Is your love for Branch bigger than Poppy
I love Poppy but she's no match for Branch sorry Poptart (I will still kiss and marry her)
Idk how to explain my close attachment and love for him but... Ok idk if you guys know that one lesbian who is the ultimate Randy Marsh lover but that is who I strive to be one day if that makes sense

Sometimes when I'm watching Voltron it feels like they're trying to make Keith like cool, aloof and awesome in a straight neurotypical way and to me thats super funny, because counter to their plans, the pure Keith energy that was sensed by the a portion of neurodivergent and queer audience was taken and cultivated into something so queer and neurodivergent that it had the power to get me an official diagnosis of autism and change my interpretation of my queer identity as I knew it as a teenager and that's fucking insane

It lowkey makes me so amused when people go “imagine if people were still irrational about left handedness like they are about x 🤪” because it’s like… I get the point and I mostly agree, but people are oh my god people still are
Sure it’s less common (increasingly so as time goes on), but I had a teacher attempt to fail me in 4th grade literally just for being left handed. It wasn’t even hidden; she openly admitted to it, saying it violated her “Catholic values”. It resulted in a third party academic team being involved to investigate all of my coursework and regrade everything, but it still happened.
And other left handed people can tell you how difficult it is to find left hand friendly tools, including but especially scissors.
Being taught hand-specific skills is also less accessible, because most of the people teaching said skills are teaching it from a right-hand-dominant perspective and you now have to either learn it “backwards” or find a way to use your non-dominant hand. (This can be skills from handwriting, sports, hobbies, you name it. If it requires a dominant hand, then you can bet it’ll be taught from and for right handedness)
I’ve known people who were forced to be right handed by schools, local communities, their families, their employer, and so on
So I can’t help but giggle when people go “imagine if we were anti left handedness like the 1800’s was” because I’m pretty sure I’m not that old

My controversial mlp take is that the pinkie apple pie episode actually makes pinkiejack a MORE compelling ship, not a problematic one. But that's because I see queer love shrimp colors

love how when i auditioned to play a child who builds a time machine i was basically just being naturally autistic on stage and not only did they choose me despite my lack of experience and it being a major part, the whole cast also decided that yes this character is 100% autistic

genuine question as i'm attempting to learn:
for everyone who identifies as exclusively lesbian or exclusively gay, what do you think about about mspec lesbians and gays? ive seen different views from people all over the queer community, but never together, and i'd like to attempt to gather a few here for a bigger picture of everything

i don't really like when people say dungeon meshi is accidentally good autistic representation, because while i understand not wanting to make conclusions without explicit confirmation from the author, there's always the weird assumption that non-western authors somehow don't know about things like neurodivergency/queerness/etc. (on top of the assumptions that east asian authors are somehow more naive or oblivious to "western" social issues).
given that dungeon meshi started being published in 2014, it's not really a "work belonging to its times"—it's as contemporary as any other media we discuss on this site, which means it should be fair to assume it engages with contemporary topics (and at the very least, you shouldn't say that the representation is accidental with so much confidence)
but anyways, the chapter "perfect communication" in ryoko kui's "terrarium in a drawer" is some of the most straightforward autistic representation I've seen, and from now on I'm going to assume that laios's character writing is absolutely intentional in that regard:

finding out your white and white male friends voted for the ultra right hurts but most of all it angers you
it angers you because they're your friends, have been your friends for over a decade, you grew up with them, you thought you shared the same values and it fucking sucks when politics finally becomes a topic of conversation, because you're grown now, and find out you don't really know these people, and it angers you because you've shared so much with them, with people you now realise are the exact same as people you've always despised and spoken up against
finding out your white and white male friends voted for the ultra right hurts and most of all it angers you but you ultimately see how it was always there
but finding out your queer friends, your immigrant friends, you neurodivergent friends, your barely-lower-middle class friends voted for the ultra right? friends you've seen go through struggles and discrimination and lack of possibilities? that shit cuts you like a knife to the fucking heart because you don't get it, you don't understand how they could listen to people that outwardly, blatantly and unapologetically hate them for who they are and are outright fascists and go "that's who I'm voting for, that's who represents me"
you don't get it and it angers you, it really does, but most of all it saddens you, it saddens you because they're dooming not just everyone else but themselves, too, either because they don't know or they don't care, and you don't know which one is worse
