Mel back. It was gentle, like caressing velour for the first time. They were both afraid that the moment was in fact a dream. Then the witch place a final peck on Abby’s lips before retreating.
“Sorry, I didn’t asked for you consent.” Mel whispered.
“For this? You always have it.” Abby replied softly. “Will my answer be of any help?”
“I’m sure it will. Thank you for being honest.” The Vera sister replied, even though she wanted to say more.
“Alright, I leave you to it then. Have a good night, Melanie.” The British Lady focused on Mel’s eyes.
“Goodnight, Abigael. And again, thank you.” The which said just before a cloud of dark smoke made her guest disappeared.
Mel didn’t slept better after that. Her lips haunted by Abby’s and the taste of her tongue against hers.
It’s 8 AM sharp when she got a text from Ruby. And then, a storm was raging within the witch heart.

his hands (m)
pairing: eren yaeger/jaeger x fem!reader warnings: nsfw, fingering, weed, vagsex, explicit language. word count: 2.2 k
summary: eren’s your best friend and you’ve been in love with him since you met him. for the first time you agree to smoke weed with him and shit goes down. there’s some fluff too.
You cough, loudly and he bursts into a loud laugh. You try to hit him on the arm but it’s useless. Your eyes tear up while trying to gasp for some clean air.
“Stop laughing” you managed to say, trying to clear your throat. Your mouth tastes like smoke and your lungs feel heavy and burning. It was a bad idea but you just couldn’t say no to him. He was charming and funny and he always knew what to say to convince you. He smiled, taking the smoking pipe from your hand.
“Let me show you how it’s done” Eren placed it between his lips and lit it up, taking a deep breath, making the weed glow while burning. He let out the smoke through his nose after a few seconds. It looked easy... for him. How long he had been smoking? Two years now? “You wanna try again?” he offered the pipe to you once more. It wasn’t a pleasing sensation, to be honest and you could only taste ashes and smoke. You wanted to say no, but his eyes were so convincing...
You took it and placed it between your own lips, thinking about an indirect kiss. He was a gentleman and lit it up for you.
“Okay, so, while it burns, you have to take a deep breath. Hold it and then just breath it out. Easy peasy.”
This time wasn’t so terrible. You wanted to cough but you managed to keep the smoke inside before letting it out all at once. Eren seemed pleased with the way you did it and patted you on the head, the way he always did, making the butterflies in your stomach flutter like crazy.
You’d been in love with him since you met him at that party, a few years ago. You two were freshmen and happened to sit at the same coach at the frat house, not knowing what to do or what to say. Eren asked you about your high school first and you told him the whole story, always oversharing but he didn’t seemed to mind. He was interested enough and you liked that. He talked to you about his last school, his friends and the fact that they were also in that college. He was waiting for them to arrive while you were there alone because you wanted to be more social.
“My face is tingling” you murmured. He poked your cheek and you couldn’t help but smile because it felt good. You noticed the fluffy rug against your skin in a way you never did before, as if your skin got a hundred times more sensitive.
“Thats okay” he said. You were both laying down on the rug of your room at the dorms, looking at the ceiling, with your arm and his brushing skins. “Now all you have to do is relax.”
Your whole body started tingling at once, from the tip of your toes to your face. It all felt...really nice. You could hear laughter and conversations coming from outside the building and it was like music. You brought your hands to your face, noticing the smell of your hand cream and smoke lingering on your fingers. Without thinking, you took his hand and did the same thing. His skin was soft and warm and it felt like silk against yours. His scent was a mixture of weed and laundry detergent, along with Eren’s own aroma. Something that you couldn’t describe but it was unforgettable.
“I always knew you had a hand kink” he said, taking you out of your thoughts. You blushed and let go of his hand. Eren laughed once again. “I’m not shaming you, tho, you can keep going.”
“Shut up” you murmured, placing your hands inside the pocket of your hoodie. You felt his head resting against your shoulder. He always did that and you loved it. You loved the sensation of his closeness to you, the smell of his hair, his warmth... It was the best part of being his best friend. That he was always close. “My mom would kill me if she knew I’m doing drugs with the school’s junkie...”
“Wow, I didn’t know I was the school junkie” he said “What about Connie?”
“He just looks like a junkie but he’s not baked 24/7 like someone I know” Eren shrugged, barely moving his head to look at you. He stared for a few moments “What?”
“Nothing. I just like to look at you. You’re really cute.”
You blushed, biting your lip and looking away. That wasn’t the first time he said something like that and even though you liked it, you knew he didn’t mean it in the way you wanted to and it broke your heart just a little bit. It wasn’t his fault. You were the one having feelings for him, just like those girls in teen movies. The difference was that, in the end, you wouldn’t end up with him. At least you got his friendship and it made everything have a bittersweet taste. You sighed, trying not to think about it and just enjoying the silence between you two. This moments were the ones you loved the most because there was nothing except you two, laying down together, looking at the ceiling of your dorm room.
“I love you”
His voice was soft but it still broke the silence. It sounded peaceful and real. And then, you got it. You sat up straight, looking at him. He wasn’t looking at you, his gaze was lost somewhere else. Did you heard him alright? Or was it just because of the weed? You didn’t dared to ask what he said because you didn’t want to embarrass yourself. Maybe your mind was playing games. You shook your head and hugged your legs against your chest. It sure was your imagination. There was no way he’d...
“Y/N” judging by they way he said your name you knew he wasn’t joking anymore. You looked at him and there was something about his eyes that sent shivers all over your body. Eren was right. Weed made everything feel...so different. You didn’t know what to do. And you froze in your place when you felt his hands on your cheeks, and your heart stopped completely once he leaned in to press his lips against yours.
It was electric. His mouth tasted like chocolate and weed and it was delicious. You didn’t understand what was going on, but the sensation was being so amazing that you just gave in, letting him caress your tongue with his, getting closer. You placed your hands on his chest and felt the fast beating of his heart. His fingers ran down to your lower back and it was as if he was touching your very nerves, going through the layers of fabric and skin. Something in the back of your hazed brain was panicking with the fact that you and Eren were making out but that something was quickly silenced once his mouth traveled down your neck, finding its way on the curve of your throat. A small whimper left your lips and you blushed even more, feeling how the blood rushed all the way to your face. Eren seemed to like that because he got closer, pressing his body against yours. Your knees were melting and your skin was about to catch on fire.
As if he had the same sensation he got rid of your hoodie with a swift movement. You didn’t had to think about it. His lips didn’t left enough room for thinking. He kissed you until you were out of breath. You didn’t even cared that you were only using your bra under the hoodie and a simple pair of shorts. You loved the fact that you could just be comfortable around Eren. You gasped when his hands cupped your breasts over the fabric, squeezing them. You loved the feeling because you’ve been dreaming about that since you met him at that party. Since you saw his hands rolling a joint you wanted him to touch you with the same delicacy and eagerness. He pushed you a little bit so you could lay down again. You bit your lip to muffle the moan that wanted to escape your lips when he positioned himself all over you. Your eyes met his and it was like everything felt into place. His hair tickled your face when he leaned in closer to your face and you couldn’t help but run your fingers through the brown strands, letting his hair loose from the bun he always had. It felt amazing. Your hands caressed the back of his neck and his broad shoulders, his back and his face as you were admiring everything about him. Being this close was driving you crazy and your heart was pounding inside of your chest.
“Eren...” you whispered his name and the way it sounded felt like a declaration. He kissed you once again and the only reason he would stop was to gasp for air.
It was all being like a dream, like one of those dreams you used to have where he just appeared whispering all sorts of perverted things, things that he would do to you. You always woke up wet and confused and your solution for that was to finger yourself to get rid of the horniness. Just like those times, one of your hands automatically moved down and slid inside your shorts. With your middle and ring fingers you felt how wet you already were and you moaned against his lips, making him realize what you were doing. He stopped for a brief second and then grabbed your wrist, making you stop. You looked at him but he was half-smiling. His hand replaced yours and the way his fingers caressed your clit made you gasp. He collected your juices and slowly introduced one finger inside of you, making you close your legs. Eren let out a chuckle.
“You’re really cute...”
You covered your face with your hands, embarrassed but quickly forgot about it when he started to finger-fuck you, managing to rub your clit with his thumb and thrust his middle fingir in and out of you. Your moans got louder and for a moment you thought that maybe someone could hear you but you didn’t care. This was a fantasy. Maybe you were just hallucinating and you didn’t wanted it to stop. It was all you ever wanted.
“Take off your bra.” he asked and you obeyed, just pulling it up, showing him your breasts and your already hard nipples. He licked his lips before leaning so he could lick one of them, circling his tongue around it, making you a mess of moans and wetness. He sucked on your tits and took his time with them, as if it was something he just wanted to do from a long time.
You sighed when he stopped fingering you. He kneeled between your legs and you saw him pull down his pants and boxers, letting you see his boner. His cock was hard and glistening, with beads of precum covering the tip. You imagined that he was big, but not that big. You gulped and he smiled, noticing the wanting in your eyes. He took off your shorts and opened your legs, running his fingers along your slit, collecting your wetness and making you moan. With that same hand he jerked his dick, up and down, his gaze fixed on your pussy and the position you were. Those seconds felt like an eternity to you.
“Is it okay if we do it like this?” he asked. “I didn’t bring a condom”
You bit your lip for a second but then just nodded.
“As long as you pull out...”
That answer seemed to please him because as soon as you said it, he aligned his cock against your cunt and slowly slid it inside. You arched your back, tensing around his length, making him moan. It was better than you ever imagined. You could feel him inside of you, opening your insides so he could fit in your tight pussy. You wrapped your arms against his neck, closing your eyes and he started to thrust in and out of you, increasing the pace as he got used to the sensation.
“You have no idea of how bad I wanted you...” he said, resting his forehead against yours. “From the moment I...Oh, fuck...I saw you...” Eren’s balls slapped against your skin, making a delicious sound that matched perfectly with the rhythm of your sighs and moans. “I love you, y/n...”
You opened your eyes. His face was so close, covered in sweat, eyes closed shut. He was panting and you couldn’t help but lean in for a kiss, a deep kiss. You moved your hips against his, syncing the movements. This way you felt him go in deeper, stimulating your g-spot, driving you over the edge. You felt him twitch inside of you, just about to get there. You wrapped your legs around his waist and screamed his name when you cum. Just a few seconds after, he pulls out, cumming all over your belly with a husky moan. He’s panting and colapses right next to you. Both of your chests raise up and down, trying to recover your breath.
You feel his arm wrapping around your shoulder, bringing you closer to him until you rest against his chest. You can hear his heart pounding and you feel embarrassed and happy and tender.
“I love you too” you whisper and he hugs you tighter.
“Can I spend the night?” he asks.
“Only if you take a shower with me.”
“Deal.”

PAIRING(s): Charlie Gillespie x fem! reader
WARNING(s): mentions of abuse, trauma, anxiety, angst, fluff
WORDS: 2,036
SUMMARY: charlie takes co-star and girlfriend y/n home for christmas but that leads to self doubt in her (im so bad at these) [note: this takes place in 2021]
As Charlie pulls out the key from the ignition, I sigh, wringing my hands nervously. He unbuckles his seatbelt and faces me, giving me a bright, happy smile.
“My family is so excited to meet you.” He says, reaching forward to tuck a strand of hair behind my ear.
“What if they hate me?” I whisper.
My boyfriend, Charlie, and I first met on the set of Charmed – we were both in the first episode, but I left it after that due to scheduling conflicts with my other show, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. I had been a part of CAOS since its first episode – I played the role of Sabrina’s cousin, Sarah Spellman.
Back then, we were just friends. After I left Charmed, we would text and call each other occasionally. Whenever we were in the same city, we would meet up – but that was hard considering we both had quite different lives. So, we didn’t think of each other as more than friends – sure I thought that he was attractive, but that’s it.
But, in 2020, after CAOS was cancelled, I got a call from the casting director of Julie and The Phantoms: she was the one who had previously cast me in CAOS, and she believed that I’d be perfect for the role of Julie’s British cousin who joins her school after her parents relocate to LA – I also play Reggie’s love interest.
I texted Charlie immediately after my manager finalized all the details for the new role. He had been excited and when shooting started in 2021, we were pretty inseparable.
After a few weeks, I had developed a major crush on him ad the rest of the cast had also picked up on that. They were also convinced that Charlie liked me (which I didn’t believe at that time but later found out that it was, indeed, true) and they used to tease us about it all the time. Finally, a couple weeks before production ended, he asked me out on a date and it’s been really, really great so far.
We’ve been dating for about nine months now and honestly, he’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. He’s my home – all my life I’ve always felt lost, but I feel like I truly belong with him.
Now, he laughs. “Baby. I promise you – they already love you. My mother’s been bugging me to bring you home ever since we started dating, and you’ve already met Megan, and she loves you.”
“If you say so.” I say, still not convinced.
He grins and we get out of his car and face his childhood home. I take a deep breath, shaking off my nerves. He knocks three times on the front door, and it opens immediately after.
A petite, blonde woman steps out, with a wide smile on her face. She opens her arms as Charlie yells, “Mamacita!”
“Mon chéri. Ça fait trop longtemps!”
“Je vous ai manqué!”
I have absolutely no idea what they are saying, but the scene in front of me is so heart-warming. Charlie’s mother is genuinely happy to see her son – one can tell by the way she’s holding him, almost like he’s a little child. Charlie is quite a couple inches taller than her, but he’s nestled his face into her shoulder.
I can’t stop a grin from breaking out on my face. It’s honestly rather lovely. But I also feel a slight pang in my heart knowing that no one ever greets me like this when I go home.
They separate from each other and she squeezes his shoulders, looking at him with so much love that I have to look away. I have never seen a mother look at their child like that, with such intense love. That’s dumb, I know. Mothers are supposed to love their children. But all my mother ever looks at me with is disappointment, anger, disgust, and – you get it.
She notices me next and claps her hands. “You must be Y/N!”
“Hi, Mrs. Gillespie. It’s so nice to meet you!” I extend a hand toward her.
“Aw, come here! You’re gorgeous.”
She pulls me in for a hug too, and for a moment I’m engulfed by the smell of white musk and the feeling of warmth.
We pull apart and I smile at her, genuinely. All my anxiety has washed away.
“My son is always talking about you, about how pretty you are and –”
“Let’s go inside!” Charlie quickly cuts her off, eyes widened as I laugh.
“But I wanna know what he says!”
Mrs Gillespie winks at me as Charlie turns scarlet. “I’ll tell you when he’s gone.”
***
Another roar of laughter erupts around the dinner table.
Honestly, I’ve never seen a family like this – a family so connected, so loving. All of Charlie’s siblings – from his three older brothers to his little sister are here for Christmas Eve, and all of them are teasing each other, telling childhood stories, and just having the best time. I was, too. That was until I suddenly realized how I don’t fit in here.
Everyone here grew up completely different than I did. When I was young, about two years old – my dad left my mom and I for another woman. I haven’t seen him since – although, he sends me a postcard and some money on holidays and birthdays. He’s travelling around the world with his new wife and is apparently ‘happier than he’s ever been.’
The reason he left is because kids ‘freak’ him out and he isn’t ‘ready’ for that kind of responsibility. I mean, it wasn’t like he was fifteen when he had me: he was twenty-seven, and already married to my mother for about two years then.
Naturally, my mother blames me for her divorce. I was born out of an accidental pregnancy, so my mother made sure to remind me every day that I was unwanted, and my birth was what ‘pushed’ him to leave us. Every single day, my mother told me that I shouldn’t have been born, that I was a mistake, that I was worthless, unlovable and so, so many more horrible things. She used to drink like crazy, and if I accidentally faced her in that state, she would sometimes hit me.
Years and years of abuse and all that childhood trauma led me to develop a fear of abandonment, trust issues, intimacy issues, anxiety, and depression. Throughout school, I had been closed off, unable to form relationships and friendships with other people. I had feared anything and everything – I couldn’t even maintain eye contact with people.
Of course, when I auditioned for CAOS and moved away to LA, away from that toxic environment, I got help and turned my life around. (My mother was incredibly happy to see me go since she had married another guy and now has a family with him – so I was the only thing left that reminded her of my father.) I learnt to accept, prioritize, and love myself – but I’m still working on that, of course.
But, I know, deep down, no matter how well I am, or how happy I am – there will always be a part of me that’s broken. I’ve grown to accept that, accept the fact that I’ll always carry the trauma with me.
But Charlie doesn’t. He’s lived a good life, and he deserves someone who can give him their everything – and that’s not me.
As much as I hate to say it, I’m not good enough for him.
He senses a change in my demeanour and squeezes my hand under the table. I give him a weak smile.
***
“Y/N/N, what’s wrong?”
I look up at my boyfriend. He has a look of concern on his face as he takes a seat next to me on the couch.
I sigh into the quiet. Everyone has fallen asleep, except Charlie and I – we are seated in his living room in front of the fireplace.
“Nothing. I’m just really tired.”
“That’s not true, Y/N. You were fine throughout dinner – oh my god, it’s the ice cream, isn’t it?”
“What?”
“The pistachio ice cream that Maman made. It was weirdly bitter, eh? It’s okay, you can tell me.”
I purse my lips. “No, Charlie. The ice cream was great.”
“Are you sure? You’ve been down since desert.”
“It’s not the ice cream, babe.”
“Okay, then, what is it?”
He looks at me expectantly, and I can sense that he’s feeling anxious.
“I just – I realized that I don’t fit in.”
He furrows his brows, but before he can say anything, I start speaking again. “Charlie, you have such a loving and perfect family. And you know how I grew up. What I went through. So, you know that I’m not used to this. I’m not – I’ve never seen love like this in a family, you know. And I don’t fit in here! While your mother was being so nice to me, I kept wondering when she’s going to scream at me. Or when your father was genuinely interested in me, I kept thinking that maybe he’s trying to find a way to get rid of me. It’s just – it’s just the way I grew up, and I’ll always be like this, Char. Your family is so nice, and it shocks me, honestly. And I think that maybe it’s better if you date someone who grew up the way you did, someone who’s like you. Because I have been broken my whole life, and I don’t think that I can give you everything that you need. I don’t think I’m good enough for you. You’re the best person that I’ve ever met, and I think you should be with someone who’s worthy of you.”
I whisper the last part, and feel a teardrop fall into the space between my collarbones. I look down because I’m too afraid of what he might say.
I hear him breathe out heavily and I feel him take my hands in his.
“Don’t you ever say that.”
“But it’s true –”
“Y/N. Don’t you dare doubt yourself. You are good enough. No, you’re perfect. You’re the strongest woman I know. I completely understand why you feel what you’re feeling right now.”
He scoots closer to me and cups my cheeks in his hands. “And it’s okay. It’s okay to feel that way. It’s okay to feel shocked. That doesn’t make you a bad person, nor does it make you not good enough. In fact, it makes all the stronger – you went through so much as a kid, and still, you have space in your heart for me. You know, I never doubt the fact that you love me, ever. Because you always make me feel special, make me feel good about myself and always make sure that I’m happy. You always go out of your way to take care of me, and you always make me feel at home. I don’t want anyone other than you. I love you so much and I never, ever wanna lose you.”
I think I’m fully crying now, as Charlie continues, “It’s okay to feel that way. Take your time. But I’m never leaving you. You’re my person, and you’ll always fit in with me, baby. Always.”
“Charlie…”
I look at him properly, and I can see the pain in his eyes as a tear traces along the curve of his cheek. He sniffs, saying, “I’m sorry. I just can’t imagine being with anyone other than you.”
“Why are you so good to me?” I whisper, my throat still tight from the emotions.
“Because you deserve someone good, and I can only hope that I’m good for you.”
I wrap my arms around his neck and bury my face in his shoulder as a sob escapes my body. “I’m so sorry, baby. So, so sorry.” I keep whispering that, while he rubs my back, saying ‘it’s okay.’
“I love you so much, Charlie. Honestly, thanks for being so good to me. You have no idea what you mean to me.”
I can feel him smile as he says, “I think I have a pretty good idea, yeah.”

Adopting Bangtan 09
01 previous
AN UNLIKELY WEDDING
You bit your lip as you stared at your phone. You had an email from Jimin and Taehyung’s mother. Song Jieun was your old coworker who you had adored, but who also tricked you into taking care of her children so that she could get married without worry. Your respect and opinion of her had gone down significantly with that move, but you… didn’t exactly understand, but you did appreciate that she gave her children to someone who could properly take care of them instead of leaving them to fend for themselves which had seemed to be her original plan.
What’s wrong?” Seokjin looked up from the video game he was playing, ignoring the cut scene he had watched a dozen times before now to focus on you. You could hear the younger boys playing in their bedroom, the sounds of legos clattering and mouth-made explosions louder than what their closed bedroom door could block off. They were sounds that had become familiar in the past six months, sounds that used to be made by one child and were nowhere near this boisterous.
“Nothing,” you shrugged while you scrolled through the email a second time and tried to sort out your feelings. Seokjin’s stare burned into your cheek and rolled your eyes. “I mean it, nothing is wrong. Just…” You could feel your face twisting into a dissatisfied expression and tried to relax it back into something more neutral. There were times when you found you could rely on the eldest of your children, and times when you thought it was better to keep things to yourself, and you weren’t sure which one this was.
“Someone emailed me,” you hedge. “I’m just trying to decide how I feel.”
“That’s your worried face,” said Seokjin. “You only make that face about work and about us. But you also whine when you’re worried about work, so it’s about us, isn’t it? Which one of the kids is failing school?”
“No one is failing school,” you laugh. “Namjoon could be doing better, but I’m certain he just doesn’t care as much as his teachers want him to. Neither does Yoongi…. You know, as a teacher myself, I should probably be more concerned.”
“You’re appropriately concerned,” Seokjin reassured you. “Why should you worry about things you can’t control? You’re just going to age faster.”
“You’re going to stop calling me old one day.”
“Lying isn’t healthy,”
“Says the kid who lied his way into adoption.”
“I took advantage of my situation. That’s not lying, that’s cunning.”
“I didn’t raise you like this,” you say, standing.
“No, but that’s kind of the point, isn’t it? I’m raising myself, six kids, and my guardian. I can’t tell if I’m doing a piss poor job or not.”
“Language, Kim Seokjin!”
“Dinner, seonsaengnim!” he shouted back. The problem was, you aren’t sure if he successfully distracted you from your concerns or if you successfully distracted him from you.
===
Song Jieun’s email bothered you intermittently throughout the week. It’s not like you forgot she existed. You’ve received a hefty sum into your bank account every month for taking care of the boys, enough to make you wonder exactly why her new husband didn’t want to take care of them when he would probably be spending a lot less money if they were under his own roof. So no, Song Jieun wasn’t someone you forgot existed unlike like you could the rest of your kids’ parents, she just… wasn’t relevant. So it bothered you that she was trying to make herself relevant now, after six months of silence.
“You’re doing the thing again,” Seokjin poked your face. You startled, unaware that he had approached, but thankfully kept your coffee mug full. “What are you so worried about?”
“Nothing,” you say for the umpteenth time that week. “I’m not worried about anything.”
“You’ve been ‘not-worried’ since last Thursday,” Seokjin argued.
“So then why do you keep asking me what’s wrong?” You didn’t have to turn to see the weighted stare he gave you, you could feel it. That was the thing about your kids, all of them. They had a way of making you feel like you were the one in trouble, you were the one being raised instead of the other way around. Some days you were convinced that they were the ones keeping you around, explicitly for financial reasons.
“If you’re just going to insist on being stubborn,” Seokjin sighed. He poured two cups of coffee, one for himself and one for Yoongi, and turned the kettle on for Namjoon. The other boys would be zombie-walking their way into the kitchen for breakfast soon, so you and Seokjin set to work preparing leftovers from dinner a few nights ago.
“Song Jieun wants to visit the boys,” after a long, silent moment, you finally admit your concern. The kettle was puffing it’s pre-whistle warning, so you turned it off, sitting the pot on its wicker table mat until Namjoon made his way to the table.
“Who’s Song Jieun?” asked Seokjin. “Which boy? Not me, right?”
“No, of course not you, silly. You won’t even tell me your parents’ names. How am I supposed to know when they come to visit?”
“Trust me, they won’t,” Seokjin’s tone left no room for discussion, just a sad or regretful sort of resentment.
“If you say so,” you shrugged off your curiosity, familiar with how closed-off this kid got when it came to his home life before you. “Song Jieun is Taehyung’s mom and Jimin’s stepmom.”
“The coworker who tricked you into adopting them?”
“That’s what you got out of that?”
“Isn’t that what happened?”
“That’s besides the point,”
“That is the point.”
“What’s what point?” Namjoon shuffled into the kitchen.
“Our guardian is trying to decide if the twins should see their mother.” Seokjin answered.
“That’s not what I said,”
“That’s what you were going to say.”
“Everyone else gets nice, obedient, adoring children,” you grumbled. “I get sassy monsters who boss me around.”
“You raised us like this,” Namjoon said absently.
“I did not, you raised yourselves.”
“Same thing,” both boys speak in unison.
“I’m giving you two away.”
“Good luck living with Yoongi without us,” Seokjin shrugged. “You’ll be begging me to come back by the end of the week.”
“Joke’s on you, this is the end of the week.”
“My point still stands.”
“Okay, I quit, I won’t win this one,” you literally throw your hands in the air.”
“Good,” Jin grins at you in that cheeky way he’s mastered, taunting you.
“So what’s this about the twin’s mom though?” asked Namjoon. “I thought she…” he trailed off, but you understood what he was saying, or rather, what he didn’t want to say. I thought she didn’t want them.
“Yes and no,” you say. “She just… it’s… not exactly complicated, not if I were in her position, but… let’s just say, some people are stupid and not everyone has the same priorities.”
“Song Jieun chose to make herself happy over taking care of her kids?” Seokjin translated. “She didn’t want to take them to live with her new husband?”
“More or less,” You agree, taking note of the bitterness in his tone.
“You’re not allowed to get married,” Namjoon mumbled from the table.
“Excuse me?”
“You’re not allowed to leave us or get rid of us because you want to be married,” Namjoon repeated. He’s obviously still half asleep from the way he lays his head down in his arms, but your heart clenches just a little bit from the casual desperation he speaks with.
“If I were to get married,” you said, “my future spouse would know that they come in eighth place anyway. I’m not getting rid of you, even your original parents would have to fight me. God will have to fight me.”
“But you’re still not allowed,” said Namjoon.
“Drink your tea, you’re talking crazy,” said Seokjin. “Our guardian will have to actually date first, and we all know that won’t happen.”
“The disrespect, I tell you!”
It’s after breakfast and during the chaos of getting seven young boys dressed and prepared for school when Seokjin knocks on your bedroom door frame, wearing an anxious expression.
“... Can I talk to you for a moment?”
“What’s up?” you asked. Seokjin walked fully into the room and closed the door.
“About… the twins? I… I don’t know what you’re thinking about, and that’s valid, but… I think you should maybe let them see her?” Seokjin didn’t fidget like the rest of the kids did. He leaned against the door, arms crossed and focused his eyes fully on you. It was moments like these when you realized exactly how mature your eldest was, and you recognized that most of it wasn’t because of you. Namjoon and Yoongi were you. Seokjin had probably been raising himself for longer than he’s lived with you.
“Okay,” you said.
“I just… if it was me, I would want to know that she still cared, right? And she does, I guess. You mentioned that she sends them money, and she wrote you a letter asking forgiveness, so that has to mean something. I just don’t want them feeling abandoned like the rest of us. Not if they don’t have to.”
“I’m just worried that it will confuse them even more,” you admitted. “It took weeks before Jimin would talk to us openly. Jieun-ssi isn’t going to stay. She’ll come for an afternoon or a day, take the kids out, spoil them, and then bring them back here, and they’ll both be wondering why. And I don’t know how to answer that question.”
“With the truth, obviously,” Seokjin rolled his eyes. “You’re always straight-forward with us. Why should this be any different?” Because they’re younger than you were. Because they were given away, not abandoned. Because their parent still cares from a distance. Because I don’t like making you all cry. Because picking up pieces has never been fun.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right,” you said instead. “I’ll think about it.”
“Okay,” Seokjin nodded, and you can see him visibly deflate, relieved to be finished with the conversation. “That’s all I wanted to say. Don’t forget to take your lunch with you.”
“Make sure all the kids have theirs,” you countered.
“It’s funny because you thought I didn’t already do that,”
“I love you, Kim Seokjin,” was your response.
“I love you too, I guess.”
=======
Your talk with Seokjin gave you a new perspective, but you still felt apprehensive about everything. You just didn’t like the idea of hurting Jimin and Taehyung any more than they already have been. What type of guardian would you be if you just let them walk back into heartbreak? What if this was just a one-time visit and Song Jieun never came to see her children again? What do you do when the boys ask to see her again? You had been lucky that you only had to have one conversation about not being able to take the boys to see their mother in the last six months, but if Jieun could make the time and the trip to come visit, then what will be your excuse now? What if this visit was actually a prelude to taking the boys back home with her?
Oh.
Huh.
So that was the real problem then. You didn’t want the boys to leave you. As much as you groaned and complained about taking in so many kids -- usually just to yourself, but sometimes your stress got the better of you in front of the kids -- you loved them. Each one of them, you loved and adored them and the thought of any of them leaving you or being taken away hurt. Not only that, but where in the hell would any of those parents get off, what right did any of them have to come to you and even fix their mouths to ask you for “their” kid back? You had words prepared for each and every so-called “parent” of all seven of your boys, copies of your lost child police reports, drafts of parental rights transfer papers, the phone number for several NCPA lawyers, and a fist just itching to make contact.
But what if Taehyung and Jimin preferred to be with Jieun anyway? She is their mother. She raised them for years, even if she was Jimin’s stepmother. You’ve only had the “twins” as you and the older boys had taken to calling them, for six months. Why would they want to stay with you?
“Okay, but she didn’t say she wants to take the kids,” you told yourself against the slew of depressing thoughts. You retrieved your phone from your pocket and opened your emails. Finally pressed reply. “She just wants to visit. A visit is… safe. It’ll be okay.”
Probably.
=======
Later that day you received a new email. Song Jieun will be in town that weekend. Tomorrow.
It took a lot of effort for you not to swear and make plans to take the kids out of town.
=======
Song Jieun was pretty. She wasn’t particularly tall or “skinny” like what TV liked to portray, but she was hippy and had a cute face and short hair that she curled most days. She favored dresses with blazers or oversized sweaters and skinny jeans, with pale makeup and dark pink lipsticks. It was easy to pick her out at the cafe she asked to meet at. She sat alone off to the side, a coffee already in front of her, but two plates with fruit-decorated cakes were also placed nearby. You considered telling her that the boys weren’t allowed any sweets right now. It wouldn’t have been a lie, but it wasn’t the whole truth either. They weren’t allowed sweet things like cakes until after dinner and only when they behaved well. Still, you decided that was just your frustration and jealousy talking. You didn’t want to punish the two boys because of their mother, so you bite your tongue and hold your bitterness and let it go.
“Jieun-ssi,” you greet uselessly, as the moment Taehyung and JImin saw her they sprinted across the room to tackle the woman in hugs. Jieun’s smile stretched across her face and she cooed and made cute noises as she greeted her sons in return. You felt something creep in your chest that felt a lot like jealousy. But you weren’t jealous. You couldn’t be. You just hugged them this morning when they tried to tickle you awake. You held both of their hands from your house to the cafe. You had nothing to be jealous of, they were your kids now.
“How have you been?” Jieun asked when you sat down across from her. Jimin and Taehyung were already seated and digging into the cakes she bought for them. You barely had a chance to answer before your chatterbox was rattling off every activity he’s done for the last six months to his mother. Jimin grinned and threw in his two-cent’s worth every few minutes, but generally let Taehyung carry the conversation for him. And you, in spite of all of the emotions pressing on your chest and clouding your judgement and making you really, really want to shake Song Jieun, you enjoy yourself. You watch your boys -- your boys -- smile and chatter and sing and show off for their mother. You wonder if they’ll be okay going home, if you’ll have tears to clean up later, or arguments to break up, or just pieces to sort out and glue, but right now the kids are happy, and right now, that’s what you’ll enjoy.
=======
Taehyung climbed into your bed that night. He should have been asleep an hour ago at least, you’re sure, but he’s seemed to have a lot on his mind since this afternoon, and you’ve been letting the kid have his own space to figure out his thoughts. As hyper as he normally is, Taehyung is also prone to moments where he just sits and fiddles and thinks and you’ve learned that it doesn’t do any good to bother him about it.
“Can’t sleep?” Taehyung shook his head as he slid across the blankets to bury his face into your shirt. You curled an arm around his shoulders and held him close.
“Mommy…” Taehyung started and trailed off. “Is Mommy happy without me?”
It felt like your heart stopped with the words of his question, but you continued to brush his hair with your fingers. It was a difficult question to answer. You wanted to be honest, but you also didn’t want to hurt him. Unfortunately, there weren’t too many ways to answer without hurting Taehyung one way or another.
“What do you mean?” Taehyung was quiet for another short moment before he spoke again.
“Mommy… didn’t seem sad. And she said she’ll see us another time. And… she got married, but she didn’t want to keep me and Jiminie… So I started wondering… is she happy now? Happier than she was before when it was just me and her and Jiminie? Did we -- I don’t think -- I --” And the kid seemed to break then, all of the tears that hadn’t been shed for six months seeming to finally culminate into an emotional outburst. You shushed him, holding him just a little more tightly, and the fingers in his hair moved down to stroke his back. This was the thing you had wanted to avoid, and while part of you felt satisfied to be right, most of you just fought your own tears. It hurt to see one of your kids so hurt. You aren’t a stranger to crying children, but this emotional distress was something that never got better. You thought that maybe Jieun had talked to the boys beforehand, maybe Taehyung had dealt with his emotions before he came to live with you and that was why he seemed so well-adjusted. Clearly, Taehyung had just been living in denial, or maybe with the belief that his mother would come back for him “later,” that you were only a temporary home.
“This isn’t your fault, Taetae,” you murmured. “You didn’t do anything wrong. Sometimes… sometimes adults make hard decisions. We think we’re doing the right thing and… sometimes it’s hard to see if we’ve made the right choice or not.” You sighed, picking through your words super carefully. “I think… I think that your mother made what she thought was the best decision for both herself and for you and Jimin. She believed she would be happy with her new husband. But she did not believe you and Jiminie would be happy. So she put you somewhere that you could be. Does that make sense?”
“Yeah, but I’m still sad,” Taehyung cried harder.
“I know,” you said, “and that’s okay. I would be sad too.”
“I just want my mommy back,”
“I know.”
“I don’t want you to get married,” Taehyung said suddenly, long after his sobs had calmed down. Tears still fell, but slowly now. “I don’t want you to send me away too.”
“If you listen to your Jinnie-hyung, he says that won’t happen because I don’t date anyway.”
“Mommy didn’t date for a long time… and then she did. And then she got married.”
“I won’t get rid of you even if I did get married, Taetae,” you told him.
“You’re still not allowed to get married,” he argued. “Or date. You have to be mine forever and ever, okay?”
“No matter what, I will be yours forever and ever,” you agreed.
“Can I sleep here tonight?” Taehyung asked. “I'm comfy and you make me not sad.”
“Of course,” you said. “You’re comfy like a teddy bear, I don’t want you to go.”
=======
In the morning, Taehyung was bouncing off the walls, screaming as he chased Jungkook around the house. Jimin was curled into a corner of the sofa, giggling while he watched his brothers play and encouraging Taehyung in his antics. You could hardly tell that Taehyung had an emotional breakdown the previous night. You knew he was far from being “over” his feelings about his mother, he was only eight and the feelings were complicated. But he was happy for now and that made you happy. You’ll deal with the noise and the chaos and shout at the kids yet again about running inside where things were breakable including themselves as long as they kept smiling.
Surprisingly, it was Namjoon who came knocking at your door after bedtime that night. Similar to Taehyung, he didn’t speak or ask permission, just closed the door behind him and slid into your bed. Buried himself beneath the blankets and stuck his head beneath the pillow and tucked his gangly limbs into a ball. You were familiar with these moods, but haven’t seen one in years, not since you took in Seokjin. So you finished the chapter you had been reading, turned off the light, and sank down to lay your head on your pillows. Similar to Taehyung, Namjoon would speak when he was ready, when he found the right words to use to express his feelings.
“You really won’t get married, right?” Namjoon whispered beneath the pillow next to you. His voice was heavily muffled, but you’d been waiting for him to speak for some time. You just didn’t expect for him to continue a joke conversation from several days ago.
“What’s wrong with me getting married?” you asked.
“If you get married, you’ll have to get rid of us.”
“There is no world where I will give up any of you just to get married, Namjoon.”
“But that’s what happens, isn’t it?” said Namjoon. “Adults… if they aren’t married, but they have kids… they get rid of them so that they can date. Because kids get in the way. Because it’s stupid to take care of other people’s kids.”
“Why does it sound like you just called me stupid?” Your sarcasm probably wasn’t appropriate for the moment, but the words slipped before you thought about it.
“We’re really lucky to have you, we know that,” said Namjoon. “But that just means --”
“Namjoon, I’m going to stop you right there,” you cut him off before he finishes. You remove the pillow from his face so that he can hear you clearly, and card your fingers through his hair. “I didn’t create any of you. I didn’t ask for any of you. But I have you. And I love you. I adore you. I will tear apart skies, drain oceans, and vanquish God if it will keep you all safe and happy, okay? If your parents ever come back for you, I will press charges against them and make it so that they can never look at you, let alone hurt you ever again, do you understand me, Kim Namjoon? You and Yoongi and Jungkook and Seokjin and Hoseok and Taehyung and Jimin, you’re all mine. You’re my kids, all seven of you, and I will be damned if any lover or spouse, or anything at all, comes between me and you. I don’t say that because it sounds good -- although seriously, you have to admit that this is one of my better speeches,” -- at that, Namjoon giggled, the noise muted and soft, but a win was a win -- “but I say these things because I mean them. I will put a brick in the hospital for you, Joonie.” You hesitate, but continue anyway. “If it weren’t for you, I may have left the country at the end of that year. Teaching is fun, but I wasn’t super happy before. But then you asked me to take you home and you were so cute that I got attached almost immediately. I didn’t want to take you to the police and have them send you to your parents. I liked having someone to come home to. I liked taking care of you. Most people go get a pet or a lover when they’re feeling lonely, but here’s me, collecting kids like you’re pokemon cards.”
“No one collects pokemon cards anymore,”
“What, is Yu-Gi-Oh back in style?”
“What even is that?”
“The coolest card game ever. Period.” Namjoon laughs again, and you feel accomplished.
“It’s not that cool if I’ve never heard of it,” Namjoon argues.
“Joonie. I love you. But even I know you aren’t the coolest among your classmates.”
“I’m the coolest out of all my friends!”
“I won’t argue about that. I’m also sure that in your group of friends, ‘coolest’ means ‘knows the biggest words and has the best grades.’”
“You’re just jealous,”
“Absolutely. I wish I knew as many words as you do. Imagine how much fun I’d have fussing at you kids in Smart People language!”
“Why are you like this?”
“Please, other kids wish they had someone as cool as me taking care of them.”
Namjoon cuddled closer to you in the bed, laying his head on your shoulder and gripping your pajama shirt. You spend a few minutes massaging his scalp, a soothing gesture for you just as much as it is for him. After a few minutes, you begin drifting off, believing Namjoon is on the verge of sleep as well.
“Are you really okay?” he asks. “With taking care of all of us? You don’t… want to go back home?”
“I am home, silly,” you flick the side of his head gently. “I love you. And even if I wanted to go back to my home country, don’t think I won’t take each one of you with me. I said you’re mine. I mean it.”
“Okay.”
And it’s not that you don’t believe him, but you know your kid. You know he internalizes things and finds convoluted ways to take blame for other peoples’ problems, including your own. You know it will be a while yet before he truly accepts and believes you when you say you want to keep him and enjoy taking care of him. But you also know that he wants to believe you and he’s trying. You idly wonder if you’ll have to have some sort of discussion in the morning, an announcement over breakfast that no children will be displaced in the event of an unlikely wedding. You dismiss the thought, deciding it was more likely to incite panic and give you a headache more than anything else.

CIRLCE WEEK - Robert Lightwood
Robert grabbed himself some coffee in one of those beige paper cups. It tasted absolutely awful. But he wasn’t here for the coffee.
He found the usual dingy smell welcoming. The background noise of other people chatting aimlessly about their mundane lives was not bad either.
These were people who Robert wouldn’t have thought he would relate to on any possible level. One of them was worked in an insurance company. The other was worked in a coffee shop called sunbucks.
One of them was even called Blaze.
Robert sat down in his regular spot, the one closest to the exit. He always sat in a corner. He never engaged. That was his only rule.
He knew the whole point was to engage. But he wasn’t there yet.
For now, he just listened.
And he scared him how much people could learn if they simply listened to each other.
Mudanes were not like shadowhunters, Robert thought. They liked to share. Overshare even. Why else would anyone want to sit in a circle and talk about how they feel?
“Hi everyone! My name is Phil!” someone said in front of the room.
“Hello, Phil!” Robert chanted with the rest of them.
And Phil started talking. Sharing.
He talked about his daughter Jean – who apparently was going through a phase. She had gotten married to her ‘close friend’ Abby last month.
Robert didn’t really get why.
But he supposed it didn’t matter. He wasn’t here for Jean.
He was here for Alec.
The meeting went on. With every parent talking about their children. They called them words Robert didn’t understand. But he gathered enough to realize they weren’t nice.
“I just don’t want her to ruin her future,” Jean’s father was saying now. “She doesn’t get it. I love her. I’m saying all of this because I love her.”
Robert could relate to that.
His biggest fear during all of this had been the fact that Alec might end up thinking Robert hated his own son.
Robert could never. Not even if he tried.
He didn’t hate Alec. He was worried. He was worry about his future.
Isn’t that what parents are supposed to do?
“Jean is such a people’s person, you know? She loves being the favorite person in the room. She once baked cookies during Christmas and gave it to the entire neighborhood,” Phil chuckled, reliving the fond memory. “But now…People barely want to talk to her. She says it doesn’t matter. How could it not? How could what other people think of her not matter anymore? Just like that?”
Robert nodded. Alec had been angry. He had been disappointed that Robert wasn’t more supportive of his relationship with Magnus.
But Robert couldn’t help but wonder if Alec worried about the opinions of others. What about the Clave? Surely, he must be worried about what the Clave thought?
“You see, she went to Havard,” Phil went on. “Graduated top of her class. Now she…I don’t know. Who would want to work with someone like that?”
And there was that.
Alec wasn’t like Jace or Isabelle. Robert had always known.
Alec was not just a fighter – he was a leader.
He had seen it in the way he always had his siblings’ backs while they trained. He had seen it in the way Alec always took the blame when one of Jace’s pranks went wrong. He had seen it the way Alec had kept it together for the sake of the family during Max’s passing.
He was destined for greatness and he was throwing it all away.
As Phil finished talking about Jean and some other parent got up to talk about their child, Robert wondered if these discussions made any difference.
He had come because Maryse had asked him to. He had felt obligated to do as she told after everything that had transpired between the two of them.
But he got a feeling that he shouldn’t be here if he didn’t want to.
Of course Maryse would be disappointed. He knew he would learn more if he stayed or came back for one more but oh well....
So, at the end of the meeting, Robert slipped out - quietly and alone as he usually did.
It was raining outside the building and Robert didn’t have an umbrella.
He chuckled to himself, remembering the time Alec had believed umbrellas were actually from a hell dimension and therefore needed to be cut off swiftly with a seraph blade.
“What a load of crap, right?”
Robert looked up to see Blaze standing next to him, seeking shelter from the rain next to Robert.
“Pardon?” Robert asked.
“Inside,” the man gestured with his head. “What the pastor was saying. Some horseshit about god making all of us in his likeness. I say send them all away to some camp where they will learn how to be real men!”
“What about the women?” Robert asked.
“Huh?” the man grunted.
“The women,” Robert repeated. “The women who…you know. Like Jean.”
“Oh,” the man blinked, as if he hadn’t thought about what would happen to the women at all. “Should just marry them all off. All they need is some good dicking.”
Robert flinched.
“I know I know,” the man put up his hands. “You’re wondering why I’m here if I’m against it, huh? Well, basically my dumb wife wouldn’t give me my allowance unless I “make an effort”.
“Oh,” Robert said.
“I know,” the man nodded sadly. “You know. I loved my daughter.”
“Loved?” Robert echoed in concern. “Is she alright?”
“Well, I certainly wouldn’t say so,” the man grumbled. “Named her Marcella after my mom, you see? She was such a beautiful girl. Could have been one of them movie stars.”
“What happened to her?” Robert asked.
“Him,” the man said quietly. “I’m supposed to call her ‘him’ now. Can you believe this shit? Telling me how to call my own daughter? I fucking named the bitch.”
Robert honestly didn’t know what to say. This was…different.
He had one rule during these meetings. Do not engage.
“So, what’s wrong with your kid?” the man asked, puffing on his cigarette.
“Nothing is wrong with my kid!” Robert said defensively.
He believed what he said. Robert could believe whatever he wanted. But he knew that nothing was wrong with Alec. He was his perfect boy.
“Well, something must be wrong,” the man shrugged. “Otherwise you wouldn’t be here.”
“I’m here because I want to learn,” Robert said through gritted teeth. “I want to try.”
The man snorted. “Well, good fucking luck with that.”
Robert couldn’t tolerate it anymore. He pulled up his coat to cover his head and started walking towards the institute.
“Hey, man!” Blaze ran up after him, his blonde hair already drenched.
Robert halted. He should get rid of him. He can’t be falling him all the way to the institute.
“Listen man, I didn’t mean all that about your kid. I’m sorry, okay,” the man patted him on the back. “Maybe your kid is not fucked up. Maybe mine is the messed up one.”
“Marcella is not messed up,” Robert said. “She needs h-”
“Michael,” the man interrupted. “She goes by Michael now. Or he. Whatever, man. This shit is too hard to keep up with anyway.”
Robert didn’t know what came over him. One moment his hand was clutching on his coat, the next he slammed the man against the alley wall and held his dagger to his throat.
“What the fuck, man?” the man yelled, but it only came out as a quivering whisper. “Put that thing away. Y’all well-dressed people carrying around knives in your expensive coats. You’re crazy!”
This was highly inappropriate. The clave would have his head if they knew. But Robert didn’t hesitate. Not even for a moment. He moved the dagger closer, until it was touching the blonde man’s neck so he could feel the coolness of the metal on his skin.
“Be nice to Michael,” Robert said. “Or I will find you.”
“Listen asshole, who do you think you ar-”
Robert shoved him harder and whipped out a seraph blade – which really got the other man’s attention.
“Alright! Alright!” he put up his hands. “I’ll be nice. I’ll even buy those binder things she was asking for.”
“He,” Robert pointed out.
“He,” the man nodded with a whimper. “Just let me go please.”
Robert let go of him and the man ran towards the main road calling Robert a ‘fucking psycho ninja’.
Robert knew he shouldn’t have done that. But some part of him told him that he had done something nice.
Some part of him told him that he had shown a kindness to that young boy – something he only wished others would show Alec.
Robert pulled up his coat again and kept walking.
Maybe one more meeting next week wouldn’t hurt, would it? They had coffee after all.

The Ties That Bind Us - Part Nine
Summary: When your past comes back to haunt you, who will prevail? Hunting had been your life since you were 4 years old. The monsters that started you on that path were resurfacing, and you knew what you had to do. But nothing is ever truly secret, and nothing is ever that cut and dry with the Winchester’s in tow.
A/N: This is a new one that is coming from a few requests. I’m not going to post the actual requests because…well because it would spoil the story line and I’m pretty into this one.
Words: 2671
Warnings: Violent imagery, traumatic experience, death of family members, blood and gore, language
PART ONE PART TWO PART THREE PART FOUR PART FIVE PART SIX PART SEVEN PART EIGHT
I lay as still as I could in my bed, not allowing myself to make eye contact with him. I knew that if I did, tears would flow and he would pull words from me that I wasn’t ready to say.
“Y/N,” he prodded. “I know there’s something you’re not telling me. Come on.” His words overflowed with irritation and his body was tense. “Just spit it out!” His words came out gravely and a few octaves lower than his normal voice. I had heard him this irate before, but never with me.
“No,” I said, my lips tight as I wrapped my arms around myself. I turned my face towards him, taking in his wide eyes and his gaping mouth as he stared at me in disbelief.
“No? What do you mean, no? No isn’t an option here, Y/N.”
I ran my fingers through my hair, making a mental note to shower as soon as possible. “I can’t. Don’t ask me to.” I pulled my knees into myself, ignoring the twinge of pain it caused as my muscles stretched.
“Too bad,” he decreed, his voice full of imagined authority. “You’ve gotten us here by keeping secrets. By going it alone. That isn’t an option anymore. Just…” His tone softened as he took a breath. “Tell me, please. Tell me what’s going on.”
I inhaled deeply, feeling my chest expand as I attempted to calm myself down. Dean hadn’t known about my past. Not one detail about my family or the monsters that took them from me. Just that I had grown up in the life. Everything in me wanted to keep it that way, but knowing the insistence on his face, I knew I had to give him something.
“They were the ones that killed my parents.” I began, watching him tilt his head like a confused puppy. “The pack. The wolves we came here for.” I took another deep breath in through my nose in another futile attempt to keep myself calmer than I ever could be. “We were at a museum that day. Some anatomy thing where you could climb through a heart like a jungle gym. Spent the whole day there. But, on the way home, the tire blew out or something. Car broke down.”
I swallowed hard now, desperate to stop reliving my worst nightmare. “Dad got out to check it out. Told my mom to stay put. It was some backwoods road. There weren’t any streetlamps and the nearest gas station or house was miles away. The car phone had died on the way to the museum that morning and cell phones weren’t really a thing back then.”
I watched as Dean shook his head, absorbing every word I’d just said.
“Wait, how long ago was this?”
I attempted to rid myself of the giant lump that had now formed in my throat. “I was four.”
The look of pity on his face was heartbreaking and I had never imagined it would ever be aimed at me.
“Dad was outside maybe five minutes when we heard it. Gnashing teeth and ripping flesh. And this gurgling sound. Like a clogged waterfall.” I rubbed my neck with my hand, wishing the conversation was over. “Mom got out to help. But she hadn’t even closed the passenger door when her head was smashed through the window. Hard enough for the blood to spray onto me in the backseat.”
“Shit, Y/N.”
I shook my head, dismissively. “I was four,” I shrugged. “I didn’t even know to scream. I just waited for it to get quiet and went and looked for my parents.” I reached out and grabbed the cup of water that sat on my bedside table, taking a slow sip. “Dad’s body was still on the ground by the hood. The gurgling sound was still there.” I looked up at Dean again. “It was his own blood. They’d ripped his throat open. Too impatient or hungry I guess. But Dad’s eyes were open. Completely dead inside, but open, starring at me, while his corpse finished bleeding out.”
“You don’t have to-“ I cut Dean off.
“Mom was a little further away. Her, they were quick about at least. Snapped her neck when they bashed her head in I guess. Still ripped her heart out though. Left her body on the side of the road.”
Dean stood up and took a seat on the sliver of mattress that my bent legs had left exposed at the foot of it. His hands were running up and down my thighs in an attempt to soothe me.
“What happened to you after that?”
I shrugged my shoulders again. “I wandered for a while. The pack was long gone, and I didn’t know where we were. What to do. Just walked. Until I couldn’t walk anymore.”
“Wait, you walked? Like little four-year-old you, wandering the woods alone? How long?”
I pulled on my earlobe, yanking it between my thumb and forefinger. “Few days I guess? Some locals found me passed out and starving little less than a week later.” I laughed morbidly at myself. “If I had walked ten more yards, I’d have made it to their front door. Just my luck I guess.”
Dean’s silence filled the room as he clenched his fingers around my knees. “I shouldn’t have made you….I’m sorry.” I turned my head from side to side, dismissively.
“Not your fault. I probably should’ve told you a while ago.” I gave him a forced smile, restraining the tears that threated to get loose.
“Well, whatever the past, you ganked ‘em in the end. Not that I approve of how you did it, but you got them.”
“Yeah,” I whispered. “Sweet victory.” My tone was insincere as I leaned the side of my face against my crossed arms. “Dean, I’m pretty beat.”
“Yeah, of course,” he accepted. “Get some sleep. I’ll just head-“
“Don’t leave,” I begged, grabbing at his hands as they began to move away from me. “Please. Stay? I’d feel better if you stayed.” I hadn’t realized how terrified the premise of being alone would leave me. “I mean, only if you want to.”
Dean ran his fingers over my face, tucking in a stray bit of hair. “Always,” he whispered.
I moved to lay down, turning myself onto my side to make room as Dean spread himself over the bed. “Need me to scootch over?”
He looked at me as if I were crazy. “It’s your bed, Y/N. And you’re the injured one. I’m not that big of an ass.” He tucked me into his side, resting his hand on my shoulder as his arm would around me. “Sleep.”
I shut my eyes slowly, taking in a deep breath and filling my lungs with the distinct scent of Dean. But as soon as I began to drift off, the sing-song voice of a nurse came in declaring that moment to be the opportune time to check my vitals.
I whined in response as she pressed a button on one of the screens resulting in the cuff around my arm to start squeezing. “Can we be done with that?”
Dean had gotten out of the bed but stood just next to me, continuing to hold my hand.
“Sorry sweetie,” the nurse answered. “Every four hours until you’re discharged.”
“Then I’m discharged now.” I answered coldly, my eyes squinting shut.
“Not funny,” Dean chastised, squeezing my fingers tightly.
“Not joking,” I followed up. “I want to go home. Now.”
I looked over to the nurse whose stunned expression told me she would not be on my team on this one.
“I mean it. I’ll sign whatever papers I need to, do whatever. But I’m going home. Now.”
Releasing Dean’s hand, I threw back the covers and kicked my legs off the side of the bed, quicker than I had intended. The dizziness had me wobbling as I stood, getting onto my feet. Instantly, he was at my side reaching to help steady me. I held my hand up, keeping him at a distance.
“Damnit, Y/N.” Dean muttered under his breath but just loud enough for me to hear him. I glared at him in response.
“Leaving against medical advice is not usually a good solution. Especially in your condition. You’re going to need physical therapy and a lot of care. We can provide that for you.” The nurse was doing her best to convince me to stay, but with my mind already made up, I began opening cabinets until I found the bag with my clothes in it. One of the boys had brought my duffle to the room for me and I quickly found a set of clothing that was clean enough.
“I get it,” I snapped back. “Not a good idea. I’m leaving against medical advice which is obviously against medical advice.” The frustration in my voice was tangible as I slipped a pair of black yoga pants out of the bag and began dragging them up my legs. “Doesn’t change the fact that it’s what I’m doing.”
The nurse breezed passed me as she muttered under her breath that she’d get the paperwork. I pulled out my oversized nightshirt; an old white band tee for a concert that I hadn’t attended in a city that I’d most likely never been to. But it smelled like home and wrapped me in the warmth that I so desperately craved.
“Hold this for me, will you?” I held my duffle bag out towards Dean, expecting him to grab it but was left wanting. Slowly, I raised my eyes to his and lifted my eyebrows, inclining my head as if to ask him what he was waiting for.
“You realize this is insane right? What, do you have a death wish or something?” I rolled my eyes at him in response, tossing the bag to the ground as I let go of the straps I had been holding onto and turned my attention back to the cabinets, ensuring all of my personal items were accounted for.
“I think that’s everything. I’ll sign the papers, and then we go, yeah?”
Dean chuckled louder than I was used to as he shook his head and said, “No way.” I looked at him expectantly, resolute with my decision.
His amusement died down and his face grew serious as he wordlessly pulled out his phone and brought it to his ear.
“Yeah, it’s me. Look, she’s trying to leave the hospital. Yeah,” he paused. “I know. She’s being a stubborn ass.” He said the words pointedly as he glared at me. “Well then, Sammy, you try to talk some sense into her cause she’s not listening to anybody over here!”
Rolling my eyes again, I began removing the various tubes and monitors that still connected me to the machines. The oxygen came off without a hitch, and the blood pressure cuff was simple enough. But the IV that was plastered to the back of my hand proved more difficult.
“I’ll do it,” the nurse sighed angrily as she stormed back into the room, setting a small stack of paperwork down on the table as she did so. Her fingers expertly pulled at the tape and removed the needle from my hand without a fuss. “You’re going to need a ton of fluids,” she began giving me my discharge instructions as she handed the paperwork over to me.
Dean hung up the phone and began listening intently, hovering over me as he did so.
“I mean a ton of fluids. No coffee, tea, soda. I mean water. Electrolytes. Fluids that aren’t caffeinated or carbonated. There’re four prescriptions in her. One for a very strong antibiotic, one for an anti-inflammatory drug, strong pain meds, and one to help with the nausea that the others may cause.” She pointed out each on the paperwork as she went through it. “Take them. All of them.” Her intense gaze and stern tone let me know she wasn’t exaggerating. I nodded affirmatively.
“Good,” she responded. “Bed rest for the next few days. No strenuous movements,” she turned her gaze to Dean then. “If she pops another staple outside of the hospital, her chances of infection or bleeding out again are very, very high.” He nodded in acceptance.
“You need to do physical therapy. Hire a therapist, do simple exercise, use a cane, whatever you need to do. Just keep moving a little each day.”
She turned to the last page. “This form releases the hospital from any and all liability. It confirms that you’re aware that you’re leaving the hospital against the best of medical information and against the physician’s wishes. You’ve every right to do so but, just so we’re clear, we think this is a very bad idea.”
I gave her a small smile. “Yes ma’am, I am.” I picked up the pen that was laying on the table where the paperwork had been and signed my name quickly. “All done?”
The nurse shook her head disapprovingly. “That’s all the paperwork and you’ve already taken the liberty of disconnecting everything. I’ll go get a wheelchair and you can be on your way.”
I thanked her as she walked out of the room and could feel Dean’s eyes boring into the side of my face.
“What?” I snapped, turning my head quickly to look at him.
“You’re an idiot.”
“So, I’ve been told. But there’s that whole thing about it takes one to know one.” I smiled at him wickedly as I waited for the nurse to return with the wheelchair. It only took a few minutes, and I was settled into my wheeled escort, being pushed gently through the halls towards the exit.
“Sir,” the nurse spoke up, gesturing to Dean. “You may want to run ahead and pull the car around, so she doesn’t have to wait outside long. It gets pretty chilly a night.” Dean did as he was asked, putting one foot in front of the other in a quick jog as his bowed legs carried him ahead and out to the parking lot.
“You’ll be the death of that boy if you keep carrying on like this you know,” the nurse joked. “Or he’ll be the death of you. Either way, just be careful, yeah?” She rested her hand on my shoulder as I laughed, giving her my word.
I heard the familiar growl of the Impala’s engine pull up just outside the door as we triggered the auto sensor for the automatic sliding doors. Dean was running around the back and pulling the passenger side door open when we rolled up. The nurse locked the wheels of the chair in place as I slowly pushed myself up to standing, using Dean’s offered arm as leverage to assist me.
The nurse handed him my folder full of paperwork which he then securely held in his hand. “If I could get her to stay,” he began. The nurse shrugged in a what-are-you-gonna-do fashion and waved at me. I lazily returned the goodbye as I rested my head back in my seat and reached for my seat belt. Before I could grasp it, Dean’s hand was pulling the belt across my lap, gingerly tucking it into the buckle and adjusting the belt across my lap, avoiding my injury as best as he could.
Shaking his head lightly, he slowly leaned his face towards mine, capturing my lips with his own as they worked against me. The heat of his mouth breathed into my own as his tongue grazed the tip of mine, and the breathtaking feel of his soft, full lips against mine was dizzying. He pulled away slowly, pressing one last chaste kiss against my lips as he did.
“Keep kissing me like that, and we’re going to need to pick up one of those oxygen tanks,” I joked.
“Stubborn. Ass.” He breathed out the accusation as he closed my door for me and walked around to the driver’s side and taking his seat.
To be continued….

After filming her latest movie After, overseas for the last year 26 year old Yn Morgan was seen headed to Virginia
I hold my phone in my hand as I pose for pictures with the fans I ran into at the airport even though I look like a literal pile of shit. I work with what I have which is filters and when they are done taking photos on their phone I pull out my phone and I go to my Snapchat and I use my phone to take selfies with fans and I take like 8 before adding them to my Instagram story, getting all of their instagrams so that I can tag them.
"Arrived home to so much love. I love you all 😘💕" I add to my Instagram story as well.
"Thank you so much Yn" one of them says.
"Of course no problem" I say hugging them again before my phone starts going off.
"It was nice meeting you all, I'll follow you when I get home" I say walking off and picking up my phone.
"Hey dad" I say as soon as I pick up.
"Hey baby did you land?" He asks.
"Yeah, are you here?" I ask looking around as I grab my suitcase.
"Yeah, I'm walking up right now. I had to park pretty far" he says.
"Okay, I'm making my way to the entrance" I say putting my suitcase down and wheeling it behind me and when I see him, I run over to him and he catches he, pulling me into a hug and I hug him back.
"Hi daddy" I say kissing his head.
"Hey baby. How was the flight?" He asks and I smile at him.
"To be honest I don't know. I was so excited to see Hank that I slept the whole time because if I didn't I would have exploded" I say and he laughs.
"How long has it been?" He asks.
"I only seen him when he was in the hospital and then I was filming supernatural and then when that wrapped I had to fly out from Canada to London to start filming After" I say.
"It's going to be so good to see him in person and not just over FaceTime" I say and he grabs my suitcase.
"Well he's waiting so let's go" he says leading the way.
"Are you okay?" He asks as he gets in after putting my suitcases in the trunk and I nod.
"Yeah, it's just a little weird if I'm being honest" I say buckling up.
"I haven't seen Savannah in so long and I don't want to feel like I'm intruding" I say and he quickly shakes his head.
"I understand, it's a new place. But take your time it's no rush to get use to things. And it's only two weeks but if it was longer you wouldn't be intruding. She's waiting to get some girl time in with you" he says smiling at me before he drives off.
"A few of my former colleagues are coming over for dinner tonight. So I'm just letting you know so you have time to shower and get ready" he says.
"Thank you for the warning. I need time to get presentable" I say smiling at him.
"Welcome home" he says opening the door and I walk inside happy to finally be here instead of living out of a hotel for the past year and a half.
"You did such a good job with the house, it looks nothing like how it use to look" I say looking around.
"Hey sweetie" I hear and Savannah walks around the corner.
"Hey" I say and she hugs me and I hug her back.
"I just started dinner, so you have time to get ready" she says and I nod and Hank runs around the corner.
"Ynn" he says running over to me hugging me.
"Hi Bubba" I say picking him up.
"You've gotten some big and cute. How old are you now?" I ask kissing his head.
"I'm three" he says holding up four fingers and I put one down, smiling at him.
"That's so crazy. I remember seeing you in the hospital as a little baby" I say.
"You seen me in the hospital?" He asks and I nod.
"Yeah, I was one of the first people to hold you" I say brushing his hair out his face.
"Hank, let Yn go shower" Savannah says.
"We'll finish this conversation later" I say putting him down and holding out my fist and he fist bumps me before running off into the kitchen.
"Everything is pretty much exactly where it was it's just updated so you should have no problem finding your way" my dad says and I turn to him nodding.
"Okay" I say going up the stairs to shower and get ready.
I walk down the stairs and I hear a lot of talking and laughing and I tug on my dress before walking around the corner "hey Yn come here" my dad says opening his arms and I walk over and he hugs me, wrapping one arm around my shoulder.
"This is my best friend Penelope, Penelope this is my daughter Yn" he says introducing me to the first person I see.
"You didn't tell me your daughter was the Yn Morgan" she says and I smile at her.
"Well I feel like I'm the only one" I say laughing.
"But it's nice to meet you" I say going to shake her hand but she pulls me into a hug.
"You are so beautiful" she says and I hug her back.
"Thank you" I say smiling at her.
"This is Matt and his wife Kristy, Hotch and his wife Renae, Luke, Tara, Rossi, JJ and her husband Will, Emily and Spencer" he says introducing me to everyone and I shake all of their hands.
"It's really good to meet you all" I say smiling at them.
"I'm with Penelope here. You didn't tell us who your daughter actually was" Luke says and I turn to my dad.
"It never came up" he says and Renae laughs.
"Never came up? We've known you for like 17 years" she says.
"Geez it's almost like you're embarrassed of me" I joke and he laughs rolling his eyes.
"How long are you with your dad?" Matt asks.
"Two weeks, I'm off from filming for a while so I decided to visit them" I say and he smiles at me and I smile back and Savannah hands me a glass of wine and I sip on it.
"You're an actress right?" Kristy asks and I nod.
"Yeah I am" I say smiling at her.
"What's that like?" She asks.
"When I was younger it was a really hard time for me, I started out on a show and then my mom made me join another cast at the same time and I was doing two shows at once and I wasn't use to it so I was very moody and always tired and then after that I did a season of a show and I was quickly done with that because it sucked so I moved on to movies to let myself relax" I say taking a sip of my wine.
"And you do both now right?" JJ asks.
"Yeah, recently I started doing tv again" I say.
"You were in the Netflix series. I think it was called a Time" Will says and I nod.
"Yeah, that's what made me want to start tv again and then I did a show called euphoria with one of my best friends who is like a little sister to me and then I did supernatural and went to work on a movie" I say.
"My girlfriend and I watched Euphoria" Tara says.
"What did you think?" I ask.
"You were so good. We talked about how you and Zendaya played the roles you got so good that it seemed so real" she says and I laugh awkwardly because for me it is very real.
"She told me the day she started filming that Savannah and I weren't allowed to watch it" my dad says wrapping his arm around Savannah.
"Her parts in the show weren't as bad as others but yeah as her parents I wouldn't watch it" she says and everyone laughs.
"What else are you in?" Spencer asks.
"Im in a new series called the umbrella academy. It came out earlier this year and I occasionally do a show called 9-1-1" I say.
"So you've been busy?" Renae asked and I nod.
"Extremely, but I like it. It helps me stay active so I don’t have rid to start thinking" I say drinking the last of my wine.
"I'm going to get a refill. Does anyone need anything?" I ask and they all shake their head continuing on the conversation and I go into the kitchen and I go to the wine and I pour me a glass and I take the plastic baggie out my bra and I put a little on my finger and I stick the bag back in my bra and I hear the door open so I brush it off and I look up to see Spencer and he smiles at me and I smile back.
"Hey" I say.
"Hi, can you top me off?" He asks setting his cup on the island and I nod pouring him a glass and I sit on the cabinet refilling mine.
"So Spencer" I say smiling at him.
"Yeah?" He asks, awkwardly smiling back.
"What do you like to do in your free time?" I ask.
"I don't really get free time but I guess I would have to say I like to read" he says.
"Oh yeah I can see that" I say and I grab my purse that’s on the far end of the cabinet, pulling the book out.
"You've probably read this but if you haven't you should give it a read and let me know what you thought about it. I just finished reading it on the flight here" I say handing it to him.
"How am I going to do that?" He asks and I pull a pen out and I open the front of the book, quickly writing my number in the top of the front cover.
"There you go. I don't know how fast you read but it took me three days so I'll be waiting on the call" I say.
"It's actually not going to take me that long" he says opening the front page again and he reads the first and second page in like 30 seconds.
"Oh my god I totally forgot you're like a genius" I say and he laughs.
"I'm not a genius" he says.
"Something only a genius would say" I say laughing and he looks up as I'm drinking my wine.
"Are you sure you want to give this to me?" He asks and I nod.
"I mean it's a bit too late, I was trying to be cute and write my number down" I say and he blushes a little.
"Yeah, you're right" he says quietly and I giggle.
"Hey, nothing to be embarrassed about" I say holding up my wine glass and I nod to him and he holds his up.
"Here's to fast friend outside of our careers and good books" I say and he taps his glass against mine at the same time I go to tap mine against his and I fall forward applying too much pressure and I catch myself but I break both glasses and the wine falls out and I instantly start laughing.
"Oh my god, I am so sorry" I say and he laughs with me and I jump down to grab some paper towels so I can clean up and he helps me and I hear the door open and I look up.
"Everything okay in here?" Savannah asks and I look up quickly over the island.
"Mhm" I say.
"All is good" Spencer says and she raises a brow.
"Whatever you heard nothing is broke" I say and she laughs.
"If you need another glass they are in the cabinet beside the stove" she says and the door closes and I finish cleaning and I sit back on the floor, with my back pressed against the island and Spencer grabs us more glasses and refills them and sits beside me handing me one.
"Thank you" I say and he smiles at me.
"Here's to fast friends outside of our careers, good books and extra wine glasses" he says and I snort laughing.
"Here here" I say gently tapping his glass and we both drink at the same time.
"Anyone ever tell you how easy it is to get along with you?" I ask and he quickly shakes his head laughing.
"Never and you only say that because I've had to stop myself from pulling out all the ramblings and unwanted facts" he says and I laugh.
"Don't let me stop you, I'd love to hear some of your best facts" I say and he smiles at me and I smile back and I start to lean in and the door opens and we both quickly pull away.
"And that's when I walked out of the Emmy's" I say and my dad clears his throat and I stand up.
"What's going on in here?" He asks.
"Well I was coming in here to refill my glass" I say.
"20 minutes ago" he says.
"And Spencer came in and we started talking and I gave him a book and then I went to cheers his glass and I broke both of ours and had to clean it up and then savannah came in and told us where the spare glasses were and then we refilled our glasses" I say and Spencer stands up.
"Leave them alone" Savannah says coming in to check dinner and I laugh at my dads face and Spencer's phone goes and he looks at it and he sighs.
"I have to go" he says and my dad nods.
"I'll walk you out" I say.
"You don't have to" he says.
"I know but I want to" I say.
"Be careful and I'll see you Sunday" my dad says hugging Spencer who hugs him back and then he hugs savannah as I walk into the living room.
"There you are Yn" Penelope says and I smile.
"I'll be right back to talk, I'm going to walk Spencer out" I say and she nods and Spencer comes to say bye to everyone and I walk him out.
"It was nice getting to meet you, you are way cooler than what I've heard" I say laughing and he laughs and it dies down and it gets awkward.
"Okay I'm just going to come out and say it because I've learned my whole life to just be bold but I like you, like really like you and the time I've talked to you has been the most fun I've had in like the past year and I know it might be weird because our age gap and the fact that I'm Derek's daughter and you're probably taken because only an idiot would ever turn you down and now I'm regretting even saying anything about liking you but it's true and I'm sorry if things are weird between us now but I thought we were having a moment in the kitchen earlier but I'm an idiot and I don't actually know if it was what I-" he cuts my endless rambling off with a kiss and I kiss him back before he pulls away.
"I'm sorry I don't know why I did that" he says.
"It's okay, I don't mind" I say smiling at him.
"I wouldn't normally do that but there's just something about you" he says and I push his hair out of his face, my smile growing bigger and I clear my throat.
"I should head back inside before they get suspicious but call me when you finish the book" I say and he squeezes my hand and I smile at him running back inside and when I get into the house I watch him pull off and I shut the door.

* this is not my gif! if it’s yours, please let me know so i can give you proper credit!!
You were at work when your phone started ringing in the break room. You were sat at a table, munching on a salad for lunch. Your eyebrows furrowed when you saw Kiara’s name across the top. The Pogues and you had an agreement not to call each other work unless it was important. You slid your finger across the bottom to answer and swallowed your bite of food.
“Kie? Everything okay?” you said as you held the phone to your ear.
“No everything is not okay!” she exclaimed loudly on the other end. You pulled the phone away from your ear in shock before bringing it back. “John B just brought Sarah Cameron over here. They’ve been macking behind our backs and he lied about it!”
Your eyebrows furrowed and you dropped the plastic fork into your bowl. Topper and Sarah had just gone to Midsummers together. You’d just seen them at the country club the other day because, as fate would have it, they got sat in your section. You had to watch them disgustingly flirt across the table the whole time you tried to wait on them.
“She was cheating on Topper?” you more so stated than asked in realization.
“Yes! He broke the most sacred rule, Y/N. Pogues don’t lie to other Pogues!” she shouted. You understood that she was more concerned with their friendgroup, but your mind traveled elsewhere.
You remembered seeing Topper arrive at the club shortly before you went on break. He met up with Kelce and Rafe to golf for the day. You needed to talk to him - make sure he was okay. He was supposed to be your sworn enemy by most standards, but you hated that damn rivalry. You didn’t understand why you all just couldn’t get along.
“I’ll deal with John B later,” you reassured the raging girl on the other end of the phone. Being one year older than them all, you’d been made honorary ‘mom friend’ of the group. You typically handled drama amongst the teenagers. “I gotta go, Kie. I’ll call you when I get off.”
Kiara bid you goodbye and you quickly hung up. You stood from the table and tossed the rest of your salad in the trash; it wasn’t that great anyway. You exited the break room and made your way to the dining area of the club. It was fairly empty, only a few tables occupied by club members. You spotted the back of a frosted tipped head at the bar and made your way over to him.
Topper was getting a few beers for him and the guys before they headed out on the course for the day. No one ID’d him, of course. The members of the club paid enough money to oversee this type of thing. Everyone just looked the other way.
“Hey, Topper, can I talk to you?” you asked as you came to his side.
He glanced at you with a furrowed brow and scoffed, turing back to the bartender, “Do I have a choice?”
You ignored the question and way he tried to brush you off. You shifted your weight on your feet and said, “I heard about Sarah. I just wanted to say I’m sorry. Are you okay?”
Topper froze completely in his spot. He knew word was going to get around eventually, it was inevitable and obvious. Though, he wasn’t expecting you to walk right up to him and say something about it - putting salt in an open wound. He slowly turned to look at you with a stone cold expression on his face.
“Why would you ask me that?” he practically growled, handing shooting out and gripping harshly onto your upper arm. “Did you come over here to gloat? Make fun of me? Rub it in my face that your little friend’s been hoeing around with my girl?”
“No I-” you winced as Topper squeezed your arm harder, “Topper you’re hurting me.”
The tall Kook released your arm, realization crossing his face but it was quickly replaced with a scowl again. The bartender put the beers on the bar and he practically threw the cash across the bar at him. He grabbed the beverages and turned to you again.
“I have your job in the palm of my hand, Y/N, don’t ever talk to me about that again,” Topper spat before walking away.
You had a frown etched into your features as you watched the blonde go. Your hand massaged the spot he’d grabbed subconsciously. When he was out of sight you dropped your hand to your side and sulked back to the break room. You were going to spend the fifteen minutes left of your break wishing you’d just kept your mouth shut.
•
The next time you saw Topper was at a Boneyard kegger. You hadn’t seen him at the club since that day. You hoped you never did. You desperately needed that job to keep you and your mom on your feet. You’d never be able to find another job that paid that well, especially if your boss spread word that you messed with the Thornton boy.
You made your way towards the kegs for a refill when a group of guys turned with freshly filled cups. You’d had your eyes cast downward on your feet as you tried not to trip in the sand. You nearly ran into someone’s chest when you looked up into the face of the boy you were trying to avoid.
“T-Topper,” you stuttered, taking a step back when you realized how close you were. “Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention.”
“Clearly,” Rafe snickered to your left, sauntering off with Kelce somewhere. Probably to find their next innocent and oblivious hookup to add to the notch on their belts.
You ignored the self proclaimed ‘Kook King’ and stared up at Topper. His jaw was set as he stared down at you. His eyes were swimming with something you couldn’t pin point. Regret? Guilt, maybe?
“You come over here to try and get me to talk about my feelings again?” he mumbled, raising the cup to his lips to take a large drink.
“No.. I just- Look Top, I’m sorry.”
Topper scoffed and rolled his eyes. His shoulder bumped yours as he walked past, but not before adding, “Stay the hell away from me.”
Pope, who’d been at the kegs handing out beers, came to your side immediately upon seeing you frown. The two of you watched the boy make his way to his friends and other Kooks.
“You okay?” the dark skinned boy asked, now looking down at you.
“Yeah.. Yeah, I’m fine,” you forced a smile to your lips and handed your empty cup over to be filled.
Unbeknownst to you, Topper watched you all night. He didn’t understand why you cared. He didn’t understand how you could still be so nice to him with the way him and his friends treated you and your friends. It was frustrating, really, this feeling in his chest that was pulling him towards you. Something about the way you looked at him, the way you were soft spoken but strong willed at the same time. He couldn’t shake this feeling of wanting to let you in.
•
It was a gorgeous morning. The sun had just completely revealed itself from the horizon, not a cloud in the sky. The waves were especially good. That’s how you found yourself down at the beach on Figure Eight. Their beaches weren’t as crowded since, let’s face it, the Kooks didn’t give a damn about surfing. You had a whole mile stretch to yourself. The only people you saw were a few joggers and dog walkers.
Your surf board glided through the waves effortlessly. You practiced some of the tricks JJ had been teaching you, nearly losing balance a handful of times. One wave took you by surprise and you tumbled through the water. You came up for air, choking on sea water, lungs burning. You could feel your muscles screaming at you despite the saltwater making your body feel exceptionally light.
You climbed back up onto your board, wiping your eyes and try and rid them of the burning sensation. You blinked away the mix of tears and seawater, looking towards the beach when you saw a familiar frosted tipped head. He stood shirtless, arms by his sides as he stared at you - a small smile on his lips that you couldn’t see from so far away.
As you slid onto your stomach and began paddling back to shore, you were half expecting Topper to leave. You were surprised when he didn’t, instead walking closer to you as the waves crashed around your legs when you stood.
“Didn’t know you were so good at that,” it was a half-assed compliment, but you still smiled.
“You wouldn’t know, it’s a Pogue sport,” you teased breathlessly.
Topper rolled his eyes, this time playfully as a smile again tugged at his lips. He watched as you stuck your board in the sand and undid the ankle strap. You sat down to take some relief off your aching legs and leant back against your palms.
“What’re you doing on this side of town?” he asked as he came down to sit beside you, keeping a good amount of distance between the two of you.
“The beach is less crowded over here. It’s easier to surf without worrying about getting run over by someone else,” you replied, looking over at the dirty blonde.
Topper’s skin was glistening with sweat and his muscles looked taught - not that you were paying attention. You figured he’d been on a run before stopping to talk to you. Only God knows why after the way he’d been treating you.
“You know, I didn’t mean the things I said to you,” his voice was softer now. His blue eyes met yours for a moment before he was looking back out at the water. “I guess.. I was just so angry at Sarah and John B. You’re his friend so I took my anger out on you.”
“Apology accepted,” you replied with a smile, even though he hadn’t outright said he was sorry. Topper’s gaze locked on yours and a genuine smile crossed his lips.
The two of you sat on the beach for hours, time slipping away from you as you talked. He opened up to you about Sarah and how heartbroken he was. He told you how his attachment to her was unhealthy and he wasn’t even sure if he was truly happy with her. He told you how he’s just ready to move on and figure out what real love is.
He opened up about his mom and how she expected so much from him. You realized the boy boy had a lot of pressure on him. He was going through more than a lot of people knew about, even his own friends. But you noticed how he sat up straighter and seemed more relaxed the more he talked. He was smiling and laughing with you, something you never thought you’d be able to say. You saw a twinkle in his eye that hadn’t been there before and it made your heart swell.
•
You and Topper had been hanging out quite regularly. He’d meet up with you after you got off work and you’d grab lunch or take a walk on the beach if it was late. You’d take long drives on your days off, windows down with music playing softly as you talked about everything - or nothing at all. He’d even helped your mom fix her car when it broke down on her way to work. It surprised you that he even knew anything about cars, thinking he just threw money at someone to fix whatever problem he had.
The Pogues didn’t know about your newfound friendship with the Kook. They assumed you were busy with work and your mom. Occasionally you had to pick up some extra shifts so your absence was nothing new to them.
The Kooks heard you’d been hanging around with Topper but no one had really seen it with their own eyes. They were whispers of gossip in the dark started by older folks seeing the two of you at the club or on the beach. Rafe had tried to ask his best friend about it but was brushed off as if he didn’t know what he was talking about.
When you showed up at the Boneyard for - yes, another party - with the blue eyed boy, everyone’s attention was on you. You were linked arm in arm as you treaded the sand down to the crowd of people. The whispers and quiet murmurs started. It was eerily quiet - those parties were never quiet.
The Pogues were by the kegs, staring wide eyed and mouth opened at the two of you. You could practically feel the uncomfort coming from John B and Sarah. If looks could kill, Rafe would have killed you both, Kelce stood beside him with his eyebrows scrunched together in confusion.
“Well this couldn’t be any more awkward,” Topper muttered, trying to stifle a laugh.
“It was your idea to come together,” you whispered back, glancing over at your friends, “They’re looking at me like I just killed their puppy.”
The two of you erupted into a fit of giggles, making your way to the kegs. Pope filled up a cup and hesitated as he handed it over to Topper. You kept the smile on your face as you looked between the Pogues. You took the next cup and took a sip as the tall boy unlinked his arm from yours.
“I’m gonna go talk to Rafe before he has an aneurysm,” he muttered in your ear, hand lingering on your lower back.
You hummed in response and nodded, watching him walk over to the Kooks before you turned back to your friends. Still, they were staring at you. Mixed looks of surprise, disapproval and betrayal.
“What the hell was that?” JJ was the first to open his mouth.
You shrugged a bit and smiled around the rim of your cup as you took another sip of the bitter liquid.
Kiara sat herself on one of the kegs and added, “Dont play coy with us, Y/L/N. What’s going on?”
“We’re just hanging out! It’s not a big deal,” you exasperated, free hand slapping against your thigh after you threw it up.
“You’re fucking Topper now?” John B asked, standing behind JJ with a disgusted look on his face. “That’s why you’ve been so MIA lately?”
You turned to the curly haired brunette and raised an eyebrow. A sarcastic smile painted itself across your lips and you tilted your head. “I don’t think you have much room to talk, do you? We’re not fucking. Don’t be an asshole,” you retorted.
A silence fell over your group, an uncomfortable one. You weren’t one to talk to friends in such a way but they’d backed you into a corner. They were trying to interrogate you, but John B was also running around with a Kook and even helped her cheat. You weren’t going to let them judge your choices when they weren’t much better.
As soon as Topper walked up to his friends, Rafe couldn’t help the words flying from his mouth, “So you hang out with Pogues now?”
The shorter male scoffed and shook his head, resisting the urge to roll his eyes. He brought the cup he was holding up to his lips to keep himself from spewing a harsh remark in return.
“I mean, if you’re just fucking her, it’s cool bro, do what you want. But you two sure did seem coupled up. You don’t want some Pogue slut ruining your reputation, Top-”
“Don’t talk about her like that, man,” Topper snapped, staring his friend in the eye. Rafe raised his eyebrows and crossed his arms over his chest. Kelce stood awkwardly to the side, not wanting to include himself or pick sides between his friends.
“She’s not a slut and she’s not just some Pogue,” Topper continued to defend you, turning to look over his shoulder at you. He could tell your discussion with the Pogues was heated by the way you were talking with your hand and the clench of your jaw. “She’s a cool girl. She takes care of her shit and doesn’t let people’s opinions of her, change how she carries herself. Maybe if you actually got to know her instead of judging where she came from, you’d see that too,” he continued, looking at Rafe again.
The brunette Kook held his hands up defensively and muttered something like okay man, whatever. Topper turned to look at you once more, catching your gaze. You sent him a small smile and a single nod. He did the same. Despite how your friend’s felt from both sides, the two of you didn’t care. You were like two magnets being drawn together, a feeling neither of you had ever experienced before.
•
Your shift had just ended and walked out the doors to see the familiar Jeep parked out by the curb. You smiled and walked over, pulling the passenger side door open and climbing into the vehicle. Your hair had started to fall out of the ponytail you were wearing and you probably smelt of all the food you’d been handling all day. You rubbed a hand over your face tiredly and leant back in the seat.
Topper sat in the driver’s seat, taking a moment to stare at you before driving away. He had a small smile on his face when your eyes met. You let out a soft laugh and covered your face with your hand, mumbling, “What?”
The Kook shook his head, feeling his cheeks heat up at being caught. He bit the inside of his bottom lip as he pulled the car away from the curb and started driving. You turned to look out the window and noticed he was taking you farther into Figure Eight instead of the usual way to your house.
“Where are we going?” you asked and turned to look at him again. The sun was setting and casting a beautiful glow over Topper’s face. His tan skin being illuminated by the orange light made his eyes impossibly bluer.
“My mom’s on the mainland for work so I figured we could hang at my place,” he responded, glancing over at you. “If that’s okay! I didn’t even ask.”
You hummed and nodded, eyes drifting back out to the houses flying by. You’d only been to Topper’s house one other time since you’d started hanging out. You knew what it looked like though. The Pogues liked to crash house parties often and his had been one of them many times.
You arrived at the large house fairly quickly and Topper let you inside. You kicked off your work shoes by the door and followed him up the staircase. He opened his bedroom door and walked in ahead of you, quickly picking up some of his discarded clothes and tossing them in his hamper in the corner. The room was very minimalistic and tidy, probably his mother’s doing.
You walked over to the bed and sat down on the edge of the sea foam green colored duvet. He wiped the palms of his hands on his shorts and turned to you. Your hands were clasped together in your lap as your eyes traveled around the room. You looked so tiny compared to the large mattress and he could tell you were a bit uncomfortable - not wanting to dirty his space.
“You can take a shower. I know you probably want to,” Topper suggested, walking across the room and opening the door to his attached bathroom.
“Oh I- uh, I don’t have any clothes.”
Topper waved his hand in dismissal and opened up the bottom drawer of his dresser. He pulled out a pair of old basket shorts and a t-shirt. He put them on the counter in the bathroom and turned to you with a raised brow.
“I guess I don’t have an excuse now, huh?” you chuckled and stood up, entering the large bathroom.
“If you need anything just gimme me a shout,” he told you with a smile before stepping out of the bathroom and shutting the door.
You turned on the shower and got it to the right temperature, taking off your clothes and slipping under the stream of water. You let out a content sigh and basked in the warmth for a minute. The water pressure was so much better than what you got on the South side.
You quickly washed your hair with some of his shampoo and shockingly, conditioner. Most boys wouldn’t have that product. His body wash was sandlewood scented and you used your hands to clean your sweaty skin. You took an extra minute to make sure you were rinsed completely before turning off the water.
You grabbed a towel and thoroughly dried your body before stepping out and slipping on Topper’s shorts. They were big on you but thankfully didn’t fall off your hips. You slipped his shirt over your head and smiled softly as his scent swirled around you. You skipped out on undergarments - considering you didn’t have fresh ones, but you were comfortable enough around the Thornton boy to go without.
You opened the door while towel drying your hair and found Topper sat against his headboard. He’d changed into a pair of grey sweatpants and one of his old Kook Academy t-shirts. He was scrolling through Netflix, trying to find a good movie to put on when his eyes traveled to you. His breath hitched at the sight of you in his clothes, wet hair dampening the maroon colored material.
It’s as if his eyes were glued to your body, frozen on the bed with the remote clasped tightly in his hands. You tossed the towel into Topper’s hamper and made your way to the bed. His gaze was still on you as you stopped at the end and you chuckled.
“Take a picture, it’ll last longer,” you teased, climbing up onto the bed and crawling towards the pillows.
“Don’t tempt me.”
You were still on your hands and knees when you looked to the tan boy. He was staring back at you with an unreadable expression. His eyes were a darker, stormy blue. His eyes flickered between yours as he had an internal battle with himself. They drifted to your lips as you pulled your bottom one between your teeth.
“Can I kiss you?” Topper’s voice was softer now, eyes meeting yours once again.
“I thought you’d never ask,” you replied through a grin and shuffled closer to him.
The Kook’s hands dropped the remote, one finding the back of your neck and the other meeting your waist. Your lips met awkwardly at first, noses bumping. You pulled back with a soft laugh and tilted your head, leaning in slowly this time. The kiss was soft and tentative. Your lips moved together in synchronized motions.
Topper’s hands pulled you closer until you were sitting on his lap. The room was heating up by the second as your hands roamed the toned planes of his chest over his shirt. You tongue swiped at his lips while tilting your head to deepen the kiss. His large hands wrapped around your hips before sliding up and feeling at your waist.
You hadn’t realized you’d started to grind down against the Thornton boy until you shifted and made contact with his half hard cock. He gasped into your mouth and pulled away from your lips. His pupils were blown wide and his cheeks were pink. You looked something similar, lips swollen from the pressure of his against yours. He had grabbed onto your hips tightly and held them while his chest moved with his soft pants.
“Y/N..” Topper hesitated. He didn’t want you to feel like this is all he wanted. The two of you had spent so much time together, he felt so stupid to shut the idea of being with you down all those times just because you were a Pogue. You knew him better than his own mother at this point. You helped him get over Sarah and learn to love himself again - and in turn, start to fall in love with you. He didn’t want you to feel like his rebound or a fling. He wanted you; all of you.
Your read Topper’s thoughts through his eyes, feeling your heart swell. Your hands came up to cup his cheeks and bent down to press a sweet kiss to his lips. Your mouth trailed down his jaw until your soft breath was at his ear, making a shiver run down his spine.
“I want you, Topper,” you whispered, a hint of desperation laced in your tone.
The sound of you saying those words alone had his cock fully erect. A low growl sounded in his chest when you ground your hips against him once again. He flipped the two of you, your head nestled in the pillows as he hovered over you. Your legs were bent at the knees at both sides of his hips and his pressed his length against your clothed heat. You mewled at the touch, fingers sliding into the frosted tips of his hair.
He dipped his head and attached his lips to your neck, sucking dark marks into your delicate skin. Your head tilted to him better access fingers tugging as his soft locks as he found your sweet spot. Topper groaned softly, one hand sliding under your - his - shirt. His thumb and pointer finger rolled your perked nipple, causing your back to arch.
“Stop teasing,” you whined as he lifted his head and smirked down at you.
“Patience, babygirl,” Topper muttered, pushing himself up onto his knees. He pulled his shirt off your body and hummed as he took in the sight of your exposed chest.
The obvious tent in sweatpants made your mouth water. You reached down and wrapped your hand around his clothed cock, palming him through the garnments. He let out a strangled groan as he twitched in your hand. He quickly ripped off his own shirt, giving you a chance to admire his muscular body as he worked on getting your shorts off.
Topper couldn’t hold back anymore. He’d been longing for this moment since he realized his feelings for Sarah had diminished. You’d been waiting for this moment since he apologized at the club. You’d always found him attractive and as the two of you got closer, your feelings for him only intensified.
“You’re already wet and I’ve barely started,” he breathed as he spread your legs open for him and admired your glistening pussy.
You bit your lip and tried to get Topper’s sweatpants down his legs but from your angle, it was almost impossible. You huffed in frustration and laid back against the pillows.
“Topper, I’ve been waiting for this for too long. Please, take your pants off and fuck me already.”
The Kook didn’t argue. He wanted nothing more than to lay down and devoure you of everything you had; make you cum repeatedly on his tongue. But with the way you were practically begging for his cock and dripping arousal on his duvet, he couldn’t wait to fuck you into next week.
He pushed his sweatpants and boxers down far enough for his cock to spring free, not even bothering to take them off completely. He hooked one of your legs over his forearm and tapped the head of his length against your clit then dragged it through your folds to your entrance. The corners of his lips twitched up as your juices coated him. He guided himself inside of you slowly then put that hand on your hip.
A soft moan left your lips as Topper filled you up, sighing in relief when he bottom out and held your hips as close to him as he could. He had his jaw clenched, eyelids fluttering as your walls hugged him perfectly.
“You’re so fucking tight,” he groaned softly as he began thrusting slowly. He’d pull back until the head of his cock was the only thing inside of you, then press the whole length of himself back into you.
You whimpered in response, displeased with his slow pace. Your hands traveled up the expanse of his abs, leaving goosebumps in their wake. When you reached his pecks you dragged your nails back down.
“Fuck me like you mean it, Top, please. I need more,” you begged the gorgeous boy above you.
His eyes left where the two of your bodies met and locked on yours. They were cloudy with arousal and a smirk spread across his lips, replying, “As you wish, princess.”
Topper’s hips snapped forward as he started fucking you faster. The sound of skin slapping on skin filled the room as well as your moans. The grip he had on your hip was bruising tight and his cock was brushing your g-spot with every thrust. He grunted as he moved your leg and put your ankle over his shoulder, bearing his weight on his free hand.
You brought your other leg around his hip, crying out as he started pounding against your g-spot now. The coil in your stomach was winding up fast. Topper felt your pussy clenching around him and he moaned.
“Gonna cum on my cock already, baby?” he asked, bringing his hand off of your hip to rub quick circles against your clit with his thumb. He watched your eyes roll back, mouth falling open as pornographic, sinful moans escaped you. “That’s it, cum for me, Y/N.”
Your legs shook as the euphoric orgasm wracked your body. Topper slowed his thrusts as you road out your high bending down and sucking one of your nipples into his mouth. You whined and arched into his mouth, nails scratching at his shoulder blades.
He pulled out suddenly, leaving your body cold and empty. You opened your eyes to see him shimmying out of his sweatpants and boxers. He was lazily stroking himself with one and the other grabbed your leg to turn you over.
“Hands and knees, babygirl,” he demanded, pulling your hips up once you were on your stomach.
You had barely gotten your knees situated before he was plunging his length back inside of you. You propped yourself on your elbows and gasped as he set a brutal pace, one hand pressing into your lower back on the spine. Watching your ass bounce with each of his thrusts had Topper in a daze. He couldn’t take his eyes off of your bottom half and his other hand came down on one of your asscheeks roughly, causing him to groan as he watched it shake.
At this angle you could feel him so much deeper than before. All of your senses were on overdrive after your first orgasm, now he was slamming against your g-spot at an ungodly pace. Your second orgasm was approaching faster and faster and you couldn’t stop your pussy from clenching right around him.
“Yes, fuck yes! Right there, Topper, don’t stop!” you moaned out, the side of your face pressed into the bed and muffling your voice slightly.
The Kook let out an animalistic moan, hands gripping tightly to your hips as he pulled you back to meet his thrusts. They were getting sloppy, but he tried to keep his pace the same, letting his head fall back as he felt his own release approaching.
“F-Fuck,” Topper groaned, squeezing onto your hips, “I’m gonna fill up this tight pussy, baby. Shit, I’m cumming.”
The two of you released almost at the same time, you reaching your second high just before him. A cry of his name left your lips as your juices coated his swelling cock. His hips stuttered as thick ropes of his cum filled you up. He slowed down, using your tight walls to milk himself as he chanted your name like a mantra.
You fell limp on the bed, causing Topper’s softening cock to slip out of you. He watched his cum slowly drip out of you, making a mess onto your abused cunt and his bed. He got up from the bed and went to his bathroom to grab a washcloth. He came back and gently cleaned you up then himself.
The Thornton boy helped maneuver you under his sheets, smiling at the dazed look in your eyes. He stripped the comforter off his bed and made a mental note to wash it in the morning before climbing under the sheets beside you.
He pulled you into his side and wrapped his arms around you, kissing the top of your head when you rested it on his chest. He brushed your hair off your shoulder and let his fingertips trace gentle patterns onto your bare skin. The silence didn’t bother either of you - just content being in each other’s embrace.
“Hey, Top?” you muttered sleepily into the golden skin of his chest. He hummed in response and you continued, “I really like you.”
Topper couldn’t hold back the grin that invaded his face, throwing his head back for a second in joy.
“Hey, Y/N?” he copied you, waiting for you to hum in response before he tilted your chin up. He planted a loving kiss against your lips then the tip of your nose and whispered, “I really like you too.”

'This is an easy fix, do I even need to spell it out?' Five blurted, getting frustrated about the plan of getting back to 2019.
'Yes, Five. I need you to spell out exactly what you mean because if so, that is so messed up.' I yelled at my kid brother. I knew what Five was implying when he said "it was an easy fix." I would never get rid of Bel and if Five tried anything, I would fight him.
Luther sighed, 'Guys can we please not fight about this again?'
'No. It's always Five bringing up bullshit that no one agrees on and he expects everyone to listen to him.'
'That kid doesn't even belong in our timeline. We cannot bring her to 2019. We barely escaped that apocalypse, I'm not going through that shit again Y/N.'
'So you think I'm going to trade off my baby to the psychopath? You must really be crazy Five.'
Allison jumped in, 'I agree with Y/N. You out of everyone knows what The Handler is capable of. Do you really want to hand off an innocent kid to her?'
'Do you know why she wants her? For her to be so desperate to hand us a briefcase? The kid can be some assassin from the future that The Handler wants.'
'More reason for me to keep Bel.' I crossed my arms, 'Maybe she became an assassin because you decided to hand her to The Handler and she's seeking revenge.'
Klaus nodded, 'Y/N makes a great argument Five. I'm sorry but I don't think it's a good idea to give sweet Bel away.'
Groaning loudly, Five balled his fists. 'You imbeciles are so.... ugh.'
'So if The Handler wanted Deloris in exchange for the briefcase, you're saying it's okay?' I raised my eyebrows, watching my brother's response.
Luther laughed but immediately stopped as Five glared at him. 'So how do we plan to go back to 2019?'
Allison licked her lips, holding in her laugh as she made eye contact with me. Honestly, I didn't think convincing Five would be so easy. I should've thought Deloris was the key to breaking him.
'You take me with you to the Commission. Simple as that.'
'Woah, woah.' Diego jumped in, 'Just the two of you? Are you crazy?'
'No, I'm not.' I turned back to Five, 'So what do you think?'
Vanya cocked her head, 'Is this really safe? Shouldn't we all go together and help each other?'
'Ah, no offense Vanya but taking you would be a terrible idea considering the fact that you ended the world in 2019.' Luther flashed an awkward smile.
Five, Allison and Diego groaned in sync, Klaus hitting Luther on his forearm. 'You dummy! Why would you bring that up?'
'Guys, it's fine.' Vanya smiled, 'Let's just figure out a safe and effective way to go back without turning Bel away.'
I smirked, clapping my hands cheerfully. 'Don't worry, I have a plan. Five will love this.'
He rolled his eyes, 'Ugh. Can't wait to hear it.'

Diego walked in the room after putting Bel to sleep in her room, sighing as he sat on the bed next to where I was laying down. 'Are you up?'
Turning around to face him, I nodded. 'Yeah.'
'Ah.' Diego scooted a little bit closer to me, biting his lips as he figured out what words to say next. 'Uhm, I'm sorry about yesterday.'
'What do you mean?'
'The things I said before you left to the alley.'
My eyes immediately shifted away from him, embarrassed about what I told him while I was intoxicated. I wish that I could take whatever I said back to him, I hated the awkward tension between us.
'Don't know what you're talking about but don't worry about it.' Pretending that I was too drunk to remember, I tried to brush everything off.
'It's not okay because I was lying, Y/N.' Diego looked down, started to fiddle with the bed sheets. 'I care about you, a lot. I was too scared to talk to you because I didn't know how you felt. I honestly thought it was just a casual thing between us, or at least I thought that's how you felt about me.'
That was a surprising thing to hear, thinking that the response I got from him yesterday at the salon was the truth. I didn't think that Diego would think of me as more than a friend, despite the things we did.
I've always assumed everything we've done was just casual, I tried so hard to suppress my feelings I had for him.
'I thought that you thought the same thing. I'm sorry I brought it up out of nowhere last night. It had been a while since I had alcohol.'
'No, no.' He softly grabbed my forearm, it was a comfort touch that I loved from him. 'I'm kind of glad you did. If you hadn't, I don't think I'd had the guts to tell you all of this right now.'
Smiling at him as he rubbed on my arm, I sat up next to him. 'Well, thank you for telling me.'
Diego nodded, softly smiling at me and enjoying my touch. 'Please be careful tomorrow when you go out with Five. I don't even know who this woman is but she sounds dangerous.'
'I'll be fine, I promise.'
He nodded, 'Uhm, you still don't want me to come with you guys?'
'Five and I will be just fine on our own. Don't worry. Besides, the less of us we have will be better. We're trying not to draw attention to ourselves.'
Diego seemed unconvinced, he always worried about things he didn't know what to expect. Especially with this mystery lady that Diego knows nothing about, I knew he was scared.
'Stop, don't think about it.' I scooted towards him, rubbing my hand on his forearm as I tried to calm him down.
He looked me in my eyes and slowly came closer, leaning into me as he cupped my cheek with his hand. I leaned closer, our lips touching as I gently started to kiss him.
'Daaaaad, the aliens are coming after me!' Bel's scream echoed through the entire apartment, I wouldn't be surprised if our neighbors heard her.
'Mood killer.' Diego sighed as he pulled away. As I giggled, he rolled his eyes. 'I bet you're happy she started calling for me instead of you. She needs to start calling for her mama.'
'Very happy.' I grinned, 'I've been waiting for this day where I don't have to get out the bed after her screams.'
Diego got up lazily, 'Someday when I get old, I'm gonna keep calling her name every ten minutes for her to come get me too.'

Crouching down as soon as Five helped me get to The Commission, he looked around nervously. I knew that he was some sort of legend around here, helped them assassin many people in the past to fix the timeline and what-not.
'The Handler's gone in the 50s but she could be back anytime. I'll leave to go get the suitcase while you switch up to The Handler and you try to distract them from me. Please for the love of Deloris, don't leave her office. We can't be caught.'
'Speaking of.' I pulled up a mask, handing it to my brother as I smiled. 'Your famous self can cover up with this.'
It was a mask that fairly looked like the ones ChaCha and Hazel wore, except it was a bunny and I honestly thought it would look good on him.
'The fuck do I look like wearing that?' Five looked disgusted. 'I'm not wearing that thing.'
'Yes, you are. If they find you, this is over. We are never going back home.'
Five decided to ignore me and change the subject. 'Why don't you turn into The Handler first and maybe I'll wear that mask.'
'Ew, she reeked of strong perfume and I'd rather just wait. Besides, I asked you first.'
'Okay, I asked you next.'
'Five, please don't play with me.'
He squinted his eyes, 'You wanna be childish, I'll act like you so you know how annoying it is.'
'I swear Fi-'
The sound of the door nob startled us both, not expecting anyone to come into her office especially without knocking. That queued me to morph into The Handler quickly, rehearsing how she sounded like in my head so I wouldn't be caught by these people.
'Oh, mom. So glad you're back from the trip.' A girl, probably the same age as us Hargreeves, ran up to hug me. She pulled away and looked over next to me. 'Who's this midget?'
I looked over and saw Five wearing the mask I got him. I smiled at myself softly, happy that Five decided to wear it. I knew he didn't have a choice but the fact that he took the mask over running away into thin air made me feel like I did something right.
'Ah- my new recruit. Trying to find him the perfect partner for this new mission I have lined up.'
The girl stared at him, 'Nice to meet you.'
Five just stood still, possibly staring back at her too. I figured he didn't speak because she would've figured out who he was as soon as she heard his voice, so I didn't force anything on him.
'Ah, not much of a talker. Such a professional assassin move.' She grinned and looked back at me. 'Speaking of assassins, why don't you take me to the mission with him. I can be his partner.
'Uhm, no. You can't go.'
The girl groaned, 'Why? I'm old enough you know? You trained me since I was a child for stuff like this and you're not even letting me use my talent. Instead it's always "Lila do this stupid thing" and honestly I'm so bored now.'
'You know I just care about you, right Lila?' I'm so glad she said her name because I was panicking not knowing what else to say. 'You're too important to me and I just can't risk that.'
'Whatever, mom. I asked to go to the Hargreeves mission with you and you didn't let me go so I know that's bull.'
In my mind I was screaming, I wanted this girl to leave so we can get the briefcase and get out of here. 'Five isn't a priority right now and frankly, he's a harmless boy. It was a quick job and I didn't need another person with me.'
'Not Five, Belinda Hargreeves. You told me you'd take me with you and you just left me, knowing I was asleep. Why would you do that, I was so excited to take her down.'
She must be talking about the night The Handler visited me, I thought to myself. The stories were slowly lining up. 'Well, she's just a baby. I figured I didn't have to wake you up and I'd just take care of her myself.'
'Just a baby? Mom, you wouldn't shut up about her being this next big thing The Commission needed and now she's just a baby to you?'
'I think you'll best fit that position anyway. Maybe it's time for us to move on from that.'
Lila chuckled, 'You're kidding me right? This kid has like one of the best powers I've seen. Even the Hargreeves siblings don't have that much talent. You really want to turn that down now?'
It was hard to contain my confused and my urge to beat this girl up. It annoyed me that Lila was talking about my daughter as if she was some experiment, and now she's talking about her having some powers. The frustration didn't help either when I had to stay in character.
'Are you sure that's Belinda Hargreeves we're talking about? That harmless looking baby? Surely we're talking about some other kid.'
'Mom, you clearly need sleep or you're doing drugs or something because you really don't sound right. We need her here, that was your saying. Literally, last night you told me that and now you're changing your mind?'
'There's just things in mind I need to consider before I take that route.'
Lila laughed, 'Okay mom. Whatever it is, I hope you make the right decision for us.'
'Yeah sure.'
She shook her head as she slowly walked to the door. 'You are acting a little weird so I'll leave you to it mom. Take a nap, rethink it. I'm sure you'll change you mind again.'
'I can't believe this.' I heard shuffling from behind as the door shut behind Lila. 'All that girl said was true, the powers and everything.'
Quickly rushing next to Five with doubt still on my mind, I snatched the file from his hand.
Everything about her was there; Her name, her birthdate and birthplace. All the information I knew nothing about was here in my face.
'October 1st, 1989...' I mumbled as I continued to read the rest of her file. 'Sh-she has powers. I-I don't understand.'
'So technically Bel's our sister.' Five blurted, 'How did she get to the 60s with us?'
None of what Five was saying was sinking into my brain. The reason why The Handler was hunting me and my family down made sense, how Bel was probably going to end up being their next soldier that does their dirty work.
Five looked over at me, realizing that I was having a hard time processing everything. 'Y/N, don't worry. We will figure this out, okay? We won't abandon her, I promise.'
'But she's one of us. She somehow ended up in our hands and now-' I was trying to put all the information in my head and tried to make sense out of this.'
'Y/N, Y/N. Breathe, it's okay. The Handler doesn't know that we know, we're one step ahead of her. It's perfect.' Five nodded his head. 'We have the upper hand and we can get rid of her before she tried to her Belinda.'
It was nice to see this side of Five, especially when I was freaking out about this huge news. Even thought it was a bit weird. I turned to Five, 'Why are you being nice to me?'
'Honestly, it's hard given the fact that you look like that.' He chuckled lightly, looking me up and down in my "The Handler costume." 'You seemed to grow fond of her and knowing The Handler, I don't know what she's going to do to her. I've worked with her my whole life and I didn't even know she had a daughter.'
I raised my brows, 'Wow. How brotherly of you.'
'You know, I try but you all are annoying and stupid for me to care sometimes.'
'And there's the brother that we all know and love.'
He rolled his eyes, 'Bel is going to outsmart all of you guys. Not to mention she has ecokinesis.'
'Sounds like you're obsessed with this child now.' I smiled, 'I love that you love her.'
'Whatever helps you sleep at night, Y/N.'
I looked at Five and smiled, it was unbelievable to almost impossible that our beloved brother had sympathy for how I was handling this news. 'Thanks Five, really. Don't know what I'll do if I lost her.'
'You won't, you got us now to have your back.'
'Are you really Five or are you a shapeshifter too?'
'Just trying to be nice, for once.' Five's smile went away as he became serious. 'But if you tell anyone about this, I'll figure out a way to send you to a different dimension.'
I laughed lightly, nudging my brother as he got to leave. 'I try to keep the secret to myself.'
Despite Five's thoughtfulness and caring words, I was scared. Even with my family by my side, the reality was that Bel didn't belong here either. Not only was Belinda warped from 1989 for some odd reason but The Handler really wanted to get her, as if she had something planned for her.
Nothing was making sense, starting from the reason why she was out of her timeline but none of that mattered. The only thing that mattered was keeping my child safe from that freak.
No matter what it takes, I was determined to protect my daughter. Nothing was going to stop me.

Everything Will Be Okay
Pairing: Lin x Reader
Request: “Hi! I'm in need of some LMM love pretty please 🥺 where he and the reader are together, and her mother is sick and in the hospital very suddenly. She calls Lin from the hospital and he rushes to her side and he comforts her and spends the night with her in the waiting room just cuddling her and trying to keep her distracted and making her smile. Just some fluffy comfort if you can/want, please and thank you much!!” - @stelle-tenere
Word Count: 1.6k
Warnings: Very vivid description of having a loved on in the hospital. Multiple descriptions of panic
I looked over at the clock and saw that it was 4pm. I realized that I should probably start getting ready for my date. Lin and I had been dating for about four months and we had a date tonight.
I got up from my couch and walked into my room to find an outfit to wear. I was standing, looking at all my clothes, when I heard my phone start ringing.
I didn’t know who would be calling me, so I walked over to my phone. I saw an unknown number. I wasn’t expecting a call, but I picked it up.
“Hello?” I answered the phone. “Hello is this Y/N?” The woman on the other end asked. I sighed to myself, it was probably another one of those fake phone calls, where they tried to get your credit card information.
“Yes it is” I replied, simply. “This is the New York General Hospital, your mother was just admitted to the hospital. She had a bad fall, and she’s currently in surgery” the woman told me.
I could feel my heart drop. I could feel my whole body fill up with panic. I had a million questions racing through my mind. I had a pit in my stomach and I couldn’t get rid of it. I didn’t even notice that I hadn’t responded.
“Ma’am, are you still there?” The woman asked. “Yes, I’m sorry. I will be right there” I said, hanging up the phone and grabbing my keys. I raced to the hospital, faster than I’d ever gone anywhere before.
The whole ride there, the only thing I could think of was my poor mother, laying on the floor, hurt. I couldn’t bare to think about how scared she must have been, waiting for the ambulance.
I pulled into the hospital parking lot and raced inside. I ran up to the front desk. “Hi, my name is Y/N. You called me because my mother had a fall. You said she was in surgery” I told the woman at the front desk.
“Ahh yes, your mother is in room 742. It’s the first door on the right, down that hallway. She might not be awake from surgery yet” she told me. “Okay thank you” I said, and walked to the room as quickly as my legs would carry me.
I walked in and saw my mother, still asleep. It broke my heart into a million pieces. She looked so fragile, and she had so many wires attached to her.
I could feel the tears start to well up in my eyes. Then, I felt my phone start buzzing. I saw that Lin was calling me. I stepped into the hallway and answered it, I needed a distraction.
“Hey Y/N? Where are you? Is everything okay? You were supposed to be here 30 minutes ago, I’ve been texting you” he told me. “Hi Lin, everything’s fine. I’m at the hospital” I told him. “Wait, the hospital? Are you hurt?” He asked me, his voice laced with concern.
“No, it’s just my mom. She had a fall. I have to be here with her, I can’t come tonight” I told him. “No, I get it. You have to be with your mom. What hospital are you at?” He asked me. “New York General” I told him, not even thinking about it. “Okay, well I’ll let you get back” he told me. We both said goodbye and I hung up.
I glanced back in the room and saw that my mother was still asleep. I decided to call my siblings and let them know what happened. I was the only one in New York, so there’s no they could come.
I finished making my calls and I walked back into the hospital room. I sat down in the chair next to my mom’s bed. I looked down at my hands, I couldn't do anything, but think of the worst case scenario.
I could feel the tears start streaming down my face. I grabbed a tissue and started to wipe them away. Then, I looked up and saw Lin standing in the doorway.
I stood up and ran over to him. He pulled me right into his arms. He felt warm and his embrace was comforting. He rocked me back and forth as I quietly cried in his arms. “Shhh shhh everything will be okay” he whispered to me.
“She must be in so much pain, I just want to take all of it. I would take away all her pain, if it just meant she would be better” I told him, trying to stop crying. “Well you can’t do that. But what you can do is love her and be here for her. And I know that she knows how much you love her” he told me, kissing my temple.
“I just feel so useless, she’s just laying there and I can’t do anything to help her get better” I confessed. “Do you need me to do anything?” He asked me. “Can you stay here? I need to go find a nurse and see how my mom’s surgery went. Can you come find me if she wakes up?” I asked him. “Of course” he said, giving my hand a a reassuring squeeze, before I walked away.
I walked down the hallway and back for the front desk. “Hi, I was just wondering if you knew how my mom's surgery went?” I asked her. “One second, let me check the file” the woman said. She looked through a folder and looked back up at me. “Her surgery went well. She had a large cut on her leg and they stitched it up. She has a prescription for the pain, but she should be able to leave tomorrow” the woman told me. “Okay thank you so much, you’ve been really helpful” I thanked her.
I walked back to my mom’s room and saw Lin walking toward me. “What’s wrong?” I asked panicking. “Nothing’s wrong, she just woke up. The nurse said she might be a little groggy” he told me. I could feel my whole demeanor change. I felt so relieved that I could finally talk to her and see what she needed.
I walked in and her eyes lit up when she saw me. I sat down next to her and we talked. She said she didn’t anything. Then the nurse gave her some medicine to help her sleep. The nurse said it would help her heal faster.
I grabbed a magazine off her bedside table and started to read it. Lin peaked his head in and saw that she was asleep. He quietly walked over next to me and sat in the other chair.
He set his hand on my thigh, and he started to draw little shapes absentmindedly. I leaned my head on his shoulder and he put his arm around my shoulders. I continued to read the magazine, mostly as a way to focus on something else.
I started to feel a little tired, but I knew I had to stay up, in case anything happened. “Are you tired? You could go take a nap in my car if you want, I’ll stay” Lin suggested. “No, I need to stay awake. Let’s go get some coffee” I said, standing up. “Okay” he said nodding.
He interlaced our fingers and we walked to the cafeteria. It was taking all of my will power to not burst into tears.
I didn’t say a word to Lin, the whole way to the cafeteria. I had too much on my mind. “So how are you holding up?” He asked me, as I poured the coffee into my cup. “Honestly, I don’t know. I feel like I’m going to fall apart every time I look at her. And I know she got lucky and it could of been much worse, but it’s mind-numbingly terrifying” I told him, honestly. “Listen, you would be crazy if you felt fine. But I’m here for you and I will do anything you need. And I’m also here to tell you that everything will be okay” he told me, putting his arm around my waist and kissing my cheek.
“Did you know that Hawaii is the only state in the US that grows coffee” Lin said, trying to distract me. “I know what you’re doing” I told him, and looking up at him. He had a dumb smile on his face.
“Thank you, for trying to distract me” I said, as we started to walk back to her room. “You don’t have to thank me. I’ll always be here for you” he assured me.
We got back to the room and sat back down. Lin draped his jacket across his lap and used it as a blanket. He slowly started to doze off. I picked the magazine back up and started to read it.
Before I knew it, I was yawning and I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I stood up and started pacing around the room, trying to stay awake.
Then, Lin stirred in his seat. “What time is it?” He asked me. I checked my watch. “Almost three in the morning” I answered. “Have you slept yet?” He asked me, concerned. “No, I’m fine. I have to stay awake” I told him. “I’ll stay awake for you, if that’ll make you feel better” Lin suggested.
“Okay fine, I’ll sleep for a little bit. But you have to wake me up if anything happens” I told him. “I promise, now come get some sleep” Lin told me. I walked over to my seat and laid my head down in his lap. I was finally able to relax. He stroked my hair, until I feel asleep.

Last Laugh (1 of 3)
“Oh, I noticed,” Red X said lowly, tossing the staff aside. “What that idiot was thinking letting Flamebird send you all the way across the country right after Batkid got blown up, I’ll never know.”
Robin flinched back at the accusation before his fists clenched at his sides. “Then you’ll be happy to know no one sent me here. It’s just where I ended up when Batman decided he didn’t want to work with me anymore and tossed me out.”
The story of how Dick ended up with the Titans in Batkid and Robin.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Richard?”
…
“Richard, may I come in?”
…
“If you do not want me to come in then you need to tell me.”
…
“I’m coming in.”
Light filled the room for a moment then disappeared. The bed shifted and a hand settled on Dick’s back.
…
“Barbara told me what happened.”
Heat. A ringing in his ears. “BATKID!” “Red Wing, please!” Digging. Bodies. “No. Jason.” A mother and son… or a pair of acrobats… Blood. Footprints leading to tire tracks. “My son, I’m so sor-Robin? Robin, get back here!”
“I’m sorry I wasn’t here sooner.”
“Why can’t I come with you and Jon?” “You’re not quite ready for a space mission yet, Richard. I’ve talked to Father, though. He said you could patrol with him and Jason until I return so long as you two don’t get into too much trouble.” “We’re not that bad.”
“I’m sorry,” Dick said, his voice hoarse.
“Imagine how mad he’ll be if I’ve clipped the wings of a baby bat and a baby bird on the same day!” Zap! “Haha! Aw Jeez, I hit Batkid harder than that!” “Shut up!” “So,” a groan, “the first Demon Child taught you a,” a hiss, “a few tricks, hahaha!” “I said shut! Up!” “Hahahaha!” “ROBIN!” “B?” “He’s had enough.” “He killed -” “I know. I… I know.” “Don’t worry, Boy Blunder, you’ll join him soon enough!” “What are you talking ab-” “Robin! Move now!” An explosion.
“I killed him.”
The hand started rubbing circles into Dick’s back. “That’s not true.”
“If I hadn’t attacked him like that, if I hadn't beaten him as bad as I did, he would have made it out.”
“He was the one who set off the explosion, Richard. That’s not on you.” The hand shifted up to Dick’s shoulder and tugged him closer to the warm presence next to him.
He pressed his face into the warmth as another hand came up to card through his hair. “B thinks it’s my fault.”
“Father doesn't think anything right now. He’s still processing his grief. We all are. You are not at fault for what happened. If Joker is dead -- and his body still hasn’t been found so we don’t even know if he is finally gone -- then it is no one's fault but his own.”
Dick shook his head. “I shouldn’t’ve attacked him.”
There was a pause, then a sigh. “No, you should not have. It was extremely reckless and we… You could have gotten yourself killed. You are extremely lucky Joker had not expected you to be with Father so you were able to catch him off guard. Impulsive behavior… It’s already taken Jason, you can’t let it take you too.”
Dick’s fingers dug into his calves from where his arms were wrapped around his legs.
“I found my mom.” “Batkid? B said -” “It’s okay. She said Joker isn’t here. It’s safe. We’re going to talk inside so no one sees us.” “But -” “I can talk her around, Red Bird. I know I can. Please, don’t tell B. She’s my mom.” “O-okay. Just be careful.” “It’ll be fine. She said he won’t be back for hours.”
She lied.
“It wasn’t his fault.”
“I-That’s not what I mea-”
“Yes, it was.”
Another sigh. The warmth moved away so the hand in his hair could come down to cup his cheek. It brushed away his tears and tilted his head up, but he didn’t look at the face hovering over him. “Richard -”
“I wanna be alone now. Please.”
“Are you sure?”
“I’m tired.”
There was a beat, then the hands and warmth and face moved away. “Alright. Get some rest. I have to go talk to Father. If… I am here if you need anything.”
Dick nodded and laid down with his back to the warmth.
The light came and went.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When they returned from Ethiopia, Bruce told Dick he’d be benched for a month. It was partly to give his injuries from the fight with Joker time to heal and partly as punishment for running off to said fight. Damian had agreed when he arrived back on Earth a week later and Dick accepted the punishment without complaint.
By the end, though, he was itching to get out of the manor. He hated being trapped in one place for too long. With the media going crazy over Jason’s death, Bruce had managed to arrange for him to finish the last few weeks of school from home and Damian decided they would remain at the manor instead of heading back to their house in Somerset. It was a longer commute to work and patrol for Damian and meant Dick couldn’t run around the neighborhood to visit with his friends, but it was also more secure against paparazzi.
Dick wouldn’t complain since he knew he deserved it, but it didn’t stop him from feeling trapped.
On the day he was meant to go back on patrol, he was skipping through the halls in anticipation of stretching his wings and releasing the tension that had built up under his grief and guilt. He went looking for Damian once he got home to see if he wanted to spar before dinner. When he couldn’t find him in his room or studio, he went to see if Alfred, Bruce, or Selina knew where he was.
“- for a month. I think that’s a fair amount of time.”
Dick perked up when he heard Damian’s voice and ran up to the door to Bruce’s study.
“I don’t mean he should stay on the bench. I meant Robin should be taken off the roster altogether.”
He froze, hand inches from the doorknob.
“I know he shouldn’t have gone after Joker -”
“It’s not just that. Dick… He never should have been brought into this life. He’s not like us and he was too young.”
“I was younger than him when I started out as Batkid,” Damian snapped.
“You were raised by assassins. He had a normal life before you involved him. He deserves a normal life. I know you wanted to help him, but this isn’t the way.”
Bruce was angry. Dick had known that. He didn’t think Bruce would take Robin away from him though. Robin was… his purpose. His place in the family. Without Robin, he didn’t have any reason to be there. And if he wasn’t there…
“Heard Wayne’s taking Grayson.” “Really? Knew his old man liked strays, but I thought he stuck to animals. Why’s he coming for the kid?” “To honor Brucie’s memory? Hell if I know.” “Well, whatever reason, I hope the kid can behave.” “Yeah. Lord knows Wayne hates people at the best of times, can’t imagine how he’ll take to having a brat running around.” “He’d probably return the kid the first time he acts up. Doubt the poor ***** will get another chance too.”
No, Dick couldn’t lose Robin. But Dick was Damain’s partner and Damian wouldn’t let Bruce do that, right? Right?
Why wasn’t Damian saying anything?
“This is what Richard needs,” Damian finally said after a few moments, but the happiness at his words was overshadowed by the ice sliding down Dick’s spine from how calm Damian sounded.
Why wasn’t he mad anymore?
Was… Was he starting to think Bruce was right?
“No, it isn’t,” Bruce said.
“How is he any different than the rest of us?” Damian asked, voice still calm.
“You were raised by assassins. As was Cass. Duke was in a gang. Tim raised himself in that damn empty mansion and spent years trailing after us through Gotham’s streets with nothing but a camera. And Jason lived on those streets.”
Tearing up, Dick wrapped his arms around himself. He knew he wasn’t as smart or skilled as the others, but he’d thought…
“Dick might not have had a typical childhood, but he had a happy one. He grew up with an entirely different mentality than us. You saw how he looked when he went after Joker.”
Dick flinched. He remembered the rage that had flooded through him. He knew he shouldn’t have gone after Joker. That it was stupid and reckless and wrong. Not justified vengeance, just plain old revenge. The very thing Damian had tried to instill against when he’d started out.
But at the time all he could think was that Jason was dead, had been murdered like his parents, and his family kept dying around him and Joker was to blame. He hadn’t meant to go as far as he did, he hadn’t meant for Joker to die!
He just wanted everyone to be safe.
The worst thing, though, was that as much as he wasn’t proud of how he’d run off and put himself in danger, as terrified as he was that he had killed someone, he didn't regret what he’d done to Joker.
“He doesn’t belong in this life, Damian.”
Dick froze. No. No! Losing Robin was one thing, but to not belong…
“I understand.”
Dick staggered back, hand coming to his mouth as the tears fell. He quickly ran back the way he’d come before the sobs could start.
They couldn’t… They couldn’t!
It was one mistake! It was a bad one, but he knew the others had had bad mistakes too. They couldn’t get rid of him for that, right?
Except the others were Bruce’s sons, and he was just Damian’s foster kid. He thought it hadn’t mattered that he wasn’t really family on paper, but maybe it did.
“You’re not getting a family, circus freak.” “Yeah, foster kids ain’t family. They’re just a paycheck.” “Or some rich bastard’s charity case.” “Either way, no one actually cares about them even if they have to pretend to. And no one would care about someone like you.”
Dick barely stopped himself from slamming the door behind him as he staggered into a closet. He dropped to the floor, pressing his knees into his eyes.
He couldn’t go back to juvie. Losing Robin would be torture, but going back to that hellhouse would kill him. Maybe even literally.
He technically wasn’t as defenseless as he was last time. He was sure he’d probably be able to take anyone that tried to hurt him if he tried, but he wouldn’t be able to try. He wouldn’t be Robin going in. He’d be Dick Grayson, former foster son of Damian Wayne. He couldn’t use any of the skills he’d gained as Robin without risking his identity -- former identity -- and the identities of the rest of the Bats by extension. And he would never do that, even if they did return him.
No, he couldn’t go back to juvie, but where else could he go. It’d been made pretty clear both when he got there and when he left that there was nowhere else he’d be sent. Maybe Babs or Cass would take him? Or maybe they could talk Damian around? Duke, Steph, Tim, and Selina would help, right?
Unless they thought Bruce and Damian were right.
“I understand.”
No, they would talk them around. They had to.
Except Bruce and Damian -- like the rest of the family -- were stubborn. Would the others be able to talk them around before they shipped him off?
Maybe if he could buy them time…
He couldn’t go back to juvie.
Dick scrubbed his eyes and got up to slip out of the closet.
His first stop was the cave. He couldn’t grab his normal suit without anyone noticing, but the updated version had just finished testing and hadn’t yet been equipped with trackers. He stuck it into a lockbox alongside some gear.
Then he was up in his room. He stuck the box into a duffle bag with his travel toiletries.
Before he could grab anything else, there was a knock on his door.
He quietly zipped up the bag and knocked it under the bed as he called, “Who is it?”
“It’s me, Richard. Can we talk?”
Dick dropped onto the bed. “Yeah, sure.”
Damian came in with a plate of cookies.
Dick grabbed one, but didn’t press up against his guardian like he normally would.
“You already know why I’m here,” Damian sighed.
“I overheard you talking with Bruce. You’re…” He clenched his fingers around the cookie as he looked up at Damian. “Don’t do this, please. I can be better. I-I won’t do anything like this again, I swear! Please, you can’t! We’re a team. We’re partners! You said so yourself! You cant… you can’t just toss that aside! Toss me aside!”
“It’s not like that, Richard,” Damian said, setting down the plate.
“Then what is it like!” Dick snapped and jumped to his feet, placing them eye-to-eye.
“This life isn’t good for you,” the young man said, meeting his gaze. “Bringing you into it, it was a terrible error in judgment. Father is right. It’s not your fault. You didn’t do anything wrong. I’m just doing what’s best for you.”
“It’s not like you forced me into it! I chose this! I want this!”
“You could have been killed, Dick!” Damian said, voice growing louder.
“I’m sorry! I let my emotions get the best of me! But it won’t happen again!”
“It’s over, Dick!”
“No! You can’t do this! I-I won’t let you! You can’t se-”
“Enough!” Damian shouted, then pressed a hand over his face. In a calmer voice, he said, “I’ve made my decision.”
“Dami, please!” Dick felt tears pricking at his eyes as Damian stood up and turned to leave.
“You’re going to stay here until after the funeral next week. We can talk more about what happens after once you’ve calmed down.”
“You can’t do this to me!”
“You’re better off this way.”
“Wayne is going to be the best chance you’re going to get, kiddo. The only good chance, honestly. I really hope this works out for you.”
“I hate you.”
Damian hesitated by the door, then shut it behind him.
Dick couldn’t go back to juvie.
