We have also just finished a replay of Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon. We highly recommend playing this game! We are being attacked by a game that we last beat several years ago when it first came out, where we went in knowing nothing of the story and went out having been dealt a physical blow to our heart. You stand outside the noisy bar, the nice music coming from inside and the breeze of fresh air brushing your cheek being enough to bring ease to you.

It would be a lie to say you´re a fan of this type of going out, but it is nice to spend some time with the team outside of work and you're more than happy to sit quietly and sip on your soda while they do shots.

But tonight the building feels louder than usual, too loud. Not really enough to make you feel anxious, but definitely enough to make you crave the fresh night air, away from all the sweaty bodies.

You see Spencer approaching you from the corner of your eyes, an awkward smile plastered on his lips. Warmth spreads across your chest, leaving you unable to stop the smile from appearing on your face too.

"Hey, can i join you?" He asks, sitting next to you as soon as you nod in agreement, "Here, i got this for you." He hands you the soda in his hand.

"Thank you." You reply quietly, hand grazing his for a moment longer than it should. You scan the paper cup that he's now holding between his hands, a frown etching your face once you realise what's on the inside.

"Spence, why are you drinking coffee at eleven pm?" You question with raised eyebrows.

"Oh- uhm- i just thought that since i'm usually in bed by this time and i want to drive you home i should make sure i'm very awake. You know, just to make sure." Spencer rambles, cheeks pink and head cast down in a way that makes you sure that he wasn't expecting you to notice.

“You really don’t have to do that for me, Spence.” Though your smile is really just grateful.

“I do.” He answers as if it’s the most obvious thing.

You're both silent for a moment, the same familiar and comfortable silence that you're sure he enjoys just as much as you. You can't help but subtly look to admire his enviable jaw, his nose the nicest shade of pink from the cold.

"Wait, you're actually freezing." You're too concentrated on the task at hand to notice he's reached to hold your hand in his, pulling away too quickly to start taking off his sweater. "Here, you should've told me."

"I don't want it- i mean i do, but you'll get cold too." It's hard to try and be calm when he's so close and the temptation to reach for the sweater that you know is very comfortable is very big.

"'Course not, my coffee will warm me up. Your soda is cold so you don't have that." It's a quite made on the spot excuse but it's also enough to convince you just a little bit.

"I'm pretty sure that's not how it works, S." Playing hard is fun when you get to see him flustered over the simplest thing.

"Just take it." Spencer practically shoves it in your arms, "Please?" And god, the baby doe eyes.

A huff escapes your mouth, a defeated one that makes his smile widen, mouthing a small 'thank you' to you. As if he's not the one doing something for you.

Spencer steps in front of you, helping you into the sweater without having to be asked to. You fight the urge to tell him he doesn't have to baby you as he untucks your hair, pulling it behind your ears before unfortunately siting back down.

He clears his throat, "I was thinking, do you want to spend the night at mine?" He continues before you get to answer, "I won't be able to sleep too soon, anyway. We could watch a movie- if you'd like, of course."

"Can we watch Juno?"

"Rewatch, you mean? And no, not happening." He teases.

"Oh, come on. You chose last time." You feign sadness, forcing a pout onto your lips and turning away to persuade him into having it your way

"Don't do that- we can rewatch it, i promise." He thinks before saying, "But you can't cry when Paulie visits Juno at the hospital again, okay? I really don't have any comforting methods left." Even though he knows he'd go to the ends of the world to find a way.

"And we can get a blueberry slushie on the way to your house?" Okay, maybe you really don't mind getting babied by him. It does feel selfish, Spencer isn't really your boyfriend. You're not sure what he is, neither of you are, but you can't exactly just call him your best friend either.

"And we can get a blueberry slushie on the way." He confirms, nudging your shoulder before pulling you closer to him and giving you the perfect excuse to rest your chin on his shoulder.

"You're very nice to me, S." You all but whisper.

"You're very easy to be nice to." Spencer replies, again like it's the most obvious thing. His lips ghost over your forehead, stopping at your temple to press a tentative kiss there.

"I'm gonna tell the other we'll get going, yes?" He says gently after a moment.

"Course." You smile, slightly hazy with a pounding heart.

It takes him a moment more than it should to let go of you, pretending to adjust his sweater that's now on you so that you're 'extra warm' before squeezing your shoulder and going into the bar in a hurry.

You nuzzle against the fabric of his sweater, the comforting sent making you forget all about the cold weather. And you definitely don't regret not bringing your coat outside.

When Spencer comes back with your bag and coat, he definitely doesn't make a fuss to get his sweater back either.

Robby has always loved camping. The smell of pine trees and sap, of fire and smoke. The serene sounds of birds, crackling fires. When he was a kid he'd camp by the ocean and the waves crashing were always enough to put him to sleep at night. 

The taste of bug spray bitter on his tongue as he accidentally breathes it in. "Honey, I think you've scared off enough bugs. Put it down." His voice soft amused. When he'd heard she hadn’t ever been camping before Robby quickly booked them a site the first weekend they were both free. 

"I'm allergic to mosquitoes you know." She sighs, spraying her arm one last time before setting it down. "Not like… deathly but I don’t want to break out in hives." 

"I don't think anyone within a hundred mile radius will come in contact with any bugs thanks to you." He teases, laughing. Raising his hands in surrender when he gets a look.

"Maybe I forgot to mention that just because I haven't ever been camping before doesn't mean I felt like I was missing out on anything. It's great that you're Bear Grylls or whatever but I'm meant to sleep in an actual bed. Not like… a sleeping bag on the dirt." He just continues to chuckle at her. Not taking any offence. 

"You'll have fun I promise." 

There are a lot of things you don't say in the ER or as a doctor in general. Things like, "Seems quiet" or "calm" or make promises which you have no control over. 

Which is probably why two hours later it starts to pour rain. Making it difficult for Robby to start a fire. Seeing his… girlfriend? Is that what he calls her now? They haven't really talked about it but he's not seeing anyone else and she's been coming over at least three times a week for the past four months. 

Anyway, she's drowning in the jacket he fortunately packed. Causing him to be the one that's soaking wet. "Is this how I looked when I showed up for our first date?" She asks. Amused as she observes him work. 

"Better." Robby replies, winking when he catches her rolling her eyes. 

He ties a tarp high enough it wouldn't catch fire but also cover the pit from the rain. 

"That’s really hot." She says. Resting her head in her hands, watching him. "It's so…" She shrugs, not thinking of the right word, "manly?"

"Yeah?" Robby stands. Moving closer, his hands sliding around her hips. "You like it?" 

"Mhm." Nodding, eyes closing as he kisses up her neck. 

"You taste like bug spray." He comments after pulling back.

"I used an entire bottle before I got out of my car. You can imagine what that smells like." Robby laughs. He moves to sit down on the log next to her.

"I may hate it out here but I can see the appeal. The rain, the fire, it's all very calming." She nods. 

"We'd camp every year, sometimes more than once, when I was a kid." Robby tells her. He feels her nod and lay her head on his shoulder. "Grandma was a really big fan of Survivor." He adds, "recreational camping is obviously a lot different than the tropical survival they do on the show but sometimes she'd make my brother and I do puzzles or eat rice and fish out here."

"Oh yeah?" She snorts, "Grandma has taste." Robby feels her nod. "Watching Survivor was probably one of the only times my family and I got along growing up. Probably because we were all sitting watching tv instead of talking to each other." 

"Are you my girlfriend?" He can't help but blurt. The thought on his mind for a while now.

"What do you mean?" Her head tilts up, "w1hat else would I be?" 

"I don't know… I- I just… we hadn't ever talked about it. Officially. I didn't know if you wanted to put a label on it." Robby says honestly. 

"Michael." Looking at him in the eyes. "You were the first man to eat me out. That's not nothing." He rolls her eyes as she laughs. "I'm serious though. I'm not seeing anyone else." 

"I'm not either." 

"Good. Then we can label it." She nods. "Boyfriend." 

"Girlfriend." Then he leans in to kiss her. The fire burns on it's own while Robby pulls her into the tent…

The next morning Robby wakes her up early. As if they hadn’t stayed up late the night before. She groans. "Isn't camping supposed to be relaxing? Waking up at-" Checking her phone, "5? Jesus, Michael." 

"This is the whole reason I brought you out here. Come on." He throws her a jacket and crawls out of the tent to wait for her. It's the excitement in his tone movements that has her moving, though mumbling complaints about it. 

"It's only a mile baby." Seeing her frown and the protest on the tip of her tongue. "I'll carry you if it's too much." 

She rolls her eyes. "With that back?" He just waves her off.

Her mood improves though when she sees why they got up before daylight. Seeing the sunrise from the top of this hill after a mile- an uphill mile she wants to add that Robby conveniently "left out". 

If only Robby remembered that due to the rain last night the dirt trail would be incredibly muddy. On the walk down both of them shared stories about work. Robby thought about her question, "Have you ever had any patients where they stayed totally calm in a situation where they should not be?" 

"I had this guy come in with a nail in his hand. Like, straight through the palm. Kept joking that now he could finally get out of helping his brother move this weekend. Meanwhile I’m trying to keep a straight face while removing an actual hardware-store nail from a human hand. It missed all the major nerves and tendons by millimeters. I stitched him up, wrapped it, and told him to avoid power tools for at least a week. And definitely not to pick up any couches-" He turns when he finally realized there were no sounds of footsteps behind him anymore. 

Where did she go? One minute she was right behind him, grabbing the water from his backpack, and now…

"Michael?" Her voice broken, he nearly didn't hear it. 

She'd fallen down off the side of the hill, laying at the bottom. Slipped in the mud and just tumbled all the way down. 

"Fuck. Hold on. I'm coming." He has to be careful getting to the bottom where she is. 

"Did you hit your head?" Robby reaches her quickly. Swiftly checking over her condition. He doesn't hear an answer right away and snaps his head to her face. "Baby? Did you hit your head?" Robby pulls a pen light from the first aid kit in his backpack. 

"No, but your water bottle hit me." She picks it up. Her eyes are normal and reactive to light. Despite the metal bottle to the head he rules out concussion for now. 

There's no blood, which is honestly a miracle, except for a small scratch on her chin. Doesn't even need stitches. 

"Michael?" Her voice strained. Nervous. He looks up from where he's securing a small bandage to her chin. But she's not looking at him. Following her eyes… his heart drops. 

"My ankle isn't supposed to look like that right?" She quickly grabs on to the pocket of his jacket. 

"No it is not." Robby can tell it's fractured. 

"Fuck…" She replies slowly. "Do you have to like- uhm- like set it? Or Whatever?" Both of them still looking at her foot.

"Yes I am." He already pulling out his phone, despite not having any service he should still be able to contact emergency services. 

"Wait-" Her eyes wide, holding the jacket he shucked off, "this is going to hurt?" Well, he didn't shove it in her mouth for no reason. 

"Yeah honey." Robby nods, the expression on his face telling her it physically pains him to have to do this. "But only for a second. I promise." A kiss is pressed to her forehead. 

He can see the apprehension on her eyes. "I'll get you the biggest margarita or ice cream sundae or honestly whatever the fuck you want baby." Hating the situation they're in. "You're so brave… and strong-"  

"Holy- Fuck. Okay." She nods. "Giant fucking margarita… Count to three?" 

He nods except he doesn't want her to tense when he gets to three. So, he says, "One. Two-"

The crack and pop is sharp in the otherwise quiet morning in the woods. 

The jacket sleeve falls from her mouth as she gasps for air. Choking which turning into gagging and spitting up some of her granola bar from an hour ago. Robby rubs circles across her back.  

"I thought we said three." She snaps though not necessarily mad at him. Just in pain. 

He moves his hands up to her shoulder. Letting her grip his wrist tightly. Leaning in to his lap. "I didn't want you to tense up." Kissing the back of her hand. 

"Paramedics will be here in twenty minutes. But I have to get you out of here." He splints and ties up her ankle before helping on to his back.

"What about-" He shakes his head. "I'll be fine." Waving her off. 

It's about halfway when he feels himself seizing up. "T-tell me a story-" going back to what they had been doing on the walk down the hill. 

She rubs his shoulders the best she can, knowing this isn't easy for him to be carrying her like this. "I had a client a few months ago who I hadn't talked to in a while. I saw her email name had changed and I asked if she had recently gotten married-" She stops talking when he stops walking, needing a break. The tension tight in his back. "Keep going." He nods to her. 

"She told me she'd been recently divorced." He starts to walk again so she continues. "It got so much worse after that and it was already awkward… I don't even remember what sparked her to tell me but she said she caught her husband cheating on her with her best friend.."

"What did you do?" They're nearly back to camp. 

"I told her I was sorry and after we finished the meeting for the day I pawned her off on a coworker and never spoke to her again." The embarrassment of what happened and the guilt of cutting her off after their awkward encounter creeps in from time to time but she forces herself to push it down. 

The paramedics arrive soon after Robby sets her down carefully then stretches his back. He watches her sleep on the ambulance ride to the nearest hospital after she was given some pain medicine. 

A boot for 6 weeks and some physical therapy. 

"You know…" She looks over at Robby slowly. A little loopy. "I had a lot of fun camping." 

That makes him laugh. "Did you?" 

"Mhm. We should do it again." Nodding. 

"I'll ask you again when you're not on drugs." He softens his laugh to a light chuckle. Pressing a kiss in her hair. 

"Okay…" She whispers before falling asleep again.

What is the bucktommy hiatus event?

The bucktommy hiatus event is an event hosted by bucktommysource that begins on June 1st and runs for 8 weeks to inspire fans of this ship to create new fanworks during the hiatus! We're running two sets of prompts - one more specific, and one more vague - but a prompt can be picked from either list for any type of fanwork. You can pick strictly from one prompt list for the 8 weeks, mix and match across them, combine prompts from both lists (e.g. combining the week 2 prompts of 'quote(s)' and 'baking' to form a fanwork) - anything you can think of! Participation isn't strict; if you're only inspired by 1 or 2 of the weeks, feel free to just make content for those weeks. The main purpose of the event is to have fun - it shouldn't be stressful or taxing. And just because these prompts run across two months doesn't mean you can't make content after that! If you see this in August, September, October - hell, any time! - feel free to use the prompts as inspiration. The full list of prompts can be found in our introductary post here!

What can I make for this event?

Can you be more specific in what you mean by a prompt?

The prompts in this event are intentionally vague (especially in the second list!) and there's no right or wrong way to interpret them. We encourage people to be creative with the way they interpret them!

I missed the beginning of the event/I joined late/ I missed a few weeks - can I still join?

Yes! You can participate in as many, or as few, prompts as you like.

I missed a week, can I still do the prompt?

Of course! If you stumbled on this event late, or, for example, missed week 1 and we're not on week 4, you can still create content for any of the prompts you've missed! The only thing we ask is that you don't skip ahead and do future weeks early!

Can I make multiple things per prompt?

Absolutely!

Can I combine prompts? For example, can I combine week the 1 'home' prompt with the week 6 'firsts' prompt?

You can! All we ask is that, if this is something you want to do, you hold off on posting it until the later week - so, in the above example, you hold off on posting it until week 6. We don't want people to skip ahead on weeks that haven't arrived yet!

I want to create something in multiple parts (eg. multi-chapter fic, series of gifsets) for one of the prompts - do all parts need to be completed and posted during the relevant week?

No - it's 100% fine to just post the first of a fic or gifset during the relevant week!

Can I create content that is mature or NSFW for the event?

Yes - just make sure you tag everything properly both on tumblr and external sites (like AO3), especially if the subject matter could potentially be upsetting or triggering!

How do I add my fic to the AO3 collection?

1. From your fic, click ‘edit’, and scroll down to the ‘associations’ section. 2. In the 'Post to Collections / Challenges’ field, enter 'bucktommy hiatus event' and you should see the bucktommy hiatus event (bucktommyhiatus) appear in the autocomplete list. 3. Do I have to mention the event/prompt when I post my creation? Like in the caption of a gifset or the notes of a fic?

Hello and happy Wednesday Fandom and wonderful readers :) This was another solid episode. The hitman SL could be interpreted in a few ways I think. Which is kind of fun. I'll be real honest I'm not 100 percent sure what the endgame is and such. This doesn't feel done. But that is the fun part of these 'First' impressions. Those first initials thoughts. Would I like to be spot on and right all the time? Sure who wouldn't be? haha

But I'm also ok being off or wrong about this as well. I'm sure my outlook will be wildly different when this ep gets added to my master list this summer. I was entertained though I will say that. We got to have Tim/Angela on a case too. What's not to love there? Bestie time is always appreciated.

Second LOVED The Lucy/Celina SL. I'm very close to my sister so it struck an emotional chord with me. Just like her sister SL did the first time. As a all around episode I really enjoyed it. Not gonna say it was 7x08, 7x09, 7x11 or 7x12 caliber but I liked it all around like last ep. That is the theme of this season. Plus I'll never say no to another hug. Ever. Hard to believe we're in the home stretch. The final 5 are left including this one. This has gone way too fast. Only 4 left after this one. Better to not dwell on that too long. Let us begin.

7x14 Mad About Murder

We start off in what has become my happy place this season. Tim's house. Just makes me giddy to be there. No matter the occupants with him. Obviously the most enjoyable is when Lucy is there ha. But I'm getting such joy out of the use of it. I'm sure Eric was thrilled considering he fought so hard to get it back. Love that man. Oh Captain, my Captain.

Tim invited Miles over to strong arm him into the touch football game. Which is beyond precious by the way. I love seeing Tim so passionate about it. We know how much he loves football. What it means to him. Also how competitive he is. Was giving 1x05 vibes. Their convo is interrupted by a knock. The minute Tim opened the door and that man said his rank and name I was anxious.

Now I will say the way he cocked his gun and reopened the door. Have mercy. I was here for it. Tim in streets plus that? Thank you writers for this morsel. The dude's face when Tim reappears with the gun is priceless. Not what he signed up for. But what did he expect showing up to a cop's house with a message like that? Tim doesn't have time for this and has Miles cuff the guy.

This is where all my questions and anxiety stem from for this SL. Questions like. Who is this person? Why are they wanting to take down this site? But mostly WHY Tim? Why deliver it to him? This is where my nerves kick in. This unknown voice saying they will destroy him if he tries to find out. They could mean 'You.' as the collective LAPD 'You.' But they could also not.

Now would I be reacting this way if this was delivered to Nolan? No. Not even a little bit. Sorry John. lol But I am over protective over him and Lucy. More so than anyone else on this show. Something I'm sure is obvious af to you all. The fact that this landed on Tim's doorstep put me on edge from the moment it happened.

Just didn't sit right with me. Them finding Tim at his house and presenting it the way they did. I could be overreacting but my initial gut reaction to this was anxiety and questions. That is the fun of going through these the first time though and seeing how it unfolds. Was quite the start to the ep.

Poor Celina I can't even imagine what she was feeling. To take the darkest moment of your life and hear people talk and comment on it? What a violation. I feel dirty just writing about it. Let alone living it. I do love that Lucy love's true crime. That has always made me chuckle. She lives and breathes it and craves more in her off time.

Lucy's face when she hears Celina's name. Ugh. I would've reacted the same way. Taken off like a bat out of hell. Ready to destroy this podcaster. Lucy is barely able to keep up with Celina as she all but bolts towards this woman's place. Trying to be supportive of how she feels but wanting to keep her anger contained. Since she is a a public servant and all.

We can see the concern written all over her face as she chases Celina. She's such a good friend. I love her. We all need a Lucy in our lives friend wise. Luckily she is able to contain it best she can with Celina pulling her mom out. They run into another woman in the hall. One desperately looking for her pregnant sister who has been missing for weeks. Celina's mom volunteering them to help her. Their SL begins.

What I loved about this SL was we got to have Tim and Angela on a case together. Bestie's unite on this one. This may be random af but made me think of a thing on New Girl. 'A Classic Winston and Cece mess around.' LOL A classic Tim and Angela case. This scene above being why. The looks shared between them while they investigate these clueless people haha Didn't have the space to get third guy in but their shared looks are top notch.

That first lady is clearly checking Tim out. No shame in her game. Saying as long as his arm as she checked out his arm lmao I mean, I was checking out his arms too, but I always do that when they’re in plain view like that. The way he turns around to Angela had me cackling. Man never knows how to take being hit on. Never has. Never will.

Eric is so effortlessly funny it’s subtle, but it lands so well. And Alyssa? Her reaction in kind is absolute perfection. They're so good together. The second one hitting on Angela is too funny. I was laughing so hard. "Not this shorty.' Ha I really do love when they're paired together. Only other person Tim has this good of chemistry with on a case, besides Lucy, is Angela. Their banter and teamwork is *chef's kiss* So you'll never see me complain about them tackling a case together.

They find out hitman and clients alike are being wiped out due to website being hacked. Which is horrifying with how quickly they found that out tbh. I mean clearly the person who let Tim know and the person wiping out these people are not the same.

Makes me wonder who the hell it is.... I'm assuming that's the idea. That we aren't supposed to know. What they do know is they have a list of people to stop from being killed.

Nolan tries to make a dad joke and fails HARD. The look between them had me cracking up. I did love their in-sync turn to face John. Only other person I would be comfortable Tim having this much case chemistry with is her. Bestie magic at it's finest. They're so over Nolan's BS and I'm laughing so very hard. Thinking he has something important to say and it's that....Swing and a miss good sir. I love them.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the authority Lucy exudes in this scene. Takes control of the situation immediately. Telling Heather she needs to leave. Not in a minute. Not after they talk. NOW. Of course she tries to contest it and that doesn't fly with Lucy. Not one bit. 'She's not in charge. I am.' *mic drop* Like hot damn girl. You're every bit the badass you don’t give yourself credit for. Look at you. I'm so proud.

Forever in awe of the confident BAMF of a woman she has become. It floors me just like Tim's growth. Makes me so happy to see. I adore Lucy taking on this leader/protector role for Celina in this episode. Knowing these waters are going to be choppy emotionally for her with this one. Celina has come a long way but this is a trigger for her. One she wouldn't be able to handle on her own.

Now I totally understand why Taylor did this. I'm very close to my sister. She's basically one of my best friends. I cannot imagine having a fallout like that and then have her go missing. I would be sick with worry and guilt. Needing to do SOMETHING to fix it. To alleviate the anxiety and worry eating me alive. I would be insane with stress and reaching out to anyone to help me. As I said earlier this SL struck a personal chord with me. They wrote this very well.

We get to the scene (other than the hug) I was most excited to get to. Some bestie time at Tim's house. Which I am more than happy they are at once again. They take a break from work and Tim asks if she wants a drink? They shift from work to personal life pretty quickly. Thank you Angela. You are a Queen and we all adore you for it. Doesn’t hold back on giving him shit in the slightest. No matter the subject. We are not worthy madam. But forever grateful.

She starts out slow. Asking about the game. If he convinced Miles to join yet or not? I love her easing him into it. She knows this man well. Tim jokes he threatened a blue page. Angela poking and prodding in a way only she can. Tim saying this game is important to him. Angela knows exactly what that is code for. All his issues with his father and what football represented for him. Doesn't waste a second calling him out for it. Tim asking if she always has to poke at his feelings? Uh duh.

Of course she wants to talk feelings. What else do you expect Timothy? Sure it's a convo she's been wanting to have for awhile with him. Especially with Tim and Lucy in a seemingly better place, a confusing, messy place, but still better. One where no one, including them, fully knows what that means. Clearly that is coming across to everyone in the station Angela included. Also love her saying he's one of the girls and girls gossip LOL Fantastic but true. What happens you have a girl-bestie my love. They wanna talk feelings.

Angela doesn't beat around the bush. Telling him to just spill it. He's not going to win this battle and he knows it. Asking Tim what's going on with him and Lucy? I will say this scene gave me 6x06 vibes. That scene in the car at the dock while they're tailing Ray. Angela giving him her advise whether he wants it or not. He isn't nearly as obstinate now as he was then. He is just a smidge this time around haha. It feels mostly banter based though. Tim replying honestly he doesn't know. It's a fair assessment.

They're in a better space but they're not fully healed. She just used his body like a jungle gym not long ago. One he was more than happy to be, but it did make things messier.... So this is a fair reply from him. Following it up with her taking the Sergeants exam. Which is his way of saying he hopes that gives him another crack at winning her back. Angela picks up on this of course. Implying as such in her reply.

Being our on screen shipper saying 'So you two can get back together?' I love her so much. Tim denies it at first. Saying it's good for her career. I mean it is but it is also good for you two and this bloody chain of command issue. Tim letting her know it has come up though.....Angela ask if she can offer a little advice? I was so excited about this for couple reasons. One another square down for my bingo card haha Two. I just really wanted a scene like this. Angela telling him like it is about Lucy. He is far more receptive than he's ever been. Even if he is sassy in his reply above.

The giving season continues on with Angela's spot on advice. Crushing it on all fronts in her guidance. Putting everything on the table since they're talking about it. Starting off with Lucy was (and still is) the best thing that's ever happened to him. FACTS. Just straight FACTS to begin with. The advice is to come. But I love her saying this to start with. We've known this for a very long time. But it is nice to hear it on screen. Just like everything else this season. It's so very satisfying to watch that become cannon. Angela watched over the years the positive impact Lucy has had on her friend. The amazing woman she's become. How happy she made him when they were together. Watched the change in Tim due to her. It had to be said.

She kicked this speech off strong and I was cheering her on. Angela soldiers forward letting him know if he is lucky enough to win her back after ALL he put her though. And as we all know far too painfully well, what he put her through was nothing short of hell. God it was hell on earth for us as well. Idk even with my previous ship I adored I felt as much agony as 6x06 made me feel. I love Angela recognizing that. I really do .She may have no idea the details but she knows the turmoil he thrust upon her with their breakup. The magnitude of it wasn't lost on her. I adore Tim nodding along with all of this. The Tim he is now, the more healed, more grounded one, knows exactly what Angela’s throwing down right now. I love that this is something that is brought up a lot. The severity of what he did doesn't fade. It's ever present.

He isn't shying away from it though. Post-therapy, there’s no one more aware of the damage he inflicted on her than Tim. I love Angela calling him on it and he is in absolute agreeance. No fight whatsoever. Her follow up to that is utter perfection. That he should be on his knees every night, praying in gratitude if he’s lucky enough to get her back. Yes he should be. GOD I LOVE THIS WOMAN. Ain't no one gonna tell him straight like his bestie will. Tim understands the assignment. You can see it when he says 'Understood.' All that’s left is the convo and Lucy's forgiveness at this point. Feel like everything else is in place IMO. We are so close I can feel it.

I admire Lucy apologizing here. I would do the same thing. The guilt would be eating me up. I would want to address the elephant in the room as well. I can't sit on things. I have to talk about them or they'll suffocate me. Lucy doing this is for Celina is just the best.

It's like this episode was trying to remind me why I love Lucy Chen so much. I already knew but I don't hate the reminders. I just adore her having the foresight to know it probably upset Celina. To nip that in the bud before they really dig into this investigation. Adore this woman. Safe to say I might be a little in love with Lucy Chen too haha

I was kinda hoping they’d have a case like this living together I will say. So having them team up like this was exciting to watch. Celina thanking her is everything. She knows what balls it took for Lucy to own up to listening to that podcast. To be vulnerable and confront it like she did. I love their bond it's so sweet. I'm sure it's something Celina NEEDED to hear but would've never asked of Lucy. That's what makes the moment so impactful and special IMO. I love their friendship so very much.

This entire sequence put me on edge in the best way. It was so good. The way they teamed up and saved this girl and child. Also Lucy Chen you are an absolute BAMF. That almost doesn't seem like enough of a word for her. Holy Hell. Do you see how she flew through that window and was immediately ready to negotiate?

Gun drawn ready to talk this unstable person down? I am in awe of her Fandom. Doesn't hesitate to pull that trigger when its warranted. To save that little babies life. To think you doubted you were a bad ass in 7x11 Lucy. SMH. Bailey should be the one metaphorically holding the beer now LOL If only she could see herself the way we all saw her. Goodness she is impressive.

Look at Lucy comforting Celina. Knowing right away this must be upsetting for her. How could it not be? They got to have the ending she was robbed of. I’m sure this is striking a deep chord within her. Lucy is making sure she is ok. Letting her know it's ok if she isn't ok.

I love that so much. When you don’t get any validation growing up, it’s such a blessing to find people who do that for you. Validate your feelings. Not only that but letting you know sometimes it's ok not to be ok. I can't explain how this hit just right.

I loved Lucy being that friend in this moment for her. Something very healing about receiving it. You can see Celina wants to cry after she say this. She've given her the space to not be ok with this. It's lovely. This scene got me square in the heart I will say. What a good episode for them both. Holy cow. Lucy spots her person waiting for her and feels the siren call of him. Letting Celina know she is going to be right back. That when she is she'll take her home.

Have to get some Feral Caitlin out before we start on this hug. Mmmm god Tim showing up looking like a god damn snack. Just look at him above when he arrives. Badge showing, tight red shirt, and jeans. Lord have mercy. This man will be the death of me in the best way.... I love him coming to check on her right away. Clearly hearing she had to shoot that crazy woman. His first priority is her. She’s the first thing on his mind and the first place he runs to.

I cannot with how much I love this. Adore that Tim is the one to initiate this hug. Transparent Tim continues to make me happy beyond belief. Doesn't ask if she needs a hug. Just engulfs her in his arms, the moment she is close enough for him to scoop her up. Lucy easily folds into him. Like the perfect puzzle piece she always is in their hugs. Just locking into place like it's where she should always be. Look at her above It's the first time she's been allowed to fall apart a little.

The little happy grunt she does once she's in his arms. *screams* The look of absolute relief that he is there is getting me emotional af. Like she can breathe a little knowing he’s there. Tim happy to be the one to hold her up if only for a brief moment. Also can we talk about where her hands are and where she slowly withdraws them? So intimately placed…my goodness. Tim trying to make a joke to get her to smile. It doesn't land like he wants with her defeated reply. So he just nods being whatever she needs in this moment.

I adore Lucy being open with him about how she’s feeling. That logically she can understand how someone could be that broken. But emotionally? She is wrecked and upset. Hell I am too. That whole scene was disturbing to watch unfold. I love that she leans into him emotionally when something is upsetting and hurts. Just like old times. We all know It’s how she makes sense of things by talking them out. Lucy knows he’s steady enough of a pillar to work it out with her.

That she feels safe enough to do that with him constantly now. Look at how we started this season. She wouldn't talk to him about Seth and her initials issues. Now look at her. It’s been a slow, steady kind of healing and there’s something so beautiful in that. How naturally it's come without being rushed. I commend the writers so much this year for it's pace. The maturity of it all has blown me away.

Now Tim just screaming his feelings once again in his reply. Concern pouring out of him. The relief in his eyes knowing she’s ok is glorious. To him at the end of the day Lucy being ok is more important to him than anything else. He conveys as much to her. This man isn’t going to waste a single moment with her without making sure she knows how much she matters to him. Keep showing up for her Tim. I know I have said that a lot but it's working. His consistency in moments like this are paramount to building toward their reconciliation and that talk.

It's sweet she is leaning on him a second time here. Asking if it was ok if she didn't come to the game later? Needing his reassurance to take care of herself. He gladly gives her it. The way he builds her up before saying he’s got her back I cannot. That is his speciality this year. Building his girl up when she needs him the most. Love me some s7 Tim fandom. I loved this man before; but God almighty, he has leveled up this year and I love him even more, if that’s possible.

I adore him listing all the ways she's earned her break. The reverence in his tone as he explains all the reasons she deserves to go rest. The man doesn’t need extra reasons to be so gone for her, but she just keeps stacking them up with badass moments like this. Also we got to see a little protective Tim coming out in his reply. He wouldn’t hesitate to destroy anyone who tried to give him crap about her missing it. Little bit of feral Tim comes out and he stops himself. And just says he’ll fill them in.

You watch him take a beat before he says it. Then finishes with 'I'll fill them in.' When really he’s wants to rip them a new asshole if they say anything. But refrains from saying as such ha Like to note the way Lucy looks at him adoringly as he answers the phone. The heart eyes are real. She didn’t decompress until her person arrived. Just being strong for Celina then he showed up and she could fall apart a little. *happy sigh* His sweet touch before he has to go has my shipper heart all happy. Gah I love them.

There is literally no purpose to this gif other than the sinfully delicious man above. Just flexing those sexy forearms as they prep. Before she leaves she mentions the thing that's been bugging me this entire SL. Who is the person that contacted Tim? Is there any significance in him being chosen? Or was it just random? My gut just isn't sitting well with Tim being the chosen one to receive the news. So who this is? I guess that’s still TBD.... For now. I might be overreacting like I stated earlier. Simply because it's Tim who was the target to start the case. Like I said if it was Nolan I wouldn't bat an eye.

Could be mean nothing but we're headed toward the end of season.... So I'm a little on edge bout finale implications. I could be completely wrong and this has zero to do with Tim. Could have no connection to him at all. This could be another Monica fueled plan to get more players off the board.

And while that might not be him directly. If true doesn't mean he wouldn't be collateral damage in it all. Especially if this person wants revenge for being revealed and told him as much. My anxiety was cranked for this and I can't explain why. All I do know is we are not done with this whatever it is. And that's what makes me nervous. I don't have answers lol and that's ok shall see how this ends up playing out.

Tis Entire game was adorable and I loved it. As Giants fan And Eli Manning being the brother I love more I adored Cooper Manning being in this ep. That was amazing haha Also Angela trying to bribe Wes was everything LOL Nolan's face was funny in reply. Also it was pot shot at the refs from last season in the NFL I'm dying. IFYYK. Won't say no to Sports Tim in my fav color rocking a black eye. Idk why that does it for me. But honestly anything about this man does it for me let's be honest. haha Was a light and fun way to end the ep.

Next week looks GOOOOOD. I know the documentary eps aren't always well received. But I always have a soft spot for them. They're usually hilarious and more importantly produce excellent Chenford content. They're being interviewed together for it too. So I am ready for whatever goodies we get in this episode. May even get a more open Tim than we've ever seen with these. Especially if the topic of Lucy is brought up and or their relationship. It's a bummer about Abagail. I do love all the s2 tie backs this season. Rachel and Now her.

What CJ did last night was highly unprofessional and unacceptable for someone fostering minors in his community. I think it's sobering to remember that individuals as young as 13 years old can freely join and play. They could be in the discord. They could have witnessed whatever that was last night and it could impact them negatively. It is highly inappropriate to trauma dump in his discord as an owner; I understand that he feel victimized and it's valid to feel feelings, I'm not telling him that he can't, but CJ as the responsible adult need to understand that he shouldn't use his pet site audience as his dumping ground. I understand that this may frustrate and piss him off, but he needs to understand the gravity of being the owner of Santae.

I also understand it may frustrate him that I'm not placing any share of the blame on the parties that he views as attackers. This isn't what I'm talking about right now, so I'm not touching on that. That's all.

CJ, to address you directly - you are not a regular player just like "all of you". You are a developer. You hold a certain power by that title alone that, when you act like you did last night, can be classified as emotional manipulation. By bringing your significant other into the conversation, how horrible you feel, how bullied you are - it gives the idea that you are actively searching for 1) immediate sympathy and 2) people to defend you. You overstepped a massive, and concerning, boundary last night. I'll keep repeating it because of how strongly I feel about it.

You may not mean for this, and I'm not making fun of you or attacking you for saying this. I want to make that clear. You need someone unbiased who doesn't know you personally to talk to, like an actual therapist or another outside completely unrelated source. Talking to anyone close to Santae (or you) results in an echo chamber that spirals and revolves and wraps you up in stress. There's no separation and that's hard for anyone's mental health. Users aren't there to buffer your feelings. They're there to be users.

And for what it's worth, this unprofessionalism has been a concern since Santae has first kicked off. If you search the Santae tag on Tumblr and read some of the comments on the older posts regarding issues (the ID request, artist issues, etc) you'll see people expressing their concern about the development team not being able to maintain boundaries.

One example: you sent an email when you blocked someone that was wholly inappropriate and should be addressed, quite frankly. You didn't maintain the boundary of just banning the user and blocking them like an adult who owns a pet site, you had to stoop down into your wounded feelings and wield that power one more time to try and harm them the way that you felt harmed. You're mixing your personal feelings with professional actions and this will not assure the longevity of Santae. At all.

"To take words and share them publicly, stripped of context and trust like everyone else chooses to do. For what, we may never understand what happiness or joy you and a select group choose to speak in a bad way on any topic without telling the entire story. is not only deeply disappointing, but also a violation of the standards we expect every member to uphold."

This is absolutely emotional manipulation, an egregious crossing of boundaries re: owner vs user, and just unacceptable. Santae is close to you, but an attack on Santae shouldn't be an attack on you. CJ and Santae are two different entities. It's troubling that you and Santae seemed so tightly intertwined that you can no longer tell the difference.

This has gone on long enough, so I'll wrap it up here. Fwiw, I hope your s/o feels better, genuinely. I really do hope you take this as a genuine conversation of concern.

I hope you figure it out man. Yeah, it sucks. But that's part of being at the top. It's gonna suck, but you have to hold onto the positive and try to figure out the change it's going to take to get yourself in a better headspace.

okay, shipping brainrot from my last post aside, i'm still thinking about the shapeshifter arc. the other sites i use don't have inline posting or do but it's clunky, so i guess i'm theorizing here. some of this may seem obvious; bear with me, i'm not trying to be patronizing, just working through things. this will probably be long.

(edit: i've since learned there's canon explanations for all of this. regrettably i don't like them. enjoy my ideas of what would be better maybe? but keep in mind i wrote this before i knew it had been explained anywhere else.)

(edit again: i've done a 180 and come fully around on the canon explanations! i have a lot of thoughts about them but this isn't the post for that. anyway i'm disabling reblogs, sorry. you can still look at this if you want)

laios reveals what he knows of shapeshifters, and that they function on memory:

no one ever really suggests in chapters 39 or 40 who thought of which fake except in the case of which ones laios must have thought of, but i want to posit who i think each one came from, and what it means narratively if i'm right. so, mostly a thought experiment/character study that i could be wrong about or that was never meant to be clearly defined in the first place. but maybe fun to think about? (i'm sure other people have done this before too, but i think it'll be fun to write up.)

from the outset, i think it's worth mentioning that chilchuck knows all three laios fakes are, in fact, fakes. two chilchucks say this, but the one on the right is the real one. senshi and marcille immediately corroborate this, though we can't tell which of them it is except that it's not any of the really obvious fakes.

what i think this suggests is that, brought to the surface, the warped perceptions of the rest of the party that chilchuck, senshi, and marcille have can be easily discerned when compared with the real thing. each of these laioses is from one of them, but they immediately figure out none of them are right with the real laios right there in the room. this is important.

as for who's who...

i think it's fair to assume that giant laios is from chilchuck. laios is the tallest member of their party, at six feet; while chilchuck sees marcille and senshi as their correct heights, laios is a giant to him, and his bulky armor doesn't help. that's why, even if this is his perception, it's glaringly obvious that it's wrong as soon as it's made physical. it's the only big one, and easily falls into the camp of "doesn't seem to know much about monsters" that the others also do.

stupid laios is, i think, from marcille. because the giant one is so likely chilchuck's and i don't think senshi sees laios as someone who stupidly wants to eat everything (even if senshi's opinion of him isn't stellar right now, "i have to eat it" wouldn't be paired with being an idiot to senshi), it tracks that marcille would be the one to remember him this way. to someone who doesn't appreciate their monster eating and otherwise thinks he's an idiot just as much as the others do, dumbly muttering about eating things seems like a reasonable portrayal of laios.

feminine laios, then, is from senshi. i think his physical perception of the other party members is the most off-base; this is likely because he's known them for the least amount of time, and his idea of what they look like is based more on their races than anything else. i think the resemblance to falin might not be intentional--someone suggested to me the other day that the dwarf perception of tall-men is probably more feminine in contrast to how Macho dwarfs are. i think that makes sense (if it ever comes up canonically, i haven't seen it yet). laios and falin do just... look like gender-swapped versions of each other, also. so if senshi sees laios as a feminine person, well... that just winds up looking like falin.

so this leaves us with only the real laios. confronted with their perceptions of him, his friends can immediately tell all three are incorrect.

moving on, we eliminate the three most obvious fakes from the rest of the party, starting with marcille:

if we take into account what i just said about senshi, i think this is his. racial stereotypes about elves being what they are, him not knowing the party as well as the other members do... she stands out, and that's why.

now this is where things start to get interesting.

the next two fakes to be eliminated aren't so blatantly incorrect that they can be struck right out at a glance, but it's not hard to notice the flaws when you look closer, and chilchucks A and B are the ones to point it out. chilchuck is naturally observant; most of his fakes seem to emulate this. (the one who addresses the fakes is A, the real one, but B is proving himself able to pick up on the things A notices. this is important.)

notably, chilchuck and senshi assume these must be laios's versions of them.

we can assume this is correct, if we want to. we can take the framing of this as being an intentional reflection of the truth.

or... or... we can look a little deeper. we can wonder if, perhaps, this isn't a reflection of laios, but a reflection of his friends and what they think of him. laios may not immediately notice the problems, but i don't think it's because he doesn't remember these details. i don't think laios sees much of anything in vague terms; he's observant in his own right, but in ways he doesn't really recognize, nor does anyone else. i think he was so focused on their faces and mannerisms that he didn't notice the bigger picture, glossing over something because so many other factors are at play.

senshi and chilchuck think laios doesn't take notice of things, but the vast majority of the shapeshifter arc is about them and marcille not trusting laios's judgement as it is, given how things went recently. is it possible there's more to their assumptions here than what the text explicitly says? i think so!

so then who do these two belong to? marcille, i think.

if we assume dumb laios is hers, then we can also assume her perceptions of the others are kind of broad and vague. she doesn't think poorly of them, necessarily (at least not in as obvious a way as she does with laios, who, i'll remind you, she's currently upset with), but she doesn't commit unimportant details to memory, like chilchuck's neck band or the damage to senshi's helmet.

we've got three more "obvious" fakes to get through, and laios offers another lore tidbit on how the shapeshifters work:

anyway, the first of the next round is marcille again, setting the stage for how these three next fakes are eliminated.

marcille changes her hairstyle all the time, so this isn't a surprise. the last one pictured here winds up being our next fake, as indicated by her grimoire:

so the fake marcille in this section is the one with the most visibly different hair texture (who even draws attention to this), and the spellbook that's woefully incompetent. i think she's from chilchuck.

he's observant, as i said before; even if he didn't commit her hair to memory, he did remember the stuff she's said about how important hair is to magic. maybe that's why the texture is so striking. more importantly, chilchuck isn't wary of magic quite the way senshi is, but he also doesn't understand it. the general tone of the low-quality grimoire also just... sounds like the way he'd frame something like that. (plus, the "how to turn back time" bit is a thing he specifically called her on when she suggested it a few chapters ago.)

so the next fake chilchuck and senshi are revealed via their tools:

i think the chubby-cheeked chilchuck with the simple lockpicks is from senshi, and i think the ordinary-looking senshi with the simple cookware is from chilchuck. the former speaks for itself--senshi sees chilchuck as a child, and knows absolutely nothing about picking locks. as for the fake senshi, chilchuck has a decent mental image of him but knows nothing about cookware.

so now we're down to the final three fakes, and there's only one person left who they could be from: laios. nobody thinks this, not even laios himself, but i want to explore the concept because i think it has extreme merit. the three remaining fakes have some key similarities between them, namely in that they're all close enough interpretations that making a distinction is difficult. they look a tiny bit different, but both the real people and their fakes make plausible cases for why they're the actual person. i want to talk about why i think laios is the one who made that so, and what that means about him.

chapter 39 ends with all his companions--real and fake--doubting his skills. seeing a pattern?

chapter 40 opens with laios determined to regain his friends' trust in him...

...while his friends (and their fakes) talk about how he's liable to like the fakes more, because they're monsters.

this is a needlessly cruel interpretation of laios, but after how things went post-falin-rescue, it's not a surprise. they see him as reckless and single-minded, more interested in the things he's weird about than in the people around him.

laios is really bad at talking about what he's thinking--not because he's hiding it, but because it doesn't occur to him that it's important. meeting the lunatic magician in the paintings is a prime example of this, but he does it a lot. they likely have no idea why he told toshiro about falin and the black magic; to them, laios was being flippant with sensitive information, not worrying about their safety. to laios? he was trying to get help. he trusted toshiro, and his perception of their friendship made him think the information would help them gain an ally who cared about falin as much as they do. he wasn't trying to put falin or marcille in danger--far from it, in fact. but he didn't tell his friends about his thought process. he didn't think it was important to share.

(he's autistic but we all know this. moving on)

so, we have laios's plan: the pairs cook together, while he watches for behavioral differences to discern who's who. it doesn't occur to him, or anyone else, that the people he's watching for mistakes are his own perceptions of his friends. and now we get into the meat of why i wanted to write this post.

assuming i'm correct... let's talk about laios's view of his friends, and how he challenges those perceptions.

starting with my favorite, chilchuck:

chilchuck A, of course, is in fact the real one. this is a pretty significant character moment for him too, in my opinion; we know he has difficulty expressing his emotions, and that a lot of his conflicts so far have stemmed from that. the fact that "chilchuck B asked for help with a menial task" is a gotcha moment to him is... telling. not only because it's so obvious to him, but because it's not obvious to any of his companions. he thinks they know this about him, but he's never openly expressed anything to make them think this is an issue he'd have, in addition to having sought help in the past.

his "convictions and pride and all that" seems to them like someone trying to convince them of something, not someone reminding them of facts he assumes they know.

anyway, back to laios. if we accept that chilchuck B is made from his memories, this suggests several things. first of all, chilchuck B is, despite his softer eyes and willingness to ask for help, still a fairly accurate portrayal of chilchuck. he's easily annoyed and he's observant, two traits chilchuck is known for. i think the reason chilchuck B has the kinder eyes and the more gentle disposition is because to laios, those things are indicative of someone being a good person, and he very much thinks chilchuck is a good person.

we know laios isn't especially good at reading people in general. thus, his idea of who his friends are is skewed in broad strokes, but not in the ways they think. he knows who chilchuck is, but he also associates chilchuck with his own ideas of what makes someone "good", which results in a chilchuck who's less rough around the edges. confronted with this--the real chilchuck asking him if he can tell--laios compares the two and thinks, reasonably speaking, the nicer one who trusts him has to be the friend he respects so much.

senshi and marcille also want to accept this chilchuck, likely for similar reasons. they also respect and care for him; they've seen him go through a lot. laios's ideal of him is just that, ideal. in a roundabout way, it's only their deep fondness for who chilchuck really is that makes them want to see him this way.

next up, we have marcille.

the fake, marcille A, is a radical departure from what makes chilchuck B a fake. laios notes that the real marcille is exactly the same as she always is. the reason, then, that marcille A confuses him--and the others--is that after everything they've been through, their perception of her has changed radically.

if we look back to senshi and chilchuck's marcilles, it's readily apparent when they're eliminated that both interpretations hinge on the knowledge that she performs black magic. senshi's tries to use it to prove herself; chilchuck's has a grimoire loudly proclaiming it's what she does. contrast this to marcille A: she doesn't mention black magic at all, and her grimoire looks strikingly similar to the real one.

that's because laios doesn't think her performing black magic changes anything about who she is. her doing so proved her to be just as dedicated to falin as he himself is, and the knowledge that her goals involve it doesn't faze him. (additionally, marcille has been teaching him magic, and falin had tried in the past. though his image of a grimoire is flawed to someone experienced, to anyone else it looks fine.) thus, marcille A isn't a flagrant black magic wielder; she's someone who's been fundamentally changed by what they--and falin--went through.

let's go back to chapter 27:

chilchuck and senshi are appalled, and will continue to be. while they ultimately don't prevent marcille from doing this, and care enough about both her and laios (and in chilchuck's case, falin as well) to be in tentative support, this changes their view of her in a negative way. she's dangerous now, in a way she wasn't before, but she's still marcille--goofy and a little reckless. thus, their views of her, and the illusions that result.

laios's opinion of her changes for the better.

she is, all at once, both competent and loyally dedicated. she will stop at nothing to help falin. whatever goofiness she exhibited before now is gone, replaced by the cold demeanor of someone who is doing something extremely dangerous for reasons that are inherently selfish, but ultimately too important to reject.

thus, we return to marcille A: cold, sharp, dedicated. not reckless or goofy, but methodical and haunted. she may have returned to "normal" since they left the castle town, but laios's opinion of her, and understanding of her love for falin, has been forever changed.

so faced with the real marcille--still silly, still whining, still frequently annoyed with him--he's confused, because that's deeply familiar, but it doesn't line up with what he knows about her now.

the truth, of course, is nuanced--these things are true about marcille, but only under duress; it's similar to how laios becomes a competent leader when the going gets tough. she has this within her, but it's not her default state of being. still, the shapeshifter picks up on the strongest memories laios has of her, this new interpretation of someone he thought he knew.

now then--onto senshi, the punchline of this particular joke about the differences between the copies. i still think it says a lot.

i think this one speaks for itself, though i find chilchuck's agreement interesting. senshi is the newest member of the team; little is known about him. laios happily notes that senshi "always looks cool" while chilchuck says he looks normal (and chilchuck B insults the real one). laios sees senshi this way because he thinks senshi is cool as hell, and this manifests in an idealized version of a face he's not as familiar with as he is with chilchuck and marcille.

this is clearly comedy, but it also speaks to the same desire to see the best in the rest of the party. marcille is the only one who notices likely because her opinion of senshi isn't so romanticized. chilchuck's senshi, of note, wasn't a perfect replica: we don't see much of him after the obvious fakes are hauled off, but he's a little squashed (he's the top one):

which indicates that chilchuck's visual memory of senshi is already flawed. if we compare this to giant laios and the marcille with the unique hair texture, it tells us chilchuck's attention to detail is more specific than the others'; he can remember the hole in the helmet, the importance of hair, but he doesn't quite see the bigger picture. giant laios is also surprisingly... rugged? which i imagine has to do with chilchuck's perception of him as a tall-man. (or maybe how he clearly has trouble seeing laios's face half the time, lmao...)

anyway. laios thinks senshi is super cool and chilchuck has an imperfect idea of what senshi look like as it is. (i wonder if chilchuck is some degree of faceblind? not enough to not recognize someone at all, but can't pinpoint specifics.)

and so, we arrive at the moment of truth.

so let's go over what i'm theorizing here... all the remaining fakes are illusions based on how laios sees his friends. the illusions manage to make mistakes that reveal the truth to him, but i think the reason for that harkens back to what laios said earlier... the illusions are being updated over time.

laios isn't considering any of the things that give the fakes away until this moment. if it had taken a little longer to resolve things, maybe they'd have started course-correcting, but they aren't given the chance. laios makes sure they aren't--he acts very quickly. even as he presents the three pairs with his findings, he's aware that everything will fall apart as soon as he does... and he's banking on that. while the shapeshifter illusions defend themselves from being killed, he gets right to the heart of the matter in the only way he knows how: confronting the actual monster involved.

when all's said and done, laios reveals how he figured it out:

potentially of note, all of these details happened before the red dragon fight. chilchuck fighting a mimic and revealing his history with them, senshi gushing about the dungeon's ecosystem, and marcille being attacked by the undine weren't super recent memories. when laios brought them forth in his mind, he had a delay before the shapeshifter updated its illusions.

well... except with marcille. marcille A actually didn't show her hand so easily; it was the real marcille's carelessness that proved her identity.

but what this suggests is that, when confronted with the realities of marcille versus his idealized version of her, laios had to make a choice: did it make more sense for her to have been radically changed by the revival and subsequent loss of falin, or was the presence of a marcille he knew so well proof of an illusion? she was the one who was the most different, and as such, the contrast was the same one that eliminated all three laioses at the start: with the real thing in the room, the fake became apparent.

so, to reach a conclusion: one again, laios has proven he's not as scatterbrained as his companions think, but this time he did so on a more personal level than usual. to them, he reveals that he knows their quirks enough to define them by such when they're otherwise faced with convincing copies. to us, the readers, if we accept what i've suggested here... he's revealed a lot more. he respects, admires, and idolizes his friends, all out of fondness: he wants to see them in an ideal way, whatever that means for each of them as individuals.

Stop Stealing from Authors

As an author, please please PLEASE do not download 'free' ebooks or listen to 'free audiobooks' on YouTube etc.

Books take work to research and write, and author advances are already incredibly low, without us having to PAY THEM BACK to the publisher because the book isn't earning enough. Authors are already earning far far below the minimum wage per hour of work we put in.

Many ebooks are incredibly cheap already and have regular price drops down to 99p/$0.99, and are FREE using a library app.

Audiobooks likewise can be accessed digitally for FREE via the library.

Authors in countries like my own receive a small amount of money when you access our content via the library. Money which means we can keep writing books. Using the library also gives them visitor numbers and incentivises funding, preventing library closures.

Funding piracy makes the already very hard job of writing as a career even harder and endangers library resources.

'Well then maybe you should get a real job' I have a job, and that job is being an author. It is very entitled to tell authors that we need to essentially have a full time job AND still produce content for you to enjoy for free, at a speed/quality which makes writing also a fulltime job.

As a fulltime author I wrote 3 novels last year, each with 4-5 rounds of edits at different stages in the process. I also edited the two books I wrote the previous year during that time. Hundreds of hours of work. And I have since seen piracy websites making money off of that work.

Saying that piracy 'expands the reach of our books' is as insulting as being 'paid in exposure'. If you want something that someone made, you have to pay them for it. It is not doing someone a favour, to steal from them. And let's be real - how many people are you telling about each book you steal? Are you recommending the piracy site to others in the same breath? Are you just rating on goodreads and counting that as 'payment' for what you stole?

'But then I can't read all the books I want to read' - Why should you get everything you want? Genuine question. I don't have all the make-up I want, or all the decor I want, but I'm not shoving stuff in my pockets because it's not fair that I don't get to have everything my magpie brain desires. You don't have enough time in your life to read every book anyway. You have to choose.

I bet you also have more than one unread book in your possession, right now. Probably a TBR pile. Why do you need another one for free, when you have books to read? And if you don't want to read those books, you can access every book, via the library.

Authors would even prefer that you buy our books second hand, because at least that 1. is good for the environment as it keeps books out of landfill and 2. benefits charity if you purchase for a charity bookshop/ doesn't benefit pirates. And 3. unlike a stolen ebook, you can donate it again and it will be visible on a shop shelf, attracting new readers.

'You should write because you love it, not for money' I do write because I love it, that's why I spent years learning my craft and working to get published. So I could do this as a job. I even write fanfic on the side as a hobby, and that is VERY different to writing publishable novels for my editor - I get to do all the fun stuff with none of the WORK that my writing job requires.

I don't love being told what setting/theme is 'hot right now' and needs to be in my next novel. Or re-reading my book for the 15th time to look for typos, or spending 4-5 hours every morning writing to meet a crunch deadline and the rest of the day brainstorming the new idea which is due in a week, answering emails and editing. It's my job, not a hobby, and it's not all fun, all the time. No one page edits for the LOVE of it.

'If buying isn't owning, then piracy isn't stealing' - Unlike films/tv, books are still available as physical media you can own forever. They're also less likely to vanish from your ereader because they aren't licenced like a tv show.

'I don't want to support a horrible person but I still want the book' - so...you agree that pirating does nothing for the author? Good. Because that 'spreading awareness stuff' we already covered, is bullshit. But if they're so terrible...why do you want to read something that was invented in their brain, and is likely full of their terrible values/dog whistles? Why not find new authors to support instead of hate reading/continuing to absorb content from people you fundamentally dislike?

Lastly, the argument I routinely see is that 'it's just the same as lending a copy to a friend'. It is not. Firstly because you're putting money into the pockets of those who stole our work, via ad-rev on their sites, whereas lending a book to a friend doesn't result in you making money off of someone else's work. But also, lending the book to ONE person is not the same as making it available to EVERYONE. I just filed a copyright takedown on one of my new books which already had 200+ hits. Unless you plan to lend a physical book to 200+ people, you will not do that same amount of damage as piracy.

"CUT!! Good job everyone, that's a wrap for today." The Author closed her notes for episode 13 of The Amazing Digital Raceway TV series.

As the set crew turned on the overhead lights to start cleaning, Seth tossed his newly lit cigarette and coughed. "Ugh...how much longer am I going to have to pretend to like these things?"

Pomni unzipped her tracksuit to the waist, took off the top half and tied the sleeves around her waist. The tracksuits were hot under the stage lights, so she was much more comfortable in her black tank top underneath. "You know you don't actually have to smoke those, right? They'll edit it in post."

"I'm a method actor. I can't work with this unless it's actually lit."

"...then don't inhale. Really, this is a you problem."

"meh, meh, meh. Shut up." He grabbed her jester hat and shoved it down over her eyes.

"Reeeeal professional." Caine walked up, still covered in electrical burn makeup. "You staying in character or something?" He handed a bottle of water to Pomni.

"Like I said, method." Seth dug around in his pockets for items to give back to the prop department. As he searched, a phone rang in his pants pocket.

Pomni gaped. "You had a cellphone on you the whole time!? AND IT WAS ON!? You could have ruined the scene!"

Seth took out his modern flip phone, ignoring Pomni, and answered it with a smile. "Hey, baby. Yeah, just finished up." He started walking away, paying no mind to Pomni or Caine. "Have you heard back from the Author about your audition? Yeah, I told her if she needed me to have a love interest, I would prefer it be you."

Pomni rolled her eyes. "I can't believe that's guy's your brother."

Caine raised an eyebrow. "He's not."

"But he looks just like you."

"I know, but we never knew each other before the casting call. Wild coincidence." Caine finished his water. "I was wondering...after we finish up here, would you like to join me for drinks? I know this really nice pub."

Pomni smirked. "Now who's method acting?"

Caine chuckled, blushing under his makeup. "Nah...no acting. Just, I think... I don't know...I've felt some chemistry here. I'd be very interested in getting to know you outside of work."

Pomni smiled sincerely. "I'd like that."

Gummigoo grunted as the makeup assistant took out the bright blue contacts that covered his whole eye. "These bloody things are awful." There was some relief with the eye wash, but not as much as he'd like.

"Sorry you have to deal with that." Abel said as he glanced over the script draft for the next episode. "But it looks like you're going to be wearing them for a while. Uh, good news, you're getting a costume change at least. Says here you wear a black tracksuit. Don't know why the Author waited an entire episode for the wardrobe change. Seems like an afterthought. I would've changed the moment I reincarnated."

Gummigoo shrugged. "Maybe the Author is taking details like that slower. I mean, think about it. You've supposedly been stuck in the walls for 15 or so years and you jump into the mainframe head first. Did you expect to know how to do things from the inside right away? Your character has never done that before. He doesn't know how to be 'god'."

"eh....I guess you're right." Abel tucked the script under his arm and saw Ragatha walking by with Jax. "Oh hey, you two alright? That was some intense stunt work today."

"I'm fine, dear. Don't you worry. Jax, however is-" Ragatha was cut off by Jax hurling into the barf bag. "...not doing so good."

Jax groaned, "The world is spinning in the wrong direction."

"And you said you could do your own stunts." Ragatha patted Jax on the back. "I'm taking you to the on-site medic for some help. You need to sit down. See you later Abel, Gummigoo." She waved to her co-stars and escorted Jax away.

"Crikey, I'd hate to be him right now." Gummigoo shook his head.

Loo pouted, "No...I didn't even have a line this episode. I feel like I've been on the story less and less. My character feels so...useless."

Kinger sat next to her. "We don't know what's coming next. I'm sure the Author will figure something out. She's one of the most passionate directors I've ever worked with, and I've been doing this for a long time."

Loo sniffed and wiped her face. "I think she should just kill off my character and let me go home. I'm not needed here."

"Hey," Kinger said gently, taking her hand. "Yes, you are. Every character is important, even the background ones. They flesh out the story and give the audience different perspectives on character struggles throughout the plot."

"What about Bubble? They left after episode 12, and I haven't seen them-"

"Bubble's on hiatus. They had to be written out for a bit. Nothing to do with how useful they are. Don't compare your performance to the others. The sooner you stop doing that, the better off you'll be in this industry."

Gangle almost threw her phone. She couldn't believe it. Years of training and child acting and this backwater TV show was all she had for work. She could do SO much better than this. She DESERVED better than this.

A smooth male voice came though. "I read the script. The answer's yes."

I believe it started of as a one-sided relationship on fords part (wow shocker) but it wasn't really love because he's ace it was more of infatuation (this stems from the fact he is a science boy and like ooo demon triangle thing) mistaken for love (I'm pretty sure this is common among aroace people or I just had an original experience) and maybe bill had just a little bit of the same feeling but instead of infatuation it was just pure obsession and when they had there little “tragic break up” and bill finally came to realize his obsession and it consumed him (idk i think that how abusive obsession is) and he realized he can’t live with out ford (i man he can but unhealthy obsession) and thus bills one sided relationship with ford where he just tries to get his puppet back but can’t figure out why he needs him so bad so he comes to the (subconscious) cuncultion there in love (because of course that’s the reasonable decision) and then you all know what comes after

Can I get some tiefling fanfic that doesn't talk about their "sensitive horns" or how they "purr"?

The horns thing moreso. It takes me right out of it every time. Which sucks because there are so many awesome fics out there, that wind up doing this thing, and then my brain kind of checks out.

As a fanfic writer, myself, I get that fics are usually written primarily for the writer, and I totally appreciate that fact. And as such, I'd honestly just write it, myself (like I did for the lack of Dwight Fairfield {Dead by Daylight} stuff) instead of asking the community at large, but I'm so burnt out I haven't been able to work on anything on my current list, and I've been living off of the incredibly talented people writing for Rolan and Zevlor in particular. Seriously, you are all so wonderful and your work has been a bright spot for me right now during a majorly difficult time I've been going through ❤️

Although I read someone on a different site say that tiefling horns could be viewed like goat horns because devils and goats are so often associated with each other, their horns seem to be a lot more like ram horns. This is an important distinction because goat horns have important nerves inside of the horn, whereas rams don't.

If a goat breaks a horn, not only is it incredibly painful, but they can bleed out and die. Rams, not so much.

Tieflings are shown to not only have broken horns (i.e. Karlach) in both D&D and BG3, but filing the horns down is also an option tieflings can take... Which means that there aren't nerves inside of the horn. If there were, at best, something like that would be unimaginably painful. At worst, they could die from it. And considering tiefling children can straight up break off a horn and grow it back, it's even more highly unlikely that that's the case.

If there aren't nerves in the horn, they can't feel it if you stroke the horn, or graze it with your fingers, etc.

I know we all wanna write steamy sex scenes and such—and, again, because tone is so often lost in text, I don't mean this as something mean or eye-rolly—but not everything needs to be an erogenous zone. Besides, horns can still be grabbed and used as handlebars! That's super sexy!!!

As for the purring, or other Infernal traits that get written similarly, like I said, that's way less a thing for me. But they're not Tabaxi and were originally made from humans whose blood and bodies were altered by making deals with Asmodeus. It's why tieflings can only be born of two tieflings, a human and a tiefling, or two humans with infernal blood.

Again, if you're into this, or write this, I'm not trying to tell you to stop lmao. It's just that this is everywhere and I'd like some variety that takes these things into account 😅

JSYK the OP of the Crab Day post is a self-identified conservative Christian. Can't speak to anything she may have done or said, but I do know that Crab Day wouldn't actually fix Tumblr - the site is running a 30mil *deficit,* which is different from debt. All Crab Day would do would be telling staff that their current policies get users to send them more money, which doesn't actually change anything. Corporations change only when their business strategy is losing the shareholders money.

We know that Tumblr badly needs money, because they have told us that and openly admitted that the unpopular new changes were spurred by a need for increasing revenue. I logged on just now on desktop and got a suggestion that I could purchase an ad-free browsing subscription to help support the hellsite (which is the word they used, because they have very much embraced the joke). I have in fact already bought an ad-free subscription, both because I like the product Tumblr provides and want to keep using it in its current form, and because it makes my mobile experience immeasurably nicer. I am well aware that especially in this era of social media sites dropping like flies, the continued existence of a platform that is 30-million-dollars underwater (however you want to split hairs about exactly how) is not a guarantee. And we all complain about Tumblr, but we have all been here a long time (me, uh, over 10 years), we have a solid community, there's no other alternative that's really ever come up or gotten the same kind of uptake, and if it went under, we would be uh, screwed.

Tumblr is kind of a mess, it's the antithesis of every social media site, and it doesn't (for now) have the crap that makes The Artist Formerly Known As Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram so utterly unusable, or if it does, you can (mostly) turn it off. That's why we all like it and why, even if we are resolutely anti-capitalist gremlins who resist being marketed to with every fiber of our being, it doesn't change the fact that servers, staff, and all the rest cost real human-people money which the site, by their own frank admission, is struggling to raise. Even if staff does often make crappy updates, they generally at least TRY to listen to us and include a feature to make it optional or roll it back, unlike certain unnamed idiot billionaires. Their mockery of other social media sites can sometimes be a little much, but for now, Tumblr is pretty much the last place on the internet that does what it does, and I like it that way. If it went under and took my blog of 10+ years and all my friends with it, I would be incredibly sad.

That being the case, and basic financial realities being what they are, encouraging people to toss a few bucks at a TOTALLY OPTIONAL and fun gimmick that increases functionality for a product we like is actually not a bad thing. TumblrMart has crabs, checkmarks, Ea-Nasir merchandise (seriously), ad-free browsing, etc., and if our choice is voluntarily supporting the site through fun (and again, OPTIONAL) purchases versus having us all be involuntarily subject to some horrible data-scraping mechanism or forced off altogether because they couldn't keep the lights on, that is fine with me. Nobody is making anybody do or buy anything. But if you like the product Tumblr provides and want a fun material way to show your appreciation, then I don't think it's some Great Transgression to participate in that.

Btw here's some dope ass images and assets from the Fulla website

The polished and fancy heart swirl borders are from the reboot era version of the site. Anything with the wide heart and pastel pink/purple is from the reboot era. Before then the aesthetic was much more vibrant and more focused on a butterfly and flower motif. During the older era she used more hot pink and magenta, as well.

Still really want to know who the artist for Fulla is, maybe I could look for the rest of their possible work for the brand that way.

These are all that's left of the website since the website is mostly inaccessible through the internet archive, and almost every image asset is hard to find. The more modern website versions are extremely broken, and the most clear archive of it from the wiki is from 2006, and from the US version. The 2006 US version does have a lot of important things in it, however. It has a catalog from that time frame, one or two of the music videos, and an English translation of her theme song (which means we now have two confirmed translations, Indonesian and English)

Fun fact about the mission statement: in Arabic it actually translates to "Every Arab Girl's Dream" which may be a little off bc I used Google translate but it seems simple enough that It shouldn't be too far off.

The website was advertised to have games from around 2010-11 and are labeled as "funs" on the website according to the site map URLs. None of these "funs" links lead to anything at all, as it says the website wasn't archived. I'm actually not sure whether there were actually flash games or some other type of interactive thing, but the controllers that pop up during the ad for the site leads me to believe they had at least something.

It is confirmed that they had coloring pages, though. Once again, according to the URLs that are not archived and do not function.

This all really frustrates me because the ad never showed what the website even looked like, and the only other place that possibly (like super possibly, I don't even know if it is of the website) could have a screenshot, the fulla house playset, changed the computer sticker graphic before release, along with a lot of the other stickers being turned into random product photos instead of cute detailed artwork (which is a decision I actually despise like omg)

The only things we have are what are saved in the internet archive's dumps of archived images. Any other file doesn't really work at all.

As of now, the fulla website, no matter what time frame you pick up until 2021, had a flash loading screen that you can't get past using normal means.

I am actually so mad that I can't find anything about this. Any other major doll website is completely able to be accessed, even the winx club one which has a similar issue with the loading screen. From past experiences before the winx site's arcive apparently just stopped doing it, the loading screen would lead to a pop-up window of something else which I forgot the contents of. So that may be the issue here, but I wouldn't know what's causing it or how to fix it.

All I want is a SINGLE SCREENSHOT OR RECORDING and i will die happy...😭

Because I'm a poor little high school child I sadly do not have the means to purchase a VPN. Maybe I could just do a free trial and cancel it after I've got what I needed, but there's not even a guarantee there will even be more if I look with a VPN.
