Here's my piece for @creatingblackcharacters' Black History Month Challenge! She's one of my sci-fi story's main OCs, Zola! (That's why she's Afro-Polaran, Polara 5 is her home planet) I had a ton of fun working on this, and I really learned a lot! But, of course, let me know if there's anything I can improve on with how I depicted her.

Ice's question: What do you want to tell your Black viewers, through this character or the effort you put into her?
A: Thank you for asking! I’ve seen this come up repeatedly in my readings on Black women: the general stigma and disapproval around Black girls and women being feminine or girly, especially in a ‘loud’ way— without being sexualized. With Zola I really wanted to show that she loves who she is; fashionable, pink and cute things and all, while still enjoying her Blackness as well, which I tried to show with her hair and her accessories. I would love it if she inspires women (or anyone Black!) to express themselves the way that feels good, whether it’s girly or not.

I challenged myself to listen to only Black artists while working on this piece, and to read poems by Black women and find ones I think fit Zola. It's been good to broaden my music horizons. My 'Black Artists' playlist is still growing. Things I learned:
1) Don't blindly color-pick for skin tone, especially dark ones. The ones I got were suuper washed-out. I changed her skin colors maybe 4 or 5 times just to get it right =.=; I'm still learning, so I hope I didn't overcorrect and over-saturate her. I went back and re-read lessons 3 and 4 and that helped me figure out what shade I actually wanted for her. If I were to draw her again, I would change the lighting to something better, too. 2) Black hairstyles are FUN to draw! I've only drawn a few specific ones from reference so far but they really force me to think about the shape and texture of the hair, how light bounces off it, etc. I also like doing curvy lines, detail, and drawing hair in general, so it was a treat. I learned a lot from the lessons on Black hair types and styles, as soon as I learned about twists and looked at the different styles for them I knew it would be Zola's favorite. I need to draw her in a twist-out, next!
3) For writing them, reading Ice's lessons helped a lot too! She's still not had much time yet in the story (she gets introduced later) but it helped me develop what kind of character I actually want her to be. She got more of a sensitive side rather than a generic 'strong woman'TM. She's still very confident and self-assured, but I've planned moments in the story where she doesn't have to be and gets to be emotionally vulnerable. She's also got a larger role in the story that involves her backstory and her family, and not just helping the other members of the 'party'. Hope to flesh her out a lot more as I continue writing!
Misc: Her 'face claim' is technically Mirakela Love, but between making her fatter than the model and my cartoony style I don't think it ended up looking much like her. Still helped to have reference, though. The color scheme for her outfit is meant to evoke the Lesbian flag. She gay and proud. Zola's meant to be both girly and fashionable, but I'm not a super fashionable person, so I just did my best and combined some outfits I liked. Then I added Jinx-style boots for funsies. Do hoops go with the rest of it? I don't know!

With the amazing new feature you've announced on ks and having more options for opal's skin tone, is there any possibility of her getting coily-textured hair? The current curly hair is lovely but still pretty loose, and there's definitely a lack of textured hairstyles for the doll as well. I know the game is still in development and more stuff will be added but I wanted to ask! Thank you, I hope you can feel our support and love for the games from the kickstarter 💕
Yes! There are going to be more Opal hairstyle options later in development and having a coily-textured is a part of that. And there's a lot more MC doll options coming too. I don't know when I'll be able to give previews of them, but at some point between now and 2025 we're gonna have it done.

And here we are again… RE9 theory
It's time for another theory! I'll be writing these right up until the release of RE9, so apologies if you're tired of speculation. I had a theory about this Wesker concept once before, but it came out too vague + I tied the concept to RE4R, but it never made it into the game. So here's a new theory that has captured my brain.
What if, this concept never belonged to re4r? What if it showed up in early development of re9? Let me explain.

Imagine that Wesker is alive in re9. You can imagine the importance of keeping such a news secret, because it is quite a shocking information for fans. If this is the main intrigue in re9, the game would lose it if information about Wesker leaked to the public. If you were the designers and developers, you wouldn't let such news get out of the organization any way. So, put yourself in the shoes of a Capcom employee? Let's move on.
Suddenly such an important detail is leaked by Wesker's voice actor and your intrigue risks becoming public, the game will lose half of its interest without keeping Wesker a secret. You, as a developer\designer need to solve something, somehow fix the situation so that no one will know about the return of this character in the new game.
Then you make a GENIAL decision, setting your sights on re4r, which is in the middle of development. You decide to add this Wesker design to re4r to ward off all suspicion and get out of the disadvantage. Well done, you succeeded in fooling the fandom, now everyone is convinced that this concept was originally made for re4r.
It would seem that everything is fine, no one will know the truth until the re9 release happens, but… Wesker's concept never showed up in re4r. That image is not inside the game or in the concept book. We, the players, are left to assume that this concept was trivially not intended for re4r.
To confirm this theory, I'll ask you to pay attention to a few details - the face (1), the hair (2) and the hand (3). 1. The face, to be honest, could be anything on these concepts, because they are made sometimes before the studio finds the right actor to give the appearance to the character. But I'm left wondering if his face here is taken from re5 and yet looks much older. If this was for re4r, wouldn't Wesker look younger? 2. His hairstyle deviates a lot from the usual style that every game has. Capcom couldn't change Wesker's hairstyle for the REMAKE of the game, because it's an important part of it. Changing his hairstyle is tantamount to removing his sunglasses. But that kind of hair is acceptable for a new game. I assume this is how his new style was planned for the future in which he is alive (?). If you've ever seen the "early" versions of re4r, you probably know that in them Wesker has that exact weird hairstyle, which Leon also has in the "hero" skin. I believe that when Capcom added the "hero" hairstyle to Wesker, they were trying to make him look even more like the concept to minimize information leaks among the staff.

3. In none of the games did Wesker suffer an arm injury. In Code Veronica, his hand was set on fire, but the wound is not serious and Wesker is able to heal his wounds in SECONDS. It doesn't make sense to emphasize his wound for a Code Veronica concept. It also doesn't make sense to do a wound for re4r, because in the original Wesker never left his chair at all, and in the remake he didn't get into any serious fights. This wound is something new that hasn't happened yet, but one day will. In all the games, Wesker heals any injuries quickly, but at the end of re5 he took too much damage, so he probably lost some of his strength, causing him to keep his wounds for a long time.
That's the kind of thoughts that visit me when I see this image but don't see it inside re4r. If it's a "discarded" concept, it too should appear officially, like Ada's concept for re8 that was never added to the game.

About France's hairstyles
From the very beginning, when Francis was still a chibi, his maman Gallia (i like to imagine that she was indeed his mother or at least a caretaker) cut his hair in the most fashionable way of that period - bangs and something similar to a bob.
And somehow it stuck with him throughout childhood...

Francis had a little practise of being a personal hairdresser for Arthur, however couldn't do the same for himself. And without help from adults it was impossible to take care of his own hair. He didn't know what to do with frizzy mishaps on the head. So, during the late Middle Ages, already far in his "teenage" years, France stopped trying and began to grow his hair out.......

(I do think that everything that's connected with "human growth" of a nation depends on their actual country wise growth, but overall some aspects like hair still grow way slower than that of an actual human).
In short, in the 18th century, he didn't need to wear a fashion appropriate wig. Cause he had lots of hair. Looooots. Don't ask me how Francis did those curls,... Barocco dyson.
All of Europe was jealous.
By the way, I don't know why such crossover hasn't happened in the fandom yet (or I didn't come across it), but Lestat from "Interview with the Vampire" is like the lost twin of Francis. I had to say it, odd similarities are apparent (´⁠・⁠_⁠・⁠)

because he went a bit mental.
Or maybe it's the trends of 13-year-old girls, as they say... an impulsive action... well, in general it was a sign of liberation from ancien régime, a fresh start, transitional moment, and blah blah blah... like the heads of aristocrats were chopped, so is the hair here... didn't go bald and at least we can thank him for that.
The """"short"""" style (like again, sort of a layered bob) has been firmly set since then.
In the 1950s there was a boom in perms, and it didn't pass Francis by. So for a while he rocked a pin-up hairstyle (I know on the actual sketch it's more of Old Hollywood hairdo, but I didn't specifically create anything for this post, I just pinned some related sketches).

Moreover, around the 60s, hair dyes were developed........... I think there is no need to explain further what happened...... At least that's my logical reasoning for Francis's ever-changing hair colour in anime and manga from blond to dark blond to brown to other options that l'oreal paris provides.

I’ve been apart of the Choice/Hosted games community for years and I just want to say that your story is in my top 3!
I was literally just saying to myself that I would like an IF that really had characters that had a full life outside your character that interacts with you naturally and isn’t so heavy on the constant stats check, and I got my prays answered and MORE.
First time I played, easily I knew I was going after Hades. I played 3 other times and went after Pyri Charon and Hermes (I will be playing it again for the more Olympus type choices). But TRUST it was hard cause your girl kept wanting to go back to Hades XD.
You’re a wonderful writer and I am invested and patiently waiting for the sequel! May I ask for a few suggestions?
- Character tracking: I love that it’s not stats heavy but I think it would be great for the MC to have journal of some sort in the stats page to keep track of characters and how the MC feels about them as certain events take place. There were a lot of characters to keep track of and it was hard to remember the ones I needed to remember.
- MC Traits: I love how you kept the traits simple *chef’s kiss* but during my play throughs, I definitely tried to be extremely different and subtly different. It didn’t feel like there was a distinct diversity of negative or positive consequences for your flaws. Sometimes it felt like there were and other times I wasn’t sure if I triggered one or not. (I was playing with tone indicators off so maybe that’s why I didn’t really see a difference.) Ya girl just wants a super clumsily MC that everyone wants go catch or be annoyed with cause she’s so clumsily ahaha! Which leads me to my last suggestion~
- Character development: PACING *triple chef’s kiss* its the main reason I kept running back for more ahahaha! (Hades just fully accept me as your wife already T^T) My suggestion for this is that it did feel like the Underworld Pals were too nice. I loved that they are but I would definitely like to see them have flaws that make it reasonable for your MC to dislike them. I legitimately was having a hard time being mean to them because none of them felt like they deserved it.
Thank you so much for giving us such a wonderful experience with this story. There is so much to love and I’m excited to see it expand. Also there are probably others but for the most part you are the only author that actually took the time to add the knowledge of protective hairstyles in your book. You are truly heaven sent. Thank you, now Imma go back and be mean to the my man Hades TT-TT cause I gotta see all versions of this amazing book!

I'll take the suggestions under advisement, but fair warning: I'm probably not going to be doing anything to make the characters less 'nice.' They all do have flaws, and perhaps some of those will be getting a little more airtime in the sequel, so to speak, but I have no interest in changing their core personalities. I consider the fact that they are generally kind and understanding to be a feature of the work rather than a bug, so to speak.
It's not everyone's cup of tea, and I understand that, but I wanted to write a story about fundamentally kind people, and that's what I did.
Adding more opportunities for traits and flaws to be relevant is definitely on my list for the next game, and the character codex/journal/tracker is a suggestion I've gotten before and would like to implement in an update. I appreciate the suggestions!

This will be a bit of a rant.
Although subsequent patches and the expansion have significantly improved the playability and fun of the game, with each new patch from CDPR I am convinced that when it comes to the character of Goro Takemura, they decided to ignore him completely and reject him.
This character evokes rather negative associations in a lot of people which I understand, although I don't entirely agree. The fact is that Takemura is one of the main characters in this game - he accompanies us for quite a long time (the entire act 2?) and even one of the endings is affected by the choices you make with him. We spend more time with Goro than we spend with Jackie and maybe even Kerry and River.
In Phantom Liberty and with each subsequent improvement of the game, nothing significant related to Takemura was added. You may even have noticed, at some point the character's clothes and hairstyle were changed - the characteristic hairline (widows peak) magically disappeared. It seems almost like negligence. He is after all one of the main characters. You cannot proceed in the game without interactions with his character.
And we already know that one scene from the moment when Takemura is being patched up by Vik is missing. Why did they remove it? (It's the part when V can see Takemura being patched up by Vik, Takemura is on the netrunner chair and a big stain of blood is visible on his clothes).
Takemura is a brilliantly written character, can be interpreted in many different ways, is multi-dimensional, is a contrast to Johnny (although they have a lot in common) and I can't understand why CDPR decided to abandon the development of his character.
I'm not even mentioning the fact that Goro was supposed to be a romance option for female V, which was never completed. Instead it was ‘worth’ every penny and effort to make Meredith Stout a romanceable character albeit not meaningful. Which is yet again to appeal to male gamers. By the way, it seems that 3 out of four romances (+Meredith) are catered for male audience. River romance is just poorly done...
I'm even more surprised that they didn't even find a way to show how Takemura fights without his implants active. A small patch could add fights with the assassins sent by Yorinobu - so they don't happen only on the highway. I was hoping they would add at least this, some side mission, messages or anything. I know I'm not the only one who thinks this is a big letdown. Goro Takemura didn't even get to be on the cover of the Ultimate Edition (V and Johnny, Reed as Militech route, and Goro as Arasaka).
Invite your love interest to your apartment? Why not invite Takemura (even without the romance thing) for ramen?

It's just tons of variables and condition switches within condition switches, this is most of them for the customiser! :3

This is the hair colour button. It's action is to increase the "haircolour2" variables number! there are 30 different hair colours. I don't want the button's action to let the variable go past 30 so that's why there's the If statement, which sets the variable back to 1 and then it can go back up to 30 again. ("If(haircolour2 > 29")
the "at customiserbutton" is a transform so I don't have to make a hover/idle image and it's 29392394X cooler than having an image change on hover, there's a very simple guide on doing a transform at the bottom of this ask :3

This is one of the condition switches for a hairstyle, you can display something different for each variable. This condition switch changes the secondary colour for the first straight and short hairstyle. The hair is is uncoloured/greyscale. The image is the same but theres a transform applied to each variable number (" matrixcolor=TintMatrix("#212121")) ") This changes the grey uncoloured hair to like black! The #numbers are a hex/html colour code and you can goog "html colour picker" and goog will give you one. :3

This is a composite. It's like layers in an art program, the first is the bottom and the last is the top layer. For the hair there's three layers, the bottom colour, the second colour, and the line art! The first set of numbers is the size of the image/canvas. The other sets of numbers next to each layer determines the placement of the layer. I've got it set to (0, 0) the first number moves it left/right and the second is up/down, I wanted it to be exactly where I saved it in my art program so I've not increased/decreased the numbers.

that composite then went into a condition switch for each hairlength (hairstyle)! Theres one of these for each hair texture too, then a whole set for the hair on the back of the head, and another set for a few that needed middle layers (parts of the hair behind the head and infront of the body.
Then each of these hairlength condition switches went into another

and finally these hairtex condition switches went to the the displayed image/character/composite!

I fucked up the placement of the eyebrows and the entire character, so that's why the placement for each layer is -15, and the eyebows are 1! Didn't have open everything in my art program and move it! :3
The amount of switches and variables for this was insane and actually managed to lag the game. So I don't know if I can say I'd recomend my stupid way of doing a customiser until I can figure out how to let Renpy/OLiE have some more crumbs of ram to preload the hundreds of images for the customiser Sdkfskdfjl
Have a tip! Add this to the end of every single condition switch!

Make it an image that's easy to recognise mines the players thoughts icon. It will display when your variable is set to something your condition switch doesn't have a displayable for (for example if my hair colour variable somehow went over 30) instead of just crashing your game and giving a confusing error code or none at all.
Another is if your game is crashing when you make the condition switch/composite, make sure you've put a capital C and S, ConditionSwitch and Composite, I've made tons of these and still forget a " , " and capitalisation all the time.
Don't get discouraged because your game keeps thowing out errors/crashes that's just how it be, take a few deep breaths and have a break before looking over your code again! :3

Rules
This dynamic is in place for the betterment of piglet's day to day life above all other reasons. She will treat Sir's investment in her with due respect and gratitude at all times and will do her utmost to develop herself for the better at every opportunity.
Being Sir's s means piglet is his property. Any significant change to her appearance that isn't for positive health reasons, must be approved by him.
Piglet is to be vegetarian when eating alone and must aim to eat healthily (i.e. not starving herself and not having unnecessary highly calorific foods) day to day. A picture of all meals and snacks will be sent to Sir so he can monitor this. Piglet must eat 3 separate times per day.
Sir must approve non-essential/luxury purchases wherever possible.
Piglet will no longer swear in Sir's presence as it is not ladylike. The only exceptions are when in physical pain, discussing nsfw matters or relaying what someone else said.
Piglet will always say thank you when she is hit, no matter where or why.
Piglet will, unless sick, masturbate whilst peeing then suck her fingers clean afterwards.
Daily Tasks
Piglet will work out everyday and approve gym time with Daddy
Piglet will send Daddy clothing, hairstyle and menu options for him to pick daily. Daddy will pick outside of the provided options at his leisure.

I will be drawing more Y/N x DCA things the more I develop my FNAF:SB au.
That said, if you would like to see yourself represented as a y/n in any drawing I do, send in references or descriptions and I will be sure to draw my Y/N like that at some point!
It can be literally anything that makes you feel more represented and included!
Examples being simply adding a certain hairstyle to the “default” bald, grey, “average” Y/N. Or having a different body type. But you can also go for more detailed changes, like a certain furry species or physical disabilities like being an amputee or needing certain aides.
I want everyone to see themselves in my art and have a piece of themself in this universe. I never want to draw my Y/N the same so having ideas will help!

Hello. Thank you for all your feedback on the hairstyle that will be implemented in Patch 7.1. We would like to apologize for the major confusion we have caused. For this patch, we started work to implement "Natural Curls" from the winning entries of the Hairstyle Design Contest, based on the idea of adding not only straight hair but also a variety of other hairstyles. However, as the development work progressed, the light, delicate, and voluminous curls required for Natural Curls could not be implemented perfectly, despite implementation of the recent graphical update in FFXIV, due to limitations such as the polygon count. Therefore, the finished result is a hairstyle that has not been implemented as Natural Curls, but as a wavy bob hairstyle, which is called "Doing the Wave" in-game. However, since we did use the winning entry as a reference in the development process, we included a statement to that effect in the patch notes. We are deeply sorry that this has resulted in a great deal of confusion and concern. Although we were not able to make it happen this time, the development team will continue to strive to implement many more hairstyles in the future. As for Natural Curls, which was not implemented in Patch 7.1, we will persevere in our efforts to look for other ways to implement this hairstyle. We appreciate your feedback and hope you continue to enjoy FFXIV!

I have watched a review video by RachelPedd, talking about Zoi character creation. Here are my personal highlights: pros
Sims 4-like sliders, just pull the region you want to change
color wheels for clothes and makeup!
different recolorable areas, glossiness slider on certain types of makeup
opacity slider for makeup
sliders for iris and pupil size, color and brightness for eye, separately recolorable outer rim of iris
clothes can be layered (jacket over a dress, or a shirt...)
clothes can be individually changed (change collars, style of sleeves, hem length on a shirt, etc)
character are trait-based, but with general traits likeopenness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism, which I think is excellent! You can pick one trait from each of these categories. These traits unlock at different life stages, some earlier, some only when becoming a young adult, which is interesting.
male/female ZOI's seem to have a height difference
a lot of clothes are for both for male and female bodies
in addition to regular animation, you can enable different fixed poses in character creation
cons:
you can only create adult ZOIs in character creation, life stages younger than young adult are only accessible through gameplay
there is a pattern system, but only AI-based (AI images are very hit-and-miss)
limited hairstyles, especially textured/curly hair is lacking at this point
No color wheel for skintones
limited body weight sliders, face and neck stay too slim
But this game is still in development and will change a lot, and Krafton has said they are very much looking for feedback to improve what they have! So I just went and added something to their wishlist.

Magnolia Blaston
A character in Mystery Case Files: 13th Skull and Mystery Case Files: Black Crown. The daughter of the Dennis and Alice Blaston.
In my AU, Magnolia was sent to a different (and better) mental facilities, requested and recommended by Madelyn Doyle (Master Detective), after the events of Black Crown in hopes to provide the proper help she needed. She is currently in recovery and is currently being homeschool by a teacher in the facilities.
Magnolia has been experiencing insomnia, due to the nightmares involving her parents and Phineas, sometimes gets loss in thought. She gets weekly therapy visits for her mental health.
I like to imagine she developed a timid and introverted personality due to not having any proper human interactions since she was a child due to always moving to different areas because of her parents schemes and not having been able to stay in school much. Added the fact, she was dealing with the grief of losing her parents and being possessed by a pirate ghost, she sort of became distrustful towards people. She was able to have some friends in the facility as she gotten used to living there.
Her relationship with Madelyn (Master Detective) is a bit rocky. Though she is thankful of the Madelyn for saving her from Phineas, she still harbors resentments towards Madelyn due to what happened to her parents. This is mostly due to not being able to process her grief of her parent’s death. Her relationship with her parents is a bit difficult for me to identify. She genuinely love her parents and her parents also genuinely care and love her but of course their selfish actions and schemes have negatively impacted Magnolia’s life

The reason Magnolia has shorter hairstyle was actually based on the grown-up actor who played the child Magnolia in the 13th Skull game. Also I like to think her cutting her hair as a way to show she is recovering from her past. Her outfit is mostly consist something safe and comfortable to wear for her during her stay in the facility.

Forgot to type up the red team face hc's thought process, but I'm back from Quebec now, so...
Sarge was — fittingly — the biggest enigma. His design came to me almost instantly, and he went through basically zero changes. Somehow I realized there wasn't really anything for me to add except for maybe a few extra scars as time went on. The first design felt accurate right off the bat.
Somehow I just knew the first design I drew up for him was also the only design necessary. dude just looks like that.
I had a bit of a harder time figuring out what to do for Grif, but I had a few designs I had in mind and used them all the same way I did for Tucker.
Shorter hair in BGC like everyone else, except I gave him some stubble too because Grif would 100% rarely ever bother to shave.
Obviously added the stitches where Sarge used bits of Simmons to stitch Grif back together.
Hair grown out by the time the Recollection trilogy starts up, casually tied up in a messy bun because Grif definitely wouldn't put in the effort to cut it.
Finally a full on ponytail and much more facial hair by Chorus by the time he's matured and gained some confidence.
I was admittedly a little conflicted on whether to give Grif a bun for Recollection or Chorus, since putting his hair up might have been visually symbolic of his character development as he starts to put in effort for things/people he cares about. I'm still unsure if I made the right call leaving the bun in Recollection Grif's design and letting his hair grow out in Chorus.
Lopez is just Lopez lmao
Simmons felt somewhat easier since I had a clearer idea of what I wanted him to look like from beginning to end.
Same military-appropriate length haircut in BGC as everyone else.
Freckles because they just fit perfectly on him.
Awkward nerd smile, complete with dimples and long face/nose for maximum nerdy charm (or lack thereof).
Slightly grown out hair but not too much by Recollection, plus he has the cybernetic replacements on his face now. I tried to make the pupil on his cyborg eye more rectangular than his natural eye but I don't think it's very noticeable.
Finally grew out his bangs. I was torn between this haircut and the shorter, nerdier one, so I used them both. Plus he finally grows some facial hair by Chorus as he matures into his own person.
I like the idea that Simmons gradually growing his hair out past what the acceptable length is in the UNSC is a good representation of how he's grown as a person and doesn't adhere to the rules as strictly as he did in BGC. Something about becoming less of a suck-up and gaining confidence in his own choices and leadership.
Thought it would be a neat detail that he eventually gets a scar through the eyebrow that matches the one I gave Sarge.
Please please PLEASE tell me someone noticed where Grif and Simmons are each looking.

I struggled with Donut's design the most since he seems to have the most variation in design. I knew I wanted baby-faced blonde for BGC but coming up with a design that felt right afterwards was rough.
I ended up going through a few sketches for Donut before settling on a face with rounded cheeks and nose for a sort of boyish look.
By Recollection he has the face scars thanks to the plasma grenade. I ended up keeping Donut facing left even though it covered the hearing aid since I didn't want to throw off the balance on the page. (sorry)
I also had to give him an ear piercing. I just had to.
Some hair probably got burned off thanks to the explosion, so I imagine Donut probably gave himself an undercut on the undamaged side to make the hairstyle symmetrical. I don't think Donut had access to any hair dye during Recollection, so chances are his roots started to grow out.
By Chorus I wanted him to fully accept his face scars, so he ditched the eyepatch by then. Self love, baby.
His eyebrow on his scarred side has somewhat grown back by then, but not completely. The same goes for Donut's hair, though I imagine it grew out just enough for Donut to settle on a very stylish slicked back undercut, cuz y'know. 🫳💁‍♂️✨🌈
Donut got most of his character development post-Chorus during The Shisno Trilogy which is... Technically retconned now(?) thanks to Reconstruction coming out this Fall, so the last design for Donut probably would have fit season 15-17 more than Chorus when he really grew into his own. However, I think the design still works for Chorus to show how he matured over time.
ngl I kinda just threw something together for Doc. I couldn't really think of a design for him since there's a LOT of variation online. I'm not entirely happy with it, but it'll do for now unless I come up with something better later.
Maybe I'll draw more rvb characters sometime... Maybe the AI?

I just wanted to say that I'm in love (and a bit jealous haha) with your style. It's so pretty and unique! Your hoods are gorgeous and your sims even more! (may i ask you what technique do you use to make them? Pooklet's? Face templates? A lot of sliders?)
I jumped around a lot between maxis-match, semi realistic, etc. trying to find something i liked (and i still feel i didn't quite found something i like 100%) and I'm in awe of how you made something that doesn't look like ts4 nor ts2 but a so cool and pretty in between!!!
(also a disclaimer because I'm a tiny ball of anxiety: this is no shade to anyone who likes other styles, i find them pretty awesome in other people's games, they just look a bit boring on mine. The sims is about having fun and everyone deserves to play it as they like!)

(disclaimer at the beginning of the post, my keyboard is dying since half a year and i'm putting aside the moment to replace it, but after this post, I think I'm gonna make my mind soon lol. So sorry for any misspeling - you can get double nn, no n, no m, no c, double cc, no c and many other surprises - i tried to fix everything but I could miss something xd).
I've restarted my hood 5 times I think before I got it to my recent version. I'm terrified every time through most of the process, it doesn't come easily to me xD.
Also ofc, everyone can have whatever aesthetics they like - the sims is the perfect series to express that.
With my sims it really depends. I mostly make a sim that I really like and then use it as a base for other sims, but not always. Sometimes I make a sim that I think looks quite unique but it's still missing somethig when it comes to features and makeup face details. During those moments I just open up my body shop sometime later or the next day and try to tweak this sim, sometimes it's more than once. And other times I end up liking the idk 3rd attempt but i still keep going since i want to make more similair sims, and also it's tiring to start the process from the beginning every time xD.

As you can see, all those sims have this maxis chain necklace, which means that I started the process using the same base sim and it just evolved into many differet results lol.
Other times I'm editing some maxis face templates to make them more my style (it's really fun!)

I also made one of my sims face into face template to make the rest of the family. I didn't want their faces to be - mouth: mom; eyes: dad; nose: mom - just a mix of both and adding something extra to make them a little more unique. Kinda pookleted their faces with two face templates.

I just really like this face. It can look either goofy or good xD.
I sometimes get inspired by images of some real life ppl (models, actors). When I'm really out of ideas I'm also dowloading sims made by others and use them as a base - just tweaking their features to be my style, mostly it's about face proportions and replacing the cc they used to the one I have. There is muuuch more examples that I could give but a lot of times it's just a result of tweaking some sims a couple of times xD.
Also due to the fact that i make my sims in body shop, idk how their faces will look whit face expressions. I was always using my sims to create previews for my cc conversions so I'm also testing them that way and if something looks too off - I'm just going back to body shop to fix that.
I think I've developed my style around the clay hair conversions that I've made - I wanted the sims in my previews to go well together with clay hair. I remember that I've picked the hair first, THEN sculpted my sims faces. There just werent that many to choose from at 1st.
I don't really use face templates - I have some, but I don't use them much - i think the proportions on faces of my sims are the closest to the maxis sims 🤔. I like their sharp features so when I'm stuck with making a sim, I'm using the pooklet method with those maxis templates but only a tiiiny bit - like 10-20% and only on those parts of the faces that I want to tweak a little more. After that I'm going back to editing the face myself.
(also a lil bonus of my sim from 2017, the only older picture that i have, i found it recently by accident and i think this is the only time when it's kinda in-context to post it 🤣).

Thank you for sending me this back! I usually don't talk about how much i love some of my edits. But it's their time to shine!
First of all i should say that this portrait of Debbie is currently a GEM among my edits. I love it so much with all of my heart. The hair, the makeup, the BLOUSE. And the colors! Lately i've been trying various color schemes to diverse my edits more and this one comes out very special to me.
Second favorite is Andrea's portrait. I was just testing tattoos on her and took this portrait almost randomly but i love the way she's looking. Her eyes are full of strenght. Her previous portraits wasn't my favorite for some reason (maybe because she wore much makeup)

These ones are pretty old (from 2021) but i still geniunely love them! Especially Naomi. The idea of recreating her was rather impulsive because i was binge watching The Expanse but she comes out insanely realistic to me! She is edited a lot, i know. But her whole face structure was fully made in game. I just added some little touches of highlighting and shading. This portrait was unusual to me since i usually don't take screenshots at the background with something (just blank color surface yk) and it was fun to edit, especially draw her hair! It was almost the first time i drawn curly hair.
Second one is my self-portrait! Still my favorite because of the hairstyle, i think. This is my favorite type. I dreamed about converting it since ages when i didn't have converting skills. Too bad it haven't had much attention when i uploaded hair :( Nvm, everything is calling out to me from the hair to the colors and neat editing in here.

My favorite portraits from sci-fi series (which is no longer exist now) Rhea should've been betrayer of the squad and Paula had a role of a smart android on board. She was designed by Aaron and he took his deceased wife as a "face claim".

Still in love with these two portraits!
First one is my friend and classmate Oksana. When i showed her my creations, she asked me to recreate her in ts3. I already thought about that before she asked since she is really unique beauty! And she was also the one who supported my sims-hobby and adored my every picture. That was so cute of her. She liked the result by the way!
Second one is my "son" Freddie! I love him with all of my heart, he is just cute in this sweater even with his serious look in the eyes. This simple portrait was just for a preview picture for contacts, but it ended up being my favorite as self-dependent picture. They both came up pretty and realistic to me!

And the last one closing my top of favorites is Francine. This picture has taken in far away 2018. It is named "autumn rhapsody" on my PC. Francine really means a lot to me as a character. I developed her very well, and i wish i could tell whole story about her someday. To me, Francine is bright and melancholic just like autumn. Her color scheme is also what reminds of autumn and the last rays of sunshine that lays down on the fallen leaves.
