It turns out the GIW has a new weapon. It’s not an energy blast but instead a shotgun, and the shot pellets have special anti-ghost properties.

And how did Danny learn this?

Well, he got hit by it.

He expected the pain, but not the way his power short-circuited. It was pure luck that he avoided the next shot and that they didn’t get a good look at him. After that, though, his experience allowed him to roll with the chaos and get away.

But the blood and ectoplasmic loss finally catches up with him just as he enters the house. He collapses to the floor, delirious.

That’s how his parents found him.

The realization that their son is Phantom—is a ghost—is shocking, but right now they have a more urgent concern: making sure he survives his injuries.

Taking him to a hospital is out of the question. Never mind if they’d even be able to treat his type of biology, it’d reveal that Danny is… whatever it is that he is. If he could fully return to his human form, they could take him. If he could go fully ghost, his powers might help him recover. But the pellets are still inside his body, still forcing his powers to go haywire.

They need to remove them.

Which means surgery.

Neither of them are professional surgeons, but they have to try.

They don’t have any real anesthetics (would they even work on a ghost?), so they strap him down to prevent him from thrashing. They don’t have blood bags, but Ecto might be able to delay that issue (or would it make it worse? He’s their son, they need to get this right).

They pull out their tools get to work.

And Danny wakes up screaming.

Little thought

Otis Sr. died because of the coin fell from the sky and hit his eye. Wasn’t it some kind of metaphor for these people who work so hard, trying to gain “fame” and earn money, but the industry is cruel to regular people, so the showbusiness just will “kill” em now or later? I think it may have some sense, since Haywoods trained and sell horses for Hollywood, and it was clearly obvious that OJ&Em’s dad worked so hard to build his family business and keep it successful. Maybe he didn’t plan to witness the spectacle, but the spectacle, Jean Jacket, the representation of predatory machine of Hollywood killed him, but not the same way as JJ killed Jupe, SLE crowd, TMZ guy or Holst, he didn’t swallow him, bc he wasn’t a “viewer”, but he was a person who dedicated himself to the industry, and the spectacle killed him with a golden coin:v

This scene really got me, cuz it was something that could be called a true bad miracle. The death by a small peace of scrap falling from the sky, it sounds almost impossible but it something that really could happen.

i have to laugh, i'm getting my pathology bills in the mail from my top surgery (because where i live it's legally required to do breast cancer screenings... after?? the surgery?? instead of before, for some reason??)

and i got my bill for my left breast about a month ago. $17 and change. okay. cool.

i got my bill for my right breast today. $10.22.

i am DYING to know what the difference is. there was only maybe a 50 gram difference in the amount of tissue removed, so i'm like - did they find anything? my reports were clear, so... was my insurance just like fuck you, you're right handed, left tit is more expensive? this is so crazy to me

happy pride month!

i only came out to my mom as asexual in.. january? and that was kind of a brief thing - she didn't know what it was, and i don't generally explain it too much unless asked (which I haven't really been). She seemed fine with it and we moved onto other topics. I know a lot of people think it's a blanket "doesn't want sex" but I think that's an oversimplification of asexuality.

I haven't really confessed to IDing as agender though my feeling towards both A's are mixed because it's hard to prove a negative. all i can say is that I don't like putting a gender online if i can avoid it, feel like gender divides are silly, but I don't necessarily mind putting Female on documents. i do sometimes wish i didn't have breast/was more ambiguous looking but not enough to change how I look. mostly because they feel like unnecessary "extras" rather than hating them.

Finally reached a point in my transition where I pass (more than I used to at least asjglglc). One of the other patients was so confused when he learned that I share a room with a woman lmao. (The staff asked me if I prefer getting a man or a woman as a roommate and I said I don't care)
