When it comes to Tsukasa and being sick my take on it is that if it's affecting him and only him, he IS going to try and push through it bc he's not about to let it hold HIM down. It's just another challenge in the life of a future star! No it doesnt bother him hes just taking a quick break! No the pain is bearable dont worry its fine! He's not leaving it unattended at all, per se, maybe takes something to help, but doesn't sweat it too much. So things like a headache, stomachache, dizziness, minor injury and so, that's fine for him, he'll work through it or he isn't tsukasa tenma (see: ode to your heart beginning. also phoenix kinda?)

But the moment where he's coming down with something that can possibly SPREAD and infect others, thats a different story. Oh he has a fever?? He's coughing?? He is closing himself in his room on medications and not going anywhere. Unless he deems it necessary to go, or hes not doing terribly bad, then he will leave but only with a mask, 5 boxes of tissues both wet and dry and a disinfecting spray/gel and also he's standing at least 2m away from everyone else at all times, constantly reminding them to wash hands and not touch his things unless he's cleaned them. And he leaves the second he's done with what he needs to do / feels a bit worse

He is NOT going to be the reason someone else is getting sick and he refuses to even risk it. Its fine if its just him because he thinks that he'll deal with it fine (50% chance it passes quickly and mildly and 50% chance it absolutely wrecks him over for at least a week. no in between) but he doesn't know how well others deal with being sick and he'd rather not accidentally cause someone a bad time

Okay okay so. Cole and Morro fucked off after Possession, and thus weren't present at all for Nadakhan's Season that I Forgot the Name Of. And Cole became a ghost not because of Yang, but because of his own issues and a convenient train. So why are they getting entangled with him?

Well, Cole did work with the ninja for a bit, even if it was technically all a ruse to earn their trust and get the Realm Crystal. And he was with them when they had to enter the Temple of Airjitsu. So Yang knows of Cole.

He gets Cole to the Temple, and then tries to convince him to help in a "get revenge on the ninja who dunked on your boyfriend" way. Cole's more indifferent to the ninja than anything at this point, and would rather go find Morro instead. So Yang pulls out his trump card, and uses the Yin Blade to bewitch Cole and Morro, sending Morro off to the museum and convincing Cole that actually, Morro went to go hang out with Wu and the ninja and not with him. So Cole destroys the globe, the spirits are released, and Yang gets his students to sit Cole down and make him stay so Yang can go open the Rift.

The villains are reawakened and go to fight the ninja, and Morro? He was initially going after Wu for revenge, under the Yin Blade's influence, but when he gets there, he realizes things aren't lining up. Maybe it was the tea Wu was brewing that broke the spell, maybe it was seeing his old home, maybe Morro simply went out of range of the Yin Blade. Regardless, Morro realizes what's going on, and warns Wu as he does in canon.

The rest of the special progresses as it did normally, with the ninja successfully fighting off their respective enemies and converging at the museum. They're not happy to see Morro, and Cole was never a ninja in this AU, so Morro very nearly throws all his pride out the window to beg the ninja for their help. But Wu steps in before that can happen, and the ninja agree that letting Yang go through the Rift is probably not a good idea.

Back to the Temple. Cole's been doing fairly okay, fighting through the effects of the Yin Blade and fighting Yang's students, but by the time he makes it to the roof he's nearing the end of his rope. Yang taunts him, pointing out Morro's absence and—though he doesn't know it exactly, because he doesn't know all of Cole's deeper issues—hitting a much sorer spot. Cole's almost ready to give up (he's no stranger to giving up, is he? Always running away from the hard things, from the difficult things, giving up everything he has because it's somehow easier than enduring through it—)

Enter the Destiny's Bounty. In canon, it couldn't get close enough for the ninja to help because of the winds. In the Spiritshipping AU? Well actually Morro leaps down onto the floating island without a single thought spared to the ninja, leaving them stuck as spectators, but hey! At least Cole's not alone!

"Morro!" Cole gasped, coming back into visibility. "What are you doing?"

Morro blasted three of Yang's students off the roof entirely. "You saved me before, remember?" He knocked another back with a kick, swirling winds building around his shoulders. "Well now it's my turn to save you!"

And boy oh boy, is Morro powerful with the raging winds all around. Yang is fucked. And indeed, Cole shatters the Yin Blade, freeing Yang's students, and they all go through the Rift. Cole and Morro lift off to go through, and Morro makes it through—

What is Cole doing. Why is he just... standing there? IS HE TALKING TO YANG—

As in canon, Cole tries to bring Yang into the Rift with him, because even in this AU Cole is still a kind and empathetic person at heart. But as in canon, Yang grabs Cole and throws him into the Rift just as it closes—leaving everyone to wonder if Cole made it through.

The Bounty is forced to land, and the ninja all disembark to look around, finding Morro standing with Yang's students, worried that Cole is gone forever.

"No, no, NO!" Dust devils scattered across the ground next to Morro, "IDIOT! I went through all that effort for you, and you just—COLE!" He gripped his sword, even more dirt getting swept up by the wind building around him. "You said you'd follow me to the ends of the earth!"

The ninja looked around at each other awkwardly. Morro was their enemy, but he hadn't made any trouble since the Preeminent. It was hard not to feel bad for the guy when his hurt was written across his face, voice raw as he yelled about being lied to.

"You idiot..." Morro growled. "You promised—"

"And I'm not breaking it!" There he was, standing tall, proud, and alive—Cole! He grinned, a brand new scar glinting in the moonlight, and barely a second passed before he had to spread his arms to catch Morro. The ninja felt as though they were intruding on a private scene, witnessing the naked joy on Morro and Cole's faces as they spun around and embraced, grinning like nobody was watching.

And then Cole and Morro make out sloppy style, the end <3

So Black Mask AU (or Black Captain/Dark Captain I haven't entirely settled on a name) is a new game plus AU and that's important to explain the changes in his motivations!

The AU starts exactly the same as Captain, Riku moves to Tokyo, Hatanaka is a piece of shit to him, he meets the thieves and they start investigating her palace. However this time round, something in the palace goes wrong and the thieves end up failing the deadline. And failing the deadline for Hatanaka's palace... results in Riku's death :] (putting it shortly Riku is more useful to her dead than alive so she has him killed)

That should have been the end of him, however he wakes up immediately after getting shot. After being understandably disorientated he realizes he's somehow been transported to 2/3 years prior to the events of Captain (a couple of months before he was due to move to Tokyo) and he has all his memories intact, right up until the point he was shot.

This understandably messes him up a lot because he went through hell and on top of that he remembers everything he learnt during Hatanaka's palace (I won't go into much of that as its spoilers for the main AU). He also decides to go into the Metaverse in Port Island because he still has access to it, and its here he awakens to his black mask persona (Mordred who I ADORE lmao) and where he first kills someone (albeit by accident).

As for his motivations someone put it really well once, spite in general is a huge motivator for Riku in both AUs! Black Mask Riku basically takes the idea of him being motivated by spite to a whole new level, as his main goal in the AU is to get revenge on those who wronged him and who caused his death in the original timeline. He's here and alive in spite of these people and he is sure as hell going to make their life hell.

while we're talking about noras writing. I think parts of the way riko is written in the original is bad too. I think she makes him dumb when it's needed for the story. killing seth to me made no sense. if riko has the power to kill members of the foxes... kill Andrew!! riko is obviously very talented, surely he could have also analysed that seth was messing up the team, and killing him (ironically) only helps the foxes.

so. kill Andrew. Kevin comes running back. not only have the foxes lost one of their best strikers and their best goalkeeper. they can't even play anymore!! they've lost one too many players to meet the requirement. it's over. done.

and ik some Andrew stan is gonna say he couldn't be killed but bfr. Andrew is strong and a good fighter, yes, but riko could easily hire a well seasoned hit man or even a damn team of them if needed. make it look like a suicide, an accident, or even a murder! doesn't matter. the press thinks Andrew is insane and he's hated. Kevin comes running back and the ravens spin it as Kevin needing support in his grief from his team & family blah blah blah.

obviously riko doesn't do this cuz then the plot is fucked. but then don't establish that he can kill members of the foxes. have him do something else idk.

Apreciate that you managed to come up with something i had not heard so far in the fandom, tho i see the sentiment a bit differently. i think assuming that riko could deduce this much about foxes bond is bit of stretch, on top of it riko specifically wanted to kill a striker to put more pressure on kevin and neil with kevins damaged hand. so this leaves seth and matt and seth is clearly much lower profile death case considering matt has rich surgeon dad you could think that killing andrew would be too hot to pull off for that reason too considering andrew was somewhat involwed with the policeman investigatign his case in the past (excuse me i rember almost nothing of that plot by now the guy he called piggy or whatever) We also can``t assume that Riko could get just ... everything. he is second fmaily branch and tetsujis lil pet project i think if anythign i'm bothered by how inconsistent his range of power and infulence is That said Riko i smart and poses danger, he ha sskills and is not stupid. But its very easy to forget that if you spend too mcuh time readign tumblr tags or fanfics because the fandom makes sure to present him as biggest clown ever simply because nboody likes him . I gues good character writing is not smh ppl bother with when they hate someone lol Riko is good villian with a lot of flavs and his ego getting in his way, i think in very fitting way riko biggest enemy is riko himself and the way tetsujis upbirnging shaped him The fact that our mc is nobody but neil fuckgin josten and his side is damned andrew minyard do not help rikos case. you have 2 people who went throguh hell facign off again one motherfucker still stuck in it. if our mc's were different people riko would seem like different kind of threat . as it is he is just nuisance. but this is not fault of authors writtign this is issue of reader simplifying his role in the story and ignoring it simply because .. he's the villian ? and forced need to put all spotlight on other characters. people forget those books would not be as good if riko was the pathetic loser they write him as in fan content
