Honestly the referral program and revelation about how bribery is allowed is the nail in the coffin for me. Even if they fix this rule later, the fact they allow it Now shows how I’ve slowly lost interest since the AI debacle, but honestly everything about Santae’s community and ethics has turned me off. The discord is extremely cliquey as people have mentioned, and I’m not even a new player. I’ve been around for a bit, and yet I feel ignored and unwelcome in the server because all my shit gets ignored. The gameplay isn’t even that fun. There’s no tutorial, I missed out on events that introduced new mechanics, and now I’m lost (Yes I know I can ask for help, point is that the game should provide it already). It shouldn’t be so difficult to get so many pets too. Why are so many locked behind paywalls?

I know I’m preaching to the choir but as someone who spent irl money supporting this in the beginning, I’m frustrated. I know this game is in Beta, but if you’re baking a cake with bad eggs, idk how good that cake will turn out.

Zero hate to the person with health struggles, I never brought it up here because I didn't want to be a dick, but... I'm completely avoiding the discord at this point because of how often it's brought up. I lost my partner to that disease less than a year ago and being reminded of that every time I open the Discord for the game I love is just... ooof.

I know that's not their fault at all and I truly hope they recover. But it's too much for me to see when I'm just trying to find some escapism in a game.

maybe im just dumb but ive never seen a pet site with such aggressive monetization as santae??? every few days it feels like new cash shit comes out, and its not just cosmetics or little things, basically every site collection has cash shop stuff shoved into it regularly.. its exhausting and i legit find myself getting burnt out. the figurines alone for the toy collection is a lot, but no there are also stamps and books and even food???? im sure theyll add special cash plants too if they havent already, i cant remember. and there's no way to get most of this stuff in actual gameplay. the clothes i understand tbh, but everything else at the FREQUENCY the cash shop updates feels.. greedy. ya ya i know that "everything will be available in regular gameplay hehe nothing retires!!!!!!" but when something is released in the cash shop or patreon literally ONE YEAR OR MORE in advance (ive seen staff say phasmics for example arent slated until 2026??????), for me at least, it breeds fomo like crazy. who knows if the site will even be around in 2026, who knows if ill have interest u kno??? like.. i want all the stuff now. its probably a me issue but man... i cant keep up. i just scrounged for the cake and stamp from the gingerbread set and then 2 DAYS LATERRRRR there's a bunch more books and stamps in the shop... omg. i know nobody HAS to complete collections, but its fun to do, and constant cash stuff added to every nook and cranny (food, books, stamps, toys that arent figurines etc) just dampens the fun i guess. im not asking everything be given to me for free, but there must be a balance to these things, right?

the only non cash shop clothing set i can remember in the months ive played has been the pastel pink big cat one from winterlight. there have been art revamps to non cash sets but thats about it? i could be wrong.. i cant remember. but the ratio of cash clothes to non cash clothes is staggering. ugh. i think im just being an asshole but i also rolled my eyes at the addition of netherflame and regal figurines. like we need more incentive to spend money here.........

also the discord sucks, is cliquey as shit and fosters this annoying ass kissing culture where any genuine complaint is met with scorn or talking over the person with meaningless praise until they give up. the staff ignoring complaints or going "uwu santae is amazing tho" dont help at all. sorry this is so long, its been weeks of salt.

I. Fucking. Hate. The Discord. Every time any conversation starts around how unbalanced features are and people offer suggestions about it, Mori or Bas jump in and dump something site related that drags the asslickers out of the dirt who immediately overpower the conversation and shift it back to 'OMG I LOVEEEE SANTAEE!!!'. Or Ember or CJ hop on, drop a code or a preview or gift cannon people, and it all stops. There isn't any legit interaction from staff with people who have critique of the site. It's all shoved under the rug. Same shit happens on the suggestions forum too. One staff reply and they're done. Wtaf.

Insects and dentists aren't inherently triggering to most people on a day-to-day basis. Sure, people may not LIKE bugs or dentists, but it doesn't mean it needs to go in triggering topics. This seems like a case of "manage your own triggers" rather than needing everyone else to change for you in a public setting of over 100 people.

I invited a buddy to the game. I did tell them the discord was 'catty as fuck for no reason' and within a few minutes of their post in the pet share section someone attempted to 'beat' their pet. Someone posted about how they spent x money on a pet that's so much better than my friend's own pet. LIKE IT IS A CONTEST? I get your pet is great but to a random other person online? Was this a misguided attempt at a flex? we may never know, I don't really care but I didn't expect this shit to happen so soon!
