âIâm going out!â Jisung slung his bag behind his back, heading towards the front door. You, sitting on the couch with your head in your phone, give him a quick mhm before he went on his way. You didnât know where he was going, and frankly, you didnât care. Jisung out of the house gave you the chance to invite Changbin over, assuming they werenât hanging out.
You havenât seen Changbin in two days, but the two of you have been texting nonstop, mostly at night when you were both tired and horny. Changbin hasnât seen Jisung since he almost caught you, but theyâve been texting with Chan in their group chat. Unfortunately, thatâs about it. Jisung was making his space away from Changbin.Â
Hey, wanna come over? My brother left
You wait a minute. Then a minute turns into 30, and 30 turns into 60. You start to regret sending the text considering he isnât replying. Youâve given up hope before you hear your phone ring: Itâs a call from Changbin.
âHey!â You answer way too eagerly, probably freaking him out. âWhatâs up, Binnie?âÂ
As much as he loves when you call him Binnie, now was not the time for his heart to flutter.
âY/n, can I still come over?â You had no clue why he had to call you for that, but regardless, you obviously said yes. âWe need to talk, for real this time.â
đđ°đ¤đđđŻ
Jisung couldnât look at you. He was repulsed by our actions to the point where he would cringe whenever he heard your voice, because he knew your mouth belonged to his best friend. He didnât want to think about it, and he needed to get his mind off of it. Since he clearly couldnât hang out with Changbin, he called his next best friend, Chan.Â
âHey, Chan!â Jisung sounded happy though the phone, although heâd just been pounding his fists into his steering wheel out of anger moments ago. âCan we hang out in the studio? I need to let off some steam.â
It was about a month ago at a stupid house party. Chan was DJing while Jisung and Changbin were off partying, and he was doing a damn good job if he had to say so himself. Of course, just like every party, when the noise died down and people started to leave, Chan was dragged into a random drinking circle with several strangers, but most importantly, his best friend Jisung, although Chan would never call him that infront of him, because he knew Jisung and Changbin were closer than Chan and Jisung could ever be. Chan let the music run a random playlist of his while he sat, casually drinking and chatting before the game started.Â
Never Have I Ever: Ten fingers up, and if youâve done it, put a finger down. Go around in a circle until someone, probably the most innocent out of the group, has won. It always goes wrong for Chan, though.Â
âNever have I everâŚâ a random girl looked around the circle, pausing to ponder what sheâs never done, âhad a crush on someone of the same sex.âÂ
Most of the girls put a finger down, and the guys awkwardly looked back and forth until Chan slipped his pinky finger down. He couldnât tell a lie, but he didnât want to admit that he had conflicting feelings for other men, let alone his best friend.
The circle went quiet as they stared at Chan, eyes unmoving. In Chanâs head, it felt like the world was imploding around him and at any moment he could combust, but the game simply went on. No questions were asked, and they moved on. When it got around to Jisung, his galaxy brain sparked and he knew a way to get all the girls out with one hit.
âNever have I ever fucked a man.â A simple command, and all but one of the girls put down one of their fingers. Jisung didnât know it, but he lit a fuse that led directly to Chan, and if he wasnât careful, Chan was going to be set off.Â
Chan didnât put a finger down for that, and he didnât have to, but the idea of Chan being the man that got to make Jisung put his finger down was bubbling in his brain. It had been for months, but now that he heard the words come out of Jisungâs mouth, it felt real. It felt right there. At an armâs reach, Chan could propose the idea to Jisung and end this party with a bang (quite literally.) Ever polite, Chan stayed quiet, remaining in his spot, letting the night go on without a hitch.Â
There was no way Jisung could know.
Being invited to the studio to be with Jisung was nothing new. Theyâd worked on tracks alone before, but Chan always had to leave early, his thoughts getting the best of him as he ran to his car to jerk off in an empty parking lot before driving home to go through the motions again. There was no chance of Chan getting together with Jisung.
âSure! Iâll be down in a few.â Chan sighed, going to collect his things and head to the studio.
âIt wonât be long! I just need to talk for a minute.âÂ
Talk? Talk about what? Music? Friendship? Did another girl break his heart? Was he still going on about Changbin and his sister?
Chan had no idea. He just wanted to hear Jisungâs voice.Â
At the studio, Jisung got there before Chan. He sat patiently, hands folded in his lap, going over what he wanted to say. He had practiced his speech for Chan in his head, in the mirror, in his car, and even in his phone notes, but nothing could prepare him for actually facing Chan.Â
As if on cue, Chan walked in right as Jisung finished his mental monologue. A quick wave sufficed as a greeting, but before Chan could take his laptop out, Jisung told Chan to sit down and listen.
âThis is going to sound crazy, but hear me out.â Jisung always sounded crazy, but Chan just nodded. âIf youâre all caught up, you should know that Changbin is fucking my sister.â Again, a gentle nod. âObviously, I donât fucking like that, so I want to get back at him!â
âAnd what?â Chan laughs, rolling his eyes at the younger. âFuck his sister?â
âNo way! Sheâs way too out of my league.â He was only partially true. âIâm going to fuck the one person he cares about more than his family.â
âSo, youâre gonna fuck yourself?â Chan was genuinely confused. He had no clue where Jisung was going with this insane plan, but as his brain slowly put the pieces together, his eyes got more wide. Jisung noticed his flushed expression and began to shake, scared of what was going on in Chanâs head.
âChan, if itâs okay with yo-â
âYes.â Chan placed both of his hands on Jisungâs knees, leaning forward to get closer to Jisungâs face. His features looked so detailed and pretty. Theyâve never been this close before. Chanâs heart was beating out of his chest while Jisungâs heart was racing for another reason. Neither of them knew what to do.
âYouâve been waiting for this, havenât you?â Jisungâs voice wavered as he asked the question. His eyes were glowing with the realization that Chan had some sort of sexual or romantic feeling for him. Chan cupped Jisungâs cheek, petting him before nodding in approval.Â
âWhat made you think of this plan?â Chanâs eyes left Jisungâs and wondered to his lips, cute and plump. Jisung had a slight pout, and it made Chan just that much harder.Â
âIâŚâ Jisung trailed off, looking to a corner of the quiet studio. âI didnât think much about it before, but to get back at Changbin, I want to fuck someone close to him, and youâre the only person I could think of.â
âI didnât know you liked guys.â Chan admitted, leaning even closer and making Jisung sweat. He could feel Chanâs breath on his face, and just his presence was intoxicating.
âI didnât know either,â Jisung paused, âbut the more I thought about youâŚâ
âYou donât have to explain yourself.â Chanâs hands crept up Jisungâs thighs, sliding up to his hips and pulling Jisung onto his lap. âJust let me make you feel good, baby boy.â
Whenever Jisung would describe his sex life, he was always on top: railing women and never looking back. He always depicted himself as being in control, but right now Jisung had no control. He was at the will of Christopher Bang, and Chan knew all too well what he wanted to do to the poor boy.Â
đđ°đ¤đđđŻ
Changbin yawned as he rounded the corner, heading towards the 3Racha studio where he assumed he would be alone. As he approached, he noticed the blinds on the door were down although they always left them up. Thatâs weird, he thought, taking hold of the door knob before being stopped by the lock.
There was a commotion inside. It sounded like scrambling, things hitting the ground and other things being swept up. He thought it was just Jisung throwing a tantrum and wrecking the place, which would be a little funny, but a minute passed before the door swung open, revealing a disheveled Chan welcoming him in and a lazed Jisung, sprawled out on the couch, equally disheveled and a little sleepy.Â
âWhat-â Changbin looked around the room. The desk with the expensive equipment was safe, but one of the swivel chairs was pushed over and the pillows from the couch were on the floor.Â
âHey, Bin! We were just working on something!â Chan was glowing, a smile wide across his face. Looking at the black computer screen, Changbin inhaled the scent of the room.Â
âIt smells like balls in here, what the fuck were you two doing?â Changbin takes a step in, not taking off his bag, because honestly, he wanted to leave.
âWorking.â Jisungâs voice was hoarse, and he quickly coughed to reverse the effects of having a cock down his throat minutes before. âWe were making a new track.â
âOh, really?â Changbin rolls his eyes and looks at his phone. He hadnât noticed before, but you texted him.Â
âWhat is it? A text from my sister?â Jisung began sulking, all the memories of the past couple days returning to his fuzzy post-sex brain.Â
Changbin stopped. He had never fully admitted his involvement with you to Jisung, and considering he totally just got railed by the only other person Changbin trusted, he thought this was the time.
âYeah, actually.â Changbin smirked, raising his brows and Jisung. Chanâs jaw dropped as if he didnât know what was going on. Jisungâs face went red with anger, and before he could stand up and yell up a storm, Changbin turned around to head out. âShe said her brother isnât home. I should go take advantage of that, right Jisung?â
âYou fucker-â
âOh, and your sister gives great head. Maybe it runs in the family.â Changbin shoots a look at Chan before slamming the door shut behind him and heading back to his car.
đđ°đ¤đđđŻ
You sat in the living room, waiting to hear Changbin knocking at your front door. You were terrified that he was going to try to break your relationship like last time, but it seems like he was content judging from texts. Maybe he just wanted to talk, or maybe he wanted to break your heart. No matter what, you wanted him here.Â
Three knocks at the door startled you out of your daze. You welcomed Changbin inside and you sat on your couch with him. This was the first time Changbin was sitting with you instead of Jisung, and it felt strange and familiar at the same time. Changbinâs heart was racing, and you felt the awkward tension as Changbin looked around, refusing to look at you.Â
You placed your hand on his thigh, bringing his attention to you. âYou said you wanted to talk?â
âYeah.â Changbin gulped, unsure of how to bring this up. âSo, I told Jisung a few things, and he fully knows that weâve beenâŚâÂ
âOh?â You blush, afraid of what your brother was going to say to you and if heâd ever be able to look you in the eyes again. âWas he okay?â
âI didnât give him much time to respond, but it looked like he was pretty pissed.â Changbin chuckles, and you do the same. A silence fell over the room as Changbin prepared what he was going to say next. He didnât want to out his brother to his sister, especially if it was all a misunderstanding and Changbin just walked into the studio when it coincidentally smelled like balls. He just folded his hands and leaned back into the couch, resting the back of his head on the back. âWhat are we?â
His question hit you like a brick wall, because you didnât have an answer. Youâve been an ace in all your classes and yet you couldnât answer this simple question. You bit your bottom lip in concentration, replaying every conversation and moment you two had shared since the night Changbin so rudely barged in on your wanking session.Â
âDo you want to be anything more than fuck buddies?â Changbin reenters the silence with another headsplitting question. Youâve always wanted to be the girlfriend of Seo Changbin, but now you are clamming up. Did you want to be his girlfriend, or was it all fantasy?
âI want to be with you, Changbin.â Your eyes met each otherâs for the first time, and it felt heavy, as if the air got thicker just by meeting the otherâs gaze. âI donât know if that means I want to be your girlfriend, but I just know I want to be with you.âÂ
âAlright.â Changbin nodded, leaning closer to you. âLetâs forget labels for now.â He catches your lips in a kiss, holding your chin in one hand while your arms wrap around his neck, pulling your body towards his. He pulls away, breathless and calm. âI want to be with you, too.â
The next kiss is sweet enough to give you a cavity. Itâs warm and inviting. No tongue, just lips on lips, appreciating the taste of the other.Â
Regardless of what your brother thought, you were content in staying with Changbin. No amount of family disapproval or shunning could stop you from being with Changbin. It was as if your world had begun to revolve around Changbin. He took real estate in your mind every day and night, consistently keeping you awake for hours on end from your heart beating too fast at the thought of seeing him again.Â
Changbin didnât notice, but he had grown feelings for you. Before the first time you were together, you were nothing but a hot girl he thought about when he jerked off, but it quickly became more than that. He was infatuated with your existence. If you thought about him 24/7, he thought about you 25/8. Heâs been with many girls before, but never one like you. No one made him feel like his world could fall apart at the removal of their presence like you. You were precious to Changbin, and he wanted to make you his and his alone.Â
You were sitting in his lap, legs spread around his hips and you grinded into each other, feeling each other up like it was the last time you were going to be together. His hands cupped your breasts, kneading you through your shirt and bra, while your hands rested on his thick arms, holding on like you were about to drown. Everything felt rushed while simultaneously being drawn out. You were both so desperate for the other that you didnât even care about the clothes in your way.Â
No matter how much stamina Changbin had regularly, whenever he was with you, it always felt like he could pop at any moment and make a fool of himself. He loved your body so much, it was absurd. When your hands circled his nipples and gently pulled at the nubs, he felt his cock twitch in his pants.Â
âI need to be inside you right now, princess.â You loved when he called you that, and even more, you loved when he showed how needy he was for you. He stood up with you, kissing your face all over before meeting your lips in a deep kiss. You felt so overwhelmingly heated, and when Changbinâs bulge brushed against you, you couldnât help but let out a choked moan into the kiss.
He pulls away and pulls your shirt over your head, throwing it somewhere behind him to bring attention to your chest. Heâs quick to remove your bra and properly worship your tits like heâs been wanting to do. He kisses down from your lips to your chest, attaching his lips around one of your nipples, but not before leaving a bright red hickey to form on your neck. His tongue flicked against your sensitive nub while his free hand gently twisted your other. Your legs were getting weaker by the second, and you couldnât help but have moans escape your lips. His hand that wasnât playing with your tits snaked around your body, holding up you by the waist. Unfortunately, he didnât want to be bent down forever.
He stood up, slightly towering over you. His hands snapped to your hips and pulled your pants down, exposing your pretty lace panties. Changbin licked his lips at the sight, taking it all in for a moment. You felt his eyes gracing over your body, and you shivered from the intense look in his eyes. You were already dripping wet from his touches, and Changbin could sense that you were as needy as he was.
âLetâs go up to your room, baby.â Changbin took your hand and turned around, heading towards the stairwell. âWe donât want your brother coming home and finding us here.â
You headed up to your room, not bothering to pick up your clothes from downstairs. It wasnât until you were in your room, laid back under Changbin that you realized he was still entirely dressed while you were only in your underwear.
âChangbinnie,â he lifted his head from your neck, arching an eyebrow at you, âlet me see your body. I want to see you.âÂ
âAnything for my girl.â
My girl. Wow, you were his girl. His girl, all for him to use like a little cumrag. You were so high strung, and it felt like the only two people in the world were you and Changbin. He leans up, taking off his shirt and pulling down his pants, letting you see the impressive bulge in his boxers. You could practically feel his cock inside you just from seeing the outline. The whine you release is pathetic, and it makes Changbin laugh at your desperate state, but it also made him want you more.
He pressed his bulge against your cunt, dry humping you and feeling your wetness transfer to his boxers. You looked so hot while squirming under him. âBeg for it, baby. What do you want me to do?âÂ
âCh-Changbin,â you slurred your words, already going dumb from a few teasing touches. You felt so small under him. Not physically small, but mentally small. He could form a full sentence and you could hardly think straight. âPlease fuck me, please~â
He pulled your panties down your legs, tossing them to the floor. His cock popped out of his boxers as he pulled them down, finally being free. He pressed his tip against your clit, circling it and feeling your hips jolt.
âMore, Y/n. Beg more.â Changbinâs brain was starting to get fuzzy too. His tip was so angry and red. You whined at the friction of the tip of his cock going through your folds. You wanted him inside you so bad, but you couldnât articulate any of your very few thoughts. All you could do was whine.Â
âP-please.â Your breathing was heavy. Without another word, you lifted your hips into his cock, hoping he understands your message, which he fully does, and as much as he wants to fuck you brainless, he also wants to hear you.
âCmon, doll. You got this.â He holds your hips down and thrusts his cock through your folds without ever entering you. âBeg for my cock.â
You practically scream, âplease fuck me, Changbin! I need your cock! I want to cum so bad for you, please.â You lose yourself at the end, unable to think any sort of coherent thought. Luckily, you didnât need to speak anymore. Changbin was satisfied.Â
He lined up with your entrance and pushed in, going about half way before stopping and making sure you were okay. The stretch was painful again, but it felt so good. You loved being filled by his cock, especially since it dragged across your walls so perfectly. When he finally bottoms out, he waits for you to slightly return to your senses. Your breathing begins to even as you grow comfortable with Changbin inside you.Â
âReady for me to move?â Your nodding is frantic, and your eagerness only eggs him on. He nearly pulls entirely out of you before pushing back in with one strong thrust, feeling somehow deeper than he was before. It felt like a new feeling. It felt different. He felt closer, warmer, better, but you couldnât figure out why.
No condom. Changbin knew he didnât put protection on, and he didnât want to. He wanted to feel you around him. His stamina was good enough to make you cum plenty before he needed to pull out. He loved the way you felt with the condom on, and without, you felt a thousand times better. Fuck, maybe he wasnât going to last as long as he thought.
His thrusts sped up, and he held himself closer inside you, hardly pulling out before plunging back in. The sound of skin slapping filled the room as Changbin leaned down to kiss you. Your tongues swirled together, and he ate up all your pretty moans of his name.Â
Your tight cunt hugged his shaft so well, and the way his tip prodded at your g-spot made your head spin. His lips on yours kept you grounded, you passionately kissing back regardless of your breathlessness. His hands cup your tits, playing with your nipples with his thumb and forefinger. Even though you hadnât been together too long, he knew just how to make your body feel best. He was an expert at everything he did, and fucking you was no exception.Â
âBin, âm close.â You spoke against his lips, him humming in response. His thrusts were rough, drilling you into the mattress. His groans sounded so hot, you never wanted them to end. He was right next to your ear, praising you and telling you how tight you were.Â
âAh, turn over, princess.â Changbin pulled out and patted your thigh, promoting you to push your face into your pillows and put your ass up. The view was beautiful, but now was no time to admire your body. Changbin needed to be inside you again.
His abrupt re-entrance made you moan loudly while his cock stretched you again. His thrusts were even faster and deeper than before, and your orgasm soon returned to the edge. The bed was creaking loudly, and the headboard pounded into the wall.Â
In a flash, your head was pulled up by your hair. Changbin had your hair around his fist, pulling you violently out of the pillows and onto your hands. Your mouth hung open as he continued to violate your hole, brushing past your sensitive walls and pounding into your g-spot with every trust. His groans got louder and his pace began to fray.Â
âCum on my cock, Y/n.â His voice was hoarse and demanding, as if he was about to bust inside you at any moment. âLet Binnie feel you cum, sweetheart.â
âAh~ Bin!â You felt the knot in your stomach tighten, threatening to snap. Your mind was so foggy, and all you could think of was Changbinâs amazing cock and the way he was railing you so well. âChangbin, so goodâŚâ
âYeah, baby?â He pursues you, egging you on to say more. âWhatâs good?â
âYour cock! Your cock is- ah!â Youâre screaming at this point, begging that your orgasm washes over your fucked out body soon. Changbin pushes you back down into your pillow, muffling your moans until you can turn your head and breath again.
You bite down on your lip hard enough to bleed before your mouth goes agape, slurring every curse word you could think of as your orgasm hit you like a metal bat. Your cunt began convulsing, making it harder and harder for Changbin to keep from cumming inside your hot pussy. He looked down at where you two were connected and saw the abundance of your creamy release coat his cock thicker than before. Your hands squeezed the sheets as you began to become overstimulated, your body becoming sore fast.Â
âChangbin, it-â Youâre still breathing heavily, thoughts slowly coming back to you. âIt hurts.â
âAh, princess,â Changbin pulls out, stroking himself intensely before cumming on your ass and your back. âFuck, you felt too good.â
đđ°đ¤đđđŻ
Jisung leads Chan into your house, holding his hand just to guide him upstairs. Before he can even put a foot on the bottom step, he sees your bra on the floor. He isnât entirely sure that itâs yours, but he knows it canât be anyone elseâs. Chanâs ears perk up at the lewd sounds coming from upstairs, and Jisung soon notices too.
âWe could go to my place-â
âNo!â Jisung interrupts Chan just loud enough for it to be jarring. âThey wonât mind a little more noise.â

my brown-haired boy (3)
Summary: Reader has to navigate the difficult reality of having a crush on Spencer and trying to raise a kid with him. 6.5k words
A/N: This is it! Thank you so much for the support on the previous 2 parts and I really hope you guys enjoy this last part.
Warnings: explicit discussions of sex, angst, curse words, alcohol consumption.
part 1 | part 2Â
-
The first time Spencer asked you if Max could stay with him for the weekend, you nearly passed out on the spot.
âY/N?â Spencer asked.
You blinked. There was no reason for him not to be able to, right? So why the hell did it make you so nervous?
âUm⌠yes,â you said hesitantly.
Spencer eyed you warily.
âAre you sure?â
You exhaled sharply, nodded, and said, âYes.â
Spencerâs eyes lit up and he thanked you before running off somewhere, presumably to gush to someone or make plans.
It was November, four months since Spencer had met Max. They took to each other impossibly, Max always asking after Spencer and vice versa. On more than one occasion, youâd had to call Spencer over in the middle of the night to calm Max after a nightmare.
And then there was the issue of the palpable tension between the two of you. Nothing could just be what it was. Every phone call had to end with a longing sigh, every glance with a burning passion. You found your gaze lingering on his lithe arms when his sleeves were rolled up, on his jawline as he examined a crime board, on his hands (god, his hands) as they flicked over a page.
It had bled obviously into your work life, too, where, entirely too often, you had to be snapped out of a stupor by one of the girls.
You hadnât told anyone, though. Your first and foremost responsibility was to Max, and you hardly wanted anyone thinking that you were going to jeopardize that.Â
Right now though, it was Thursday and you were wrapping up a case in Grand Rapids and you desperately wanted to be home with your son, who you had incidentally just handed over to his father.
The team had taken the news in stride. It was still incredibly strange to them (justifiably so, honestly), so they tended to avoid the topic so as to not accidentally bring up anything sensitive. This mistake had already been made once (your cheeks burned at the memory of Derek asking why you and Spencer showed up to work together so often) and everyone was quick to learn from that experience.
Your phone rang and you looked down to see your motherâs contact light up the screen. You excused yourself from the conference room and quickly answered.
âHey, mom.â
âHi, darling. Max wants to say goodnight,â she said, sighing and sounding slightly apologetic.
âNo worries, mom, weâre in a lull anyways. Put him on, would you?â you appeased her.
âMommy!â came a shrill squeal from the line.
âHi, mouse,â you lilted. âGoodnight, baby. Sleep tight. Iâll be home tomorrow.â
âIs daddy there?â Max asked impatiently.
âI- yes. Heâs right here,â you said, slightly taken aback, and walked back into the conference room. You walked up to Spencer and unceremoniously handed him the phone, shrugging when he looked at you inquisitively. He stood up and started out of the room, putting the phone up to his ear as he walked.
JJ glanced over at you and said, âWhat was that about?â
You frowned. âHe didnât even say anything, just âIs daddy there?ââ You ripped at the corner of the page in the case files you were working on. JJ smiled sympathetically. âHenry went through the same thing. Honestly, he still prefers one of us on and off.â
You shook your head. âBut I--â you sighed. âI donât know.â
Spencer came back into the room a few minutes later, smiling apologetically and handing you back your phone
âWhat was that about?â you asked, trying to sound casual.
Spencer laughed softly. âHe just wanted to tell me about that thing that happened at school.â
You looked at him expectantly. âWh- well, what happened?â you asked.
Spencer looked at you confusedly and said, âHe didnât--â but he was interrupted by Hotch, who came in with a new directive in the case.
You were visibly sullen the rest of the day. JJ assured you it was normal, but you couldnât help but think that Max was taking to Spencer more than he ever liked you.
You were short with Spencer, too, even though you knew it was through no fault of his own that Max asked for him instead of you.
Sensing your worry, Hotch came up next to you at the precinctâs coffee machine.
âItâs just because he sees Reid as more of a friend than anything. Trust me, as soon as he has to tell him to go to bed or eat his vegetables, youâll have equal footing again,â he said with a small smile.
You reciprocated, nodding your head with a small, âThanks,â desperately hoping he was right.
The case wrapped up rather quickly, and you found yourself avoiding Spencer on the jet home the next day. You could feel his eyes burning into the back of your neck and could see JJ, who sat across from you, exchanging nervous looks with him over your shoulder.
âHey,â you interrupted her conspicuous staring contest. âSpence has Max for the weekend. Girlsâ night?â
JJâs eyes lit up (and you only later thought to realize it had been completely mischievous) and smiled.Â
âSounds amazing.â
You grinned in response and your phone dinged.
Pen Garcia
Did someone say girlsâ night at Y/Nâs?!!
You stared at your phone, mouth agape.
Pen Garcia
I have an alert system any time anyone on the plane says girlsâ night.
You blinked in disbelief.
âSo it seems that Pen spies on us and is overwhelmingly ready for girlsâ night.â
JJ nodded. âOh yeah, that old thing. It scared the shit out of me the first time.â
You laughed, âYou can say that again.â
The plane landed sooner than you would have liked, and you turned to Spencer as you were both getting off the jet and said curtly, âIâll drop him off at six.â
His eyes caught yours and for a second you completely forgot you were feeling resentful toward him.
You hated it. It was like time froze and the only thing you could think of or focus on was him. It was pretty easily tunnel vision, and every time, your breath caught in your throat and your cheeks heated to an impossible pink. Each time, it became somehow easier and harder to snap out of it. The better you got at it, the less you wanted to. You tore your gaze from his and walked side by side back into headquarters.
Spencer looked slightly concerned for you. He walked a little faster to be slightly ahead of you and turned his head a little, the expression on his face clearly asking if you were okay.
You nodded softly, pulling him to the side. âSix, okay? And Spencer, youâre his dad. This canât just be a fun sleepover.â
Spencer looked slightly confused, but agreed. âY/N, I know that. Donât worry.â
You smiled and thanked him before walking off to your car and driving home.Â
As soon as you put your key in the lock, you heard the little footsteps thundering toward the door. You managed to catch your son in a hug while kicking the door shut behind you.
âHi, mouse!â you smiled and kissed his chubby cheek. âYouâre gonna spend the weekend at Daddyâs. Does that sound okay?â
To say Maxâs face lit up would be an understatement. He squealed excitedly, jumped up and down, and said, âYeaaahhh!â in a way only a 5 year old could.
You giggled, said, âOkay, mouse, go get your toys packed up,â and walked over to the dresser in his room to pack a weekend bag.
You sighed, thinking of the way Max was clearly more excited to spend time with Spencer than with you. You thought of what JJ said, that Henry went through it, too. You hated to think it, but it was different. Henry grew up with both Will and JJ. You were Maxâs only parent up until 4 months ago, you had raised him by yourself, and it was so painful to see someone who only showed up those 4 months ago take over your sonâs life so easily.
You mentally scolded yourself. There was quite literally no way Spencer would have gotten involved sooner. Not only that, but you were the one who decided to involve him in the first place. You couldnât think like this.
But everything about Spencer was infuriating. He was absolutely perfect around your kid, he was devastatingly attractive, and he didnât fucking know it. He still acted as though Max wasnât completely infatuated with him, he licked his lips and scrunched his eyebrows with such little care it almost seemed on purpose, and you were sick of it. You wanted to be able to make it through a day without having to exist so consciously around him, where you could just breathe and stop worrying about him being right there.
You shut the dresser just a little too harshly, snapping you out of your conflicting mess of festering emotions. Sighing, you finished packing Maxâs things and led him to the car.
Spencer, for some god-awful reason, lived in DC proper, making your drive to his house overwhelmingly unbearable. The drive wasnât long, but the traffic was awful and you wanted to poke your eyes out by the time you pulled up to his apartment.
Getting Max out of his booster seat and walking him up the stairs, you said, âAlright, Max, Iâll pick you up on Sunday, okay?â
Spencer was waiting at the open door and Max ran to him. You were suddenly choked up, feeling like the day a few months prior when you left Max at school for the first time.
After Spencer finished greeting Max and managed to pry him off of his legs, he said, âSay goodbye to Mommy, Maxie,â seeming almost worried that Max wouldnât be enthusiastic about it.
Thankfully, however, Max walked over to you and gave you a squeeze and kiss on the cheek before saying, âBye, mommy!â
âBye, baby,â you said, breathing a sigh of relief. You nodded goodbye to Spencer before heading back down the stairs.
On your way back home, you sent a text to the girlsâ night group that Pen added you to the day you started at the BAU.
You
Mine at 9?
You received affirmative texts from all the women before you even pulled into your driveway.
The next two hours were filled with tidying (your mom, like a saint, did a lot of the cleaning when she stayed, so all that was left to you was picking up and wiping down the occasional counter), picking up an exorbitant amount of booze, and, even though you were staying in, picking out an outfit that didnât scream Iâve been a single mom for five years.
You let yourself dwell on your perpetual problem longer than you probably should have. Every time you thought of Spencer, your heart hurt. You didnât know why you couldnât just put these feelings aside and let it be a normal co-parenting/coworker relationship (as if there was such a thing).Â
You were snapped out of your thoughts (that seemed to happen quite a bit these days) by excited knocks at your door.
You put on your best face and opened the door to the three women standing on your front porch. Upon seeing you, all three of them cheered and pushed their way into your house.
âI have the movie picked. Tonight we will be watching After because it is the worst movie ever created based on the worst book ever written based on the most popular One Direction fanfiction ever, and I will have you know that I kept up with that fanfiction while it was being released and the movie does it zero justice,â Penelope said in one breath. âNot that there was any justice for it to be given in the first place,â she shrugged.
The other three of you were nearly in tears as she rambled, already indoctrinated on her severe opinions on the movie/book/fanfiction.
After one shot and one drink each, you hit play on the movie and let it play in the background.Â
âYou know, Pen, I still remember in high school when you got caught writing lesbian Harry Potter smut on a library computer,â you said, inhibitions obviously already lowered.
Emilyâs mouth fell completely open. âPenelope⌠please tell me this is true.â
Penelope looked completely betrayed, cheeks red and eyes wide. âY/N, high school is off the table. Or did you want me to tell them about that one time I found you with your hand down your pants with a copy of Twilight?â
Screeching laughter echoed throughout the small house while your face burned red and you slapped a hand over Penelopeâs mouth.
âTruce, okay, truce!â you yelled over the noise, laughing yourself and trying to calm everyone down.
After a few more drinks that left you all pretty incapacitated, the conversation strayed naturally to your sex lives. Because that was something you had as a single mother of a five-year-old.
JJ began, âHottest sex Will and I ever had was at this fancy hotel room in New York before we had Henry. I tied him up and--â
Emily interrupted, âWoah, okay, thatâs definitely enough detail.â
âWell, what about you?â Penelope said, poking Emily in the cheek.
Emily leaned back into the cushions and stared at the ceiling before saying, âIt was with this girl back in the Academy. We were new recruits, so there was just something so hot and new and fun about handcuffs. Honestly nothing has topped that feeling since. I mean, thereâs been better sex, sure, but nothing as all around good as that.â
Penelope went next. âIâm honestly surprised Kevin and I dated as long as we did, because the sex, even if it was adventurous, was wildly mediocre. Just aggressively okay. But the best sex would probably have to be with this old hacker I worked with. He was so rough and somehow caring at the same time? Anyways, him.â
Everyone looked at you expectantly and suddenly you could vividly feel every drop of alcohol in your system. The ceiling spun dangerously and you felt yourself opening your mouth and speaking before you could stop yourself.
âHe soft dommed me. Told me shit like âgood girlâ and âyou take it so niceâ and held his hand around my throat and made me finish like four times. It was ridiculously good.â you sighed, only barely registering that you told them more about their coworker of several years than they would want to know.
Penelope said, âOh god, that sounds nice.â
You sighed. âIt was so nice. Havenât had any since, though.â
âAnd what was the context of this?â Emily said, surprisingly coherent for the number of drinks she had.
âOh, it was the one-night stand with Spence in Vegas,â you said as if they should have known.
SIlence. And then, âOh, I take it back. I take it back,â from Pen.
Emily sat straight up. âWait, youâre telling me Spencer, our Spencer, is a dom?â
You shrugged, nonplussed. âMaybe not as a rule, but for sure that night.â
JJ held her hand up to stop any more conversation. âNo. I am done with this conversation. That man is my little brother and I cannot hear this.â
âAgreed,â from Penelope.
âWhatever. Itâs not like I told you guys I accidentally maybe fell in love with him,â you chuckled, almost to yourself.
The air in the room sobered quickly.
Pen scooted over to you. âBaby. What?â
You looked over at her. âOh, itâs not like itâs a big deal. He likes me back. We kissed. Once--â you held up one finger emphatically as if to prove your point (god you were drunk). âOnly once. And it was just to get it out, you know? âCause we canât get involved like that. Not with Max.â
You giggled. âAnd it only hurts a little, right? Because Max likes him better than me now, but I raised Max by myself for five years and I think I deserve a little more credit than that! So Spencer is all of the sudden this perfect dad but thereâs so much tension and I donât know how much more I can take.â
A few tears slipped down your eyes and you broke into sniffles, all three of the girls quickly shuffling next to you and taking you in their arms. You leaned into Penelopeâs ample chest and looked up at her through tears.
âPen, these make a fantastic pillow.â
All of you laughed a little before JJ spoke. âY/N, I know you think youâre doing right by Max by not being with Spencer. I know it. But, babes, if you let this tension continue, nothing good will come of it.â
Emily nodded. âI know both of you well enough to say that even if a relationship failed, you two are way too invested in Max to let anything come between that.â
You shook your head. âI know you guys just want me to be happy. But growing up without a dad sucks. And I don't want to put Max at the tiniest risk he could lose that now that he has it.â
At that moment, someone on screen said something incredibly stupid and the three of you burst into hesitant giggles, lightening the mood ever so slightly.
JJ pulled you up and said, âCome on, letâs get you ready for bed,â to which you nodded and smiled lazily.
âThank you,â you whispered, nuzzling into her. She pulled the sheets back and wrestled you out of your pants before tipping you unceremoniously into your bed.
âOh, Y/N. Thank me when this is resolved.â she sighed, pulling the sheets up to your chin as you fell asleep.
-
Sunday, you overslept and were in a massive rush to get Max from Spencerâs on time. You barely had time to shove a piece of toast in your mouth before jumping in your car and taking off nearly an hour behind schedule.
By the time you parked at Spencerâs apartment, it was definitely an hour past when you were supposed to pick him up.
You practically sprinted up the stairs and knocked frantically at his door.
As soon as the door opened, you pushed in, explaining yourself at the speed of light.
âIâm so sorry, Spencer, I slept in and lost track of time--â
âWoah, Y/N,â Spencer interrupted, grabbing your hand. âHave you checked your phone? Your mom came and got him to take him to the zoo.â
You gasped. âOh my god I forgot about that. She texted me last night right before I passed out and--â
âY/N, donât worry about it. Seriously.â Spencer assuaged you.
You nodded, taking a breath, and noticed your hand in his. You felt your nerves come to life, every single groove of his hand being mapped by yours. You gulped, your eyes flicking up to his.
The air in the room was incredibly thick, and you could almost feel his pulse. God, it was ridiculous how much tension there was. It seemed like something straight out of a romance novel or--
His eyes dropped to your lips and your breath hitched. You felt your eyes fluttering closed and his breath ghosting your face before you pulled away suddenly.
âSpencer,â you whispered, tears playing at the corner of your eyes. âYou know we canât.â
His forehead dropped to yours and he closed his eyes, sighing. âI know.â
âThereâs no good solution here, is there?â you asked.
Spencer chuckled emptily. âI donât suppose there is.â
You pulled away slowly and completely, smiling softly, not really meaning it, and stepped out the door.
âIâll see you tomorrow,â you said.
âSee you tomorrow,â he replied.
-
And thatâs how you ended up with JJ on your couch, the both of you sharing an obscenely large tub of ice cream.
âI just donât know what to do anymore,â you sighed dejectedly.
JJ stabbed her spoon into the ice cream and left it there, taking your face in her hands and saying, âY/N, itâs not healthy for anyone in this situation to keep repressing these feelings. Youâre both too professional and respectful to let anything get in the way of Max.â
âI donât understand why I canât just let it go! Itâs just a stupid crush and Iâm letting get in the way of everything!â you ranted, letting out an exasperated groan.
JJ rubbed your back and said, âYou know itâs more than that, Y/N. And that kind of thing is not something you just get rid of.â
âJust tell me what to do, Jayje,â you whined.
She chuckled. âY/N, you know what I think you should do. But if youâre serious about getting over it, you have to stop acting like thereâs something there. Stop putting yourself in situations that perpetuate your feelings.â
You responded by groaning again, this time into a pillow.
âWhy does this have to be so hard?â you asked softly, turning your head over to JJ.
She just gave you a sympathetic look in return, saying âI know, babe,â and continuing to rub your back.
-
True to JJâs advice, you stopped avoiding Spencer like there was anything wrong. Hotch had been right about Max equalizing once he realized Spencer was not just a friend, so at least you didnât have to worry about that anymore. It was hard, but you managed to stop catching Spencerâs eye illicitly, the lingering touches and gazes.
If you were honest, it made it entirely worse than before. You felt like you were living a lie, especially since Spencer practically looked like a kicked puppy at the realization that you were detaching yourself.
You came up to him in the office one early December afternoon and said, âWe should start planning Maxâs birthday party.â
Spencer looked up at you. âOh, thereâs a âweâ now, is there?â
You looked at him confusedly. âSpencer, what the hell are you talking about?â
He pulled you into the copy room and flicked the lock. âSo Iâm just Maxâs dad now, huh? Nothing else?â he said, coming dangerously close to you.
You squared up against him and said, âSpencer, nothing can happen between us and it would be stupid to keep up the Pride and Prejudice-style longing! It was a one-night stand and we are coworkers,â you nearly yelled. âOr have you forgotten the FBI fraternization rules, SSA Dr. Reid?â
âIâm not the one who shamelessly leaned in for a kiss three separate times, now was I?â he responded, just as harsh.
âThat was both of us and you know it, Dr. Reid.â you said, your voice low.
âYouâre punishing me for something that isnât even remotely my fault! If you hadnât begged a stranger to sleep with you, we wouldnât be in this situation!â Spencer yelled.
âSo now weâre playing the slut card, huh? Are you really suggesting my son is causing the problems right now? Letâs get one thing straight, Spencer if I hadnât begged you to sleep with me you wouldnât have a son. You wouldn't have the son that I raised for five years by myself! You donât get to act like a bitch baby just because you canât get in my pants again.â you snarled.
âYou know thatâs not whatâs happening here. And you can hardly pin the blame on me, Y/N, you know full well there was no way of us getting in touch!â
âIt was a mistake involving you in this.â
âIt was a mistake fucking you!â
âHow dare you fucking say that? You know what that means. You canât get involved in my kidâs life for 4 months and then decide you donât want anything to do with us! Fuck, you, Reid, fuck you.â You stalked out of the copy room, face stony, and sat at your desk, not noticing every single pair of eyes in the bullpen trained on you.
Your phone buzzed.Â
Pen Garcia
Y/N, I heard that all the way from the hallway.
Pen Garcia
Do you want to grab lunch and talk about it?
You sighed, looking around the room and seeing how everyone was purposefully avoiding your gaze. You were too numb to even cry. Every single moment you had at the BAU had been tied to Spencer and Max and it had culminated to this one awful tipping point.
You quickly scratched out a note to Spencer (look Iâm not going to stop you from seeing Max but it doesnât sound like something you want anymore. text pen if you want to help with the party. donât talk to me unless itâs about work or Max.) and left it at his desk.
You walked up the stairs to Hotchâs office and poked your head in. He seemed to be waiting for you.
âThat sounded bad.â
You sighed. âYeah. I donât know. I expected too much of him, I guess.â
You paused and looked at Hotch. He seemed sympathetic (or as sympathetic as he was allowed to be toward a subordinate that just disrupted the entire floor).
Finally he spoke up. âWhy donât you head out for the rest of the day?â
You swallowed and nodded. âThanks, Hotch.â
You to Pen Garcia
Please.
-
The next week passed very uncomfortably. You and Spencer were just civil enough at work to not need a reprimand, but not enough that you didnât make everyone aware that you two were very much still at odds.
He picked up Max for the odd sleepover with minimal interaction and Max could tell something was wrong. He didnât say anything, but every time you or he brought up Daddy, the tightness in your face and voice was a dead giveaway, even for a five-year-old.
Everyone on the team tried multiple times to get you guys to make up, but there wasnât even enough passion in the animosity. You would just stare at him and walk off.
It was fucking awful. Just when you were getting used to having someone around--someone in any capacity--he fucking ruined it. Sometimes, when you were trying to fall asleep, youâd lay in your bed and replay his words in your head.
It was a mistake fucking you.
Youâd let the tears roll down your temples into your hair and ears as you imagined a world in which you hadnât done just that. You imagined a world in which you were new to the BAU, no baggage, no complications, just your outstanding application and a new job. You imagined a world in which Spencer wasnât this person ridden with so many memories and unfortunate connections.Â
But, god, for him to say that knowing that meant Max not existing? Thatâs where you took issue. You desperately wanted to move on and forget about it but that was proving impossible. Everything reminded you of him and what happened. But the worst part was that you still had feelings for him.
Before, you would glance at him and feel wistful, thinking of what could be but what couldnât be. Now, it felt like someone twisting a knife in you. Youâd see him, youâd wake up in the morning and think of him, and for a glorious second, it was all pure. A simple crush. Then it came crashing down. The things he said, the way he acted around you, and you would just collapse inside.
Spencer had come up to you a few times, but you were unclear on his intentions. For a second, it seemed like he was going to let you have it again, but then heâd see your face and his expression would soften and heâd walk away.
On more than one occasion, you had seen or overheard another member of the team going in on him. Apparently the contents of the argument were well known because you had yelled so loud. They all seemed to passively side with you, which meant Spencer must have really fucked up because they had known him for years and you for months. Derek pulled him aside and told him he was way out of line, Hotch demanded he make amends, and Emily just glared.
You took only a small comfort in the fact that the team had your back, because that didnât change the fact that you and Spencer were not speaking. The day of Maxâs party was quickly approaching and you were already exhausted thinking of all the pretending you would have to do. Your mom knew very little as to why things were tense and knew not to ask. It seemed that problems with baby daddies ran in the family now.
Maxâs birthday was December 9th and the day you finally broke was December 7th.
The team was in the conference room working on a group consult. Preliminary deductions were made, leaving everyone in silence, glancing over the case files for more information. You glanced up a few seats over to see Spencer looking at you with so much emotion. You couldnât place it, but you had absolutely had it.
âDr. Reid, do you need me to transfer? Because I canât do this anymore and Iâm begging you to stop being such a fucking ass,â you seethed quietly, just loud enough for everyone else in the room to hear.
Hotch started to object, but you felt the tears welling in your eyes, so you calmly pushed away from the table and excused yourself to the bathroom, Penelope following closely behind you.
As soon as you pushed the door open, a sob escaped your throat, echoing throughout the bathroom. Penelope quickly pulled you in her arms as you broke down into tears.
âI just donât know what to do, Pen, I canât take this anymore,â you gasped through sobs.
Penelope, being the empath she was, cried with you, holding you close and rubbing your back. âBaby, I know. I know itâs hard. But believe me, youâre so strong. Youâre the one that had a kid by yourself at 23 and youâre right, Spencer is a complete ass right now. Itâs not your fault, baby, it really isnât.â
âWhat am I supposed to do? This is my dream job, Pen, it would kill me to transfer but I just canât take this anymore. And even if I transfer, I canât just keep him from Max, Max loves him so much,â you cried. âPlease, Penelope. I donât know what to do.â
A knock on the door rang out.
âY/N? Are you in there?â It was Spencerâs voice.
Penelope looked down at you in her arms. âDo you want to talk to him?â
You sniffed, collecting yourself slightly before nodding. âYeah. Iâd better.â
Penelope smiled softly. âIâll be here if you need me.â
You gave her a watery smile in return. âThe bathroom?â
âYou underestimate my resolve,â she responded.
You shook your head affectionately, walking slowly toward the door. âI could never, Pen.â
You pulled the door open to see a fraught Spencer on the other side. He looked genuinely worried and upset, which caught you slightly off guard. He nodded toward the now empty conference room and turned to start in that direction. You followed closely behind him.
Once inside, he turned to face you again. âY/N Iâm so sorry.â
You waited for him to continue.
âIâve never regretted anything more. I shouldnât have said what I said, it was so⌠wrong of me. Thereâs no way on Earth I could ever regret Max, ever, Y/N, you have to understand that. I majorly crossed a line. There is literally no excuse for what I said,â he rambled, quiet tears slipping down his cheeks as he talked.
âSpencer. I canât just forget it.â you whispered. âIf this is what itâs going to be like every time we fight, Iâm not going to be able to handle it. I care about you a lot and it hurts too much.â
You sat in one of the numerous chairs and continued, âAnd I was mean, too, Spencer. I hurt your feelings. Iâm sorry. It wasnât a mistake involving you. It was just a mistake ignoring these feelings and pretending they would go away. And then acting like children about it,â you added, chuckling dryly.Â
Spencer was quiet for a moment, taking a seat next to you. âI really want to make this work. Us,â he said, taking your hand. âThis week has been hell, Y/N.â
âIt has, hasnât it,â you replied.
âSpencer, promise me, promise me that we wonât keep stuff from each other and let things explode like this. Weâre in each otherâs lives for good now, whether we like it or not.â you said firmly.
âNever again,â Spencer smiled.
-
The day of Maxâs party rolled around and you were awoken by a very rambunctious (now) six-year-old practically jumping on your ribs.
âOh, god, mouse,â you groaned. âStop that, youâre hurting me.â
Max was very quick to settle after you spoke and he nuzzled in next to you and said, âSorry, mommy, Iâm just so excited!â
You laughed, still blinking sleep out of your eyes. âHappy birthday, mouse.â
Max shot up and said, âThank you!â before getting up and running god knows where.
The rest of the morning was filled with preparations. Penelope came over with Derek and a full car, but wouldnât let you outside to see anything she had brought.Â
Derek greeted you with a hug. âHowâre you doing?â
You beamed. âA lot better.â
And it was true. You and Spencer spent the rest of the afternoon (or, really, as much as you could of it) talking. It was productive and you were genuinely hopeful. You started to think that maybe a relationship wouldnât be as damaging as you had made it out to be.
Derek smiled and said, âGlad to hear it, Y/N.â
While Derek and Penelope set up in the backyard, you got Max ready for his party. He insisted on wearing all his favorite clothes that he had worn earlier in the week, so you had to do a load of laundry so he could wear them.
Max came meandering into the laundry room while you were putting the wet clothes in the dryer.
âAre you still mad at daddy?â he asked.
You turned to him, alarmed. âWhat makes you think I was mad at daddy?â
Max shrugged. âI donât know. It was obvious.â
You sighed, contemplating what to say.
âDaddy and I had a fight, mouse. And I was mad at him for a little while, but we talked about it and apologized to each other, which is what you do when you hurt someoneâs feelings, right?â
Max nodded.
âWell, we apologized to each other and now we arenât mad at each other anymore,â you said, tossing the last of the clothes into the dryer.
âYay!â Max exclaimed. âSo youâre kissing now?â
âWh- What?â you asked, extremely startled by the question.
âMommies and daddies kiss,â Max explained simply.
You knelt on the ground next to him. âYeah, mouse, some do. But Spencer and I arenât like that. We donât know each other very well, and normally, you only kiss people you know well.â
Max looked slightly dejected. âOkay.â
You poked him in the tummy and said, âLetâs go see how the set up for the party is going.â
Max perked up and followed you outside.
You stopped in your tracks at the sight in front of you. âPenelope. Oh my god. Youâve outdone yourself.â
The backyard was absolutely decked in decorations. Streamers hung from tree to tree, tables were set up with different kidsâ games, and the goodie bags were concerningly large.
âOnly the best for my Maxie!â Pen said, walking over to the both of you. You smiled and wrapped her in a hug. âThough Derek did most of the heavy lifting,â she laughed.
âNow hurry up and get ready, both of you. Your friends will be here soon!â she continued, shooing you inside.
True to Penelopeâs word, as soon as you got Max dressed, his friends started pouring into the backyard. Other moms praised you on your decorating skills, which Penelope practically bullied you into taking the credit for (âsingle moms get enough shit as it isâ).
As it was a BAU tradition to attend kidsâ parties for reasons you didnât quite understand but were entirely grateful for, the team began showing up shortly after the kids. Hotch got there first with Jack in tow, who took off for the games as soon as he saw them, while Hotch greeted you with a small hug. JJ showed up with Henry and exactly the same thing happened. Emily showed up sporting a bag that clinked too much for your liking and she winked at your questioning eyebrow. Your mom and sister were absolutely floored by the decorations when they showed, giving Penelope big hugs.
Finally, Spencer walked through the gate, and Max ran up to him at the speed of light. Spencer caught him and spun him through the air, singing Happy Birthday in a truly awful singing voice. His eye caught yours and you smiled from ear to ear.
After he dealt with Max, he walked over to you and wrapped you in a tight hug, saying, âIâm glad weâre okay,â into your ear.
You pulled away, watching all the kids run around your backyard with glee. âYou know, Max noticed. He asked if I was done being mad at you this morning.â
Spencer laughed. âHeâs a smart kid. I guess weâll just have to never do that again.â âAgreed,â you chuckled. You thought for a second before adding, âHe also asked if weâre kissing now. Because thatâs what happy mommies and daddies do.â
Spencer glanced over at you. âYeah?â
You bit your lip, rocking on your toes. âYeah.â
You made eye contact that shocked you down to your toes. âIt would be a big deal, Y/N. I understand that.â
You looked around before subtly grabbing his hand. âI think itâs worth it. I really like you, Spencer. Youâre my kidâs dad. There obviously has to be something there with that. I want this.â
Spencer didnât respond, just took your face in his hands and gently pulled it towards his. Your lips met and the world felt right again. You felt as sure of this as when you left Chicago for the BAU, as sure as when youâd made the decision to keep Max, as sure as when youâd first stepped into the hotel room with Spencer.
The kiss was short due to there being so many kids around, but you were still left breathless. You smiled at Spencer as your forehead rested against his. A voice to your left snapped you two out of your reverie.
âYay, mommy and daddy kissed!â Max yelled.
Your cheeks burned and you nearly hid your face in your hands, but Spencer grabbed them, laughed and said, âYeah, Maxie, we did,â and you just smiled.
And 12 years later, at Maxâs high school graduation, you nearly hid your face in your hands when the tears started pouring down your face, but Spencer grabbed them, kissed them, and said, âThank you.â

A/N: please someone send me a request im literally begging you
SUMMARY:Â y/n spells Emilyâs name wrong on her coffee cup on purpose
WARNINGS: none bc im a #legend and donât use nono words
The first time, she just shrugged and went about her day.
The first time, you did it for the same reason you did it to everyone else: it broke up the monotony of a minimum-wage barista job.
The first time was different.
The second time, you recognized her, with her long, silky black hair and sideways belt buckle.
The second time you did it because you wanted her to laugh, or smile, or something. So on the side of the steaming cup, you wrote âEmelyâ in uneven Sharpie scrawl. You winked as you handed it to her, and she laughed as she read it.Â
The second time, you thought that was it.
The third time was a few weeks later, but you still knew it was her. This time, you wrote Emlee, and as you handed it to her, and her eyes scanned the nearly-unintelligible writing, gathered the courage to say, âI havenât seen you around here in awhile.â
She looked up, meeting your eyes, and you swore you died and went to heaven in that moment.Â
âI work for the FBI,â she responded. âI was on a case for a few weeks.â She paused for a minute, then turned to go.
You would later say you mustâve had your own coffee spiked that morning, because there was no other way you ever couldâve called after her: âWait!â
She stopped and turned back towards you. âCan I get your number?â You practically whispered. All the courage youâd had a moment ago faded when she looked at you. She nodded, and chugged the rest of her coffee before reaching past two of your coworkers, grabbing the Sharpie off the counter and writing something on the cup, then handing it to you.
Wow.
You texted her a few days later.
âHey. This is (Y/N), the barista who asked for your number.â
Her response came almost instantly, âWant to go out sometime?â
If one thing was for sure, this girl got to the point.
Your date got postponed a few times due to her FBI job. In the meantime, you two texted and called each other, sharing details about your lives. She told you about growing up the daughter of an ambassador, and you told her about how you had been a nurse for a few years, but were now in your last year of med school, hoping to become an ER doctor. You had a part-time job as a barista to pay the bills, because nursing while in school had become too demanding.
Oh, and she sent memes.
Lots of them.
By the time your date finally rolled around, you felt like youâd known her for years.Â
You two went to dinner and then bounced from club to club, dancing the night away like you were in some modern-day, LGBTQ+ Cinderella story. Her wit and can-do attitude were contagious; by the end of the night, your insecurities felt like a distant memory. It was amazing, really how this woman youâd only seen in person three times before could make you feel like this. Alas, as Cinderella must leave the ball at the stroke of midnight, Emily got a call from her boss, telling her she was needed at the BAU.Â
She looked genuinely sad when she told you she had to leave, and you took that as a sign that sheâd enjoyed your date. Emily offered to drop you off at your house as she left, but you declined the offer, saying youâd just get an Uber.Â
âBe safe,â Emily warned, and then kissed you, like lightning, before turning to go with a wave, like nothing had happened. You sat there, awestruck, for twelve minutes until you regained enough of your mental facilities to remember you were currently in the middle of a club at 4:46 in the morning without a ride home.
Jack laughed at you when you told him that story. âCâmon, that canât really be how you two got together!âÂ
âEh, believe whatever you want,â you said with a smile, tucking a strand behind your ear. The engagement ring on your wrist sparkled as you did so, and Jack demanded to see the ring just one more time, pretty please? How could you refuse?
Emily walked in a few moments later, reaching down to ruffle your hair as she did so. âRossiâs serving the pasta soon, you two.â
You laughed and swatted her hand away, muttering, âItâs surprising heâs even able to let us eat it. The guy literally acts like itâs his child.â
Jack and Emily both laughed at that, and you helped Jack up as you stood, following Emily to the backyard, where the rest of the BAU team was waiting. Over the years, youâd gotten to know them well, until they were all practically family to you.Â
âRemind me again why he insisted on throwing us an engagement party,â you murmured in Emilyâs ear.
âBecause he thinks heâs our legal guardian,â she whispered back.
The rest of the party was fun, full of drinking, playing with Jack and Henry, pasta, and arguments with Derek and Spencer over the dumbest things. Although youâd enjoyed it, by the end of the night you were tired, your face hurt from smiling so much, and your feet hurt from standing. Emily, on the other hand, looked like sheâd just had four energy drinks.Â
âIâll get you coffee on the way home and then weâre choosing what to do next.â
âGod no,â you groaned, âI just want sleep.â
Emily laughed, managing to only sound slightly psychotic, as she pulled into the Starbucks drive-thru. You were too busy slipping in and out of consciousness to hear what she ordered for you. When she was handed your drink, however, she pulled a marker out of the cupholder in the front seat, and crossed out your name, and rewrote it. You figured she was fixing the baristaâs spelling, until she proudly handed the cup to you.
(Y/N).
But spelled in the weirdest possible way.
âI hate you.â
âNo you donât.â Emily ended her sentence by kissing you, at least, until the car behind you two honked at you guys for holding up the line.
Emily muttered what you assumed was a string of expletives as she drove the rest of the way through the drive-thru, but extremely slow on purpose.
âWhatâd I do to deserve you?â you asked. You were gazing at her with complete adoration as you sipped your drink.
Her response was a snort, followed by, âMustâve been something good.

Bad (4): Moral of the Story
First inspired by this song âł Bad by Lennon Stella
(Ransom Drysdale x wife reader)
Summary:Â Your divorce with Ransom is finalized and some changes, good and bad, occur for the both of you.
A/n: Sorry loves that Iâm slow with getting out chapters! Thereâs just a lot going on lately, so I apologize that this one is kinda short. Next chapter will be better!
Also, many thanks to those of you who voted! hehe I might have been a little biased and wanted Andy in the story too...
Warnings: mild profanity. more angst.
As always, plz pardon any mistakes, the stories are always proofread but I tend to make many mistakes regardless.
Series Masterlist
On November 12th, a life you once knew was officially left behind.
That was the day a judge signed off his judgement and you and Ransom were officially divorced.
After all the hell he put you through, one would think youâd be happy. But honestly? You were still unhappy. Of course youâd never left him back in your life, yet your heart was still broken.Â
It wasnât supposed the end this way.
You werenât ever supposed to be sitting in your car, alone, letting your confident facade fall, as your shoulders racked with heavy sobs. Â
Unfortunately, life is just always full of surprises. Good and bad ones.
Today seemed as if it were just the perfect day for a divorce, if there was ever such a thing.
Rain heavily fell from the ominous-looking clouds, such as your tears uncontrollably streamed from your eyes. You were thankful for the dark lighting, making it impossible for the others parked in the dimly-lit parking garage to see your distressed state.Â
Behind your tears, the radio quietly played, and you took a second to listen to the song, reaching forward to turn to volume up, just the slightest. Its lyrics spoke to you, and somehow you knew things were gonna be okay.Â
Some mistakes get made
That's alright, that's okay
You can think that you're in love
When you're really just in pain
Some mistakes get made
That's alright, that's okay
In the end it's better for me
That's the moral of the storyÂ
Once your emotions made their much needed escape, you took a deep breath, as if you were starting afresh. This was your life now, and from here on out, youâd make the calls. Ransom was no longer looming around the back of your conscience and it was nice. He was of the past, and currently you were preparing for the future. Even your little one knew it, as they lightly kicked you, almost as if they were saying, âitâs gonna be okay.â
And you knew that was true. You had a baby on the way, and that was more than enough. A precious gift from the heavens, who would be making their appearance in a little over a month. Just the mere thought brought a smile to your face, one you caught in the rearview mirror. Analyzing the smile, you realized that it wasnât forced and that you were finally, truly, happy.Â
A few weeks had passed since the divorce, and you were functioning just fine, some would even say incredibly. For you, the dark clouds of your divorce and past love life had moved on, but for Ransom, it was quite the oppositeâŚÂ Â
Ransom was miserably laying on his couch, legs propped over the armrest, head lazily laid on a throw pillow, half of his mind focusing on the tv, while the other half, imagined a time when you were there with him.
âRansom, have I ever told you how much I loved you?âÂ
You hand rested on his soft and clean-shaven face, gazing happily into his never ending blue eyes. The man pretended to think, shaking his head then leaning forward to capture you lips in a kiss. Ransom pushed your back against the couch, as the two of you laughed, although still lipped locked.Â
âRansomâŚâ
The manâs eyes may have been glued to the tv screen, but instead his mind was replaying the memory of you. He could even hear your voice, as if the daydream was nothing more than reality, until another voice cut into his mind. A higher pitched one, if you will.
âRansom!â
He didnât respond to the girl, the call of his name being mixed with two voices. Blairâs and yours. It took everything to hold onto to your voice and ignore the other.Â
âRansom.â
Finally, the womanâs voice, who was actually standing in front of him, broke through, shattering his memories and pushing him into reality.
Ransom quickly sat upright, to act as if nothing happened, allowing the smiling woman to sit in his lap, while peppering kisses over his jawline. Her kisses were nothing like yours. You kisses were filled will love and not lust.
âOh Ranny. How did I get so lucky?â
He plastered a fake smile on his face, leaning into to kiss her nose, instantly repulsed by his own actions.Â
âYou know, I already did some wedding planning today.â
The words that left the womanâs mouth made Ransomâs constant thinking freeze. He had been so eager to getting over you that he blindly proposed to this woman, who was obviously no better than himself. She was going to put up with his shit, unlike you. That was definitely something he didnât need in this new marriage. Actually he didnât even need a marriage.Â
âBlair, Iâm sorry I just canât.â
Her eyes grew like the size of saucers, as she hopped off of Ransomâs lap, standing tall and towering over the sitting man, clearly ready for a fight.
âCanât what, Hugh?â
âGet married.â
The scoff she let out was loud enough to be heard in China, before her pitchy voice started yelling at Mr. Heartbreaker. She really was overreacting, this was Ransom Drysdale after all.
âYou asshole! Is it because Iâm not (y/n), huh is that it? Newsflash! She wonât take you back. Youâve fucked up Ransom and now you are losing me too!âÂ
At the mention of your name, a fire ignited inside Ransom. Yes, he screwed up, but he didnât need anyone, especially Blair, to tell him that.
âYeah, I screwed up, but you know what? We are both fuckers who ruin the lives of the ones we love. You knew damn well I was married, and seeing what I did to her, you knew what you were getting yourself into! Iâm not blaming you, cause it takes two to tango, sweetheart!âÂ
Blair stared daggers into Ransomâs eyes, him doing the same, as both of their chests were heaving from their screaming match. The man had made a great point, although self-deprecating yet true. When he was married, he was so willingly ready to cheat, it was a sign that Ransom would never be ready to commit to anyone, even when he thought he was in love.Â
Maybe it wasnât the best idea to be arguing and drunk, though, while even sober, Ransomâs mind never functioned properly. Not after you left anyway.Â
Their argument continued into the night, with Blair leaving behind her rock of a ring in the palm of Ransomâs hand. And truth be told, that when woman angrily strutted out the door, Ransom felt at ease for once. He had finally put a patch on his sinking boat that rocked in the large ocean of his fuck-ups. When the bed was empty that night, it felt nice. Why he ever traded you for Blair was beyond him, and he hated himself for it. But no, he knew youâd never take him back, you were too good for him. Hopefully, youâd find someone else whoâd love you better than he treated you. For once, Ransom put your needs before his. If you were to show up on his doorstep tomorrow moring with an engagement ring, and a man at your waist, heâd hoensly congratulate you. As much as it would pain him to see you move on, he knew no amount of pain could weigh up to the heartbreak you felt.Â
This was his punishment.Â
It really did take all the physical restraint in Ransom to not run up to you, fall to his knees and beg when he saw you those weeks ago in court. It took everything in him to not call, and apologize for the hell he put you through. Because as much as you deserved an apology, he knew youâd never forgive him and it would hurt him even more.
For you, as the time to your due date got closer, you suddenly realized that one income might not be enough. Bills after bills can bleed one dry. So, last Saturday, you saw an ad online for a personal assistant, the requirements were slim and the hours were as needed. After four long days, you finally received a chance for an interview, which unfortunately occurred during your work hours. Lorraine, the sweetest woman on the planet, offered to work your shift, giving you the time to rush off to the DAâs office. Newton wasnât too far of a drive, and at this point youâd travel across country just to give this precious life inside of you, a good beginning. Being eight months pregnant, probably ruined your chances of getting the job, but when you met your âhopefully soon-to-be bossâ, he seemed to not care. Actually, he was willing to give you the jobs, but was concerned it would be to much for you. It took a few tries, but you finally assured the man, leaving his office only to see him again tomorrow.Â
You came to know your boss as Andy Barber, a man with a heart of gold, and his worries always about you. It was endearing, and you started to unintentionally drift closer to the man. One late night in that very November, Andy had decided to work well past his usual hours. It was pitiful to see the man all alone in the building as the only source of light was at his desk. Thanksgiving holiday was coming up and Andy begged for you to go home and start your holiday break. For minutes your both âbickeredâ back and forth, until you finally left, giving Andy a sense of relief. He really did care about you, although he never said so. Your were his employee and he wasnât sure if you felt the same way. Well, until tonight anyway.
Just as Andy thought heâd sent you home, you came back ten minutes later, a small pizza box in one hand, while the other held a liter of soda. A grin spread across Andyâs face, as he stood up to take the box from you, clearing off room on his desk for the two of you to eat. While enjoying your makeshift dinner, you and Andy started to open up to each other even more, carrying on small talk, that led to something else.
âSo how far along are you, (y/n)?â
âAbout eight months.â
Andy raised his eyebrows in surprise, while also admiring you for your dedication.Â
âWow, thatâs amazing! I canât even imagine how hard all of this is for you.â
Your boss motioned to all of the paperwork on his desk, to which you just shook your head. It really wasnât an inconvenience at all.Â
âOh, itâs not that bad. Iâm the only one making a home for this baby, so I do what I can.â
Your eyes trailed up from your belly to be met with Andyâs sympathetic smile.
âI wouldnât have known, but I do know this baby has the best mother of them all.â
At the compliment you let out a small laugh, a sound that made Andy beam, as the two of you continued to work on some files. To keep the night from falling silent, you continued to talk with the man, not missing a beat in your conversation.Â
âThank you, that means a lot to me. My husband, err, ex-husband, Ransom, cheated on me, but he did leave me this precious gift.âÂ
For some reason, you felt compelled to tell Andy your story, like you needed to get it off your chest to someone other than Lorraine. Come to think about it, Andy was the only other person you trusted, Lorraine, of course, being the first. In the two weeks you had worked together, the man had made an everlasting impression on you.Â
Oh good god, why did you just spill your guts to the man? He probably doesn't care for your sob story--
âRansom? As in Ransom Drysdale?â
You nodded your head, preparing yourself for some spew of judgement.
âThatâs right! Iâve heard of him... and you. The two of you seemed in love. Iâm so sorry (y/n), you didnât deserve it, honey.
Not only were you shocked that Andy did genuinely care, but the pet name sounded like it was a second nature to him, which seemed to make your heart swell.Â
âThanks. Itâs led me here though! To this amazing job with my lovely boss.â
Feeling a surge of confidence, with hopes that maybe Andy felt the same way, you shot him a playful wink. Your eyes dazzling in the yellow light of the desk lamp, making Andy view you almost as an angel. Thank the heavens he wasnât standing, because your adorable wink made his knees weak.Â
If Andy was going to become close to you as he hoped, now was the time to come clean about his past, and serve it on a platter as you had done. A good relationship always starts with trust.Â
âWell if it makes it any better, I went through something similar. My wife left me years ago, with my son too. Last year, I went to go visit them, only to find theyâd been in a car accident-â
A stray drop of a tear fell onto the paper underneath Andy, and it broke your heart to see him this way. It was obviously hard for him to tell the story, and youâd heard enough. Deciding to make a bold move, you moved around the desk and wrapped your arms around Andyâs shoulders.Â
The man solemnly turned towards you, his chair swiveling around along with him, giving you the space to sit on his knees, while holding him close. His beard tickled your neck, as silent tears were shed. Your hand soothingly ran along his back, as you placed soft kisses to his temple. Andyâs arms were at your twisted waist, the baby bump slightly in the way, although you had turned your body to accommodate the manâs large figure.Â
The two of you stayed locked in each otherâs embrace for a long four minutes, until Andy pulled back, his arms still around your waist. Slowly, you brought your hand around from his neck, and to his cheek, using your thumb to wipe at the dry tears. Andy leaned into your touch and smiled contently at you. He was a broken man, who needed some love. Exactly the kind youâd shown him.Â
Without second thought, you pressed your lips to Andyâs, noticing how his lips felt different than Ransomâs, his beard making you giggle just a bit. After what seemed to be forever, you and Andy reluctantly pulled away from each other, blissful smiles on your faces.Â
From that night forward, you and Andy Barber started dating. Dinners out after long nights of work, or movies at home. He reminded you so much of how Ransom was in the beginning, except this time, you knew that this man wouldn't break your heart.Â
For Thanksgiving, you invited Andy over for dinner as the two of you were all alone this year, no family this time, and your friends had their own lives.Â
Dinner started out great, you and Andy bought a small Turkey, basting and then roasting it, along with making some side dishes, most of them being microwaveable. Honestly, the food had tasted delicious regardless of the way it was cooked.Â
Just as you were about to dig into the feast before your eyes, a text message rang through on your phone. Who would be texting you at this hour, especially on thanksgiving?
Ransom- I know this isnât the time, but I was wondering if tomorrow youâd like to go out for lunch. Not as a date or anything, but so I can apologize to you and explain. Iâm not looking for forgiveness, but you deserve to know.âÂ
Your face looked as if you had seen a ghost, the expression scaring Andy as he had peeked up from his plate to see you not eating, and instead staring into the void of your cell phone screen.Â
â(y/n), whatâs wrong?âÂ
Reaching across the table, Andy grabbed your free hand, slightly startling you from your deep thoughts.Â
âUh. Ransom. He texted me. Asked for lunch tomorrow to explain everything.âÂ
The man, still holding your hand, shook his head, prompting you to continue on with the story.Â
A part of you wondered why the events of the past had happened, and to get closure, you needed answers. Maybe it wasnât in your best interest, but the curiosity inside of you was piqued. Now that you knew Ransom was willingly ready to talk, you also knew that if you didnât take this opportunity, it would instead eat away at you. Something that you definitely didnât need.Â
âAndy, what should I do?â
âOh honey, I know you want to know what happened , so go. But if you ever feel uncomfortable, call me and Iâll be there to kick his ass.âÂ
You laughed at Andyâs protectiveness, and lightly kissed his hand that was enclosing yours. Looking down, you felt a tiny yet powerful kick. A sign from the little one that his or her father still didnât know about their existence. The ending of Ransomâs text flashed in your brain, the irony of it all laughing at you.Â
You deserve to know.Â
Ransom was an asshole, thatâs for sure, but in the end he fathered this child, and deserved to know that much. The same went for yourself, as you were entitled to the story that destroyed your marriage.Â
Tomorrow is definitely gonna be one for the books...
another a/n: If youâve made it here (the end) I applaud you very much, but while youâre here, I apologize for this chapter. The writing style is that of a fifth grader, and I am forever ashamed that i actually posted it haha.Â
Anyway, the next chapter should hopefully be better!

The first time, she just shrugged and went about her day.

Wow.

christmas lights - pt. 4
fem!reader x drew mcintyre
Drew begins to make up for the six weeks him and reader were separated by making a nice romantic dinner on Valentine's Day, which leads to some serious conversations and rekindling their marriage ...
word count: 4.5k+
warnings: mentions of cheating, slight drinking, loads of fluff, smut (because it's time that we have nice things in this mini-series)
â part 4. enjoy loves â
masterlist || request an imagine here
part 1 || part 2 || part 3
~ 18+ content below - read at your own risk ~
Drew's POV
"Sheamus, I need t'know what t'make Y/N for Valentine's Day," I say as I drive to the grocery store. "I wanna make a perfect dinner."
Sheamus' voice comes over the BlueTooth in my car as he says, "Bro, pasta dishes work every time. What kind of pasta dish does Y/N like?"
She likes lasagna but she also likes ravioli dishes. I could never go wrong with spaghetti because everyone loves spaghetti, plus there's always that chance at a Lady and the Tramp moment with the pasta.
I say, "I don't fucking know, dude. I know she likes a lot of different pasta dishes. Maybe I should just make peanut butter and jelly or something."
"Don't ya dare," Sheamus warns. "Y/N would get so mad."
She's at work all day and I asked for today off from work. It's literally eight in the morning and I have until four to get everything ready.
I pull into the parking lot at the grocery store as I say, "Lemme call Candice. I'm sure she knows."
"Good luck," Sheamus says before hanging up.
Then I dial Candice LeRae's number. It rings a few times before she says, "Drew, it's eight in the morning. What could you possibly want?"
I ask, "Yer Y/N's best friend. What's her favorite pasta dish?"
Candice is quiet before she says, "Lasanga casserole. Meat sauce. She loves that. Can I go back to sleep?"
"Yeah," I say. "Sorry fer waking ya."
The line goes dead and I go into the grocery store after looking up a recipe for lasagna casserole.
My goal for tonight is to reignite the flame that is mine and Y/N's marriage. We've been sleeping in separate rooms, and we've been good about it. I've only joined her in her bed once because it was storming out and she wanted me to stay with her. Other than that, we've been obeying the boundaries we set.
Separate bedrooms at night, no sex, no touching of the private parts, and no sexting when I'm away. It helps that I've been away for wrestling for most of the three weeks since we cleared the air so the separate bedrooms, no sex, and no touchy touches were easy. The no sexting, not so much. I came home yesterday to spend Valentine's Day with Y/N so maybe there can be some touchy touches tonight since I'm making dinner and it's a romantic day.
Y/N has no idea of what I have planned. Her presents will be waiting in the living room for her when she walks into the house after work. A large, life-sized teddy bear sprayed with my cologne will sit on the couch with flowers and chocolates on his lap. The house will be lit with candles.
Then we'll enjoy a candlelit dinner and dessert. The dinner will be made by me. The dessert is a cake that I ordered the other day that's sitting in the back of the refrigerator, hidden away from Y/N. We'll probably watch some cheesy romance movie since it's Valentine's Day.
I can only hope everything goes to plan, as long as I find where the damn ricotta cheese is in this store.
***
Your POV
You mope around the office all day. You'd much rather be at home with your husband than here at work. The past three weeks have gone by quickly, and you miss Drew.
He seemed okay with you coming into work today, but you requested to leave at four so you can at least be home for dinner by five. You'll probably end up ordering takeout honestly. You don't have anything big planned for tonight except ice cream and a movie.
Drew texted you a 'good morning' and 'Happy Valentine's Day' this morning around ten in the morning when he probably woke up. It made you happy and motivated you to get through the day.
The day goes by slow. A minute feels like an hour and an hour feels like an eternity as you write out this six-page report on the last meeting you had.
As soon as four hits, you say goodbye to your co-workers and grab your jacket before leaving.
It's a warm day in Florida today as you walk down to your car in the parking garage. You text Drew to say that you're on your way home before you pull out of the parking garage.
You drive home, and it's about 4:30 when you get there. Florida traffic is terrible during rush hour and you had to take the long way home instead of the quick five-minute drive because of traffic.
Drew's car hasn't moved in the driveway since you left at six this morning. You get out of your own car and walk inside. You hang your car keys up on the hook and take your jacket off. You kick off your shoes and walk into the living room with a sigh.
You freeze where you stand when you see what's sitting on the couch when you walk into the room. On the couch sits a teddy bear, flowers, and chocolates. You smile widely at the sight before walking over.
There's a note on the couch next to the teddy bear that's folded with your name on it. You giggle and unfold it, reading it to yourself.
Happy Valentine's Day, my love. If the house is still standing when you see this then come check the dining room.
Smiling, you walk into the dining room. Candles light the room and Drew dressed up in a suit stands beside the food filled table. Lasagna casserole with meat sauce, a bowl of meatballs and sauce, and breadsticks sit on the table. There's a bucket with champagne and ice next to the food. The candles are in the middle of the table and all the food.
You gasp and say, "Drew! This is amazing! I feel so underdressed for this dinner."
Your husband greets you with a forehead kiss before he says, "There's time for ya t'get changed if ya want. I just took the food out of the oven so it'll still be warm when ya come back down."
Giggling, you say, "I need five minutes to change then I'll be right back."
"Take yer time, love," Drew says, a smile on his lips.
You quickly run up the stairs. You certainly weren't expecting Drew to go all out today, not after the last few months. He did, though, and it's making you fall more in love with the Scotsman.
Quickly, you strip out of your drab office clothes and get into the white dress you wore on your first date with Finn, almost nine years ago.
The top of the dress is lacy with thin spaghetti straps. The v-neck dips low but doesn't reveal a lot. The skirt is ruffled and has two layers, one short and the second layer reaches about halfway down your thighs. You wear a pair of silver heels to go with the dress. The heels are a light silver color. You brush out your naturally waving hair and walk downstairs.
Drew's face immediately lights up with a smile when he sees you. "Wow," he says. "Still as beautiful as ya were on our first date."
As he pulls out your chair, you say, "So you did remember that I wore this dress on our first date."
"How could I not?" he asks, pushing your chair in when you're sitting in it. "Ya were stunning and I was extremely nervous."
Laughing, you help yourself to some lasagna casserole and meatballs. You grab a breadstick.
Drew takes his serving as he says, "So, I physically made the lasagna casserole and meatballs. I bought the breadsticks as well as the cake that's in the fridge."
"There's a cake in the fridge?" you ask, looking up at Drew.
He smiles and says, "Uh, surprise? I wanted t'go all out today. I know how much ya love Valentine's Day and I definitely wanted t'make sure today was yer day."
You smile and take a bite of the lasagna. "Well, thank you, Drew," you say. "This is amazing and I don't think I deserve it."
Your husband says, "Ya deserve it, Y/N. Ya one hundred percent deserve it."
The two of you make small talk as you eat the dinner that Drew made. You ask him how he got all this together today.
"I bought the ingredients today and started making dinner by like nine in the morning," he explains to you. "I texted ya at ten so ya thought I just woke up because that's when I usually wake up. I didn't want ya thinking something was off with me waking up early."
You laugh as you eat the meal Drew prepared.
He asks you how your day at work went.
"Well, Tom had me write a whole report on our meeting about finances the other day," you tell him. "Six pages due before I left. This feels like he's punishing me for calling our indefinitely while we were separated."
Drew frowns and says, "I'm sorry. I know how hard ya work, and that's another reason I went all out for dinner."
The comment makes you smile.
After you're both done eating, Drew puts the leftovers in containers before putting them in the refrigerator. He washes the dishes and you sit at the kitchen island counter, watching him.
He's trying to make up for the six weeks you two were apart. You can tell because Drew McIntyre never cooks or does the dishes.
Drew hums quietly to himself as you watch him do the dishes. Your head is in your hands and you smile at the sight.
"So, what flavor is this cake?" you ask, curious.
Your husband laughs softly and says, "Vanilla and chocolate swirl with buttercream icing. I know that's yer favorite because that was the flavor of our wedding cake."
The fact that he's remembering the slightest details from your first date and from your wedding day makes you so happy. He's incorporating these things into making this Valentine's Day the best one yet, and that's the thing you love most about Drew.
As Drew finishes up doing the dishes, you get up and walk over to him. Slowly, you wrap your arms around his waist from behind him and you look up at him. Even with two-inch heels on, Drew is still about eight inches taller than you.
"Thank you for dinner," you say. "It means so much to me that you did this."
He turns the water off and dries his hands before he turns around in your arms. Drew looks down at you and smiles as he says, "I hope ya enjoyed yer presents in the living room."
You giggle, "I'll definitely be putting that teddy bear to use while you're on the road. As for the flowers and chocolates, thank you."
Your husband pushes your hair out of your face and he says, "Yer welcome, love."
Drew's hand lingers on your cheek a little longer than it probably should but you don't mind. As a matter of fact, you lean into his gentle touch so he knows it's okay.
It's been a while since he's touched you like this and you want to enjoy it.
"How about that cake?" Drew suggests. "I know yer just dying t'dig into that."
You giggle and let Drew go so he can get the cake out. "You definitely know me better than I know myself," you say, watching him take the cake out of the refrigerator and put it on the counter.
Drew cuts a piece for you and a piece for himself before he takes your hand and walks out into the living room. The couch is big enough for you, Drew, and the human-sized teddy bear so the two of you sit beside each other on the couch.
Your husband pulls up Netflix and turns on your favorite romance movie, After. Of course, Drew sits through After We Collided as well. He knows these are your favorite romance movies, and he knows how much you adore Hardin Scott's character. You do have a thing for accents.
Then you put on Drew's favorite romance movie, A Star Is Born. You're both a fan of this movie, and you both sing Shallow extremely off-key.
It's about one in the morning when you're done watching all three movies. The two After movies were about three and a half hours combined then A Star Is Born is just over two hours long, and you started watching the movies at about seven that night.
You're cuddled against Drew as he turns off Netflix. He looks down at you and asks, "Ya tired, love?"
Shaking your head, you say, "Nope. Are you?"
Drew shakes his head and says, "No."
You sigh and take his hand in yours, playing with his fingers. "We could, um, talk," you suggest. "About everything to see what we're both thinking."
Your husband says, "Okay. Tell me what's on yer mind."
Sighing, you meet Drew's eyes as you say, "I, uh, miss falling asleep in your arms and waking up beside you, like when your home and stuff." You continue playing with his fingers.
"Do ya want me back in our bedroom?" Drew asks slowly. "Or even just a few times a week? It doesn't have t'be every night if ya don't want."
Drew looks at you intently before you say, "When you're home, I'd like to sleep in the same bed as you. I feel like three weeks is long enough for you to be in a separate bedroom."
A small smile forms on Drew's lips as he says, "Then I'll sleep in our bed again if that's what ya want."
Nodding, you say, "That's what I want. Is that what you want?"
You don't understand why this is kind of awkward. You're just asking your husband to start sleeping in your shared bed again.
"It's what I want," Drew states. "Since we're on the topic of, uh, the boundaries we talked about. Since we're sleeping in the same bed again, do the no touching and no sex boundaries apply?"
You didn't think about that when you asked Drew to sleep in bed with you again.
Sighing and still playing with Drew's fingers, you say, "If the opportunity to have sex arises then I won't stop it. It's been a while since we've been, um, intimate with each other so I wouldn't mind."
Drew smiles as your face gets a little flustered. You've never been good at talking about sex, and it gets you all hot sometimes, like right now.
He pulls his fingers away from you and you pout. Drew says, "So we're basically saying no more boundaries." It wasn't formed like a question.
"Well I'm not saying we get naked right here on the couch and have sex right now," you say, suppressing a giggle. "But technically, yes. We're saying no more boundaries."
A sigh of relief leaves Drew's lips as he says, "Thank God because sleeping in the guest room is torture knowing ya're just down the hall."
You laugh and look up at Drew. You turn your body so you're facing him more. A smile lights up Drew's face.
He's happy that there aren't boundaries anymore. You never called them rules because rules are always tempting to break, and you wanted to make sure to move slow instead of rushing into your relationship like it was before Christmas.
Both of you are quiet before you say, "Thank you for respecting my wishes while we worked on our marriage, Drew. It shows me that you wanted to work on it too."
Drew says, "I woulda moved out if ya told me to. I wanted to do this right." He pushes a stray hair off your cheek. "If fixing our relationship while spending some time apart is what helps us in the end then I'm happy t'do it."
A smile forms on your face as you say, "I love you. Thank you for sticking around even though I've been difficult."
Your husband says, "And I love ya. I would do anything fer ya, Y/N. Ya know this."
"I do know this," you say as you lean your head up a bit, wanting a kiss.
Drew gets what you're trying to say and he slowly leans into you, his lips ghosting over yours lightly. A soft gasp leaves your lips as your heart races in your chest.
While you slept in separate bedrooms and didn't see much of each other, kisses between you and Drew were rare. Every kiss felt like the first kiss you ever had with him. This one especially feels like that.
Your eyes flutter closed as Drew finally presses a soft kiss to your lips. Butterflies form in your stomach as your lips move against Drew's. One of his hands rests on your waist and one of your hands is on the side of his neck.
The kiss slowly becomes more intense as Drew begins to kiss you with more passion. You welcome the passionate kiss as Drew's hand migrates from your waist to your back. He presses you against him as you throw one of your legs over one of his so you're closer to your husband.
In between kisses, Drew asks, "Are ya still not tired?"
You shake your head slightly and say, "No. You?"
"No," he replies. "Wide awake."
This moment has been building for a while. It started almost as he came back home. Now that it's started, you don't want it to stop.
The kiss intensifies more when Drew's tongue swipes across your bottom lip, asking for entrance. You part your lips a bit and his tongue finds its way into your mouth. You sigh softly as the kiss turns into a make out session.
Drew's hands are both now on the small of your back as you now cup his face in your hands. Sighs leave both yours and Drew's lips, especially after you crawl onto his lap. You straddle his thighs to make it easier to kiss him.
You pull back, needing a second to breathe. You pant, "We lift all boundaries and now we're making out on the couch."
Your husband laughs and leaves soft kisses all over your face. "Is there something wrong with making out on the couch?" he asks, smiling.
"No," you giggle. "But have you met us? Making out usually turns into something more."
His kisses leave your face and migrate down to your jaw. He mumbles, "Would that be a bad thing though? It's been a long time since we've done anything. At least four months."
You sigh, "We just lifted the boundaries. It would be terrible timing."
Drew smiles as he kisses your neck before he says, "I've missed ya like this, Y/N. I've missed us like this."
It has been a long time since either of you have been intimate with each other.
"I've missed you like this too, Drew," you say, melting under his touch. "And it has been a long time since we've been like this. I don't care how bad the timing is anymore."
Your husband looks up at you and asks, "So, are we having sex tonight?"
Giggling, you say, "As long as we take it upstairs because I don't want to make a mess on the teddy bear."
"Done," is all Drew says before he scoops you up into his arms and takes you upstairs to your shared bedroom. He holds you bridal style in his arms as he walks up the stairs.
You leave kisses on his cheek and neck as he walks with you to the bedroom.
He walks into the bedroom and puts you down at the foot of the bed. You lean up and kiss him passionately. You hook your fingers into the belt loop of his suit pants and pull him against you.
Honestly, you don't hate the idea of having sex with Drew tonight. It's been so long since you have. You miss being intimate with him.
Slowly, you pull off Drew's jacket and let it fall to the floor. He undoes his tie, and all of this as his tongue finds its way into your mouth again. You sigh softly and your fingers begin to unbutton Drew's shirt after you untuck it from his pants.
His hands are on your back, near the zipper of the dress.
You pull his shirt off and it joins the jacket and now the tie on the floor. Drew unzips your dress and you pull the straps off your shoulders. The dress falls to the floor and pools at your feet, leaving you in only your panties.
Your fingers slide down Drew's chest as the kiss continues. You run your fingers down his stomach until they reach the button on his pants.
Both of you kick off your shoes before Drew pushes you onto your back on the bed, breaking the kiss. You move back a bit and watch as he pulls off his suit pants, leaving him in his boxer shorts.
"Ya have no idea how long I've waited just t'see ya and touch ya like this again," Drew tells you as he crawls up to you, kneeling between your legs.
You cup his face in your hands and say, "I've waited just as long as you have, Drew."
He smiles at you as his eyes roam your exposed upper body. You lay on your back and Drew leans down, kissing your chest down to your breasts. He takes one of your nipples in his mouth, sucking gently as his fingers play with the other. You gasp and sigh, arching your back slightly off the bed. You grasp onto the covers as Drew continues down your body, kissing down your belly until he gets to the waistband of your panties.
Drew looks up at you and asks, "May I?"
You nod, eager. He pulls off the panties you're wearing, and you may or may not be just a tiny bit wet. Hearing Drew talk about how much he's been waiting for this and wanting this has made you a little wet.
He bites his lip before diving in. Your back arches off the bed and you moan, "Drew." Your fingers find their way into his hair as his tongue swirls around your clit.
Your breathing soon becomes labored as Drew kisses and sucks on your core. He slips a finger into you and you moan a little louder.
It's been way too long since you've been with Drew like this, and you don't plan on ever going four months without sex ever again.
Drew's finger moves slowly and your back arches off the mattress. Your eyes are closed as your sense of touch takes over. Drew sucks on your clit and adds a second finger.
"Drew," you moan out. "Baby, please."
He looks up at you and asks, "'Please' what, love?"
You open your eyes and look at your husband as he licks your arousal off his lips. "I need you," you whine. "Please."
Drew pulls his fingers out of you and you let out a little whine. He pulls off his boxers and reaches over onto the bedside table to grab a condom out of the box that's in the drawer.
He's on his knees between your legs as he slides the contents of the tiny silver package he pulled out of the drawer onto himself. You watch as he crawls on top of you. You lean up and kiss Drew softly, pulling him down to you. His chest is pressed to yours and you wrap your legs around Drew's waist.
After a second, Drew pulls back and asks, "Is this what ya really want? I don't want t'continue if this isn't what ya want."
You push Drew's hair behind his ears and say, "I want this Drew. I've wanted this for months. I want this to happen."
A smile forms on Drew's lips as he kisses you again. You feel the tip of his member run through your folds and you sigh softly against his lips. Your hands are in his hair, gripping lightly as Drew begins to slide into you.
Moans pass through your lips into the kiss as Drew's length fills you up. Drew holds himself up above you as he begins to thrust slowly into you. Moans escape your lips as Drew moves.
Drew leaves kisses on your neck as he moves sweetly and passionately.
The room is filled with the sound of skin slapping and your moans. Drew leaves marks on your neck and his thrusts begin to speed up.
"Oh, Drew," you moan softly. "Don't stop, please."
Your husband smirks against the skin on your neck and moves deeper into you. His tip grazes your g-spot and you cry out in pleasure.
He knows how to make you feel good. It's almost like he hasn't missed a beat since the last time you had sex.
Drew grunts above you as he begins to hit your g-spot over and over again. Your nails are digging into Drew's back as he moves.
Your husband takes one of your hands in his as he moves. He kisses you again.
You don't say anything before you orgasm. You release on Drew's member and he soon follows. Both of you moan each other's names and a bunch of profanities as you both come.
Drew pulls out and rolls off of you, pulling off the condom and tying it off before throwing it out. You crawl under the covers after Drew cleans you both up, a smile on your lips.
He joins you under the covers as you both catch your breath. You look up at your husband and say, "You have a lot to live up to next Valentine's Day."
"I think I already know what I can do," Drew says, leaning in and pecking your lips. You giggle and intertwine your fingers with his as you move onto your side so you're facing him.
Drew moves himself close to you and cups your face, looking at you. Your eyes meet his and you say, "I love you so much."
Your husband says, "I love ya more." A smile forms on his lips as you bury your face into his neck, closing your eyes.
You almost lost this. You almost lost laying in his arms at night when you were feeling upset or just to snuggle after sex. You almost lost him, and you're so glad that you heard him out. You didn't just let him go, because you love him and wanted to work on your relationship.

jotaro kujo song analysis: âeightâ by sleeping at last
i could not figure out what the fuck to title this for a long time. please forgive me ik itâs awkward but itâs the best i got
anyway the song âeightâ by sleeping at last made me mentally ill so letâs get into why <3
hereâs a link to the song:Â https://youtu.be/obi4KCh6eHQ
hereâs a link to the lyrics i referenced:Â https://genius.com/Sleeping-at-last-eight-lyrics
be warned there are part 3, part 4, part 5, and part 6 spoilers in this
with that letâs begin.
âI remember the minute;/it was like a switch was flipped --/i was just a kid who grew up strong enough/to pick this armor up,/and suddenly it fitâ Lengthy first line to start this on i know but cutting it up didnât make sense so please forgive me⌠Alright letâs get to the meat of this hm? This line is about when jotaro first manifested star platinum. âI remember the minute, it was like a switch was flippedâ fits perfectly with how suddenly and obviously star platinum became known to its user, as jotaro first manifests it when heâs in the middle of a fight, a fight star platinum ends very quickly and brutally. The âi was just a kid who grew up strong enough to pick this armor upâ is about jotaro having the willpower to control a stand such as star platinum and not get ill over it. He âgrew up strong enough to pick this armor upâ, this armor being star platinum (which, yes, star platinum is armor more than a weapon because its strength is used to protect. This is stated explicitly in the jin hashimoto song âstar platinumâ which was written specifically with jotaro/star platinum in mind, as the title suggests). It also shows how young jotaro was re the âkidâ description; he was only 17, the youngest jojo up to that point. the âand suddenly it fitâ also mixes with how suddenly star platinum manifested, particularly how jotaro gained passable control over it very quickly
âGod, that was so long ago, long ago, long agoâŚ/I was little, I was weak, I was perfectly naive,/and I grew up too quick.â Another long line im sorry it just doesnt make sense to cut it up đ Anyway this is part 6 jotaro reflecting on his past self, PARTICULARLY part 3 jotaro, which explains the âgod, that was so long ago, long ago, long agoâŚâ segment âI was little, i was weak, i was perfectly naiveâ is kinda gold coming from part 6 jotaro cause end of part 3 jotaro is canonically when heâs at his strongest but i dont think part 6 jotaro is talking about star platinum in this line. Heâs talking about jotaro being tactless and rude and pushing away his loved aways in a disillusioned attempt to keep them safe. By part 6, jotaro has to have known his coping mechanism of self-imposed isolation wasnt fair to his loved ones/himself and it clearly didnt WORK as evidenced by jolyneâs situation, so heâs cursing his younger self for it here. Hence, the calling of part 3 jotaro âlittle, weak, perfectly naive.â part 3 jotaro starts making the bed that part 6 jotaro ends up having to lay in and he hates him for it. The âand I grew up too quickâ part is jotaro acknowledging his trauma. Even before part 3 started jotaro clearly had issues and they just kept building and building and building from part 3 and on. Combined with his self-imposed isolation, jotaro had to grow up quick to survive, and this line is part 6 jotaro reflecting on that
âNow you wonât see all that i have to lose,/all iâve lost in the fight to protect it.â Remember the self-imposed isolation i mentioned in the last line? This line is about why jotaro does that. He hates being vulnerable. He hates relying on others. We only see him comfortable trusting others to take care of things ONCE the entire series, during the steely dan arc, when he believes in kakyoinâs abilities to keep joseph safe and get the lovers out of him safely. ONCE out of the four parts heâs featured in, out of the three heâs prominent in. jotaro does this, as i previously mentioned, out of a disillusioned attempt to keep those he loves safe, hence the ânow you wonât see all that i have to loseâ line. This behavior is solidified in jotaro at the end of stardust crusaders, when the two final times he tried to trust that others would handle it resulted in the deaths of over of half those he cared the most about (he may have gotten joseph back, but donât forget that joseph did actually die). Thus, this decisive night ties into the âall iâve lost in the fight to protect itâ line. Heâs lost loved ones but he wonât lose them again, not in the same way at least. Ironically, the self-imposed isolation only puts his loved ones and himself in danger, but i can get into that later.
âI wonât let you in, i swore never again --/i canât afford, no, i refuse to be rejectedâ This line kinda ties back with what i was mentioning in the last line, but it hones it a bit more on jotaroâs complete denial of being vulnerable rather than how he acts to ensure he isnt such. âI wont let you in, i swore never againâ is a direct tie-in for how jotaro feels after stardust crusaders; he is never going to get as close to anyone or anything the way he was close to the crusaders ever again. Nothing is ever going to matter to him the same way and he is going to make sure of that, as the âswore never againâ implies, because he is certain, at least at first, that this will keep others safe. The âi canât afford, no, i refuse to be rejectedâ part goes into how selfish and arrogant jotaroâs mentality is. Donât get me wrong, jotaroâs self-imposed isolation can be seen as selfless, especially because the main driving force behind it is to keep others safe -- but itâs not the only force driving it. Like i said, jotaro doesnât want to be vulnerable, and to be sure he doesnt feel that way, he needs to ensure he wonât be hurt. Canât be sad when people die if you were never close to them, right? So as much as it is to protect others, he also is protecting himself by closing off from others. Itâs also arrogant of jotaro to assume he is the deciding factor of who lives and dies, that he gets to choose/manipulate the cycle of life and death by deciding on if he opens up to others. Jotaro had this mentality of being a âdeciding factorâ shoved into his head during the journey to egypt, and that kinda warps his worldview as a result; everything must be his fault. Things go bad surely because he let them somehow. And itâs not jotaroâs fault heâs ill in the head like this but it is still arrogant, and the âi canât afford, no, i refuse to be rejectedâ line attests to this.
âI want to break these bones until theyre better/i want to break them right and feel aliveâ Oh jotaro you have the shittiest fuckign coping mechanisms Alright. âI want to break these bones until theyre betterâ ties into jotaro throwing himself into dangerous situations alone. Heâs just so so damn convinced he can handle everything himself -- bc again, he is led to believe he is the deciding factor of life and death -- he just has to try. If things go wrong, itâs bc he didnât try hard enough, hence the âbreak these bones until theyre betterâ; jotaro will hurt himself and will be convinced he deserved it until he âlearnsâ how to be perfect like heâs âsupposedâ to be. But being perfect isnt something you can learn, you mentally ill motherfucker jotaro. anyway âI want to break them right and feel aliveâ ties into the fact jotaro would rather break his body over and over and over rather than tell his loved ones he cares. The only right way to be hurt to him is taking a hit that was meant for those he loves. Jotaro is very much a man of action rather than a man of word, and this line is about his rather unique way of acting (that is, getting beat the fuck up over and over) Basically jotaro canât tell the people he loves that he, well, loves them, unless he is literally dying. Examples of what i mean: jotaro preferred going on a perilous, 50-day journey to just telling holly he loved her; jotaro preferred getting beat over the head with a rock in the lovers arc rather than risk hurting joseph; jotaro preferred to literally get blown up by sheer heart attack rather than tell koichi to his face he is a good kid; jotaro stepped knowingly into a trap for jolyne and had to literally believe he was in fact saying his last words before he uttered âiâve always cherished you.â
âYou were wrong, you were wrong, you were wrong --/my healing needed more than timeâ Oh my GODDDddDDDdcdd im sobbing as i type jotaro your head is so so damn ill Okay so i see him spitting this line towards joseph. Let me explain Joseph would no doubt pick up on jotaroâs ptsd and heâll do his best to console jotaro over the deaths of their friends. But see joseph is ALSO an ill in the head idiot whose idea of therapy is electroshock and who calls ptsd âshell shockâ. So all he can offer to jotaro is âyoull feel better in timeâ because that was kinda true for him; he managed to move on in time. What joseph fails to realize is what made him feel better was not time, but the support of those remaining in his life (lisa lisa, suziq, erina, smokey). But jotaro listens and tries to give it time but the thing with jotaro is he just gets worse and worse as time wears on because he deliberately cut himself off from anyone who could console him (as well as got continually traumatized throughout his life), so time never helped but actually made things worse. Thus jotaro spitting âyou were wrong, you were wrong, you were wrong, my healing needed more than timeâ. In terms of timeline, probably happens right after part 5 jotaro stares longingly at the crusaders picture
âWhen i see fragile things, helpless things, broken things/i see the familiarâ Im sorry every new line i start to analyze i begin crying so im just letting you all know incase the coherency takes a dip (as if this was coherent in the first place lmfao) Anyway so this line in relation to Jotaro is about how he projects HARD on the new generation. We see this w his interactions w josuke and koichi, the âfragile thingsâ (there is no way he didnt see koichi as a filler for kakyoin im sorry. Also he just wants josuke safe with his friends like how he wished he was safe with his own friends as a teenager), how he was wary of giorno, âthe helpless thingsâ (jotaro is scared heâll be similar to his dad, just like jotaro is similar enough to dio to share the same stand powerâŚ), and his interactions w jolyne, âthe broken thingsâ (angry teen in a prison? Come now).Â
âI was little, i was weak, i was perfect too/now iâm a broken mirrorâ Throwback to the second line. Once again part 6 jotaro is reflecting but the difference here is that part 3 was when jotaro was last unashamedly happy, but more than that, part 3 jotaro was on his way to healing before everything went to shit. like i mentioned earlier, jotaro only relies on someone else completely once, and that happens in part 3. Jotaro is finally able to trust in someone elseâs capabilities, which is what he needed to do before he could allow anyone to help him with the weight of the world on his shoulders. Hence, why part 6 jotaro would describe him as âperfectâ; because he wouldâve been perfect enough if he could just trust in others like that again But as the line suggests, that went wrong. Jotaro is now a âbroken mirror,â which alludes to the fact that while he projects onto the kids, the kids (the ones that know him at least) project onto him as well, especially jolyne, because in part 6 she finally figures out her dadâs thought processes, as she is experiencing those patterns of thinking too. Jotaro is a role model for them in the sense of âsee him? Do the opposite of what he didâ KJ;DNJ;DN;SN
âBut i canât let you see all that i have to lose/all that iâve lost in the fight to protect itâ Same meaning as before mostly but the repetition is important me thinks because it mimics jotaro like frantically trying to remind himself why he must be distant when all he wanted to do was go home to jolyne and be her father
âI canât let you in --/ i swore never again,/ i canât afford to let myself be blindsidedâ This means roughly the same thing as the previous line thatâs similar to this, but the âi canât afford to let myself be blindsidedâ is less about jotaroâs selfishness/arrogance and more about how he believes enemies will use his loved ones against him and how goddamn, it would work, it would work so well because jotaro loves so, so damn much Itâs a shame distancing himself didnât work the way he wanted it to and ended up making his loved ones even more vulnerable than they would have been otherwise
âIâm standing guard,/iâm falling apart/and all i want to do is to trust youâ (Begins screaming and doesnât stop) okay so this line is about jotaro and jolyne during the beginning of stone ocean âIm standing guardâ alludes to the fact that jotaro is still desperately trying to appear distant and uninterested even as he attempts to break his fucking daughter out of prison âIâm falling apartâ ties into jotaro failing miserably at remaining cold towards jolyne, how he eventually caves in and tells her he loves her in addition to taking a literal bullet for her, using time stop to ensure he can make it to her to do so. and also this line ties into how he is literally physically shot and how his memories and stand are taken from him âAnd all i want to do is to trust youâ is directed towards jolyne of course. God his whole âiâve always cherished youâ ties in with this line; like i mentioned earlier, jotaro by part 6 knows his self-imposed isolation is useless, but old habits die hard and also he was in very deep by the time he accepted there was no reason to go in the first place at all. So he doesnât know how to change, he doesnât know how to trust jolyne, itâd been 20ish years since he last trusted someone completely, but god he wants to. He wants to trust her. Itâs all he wants to do hence this line
âShow me how to lay my sword down/for long enough to let you throughâ So continuing from the last line, jotaro just wants to let jolyne in. he wants to learn how to do that. I think this line is actually directed towards his younger self; 17 year old jotaro managed to let in a person once, after all (more than one person in fact, but all the crusaders). This would also make more sense w my interpretation of how part 6 jotaro calls part 3 jotaro âperfectâ in this regard Essentially itâs jotaro thumbing through his memories to figure out how his past self gathered the security to trust in someone else wholeheartedly...which makes the fact that pucci steals his memories particularly fucked up in this context
âHere i am, pry me open/what do you want to know?â Another line directed toward jolyne. âHere i am, pry me openâ refers to how after jotaro tells jolyne he cherishes her, all cards are on the table. Heâs shown vulnerability, might as well go full throttle. So, heâs willing to talk to jolyne for the first time ever, especially because sheâs a stand user now âWhat do you want to know?â ties into jotaro being willing to open up, but also the fact that jolyne doesnt really know her dad ):
âIâm just a kid who grew up scared enough/to hold the door shut/and bury my innocenceâ Hhnghg begins wailing this line is again about post-egypt jotaro. A lot of jotaroâs like...emotional maturation (and even some physical) occurred during the trip to egypt and immediately afterward. heâs in pain and desperately trying to rationalize a way he can be in control of never letting something like what happened in egypt happen again, hence the âim just a kid who grew up scared enoughâ âTo hold the door shutâ refers to how jotaro cut off other people, even the people who used to know him very well, like joseph and polnareff and holly âAnd bury my innocenceâ i mentioned this in another line but this bit also refers to how jotaro had to grow up quickly to survive, considering his self-imposed isolation and his life path of chasing down dioâs remnants
âBut hereâs a map, hereâs a shovel/hereâs my Achillesâ heelâ This line is SUPPOSED to be directed toward jolyne but inadvertently it is also directed toward pucci. When jotaro says fuck it and gives up on his pretense of disinterest in jolyne, finally letting her know he loves her, heâs finally building the frame of a bridge to jolyne; heâs ready to do what heâs wanted to for so long, no matter how vulnerable it makes him, and that is to be jolyneâs father. However, pucci takes note of this; he knows to aim for jolyne in the final battle because of jotaroâs earlier actions when he tries breaking jolyne out of prison. It really is a shame how the narrative keeps fucking enforcing jotaroâs shitty self-imposed isolation
âIâm all in, palms out, iâm at your mercy now and iâm ready to begin/i am strong, i am strong, i am strong enough to let you inâ Hmm i imagine this line being when jotaro meets back up with jolyne after he gets his memory disk back. The first thing he does is hug her and cradle her close to him, showing off to the world, right in front of pucci, how much his daughter means to him. But jotaro, at least for the moment, is not scared to be vulnerable anymore. Ever since he decided to give up his cold facade, he was ready to let jolyne in, and he finally has the chance to do that at least a little right before the final battle, which is what this line is about
âIâll shake the ground with all my might/i will pull my whole heart up to the surfaceâ Final battle in stone ocean,,, What the âiâll shake the ground will all my mightâ line refers to is jotaroâs willingness to use star platinum the world during the battle. Heâs ready to go all in to save the world, and most importantly, save jolyne, even if he has to use the source of his greatest trauma to do it. Jotaroâs a key player and he knows it, has known it for a long time, and this time heâs going to use that for his happy ending. And well, as i mentioned in the last line, jotaroâs done with the self-isolation and throws himself into the role of jolyneâs father, at least as much as he has the right to throw himself into. This is mostly what the âi will pull my whole heart up to the surfaceâ line refers to
âFor the innocent, for the vulnerable/iâll show up to the frontlines with a purposeâ More stone ocean final battle. The âinnocent and vulnerableâ jotaro is showing up for are jolyne, namely, but also hermes and emporio, and beyond that, the world. Jotaro understands how serious this is and heâs always been a force meant for protection, so he is here to do just that, which is what the âiâll show up to the frontlines with a purposeâ line refers to. Jotaro doesnt believe heâs a good person -- and he might not be, in the grand scheme of things -- but he does fight for what he believes is right, he always has, he mentions this way back in stardust crusaders during his fight with kakyoin. Heâs never going to let injustice stand, especially not when he knows heâs such a key player
âAnd iâll give all i have, iâll give my blood, give my sweat --/an ocean of tears will spill for what is brokenâ This line actually applies to all the âfinal battlesâ jotaro has been involved in; part 3, part 4, and part 6. Jotaro, as i mentioned in the last line, has a strong sense of justice and is a force that first and foremost tries to protect, which the âiâll give all i have, iââl give my blood, give my sweatâ part of this line refers to. Jotaro gives his all, has given his all, to rid the world of dioâs influence, he ruined his entire fucking life to do so, and this line gives credence to that. âAn ocean of tears will spill for what is brokenâ refers to jotaro mourning all the what-ifs in his life, which are all tied with how the outcomes of these final battles go. If part 3 didnt end the way it did, jotaro would know how to trust still, he wouldve been happy even, maybe he wouldnt have had to sacrifice the rest of his life to dio; if part 4 didnât end the way it did, maybe jotaro couldve gone home to his daughter, maybe he couldve been a bit of a better dad (this is because kids were involved in part 4 even if they didnât try to because stand users attract stand users, and jotaro couldnt risk doing that to his daughter, so he ends up never coming home); and now for part 6, jotaro hopes that if it ends just a little better than the previous two, jotaro could at least died a satisfying death of sacrificing himself for jolyne, or maybe even got a chance to try mending his relationship with jolyne if they both survive
âIâm shattered porcelain, glued back together againâ So this line speaks to both physical and emotional states Jotaro was physically âshattered porcelainâ when he lost his stand and memory and also was shot, and he was âglued back together againâ when he got medical attention and jolyne got back his disks Jotaro was emotionally âshattered porcelainâ due to the fact he couldnt trust anyone completely since he was 17 goddamn years old but heâs âglued back together againâ in the sense heâs ready to finally, finally try and be vulnerable in order to save his relationship with jolyne
âInvincible like iâve never beenâ This line hurts so fucking much because i believe jotaro was optimistic, all things considered, at the beginning of the final fight in stone ocean. After all, he knows heâs an important figure in all this, he has his stand disk and memories back, he and jolyne and the others have a plan, and he has a future he wants to fight for in addition to the worldâs continued functioning So he feels âinvincibleâ like heâs never felt before because not even during the part 3 final battle with dio did he have the hope for the future he has now. But then. Then pucci brings out the knives. And the man who could control time never had enough in the end. He dies and cant even save jolyne with his death. The world ends. He failed. I think this is perfectly represented with how suddenly the song ends. It just perfectly encapsulates the tragedy that is jotaro kujo and i cant stop fucking thinking about it
thanks for reading all this if you did. jotaro kujo makes me feel mentally ill

One Simple Mistake
It has long been decided one rule: NEVER leave the coffee grinds can out on the counter. One day though, someone forgets to put the coffee grinds away and suffers the DRASTIC consequences...
This is LATE! But, it's still relevant. Therefore:
Tickletober Day 23: Asking For It
It had started off like any other morning. The coffee-drinking sides had gotten their coffee, and put them back in the usual hiding spot. This was to prevent certain people from getting tempted into overdosing themselves on caffeine. It was always known that certain sides shouldnât touch coffee grinds. Not even with a 10 foot pole! Cause theyâll find a way to get the coffee grinds into their system and go insane from an overdose. To prevent such overdoses, the coffee-drinking sides made a rule: after using the coffee grinds, always put the coffee away or hope you have the energy to handle the consequencesâŚ
But this morning, someone had accidentally left the can of coffee grinds out on the counter. It was one simple mistake...One tiny mistakeâŚbut even a simple mistake like that, had DIRE consequences:
âMmmm! Thatâs that GOOD! SHIT!â someone reacted in the kitchen.
âACID, BEER, COCAINE, AND DICK!â someone else shouted loudly.
âHAHAHAHA! Youâre worse than Remus!â the 1st person laughed.
Logan groaned from tiredness and put his glasses on before walking out of his room. The people in the kitchen were gonna wake up the whole imagination at this rate! Logan was already awake. Did anyone else wake up yet?
âLogan?â someone asked beside him. Logan looked to his left, and smiled when he recognized the slightly blurry kitten onesie. âWas that you shouting profanities?â Patton asked.
Logan scoffed. âOh please...I would say no such thing.â Logan replied.
âThen...who is?â Patton asked.
âI would suggest it was Remus, but...the last loud statement had proven me otherwise.â Logan told him.
âI FEEL AMAZING! LIKE I COULD KILL A PERSON!â Roman shouted.
Virgil bursted out laughing. âA KILLING SPREE: REMUS! VS. ROMAN!â Virgil joked and continued to laugh hysterically.
Patton dropped his jaw. âROMAN?!â He shouted. He looked beside him and blinked in surprise. âAND VIRGIL?!â Patton shouted at him as well.
Virgil turned around and gulped. âOopsâŚâ He thought aloud.
âQUICK VIRGIL! ATTAAAAACK!â â Roman shouted, grabbing his hand and sprinting towards Patton.
âWhat the- OHGODNO!â Patton did a full 180 and took off screaming in horror! Roman was shouting a war cry and chasing Patton, while Virgil was screaming from being pulled absolutely everywhere. Logan, realizing he wasnât enjoying being pulled, grabbed onto Virgilâs waist and pulled him out or Romanâs hand. Thankfully, Roman didnât complain about losing Virgil and just continued to chase the screaming Patton.
âYou okay, Virgil?â Logan asked.
âIhihi...Ihiâm fine...I think.â Virgil replied. âI donât think the coffee has kicked in yet. I had a couple cups of coffee a few minutes ago, so...I just have to wait.â Virgil admitted.
Logan looked at him. âH-...How did you find the coffee can?â Logan asked.
Virgil shrugged his shoulders. âI dunno. It was out on the counter this morning. Thought a cup wouldnât hurt. But then one cup became 2.â Virgil explained, before lifting up his mostly empty cup to finish his coffee.
Logan pointed at the mug. âWhat number was that?â Logan asked.
Virgil lowered the mug, revealing his slight coffee mustache. He looked at Logan and blinked. âNumber 4.â he replied before putting some tap water into his mug.
Logan sighed and rubbed his nose. â...And how many cups has Roman had?â Logan asked.
Virgil made an âI donât knowâ humming sound before dumping the slightly coffee-colored water down the drain. Logan walked up to the can of coffee and placed it in the secret hiding spot. âOooooh...So thatâs where itâs been?â Virgil muttered out loud.
Logan turned around and pointed his index finger at him. âDonât tell Roman.â Logan warned.
Virgil smiled. âOkay.â He replied.
[An Hour Later]
âCOME ON AND SLAM! AND WELCOME TO THE JAM! COME ON AND SLAM! IF YOU WANNA JAM!â Roman shouted, pretending to play basketball.
Virgil was giggling and laughing at the man. âGot any other songs you remember?â Virgil asked.
Roman gasped and snapped his fingers at Virgil. âTHEREâS A HUNDRED AND FOUR DAYS OF SUMMER VACATION, AND SCHOOL COMES ALONG JUST TO END IIIT!â Roman shouted.
âAND THE ANNUAL PROBLEM, FOR OUR GENERATION IS FINDING A GOOD WAY TO SPEEEND IIITâŚâ Virgil continued.
âLIKE MAYBE!â
âBUILDING A ROCKET,â Roman shouted.
âOR FIGHTING A MUMMY,â Virgil continued.
âOR CLIMBING UP THE EIFFEL TOWER!â Roman continued, while Virgil conducted the âtrumpet bandâ.
âDISCOVERING SOMETHING THAT DOESNâT EXIST-â Virgil shouted and pointed to Roman.
âMY GIRLFRIEND!â Roman shouted back.
Virgil bursted out laughing! âHAHA! OHOR GIVING A MONKEY A SHOWER!â Virgil continued.
âBOOM, BOOM, BOOM, BOOM! SURFING TITLE WAVES,â Roman shouted.
âCREATING NANO BOTS, OR-â
Roman joined Virgil. âLOCATING FRANKENSTEINâS BRAIN!â
âITâS OVER HERE!â Virgil added. âFINDING A DODO BIRD,â
âCREATING A COTTON LAYER, AND-â
Virgil joined Roman. âDRIVING OUR SISTER INSAAANE!â They shouted.
âPhInEaS!â Roman screamed in a mock girly voice.
âAS YOU CAN SEE, THEREâS A WHOLE LOT OF StUFF TO DO BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS THIS FALL,â Virgil sang.
Roman pointed to Patton. âCOME ON, PERRY!â Roman shouted.
âSO STICK WITH US CAUSE PHINEAS AND FERB ARE GONNA, DO IIIT, AAAALLLL!â Roman sang.
Virgil pretended to rock the electric guitar while they both started screaming the last part: âSO STICK WITH US CAUSE PHINEAS AND FERB ARE GONNA, DO IIIT AAAAALL.â
To end it all off, Roman ran up to Logan and started waving and puppeteering the manâs arms. âMoOom! PhInEaS aNd FeRb ArE MaKiNg A tItLe SeQuEnCe!â Roman said in his mock girly voice. Roman put Loganâs hands down as Virgil strummed the last loud guitar note.
Patton giggled and clapped his hands. âThat was great, you two!â Patton cheered.
Virgil got back up and snuggle-hugged him. âThank you Pat.â he replied happily.
Roman was just laughing and pointing at Logan. âGood job playing Candace, by the way!â Roman complimented.
âI had no choice.â Logan reminded him.
âThatâs besides the point.â Roman muttered as he lightly punched his shoulder.
Patton was squeaking and giggling at the affection he was getting. âYohouâre so affectionate like this!â Patton reacted.
Virgil smiled at this and playfully shook his hair right into the side of Pattonâs neck. Patton squeaked in surprise and let out some giggles! âHEHehehe! Vihihirgihihil! Thahahat tihihihicklehes!â Patton giggled up a storm.
Virgil brought his head back. âAwww! Ticklish, Pat?â Virgil asked with a smirk. Patton giggled more and nodded. âPerfect!â Virgil declared as he tickled Pattonâs belly.
Patton doubled over and guffawed. âHAHAHA! WAHAHAHAIT! LOHOHO HEHEHELP!â Patton shouted.
Logan walked up to help him, but was stopped by a prince with a shit-eating grin on his face. âOne single step forward...and Iâll tickle you till you lose all touch with reality.â Roman warned.
Logan lifted an eyebrow as he took a step forward. âSounds like attempted murder to me.â Logan added.
Roman tripped Logan from behind and laid him down. âNot if itâs screams of laughter!â Roman declared. Roman started skittering his fingers on Loganâs ribs and sides. Logan jolted in surprise and tried to hold his laughter in. âOoooh! Gonna hold out on me, huh? Tell me: how many times have you simply laughed on the Sanders Sides channel?â Roman asked as he paused his tickling.
Logan let out his breath and breathed somewhat heavily. Then, he tried to think. But the truth was, Roman was right: He has never truly laughed on screen! The one laugh he DID let out, was simply a half-assed âHaâ. And knowing Roman, that wonât count.
âThatâs right! A big, flat, none! Therefore: LAUGH FOR ME!â Roman shouted before immediately blowing a raspberry right onto his core!
âGAHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA! AAAHAHAHAHEHEHEHEHEHE!â Logan bursted out loudly.
Roman gasped and only continued to tickle him with his fingers. âYAY! AFTER ALL THIS TIME, YOU HAVE A LAUGH! VIRGIL! LOGAN HAS A LAUGH!â Roman shouted happily.
âI can hear that!â Virgil reacted. âAnd so does Patton!â Virgil added as he blew a raspberry on Pattonâs neck.
âEEEEEEHEHEHEHEHEhehehe!â Patton laughed, curling his neck in.
To get Patton on the ground, Virgil gently tripped him and laid him down right beside the laughing Logan! But seeing Logan laughing like this, only made Patton wanna tickle him too!
But Virgil decided to squeeze his hips anyway. âCoochy coochy coo, Patty!â Virgil teased.
âWAHAHAHA-WAHAHAHAIT! IHIHIHI WAHAHAHANNAAAA-HEHEHEHELP!â Patton shouted to Virgil.
Virgil lifted an eyebrow in confusion. âHelp? With what?â Virgil asked, pausing his tickling for a moment.
As Patton breathed heavily to regain his oxygen, Patton gave Loganâs closest side a squeeze. Logan squeaked! âAAAAHAHAAA!â Logan turned himself onto his left side. PAHAHAHAHAT!â Logan yelled.
âWhahat? Canât handle another tihickle monster?â Patton asked, still slightly giggly himself.
âNOHOHOHOHOHO! TOHOHOHO MAHAHAHANY!!â Logan shouted.
Patton, Virgil and Roman all attacked Logan from all angles! It was now 3 to 1, (a completely unfair fight), and Logan felt like he was gonna die laughing! And yet...He was loving it! Something about laughing really hard after not laughing for years, seemed to feel amazing to the nerd. Maybe...psychological based? Logan may have to review the psychology theories again to come up with a more specific answer.
âTHEHEHE MOHOHORE YOHOHOU GUYS TIHIHICKLEHE MEHEHE, THEHEHE MOHOHORE REHEHEVEHEHENGE IHIâLL DIHISH OHOHOUT! IHIHI HOHOPE YOHOHOHOU KNOHOHOW THAHAHAHAT!â Logan warned.
âOh No! Iâm So ScArEd!â Roman teased.
âYoU pOoR bAbY! pOoR lOgEy Is TiCkLiSh!â Patton teased.
âIt's a shame that EvErYoNe is taking advantage.â Virgil added.
Everyone continued to destroy Logan with tickles just about everywhere on his body. Logan was LITERALLY GOING INSANE! YES! MORE TICKLES! If this is what itâs like having Roman and Virgil on caffeine highs, Logan needs to leave the coffee out a lot more!
Suddenly though, all the tickling stopped! And a bunch of yelps and shouts of surprise filled the room for a few seconds! Logan opened his eyes little by little and adjusted his glasses. What...happened?
Loganâs eyes widened when he noticed the 3 sides being held up against the wall by octopus arms! âI KNEW this would happen! No one can truly handle the GREAT, POWERFUL ROMAN on CAFFEINE!â Someone shouted in front of him. Logan sighed as he recognized the manic voice.
Remus.
âREMUS! LET GO!â Roman shouted at him.
Remus gasped and placed a hand on his chest in offense. âSuch anger running through your veins! I must change that as soon as I can.â Remus declared as he summoned some floating green feathers.
Roman shrieked in horror and watched nervously as the feathers fluttered around his body and leaned in closer to his ticklish spots. Roman couldnât stop the wobbly smile from forming on his face.
Remus giggled evilly and summoned more feathers to surround the two other sides. âAny last words before your ticklish fantasies finally come true?â Remus asked the three of them.
Patton gulped as the feathers neared his feet and belly. Those spots were the ILLEGAL spots!
Virgil tried to glare at the dark side, but his glare was quickly turned into a wobbly smile due to the feathers fluttering right over his neck and belly button.
And Romanâs whimpers faded into giggles as his ears were touched only the slightest bit.
âWould you like to help, Logan?â Remus offered.
Logan stood up and watched as all 3 of his friends were overcome by laughs and giggles, thanks to the many fluttering feathers. Logan had the mental sense to save them. But when Logan thought about it more, he realized his 3 best friends were also the 3 lers in the group, who were just asking to be destroyed! So:
âOkay.â Logan replied.
Logan happily helped Remus and the feathers with the tickles, and reduced his friends into wholesome messes of laughter all in the name of revenge. Logan knew the boys were gonna get it eventually. What Logan DIDNâT expect, was Remusâs eventual involvement.
But to be honest: He couldnât have it any other way.

detention ⢠bill denbrough
requested bill x reader : )
warnings: swearing, mentions of drinking, i think some sexual themes, and georgie denbrough: wingman of the century
this is like 3.5k god
[losers + reader are 17 in this]
âĄ
as you lean forward on your arms and suppress a groan, you silently wish you could be anywhere else right now. you're stuck sitting in detention, the white room empty except for the teacher lounging up front and two other students. you're staring at the clock, willing for it to hurry up and hit 4:30 so you can leave already. it's only 3:16. you groan quietly, wishing you'd never been caught scribbling graffiti in the bathroom.
you start to itch because you can basically feel eyes burning holes into the back of your head and you know it's from bill denbrough because the only other student in detention was bill's friend beverly marsh, who was dead-asleep in her seat next to bill.
you fucking loathed bill denbrough, although you didn't talk to him almost ever. you're not totally sure why, maybe it's his stupid confidence, his loud friend group (although they're all pretty nice), the fact that he's captain of the baseball team, or just because of the way he treats you. frankly, everybody that you know loves him, and that alone gives you enough motivation to resent him.
you'd met him freshman year in your shared algebra class and you'd thought he was really cute, until you heard him open his mouth. it was long ago enough that you don't remember what he'd said, but he'd made an offhand comment about you that had embarrassed you in front of the whole class. even though you can't remember what he'd said, you remember how you felt and his stupid fucking smirk and you're still very bitter.
so, you throw him glares whenever you see him - in the halls, at football games, and especially at parties after you've had a few too many fireball shots. you even stopped going to the pool where he works as a lifeguard during the summers. you don't feel bad when you say rude things to or about him because it's not like bill has ever treated you with an ounce of respect.
bev letting out a soft snore makes you snap out of your thoughts. she was actually pretty great - you'd shared a smoke with her and richie tozier a few times, so if she were awake you might've talked with her. but she's out cold, so your only options are talking to bill, trying to talk to the teacher who's name you didn't even know, or staying silent and waiting until you could leave.
looks like you're going mute until 4:30.
suddenly you feel something light hit your shoulder and you look down to see a wadded gum wrapper. you roll your eyes but don't say anything, even when you hear a soft snicker and feel another soft thud.
"alright, i gotta go use the john. i'll be right back, so don't try to pull anything fast on me." the teacher announces a few minutes later, dropping his book onto the desk loud enough to jolt beverly awake. you snort when you see her wipe her mouth with the corner of her sleeve. "and you can talk to each other, you know. this isn't breakfast club." the teacher says with a smile that makes you want to punch him.
as soon as the teacher's gone, beverly's up on her feet, slinging her bag onto her shoulder. "right, well this is kind of my window of opportunity. i'm gonna dip, later billy. bye, y/n." she says, saluting the both of you before walking straight out of the room.
your jaw drops. "can she do that?" you ask in bewilderment as the door closes. you don't even care that it's bill you're speaking to.
you hear bill laugh, "we c-can do a-anything. it's called confidence. but i guess y-you wouldn't kn-know." he taunts, his voice snarky. you roll your eyes, "well i don't see you walking out with her." you mumble, leaning back in your chair but refusing to turn around and look at him. you'd probably hit him if you had to see that stupid fucking smirk. or those green fucking eyes. or those fucking muscles. Â
"well if i left now, i'd b-be robbed of some q-quality time with such p-pleasant company." he says, voice dripping with sarcasm. god, you loathed him. Â
"shut the fuck up, bill. you're such a dick." you spit out, mumbling the last part as you glare at the door, wishing the teacher would come back soon.
"r-right. i forgot you were so s-sensitive." he snarks. you roll your eyes. he's such a prick. "well you're a douchebag. you're so fucking immature! who throws wrappers? this isn't third fucking grade." you spit, spinning fully in your chair to face him.
his feet are kicked up on the desk in front of him, his green hoodie bringing out his eyes. holy shit. your throat goes momentarily dry. you resent him so much but shit, he is so fucking hot. Â
"that was bev, not me." he says casually, a smirk playing on his lips. you pretend not to notice his dimple or his hair, glinting under the ugly fluorescent lights. "she was asleep!" you hiss in utter disbelief that he would try such a blatant lie. he just laughs with a shrug, his mouth opening to retort, but the door opens and the teacher comes back in.
you spin back around, looking to the teacher as he frowns, "where's marsh?" he asks, becoming increasingly angrier. "who, sir?" bill pipes up. you can practically hear his smirk. "it's a-always just been us."
the man frowns, glaring at the two of you. "don't move." he says, pointing at bill and you before turning on his heel to leave again, storming off to try and find bev. you blink, "well that was a freebie."
you hear bill snort. "he's never going to f-find her."
you nod, smiling a bit. "yeah, no way. he's probably going to give up soon. teachers always get tired of this shit."
"well they're not paid enough." bill says and you hear him moving behind you. your eyebrows raise, shocked that he'd say something so... sensible. you kind of just assumed he was a meat head who only cared about himself. bill stands, walking over to where you sit on top of your desk. he leans against the one across the aisle from you.
"that's true. maybe i should leave, just to get out of his hair." you joke. he snorts, running a hand through his hair.
"i m-mean, i'm sure he's g-going to be gone until f-four thirty. he p-probably wouldn't even n-notice." bill plays along. you try not to let yourself fall into what you assume is some dumb trap - but you find yourself liking talking to him. he's still fucking annoying, though. "knowing y-you, you'd probably s-snitch, though." he says with a grin.
you glare at him, "that was one time, two years ago. get over yourself." you spit, a teasing lilt to your voice. he rolls his eyes. "s-says you, y/l/n."
you scowl again as he smirks. "and what's that supposed to mean?" you asks, your lips slightly curling and your attitude giving way to his teasing glance. he just shrugs, "n-nevermind. you know, b-besides the chronic s-sarcasm, st-stubborness, selfishness, and p-pessimism, you're not bad, y/n." he says, looking at you with inquisitive eyes. you snort, "gee, you really know how to make a girl swoon, bill."
he raises his eyebrows as if to prove his point and you have to look away before he catches on to your blush. "yeah, well. i'm still not too sure about you." you bite back, holding back a smile. he chuckles, his smile genuine and kind of making your stomach flutter. you almost punch yourself in the stomach for its betrayal. "what d-do i have to do to p-prove to you, y/n?" he whispers, pushing himself off the desk and taking a step towards you. you raise an eyebrow - if you didn't know any better, you'd say he was flirting. you hum, tapping your fingers on your thighs. "you can give me a ride home. i don't want to walk." you say with a lifted eyebrow. he may be annoying, but he has a car and you don't want to get caught, you figure he'll be a quick getaway. he grins, walking to grab his backpack. "l-lets go then, princess." he says sarcastically, making you flip him off, bending over to grab your bag and hide your blush.
bill's car is littered with empty energy drink cans, an empty fanny pack that he insisted wasn't his after your intense bullying, and his baseball bat bag in the back. he drives with one arm on the wheel and one on the center console, music playing quietly. it's a little awkward because every time one of you speaks, the other rolls their eyes and quips back something rude.
you're giving him directions but he doesn't really seem to be listening. suddenly he gets into the right lane and you sit up, looking at him like he's crazy. "my house is over there, bill." you say, pointing to the left as he turns right. he nods, keeping his eyes on the road, "sorry, w-we've got to m-make a quick st-stop."
you look at him incredulously. "what? i have my phone, you know. people will know how to track me if you murder me."
he laughs, the warm sun glinting his hair and making it glow more auburn than usual. "y-yeah, whatever. it w-won't take long. if its th-that bad, i'll buy you a m-milkshake." he reasons with an eye roll.
you knew he was being sarcastic, but you wanted to make him pay, literally, for wasting your time. "fine, but i'm getting a large. and i'm not joking." you say as he parks the car. "fine. w-whatever gets you to sh-shut up." he mutters. you snort in annoyance, looking out the window as he pulls up to an elementary school. what the hell? he lifts his brows, "but i th-thought you wanted to g-get away from me as q-quick as possible." he says with a smirk. you shrug. "free ice cream is free ice cream, no matter how shitty the company." you say with an innocent smile. he rolls his eyes but the teasing look in his eyes remains as he shakes his head at you. "y-you asshole."
you have to turn your head to conceal your grin.
it's silent in bill's car so you almost jump when hands slam against your window, making you squeal in surprise as you look up from your phone and your eyes meet another pair. "who are you?" the boy on the outside of the car asks, voice muffled by the window barrier. he can't be more than ten, and has sandy brown hair and a fucking adorable grin. you blink as bill rolls your window down, "g-get in the b-back, georgie." he says, the boy immediately obliging and jumping into the back with energy.
bill looks at you, his cheeks slightly pink and you try not to let yourself like him a little more now that you know that he picks his little brother up from school. kind of sweet for a boy like bill. certainly unexpected.
"who are you?" georgie asks again, staring at you with curious doe eyes. you smile awkwardly. "um, i'm y/n. w-we go to school together." you gesture to bill awkwardly.
"th-this is my brother georgie." bill explains, gesturing to the back as he pulls out of the parking spot. you nod at the obvious statement. "obviously. guess it's good to know you're not just kidnapping some kid." you mumble, making bill laugh. you grin despite yourself. georgie perks up, not having heard what you said. "what's so funny, billy? is it y/n?" he asks, pronouncing your name slightly wrong. you smile, lifting a brow at bill.
something about this car ride is making you see him in a new light - bill listens so intently to what georgie says, who in turn asks a million questions about bill's day and even yours. it's cute, their relationship.
when he pulls ups outside of what you assume is the denbrough house, bill turns back to look at his younger brother. "are you guys dating? are you going to kiss her? you should kiss her, billy!" georgie giggles, asking with genuine curiosity. you have to bite your hand to stop from screaming, feeling absolutely mortified. bill looks just as exasperated. "g-georgie, get out of the car." "but where are you going?" georgie asks. "i'm t-taking her home, g-georgie. go get st-started on your homework and i'll b-be back to help in a little." bill says with a groan, avoiding looking at you. "okay, bye billy! bye, y/n!" the boy says, completely oblivious to how awkward he'd just made it. as soon as he's gone, you look at bill. his jaw is clenched as he throws the car in reverse, speeding out of his neighborhood. it's awkward now, and you're so uncomfortable that you blurt out the first thing you can think of, "so are you still gonna get me that shake?"
bill seems to bounce back almost immediately from that awkward drive to his house, looking at you with a blinding and cocky smile. "f-fine, but don't expect me to have f-f-fun or anything." "i would never dream of it, bill." you say with a teasing smile of your own. "wouldn't want to tarnish your reputation, golden boy."
you moan, spooning a bite of your shake into your mouth. "thank you, bill. this is very much deserved, you know. i think i forgive you for kidnapping me." you tease, knowing you're being immature but kind of really liking the way he looks when you push his buttons. bill scoffs, "i sn-snuck you out of d-detention and b-bought you a shake, if that's c-considered kidnapping then y-you're lucky." you laugh softly, admiring his side profile as his car coasts down derry's main street. the sun's almost setting by now, and despite your better judgement you find yourself enjoying bill's company. "my fucking hero. you're quite a character, you know." you say sarcastically, but adding the second part softly. "y-you too, y/l/n. i-if you weren't so stubborn i th-think we'd be p-pretty close." "oh, is that so?" you ask slyly, your stomach swimming with butterflies as bill pulls up to a stoplight and looks at you, suddenly flustered. "i-i didn't mean- w-well, i j-just meant-"
you cut him off with a hand to his arm, the red from the stoplight glinting onto his face and making him look handsome in the shadows. "i'm just messing with you, bill." you say softly, "i think i was... wrong about you. for the most part."
he smirks, leaning towards you when he notices that your hand is still around his arm. you blush more at the proximity than your hand still being on him, but you pull your hand back to your lap. "so are y-you gonna c-confess that you've b-been in love with me for y-years, y/n?" he asks teasingly. you scoff, unable to help it when your eyes trail to his lips quickly. but you still roll your eyes. what a dick.
"you fucking wish." you say back, staring at him as he leans closer and for a second you think he's going to fucking kiss you but a loud honk makes you both jump.
neither of you have noticed that the light's turned green.
"fuck." bill mutters lowly, groaning. you bite your lip, trying to stop your mind from taking that noise out of context, instead staring ahead as he turns into your neighborhood. it's only a few minutes of silence until you tell him to pull over into your driveway. your milkshake was now gone and you sigh as he throws his car into park.
"thank you for the ride home. and for the shake." you say with a smile. he grins at you, shrugging as if to say it was no big deal.
"n-no problem." he mutters, staring at you. "you're not as an-nnoying as i thought. i didn't totally h-hate it." he teases, making you snort. you use your empty cup as an excuse to lean over the center console and get closer to him. he watches you with slightly hooded eyes and a smirk that kind of makes you want to slap him, but also kiss him.
"so, do you pull these moves on all the girls? have you turned georgie into your little wingman?" you tease.
he blushes as he undoes his seatbelt, prompting you to do the same. "n-not at all, oh my g-god. he's used to r-richie or eddie being in the car, s-so he p-probably a-assumed... i mean, he's... he's a kid. d-doesn't know what h-he's saying." he shrugs, stumbling through his words. you don't mind, though.
you smile, biting your lip when you notice his eyes flicker down to your mouth, "i don't know, i think he was onto something." you whisper. bill hums, boldly placing his hand on your cheek. his eyes are still trained on your lips. you flush under his touch, his hand feeling huge against you. you're extremely nervous and yet very, very excited.
"well i'd h-hate to disappoint him. o-or you, princess."
"too late. you disappoint me every day." you tease, your smile giving yourself away at his nickname. he chuckles, his thumb stroking your cheekbone slightly, "sh-shut up." he mumbles lowly.
and then he's pulling your lips to his.
you breathe in through your nose, hands immediately coming up to his shoulders as your body leans against the console, kissing him back. it's soft at first, and his lips are plush and he's squeezing your hips.
you never imagined that you'd like kissing bill denbrough, let alone that he'd be this good. you sigh quietly as he deepens the kiss, his other hand falling to your waist. one of your hands goes to the back of his neck, threading your fingers into the hair at the nape of his neck. his hand brushes your hair behind your ear as he kisses you passionately. he breaks the kiss slowly, your lips staying together slightly as he pulls away. he kisses you again softly and quickly before pulling all the way back.
you stare at him, a smile unable to stop itself from covering your face. you don't feel embarrassed, though, because bill's got one identical to yours. the way bill's looking at you makes you feel embarrassed; you've always treated each other unfairly but he's actually a pretty great guy. it's quiet until you hear a window slide closed up at your house, and you clear your throat.
"um, i should... i should probably go get started on homework." you say, sure that your blush is evident. he's smirking at you as you stumble awkwardly through your sentence. he hums in agreement, watching your every move. your face is on fire, but as you turn to him, opening the door to leave, you lean back in, pressing another kiss to his lips. he chases your face as you pull away, and you bite your lips as you smile at him.
"g-goodnight, y/n." he says as you shut the door. you lean slightly on the open window, looking at him. you really want to stay, but you know you have to go in. "thanks, bill. goodnight." you whisper, pulling away from the car with a shy wave, turning to go up to your front door.
"i still kind of h-hate you, but i b-better see you again sometime s-soon!" he calls as you make your way through your lawn. you smile at his words, feeling excited.
"well take me out then, denbrough!" you say, turning to walk backwards up your lawn. he's grinning at you from his car.
"f-friday! i'll pick you up at s-seven. i promise g-georgie won't be there!" he calls, ducking to maintain eye contact. you giggle, nodding, "alright, bill. i'll see you then." you say, waving and turning around to jog up the steps to your front door.
you giggle to yourself, feeling giddy as you think about the complete 180 of how you perceived bill from this morning to now. he's got you blushing like a middle schooler who just had her first kiss, and you love it.
maybe bill wasn't as bad as you thought.

The Joker x Reader -Â âTrappedâ Part 3
Almost one year ago, someone tried to kill The Joker in a speeding car and Y/N pushed him out of the way, getting hit instead. With a fractured skull and broken bones, she was out of business for 6 months; when she finally recovered, The Queen of Gotham wasnât the same anymore. Trapped inside her own mind and exhibiting severe cognitive impairment, Y/Nâs life switched upside down without any hope of ever returning to normal.
Part 1Â Â Â Â Part 2Â Â Â Part 4Â Â Â Part 5
Same day, later in the evening
âWhat are you doing, Pumpkin?â The Joker crawls next to you although he has an idea about why you look upset.
Youâre on your tummy scribbling on a piece of paper and he can tell you are concentrating hard while working on the current project: writing down your name. Only got the first three letters then the rest went blank.
âIâŚ.I canât thinkâŚâ you intensely stare at the blue pen in between your fingers.
âOf course you can!â J reaches over so he can guide your arm since itâs clear you need help. âThere you go⌠done. Now try to copy it bellow, alright?â
âHm?â
âTry again Princess,â he taps on the sheet and watches Y/N struggling to imitate the word. âWell done!â The King of Gotham praises. âWanna give it a shot with a few more simple words?â
âMmmmâŚâ you debate. âOK?...â
You analyze The Jokerâs movements as he depicts four letter words, one of them getting your attention in particular.
âLove?â you smile, happy you deciphered the meaning.
âYes, a basicâŚâ
âLove?â you scoot over, more and more excited and it clicks for your boyfriend.
âItâs just an example for you to exercise and relearn how to write, understand? It doesnât mean anything!â
You giggle and touch his nose with yours.
âLove!â
âNo Pumpkin! I donât love you, how did you get such atrocity from my note??!! It has no hidden meaning! I barely, from very afar, remotely, not even similar to love, sort of like you and thatâs it!â
You snicker and quickly slide to grab the yellow teddy bear, whispering in its ear:
âLove.â
âArenât you listening Princess?? Donât start fake rumors!!â
StillâŚY/N lives on her own little planet and her damaged brain grasped a wonderful concept despite The Clown vehemently dismissing his actions.
âServes me right for being supportive,â he grumbles and resorts to diversion, the best weapon against your new found logic.
âWanna read to me?â he points at the pile of childrenâs books resting on the nightstand: they are the best to use in your present circumstance.
â⌠⌠Read?... â you ask, confused.
âHere,â J picks a random publication and gives it to you.
Might as well fully take advantage.
âSpoil me!â he buries his cheeks in your cleavage, guiding your free hand towards his green locks.
You never figured out how he doesnât suffocate with his face glued to your skin; sometimes he sleeps like that for hours. Must be a special talent.
âThe ⌠ummm⌠theâŚ. The duckâŚâ you read the first page and massage his scalp, frowning at the words you canât make sense of. âCross⌠⌠crossed?...â Â
âYeah,â The Jokerâs mumbled voice agrees.
â⌠the⌠g-glassâŚâ you stutter at the sentence.
âGrass,â J corrects you.
âHm?...â
âGrass Pumpkin, not glass.â
âUmmm⌠grassâŚâ you continue to read the best way you can and he rectifies your errors until no more sounds emerge: The King is softly purring, a clear indication heâs dreaming.
You toss the book on the floor, fed up with the difficult task of organizing your thoughts; pampering him is better. You slowly tilt his head backwards so you can kiss him: The Joker frowns in his daze and you pinch his butt, chuckling.
âWhat is it?â he opens one eye and you pull down on his boxers. âPrincess, we had sex an hour ago. Do you think I run on batteries?â the complaint is fast to follow.
... ⌠⌠Batteries?... ⌠                     Â
You jump from the bed and stump to the closet, fumbling around for a couple of minutes before returning to a puzzled Clown.
You stretch the elastic of his underwear, dropping two batteries you snatched from the flashlight inside.
âHow⌠how long do we w-wait?â you innocently ask.
The Joker bites his lip, attempting to contain himself yet he canât: he bursts out laughing at your quirky solution while dragging you on top of him.
âYouâre the funniest and smartest person I know, Pumpkin!â he cracks up, actually convinced heâs telling the truth. âWhoâs my clever girl, huh?â
Heâs talking about a girl againâŚWhat girl?...
Y/N peeks behind her and J reminds his baffled half:
âFor Godâs sake, Princess! Iâm talking about you; youâre my girl! Can you get my phone?â he gestures at his mobile ringing by your pillow.
You give the cell to J, ignoring his conversation with Frost: you keep kissing him with the sole purpose of getting undivided affection.
âI guess Adam is here to pick up the cars you damaged,â he finally ends his chat. âLetâs go supervise the process. Donât be disappointed, Pumpkin, weâll have fun later. Itâs your fault for destroying my collection!â
****************
The Joker watches his crew sweeping the concrete in the garage: broken glass, pieces of metal and debris scattered on the pavement after his vehicles were hauled inside huge trucks in order to be transported to Adamâs workshop for repairs.
âThanks a lot, Y/N!â he growls, frustrated.
âY-youâre welcome,â you serenely reply without a care in the universe.
âYouâre the worst thing that ever happened to me, Princess!â he huffs at your indifference.
âLove,â you confess to the fluffy toy squished in your embrace.
âI heard that and itâs an aberration! Why do you keep persisting with this nonsense?! Iâm literally stating the opposite!â J admonishes but whoâs listening to him?
Not Y/N.
âNolan is texting me,â he changes subject. âHe wants me to meet him at his warehouse to inspect the boxes of ammo for the deal. Will you accompany me?â
âHm?â
âCar ride?â The King of Gotham simplifies his request.
âU-hum!â you nod, preparing to enter the purple Lamborghini which luckily wasnât in the garage when you smashed Jâs cars.
âFrost, if you see me parked up the street in the driving alley, donât come investigate, got it? This womanâs been pestering me for extracurricular activities, might not make it inside the mansion.â
âOf course, sir!â Jonny finds it wise to consent to his bossâs rambling.
âTell everyone: if the Lamborghiniâs rockinâ, donât come knockinâ!â
**************
Youâre sitting on Jâs lap, completely blocking the arrangements happening at the table: youâre more preoccupied with your game than whatever it is they are negotiating about.
âWhat are you playing, Y/N?â Nolan curiously inquires because your thumbs are surely moving at a crazy speed on your cellâs screen.
âHm?â you stop and gaze his way.
âWhat are you playing?â the man repeats.
âMmmmm⌠Tetrixx Bricks.â
âWhat level are you on?â Nolan leans over, his eyes getting big at the revelation. âHoly shit, Y/N! How did you make it this far??! Iâve been striving to pass level 98 for a month!â
âSheâs smart, thatâs how!â your boyfriend sassily underlines.
âDo you think that you can help me?â the guy slides his phone in front of you.
âIâm sorry, is this a gaming party or a business matter?!â The Joker scoffs.
âWell, weâre pretty much done: we accepted the terms, we just have to move the merchandise in the morning.â
You are already matching the colorful blocks on Nolanâs game, his face ecstatic when the obnoxious song announces with great fanfare: âLevel Up!â
âHoly cow!!!!â he shouts and you return his phone. âThank you!â
âHey Y/N,â one of the mobsterâs henchmen dares to voice his demand. âWould you help me too? Iâm stuck on level 76.â
âIâm dead on 105,â another goon mumbles under his breath, stepping in the line forming to your left.
J would normally cut off this useless waste of his precious time yet he canât deny the gratification building up in his heart: heavens knows how it feels to be trapped inside your own mind and his girl has definitely battled unimaginable odds to be where sheâs at right now.
Living with cognitive impairment is not easy, but sheâs still here and it beats the alternative.
âGood job, Pumpkin!â The Clown boasts at the long string of cell phones parading through your fingers while you aid Nolanâs team leveling up on Tetrixx Bricks.
And somehow his hands are holding you tighter, not even bored with the random outcome of his meeting.
**************
You escaped on the terrace for a break and J is discussing the last details with your host: tomorrow you have a routine checkup, thus he has to wrap it up soon.
âOut of my way, half-wit!â Derek aka Nolanâs oldest son pushes you. Would he have done it if you were the same individual from almost a year ago? Nope. Apparently he believes heâs entitled to take advantage of Y/N since sheâs alone outside.
âWhy did Mister Joker bring you anyway?â he lights up a cigarette, annoyed. âStupid monosyllabic bitch!â he ogles your summer dress, swiftly lifting it. âAre you wearing diapers?â he chuckles as you walk backwards, trying to process what heâs throwing at you. âCome on, show me!â he approaches and carefully scouts the premises to ensure you two donât have company.
Perhaps the neurons in your brain are overcharged for the moment; nevertheless, they warn of imminent altercation: the dudeâs a total douchebag.
âAre you shy?â Derek grins. âCâmon, lemme see!! OooohhâŚfuuuuckâŚâ he bends over in pain when your knee unexpectedly kicks him in the crotch: you used all your strength and he drops down, curling up in a ball. âGodâŚdammit!â Derek shrieks at the defense he didnât anticipate.
âIâŚIâm not wearing diapers!â you stammer and because he landed on the edge of the pool you roll him in the water also.
The loud splash makes The Joker wave at you, glad he eventually found you: heâs been searching around the warehouse for the last 5 minutes.
âThere you are! Quit playing around, Pumpkin; we have a swimming pool at home!â
You rush by his side eager to bail before the asshole pops up from the bottom of the pond.
âSushi for dinner?â J suggests and Y/N is not the type of individual to reject one of her favorite dishes.
âIâŚI love sushi,â you smile elbowing him. âLove.â
âDonât start with me again!â The King barks at your obvious hint.
*************
âAre you eating the last piece?â he glares at your salmon roll.
âNo,â you offer the treat to him. âYouâŚyou need it more,â Y/N verbalizes her concern regarding his well-being.
âCanât disagree, Pumpkin. You exhausted me you naughty girl,â J pretends to be super tired. âWhat can I do? Princess wants, Princess gets,â he inhales, resigned.
Youâre not focusing on his whining: frankly, your intellect has been challenged enough for today. You cuddle in his arms while he chews on his food and watch TV without paying attention to the movie.
âDonât forget tomorrow morning you have your doctorâs appointment,â J mentions. âI have to stay and wait for the guns I purchased from Nolan; youâll have to manage without me. Iâll send an escort, deal?â
âU-hum.â
âDonât yawn, Pumpkin. Iâm the one that should yawn,â The Joker scratches his thigh. âThis move sucks,â he pouts and turns off the TV. âI have a better idea,â he chooses a kidâs book from the stack. âRead to me.â
You open the textbook and although your brain is overwhelmed, you still make an effort for his sake.
âMmm⌠Rainy⌠sky⌠Skies?...â
âYup,â he turns on his side and nuzzles in your hair.
âFloat overâŚhmm⌠t-townâŚâ, your voice echoes in the room, soothing a worn out Joker.
Strange he canât properly rest unless you read to him: after all J barely, from very afar, remotely, not even similar to love, sort of likes you.

Yaâaburnee - Chapter 1 (Seventeen Soulmate AU)
Soulmate AU:Â The last words your soulmate says to you are the words tattooed on your wrist.
Pairing: SoonWoo, JiHan, SeokHao
Title: Ya'aburnee (arabic): yak-BER-nee (n.) lit. "you bury me"; the hope that your lover or beloved will outlive you as to spare yourself the pain of living beyond that person.
Summary: In a world where oneâs wrists spell the Last Words their Soulmates will ever speak to them, Hansol and Seungkwan are stuck in a loophole of almost forever but never there. Where Seungkwan wants to take the next step and Hansol fears everything. And Jisoo and Jeonghan are so madly in love that nothing seems to get in their way despit uncertainity looming large around them. And Soonyoung is stuck in an unhappy marriage after the death of his soulmateâhis wrist mocking him of the love he has lost forever and one he is sure to loose again. Wonwoo on the other hand is slowly falling in love despite the fear of Soonyoung speaking the words heâs most afraid of.
Author's Note: I refer to Minghao as Myungho and Dokyeom as Seokmin in this fic so... yeah...
Wonwoo has never been a romantic, what with fate ruining his life with the constant reminder of his yet to be found soulmate. Whoever was writing his romantic destiny up there was surely a royal dick because who in their fucking mind would think that marking his wrists up eternally with a very popular, and honestly addictive pop songâs lyrics, was a good idea? Yeah, Wonwoo wasnât really a big fan of this âGodâ person.
He sighs, turning down the radio volume as that bloody song blares through the speakers as heâs tying his tie, getting ready for office. Itâs a cover sung by a bunch of teenagers and had it been any other song, Wonwoo wouldâve called up the radio station and complimented the kids for their splendid rendition of the decade-old song. But as it happens to be the cursed song that laces his wrists, heâs really not that keen on complimenting, let alone acknowledging anyone.Â
After all, every time he hears the song, every time his wrists shine, his stomach feels like it has spontaneously turned into a black hole thatâs rapidly sucking him in.
âYou do realise that I actually happen to like that song,â his husband mutters as he steps into the living room of their apartment. Cuffing his sleeves as, he too, prepares for his fifteen-minute drive to the office.
Wonwoo sighs, making room on the couch for his husband, as he continues putting on his shoes. âAnd you realise that I donât want to constantly be reminded that my soulmate could be literally anyone who enjoys singing this song, and it might be the last time I ever hear them, right?â
Soonyoung, his husband, snorts and shakes his head as he mumbles, ânice to know you donât have it narrowed down to your own husband.â
Sighing once again the Wonwoo bites his lips, picking up his briefcase from the coffee table. âI really donât want to have this conversation with you, Soonyoung,â he mumbles, walking into the kitchen to pull out the grilled cheese sandwiches from the griller. He plates them with an orange juice on the counter, calling out to Soonyoung to âeat before you leave,â as he steps out of the apartment.
No âI love youâsâ are shared and no goodbye kisses happen. Soonyoung watches his husband close the door behind him without a second glance and he feels nothing.
                            ***
âMyungho, I just donât think you understand how important marriage is to me,â Seokmin mumbles to his live-in boyfriend of three years, as they lie in each otherâs embrace. He can see the frown starting to line his boyfriendâs eyes and he holds his hands tighter as if asking him to let him continue. âI know youâre scared something bad will happen when we say our vows, but it might not even happen, Babe.â
Myungho rolls his eyes, pulling away from the cuddled-up position he and Seokmin are in and stares into his boyfriendâs eyes as he points at the tiny, I do on his wrist. âDo you see this âI doâ on my wrist, Seokmin? Do you understand what this means for me and anyone I might be dumb enough to get married to?â Seokmin stares at the mocking words and gulps as he tries to search for a retort but comes back empty-handed. âMy sisterâs husband died the day he said âI love youâ to her before sending her off to work. A car crash, Seokmin. The last thing she heard her husband say was âI love youâ and she always knew itâd kill him.â
âThat doesnât meanââ Seokmin begins but is cut off when Myungho pushes him away and starts pulling up his pants, already irritated with the same old conversation.
âShe lived every day regretting his words ever since,â Myungho growls, putting on his T-shirt as he starts walking away. âShe always told me how guilty she felt for ever allowing her husband to say those words, even after knowing what would happen. Every time he said those words, every time they shone on her wrist, her heart would stop until the words stopped glowing! She says she didnât think it would happen so soon. But now look at her.â He shakes his head, walking out the door as he mutters under his breath, âstuck in that asylum for life.â
Seokmin watches his lover walk away and he knows he canât do anything but hurt at the manâs actions. But, no matter how much he hurts, Seokmin knows that he canât blame Myungho for wanting to protect his love for all eternity. He looks at his own wrist and rubs at the place where once the same words that lace Myungho's wrist had been, remembering getting them covered up at the age of nineteen after watching his fatherâs breakdown at his motherâs death.
They were never soulmates and something inside his father had broken when he found his wifeâs last words to him were not âremember to water the plants today, Taeshikâ.
                            ***
It takes a special kind of skill to burn a tablecloth with nothing but one single matchstick, Jisoo realises, as heâs rubbing ice over his boyfriendâs finger. Shaking his head at the man, he asks him to keep the ice on his finger for a while and asks him to go back into their bedroom. The man had come out to make a sandwichâat four in the morningâand had burnt his fingers. Though, how that happened is a story Jisoo doesnât wish to know.
He pulls out the ingredients for a simple chicken salad sandwich when his phone blares announcing a phone call. Rolling his eyes, he receives it, because only one person would call him up at four in the morning. His brother, Soonyoung.
âJust because itâs 7 pm back in Korea,â Jisoo begins, not even allowing Soonyoung on the other line to get a word in, âdoesnât mean you can call me at fucking 4 am, Kwon Soonyoung.â
The younger man snickers on the other end as he seems to shuffle in bed, Jisoo just knows he has probably a tonne of laundry lying on it. âI didnât think youâd actually answer the call, Joshi.â
Jisoo snorts and pours some homemade mayonnaise in a bowl and pulls out the boiled chicken from the fridge as he explains, âJeonghan, woke up in the middle of the night to make a sandwich and ended up burning the table cloth and his own hand in the process.
âItâs so creepy that you say this in such a âmatter-of-factâ manner,â Soonyoung mutters.
âHey,â Jisoo shrugs, adding some seasoning into the mayo-chicken mix, âheâs super lazy and super clumsy and the sooner I accept this the better itâll be for the both of us.â
Soonyoung giggles at his words and Jisoo takes pride in his feat. Sobering down a little when the man stops laughing and silence settles between them. âYou okay, Hosh?â He mumbles into the receiver, walking back into his bedroom with the sandwiches in hand.
âJust feeling a little lonely,â Soonyoung mumbles. And Jisoo knows how vulnerable he must be feeling, seeing as heâs admitting to it.
âWhereâs Wonwoo?â The man asks, settling down beside his boyfriend, pointing at the phone to make it clear that he shouldnât speak. âIsnât he home yet? Itâs seven already, right?â
He hears Soonyoung sigh and plump his head on the pillow; he can almost feel Soonyoungâs loneliness digging holes into his own heart. âHis office hasnât let out yet,â Soonyoung tells himâvoice tight. âHeâll leave in about an hour.â
Jisoo aches to comfort his brother somehow. To tell him that itâs just an hour. That Wonwoo will be home soon and that he should just wait it out a little. But he knows that Soonyoungâs loneliness has nothing to do with Wonwooâs office timings. And that it has everything to do with the charred words on his wrist. The words that stopped shinning almost a year ago.
He finds himself unable to respond and it is Soonyoung who has to calm his thoughts as he mumbles âI⌠I think⌠I think Wonwooâs home now, Jisoo. Iâll talk to you later.â
His brother cuts the call after that but Jisoo knows itâs not because his husband just came back home. He knows Wonwoo hasnât come back yet because he never heard the doorbell ring on Soonyoungâs side. And against his better judgment, knowing well that nothing is going to change between the pair, Jisoo wishes happiness to both men.
Heâs aware of the pain theyâve been through and nothing hurts more than his inability to help them.

After a certain set of events, you end up rescuing him, and what happens after that is untold.Â
Warnings - none, not sure
A/N - hola! second story from a break hope everyone is healthy and happy and chilling. Make sure to eat well, workout, and relax :) its literally summer! But anyways enjoy this story and send me some more requests as i am getting through them. (this one was a request and i loved it sm)
Years ago in University
You enter the Criminal Justice classroom and sit near the bottom of the high set of seats. You adjust yourself into a comfortable position and pull your books out. You hadnât even opened one of them yet. You didnât need to. After a handful of students walked in, the professor does too.Â
âGood morning. How is everybody today?â The professor asked. He swiftly pulled out his papers and began scribbling on the board. The students mumbled a polite answer. You turned your head to the side and met the devilish grazing eyes of Mycroft Holmes. He eyed you suspiciously and you returned it, but quickly darted his eyes back to the front after a second of contact. You smiled and shook your head. He thought he was better than you, but he wasnât, and he knew it. Even if he didnât, you would constantly make him know.Â
âOkay, a little different approach here today, class. You all recall that last case study we were working on, I assume? We touched up on it a few days ago. Refresh yourselves quickly on the complexity of the case. It continues today. I will be discussing and asking all of you questions. Remember, youâre the top of the top here.âÂ
You narrowly turned your head to glance at Mycroft. His attention was focused on the professor. He didnât blink.Â
âWhat was the intent of the murder?â The professor asked.Â
âMaternal revenge,â you spat out, barely after the question was out of his mouth. The professor nodded at you and continued on. The class was a breeze.Â
âWhat was the initial thought of the victim walking in the room?âÂ
âTo arm himself yet not be disguised. He wanted to hide but only wished to in his mind. He chose to ponder about slowly to his demise,â Mycroft rapidly spoke.Â
You rolled your eyes. After a dozen more questions that rotated between you and Mycroft, the class was over. You abruptly stood up and walked out of the classroom near the exit of the building. You heard Mycroft walking behind you. You didnât speak or say anything to him. He walked outside with you and finally matched up to your speed.Â
âYou think youâre better than me.â Mycroft said.Â
You laughed. âI am.âÂ
âYou see thatâs the problem. I am superior and I will always be. Just simply stop trying.âÂ
âYouâre going to have to try harder than that.âÂ
---Years Later-----
Your alarm not so peacefully woke you up from your tranquil slumber. You shifted your body closer to the side of your bed to read those bright red numbers you despised.Â
6:00
You groaned, practically tripping over nonexistent items as you walked to your bathroom. You quickly brushed your teeth and pulled together your hair. Soft strands of hair rested over your shoulder. Feeling more awake, you hopped to your closet and ran your hands along the minimalist cashmere and silk clothes that you owned. You pulled out a a pair of black trousers and a cream colored blouse. You paired it with a black blazer. As you stepped infront of the long mirror in the corner of your room, your eye caught the morning sunâs reflection off the glass of your diplomas and recognitions. A silver heart for bravery was pinned to the wall next to glass encovered cases as well as colored ribbons signifying your criminal investigation awards. You smiled to yourself in the mirror. This was who you were.Â
After applying a light wave of makeup over your features you slipped on a pair of dark heels and your purse. You skipped down the steps as if you were wearing sneakers and stepped near the curb to call for a cab. One came speeding by and you jumped in.Â
âManchester Station.âÂ
After a pleasant speedy drive halfway through the city of Manchester, the cab slowed down to a stop. You tipped the man and stepped out of the car, walking up to the long set of cream steps. You swiftly walked through the door, manuvering your body through the bustling people. You walked up the main steps to get to your office. As you walked down the hallway you glanced in one of the glass-walled offices. You saw one of your partners, James with a phone pressed up to his ear, lightly scribbling notes. He noticed you and offered a warm smile to which you returned. You passed a few other colleagues on your way to the office to whom you waved at. As soon as you opened your door you practically collapsed. As much as you loved being a detective, being in the office for a mere hour was enough to kill you. Being on the streets and in the action was what provided you with the vigor and stamina to which you live your life now. Picking yourself back up, you went over to your coffee machine and started a cup. A few seconds later, you heard a knock at your door accompanied with the sound of the door swinging open. You turned your head to see Paul and Lauren, another close colleague, standing there.Â
âDeduce me!â They both shouted, giggling. This wasnât a new thing. Multiple times a day they would ask you this. It felt good. You were born like this. You could tell them a thousand things they would never think twice about. You picked up your coffee and locked eyes with Paul. Your eyes moved down and up and left and right, absorbing and understanding his movements and attire and his face. The face told a lot.Â
âYou didnât eat today. You were wearing a dark shirt but promptly changed it after a minute. You recently talked to your family; they are warm and welcome which is new and refreshing for you.âÂ
Paul scoffed. âAmazes me everytime.â
âMy turn!â Lauren exclaimed.
You proceeded to look at her, but Lewis, the âhead manâ of your department suddenly walked in the door. His face was tense and his actions followed along. Your body stiffened and you were alert.Â
âWeâre going to London. Now.â He said, promptly rushing away. You swigged your coffee and walked out of the doorway. Paul and Lauren jogged to their offices. You caught Lewis running down the hallway. Something was wrong. Something was going on. You ran after him.Â
âLewis, when are we leaving? Why are we going to London?â You asked.Â
He stopped momentarily and caught his breath. âImportant case. The govenment. Weâre leaving now. Weâll take my car. Paul will drive with Lauren. We need to go now. Itâs at least a 4 hour drive.â He grabbed your arm lightly and you ran off with him.Â
âWhy do they ask for us?â
Lewis chuckled. âFor you mainly. Like I said, hard case, but not a challenging one. One that requires only the intelligent.âÂ
You couldnât believe it. You ran down the steps and hopped into the shotgun seat of Lewisâs car. He ran inside and ignited the key, promptly speeding away. Thoughts rushed through your head quickly. Youâve only been in England for a few years yet you have never been to London. Why, you ask? You didnât have the slightest clue.Â
Lewis sped at least ten miles above the speed limit on the highway, causing your heart to race out of excitement. You could just taste it.Â
âDid you get any case background?â You asked.Â
Lewis shook his head. âItâs highly contained. From my time here, Iâm only guessing its something technological.âÂ
âLinked with something physical.â You said.Â
He nodded. âYouâll do it. Youâre the best we have. The best anyone would have.âÂ
You smiled at him. You werenât nervous, you were ready. It was about time.Â
3 hours later from excessive speedingÂ
Lewisâs car stopped in front of an immensely tall building covered with blue glass windows. You had no idea what this was. Secret Service? Most likely.Â
You walked with Lewis to the front door and met a plethora of guards. You both showed your badges and after a few phone calls made from the guards and nodds of respect, you walked inside. The inside was captivating. Everything was modernized and the surfaces reflective. Tall, powerful figures moved about. Lewis and you walked up the main steps.
âTheyâre meeting us on the second floor. I wouldnât be so sure where.â He said, turning left and right.Â
You knew where from looking at the room. âIn here. Should we wait?âÂ
âNo need to.â A stern voice said from behind you and Lewis. You turned your head and gazed up to a young tall man. His eyes were tired but his spirit was strong. He was a lower tier colleague of almost no status.
âItâs over here,â he said, leading you to the next hallway over. The flooring plan suddenly changed and led up to an even larger glass room full of guards on each corner of the premicise. The man walked up to the door and opened it for you and Lewis. You walked inside, eyeing every single thing you could. You saw four men and an older woman standing near the window, holding papers and chattering visciously.Â
The man who just led you in coughed and everyone turned around. A short man burst out from the group and said, âWeâve been expecting you. We apologize for the short notice. Iâm sure you understand the gravity of the situation.âÂ
âWe understand. We know you couldnât provide the information over phone. Everything is as planned.â Lewis said.Â
The man looked worried and nodded to him. He turned his attention to you. When he did so, his face untensed and his eyes relaxed. He held out his hand to you.Â
âYou, Miss, weâve heard nothing but good.â
You shook his hand and he quickly cut loose from the courtesy.Â
âWe must get to the case. Please, sit down.â He motioned. The four other people sat around the table and you sat next to Lewis on one side. The head of the table was missing. The chair, idle. You wondered who sat there.Â
âThereâs professional hacking done. Televisions abruptly stopping and transferring to messages. Murders....with......banks......robbing......aquiesced with no hesitation.........killers............terrorists...â
You zoned in and out of the words being spoken. You had the whole concept down in about two minutes. The rest wasnât vital information for you.Â
The short man faced you. âWe need you to crack codes and primarily investigate a mansion in the countryside. He worked for the govenrment, he was up here. Killed. Iâm sure it will take you time to understand why and how he was murdered, but you have time.âÂ
You tried not to scoff. You could get it done without even being there. They underestimate you.Â
â(Y/N), is good at this. Sheâs a star in computer programming. Give her any computer, sheâll have all the codes and passwords lied out for you in minutes.â Lewis said.Â
âI understand that. However actions are key here. There was a reason we called you. Lewis, youâll stick with our management and analysis now. I see you have two other detectives, they can branch out to the banks and such with our other teams.âÂ
Suddenly the large glass doors swung open. You didnât turn around to look, but you knew it was the head of the table, whoever that was.âÂ
âSir, I ran through the prerequisites and plan with them. We start today with this team.â The man said. You looked down at your legs and across to the window, endlessly bored.Â
âYes, you told me who you would bring. A girl? You insisted she was....good? I didnât get a chance to read over the folder.âÂ
That voice sounded familiar
âWhy, yes, Mr. Holmes, sheâs right here. (Y/N).âÂ
Your heart dropped. You knew that name. You whipped your head to the head of the table and met the surprised eyes of Mycroft Holmes. You locked eyes, trying to understand.Â
âMr. Holmes, (Y/N), is everything....?â The man asked.Â
âEverything is well, Thomas. I personally knew (Y/N) a handful of years ago. University.â He said.Â
You smiled and nodded your head.Â
âRight, now, we must all leave now. I have teams on numerous locations already.â He said, abruptly standing up. Everyone else rushed up and followed him out of the door. You couldnât believe he was here. The head of this. The mastermind. You almost forgot about him, but you never forget intelligence.Â
You rushed out of the room to find him walking down the hall with two others. One was frantically talking into the phone. You walked up to Mycroftâs side.Â
âWhere am I going?â You asked.Â
âWith us. Helicopter pad is a floor up.âÂ
You smirked, reading him and his actions. âYou remember me?â You asked, looking up at him. He looked down at you and for a moment you knew he wanted to âintelligently insultâ you, as both of you did in university before, but he smiled at you.Â
âOnly the smartest I recall. Youâre with us now. This will be a challenge for you.â He said. You skipped up the steps to the roof with him.Â
âIâll be okay.â You said.Â
Mycroft stepped aside for you to enter the helicopter. He sat next to you and fixed his head gear. You placed your headsets on and Mycroft gave a signal for the pilots to go. Youâve only been inside a helicopter a few times and each time you enjoyed the rush and looking down upon the city and countryside from afar. Â
Mycroft tapped your arm and motioned to look at his window. You moved over to his side and looked down on the ground.Â
âThis is the countryside. The man who weâre investigating lives...right there,â he said, pointing to a charming large cream colored mansion. Well manicured bushes and trees surrounded it. You quickly took in all the visible exits and windows and doors.Â
âHow did someone get inside with all of that security?â You asked, raising your voice to shield against the loudness of the helicopter.Â
He looked at you, but didnât speak. âThatâs what we must figure out. The answers are there, but not in plainsight.âÂ
The helicopter began lowering and then softly landed on the grass, causing ripples through the field. You took your headsets off and hopped out after Mycroft. He waited for you by his side and began walking to the back door.Â
He turned his body towards you and stopped, pulling something out of his pocket. A gun.Â
âYou might need this. Preparation. You know the deal.â He handed it to you. You stuffed it in your waistline hook. Mycroft opened the door and walked inside with you. Naturally, you scanned the proximities and let your mind do the thinking. After walking a few feet you gained a handful of valuable information from this. He continued into a grand lobby area and there on the ground near the main steps lay a body. You quickly walked up to it and intricately studied it. Nothing hit your mind initially, but you felt something coming.Â
âShot in the chest. Took him out after a few minutes of heavy bleeding.â Mycroft said.Â
âHe was dying before that.âÂ
âWhat?âÂ
âPoison. Intentional.â
âWho did this?âÂ
You thought hard and looked everywhere and anywhere. You knew this.Â
âHe didnât know them. A man. Young. He wore a biohazard suit and dealt with chemicals. He became terrified so he shot him.âÂ
Mycroft folded his arms, still standing. âWhat was he going to do?âÂ
âI canât be certain, but probably something with acid.âÂ
He raised his eyebrows and sighed. âI think youâre right. Weâll go through the house and examine more. When weâre done Iâll jot down all the evidence that you have about it.â He began walking up the steps. You ran up to him.Â
âWhat have you been up to?â You asked him.Â
He looked startled to hear the question, but accepted it. âJust being here and doing my job.â He was awkward like that.Â
âYou like commanding people. I know that.âÂ
He blushed and hung his head. âI know you do too.âÂ
You laughed. âTo an extent. This is my first time in London. I never knew about you. You seem important.âÂ
He smiled. âI am.â Mycroft walked in a large bedroom, examining it. You walked to the other side of the house, going in and out of rooms, trying to make more sense of everything. You heard Mycroft mumbling on the phone. He changed a lot and certainly became more mature. Initially, you doubted it was even him. You bent down and looked under beds, carpets, inside drawers and desks and closets. Nothing was alarming too you.Â
SlamÂ
You stopped in your tracks and kept silent. You heard a door hardly slam from the other side of the house where Mycroft was. Something was wrong. You quietly stepped into the hallway and walked slowly across to the door. As you grew nearer, you heard shuffling and a low voice.Â
Your heart dropped. Someone was nearby. You didnât speak, but you placed your hands on the door knob, slowly turning it open. You swiftly moved your body through the narrow opening and bent down next to the wall to listen. You had your hand on your gun, prepared.
Then you heard someone elseâs gun click.Â
You knew someone had Mycroft. Slowly, you crept your head near the corner to see. You pulled your gun out and slowly peeked your head out. There he was, a stranger, standing above Mycroft with a gun pointed at him and blood running from his head. He suddenly looked at you and shot in your direction. You ducked down and came out of hiding, effortlessly shooting at the man. You aimed for his head and squinted your eyes involuntarily. You rolled around on the floor, barely missing his shots. After your first miss, you shot a bullet directly in his head. He fell down.Â
You ran to Mycroft and took his hands.Â
âAre you alright?â You asked, squeezing his hands.Â
He nodded. âYou saved my life.âÂ
You smiled. âIt wasnât a big deal.âÂ
He shook his head. âThank you.â You locked eyes with him and shared a moment of pleasantness. It gave you time to think and look at how much he changed. Never would you ever think in many years to come that you would save your past rivalry. You shifted your focus over to the body lying on the floor, blood pooling around his head. Mycroft noticed your dismay and touched your shoulder, offering you comfort.Â
âWe should leave.â He said. âI think this case is closed.âÂ
He stood up and walked out with you. âI hear youâre good with computers.âÂ
You stepped inside a bathroom and grabbed a small town on a hanger and threw it to Mycroft for his head. âMore or less. I can teach you some things.â You walked down the steps with him and across the long lobby. He put his arm around your shoulders and you grabbed his hand, enjoying the moment.Â
âWe should catch up.â He said.Â
âDinner tonight?âÂ
âCouldnât be any better.âÂ

Jefferson & Leroy Street
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Inclusive!Reader
Summary:Â Bucky Barnes is an idiot, Y/N Stark is an idiot; Steve Rogers just wants them to kiss and make-up. So he plays matchmaker. How hard can it be to get two idiots in love? Apparently not as easy as he thinks.
Word Count: 2.4k
Warnings: strong language, mentions of a horrible ex, angst with a happy ending
A/N: if anyone sees this fic on AO3 donât worry about it, it is my own work I just thought I'd change it to a reader insert.
Itâd been a long day; University had been busier than normal in the lead up to exams. They just kept telling their self - one more year - when in reality they still had to find a graduate job. What can one actually do with a degree in Criminology?
Unlocking the door to the flat they shared with their two best friends, they groaned at the mess. For two super soldiers, they sure knew how to create a mess. Steve Rogers, the famous Captain America, was currently away on a mission but Bucky was still here having not been needed for this particular mission.
âYou had one job dickwad! One job!â They shouted as they looked at the state of the piled-up dishes. They had a bloody rota for a reason, god they missed the days of dishwashers and living at home with their parents.
There was silence, frowning they searched every room before finally calling to F.R.I.D.A.Y and asking where the hell was Bucky?
âIâm afraid he stepped out over an hour ago Mx Stark, I can find his location if you wish?â The Irish lilt echoed throughout the empty flat. They groaned; they didnât want to bother him in case heâd been called on a mission.
âNah sâalright, but thanks anyway F.R.I.D.A.Y.â A weak smile crossed their face, they might as well clean the flat whilst they waited for Bucky to arrive home.
Bucky never arrived home that night. They waited up as long as they could after giving the flat a thorough clean but when they woke in the morning it was clear he hadnât come home. Their keys were still in the door. Groaning as they rubbed the back of their neck having fallen asleep on the couch, they checked their phone.
No messages.
That instantly put them in a pissy mood, they were a worrier; always had been, always will be.
They knew it was going to happen, getting distracted beyond belief at Uni. Trudging back to the flat they could smell the aromatic aroma of Italian cooking. Clumsily opening the door, their face fell a little when they noticed Steveâs shield by the door.
âAre you.. are you seriously standing here cooking in your bloody uniform?â They snorted; well at least that was a sight to brighten their day.
âI was hungry!â He whined.
âThought you were Bucky.â They muttered, grabbing the blondeâs shield and moving it to the cupboard. It was more so they wouldnât trip over it as they had done a hundred times before.
âWell itâs his Maâs recipe so I can see the confusion.â He smiled giving them a kiss on the cheek as they moved within reaching distance. âHow was class?â
âOh, you know.. the usual.â Plonking themselves down at the breakfast bar in the kitchen. âSay.. you wouldnât happen to have heard from Bucky have you?â
âYeah, heâs at some dameâs place.. he never told you?â He frowned; they hated that frown.
âOh yeah, shit I forgot. Of course!â They spoke quickly, they were already pissed at Bucky; it wouldnât do for him to be ganged up by both them and Steve. âHow was the mission?â Quickly and effortlessly changing the subject. Giving Steve the chance to rant about everything and anything he could reveal about the mission. While he spoke, they sent a text to Bucky.
Sent at 4:56PM
You could have told me you were going to get laid. Next time do the dishes before you go and get your dick wet. That is all.
After eating the wonderful food that Steve had prepared, how they could still fit through the door with both of them being amazing cooks theyâll never know; they headed through to their room to do some studying.
They woke up at 3am to her bedroom door being thrown open.
âJesus Christ!â They squealed, practically falling out of bed as they watched Bucky saunter in.
âWhat the fuck is this?â Holding out his phone, they squinted at his phone screen being the only light source in the room. Flicking on a light they glared at him.
âItâs three in the fucking morning James, what the ever-loving fuck are you doing sauntering in here like you own the place!â They shouted; they didnât care if they woke Steve up at this point.
âI do actually own the place..â They groaned
âItâs an expression you idiot! Can we talk about this in the morning? I donât know why youâre pissed at me! Youâre the one that didnât tell me you were heading out and also left the flat in a god-awful state!â
âOh, get over yourself! Why are you always so fucking clingy Y/N? Itâs ridiculous!â That broke their heart, they knew they were clingy; they always had been, but Bucky had always liked it. âor so they thought.
âI was just worried about you.. I didnât know where you were.â They muttered, feeling terribly small with the towering figure above them.
âYou donât need to know where I am every second of everyday Christ. Stop being jealous just because you havenât been laid in months. How is Nathan anyway? Still fucking your ex best friend?â Well that was a low blow, it was clear no one anticipated the slap when it came.
âFuck. You.â They growled, grabbing their jeans; pulling them on angrily as they moved to grab their coat.
âY/N, darlinâ itâs late. Come on weâll got through to my-â Steve was interrupted by the front door slamming. âThe fuck Buck?â He said turning to his best friend.
âDonât Steve.. just donât.â The former asset muttered as he moved through to his room, slamming the bedroom door shut.
âFucking hell..â Steve muttered, rubbing his hands over his face. âF.R.I.D.A.Y, please track them and let me know the minute something isnât right okay?â
When they arrived back at the flat four hours later, Steve was already opening the door to her before they could even get their hand on the handle.
âBloody intelligent busy body in the ceiling.â They muttered to herself as they trudged in. Toeing off their shoes, they headed to their bedroom but were stopped by the ever-righteous grandpa.
âWe need to talk about last night.â Steveâs voice was soft, but it held a commanding edge to it, they couldnât be fucked with that in that moment.
âNo, we donât, Barnes made everything crystal clear. Now if youâll excuse me, I have class in an hour and a half.â They grunted, hands on his chest to push him out of the way.
âY/N.. he was- â
âIf drunk is about to come out of your mouth Iâm whacking you with your own shield. He canât get drunk; well all know that so why donât you stop coming up with excuses for his behaviour and just âget over yourselfâ like Iâm doing huh?â Expression blank, but the tears that were starting to well in their eyes were clear for anyone close enough to see.
âYou went to Nathanâs.. Y/N, thatâs not.. we talked about this. You were doing so well.â He whispered, holding onto their upper arms to keep them in place.
âI waited Steve, I did what you said, and I waited for him to come around. Every-time I tried to make the first move it didnât work. Bucky doesnât want me; Iâve accepted that now.. maybe itâs time you do too. Matchmaker isnât really your biggest strength.â A weak smile on their face as they finally pushed their way out of his grasp.
Heading down the corridor she saw Buckyâs door slowly close, heâd obviously been listening in. Typical. Rolling their eyes, they headed into the bathroom, slamming the door behind them.
It had been a week since the incident. Both Bucky and Y/N hadnât left the flat which was more concerning on Y/Nâs behalf due to the fact theyâd missed a whole week of University. The final straw was when Tony cornered Steve after a briefing asking why heâd gotten an email from the University saying his child hadnât been attending classes.
He hated being cornered by a protective Tony, especially since they were tentatively trying to build a relationship together. Totally hush hush at the moment; only the two of them aware. Stomping into Y/Nâs room he frowned when he saw them staring into space.
âEnough. Get dressed and get the fuck out of here for a couple of hours. Please Iâm literally begging you. Youâre both driving me up the wall.â It took a couple of seconds for Y/N to grasp that Steve was in the room speaking to them.
âAnd where exactly do you want me to go?â They mumbled into their duvet.
âAnywhere that isnât Nathanâs or somewhere dangerous.â Going into their wardrobe he started throwing clothes at them. âIf youâre not ready in ten I will barge right back in here you hear?â
âJesus Steve.. Iâm going, Christ.â She muttered, shooing him out the door so they could get ready. Maybe a night out would be nice, they could go for a couple of drinks.
When they finished getting ready, they side-stepped Steve before they collided with him. Sending a mock salute his way they grabbed their shoes and headed out the door. There were a few bars within walking distance, so they ended up at the first one on their path. Slipping inside they sat themselves down at the bar, ordering a whiskey neat.
âWell, well, well look what the cat dragged inâ Mouthing a âfuckâ into their drink they turned to see Nathan.
âWhat do you want?â They grumbled, arms crossing over their chest. He scoffed.
âI canât believe I donât even get a hello when I so kindly let you sleep on my couch last week. Didnât even get a thank you.â Rolling their eyes at him.
âIâm pretty sure letting me crash on your couch is the least you could do after ruining three years of a relationship by shagging Caitlin.â
âI was expecting at least some thank you head, but you never were one to give, were you? Always take, take, take.â He purred; they could smell the booze off him as he made himself at home in their personal space.
âFuck off Nathan, Iâm not in the mood tonight.â
âWhen were you ever in the mood, Iâm sure I can get you there though. Always knew your-â He didnât get to finish his sentence as a metal arm had him lifted halfway off the ground. They couldnât help but snort at the fear in Nathanâs eyes.
âWant to finish that sentence?â Bucky growled. They couldnât help but bite their lip, theyâd always had a thing for pissed Bucky; as long as it wasnât aimed at them but then again. A hand on their arm snapped them out of their daydream. âWeâre going for a walk.â His hand slipping into theirs as he dragged them out the bar.
âOh, we are, are we?â They muttered; the silence grew between them as they walked down the block. âThanks.. for that back there. I- I didnât sleep with him by the way. Just crashed on his couch.â They admitted. âIâm an idiot, but Iâm not stupid.â
âNo one said you were.â They pulled on his hand as they got to a bench, pulling him down to sit next to them.
âI am. Iâm sorry about the text.. I was just so worried. You know what Iâm like, the worldâs worst over-thinker.â Bucky groaned, running a hand over the back of his neck.
âIâve been a prick.â He grunted, looking at them with sad eyes. âDo you remember the night you caught Nathan?â
Frowning they tried to remember what happened. âYou took me to that club? You said something like âitâs more or a distraction for me so I donât rip the bastards throat out?â Or something along those lines?â He chuckled softly; their heart stopped for a moment â god theyâd missed that sound.
âYeah thatâs right, you then proceeded to get fucking drunk off your ass and you said you canât remember anything else from that night?â They shook their head.
âNah, Iâm pretty sure that was it.â
âWell.. Iâm gonna remind you of something right now just.. bear with me.â He mumbled, cupping their chin in his hand; he kissed them. Right there, on the corner of Jefferson and Leroy street. Their hands moved to clutch at his shirt, hazy memories filtering in. Loud music, colour, Bucky, heat, cool metal wrapped around them, Bucky, hands in silk strands, the taste of whiskey and something ultimately Bucky.
âFuck I kissed you, in the middle of the dance floor..â They whispered as they pulled back, fingers moving to press lightly against their lips. They couldnât believe she forgot.
âThereâs an endless number of things that I wish I could forget darlinâ, but I couldnât forget that. Played in my mind for days. I realised quite quickly you didnât remember it and you were still getting over him. Then you started to flirt with me and I just; I couldnât take it.â Their heart was breaking.
âBuck.. Iâm so sorry!â They croaked, taking both his hands in theirs; thumb stroking over the back of the smooth metal. âIf Iâd remembered I wouldâve- â
âThought I was gonna be your rebound or somethinâ and I couldnât deal. Pretty sure you engrained yourself in my very soul from the day I met your cocky little ass.â His eyes were glued to the ground, but they werenât having it. Grabbing his face in their hands.
âYou never wouldâve been a re-bound for my James. You understand me? Iâve loved you from the minute I met you. Iâve never loved anyone the way I love you, Iâm hopelessly, utterly-â They hated being interrupted but they were pretty sure they could make an exception for Buckyâs lips on theirs. It was softer than they remembered, like they were something precious. Thatâs when the tears started to fall âno one had ever treated them like that before, like they were something to cherish.
âMânot good with feelings and emotions, life ainât been too kind to me but I know that I love you and I want you. Every part of you. So mâgonna say it now. Youâre mine, youâll always be mine. Even if we canât be together; youâll always be engrained in-â It was their turn to cut him off, kissing him hard; throwing their very soul into the kiss.
âIâm yours Buck, forever and always Iâm yours.â They whispered. Chuckling softly, he brushed the tears from their face.
âThatâs what I was hoping you were gonna say.â There on the corner of Jefferson and Leroy, two idiots finally got their happy ending. If Steve looked extra smug the next day; Tony would think it was because of him but in reality, it was because of the two thank you texts heâd received from the two idiots. His two favourite idiots.

Got an asshole fired and helped a co-worker get a job they wanted.
About 20 years ago, I got a job at a warehouse/ delivery place, pulling and delivering windshields. When I started, there were 6 drivers - 1 old white guy who'd been there since humanity existed, 4 young black guys, and me (white female). I mention this only because, unfortunately, it does become important later. There were also 4-5 people in the office running sales/ admin, including the only other female at the company. She'd wanted a delivery job, but had been told "that's not a woman's job" so was stuck in the office. The guy who hired me made a big deal about how he'd stuck his neck out for me, and was getting crap from his buddies for hiring a woman. There was some undertone about equal opportunity, but I've never counted on that and made sure I went above and beyond.
At the time, it was a locally-owned place, and rules were not really standardized about most things. In theory, each driver was supposed to take orders for the next route scheduled, load up the next available truck, and head out. In reality, there was an unofficial pecking order, and each driver had "their" route/s and truck. As the new guy, I got the less-than-great pickup truck with an open-air rack and various problems; most of the other trucks were box trucks (think small moving trucks) so the windshields wouldn't get wet as they were delivered, and the driver could rearrange things inside the truck if the route got switched around for whatever reason. I also got the furthest-away route with the latest delivery times, so I usually got stuck in rush hour on the way back. I know the rules, though, so I shut my mouth, sucked it up, and waited for turnover to make me not-the-new guy and get a better truck/ route.
Surprisingly, turnover didn't happen. There were the usual problems with 2 of the workers not pulling their weight, but... no one ever got fired. The worst offender was, of course, the guy at the top of the unofficial pecking order, we'll call him Mike. Dude was huge - easily a foot taller than me (I'm not short), I'm pretty sure all he did was work and workout, and he constantly bragged about doing steroids to get bigger. He would only take the shortest run with the fewest deliveries and spend the rest of the time talking sh!t with the other drivers or just randomly vanishing. A couple months after I started, I got some big orders for my routes all in a row, and asked for help so I could gather everything, load up, and head out on time. This was not uncommon - there were several machines used for pulling the stock, so if you finished your orders early, you helped others who were behind. Not Mike, though - you'd think I'd asked him to skin a puppy. Got in my face, yelling about how dare I ask him to do anything, I'm just the new guy, get out of here and don't let him see me again, etc., you get the picture. One of the other guys I'd become friends with pulled me away and helped me get loaded up and out the door, but that never really sat right with me. Mike had never been friendly to me, but after that day, he'd go out of his way to be an ass - nothing big, but enough to seriously irritate me and intimidate the other guys to not talk to me when he was around.
A little while later, I mentioned the outburst to the lady in the office, and she told me why nothing would ever be done about Mike or anyone else. Apparently the personnel guy, we'll call him Tony, had gotten fired from his previous job over a complaint about racism. He'd used the phrase "Black Friday" to refer to, well, Black Friday: the day after Thanksgiving, when sales are supposed to get companies back in the black/ financially solvent. Apparently one of his employees claimed he used it as a racist remark, it got taken to court and somehow, Tony was found guilty and fired. Basically, that meant that he couldn't take any actions against a black worker ever again, because he's got a prior judgement against him. The drivers knew that, and Mike (and one other but he's not important here) absolutely used it to do the bare minimum required to stay employed. That didn't sit right with me either, but I was just a driver, and the new guy, so nothing I could do about it.
Until...
A couple months later, the owner did some necessary maintenance around the place, and one of the things done was getting rid of "my" old truck and buying a new-er one that was half-enclosed/ half open-air racks. The owner apparently said it should go to "whoever had driven the old truck" as an apology for not having heat/ ac in the old one, but I'm not super picky. Offered it to the old guy, because seniority, but he turned it down in favor of "his" truck that he was used to and was fully enclosed. I offered it to the two black guys who actually did their jobs and were pretty decent to me (when Mike wasn't around), but same thing - they wanted their own, enclosed trucks. Ok, cool. Newish truck for me! Spent the first day getting used to it, and stayed late off the clock getting it sparkling clean, inside and out. The only thing it lacked was the new car smell, everything else was polished, cleaned, buffed, shined, etc.
Well, apparently, the fact that I didn't bow and scrape to Mike pissed him off even more, and seeing the "new" truck out back all shiny and pristine was too much to handle. He was already out on a run when I came in the next day, so I loaded up and headed out as per usual. Got back about 5 minutes before his second run of the day was supposed to leave and he came storming out before I could even get out of the truck. Screaming profanity, "how dare you take my truck, get tf out of that thing, get your sh!t out, that's my truck, I'm gonna take it 'cause it looks good and I deserves it, you're just a bitch, you don't deserve anything nice, I'm gonna f**k you up," etc etc.
Side note: I don't tolerate bullies at all, and I don't back down easily. I was always the little kid, growing up, and I learned just how far I could push it, mouthing off and calmly standing up to kids bigger than me because "oh, you're so tough? You're gonna pick on a little girl?" As I grew up, I tended to work in "men's jobs," so I was used to taking some sh!t but also drawing a line firmly in the sand and defending it. I am occasionally surprised I haven't gotten decked a time or two, but I've gotten pretty good at reading a situation.
Back to the story: I'm sitting in the newish truck with Mike standing outside the door screaming profanity and threats at me. For all the sh!t that Mike talked, though, I got the feeling he was used to getting his way without actual violence. I calmly opened the door and got out, but left my personal belongings in the truck and locked the door behind me. He was doing his damnedest to intimidate me, getting up in my space, finger in my face, personal threats, etc. I started walking toward the office, which was all the way on the opposite end of the warehouse, and he followed me the whole way, still screaming, threats getting worse and worse, apparently ignorant to the fact that literally every single employee had stopped what they were doing and was watching us. I walked into the office and just stood there for about 4-5 minutes, staring at the owner while Mike just kept going off. He finally realized I wasn't reacting to him and ran out of steam, and you could see the realization of where he was register on his face, but he glanced over at Tony and smirked, probably figuring he was still untouchable.
In the silence that followed, I calmly said to the owner, "You have four black guys working in the warehouse." He nodded. "And you have one woman working out there." He nodded again, and I saw the light come on. Without looking at anyone else, I said, "I do not want to pull the gender card here, but if something is not done about this situation, I will have to take steps to ensure my safety." I grabbed the tickets for my next run, turned around, and walked back to the warehouse to start pulling the orders.
I'm not really sure what happened next, because all the other guys had mysteriously gotten loaded and left on their runs in record time, and I followed not long after. When I got back, Mike was no longer there, and one of the other guys was training the admin lady to be a new driver. Over the next week, I got quiet "thank you"s from her, Tony, and the other drivers who actually did work. The other slacker guy got fired a while later for possession with intent to distribute, I believe. I left about a year later to drive bigger trucks, but by then we had a pretty solid crew of drivers who helped each other out.
TL;DR: I worked as a warehouse/ delivery person with 4 black guys and an HR guy who'd been fired as a racist for using the phrase "Black Friday," so he couldn't take any action without being accused of racism again. One of the black drivers who thought he ruled the place didn't like that I got a newish delivery truck that no one else wanted, screamed and threatened me as I walked into the office so everyone could see; pointed out there were 4 black drivers and one female. Guy was fired.
â
Sorry, that was WAY longer than I thought it'd be when I remembered it. Let me know if anything's unclear or this isn't where it belongs.

Changes 06
Ooof finally! All the major characters have been introduced! Now we can get to the real fun :3
Do you agree that things change in time? Well four years abroad would tell wouldnât it?
Pairing: Reader x Jeno ft. NCT
Words: 4163
Warning: Mild swearing
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5
Jeno leaned against his locker as he let out a big yawn while he waited for Jaemin. One of the instructors caught him before he left class and asked if he could talk to him so Jaemin had gone to fine Hana.Â
Turns out someone was under performing in class and he wanted Jeno to help that person catch up through private lessons once a week. He was surprised to say the least when he found out who it was and wondered if it was some set up since this person was supposed to be one of the top students. On top of that, he was reminded that today was the final day to choose partners for the semester project or else one would be chosen for you at the time.
He was knocked out of his thoughts when he heard someone calling his name and turned around to see you literally running towards him. It had been a few weeks since he joined you and Jisung for the early morning practice and saw first hand how you and Jisung worked as a unit, realizing Hana wasnât bluffing when she said that you and Jisung had a lot of chemistry. He wasnât sure if Jisung was intentionally or unintentionally flirting with you as you went over certain sections of the dance but the way you blushed at a few of his comments made him wary of his friends true intentions towards you.
Did he like it? Not really. Though Jisung was one of his best friends, there was a certain level of affection that Jisung only reserved for you and you only. Could Jeno do anything about it? Not yet. Not until he knew your feelings for sure. Not until he figured what he wanted out.
âWhatâs up?â he asked as you approached him, clearly out of breath. He held back his chuckle when you reached around him to grab his water bottle from his bag to chug down itâs contents before putting it back nicely.
âPlease tell me you donât have a partner yet for third period.â you said after taking a big breath, âI totally forgot, Hana and Jisung betrayed me last night and partnered up behind my back.â
Jeno raised his eyebrows, so Jisung had actually done it. When the two of them talked about the project, Jisung expressed that he wanted to partner up with you since you practiced together often anyways. Jeno had told him that Yeeun wanted to partner with him but he had considered asking you as well since he and Hana had partnered the previous year. Jisung said heâd think about it and Jeno guessed this was his answer. Little did he know, Jisung had no intention of partnering with you and only waited for the last minute to tell you.
âI donât have a partner yet. I was gonna ask you at lunch today so I guess itâs perfect timing.â Jeno said, moving a piece of your hair behind your hair as if heâd done it all the time.Â
This was his first time.
âWhereâs Jisung?â he asked, clearing his throat as you both blushed from his action.
âUhh...He went to nap in one of the practice rooms since itâs a study period. Iâm actually rushing to the library right now. Jaehyun said that I can nap instead of work books if I beat him there.â you explained, âAnd thank youuuuuu. Hyuk asked me earlier and I said I already asked you.âÂ
âSo you were planning on asking me already?â Jeno asked with a smirk and you rolled your eyes, âWhy didnât you say anything sooner?â
âCause told everyone that sheâs partnering up with you for the project.â you shot, looking down at your watch and frowned âThatâs why I checked first. But I have to go. Jisung and I gamed all night and I really need this nap. Iâll see you later.âÂ
And just as fast as you came, you were gone. Jeno grinned to himself and told himself that heâd have to buy Jisung lunch sometime.
âWhereâs Y/N going in such a rush?â Jaemin asked, appearing by Jenoâs side.Â
âLibrary. She said something about meeting with Jaehyun.â Jeno said as the two started towards the library where their class was supposed to meet, âI wouldâve said to wait but she was running.â
âSo she did take my advice.â Jaemin said smiling, âShe said that she was having issues settling back so I told her to talk to Jaehyun since he spent four years in America.â he explained when he saw the confused look on Jenos face.Â
âSheâs having issues settling back?â Jeno asked, scrunching his nose while pushing up the bridge of his glasses, âHow did you know?âÂ
âI asked.â Jaemin said, turning to look at Jeno with a straight face, âShe seemed uncomfortable about something I did what any friend would, I checked in. I am technically her guide afterall.â
âThough like half the NCT members adopted her as their own.â Jeno said thinking about how easy his friends from the club integrated themselves around you so easily.Â
Jaehyun was your teaching assistant for Music Theory while Yuta treated you like the little sister he wished he had. The other members would greet you from time to time and often joined you and whoever was practicing in the morning. They liked the dedication and drive you brought when you were focussed, it was something they admired.
âDoyoung brought Y/N a chocolate bar last week. He hasnât treated us out since nationals last year." he added.
âI mean, your body also doesnât tell you that you arenât pregnant once a month with severe pain so I meanâŚâ Jaemin said looking to the side with a shrug, âAre you happy though? Sheâs back, things are okay?â
âI guess? Sheâs...different. Physically and mentally. There are things about her that havenât changed.â Jeno started, âLike her ability to always see the good in things instead of the negative.â he thought to himself.
âBut thereâs this whole side of her that Iâve seen when sheâs with Jisung and Hana which is like woah...who are you. You arenât the same girl I knew all those years ago.â he said with a sigh, âLike back then, it was the three of us and we were the only friends she had.âÂ
âYou arenât the same Jeno either. You both spent most of your lives together and spent your transition from teenagers to young adults apart. She left and had to adapt to a different place, language and system while we were here. There are going to be things you donât know about each other but isnât that the best part?â Jaemin asked, âAnd from what Hanaâs said, Y/Nâs in the same boat except sheâs trying to adapt back to life home too. Get to know her again and if itâs meant to be, youâll know.âÂ
âWhen did you get so philosophical?â Jeno asked with a pointed eyebrow and Jaemin shrugged, holding up the hand that had a ring on his middle finger.
âWhen I got a girlfriend and decided that I was going to use my club ring as a promise ring.â he answered and eyed the same ring on Jenos middle finger, âWhat about you? You know what they say, the person you give your club ring to is the person youâll be with for the rest of your life.â
âAnd how sweet of you to know that Hana is already the one for you.â Jeno fake gagged, âI donât believe in that stuff. If I give my ring to anyone, itâll be on my terms and reasons.âÂ
âHey, we both know that if Y/N didnât leave and everything went according to your little plan, youâd be thinking the same thing.â Jaemin stated with a pointed look, âAnd donât tell me Iâm wrong.â Â
âYou arenât. Cause youâre right.â Jeno admitted as they entered the library, Jaemin shoving his shoulder playfully.
âThereâs two seats over there.â Jaemin pointed to a table where Yeeun and her friend were waving them over, âJeno?âÂ
Jaemin looked over at his friend who seemed to be focused intently on something else in the room and by following his gaze, his eyes landed on you and Yukhei sitting at a table towards the back and from the look on your face, having an intense conversation.Â
The two of you seemed to notice their presence since you motioned towards the door and Yukhei paled the moment his eyes met Jenoâs. Quickly getting up, Yukhei seemed to say one more thing to you with a slight glare which you only challenged with your own before he left and went back to his own table.Â
âWhat was that about?â Jaemin asked when you looked up at them and waved with a tired smile.Â
âApparently Jenoâs been giving him a hard time and wanted me to tell him to lay off.â you said with a shrug unsure what he meant, âSo I guess lay off?âÂ
âHeâs late two out of three times a week for practice and he didnât even show up yesterday.â Jeno said rolling his eyes, âIf he wants me to lay off then he should actually start showing that he wants to be part of the team. Taeyongs even on the fence about letting him participate at next weeks performance.âÂ
âWhat else did he say?â Jaemin asked after boys sat down, you in between the two, âYou both looked annoyed with each other.âÂ
âCause we were.â you scoffed and looked at Jeno, âHe told me that you have no right to be mad at him when you donât even know the full story. I told him he was lucky I didnât tell you since I feared for his safety.âÂ
âThereâs a full story?â Jaemin and Jeno asked looking at each other then back at you curiously.
âOne that you guys will never know.â you said with a nod before going back to the workbook that Jaehyun had given you. Unfortunately, someone tripped you in the hallways and Jaehyun beat you to the library, âWhat are you guys doing here anyways?â
âResearch project.â Jeno answered, still wondering about the full story. The full story to what?, âI assume Jae beat you?âÂ
âSomeone tripped me in the hallway and I hit my knee against a wall so I ended up limping here.â you said with a sad sigh, your lips in a small pout, âI was looking forward to my nap.âÂ
âThis is why you donât stay up playing video games on a school night.â Jaemin nagged, âIâve told you this.â
âAnd will she ever listen? Probably not.â Jeno concluded ruffling your hair, making you grumble and attempted to swat his hands away, unaware of the eyes watching your table.
A few minutes later, Jisung walked through the library doors and sat down across from you, taking the sweater you had on the table to use as a pillow.
âI assume Jae found you?â you asked as Jaemin poked Jisung, who laid motionless, with a pen, âAre you even alive?â
âDid you see me in first period? Iâm pretty sure our instructor thought I was drunk.â Jisung mumbled, âJae found me and then told me to come here. How can I say no to our lovely T.A?â
âYou donât.â you stated with a straight face before you heard Jisungâs soft snoring. With three packs of colored sticky notes and workbook forgotten, you, Jeno and Jaemin proceeded to play a game of how many sticky notes can you stick on Jisung before he woke up.
A few minutes later, Hana walked through the doors squealing as she made a beeline towards you.
âY/N, Y/N! You wonât believe who I just saw in the hallways.â she said sitting on Jaemins lap, âAnd who the heck is that?â she asked, pointing at the person covered in sticky notes.Â
The game ended in a three way tie since Jisung didnât wake up and now there was a timer to see how long it took for him to wake up and cause chaos.
âHana, this is a library. Shut up.â Jisung said muffled from his faced down position, âWhat the heck is going on here?â he asked when he realized that he was covered in paper and shot a glare towards you, Jeno and Jaemin who all had innocent looks on your faces.Â
âWhat the fuck guys!â he whined when he realized what happened and you, Jeno, Jaemin along with Hana burst into a fit of giggles.
âFifteen minutes and twenty three seconds. Not bad.â you said hitting the stop button on your phone, âThis is what you get for passing out.â
âAnd why you donât play video games on a school night.â Hana nagged and you burst out in laughter since Jaemin had pretty much said the same thing to you earlier.Â
âLike boyfriend, like girlfriend I guess.â Jeno said with a nudge as Jisung continued to glare at the group in front of him..
âAnyways, who did you see Hana?â you asked just as the door opened again and Jaehyun along with three others walked in and everyone turned to look.
âNo way.â you whispered before you got up quickly followed by Hana leaving the three boys in confusion.
One of the guys saw you and grinned as he made his way towards you followed by the others.
âI didnât know the school took in aliens and dolphins.â you said once you were face to face.
Shocked gasps were heard from the tables paying attention, including Jaehyun and Yeeun.
âY/N!â Jaehyun said shocked but the person looked at Jaehyun with a smile, letting him know it was okay.
âConsidering they accept ugly ducklings, I would assume theyâd make an acception.â he shot back with a smirk.
âCan you two not do this now..â One of the other guys said massaging his temples.
âIt confuses people.â the last one said.
âAt least I didnât leave before the program was over to join some stupid ballet.â you shot back.
âYou wouldâve had the same opportunity had you not fucked up your knee.â he said with a grin as you glared.
âY/NâŚâ Jaehyun warned again but the last person that spoke held his arm, telling his friend not to worry.
âAt least I completed the program.â you stated and winced when you felt a flick to your forehead.Â
âThat was lame. Where are those strong comebacks of yours?â the person reprimanded..
âI didnât sleep last night so theyâre currently back in Europe.â you said with a sigh before smiling again and you along with Hana enveloped the two boys in a group hug and you relished in that feeling of familiarity.
âWere you playing video games again?â one of them asked causing Hana to burst into giggles and you let out another sigh.
Around the room, people questioned so many things. A lot of them knew who two of them were, one was a student of the school while the other was someone who was well known to those who were in the ballet community.
Jaemin and Jeno looked at Jisung for answers while the boy; still covered in sticky notes, shrugged, not knowing who this mystery person was either. It was obvious that these were the people Hana was excited to see since the four of you were walking over, immersed in an amusing conversation.
Yeeun gaped as you moved past her, your arms linked with the newcomers, talking in what seemed to be Chinese.Â
âHow does she know them?â she heard her friend whisper to the table as their eyes followed the groups movement as they approached the table with the three boys.
âWhen did WinWin get back?â Jisung asked as he noticed the group walking towards them,â I thought he was supposed to return next semester.âÂ
âY/N said that he finished whatever needed to be done back home and was coming back early.â Jeno said with no hesitation, âI helped Y/N clean her house to prepare for his return.âÂ
âAh, so thatâs what you were doing when you said you were too busy to work on our routine. Got it.â Jaemin said with a nod and knowing smile before looking up with a friendly smile, âWelcome back WinWin.âÂ
âHey guys.â WinWin said waving as the others greeted him, âItâs nice to see you all again.âÂ
âAre you back back?â Jaemin asked and WinWin nodded.
âI brought back these two,â he motioned to the two others with him, âThis is Huang Renjun-â
âThe alien.â you coughed, making said boy pinch your side while WinWin rolled his eyes.
âAnd Zhong Chen Le.â WinWin said motioning to the other boy.
âDolphin.â you coughed again, making the other boy hit your arm.
âI will end you.â he said with a glare.
âTry me piano boy.â you challenged as WinWin and Hana sighed.
âThis is normal.â Hana said when she noticed the confused looks from everyone, âY/N and Renjun went to the same academy in Europe. Chenle and I visited when WinWin and I were there and the five of us hung out and Iâve kept in touch with them since then. What were your nicknames? China Prince and Swan Princess?â
âMore like ugly duckling and China Klutz.â Chenle snorted, making the people at the table laugh as two hands smacked him on the back of the head.
âWaitâŚâ Jaemin said, making everyone look at him, âSomeone with the alias China Prince was said to be one of the youngest dancers with the Chinese Ballet Associationâ
âThatâs me.â Renjun said with a wave, âI auditioned and left Europe my third year before completing the program. Before that, Y/N and I were in all the same classes.â
âHe was the partner that didnât drop me.â you added looking at Renjun, âThen I refused to partner with anyone else after he left. I also introduced him to his current-â
âDance partner.â Renjun interrupted making you give him a what the fuck look and he gave you that smile that said to shut the fuck up and heâd explain later.
âRightâŚâ you said suspiciously glancing at your friend, âDance partnerâŚAlso Ji, youâve already talked to Chenle. Heâs the one that we play games with almost every night.âÂ
âYouâre SirSqueak?â Jisung asked, looking at Chenle and the boy gave up the okay signal with his hands, âDude, we totally needed you last nightâŚ.â he started rambling to Chenle about last night's game while everyone else watched in amusement.
âSo he is aware heâs covered sticky notes right?â Jaehyun asked Jeno and the boy nodded, âK, just checking.â he said before turning his attention to you and Renjun, âSo the two of you went to the same ballet academy?âÂ
âYep.â you said as Renjun nodded once everyone else was seated,
âWe had the same practice schedules and academic classes our first year so we became friends pretty fast.â Renjun said leaning on the table with his arms crossed, âBest study partner I had.âÂ
âOnly study partner I could tolerate.â you snorted, âAnyways, are you two transferring?â you asked once Chenle and Jisung finished talking about their games.
âWe officially start tomorrow.â Chenle answered, âAre you guys free to catch up over lunch today?â
Words of agreement and nods flooded the table while Jaehyun shook his head.
âIâm kidnapping Y/N for lunch today.â he said as you nodded.
âAwe, come on Jae. Youâve literally spent every lunch with Y/N for the last week. Give us our friend back.â Jaemin whined as Jaehyun shook his head.
âWhy donât we have dinner once you guys are done with club activities today?â you suggested with an apologetic look, âI have something to do till about five but we could go after.â
âThat sounds like a good idea actually.â WinWin said, âI checked the fridge, all I see are baked goods so I guess weâll have to go grocery shopping tomorrow. We can invite some of the club members.â
âIâm in for dinner.â Renjun said as the rest agreed,
âI wonât be at club today.â Jaehyun said, âI have something to work on.âÂ
âMe neither. One of our instructors asked me to help someone with the class routine today for a bit.â Jeno said and you turned to look at him.
Around the same time, Yeeun and her friends walked to the table with grins on their faces.
âCan we help you?â Hana asked, looking at the girls.
âR-Renjun, you played the Price in Swan Lake at the O2 theatre in London two years ago right?â her friend asked nervously as Renjun nodded with a charming smile that made her insides melt, âI wanted to know that Iâm a huge fan. Congratulations on making it into the Chinese Ballet Association. Itâs an honor to be a student with you. I hope that Iâll be able to learn from someone as talented as you one day. If you have any questions, Iâd be happy to help you.â
âUh...thank you.â Renjun said awkwardly, not used to the praise, âI actually transferred here so I could dance with a friend again so Iâm unsure if Iâll be helping any classes out or anything. But I was already set up with a guide so I think things should be fine.âÂ
You looked at Chenle from across the table as the two of you fought to hold in your giggles and you felt Renjun nudge you from the side which made it even harder to hold it in.Â
âOh well...really if theres anything.â the girl said again as Renjun nodded and you put your head down, causing Jeno to wonder what was wrong with you but before he could ask, Yeeun asked him a question that stopped your laughter all together.
âAre you still okay with meeting after class today Jeno?â she asked as you gave him a side glance and his eyes met yours before he gave Yeeun a quick reply.
âBe in the practice room thirty minutes after classes and weâll run through the routine.â he said with a curt nod when he noticed Renjun whispering something in your ear that made your eyes wide, âWeâll see how much help youâll need from there.â
âWe can always go straight from English.â Yeeun suggested looking for your reaction, though much to your dismay, you were currently distracted, talking to Renjun. âOh by the way, do you have a partner for the project yet? The deadlines today.â she reminded.
âI have things I have to take care of before then.â he answered, his attention focused on you and not her. âAnd yea, I do.â he said looking to you in which you looked up from your conversation with Renjun to nod and he was thankful you were still paying attention to the conversation.
âOh...I uh guess thatâs great.â Yeeun said with a tight smile as the bell rang, âIâll see you after school.â she said before leaving the library with a grin remembering that itâd be just the two of them in the dance studio.
âYou and Yeeun?â Jaemin asked the question on everyones mind, especially yours though you did a good job at hiding it.
âSheâs apparently failing third period and the instructor asked me to give her a few pointers. So yea, I wonât be going to club today unfortunately.â Jeno said with a sigh and touched your wrist to get your attention when he noticed youâd gone quiet, âAre you okay?â he asked, making you raise your eyebrows at him.
âOf course I am.â you said quickly and turned to Jaehyun, somehow, you felt uneasy at the mention of Yeeun spending time with Jeno after school. You knew you had no reason to since the two of you were even a thing but Yeeun reminded you of someone and you couldnât shake off the feeling of uneasiness so you did what you did best. You ran.Â
âWe should get going though. Can we take Renjun with us? Iâd really like his feedback on what weâve done so far.â you said, making Renjun and Jaehyun give you weird looks but nodded anyways.
âGreat. Letâs go.â you said and grabbed Renjunâs hand where he interlocked your fingers through habit, catching the attention of three boys at the table, âSee you guys after school."Â
Jaehyun was quick to follow, leaving everyone else in their wake confused.
Jeno looked at the spot where you disappeared from, the image of your fingers interlaced with Renjuns transfixed in his mind. The moment Yeeun mentioned meeting up with him after school, Renjun had pulled you into a conversation which he looked like he couldnât wait to have with you. The confused look on your face and the excited look on his made Jeno wary. Renjunâs presence as a whole made him wary.Â
Just who was this guy and was he going to be a threat?
