You know what I would have loved in an alternate TotK with a more nuanced story and a more nuanced Ganondorf, though? For him to still transform into a dragon, but only after his last boss phase. And then, *as the lore of the game stipulates like three times over* (and then constantly contradicts and ignores even though it was the only thing that had lasting consequences ANYWAY), he actually does lose himself.

Like he's just gonna be an immortal dragon now, letting go of his consciousness and goals but still refusing to be erased. And so you'd have a postgame Hyrule where he's just, chilling in the air alongside Dinraal, Farosh and Naydra, and nobody can do shit about that.

It's just where he is now!

Okay vent time bc I'm literally gonna cry

My mom found out I have lgbtq pins put on my back pack and a rainbow bag. She never hid her dissatisfaction with me being gay so I knew her reaction wouldn't be pleasant. However, I'm still upset.

She said that she doesn't want me to go out there bc it puts me in danger. And it would be sweet of her even if not for the tone and disgust in her eyes. I can tell she was condesending me and felt embarassed for me. She isn't outright hateful. I can't call her out on her saying hurtful shit since everything she displays is this passive agressive talk. She has this mask of "accepting" mother but her first reaction for me coming out was to try to fix me. She is sending mixed signals, as always. Her words were: "putting those pins isn't very wise. Can you even fight? Exactly." Like bro??? She isn't trying to talk to me about it, to have a peaceful conversation. She just attacks me with those ice cold statements and calls it a day. She doesn't fucking care if I get beaten up. If I got beaten up she would obliviously blame me. How the fuck am I supposed to feel safe with her? Not to mention accepted. I really fucking wanna chop off my boobs, hair and get most gnc partner imaginable just to piss her off. Let her be uncomfortable. Fuck her. Fuck her and her bigotry.

❆ Two friends torn apart in the end by the gang they'd found their kinship in. Choosing different sides.. but now in this case that ripping and tearing starts a while lot earlier. Over you.

❆ The obsessions could come about a couple ways, maybe John becomes infatuated first then Javier follows suite, maybe vice versa, maybe even at the same time. Regardless to leads to a head on collision in the tricky game of obsession.

❆ They both realize what's happening through catching one another being creeps. Both of them just happened to want to stalk watch you at the same time and choose spots right across from each other. Shit. They both akwardly stumble out explanations to each other until they both are able to catch on. Then it's just akward staring with eyes narrowed.

❆ Both hold it over each others head. Threatening to tell you or Dutch the deplorable things they're both guilty of. John's got more to loose with a son and wife he supposed to be faithful to. They both have each other in a headlock with the information. They can threaten to talk if the other threatens to do so.

❆ They're passive agressive to each other round camp. Backhanded comments and sly insults through gritted teeth. Glares when one of them gets too close to you. Quiet arguments that no one can quite hear.

❆ They bicker and compete over your attention and affection. Javier offers to take you fishing, out to town, teach you how to play guitar. John tries to offer you drinks, take you hunting, insits sit beside him st the campfire.

❆ They also try flirting, neither of them are good at it. Come off as very akward, and it is for everyone involved. Just pretend it went right over your head. John has to be the most subtle out of the two.. unless he's drunk. I mean have yall seen the interaction where he tries to pull Karen onto his lap?

❆ The only thing they agree on is your safety. Both of them are tailing behind you on any mission, one's on your right, others on your left, it's still a competition on you can impress you more during shootouts and chases, but it takes more of a backseat.

❆ If someone does manage to hurt you.. well they can put their differences aside this once to get the bastard back. Dump em in a lake after.

❆ All of this is a lot infighting and competitiveness.. later chapters it gets to sabotage. Whispering and planting suspicions of the other to you. There's a rat about.. Javier tries to throw doubt on John, John tries to throw doubt on Dutch and the others.

❆ John pleads with you, might even ask Arthur and Sadie to help to convince you Dutch has gone mad (He has). Dutch isn't the same person you kknew, nor he knew. He's going to drag you all down with him. Javiers stuck to his side like glue.. he's a lost cause. Why don't you just run away with him? Oh yeah, Abigail and Jack too, he didn't forget about them or anything.

❆ Javier drags the other way. Dutch has never lead any of you astray has he? He's kept the gang going this long. They're just having a rough run ins. Unfortunate roadblocks. You'll all be fine. You just need to follow Dutch.. and him. You two are close right? You wouldn't leave him for John woukd you? John can't even stick beside his own family.

❆ It all comes to a head at the final confrontation.. it's up to you which side you choose.. and what yandere you've fallen into the grasps of.

First of all, I need to express my love for you and how grateful I am for your deep understanding of Lupin and Snape's characters. You're the first person I see that loves them both while also acknowledging their flaws and not trying to sugarcoat Lupin's toxicity (again, thank you)

Secondly, it is because of your great comprehension towards them that I'd like to see your opinion on this. We don't talk enough about Lupin's shitty and completely uncalled for behaviour towards Snape during PoA (and just how well Snape handles it, because God knows most people would have snapped, and he had more reasons than anyone to do so, but only intervened when CHILDREN'S safety was compromised)

What do you think would've happened in a world where, instead of taking Lupin's bullying and mocking during PoA, he returns it just as smoothly and doesn't just let the man walk over him? What of an alternative universe where Snape just says "you know what? Fuck it, I'm a loser but you're no better" and despite still being terrified afraid of Lupin, he also resents him and subtly puts him back in his place every time he pulls the usual shit? (While also keeping his distance because he doesn't want that man anywhere near him)

Would have Lupin gotten angry? Would he get cold feet and keep the distance too because he can't handle Snape actually fighting back? Would this turn into a toxic asf enemies to lovers dynamic with all the passive-agressive exchanges, backhanded compliments and constant fight for dominance in the situation?

Thankyou for the love :') I love the boys, and without their complex layers of toxicity and trauma the boys just wouldn't be The Boys anymore. Lupin's softness is nothing without his sharp edges after all. Its been awhile since I read PoA. Its the next one i'm reading to my boyfriend. But this is a really interesting fic idea!!! Such a small change - but potential big consequences...? Remus is a coward, but in PoA he was spoiled with getting his own way - and things generally went really well for him. I flicked through some of the chapters where they interact, so this isn't perfect - but what if Snape did snap back every time Remus tried to press him...? He was told to keep the werewolf's secret - not to allow himself to be bullied again. ((This this turned into a looooong look into their dynamic. Oopsy.))

Remus Lupin and the Nasty Man who Wont Let Things be Easy for Him

Chapter 7,

Remus arrives ~fashionably late~ to class so he can surprise the kids: 'only bring your wands (no lame textbooks) for a practical.' He is confident, a little playful - dealing with Peeves effortlessly. (His father specialized in things like poltergeists and boggarts, after all.) The kids think he is cool! He already knows all their names! He is glowing with pride just to be there. So adorable I love him. He has 100% been bouncing on his heels with nerves and excitement to teach this lesson. There is no way he was ACTUALLY late - he just wanted to appear aloof.

He wants to be cool - and fun - and comforting - and safe: Why else have the first lesson be getting the kids to face the scariest thing they can imagine under HIS warm protection...? Albus is definitely his role model - they have the same manipulation tactics. Very different to Snapes 'get it right or else' lesson beforehand. He is safe. He is SO safe. He is The Safest Man. He's learned all their names already, isn't that nice of him?? Now he can learn all their fears, too - and he can soothe them!!! How well planned, Mr Lupin… Warm, soft, fluffy Mr. Lupin. So capable and so sweet… He could NEVER be a monster! Nobody will EVER suspect he is a monster...

As Professor Lupin came in and made to close the door behind him, Snape said, ‘Leave it open, Lupin. I’d rather not witness this.’ He got to his feet and strode past the class, his black robes billowing behind him. At the doorway he turned on his heel and said, ‘Possibly no one’s warned you, Lupin, but this class contains Neville Longbottom. I would advise you not to entrust him with anything difficult. Not unless Miss Granger is hissing instructions in his ear.’ Neville went scarlet. Harry glared at Snape; it was bad enough that he bullied Neville in his own classes, let alone doing it in front of other teachers. Professor Lupin had raised his eyebrows. ‘I was hoping that Neville would assist me with the first stage of the operation,’ he said, ‘and I am sure he will perform it admirably.’ Neville’s face went, if possible, even redder. Snape’s lip curled, but he left, shutting the door with a snap.

Though Snape was still being nasty about the previous lesson - this was a HELPFUL comment more than it was a jeer at Neville. He almost didn't say anything at all - but turned on his heel at the last second. He knows Remus was irresponsible with danger in his youth and is new to teaching. So he gives him a tip: 'Longbottom is difficult to manage. Granger is capable and trustworthy. Pair them together if you must.'

...Honestly he was basically setting Lupin up to look good. Anything Remus said would have seemed lovely, even a terse "Yes, well, thankyou Professor. We will see about that." ...But Lupin politely and confidently spat back. Always politely. He wasn't rude to Snape, but the meaning was clear: 'Back off, Severus. I decide what my students can handle.'

Snape's lip curled. (That's his version of a sneering little smile) 'Oh yeah? Good luck with that.' The amount of body language these men talk through, both masters of hiding their intentions and emotions with masks - they fence with words and actions.

How could Snape snap back without seeming like he was lashing out...? Remus bullies by asserting dominance in a way that makes others seem like they're being mean to gentle widdle Wupin if they retaliate, or are being silly if they defend themselves. Remus is desperate for his students to have confidence in him. To think of him as their sweet savior. To soothe his worries of posing a danger to them, of being rejected, of being suspected…

Snape’s lip curled. "…Then I wish you good luck, Mr. Wolf." he drawled as he left, shutting the door with a snap.

…Maybe that treads the line of what he is allowed to say. Remus would scramble to Dumbledore's office in a panic, to get him to warn Severus not to play silly games... but he would have to do that later, in secret - away from the kids. In the immediate - he would stammer to remind them: "Of course, Lupin means 'Wolf' in French… Snape is just making a little joke!" But god, what a way to knock him off-balance-!

I don't think it will change how the lesson goes. If anything, Lupin will be more keen to push Neville to humiliate Snape via his Boggart. Especially knowing he will soon be seeing Snape's lip curl in triumph as he gets told off by Dumbledore - because Remus snitched. How humiliating, getting a 'teacher' involved. (They're little boys at heart.) There is nothing Snape likes more than humiliating a bully. Every time 'Boggart' is mentioned Snape has the sweet memory of seeing Lupin look so pathetic in-front of Dumbledore, his role model. Every time a kid calls him 'Mr Wolf' as a joke... Remus will have to pretend he 'doesn't mind much', but gently insist they use his real name, please. He will know to tread carefully around Severus.

Chapter 8,

Harry is at a low point emotionally. He is having a good chat with Lupin, who seems to understand him better than other teachers. Though, Lupin is still speaking vaguely, making allusions - much like Dumbledore.

'Sit down,’ said Lupin, taking the lid off a dusty tin. ‘I’ve only got teabags, I’m afraid – but I daresay you’ve had enough of tea leaves?’ Harry looked at him. Lupin’s eyes were twinkling. ‘How did you know about that?’ Harry asked.

If it didn't say 'Lupin' you'd 100% believe Albus said that - complete with twinkling eyes and an awestruck Harry. ((This is making me wanna do a whole thing comparing how Albus and Remus act)) Anyway - In this cozy atmosphere, where Remus is enjoying being the object of Harry's awe, and not telling him he was his parents' close friend...

He was interrupted by a knock on the door. ‘Come in,’ called Lupin. The door opened, and in came Snape. He was carrying a goblet, which was smoking faintly, and stopped at the sight of Harry, his black eyes narrowing. ‘Ah, Severus,’ said Lupin, smiling. ‘Thanks very much. Could you leave it here on the desk for me?’ Snape set the smoking goblet down, his eyes wandering between Harry and Lupin. ‘I was just showing Harry my Grindylow,’ said Lupin pleasantly, pointing at the tank. ‘Fascinating,’ said Snape, without looking at it. ‘You should drink that directly, Lupin.’ ‘Yes, yes, I will,’ said Lupin. ‘I made an entire cauldronful,’ Snape continued. ‘If you need more.’ ‘I should probably take some again tomorrow. Thanks very much, Severus.’ ‘Not at all,’ said Snape, but there was a look in his eye Harry didn’t like. He backed out of the room, unsmiling and watchful. Harry looked curiously at the goblet. Lupin smiled.

Aka. Severus walks into the beasts den and finds a pup. Have you ever seen Severus act so polite? So appeasing? So... dare I say... submissive? Even Harry knew something was up - worried Snape was acting meek because he was trying to POISON Remus. (Only in his dreams.)

And Remus-! All smiles! Harry is looking into the goblet? SMILE! 'I was showing HARRY, who is here in my office with us RIGHT NOW, my Grindylow! ...Oh, 'my' potion? Yes, yes... how kind. Lovely. Marvelous. Please and Thankyou and GET OUT.' Antsy. On edge. Calm twinkling eyes are now jaw-clenching smiles.

Lupin drained the goblet and pulled a face. ‘Disgusting,’ he said. ‘Well, Harry, I’d better get back to work. I’ll see you at the feast later.’

'How lovely Severus is to brew this innocent potion! I shall drink it now! Teehee, its a bit yucky~ Anyway Harry YOU SHOULD LEAVE.'

He just made the boy some tea, ready to have a heart-to-heart... and because Severus came in with his wolfsbane: screaming internally. On any other day, with any other person, Severus would have struck his pitchfork right into his chest and turned him over like hay. They are both defensive here. Cats circling each-other. Severus is SO spooked due to it being close to the Full Moon, entering a private room with Remus - and now having to speak carefully because The Lad is there - he just allows Remus to be the boss 'Yes, sir - on the desk? Of course...' He just wants to leave. No waxing gibbous werewolf temper. Adios.

...What about a Severus that see's Remus' fear of not being in control of the information in the room - of having Harry ask questions? How about he uses his own discomfort to fuel being a little bugger?

‘Come in,’ called Lupin. The door opened, and in came Snape. He was carrying a goblet, which was smoking faintly, and stopped at the sight of Harry, his black eyes narrowing. ‘Ah, Severus,’ said Lupin, smiling. ‘Thanks very much. Could you leave it here on the desk for me?’ Snape walked up to desk, his eyes curiously wandering between Harry and Lupin. ‘I was just showing Harry my Grindylow,’ said Lupin pleasantly, pointing at the tank. 'Right here would be marvelous.' He patted the the edge of the desk furthest from Harry with his fingertips. ‘...I rather think you should drink it now.’ said Snape, ignoring it completely. ‘Your little chat can wait till you recover, surely.’ ‘Yes, yes, I will-’ Lupin seemed a little flustered. His eyes darted to Harry's, and for a moment he thought he could see fear. Harry's stomach dropped a little as he peered curiously at the goblet. ‘I made an entire cauldronful,’ Snape continued. ‘Since you will be needing more than this for your... particular condition-’ ‘Yes, Thankyou, Severus.' Lupin spoke firmer now, cutting him off. Harry had never seen his gaze look so sharp. 'I'll take more tomorrow, then.’ There was an odd standoff between them. Snape's head tilted as he opened his hand for the goblet, but kept his distance. The edge of Lupin's smile strained for a moment before he tipped the strange, steaming brew back and started to drink. Harry had a mad urge to knock the goblet out of his hands. ‘Ugh... Pity sugar makes it useless...’ he almost choked taking one last hurried gulp, leaning to hand the smoking goblet over. ‘Indeed. A pity.’ said Snape, lip curling into a smug hook. There was a look in his eye Harry didn’t like. 'Potter - I highly recommend you leave the Professor alone now to rest.' He turned sharply, cloak flowing behind him as he left. The smoke left a funny smell in his wake. Harry looked to Lupin. There was so much to say he was tongue tied! Does he warn him that Snape wants his job? Does he ask about the potion? A part of him even wanted to comfort his teacher. Adults didn't usually have this much trouble with Snape... ‘Well, Harry, he is right - I’ve been feeling a bit off-colour recently. I’ll see you at the feast later.’ Lupin stood quickly, gesturing him to leave. ‘...Right,’ said Harry, putting his empty teacup down.

I think, if anything, Harry being there would have made Severus bolder. Remus, at the end of the day, can't bring himself to start fights. To refuse to drink the potion would make him look like a child. Rather than seeming like he has a foot up on Snape he now seems a little... pathetic. Infront of the boy he wanted to impress.

Severus is cornering Remus to drain his confidence. He isn't threatening to out him - but he is speaking as if he might, keeping Remus on his toes while staying completely innocent. He is playing Remus' game against him, and is better at it. He has the advantage of far less to hide - and far less to prove.

Chapter 14,

This is the one where Remus and Snape have their grand sparring match about the Marauders Map, but I wanted to add something to what Snape says to Harry beforehand:

‘What did you say to me, Potter?’ ‘I told you to shut up about my dad!’ Harry yelled. ‘I know the truth, all right? He saved your life! Dumbledore told me! You wouldn’t even be here if it weren’t for my dad!’ Snape’s sallow skin had gone the colour of sour milk. ‘And did the Headmaster tell you the circumstances in which your father saved my life?’ he whispered. ‘Or did he consider the details too unpleasant for precious Potter’s delicate ears?’ Harry bit his lip. He didn’t know what had happened and didn’t want to admit it – but Snape seemed to have guessed the truth. ‘I would hate you to run away with a false idea of your father, Potter,’ he said, a terrible grin twisting his face. ‘Have you been imagining some act of glorious heroism? Then let me correct you – your saintly father and his friends played a highly amusing joke on me that would have resulted in my death if your father hadn’t got cold feet at the last moment. There was nothing brave about what he did. He was saving his own skin as much as mine. Had their joke succeeded, he would have been expelled from Hogwarts.’ Snape’s uneven, yellowish teeth were bared.

I think Snape would actually be surprised that Lupin hadn't told Harry anything about his father. That HE had told him more about James than ANYONE else had bothered to! He would have expected Harry would now know all sorts of stories where they humiliated him... Unless maybe that was part of a deal? He doesn't talk about werewolves - Remus doesn't talk about his past...? Regardless - I don't think Snape would think it too revealing to say this:

'I suppose your new favourite teacher's painted a very different image of your father. All the better to win your precious trust.'

I think he would be confused that Harry was confused - before getting him to turn his pockets out. It would plant a seed of doubt in Harry's mind: Lupin was keeping BIG things from him.

He strode across to his fire, seized a fistful of glittering powder from a jar on the fireplace, and threw it into the flames. ‘Lupin!’ Snape called into the fire. ‘I want a word!’ Utterly bewildered, Harry stared at the fire. A large shape had appeared in it, revolving very fast. Seconds later, Professor Lupin was clambering out of the fireplace, brushing ash off his shabby robes. ‘You called, Severus?’ said Lupin mildly. ‘I certainly did,’ said Snape, his face contorted with fury as he strode back to his desk. ‘I have just asked Potter to empty his pockets. He was carrying this.’ Snape pointed at the parchment, on which the words of Messrs Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs were still shining. An odd, closed expression appeared on Lupin’s face. ‘Well?’ said Snape. Lupin continued to stare at the map. Harry had the impression that Lupin was doing some very quick thinking. ‘Well?’ said Snape again. ‘This parchment is plainly full of Dark Magic. This is supposed to be your area of expertise, Lupin. Where do you imagine Potter got such a thing?’ Lupin looked up and, by the merest half glance in Harry’s direction, warned him not to interrupt.

First of all: "A large shape had appeared in it, revolving very fast." Excuse me? 'Revolving very fast?' What direction?? That's fucking hilarious

Severus knows that Lupin made this parchment. He recognized the nicknames. Snape is better with Dark Magic than Lupin, Harry especially suspects Snape is keen on Dark Magic - it is ridiculous to call Lupin there to inspect the map, and everyone knows it. Snape wants to corner Lupin (for once) and get him to slip up about letting Black into the castle. Remus, of course, puts on another mask so he doesn't react to anything - and shoots Harry an 'I've got this' glance. Which is all very well and good for a confident Remus that's had Severus under his heel all year... But OUR Severus? The Severus that's made Remus look (and feel) wimpy? ...I think they're both going to get a shock.

‘Full of Dark Magic?’ he repeated mildly. ‘Do you really think so, Severus? It looks to me as though it is merely a piece of parchment that insults anybody who tries to read it. Childish, but surely not dangerous? I imagine Harry got it from a joke-shop –’ ‘Indeed?’ said Snape. His jaw had gone rigid with anger. ‘You think a joke-shop could supply him with such a thing? You don’t think it more likely that he got it directly from the manufacturers?’ Harry didn’t understand what Snape was talking about. Nor, apparently, did Lupin. ‘You mean, from Mr Wormtail or one of these people?’ he said. ‘Harry, do you know any of these men?’ ‘No,’ said Harry quickly. ‘You see, Severus?’ said Lupin, turning back to Snape. ‘It looks like a Zonko product to me –’ Right on cue, Ron came bursting into the office. He was completely out of breath, and stopped just short of Snape’s desk, clutching the stitch in his chest and trying to speak. ‘I – gave – Harry – that – stuff,’ he choked. ‘Bought – it – in Zonko’s – ages – ago …’ ‘Well!’ said Lupin, clapping his hands together and looking around cheerfully. ‘That seems to clear that up! Severus, I’ll take this back, shall I?’ He folded the map and tucked it inside his robes. ‘Harry, Ron, come with me, I need a word about my vampire essay. Excuse us, Severus.’

To Harry - Lupin didn't seem to know what Snape was talking about. He is stunned as the teachers have their little battle - as Severus tries not to say too much, and Remus lies through his teeth about things he doesn't need to lie about. His name is written on it. Dumbledore would know who 'Moony' is. Given the chance to defend Lupin, Harry and the Weasleys would come clean on how they got it. But OUR Harry? He knows Lupin is keeping secrets. He cuts off conversations when he feels stressed, he stammers excuses for odd behaviour - and now Snape has suggested he knew James more intimately than just 'being friends at Hogwarts' - yet has told him nothing of note. He might be a little protective of Lupin, but he has never trusted any adult fully... and he is starting to smell the lies.

‘You mean, from Mr Wormtail or one of these people?’ he said. ‘Harry, do you know any of these men?’ ‘No,’ said Harry quickly. ‘You see, Severus?’ said Lupin, turning back to Snape. ‘It looks like a Zonko product to me –’ 'But you do, right? Professor?' Harry cut him off. The silence was palpable. Remus' soft smile was missing at he stared back, wide-eyed. Snape was just as speechless. He realized, with a sickening drop in his stomach, he had essentially just come to Snape's defense. Before anyone could say anything more, Ron came bursting into the office. He was completely out of breath, and stopped just short of Snape’s desk, clutching the stitch in his chest and trying to speak.

Harry does what Severus has done all year: Snapped back at Remus' attempts at bullshitting. It's Remus' fear: his student is suspicious of him. Severus is just plain confused. He never thought James Potter's son would jump in to take his side on anything... he hasn't had anyone on his side all year, either. Not that thats unusual. Is this history repeating? A Potter defending Severus from Remus...? Nah. Not quite. (Not posting the original quote - because it's long. Remus says he met the mapmakers, and that they would have wanted to lure Harry out - but otherwise just tells him off like a good little teacher - leaving Harry feeling guilty.)

Harry didn’t dare look at Snape as they left his office. He, Ron and Lupin walked all the way back into the Entrance Hall before speaking. Then Harry turned to Lupin. ‘So you do know them.’ Harry asked directly. 'That's why Snape called for you. Your name is on it.' Lupin looked pained for a moment, like he was sucking on a sherbert lemon. ‘That is correct.’ said Lupin shortly. He glanced around the empty Entrance Hall and lowered his voice. ‘I helped make the map. It was a long time ago. Last I knew of its whereabouts it was confiscated by Mr Filch.’ he said not looking any less pained about having to say it. Ron looked amazed, but Harry's expression hardened as Lupin continued. ‘I don’t want to know how it fell into your possession. I am, however, astounded that you didn’t hand it in. Particularly after what happened the last time a student left information about the castle lying around.’ Harry was too keen for explanations to let him continue. ‘Why did you lie?’ Harry asked sharply. I wanted a Harry hurt by Remus' lies. Harry never quite see's his teachers bad qualities while he is at school - because he is only 13. But if Snape being a snappy little bugger has one consequence: It's eroding Remus' projection of a confident man without secrets. Harry can sometimes ignore things he isn't directly interested in, but he is interested in both Remus and Snape. He wouldn't miss that. With some added defensive Ron, because Ron is a good lad.

There are many ways to spin this to be more overt, I took a very soft-handed approach that hasn't ended up changing too much. Baseline, I think: Remus would bend the knee to Severus more often than not. His one true goal is to look good - and Severus' goal is to not let him do that. Snape is BETTER at these games than Remus is. Remus has Dumbledore on his side to stop Snape from getting too loose-lipped, but we all know Snape is clever, witty, petty and vindictive. He finds ways around the rules and does his best to get information to the children that will keep them safe. The only thing holding him back is a slight fear of Lupin. If Remus were to confront Snape, beyond dragging him into a Dumbledore meeting, it would be a 'pretending to be nice, full of backhanded-compliments and cheeky remarks' argument in private. In Snapes office, so Remus can leave rather than have to demand Snape leaves. Because the moment Snape actually becomes angry he would leave - with one last biting remark, so he can feel like he had the upper hand.

Your last reblog about Gwyn being what some people think Elain is... people are confusing "soft" with "not a warrior". Literally all of the women in acotar are feminine and soft. Sarah doesn't write masculine, muscular women (especially if they're going to be promoted to main characters).

Aelin is a great example. She spent her whole life physically training to be an assassin yet she can put on a pretty dress and pass off as a lady. Wouldn't anyone wonder why this lady is a little bit muscular? No, because she isn't.

Elain is just the only one that's not a warrior (though I'd argue that Feyre has stepped back from that, too). It's fine to like that about her, I'm really getting annoyed by training scenes tbh (mainly because I just don't understand shit in them lol), but to claim Elain is the only "soft" and "feminine" character in the series is just... stupid?

Some of her stans making these passive-agressive posts about "protect soft/feminine women" and "sooooo different, she's not picking up a weapon" is giving "not like the other girls energy". There's plenty of authors who write female characters that are not warriors, but they wont read them because they want to bitch and moan that authors (the 5-6 authors they pay attention to) don't write "soft" characters for them.

I agree 100%. Even Nesta, while not soft, is still feminine and it is insane to me anyone would claim otherwise. Book 1 Feyre is the only time an acotar female character wasn’t traditionally feminine and that got snuffed out immediately in acomaf.

I side eye the conversation around Elain so hard. The obsession with the “soft/feminine” characterization turns me off bc they act like it would be this subversive, interesting choice from SJM when… it’s not. Not only would it not be new from SJM, there’s nothing subversive about a female character performing the societal expectation for women. It honestly reads as conservative tradwife rhetoric to me most of the time.

I feel really shit rn because I'm super against saying people are using their disorders as a free pass to be an asshole and I don't think this is the case. But at the same time a friend of mine keeps using her RSD (as a result of her ADHD) as an excuse for being shitty to me.

She just expects that I for instance know that certain things trigger her (but only when said in specifics ways and by specific people) based on her facial expressions. Or that I can catch everytime someone is ironic to her even if she pretends they weren't being ironic. So I can stand up and protect her from those people (most that are our friends and she constantly calls friends). And everytime I don't do that she keeps calling me a shitty friend. So I tell her that I can't do it. That because of the way my autism acts I literally can't read facial expressions or that I didn't noticed it was sarcasm or that since she herself keeps talking about how she has small feet and jokes about it I did not think someone making a similar joke would upset her. But she just says "yeah, sure" and that she isn't mad. And than vague posts about her shitty friends that don't protect her. And now even when I notice she is upset and ask what made her upset and how can I help she says "you wouldn't understand anyway" and vague posts about her awfull friends that don't get her.

It doesn't help that she makes ME feel bad everytime I have to talk to her about trans stuff she got wrong (because she is the director of the gender studies league at our college now) to the point I didn't even talked to her about things like me as a transmasc finding it kindda offensive that she as a cis woman proudly said she wanted to portray a transman in our therapy simulation and didn't because it would be an even harder pacient. Nor the fact she constatly commits the same microagression against one of my best friends (and her best friends as well) since said friend said A LOT OF TIMES that while she marjoritarially uses fem pronouns and is afab she is nonbinary (and sometimes has preference for other pronouns) and feels unconfortable when people call her a woman a thing said friend keeps "forgetting" so she can make the call that all the directors of the gender studies group are woman.

Like most of the times we talk about serious stuff I end up apologizing even in conversations that outside of the moment of the conversation I don't think I was wrong. And her arguments are mostly based on her disabilities. Even though besides my sensory issues with loud noises (and not always) and my stims the only other time she aknowledge my autism was to send a passive agressive coment about how she forgot I have "rigid thinking" because of it. (And she also demonizes my friend who has BPD and BPD ppl on general).

And I made all this post to rant and am still feeling bad an like a shitty friend because yeah sure she did all that but she didn't mean to and she has issues and I'm just being petty (I mean I'm angry at silly things like she passive agressivaly comenting to my friends that our project had took more work even tho I did most of it and the rest was done by the other ppl in the group and not her and this is such a silly nitpick) and ableist (she has cronicle issues and is sick a lot so it makes sense she can't always meet deadlines and she has a lot of trauma so ofc she wants us to protect her from being triggered) and maybe if she was the one remembering things she would show all the times I was a shitty friend.

I just feel so tired of failing to help her. A Small Predicament [Baby Genshin x Reader]

Synopsis: Cursed for a week, the boys either have to live with it or find a cure as soon as possible. You on the otherhand hoped otherwise.

(A/n): It only takes ONE glance for me to start having ideas. It was twelve in the morning yall, enjoy~

Scaramouche

• "Oh you shrank? I couldn't tell-"

• Threatens that he will murder you to pieces and burn your remains but his voice was so squeaky and high pitched (voice crack) that you couldn't help but burst into a tearful laughter. 

• Its payback time  Bully him, take his hat and hover it above his head. Truthfully, without his hat Scaramouche looks like a little schoolboy. Overall less intimidating.

• Tries glaring. Cute. He's really bratty as a kid, sitting on a high chair (which you had to help him get on) and demanding his servants to do his bidding. In reality, his personality never changed. You realized that even as a grown up he still acts like this (bratty kid in a grown man body).

• The curse made his week a living hell. Signora had the audacity to pull his ear when he misbehaves. Childe constantly messes with his hair while giving head pats and the WORST of all, pinching his cheeks. Scaramouche never wanted to commit arson so bad in his life.

• Eventually finds a cure so he doesn't have to deal with it anymore and orders everyone to never speak of it again. Though, he's plotting how he'll get revenge on everyone who made fun of him using the very same curse (You better run).

Diluc

• "Oh…Oh my! Diluc you're just so cute!" 

• Diluc grimaces as you glomp him in this state. How can you help it? With his head so small it makes his hair all the more fluffier! His coat no longer fits him to the point the sleeves had made past his fingertips. He tried wielding his claymore again, only to lose balance and fall flat onto his bum

• (insert kid voice "Retribution!") Did I mention the babyface?

• Diluc tries to act as if everything was normal, acting like the Darknight hero and Mondstadt's Tycoon but fun-sized. He couldn't. There was no way people would take him seriously in business meetings. Same with fighting abyss mages, his smaller form was too much of a disadvantage. Thus you ended up doing most of his paperwork.

• One time you caught him sitting on the floor couldn't reach his office desk  while reading away the various books for a cure. It was three in the morning. You told him it was way past his bedtime and he argues saying when did he ever have a curfew schedule. In the end you managed to convince him and he begrudgingly obliges.

• The type to NOT ask for help even when it's obvious that he really needs it. Before he was the one who helped you reach things from the top shelves, oh how the tables have turned. He avoids Kaeya like a plague unless he was in it for another round of funny remarks. When he wanted to go out and get some fresh air, you insisted on accompanying him. Worst mistake in his life. A travelling merchant bumps into you and commented that you had a very cute son. Diluc was mortified.

• The day ended up with him sulking in his room. Although it was tempting, you resisted from cooing over his adorable form after days of treating him like a child. It wasn't because you were teasing him, Diluc just works so hard that you wanted to spoil him a bit. At least he could still play a game of chess with you.

• When things went back to normal, Diluc ensures that you will NOT see him as your son.

Kaeya

• "Well look who it is, my little Prince Kaeya~"

• Tries really hard not be bothered by it at all. Kaeya still maintains his suave facade, throwing in a couple of flirting lines here and there (and forcing his voice to go a few octaves too low in which puberty has yet to occur HA). Though no matter what approach, he couldn't ignore the sparkling mischievious glint in your eye. You were obviously not taking him seriously.

• Things couldn't get any worse. He lost his masculine physique and boob window, he wasn't able to go to certain places without supervision. But the worst thing of all was that he was underaged. Kaeya hated the fact he couldn't drink anymore, he even insisted you to sneak him a few bottles (which you refused) and had to settle with plain beverages such as fruit juice (what an insult). He was never really grounded since his childhood days but he certainly felt like he was grounded now. 

• Kaeya still kisses you on the lips whether you like it or not. If you ask him to sit on your lap, he will find a way to turn the position into his favour such as resting his face between your breasts. You're not gonna treat him like a kid, nuh-uh, he actively avoids it.

• Since his personality still remains, Kaeya is a naughty child. He will use his innocent appearance to sway people (even you) to get what he wants. That was how he was able to take a sip of the wine he stole somewhere (he wouldn't tell you). Diluc scolded him heavily and threatened to ban him from drinking from his Tavern for a week (they ended up arguing, Kaeya being the passive aggressive little shit he is).

• He was extremely relieved to return back to his normal form again. He has so much to catch up (specifically his bedtime activities with you *wink wonk*)

Child(e)

• "Hmmm to be honest, this actually suits you very much."

• Unlike the other boys, Childe was completely okay with it. Turns out that YOU were the one who was not going to be okay. If you thought taking care of Teucer was energy-draining then expect Childe to take that tenfold and beyond.

• You've officially became his full-time babysitter who is in desperate need of a raise (and rest). You can't take your eyes off of him and archons forbid that he will ever meet Klee. One point he'll be running ahead by your side and the next you'll find him getting himself in a 1vs7 situation with some shady looking treasure hoarders. Childe genuinely thinks he could take them on but the curse downgraded his abilities. You carried him and barely made out of it alive. (This made you ponder whether the best solution would be to strap him against a chair for the time being…)

• Childe being a child will eat all the candies and ice cream he pleases. You wonder if the curse also turned him a few years back or was it that he acts like this simply because he wanted to (it was the latter). He loves being spoiled, spoiled by you! Childe demands your full attention, spoon-feeding his meals, back rubs and head pats. Yep, he's definitely doing this on purpose.

• Did he just call you 'mommy'? (Childe has mommy kink confirmed).  He has so much energy that it was exhausting, you literally had to drag him away from what ever he was doing in order to get him to bed. "No Childe, your sleeping time is 9p.m stop whining." He bargained that he'll sleep if you sleep beside him (you didn't get any sleep. You knew what he was planning. In the end, you tried to make sure he didn't sneak out behind your back.)

• Finally you were able to get out of that hell-hole. Childe promised to make it up to you, you deserve it after all~

Small (aka Xiao)

• "Did you know in the Liyuean language, Xiao translates to small?" You didn't say that out loud. Not when he's this angry (this angy)

• He just stands there, crossing his arms and grumbling. You were hesitant to touch him in case he might hiss at you. Xiao has always been short, maybe an inch taller than you, but seeing him like this made you think 'my almighty yaksha can't be this cute♡'

• He gets mad when you no longer call his name for help. How could you? He's just so precious~ Xiao makes it clear that no matter what form he takes, it doesn't make him weak ("Adepti and you mortals are nothing alike." Or so he says but you could tell he wasn't running as fast as he used to because…small legs). You may not comment on it aloud but he can tell just by the look on your face and it irritates him.

• Also the type to not ask for help but worse. Xiao is an agressive little kid, he seems as if he'll be willing to bite someone's finger off if they try to pet him (He gives strong cat vibes, so thats understandable). His spear was too big for him to wield so he often has to put it away or else he might knock someone over with it. Xiao hates being short so you'll be hearing him complain alot.

• Since he was an adepti, he didn't need to sleep however, the curse must have brought down his power by a significant amount to the point you DID catch him napping. You almost swooned out loud just by taking a glance upon his face. For once he didn't wear his signature grumpy look. Xiao appears like a normal child, one full of innocence. His snoring was soft and breathly but that just meant he was deep asleep. (You wished to take a picture). 

• Of course, everything had to come to an end (much to your disappointment), he still complains about the incident to this day.

Zhongli

• How is it possible for a baby to still look so handsome? (Must be his godly abilities)

• Zhongli is unfazed by this 'curse' since his past lives have already taken many forms. Though for some reason whenever he walks down the streets of Liyue, young girls, mothers, ladies all come him was and start complimenting him and gushing over him (he was suffocating). They'd squeeze him tight or squish his cheeks, it only takes once glance before the little girls start blushing and hiding behind their moms.

• Needless to say, despite what form he is in, Zhongli is still able to get free stuff. He got some free candies and some free kites to play with. You had to help him carry his items. Zhongli ends up tripping too much because his tailcoat reached his feet (he decided to just take it off. You had to hold that too). Seems like he can have anyone do things for him in the end HA.

• He still got that drippy voice and you're just like ???? "What on Teyvat Zhongli, you're a kid." This is why you can't see him as one, its nearly impossible.

• Actively avoids Hu Tao and Childe. Once Hu Tao caught sight of him and chased him for hours, he couldn't stay in one spot knowing that she might just pop out of no where. Childe still spoils him, however Zhongli feels irritated by the fact the only things Childe buys him toys (its different when other people do it.)

• Everytime you guys go back strolling through Liyue, you had to hold his hand in case more women come swarming hin again. You swear that at this rate he might get kidnapped because hes just such a beautiful baby.

• Zhongli learned an important lesson after his curse was lifted: no matter how many years he lives throughout  never take a form of a child.

Albedo

• You find him buried beneath a pile of books and had to dig him out before he suffocates.

• Albedo has the cutest eyes, they're big and round full of curiosity and they sparkle too (he has the prettiest eyes out of everyone tbh). He is the only person who is fascinated by this outcome and immediately goes in the wild to test out his new physique. 

• He was always curious why Klee T-poses when she runs so he decided to try it out himself. She was thrilled to find out that she now has a little brother to play with. In the end, Albedo indulges in the games she always wanted to play but couldn't because he was too old: princess dress up tea parties.

• You felt many things when you saw Albedo wearing a frilly gown and a plastic tiara tucked on his head. Deep down you knew regardless of what gender Albedo was still pretty. Klee even had the guts to redo his hair and hardly anyone was able to recognize it was him at all. He has pigtails, PIGTAILS! You made sure to burn that image into the very depths of your mind forever.

• The only advantage was the he was ablw to fit through small spaces, other than that, being small was way too inconvenient. He knocked down a few of his potion bottles which damaged the floor (thankfully not him) because they were lethal (he wonders how Klee was able to not injure herself when using bombs). You carried him and lifted him to alot of places such as trudging through the snow because Albedo would surely fall on his face due to his small form.

• Enough was enough, he only lasted a day with this and decided to just make a potion and put an end to the curse once and for all.

2 days later, he returned.

Once again, it took Tommy all the self control he could muster not to hug wilbur with his hand when he saw him. Wilbur chuckled and sat down, closer to the giant, he found.

Most of the visit, and the one that would follow, had Wilbur looking through old scientific researches, noting down important info in his book, and talking to Tommy.

And everytime, Tommy brought his hand to Wilbur's head and did what he would later call 'mini cuddles'.

"You like doing that stuff, do you?"

"Been so long since I had a proper hug. My mom used to do that kinda stuff when I was younger."

Wilbur widened at the quiet, hoarse voice.

"... Oh?"

"Yeah." Tommy added, and goodness, he sounded so young. "It was nice... I miss it."

"It's... probably not easy to get a good hug in your conditions." He tried lightning the mood.

"... you're right."

Shit.

That was... very awkward.

Wilbur didn't know how to handle that.

"... I really miss it."

He groaned internaly. What was he supposed to do??!?!? He was very glad when he got away from his house, and disasters kept happening so he didn't have to worry about family dinners. How was he supposed to deal with a kid that missed his parents?!

"Well, um..." he tried, not having a clue where this was going. "At least you're..... not.... alone?" Wonderful start, Wilbur. "I'm keeping you company if that's anything..."

Silence drew out. It was really, really, awkward.

Wilbur's breath got caught in his throat.

A hug. As in, close to his chest. As in, carried by the giant. As in, a good dozen feet away from the ground with little to no freedom of movement....

Oh hell no, he thought.

"Suuuuuuuuure?" He replied.

Tommy smiled, and he tried offering one back. "Just be careful, please." He added.

"Okay." He said.

Then, a hand thrice his size came for him. He closed his eyes as fingers wrapped around him like a blanket and he was brought off the ground.

He felt movement until a fabric, which he deduced was a shirt. He was softly pressed against it as the hand rubbed against him.

That... was.... weird. Weird was a good word to describe it.

Slowly, he brought his hands in front of the mass in a pitiful attempt to embrace it. It probably looked comical.

He felt Tommy's second hand coming and cupping the first. It... didn't feel awful. Weird, sure, but not awful.

After a few minutes that seemed an eternity to the human, he was brought down to the ground. When he saw the giant's expression, it had a smile on it.

"Thank you Wilbur."

"..No problem."

The rest of that day was spent reading the documents and doing lighter conversations with the teen.

Turned out, there was a whole fucking lot of papers to read.

But Wilbur didn't mind going back to the Dome every other day.

And he didn't mind the company there.

But he was determined to finish his researches today.

Which made Tommy's more often intervention particularly annoying today.

"So, they messed up with like, nuclear shit?"

"No, no. The nuclear testings were 4 years prior to that, I told you already."

"But then how come the researches were public after this one??"

"They kept it to themselves, Tommy. Couldn't risk other countries knowing about such a thing."

"Well that's dumb."

"I'm not gonna be one to judge. Can I continue reading now?"

"Mmhh, I don't know, you've had your head stuck in the paper since you came."

"Tommy."

"Okay, okay. Geez."

"Thank you."

He read in silence, a small satisfaction building inside of Wilbur with each page closer to the end.

And he was really glad Tommy wasn't in a too rambly mood today. Sometimes, he would tell stories of when he was younger, or elaborate on random thoughts. It was nice and a wonderful occasion to know the teen better. Not to mention, the giant was very endearing. But today, all wilbur needed was calm and silence.

And he got silence.

As time went by, though, he felt eyes more and more insistant looking at him.

With a small grunt, he looked up and saw the face almost 5 time his size (could be more, he wasn't sure himself.) Looking indeed at him like he was trying to read his soul.

"What's up?" He tried not to be too aggressive in his tone. There was only 10 or so pages left.

"You know I was like you before."

A beat of silence. Then confusion.

"... what?"

"Finish your reading and I'll tell you about it. You want it done today."

Wow. Way to be passive agressive.

"... I..." wilbur sighed. "I can take the papers back home and study them there." He sighed, putting the small little pile down. He wouldn't get much sleep, tonight, would he? "What do you mean, you 'were like me'?"

Tommy smiled at Wilbur, though its joy dissapeared as quickly as it came. Melancholy or nostalgia perhaps.

"I used to be... you know... small." He used his hand to illustrate, having his thumb and pointing finger about the size of Wilbur apart.

".... Heh?"

"Yeah." He chuckled at the confusion. "I wasn't born like that."

The natural question followed.

"Then how...?? How did you get like that?"

Tommy looked almost sad as he said. "Well, what are the papers about?"

Wilbur frowned. He looked at the papers, and his book, and back at Tommy.

What are they about?? Well, obviously, about the incident that resulted in humanity's downfall and the mutation of a ton of-

Mutation of-

"... you're a... mutan?" He tried. That sounded weird on his tongue, but that was the only word that applied.

"Victim of a bunch of weird radiations. It almost sounds like a movie speech if you present it right."

Wilbur only looked at him, mouth agape.

".... Huh."

Tommy chuckled humourlessly. "Yeah. I know.

It kinda fucked up everyone."

"Well... I feel like, in those circumstances, it gives you advantages of some kinds." Wilbur reassured.

"... mh. Not that great when I can't have a house that fits me, but..."

Wilbur looked around. "... the dome fits you."

"For now. I'm only, like, 16. I don't know how big I'll get."

"YOU'RE 16 YEARS OLD??!?!?"

Tommy tried really hard not to burst out laughing at the absolute shock. Hand rushing to cover his mouth.

"Mh-hm." He nodded, repressing his wheeze.

"Holy shit you're a FUCKING CHILD!!??!"

"I'm a teenager."

"YOU'RE A FUCKI- OH MY GOD."

Wilbur paced around the room as Tommy giggled in small bursts that vibrated through the brunette's body.

"A child. A child who turned into a fucking giant. And he's my neighbour. What the fuck. What the actual fuck."

"I thought you figured out, since you always call me a child."

"Everyone my younger by at least two years deserves that nickname- I knew you were young but holy shit-"

"Well, I'm almost a man if you take the old legal system."

"Yeah,right" he scoffed "the legal system that surely applies 8 years or so after turning into ruins- Wait."

Wilbur paled and he looked into giant blue eyes.

"... How long have you been alone?"

The silence covered the room like a suffocating mist.

Tommy's throat was tight, he tried a few times, opening and closing his mouth as nothing came of it. And his eyes were teary as he replied.

"Well... 8 years or so."

If you actually did monozukis and lucys relationship without contradictions people wouldn't continue asking. Write a believable story that isn't a contradiction. Monozuki isn't loveble, and since I know you are going to write some semi passive agressive shit about how not every character needs to be loveble let me elaborate - he does need to be somehow loveble since you want to earn money on it. Have fun on your trip.

Their relationship dynamic is similar to that of Harley Quinn and Joker.

You were right the first time-- characters don't need to be lovable to have a following. (See: Joker, Hannibal Lecter, Loki, Kylo Ren, etc etc). 'Lovable' is a subjective perception that varies from person to person.

And most importantly, Monozuki is not my character so I don't decide what he is or isn't like. @machonachos has the final say on what happens with Monozuki because it's his character.

Yesss. It's just so fucking lame that Sky and Riven's little rivalry is one sided. Oh the mean little poor asshole who has clearly never had a role model in his life and is visibly trying his hardest and fucking up despite his efforts is bullying the innocent perfect little prince of the richest empire and relm in the dimension

It's so fucking annoying, main reason I used to hate Sky before I started looking at his flaws and ways to make them have narrative consequences and get his ass with a character arc. Like it drives me up a wall

Rivalries are always 200% better when their mutual, that is not disputable, it's a fact of the universe. Why when give them this rivalry if your not gonna make it mutual?? It would be so much more fun that way

And yeah! Sky's actions being actually worse is a huge boon because it makes up for the difference of Sky being nice and Riven being not. So it keeps things balanced, neither of them are much worse assholes than eachother, as god intended

I would of loved for the narrative to acknowledge this two, it would be joyous. I don't think you could make a plot out of it, outside of what already went down in s1, but it just being acknowledged in the story would just be glorious for me

Riven would likely completely his character arc first because he had a little push (life altering trauma), so it would be very funny if he was throwing popcorn at Sky's face and telling him to go get therapy to be more likeable while Sky has his face in his hands wondering how he fucked up so badly with Bloom. It would be really really funny, I promise

Am I the only person who did see it like that?? Like I thought that was intentional, it's not supposed to be girl boss or whatever, it's ment to be like "what is she doing?". Aisha is trying to prove herself worthy of being in the friend group, and she's majorly defensive of her abilities. You notice after she accepts herself as part of the Winx both this behavior of her being rude to guys and her tendancy to burst out into tears stop because she's less emotionally unstable once she feels like she doesn't have to put up a front anymore and can just be herself without fear of abandonment

Her character arc is pretty clear to me. She's going though what s1 Riven was going though. She's scared of rejection and competely over compensating for it. It's amazing I love it, it sets her up for a BRILLIANT dynamic and friendship with Riven who immediately recognizes what's she's doing. I imagine s2 Riven reminds Aisha quite a bit of herself before she met Anne, so they're would be a friendship of push and pull, trying to build eachother up and grow without suffering more. I can see it so clearly, it would be amazing

Ahhh Musa being a unwarranted dick to everyone, but especially Stella, in s1 for no fucking reason my beloved. Tecna thinking it's acceptable to ask Timmy to DIE for the sake of now being a coward my beloved. Stella constantly being accidentally rude and being insensitive my beloved. It's like a favor packet

I think your focusing on Aisha a little too much because most of these characters are assholes. I think Flora is the only one who doesn't commit some monumental dick moves out of the girls

I wouldn't say that either. Aisha isn't angry when she does this stuff. Agressive? Yes. Angry? No. She's not even agressive aggressive, she's more passive agressive and dismissive. She doesn't raise her voice, she isn't yelling or anything. She's just being defensive and accidentally condescending to all the male characters. It could end up that way if someone was very poor in their handling of this plotline, but it's really not like that

Aisha's main flaw is that she's overly independent when she's actually deeply sensitive and trying to over compensate for it and her fear of being abandoned. Her character arc is finished by her finally letting people in properly to support and help her. I mean look at her Enchantix and Charmix

I don't think it was meant to be boss babe or girl boss or whatever, I think that was a integral part of her character arc and character growth

It's such a tragedy that Riven is the only guy thats gotten a character arc

I love my idiot so much because you get to watch him become a better person and he's soooo important. He's just trying his best to be as good of a person he can be and watching him get better is something that can be so personal

And then you have the other guys

Sky is in DESPERATE need of a character arc. Like man's only got iced out during the end of s1 and then said sorry. That's all. He has multiple people tell him the correct course of action, and he ignored all of them because I genuinely think he's terrified of interpersonal conflict and he did the equivalent of hiding the vase he broke instead of fessing up. The narrative pretty clearly shows that Sky's engagement with Diaspro was both arranged and was likely made when they were very young. Like he didn't want to deal with the consequences of disobeying his parents or pissing off Diaspro, because as seen in s2 and s3 they both took that so well, and he didn't want to leave the person he actually cared about nor hurt her....so he did nothing. AND THATS A FLAW!!! A PRETTY HUGE ONE!!!! Dude acts like a guilty 5 year old anytime consequences are even mentioned, he's so majorly possessive in s2 he makes s3 Riven's and Nabu's actions look down right sensible. Riven's crimes, that are all his own and he wasn't manipulated or influenced into committing, include: Being a chauvinist prick, being a asshole to his squad, the golden kingdom subplot jealous rage, not believing Musa when she said something was up with his bike. Sky's crimes include: Lying to everyone including the person he's (trying to be) in a relationship with, debatably cheating, being in the trees with binoculars like a fucking weirdo (over calls to, sir, your making s1 Riven look mentally stable), and general dickary about Avalon in s2 before he and Bloom were even dating and before they knew Avalon was evil. In conclusion? None of these characters know what a stable response to anything is, and the ladies aren't excluded from this. I'm looking at you Musa acting like Riven personally belongs to her all though out s1 and s2 before they were dating (and getting big mad, or smacking people because of it), Aisha thinking breaking and entering is an acceptable way to find out if someone like likes her friends, and Tecna expecting Timmy to attack the Trix (which would of gotten him fucking killed let's be real) and being all fucking grumpy when he didn't. Not a single character in this show understands how to act like a nomral person, AND SKY NEEDS A CHARACTER ARC. I'd say he's on the same level as Riven for assholery, with the difference being that Sky is nice and Riven is not, but I think Sky's actions are worse??? So it balances out. Get this bitch a character arc about learning to be KIND instead of NICE and fucking STAT. I'd eat that shit up tbh. Make Sky go though reflection and work too please, preferably in s2 and s3 so to show that realizing your a bad person is a lot slower when you're not in the middle of a terrorist plot after waking up from manipulation/mindcontrol and shown an illusion of you as a monster

Seeing Sky become a kinder more respectful person would make my day. His good boy status from the characters that don't personally know him doesn't bother me all that much, because it shows that Sky has a way of coming off as a....good boy, but that additude from people who know him is very annoying actually. Just hit him with the angst stick until he fucking acts right, just like the narrative did with Riven, please I'm begging you. I have the perfect stick to start beating him with too, it's gonna be great—

"But Rus!" You say annoyed that you haven't been able to get a word edge wise in this whole time. "What about Timmy?" Yeah, for Timmy to have a character arc the narrative would have to acknowledge that he changed in any way. I'm dead serious. You remember in s2 when Timmy got this sudden burst of confidence and started giving orders to the guys, you remember how in s1 he could barely hold a conversation, you remember how in s2 all the guys treat this event as it's completely normal Timmy behavior? Timmy's character doesn't grow, it just changed in logical order. It is less that he became more confident over the course of the show, and more like the writers wanted him to be more confident but decided that he wasn't worth the screen time of letting him grow into said confidence and learn to love himself, so they just made him more confident as the seasons went on. That is not a character arc, that's character hopscotch. If the show would allow Timmy two seconds of screen time to show off him learning to be more confident that would be very sexy, thank you

As for the rest of them? Nabu is fucking dead, and s4 scrubbed away all his flaws to make it extra sad tm (in reality just making him hella annoying and preachy, I miss my dumbass from s3 that couldn't talk his way out of a paper bag), so he's not in the show long enough in s3 to have an arc and s4 doesn't have the balls. For Helia to have a character arc the show would have to bother remember he's there, give him screen time, and acknowledge his personality, and lol like that's ever happening. I don't think the writers even have flaws for Helia written down somewhere to even have an arc about. Brandon on the other hand is perfect and doesn't need an arc, his only crime is simply being too sexy and likeable, and having women throw themselves at him with increasingly disastrous effects

Come onnn, Riven shouldn't get all the fun of realizing he's a terrible person and learning to be better. Let Sky enjoy the grueling process of change as well :)) and then give Timmy and Helia a littol arc too. As a treat. All you have to do is make that scene in s2 about Timmy learning to take charge and.... acknowledge Helia's existence

I just love how he tried to justify his writing with "ohh, but characters can change!"...yeah, if they got a good writer, but they also do when a bad writer is involved. 👀 He just wrote Quackerjack going full Joker from 0 to 100 without development. This is absolutely bad writing and projecting from Sparrow. Quackerjack is not the Joker nor will he ever be. He was never supposed to be like Joker. He is based on several comic antagonists which got a toy/clown/jester/joker theme going on. It's canon and shown in the cartoon how Quackerjack reacts if someone does him wrong. His company goes bankrupt -> blames video games and tries to destroy them. Darkwing destroys his underground hideout -> wants to blow Darkwing, Gos, the place and himself up! Negaduck steals his wackiness -> he literally jumps on him without a blink and tries to rip out a piece with his bare teeth! Negaduck won't share the money -> he and the others plot to kill him and attacked the as Negaduck disguised Darkwing!

So from where in the world got Sparrow the conclusion Quackerjack would try to prove Negaduck of all he is mean enough? He doesn't give a shit about Negaducks opinion. He just fears him....but not even enough to NOT attack him if he is angry.

Negaduck withheld information he desperately wanted and destroyed Mr. Bananabrain. Following his reaction patterns; he would have projected his anger directly at Negaduck and would have jumped on his throat in a second like he already did in the cartoon.

But then the whole story Sparrow wrote wouldn't even have worked. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ So instead writing a good story he just sacrificed one of the most popular villians of the franchise he claims to love as much as we fans do. Yeah.....
