I'm using TFP Universe because I'm mostly familiar with it, still not too much, but still. I guess it applies to other iterations maybe, idk.

Anyways, for starters.

~ It's complicated

~Srsly, this is probably very long. Maybe....?

~ I'd like to think they knew each other since they were kids.

~ Let's say Orion worked at a local archives ever since he was a kid. Practically grew up there, and he loves it.

~ Let's say Ariel sucks at school (if Cybertronians even have education) and goes to archives daily after school to study

~ Naturally since barely anyone his age visits the archives, Orion notices her and her struggles

~ Their first official contact is Ariel not being able to find a certain datapad, and like, she asked Orion for help and he just pulled out a datapad that was already on her table. She blushes and thanks him.

~ So yeah, study buddies.

~ The idea here is that Ariel never liked asking for help because it would make her look incapable and she's embarrassed about it. But Orion treats her so gently she finds herself asking for help from him so often.

~ He practically indirectly raises her confident levels in terms of asking for help from others. Whaddya know? It worked.

~ Orion on the other hand is getting smitten over time ( by that I mean up until the teens). I think he's a guy who's practically chill with everyone but is okay to not have someone looking forward to see him.

~ While Ariel isn't necessarily doing that, he appreciates that she even CONSIDERS coming to the archives to have him guide her through her studies.

~Orion thinks highly of her really. He likes how she's straightforward and blunt. And she's always nagging him for being messy despite him being an archivist.

~ Ariel doesn't think much of him, but every time Orion makes her blush or smile, it is a core memory

~TIMESKIP TO ADULTS

~ Ariel graduates, so she has no more reason to see Orion, and Orion is now on full duty as a clerk at the Hall of Records as a new promotion

~Orion misses her, but she still comms him every now and then. Every once in a vorn? Idk

~ Ariel herself doesn't know why she does that.

~ I genuinely can't stray away from the idea that Ariel might've been a gladiator like Megatronus (THIS IS THE TFP UNIVERSE, REMEMBER THAT) because she just have the same edges and design like him based on the fan tfp design I found on the internet when I was drawing her

~ Like, picture this, Megatronus brings Orion to the Kaon Gladiator Tournament or smth and-

~ "ARIELLLL?!!!!!"

~ Unintentionally got her distracted and got punched by her opponent, but she still won.

~ They reconnected once more, and Orion was always in the crowd whenever she's fighting

~ Megatronus is left bewildered to find someone enamored and infatuated with Ariel. WITH ARIEL.

~ "Do I look good? I mean, I had my armour polished just for today. Also, did you see her uppercut that guy to the wall? I swear, she is so good. With her bare hands! It's like, how is it such a femme exist on Cybertron?"

~ Orion gets out of character at the sight of Ariel lol.

~ "FOR THE SAKE OF PRIMUS. JUST fragging ask her out already. You are INSUFFERABLE."

~ With that push, Orion asks Ariel out to dinner. One that Orion subtly made sure that it didn't seem like a date to her. And thankfully, Ariel really thought it was just a dinner.

~ With a bot whom she's starting to care for. And eventually the feelings are getting passionate.

~ Said dinners started happening more frequently too, that it becomes a daily routine

~ Orion knew she was the one. He's just waiting for the right moment. He's always subtle with his advances, mainly small compliments and cheers as well as Energon refreshments after her fights. He didn't want Ariel to find out just yet, and bold of him to even assume that would work.

~ Ariel is still contemplating, but she's sure and certain of her feelings as well. She loved Orion's nerdiness, his passionate spark, his determination...his genuine care for her.She loves the way he looks at her, because it was purely out of adoration.

~ They're pinning each other so hard, they don't even realise it lol

~ Yada yada yada, war happens, so unfortunately.

~ Ariel, having wanting to cut ties with Megatron as a gladiator, changed her name to Elita and followed Orion.

~ Absolutely one of the Autobots best fighters.

~ After Optimus becomes a Prime, only then was he confident enough to confess his love and was sure enough to have Elita as his Conjunx Endurae.

"Have you....waited this long?"

I feel like the most important aspect of a relationship is the ability to put up with one another. The good sides, the bad sides. The very messy sides. The sides where you just want to rip it off of you. A good relationship is not just "I love every inch of you", but it's also, "I want to be there for you through every ups and downs.".

I'd like it if Optimus and Elita's relationship mainly focuses on trust, comfort, equality and support. They need each other's shoulder to cry on, and from it, their love can grow and grow.

I have to tell you, I never read the other comics or series because I can't get any access to them. So this may be out of character. Sorry.

Edit : Also, I might be adding so many new HCs over time because there's still some things to be made clear. So when you come back, there's a few new sentences lol

Helloo~ I was bored in class one day so I thought "why not do an art study of the artists I like" except it incredibly scuffed and I really just looked at a bunch of art on their page and i tried my best to replicate one of em

What I noticed first while sketching is ofc the super gorgeous cute style. Though not long into the sketching phase noticed her lines are quite sharp and pronouced, for most of her works she keeps her sketch lines making it seem more mmm hazy is the right word? Or effortless, but with every sharp line a rounded(?) line contrasts it, giving it that signature fluffiness. I absolutely adore how well this all mixes together, i dunno just sonethin bout her lines bro

I love the expression, really gives off absolutely love sick, I didn't capture the eyes quite well (I blame my chonk pen because all good artists blames their materials/j) Macaque looks more scared than breath taken and I put the eyes too far apart. I basically deprived the eyes of its soul lmao note for next time I do a study.

Ok this part has not much to do with the ref pic but her art in general and that includes her writing. I adore the cute HCs and little stories/AUs she would post, just so much creativity and its always so comforting to read as theyre so wholesome and cute. Im so sure one of my first posts here were a drawing of one of her HCs LIKE SRSLY SO CREATIVE. I was also surprised as I saw in some artworks she's able to draw structures and environments that draws your into the scene, its fits the universe so well, just adding to that little wonderment of awe. Shes amazing at coloring too, real soft, but still makes the characters pop, i'd say more but my brain is short-circuiting from all this analyzing. Shes just all round incredibly talented and creative honestly. Her style is exactly what i wanted to have as a kid and what im striving to have now. So cuteee

So far 11/10 art style, love the chibiness, cuteness, expressions, the pure and pastel feel and colors, and details. Just love her in general<3 check out her page lol

Ok so immediately off the bat I knew I was gonna have some trouble here since I've been drawing chibis from the very start.

Just from observing her art I alr saw it has a lot of movement in em, lots of dynamic poses, and LOTS of embraces, really just pouring with that fluff/angst energy. At first I tried the anime body guidelines and boom instant error. Though not all that noticable the heads have sum chonk in em, especially the cheeks, giving that cute factor despite not being a chibi style. Im all for it. The lines are very soft, not a lot of sharp edges and if there are theyre placed in a very subtle way. The expressions are wonderful: from a subtle hopeless smile from an overwhelming roar of grief and anger, she's mastered the the art of slight details that give these effects their magic. Her lines are sketchy but not messy (does that make sense) they clump together neatly, giving the illustration clarity.

AND OMG HAVE YOU SEEN HER ANIMATICS? THE MOVEMENT, THE PACING, THE SMOOTHNESS, THE INTERACTIONS, THE EMOTIONS, THE EVERYTHING. THEYRE SO AAAA ITS LIKE A PROFESSIONAL STORYBOARD FOR A TV SHOW.

The way she uses color too— just o h m y g o d .

Her colors are so bright and clear, so nicely blended together, so bold, but not in the way that burns your eyes, she keeps them neutral in a way, that envokes that sense of harmony; like a sunset. (I legit have one of her colored artworks as my wallpaper) I have lots more to observe, but so far this is all I have to say. The skill of overflowing

Anways, back to the task at hand. I made the heads bigger than i shoulda , cause well chibi artist ehe. Again, I blame my chonk pencil. I didn't get the embrace quite right, but Ion think I could level with the queen of LITERALLY DRAWING TEARJERKING HUGS LIKE? I tried with the hands, I swear. I knew they were a little small but only now am I realizing its that way cause I made the heads too big. I wanna try drawing more in her style as its really just full of movement and flowiness, I wanna try mastering the way she draws perspectives too. I noticed for perspective shots theres this grid for the sky and ground (which is genius) will try that out when I actually pick up digital art again.

Projects update!! (end of 2024)

well this year has been fast hasn't it

ANWAY *CLAPS HANDS* I thought I should update you guys on where the projects I'm working on are at so ye ^^

As you guys now know, I've started working on a new project! A completely original story called Dead on Arrival! It's still in concept stages and I'm still figuring out what exactly I want to do with it (ngl the novel/book series route looks appealing rn) but I love the world and characters and hope you guys stay with me as this project evolves ^v^ The 10 main participants all have concept designs now!! All that's left is to design the two hosts and that's everyone designed! and I have a cool idea to reveal each of them so just you wait :3

As for Hope's Chains, as you all know I recently completed chapter 4!! Which was H U G E. Like srsly I had burnout for at least two weeks and am still maybe a bit reeling from it now lmao I consider the chapter 4 trial to be my personal magnum opus now, that's how happy with it I am :) And I'm glad so many people have enjoyed it! As for upcoming content, the next interlude chapter is complete writing wise and just needs its illustrations done and it should be completed soon! As for chapter 5, I still have some crossed wires to write through but it will come eventually! And trust me. Chapter 5 is insanity. :)

Next, Memento Rosa! I finished Main Story earlier this year and have been working on the first event on the side, and I can say it is currently 30-45% done! I only plan on drawing one of the cards (both trained and untrained though :3) to ease my workload but I've been looking forward to writing this event for forever so I hope you guys are looking forward to it ^^

So that leaves Despair From the Heart. I said I wanted to get chapter 6 done this year, but unfortunately I don't think that's gonna happen. With adult life being adult life and getting busier now that I VA for more projects I don't think I'll be able to get chapter 6 done this year. But I will say this. Despair From the Heart has a minimum of three written chapters left before it is fully complete. Which is. Wild. When will those three chapters release? Idk yet, but they will when they're ready. DFTH is the first project I've ever written to completion which is a HUGE thing for me, but it'll come when it comes. (And I'm sure you've noticed I've been teasing/hinting at something with the DFTH cast and as for that...That's still a maybe. I'm still not 100% sure if I'm doing it yet, but it's an idea that might happen. Who knows?)

I finished the "Say It's Here" sequel and gosh, I'm bowled over! I feel like your understanding of each character's psychology has been heightened since the original was published and It's so impressive! I particularly enjoyed how economical you were with the descriptions according to each character's personality, motivation and dynamic with the protagonist

Also, my god, not higuruma hiromi being the highest quality rebound ever???? Currently obsessed with him and it's kinda funny/sad how many parallels people draw between him and Nanami, understandably, but I LOVE that you flesh out their distinctions here too. Not quite a cameo but he feels more fully realised and real(?) in his short scene than in some entire pics revolving around him that I've read! I quiver to consider what you'd unleash upon the world with a full fledged fic for him (with a different reader character ofc)

But Srsly how does she keep hooking such hotties

Higuruma's "ruthless" rationale and observations is rather kind in its own way, and I thoroughly enjoyed how accurate it felt and also that the reader doesn't mistake it for anything affectionate or coddling. I find that clarity extremely appealing about him, plus it must feel so ridiculously refreshing to the reader character after all the guesswork and her ordeal with nanami

I also think that's one of the more satisfying distinctions you make with their portrayals; nanami (initially) employs logic as a coping mechanism, whereas it's hiromi's basis for functioning, a bit like a bug versus a feature?

At least in accordance with canon events, I think that mindset translates well, nanami's response to traumatic incidences in his formative years whereas hiromi had this rationality inform his life's work?

Especially when ambiguity is often the fulcrum for romantic tension (will they/won't they), my mind short-circuits and a little shiver goes down my spine at the thought of Hiromi instead bluntly telling someone: Us? Sure, Why not?

And then calmly proceeds to decimate every excuse one tries to tank their own dating prospects. You can't filibuster flirting with this man, he's so fucking direct (and vice versa 🤭, sometimes a gal just wants a classic Dom yknow. God, i need help)

Nanami feels more than he lets on in this story, Hiromi is exactly what you expect - which is such an interesting lesson or refraction for the reader character in managing her expectations and self-doubt

Nanami's grovelling feels mostly earned, maybe because it's been a while since I read Say It's Here his interiority is a tad more obscured, or cause the sequel more heavily focuses on reader's POV, which is really well assisted by suguru's commentary/probing/ribbing. Special shoutout to satoru's point blank shit stirring (he and hiromi would be fabulous frenemies)

Also love the open ending because ironically it feels better than emotional closure??? Or probably the finality of her rejecting nanmi again, oof. It's such a satisfying coda oddly i (almost) don't want this story to continue. What a magic trick!

There's such finesse in all the characterisations here, even without my massive bias for higuruma I'd be rereading this a dozen times!

i care more for the opinions of nanami stans for being able to write/understand him and his appeal in a way i can't. still, i try my best to offer something worthwhile. the open ending was more because i couldn't decide the best outcome for the reader and nanami. there were moments i thought about writing an epilogue to hint at the possibility of them getting back together but i've decided it's best to leave it up for interpretation. after all, nanami comes off to me as someone who wouldn't need a 'yes' right away.

also re: higuruma— gahh i was so uncertain if i did him justice, so thank you for noticing that distinction. often i'll write and delete and write again because i worry if it wasn't clear enough. to me, he's very different to nanami. not even the same sides of a coin. still, i get the comparison. both have been strung into the dilf narrative so often i forget that nanami is literally three years older than me.

hmmm augrhhh i keep facing my problem of "writes too much/too long"... i really wanted to make a comic that's narrated by cathal - but while i was writing the dialogue and the text and such in my free time today i realized it... may be too much text. i havent even gotten to the character dialogue's yet that are in the actual comic while cathal narrates things...

it would maybe be better off like? as a fic? but it'd be a weird format since it'd be spoken by cathal but like... i can only imagine this with the images and like. ugh. i like my detail i overexplain stuff i need to learn to shorten things because i dont wanna take any of what ive written away - i may be able to shorten it a but but grrr... srsly if i wasnt insecure about my writing and in general didnt dislike sharing it i MIGHTVE done that but.. yeah i want! the images with it!!

i find it so funny but also vaguely frustrating that when i took like a year+ break from posting art bc i wanted to change my style and become more cartoonish it initially worked and then slowwwwllllyyyy started becoming more and more semi realistic again to the point i didn’t even rlly realize until recently and i just stared at my art like 😐🙄 like don’t get me wrong i do honestly find my style cute buttttt i rlly wanted to draw more simplistic designs………..

like this first image was from april of last year so kinda almost a year ago and its soooooo much more stylized than the second image from december!!!! why do i gravitate towards semi realistic soooo much i wanna be a simple little guy!! also srsly dont take this is me hating my art bc i certainly dont, that second drawing is literally my fave drawing of mine atm (mayyyybe 2nd fave. defo up there at least) im just. vaguely frustrated ish bc i rlly rlly love a lot of the stylized artists out there and i’d love to be able to do that myself. but i always float back to semi-realistic at the end of the day ig.

I feel as though I've lost interest in drawing...and I'm sad about it.

I still draw in my sketchbook, but it's been a while since I've done a full piece. Everytime I'm with my mom, she's always bragging to people about how proud she is of my art, I appreciate it. What I don't appreciate is when she's basically telling me to show what I'm working on or show my sketchbook. :\ But like, it's my hobby. If I wanna tell people I like to draw, or show ppl my art, let me do it on my own terms or if it's ever brought up during a conversation. I don't even like to tell people I draw anymore cause the convos are always the same. 'I can't even draw stick people!' 'wow that's cool!' and the worst one, 'can you draw something for me??'

I HATE when everyone asks me to draw something for them. I always had a hard time saying no, bcause I feel like if I do, I disappoint them and they won't care about talking to me anymore. :\ it's weird. Not only that, but I rarely recieve anything other than a 'I love it, thank you!'. I don't expect anything really. But what are people doing with my pictures afterwards? Hang it up on a wall? Put it down somewhere and forget to grab it when you leave?

plus I got all this art supplies built up from the past few years, I don't really use anymore. (srsly I got three sets of gouache I don't even use.....why me....why did you buy three sets of gouache? YOU COULD'VE BOUGHT MANGA WITH THAT!! )

another thing is it's just not really fun to share my art with ppl anymore. I'm very particular of what I draw these days, so it's very limiting on improving my art, not only that but with my adhd and very awful attention span, it's gotten even worse. I used to be able to spend hours working on something. Now I spend around 20 or so minutes, and I'm bored.

Also people tell me 'YOU SHOULD SELL YOUR ART!' okay. cool. you gonna buy it? how do you expect me to make copies of every drawing? printers cost money. ink costs money. shipping stuff out costs money. buying photo paper costs money. buying any kind of supplies to run any kind of small business cost money.

you say you want me to sell my art, but that costs money too. :\

and heck if I start telling people it's $5 or even $10 for a drawing, they always say nevermind.

I always told people; I love drawing. I don't want to turn it into a thing and eventually start hating it.

I know this all sounds negative of me, but it's just how I'm feeling about the hobby. I really should go through my supplies.

I really would like to try to find a new hobby.

Something from March, figured after the Brigthest Star upload I should follow up with this one xd This is Astra, Wildfanqs other Sona/Mascot and very much associated with the Stars. This one is a bit of a doozy too work-wise because first off - I only used two inks for the whole piece which were "perle noire" & "diabolo menthe" by Herbin (srsly if you like working with inks I can recommend herbin inks to the moon and back they are such a joy to work with) which I think is worth pointing out. Secondly, when I drew her I had a temp ref by Fanq where the ears were missing and me not realizing something might be off drew her without ears. Now, that is a wee bit of a problem for me as a traditional artist. Or at least it seemed like it. I neither really wanted to leave the piece as is, redo it, or draw the ears on separate paper and glue them on because it's watercolour paper it's thick, it would've been distracting and very noticeable. Soooo... I figured I could try to draw in the ears in on the already finished work and if everything goes to hell I will have to redo it anyway. I thought, since the paper is thick I might be able to remove the top layers a bit to get a lighter surface and remove some of the colour and linework because anytime I line a sketch and do the first linework layer going over it with a rubber always takes off some pigment hence why I do multiple lineart steps and I figured.. Same difference right? Just with more stakes. But it worked as expected, I really carefully took off part of the piece where the ears would go with eraser friction and then had to work the raw surface with a bit of water first to get it even, after I drew in the ears and carefully applied colour for the ears - since the surface was still a bit rough I had to be mindful of bleeding, but otherwise it worked out rather well all things considered. Which means good to know that I can do stuff like that with watercolour works, but also I hope I don't have too it was nerve wrecking when I started it XDDD
