In my opinion, considering the current state of mentality in motorsports, our society at large and most importantly considering some of the countries the race takes place in, I don't think any of the current drivers would come out as queer any time soon. And I don't blame them. I would love to see it, but yeah, no way it's gonna happen soon.

I could imagine a driver coming out after retiring though and maybe that would shake the paddock into introducing some (positive) changes.

how do you feel about sydcarmy? I see a lot of people say that is dumb to ship them, i personally do, but i wanted to know your opinionn

(just know that i STILL haven’t seen s3 yet— IK I’M CRAZY— so my opinion is still based on s1 + s2 for rn)

i personally like sydcarmy— i didn’t initially see it on my first watch of s1 but i kind of caught notes of it on the second watch; i just like their dynamic and how both of them want to reach the next level with their cooking and help the other do so as well. s2 obviously has the moments like carmy having the freak out outside until he starts thinking of syd/the under the table scene/the cooking scene where he teaches her the chest rub for “i’m sorry”/etc. that have romantic undertones, but i don’t necessarily know if they’re MEANT to be read as that

ultimately, i would like it if they got romantically involved but at the same time both of them (especially carmy) need to be in a good place mentally/physically/etc. before they’d take a go at things, ESPECIALLY since the restaurant is contingent on them working together and being partners in that sense. but i think the writers know what they’re doing and they’re going to develop these characters in a way that’s authentic to them and their stories
