Congratulations! If it’s alright, for the event could I have prompt 6 with Riddle, Floyd, and Idia. Thank you!
6. Crowley has decided to put together a murder mystery for the whole ball and you've been the first one "killed." Whoever is playing detective seems really upset about that.
Hello hello! Thank you so much for your patience with me (シ. .)シ In place of Floyd we have Ortho per your request, I hope you enjoy it friend.
notes: they/them used for Yuu, this was a really fun line up of characters and I really should write for Ortho more, he deserves all the friends in the world. The other requests can be found on my masterlist.
Riddle
Riddle is not fully aware of his reputation. He knows he has one of course, but he is very much under the impression that this reputation is a good one. He very much thinks that the glances going back and forth right now are because the other NRC students know just how intelligent Riddle Rosehearts is and that they stand no chance at winning this game when Heartslabyul's academic reputation is on the line. Because clearly
The steam pouring out of his ears and vein popping free from his skull are not something he is remotely aware of as he stomps through the crowd searching for- well he doesn't really know what. The Headmage had very pointedly said that wild accusations were not allowed in this game.
"The detective only has one chance to make the correct guess, so please make sure you are confident when you make your submission!"
The ballroom is filled with potential suspects, and it's not like he saw who tapped Yuu on the back to single them as their first choice. Really he can't decide what was more brazen, snatching them away while he was literally holding their hand or choosing to pick on the only person who wouldn't complain. The music pauses just as Riddle has managed to get some sort of baring on his surroundings, indicating he was once again too late.
"Our killer strikes again! Our second victim for tonight is Trey Clover, would you please set aside your mask and step up to the balcon-" The headmage's words are drowned out once again, but Riddle's not angry anymore. Frustrated certainly, but not mad, if he didn't know any better he would assume the killer was deliberately targeting him.
"Aww Goldfishie." Floyd has the audacity to look dissapointed, as if his favorite people were getting picked off and not Riddle's. "Aren't you gonna scream a whole bunch over Sea Turtle like you did with Little Shrimpy?"
"I did not scream." He crosses his arms and a bit of amusement returns to Floyd's face.
"Did too. It was really loud and super funny, everybody heard it." Floyd is provoking him on purpose, Riddle looks up towards Yuu to ground himself, but his scowl only deeps when he sees them giggling over something Trey's said.
"Excuse me but I really don't have time to waste talking to you." Both Floyd and Riddle are surprised at how certain he sounds, though one of them is certainly more disappointed. "I need to get back to my... friends and this game is getting in the way of that."
"Aww you're not going to scream any more at all?" Floyd doesn't bother looking up at the balcony, boredom turning his attention away from his role just as Riddle is finally hitting his stride with his. "Fine here," a card is thrown at him that he barely manages to catch, "I don't wanna play anymore if you aren't gonna be fun about it."
"Wait! That's against the rules you can't just-" Floyd is already gone and the Headmage already announcing the game over before Riddle can even think about how not actually upset he is. He feels small, useless, robbed of yet another chance to be normal even if Floyd's behavior is sort of normal for the school. Why can't he just get out of his own head for long enough to have fun? He promised his dorm, he promised Yuu, that he would try, didn't he?
"Riddle?" Speaking of Yuu, they've come straight to him, the trace of a smile is still there even if it's been dropped in favor of concern. "You ok? Did you not have fun?"
"Fun." It's a strange word. He doesn't really think he understands the appeal.
"I'm just annoyed with Floyd's behavior." He crosses his arms, but he is surprised to find that he's smiling. "But no matter, are you ok? Sitting around can't have been fun." You shrug.
"Well it was fun to watch you once Trey told me you were the detective, we were rooting for you!" And just like that the strange disappointment is back. There's pride and affection in your look he hasn't rightfully earned through the rules of the game. But perhaps, he thinks idly as you make no move to leave and stay chatting with him against the backdrop of the party, he was lucky enough to have it from the start.
Ortho
"Night One, the town has elected me Sheriff to address the serial killer preying on our people. Oh or should it be a werewolf? Pity the headmage didn't say..." It's always a bit strange to see Ortho "frown" but tonight it feels extra serious. This Masquerade was his first school event as a full Night Raven first year, AND he had made his own costume. You all had actually, Ace had suggested your little group make them together so you would be able to easily spot each other in case of emergency. And to make things even more extra important, Crowley had decided to assign him (you are pretty sure it was actually random but Ortho was so excited you didn't bother to say) the role of detective in his murder mystery game. You shouldn't be surprised that he was so eager to win, but it was still such a cute sight that you couldn't help but be a bit excited.
"I don't think it's against the rules to pretend the killer's a werewolf, actually that's one of the things we call this game in my world." You really hate adding that caveat onto the end of things, it makes you feel like an annoying old person who can't understand that times have changed. But Ortho never minds when you do, it's more data for him to catalogue and this tidbit seems to really excite him.
"Oh really?! I thought you said it was called 'Town of Salem?' That was how you pronounced it right?" You really should not be surprised Ortho remembers you telling him about a video game, but the mention of it still surprises you.
"Oh no that's just a computer game version of it. Sort of..." You don't want to waste more of the boy detective's time explaining the concept of the Mafia to him, the last time you tried something like that he had started calling Azul "oyabun" and you both had been made to "apologize" by waxing the Lounge's floors.
"Aww so I don't need to record what I do each night?" Thankfully Ortho doesn't push it further and just bounces back to his normal happy self with a shake of the head. "That's ok, I'll do it anyway! It'll keep me from wanting to review the security cameras hehe." And with that he bows and flies into the crowd, eager to start collecting clues and fulfill his duty as the "long arm of the law." You salute him just as someone taps you on the shoulder and the music pauses.
"And our killer strikes!" Crowley is the one saying it but you can almost hear it in Ortho's voice being added to his notes. "Yuu whatever your last name is I didn't write it down did I please set aside your mask and make your way up to the balcony!" The music resumes as you make your way off the dance floor, making sure to stick out your tongue at Ace who makes fake crying motions as you go.
"Night Two, we lost the prefect! That's just not going to fly with this Sheriff in town..." Ortho stops to consider his movements as the music begins again. Yuu had been "killed" approximately thirteen point two seconds after he left to survey the scene. That means the killer would have to be someone who was around them at the start of the game, either directly next to them or within a brief walking distance. And since they had been bold enough to "kill" just in front of the detective they would have walked away almost immediately, wanting to put as much distance between themselves and the scene of the crime as possible.
"IT WAS YOU!" Ortho joyfully yells, sternly pointing at an extremely surprised Pomefiore student, who drops his incriminating card in shock. Ortho gleefully snatches it up as you begin to make your way down the stairs to congratulate him, something that turns into a sprint as soon as you see the gathering magical energy. "Now awfully sorry partner but this town just ain't big enough for the two of us!"
"No bad Ortho! No lasers! And that's the wrong movie genre!!!!"
"Aw I was just kidding~" Ortho has the audacity to giggle and hit his head in another wrong genre move "If the ballroom goes away we won't be able to play again, right?" Oh you really wish you could explain why him saying that sounds so creepy without sounding insane.
Idia
"What a fucking drag." Idia pities the poor fool who decided to let him keep his tablet during the ball. So what if Ortho was technically another "player," did they really think that meant he didn't have access to the security cameras? It was literally taking him seconds to ID their stupid ass and then this it was going to be GAME OVER. This was always going to be the outcome, no matter who the killer was as soon as they were unfortunate enough to have to face off against him.
So why are his hands shaking so badly?
Yuu is standing confused about what to do, looking around for Mr. Grim probably, he can't help but zoom in on their face, thumb pausing the video as he runs it over their cheek before flinching back to the feed. They speak briefly to their friends before deciding to move towards the edges of the ballroom, looking to get away from the people probably, it's a feeling he knows well. Before they can make it to safety, Cater taps them on the shoulder and the music pauses as they sigh. Maybe they're disappointed at being the first one out, but Idia can't help but feel like they expected it. It sort of makes sense that the magicless one would be the first to go, like deleting irrelevant lines of code. It's fitting in more ways than they know.
"Fork it over." Idia is glad that he's taller than Cater, who seems really surprised that he's listening to his actual voice and not his tablet. The extra inches and flaming hair is really giving him a boost to moral even if he is going to go right back to hating himself for it later. "And don't play dumb I know you're the killer."
"Aww really?" Cater looks slightly annoyed, his finger comes up to twirl one of his annoyingly perfectly messy locks of hair. "#sad, I thought I made off with the Prefect perfectly." He hands over the card and Idia rolls his eyes, he had a speech he wanted to give. Something really cringey clowning on just how stupid Cater had to be to think he was going to get away with-
"Idia!" Yuu manages to tug him away from that train of thought, they must really have booked it here fast with just how breathlessly they called his name. They smile and give him a shakey thumbs up, something that would normally send him into cardiac arrest but doesn't effect him much at all to his surprise. The strange emotion he felt earlier, the one that is still making his hands shakey, is overriding any logical thought or normal behavior forcing him forward towards you rather than back into the shadows. "I just wanted to say good job! I mean I really shouldn't be surprised that you won so fast but it was still really co-" His shakey hand finds purchase on your neck, brutally aware that it's still un-gloved forcing skin to skin contact that he knows will be stuck in his brain for weeks to come. Sure, he should probably just have Ortho do a scan rather than look you over himself, technology doesn't make mistakes, or asses situations off of impulse. But he knows, even if he still asks Ortho to check on you later, that no amount of data would ever reassure him. He needed to feel the strangely fast beat of your heart himself.
"Sorry." Idia doesn't stutter, nor does he pull his hand away. "Can you just... stay like this with me. Just for a little longer." You simply nod, stay still not bothering to close the gap between you so as to allow Idia his space but relax into his touch enough to assure him that he is welcome to do it himself.
If he was forced to tell the truth and not spew his pessimistic drivel, Yuu's care and understanding would be what Idia would say he liked most about them. He didn't say he was afraid of them dying, but they heard him all the same.
When you are ready I am here. And while he might not be ready to say anything out loud, he can say it in the tender way he holds onto you for the rest of the night.

Bounded by shadow and blood (8)
Azriel x magic!fem!reader
It had been two days of nothing. No information, no clues, you are starting to believe that your brother was never here. You even tried to use your blood to call to his hilt or any blood energy he might have spent here but nothing came up.
Amren had seen you grow more and more desperate with each passing hour. She offered, of course to go out and enjoy the town. You didn’t feel like drinking or talking with anyone but you figured for appearance sake you would do it.
She had brought you an all black ensemble to wear. It was a bit revealing but you didn’t mind. If you were going to stand anywhere near her, you’d have to keep up.
You tucked your hilt into the side of your left boot. Just incase.
When you and Amren left the house it was only you too. But somehow, as the night grew, members of the inner circle wormed their way into your plans.
It wasn’t a coincidence that on your walk around the city, you ran into Cassian and Nesta who happened to be out on ‘date night’. But you let it slide, for Amren’s sake. But when you got to the famous place she was talking about, Rita’s, Azriel and Morrigan were tucked into a booth.
Cassian had the fun idea to combine groups. Amren sent you a sympathetic look but you went along with it. Again.
You took the corner and Amren took your right side so that no one else could sit next to you.
As if it weren’t enough about an hour into sitting in the booth, Rhysand and Feyre showed up. All but one person from the inner circle was missing at this point. You rolled your eyes and Amren laughed at your antics.
“How’s your visit so far?” Nesta asks from across the table.
You smile, “It’s been great. Wish I had more alone time with Amren though.”
“It’s always good to make new friends.” Rhysand smirks.
“Do you baby-sit all of your new friends or is that just a special offer for me?” You quip.
Amren giggles into her drink. A few at the table seem to be thrown off at her laughing. You’re not. You’ve known her for a short amount of time but she obviously opened up more to you than she does them.
“We wouldn’t have to if you would just answer our questions.” Nesta says.
“I don’t owe you answers.” You state.
She raises her eyebrows. Cassian turns to her and speaks into her ear. Feyre clears her throat, and you take the chance to look at her. She is the cursebreaker. She has all the fire her sister has and more. And yet she can control herself and come off and cool headed and diplomatic.
“My sister is just curious is all. Don’t mind her.” She says.
You feel the shadow at your ankle. Before you can reach down to swat it away, it grabs the hilt of your sword. It reappears in Azriel’s hand. He looks right at you.
“No weapons in this establishment. Those are the rules.” He says.
“As if all of you don’t have some variant of a blade on you, or that you all aren’t walking weapons yourselves.” You reply to him.
He smirks, “So it is a weapon.”
You look at him then. He had gotten to you admit it was a weapon. Even though you were sure he knew that already. You couldn’t tell what his game is here.
“Give it back.” Amren says.
“On one condition. Spar with me again.” He says.
You look at him bewildered. This male was too smug for his own good. It wasn’t enough that you beat him once. He wanted to best you. He no doubt told the inner circle how he had lost to you because of your abilities.
His ego took a hit. He called you a good fighter. Yeah, right.
You actually don’t mind sparing with him again. You’d like to wipe the floor with him and give his friends a front row seat. You can’t help the Cheshire smile that grows on your face.
“I win, you give me my hilt back.” You state your terms.
He nods, “And if I win, you tell us what you’re really doing here.”
“Azriel do you think—“ Cassian starts.
You hold out your hand, “it’s a deal.”
His eyes seem to widen, but not even a second later he’s taking your hand in his and shaking it. The table goes quiet. All of them looking at your joined hands.
“You just made a bargain,” Amren says and she pulls your hand back, searching your skin for something, “Where is it?”
You watch her in amusement. You know she was looking for, a mark or tattoo that came from the bargain you just made. But that rule really doesn’t apply to you, like most things pertaining to fae do.
“I won’t have a tattoo, fae bargains don’t work on me.” You tell her.
“I wonder why not…” Nesta mumbles to no one in particular.
"I heard of a story where one man's wonder sent him into a spiral od his own demise." you say to her.
Nesta cocks her head to the side with a smile.
-
You were up before dawn. Not like the sight would be as spectacular as the dawn court. But it was still a sight nonetheless. You watched the way the sky seemed to lighten as the sun started to peek out.
Azriel, ever the dramatic, told you to find him before dawn for the match. He told the group how you had seemed to find him in the house even though you didn’t know where you were going and he didn’t tell you where he’d be. All of this information seemed interesting to Rhysand and Nesta.
You know everyone is going to be there. They hadn’t said they would but you could tell that they wouldn’t miss it. The chance to see you in action, the chance to dissect your every move? Nesta wouldn’t miss it for the world.
You were treading up the hill where you tracked Azriel. The hardest part was tracking him. The easy part would be taking him down. You reach the top of the hill and see all of them standing there, waiting for you.
Azriel is the only one with his back turned to you. As Cassian and Rhysand look at you over his shoulder, he seems to get the hint and turn around.
When he catches your eyes he smirks.
“You made it.” He says.
“The hill was a nice touch, very on par for your dramatics.” You say.
He shakes his head, “I hope I didn’t wear you down.”
“Not a chance. You ready to get this over with?” You ask.
Azriel juts his chin over to the empty training ring to his left. You notice he didn’t wrap his hands for this fight. You wonder why that is. It won’t affect the outcome of this match anyways.
You follow behind him as he gets into the ring, dipping below the ropes. You lift the top instead of ducking beneath it. Amren comes to your side.
“Are you sure about this?” She asks.
“I wouldn’t ask me that, ask your friend over there.” You answer her.
She smiles, “You get any better since I’ve seen you last?”
“I’ll show you.” You smile back.
Cassian whistles and gets everyone’s attention.
He goes over the rules. No dirty tricks. No leaving the ring unless for a forfeit. No use of abilities. He looked at you specifically for that one. Which you thought was weird. You thought all they had wanted was to see was you use your abilities.
No matter, you’d win this fight the hard way.
As soon as Cassian said Go, Azriel and you started circling each other. He raises his hands up to his face. You keep your arms at your sides. He reaches for one of your arms but you swing to the other side.
Amren cheers on your side maneuver. Nesta cheers on Azriel to try again.
You know which move to go for next. You fake a swing, knowing he’s going to grab your hand. And you use that to your advantage. You throw your weight down and wrap your legs around his waist. You grab onto the arm that is free and restrain him.
He’s out of it for a moment. Then he slowly raises to his feet. That takes you by surprise. He’s got a grip on your arm like a vice. But he’s holding you like it’s nothing.
You let go of his arm and throw him into a headlock. His wings don’t get in the way until he uses one of them to hit your side. You grunt at the impact and your arms loosen, and your legs buckle.
He takes that opportunity to throw you down onto the mat. He pins your legs down with his and takes both your hands into one of his. His face mere inches away from yours. You struggle against him.
From this close you can focus only on his blood. How loud it is. How it is erratic, more than what you’re used to when someone is fighting. You look him in the eyes now and find he’s looking right back at you. Like he had been looking at you first.
He lets go of you all at once and leaps away from you. You prop yourself on your elbows and watch the scene in front of you.
“Hey we said no magic!” Cassian shouts.
You didn’t use anything against him though.
“She didn’t—it wasn’t her.” Azriel answers.
You pull yourself up and look at him. He looked frazzled. He looked like he saw a ghost. A tendril of his shadow juts out and grabs your ankle. It yanks you over to him, close enough that your feet touch.
“You just used your powers.” You say in disbelief.
You can’t believe it because it doesn’t seem like he did it intentionally. It seemed like another instance where his shadows were doing their own bidding.
“You won.” He says to you.
It happens all at once. The shadow that is wrapped around your ankle lets go of you. Azriel stands at lighting speed and leaves the ring all together. You watch as the hilt of your sword appears in front you.
You grab it and turn to look at the shadow singer who is gone. You try to think to yourself, what just happened?

Icorect PJO/HOO quotes from this website :https://perchance.org/incorrect-quote-generator
Thalia: You seem familiar, have I threatened you before?
--------
Nico: The only thing keeping me from running away and hiding from society for the rest of my life is spite. I could disappear forever, but there are some bitches whose downfalls I have yet to witness, and I wanna be around when that happens.
-------
Percy: So according to the cease and desist order I got, apparently you can’t ‘legally’ be a lawyer if your license is ‘cut out of a cereal box’.
--------
Percy: Pros and cons of dating me. Percy: Pros. You'll be the cute one. Percy: Cons. Holy shit, where do I begin-
------
Grover: Yum, thanks!
Kidnapper: *puts more tape over their mouth* I said stop eating it.
-------
Nico: My aesthetic is "would be suspected of witchcraft by small town citizens."
-------
Annabeth in TLT
Annabeth: *trying to buy a Father's Day card at Hallmark*
Annabeth: Excuse me, do you have any that just say "You are my dad?"
Associate: Well, I-
Annabeth: How about "You banged my mom?"
Associate: No...
Annabeth: You know what, I'll just get a blank one.
Annabeth: *writes* You are a father. This is a day. Here is a card.
--------
Leo: I'm a firm believer in "if you're going to fail, you might as well fail spectacularly."

Nico: You can't wake up if you never get to sleep.

Piper, opening a Capri Sun: Guess I'll drink my sorrows away.
-------
Hazel: War is heck!

Jason: I have yet to encounter a problem where a sword didn't factor into the solution at least in some way.
------
Frank: Well, needless to say. Uh-oh Spaghetti-os.
-------
Will: Can we go to a haunted house?
Nico: What’s wrong with the one we live in?
Will: Wh-what?
Nico: Goodnight, Will.
-------
Percy: Shouldn't get stressed out, it's not good for the baby.
Annabeth: What baby?
Percy, crying a bit: Me.
--------
*The Squad is playing Chess*
Annabeth: *easily beats everyone because they know how to play*
Piper: *doesn’t know the rules, but wins anyway*
Leo: *doesn’t know the rules, and loses*
Jason: *knows the rules, but still loses to those who don’t*
Frank: Actually, you can’t do that, because I said so.
Percy: They named a board game after cheese?
--------
*when the Squad drops food*
Annabeth: Eh, oh well.
Piper: FIVE-SECOND RULE!
Nico: FUCK!
Jason: *just gets more food*
Percy: *drops to their knees and mourns the food*
Leo: *eats the food off the ground*
---------
Leo: Who else is hiding in the laundry room trying to listen to Hazel and Frank's convo?
Piper: Me. I'm in the laundry basket.
Percy: I'm in the washing machine.
Nico: I'm in the closet.
Jason: We accept you Nico. <3
Nico: No I'm literally in the closet.
Jason: Love is love. <3
--------
Frank: Are you trying to give me a frickin’ aneurysm?
Percy: Pretty sure we all are.
Hazel: I wasn't.
Leo: I was.
Jason: I was trying to stop them, for your consideration.
Nico: I just cause aneurysms naturally.
--------
Annabeth: Okay, I’m going to get the wedding cake.
Percy: Perfect, while you do that I’ll check on the ring bear.
Annabeth: ...
Annabeth: You mean ring bearER, right?
Percy: ...
Annabeth: Look me in the eyes and tell me you are not going to bring a dangerous wild animal to our wedding.
---------
Nico: I don't need to go to bed. I'm not tired, I'll be fine.
Will: But, darling, I'll be so lonely without you. Come curl up in my arms so I can feel whole again.
Nico: O-oh. Well. Are you trying to seduce me into healthy sleeping patterns??
Will: Is it working?

Warnings: mentions of Billy fighting, mentions of drinking, mentions of blood, billy being soft, fluff
Summary: Billy is seen as super mean and tough, but what happens when someone from the team finds him being soft with his sister?
Requested by @manyfandomsfanvergent
Billy Hargrove, the new heartthrob in the high school. Your older brother. He was a sight for the sore eyes of many girls who were single or taken. It didn't matter. Everyone wanted a piece of the new boy in town.
Billy was your typical mean guy who gets stuck in a small town with nothing better to do than fight, drink, and party. It was his specialty to throw the biggest parties of the year and have everyone drunk in a few hours. You were kind of like Billy. The partying, the guys wanting you, everyone curious about you.
That's how you ended up dating Steve Harrington. He and your brother never got along but when it came to you, everything was okay. As long as Steve didn't hurt you. Steve only ever did what you wanted him to do. He was a gentleman, contradicting the rumors of him being King Steve. He changed.
So Billy would get into fights, one being with your boyfriend when he was drunk. Another was so bad that the guy had to go to the hospital downtown. He ended up with 37 stitches and a bloody nose. Billy mostly fought when he heard people, mostly guys, talking shit about you. How much they want a piece of you or whatever. The moment your name comes out of their mouths with anything ill toward you, it gave him the green light.
---
Basketball practice had just started when you came into the gym with a friend. Billy turned to you and he smiled. Most of the guys missed it. Not Brad. No, Brad noticed and he was going to dig into Billy about it. It was weird for Billy to be nice. The only thing is, Brad had never met you nor did he know that you were Billy's sister.
You waved for Billy to come over so you could tell him you were leaving with your friend, Vanessa so you could go to the mall. He shot once more and then jogged over to you. Brad stopped the guys and they all watched as you two were talking and smiling. Billy looks like he is listening to everything you say and laughs.
"Why the hell have we stopped?" Steve asks, walking over to James.
"Look, Billy got another girl thirsting after him."
"Huh?"
Billy wrapped his arms around your shoulders and drew you in for a hug. He whispered something in your ear and you laughed before slapping his shoulder. He let you go by pushing you in the brotherly way and you were off. Billy came back with a smile before it disappeared at the guys talking to each other.
"Dude, leave him alone. What is fucking wrong with you?" Steve whispered-yelled.
"Dude, chill. It's just weird seeing him happy and shit."
"He just being himself."
"Being himself? Billy beat the shit out of me like three days ago. That ain't normal."
"You wouldn't know because you do not go to his house like I do." Steve turns away from Brad and leaves.
"What you want?" Billy said.
"We saw you flirting with that girl," Brad smirked.
"Ew. Gross."
"What? She's hot."
"Dude, that is my sister."
"Oh, I'm sorry."
"Nah, you good man." Billy said before throwing a punch square in the boy's face. He fell to the ground and Billy climbed on top of him, punching him in the face.
"Billy, stop. Billy," Steve pulled him off.
"Walk it off man, let's just get back to practice."
"Don't fucking talk about my little sister."
Billy turned to the other guys, "So let's get to it."
Brad was bleeding on the floor but no one wanted to help because they didn't want Billy to fight them. Billy started dribbling the ball when he smiled at Steve.
"Let's get ready to win this game,'' He said before making a lay up.

“Thanks I’m not gonna let them bring me down” He checks his watch “Oh I gotta keep an appointment I’ll be back Jackie hold down the office for me”

“I love that just want you to add an engraving to it I’ll write it down” Chris scribbles a message on a piece of paper and hands it to him
“Oh want it to be extra special huh? Ok and you want to do it when?”
“Election day when everything is announced if I lose least I know I’ve won the girl”
Kev chuckles “Of course I’ll have it done for you”
“Thank you Kev” Chris walks outside and takes a deep breath I hope it’s not too soon I just love her so much and I’m not gonna lose her again

Ninth Brother - Chapter 4
A few more familiar faces popping up…
<<Previous Next>>
Merrin
After the storm had passed Merrin decided to try and find some friendly faces, maybe even rebels in the mining town to the south of the caverns. Koboh was a fairly backwater, or so she’d thought until she’d been captured and Cal had shown up…
BD1 hopped around her feet as she descended the rocky gorge in front of them. She sighed, letting him climb up her back and onto her shoulder where he seemed to feel more comfortable. It didn’t bother her as much as she thought. The weight a reminder she had company and someone to watch her back.
‘You know for an annoying droid you’re a surprisingly good scout’
BD trilled at this, tapping his little foot on her hood. The beeps meant nothing but she could tell he’d appreciated the compliment. She snorted. Rounding the corner the wind whipped up again, BD dug his feet into Merrin’s hood as the pair surveyed the small town below them. Finally.
Merrin spied a cantina and decided that would be the best space to start.
‘Pyloon’s Saloon hmm’ she pondered the name, though it meant nothing to her.
She entered the dimly lit cantina, the smoky haze of the mining town’s energy filling the air with a low buzz of chatter and electronic music.
Merrin scanned the crowded room, her sharp gaze catching on a lively group huddled around a holo-chess table. Credits were scattered across the surface, a testament to the bets riding on this game, and at its centre, a familiar, four-armed figure with a mischievous grin plastered over his face.
Greez. Of all the planets, of all the cantinas, here he was, right in the heart of a backwater mining town on Koboh, winning a round of holo-chess with an outrageous holo-image of a rancor savaging a group of shock troopers. Across from him, an incredulous, frog-like creature—Turgle, she’d heard his name called from the crowd—gapes, his mouth widening as he stares at the board in disbelief.
The crowd lets out a groan of laughter and surprise as Greez leans back, four arms folded smugly, and sweeps the credits into his bag with one fluid motion. “Sorry, Turgle, you just can’t beat a rancor. Lucky for you, I don’t bite as hard as they do!” His laugh echoes over the noise, and Merrin feels a slight, unexpected smile tugging at her lips.
As the crowd disperses, Greez’s eyes land on her, and for a moment, he freezes, then lets out a bark of genuine surprise. “Merrin! Well, I’ll be… What are you doing here?” He stood, tucking his credits away, his expression shifting from suprise to warmth as he closes the distance between them.
“You frequent this place often?” she asks, gesturing around the cantina with a raised eyebrow.
“You could say that- I own it,” he laughed, a note of pride in his voice as he waves a hand to the walls covered in random decor, like repurposed mining tools and parts of old droids. “Pyloon’s Saloon! Not the fanciest, but hey, it’s a fixer upper.”
Her gaze drifts over the place, and she smirks. “And I see gambling away credits is part of the business model now?”
Greez chuckles, shaking his head, unbothered. “Ah, you know me—gotta keep things interesting around here. Besides, nothing wrong with a little game now and then.” He pauses, his gaze softening as he studies her face. “But you’re not here to lecture me, are you?”
She feels the weight of her predicament on her , her shoulders sagging slightly. She glances at BD-1, who chirps in greeting, and her mind shifts back to Cal and the dark road he’s been pulled down. “I’m looking for help, Greez. It’s… about Cal.”
At the mention of his name, Greez’s smile falters, and a shadow crosses his expression. “Cal? I thought he was…” He hesitated, searching her face, but Merrin just nodded grimly.
“Yes. He’s… here, Greez. The Empire has twisted him into something… unrecognizable. He’s after me now.” She forces herself to steady her voice. “I think I can reach him, but I don’t know if I’ll be enough.”
For a moment, Greez just stares at her, the concern and loyalty in his eyes softening the lines on his face. Slowly, he nods, his usual lightheartedness replaced by an intensity she hadn’t seen in him in years. “Well this is unexpected both of you here. On Koboh. But if Cal’s in trouble, you know I’m with you.” He looks around, lowering his voice. “I’ve got some old contacts still hiding out from the Empire. We’ll pull whatever strings we need. You just tell me what you need, and we’ll make it happen.”
The weight in her chest eased, just a little.
‘Have you heard from Cere?’ She nervously asked. Swallowing, her throat slightly dry. The last time she’d spoken to Cere the pair hadn’t exactly seen eye to eye on the Cal situation.
Greez said nothing but nodded knowingly. He beckoned Merrin to follow him to the upper floor.
In the quiet solitude of the back room at Pyloon’s Saloon, Merrin watched as the holographic projection of Cere spawned from the table, her form flickering with faint blue static as the signal crackled through the comms. Cere’s expression was intense, a mixture of hope and caution in her gaze as she listened silently to Merrin’s account of Cal’s behaviour. Despite her original unease, Merrin still knew there was an understanding between them, unspoken but undeniable, forged in the fire of a battle lost—a shared grief over the Jedi taken by the Empire and a hard-won wisdom about the cost of trying to save him.
When Merrin finished, Cere took a moment, her eyes downcast, reflecting. Then, finally, she looked up, her face etched with determination.
“Merrin,” she began, her voice quiet and calm, “Cal. He’s endured things I can’t imagine, but he’s strong. And you’re right—there may be a way to reach him. But for any chance of success, you have to get him alone, away from the Empire’s influence. They feed on the darkness within him, fueling his pain and anger. If he’s isolated, he’ll have no choice but to confront himself. And with you there…” She hesitates, the slightest tremor in her voice. “You were always someone he trusted deeply. More than anyone, perhaps. The two of you knew first hand the horrors of the Empire’s uprising’
Merrin swallows, the weight of Cere’s words settling heavily on her. Dathomir in flames flickered behind her eyes. Cal, alone with her, unguarded, vulnerable… She knows how much of a risk that would be, both for him and herself. Cal’s pain had buried his kindness, his compassion, under layers of bitterness and fury, and she’d felt the power of his rage firsthand. But she also remembered the Cal who had once looked at her with gentle warmth, who had accepted her as she was, without hesitation.
“Thank you, Cere,” Merrin replied, her voice low but sincere. “I know things were… difficult between us after Nur. But I trust your guidance.”
Cere nodded, a flicker of regret swept over her face. “I know we’ve had our differences, Merrin. But we’re on the same side in this. I only hope that together, we can prevent him from falling any further.” She looks at her with a firm gaze, her final words resonating with a powerful conviction. “He’s not as far gone as Trilla was. I can feel it. He has a chance… but only if you act now.”
“You’re not coming here are you? You can’t.” Merrin spoke sadly, knowing ‘you’ inferred Cere wouldn’t interfere.
“It’s too dangerous. I know too much about the Holocron and I can’t risk it falling into the wrong hands. Even Cordova agrees’’ she spoke with grim resolve.
Silence hung in the air for a moment longer than it should’ve. Merrin sighed. She was right. It would have to be her and BD alone. She didn’t want Greez involved either for his safety.
“I’m sorry Merrin’’ Cere’s hologram flickered and then faded, leaving Merrin in the dim, quiet room. She stood in silence for a moment, staring at the empty space where Cere’s figure had just been, absorbing the weight of the task before her.
She turned to Greez, seeing his familiar, steady gaze, a silent pledge of support. “I’ll keep an ear out here,” he says, his voice calm and unwavering. “You can face him Merrin. With that crazy witchy magic of yours, you’ve got a chance I’ll say!’
Merrin smirked, a small spark of hope igniting within her. She’d need to lure Cal away from the Empire’s grasp, confront him with the truth of who he was, that he belonged to the light.
“Ok, where’s a good spot for an ambush” she asked.
Greez grinned at her and BD1 trilled with support.
Honestly this has become a bit of a comfort fic for me. I read the filler SW book that was supposed to tie the two games together and it was trash. So this has kinda been a different spin on what I thought could’ve happened which would also explain how badass Cal was in Survivor. Anyway I’m rambling, thanks for reading this fic <3

Tuffy
Pairing: Arvin Russel x reader
Synopsis: you win Arvin a teddy bear, and he acts like he doesn’t like it
Masterlist
Arvin pulled up to the annual town fair in his beat up old car and parked out front. He lit a cigarette, spotted Lenora near the entrance, and made his way over to her.
“You girls ‘bout ready to go?”
“Just about.” Lenora answered. “Y/n was just finishing up at a game. Oh, there she is.”
“Arvin!” You ran up to them with a teddy bear in your arms. “Thanks for driving us home. Don’t you want to go in at least on ride?”
“Nah. I don’t trust these things in the slightest.” He smiled at you in your high waisted shorts and button up shirt.
“See? I told you he was no fun.” Lenora teased her brother and poked his side.
“Well since you didn’t want to come with us, I won this for you at the balloon game.” You proudly held out the teddy bear you’d been holding. “Since you’re too much of a tough guy to win your own.”
It was a classic carnival plush with a cheap red bow tied around its neck, but Arvin adored it right away. He accepted the teddy bear from you and looked at it, fighting the massive smile that wanted to break out on his face. He didn’t want to stray from his typical cold and uncaring exterior, so he didn’t let it show on his face how much it meant to him.
“Oh. Thank you.” He said softly. “But I’m not much for dolls. You should keep it.”
“It’s not a doll. It’s a teddy bear.” You playfully rolled your eyes. “I’ve been holding it all night, so it smells like my perfume. And I won it for you so you better keep it, tough guy. It’s yours.”
“All right.” He smiled shyly, grateful that you were letting him keep it. “Not sure what I’ll do with it, but I’ll keep it. Thanks, Y/n.”
“You’re welcome, Arvin” You said as you linked your arm through his. “Come on. Let’s go home.”
A few weeks later, you didn’t join Lenora in the back of Arvin’s car like you usually did. He almost always drove the two of you home after school, but you were nowhere to be found that particular day.
“Y/n didn’t need a ride today?” Arvin asked with slight disappointment.
“She was running late so she said she was gonna walk home.” Lenora told him.
“Oh.” He nodded. “Okay.
“Why? Do you miss her?” Lenora teased.
“Shut up.” He blushed. “Just want to make sure she has a safe way home.”
“I’m sure she’ll be fine.” Lenora said, so he let it go. He checked back in a few hours later with Lenora to see if you’d made it home safe.
“Do you know if Y/n made it home yet?” He asked.
“She hasn’t called me yet, so probably not.” Lenora realized. Arvin frowned and looked out the window, not liking the thought of you walking home with how hard the rain was coming down.
“It’s pouring out. She’ll catch her death.” He said as he grabbed his car keys.
“So will you if you try to find her. You know how slippery your tires get.” Lenora reminded him as she followed him to the door.
“I don’t want her walking alone in the rain.” Arvin said as he slid his jacket on. “Imma go get her.”
Arvin got in his car and drove in the direction of your school. A few miles up the road, he saw you walking with your backpack over your head.
“Y/n!” He called out the window. “Get your ass in the car now.”
“Arvin?” You squinted in his direction. “Is that you?”
“Yes, it’s me.” He pulled up beside you. “Get in.”
“How’d you find me?” You asked as you got into his backseat. “And how’d you know I was out here in the first place?”
“Lenora told me you was foolish enough to walk home in this weather.” He said as he looked at you in the rear view mirror.
“I didn’t realize it was gonna rain. Sorry, Arvin.” You apologized to him, making him feel guilty for how he spoke to you. He didn’t mean to make you feel bad, he just worried about you.
“You don’t have to apologize to me, darling.” He said in a softer tone. “And you don’t have to sit in the back either.”
“Um, I think someone’s already sitting in the passenger seat.” You smiled a little and adverted your eyes.
“Who?” He furrowed his eyebrows before looking beside him. Sitting there in his passenger seat was the teddy bear you had won him a few weeks before. To make the sight even more embarrassing, the teddy bear was buckled in with a seatbelt. He had forgotten that he put the bear there and now there was no hiding the fact that he drove around with it.
“Oh.” He blushed and grabbed the bear. “Him.”
“Is that the bear won for you?” You asked coyly. “From the carnival?”
“Yeah. It is.” He adverted his eyes as you climbed into the front seat.
“Why did he have a seatbelt on?” You chuckled as he set the teddy bear on his lap.
“It’s very dangerous to drive without a seatbelt.” He said seriously. “You know that, darling.”
“But he’s just a teddy bear.” You bit back a smile at the way he was behaving. You’d into ever seen him frowning or fighting, so it made you happy to hear him being silly with you.
“A teddy bear you won for me.” He reminded you as he smiled down at the bear. “That makes him special. I gotta protect him.”
“Arvin.” You swooned. “You really kept it? That’s so cute.”
“People don’t usually give me things.” He said quietly. “So he means a lot.”
“Did you name him?” You asked hopefully.
“Yes.” He said softly. “He’s called Tuffy.”
“Why?” You wondered curiously.
“Cause you always call me tough guy.” He admitted without looking at you. He hadn’t planned on showing you the softer side of him, but you seemed to be enjoying it.
“Can I see him?”
“Careful not to get him wet. Can’t replace him.” Arvin warned, proving further to you how much he cared about the bear.
“I didn’t think you cared that I won him for you.” You said in disbelief. “Didn’t think you cared ‘bout anything, in fact.”
“I act tough, but I got a soft spot for you.” He said as he looked at you.
“Me and Tuffy, I presume.” You teased.
“Yeah.” He smiled. “You and Tuffy.”
You looked down at Tuffy and held him to your nose, inhaling his scent for a moment.
“He smells like you.” You giggled. “Which means he smells like cigarettes and Old Spice.”
“Well he sleeps in my bed.” Arvin told you. “That’s why.”
“Arvin Russel.” You gasped. “You do not sleep with a teddy bear.”
“Said he sleeps in my bed. Not in my arms or nothing.” He chuckled as he took the bear back from you. He put Tuffy on his shoulder and rested his head on him as he looked at you.
“That’s a shame.” You nearly exploded from how sweet Arvin was being. “If I was sleeping in your bed, I’d want to be in your arms as well.”
Arvin opened his mouth to speak, but found himself too flustered to form a sentence. Before he could respond, you spotted something out the window and sighed.
“Oh no. It’s Chuck Greenwood.” You pointed out the window. “He’s got a crush on me. Never leaves me alone.”
“Do you like him too?” Arvin frowned a little as Chuck approached his car.
“Absolutely not.” You stuck your tongue out. “He’s nothing but a pest. Ugh. Here he comes.”
“Hello Y/n. You look awfully pretty, even in the rain.” Chuck smirked obnoxiously as he knocked on your window. “What’s the matter? Lenoras Bible didn’t tell you it was gonna rain?”
“Leave me alone, Chuck.” You rolled your eyes and turned away.
“And is that the Russel boy?” Chuck pointed to Arvin. “What are you doing driving around with a teddy bear? Did your mommy give it to you?”
“No. But your mommy did.” Arvin shot back.
“Can I see it? It looks so cuddly and soft. I just wanna hold it for a minute.” Chuck laughed as he reached for the teddy bear.
“Hands off.” Arvin smacked his hands away. “Don’t you inbreds have something better to do?”
“What could be better than picking on you and your fuzzy wuzzy teddy bear?” Chuck asked.
“It’s my teddy bear.” You lied as you took the bear off Arvin’s shoulder. “Arvin won him for me at the carnival last week.”
“Did he? Don’t tell me you two are going steady.” Chucks jealously got the better of him.
“Whats it’s to you?” Arvin smirked, liking your plan. “Not like you ever had a chance with her.”
“Whatever. Enjoy your teddy bear.” Chuck scoffed and walked away.
“We will! Bye!” You called after him before rolling the window up. “Did you see his face? We totally got him.”
“That’s what he gets for making fun of Tuffy.” Arvin smiled as you handed the bear back to him.
“Yup.” You agreed. “He’ll know not to do that again.”
You looked at each other for a minute, soft smiles on your faces as a comfortable silence settled in his car. The comforting sound of rain hitting his windows added to the soft ambiance in the car. You gulped and sat up a little, giving him all your attention as he nervously played with the bear.
“Darling.” Arvin began quietly. “What did you mean before when you said you’d want to sleep in my arms?”
“Well, you know.” You shrugged and played with your nails. “I’m just saying. If Tuffy ever needs a night off, maybe I could take his spot.”
“Well.” He smiled softly and cupped your face with his hand. “I’ll have to check with him first.”
You leaned forward and smirked against his lips before mumbling, “You’ll have to let me know what he says.”
“He should be fine with it.” He sucked in sharply against your mouth.
“Arvin?” You asked as you gazed at him through your lashes.
“Yes, darling?”
“Stop talking about your teddy bear.” You chuckled before connecting your lips to his.

I Said No (Wanda x R): Pt 8
Summary: Did someone order a fluff stuffed pizza with extra cheese?
Warnings: Language, also a bit of violence
The following day starts as most have the past week, only this time you are not dreading waking up early in the morning for a hike aka jogging at an incline with Nat. In fact, you wake up kind of pumped for it and decide to forego the usual coffee. Nat looks at you like you are crazy. You shrug. “Not all of us need caffeine to live, Natasha.”
But you do, you find out mid-hike.
“Fuck me!” you groan, dragging behind Nat.
“No, thanks. You’ve got Wanda for that,” Nat quips. When you don’t reply, she continues, “What? No comment?”
“I’m saving my energy. I don’t know how much longer I can do this. If I die here from exhaustion, hit me with a rock or something. Make it look like a cooler death,” you say. She laughs. “What happened to not needing coffee?”
“Caffeineless-Me is a delusional me. Don’t ever listen to her,” you huff.
Luckily, you smell coffee when you get back to the house. You hear voices in the kitchen and make a dramatic entrance. Clint, Pietro, and Sam’s conversation halts at your interruption. Finding Clint responsible for the coffee, you butter him up in exchange for the coffee cup he hands you. “You know, I told Laura, you were it. I said ‘Laura, you’ll never find another like this one. A king among simple men.’ True story.” Used to your antics, Clint ignores you but Pietro and Sam laugh.
You spend the afternoon at the arcade with Wanda, Pietro, and Peter. You in fact do beat Pietro at skeeball, rubbing your win in his face. He beats you at everything else. It’s hard to be a sore loser though when you are too busy having fun and entertaining Wanda.
Wanda pulls you all into a photo booth. The group does their best to fit in what is meant to be a two person booth. Wanda ends up on your lap, you sitting next to Pietro, and Peter sticking his head into the frame. You shoo the boys out after the group photos, wanting a strip of you and Wanda. Despite the free space, Wanda stays seated on your lap, not that you mind it. The first two photos are silly. You kiss her cheek for the third and simply smile for the last one in which Wanda sports a blush looking at you.
You ask Wanda if she is ready to go to the bookstore yet, not forgetting what you promised. She refrains from saying yes when a game calls her attention. She says you can leave after one more game. Wanda challenges you to Guitar Hero and the results are embarrassing. You stare at her score in shock. You refuse to believe it. “What? There is no way! How?” She giggles when you turn your face to her with your hands on your cheeks. “No wonder you’re so good with your hands.”
She blushes at your comment. “Do you play guitar?” You ask, but before she can confirm or deny, you stop her, “Wait, no. I don’t want to know. ‘Cause if you do, that’s too attractive and we can’t have that.”
“Why not?” She tilts her head to the side.
“Because it will ruin our dynamic, You see, we both bring certain things to the table. You bring in the kind hearted, easy on the eyes superhero thing to the table. Me, I bring in the funny, cute, one year away from graduating college kid thing. My two years playing the trumpet as a child could never match even the thought of you holding a guitar,” you explain.
Wanda looks at you curiously. She smiles cheekily, before saying, “I’ll have to play for you someday then.” She laughs when you groan saying she ruined it all and tugs you by the hand to where the prizes are. You both trade your tickets in for small inflatable sledge hammers that you immediately use against each other standing off to the side of the prizes booth. You feel the employee who helped you out stare at you both and feel like you are getting in trouble, so you stop hitting Wanda.
“Sorry, I don’t mean to stare,” the employee says. “The two of you just make a really cute couple.”
“Oh,” you say surprised, but you don’t correct him, unbeknownst to you, making Wanda suppress a smile. “Thanks.”
“Come on, you promised me a bookstore,” Wanda says, taking your hand and pulling you toward the exit. You spend an hour in the cute bookstore, which Wanda could have easily made two but she took pity on you, seeing you get a little restless walking around the store in circles. She leaves the store with two new books in hand that you had insisted on buying and a smile on her face as you hold the door open for her.
“I would say ‘I got you next time’ but I wouldn’t want to force you to actually read words on paper,” she jokes.
You roll your eyes at her playful remark. “No, we wouldn’t want that.”
“So, how about we get some ice cream instead?” she offers, hoping to spend a little more time with you out in the town. Your ears perk up at those words. “Now we’re talking, Maximoff!”
“That reminds me. You still haven’t told me your last name.”
“And I’m not talking.” You mime zipping your lips and throwing away the key. Wanda jokes, “Well that’s a first. That was the only key, right?”
Wanda laughs when you roll your eyes and eagerly take the bag with her books out of her hand to carry it instead, replacing it with your own as you practically drag her to the ice cream shop. She tries not to react when halfway to the shop you interlace your fingers and smile at her, but her heart doesn’t get the message.
Tanya smiles when she sees you both back again at the shop. She raises an eyebrow, looking at your hands in question. You catch her look and shake your head in denial at Tanya while Wanda is busy looking at the flavors of ice cream. Tanya purses her lips disapprovingly and you nearly groan. Wanda turns to you and asks if you know what you want, unaware of the silent conversation that occurred before her.
You tell her to order hers first. Although you see her eyeing the strawberry flavor for a good amount of time, she orders the cotton candy flavor. You look at her surprised. “What? Maybe I want to try something different.”
“Well, in that case, Tanya, I will have two scoops of the strawberry on a cone, please and thank you,” you order. Wanda gives you the same look you’d given her, so you decide to throw her words back at her. “What? Maybe I want to try something different.”
Wanda pays for your ice creams, which of course Tanya would not let slide without commentary. “She’s making you pay for the ice cream? It’s no wonder Y/N stays single. You would think she’d know how to treat a lady.” Tanya shakes her head at you, making you scoff. Wanda laughs but defends you. “She does. This is a small thank you for how well she’s actually done that.”
“Yeah, Tanya! You hear that? I treat people well,” you reiterate as you take your prepared cone from Tanya. “I even did as you said and took her to the fair.” As if it is so unbelievable, Tanya looks at Wanda for confirmation and looks nearly impressed when Wanda nods. You add to pick on Wanda, “All for her to dance with someone else for most of the night.”
This time she scoffs and you try to suppress your smile at how easy you could rile her up. “It was one song,” she defends herself. When she sees that you’re just pulling her leg, she huffs, “You’re annoying,” and goes to sit at the small table by the entrance. Tanya speaks up when you just stand there looking after Wanda with a smile. “Don’t leave her to eat alone now.”
Tanya’s voice startles you out of your trance and you make your way to sit across from Wanda. “It was two songs,” you say, continuing the banter. Wanda retorts before trying her ice cream, “Two. One. What’s the difference?”
“He got one more song with you than I did,” you shrug. You see her make a face of disappointment at the flavor she chose. She replies, “It could have been none with him if someone just asked earlier.”
“Noted. I will let someone know and pass on the message for you,” you tease, earning you a light kick under the table from Wanda while you start with your ice cream. You can only watch her struggle to eat her ice cream and look at yours longingly for so long, before you eventually just snatch hers from her hand.
“Hey! I was eating that,” she complains.
“Oh, is that what you were doing? That was a very sad attempt at best. Here, try again,” you say and hand her the rest of your strawberry ice cream. She tries to hand yours back. “I’m not going to take your cone. It’s not the one I ordered.”
You shove the rest of the ice cream you stole into your mouth and eat it as quickly as you can. Wanda stares at you in shock. You try not to make a face at the brain freeze you get. “Well, I just finished yours so now you have no choice.”
Wanda giggles. “You have a brain freeze, don’t you?”
Nothing gets past this woman. You try to deny it anyway. “Nope. Brain warm, actually.”
You don’t fail to make her laugh. She thanks you and you smile as she finishes the strawberry ice cream. You decide to head back to the arcade before the guys get worried. You are surprised they have yet to call or text to ask where you and Wanda were. Wanda says she wouldn’t be surprised if they did not even notice your absence.
Someone spots you making your way out of the ice cream shop with Wanda and decides to approach you. “Well, well, well. Look who it is,” a loud voice taunts you, making you and Wanda turn your heads to see a guy your age and not so much taller than Wanda approach you. You know him as Abby’s (grocery store lady’s daughter) ex-boyfriend.
You don’t try to delude yourself into thinking this exchange could be an exchange of simple pleasantries especially given your history and the condescending sneer he throws your way. You huff, mumbling under your breath, “Never move to a small town, Wanda.”
She gives you a questioning look but you ignore it as the ex-boyfriend stands before you both. You give him an obviously fake smile, acknowledging his presence. “Jack,” you say tiredly, not wanting to give anyone the impression you want to actually interact with him. He, on the other hand, has a bone to pick with you and does not plan to let you off easily.
“Y/N, I see some things never change.” He laughs bitterly, giving Wanda the once over. Not appreciating this, you try to avert his attention back to you and speak in a more fed up tone. “What do you want?”
“What? I can’t say hi to your little girlfriend? You were always so eager to say hello to mine. What kind of person would I be if I didn’t show the same courtesy,” he says, scorn clear in his voice. You really do not have it in you to put up with him and the mess you made that you never dealt with, but you’ve had enough of this biting you in the ass at every corner in this town.
“Look, what I did wasn’t cool. I know, okay? I’m genuinely sorry for not taking your feelings into consideration or talking to you about it before and ignoring the whole thing after it happened. Alright? Can we just move on from this?” you ask, sincerely. Jack looks at you in shock as you await his answer, wanting nothing but to finally move past this mess. Wanda on her end is impressed by your ability to recognize a mistake and apologize. You can feel her looking at you and Jack notices it too, the act riling him up more than anything.
When Jack saw you, he finally found his chance to let everything he was holding back out and seeing you with someone else only assured him he was right about you being this asshole who just goes around stealing people’s girlfriends. He was not expecting an apology. Although it seems to be sincere, it still does not satisfy him and seeing the girl you’re with looking at you the way she is because of it just ticks him off.
So he doesn’t accept your apology. Instead, he turns to Wanda. “It’s a little late for apologies, L/N. Hey, sweetheart. Some advice, best go apologize to your boyfriend before it’s too late, ‘cause whatever you think this is,” he says waving between you and Wanda, “it’s not gonna last.”
Trying to form some semblance of a safety blanket against his fiery gaze, you pull Wanda to stand behind you. Now you’re feeling very irritated. You’re not going to hit him or anything of that nature. God knows you would only hurt yourself. You’ve always strayed away from getting into fights. Besides, why bruise your fists when you could bruise his ego?
“Hey, assface. What do you know about lasting? Last I heard you weren’t doing too well with that. Some advice for you,” you taunt him, using the same tone he did with Wanda, “when you are finally doing something right, which you’ll know since Abby’s not really a quiet one, give her neck a little squeeze and-” You snap smugly. “She can thank me later.”
The whole time you were talking, you could practically see steam coming out of his ears. It’s logical to stay clear when you see the signs of a volcano about to erupt, but when you are standing two feet away from the danger zone, it’s a little hard to avoid getting hurt. You see it coming but you are not quick enough to dodge it. Suddenly, your ass is on the sidewalk, vision impaired as your hand covers the left side of your face that is throbbing in pain. Wanda would say her vision is also impaired as all she sees is red. Not caring if anyone sees, she uses her magic to hold him by the throat, red wisps tightening around his neck. She sees the panic in his eyes but doesn’t ease up.
“Don’t you ever lay a hand on her again. In fact, from now on you don’t talk to her unless she’s speaking to you. Don’t look at her unless she calls your name,” Wanda threatens him, her voice deadly calm, you would almost define it as soothing. Jack wouldn’t. “You know who I am, don’t you?” Jack nods to the best of his abilities, starting to feel light headed. “If you even think about touching her again, I’ll know.”
She releases her magical hold. He coughs, bringing back oxygen into his lungs. Jack sees the red fade from the witch’s eyes but her stare still holds a fire. Not wanting to enrage the witch any further, he sprints away as soon as she says, “Leave.”
As soon as he is out of sight, Wanda turns to check on you. She finds you already on your feet but your hand is still over your face. She pries your hand away and sees the damage, a bruise already forming over your cheek. You flinch when she prods it gently. Wanda gives you a questioning look when you unexpectedly giggle.
“Sorry, it’s just. Nat always said my big mouth would get me into trouble like this one day. I was really hoping she would be wrong about this one,” you explain, looking away from her but still giggling. Wanda doesn’t find it funny. She gently takes your chin to face her. “It’s not your fault. He had no right to lay a finger on you.”
Wanda’s intense stare doesn’t waver. It’s almost demanding you to understand that what happened can’t be brushed off as a joke and it works. Your mind replays the events and you feel a lump in your throat. Wanda brushes a tear away from your cheek. You hadn’t been aware of the tears forming in your eyes. The sound of a car passing by snaps you out of your emotional state. You haven’t had a good cry in a long while, but like hell will you allow yourself to break down on the sidewalk in front of the ice cream shop where you used to work.
You chase away the tears and clear your throat. Today was a great day for the most part; you weren’t going to let this bump in your trail keep you from continuing on to have a great day and ending it on a good note. Your eyes are a vault of tears, and though you know one day that door is going to open and possibly drown you, today would not be that day.
You pull away from Wanda’s touch but before she can say anything about it you hold that hand in yours. “Thank you. I’m lucky you were here.” You avoid cringing at how your voice breaks halfway through, evidence of the lump in your throat you cleared away. You manage a small smile instead.
“I’m sorry you had to see me like that. I hope I didn’t frighten you,” Wanda says, suddenly embarrassed at her quick tempered reaction. This brings out a genuine giggle out of you. “Are you kidding me? Frighten me? The only scary thing about your reaction was how attractive I found it!”
You can tell Wanda doesn’t believe you, searching your face for any sign that you may be lying and saying this just to humor her. “No, seriously. His pants were wet out of fear. My pants were wet in an entirely different way,” you press. She laughs with glowing red cheeks. As the color fades, you and she decide to head back to the arcade after you refused her offer of getting you something cold at the store to rest against your cheek.
Pietro and Peter didn’t notice you had left the arcade, but they do notice your bruised cheek quickly. After dismissing their concerns, you ask if they were ready to head back. They say they still have to trade their tickets in, so you let them go do that. It isn’t too long until you are back to the car.
It turns out you are the only one in the car with a license, but you’re not feeling up to driving back to the house. Peter looks nervous at the prospect of driving, barely having taken two lessons at school, so he isn’t going to drive. Wanda wants to sit by you, so she lets Peter sit up front. That leaves Pietro to drive.
Big mistake.
You make it home in one piece with your bruised cheek, a massive headache, and a date with the church on Sunday after promising God you would go if you make it back home alive. Pietro brakes hard when pulling up right behind Nat’s car. Luckily, he didn't hit her car. You didn’t need to survive Pietro’s wild car ride, just so Nat could kill you after.
The twins are arguing. “God, Wanda. No one likes a backseat driver,” Pietro says as he puts the car in park and takes the key out of the ignition. Wanda yells, “No, but I’m sure we would all like to live to see past our 20’s and Peter past high school!”
At the mention of his name, Peter finally opens his eyes and loosens his tight grip on his seatbelt. “Oh, we’re here? I, um, have to go to the bathroom.” He excuses himself before basically ripping the door open and running into the house on shaky legs. Pietro also storms out of the car but more so in irritation from his sister.
“Are you okay?” Wanda asks you, taking off her seatbelt. You unbuckle yours and laugh to ease her concerns. “Yeah, just give me a moment. I don’t think my life is done flashing before my eyes yet.”
Wanda giggles as you act out seeing your life replaying in your mind. “Okay, almost done. Exercise with Nat, board games, seeing you naked.” You laugh when she punches your arm. “Arcade, your brother almost killing us all, and finished. Wow, I lived a pretty good life.”
She shakes her head at your silliness, before practically pulling you out of the car. Most of everyone is in the living room when you come inside. You guess your bruise must be very noticeable, your cousin gasping upon seeing your face. She rushes to your side with the help of Clint and sees the damage.
“Y/N, what happened?” she asks, a motherly type of concern slipping into her tone.
“It’s not as bad as it looks, I promise.” You thank Nat when she sits you down and helps place an ice pack on your injury.
“It looks pretty bad, kid,” Clint says, not helping ease the concern on his wife’s or his best friend’s face.
“You should have seen the other guy,” you say, acting like you actually did anything other than stare mouth agape as Wanda took care of Jack. The disbelief on everyone’s face when you said that, including Sam’s, was insulting. You scoff, “Okay, ouch. I could have taken care of business if Wanda wasn’t there, thank you very much.”
“So, Wanda was there?” Nat pries and you tell them everything. Laura thanks Wanda for doing what she did and Wanda, being of humble heart, claims it goes unsaid that she would do that for any of them and there was no need to thank her. Nat doesn’t say ‘I told you so’ but she tells you it’s time to learn self-defense as she wants you to quote unquote “be prepared next time god forbid something like this happens again”, which to you was another way of saying ‘I told you so’,
Nat says she will personally see to giving you your first lesson tomorrow. Clint laughs at the thought and suddenly everyone is amped to watch Nat teach you some moves in the morning, inviting themselves to be your audience as if embarrassing yourself in front of Natasha was not going to be enough. Everyone leaves you alone to get ready to sleep after that.
After changing into your pjs, you pull out your phone and scroll through your camera roll sitting on the couch. You have at least fifty or so new photos of just today. You smile as you watch the video you recorded of Wanda and Pietro playing Dance Dance Revolution. Watching them interact today, you are reminded of you and Laura and Nat and if their bond is anything like yours, you are happy that Wanda has someone like that in her life.
Wanda comes downstairs to check up on you before turning in for the night. She hears you before she sees you, your giggles cutting through the air. She follows the sound, curious as to what has you in such spirits. When she is close enough, Wanda sees you are laughing at something playing on your phone.
“What are you watching?” Wanda asks from behind you.
“Just some of the stuff I recorded today. Come look.” You invite her over.
Leaning over your shoulder, she finds out it is a video of her and her brother playing the dancing game at the arcade. She fails to see what you find so funny but as the video plays on, you kept zooming in and out of Wanda’s face as she pouts every time she missteps but the look of determination never wavering.
You think it’s a cute video but you aren’t surprised when Wanda lunges for your phone in an attempt to take it and delete the video. You lean forward away from Wanda on time so that she cannot reach it. She groans, “Delete it.”
“Mmm, no.” You shake your head and laugh when Wanda wastes her energy to maneuver around the couch to take the phone away only for you to hide it behind your back away from Wanda’s hands. She looks down at you unimpressed. “Y/N, do you really think that’s going to work? I can take it with a wave of my hand.”
“Tsk tsk tsk. Always relying on your magic. Afraid you can’t get it without twirling your fingers?” you shoot back with a smirk. Your cockiness is short lived as you see Wanda sport the same look of determination she wore in the video you took. She surprises you by settling onto your lap, basically straddling you. She holds you by the shoulders. You nearly whimper when she leans into your ear and whispers, “I’ll show you twirling my fingers.”
She leans away from your ear and looks you right in the eye as one hand begins to wander down your chest. You hold your breath when she gets to your belly button. You should have known better, misreading the smirk on her face. It all takes a turn when she brings her other hand down and begins to tickle you.
You try fighting her off with one hand, keeping the other with your phone behind your back, but she’s relentless. You flail around and you end up lying on the couch, Wanda still on top of you. You can’t help the tear that slips and you take that as your cue to beg her to stop. “Mercy! Mercy! Stop!”
Wanda eases up on the tickling, giving you time to catch your breath, but she makes no move to get off of you nor to actually take your phone away. She rests her hands on your stomach and watches you, amused when you wipe away your tear.
“That wasn’t nice,” you breathe out. She chuckles. You stare at her as if it is your turn to gaze at her in wonder. She takes you by surprise again when she asks, “Can I kiss you?”
She’s kissed you before. Hell, you’ve done a lot more than that, so you’re wondering why she’s even asking at this point. At the confusion on your face, she explains, “I mean, can I kiss you just to kiss you?”
Finally understanding what she is asking, you sit up and give her your permission. “You can kiss me whenever you want. It doesn’t have to lead to anything.” She hesitates to move so as a show of faith you peck her lips, startling her. “See?”
Wanda smiles and leans forward to kiss you. It’s a slow but still rather chaste kiss. It takes your breath away and when she pulls back she giggles as your lips unconsciously chase after hers. She gives you what your lips were seeking for, pulling you further into her by your neck and tangling her hands in your hair. You are kissing slowly but then you’re not when you slip your hands under her shirt to grip her waist. You pull away and kiss down her neck.
Wanda starts to feel hot. She doesn’t know when she started to grind onto you, but her hips are actively working to find some friction to relieve the feeling that’s bubbled up. You’re both wearing too many clothes, she thinks. She pushes you away and goes to take off her shirt, but when she had pushed you, you’d come to your senses. You stop her and pull her shirt back down.
“As much as I’d like to, Clint and Nat seeing me in boxers haunts me to this day. I don’t want to imagine what they’d do if someone saw us less than decent on the couch,” you explain.
“Oh,” she says, almost a little dejectedly, but Wanda understands. She honestly forgot they were in the living room, open for anyone to accidentally walk in on them. You crack a joke at her sounding so bummed. “Sorry if I gave the idea that I’d be comfortable putting it all out there for show. I don’t know what kind of things you and your ex-robo-boyfriend liked to do, but not everyone can be as free spirited.”
Knowing what comes next after a joke like that, you are quick to grab her wrists before she punches your arm. “Or as violent,” you add, laughing when she pouts at not getting her way. You wrap your arms around her before falling back to lie on the couch. Wanda stretches out her legs to get more comfortable, which is hard to do given your arms are still wrapped around her holding her arms down as well.
“You’re the worst,” she mumbles into your neck. You laugh. “Hey, don’t start comparing me to your exes. It’s hard to compete with a lab-produced man. He’s probably over six feet tall and can do long division in a blink. Probably does the cheesy things you like, like serenading you and lipsyncs as the song actually plays from his mouth.”
Your arms loosen up as you speak, allowing Wanda to shift more so beside you. Wanda giggles at your rambling and throws an arm around your stomach. “He’s not an Alexa, Y/N.”
“Are you sure? Or you just never tried saying ‘Vision, play Summer by Calvin Harris’?” She bites your shoulder instead of swatting at you. “Ow. What kind of name is Vision anyway? I mean that can only mean he’s packing some serious stuff cause moaning out ‘Vision’ is just not it, you know? I mean, it’s better than ‘Brad’ but honestly most anything is better than Brad.”
“Ugh!” Wanda lets out in frustration and a hint of embarrassment. Her face turns pink but she tries to hide it behind her hand. She says something else you don’t catch as it’s muffled by her palm. You grab her hand and move her arm back to its original position around you. “What was that?”
“I said ‘I don’t’,” Wanda repeats.
“You don’t, what?” you ask. Wanda waits a second for you to catch up. “Wait, you and he never?” you ask. When she shakes her head, you are too bewildered by that possibility that you have to confirm. “Never ever?”
She rolls her eyes at you. “Sorry, it’s just that,” you pause. A thought that nearly shuts down your brain takes over and you have to ask, but you weren’t sure how, not knowing if she would want it brought up in case the answer was yes. “Wait! Were you? I didn’t, um.. Did I…”
“Did you, what?” Wanda cautiously asks, noting how hesitant you are to ask whatever it is you were trying to figure out. You clear your throat. “Was I your first?”
You don’t know what you hoped the answer to be. Yes? Being someone’s first can be a big deal and if you were hers, Wanda’s first time, you’d have to move to a mansion for the size of your ego. But another thought arises. Did you live up to her expectations? Her body language seemed to say yes, but maybe she’s just really good at lying. Did you actually disappoint? Wanda disrupts your thoughts by laughing… loudly.
“Well, damn. A simple ‘no’ would’ve been sufficient,” you pout. Internally, you are a little relieved to not have been the first. When she leaves here, you’ll probably be brought up at an odd time or another in conversation. Three of the small group of Avengers will probably remember you as Wanda’s fling, but you wouldn’t be able to stand being seen as that goof that deflowered the second youngest member of the team.
“Do not take this the wrong way, Y/N, but I’m glad you were not my first,” she says. Obviously, your response is “Ouch. I don’t know how there is any other way to take that.” She continues, “Because I got to enjoy myself with you. The first time for me was not fun. I didn’t even really like him, but I was tired of everyone comparing me to Pietro, who is as you say more of a ‘free spirit’, and I guess I wanted to prove I could be too.”
With one hand you run your fingers through her hair and with the other you rub her arm in comfort. “Well then in that case, I’m glad I wasn’t your first as well. Also, I enjoyed it too.” She giggles, making you smile in return. “Just sayin’.”
“What about you?” she asks.
“My first time?” She nods. You hesitate to get into it and she gives you an out. “You don’t have to.”
“No, it’s only fair. My first was actually Skye,” you say. Wanda looks surprised. “I know. A lot of firsts with that one.”
“How did you meet?” Wanda keeps the conversation flowing after a heavy pause.
You chuckle remembering how it happened. “It all started with what Laura coined the great animal rescue,” you start. You tell her the beginning, the middle, and the end of your first and really only relationship.
“Was she the girl in the picture you showed Peter?” Wanda knows the answer. Why does she do this to herself? Maybe to try to get it through her head that there is someone out there that knows you the way she does and maybe better. Of course, a straight yes or no is too much to ask from you. “Daisy Ridley? I wish! Could you imagine? Rey Skywalker?”
“Maybe Sam has a right to tease you. You are a nerd.” You scoff, “Excuse me. Anyone would be lucky to date ‘only the prettiest woman alive!’” you repeat Peter’s voice, trying to make his voice. Wanda laughs at your impersonation of the young hero.
You remove Wanda’s arm and get off the couch. She frowns. “Where are you going?”
“Getting us a blanket and pillows. It’s way late and although I can talk with you until the sun rises, I need to get some sleep before Nat kicks my ass tomorrow. I’ll be right back,” you say with a smile before turning to grab said items.
You come back, hand Wanda a big pillow you decide you would both use, and stretch the blanket out over her before getting under it and back to the way you were before.
“Are you comfortable? Do you want the other pillow?” you ask her, which she really appreciates. Once she tells you she’s all good, you kiss her head and wish her sweet dreams.
“Goodnight, Y/N,” Wanda replies.
She can’t understand how Skye held so much of you and let you go. Holding you and talking through the night with you, she knows it’s going to hurt when she will have to do the same in a few days. She holds you tighter and closes her eyes, hoping to dream of you tonight.
“Does Vision come with WiFi?”
“Y/N, go to sleep,” Wanda mutters, though she tries not to laugh.
“Sorry, just wondering. Goodnight, Wanda.”
Did Vision have wifi? He doesn’t work like a router, does he? Could she have had a personal hotspot the entire time she was dating him? Wanda needs answers.
“I bet you’re thinking about it now too, huh?”
“Y/N.”
“Sorry, sleeping now.”

The match had came to an end after what felt like forever, griffindor had won, and that meant youd have to deal with an extra cocky harry.
You weren't such a quidditch enthusiastic, but you loved harry and wanted to show it to him,so you always came to watch and cheer extra loudly for him.
As usual, there was a party planned on the common room to celebrate the victory and hard work of the team by being showered with firewhiskey and a lot of music.
Now what you had planned for tonight's party was the real news. There was something about seeing harry all confident and extroverted that just did it for you, letting you all hot and bothered, so you decieded to take matters into your own hands.
After greeting the boy by the door of the locker rooms and make sure he would be at the party you came back to your dorm to put your plan to work, you took a fancy shower with all the self care products you owned, then you dressed up in a sexy pair of see through dark blue lingerie, putting on top a a tight black dress to ensinuate your curves.after fixing your hair and putting on some makeup you were ready to go down to the common room.
You went in naturally through the door, being used to said so celebration, you saw harry sitting in the couch bickering his drink, almost spilling it when looked up and saw you in a dress much shorter than you used to wear
"hi,uhm,wow,you look..."
"brilliant?"
"y-yes"
You chuckled lightly at how easily you could flutter the boy;you choose to ignore how he was devouring you with his eyes, and invited him to the improvised dance floor, being familiar with the playlist of Muggle sounds playing in the background.
The little firewhiskey you took making you confident enough to start purposely grinding down on harry times enough to make his mind wander to some dirty thoughts.
"I'm warning you y/n,you should stop while I'm being nice"the look in his face was hard
"stop what?"you knew that playing dumb would get you exactly what you wanted, encouraging you to bat your eyelashes at him innocently.
He chuckled darkly, expression getting even harder.
"you know exactly what you are doing don't you?"he smirked and pressed his tongue against the inside of his cheeck.
You kept ignoring his warnings and getting even more confident while swinging your hips to the beat, while harry shamelessly stared at your body, giving you an awesome terrible idea.
In one swift move you locked your lips on his, slightly biting his bottom lip, them pulling away only to whisper seductively into his ear
"you seen to like my hair huh?wait to see what I'm wearing under it"and then pressed your body against his.
That was it,in a split second,he was dragging you to his dorm by your arm, being followed by weird looks and wolf whistles, everybody knew what you were about to do,so it was no surprise to find the bedroom empty
Once inside it,he slammed the door shut pinning you on it and passionately kissing you, roaming his hands all over your body, lips now trailing down your jawline to your neck, getting on that spot that made you melt.
"bet you liked acting like a whore, let's see if you like what comes now"
He threw you on his bed,and proceeded to assault your neck, claiming you with red marks all over, knocking the breath out of your lungs.
"your dress,"he gave your clothes body another hungry look"take it off, now"
You did as you were told without hesitation, presenting him his favourite post game prize, pulling out a huge smirk from him
"all of this for me huh?"if he looked hungry, now he was a starved man looking at his favourite meal.
His gaze shot from your body directly into your eyes.
"well I think you were being a bad girl, don't you think you deserve a punishment?"
You felt yourself get wetter over your panties where a damp spot were already sitten, you simply looked at him with this doe eyes and he already knew what you wanted.
His feather like touches teasing you through the fabric of your underwear, slowly taking them off, teasing you by rubbing agonizingly slow circles on your clit, making you gasp loudly;harry slowly but surely buried his fingers on your cunt, knowing very well how to find that spot that made you melt and giving it no rest, prescisely brushing his fingertips in there with every thrust of his hand.
As his ring and middle finger pumped your pussy, his thumb played with your clit, bringing you closer and closer to a release.
Harry could feel the familiar feeling of your pussy clenching around his fingers,he leaned his body upon yours, attacking your neck once more, never stopping the ministrations on your pussy,it was definitely gonna leave a mark, but he knew you liked to be marked by him,so that everyone knows what he's getting after a well played match
"are you going to cum?"
"yes!" You somehow breathed out
"let go them"
You came almost immediately after his words, feeling your orgasm wash over you,at first you find it Weir that he so easily gave you your release, you were expecting him to tease the hell out of you and make you beg for him to let you cum.
But when his fingers didn't stopped after you rode out your high,it was when it hit you,he was going to overstim you, turn you into a sloppy mess, the startled look you gave him letted the boy know you were aware of his intentions, but it never stopped him though,he just winked at you, before diving into your pussy like he needed it for a living, tongue flicking your little bud, fingers never ceasing
You were still sensitive due to the orgasm you just had,the vibrations his groans of pleasure sent to your core had you already on the brink of cumming again, moans getting more desperte and hard to hold.
"ha-ah!-harry, gonna cum again"
"weren't you acting like a slut?that's what sluts like you get, just what you fucking asked for"
These words were all you needed to push you over the edge, coating his fingers and moth on your release.
You were already a whimpering mess, harry had that power over you, make you putty in his hands with so little, the sight of him pulling his pants down along with his briefs made you whine loudly, both for seeing his rock hard cock finally free, and for the thought of him fucking you in such a fucked out state
Harry knew you,he knew how you could get carried away, but he was painfully hard and just needed to feel your warm walls clench and cum around his cock.
He started to pepper little kisses all over your face whispering sweet nothings in your ear while easing himself inside you,his groans and whimpers in sync with your moans.he really did try to hold himself but you were just so close to him,so warm,so his,he quickly started a relentless pace
At this point you were giving zero fucks about being quite, just straight out moaning aloud.
"that's right princess, let the whole castle know how good I make you feel,f-fuck so tight"
You were literally quivering, shaking underneath the boy, wanting to get closer and away from him at the same time,it was hurting, but felt so good you didn't had the heart to stop
"h-harry 's sensitive,too much,'s too much!"
Now call him a masochist but this boy loves seeing you like this, writhing underneath him, face contorting in both pleasure and pain, him being the cause of it.
"fuck,I know love,just one more,for me"
He reached his hand down to toy with your clit, sending you into a blissful high, eyes shutting close as you came hard with a loud cry.
The way your pussy clenched impossibly tighter around him was all he needed before filling you up with his warm cum.
Once you regained yourself and opened your eyes again, you were met with harry holding a wet cloth and a glass of water.
"you okay love?was it too much?are you still with me?"
"it's fine,I'm here love, just tired" once the adrenaline ran out it was hard to keep your eyes open,a drowzy smile on your face.
"all right, let's get you ready to rest"
Harry handed you the glass, and carefully wiped you clean while you drank,he them handed you a pair of his boxers and one of his shirts, after you were all dressed up you just snuggled against each other, curled in your own little bubble of affection until doze off to sleep.

Gif is not mine.
Summary: Pietro Maximoff is handsome and popular, but he can’t date before his twin sister. The problem is that no one can get close to his sister, Wanda Maximoff. To resolve the situation, a girl interested in Pietro bribes a colleague with a mysterious past to go out with Wanda and, who knows, try to win her over. Or The one directly inspired by 10 Things I Hate About You.
Words: 11,620K (Complete) /// Read on AO3 too || Part I
Warnings: PG, fluff, language.
She doesn't answer your messages during the weekend. So you don't press her. But then you are on the field, in physical education period, and she is practicing.
You sit on the bleachers, trying to focus on the math homework you needed to finish, when Monica joins you on the bench.
- Hey, girl. - She says hello as she sits down. And noticing your gaze shifting from the notebook to Wanda, she comments. - What happened between you two?
You sighed angrily.
- I did the right thing. - You comment with irony, but seeing Monica's frown in confusion, you add. - She wanted to kiss me after the party. I refused because she was drunk.
- But the plan was working! - said Monica.
- So what, you called the whole thing off.
Monica giggled, and raised her eyebrows slightly.
- Yeah, I know, but it was...it was before what happened. - She said, and you looked at her with confusion. - Pietro kissed me.
You blink and then laugh, shaking your head. And then Bruce comes to join you two.
- I just talked to Wanda. - He says. - Look, she said she hates you with the intensity of a thousand suns.
You let out a dry laugh, running your fingers through your hair.
- Thank you Bruce, that's very comforting to hear. - You tell him wryly, and he nods uncomfortably.
- Maybe she needs a day to calm down. - Monica says, and the three of you look toward the field, where Wanda was training veritably.
- Maybe two days. - You comment as you watch her knock a girl down.
//-//
You managed to fix most of your motorcycle. And then you found out that your mother punctured the tires, and you stormed angrily into her room.
- Have you completely lost your mind? - You shouted, and she just took off her glasses and crossed her legs while looking at you. - You slashed the tires on my motorcycle?
- I told you that you were grounded.
- That's ridiculous! - you say. - You don't have the slightest respect for my things.
- Don't talk to me that way. - She warned, and you let out a wry laugh.
- Be damn sure that when my bike is up and running, I'm out of here!
You shout before leaving the room, slamming the door.
You were coming out of geography class when Pepper Potts came to talk to you again.
She pulled you into a far corner behind the closet, and held out a hundred dollars to you.
- Take her to prom. - She said. - It's all here, limousine, clothes.
She pushed the money in your hands, but you pushed it back.
- I'm done with this game, Potts. - You retorted, feeling extremely uncomfortable.
You started to turn to leave, but Potts stepped in front of you.
- Hey, hey, wait. - She asked, and then pulled three more bills from her purse. - Three hundred dollars, okay? Come on, it's just a date.
You swallowed dryly as you accepted, trying to push to the back of your mind how wrong it was. And Potts smiled mischievously, then left.
//-//
You went back to the same record store in front of the laundry room where you found Wanda that other day. And you tried not to be so nervous.
Looking around, you found her walking around the shelves, and she was admiring a guitar. You put your hands in your pockets as you watched her put on the headphones and try the instrument, sitting down on one of the stools in the store.
You moved closer, and could see her reflection in the mirror a few feet away, but Wanda didn't see you, as her eyes were closed while her fingers danced on the guitar strings.
You smiled at the image, she looked so peaceful and comfortable. You couldn't disturb her. So you just left the store.
//-//
You saw Wanda again the next day. You didn't give up talking to her, and ended up going to the only bookstore in town that you knew sold the poetry that Wanda liked to read according to the list Monica had given you.
And while you were browsing the shelves, you found her looking distractedly at a stack of books. You walked over to her, following her across the opposite shelf, and when the shelf was over, you ended up in front of each other.
- Excuse me, miss. I'm looking for an Avengers comic book, have you seen any around? - You joked, but Wanda didn't smile, looking annoyed.
- What are you doing here?
- I hear you like poetry. - You answer and she sighs impatiently.
- You're so...
- Charming? - You interrupt with a smile, Wanda rolls her eyes as she walks away from you. - wholesome?
- Inopportune. - She says irritated. You bite your lip and walk toward her.
- You're not as mean as you think. - You tell her.
- And you're not as bad-ass as you think you are.
- Oh, someone still has her panties in a twist.
- Don’t for one minute think that you had any effect whatsoever on my panties.
You let out a smug chuckle.
- And where did I provoke?
- You provoked my vomit, nothing more. - She retorts, then grabs a comic book from the stack of books in front of her and slaps it against your chest, walking away.
You stare at the Avengers comic book in your hand for a few minutes before handing it back, completely impressed by the dialogue.
//-//
At break time, the day after your argument with Wanda, Monica and Bruce approach you in the snack line.
- She's still mad at me, people. - You tell them as you put some noodles on your tray.
- Look, you embarrassed her, you need to apologize. - Monica said and you frowned.
- I'm not going to apologize for not taking advantage of her drunken state! - You retort. - It's not my fault she's stubborn, and would rather be angry than admit she's wrong.
You finish your lunch and get out of line, Bruce and Monica follow you to the table. They don't sit with you, but watch you sit next to Carol at one of the circular tables.
- Come on, Y/N, try to think of something to please her. - Bruce says, and you roll your eyes.
- You can sing your apologies. - Mocks Carol from beside you, making you laugh. But then Bruce and Monica have serious expressions and you frown.
- Not a chance! - You warn them, but they are already letting out excited exclamations.
Carol starts laughing next to you.
- I have the perfect idea! - Monica says. - You can sing a romantic song in front of the whole school! Any girl would love it.
- I'd kill anyone who did that to me. - Carol mumbles humorously, and you laugh.
- Can I at least finish my lunch in peace? - you say, and Monica and Bruce nod in agreement. You point to the free chairs at your table, and they are very happy to sit with you.
//-//
And then you ended up outside the school again. After infiltrating the upper booth of the soccer field and getting a microphone and access to the outside speakers. You also had to pay the band guy, but you figured it was only worth it.
- You're just too good to be true. - You sang into the microphone as you walked out of the booth toward the stands. Your voice echoing across the field - Can't take my eyes of you. - You continued as you walked. All the students were looking around trying to figure out where the voice was coming from. - You'd be like heaven to touch. I wanna hold you so much. At long last love has arrived. And I thank God I'm alive - You sing and finally become visible to the people in the field. - You're just too good to be true. - You look for Wanda in the crowd in the distance, and sing the last part while looking and pointing at her. - Can't take my eyes of you.
And then the band starts playing, and you follow the beats, continuing to sing the song, as the crowd claps their hands and enjoys your performance.
You keep looking at Wanda throughout the song, and even as the security guards pull you off the field, you see that she is blushing, and smiling.
//-//
You end up in detention after hearing from Principal Harkness that she was impressed that you did romantic acts, and you laughed before leaving the office.
And then Professor Thanos was walking around the detention room, and stopped at the desk next to yours.
- You look nervous. - He said to the student who was sitting down.
- A little bit sir.
- You are sweating like a pig. - said Thanos.
- Yes sir. - agreed the frightened boy.
- Your eyes are red. - He said.
The boy nodded nervously, looking down at the table.
- You have pot, don't you? - said Thanos angrily, and the boy turned pale. - Hand it over right now.
After confiscating the boy's weed, Thanos walked back around, and then the door opened. You raised your head when you heard Wanda's voice.
- Professor Thanos, may I speak with you please? - she asked, entering the room and walking towards the man.
- What can I do for you, Miss Maximoff?
- I have some ideas for improving the team. - She says.
- Great! But we'll talk about them later. - Thanos replies with a serious expression, and as he looks across the room, Wanda looks at you, and quickly signals the window of the room. You blink in confusion, and when she whispers "window," Professor Thanos turns to her again.
- As you know, we have an important match against the Panthers coming up. - She starts to say, clearly trying to distract the man. You rush to gather your backpack and sneak out of his field of vision. - Wow, your muscles are huge! - She comments with a false sweetness in her voice, pulling the professor along and enabling you to run behind one of the pillars. The floor is very noisy and Wanda is trying to keep the man distracted by talking about match tactics, and when you finally reach the window, there is a metallic clatter and you think Thanos is going to see you, but then Wanda is pulling you by the arm again, and lifting up her own blouse.
The whole room makes a celebratory buzz and you try not to blush at the image of Wanda's exposed breasts, hurrying out, around the building on the fire escape and out the side.
//-//
It takes a while, but Wanda joins you.
- I can't believe you showed your breasts to a professor. - You remark with a laugh when she arrives.
- I can't believe you sang in front of the school. - She replies with a smile.
You shift the weight of your feet, staring at the ground for a second.
- Do you want to do something now? - you ask, and Wanda smiles as she nods.
You sneak off the school grounds, avoiding being seen by any security or teachers.
You end up in the city park, on the pedal boats in the middle of the sea.
- I can't stop thanking you for getting me out of detention. - You say with a smile as you pedal along together. - That was really nice.
- No problem.
You are silent for a moment, before you decide to ask her what she wants to know.
- What is your excuse?
- For what? - she asks confused.
- For behaving the way you do.
- I don't like to do what everyone expects. - She says. - Why should I meet other people's expectations and not my own?
- So you disappoint from the start, and then you don't have to worry?
She smiles lightly impressed.
- Yeah, something like that.
You nod, looking away.
- So you failed.
- How so?
- You've never disappointed me. - You confess, and Wanda looks at you. You smile at each other for a moment, before you look away again.
A few meters from the edge of the beach there is a paintball field.
- Hey, are you in? - you ask, pointing to the place.
- Yes. - Wanda agrees, slightly excited.
When you get off the pedal boat, you race to the paintball field, and Wanda absolutely beats you to it. You are laughing as you pay the entrance fee, watching her excitement.
After you put on your protective clothing, and get the paint ammunition, she moves first into the field, and hides, causing you to lose sight of her. You walk around looking around, and then feel something cold hit you on your back.
- Cheater! - You shout cheerfully, as you grab some paint from your ammunition pouch, and run toward Wanda, who is laughing as she tries to run away. You hit her in the leg.
And you stay in this race for several minutes, throwing paintballs at each other while laughing and trying to dodge the shots. At some point between ducking behind one of the obstacles, you corner Wanda, but she looks so cute that you don't have the heart to throw paint at her.
So you just put your hand down and smile. But seeing your hesitation, Wanda laughs and jumps at you, knocking you into the hay as she falls on top of you. You both laugh but your laughter dies down when you notice how close you are. And then she gets that look in her eyes again, and you want to kiss her, so you do.
And you kiss against the hay for many minutes, the feeling of having her against you makes you absolutely satisfied. And you continue there, until Wanda sighs against your lips, and you are warm, and it is better to stop before you are thrown out. And when you part, Wanda hits you on the head with a paint ball, and the moment changes completely. Soon you are back to playing and running.
//-//
On the way back to Wanda's house, you talked about the most varied subjects. When you are arriving, you start talking about the rumors that have been made at school about you two.
- I've heard that you sold your liver on the black market. - She remarked, making you laugh as you turned off the car.
- Those things are lies. - You retorted sheepishly as you got out and walked towards her backyard.
- The parole story?
- False - You deny it laughing. - The fight that ended in death in the parking lot?
- Rumor. - Wanda says with a laugh. - The robbery in New York?
- Just gossip. - You say. - And the kick in Tony Stark's nuts?
- True, he deserved it. - She says. - I'd do it again, he tried to grab me in the cafeteria.
You nod in agreement.
- What about your accent? - you ask curiously.
- I thought it was one at a time. - She jokes, and you shrug. You sit on her balcony. - It's real. My family is from Sokovia, we moved here when I was eight. - You grumble in agreement, waiting for Wanda's question. - Where were you last year? Since the parole story is a lie?
You laughed, looking away for a moment.
- I was in Colorado, living with my father. - You tell, and then look at her again, tucking her hair back behind her ear.
Wanda looks at you with curiosity and tenderness.
- Tell me something true.
- True? - you repeat with a thoughtful tone. - I hate peas.
She laughs lightly.
- No. Something real. - She clarifies. - Something no one else knows about.
- Okay. - You agree by coming closer. - You're sweet. - You tell her by lowering your head to her neck and kissing. - And sexy. - You kiss the skin on the other side. - And you're completely crazy about me. - You say as you bump your foreheads together, and Wanda laughs, pulling away a little.
- You have a huge ego, anyone ever tell you that? - she scoffs.
- I tell myself that every day. - You smile back, before kissing her. - Come to the prom with me.
- Is that a request or an order?
- Come on, go with me.
Wanda sighs.
- No.
- Why not?
- Because I don't want to, it's a silly tradition. - She explains.
- Now, nobody expects you to go.
- Why are you so insistent about it?
You look at her in surprise, feeling your heart race. Then of course you get defensive, because Wanda can't know. At your lack of response, she asks:
- What's in it for you? - She sounds suspicious and irritated.
- Now I need a reason to be with you?
- You tell me.
You look away, feeling extremely uncomfortable.
- You need therapy, you know. - You say back. - Has anyone ever told you that?
- Answer my question.
- Nothing. - You exclaim without patience, looking at her. - I get nothing, just the pleasure of your company.
You look out into the yard again, and Wanda lets out an angry exclamation before getting up and walking into the house, slamming the door.
You run your hands through your hair, hating that you accepted the damn money in the first place.
//-//
You thought Wanda was angry, but she calls you the next day after school. And she accepts the invitation. You are surprised, and feel guilty, but you are also happy to spend time with her.
She says she will accompany her sister, and meet you at the dance. So you stand at the entrance to the party, wearing your best clothes and trying not to look so anxious.
Wanda doesn't see you as she walks up the stairs to the party, and you bite your lip, impressed by how beautiful she looks.
You approach slowly, and whisper a hello in her ear, which startles her slightly, but she smiles turning to you.
- You look stunning. - You say breathlessly.
- So do you. - She replies with a smile.
You offer your arm for her to hold, and she accepts. You walk together toward the ballroom.
- How did you get such a fancy outfit? - she asks with a slight irony.
- Oh, I had kept it at home. For situations like this. - You joke.
- What situations?
- A date with a pretty girl. - You retort with a smile, and Wanda laughs lightly.
You walk to the entrance of the photos, and you lean against the pillar.
- I'm sorry I questioned your motives. - she says when you stop. - I was wrong.
You swallow dryly, feeling guilty. But you try to cover it up.
- You are forgiven.
Wanda smiles.
- Are you ready for the ball?
- Yes, miss. - You agree with a light laugh as you turn toward the party.
You dance together for a few minutes. The songs are terrible, but with Wanda, it's fun.
You also see Pietro and Monica dancing together, and Wanda exchanges a pleased look with her sister.
- Girl, have you seen him? - asks a redheaded girl walking up to Wanda. You know they are friends, and that her name was Nat or something like that.
- Who? - Wanda replies, confused.
- William! - she replies. - He asked me to come here.
You and Wanda exchange confused and amused glances.
- Natasha, please don't tell me you're hallucinating.
You were going to ask what they were talking about, but then you looked toward the stage and understood. You signaled for the girl to look, and she cracked a big smile when she saw Bruce Banner dressed as William Shakespeare waving at her, and walked off in your direction.
- I'm not even going to ask. - Wanda remarked with a chuckle before she went back to dancing with you.
And then the music is ending again, for a romantic one to take its place. You turn Wanda in your arms, kiss her tenderly for a moment, and then dance again, feeling her rest her chin on your shoulder.
And you dance for several minutes, and then someone pulls you away.
- Girl, what is Pietro doing here with that asshole? - Pepper asked aggressively as she pulled you away. - I didn't pay you to go out with Wanda and get nothing for it.
It was as if a bucket of cold water had fallen on you. Your gaze returned immediately to Wanda, and she was already looking at you with teary eyes.
- You have nothing to gain from this, have you?
she retorted wryly before walking away, bumping into you. You gave Potts one last look before following her.
- Wanda! Wait! Please! - You shouted as you walked out of the hall. She then stopped walking, and you let out a sigh. - Give me a chance to explain.
- You were paid to go out with me by the person I hate the most. - She retorted. - I knew it was a trick.
- No, Wanda. It wasn't like that.
- How was it then? An advance, and the rest of the money when you sleep with me?
- No! - You denied it with a shout. - I didn't care about the money! I cared about you.
Wanda shook her head, incredulously.
- You're different than I thought you were.
And then she turns and runs outside, and you sink your hands into your face, trying to calm yourself down.
- Where did she go? - You hear a male voice, and take your hands away from your face to see Pietro standing in front of you.
- Away. - You retort, feeling your stomach clench. - I screwed up.
- We did. - He says upset, putting his hands in his pockets.
- At least you got the girl. - You comment wryly before turning and walking away.
You think you're crying, but you don't care as you leave the party.
//-//
Your first lesson is literature the next day. And you know you will see Wanda, but you are hating yourself so much right now that you don't care. You arrive early for the first time in the whole school year, and sit in one of the back chairs.
As the other students arrive, you keep your head down, trying to distract yourself with your cell phone, even though you know that all your attention is on the girl sitting two chairs in front of you.
When Professor Fury finally starts the class, he is all excited.
- I guess everyone had time to finish the poem I asked for. - He announces standing at the front of the room. - Except for Mrs. Potts, who has an excuse. - He scoffs lightly, mentioning the confusion that occurred at the dance when you left, where Monica punched her in the nose. And now she was wearing sunglasses to cover up the purple. The whole room giggles at Fury's words. - Okay, does anyone want to start the reading?
The room is silent, but then Wanda raises her hand.
- I will.
- Lord, here we go. - Comments the teacher as the girl gets up, and stops at the front of the room. Wanda begins to recite the poem:
-I hate the way you talk to me. And the way you cut your hair. I hate the way you drive my car. I hate it when you stare. - She narrates, without taking her gaze from the notebook - I hate your big dumb combat boots, And the way you read my mind. I hate you so much, that it makes me sick, And even makes me rhyme. - She pauses, taking a deep breath - I hate the way you're always right, I hate it when you lie. I hate it when you make me laugh. - She looks directly at you, her eyes filled with tears and her voice trembling. - Even worse when you make me cry. I hate it when you not around. And the fact that you didn't call. But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you, Not even close, Not even a little bit, not even at all.
Wanda lets the tears flow as she finishes, and the room was too shocked to react. She rushes out next, grabbing her backpack on the way, and slamming the door.
You are trying to hold back your own tears as you stand up.
- I'm going to the bathroom, Mr. Fury. - You grumble as you leave, without waiting for permission.
But you don't find Wanda, and you decide that you’re simply not in the mood for school today.
//-//
You sell your motorcycle. You hate that it has the parts for the money Potts gave you, so when it is fixed, you call Carol, and she finds you a buyer. This means you are stuck with your mother for a longer period, but it seems like the right thing to do.
And then you text Wanda, asking her to meet you wherever she wants. She says she won't leave the house to talk to you, so you end up at her front door, shifting the weight of your feet before you decide to knock.
Wanda's father looks stern, and he doesn't smile when he sees you.
- Are you the girl who made my daughter cry? - he asks with a serious expression.
But then Pietro appears at his side, patting him on the shoulder.
- My God, Daddy, don't be like that! - he asks, smiling at you. - Y/N, you are here to apologize, I imagine. Let her talk to Wands.
Mr. Maximoff takes one last look at you before entering back into the house, and Pietro smiles, nodding his head for you to enter.
- Thank you, Pietro. - You tell him, and then he takes you upstairs.
He drops you at Wanda's door, and you take a deep breath before knocking.
- Come in. - You hear her voice on the other side.
Entering the room, you are slightly overwhelmed by the amount of visual information. Wanda has many posters. And she is sitting on the bed, with a book on her lap.
- Hey. - You greet her, closing the door. You leave your hands in your pockets, deciding whether to stand.
- Hi. - She replies, placing the book on the bed and crossing her legs. - What did you want?
You swallow dryly, and decide to sit on her bed, keeping your distance.
- To apologize. - You clarify, and she looks away. - Properly apologize.
- I don't know what you want me to say.
- I just want you to listen. - You retort and straighten your posture, feeling your heart soar. - I'm sorry I took Potts' money, because regardless of my motives, it was wrong to put your feelings on the line.
- Wanda frowns slightly, as if deciding whether to believe you or not. You clear your throat.
- I never should have accepted it in the first place, but mostly I should have stopped when I realized I was falling in love with you. - You say, and Wanda looks at you, surprised by your confession. - But I didn't stop, and I lied to you and kept deceiving you, when I should have told you the whole truth. I'm sorry I hurt you, Wanda. I swear I didn't think all of this would happen.
You take a deep breath, running your fingers through your hair. Wanda just stands there, looking at you as if trying to read your mind.
- I just wanted to say that. - You tell her feeling flustered,
- Are you in love with me?
Wanda looks at you intently, and you just smile shyly.
-Very much so.
And then Wanda approaches you, and when she is close to your face, she says:
- I'm still mad at you. - And then she kisses you. You have missed her lips, and unfortunately the kiss doesn't last long.
When you open your eyes, Wanda has already moved away again, leaning her back against the headboard.
- When you are no longer angry, can we do something together? - you ask her tenderly. Wanda stares back at you, as if to say something.
- I received my acceptance letter today. - She tells you suddenly, and you blink in confusion. Before you can congratulate her, she adds. - In California.
You look at her in surprise, feeling your heart race. Wanda was leaving.
- Oh. - You swallow dryly, shake your head slightly, and smile. - I'm proud of you, Wanda. Congratulations.
- I thought you'd be upset.
- No, it's okay. - You give her a sad smile. - I'll miss you, but it's amazing that you're going to college.
Wanda lets out a sigh, keeping quiet for a moment.
- What did you need the money for?
You are surprised by the question, and look away from her, feeling slightly uncomfortable that this subject is back. But you decide that Wanda has the right to know whatever she wants to.
- I needed to fix my motorcycle. - You tell. - My mom is... hard to deal with. We had a fight and she broke some parts with a hammer. The next day, Potts was offering me the money I needed.
Wanda looks at you for a moment, seeming to be absorbing the story.
- Did you fix it?
- Yes. - You confirm, but let out a humorless chuckle. - But I sold it later.
The girl looks at you, frowning in confusion. And you shrug.
- I felt bad about everything. I decided to try to do the right thing then. - You explain. - I think I'm stuck with my mother for a while now.
Wanda looks surprised at your conclusion, and you let out a sigh, flopping down on the bed as you stare at the ceiling. You are silent for a moment, and then Wanda crawls over to you and lies down beside you, looking up at you.
- What if you leave with me? - She whispers, running her fingers across your face, and you blink in surprise.
- What?
Wanda smiles shyly.
- I have a car. - she says. - And you could work, and we could share an apartment.
You straighten your posture, leaning on your elbow and looking at Wanda in amazement.
- Are you serious? - you ask, smiling, and she nods slightly. You let out a happy exclamation, and move in, kissing her on the mouth. Wanda giggles against your lips, but returns the kiss.
You quickly let go and sit down on the bed when Wanda's father suddenly opens the door.
- Keep this door open! - He warns with a stern look, and you swallow dryly.
- Yes, sir. - Wanda says with humor.
When he leaves, you throw yourself on the bed next to Wanda, and she goes back to reading while you lie beside her.
- Any chance you have any comic books around here? - You joke, and Wanda giggles, denying it with a nod.
You don't mind though, her company is enough to keep you distracted.
//-//
You end up using the money from the motorcycle sale to pay the deposit on the apartment you find for yourselves, fifteen minutes from her college. You get a job the same week, and you finally read the poetry that Wanda likes as you both drive towards California.

TAYLOR SWIFT / FEARLESS (TAYLOR’S VERSION)
These lyrics are from Taylor Swift’s 2021 re-recording of her 2008 sophomore album, Fearless. These lyrics may be modified to better fit roleplay purposes. Please note: every track from the new album has been included, except Love Story (Elvira Remix) and Forever & Always (Piano Version) due to their lyrics being duplicates of lyrics already in the album elsewhere.
FEARLESS
There's something 'bout the way the street looks when it's just rained
I'm trying so hard not to get caught up
You're just so cool
I don't know how it gets better than this
With you I'd dance In a storm in my best dress
I wanna stay right here
I'm not usually this way
You pull me in and I'm a little more brave
FIFTEEN
Take a deep breath and walk through the doors
Try to stay out of everybody's way
You know, I haven't seen you around before
When you're fifteen and somebody tells you they love you, you're gonna believe them
When someone tells you they love you, you’re going to believe them
We'll be outta here as soon as we can
All you wanted was to be wanted
All I wanted was to be wanted
Back then, I swore I was gonna marry him someday
I realized some bigger dreams of mine
I've found time can heal most anything
I didn't know who I was supposed to be
I didn't know who I was supposed to be at fifteen
LOVE STORY
We were both young when I first saw you
Hello
Stay away from Juliet
I’m begging you, please don't go
Please don't go.
Take me somewhere we can be alone
All there's left to do is run
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess
It’s a love story, baby just say yes.
Baby, just say yes.
We're dead if they knew
They're trying to tell me how to feel
This love is difficult, but it’s real
Don’t be afraid, we’ll make it out of this mess
I got tired of waiting
My faith in you is fading
I’ve been so alone
I keep waiting for you but you never come
Is this in my head?
I don’t know what to think
Marry me, Juliet
You’ll never have to be alone
I love you, and that’s all I really know
I talked to your dad
Go pick out a white dress
HEY STEPHEN
I know looks can be deceiving
I know I saw a light in you
I didn't say half the things I wanted to
You might have me believing I don't always have to be alone
I can't help it if you look like an angel
I wanna kiss you in the rain
Come feel this magic I've been feeling since I met you
I can't help it if there's no one else
I can’t help myself
I've been holding back this feeling, so I got some things to say to you
I never seen nobody shine the way you do
I've seen it all, so I thought
I think you and I should stay the same
Why aren't you here tonight?
I could give you fifty reasons why I should be the one you choose
All those other girls, well, they're beautiful but would they write a song for you?
WHITE HORSE
Say you're sorry
That face of an angel comes out just when you need it to
I honestly believed in you
This ain't a fairytale
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Maybe I was naive, got lost in your eyes
I didn't know to be in love that you had to fight to have the upper hand
I had so many dreams about you and me
I'm gonna find someone someday who might actually treat me well
YOU BELONG WITH ME
She's going off about something that you said
She doesn't get your humor like I do
What you're looking for has been here the whole time
Why can't you see that you belong with me?
I can't help thinking this is how it ought to be
You've got a smile that could light up this whole town
Hey, isn't this easy?
You say you're fine but I know you better than that
I remember you driving to my house in the middle of the night
All this time how could you not know?
Have you ever thought just maybe you belong with me?
BREATHE (FEAT. COLBIE CALLAIT)
None of us thought it was gonna end that way
People are people and sometimes we change our minds
It's killing me to see you go after all this time
I don't know what to be without you around
We know it's never simple
You're the only thing I know like the back of my hand
I can't breathe without you, but I have to
I never wanted this, I never wanna see you hurt
Nothing we say is gonna save us from the fall out
It's 2 A.M, feeling like I just lost a friend
TELL ME WHY
You might think I'm bulletproof, but I'm not
You took a swing, I took it hard
Down here from the ground I see who you are
I'm sick and tired of your attitude
I'm feeling like I don't know you
You tell me that you love me, then cut me down
You know you got a mean streak
I remember what you said last night
I know, that you see, what you're doing to me
You could write a book on how to ruin someone's perfect day
I'm sick and tired of your reasons
I got no one to believe in
You tell me that you want me, then push me around
Why do you have to make me feel small?
Why do you have to put down my dreams?
YOU’RE NOT SORRY
I've been giving out chances every time and all you do is let me down
It's taken me this long, baby, but I've figured you out
You're thinking we'll be fine again, but not this time around
You don't have to call anymore
This is the last straw
I don't wanna hurt anymore
You can tell me that you're sorry but I don't believe you, baby, like I did before
You're not sorry
I might believe you if I didn't know
I could've loved you all my life if you hadn't left me waiting in the cold
You've got your share of secrets and I'm tired of being last to know
You used to shine so bright, but I watched all of it fade
THE WAY I LOVED YOU
I couldn't ask for anything better
You look beautiful tonight
I feel perfectly fine
I miss screaming and fighting and kissing in the rain
It's 2AM and I'm cursing your name
I never knew I could feel that much
You're so in love that you acted insane
He can't see the smile I'm faking
My heart's not breaking cause I'm not feeling anything at all
FOREVER & ALWAYS
Were you just kidding?
I don't feel welcome anymore
Baby, what happened?
He still hasn't called
You feel so low you can't feel nothing at all
I was there when you said forever and always
Was I out of line?
Did I say something way too honest?
I thought I knew you for a minute, now I'm not so sure
Where is this going?
Did you forget everything?
I don’t think so
You didn't mean it
THE BEST DAY
I don't know why all the trees change in the fall
You're not scared of anything at all
I know I had the best day with you today
How my friends could be so mean?
I don't know who I'm going to talk to now at school
I have an excellent father, his strength is making me stronger
You're the prettiest lady in the whole wide world
I know you were on my side even when I was wrong
I didn't know if you knew
CHANGE
I believe in whatever you do
I'll do anything to see it through
These things will change
Can you feel it now?
These walls that they put up to hold us back will fall down
The time will come for us to finally win
So we've been outnumbered, raided, and now cornered
It's hard to fight when the fight ain’t fair
We're getting stronger
They might be bigger but we're faster and never scared
There's something in your eyes says we can beat this
We never gave in
JUMP THEN FALL
I like the way you sound in the morning
Your laugh is the best sound I have ever heard
All I can think is we should be together
Don't be afraid to jump then fall
I'm never gonna leave you
I'll catch you
The time is gonna come when you're so mad you could cry
I'll hold you through the night until you smile
Every time you smile, I smile
Every time you shine, I shine
UNTOUCHABLE
I'm reaching out and I just can't tell you why
I'm caught up in you
When you're close, I feel like coming undone
Say that we'll be together
I won't wait here all day
I want to feel you by my side and standing next to me
COME IN WITH THE RAIN
I don't wanna go there anymore
I know all the steps up to your door but I don't wanna go there anymore
I'll leave my window open
I'm too tired at night to call your name
Just know I'm right here hoping that you'll come in with the rain
I could stand up and sing you a song but I don't wanna have to go that far
I've got you down, I know you by heart and you don't even know where I start
I don't know what else I can say
I'm too tired at night for all these games
SUPERSTAR
This is wrong but I can't help but feel like there ain’t nothing more right
I can't help but wish I could see your face
I knew from the first note played I'd be breaking all my rules to see you
I'm no one special, just another wide-eyed girl who's desperately in love with you
Loneliness comes around when I'm not dreaming about you
I knew when I saw your face I'd be counting down the ways to see you
I'm invisible and everyone knows who you are
THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR
In the heat of the fight I walked away ignoring words that you were saying
This time I've had enough
I'm so mad I might tell you that it's over
Leave
I'm in love with you
All I need is on the other side of the door
I keep going back over things we both said
If you know everything tell me why you couldn't see when I left, I wanted you to chase after me
I can't even look at you
I don’t need you, but I do
There's nothing you can say to make this right again, I mean it
TODAY WAS A FAIRY TALE
Today was a fairy tale
I used to be a damsel in distress
Time slows down whenever you're around
Can you feel this magic in the air?
I fell in love when I saw you standing there
It's getting so much clearer
Nothing made sense 'til the time I saw your face
YOU ALL OVER ME (FEAT. MAREN MORRIS)
I lived, and I learned, had you, got burned
Swore that I'd get out of here
No amount of freedom gets you clean
I've still got you all over me
The best and worst day of June was the one that I met you
Don't you wish you had me?
Every breath of air I breathe reminds me of then
I watched a part of myself die
MR. PERFECTLY FINE
I've been waitin' for you all my life
Every single day until the end, I will be by your side
It takes everything in me just to get up each day
Hello Mr. "Perfectly fine", how's your heart after breaking mine?
It's wonderful to see that you're okay
Everything revolves around you
Well, I thought you might be different than the rest, I guess you're all the same
'Cause I hear he's got his arm 'round a brand-new girl
I never got past what you put me through but it's wonderful to see that it never fazed you
WE WERE HAPPY
When it was good, baby, it was good
No one could touch the way we laughed in the dark
Goodbye's so much harder 'cause we were happy
I hate those voices telling me I'm not in love anymore
THAT’S WHEN (FEAT. KEITH URBAN)
Need some space to think about all of this
When can I come back?
All this playing, did you ever think of me?
I'll be waiting at the front gate
I did you wrong, made mistakes and put you through all of this
I'll come back
DON’T YOU
I knew I'd run into you somewhere
It's been a while
I didn't mean to stare
I'm sure she'll make you happy
Don't smile at me and ask me how I've been
Don't say you've missed me if you don't want me again
You don't how much I feel I love you still
Sometimes I really wish that I could hate you
I swore I wouldn't do this
BYE BYE BABY
It wasn't just like a movie
This is the last time I'll drive this way again
I still love you but I can't
I was so sure of everything we thought we'd always have
Seems like I'm becoming part of your past
There's so much that I can't touch
You're all I want but it's not enough this time
I can feel you like you're slipping through my hands
I'm so scared of how this ends
I want you back but it's coming down to nothing

Are you in town? - Matthew Tkachuk (part 2)
part one here
part three here
word count: 1573
TW: consuming alcohol, language
let me know if you want part three, I’m still not used to writing series but I can try <3
...
Calgary was so much different from Chesterfield. It was big, clean, full of life and even after two months of living there, you still couldn’t get used to it.
The work was amazing, the income was amazing, your life was amazing. But as hard as you tried, you couldn’t stop thinking about Matthew.
Before the regular hockey season started, Matt got back to Calgary and you two met in a coffee shop near your apartment. It felt like as if you were back in Chesterfield, just two little kids living their dreams. You haven’t seen him since your sixth meeting, the hockey season occupied him too much, he said. Or was it just an excuse?
You cared too much. And you fell in love too quickly. And there was no way you’d let him ruin his life with all the partying you knew he loved.
After a few more weeks you grew really worried and after an useless visit to his home you’d finally decided to call him. It was long after the game he played that day so he might pick it up. Still, you nearly hung up on him just as he picked the call up, the loud music suddenly blasting through the speakers of your phone.
“Matt? Where are you? I called you yesterday and you didn’t answer so today I went to check on you and you weren’t home and your landlord told me you didn’t come home in days and-” You stopped babbling, scolding yourself. Did you sound as helpless as you were? It was his life and you had no right to talk into it but you just couldn’t help it-
“I’m okay Y/N, don’t worry!” Matthew shouted out and you winced at the loud noise. He sounded really, really drunk. He might have had a reason to celebrate with his team but tomorrow he’s playing again and if he’d be hung over...
“Where are you?” you asked flatly.
“I dunno,” he mumbled into the phone.
“Do you know someone there?”
“I dunno.” Matt repeated.
“Get out of there,” you said as calmly as you could, trying to shove the anger you felt aside. “And tell me on what street you are. Or what bar you’re in, I don’t care.”
“Just- just let me be. Go to sleep. You have work tomorrow.”
“That doesn’t matter, Matt. You have a game tomorrow, that’s far more important.”
Silence.
You heard the noise getting quieter; he must have been outside as you told him. At least he was sober enough to do that for you.
“Where are you?” you asked again.
“Eden.” he read aloud. You knew where it was - you were celebrating your promotion with your new friends there. It was close enough.
“I’m on my way. Don’t hang up on me until I get there, okay?”
“Yeah.” was the only thing he said. You needed to keep the conversation going til you get to him or he’d probably go back in the bar and you’d loose him.
“So, where did you sleep yesterday?” you asked as you started the car and drove onto the road. It was so dark outside, the only things lighting up your way the street lamps.
“At Dillon’s house, probably.”
“Who’s Dillon?”
“My teammate.” His teammate, not a random guy. At least that was a good sign.
You had no idea what to say. Congratulations on winning today and getting drunk as hell a day before another game? Thank god you could see the bar already and didn’t have to say exactly what you thought.
“Okay, I see you. Just stay where you are, I’m here.”
Matt didn’t answer but you could see him hang up, sitting on the curb with his head in his hands.
“Hey, handsome,” you said, sitting down next to him. He gazed at you and you were once again charmed by how beatiful he looked even with the bloodshot eyes. “I think you had enough for today.”
“Can you take me home, please?” he whispered. You had to fight the sudden urge to press your lips on his, taste the alcohol on his tongue, get addicted to his touch; but he was drunk. The worst thing is you probably wouldn’t dare to kiss him sober, either.
“Yes, I’ll take you home.”
...
“You know you messed up pretty big, don’t you?” you asked Matt as you unlocked the door to his apartment. It was a pretty thing that looked really, really expensive; in was on 20th floor in the kind-of-center of the city with an amazing view of the town lighted up like thousands of little stars.
“I have to wash my hair,” was the only thing he mumbled out. You laughed quietly, just now remembering how Matthew acted when he was drunk. It made him even cuter and more clingy and you loved it.
“In this state? You’re probably gonna drown.” you chuckled softly. “Let me help you.”
He let you take him to the bathroom, let you untangle his pretty hair. You were as gentle as you could be, parting the strands of hair with your fingers. You wanted nothing more that this moment to last forever - it was so intimate for the both of you.
Matt leaned his muscular back against the bathtub, tilting his head backwards as you turned on the warm water and soaked his hair with it.
A moan escaped his lips as you scrubbed his scalp with the shampoo and your toes curled up in your shoes. Concentrate on washing his hair, you told yourelf. Nothing more. Don’t think of how would the moan vibrate through your whole body with your lips on his, don’t think about how he’d moan when-
“Here you go,” you breathed out, trying to get the images out of your head. Too late - all you could think about was the taste of his lips.
“Thanks, Y/N.” The way he said it...
“I have to go.” you said quickly, too quickly to seem casual. Maybe he wouldn't notice; maybe him being drunk as hell was a good thing.
And still, you didn't move.
Matthew looked at you then, really looked at you with his beautiful eyes - eyes clear despite all the alcohol in his blood.
You were leaning over him in an awkward position, nearly sitting in his lap, with your hands in his hair. And your face was so close to his that all it would take was leaning in and you two would be kissing.
Matt's lips parted, clearly wanting to say something before closing his mouth again.
"You washed my hair," he finally whispered, lifting his right hand and tucking a loose strand of your hair behind your ear.
"Someone has to take care of you, you know." Especially when you can't do that by yourself, you added silently.
"I didn't want to make you angry, Y/N."
"But here we are, Matt."
Silence.
You weren't angry with him; you were so mad at yourself for falling in love with him. Love was dumb and unpredictable and useless and all it left behind was grief and at least one broken heart.
"Will you be there when I wake up?"
You had work tomorrow but...
“Of course I will. I'll stay as long as you need me to stay."
"You have to stop doing that," Matt straightened in his sitting position, the muscles in his arms shifting.
"What?" you asked cluelessly, not getting what was he talking about.
"Saying things that make me want to kiss you."
"Okay, I think it's time for you to go to sleep. A big day tomorrow, remember?" Your palms were sweating, your heart beating so hard you were afraid he could hear it. Did Matthew mean it? Or was he just drunk and wanted to fuck with someone?
"All my days are big if you’re a part of them," he mumbled as he leaned in and kissed you.
The first thing that hit you was that he smelled of cheap vodka and memories.
This was the moment you dreamed about but it was so wrong. You couldn't stop thinking about the alcohol that probably ruled over his body and how he'd regret this the next morning and that he would cut you out of his life once again-
"Stop," you gasped out, leaning out of his welcoming touch. "No, no, no, we can't do this. You're so clearly drunk and this is so clearly a mistake-"
"Is it? I've loved you since I first saw you; even though I can't exactly recall it because we were so young. But I remember that you held your knife and fork in a different way and you were so stubborn when the teacher tried to make you change it. I remember how you braided your hair in two braids with those cute colourful ribbons. I remember you smiling so widely it immediately made my day brighter. I remember I loved you and I think it would be easy to love you once again."
His words once or twice blended together but you got the meaning of them. It was easy to forget he was drunk. The fact that he meant this was enough to make you forget everything else.
"It would be easy to love you once again, too," you whispered.
Your foreheads were touching and you felt his shaky breath on your cheeks. You should be panicking right now. Maybe leaving him on the bathroom floor would be for the best. But you knew Matt. You trusted him. Yes, it was probably a foolish thing to do, but in love, all people were fools.
And so you kissed him once again, this time thinking only about how much he felt like home.

LIONESS
Warnings: Angst, fluff, small violence
Words: 20.130
“Begin.”
Loud clashing of lances can be heard through Garreg Mach hallway.
The red-haired skirt chaser barely able to hear you said it when you rushed him. Sylvain knew that he should focus on his strikes. He didn’t have time to be impressed at this small, petite girl that is jabbing her lance so fast against him. Devastatingly fast. And strikingly strong. ‘It is such a wonder how a small, petite body like hers held so much power’. That’s the last thing that passed his mind before (Y/N)’s lance has cracked so loudly against his that he thought it might snap. Beautiful, fierce, deadly (E/C) orbs that staring into his soul has captivated the Gautier heir and got him hard knock on his shin, felling him over.
“Whoa there! I yield. You do like it rough, don’t you, (Y/N)?” Sylvain raise his hands on the air with and winks seductively. Rolling your eyes, you put a light tap on his neck at his remarks.
“Though she be but little, she is fierce. (Y/N) is the youngest among us, but she is indeed a Lioness!” Dimitri claps over your third in a row winning for today. You beat Felix in sword and Dimitri in the lance spar.
“That’s what you get for skipping classes, Sylvain. And.. keep up with your solid techniques, excellent moves, and rapid quick footwork, (Y/N). That’s all for our combat class today,” said Professor.
“She’s a few inch shorter than me but she had effortlessly defeated Blue Lions’ strongest lancer and swordsman! That’s my favourite lil sis (Y/N) for you!! ” said Annette giddily. She hugs you in a death grip embrace and sings her silly song.
Everyone are so nice to you, to the point of spoiled rotten! Especially Ingrid and Mercie! They are like your big sisters, always offering their help to ride pegasi and give endless supplies of baked sweets that you love very much. Felix is kinda harsh and always eager to spar with you, but he’s the first person to get angry when someone bullies you because you are so small. So kind, almost feel like a big brother! Dimitri helps you with your late night studies and picking books in the higher shelves on the library a lot. Dedue and Ashe cook dinner together with you on your duty day.
They see (Y/N) as the sweet smol bean that has to be protected at all cost!
“Are you free tonight, Munchkin?” Care to join me to visit the town and get something to eat? I know this little restaurant that has nice dessert! My treat, of course! Think of it as a token of congratulations from me on your brilliance today!” Sylvain put his hand on your shoulder in a friendly gesture and wink seductively.
“Seteth will scold us for sure, Syl! This is the fourth or fifth time we went for a late dinner this week,” you pout at his invitation. “He won’t. I’ll walk you back before curfew as usual. Don’t want my Kitten to get hurt on her way back. Night walk can be dangerous, you know.”
“Why you are being so nice to me, Syl... Your girls will be upset and kill me for sure.”
“Nah.. I don’t have any! It would be a shame to waste such a beautiful evening alone. Besides, I don’t want to let my Munchkin starved in her sleep! Not to mention that you just looked awfully cute with your cheeks stuffed.” You smacked his shin and rewarded with a loud yelp from him. “Lead the way. And.. it’s not like I like it or something like that, you know! Don’t get any wrong ideas,” you hide your blush and took his huge hand in your tiny ones.
The food was delightful as usual and Sylvain stay true to his words about going back before the curfew.
As you both closed the large door’s that marked the dormitory, you were greeted by the crisp spring night. Warm wind passed over your forms, and crickets chirped in the night.
“While we’re at it, how about a little board games rematch at my quarters? I got a new strategy to show you, Syl!”
“Bring it on then, (Y/N)! Let’s bring some sweet buns as usual to snack on later as well, then.”
“It’s a deal!”
“I’d think playing it on the bed would be more comfortable than doing it on the floor. You might catch another cold and passed out like last month in my room. It scared the living daylights out of me! Nope, never trying that again.”
“It’s not fun being frail and get sick easily.” You sigh.
“No problem. Think of it as a good chance for me to get to carry you around in my arms. For our weddi-- Ouch!!” he faux a sad face melodramatically when you punch his hand away playfully. “You might be small and petite but these hands are a force to be reckoned with. You’re as strong as a lioness,” said the philanderer as he ruffled your hair affectionately.
It was such a beautiful night.
---
“Do you have a moment, Miss (Y/N)? I have something important to tell you regarding my research and your Crest. We can discuss it in more detailed manner in my research room,” Professor Hanneman ask you out of the blue after the afternoon battle strategy class.
“Crest? But I’m sure I don’t have any, Professor! It’s stated as clear as a day in my enrollment documents, isn’t it?”
“There’s a mistake, Miss (Y/N). And I sworn it on my name as the Father of Crestology, you do HAVE a Crest. A Major one at that! Congratulations! I have sent a letter to your family and inform other Professors and your House Leader regarding this matter. I have my suspicion about your Crests since I watch your prowess at combat and when it activates, the timing, and the flash of....”
You are a bit shocked about this and decided to ignore this fact, having a hard time to process this shocking information. Your family and other members of Blue Lions will be very surprised of this information. Is it going to be a good thing or not? Professor Hanneman’s murmurs fell on your deaf ears as you politely excuse yourself out of his room. ‘It’ll be better to keep this as a secret to avoid unwanted attention nor unnecessary commotion’ you think to yourself.
---
Moons have passed. Then the night of the ball came. Urged by your curiosity, you are eager to wait for your true love at the Goddess Tower. You were hardly expecting to see Sylvain, of all people. The surprise at seeing each other was mutual. The both of you stood there for a moment, simply enjoying the scene before you. You wrapped your arms around yourself to stave off the chill that went down your spine, shuffling closer to the older man.
“Do you even believe the rumors about this place?” he asked as he lay his uniform coat over your shivering form. “My curiosity gets the best of me. But am glad to find you here, Syl.”
“Huh.” Sylvain went quiet, his face etched with contemplation. After he thought about it a little, he let out a huff of breath and frowned.
“Well, the person I’m interested in... is already here. You’re here alone. I’m here alone. I was thinking maybe....”
“Wait. Me?”
“Well, of course! We’re the only two people here, aren’t we? I keep thinking about it, and it just makes sense. My Crest and yours...”
“How did you...?”
“Dimitri told me. I have confirmed it with Professor Hanneman as well. A Major one, he said. So lucky.”
He looked down at you menacingly. Your eyes were averted away from his, looking away into the distance. “What do you mean? I’m still me, Syl. Crest or no Crest.”
Despite your dismissive answer, something changed in his expression. He took his hands from behind his neck and stalked towards you. This wasn’t at all like the kind and flirty Sylvain you loved. He’s... different.
“You know what? I’m a bit jealous. The whole time you were growing up, you never knew you had a Crest. You were free. Nobody pretended to like you. I kind of hate you for that...” he slammed you hard against the wall behind you. Strangled pained noise came from you.
His knees rest on either side of your petite body and his arms cage your head, his much bigger hand grasp yours roughly. “All you’re worth to me is a little bit of fun. We’ve been having fun, haven’t we? I thought that you understood,” Sylvain’s face a mere inch from yours, glaring daggers at you. You can feel your tears begin welling, threatening to spill at his words.
“Is that really what you think of me? I thought... I was different. So… our friendship has just been for nothing?” you muttered quietly, holding back your sobs.
He scoffed. “Of course you are. You’re just some dumb noble looking for crest babies. You never meant anything to me.” His rejection was validation of your worst fear, that you were just like every other girl. Your friendship had all fallen apart and meant nothing for him.
“Playing around with girls is the most fun a guy can have. Besides, I don’t care what you think of me. I don’t intend to change how I live my life. I’m a good-for-nothing, if you haven’t noticed, but I’m still a noble with a Crest. That’s all anyone cares about. It’s best to avoid getting too serious with fools like me.” His expression darkens and unreadable. The carefree mask was long gone.
“My Crest bring me nothing but pain. I thought maybe...if I made someone else suffer, it might help me feel better.” His hand shot up and grabbed you by your throat. Sylvain held you in front of him, tightened his grip, choking you hard. His caramel eyes glowed dark with excitement.
“Unnnghhh......Syl....”
You tried to squirm away but he clamped his hand tighter, making it harder for you to breathe. Your legs felt weak and limp. The pain was too intense.
“You were a spoiled brat who should pay for that Crest. Maybe I’ll collect the debt.” His expression dark as he looked up at you.
Focusing yourself, you punch his jaw as hard as you can. To your surprise, a blinding flash of your Crest shows up when you smack him as hard as you can, making Sylvain flinch in pain, dropping you with a loud thud on the cold floor. You stumbled back and dropped to your knees. Gasping for air, you tried to rub the pain from your throat, doing your best to pick yourself up.
“Sylvain Jose Gautier! I care not for your Crest nor title! It means nothing to me. I like.. no, love you because you are the strongest, kindest, funniest, and the most caring person that I know. Even you are such a skirt chaser, but you always very considerate and protective of me. I never felt this way before about someone. This is my first time but... This… This was a mistake. Sorry. I hope.. you find your own happiness someday,” you said, your voice is raspy from his deadly grip and your sadness. Tears were finally flowing freely from you.
Sylvain’s posture becoming rigid despite his feigned relaxed position. “H-hey,” Sylvain said, his voice softened somewhat. “Please, don’t cry. I’m sorry...”, he tried to pat your head, but you step back instinctively. The red head flinch and turned away when he saw angry purplish hue on your neck. Guilt began creeping on his conscience.
“I believe you. You’re not a bad person, Sylvain, no matter what anyone says. I care about you. Our friendship, dinners, late nights walk and banters... I cherished them a lot. Really, I do. I love you, Sylvain.” You couldn’t meet his eyes, couldn’t look at anything besides the floor. “That’s what I came to tell you, but... nevermind. Good night, Syl. I’ll see you tomorrow in class.”
“Did you mean that? (Y/N), wait!” He spoke with disbelief.
“Why would I lie?” you asked, hardly audible. “Goodbye, Syl.”
His pleas fell on deaf ears as you dash yourself as fast as possible from Goddess Tower, locking yourself inside your quarters, clutching to Sylvain’s uniform coat, while crying yourself to sleep.
---
That’s the last thing that you can remember from your Academy Days. Things were never the same since that night. You never talk to the playboy ever again since that incident. No more night walks or late board games. When you have to work together in weekly duty, there’s an unseen awkward distance and heavy tension between you two.
The notorious philanderer went back into his old ways, going around with a different girl each day. You often catch him glimpse at you with eyes full of remorse and sadness (mostly when he thinks you aren’t looking or noticing). Everyone in the Blue Lions noticed the changes between your relationship but being very considerate of your feelings and trying to not mention anything about it.
Your Father called you back home because of his grave illness in Pegasus Moon, insisting you to leave the Officers Academy behind. Blue Lions was taken aback and sad with your abrupt leave. Going back to your home in Fhirdiad, days flies in a blur motion into moons and years.
---
It’s been 5 years since you left your Academy days in Garreg Mach.
A bloody coup led by Cornelia causes Duke Rufus and Dimitri both to be apparently killed. Her tyranny left Fhirdiad in poor state with poverty and famine. Holy Kingdom of Faerghus thrown into disarray condition with their Prince’s disappearance. The nation is plagued by civil strife and hardship.
With the vast majority of the former Kingdom lords having bent the knee to the overwhelming power of the Empire, all Blaiddyd territory, including the Kingdom capital, is ruled by those who are cooperating with the Empire, and is thus renamed the Faerghus Dukedom. Houses Fraldarius and Gautier were left to spearhead the resistance as the primary opponents of the Dukedom.
As the legitimate Marchioness of your major noble house in Blaiddyd territory after her Father’s passing, (Y/N) decided to keep on fighting against Empire until the bitter end, along with Houses of Fraldarius, Gautier, and Galatea. You keep maintain close relationships them, mostly with the neighbouring Houses, Fraldarius and Galatea. Whether it may be reinforcements soldiers to House Fraldarius or stock supplies to House Galatea, you are so much eager to give it all (sometimes by going there personally—much to your advisors’ dismay) to aid them. Being always giving or adding the most relevant information about current war state developments made you overjoyed when you heard about the news of Dimitri’s plan to recapture Fhirdiad.
---
It’s been forever since your last time fighting on the battlefield. Reclaiming the capital is a daunting task with shortage of soldiers and resources. Rodrigue’s death is a devastating blow to Faerghus’ military strength and resources. Not to mention that House Gautier and Galatea has any resources to spare. With limited resource of your own House, you decided to prioritize evacuation of Faerghus’ citizens and helping Blue Lions to the utmost.
Dimitri marches for Fhirdiad, causing the oppressed citizens to revolt against Cornelia’s tyranny People are rebelling against Cornelia and Fhirdiad has turned into a gruesome battlefield. Fire was everywhere The sound of metals echoed loudly in your ears. Large Titanus crowded the streets and wreaking havoc upon buildings and citizens. With your sword in your hands, you leap and cut through Kingdom Soldiers that is preparing to activate Viskam turrets against Felix.
You pushed forward with great caution. When you are done helping a pair of elders and children under the rubbles to evacuate, you saw him. Sylvain. Fighting over a mage and a large Titanus all by himself. Did he get separated? He barely dodged a fireball when you strike down that mage.
“Munchki--!” He gasped, surprised to see you back.
“Watch out, Syl!”
You leap in front of him, parrying and slash back at the Titanus’ large appendages that is going to smash him. Sylvain cast a Ragnarok and taking down the golem-like creature with a loud explosion, sending flying debris everywhere. He gasped, grabbed your arm and pulled you out of the way.
“Ugh... that hurts. Are you okay, Munchkin?” He was trapped under the rubbles and the first thing that he asked is your safety?
“W-why did you do that, Syl? You got hurt protecting me. Didn’t you want to kill me?”, you said as you helped him out from the rubble. Fortunately he is okay aside from a few scratch and bruises.
“When I thought you were going to be killed for real, my reflexes kicked in. I reacted without thinking. It doesn’t mean I’ve stopped being jealous of you. But, come on, I can’t help looking up to you.” He look at you with eyes full of worry and sadness.
“Sylvain..... Well.. It’s been awhile, but as much as I want to chat with you, we have to help Professor and Dimitri first. Cornelia has brought us so many sufferings. Now’s the time to put an end to all of this. And... thank you, Syl.” He nods and push forward to throw his lance at a Pegasus Knight that is fighting against Ingrid.
“I will go to deactivate Titanus’ lever. I know its location and it will help everyone tremendously against that gigantic monster! I’ll open Fhirdiad’s secret passages within my House territory to help everyone to get better access to Cornelia. When I’m done with it, I’ll regroup with reinforcement soldiers from my House to evacuate more citizens on the east side of Royal Capital, then go to help Dimitri fighting against Cornelia. See you later, Syl. Please stay safe.” You bid your farewell and run through smaller alley path, doing your missions, leaving Sylvain astonished at your very thorough, detailed plans.
Without the Titanus, Cornelia only has archers as her backups. As you take the archers down with Felix and Annette, Professor and Dimitri are working together to close in on her and take her down. It was a gruesome battle, but thanks to everyone’s efforts, casualties were kept to minimum and reclaiming Fhirdiad is a big success after Cornelia has been defeated.
---
It may be spring, but the nights are quite chilly here in Fhirdiad. The people are rejoicing at the return of their King. After a hard won battle of reclaiming Royal Capital of Fhirdiad, celebratory feast shows no sign of stopping. Growing weary of the festivities, you decided to excuse yourself from the banquet at the castle balcony.
“Munchkin. Here you are. His Highness has been looking for you. He wanted to express his gratitude for your loyalty and huge help at reclaiming Fhirdiad.”
“Good evening, Syl. We just did our utmost to help. Fhirdiad’s peace and safety of the Blue Lions is of the most important thing for me, after all.”
A moment of silence passed where both of you stayed still, just basking in the moonlight and enjoying each others’ presence for a while.
“I’m sorry. I really am.” You are taken aback when Sylvain bows his head deeply in front of you.
“I know I messed up really bad and it’s fair enough if you can’t find it in your heart to forgive me. My jealousy got the best of me and it has brought you so much harm. Most girls just want me for my title or my Crest, and when I thought that it was the same for you, I… I was the one who made a mistake. I’m sorry, truly I am.” Peeking at him from the corner of your eye, you could see the furrow of Sylvain’s brows, the frowning twist of his lips. It was a look you’d never seen on him. Regret and pain. He looks so vulnerable. Somehow, you didn’t doubt the apology.
“Please elaborate, Syl.”
“Since I bear a Crest, my parents made sure I was never left wanting. My older brother didn’t have one, and so when I was born, he was pushed aside. My mere existence stole everything from him. There’s so many people that want to get close to me because of my crest. Because of something I didn’t even want to be born with. I wish I could have cared as little about my Crest as you do yours...,” he grimaces, running a hand through his hair briskly. “Women smile at me for the same reason my parents adored me...and my brother wanted me dead. And I have to meet them all with a smile because I have a Crest.” Sylvain purses his lips.
“But you–you’ve never treated me differently. Always being there for me and understand me, and…and–I like you, (Y/N). No. I love you so much that it scared me. A lot,” he says, closing his eyes.
“You say that, but it doesn’t excuse the things you’ve done.” You didn’t want to look at him, didn’t want to let him see mixed expression you were making at his sudden confession but you knew he was looking at you. Intently.
“I was devastated when you left Garreg Mach years ago. I lost you once and I won’t let it happen again. So.... what I’m saying is…” he hesitated and briefly appeared at a loss of words which is very unlike of him.
He hugs you closer very tightly it hurts, cradling you gently against his chest. This close, you can feel the rapid pace of his heart and his nervousness. “Can you give me a second chance?” Sylvain’s touch was awkward and clumsy.
“......I will. But first… Please let me go, Syl. You are crushing me.”
Sylvain paused, as if unsure. “Did you mean that?” Vulnerability colored his tone, softened it. “I’d like to be a man who deserves that. Who deserves you. Even if you want nothing to do with me, one day I will find a way to make it up to you, to earn your forgiveness. I promise.” His voice wasn’t strong with his infamous flirtatious bravado. It was sincere.
“You’re so much more than just your Crest or your status, Sylvain Jose Gautier.” Taking his much bigger hand in your tiny ones, you smiled and whisper it against his hand. “You are the most amazing, kind, strongest, and nice man for me. Your path is your own. I love you just the way you are, Sylvain. Crest or no Crest.” His face turned dark red instantly redder than his hair at your words. Sylvain.exe has stopped working
“You are going to be the death of me, Munchkin!!” Sylvain yells frantically. You can see his ears flushed furious red. He can die happy now. Goddess Sothis please take his soul.
“Why you still call me Munchkin, Syl?” you asked much to your curiousity. “It’s been years but you barely grow a few inch! But y-Ouch!! He yelps when you jab at his stomach. “But you have... grown into a fine, smart, and beautiful woman.”
“Time hasn’t been so kind to me in these past years, Syl. After my Father’s passing, I have to succeed him. Being a Marchioness isn’t an easy task but I learned so much and am still learning.”
“My sincerest condolences for your loss. But... he must be very proud of you, Munchkin. You will be a great Marchioness. Strong, thorough, quick-witted, and lovely as a—”
“Flattery won’t get you anywhere, Mr. Gautier.” You rolled your eyes at him. The redhead laughs softly and embrace you in his arms.
“When this war is over, will you come with me to my homeland? It’s time for the first step in the right direction. I don’t want to marry a girl who wants to use me for my Crest or a girl who someone else chose for me. I want to marry someone I really care about. With you by my side, I’m excited to find out what this new way of life is all about. (Y/N), I’m serious. Marry me. I’d do anything for you. I’m done lying, especially to myself. I’m going to spend the rest of our lives together trying to make you happy. I promise.”
“I’d like to.... introduce you to my parents. They’d love to have a new Gauti—Gyaahh!!!” He shrieked when you stomped your feet on him. “I’m so DONE with you, Syl!!” you said with exasperated look, looking away trying to hide the rising heat in your cheeks. ‘A future with Sylvain...’
There’s a pause when you catch his gaze and find something vulnerable there, something familiar. The flicker of hope, mirrored in your expression. It’s as if everything falls into place and clicks. Then his lips were on yours, soft and hesitant, so unlike his usual self. Your eyes fluttered shut, your lips moulding against his, as his hand came up to cup your cheek. It was all the confession you needed.
“I will, Syl. I promise.”
---
Bonus:
When Professor and the Blue Lions heard about your new relationship with Sylvain, they offer you heartfelt congratulations and throw a little dinner party. Dimitri is OVERJOYED and sobs a little when he saw you are radiating with so much happiness. Back then in your Academy days, he was the one who worry about you the most when Sylvain treated you poorly, after all. Ashe and Dedue throw a lavish dinner to celebrate (Y/N) and Sylvain’s relationship that evening. Mercedes and Annette provide everyone with tasty sweets and dessert. It was a heartwarming small party among Blue Lions members.
Sadly, Sylvain didn’t get to celebrate it together. Rumors had it that Felix and Ingrid has beaten him to a bloody pulp (with Professor’s EXCLUSIVE permission) because he made you their lovely sweet lil sis wept and hurt. Sylvain kept on mumbling something between “Don’t ever hitting another girl”, “RUIN his Lance of Ruin”, “Don’t ever taint her”, or “You’re finished”. Even the kind and benevolent Mercie turned her back and refuse to heal Sylvain. The Gautier heir almost went to hell that evening.
The poor, traumatized philanderer will changing his ways for the better for sure.

“I Love You” (MHA Boys)
A/N: Here is a wonderful break from the horror genre I usually write. Enjoy!
Prompt: The first time they say they love you
Characters: Some of class 1A and some extras!
━━━━━━━━┓ * ┏━━━━━━━━
Aoyama Yuga: As silly as it may sound, the moment he laid eyes on you he knew you were made for him. After months of him trying to win your heart over, you finally caved and began dating. It wasn’t until you were at the mall trying clothes on for a school dance that he confessed. In the middle of the food court, surrounded by many people, he shouted his undying love for you. “My (Y/N)! My sweet, delicate flower; the light of my life, I love you.” Aoyama was a flashy guy, therefore, he had to be flashy when it came to this, even if it meant you being embarrassed.
Bakugo Katsuki: You’d been right beside him just a second ago and now you were being held hostage; pressed against the blade of a villain who stood behind you. You gave your lover a look that told him to leave but you knew he wouldn’t, not until he had you safe in his arms. Calling his name, his eyes found yours and his heart sank. “I love you.” He whispered so quietly, the villain asked him to speak up. “Don’t hurt her!” Bakugo barked back. Thankfully, in the end, you found his arms safe and sound and returned those three words he never thought he’d hear.
Iida Tenya: Despite his uptight personality in the classroom, Iida’s personality shifted when he was alone with you. The moment he knew he loved you was when he woke up with you in his arms. You were pulled tight against his large frame, sleeping soundly in the morning light. His eyes adjusted to the brightness of the room before he kissed your forehead softly, watching your eyes flutter open. You looked up at him and he smiled, pressing his lips to yours for a split second, “I love you.”
Kaminari Denki: In every drunk statement, there lies the truth. Denki was far from sober and it looked as though half of his buddies were all drunk as well. The karaoke night was something the boys all did every month to catch up on life after UA. Tonight, they had invited some of the girls and Denki’s long time love; you. All it took was for you to move some hair from his eyes while he not-so-noticeably stared at you, and the words tumbled from his lips. “I’ve always loved you, y’know.” It took you by surprise but he was startled when you blushed and said it back.
Kirishima Eijiro: A villain attack had happened so fast, no one was prepared. Kirishima did his best to keep you at his side but at one point you both got separated. When he managed to find you again, he stopped running towards you and his heart sped up. With wide eyes, he watched you body slam one of the villains into the ground, using your quirk to knock them unconscious. “I love you.” He said suddenly, surprising himself and you. Turning to face him, you flashed him a smile and said it back.
Sero Hanta: The arcade lights were beautiful against your skin as you waited in line for laser tag. Sero did his best to brag about how good he was at this but you simply ignored him. Having dated for a while, Sero thought he knew everything about you; but nothing could prepare him for the ass-beating he got when you won the game. You had tackled him from behind, shooting at his vest and smiling down at him. He stared up at you with absolute love and pride in his eyes and heart, “I love you so much.” He grinned, watching you blush before quietly saying it back. “But I will win in the rematch.” He still lost.
Shoji Mezo: It was during the holidays when he realized that he loved you. He took you out one night to the middle of town to watch the tree be lit up. The soft smile on your lips as you drank your hot chocolate made his chest tighten. Shoji didn’t even realize the lights had been turned on until you looked up at him. The gleam in your eyes and the way you smiled at him made his heart ache with so much adoration. “I love you.” He said bashfully, watching your eyes widen in surprise before taking his hand in yours and saying those three little words back.
Todoroki Shoto: The boy was so nervous he thought he’d dig a hole and put himself in it. It was the first time you were meeting his mother and the boy felt sick to his stomach at the thought of her hating you. However, all of those thoughts vanished when he came back from the restroom and saw the two of you laughing. His heart calmed and a small smile graced his lips knowing that you two got along really well. “I love her.” He told his mom, watching your eyes widen slightly before you smiled and responded. His mother one hundred percent approves.
Tokoyami Fumikage: Nothing but the sound of rain could be heard from inside the empty library. You volunteered there and often saw the hero, thus growing a relationship that went from friendly to romantic. It was a gloomy day that prevented everyone from stopping by to return or check out books; except Tokoyami. You sat together in the gothic literature section, his voice carrying out the sentences of the book you were both looking at when all of a sudden he stopped. “(Y/N), if I may, I need to tell you something.” He about gave you a heart attack but he continued, “I do believe that I have fallen in love with you.”
Shinso Hitoshi: He didn’t really want to go to another party that Denki had thrown, but you practically dragged him along anyway. Thankfully, the party consisted of about twenty people and it was pretty laid back, much to his liking. Shinso was busy staring into his cup that most defiantly did not have alcohol in it, when you came up to him. Denki was the king of beer pong, until you showed up and beat him, five times in a row. Shinso couldn’t help but chuckle watching Denki grow irritated that his streak was broken and the purple haired male walked up to you and kissed your head whispering in your ear, “Have I ever told you how much I love you?”
Inasa Yoarashi: The restaurant was too fancy for your liking but you were glad that you got to see Inasa and have a nice, relaxing dinner. You noticed that he had been very quiet during the meal and when you asked him about it, he caved. He took your hands in his from across the table and said your name in a way that you thought he was about to break up with you. “I’ve been waiting for the right time to tell you this; I love you.” He said with a blush on his face. You let out a sigh of relief and smiled at him, returning the phrase. The rest of the dinner was loud on his part, his nerves finally leaving and his usual self returning.
Mirio Togata: You sat by his side, tending to his wounds and not saying a word. You didn’t know what you could say to him that would make him feel better; he’d lost everything. Nighteye, his quirk; you could feel the depressed aura that was floating around him and it hurt you to see him like this. When the festival rolled around, Eri stuck to his like glue and you were happy to see his smiling face again, knowing that he sill carried hope. At one point, he grabbed your hand and faced you, “Thank you for staying with me through all this and not giving up on me. I really do love you, (Y/N).” You blushed at his words and let him kiss you.

The First Hand To Hold Yours
the bickslow fic is finally here, under the cut!
Rune was just a child when the first met the boy with the most beautiful eyes they had seen. He had been poking around the barrier just outside Ilva Caelore, in the forested land that richly covered the edges of the kingdom. He was around their age, taller than them and poking around the leaves at the border.
“You shouldn’t do that, you know,” was the first thought that tumbled out of their lips.
The boy’s head shot up, eyes wide. It was the first time they’d seen anyone with that color of eyes, a beautiful red like the finest rubies. Rune felt aer cheeks flush with heat. The boy, on the other hand, grinned mischievously.
“So? What’s wrong with it?”
“I… nothing I know of. Well, for you. I-I can’t leave.”
The boy’s eyes widened at this. “They won’t let you leave the forest?”
“They won’t let me leave the kingdom. I’m usually at the castle, I’m a servant.”
The strange boy plopped down on the ground in front of the barrier, taking out a strange toy from his pocket. Rune crouched down to be closer to him.
“That sounds stupid. Fight ‘em.” He replied as he rolled the doll around his hands.
“I can’t, I’m already in trouble enough here for just existing…”
The boy paused in his fiddling, finally looking aer over. Ae was much tinier than him, aer clothes clean but loose on aer, much too big, and aer light blue hair flowing long down from their ponytail. He looked away for a beat before looking aer in the eye again, a toothy grin on his face.
“I have an idea!”
“H-huh?”
“How about I tell you about the world outside, and you tell me about your kingdom.”
“Really? You’d come back here again? For me?!” Rune jumped up, hands clasped tightly together.
“Of course!”
And that was how their secret meetings began.
~~
“—and that’s what it’s like in my town right now! Heh, we’re all getting excited for the fall festival, it’ll be great!” The boy, who called himself Bix, laughed joyously. “Aren’t you having a festival too?”
Rune nodded, eyes staring at their lap. “We’ll, yes, but I’ll be part of the preparation for the castle. I’m not really allowed to go out, and there’ll be too many eyes on me during the festival making sure I’m staying inside and out of the way to enjoy it.”
“That’s stupid. What could you even do to make ‘em act like that?”
“I dunno… but couldn’t you tell me what you do at festivals in Fiore?”
Bix blinked as Rune batted their eyes up at him, hands once again clasped in front of them as they waited for his response.
“Agh, don’t look at me like that! Every time, you know I’ll just tell you!”
They had the audacity to giggle, motioning for him to get on with it.
“Well, I like to go to all the stalls with games! There’s all sortsa prizes you can win! Dolls, usually, but I think it’s good stuff because of my Magic. And really yummy food! Cotton candy and takoyaki! Stuff I don’t get to usually eat because it’s “not healthy” or whatever. But, the best part is at the end of the night when I get to hold Ma’s and Pa’s hands and watch the fireworks together.”
He waited for Rune to awe at his tales of festivals, only to watch them play with their fingers. As he was about to huff out, they finally spoke up.
“What’s it like?”
“The fireworks? Well, they—“
“No! The, uh, holding hand part. What’s it like to… to hold someone’s hand?”
Bix stared at them blankly, “Huh?”
Rune deflated. Of course he wouldn’t tell them. Silence passed between the two for several moments, and Rune let the wind soothe their lonely heart a little.
“You’ve never had someone hold your hand?” Bix finally spoke up, voice confused and pitched.
Rune shook their head. “No. Nuala never has, she usually just tugs along at my sleeves. And no one else goes near me except to scold me.”
Bix crossed his arms as another silence passed between the two.
“Then I’ll promise you something.” He spoke again.
“What?”
“I promise that when you can finally leave that damn kingdom, I’ll be the first person to hold your hand, okay?”
Rune flushed, nodded, “Thank you, Bix, I can’t wait to hold your hand.”
~~
The years had changed Rune, but it hadn’t let their memories slip away. Perhaps that’s why being in close proximity to Bickslow set them off in a way no one else could.
They couldn’t place what it was about the man that set off their heart too badly, had it running and their face flushing. Was it is stupidly cocky grin? The way he felt he could so casually drape himself over their shoulders? How when they had first met, he had called them cute for biting his finger (No one called them cute, no one except—)?
It didn’t matter, but Rune was convinced at first it was anger that lit up their body’s reactions. They were just unnaturally angry at their guild mate because he had no manners! He was just a flirt! That’s all it was!
But then, when he had invited himself over along with Freed after they had gotten Evergreen’s, and some of the other girl’s, help to decorate their house. And he had been the last one to stay. And he was still himself in all aspects, cocky, hyper, joking, sincere.
“It’s getting dark out huh,” he pouted as his dolls, his babies, hovered around him a bit lower than usual.
“It’s late,” Rune replied brusquely.
They had been fidgety ever since everyone else had left. Bickslow always brought something awkward out in them that they couldn’t place. And now, with it being only them and him, there was nothing to distract them from this feeling.
“Yeah… guess I better get going, huh?” He let out a laugh after that as his babies repeated his last words.
He was the first to stand, Rune quickly following after as he headed to their door. They couldn’t help themself from reaching out to him, only to stop just short of his hand.
He turned around to see their arm stretched out towards him, and his smile broke into a larger grin. “What, can’t get enough of me? Need a hug?”
Rune’s arm slammed back down into their side as they hissed at him. “Oh please! Like I’d need one!”
“But you waaaaaant one!”
“In your dreams!”
“Hush, just take it, gahahhaha!”
He threw one of his arms around their shoulders like usual, bringing them in for a side hug before ruffling their hood. They butted against his hand gently, like an annoyed cat looking to get off a cap. It caused another round of laughter from the man, before he pressed a quick kiss to their temple.
Both of them froze as soon as Bickslow pulled away, his grin frozen in place as he looked down at them. Rune felt their face heat up like it was on fire as they stiffened up, eyes staring straight ahead.
Letting another laugh out, Bickslow quickly said goodbye before bolting out the door.
Minutes ticked by as Rune still stood there, looking at their closed door as their brain churned. Finally, they reached a shaking hand up to their temple as their knees gave out, heart pounding as they gently pressed against the spot where his lips were moments ago.
“Shit.”
~~
Weeks went by with the two avoiding each other, even on the ship to Tenrou Island as the trials started. Rune felt lucky that they had little need to speak to the man, as they were on a practitioner and not a competitor.
Until shit hit the fan, and they were under attack. Somehow, their feet led them directly to Bickslow after a terrible battle had left them worse for wear. Or perhaps it was their Heaven’s Eyes, the ability to look around for miles undisturbed by obstacles had them pinning down his position in seconds earlier. Or, perhaps, he found them.
His hands hovered around them as they silently stared at each other. Rune noted suddenly that his hood was gone, exposing his eyes, a familiar shade of ruby red.
“You’re hurt.” Bickslow spoke up first, his voice uncharacteristically soft.
“I’ll be fine, we should find the others.”
“Hah! Easy with you here, huh.”
Rune shrugged, “Just start heading that way, that’s where they are.”
They walked a few feet forward before stumbling over a root. Before they could even shoot a hand out to brace for the fall, Bickslow’s arms had already shot out to catch them, pulling them to his chest.
“Guess I better keep a grip on you, heheh.”
They glared up at him, huffing as they wiggled out of his gentle hold. They couldn’t look him in the eyes, the color too familiar. “I’ll be fine. You don’t need to hold my hand.”
“Actually, Ruru, I think I do.”
Before they could counter or ask what he meant, he’d already taken their hand in his. They stood there incredulously, face blank as he ran his thumb over the back of their hand oh so sweetly. It definitely wasn’t what made aer knees wobble for a moment, not at all. But Bickslow still let his free hand reach out and steady aer.
“So, am I the first?”
“I, what?”
“I promised you all those years ago that’d I’d be the first person to hold your hand when you got out. I gotta know that I kept my promise to you? Well, a part of me hopes I didn’t...”
Aer mouth felt dry as they swallowed. “Bix?”
“That’s me. You remember, right? Our promise?”
Rune bit aer lip as they nodded, grip tightening on his hand, aer eyes blurry. “I do.”
His grin was like a beam of sunlight in Ilva Caelore, so warm and sweet. “Can I know if I kept my promise to you? Have you held anyone else’s hand?”
Ae shook aer head, smiling up at him. “No, I’ve been waiting for yours.”
“You have it now.”
“I do.”
The two stood there for a moment, hearts at peace, before the booming battles of their guild mates shook them out of their reverie.
Bickslow looked over towards the noises, his grip tightening. “Well, we’ll have all the time in the world to hold each other’s hands after this.”
Rune nodded. “We will, so, let’s help our friends.”
