!! CHAPTER 7 / DIASOMNIA ARC SPOILERS !!

Apologies for the delay guys, just had a lot of things going on with my life, but let's get into it (Jack's Dream):

So we land in Night Raven College around the Fall Season, and you know how as we're traveling through dreams there's someone who suffers from side-effects? Well for Azul, he ended up passing out with his eyes open and no one noticed at first until they realized he was just staying still 😭. They managed to get him to wake up, and because of that Azul promises to take motion sickness medicine next time.

When the group used "Dream Form Change", Silver didn't recite it this time; because it turns out he already mastered it a long time ago, because he usually uses the spell when he oversleeps and wakes up late. So Sebek tries teaching Azul the whole spell that Idia made and Azul was just shocked, then Idia tells him that he doesn't get the otaku nature and that one must yell out a catchphrase. That's when Azul goes, "Well, you're the only one into those things anyways." BUT IDIA DEFENDS HIMSELF BY SAYING THAT EVERYONE IN STYX IS ALSO A GEEK 😂

But anyways, we got more lore from Idia that the spell we're using right now allows us to take on different forms in dreams. However if we were to do the same in real life, then one must need special permission from the Magic Agency.

Silver praises Azul for getting a hang of the spell quickly, but then Grim pipes in saying that Jamil mentioned that Azul was rotten but useful, that's when Sebek scolds Grim and tells him that he's just misleading Azul and what Jamil actually said is: that he doesn't like him but he's a dorm leader, so making him our ally would be useful AND AZUL JUST BECAME DEPRESSED LIKE THERE THERE BRO 😭 and Idia was not helping either because he just recounts the events of the previous update, even mentioning that Azul signed his tablet (which he tries to erase in a panic because he wants to forget about it)

Azul then tells the group that he feels bad about acting like that in front of star athletes (referring to Silver and Sebek). Of course, the two "star athletes" in question are confused and that's when Azul reveals that a video of Silver and Sebek competing in an equestrian competition went viral on Magicam, where netizens were calling them "princes" and stuff.

But since Silver and Sebek don't use the internet much (for the case of Sebek, he does have Magicam but only for the sake of communication) and thought that people were referring to their horses as princes (pls never change you two). This is where we learn that their horses are named Samson (for Silver) and Tempest (for Sebek). That's when Azul corrects them that the internet was referring to them as princes.

That's when Idia starts dissing sports clubs for getting that much attention but the board game club doesn't even get that much hype. But then Ortho replies that the board game club did end up in the local newspaper BUT WHEN THEY WERE TAKING A PHOTO IDIA COVERED HIS FACE WITH HIS HOODIE BWAHAHAHAHA

While the group is talking, Jack comes running in, telling them to get out of the way cuz he's running late. The bird is seen flying around him, signifying that we're in Jack's dream now. So the group follows him to the Coliseum where we see Savanaclaw and a lot of training equipment.

It turns out that Savanaclaw is training for the Inter-Dorm Magift Tournament (so the dream takes place around the events of Book 2) and bruh Dream!Leona's just acting like those typical sports anime protags where yeah he's disappointed about their loss against Diasomnia but they shouldn't waste their chances and there's still room for improvement yada yada yada

AND EVERYONE'S JUST LIKE NAWWW WHO TF IS THAT 😭😭😭. Everyone agrees that they have to wake Jack FAST.

The group's discussing about Jack's Dream when Sebek expresses that he still remembers the incident during Book 2,where he was not only worried about Malleus but with the other players as well (awww) and Azul's out here acting like he wasn't involved in it somehow and that he was shocked about Leona's plan (not awww)

Anyways yeah he deserves to be judged

So they start devising a plan on how to wake Jack up, and in the process talk about his role during the incident. Sure, he did go behind their backs for the greater good but it was most likely a difficult choice for him since he did look up to them :(( . It's unusual that a junior looks up to their senior, but even then Jack still chose to do what's right and we gotta admire him for that yknow.

Silver compares Jack's dream to Sebek's dream, stating how similar they are and Grim's just like "oh if that's the case why don't we punch him to wake him up" 😭

But that's when Idia comes up with the greatest plan of all: We challenge Savanaclaw in a Magift Match (featuring Idia in hologram form)

The entire scene literally feels like watching a sports anime because Azul manages to come up with a sob story about how Octavinelle and Ignihyde are working hard to make it to the Magift Top Spots and he really be pulling up the question if they still got a chance to Dream!Leona and he agrees like a sports anime rival 😭. So yeah we're given the chance to compete against and the group huddles up first and gives a little cheer

Btw this part's a rhythmic and let's just say you have the option to make Azul suffer even more than he should here 😭 (can't find the full rhythmic but there is a part where Azul just gets launched out of the frame)

Azul's already on the verge of passing out again, so Silver had to call for time-out. Ortho offered cooling spray while Sebek gave him water and then there's Idia who proceeds to make fun of him even bringing up his "athleticism" during his dream like bro that's so foul 😭🤚

In the meantime, Sebek tries to come up with a strategy that won't kill Azul in the process. What comes up is that Sebek will mark Leona, Silver will mark Ruggie, Ortho marks Jack, and Grim and Yuu will run around as decoys.

We're back into the game, and Sebek actually managed to put up a good fight against Leona but ends up throwing the disc out of bounds because he tripped. But then Dream!Leona went and helped him up??? and gave him constructive criticism???? Everyone went "Nahhh Leona would NOT do that".

Now we go to Ortho and Jack, with Ortho evading Jack as he's holding the disc. He also taunts Jack for not being able to catch up to him. So the entire game get so serious to the point that THEY REACH SPACE ONCE THEY JUMPED ???

So Ortho's plan this whole time was to drag Jack into space as a way to bring him back to reality. Why? Because Jack starts showing symptoms of waking up when he realized that he should have been dead by now since he's in space. That's when Jack talks about how he saw Leona play on TV 3 years ago changed him and how he enrolled into NRC just to play with him 😢. Then we get the end scene of Book 2 that finally woke Jack up like nooo :(((

JACK STARTS FALLING FROM THE FUCKING SKY AND EVERYONE PANICS. But thankfully Ortho changes into his Cerberus and catches him just in time. Jack starts crying because he realized everything was fake and that all he wanted was to be a player in Savanaclaw 🙁.

Shadows start to appear but we manage to defeat them. But then, Jack starts attacking us thinking that were also fakes as well. Azul tells him to look at his face and that they're in fact the real deal, but Jack wasn't buying it cuz he remembered he had beef with Azul 😭. That's when Idia's like "this happened because you aren't reliable bro" and Azul's just asking Ortho where Idia's power source so he can turn it off (i love Idia in this chapter man).

We let Jack watch the video and tell him the events leading up to where we are right now, and then he proceeds to pat Yuu and Grim's heads, praising them for making it this far. We also let Jack see his dream self, and yeah the first thing he does is comment on the areas he can work on (#priorities).

Jack and Sebek have a conversation alone, where Sebek expresses that he still holds a grduge against Savanaclaw over the events of Book 2 and Jack accepts it, telling him that he has every reason to be angry; and that left an impression on Sebek cuz that made him think that there's still good people in Savanaclaw.

And that's it for Jack's dream. I was already working on summary for this update but there's this big event going on in my university so I've been doing coverages for 3 days straight and I only just got to rest now (being a journ student is quite tiring) but yeah I will most likely have Ruggie's segment out by tomorrow.

we are officially past the point i am confused no announcement about the new rights holder for TF as a comics property has been made. i was gonna give it a while after the RotB trailer dropped. but. nothing. everyone was like 'oh, instead of doing it immediately they're gonna time it to coincide with RotB building up hype so hasbro can shill the inevitable tie in comic promotion!' but nada. it comes out in three months! comic stores typically order comic series in that many months in advance. so they're almost certainly not doing one, and i just can't believe that would be on purpose? bayverse comics never lit the world on fire sales wise, but hasbro almost always did them, even just little online things, because when you don't pay any production costs there's no reason not to. and with a huge movie coming out, what new license holder WOULDN'T want to knock out a new tie in that comes with built in advertising when you lack a pre-existing readerbase? like??? what is going on!

winter 2024 impressions: majo to yajuu

ohohoho oh my god. like god damn. wow. ok. this was. huh

for the first i'd say half or maybe three-quarters? of the episode this felt like a really solid start of a very typical series, nothing special but certainly watchable and of a high quality. picked it up for morikawa and don't regret it

but the WAY IT RAMPED UP. good lord. by the end of the episode i was absolutely hooked. like it climbed straight from middle of the pack to one of the most hype starts of the whole season for me tf

OH GLADLY <3 These are the main ones that live in my mind rent free teehee (besides the ones I've already drawn out/talked about before ofc ofc)!

• They absolutely LOVE listening to each other talk. They’ll take turns talking about whatever is on their mind, whether it's just something they find interesting, a rant, whatever. Even if the other has been talking for 10+ minutes nonstop, they’ll just sit there and listen, completely enamored by the other.

• Frank will go looking for one of his shirts or jackets, only to find Julie laying around wearing the exact thing he was looking for. Although a bit annoyed, he can’t help but smile as he goes and finds something else to wear.

• Frank is a HORRIBLE dancer, he can’t dance to save his life. Julie, although not the best dancer herself, still tries to teach him as much as she possibly can. Even though he doesn’t particularly understand WHY she wants to teach him, he still enjoys it, since he gets to be close with her and it makes her happy.

• When Frank was still attending Fairview and on the basketball team, Julie would drag the other two to all his games and be his biggest cheerleader. He got distracted on the court by her every so often, but he didn’t mind (though the rest of his team sure did lmfao).

• Whenever they get in a fight, they can’t really stay mad at each other for too long. It would take a LOT to get them to not speak for a few days, but they always make up in the end. Frank blows up a lot, but he’s slowly learning how to control his anger and direct it elsewhere with Julie’s help.

• Frank has like, a sixth sense when it comes to Julie being upset. He’s able to tell almost right away if she’s feelin down or angry, and though he doesn’t always know how to help out, he still tries his best. He’ll typically just scoop her up and cuddle with her until she’s either ready to talk or has calmed down.

• Though it took a little bit of convincing Julie on Frank’s part (since Julie is a bit indecisive with certain shit), they eventually got matching tattoos. No idea what they’d be, but they’d either be on their wrists or their shoulders.

• Frank runs super warm, so whenever she’s feelin too cold, Julie will run up to him and just snuggle against him. This catches him off guard every damn time, cause how tf is it physically possible to be this cold? He’s her personal heater

• Frank is very protective of Julie! He tries not to be overbearing, since he knows she’s a bad bitch that can handle herself, but he’ll gladly beat the shit out of anybody that tries messing with her when he’s around.

• Frank is one of the main subjects of Julie’s silly art/doodles. She never shows em to him, but he catches her eventually and drowns her in compliments. She’s a bit embarrassed about it at first, but he’s her hype man, and his appreciation of her art means the world to him.

   -They love watching horror/slasher films together a LOT! Both of em are pretty desensitized to like, everything, so they honestly just end up talking about and making fun of the movie the whole time. They’d point out stupid shit or crack jokes. Half of the time they’d barely make it halfway through the movie before they’re laughing their asses off over the stupidest shit or making out.

• While Julie is a morning person, Frank is very much not. Julie will try to get out of bed, only to be dragged back by Frank despite her protests. He’ll always say “5 more minutes”, which tends to turn into another hour before Julie has to kick him off the bed and book it so she can finally grab a bowl of cereal or somethin and get her day started.

• Julie is the one typically driving them around, since Frank honestly probably got his license taken away and doesn’t really have a car (he’d steal one, but it’d be a lot harder to get away with that than anything else, doesn’t mean he hasn’t tried tho). She’s always the one in control of the music, despite all of Frank’s protests.

• Julie tends to plan out most of their dates, and will always make sure everything goes according to plan. Frank, on the other hand, will sometimes surprise Julie with spur of the moment dates that honestly typically end in disaster a good chunk of the time.

• Frank loves to get lil treats for Julie since he knows she’s a major sweet tooth. He’ll snatch her some cupcakes from the store whenever he gets the chance, and Julie is always super grateful for this.

• Whenever it's a really bad snow day and neither of them feel like going out, they’ll just hang around in the lodge all day by the campfire, huddled up in some blankets and drinking hot cocoa while they snuggle.

• The amount of shit Frank would steal for Julie and just leave around for her to find is immeasurable. He’s like a lil crow sometimes, he’ll find something that reminds him of her, snatch it, and give it to her.

• Whenever alcohol is involved, I feel like Julie gets super sappy over the smallest stuff, and will drunkenly blabber on to Frank about how much she loves him. It takes a LOT to get Frank drunk, on the other hand, so he’ll kinda just be dealing with a silly Julie for a while until he’s absolutely wasted himself. Then they’d just be stupid together before passing out and waking up with the worst hangovers.

• They love pulling harmless pranks on each other a lot, mainly just to see how the other would react. They also lightly bully each other, mainly just calling each other names or making fun of each other. Neither of them takes it too far, of course, and will quickly stop if they know they’re about to hurt each other by accident.

• For their 1 year anniversary, Frank purposely took her to the coffee shop where they originally met. They sit in the same spot and just laugh and talk for hours, before they proceed to spend the rest of the day doing their silly shenanigans hand in hand.

Some random opening weekend predictions for animated movies for the rest of the year and maybe some 2025 ones, too...

THE GARFIELD MOVIE - Somewhere around $30m-45m. The only thing we can kind of base this on is the live-action GARFIELD from 2004, which did okay at best, wasn't really all that big back then. Whereas this is all-animated and much more recognizably Garfield & co., which I think will help it open above your typical post-COVID outbreak animated movie. It's the first all-new animated picture since KUNG FU PANDA 4, though not the first kid-friendly movie, as IF will open the weekend before it. Still, it's Garfield. Well-known, decades-old character. I guess the only other comparison here would have to be THE PEANUT MOVIES, which opened w/ $44m back in fall 2015. So yeah, somewhere in that ballpark.

INSIDE OUT 2 - Over $100m. The first INSIDE OUT opened with $90m back in 2015. Adjusted, that's definitely higher than $100m now. Anxiety was a huge hit upon the teaser release last fall, too. Could be a Grogu-esque character for the film that gets everyone in droves to check it out... So yeah, easy $100m opening. Will sit up there with THE SUPER MARIO BROS. MOVIE ($146m) and SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE ($120m), as grand champion animated openings post-March 2020. Could even make a play for the record, which currently belongs to the 2019 LION KING ($191m). If we don't want to count those kinds of CG movies, then... INCREDIBLES 2, with $182m.

DESPICABLE ME 4 - Over $60m. MINIONS: THE RISE OF GRU opened to a great $107m back in 2022, being the first movie in this franchise in five years (it had been delayed from its original planned summer 2020 release date), and it also helped that the DESPICABLE ME franchise was over ten years old by that point - the first movie having turned 10 in July 2020. I think that definitely helped MINIONS 2, and out of nowhere came that whole meme with people dressing up in fancy suits to see the movie. That's a sort of thing that can't be engineered, and can't happen again... Thus, I expect DESPICABLE ME 4 to perform a little more closely to DESPICABLE ME 3 (that opened to $72m back in 2017) and open above $60m. Could be anywhere between that and $80m, really. Maybe higher, if there's something of a nostalgia rush for it like there was for MINIONS 2.

TRANSFORMERS ONE - Over $25m. Tricky, given that this is an all-new take on Transformers and all-animated no less. I'll compare this to fellow Paramount animated film TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: MUTANT MAYHEM. That movie came off of two live-action takes on the characters (released in 2014 and 2016), and prior to that there was a single animated movie in 2007 that made an okay amount of money, and there were the three live-action movies from the 1990s, the first of which being iconic... MUTANT MAYHEM opened with $28m last year, so I expect a similar turnout for TF ONE. Especially coming a year after RISE OF THE BEASTS (opened with $60m). With no footage out yet, it'll have to make a real impression the way MUTANT MAYHEM did in order to not get fully dismissed as "Oh, a TRANSFORMERS cartoon now?" Keep in mind, the first SPIDER-VERSE got that kind of reaction in 2018, and opened w/ $35m.

THE WILD ROBOT - Over $30m. I sense a real hype for this one, unlike most non-sequel animated movies released over the past couple of years. And even before COVID, honestly. The trailer really, *really* made an impression. At the movie theater I work at, between co-workers and guests commenting on the poster? Yeah, I think this one possibly scores the biggest opening for a DreamWorks non-sequel since THE BOSS BABY ($50m) all the way back in 2017. The bar isn't too high, for CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS, ABOMINABLE, and THE BAD GUYS grossed between $20-25m on their respective opening weekends, while RUBY GILLMAN came and went. This one, I think, will surprise.

THE DAY THE EARTH BLEW UP - Over $10m. It's Looney Tunes, yes. It's 2D, also. I don't expect a huge opening for it, given how the tides often flow. No doubt fans and those who have been keeping track of its existence will show up. Not sure how GFM goes about marketing and advertising this one, but I'm basing this on how a lot of non-anime 2D films - whether they're based on pre-existing franchises or not - did over the past 15 years.

MOANA 2 - Over $100m. The first MOANA opened with $56m back in 2016 and legged it up to a $245m+ domestic gross. Pretty solid run in theaters... But on streaming? E-X-P-L-O-D-E-D... It continues to be one of the most streamed movies of all-time, every year. Something about it, really keeps it atop the tidal wave. The post-theatrical life for this movie is ROBUST... Thus, I think this sequel will be a massive opener.

THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE WAR OF THE ROHIRRIM - Over $10m. Being an anime take on LORD OF THE RINGS, I think this will largely be ignored on its opening weekend, looked at as just "a LORD OF THE RINGS cartoon". With some diehards and animation fans such as ourselves showing up. Could be a leggy surprise thereafter, though.

MUFASA: THE LION KING - Over $30m. Whenever a sequel/prequel/whatever to a Disney remake crops up, it usually doesn't do great. ALICE IN WONDERLAND (2010), for example, was a billion dollar smash. Six years later came ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS, which didn't make half of what the first Burton movie made worldwide. It did pitifully domestically, opening with $26m, waaaaay down from the first one's $116m opening take. MALEFICENT 2 had a similar trajectory, though not as harsh as a come down. That opened with $36m domestically, down from the first's $70m opening. I think LION KING prequel - coming off of the first, which opened with $191m - has a similar fate. It'll also have SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 3 to compete with.

DOG MAN - Over $10m. Basically a milder CAPTAIN UNDERPANTS. Looking at the likes of MIGRATION and such, it'll be a teens opener, probably having spectacular legs afterwards.

THE SMURF MOVIE - Over $10m. Kinda hard to gauge. A little while ago, Sony Animation did SMURFS: THE LOST VILLAGE in 2017, which opened with $13m. That came off of two relatively recent live-action hybrid movies. In 2025, it'll have been almost 10 years since LOST VILLAGE, so maybe that helps it? Maybe the new approach helps it? Remains to be seen, this is based on what little we know of it... But we already had three Smurfs movies in the 2010s, so it seems like it'll only do alright.

Saw this back when it dropped, never finished an Anime movie so pissed; that 2 hours were spend on what should’ve  been 30min. 

The movie overall could've been a cute short film, without the time skip and unnecessary side characters. Just self indulgence on full display.

And funny how I (a detractor) am talking about the film, thus bringing it back into minor 5sec of relevance, when people who liked the film, (so far as I’ve seen) forgot it even existed. 

When pure raw emotion/ hype is your reason for liking something- when the emotions & hype fade, that’s the hill what you liked dies on.

Hype & emotions do not last forever. Same goes for relationships.

Anyways, 

 The bullying aspect was executed “OK”, very mean stuff.

Though the entire thing was just a huge play on your emotions. Rarely have any female designs that stray from the “stock cute girl design”, no pronounced nose, heavy set, burns that don’t look like tattoos, overbite, sloped eyes, nope just 24/7 the cutest possible iteration. Because how could you feel empathy for someone that isn’t appealing to your Darwinian biases.

Typical presentation, the "insert your tears here" moments were cringeworthy (because you can tell they really, REALLY want you to feel something), didn’t work for me. Worst parts of the movie because it’s so extra and over the top.

Neon Genesis Evangelion had hard to watch scenes because in context they were supposed to be actual larger than life problems. But they were not this pedantic. (and thats coming from me)

Same with that stair climax scene in Garden of Words, with the crying, and leaping on him & shit, the music swell, all over a misunderstanding. Just melodrama stupidity.

You’d think a fool legit died or something.

This is what most Anime (slice of nothing happens) movies are, just unintentional Rom-coms taking themselves too goddamn seriously.

Cause the easiest road to 5 stars for Otaku’s is make a mf cry, that’s all it takes. and what does that even matter when recent generations are so overly emotional these days anyway. WHO ISN’T crying nowadays.

The voice acting was good, from all the cast. (SUB)

 The titular couple had little in common as people, let alone a would be couple,  she was a blank slate of nauseating innocence, but she was cute. (Per japanese obsession = cute cute cute, thats her existence. No attitude, no allergy, no weird hobbies. Nope just Angel in incarnate. Too good for this world.)

He remembered her & kept hounding her out of curiosity, guilt, intrigue and because he’s tall & endearing and she’s short & cute- we’re supposed to want him to succeed in re-entering her life.

Pure superficial aesthetic.

If she had a temper or something, an ugly laugh, sore loser, something/ anything resembling a flawed human being, that would be better. Hell if she went through a transformation and became like a UFC or underground deaf streetfighter badass, that shit would be fucking wild, the movie just throws you the biggest curveball of the anime industry  and funny given she was bullied so that's how she'd cope. 

And it wouldn’t just be a contrived plot point, because it’d make narrative sense as to why she’d feel driven to be a fighter, to never be preyed on again.

The joke would be you'd expect exactly what you got in the movie, someone whose ripe for romantic crap, but she ends up being the exact opposite, still feminine, but not available & has better things to do. Because why not.

Leagues more entertaining, because now the intrigue is: HOW TF is he going to end up with her, HOW?!

But you see, this only works if she’s frail, “cute cute cute” and vulnerable 24/7- ya know the Japanese’ peak standard for a domestic infantile pet, Errr i mean a “WAIFU” guys, my bad. Got the two mixed up...

Otherwise how could the movie possibly end without some kind of contrived romance thread that realistically shouldn’t exist.

And all that time & she has no partner?

If they had any balls they’d made her like girls, instead of some side characters being subtly lesbian, so bold guys, very brave. 

So him getting with her is an impossibility and him making amends can be genuine in isolation outside romantic motivations, thus removed from the fact that he’s obviously guaranteed her hand after the bullshit drama is done. Because that’s the agenda of the events, not actual redemption.

Predictable.

 Him grown up, he was more vulnerable & apologetic due to him being bullied to balance out her innocent nature and that alone was enough to get them to develop feelings. Zero chemistry, just well drawn/animated/colored scenes of being in the same vicinity and being wholesome.

Wholesome isn’t chemistry (*Cough Clark-Kun and Lois-Chan *cough cough), that’s the problem with Deku and Ochako, & it took me a while to figure that out cause it’s easy to think just being cute means that’s a recipe for success. 

 And because he became a victim of bullying like she was, another indicator that we’re supposed to  want them together. More manipulation, so he didn’t have to earn shit. Despite the fact that he deserved that shit, she didn’t. 

You don’t get rewarded for suffering consequences of your own actions. 

  Stock syndrome is cute because the girl is cute, the movie.

Could've been better but could've been worse. never watched it again, but unfortunately the good animation burned it’s existence into my mind.

It was a nice/ “sweet” film for what it was. 

Overly drawn out, melodramatic; The entire story could've been wrapped up as a more concise short film. Under an hour.

Just watch Spirited Away, Mirai, “Flavors of Youth”

or the underrated Dareka no Manazashi (A good short film people forgot existed because it’s not highschool Tween melodrama bait)

And for a simpler take on Man+Woman = Feels 

(though the premise itself is weird)

Gets the point across without holding you hostage for 2 hours, the pacing in this movie is pretty good.

Ya know… I always felt like there was something wrong w me bc I basically never really had crushes on people? But then the question is… was that due to me being ace, possibly aro… or just having stupidly high/specific standards?

Because like… in all of school, I can probably count the amount of ppl I maybe? Was genuinely (in some form) attracted to. A jock class clown who ended up being fairly friendly to me, a weirdo btw, even after I cut his groping kiss short & turned him down for anything like that ever again, a loser class clown who was kind to me, and ended up being a close friend for a few years, and then 2 big & cuddly jock types, one being sweet and bookish, the other being more of the stereotype, and then another weirdo like me but who wasn’t a social outcast simply bc he knew how to put on the social extrovert mask, who later became my spouse.

Thing is, near everyone was also incredibly stupid throughout school- academically, emotionally, general lack of thoughts period really… and while I could appreciate someone as visually attractive, I was never like “yeah I’d like to fuck them.” Even those I maybe crushed on, and then the 3 of them I dated… I was never the one to instigate more than hugs & leaning on each other. The closest to “I’d like to fuck them” has only ever been “I’d fuck them.” Not that I necessarily wanted to, but if they did I wouldn’t be entirely opposed.

But like… idk. If the only typical expressions of physical attraction that occurred in my relationship was cuddling, holding hands, hugging, and small kisses on face/hands? I’d be perfectly happy w that. But… I’d also do any of those w a good friend if they were comfy w it?

Like… is it just that my asexuality is so expansive that the only things left that I truly genuinely love and enjoy are things that could also be completely platonic? (Ofc anything can be platonic really, but like… ya know, platonic in the “cishet girls being super affectionate w their other cishet girl friends” type of being incredibly affectionate in ways that could be construed as romantic but aren’t? Like that. That type of affection. Platonic.) or am I aromantic?

How do you discern between romantic & deep platonic love? Close friends, for me, are people I’m comfortable being 100% myself with. Telling them those deep dark secrets. Yapping for HOURS about my nonsense. Being physically affectionate if they’re comfy w it. My current longest lasting friendship involves me & them playin animal crossing for hours or fr just sitting there running our mouths, maybe I help them dye their hair or sum, and sometimes I sleepover & we both sleep in their bed 🤷‍♂️ but… that’s… also a potential partner? Like… I can’t think of anything more I really want from a partner than all the same things I’d like from a friend. MAX Review: Kichcha Sudeep Shoulders High Octane Action Thriller- Telugu Funda

After a series of unimpressive movies, KIchcha Sudeep delivers a strong mass masala action thriller

Inspector Arjun Mahakshay goes with the name Max– the name no one barely calls him but recognised by only one of the many villains. Max comes with the track record of multiple suspensions and transfers due to his unabashed sincerely. The typical honest police officer role. However, MAX is not about Arjun. MAX is a one-night crime cover up thriller; an escaping drama from two powerful ministers and their men after the death of the minister’s son in the police station. 

Writing strong villain characters and making the hero overcome the obstacles and dangers set by the villains is a perfect template for a mass masala action thriller that doesn’t treat its characters as just tools to elevate the heroism of the hero. But, MAX does use all the characters as tools for the sake of the hero. Sunil playing the gangster Guna is the main villain, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar as an insider cop working for Guna gets an interesting entry into the story with the hyped heftiness of a fox-like cunning cop. But, that doesn’t hold for long. We are made to believe that the villains are too powerful only through the shivering fears expressed by incompetent police officers. Vijay Kartikeyaa should have taken a bit more care to craft the intelligence of the characters rather than just telling the audience to believe that the politicians and gangsters are really powerful and dangerous. 

MAX is not a flawless movie. It has its flaws, far too many from the standpoint of characterization. However, MAX works well because of Kichcha Sudeep’s heroic screen presence as an all-powerful big-brain strategic cop who never loses his cool unless he is talking on a phone call. The Lokesh Kangaraj’s Khaidi like plot-line of one-night actioner and goons of powerful men covering up the entire isolated police station gives MAX an immediate sense of tense urgency that keeps the audience hooked for the next moves. And, the positioning of the police station– designed by  Shiva Kumar– in an isolated place is also a bit less convincing but it had to be that way for the plot to progress as Karthikeyaa had written it. 

The heroic swagger of Kichcha Sudeep fired up by the background score of Kantara-fame Ajaneesh Loknath saves this underwritten escape thriller that engages you throughout the film.

BACKGROUND 

He was born on December 1st, 1998 in Ulsan. ( He is 100% a Sagittarius. Take that as you will! )

Has 3 younger siblings and he will fight to the death for each of them. 

He was adopted in 2006 by two very lovely people and as far as he knows, they’ve always been his real parents. They never were super well off but the love was always there.

Had some temperament issues but instead of acting out in a negative way, he was encouraged to put the pent up emotions into exercise and music. Taught himself the guitar, took up sports etc.

This is how he discovered and came to love rock music. It was a key factor to expressing his anger in a healthy way.

Didn’t get to Seoul until around 2012. They moved for his dad’s new job.

He and his friends formed a metal band in junior high, Dim, that lasted until 2018.

In 2016, a talent agent at LGC approached him after he participated in a singing contest but after two years of freeloading vocal lessons, he peaced tf out. ( Let’s just say a lot of stuff was going on with his life and he was having a crisis. )

He enlisted in 2018 because he didn't know what to do with his life. He was on cooking duty and a marine and he still holds onto the disciplines a bit even still.

After he came back, he went right into working and became a chef to explore his second passion.

Eventually in Jan. 2020, he was approached by another talent agent interested in signing him again to LGC after an open mic night in Hongdae.

PERSONALITY & STUFF

He’s extremely straightforward and a tough love kind of guy. Surprisingly strict when it comes to things like worth ethic and achieving the goal he’s got planted in his head. He also can be super competitive, especially in sports or fighting games.

A huge wrestling fan. As in the dramatic people running around a ring wearing spandex kind. He finds it hilarious and hype so he tunes into American and Japanese wrestling programs a lot. Also loves UFC. Not sorry to his roommates.

Works out a lot. Like a lot. Is into boxing and weights and is all about that protein..

Originally, they had refused to have a joint page. But when Atsumu found out how much attention twins garnered, he went right ahead and created a page under both of their names.
