Caitlyn makes me lowkey so mad bc she's lived in objective privilege her entire life, even when she tried to be a grittier cop in s1, she literally has a true safe haven to go back to with her two parents to care for her and listen to her. In s2, yeah her mom has been murdered, but holy shit can you imagine how much food and other resources the underside could have gotten for the cost of that funeral and that casket? Caitlyn has her way because of her name, gets platformed to the highest degree for her name even if she's being manipulated. She still has every resources at her fingertips despite Jinx's terrorism.

And yet when Vi, who is literally trying to kill her own sister, just didn't want Caitlyn to potentially shoot a very young child, Caitlyn acts like she has suffered more than Vi's whole existence. "I keep telling myself you're different but you're not." GIRL, YOUVE LOST IT. YOU HAVE NOW BECOME THE KIND OF ENFORCER VI FEARED AND HATED AS A CHILD. The mirror pointed back at Caitlyn with that sentence thrown at Vi is harrowing, holy shit.

I've been thinking about Ceroba's plan, and the more I think about it the more I think that she straight up did not have an actual plan. Literally nothing beyond a vague "get the soul, go to the lab" that she's been turning over in her head while she stews in her guilt.

Like, Clover shows up and she's completely unprepared. This fantasy of upholding her family's legacy in suddenly possible and she is not ready to pounce on it. She and Clover are going through Steamworks and even she's not sure when the murder is supposed to happen, so she just keeps putting it off more and more until Starlo shows up.

IVE BEEN SAYINGGGGGGGGG. She literally has no idea what she’s doing it’s a miracle she even got out of the steamworks (like. The only reason she didn’t have to brute force through all the doors like she had to at the furnace is bc their security codes are terrible lol). Why did she even think she needed to go through the steamworks just use the ugps travel stupidddd. She’s going stealth even though the neutral steamworks route proves there’s really no reason to. In the end it actually fucked up her plan more than anything bc it gave star enough time to find out her plan.

And yeah the whole plan is built on theoreticals. On the hypothesis for an experiment that Literally Killed Its Creator.of course the plan is gonna be inherently flawed in every single way. “Trust me if I do the exact same thing that almost killed my daughter But Correctly This Time everything will work out and we can protect monsterkind. Truuuuust me.” GIRL…… I am sealing her in the cube she can’t keep doing this shit

okay, so casper and nova, right? the casper and nova game is one big metaphor for simon and betty’s relationship. and the last thing we see in it is: nova tries to sacrifice herself so casper can get what he wants, and the choices are to either go with that, or nova lives but casper forgets her. and it’s obviously meant to parallel simon and betty’s situation in come along with me after they get swallowed by golb: either betty can sacrifice herself to keep simon safe, or she doesn’t but he goes back to being ice king. (um, that is, assuming that she was correct to think they might revert to the forms they had before getting digested after exiting golb. which is not something we have any actual evidence for. it was just a possibility that occurred to her and a risk she wasn’t willing to take.)

UM. EVERY PART OF THAT WAS BECAUSE OF DECISIONS BETTY MADE INDEPENDENTLY?

betty decides to jump through the portal when simon is trying to say goodbye to her, betty decides to fix the crown and then try to find a way to cure him even after he’s told her he’d rather die than be ice king again, betty decides to fucking summon golb, betty decides to push simon out of golb before he can react at all just in case the crown goes back to its former state once it leaves and just in case there’s no way to get rid of golb without its wish magic.
