my four favorite character categories as represented by the Skyjacks PCs. does this make sense?? am I making this make sense??
(also Orimar supremacy)
#i think I could make a strong case for jonnit as a Sharpshooter as well but these categories fluctuate and are based on vibes lol#also i had to stop and think when i realized travis - the literal shapeshifter! - is NOT in the Werewolf category?? lmao tbh#i could also make a case for gable to not be in the Ghost category but i think its fitting that they're ALL Ghosts. i have a Type#ok so. all categories are both literal and metaphorical#scientists are intelligence characters but also those who are complex thinkers and/or are awkward or socially challenged#sharpshooters are literal (skilled ranged attackers) but also singleminded and brutal melee combatants (crossover with werewolf)#and metaphorically are characters who have intense focus or keep to themselves or wall their hearts/have a troubled history they hide#werewolves are brutal and blunt fierce and powerful as well as those who are treated as 'too much'#ghosts are anyone with a connection to Death but also anyone forgotten or left behind. ignored children or overlooked pacifists#obviously theres many a character who'd fit one or more of these categories and wont end up being my Favorite character from their media#but practically every character who fits at least one of these categories will be a Well Liked character#(and whether or not i think a character fits a category is generally based on my vibes too i guess lmao)

Until We Found You
Hello! This is my first time ever posting onto here, so please excuse any mistakes or any tags that may be missing. I wanted to write about a poly!ghostface au and age up all the characters and place them into college. I hope this gets at least a few reads!
Part II Part III Part IV Part V Part VI Part VII Part VIII Part IX
Context: Modern Day College Scream AU, Obsessed AFAB!Reader, Eventual Poly!Ghostface x reader, Eventual NSFW, All characters 18+
You bit down on the tip of your pencil, chewing the metal part of it as you spaced out for the hundredth time today. A few days ago news broke of one of your best friends being killed, Casey Becker, and like every day since that fateful night, news reporters were swarming the campus. Woodsboro University was famous overnight for it, a crazed killer on the loose in the town and no one knew why Casey and her boyfriend Steve were the victims. What made it truly unnerving was that no one knew if they were going to be the only ones.
It didn’t make you scared, not really at least, you were more intrigued than worried if you were going to be the next person to get a mysterious phone call. No, you spent the next morning with Randy and learned all about what happened. How Steve was found bound to the chair, duct tape and blood practically branded onto him, and how the Beckers found Casey. She was one of your best friends, you couldn’t deny you felt like you needed some therapy for not crying for more than maybe an hour over her, but something in you was more interested in who did it.
That was what was on your mind for the hundredth time today, any of Casey’s boyfriends all the way to fucking pre-k could be a suspect, maybe her family, or maybe it was some random stranger who decided to take their anger out on an unsuspecting teenage girl. Randy and you talked all first period about your suspicions on who it could be, even accusing each other of being the killer, it did fit after all, the two horror buffs who knew every goddamn easter egg in every horror movie there was, it seemed perfect.
“Sidney, can you please tell your friend the answer to at least make it seem like she was listening?” Ms. Crane asked, Sidney nudging you and whispering the answer as the class laughed. “ah, um, phosphorus gas.” You answered, looking at Sidney with wide eyes after you answered. “Phosphine, but I will take that. You guys can pack up, let me take role before you all leave.” Ms. Crane said with a sigh.
“What’s up with you? Are you totally sure you don’t want to go to the grief counselor after school? I mean even Tate went-“ “Sid, I’m fine, seriously. I just, it’s freaky is all. I mean not knowing who did it? What if they have a thing for college chicks, I think we fit into that category very well and-“ “And we will be fine, it was probably just a one-time thing…I mean it's more likely that it is, right?” Sidney asked as she packed her bag, putting a comforting hand on your shoulder. “Don’t sweat it, if you want you can stay at my place for the week, my dad’s on a trip and I would kinda enjoy the company,” she offered, smiling at you reassuringly. You gave a nod, “yeah, let me just at least spend tonight at my place, my mom will kill me if I miss dinner tonight and take off for a week out of the blue.” “Are you sure you’re really 19 and not 9?” Sidney asked jokingly, earning a laugh from you.
After dinner you had taken a shower, your parents had gone out for the night to take a late-night date- which you theorized was them renting a motel to not risk traumatizing you. You brushed out your hair as you sat down on your vanity chair, putting it into a braid before you went to bed. Your cat was sitting peacefully on your bed, moving every now and then to change her position before darting out of your room. “Irena!” You called after her, scoffing when she didn’t come back to the room. You put your hairbrush down onto your vanity, taking a look in the mirror before getting up from your seat. “I hope you don’t think you are eating even more food, missy, you got fed so much while I was at class today,” you said, acting as if Irena could really understand you. You made your way to your door, nearly walking out before noticing a paper had fallen onto the ground near your desk. You picked it up, reading the headline, Casey Becker and Steve Orth- funerals to be held on Friday the 27th at 9-11 AM. You sighed and set it down on the other papers stacked on your desk.
You walked out of your room, heading downstairs “Irena! Come on, I wanna go to bed,” you whined out, calling the cat to your room. You found her in the living room, hiding under the couch and refusing to come to you. “Fine, I’ll leave you a blanket out and don’t you dare come scratching at my door at 3 AM,” you told her, going to the hallway closet to get a blanket out for her. Once you had gotten one, you spread it out across the couch for her and said goodnight.
You were about halfway to your room when your phone began to buzz, digging it out of your pocket and seeing your mom's number you quickly answered. “Hey, what's up? You guys heading back already,” You asked, continuing up to your room.
“Heading back? Who said I ever left?” A strange voice asked on the other line, making you pause for a moment as you moved to make sure it was your mom. “Listen asshole, I don’t have more than 15 dollars in my bank account so have fun with whatever hot cheetos and mountain dew you can get with that,” you said before hanging up on them, putting your phone back into your pocket. You were up the stairs now, deciding to use the bathroom before you went to bed for the night but before you could open the door your phone rang again. “Didn’t I already say I don’t have money? What the fuck do you want?” You asked angrily, “Irena, right? Like Irena Dubrovna? Who did you prefer, Simone or Natassja?” The same voice asked you, making you look down the stairs. Irena hadn’t moved yet and no one was around her, or at least from what you could see. “If you hurt my fucking cat I will personally cut off your balls and feed them to he-“ A laugh from the caller cut you off, “I don’t have fun with animals. I’m not Bundy or Dahmer, I like to see my victims, human victims…struggle.” You heard your parent's bedroom door open, letting out a scream before running into your room and slamming the door shut, locking it quickly before the person began to bang on it. You looked around, going to your window and trying to lift it open.
The door cracked, it was like the scene from the shining, except this killer bore a white mask, you recognized it from the Halloween store- father death. You struggled with the window again, before giving up and grabbing the lamp from your bedside table and throwing it at them. The killer moved out of the way before they were hit, pushing their body against the door once more and climbing in through the opening. You could see them fiddle with their knife as if they had held it in their hands a hundred times already and were skilled at fidgeting with it.
You grabbed a glass organizer from your desk, taking the scissors from it before chucking the holder at them. The papers you had stacked before scattered from the throw as they fell down. You rushed to the window as they struggled to get up but never heard them stand. When your head whipped around to check if they were behind you, you instead saw them looking at the papers around them.
Masked killer, Casey and Steve headlines, Maureen Prescott, Cotton Weary trials, even the cutouts you had of Sidney from court. You were obsessed. There were drawings, suspects lists, hell all these needed were red kiss marks and ‘please fuck me mr ghostface!’ written in pink glitter pen ink.
You stared wide-eyed at them when you saw their gaze now on you, their head cocked to the side as a laugh sounded from behind the mask. Just then you heard the sound of gravel being crushed around from the driveway, your parent's car was pulling in, you saw them getting out from your window. When you turned back you noticed the person was gone, you ran downstairs and met your parents at the door, crying and beginning to blubber on about what nearly happened.

I will say I think part of the reason OG Kirk isn't more popular on Tumblr is because he can't be crammed into the 'If one part of a ship is the unemotional logical one the other one MUST be the bouncy himbo sparkle softboy' cliche. Kirk can be goofy and has a good sense of humor, he teases and laughs, but speaking in Lord of the Rings terms, Kirk isn't Pippin, he's Aragorn.
Which is SO much tougher for the 'must distill every variety of character into the same 5 different people' crowd on Tumblr. There isn't an 'Aragorn' slot because 'incredibly complicated' isn't descriptive enough for cliche. Like yes, he's charming, but it's the quiet sort of charming. Yes, he's a strong athlete and a fighter, but he's fundamentally a shockingly huge nerd and spends his private time reading poetry and thinking about philosophy and what it means to be a leader. Yes, he's haunted, but he has a fundamental hope that keeps shining through. Kirk's got a serious job, and he's a serious person. He's an Adult kind of adult. He's one of the last survivors of a horrific genocide. He's killed people with his bare hands.
Spock wasn't bowled over by how bright and shiny and cuddly Kirk was. Because underneath everything, there's a fundamental sadness and loneliness to Kirk, and a simmering possibility of rage that most people would consider Abnormal. And Spock shares those qualities, though for different reasons. The thing that really shakes Spock (besides Kirk's iron sense of loyalty) is that there are times where KIRK is more coolheaded and professional than Spock is. In everyday terms, Kirk is easily and confidently emotional in a way Spock was always taught was a weakness, but when the shit hits the fan Kirk gets this shine of cold, calculating, James Bond-like brutality/practicality that not only meets Spock's Vulcan control, it will at times go PAST it. Surviving that genocide gave Kirk access to both a level of iron-willed 'do whatever is necessary to live no matter what' and a level of genuinely bloodcurdling rage that, when death is on the line, reads sometimes like a Vulcan on steroids. In a battle-type situation Kirk has absolutely looked at Spock and snapped like 'for god's sake, control yourself', and that is some whiplash a Vulcan doesn't just get OVER.
At the very start OG Kirk is already both wildly famous for and frighteningly good at being a commander, better than Spock is by miles, which forces Spock to confront his self-hate fueled 'Vulcans are better' prejudices over and over again until Spock has a starry-eyed admiration for Kirk that knocks him so hard into love that Spock's teeth rattle. Kirk isn't Some Soft Boy that grows on Famous Vulcan Spock against his will. Kirk is the most talented Starfleet officer in generations- He's Horatio Nelson, except not an imperialist asshole. Spock is (at first) just Some Science Guy who managed to nail one of the most coveted jobs in Starfleet.
Like, what is Tumblr going to do with a Kirk (who is supposed to be the bouncy soft boy half of Spirk) who looks coldly at an alien who is killing people and without hesitation goes 'I am a military man, we have a mission, we don't have time to understand motivations, kill that thing' and calmly walks off? And then Spock, (the unemotional logical one) is the one going after him going 'please, this is a thinking creature, it could be scared or hurt, think of its feelings, at least let me try to talk to it'. And like, the big lesson of the episode is KIRK being convinced by Spock to care more and be more empathetic?
Like, that's not some shit Tumblr can fit into its 'five acceptable personalities for every single ship ever'. There isn't a category for 'one is the logical one and the other one is the guy in charge on the battlefield that the men point their swords at while yelling "to the king!"'
But, it does make me a bit sad, because god, the relationship between Kirk and Spock is unique. Because Kirk is SUCH a freak. If there's a fictional personality grouping Kirk is a part of it's like Kirk, Chris Evans' Captain America, Aragorn, and nobody.
I super agree! AOS Kirk fits the bill more for the ship dynamics tumblr focuses on (and I do really love Chris Pine's performance, not half because it was what introduced me to Star Trek in the first place), but I do find TOS Kirk more intriguing because he has such layers. He's scarily competent, youngest captain in Starfleet and it's not like you get in that position by being a sunshine flower boy - he's got a streak of cold practicality that, yeah, is super apparent in Devil in the Dark. But he's also warm, loving, and physically affectionate with his closest friends, professional with his subordinates and his duties, calculating with his enemies, and overall an exceedingly intelligent individual who does not take his position and responsibilities lightly. And in terms of his relationship with Spock, it was all those things that drew Spock's respect and interest, and not (checks notes) his being a "bouncy himbo sparkle soft-boy". He's just a wonderful character <3
#I do however love a good 'spock blushes cause jim is physically affectionate' thing though#as is clearly apparent in the last drawing i posted. but i love jim for being a responsible and mature leader#including the kind of cold and practical decisions he makes#as well as being a warm and affectionate man#god i do fucking lvoe that man god help me#ask#star trek#jim kirk#star trek tos

@lynettethemadscientist replied to your post “me: narratively, it's much more interesting to...”:
I’m willing to hear a humanized view of Raiders. Though I doubt it will convince me
Sure, I'll expand on this. Point of note, this is pretty West Coast/FNV-centric since that's my primary area of interest.
Let's start with defining terms since this is the piss-on-the-poor website. A raider is a bandit, someone who survives by plunder, often roaming in search of things to steal or people to attack. Many raider gangs in the Wasteland are relatively loose allegiances of a few like-minded individuals, but some are established social groups with distinct cultures. The 80s, the Vipers, and the Khans are examples of raider groups that expanded to fit the definition of a tribe—that is, a social division consisting of families or communities linked by social, economic, religious, or blood ties, with a common culture and dialect.
The 80s, first outlined in Joshua Sawyer's rpg, are a gang of bandits that operate along the Northern California 80 Freeway and have long contested territory with the White Legs; The Vipers are organized around their shared religion, which is only vaguely described as ancient, but there are what appear to be ritualistic elements to their organization and raiding practices.
The Khans, inspired by Genghis Khan and the Mongols Motorcycle Club, value strength and martial prowess. Founded around 2141, the Khans raided and traded around Shady Sands and Junktown before they were wiped out by the Vault Dweller. Darion, the lone survivor of the original gang, rebuilt it into the New Khans, who in turn were largely destroyed by the Chosen One. Finally, Papa Khan united the fragmented bands and led them to the Mojave in 2267, where they settled. The massacre at Bitter Springs establishes that at this point, the Khans include non-combatants in their group such as children and elders, and until the NCR occupation, Bitter Springs was their home.
I'm going to proceed on the assumption that we all agree that genocide is wrong and set aside the Khans for now, especially because they are a faction that is not immediately hostile to the player, in contrast to the Vipers, Jackals, and Fiends.
Despite their lore, the Vipers don't get anywhere near the development the Khans have and end up in the category of fodder for the player to indiscriminately kill, an act for which you can even gain karma. And this is what brings me to the point of the original post, which is... hey, what the fuck?
I understand from a game mechanics perspective that it's useful to have an unlimited supply of enemies that the player can slaughter for experience points. But, that necessarily dehumanizes the members of that group, which is extra fucked up when you consider that some of them, like the Vipers, are a distinct tribal group.
And even in the case of, say, the Fiends, who we are told are fueled only by bloodlust/dependence on chems and presumably lack any sort of identifiable cultural allegiance, I don't like that it's considered morally good to just kill them all. They're still people.
I would like, especially from a role-playing game, to have more options to talk them down, to get them help for their addictions, and attempt to reintegrate them into society. Maybe that doesn't work on every character, maybe some of them really do just revel in violence and bloodshed and don't want a way out, but I'd like more recognition that raiders aren't a monolith and don't exist in a vacuum, that these are individuals who were driven to where they are by myriad circumstances and an underlying need to survive. It's more realistic and more interesting.
The way the Khans are developed has plenty of problems, certainly, but I appreciate that there was at least some development of who these people are and how they got to be where they are, and I think that's something that's lacking with a lot of the others.

On the subject of problematic stories, fanfiction archive policies, and "(x) fans DNI"…
Here's my analysis on… well, how a visceral moral/ethical response can never fully work in tandem with the practical considerations of policy and enforcement.
Yes, there are some stories that I find irredeemable, stories so upsetting that I would genuinely not want the writers of them to ever interact with me. Mostly these are stories about truly horrible acts-- things like rape, child molesting, domestic abuse, racist hate-crimes, genocide--
--and I don't just mean any story that mentions or depicts these acts in any way, because lots of stories can talk about those concepts without making me hate the author or wish the story would disappear.
No, I'm specifically referring to stories that portray these things in a way that strongly suggests the author likes them… a lot, to the point of probably wanting to commit these acts in real life.
And yes, there are some stories that do convey that feeling quite strongly, without much room for other interpretations. I'm not gonna claim that every story has the right to a charitable interpretation. Some people do just… write to express really hateful, toxic thoughts without any redeeming quality about them.
And yes, I do think that there are certain stories that "All Reasonable People" would agree fit in that category.
Not many of them. The vast majority of stories have some room for sympathy. And even for the worst ones, reasonable people can disagree a lot on just what should be done with such stories. But I'd say that for those few, bottom-of-the-barrel worst stories, those same reasonable people would at least be in agreement that the writer is someone they would not want to ever be around, and that the stories do nothing much except spread hate and encourage hurtful ideas.
Practically speaking, though-- just how could you structure the rules and rule-enforcement of a fiction site to exclude those stories specifically?
For instance. Say I'm a site-owner writing my terms of service and trying to make it clear there's no tolerance for rape or abuse, underage sex, racism or sexism or homophobia…
Well, for one thing, there's all the technical detail of how you define every one of those things. And that's its own whole set of challenges, which have been explored in many many other essays. Do stories about sex-pollen or mating cycles count as rape? Can a coffeeshop AU romance between customer and employee ever truly be consensual, with that power dynamic where the employee knows she can get fired if a spurned customer makes a retaliatory complaint to a manager? And how clearly do you have to show characters planning out healthy boundaries to stop BDSM play from being abuse? Is it abusive to ship characters who have had fantasy or sci-fi battles with each other? In a world that has magical beings, robots and clones and space aliens of all kinds, what even counts as a race? And in that same diverse setting, is a character's age defined by number of years, mental maturity level, appearance, or some combination thereof?
It's all been analyzed into oblivion, without ever reaching an overall consensus.
But even on the topics where there is consensus-- even regarding scenarios that that are very obviously rape or abuse or racist violence or child molestation in the consensus of All Reasonable People-- even there, how would I word the policy so I'm not prohibiting critical discussion of those topics?
If I just say, for instance, "stories can't have child sex abuse or racial hate crimes in them" …
...then, I'd be making it technically against the rules to post a story in which, say, a traumatized character talks to a therapist about their childhood experience of being a victim of sexual or racial violence.
And of course I don't want to ban that kind of story! Being free to talk about traumatic experiences is vitally important. Being free to show fictional characters having that kind of talk can also be vitally important.
And, personally, the degree of detail or explicitness also isn't what I'd try and regulate. The gist of the rule I'd want to write would be something along the lines of, "I don't want any stories that show these things and glorify them, eroticize or romanticize them; that portray them in a positive way."
But this rule-- like most definitions and rules, honestly-- cannot be written in a way that inherently, explicitly forbids all the stories I want to keep out, while inherently, explicitly allowing all those I want to allow.
Language simply can't do that.
Apart from rules written in programming language for governing the activities of software, rules never work "inherently" and "explicitly," anyway. They work in conjunction with human rule-enforcers.
The closest I could get to my goal, here, would be to use something like that vaguely written rule, "No stories that glorify, eroticize or romanticize these things," and then have a team of moderators interpret it on a case-by-case basis.
A case-by-case basis is the most high-effort way to enforce anything. But for a LOT of things, it's the only way that comes close to working. Anything that can only be defined as "I know it when I see it!" …has to be regulated by people knowing it when they see it.
And yes, if all those people had the same general common sense that I consider myself to have, and enough time and freedom to exercise it-- yes, I think they would be able to weed out all the stories that "All Reasonable People" would consider so toxic as to have no redeeming value.
But two big problems here:
This would require the moderators to read every story-- or at least to read and make a decision on every story that got enough reports from users who felt it broke the rules. Unless the site was very small, this would be a huge undertaking, requiring many hours of labor from the mods.
Unless the site was very small, they would not be able to do it without also weeding out some stories that do have redeeming value.
Because they would have to draw the line somewhere.
And with a large enough population of site members, a large enough team of moderators, and a large enough volume of stories posted, they could not draw that line consistently.
There would, inevitably, be complaints from all directions-- writers of all walks of life making accusations of bias, citing specific stories that got allowed, and contrasting them to other specific stories that got taken down.
There would be bias. There would be unfairness. It's not avoidable. And no matter who you are and what your tastes in fiction may be, it would, without fail, happen to some things that you think it shouldn't happen to.
Now, depending on your tastes, you may feel this would be a fair tradeoff for a site that successfully kept out most or all of the fiction you consider the worst.
But, so far, that has not been the case with any big fanfiction site.
On every large site that bans certain types of fanfiction identified on a case-by-case basis, there is widespread dissatisfaction with how it is or isn't enforced. It just isn't possible to do that kind of enforcement, on that kind of scale, and keep any large percentage of people satisfied.
Even AO3, which has very few rules of that sort, still gets its share of complaints. It does have some rules-- no monetizing fanfiction, no plagiarism, no doxxing-- and those are, to some degree, things that have to be interpreted and identified on a case-by-case basis by individual volunteer moderators.
And even with these comparatively simple decisions, there is a limit to how much of that they can get done in a day, and how consistent they can be at it… and, therefore, a limit to how much of the userbase they can satisfy.
And if you want to understand why they won't make more rules about the content of the fiction--
--just try to imagine, for a few moments, adding all that, on top of the current enforcement tasks those volunteers already do.
Imagine the logistics of it, the details. The work of reading and categorizing everything that gets reported. The dilemma of where to draw the line in each and every case, without those decisions forming any unfair pattern of inconsistency.
It could be done, maybe.
But it hasn't been done successfully, on that scale, ever.
If you were in their position, would you want to take that risk?

The Boruto Designs for the Rookie 9 Make No Sense
(Note: I'm not mentioning the blank period designs because that's a post all on it's own.)
A lot of people have complained about the designs of Naruto's generation in Boruto and I can't blame them(I actually agree with most of the criticisms made), but the number one problem I have with them I haven't found voiced. That problem is that they have no rhyme or reason behind them.
I don't think that Naruto was the pinnacle of character design or fashion in anime or anything, but I did like it for one big reason. All of the designs made sense for the characters. To me all of the Naruto character designs come across as in-character because, not only do they fit the personalities of the characters, the changes in the designs(specifically between Part 1 and Shippuden) feel like the natural progression of their designs.
The designs fall into one of two categories: more mature versions of their last designs(for the characters that have changed during the time-skip outside of getting more mature) and significant changes(for the characters who did change during the time-skip, usually in response to the Sasuke Retrieval arc).
The more mature ones include Naruto(he got longer pants, a new headband, and shoes, and started wearing black), Hinata(she lost the fur, got more color and new shoes, and grew her hair), Shino(got more jackets and color), Shikamaru(continued to look more like a chunin), Ino(lost most of the bandages and arm things, and got elbow and knee protection), TenTen(getting longer sleeves and new shoes, and simplifying her color pallet), Rock Lee(got a chunin vest and lost his headband), and, I'd argue, Neji(swapped the color beige for white, got longer sleeves and a skirt, and lost all of the bandages). Every aspect of their designs can be chalked up to Kishimoto's art style simplifying or adjustments that make the characters look more mature or protected. When you put their old and new designs next to each other, they're the natural progression of their last outfit(and a beautiful example of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"). Hell, if you know the characters well enough, you can probably imagine their thought process while they were out shopping(Hinata being embarrassed to still wear fur lining as a chunin, Shikamaru being tired of fighting to get his chunin vest over his jacket, etc.).
The significant changes match the characters who most needed a jump in practicality and probably went through character arcs related to taking their career more seriously. Sakura's outfit in Part 1 was cute but it was fashion over function. In Shippuden, she kept her hair short to avoid it being grabbed again, shortened her skirt for better mobility, changed her color pallet to look more mature, and got boots(with a heel, but it's low enough to be passable), elbow pads, and gloves for better protection. She's planning to seriously help Naruto find Sasuke and fight off the Akatsuki and her outfit reflects that. Sasuke has a very different outfit in Shippuden to reflect both his drastically different fighting style and his connection to Orochimaru. Kiba(changing into a more protective leather outfit) and Choji(wearing straight up armor and growing his hair out to better match his teammates) also fall under here and it's most likely in response to nearly dying on the Sasuke retrieval mission.
I'm not going over them, but the other members of the cast(if they even got a new look) also follow this trend.
The Boruto designs break this trend and give us worse designs because of it. At least that's the case for the rookie nine. Outside of the rookie nine, the trend continues and any complaints I have come down to personal preference. This time, their designs fall into three categories: salvageable, time moves forward and their clothes move back, and what the fuck?
The salvageable ones are Naruto and Ino. I can understand giving Naruto more black and shortening his hair to make him look older, I just think it could've been better and needs a second draft. Ino is fine just plain(something made worse by her being the most fashionista-like member of the Konoha 12). I'd say it also needs a second draft, but it doesn't. The anime just needs to start using her design in the Boruto manga(I know it's kind of hard to see since we don't get any panels showing it off, but it looks good from what I can tell).
The time moves forward and their clothes move back ones I have an easy to guess problem with. Kiba and Choji's outfits resemble their Part 1 designs much more than their Shippuden designs. Kiba lost the leather and Choji lost the armor despite both of them still being active shinobi. Instead of progressing, they regressed for some reason. Choji also cut his hair shorter. If they really wanted to give him a different haircut(because they insist on much of the cast having different hair), why not tie his hair into a ponytail to better match his teammates?
(I'm gonna give Sakura her own section since I have a lot to say.)
Remember when I explained how Sakura's more practical outfit in Shippuden denoted character growth? Well, that all went out the window. First, I have two nitpicks that I think add to the problem, but would probably be fine otherwise. 1. She's now wearing heels that not only remind me more of Tsunade than herself, but they also look bad for working in a hospital, let alone going on missions. 2. She chose to start parting her hair differently because... of reasons. This was literally the first thing I noticed about her design. I know this sounds super minor, but changes like these do impact character design and recognizability. However, the main problem is how many awkward call backs there are to her first design. The attaching part of her top is curved, the tail of her top(I don't know what else to call it) falls to her knees again, the Chinese elements of her top, and the white lining. In some ways, her design is actually worse. Not only is she wearing loose looking heels, but she's also wearing tight-fitting, non elastic pants. Why doesn't she dress like a ninja anymore??? What possible reason could there be for any of this??? I'd also like to bring your attention to her wearing make-up and jewelry. I like hyper-feminine characters. I especially like hyper-feminine characters that are also badasses. I don't think it's good character design to add hyper-feminine elements to the design of a character that has an entire moment dedicated to how their insecurity and resulting focus on their ability to live up to female expectations distracts them from their job and goals.
The what the fuck designs I have the most problems with. I'll do my best to keep my complaints to a reasonable length because I could do a full rant on all of them.
Shino is the easiest to explain. He lost the layers of jackets associated with his clan, he completely changed his hair, and he replaced his sunglasses with a weird thing around his head(I don't know what to call it). At first I was gonna say he more resembles his Part 1 design, but it doesn't resemble any of his designs. He looks like an entirely different character and I have no idea why Kishimoto changed him so much, let alone Shino's motivation in-story. Did they think he looked more like a teacher this way?
I don't even know what to say for Shikamaru. I can only assume that they said "We should give him a goatee like his dad" and then they gave up. He's wearing a black jumpsuit with a beige-ish green-ish jacket and brown gloves. I couldn't tell you why and I doubt Kishimoto could either. Why are his colors completely different from all his other designs? Why is he suddenly interested in wearing jumpsuits every day? Why is he wearing a necklace with a circle hanging from it(it's too big to be a wedding ring and Temari isn't wearing one(or any ring for that matter))? Why is he wearing gloves if he never goes on missions?
Technically, Hinata has three designs(one for the epilogue, one for the anime, and one for the Boruto manga), but all of my complaints are for the one used in the anime so that's what I'm gonna talk about. First, why is her design so busy? The art style used for the Naruto series has been getting progressively simple throughout its run time, so why does her design have so many unnecessary elements? Her hooded sweater is lined, she has three layers, her outfit consists of five different colors, and there's a little thing hanging off of her sweater. I know these all sound minor, but none of the other adults get this detailed. If anything, the others have designs that are too simple. The only exception, kind of, is Sasuke, but Sasuke is always covering his layers with a plain black cloak. Also, keep in mind, Hinata only has this problem with her anime design, her other designs are much more simple. Wouldn't it make more sense for the anime to use one of the simpler and better looking designs? Second, was there any thought put into her design elements? Her design looks so different from her Shippuden one that I feel like it would be a waste of time to list those differences. Just look at the two, they look completely different. If I had to guess, the only thought that went into her design was "how do we make Hinata look like a mom?" Which is a shame, because they should've been asking "how do we make Hinata look like an older Hinata?"
Last, we have Sasuke. Where do I even begin with Sasuke? Why is he suddenly wearing what looks like a button-up shirt and vest into battle? Why is there so much detail in his design if it's all gonna be covered by a cloak anyways? Why does he have two belts? Why is his hair brushed downwards? But, most importantly, why doesn't he look like Sasuke? It's not like the Shino situation where he looks so different he might as well be a different character, I can tell it's Sasuke, but he doesn't dress like he used to at all. He's the one character that it would've made sense to dress him like a more mature version of his Part 1 outfit and then they chose the worst characters for that instead. He doesn't even resemble his parents or Itachi at all. He doesn't resemble his clan at all. Nothing's really "wrong" with the design. It's not infuriatingly impractical or ugly and it only needs a few tweaks at worst. But it's probably one of my, if not my number one, least favorite Boruto design. It doesn't look anything like the character it's for and there's no in-story reason why that is.
#I'm aware that I'm so late talking about this that we've already gotten a design the Boruto part 2 design for one of these characters#But I only just made my tumblr account and this is what you get#rambling#character design#naruto analysis#naruto#naruto shippuden#naruto uzumaki#sakura haruno#sasuke uchiha#shikamaru nara#choji akimichi#ino yamanaka#kiba inuzuka#shino aburame#hinata hyuga#rookie nine#boruto naruto next generations#boruto next generation#rant#character design analysis#analysis#my stooff

Goal 1: Improving Technical Skills
As someone who isn't very proficient in design at all, I would like to use this project as a means to practice designing advertisements such as posters or social media posts. Whether that is using tools such as Adobe Illustrator, something widely used within the industry (Superside, 2023), or any other tool, I believe being able to at least mock-up any of my concepts could be very useful for any future designers I work with as I will be able to provide more of an idea for the concept I create. Being able to create at least a primitive mock-up as well as the creative concept will build my toolkit of skills. This will allow me to be much more flexible and adaptable, as well as allowing stronger points for communicating my ideas and concepts when working with others.
Goal 2: Enhancing Project Management Abilities
As I have never completed a full advertising campaign concept, or mock-up, before, I really want to make sure I have as many pieces of information of it covered before actually crafting and forming the advertisements. As such, I have broken the project up into 3 main categories.
Research and Planning
Find Client and Advertising Concept to build upon
Develop Advertising Problem & Objective
Analyse Target Audience, Competition, and Market Trends
Create Key Campaign Objectives
Outline Campaign Goals (SMART Goals)
Decide on Key Messages and Unique Selling Points (USPs)
Choose Platforms that Best Fit Target Demographic
Develop Principal Benefit of Product
Develop and Analyse Brand Character of Client
Concept and Development
Sketch Initial Ideas and Create Mood Boards
Decide on Colour Schemes, Imagery, and Typography (Brand Image)
Draft Headlines, Taglines, and Key Messages
Draft Copywriting for Ads
Prepare content tailored for different media channels (social media, billboards, posters, etc.)
Design
Develop digital mock-ups and examples
Create sample placements (social media posts, banner ads, billboards, posters)
Finalise designs that best demonstrate creative vision
Goal 3: Refining Creative Solutions
I have never been very good at planning, in the past, I have tended to think of the concept mentally and delve straight into creating, rather than developing plans and drafts. Practicing proper process and following developmental steps was indeed more time consuming, but certainly made sure that I was covering many more pieces of information than I may otherwise have i the past. It allowed me to properly layout my advertising concepts and research, and help find any holes or pieces of information that I may have missed.
When I started this project, I had really wanted to expand and delve into creating art physically, through drawing and designing. However, I soon realised that that really is not my strong suit. I've decided to keep one of my hand-drawn designs for the advertisement as a means of stepping out of my comfort zone. It is definitely not the strongest looking ad, with pretty weak line work, but it is something that I want to put out there to show that it's something I can actually do, given the time. Perhaps in future I will delve further into art and drawing, honing my skills where needed; however I do not see that coming to fruition too soon. Hopefully I can one day get to a stage where I will not need to trace over a reference image to draw.
Goal 4: Expanding Understanding of Industry Standards
As someone who has only ever made singular advertisements before, rather than a whole campaign, I never realised the depth and considerations that are needed. To create every single aspect of an advertisement campaign is a large undertaking, and something that I had certainly not tackled before.
Overall, I definitely could've delved a lot deeper into more proper aspects, such as laws and codes of ethics, however I'm not properly trained in any such areas, so didn't have too much of a concept of what I should/ should not be covering. I'm glad I leant into that area however, it was certainly an interesting read and gave me a greater appreciation for the amount of restrictions that must be placed on real advertising agencies.
The project required a lot more brain power and focus than many other advertising projects I had done in the past, as I was creating everything from the ground up, except for DoorDash's existing brand. Therefore, this project exceeded how much work I expected to be undertaking before even getting to designing an ad. I can also now see why certain professionals pick specific niche's, rather than cover every single stage in an advertisements life.
Conclusion
Some of my biggest takeaways from this project were to never underestimate much work goes into the creation of an advertising campaign, how much skill is required to create effective designs, and how being a "jack of all trades" may be harder than expected.
Originally, I had planned on covering every aspect of this campaign to help expand my skillset and become more flexible in my future career. After completing this project, I have realised that that may be stretching myself too thin, and that for future works, I should find a specific field or niche within advertising to grow and work within. It may be wiser to strengthen myself in a field, rather than be mediocre at multiple.
Overall, this project was a great learning opportunity. Although the designs themselves may be weaker in comparison to that of actual advertising agencies and professionals, I like to think that they are a solid and promising start. Keeping and documenting every step of the process has allowed me to not only cover any and all bases, but also gives me something to look back on and be proud of. Watching everything come together into one large campaign document was a very fulfilling experience.
I may not in future decide to build an entire campaign again, however I am still very glad that I gave it ago, and had a good experience when doing so.

so I think a lot of the problem with people not relating to women (and poc, disabled people, queer people, etc.) in fiction is a function of reading texts cooperatively. which is a natural impulse when we tell and hear stories, and often necessary to enjoying the story, depending on the story, person, and way they're enjoying it. and generally not something people do on purpose.
so the thing is, as we all know, there are certain groups and types of people who are considered default in society, which changes over time, but not as much as (or in the ways that) we want it to. and in general people have a hard time getting over that in their personal lives, especially - and I do mean especially, because statistics keep giving this answer - people who are impacted by that bigotry. not like other girls, not that type of gay, a more respectable poc, etc. but at least marginalized people are thinking about it.
what we have in mainstream fiction - almost every popular movie or TV show in the English language, and more than half of books - is white men in creative control. and they don't think about it. if they can be made to, they often with great attention to detail change how they tell stories, but who's going to make them think about it? usually no one. maybe if you're lucky one person on the team had a friend who talked to them about this, but no one else did. so they put white men, and typically neurotypical able-bodied middle class non-immigrant straight white men, front and center.
now the story is asking the audience to sympathize with a white man. that's the main character. usually, everyone does, because otherwise why would you bother engaging with that story? but it's most of the supporting characters, side characters, even background characters who are white men, too. and moreover - even when the people who don't fall into that category are interesting! even when they're engaging and fully developed and cute and fun! - the story focuses on them more. it says, let's take this character and use them as flavor for someone else's dish. those characters are a cog in another character's story, or a comment on it, or a counterpoint. the story doesn't center them, because that's not whose story it is (which isn't by itself bad, just in the aggregate).
then people take what they're used to doing to real people in real life (without knowing it, because implicit bias certainly isn't intentional or malicious) and match it to what the show is doing, and it fits, it doesn't upset the schema, so it doesn't cause any cognitive dissonance. (incidentally, this is why stories about marginalized people tend to only have marginalized characters in the main cast, or the exception is comic relief. because it will cause cognitive dissonance for there to be men around but the story is about women, or white people around but the show is about black people, or straight people around but the show is about the gay people's relationships with each other.)
now if people are used to reading works in a hostile (or at least non-cooperative) way, it becomes easier and easier to do over time. people don't tend to do hostile readings, tho. they often toss out parts they don't like and just ignore them, or try to come up with an explanation that's coherent to the story they were told in order to patch up plot holes and inconsistencies, or find alternate pathways that would fix the things they think are wrong. which is all well and good, because those are wellsprings of creativity as well, but they're still fundamentally agreeing with the text.
people have to practice saying things like: this character is not the way they present or see themselves. they are a fundamentally different person than the author thinks they are, and here is all the evidence in the text that they simply would not do the things they did, or that other people would not react that way to those things, or that they would do it and people would react that way but it's bad that's true and the hero is a fundamentally bad person. or it's good, actually, and the villain is a fundamentally good person, who did all the right things, and was punished for it. or it's morally gray in a way the text wholesale ignored. or it's actually pretty cut and dry and the text treating it like a matter of opinion is just an indication that all these characters are terrifying people.
things like: this plot was not inevitable, it was actually caused by events established in the narrative that the author thinks have nothing to do with the outcomes, even tho they can be easily read as causal. these twists are not surprising, the heroes are just incompetent, or unprepared, or think too highly of themselves and didn't do their due diligence. these obvious cause-and-effect scenarios aren't that obvious at all, and with different circumstances they might easily have panned out differently, or the fact that the heroes expected them says something terrible about their mental health, or the fact that they won/lost should have active implications in the story that are just ignored. or this plot has happened in real life, and here's when, and here's why you're wrong. or this didn't happen in real life, because here was the response to the opening circumstances instead, and how that would've gone.
things like: this world is larger and more complex than the story thinks it is. all the pieces inside it are so much more faceted; characters are so much more complex than that, physics is so much less understood than that, social structures are so much less logical than that. the narrator is wrong in ways they don't even know they're wrong. they're not unreliable reporters, they're telling you everything they know, but what they know is bullshit. all the world of the story being built on the truth of it, everyone acting on the knowledge of it - they're all wrong. they got some piece of it right, and missed everything else, and here is some - not all, never all, but some - of what they missed. maybe something so, so obvious to someone on the outside of it. maybe something that seemed impossible to learn with all the pressure to adhere to the canon.
and all this with marginalized people, too. this woman is this man's friend? no. he is her friend. this black person had to judge these white people's debate? no. this black person is watching some idiots they know argue, and trying to intervene. these abled people did something to accommodate their disabled friend? no. the disabled person was dealing with something horrible, and someone finally understood. sometimes a character can be a participant in someone else's story, and sometimes they can be the main character, even when that doesn't change the narrative, because, you know, it still changes the story even when it doesn't.
it's about disagreeing with the creators. it's about saying: I saw what you were trying to create, and I'm going to create it better. I saw what you were trying to create, and you created something wholly different, and I'm going to pull those differences out piecemeal and create a brand new text from them. I saw what you were trying to create, and I'm horrified by what you are trying to create, and I'm going to preserve those horrors in amber for all the world to see. I saw what you were trying to create, and you are wrong, and here are all the reasons why.
you have to know. then you can no.
#look i said something#this is not about reading comprehension this about people with full reading comprehension still reading cooperatively (as is expected)#and why reading uncooperatively is so productive#it's also a little bit about how white men should stop thinking about themselves so much and write about me instead#you just got to remember you're doing it and occasionally ask if there are other possibilities (or allow that other people found some)

[Also, I COMPLETELY forgot to mention that Severus had a muggleborn Gryffindor friend, I’m gonna edit that into my post rn]
I’m gonna have to disagree. We never see anyone give Severus the time of day and there was no mention of any Slytherins (besides Lucius and perhaps Avery and Mulciber) being somewhat supportive. And I think how excruciatingly painful it was for Severus to have lost Lily also supports that (and imo it makes it much more of a turning point for his arc). Lily was portrayed as the “light of his life,” it wouldn’t have meant as much if he had other Slytherins to support him.
“idk, avery and mulciber are practically non-characters to me since they get mentioned once, like marlene mckinnon. who's to say how they were really like after just one mention, one testimony, and from someone who belonged to the rival house?” That’s exactly why I didn’t place much importance onto them, but the one mention we ever get of them is Lily telling Severus they’re bad and creepy and that one of them did something notably shitty to Mary. The most we get to hear is that Severus hung out with them; that could mean he was their, as Sirius Black would say, “lapdog” (like Sev supposedly was to Lucius).
who knows if there were even slytherins in the area? even if there were, would they even go after a gang of well-known and well-connected bullies who had the headmaster's favor? slytherins prioritize survival; even if they were there, they really wouldn't have defended severus as it would have painted a target on their backs.
1. There were definitely Slytherins in the area, it was an O.W.L.s exam, and a DADA one too. Had it been some other subject like Muggle studies, then I’d certainly support your claim.
2. Depends. Do they support Severus and stick out for each other? The only Slytherin we see the Marauders seriously targeting is Severus, and it obviously can’t be because he “hates muggleborns and supports Voldemort!!” like some antis say, because if that had been true then why would they go after him rather than more well-known baby DEs who weren’t quiet about it? (James and Sirius were said to have hexed anyone because they could, there was no specific anti-muggleborn-haters movement or something, but Snape was a far more extreme target who they’ve done really vile things to.) So, had at least a more fortunate Slytherin or two stood up for him (and possibly, one Slytherin going up to them would slightly encourage another friend to go with them so they won’t be alone) or at least called a Professor, it’s possible something could’ve been prevented. And if SA and soap suds going down someone’s throat wasn’t enough for one of Snape’s supposed supporters to at least say something, then I doubt he meant very much to them. Like, if Harry or the twins had just water boarded and sexually assaulted Crabbe, I’m sure Draco would come up to them and at least tell them to go fuck themselves.
“i don't think all slytherins were rich either. tom riddle definitely wasn't. it's highly impossible that they would all be wealthy” I said “most of them” for a reason there. I’m not reducing Slytherin to any stereotype (I’m quite literally a Slytherin myself), I never assumed each and every individual Slytherin would be some evil filthy rich blood supremacist and started yelling out “GREEN ROBE BAD MUST GO AZKABAN.” I said the general perception of Slytherin is that they are mostly purebloods who mostly come from rich families and mostly aren’t the biggest fans of muggleborns and half-bloods. Snape doesn’t fit into ANY of those categories, so ALL of that lowers the chance of him having any friends. Not every Slytherin is rich, not every Slytherin is pureblood, not every Slytherin is blood prejudiced, etc, but the fact that not one of those statements apply to an unattractive Severus [I’m mentioning his appearance because you also brought up Tom, who, yes, did apply to almost the same categories as Snape, but was blessed with good looks and charm (and wasn’t bullied and verbally abused “because he exists”). Furthermore, that goes to show how far pretty privilege can take you] lowers the chance of getting befriended, since almost every Slytherin we see fits into at least one or two categories or has some other “special” talent (referring to Tom Riddle’s severe rizz charm and Slughorn’s ability to completely surround himself with famous/popular and highly-respected people in order to boost his image). And the fact that there might’ve been Slytherin who didn’t fit into those categories doesn’t prove he had friends, even if my original post had some errors, there is still no proof Severus had friends or was supported. Simply because there isn’t a 100% confirmation that Slytherin didn’t exclude/look down on Snape doesn’t automatically prove that he had supporters. The same sorta applies to me—just because there’s no proof that Severus didn’t have any Slytherin friends besides Lucius does not mean he indubitably didn’t, I’m merely basing my OP on the information we already know.
I really appreciate your ability to stay respectful during this, but I disagree with your perspective. I’ve personally always preferred to keep my head in canon and all the information we could’ve gotten out of it lol.
What so many people fail to realise about Snape is that he wasn’t just ostracised by other Hogwarts houses and professors because he was a Slytherin, but he also wasn’t welcomed by Slytherins either. He was a poor half-blood with a Muggle name who clearly wasn’t taken care of well—that’s practically the polar opposite of most Slytherins. The only Slytherin we see give him the time of day is Lucius Malfoy, and even then, that scene where he welcomed 11 year old Snape into Slytherin displayed some grooming implications. Additionally, Avery and Mulciber were mentioned by Lily, but from what we’ve heard, they seem like jerks and there was no mention of genuine friendship. It’s also important to note that during Snape’s Worst Memory, no Slytherin or any student at all (aside from Lily) stepped in to defend Snape when he was being attacked.
So not only was Severus Snape not welcomed by the rest of Hogwarts because he was a Slytherin, but he wasn’t accepted by the Slytherin House either. He was an outcast, in a house full of outcasts.

(Voted 2nd-most-popular-character on the jpn server in a combination of seven different character-ranking surveys held throughout 2021)
Riddle prioritizes rules and regulations above all else. While he can become explosively angry when provoked, no one has been expelled from Heartslabyul Dorm since Riddle became its housewarden and he is normally calm and reserved.
He is at the top of his class, constantly earning perfect marks with the exception of physical fitness tests, where he scores below average (according to Riddle, “A true mage simply excels in magic over fitness”). He is also the best flyer of the 2nd year students, according to Jamil, but in a home-screen line Riddle recommends that the player go to Cater with any flying-related questions they may have.
He legitimately enjoys studying, always looking pleased when Crowley appears for Special Lessons. Despite his impatience with Lucius’ noises during class, Trein is his favorite professor.
Riddle’s love of information does not end at serious subjects such as history and practical magic, but also extends to anything with which he is unfamiliar, such as when he became mildly jealous of Cater’s effortless knowledge of popular trends and vowed to look up trendy smartphone cases.
He holds the record for second-fastest seizing of the housewarden position, defeating the previous (and much more laid-back) housewarden of Heartslabyul within a week of enrolling at the school in his first year. (It is not specified whom it is that holds the record for the fastest promotion, or whom it was that he defeated for the title, although there are many fan-theories).
Riddle feels very strongly about being “correct”, to the point of following rules to the detriment of common sense (i.e. adding oyster sauce to a tart because Trey had added it to the recipe as a joke). In Book 1 we learn that this is because, due to his upbringing, “rules made him who he is” and “to deny the rules would be to deny who he is as a person”.
He is not a good cook as he obsesses over adding the “correct” amount of ingredients to his dishes.
In a vignette where he attempts to make soup for a sick Trey, Trey eats it out of obligation, but with much difficulty. We learn from Trey that Riddle simply does not have a discerning palate and does not care much for whether something tastes good or bad, rating food based on his own, personal expectations (during Master Chef events where he is a judge, he will not touch any dish that he scores under three points).
There are often times when he is gentle, such as when caring for the dorm’s hedgehogs and his beloved Equestrian Club horse, Vorpal.
Riddle compliments others most sincerely when they succeed at something they have been striving towards. After the events of Book 1 he has been working hard to be less judgmental and lower his expectations for those around him, but it is a constant struggle.
He has memorized all 810 of the Queen of Hearts’ laws and believes that everyone should be more than capable of memorizing at least 100, as a matter of common sense.
When asked in a birthday vignette how he spends his free time, Riddle insists that students should have no free time outside of studying and extracurricular activities, but then admits that it’s possible that his caring for the doom’s hedgehogs might not fall into either of those two categories. It seems that caring for the hedgehogs is supposed to be a task that is rotated throughout the dorm, but he is always following up, just in case someone else forgets.
Floyd refers to him as “Kingyo-chan” (goldfish), because--in Floyd's own words--"Small and red--that's what a goldfish is", while Rook calls him Roi du Rose (King of Roses). (“Rose du Roi” is actually the name of a real rose, described as being “magenta-crimson” in color).
Growing up, his mother controlled every aspect of his every-day-life from the clothes he wore and food he ate (forcing him to memorize and recite the caloric intake of his meals) to the friends that he was allowed to make. At her insistence, Riddle has also been trained in dancing (ref: Halloween). He tried fast food for the first time at the age of 17.
In the novel we learn, when he was very young, Riddle’s mother would regularly leave the house for one hour a day to complete an unspecified task. This hour was the only unsupervised time he ever had, and was meant to be for self-study. Instead, for “two or three months”, Riddle sneaks out of his bedroom through a window to play with Trey and Chenya, who were the first friends he ever made in his life (after they knock on his window to get his attention and invite him out).
Upon discovering this, his mother permanently bars the window and forbids her son from ever seeing them again, despite his pleas and promises.
In both the game and the manga, his mother goes to Trey's house and ":...with 10 times more force than Riddle himself, lectured my entire family for five hours straight”.
This was changed on ENG-server to Trey saying that he “got lectured by (his) whole family for five hours straight”.
Riddle is tormented by the thought of never again seeing Trey and Chenya, and by the fear that they have forgotten him and no longer care. Trey and Riddle are then reunited upon his enrollment at Night Raven College, with Chenya attending Royal Sword Academy.
His special talent of crossword puzzles came from such puzzles being included in the back of the textbooks that his mother purchased for him every month. Every other form of entertainment was forbidden in his household growing up.
He has a collection of 3,000 crosswords that he made himself as a child, saying that, when he was younger, he “had hoped to give them to Trey and Chenya one day…”
Riddle’s athletic clothes are slightly oversized, as they were purchased with the belief that he would grow into them. While excelling at horseback-riding and flying lessons, he is not in the least muscular and is sensitive about his physical size. He insists that he has high expectations for a growth spurt in the next year.
His goal for the future is to become a magic-using physician, just like both of his parents: a particularly demanding profession in the Twisted Wonderland universe. This is the career he has been trained for from a very young age, but since enrolling at Night Raven College he has become increasingly interested in law, and is often reading books on judicial administrations.
We know very little about Riddle’s father (aside from his being a magic-using physician), but in a home screen line for Riddle’s Phantom Bride card, he says that he wishes that the Queen of Hearts would share the secret of a happy marriage with his parents.
Riddle learned his unique magic, “Off with your head”, at the age of ten. It is a powerful ability that renders its victim incapable of using their own magic. It has its limitations, however: if the person has a superior defensive magic that does not offer him an opening, it can be repulsed (as Leona does in Book 2). It can also be thrown off if the person’s magic is stronger than that of Riddle himself (i.e. Leona).
Translation: "The desk on the left has a large bookcase filled with books. The nightstand next to the bed and the stool at the foot of the bed are also stacked with books, showing Riddle's studious nature. The headboard of the bed is decorated with red hearts, and the low table has a red rose. Wanting Cater to get a high score on his next exam, Riddle comes up with a study method using magicam and diligently uploads tagged photos throughout the night."
It would appear that Riddle has speech patterns that may have been inspired by the Queen of Hearts in the Japanese-language dub of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, but I can neither confirm nor deny as I have never seen the dub. This is true of the English-language version, however, which includes lines from the original movie such as "Open your mouth a little wider when you speak".
In the official guidebook, we learn from the game’s creator Toboso Yana that her original concept for Riddle Rosehearts was the exact opposite of what the character became. He was originally a spoiled child that hated studying and would break promises and rules without care, but his magic was so strong that he could not be denied. Unsatisfied with this interpretation of the character, she rewrote his personality completely, but there still exist rough drafts of Riddle character designs from that stage of development.
Riddle’s current styling of his uniform is a holdover from the character he was in the game’s earlier stages.
We learn from Vil that NRC house wardens are permitted the freedom to arrange their dorm uniforms as they like. Riddle does not wear high-heels in order to look taller (though he is very much aware that people will assume that of him), and previous house wardens of Heartslabyul have generally worn sneakers, much like the rest of the dorm’s students.
But, Riddle explains, as the Queen of Hearts herself worn them, so will he. In the Halloween event we learn that Riddle’s dorm uniform was based upon that of the first-ever housewarden of Heartslabyul, including the high heeled shoes, in order to serve as an example of the importance of following tradition.
Soon after ascending to the position of Housewarden, Riddle received tips from Vil on how to grow accustomed to walking in them. He says he has come to like the shoes particularly for the sound they make when he walks, as other students will suddenly straighten up when they hear him coming. In a homescreen line, however, he says he doesn’t wear them because he wants to.

Lance's Pack
the guys are all here! but before we jump into specific characters, there’s a bit of necessary background lore for this setting. the following post contains unbalanced human-werewolf dynamics, discussion of captivity, and hazing/abuse (specifically in basil's section), and is at the very least suggestive (their kinks are listed).
.
.
.
modern werewolf culture has been shaped by their proximity to and interactions with humans, to the extent that there are two distinct groups:
->“city wolves” are almost completely integrated into human society, being raised among them, going to school with them and ultimately living in human population centers. while they favor smaller cities with significant green space or undeveloped wilderness nearby, it’s not uncommon to find them in urban areas. pack membership is flexible for city wolves and members will move freely to different packs throughout their lives.
->“wild wolves” are raised in isolated, self-sufficient communities separate from human cities. they’re accustomed to a communal lifestyle and are casual about nudity. they strictly enforce and adhere to territory divisions and often have tense, complicated relationships with neighboring packs. pack membership is a serious commitment and leaving one is not done lightly or without scandal. contrary to popular belief, wild wolves often have contact with humans, though this contact is limited compared to city wolves and usually for the purposes of trade.
->these are broad, flexible categories with a lot of variation. some city wolves live on the outskirts of towns and prefer nature to human company, while some wild wolves become deeply entangled in the lives of humans within their territory. the concept of “border wolves” is often used to describe werewolves who don’t fit neatly into one group or the other, but this is a human term and is not used by wolves themselves.
->for centuries, humans have been brought into packs through invitation or abduction, sometimes as mates and equals, sometimes as subordinates. the role of “pack human” is complex and differs between packs. some packs keep only one, while others may keep several. some are former trade partners who are skilled and valued enough to begin living with the pack, while others are unfortunate, unsuspecting travelers who simply catch a wolf’s eye. the practice of taking pack humans is entirely banned among city wolves who view it as unsavory due to the rampant, unchecked abuse that often occurs, but it remains an important part of wild wolf culture.
lance
->the alpha. wild wolf.
->the son of an alpha, lance was raised in a commune that kept a farm, an orchard, and a woodworking studio where he learned the art from his mother. his birth pack maintained a “market square” within their territory, a place humans were welcome to visit and trade or sell goods with the wolves. lance was exposed to humans much earlier and in much greater numbers than most wild wolves and quickly developed a curiosity for them and their culture.
->despite the pack having a good reputation among the neighboring human populations, they suffered from frequent internal conflict. lance’s father was extremely territorial, hostile to outsiders and actively working to push out every other pack in the area. lance would clash with his father increasingly as he got older, with their arguments becoming more heated and violent. this eventually led to lance’s expulsion from his birth pack, both for his own safety and the safety of his father. he was taken in by his uncle, the alpha of a pack that had previously been forced out of the territory, and remained with his pack until adulthood. he is still in intermittent contact with his mother.
->like his father, lance struggles with a controlling streak, a monstrous temper, and a strong territorial instinct. while he’s made some improvement over the years, his greatest weakness is his tendency to lash out in anger. he often comes across as standoffish or stiff with humans, as he’s familiar with human social norms but unaccustomed to following them, and has to constantly remind himself not to scent or crowd people he comes across.
->extremely possessive and a little delusional. likes dom/sub dynamic, punishment and humiliation. has a kink for being called alpha. will treat you like a dog if you misbehave.
blake
->the beta. city wolf.
->to an outside observer, blake was the quintessential city wolf; civilized, modern and “soft.” despite the ease with which he navigated human and city wolf society, he always felt like an outsider. prone to forming deep attachments very quickly, he struggled with the loose nature of city packs and felt slighted or hurt when other members would leave, no matter the circumstances. he naturally gravitated towards “obsolete” traditions only practiced by wild wolves but kept these interests a secret, fearing ostracization.
->blake’s departure from his pack was surprising but not alarming. there was no particular inciting incident, no major tipping point or cause for concern. one day, he informed his pack, friends and family that he would be leaving for an extended vacation. they were unaware that he was not coming back. blake spent the next few months on the road searching for wild wolves, a difficult endeavor when many do not want to be found and fewer still would welcome an outsider. but this leap of faith would pay off in the end. word spreads surprisingly quickly in the wild and blake was sought out by a small, fledgling pack. the alpha claimed that he needed someone fiercely loyal, someone to hold the pack together and be the voice of reason when the alpha himself struggled to hold his temper. he needed a beta, a role blake realized he’d been chasing his entire life.
->blake is friendly, amicable, and extremely hard to read. growing up as a conflicted city wolf, he knows how to hide his intentions and true feelings, even from wolves who are especially attuned to body language and nonverbal cues. while wild packs are much more stable than city packs in terms of membership, the occasional incident that forces a departure is hard for blake to cope with. he tends to become overbearing and intrusive if there’s been a recent change in pack membership, trying desperately to exert his control and ensure no one else leaves.
->extremely obsessive. prone to stalking, stealing undergarments, masturbating with/on anything that smells like the person he’s interested in. also not the type to make his interest obvious until he’s certain he has his target right where he wants them and they can’t get away.
sully
->the brat. wild wolf.
->orphaned wolves can sometimes flourish in large packs, but the pack must be willing to support them. even by wild pack standards, sully was considered “a handful.” energetic and mischievous, he would often wander dangerously close to the boundaries of his birth pack’s territory, eager to roam and explore. this often got him into trouble, sometimes with neighboring packs whose territory he’d trespass on, and sometimes with his highly territorial birth pack who disliked losing track of him for long periods of time.
->upon reaching adulthood, sully didn’t hesitate to leave. he didn’t resent his birth pack but he didn’t feel particularly attached to them, either, and he knew he needed to find other wolves who felt the same urge to travel. for some time, he simply wandered. his ignorance of human social norms (sometimes genuine, and sometime willful) often caused serious problems. to this day, he has several outstanding warrants for his arrest. sully gradually made his way across the country, staying temporarily with wild packs as long as they were willing to take him in search of somewhere he felt comfortable. he crossed paths with lance’s uncle, who sheltered him for a few years and would eventually introduce him to lance when his nephew started building his own fledgling pack.
->sully is impulsive, rarely going against his whims or instincts. this makes him an invaluable member of the pack who reacts quickly to danger, and a troublemaker who has trouble resisting the urge to enact mischief. it’s not uncommon for him to gain and lose rank within the pack multiple times in a day, depending on what he gets himself into. he becomes restless and irritable when cooped up in one place for too long. while he normally accompanies lance on trips into town, he’s not permitted to go anywhere unsupervised due to previous incidents.
->huge predator/prey kink. likes biting, knotting and being a bastard. will fuck until he’s sore and chafing, and then complain about it.
basil
->the new guy. city wolf.
->growing up, basil was outnumbered by humans. wolves were rare in his hometown, and his birth pack was the only one in the territory. his suburban upbringing was uneventful but somewhat lonely. after shifting involuntarily as a child and frightening several other kids in the neighborhood, he decided to ignore his inner wolf and focus on blending in with his human peers. he went to college and began meeting other wolves for the first time that he began reconsidering his identity, and by then, he was so repressed that he couldn’t shift at will.
->but city wolves, basil learned, can be monstrously cruel to one another. the pack that basil met on campus was welcoming initially, but their attitudes toward him changed as his sheltered upbringing became apparent. he found himself left out of pack events and was often singled out for his inability to shift or his dulled, humanlike senses. desperate to be welcomed, basil endured the harsh and unfair treatment. this eventually culminated in a hazing ritual, in which basil was lured into the woods under the pretenses of a pack vacation, only to be abandoned for several nights with nothing but the clothes on his back to “toughen him up.” he was soon found by the wild pack whose territory he’d been dumped on, a small group who let him stay the night and offered to take him back into town the following morning. having never met or even heard of other wolf cultures, basil’s entire perspective shifted dramatically. he spent most of the night talking to them and learning about a life he never lived, yet felt nostalgic for. when basil got back to campus, he cut ties with his old pack and transitioned to online classes. he needed the flexibility if he was going to find what he wanted, and what he wanted couldn’t be found in the city.
->nervous and eager to please, basil is still finding his footing in the pack. if he isn’t putting on a tough, foul-mouthed persona trying to impress the others, he’s probably hiding out in a quiet part of the commune with his headphones. raised to treat humans with the utmost respect, he’s still uneasy around the pack human and reluctant to interact with them, struggling to reconcile his upbringing with lance’s practices. a computer science major, basil is responsible for convincing lance to have internet installed at the commune and also serves as the pack’s tech support, a position that gives him both great respect and constant stress.
->raging libido. loses control and goes feral when overwhelmed. huge praise kink; tell him how good he is and he’ll melt.
max
->the warden. wild wolf.
->max’s birth pack had a uniquely close relationship with the humans within their rural territory, acting as guardians, peacekeepers, and occasionally search and rescue personnel. old, established packs often have a greater variety of apprenticeships available for young wolves, but max was most interested in the care of pack humans. his pack had several, and from an early age, max was enamored with them. he naturally took to guarding them, chasing and retrieving escapees, and taking care of their day to day needs. while he begrudgingly studied other trades such as leatherworking and mechanical repair, it was clear that he’d already found his passion.
->leaving one’s birth pack upon reaching adulthood is a very difficult, very personal choice for wild wolves. max never imagined himself as the type to leave everything he’d ever known behind, not when he was content with his responsibilities and got along so well with the other pack members. but like many wolves, he found himself feeling as though he’d outgrown the place he’d carved for himself. with his family’s blessing, he reluctantly left and went in search of a pack in need of his skill set. he set out with simple criteria; he wanted a pack that was relatively new, where he could provide the most support. he wanted a pack with many different personalities, something that felt similar to the large patchwork pack he’d grown up in. and most importantly, he needed a pack that was keeping or intended to keep at least one pack human.
->most would unfairly assume at a glance that max is all brawn and no brain. quiet, observant and fiercely territorial, he has the experience and wisdom to know when to wait and when to act. despite his rough exterior, he has a soft spot for animals and is often the first person pack members go to for advice. as one of the first wolves recruited to lance’s pack, he was originally brought in to act as the pack’s beta but voluntarily stepped down in favor of pursuing other responsibilities.
->pretty intense human fetish. has a bit of a fear kink and likes chasing, using restraints, and conditioning. if you run away, max is the one who trains you to associate leaving without permission with pain or discomfort, and he’s going to enjoy it.

The sun was streaming through Kaycee's office window, the patterns of light forming on her desk so familiar they felt like a visitor from an old friend. Closing her eyes, she took a moment to bask in its warmth, relishing the comfort of the familiar while surrounded by so much change.
A knock on the door broke her from her reverie.
"Harper," Kaycee smiled, "come on it."
"I’m glad I caught you. This place looks so….”
“Empty,” Kaycee sighed. “It’s so hard to believe.”
“Yes. It truly is. Any second thoughts? Maybe you can stay. I do have an in with the Chief,” Harper smiled.
“Really, Chief Emery. Now, I think you know my decision is final.”
The two women laughed cordially, but a feeling of poignancy filled the air as Harper took a seat across from Kaycee for the last of their late afternoon chats in Edenbrook.
“And, as much as I hate losing you, I couldn’t be happier that it is. Kaycee, you have created something bigger than yourself! The clinic will be a blessing for the underserved in our community. You should be extremely proud of yourself, and heaven knows we all are.”
“I know, and I am proud and so excited about the things we will be able to accomplish. It’s just,” she let out a deep sigh and swiveled in her chair. “I never realized just how much I would miss this place. In recent days, I feel like my time here has passed before my eyes, and it’s just so hard to believe. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was practically a baby when I first walked through these doors, and now….”
Harper nodded toward a picture frame, the last unpacked item on Kaycee’s desk. “And now, you have a baby of your own.”
“Yes,” Kaycee’s face warmed with pride as she clutched the frame against her chest. “I do… but enough about Ethan.”
Harper broke into a fit of laughter as the man himself entered through the door; a sweet little cherub held his hand and wobbled in at his side.
“When I hear my name followed by Harper cackling, I know no good can be taking place.”
“Oh, it’s all good, Ethan,” Harper assured, readily ignoring him to focus on the little beauty at his side. “Hello, Emma! Come here, give your Aunt Harper a hug.”
“Da-ta-da-ah-da-ta-dah!” Emma sang as she waddled into Harper's waiting arms.
“How does she get more beautiful every time I see her?”
Ethan shot an adoring gaze at his wife, “You’ll have to ask her, Mom. Clearly, it’s her genes and not mine.”
“Of course! No one suggested otherwise, Ethan,” Harper grinned.
“Wow! Suddenly I’m not so sad about Kaycee leaving. At least I’ll just have one of you ribbing me now!”
“Oh, don’t worry!” Harper assured, “Tobias will be more than happy to pick up any slack left behind. Don’t you agree, Kaycee?”
But when Harper swung around, she found her friend and colleague clutching a tissue and peering out the window on the verge of tears. Ethan nodded after he and Harper exchanged a knowing look.
“You know, if it’s OK with the two of you, I’m going to show this little angel off to the nurses. They always love seeing her! Would that be all right?”
“Oh,” Kaycee startled, “yes, of course. Just let me give Emma a little kiss first.”
Kaycee leaned over her desk, and Emma’s chubby little hands tangled in her Mommy’s hair as she lavished her with kisses.
“OK, little miss, let’s go show you off! We’ll be back very soon, Mommy!”
Ethan was already standing behind his wife, his arms lovingly encircling her waist, when Harper closed the door. Kaycee took a deep breath as she leaned back into his embrace, cherishing the reassuring kisses he placed on the top of her head.
“How are you doing, dear,” he whispered.
“It’s really my last day here,” she cried. “I’m leaving.”
“Yes, you are. To do amazing things!”
“I know,” she turned around into his arms to face him, mindlessly toying with his lapel as memories flooded her thoughts. “It’s just, this has been my home.”
“And it always will be. But you’ve done all you can here. The youngest person to ever become a fellow and then a member of the diagnostic team. Creating a specialty diagnostic unit for women and children. Implementing vast improvements to our community clinic until you realized you could do better striking out with that on your own.”
Kaycee smiled when she felt her husband's chest rise, his eyes aglow with utter pride.
“I always knew you were something special, Rookie, but look at you now. It is such an honor to be your husband.”
“Hmm,” Kaycee grinned. “I bet that’s one thing you didn’t expect me to accomplish when we met in that lobby all those years ago.”
“No,” he chuckled, “I most certainly didn’t. But having you as my wife and that beautiful little girl as our daughter, they’re my greatest accomplishments, bar none.”
“I bet you say that to all the girls,” Kaycee teased.
“Yes,” he guffawed. “I tell all my wives and mothers of my children the same thing.”
Ethan sat on the desk and held Kaycee close, sharing one last lingering embrace that neither wished to break.
“Come on,” he finally spoke, “we should go. Have you packed everything?”
“Yes,” she replied. “Everything but that.”
A warm smile spread on Ethan’s face as he lifted the frame from her desk, lovingly staring at the image of their little family. Wrapping it carefully in packing paper, he placed it on top of the small cardboard box on her desk.
“That will always be one of my favorite pictures,” he stated.
“Mine too, and I already have a place set for it in my new office.”
“I knew you would. Think of it, I’ll be staring at my copy, and you’ll be staring at the same picture across town.”
“And Emma has the same picture in her cubby at daycare,” Kaycee reminded him.
“That’s right, just one more thing that unites us until we’re all back home where we belong.”
Kaycee exhaled a cleansing breath. Change was frightening, but she was confident, there was nothing they couldn’t accomplish as long as they had each other. The silence was broken by the soft mewls coming through the door.
“Emma!” Kaycee consoled as her arms reached for her little girl. “What’s wrong, baby?”
“She’s had enough of this place,” Harper insisted. “She’s ready to go see her Mommy’s new office.”
“Is that what it is,” Kaycee smiled. Emma’s tears stopped flowing the moment she was back in her mother’s arms.
“Of course,” Ethan beamed, “That’s where she’s going to spend time, watching her mother accomplish the most incredible things.”
“He’s not wrong,” Harper agreed. “Now, I know you two, and you’ll drag this out needlessly. I’m still your boss for another twenty minutes, so I’m exercising my authority and ordering you out! Ethan – pick up that box and take your family home.”
Harper clutched Kaycee’s arm with a broad smile.
“Your work here is done. You did good! I’ll give you three a few moments alone.”
Bouncing Emma on her hip, Kaycee slowly turned around, taking in her office one last time.
“Well, I guess that’s it. Ready to go home, Ethan?”
Ethan lifted the box and met his wife by the door, placing a soft kiss on her lips, then another on Emma’s forehead.
“I’m ready to leave,” he smiled tenderly, “But I’m already home, Kaycee. I’m with the two of you.”

Since you asked... Another prompt! This one meet-cute style: trivia night at the local bar, Nesta and Cassian both there/on teams with their friends. Because you know Nessian is out here getting competitive
Ohhhhh, yeeeeahhhhhhh!
Is the category perfect? Maybe not...but hey, it's something I know and, honestly, was burned by in a Disney Trivial Pursuit game. 👀
Send me little prompts for Nesta Appreciation Week.
Word Count: 1,173
Nesta was tapping her fingers incessantly as they waited for the instructions now that the final question had been read.
The trivia was a cake walk this week. At least, for her trivia team. No one could beat the Valkyries at Disney Movie trivia. Not with Nesta's memory, Gwyn's musical abilities, and Emerie's love of every spunky female character.
"Okay, that's it! Now switch with another table and we'll start reading out the answers," the announcer explained.
"Do it now, it's your only chance!" she heard someone behind her say, and then suddenly there was a tap on her shoulder.
Turning on her stool, Nesta all but froze as she laid eyes on the most attractive man she'd ever seen. She had to consciously stop her mouth from falling open as she took in the tall, exceptionally muscled physique. His black hair fell in loose, voluminous waves down to his shoulders, and from beneath his very fitted T-shirt, she could see tattooed whorls poking out on both arms.
He gave her a crooked smile that had her blushing, aided by the two-and-a-half glasses of wine she'd already had. "You girls want to switch?"
"Sure," Nesta replied, her voice coming out breathier than intended. "No cheating."
He chuckled as he handed her their paper and took hers. "Wouldn't dream of it, sweetheart."
Before she had the chance to correct him, he was sitting back down at his table with two guys who looked like they could be his cousins. What an absurdly good looking gene pool.
"Tell me you got his name," Gwyn said as the three crowded around the piece of paper.
Nesta grimaced as she sighed, "Sorry. Just their paper."
"Probably for the best...the 'Bat Boys'? What a stupid ass team name," Emerie teased.
"Who cares about their team name? That guy is...shit. They don't make men like that."
"Apparently they do," Nesta argued, pointing at the table behind them.
Emerie and Gwyn looked around and she could see Gwyn practically swooning. Emerie, of course, looked extremely unimpressed.
"Oh." Gwyn was flush just from looking at them. "The shorter haired one, with the hazel eyes...who's he?" she asked dreamily, resting her chin on her hand.
"I also don't know that. But, if you want, you can give him their sheet back."
"DEAL! No takebacks!" Nesta and Emerie cackled at Gwyn's excitement, but shut up as soon as the announcer started again.
Everything was going great. Based on their memory, they'd gotten every question right. The problem, so had the 'Bat Boys'. Unexpected, but Nesta assumed this is what they meant when they said 'don't judge a book by its cover'.
"All right all right! Last one!" the announcer exclaimed. "Who sang 'Go the Distance' on the Hercules soundtrack?"
The girls waited with baited breath, and Nesta couldn't help but smirk. The boys got it wrong...Michael Bolton. What were they thinking?? The answer was clearly-
"Michael Bolton!"
"What?!" Nesta and Gwyn both shouted as the table behind them erupted with cheers.
"That's not right!" Gwyn argued, already standing up.
The man was back again, grinning widely as he brought their sheet. "Tough luck, ladies. Next time, don't make up a name like 'Roger Bart'."
Nesta raised her eyebrows and huffed out an offended sound. "For the record," she rebutted, standing up, "Roger Bart is the guy that did the singing as Hercules. I wouldn't start celebrating too soon. Gwyn, can I have your iPhone - open to Spotify?"
Gwyn obliged, handing her the unlocked phone and staring the announcer down as Nesta grabbed her sheet from the stranger's hands - hopefully giving him a paper cut - and then headed to the announcer.
"Hi, excuse me, but we have a complaint," Nesta said to the redheaded man. A hulking presence remained behind her.
His amber eyes widened at her appearance and he flashed her a smile. "Sorry, sunshine. All answers are final."
"Ha!" the man gloated, but he shrank when Nesta turned her glare on him for a moment.
That felt rather good. She liked scaring a man who was practically twice her size.
"What is with the men in this bar?!" she shouted, turning back to the announcer. "I have a name, you know. I'm not your 'sunshine' or some other guy's 'sweetheart'. I am my own person, and my team got the last answer right." She scrolled to the right playlist, picked the song, and shoved it in his face. "'Go the Distance', Hercules soundtrack, sung by Roger Bart."
He took the phone and looked at it closely. Then played some of the song. "Ah, sorry...own person, since you didn't give me your name. But we asked for the credit 'Go the Distance' singer."
"No you didn't," Nesta corrected. "You said on the soundtrack. This is on the soundtrack. And the main version of the song. You didn't specify credit song."
"Well...yeah, but that's what we meant."
"And I'm supposed to know that how? I'm not a mind reader. We were provided no information to tell us that you meant that song. Our answer is right based on the question you asked."
The announcer ground his teeth as the man behind Nesta stepped in.
"But, you already said all answers are final," he said, practically pleading with the guy.
"That typically means you can't change your answer," she huffed, looking up at him. "Which we didn't, nor are we trying to. Because we don't need to."
The guy looked between the two of them and sighed. "She's right."
The large man tried to protest, but the announcer already had the microphone up to his mouth.
"Everyone, it seems that for the last question there are two answers. You can count it right if you said Michael Bolton or Roger Bart. And then please hand your sheets to me."
Nesta gave a triumphant grin to the tall man as she said, "Care to change my team's score?"
He begrudgingly took the piece of paper and adjusted it to 12 out of 12 before handing it and his own team's to the announcer. "At least my team didn't win on a technicality."
"Don't be mad at me because they asked the question wrong. You'd be making the same argument if the situation were reverse. Own up to it."
The guy flashed her a smirk and asked, "How might I do that, then?"
Nesta thought for a moment, rolling her eyes up and down his body. "I drink Sauvignon Blanc."
"Good to know. How long after I get your drink order do I get your name?"
"You'll have to share yours, first...sweetheart."
"It's Cassian," he chuckled.
"Nesta."
"Nesta," he repeated, as if he were testing it out. It looked as if he liked saying it. She was surprised how much she liked hearing it from him. "Beautiful name."
She couldn't help but smile softly, her cheeks heating again. "Thank you. Oh, and my ginger friend is Gwyn. In case hazel eyes two is interested."
With that, Nesta pivoted and headed back to her friends to celebrate their victory.

On SPN, Burying Your Gays, and Being Heard
I am shaking, I feel sick, I feel like I’m insane. And did I run a little wild with the theories? You bet. But you know what didn’t help? The botched clusterfuck that was this entire goddamn finale debacle. How was I supposed to believe anything they said in panels when M&G dialogue would leak saying the exact opposite? How was I supposed to grieve and move on when there was nothing from the cast and crew? Nobody said anything! And any info leaked just destabilized what we already knew or directly contradicted what we’d been told. In light of that, how was I supposed to trust anything anyone said? One rogue translator reciprocated the love confession and I was practically sold, because there were so many questions surrounding the English text that this was something good, something that logically fit, and something I wanted to hold onto.
Because they hurt me. This is about so much more than one episode or a ship; for years queer fans have seen ourselves in these characters and been told that we were crazy. That we were reading too much into it. I’m not sure how people get upset and offended when a storyline that doesn’t exist... doesn’t exist! said Guy Bee (2013). And then, after all of that, they turned around and said magnanimously, you have your version, I have mine... and that’s okay. But it’s not okay. It’s not okay, because that doesn’t erase what came before - that doesn’t erase the baiting and the gaslighting, and that invalidates everything we felt in the time leading up to that episode. It gave them an open window for all the subtext that came after. It allowed them to brush us off.
And then we got Cas’s love confession. I watched that scene about 500 times. Added to the rest of the season - to the fandom avatar being presented as successful and intelligent, to arc being the death of the author - I felt seen. Really seen, by a show that made it its mission to erase me. I had been okay with Cas dying at first because I had been sure the romance arc would carry through. I had been convinced that after everything, there was no way they would give that to us and then take it away.
But they did, because this is Supernatural. To anyone saying this is not bury your gays, I implore you to read up on the Hays Code. This link is to an amazing queer history podcast and the episode that covers it. In short, the Hays Code was a legal document that came about in 20th Century Hollywood during the puritanical war on the American entertainment industry, and it stipulated what was not allowed on screen. Not all of it was queer - there’s a whole section about kissing - but what the Code is most remembered for is that queerness was not allowed on screen. But queer people are resilient, and so they started testing the waters... and it turned out that you could in fact code queerness into a narrative, as long as it was subtextual, or as long as the queer character died/was punished, or both. The point is that the character is not allowed to live their truth openly. They are buried, either in the ground or punished in the narrative. The former is normally what we refer to these days, because the latter just doesn’t really happen anymore.
Until Supernatural.
Castiel is immediately punished for speaking his truth - and please don’t tell me he leveraged that punishment and so he had agency. Literally the only thing that could make him happy was confessing his feelings, and so the Empty deal was directly related to this idea of queerness-as-punishment. That being said, Bobo wrote a beautiful scene. Cas’s confession was a love letter to queerness and coming out... but everything that came after buried him. Castiel may have ended the series alive but he was effectively written out of the last two episodes, and that means that he actually never really got to live his truth. He was silenced by the narrative - that is punishment.
Dean is a whole other can of worms. Does one rogue translator confirm canon bi!Dean? Or do we have to read our own version of the text? The fact that we even have to ask these questions firmly places us in the realm of queerbaiting. Were the writers trying to get bi!Dean approved but were unable to? I have no idea, but queerbaiting requires proof that the writers encouraged a reading they had no intent of following through on, and we certainly don’t lack in evidence of that. Not from this writers room, but from those of previous eras. Did these writers try? They might have, but the funny thing about queerbaiting discourse is that there has never been a show to bait this long, and I’m making the call that even if you tried at the end, you baited me with half the ship and all the years that came before.
Of course, the narrative leaves open the possibility of bi!Dean so if you do read the show that way, that means Dean also falls into the bury your gays category; if you read the show this way - which many of us do - the mere suggestion that Dean Winchester was bisexual was enough to punish him. And he was punished. We’ve all written extensively on this, but he was given a random death, on a case his father never finished. All that growth, all that time spent having him accept himself, love himself, that was all taken away. He died the way he always thought he would: as a tool, in service of his father, protecting his brother. He had always believed he’d been a body to throw on the sword and in the end that’s all he was. And when he gets to Heaven? He’s also silenced. He barely speaks in the episode except to monologue during his death, and that is 100% Sam-centric. He is scared.
It was horrific to watch. I sobbed so hard my roommate was seriously concerned.
I had been fully prepared for Supernatural to end disappointingly. I had figured everything would end with a huge heaven reunion because white, straight, cis-male S&F writers love the idea of death as a reward, but instead of being disappointed I felt like I had witnessed a slaughter. Every single one of the queer themes intrinsic to the show: found family, resilience, speaking your truth... were gone. And I know we’ve talked about this too, but it bears repeating, because in doing this, in writing the queerness out of its narrative, Supernatural effectively looked every one of us queer folx in the eye and said: you are not important. You don’t matter. All of that stuff that came before is all good and well, but what really matters at the end of all things is blood family. It’s two brothers in a car. Life sucks but at least we get to die and go to paradise - real paradise, that your angel buddy died for and then made for you and who we never hear from again.
I felt insane. I felt cheated. I felt humiliated. I felt devastated. I still feel all those things, but listen to me. You have been heard. Not by Misha Collins, who is a great guy, but doesn’t get it. Not by Jensen Ackles, who is a similarly great guy, but also just doesn’t understand. And not by anyone else who worked on this show.
You know who heard you? Me. The people who follow me. The people who follow you. We saw each other, and heard each other, and we gave each other a leg up. We made memes. We wrote fic. We drew fanart. We made gifs. All for ourselves and all for each other. We broke Tumblr multiple times. We donated over $60,000 USD to multiple different causes. We got multiple hashtags trending at multiple different points, and today kept it up because we demanded answers and then we got them. There were at least 5 articles written about the show today. We made that happen. We made people listen.
Supernatural didn’t deserve me, and it didn’t deserve you. It didn’t deserve Dean. It didn’t deserve Cas. It didn’t deserve Misha and Jensen. But this show ended with a bleak, awful message and we turned around and showed them that love is loud. So what about all of this is real?
We are.

NSFW Tag Game
Roleplay in the boudoir isn't strange. Some of your partners even get costumes. Of course, some of those costumes see more use than others. Now you can't help but get at least a little horny whenever you see someone dressed like that. Who was it that forever changed how you see these ones?
How it works:
Go to “Random.org”.
Click on “Lists & More” and then “Lists Randomised”.
Enter the names of 18+ people/characters.
Use the first 8 to find out who really loves these outfits.
Tagged by @nsfwporty ; idk who to tag sooo if u see this and wanna do it go for it !
A/N: i added another category so I could get all 9 Twice members in lol I hope that’s okay. I also did the same sort of thing as @sinswithpleasure with the lil scenarios jumping between real life and purely roleplaying situations :) also sorry its so long and may sound repetitive.. I haven’t done something like this before TT
Police Officer - Nayeon
“You have the right to remain silent,” Officer Im Nayeon said, as she handcuffed you to the chair. “I already told you everything I know. I don’t know where she went, she knocked me out, took my car and left.” Nayeon slammed her fists on the metal table. She thought for a moment before saying, “Maybe there’s a way to get something we both want. I’ve been seeing you eyeing me ever since I walked in here.” You were confused as to why she’d bring that up, but you couldn’t help it, with a body like that and who doesn’t love a woman in uniform. She stepped out of the room for a moment and came back in with a totally different mood. Nayeon pushed your chair back and lowered herself onto her knees, unzipping your pants and pulling out your cock. Officer Im started to slowly stroke your length with her long, slender fingers, bringing it to stand at full attention. Your wrists were handcuffed behind you and the metal dug into your skin at her touch. Soon she brought her mouth to your tip and began furiously devouring your length.
You watched and moaned as your rod moved in and out of Officer. Im’s wet mouth, “Fuck I need more, Officer.” Your attempt to jerk your hips in tandem with her movements failed when Nayeon completely removed her mouth from you. “You know, you’re not half bad looking and you have a nice big cock. But you’re gonna have to do better than that if you wanna cum. ” She stood up, picked the small handcuff keys from her pocket, jingled them in your face, and walked towards the door laughing to herself. “OK wait! Before she left she may have mentioned a possible place or two she was heading to.” Officer Im stopped with her hand on the doorknob and spun around. “Now, we’re getting somewhere.. Tell me where she is and you’ll be released.. In more ways than one.” She said, returning to the spot on her knees in front of you. She started deep throating you fast, you were impressed at her skills and also a little worried about who could have been watching from the one-way glass, but that soon left your mind when you felt yourself nearing your edge. Nayeon’s tight throat closed around your length and with a few more bobs of her head you were seeing white “Oh fuck! She’s at her old dorm, Officer” You moaned loudly, releasing yourself and painting her throat. After swallowing your load Officer Im stood up, took off your handcuffs, said thank you and left the room without any other word.
Doctor/Nurse - Momo
You’d been sick for about a week with a little head cold and your girlfriend, Momo, was doing all that she could to take care of you, practically acting like your personal nurse. Finally feeling better, you were relaxing in bed when you heard a knock on the door before Momo, dressed in a makeshift nurses outfit strutted in. “It looks like my little Y/N is feeling better! Would you like a lollipop for being such a good patient for Nurse Momo?” You both laughed.‘“No, but I can think of something sweeter that I want right now.”
“And what would that be?”“I need the nurses special medicine to make me feel even better” You said smirking. Momo knew exactly what you meant before walking over to the bed hiking up her skirt and taking a seat on your face. Instantly you licked up her slit and gathered all of her nectar on your tongue. Momo always tasted so sweet. You ate her out, tongue fucking her and she planted her hands on your chest before grinding down on your face. She was a moaning mess and reached down with one hand slipping it under your sweats and began stroking your cock fast. You were both nearing your edge and with a few more licks and sucks at her clit she released her juices all over your face, at the same time you let go and let yourself erupt all over her hand and your stomach. “Maybe you should be sick more and I could be a nurse more often.”
Maid/Butler - Tzuyu
“Your dinner is ready, Sir”, “Thank you Ms. Chou.”
You sat at the small dining table looking out at the nighttime Seoul skyline from your apartment. Both you and Tzuyu liked the idea of one day living a lavish, wealthy lifestyle, and some nights you decided to roleplay around that idea. Tzuyu stood next to you in a classic maids outfit. “Ms. Chou, actually I think I’d like to start with dessert.” “And what would you like, sir?” You quickly got up from your seat and grabbed her waist pulling her in for a passionate kiss. “You”
Without wasting any time you picked her up and sat her onto the dining table with her long legs, hanging over the edge. You licked your lips as you pulled off Tzuyu’s panties, like unwrapping a piece of candy. Making your way to her center, you planted kisses up her thighs and pushed her skirt up. “Your desert is ready and waiting, Sir” she said, breathily.
You instantly tore into the delicacy before you, hooking your arms under her legs and around her hips to pull her body closer to you. Tzuyu was always sweet, but in her maid fit, she seemed even sweeter. It was like eating the finest fruit tart from a Michelin star restaurant. “Ms. Chou you taste so good” You say between licks. You sucked at her clit and lapped up her juices. She moaned and grabbed handfuls of your hair, pulling your head further into her. You began tongue fucking her, “Oh Sir, right there, that feels so good oh f-fuck im gonna cum, Sir” Within seconds of sucking and licking she squirted all over your face. You drank up as much as you could, some dripping from your chin when she finally released your head from her thighs. “Mmm, Ms. Chou, you’re the best desert on the menu.”
Fairytale Character - Sana
Sana was always a fan of playing dress up, especially in the bedroom. She came out of the bathroom in a short, tight green skirt with a purple bikini top on, her red-orange hair completing the look. “It looks like Ariel finally got her legs” You laughed. “Now all I need is my Prince Eric for a true love's kiss” She said, smiling and sauntering over to you. Sana blew you a kiss and you playfully acted along catching it and putting it to your lips. “Come here, then Ariel, I can give you a lot more than a true love’s kiss.” You pulled her in for a kiss as she sat on top of you. Your lips danced together while your tongues fought a fierce battle.
Before you knew it clothes were off, and Sana was on top of you bouncing up and down on your cock. The sound of skin slapping skin rang out through your room. Your cock slid in and out of her hole easily, it was practically drowning with how wet she was. “Oh fuck, I’m so close princess” You groaned, your swollen length pulsating inside of her. “Me too!” she said bouncing harder and faster, your hips matching her rhythm.
Suddenly Sana leaned forward, “I want my true love to kiss me while I cum all over his big cock” The second she said that and her perfect lips met yours, you both reached your edges, moaning into each other's mouths and riding out your orgasms.
CEO/Boss - Jihyo
Being the CEO’s secretary had its perks, sure the rest of the office made fun of you for practically being Park Jihyo’s pet, being at her every beck and call, but there was a damn good reason for it. Park Jihyo wasn’t known for just being a great boss, but with a body and a mind like hers, anyone would gladly take the same position as you. It was a Friday night and you were both staying late to finish preparing for a board meeting next Monday. “Do you have all the copies ready Y/N?” “Yes, they’re all on the conference table, the bottles of water and pens are also ready.”
“Always one step ahead, that’s what I love about you.” You had to admit you’d be lying if you said you’d never fantasized about taking your boss, especially when she showed up looking the way she did. Jihyo sat at her desk chair and swing her feet onto the desk, “Ugh this week has been so stressful, thank God we have a weekend coming up”
“Ma’am.. I hate to remind you, but you have a schedule for both days of that said weekend”, “Fuck… I can’t even have a moment to relax or get a massage.. I don’t remember the last time I had one.” You don’t know where your confidence came from but you sprung out of your seat and stood next to her, “I think I could help with that, boss” You said, snaking your hands onto her shoulders. Jihyo seemed to relax under your touch as you rubbed your fingers into her tight muscles, “Oh yeah that’s good, right there” She said, practically moaning, as you kneaded a knot in her shoulder. You could feel the warmth build up in your groin as your member came to life hearing her. “Fuck it.” it was like you blinked and there you were standing behind your boss who was laid against her own desk, her jacket and bra discarded, her pants and underwear pulled down to her ankles and her heels still on. Similarly your shirt was also gone and your pants were pulled down, your thick cock running between your bosses ass cheeks. “Don’t just stand there, Y/N, fuck me already.” “Yes, ma’am” you said, plunging yourself into her warm depths, she was suffocatingly tight and wet. You took a few slow thrusts at first then, “Harder, you little shit. I’m not paying you overtime if you aren’t putting in the work.” You’ve never seen Jihyo like this, but quite frankly you liked it. Both of you were relieving built up stress and you were happily pounding into her. You pulled her hair so her back was flat against your chest and you ran your hand around to grab at her tits. Massaging her tit and pinching at her nipple drove her over the edge and you had to hold her up as her legs buckled. Jihyo’s pussy pulsated and you erupted inside of your boss, her walls milking your worn out cock. The two of you fell onto the desk, “Shit, boss that felt so fucking good.” “It looks like we might have to do this more often, baby.”
Devil/Angel - Dahyun
It was Halloween, you and your girlfriend, Dahyun, were at a friend's party. She insisted you dress up in a couples costume, but didn’t plan on looking for one until the very last minute, of course the only one left at the story was the devil and angel. Dahyun kept bumping her wings into everyone while you both danced but you couldn’t keep your eyes off of her. The white dress fit her well and there was something about the whole getup with you as a devil and her as an angel that was slowly turning you on. You grabbed her hand and brought her to the bathroom and lifted her onto the sink. She was about to take off the wings and halo, but you stopped her. “Keep them on. I wanna fuck my little angel.” Dahyun moaned at your words as you pierced her to the hilt with your length. “Oh God, yes” She moaned, throwing her head back and wrapping her creamy legs around your waist. Her heavenly pussy squeezed against your cock, her arms around your neck and gripping onto the plastic horns that adorned your head. The whole situation was sinful even if only halloween costumes. An angel being fucked by the devil, red and white flashes of movements, sounds of skin slapping skin. Dahyun was usually a conservative and quiet girl when it came to sex, but it seemed this situation also had a major effect on her. She was a moaning, mewling mess underneath you while you pounded into her. “I’m gonna.. Gonna cum” barely a whisper in your ear. “Cum for me, angel.” Dahyun’s body shook and convulsed with pleasure as she reached her peak. You held on to her and slowed your thrusts as she rode out her orgasm on your cock. You were close too and Dahyun knew it. She recovered and hopped off the sink, getting on her knees in front of you. She pumped your cock mercilessly, twisting and gripping it, massaging your aching balls until you erupted and painted her face. Spurts of cum shot out and marked her angelic face.
Athlete Coach - Mina
It was a normal day at the gym for you, you were a seasoned gymnast and had daily practices in prep for the Olympic Qualifiers coming up. When you got into the gym there was a group of girls also “practicing?” Although it wasn’t normal gymnastics, but rhythmic gymnastics. Gymnastics that also involved hoops, balls, and dance. You didn’t think much of it and went to the uneven bars to warm up. You lifted yourself up and from the peak of your pull up, someone caught your eye. The main dancer, it seemed, was standing in the middle of the other girls. She was wearing a black shimmery outfit demonstrating some move with the hoop above her head. She was elegant and seemed to know exactly what she was doing with every move of her body. After your practice you went over to find her. She was practicing alone in one of the dance rooms, “Hi, I’m Y/N I’m one of the gymnasts here, I haven’t seen you here before.. But your routine was really good!”
She shyly smiled and looked back at you, “Hi Y/N, my name is Mina, Myoi Mina. I’m actually a ballet dancer, but the girls asked for my advice on their routine so I’ve been helping them prepare for the tournament. Im glad you like it. I liked your routine as well, you sure know how to catch a girl's attention with all of those flips and such.” You laughed nervously, thinking maybe it was too obvious, but regardless you did catch her a few times staring at you too. “Haha yeah your moves were cool too, I don’t even think I’m that flexible enough to pull that off.” Mina took her chance with that. “Here let me show you.” She brought her leg straight up doing a split in the air, you gulped and your eyes trailed her body. “Holy shit” You said under your breath. She wasn’t wearing any panties… “Are you just gonna look or are you gonna help me, help you. I’ll teach you what you need to know about flexibility.”
Soon you were full on fucking in the empty dance studio, watching yourself in the floor to ceiling length mirrors as Mina showed off just how flexible she was. First you pounded her standing up with her leg straight in the air over your shoulder, next you had your way with her up against the mirror, her legs wrapped around your waist, contorting her body in all sorts of way to bring you both pleasure.. Mina kept surprising you with positions, downward dog with her back deliciously arched, on her back with her legs pulled up against her torso. She came a handful of times but was adamant about you finishing in what she thought was the perfect position. Mina returned to her standing position with her leg above her head, she loved watching herself in the mirror and she loved it even more to see herself getting pounded into. You grabbed her hips and pushed her against the mirror, her juices were already dripping down her legs from her splayed lips.”Cum inside me, I want to feel you inside of me while I dance.” You were sent over the edge and released your seed deep inside of the gorgeous dance teacher.
TV Show/Anime Character - Jeongyeon
You and Jeongyeon had just finished watching the kdrama Mine and she had gotten pretty into the characters and particularly their style. Mine was about these women who are in the process of finding themselves and their own loves, however, the part that captured Jeongyeon’s interest was their lavish chaebol lifestyle. Of course it caught your interest too, the idea of being able to wear fancy clothes and drive a nice car with a mansion was always a fantasy. One night you both decided to test drive this fantasy for yourselves. You both got dressed in what was about the fanciest attire you had in your quaint apartment and went out for a dinner date. You had dinner at a nice steak restaurant where you had to make a reservation in advance and even have your car valeted. Dinner was amazing, considering the price, but it was worth it.
The drive home is when things began to heat up. It was about a 30 minute drive, feeling bold after some wine, you slid your hand over the gear shift to rest on Jeongyeon’s thigh. “That was a wonderful dinner, wasn’t it Ms. Yoo?” “Yes, it was, I say we go back to the Cadenza [a house name from Mine] and have some fun.” You slowly moved your hand up to just rest over her covered center. She held her breath as she grabbed your hand and pushed it towards her. You rubbed her through her panties and she did the same to you, stroking your covered length to life. “I don’t know if we’ll even make it home.” You said, taking a turn and drove to a secluded lookout point the two of you used to frequent in your younger days of dating. “I bet even the fancy and rich decide to get down and dirty sometimes” She said, while you hopped into the backseat. Jeongyeon pulled off her panties before climbing to the back and straddling you.
You pulled down your pants and let your erection spring free, until Jeongyeon lowered herself to the hilt. “You better not get any of your filthy cum on this dress. It’s expensive.” She said, pointing a finger at where your bodies were connected. “Don’t worry it’s expensive too and it’s not going anywhere but inside of you.” You said, grabbing her hips and starting to thrust up into her. She started bouncing on top of you and you both became moaning messes, erratically slamming your bodies together in the small space of the car. “Fuck I’m close” Jeongyeon moaned, “Me too” You replied, between thrusts. As your cock slipped in and out of her, you shifted your position ever so slightly and started hitting her g-spot exactly on point. “FUCK! Right there!” Jeongyeon’s orgasm caught her off guard as her movements slowed and her pussy pulsed around your cock, “Cum with me, baby.” On cue, you came pushing your dick as far as it could go inside of her, her pussy clamped shut around it milking you and not letting anything escape. As you rode out your orgasms she leaned into your ear and said, “You’re Mine.”
Waitress/Waiter - Chaeyoung
“Here’s your usual Y/N!” Chaeyoung smiled as she placed the plate of chicken and waffles and a cup of coffee in front of you. You were a regular at this diner near your house and for as long as you can remember, Chaeyoung had also been working there and serving you. She had this certain vibe to her that was different from anyone else in the town, from changing her hair color with the seasons, to having the most unique and fashionable outfits. The two of you had known each other for so long and you had a special relationship, one could call it something like a friends with benefits type deal. You finished your meal and Chaeyoung came with the bill. “You want the regular tip or the special tip today, Chae?” “The special.” She said, smirking. She told her coworker she was going on break and went into the storage room. You followed her a minute later. Chaeyoung was significantly smaller than you, but she was still able to push you and pin you up against the door crashing your lips together. “We gotta make this fast before the boss comes back.” You swiftly unbuckled your pants and picked her up.
The only perks of having to wear a uniform for the job was that the uniform was only a short skirt. She moved her panties over to the side and you ran your tip through her slit. “Mmm fuck, you’re already so wet Chae.” Before she could answer you slipped inside of her and started pumping in and out of her warm cunt. It wasn’t the first time fucking in the storage room, nor would it be the last, but every time it was exhilarating. The threat of getting caught, of people hearing, knocking over stock shelves or brooms, made it even hotter than it was. That’s what Chaeyoung was, a daredevil, she pushed the limits. She certainly was no stranger to pushing you to your own limits, “Cum inside me Y/N, I want it. Tip me good, maybe even some extra for special service. Fuck, you’re so deep.” Her words sent shivers down your spine and your knees almost buckled as you came and painted her deepest insides with your seed. She loved being filled, the sensation of thick spurt after spurt being let out inside of her sent her over the edge too. Chaeyoung came, clinging onto you, digging her nails into your back. You let her down once you both recovered and cleaned up. “I think that tip will last me at least the rest of the week… Come back soon!” She waved before straightening her skirt and leaving the room.
