Any tips for making bots realistic and with good responses??? For some reason, I never seem to get it right 😭😭

hi! usually, my character definitions look something like this:

[Character(“”)

Age(“”)

Gender(“”)

Sexuality(“”)

Appearance(“”)

Body(“”)

Species(“”)

Personality(“”)

Skills(“”)

Habits(“”)

Likes(“”)

Dislikes(“”)

Backstory(“”)]

i usually try to fill all of these categories with as much info as i can— i use the character wikis online + any other characteristics/info that i think is important to add in as well. i also separately define what kind of relationship {{char}} and {{user}} have with one another (ex. exes, situationship, established partners, friends, etc.) so the bot knows how to act.

after that, i’ll usually add details like a general setting (ex. what year it’s taking place in, what show/movie/etc. the universe is from) to give it context. the more details you can give, the better!

lastly, i’ll play-test the bot and four-star rank responses that i think are appropriate/authentic to how the character behaves. once i have a good amount of responses, i’ll copy/paste them into the character definition like this:

{{random_user_1}}: talk talk talk

hopefully that makes sense 💀 it seems like a lot but i feel like being thorough and detailed makes the bots better. if you still have any questions (and this goes for anyone) please just reach out to me! :) <3

omg maya… im rewatching the bear and i need to know what ur opinion on claire is

les <3 i honestly don’t really like claire, but i think it’s kind of bc of how they introduced us to her. i feel like they made her more of a plot device than a character itself— she’s meant to be a distraction from forming/running the bear that carmy indulges in, but at the same time it feels like we don’t even know anything about her other than her history with him + her job. i don’t think she’s fleshed-out that well, and i wish they’d built her up a little more rather than having us as the audience fill in the dots

i understand the desire to be included. i understand wanting to belong and to participate in a community of people with similar interests to me and befriending them. but i was not inserting myself into spaces i was not welcome in. i saw people establish boundaries and i listened.

that’s all this is about— maintaining a boundary. “it’s not a big deal” it’s a big deal to me. if someone can’t grasp this or respect how i feel, then i don’t know what to tell you. respect goes both ways and i’m not going to be nice to someone who’s being rude to me. i have to put my foot down at some point

i have first-hand experience of seeing things i should not have been seeing because people older than me thought it was okay to expose me to that kind of content. people took advantage of that dynamic, and i had to be the bigger person and realize that “this person does not have my best interests at heart” and leave because that person wasn’t going to do it themselves.

i’m not going to talk about this anymore or “defend” why i’m allowed to feel what i feel to people because i am allowed to feel this way. my boundaries are not up for discussion and i’m not changing my mind. i apologize in advance if this comes across as rude, but i have to be firm in making sure i do what i need to feel secure and safe on my account. thank you for your understanding, and i’m sorry if you don’t agree with what i’ve said, but that’s how i feel and it’s not changing.
