Roevember Day #18: Comrades
Tumblr media
"But first... I must deal with you. The question of who is mightier remains. Come, adventurers! Let us find the answer together!"
Tumblr media
...I don't think I've ever been more terrified. What even just happened with Lahabrea, with Hydaelyn? And now it's down to this monstrosity, this superweapon, versus...us.
Tumblr media
We're in this together. The three of us, all blessed by Hydaelyn, thrown together under inauspicious circumstance, unable to stand each other, yet capable of slaying gods when we bother to stop arguing. These comrades... are not who I would've chosen.
Tumblr media
I can't imagine who else I would have chosen, who else I'd prefer to have at my side in this moment.

can you write something where Damien is comforting reader because they just graduated from a school(like masters degree or something) and none of readers friends could make it to the party? I'm so fucking miserable because that's whats happening in real life right now. i legit have four friends and I'm positive the two who said maybe will not make it
anyways, she/her pronouns for reader and if it becomes smutty I'd be fine with it
Hey there!
First of all, I want to give a huge congratulations on graduating with your degree! That's an incredible achievement and you should be immensely proud of yourself. 🎓✨ I know it really sucks when your friends can't make it to celebrate significant milestones. I've been through similar situations, and it's definitely tough. But remember, this is a moment to celebrate YOU and all your hard work.
I hope you enjoy the story and that it helps brighten your day a bit. I tried to get to this as soon as I could, hope it didn't take too long. 🫣🫣
Sending you lots of love and congratulations again! 💖
Summary: In this smutty(18+) one-shot, Damien comforts you after disappointing news about your graduation party, showering you with love and affection. His support turns passionate, leading to an intimate encounter where he makes you feel cherished and desired.
You were curled up on the couch, staring blankly at the TV. The joy of your recent graduation was completely overshadowed by the news that none of your friends could make it to your party. You felt a mix of sadness and embarrassment, convinced that nobody wanted to be around you.
You're too special to be sad for too long.
Damien came through the door, juggling bags of groceries. His cheerful expression immediately changed when he saw you. "Hey, babe. What's wrong?"
You wiped away a stray tear, trying to smile. "Nothing, just...my friends can't make it to the party. I guess it's not a big deal."
He set the bags down hurriedly and rushed over to you, gently lifting you up and onto his lap. His arms wrapped around you tightly, pulling you close against his chest. "Of course it's a big deal. You worked so hard for this, and you deserve to be celebrated."
You buried your face in his chest, feeling the tears start to flow. "I just feel like nobody wants to be around me. "
Damien tightened his embrace, his hand rubbing soothing circles on your back. "Hey, don't talk about yourself like that. You're amazing, y/n. You're smart, beautiful, and you've accomplished something incredible. I'm so proud of you."
His words and touch made you feel a bit better, but the sadness still lingered. "But it's still so embarrassing, Damien. It feels like...like I'm not important to them."
He leaned back slightly, cupping your face in his hands and making you look into his eyes. "Of course you're important. You're the most important person in my life and anyone who doesn't see how incredible you are is missing out. You should be feeling great in this moment, you deserve all the love and admiration in the world."
You felt a small smile tug at your lips, his sincerity warming your heart. "Thank you, Damien. I just...I feel so alone right now."
"You're never alone," he whispered, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. "I'm here, and I'll always be here for you. You're my everything."
He continued to hold you close, his hands gently stroking your back and hair. "You've achieved something amazing. You've worked so hard and come so far and you did it all with such grace and determination. I'm in awe of you, baby."
You let out a small sob, touched by his words. "But it feels like it doesn't matter if nobody cares."
"Don't say that," he said firmly, his hands moving to caress your cheeks. "It matters, you matter, and I care. More than anything. I love you, I love everything about you. Your kindness, your strength, your intelligence."
His words were like a balm to your wounded heart, soothing the pain and bringing a warmth you desperately needed. "I love you too, Damien."
He smiled, his eyes shining with love and affection. "Good. Now, let's make this a celebration, just the two of us. You deserve to feel special."
You nodded, feeling a bit better. "Okay."
He kissed you softly, his lips lingering on yours. "I'm so proud of you."
You felt the sadness start to melt away, replaced by the warmth of his love and support. "Thank you, Damien. I don't know what I'd do without you."
"You'll never have to find out," he promised, kissing you again. "I'm here, always."
His hands roamed your body, his touch both soothing and arousing. He made you feel cherished, loved, and desired. "You're so amazing" he whispered, his fingers tracing the curve of your waist. "You've worked so hard. You deserve to feel so good."
You gasped as his fingers found their way under your shirt, his touch igniting a fire within you. He gently caressed your skin, his fingers tracing the waistband of your panties, sending shivers down your spine. "See how good you're doing, baby?" he murmured, his voice a low, comforting rumble. "Such a good girl."
He took his time, his fingers playing with the edge of your panties, teasing you with light, feathery touches that made you whimper and squirm. "You're amazing, baby," he praised, his eyes filled with admiration. "I love seeing you like this."
His fingers finally slipped inside your panties, moving with deliberate slowness. He traced your folds, feeling how wet you already were. "Look at you, so beautiful and ready," he whispered, his voice husky with desire. "Does this feel good, baby?
"Yes," you breathed, your body arching into his touch. "So good."
"So fucking pretty like this," he murmured, his fingers exploring you, finding the spots that made you gasp and moan. "I want you to feel amazing, to forget everything else. Just focus on me, on how good I'm making you feel."
His thumb circled your clit slowly, his other fingers teasing and exploring without ever entering you. He savored every moan, every shiver that ran through your body. Damien wanted you to long for him, to forget your sadness and only think about the pleasure he was giving you.
"You're so wet," he murmured, his voice filled with awe. "I love how your body responds to me. You're so perfect, baby."
"Damien," you whimpered, feeling the tension and sadness melt away under his touch. "You're not supposed to be able to make me feel like this right now."
He chuckled softly, his eyes never leaving yours. "I'll always make you feel good, no matter what. You're too special to be sad for too long."
He smiled, his eyes never leaving yours. “I want you to feel incredible,” he murmured, his fingers continuing their gentle exploration.
He coated his thumb in your juices and brought it to your clit, rubbing it lightly while his other fingers traced the contours of your entrance, teasing you just enough to drive you wild with anticipation.
“Please, Damien,” you begged, your voice a desperate whisper. “I need you.”
“I know, baby. I’m here,” he soothed, finally pushing a finger inside you. The sensation was intense, and you cried out, your body responding instantly to his touch. He moved slowly at first, allowing you to adjust to the feeling, then began to pump his finger in and out of you, his movements steady and deliberate.
"You feel incredible, y/n," he whispered, his voice filled with awe. "So tight and wet for me."
You whimpered, your hips bucking against his hand, seeking more of his touch. He added a second finger, stretching you and making you moan louder. His thumb continued its slow, torturous circles on your clit, building the pressure inside you.
“Do you feel good, baby?” he asked, his voice a soothing rumble. "I want you to feel amazing, to forget everything but this."
"Yes," you gasped, your body trembling. "I feel...so" you couldn't fully form the words.
"Look at you,” he said softly, his eyes full of adoration. "My pretty girl, being so good for me, taking my fingers so well."
He increased the pace, his fingers moving faster and harder inside you. He could feel your body tensing, your muscles clenching around his fingers. "You’re doing great, baby. Just a little more. You can do this," he whispered, his voice filled with love and encouragement.
The tension inside you built to an almost unbearable point, your body trembling with need. "Damien, please...I'm so close," you moaned, your hands clutching at his shoulders.
"I know, baby. I’m here. Let go for me. I’ve got you," he murmured, his fingers pumping into you with an intensity that made your whole body shake.
Your orgasm hit you like a wave, crashing over you with an overwhelming force. You screamed out his name, your body convulsing as the pleasure washed over you.
Damien held you tight, his fingers moving relentlessly, guiding you through the waves of your orgasm. "That's it, baby, look at me. Just like that, god, you have no idea what you're doing to me," he whispered, his voice filled with fascination.
He didn't stop, his fingers pumping in and out of you hard and fast, prolonging your pleasure. "I'm the luckiest guy in the world who gets to touch you like this, feeling your sweet pussy clench around my fingers," he murmured, his eyes never leaving yours.
Your body trembled with the intensity of your orgasm, your mind blank except for the sensation of his fingers inside you and his loving words. He continued to hold you, his touch both firm and gentle, his eyes filled with adoration. " Wow, still so pretty," he whispered, his voice soft and tender.
As your orgasm finally subsided, he slowed his movements, gently easing you down from the heights of pleasure. He held you close, his fingers still inside you, his other hand caressing your cheek. "You did so good, baby. I’m so proud of you," he murmured, Damien said still holding you tight.
You lay there in his arms, your body trembling and your mind reeling from the intensity of your orgasm. "Thank you, Damien. I love you," you whispered, your voice filled with emotion.
"I love you too, baby. Always," Damien replied, kissing you softly.
You put your hand against his cheek, "You know, this is the best party I've ever been to."
He chuckled, putting your hand in his, "and I haven't even unpacked the snacks yet.

Annie Leonhart Relationship Headcanons
Tumblr media
Tags/Warnings: No Reader Pronouns
𓆃 Because no matter how Annie actually feels about you, she's one to keep her distance. Your best bet is to kind of ease into any kind of relationship you can get.
𓆃 Perhaps you might have higher chances if and when you survive the national conflicts, but given her withdrawn and skeptical nature, it's very likely that even post-war, it will take a significant amount of years for Annie to even consider an invested relationship.
𓆃 Or, she'll immediately dive into a relationship and remain emotionally unavailable and aloof. Both are likely depending on the circumstance.
𓆃 Annie is naturally reserved, rather blunt, and calculating. Add into the mix guilt, loneliness, repressed childhood emotions, and Annie's tentative attitudes toward compassion, and you have the perfect storm for an emotionally unavailable partner.
𓆃 This is, of course, not to say that she's one to wait until she's "perfect" or otherwise "healed" to dive into the dating life. Rather, this has more to do about the rate at which she'll warm up to you.
𓆃 You have the best chances being a long-term friend and support and having that friendship evolve into something more. Annie is most definitely not one for fuzzies or touchy-feely things, but you can warm her up to gestures that are more on her level.
𓆃 Your relationship will likely be an unspoken one as well. Don't expect Annie to use labels to introduce you or refer to you. Perhaps you'll get "partner" down the line if you're very close and very lucky.
𓆃 And don't expect large, traditional milestones that other couples may have. Annie hasn't been planning a wedding, picking out engagement rings, or pointing out ideal locations for an engagement.
𓆃 Perhaps you can convince her for an intimate ceremony if you insist that those sorts of things are important for you, but anything that borders on grandiose Annie will certainly consider offensive.
𓆃 She's honestly quite the contradiction, because there's a yearning deep down for deep relationships— she is human, after all— but she's prone to self-sabotage and general aloofness.
𓆃 This may lead her to jump into commitments that she's not actually committed to. She wants your love and attention, but only on her terms because she doesn't feel whole.
𓆃 And maybe you can have a moment just the two of you when she finally reaches an emotional breaking point. Maybe then you can almost build up to a real relationship within your relationship.
𓆃 Annie also isn't one to perform traditional gestures of affection. Don't expect flowers, cutsie acts of domestic labor, or words of affirmation. While she does have a threshold for acts of physical affection, they're executed more like a mundane chore or in times of extreme emotion.
𓆃 Most gestures of affection, you have to squint to see. A lot of them come from her upbringing.
𓆃 Physical activity such as runs, strength workouts, and wrestling is something Annie will willingly bond over and will form an integral part of your relationship. Even if you are unable or unwilling to perform at the intensity that Annie holds herself to, meeting you where you're at is a real gesture of affection for her.
𓆃 She's not a cook but can and will make some cultural foods that have been passed down from her father for you. It's rare, but the cooking is surprisingly solid.
𓆃 Annie is an interesting person to have a relationship with and likely the only one where you can be equally emotionally stunted in and still have a working connection.
Thank you to all who liked, reblogged, followed, and supported. Your support means so much and is greatly appreciated.

When Miles asked Y/n to be his plus one, she almost couldn’t believe it. His delivery was cool and casual as if he didn’t invite her to a party with all of his family and closest family friends in attendance. They had become official a little over a month ago (though Miles swears it’s been longer), so the first family gathering was a big deal, a huge milestone most couples put off until much later. When she tried to explain to her boyfriend the significance of this event, he didn’t understand. “Don’t start stressin’. It’s jus’ my abuela’s birthday party,” she remembered him saying.
Abuela?
Abuela!
If his grandmother was anything like Rio Morales, Y/n would be walking into a lion’s den. Miles did nothing to placate her worries, making her do the exact thing he told her not to do: worry.
The weekend had arrived and so did the much anticipated birthday party. Y/n spent a considerable amount of time getting ready, choosing a tie front top with a cami underneath and satin skirt to combat the sweltering city heat. She double checked every angle in the mirror before leaving her apartment.
The corners of the gift envelope addressed in her elegant script were slightly bent from being clutched in her nervous hands all the way to Harlem. It was easy to find the building. Y/n simply followed the booming sound of music and laughter to the rooftop. The party was already in full swing. Half of New York showed up to celebrate Gloria Morales’ 70th birthday.
Y/n moved through the packed party-goers to the gift table, not seeing a single familiar face amongst them. She felt out of place. Does she introduce herself? Wait? Look for Miles? Certainly he wouldn’t leave her to brave his family alone. A tinge of panic settled in her stomach as she looked again.
“You lost, babygirl?” Y/n nearly jumped out of her skin hearing a strange voice beside her. The boy was taller than her and around her age or a little older. His feather duster of a mustache curved with his smirk as his leering eyes roved her head to toe slowly. Painfully slow.
She prickled, immediately raising her guard. “No, I’m just waiting for someone.” He glanced around, seeing everyone engrossed in their own conversations.
“I ain’ never seen you round here before. What’s your name?” Y/n hesitated to answer, but gave him a curt reply. “Thas cute. Real cute.” This was a party after all, the point was to mingle. And she didn’t want to seem rude. She had no idea who this guy was. He might’ve been a cousin, a family friend, someone who could easily say the wrong thing to the right person about her. “You know how to dance?” The night was starting to look very long.
Where was Miles?
Miles was very late. On his way, but late. His mother has surely noticed his absence by now. Abuela was definitely asking about him. And Y/n…she was probably already there. He cursed himself underneath his mask. That last job was pushing it. There was no time to go home, change, and take the subway like he originally planned. Luckily, he knew a shortcut through the skyscrapers and shadows of New York.
The window of his abuela’s apartment squeaked as it slid open. Miles rushed to shed his Prowler persona in the guest bedroom and stuff the suit in his bag. In a second, he appeared to be a normal teenage boy despite the forming bruises. He prepared himself to face the wrath of his mother, grandmother, and girlfriend. What he was not prepared for was seeing Y/n about to be pulled to the dance floor by another guy. They were close. Too close for his liking.
Something burned inside Miles, one he was reluctant to identify—jealousy. Dare he say doubt? He was new to the boyfriend thing. Sometimes he said the wrong thing, silent at the wrong times. But he tried. Was Y/n already fed up? There was no denying she was gorgeous. She could pull any guy she wanted.
He stalked closer, effortlessly weaving through the crowd. “Oh, come on! I’m not asking you to marry me. Just one song.” The guy tugged at her again. Miles recognized him. Eric and his family were friends, though Miles only endured his presence when they were forced to be in the same place. They’d never gotten along, finding each other to be a nuisance and a relationship beyond neutrality unnecessary. But that little understanding might just end right here, this was not about to fly on his watch.
“I told you I don’t want to dance,” Y/n separated herself out of his grip. The sheer expression of disgust on her amused Miles. She found him as annoying as he did.
Eric made the mistake of reaching towards her again. He had the chance to back off and it sounded like he had been warned more than once. This was not about to fly. Miles decided it was time to interfere. He swiftly placed himself at Y/n’s side, his footsteps soundless, a skill learned from his…side hobby. “La escuchaste, cabrón. Retrocede.” Venom laced his tone, an unspoken threat at the tip of his tongue. The air turned to ice around the three of them. You heard her, cabrón. Back off.
The confidence drained from Eric’s face. He knew good and well Miles was not to be messed with. There were rumors about him and his penchant for beating anyone who pissed him off into the ground. “Ella es tu chica, Morales?” He stepped up to him in a vain attempt to mask how intimidated he really was. Miles moved Y/n behind him. She watched the standoff silently, keeping a hand on Miles’ bicep in case it went south. She’s your girl, Morales?
Miles tilted his head, sneering down at the posturing fool. “Sí, ella es mía. Ahora déjala.” Yeah, she’s mine. Now leave her alone.
“No estaba tratando de hacer nada,” Eric scoffed. He turned his attention back to the pretty girl hidden behind Miles. “If you get tired of this asshole, come find me.” I wasn’t trying to do nothing.
Miles lunged, thankfully, with some supernatural girlfriend sense, Y/n was quicker and held him back. Eric flinched, his fear visible for that split second. Heads turned. “You need to calm down, Miles.” Her hand made its way into his, gently pulling him away. He backed away, never breaking his cold glare from Eric.
Together they left the party. Miles muttered curses in Spanish Y/n couldn’t catch as he stomped down the stairs. “Miles! Miles, baby, slow down!” She called his name again. “You not ‘bout to make me run after you in these shoes!” He stopped. His jaw was tight, eyebrows set low on his face, hands burrowed in his pockets to hide his balled up fists. Damn. Even seething he was gorgeous. “We talked about this. You gotta talk to me.”
He was silent for a few moments, he merely stared down at Y/n as she wrapped her arms around his middle. His heart pounded in his chest. (It was because of her. Miles refused to admit those lustrous eyes and her touch still had such an effect on him) “Ian like seein’ you wit him. Shit pissed me off. For a minute I thought…” She fixed his collar, avoiding his gaze to keep herself from smiling. “Nothin’.” Miles was jealous and willing to protect her by any means necessary.
Y/n heard the words left unspoken. Miles was a fortress locked up tight to keep the outside world out. But behind his many walls he was a boy with feelings and insecurities. “Miles, I’d never do that. I like you too much.”
“Yeah, I know, ma. Sorry for gettin’ all upset.”
“‘S fine. That’s not what I’m mad about.” She eyed the fresh bruises coloring his cheek and temple. “Where were you?” At this point, she was more concerned than angry. Miles wasn’t inclined to long conversations, but he was decent enough to send her a text. Although dry and vague it was something. Y/n would take what she could get.
Miles stiffened in her embrace. “I had to take care of some stuff. Don’t worry ‘bout it. Lemme make it up to you.”
“You owe me a dance.” Prying it out of him would get her nowhere. She decided to let it go. Just this once.
“A dance?” he asked. She grinned, happy to catch him off guard for once.
Y/n nodded. “Mrs. Morales told me you’re a wonderful dancer. Don’t be holdin’ out on me.”
His sigh was long and deep, directed towards the ceiling of the narrow hallway. Miles was in no place to refuse. He took her hand and started walking. “Alright, but we not goin’ to the roof.”
He led her to his grandma’s apartment. It was sizable and definitely decorated by an elderly woman. Y/n admired the photos sitting on the mantle. There was Rio and Jefferson Davis, dressed in white for their wedding day. She paused on a picture of an infant covered in paint, smiling from ear to ear with two teeth. She awed at Miles. He was so cute, so carefree without the shadows of the world dragging behind him.
“Ven aquí, mami.” He stood in the middle of the living room, hands outstretched, a song playing behind him from his phone. She peeked at the song as they joined hands. Come here, mami.
“Eres Mía” by Romeo Santos.
The song was unfamiliar to her. “What? You thought you was gonna to twerk and grind on me?” His low chuckle sent shivers through her. She didn’t answer. “Nah. We gon dance for real. Bachata.”
“Wait, Miles. I don’t how to—”
“Imma teach you. Two steps to the music. Thas all it is,” he showed her. Y/n mimicked him, each step hesitant and unsure, but Miles was encouraging and a surprisingly good teacher. “See? Easy.”
He raised his arms to spin her around and brought her closer. Y/n faltered. “Aye, come on, mami. I know you can move your hips better than that.” He repositioned, hands at her back and waist, his thigh between her legs, ruffling her skirt. Miles guided her across the floor, his fingers wandering to the trim of her cami, drawing a distracting trail of heat on her bare skin. Her own hands found their way to his nape, brushing his twin braids as they swayed to the beat. Soon she found her rhythm.
“There you go,” he praised, rolling his hips into hers. She followed. Her body trusted him. She trusted him wholeheartedly and fell into his lead.
They rocked together in silence, the song having long since ended. Miles nestled in the crook of her neck to breathe in the sweet scent of her perfume. “Thank you for helping me. I should have said so earlier,” Y/n said from above him.
“It’s my job, princesa.” Miles left the softness of her neck. “Eres mía.” You are mine. Y/n blinked while he returned to her warmth. She hoped he didn’t feel the way her temperature rose.
In three short months he made a place for himself in her life. He was the most unexpected surprise. She had a list of the ideal boyfriend and Miles Morales didn’t check off a single one. Yet everything never felt more perfect than in his arms, dancing to the distant sirens and traffic.
His phone buzzed from the end table. “Is that your mom?” He shrugged in response. “We should go.” Y/n suggested, but Miles’ grip only tightened.
“One more minute. They can wait.”

So we know from tyt that Will, Nico, and Leo have tattoos of varying designs, however, do any other characters have tattoos? And if no, what would they want to get a tattoo of? Like how Piper was talking about how she wished she could get one but couldn’t because of Jane.
I feel like Apollo, if he were to ever get a tattoo, to get like his kids’ initials or like their birthdays or some other important date tattooed. And they’d also be somewhat hidden, like behind his ear, on/right above his hipbone, or somewhere else that one wouldn’t necessarily see. And this just came to me but I think he’d also get a tattoo of someone’s handwriting, what would they say? Depends if we’re talking about his kids or Darren lol.
But I could see Percy and Annabeth getting some sort of matching symbol instead, like a little pair of waves or even like a cheesy half a heart that connects when they put their forearms next to each other. Percy would probably even contemplate tattooing Annabeth’s name but I think she’d try and talk him out of it.
For Piper I’d probably say butterflies, but that’s just me projecting because I’d want butterflies, I feel like she’d maybe get a seashell for Shell. And she’d totally not be afraid to flaunt it once she’s able to. Jason would get a little lightning bolt with Thalia, or he’d get like an inspirational quote to hype himself up if he doesn’t feel too confident in his work. Like “Never back down never what? Never give up!” But in Leo and Piper’s handwriting.
Austin, to me, just doesn’t seem like the kind of person to want to get a tattoo and I imagine Kayla to be like afraid of needles 😭😭 So I think them and Will would get like, a matching piercing instead so it’s quick and they don’t have to figure out what design they can all agree on. Or they’d get a funny t-shirt with each other’s faces printed on it or something lmao. Or even better for national sibling day they’d all get matching nails and Apollo would gush about how much he loves them all <3
ahhdsf YES omg they definitely do!! i haven't actually thought of specific hc's for most of them, but i lovee these ideas
for apollo, i think i mentioned in the tattoo chapter that he had like six stick-and-pokes? or seven? i can't remember, but he's definitely had a few done non-professionally back in his teen years/early twenties that didn't really have any significance to him. i LOVE the idea of him getting some more eventually to represent his kids (both his biological ones and the ones he's casually adopted)
And this just came to me but I think he’d also get a tattoo of someone’s handwriting, what would they say?
oooh, i think he would be the type of person to get a lyric on him, whether that's one of his own or another song that really resonated with him. either that or he'd get three little suns drawn by his kids, each in different styles/how they like them, and maybe their names in their handwriting as well!
percy and annabeth would ABSOLUTELY get matching tattoos, i think in any universe. it'd be funny if they also related it back to the tv show where they met, and got something poseidon/athena related to match their characters, so it's for themselves and their relationship, but also one of the big milestones of their careers!
i think piper would LOVE butterfly tattoos, she also seems like the person to just want to get a bunch of small ones. some of them have a lot of meaning to her (probably one to represent her dad, definitely one for jason and her other friends, and maybe an inspirational quote), and some of them are just random! her freedom is very important to her and so she enjoys just being able to do what she likes with her appearance
i feel like jason would wait a longgg time before getting a tattoo, and then it would definitely be something to commemorate/remember thalia by. i'm not sure if it'd be a lightning bolt, just because it doesn't really have any significance to her as a person in this au, but he might get either thalia's signature, or something related to the muse thalia because he's a mythology nerd!
kayla and austin are spot onLKJSDF i never thought about it but i can just imagine kayla being fucking TERRIFIED of needles and absolutely hating getting her flu shots and stuff, and will is just like, your literal job is archery, which is just like a bigger needle?? why are you so scared of them?? and kayla just glares
Or they’d get a funny t-shirt with each other’s faces printed on it or something lmao
YES YES YES THEY WOULD. they definitely have matching tee-shirts. i bet they also have like heroes of olympus merch that says cabin 7 to play on the children of "apollo" pun

If you are looking to ramble about Disaster Prone Teenagers, I’d love to know what both of their families look like in this AU?
Like for instance- does this mean that Eddie has oldest sister problems? Is she roped into babysitting her baby sisters all the time? Is most of their family still in Texas? Does her dad travel back and forth? Did he even make it to her quinceañera?
Assuming Buck’s home life is similar, what about the Maddie-and-Doug situation? Is Maddie perhaps keeping her sister at more of an arms length, more afraid of what Doug might do if Buck were to run her mouth around him? Does Buck still have a motorbike at that age that she rides around like a jackass? Does she have the exact same haircut?
My Most Beloved Mutual Readwing I am kissing you on the mouth I love you SO much for this ask. Their family situation is one of the main things that I am rotating in my brain constantly since I first came up with this AU a few months ago.
We'll start with Eddie, because I love her a lot and she means everything to me. Eddie's family, her mom, dad and two sisters are all still in El Paso. She moved to LA for what was supposed to be one summer after a Traumatic Event that is a whole post on its own to live with tia pepa and her abuela and then she just... never went back?
She has that Eldest Daughter Syndrome where she'd been raising her sisters since she was barely in double digits and moving to LA was the first time she really got to just be a teenager without the burden of being the second parent while her dad was busy with work. The deal was always that she would go back to El Paso eventually, but the more time she spends away the less she wants to go back. She definitely has a lot of guilt about it, because she feels like she's abandoning her sisters, and her parents don't really help with that because they want her home regardless of the fact she's happier in LA.
As for the Quinceanẽra, after a brief amount of research I have discovered that around the time the Traumatic Event took place would have been when she was supposed to be having it, so there's some fun angst potential there where I think Eddie ended up missing out on that milestone. There's also some solid potential for a hurt/comfort fic where she finally gets to have it, just a little later than normal, but I would have to do more research into it before writing anything like that since I'm not that well versed in the cultural significance of Quinceanẽras. Clipboard Buck helping her best friend plan her Quinceanẽra is a very fun potential fic in the verse though.
And Buck, oh the Buck of it all. Buck's family life is actually a lot different in this AU, unlike Eddie's whose is mostly the same just adjusted for teen angst instead of grown up angst, mainly because Daniel lived in this AU. At least until Buck was about 14.
It changes everything and nothing at the exact same time. Buck grows up being constantly micromanaged, not because her parents are worried about her, but because they don't want something to happen to her in case Daniel needs her. Daniel, being a reasonable person, thinks this is absolutely insane and does his best alongside Maddie to give Buck a semi regular childhood despite the pair of them having their own issues with their parents. Then, Maddie meets Doug, and it's just Daniel helping keep Buck afloat in their house.
When Daniel is 22, and Buck is 14, he goes into kidney failure. He doesn't survive, and their parents blame Buck, who refused to donate one of her kidneys too him. The first time Maddie sees Buck since she moved to Boston with Doug at 19 is at Daniels funeral.
Maddie and Doug move back to Hershey after Daniel dies. Things get steadily worse over the next year, Doug proposes to Maddie and they get engaged at the same time Doug becomes more outwardly abusive, the Buckley parents become steadily more neglectful of Buck in their grief over Daniel, which leads to Buck spending more time with Maddie in order to get away from them. which opens the door for two things. Buck sees how terrible Doug is to Maddie, and Maddie sees how terrible their parents are to Buck. This culminates in the two of them running away to LA together the night of Maddie and Dougs rehearsal dinner, after Maddie sees Doug get violent with Buck, because while I don't think she would be ready to leave for herself, I think she would for her baby sister.
As for Bucks hair I genuinely have,,, so many thoughts about it. I think Buck is a very stereotypical pretty, feminine cheerleader archtype. She's got this long, curly blonde hair that has always been at least mid back length since she was 10 years old, which is why when she chops most of it off during a Dramatic Moment and gives herself the classic bisexual bob it's a major deal for everybody involved. Which is in itself it's own fic about self image and expectations ect ect that I can and will get into eventually.

Hi there can I ask for a reading? How will My future spouse court me? I am interested in men and my pronouns are she/her
Mg 🖤
Hey Mg🖤
Thank you for asking!
Onto your reading~
The oracle cards that came for you are:
Molasses: To move forward you must know where you are headed.
Tobacco: Feed your ancestors, raise the sacred smoke to them, for they are hungry to connect.
Now, ofcourse the meaning of the cards isn't taken literally BUT the molasses card sort of signifies a stagnant time in your life where spirit is telling you to sort of take a step in some direction ANY direction. I know you asked how he'll court you but I guess cards have given me the circumstances you'll be in when he courts you. There is a lil hint in the tarot cards I'll come to that in a second but yeah, the courting is a surprise for you🥰
Okay coming back to the cards, it might be like you've been sitting for a while, maybe hermiting even. Maybe once you step out of it then you two may meet.
BUT,
Wait for it.
There might be some sort of family celebration which will pull you out of the stagnation. Family celebration came for the ancestor card and yes it might talk about the ones in the spirit world but it definitely feels like you have some sort of a family celebration, and if I want to take the ancestor in consideration it might be a grandparent's birthday or anniversary and ya know thats a significant milestone and it's a big ass celebration. And these are the sort of parties where you see a cute guy who's a distant relative or a family friend or maybe just some random guy at the party and think "Oh he's cute, wonder if I'll see him again after this."
WELL looks like you'll be seeing alot of him. And I mean. A lot.
Let's clear this up with tarot cards~
8 of wands, 4 of wands, 9 of wands, Knight of Pentacles, The Devil, Ace of Cups, The Lovers, The Tower
This is so new I absolutely love it!!
[Okay so a lil background, I once asked my cards what I should manifest and they gave the 8 of wands and....they basically meant....you know adult stuff. So now by default I take the card as adult stuff.]
You both might feel that sexual tension when you see each other or are close to each other.
And I felt a celebration is there which I believe got clarified by the 4 of wands. You might feel a bit skeptical about this, because you know, you guys just met and the sexual tension is off the charts with the Devil here.
I think you being skeptical isn't gonna last all that long with the charming persona of your person🤭 with the Knight of pentacles I feel he is not really beating around the bush and he's being very upfront about everything but in a very, um sorta charming and elegant manner. I completely forgot to mention but I just remembered, the whole family celebration thing was giving me heavy Bridgerton vibes.
1:43 on my clock, I take it as an "I love you".
See straightforward, told ya😌
Haha okay moving on, your Prince Charming is very, I can see the vibes but Im having a hard time describing it. It's very regal sorta, very elegant like I mentioned before, he knows what he wants but not in an overly assertive way which would make you feel uncomfortable. He'll be very considerate of you and how you feel so you can take your time being skeptical still if you want~
Love the Ace of Cups and the Lovers here!!!! Hmm he might be very emotionally intelligent as well so you'll have open and direct communication at all times regarding all of your needs, which fits perfectly with the lovers.
The ending is a Tower, which makes me sorta feel like people outside of you are not able to see or understand your dynamics. Considering if all of this happens during the family event then of course your relatives will notice and they might feel a bit concerned for you or even your friends might tell you to be careful considering you just met and sparks flew across galaxies. I hope its all well intended and you'll convince them in no time🥰
That's all I have for you today, thankyou so much for asking. I enjoyed doing your reading🎀

Limousine for a Quinceañera: Making Your Day Memorable
Turning 15 is one of the most important milestones for a young lady. It is a time when she will begin to make that transformation from being a little girl to growing into a woman. With much detailed work, even the minor thing related to the Quinceañera is taken care of. The dress, the venue, the guest list, and certainly the means of transportation—and here is where a Limousine for a Quinceañera comes into place. A limousine can enhance your Quinceañera, really making your special day that much more special with a touch of elegance and class.
Tumblr media
Why a Limousine for a Quinceañera?
Elegance and Prestige: The day is about the guest of honor being made to feel like royalty on her Quinceañera, and the best way for a grand entrance is in a limousine. The sleek, luxurious design of a limousine adds a level of sophistication that complements the formality and significance of the event.
Comfort and Space: Limousines are roomy, thus offering ample space for the Quinceañera and her damas and chambelanes. Everyone can ride in style, being comfortable and not crowded, on the way to the church, photo shoot locations, and the reception area. This can make for a fun part of the ride.
Professional and Dependable Service: One thing that's for sure with a limousine rental is the professional service. Experienced chauffeurs have to undergo training that ensures a tension-free experience, getting one to their various destinations on time. This helps the Quinceañera and her family to focus their attention on the events of the day, rather than on the transportation logistics.
Luxury amenities: Modern-day limousines are replete with a wide range of different luxury amenities, from state-of-the-art sound to mood lighting and refreshments. These only serve to make the ride to and from even more exciting, creating an event in itself. You may enjoy listening to your favorite songs or simply take quiet moments before the celebration begins; a limousine sets up the right surroundings.
Photo Opportunities: The limousine is not only transportation; it can be a great photographic backdrop. Whether the Quinceañera steps out of the limo or with her court, the limousine adds elegance to each photo taken. These photos are cherished memories that capture the magic of the day.
Personalized: Most limousine services offer the chance to change the vehicle according to the theme or colors of the Quinceañera. From inside above decorations to exteriors decorated according to your ideas, this means the ideas now will truly be your own—the idea that each detail of your special day is just the way you pictured it.
Making Memories: The Quinceañera is a once-in-a-lifetime event and should be as memorable in every part of the day. Riding in a limousine provides an extra special sense of occasion and fun to make it all the more extraordinary. A memory with close friends and family traveling together in style will be remembered for a long time.
Tumblr media
How to Choose the Right Limousine Service
Check Reviews and Testimonials: Look out for limousine service providers in your locality and see the reviews left by past clients. It gives you an estimate of the quality and type of experience to expect from the company.
Early Booking: Quinceañeras are among the most in-demand events; thus, limousine services tend to book early especially during high seasons. This means that you want to book your limousine several months before just to make sure that, first, your service provider is available.
In-Person Limousine Visit: When it's possible, take a physical trip to where the limousine you hope to use is and get to ensure it's proper in shape for the role it's going to play at your Quinceañera. You'd definitely want to get a look at how clean, comfortable, and suitably fitted with the amenities it is for your Quinceañera.
Discuss Itinerary With your limousine service, give the proper rundown of your itinerary: times for pickup and drop-off times, all other needs you may have. This, for sure, will give a clear platform for all to run smoothly.
Conclusion
Indeed a Quinceañera, by itself, should be celebrated in style; add a limousine to the ambiance, and the occasion is taken to an even classier and more elegant level. From making the perfect entrance to the comfortable, enjoyable ride, picking a limousine for your Quinceañera makes certain that your day is as special as you have always dreamed. With professional service, high-class amenities, and the ability to design lifelong memories, a limousine is more than just a traveling amenity; it becomes part of the celebration.

Just noticing...
usually people think of men being the neglectful, selfish ones and women being the caring, selfless ones.
but if social media is a window into what a person values or the person they choose to show to the world this is what i've seen. idk if this is true outside of what i see but here it is...
if you look at the social media profiles and content for both men and women, they tend to fall under two types: 1) it's snapshots of important things/events their own life or 2) they have a certain niche or theme that they post about
in this case, i'm talking about the first type where the social media profile and content is the snapshots of important things/events in their own life.
what i've noticed about men's profiles is they are either not regularly updated or if they are regularly updated it's a pretty random mix of food, cool sightings, family milestones, accolades, etc. if they do have a woman in their life, the pictures men post are almost always with either the woman or both of them in the foreground. if they have a family, their posts will almost always be of the whole family or something to highlight something one of their kids did. they will rarely post a selfie and rarely post photos of just him with the kids without his woman.
and for women, it's almost always very step-by-step:
first, it's a lot of selfies during their single life especially if they feel pretty, the graduate, get promoted, or celebrate a birthday.
second step, when they aren't single it's a lot of posing pictures of them and their significant other or of them out on a date or a vacation somewhere. once in awhile, the post is a glamour shot of just her man. and every other day there's still a healthy dose of their usual selfie.
third step, they get married. of course there will be pics of this. and every year afterward, if they are still married, the world of social media will see the same few professional pics of their wedding day again. usually the pictures that she likes are of her as the focus looking glamorously at the camera while her man is in the background embracing her. (if they don't get married, you will see a constant repeat of step 2 except each time everything of the previous guy will get deleted and replaced by similar stuff with a next guy). and yes, they will will post their now weekly to bi-weekly selfie.
fourth step, she has kids. so now most pics are involving her kids. and interestingly enough, a lot of the time, the pics are of the kids and her or just the kids... but the man is often not in the pics anymore. i find that interesting. it seems almost like, well you served your purpose, so onto the next thing rather than a more holistic embrace of what life has given the woman. oh and of course, the selfie... most of time there is a drop off in frequency, but even though her social media self has forgotten about her man, she hasn't forgotten about herself.
maybe i'm judging... but i'm definitely noticing that women might not be as selfless as we think. and that men cherish their woman and kids more than we might think.
and if one is lucky enough to be with a woman that is active on social media that doesn't exhibit the typical step-by-step selfish progression... he's found himself a real gem.

Thea thought back to when she reopened and how many doubts she'd had. "I'd say that a lot of the people that worked there under my grandpa wanted to give me well meaning advice, and sometimes I appreciated it, but other times I felt like they wanted it to be like what it once was. And I just couldn't promise that it would ever be the same without him." She admits knowing it was a little different of a situation than what Ver was in. "I think you kind of have to take in what is being told to you and take out what is helpful gems and what is just trash advice." Thea said shrugging as she made a perfect bite for herself. She smiled at the compliment always enjoying it when someone liked her speakeasy. "It would be fun but definitely a challenge I'm not sure I'd say I want."
Verda's point could be true but it still just wasn't her thing. "Well I'm thirty-three this year, so it's really not a milestone or anything." Thea shares not really feeling like people really talked about this birthday having any significance. There were a few times in Thea's life where things had felt like it was hard to get over, but in the end she got over them and she knew things ending was for the best. But maybe the same couldn't be said for the woman across from her. "I mean no I get hard breakups. Like sometimes it's not that you don't love them, but it's because you love them you know that they deserve better and you deserve better." She didn't know if that was what Ver was saying but she'd felt that way before. "It's really not a fun feeling, but I feel like over time it just gets better?" Thea was well aware how lame that sounded, and wasn't trying to be like one of those stupid commercials, but it was the best she could come up with at the moment.
Tumblr media
She recalled briefly how an old friend of hers had given her tips on making the bakery more accessible. With the help of said friend, she'd made small additions that never would have crossed her mind without a word of advice being shot her way. "When you first opened up the bar... did you have a lot of people trying to tell you how to run the place?" The bakery had been an interesting feat to say the least. She was the only Turkish bakery in the city, just like Thea was the only speakeasy. They had something, polar opposites of one another, all the same in beneath the surface ways. Local owners looking to make a push to keep things, well, local. She might not have been a Providence Peak lifer, but she didn't see herself rolling out anytime soon. "Makes sense. Why fix it if it's not broken? Personally, I think it's one of my favorite spots in the city." It was quieter by comparison to other bars, plus, she always liked to see a smiling Thea behind the bar.
"Depending on the birthday, you should. I regret not doing more for my thirtieth." Looking back on the year before, there were too many things she had to regret. Moving forward, she didn't want that being the case. Her past two relationships, as serious as she liked to believe they were, had ended for the sameish reasons. The only difference being that she'd ended things with Yao before having the chance to ruin him in the way she had Derek. Now, she settled for good times beneath or atop whomever was willing to play with fire. No strings, she'd promised herself. No freaking strings. "It is. And honestly... getting over old relationships can be hard too. I don't know if it's just me, but," she trailed, smile breaking as shoulders lifted in a lazy shrug. "It's probably just me."

Camera Roll Challenge: Dating Jean Kirschtein
I dunno what it is about Jean but this man reads hopeless romantic to me. Maybe the whole being an artist thing. Especially when he's older. Breakfast in bed just cause you deserve it. Probably did the thing where he wrote letters to his future self to open at certain life milestones. Some of them are to his future significant other. When they get engaged. When they get married. When they've been together 5, 10, 15, etc years.
It's something he keeps up with as he gets older too. So they aren't always just from his super younger self. Maybe he wrote one to his future partner in high school then after going through lots of growth and experiences he decides to write another one to that same person. It'd be really interesting to read how much he changed in-between those years. I think he'd also make ones for partners that are like, what I was thinking in the moments before our first kiss. when I knew I'd fallen in love with you. other ways I thought of proposing. (Man, I'm so smitten for this man, I can't believe out of everyone I'm writing the most in depth for him. lol)
I don't know if he ever reaches the smooth or suave level when flirting or asking folks out --tho he thinks he has lol. He's so corny but it's really sweet and cute. Probably continues to use ridiculous pickup lines on people as a way to break the ice.
He can dance-thanks to Connie! He's a got pretty good rhythm and is a quick learner when someone takes the time with him. So thanks to his bestie Jean can salsa, batchata and merengue. He's always up for going out dancing and would take the time to teach his partner. Along with that, he's also the type of person that feels a big urge to wine and dine his partner and take them out on regular dates no matter how long they've been together.
Also the dancing wouldn't just be when yall are out on the town. Saturday morning cleaning days often lead to some kind of dancing and sometimes dance-off shenanigans. Depending on the music selection.
Like Bertholdt, I can really picture Jean being into theatre. Though, unlike Bertie, he very much thrives being the center of attention on stage. Related to the hopeless romantic thing, I can see him memorizing monologs, sonnets and poetry to recite to his partner.
Also, while there is that one OVA of him being a lil shit to his mom, I feel like once he gets over that teen "too cool for my mom" era he's a great son. His mom is so accepting of you and the first time you come for dinner she's totally the stereotypical mom who breaks out baby photos of her Jeanbo! I feel like she'd be such a great mother-in-law and is just so thrilled that Jean found someone to give his heart to.

A few photo thoughts below the cut :)
Top middle: Random morning with him bringing you breakfast in bed. And then also cleaning up the dishes afterward! Definitive husband material right here. (not that the bar should be that low but it's a green check) And you can't help but wanna catch a photo of those pretty legs of his as he's heading out.
Middle left: Okay I can't make a Jean post without bringing up horses. lol I feel like he grew up in the burbs and never really interacted much with them. But being besties with Sasha he ends up tagging along with her and Connie when she starts learning to ride from friends at the Ren Faire she works at in high school. Also, can you imagine how dreamy this man would look dressed up as a knight? Then waxing on poetically about how much he's in love with you? Corny as hell but my heart would definitely be doin flips.
Middle center: Why did he take a picture of himself pretending to sleep and send it to you?? Who knows with this boy. But at least he's cute. And he does seem real snuggleable.
Middle left: Booooooooooooooooy. I don't know bout yall but this photo got me feelin some type of way. Not just the tongue but the beanie and the earring too. 😮‍💨 Just feels like our boy's whole vibe in a nutshell.

👀 PLease tell us your thoughts about the Jedi babies re-growing up among different cultural contexts.
Oh fuck okay
Context: original post, chrono The specific post this ask is referencing: here
Summary of the AU: Disaster lineage got tossed back in time. Anakin stayed 21-ish, but Obi-Wan and Ahsoka got deaged, took new names for time-travel reasons (Ylliben and Sokanth, or Ben and Soka), are now staying with the True Mandalorians under Jaster Mereel because the Force said to, go back to the Temple after about a decade. They grabbed Shmi about three months after arriving.
So as far as the cultural background goes, Obi-Wan and Ahsoka had similar upbringings. She spent a few years on Shili first, but both spent the majority of their childhoods up to age 13/14 being raised in the creche. So that's the basis that they would default to, in a vacuum.
Nobody is raised in a vacuum.
Along with the Jedi cultural background, they're being raised by Tatooine natives in a Mandalorian environment.
Shmi and Anakin are both former slaves who have desert survival baked into their bones. The longer Anakin spends around her, the more his accent slips, the more he talks about old folktales, the more he uses idioms that don't exist on a cityplanet like Coruscant. All the things that he tamped down to be a Jedi come floating back to the surface, and Shmi's never known anything else. Anakin's knowledge of slave customs make her feel more comfortable, which in turn makes him feel better, and so on.
Mandalore is just... the culture they're living in. You don't grow up in a new culture with a new language without picking up on it personally. (Source: I moved to the US when I was a little under two years old.)
I think the thing I'm going to focus on as an example is the way each of these cultures approaches family, and then maybe how they approach the keeping of peace/what peace means.
Jedi: Where you come from means little, only the legacy you leave behind in your students. Mandalore: You protect your clan and your children; adoption is a major cultural value, if not actually practiced consistently. Tatooine: You can lose your family at any time, so you value what you have in all its forms. You don’t forget where and who you came from, to family of blood and family of choice alike. You cling to your memories and what little you still have of them, to what your master cannot take away.
These are all valid ways to approach family, and each of these approaches can have significant meaning to different people. But they do all, to a certain degree, conflict with one another, despite all three being fairly communal cultures.
The Jedi have a culture, one that’s built on a shared ability and religion over thousands of years. It’s not just an organization, but a continuous community with legends and traditions and art and records. But it’s one that is built on new blood coming in from the outside, volunteers who join because the religion speaks to them (near literally, given the nature of Force Sensitivity), given up by families who couldn’t or wouldn’t teach them in a way that let their talents flourish instead of pushing it all down.
For the Jedi, a culture built on people coming together due to something they have in common intrinsically that their families of blood do not, it makes sense to put emphasis on letting go of that past when they can, and to place importance on teaching lineages. It’s not just the official master-padawan pairs, either, but that’s the most obvious and easily paralleled element. Moreover, a lot of the Jedi culture is about gaining knowledge, so obviously spreading it is good, and also on supporting the galaxy to make it a better place; to view the Jedi order as a heavily communal culture would make sense, since their values are all about selfless betterment of the universe, which on a larger scale is about the galactic conflicts, but on a smaller scale is about supporting their own community, the children and the ill and elderly.
So that is the specific culture that Obi-Wan and Ahsoka grew up in, one that holds blood family as relevant but not particularly crucial to one’s identity, but is structured so people leave behind legacies through education in a manner that often becomes adoptive family (depending on your definition, I guess). Jedi are encouraged to connect to their home cultures, if not their families, with practices like the coming of age hunt for Togruta leading to the young Jedi taking a trip out to Shili to engage in that cultural milestone. This can also be viewed as a way for the Jedi to maintain personal connections to the wider universe, a (not entirely successful, but certainly attempted) way of keeping them from becoming too isolated and insular from the universe at large, and losing touch from what the galaxy actually needs of them.
They’re now growing up with two cultures that do place emphasis on blood and found family.
Mandalore, as presented in The Mandalorian, has their traditional values set as being heavily associated with their armor, battle skills, and childcare. While that’s clearly a set of values that aren’t actually followed by everyone with full sincerity, we can assume that these stated cultural values do have at least some impact on the way the society is structured, since we do see more traditional characters (Jaster, Din) adopt orphaned children and then have the Mandalorian elements of their immediate circles support that claim.
(We’ll ignore Jango and the whole clone army thing because the amount of Sith influence is up for debate and also holy trauma, Batman.)
However, we also see that a lot of Mandalorian culture is built on their family histories. On the New Mandalorian side, we see emphasis placed on the fact that Satine is House Kryze and that she’s a duchess. Her bloodline is relevant, though not the most important thing about her. On the Death Watch side, we have Pre and Tor placing emphasis on the fact that they’re Clan Vizsla, descended from Tarre, that this is important to why they deserve what the darksaber represents, this is part of why they not only deserve to lead, but should for the good of Mandalore.
Bo-Katan’s armor is a family heirloom. Boba’s armor was Jango’s, but before being Jango’s, it was Jaster’s. Armor is important enough to pass to family, but the family can be adopted. This all tracks.
The resol’nare specifies loyalty and care for the clan/tribe among the six tenets.
These two elements seem relatively well-balanced: the importance of adoption and the importance of family as a larger unit on the level of a house or clan.
And then you have Tatooine, which also balances blood and adoption, but for entirely different reasons, that being this: it can always be taken from you.
For all that a Mandalorian could historically expect their family to die in battle, and a Jedi could expect to lose their master the same way if things went poorly, those were usually choices. A Mandalorian was raised to walk into battle, and then they could make that choice to do so. It wasn’t often much of a choice, but they could feasibly turn their back and choose to be a farmer or a doctor or something, and support the people who went out to do battle instead of being the one on the field themselves. A Jedi could choose to be a healer or an archivist or join one of the Corps.
A slave does not get that choice. A slave can be killed or sold on a whim from their master. It’s not a one-time trauma, but an ever-present fear. Your parent, your child, your sibling, your spouse, all of them can be separated from you at any time. You can always lose them, and you have no choice but to grin and bear it, or try to run and die before you reach freedom.
In a context like that, I imagine Tatooine places a very heavy emphasis on family, both of blood and of choice, and on treasuring what you have while you have it. A person is always aware that they can lose whoever they have in their life, and so they make the most of their times together, have clear and consistent ways of expressing that love (I imagine primarily direct verbal confirmations and physical contact, practical gifts like water and fruit). Childcare is important, elders are venerated. Those who survived that far have valuable wisdom, and the children are to be given what happiness they can have before reality wipes that ability from them.
The family ‘networks’ among Tatooine slaves are smaller and tighter knit. There’s less trust for outsiders, but once you’re in, you’re in until you are taken away. Still, families are torn apart regularly, and often can’t contact each other after being separated if they’re sold far enough away, so families stay small because they’re always being broken up. Unlike Mandalore’s tribe/clan system, or the Jedi’s wide, loosely-structured community, Tatooine’s slaves form smaller groups that cling for as long as they can, and try to support each other. (There are selfish ones, of course, especially the newbies, but... well. Most try.)
Tatooine is also much more likely to assign a familial role (e.g. referring to an elder as ‘grandmother’). It’s not uncommon in the others (multiple Jedi refer to their masters as a parent or sibling, like Anakin’s “you’re like a father to me” line), but it’s not as baked-in that such a role should be given.
So on a structural level, we have two people from a community culture with little emphasis on blood family or formal familial roles are now being raised in a community that has them asking “what can you do for the people around you first, and then the wider world?” by people who tell them “your family, blood and found, is the most important thing you have; never let anyone take more from you than they possibly can.”
And that shit has an effect.
For all that Sokanth and Ylliben were once raised with a knowledge that their duty, their goal, was to better the galaxy as a whole, they are now being told that the community that raises them asks their loyalty back, because societies are built on support networks, and if you support the tribe, it will support you. There are parallels to that kind of thinking among Jedi, because it is basic social theory, but it’s not presented as the same kind of cultural value. It’s not given as something to strive for, just a basic fact.
This, for instance, means that once they’re back at the Temple, they have a tendency towards suggesting study groups and other ways of supporting people in their immediate circle, often structured in very unfamiliar ways. Again, this isn’t uncommon among Jedi, but it’s not done in the same way, or with the same emphasis. The Jedi also often approach problem-solving in a different order, so the step of “meditate on it and you may find your solution” often comes before “gather information from people who know more about it than you do,” while Ben and Soka have by this point learned to do it the other way around, because that’s what the Mandalorian system taught them: rely on your family first.
Meanwhile, the Tatooine element of their upbringing has them being much more willing to just... casually refer to ‘my dad’ and ‘my sister’ and so on. They use those words. It’s not just “my master is like a father to me,” but “this is my father.” They don’t hesitate to talk about the family they had and still have in Mandalorian space. None of the Jedi begrudge them it, really, but it’s always a shock to hear for the first time, and between the Tatooine refusal to pretend the connection is gone and the Mandalorian tendency to err on the side of roughhousing as affection, they’re just... odd. It’s not like none of the other Jedi know family outside the Order--some of the old books had Obi-Wan visiting his brother on Stewjon once in a while--or like none of the active Jedi are loud or boisterous, but the specific manner in which Soka and Ben interact with the Order, especially when their dad is around, is very weird.
More Soka than Ben, really, but that’s mostly just because Ben’s a very quiet person until he gets a little older, so it’s harder to notice on him.
Point is, while they still hold to their duty to the wider galaxy and will continue to keep that duty above almost anything else in their lives, the way they talk and act about the subject of family, especially in private, is heavily influenced by their new cultures.
This is already very long but I promised I’d talk about peace so let’s go:
The Jedi seek peace as an absence of war and conflict in the portion of the galaxy under their purview, in hopes that they will prevent as much suffering and death as they can.
The Mandalorians are varied, but Jaster Mereel’s group (which is the community the Skywalkers are with) is likely to view peace as unrealistic to achieve in the long term. They do not seek war, but they know the world they live in, and are prepared to protect against violence as their first resort. They always expect an attack, even if they don’t seek it.
The Slaves of Tatooine view peace as the calm in a storm. It is the status quo. Nobody has escaped tonight, for the guards aren’t searching, but neither is anyone dead. The Master you have is in a good enough mood to not sell you, to not kill you, to not beat you. Peace as an absence of suffering is impossible, so you seek for your master to be peaceful, that is to say: not raging at you.
The scope of each of these narrows significantly. From the known galaxy, to the wars that meet Mandalorian space, to the household one serves.
A community like the Jedi can choose to address peace as something to be sought on a large scale as an absence of war. They primarily function within the borders of the Republic, which has its problems but is largely structured to prevent such things from occurring until the Sith interfere. The Jedi have a structure that allows them to address peace as an ideal to be sought, at least within the borders of the territory they serve.
Mandalore, meanwhile, has been at war on and off for... ever. When they are not at war with themselves, they’re at war with someone else. ‘Peace’ is just the time between wars, and they know that if they do not attack first, they will be forced to defend. Jaster Mereel was known as the Reformer, and part of that was that instituting a code of honor, one that was intended to prevent Mandalorian warriors from acting as raiders and brigands, but rather acting as honorable hired soldiers, or taking roles such as the Journeyman Protectors. Given that, I imagine that he views war as something inevitable, but also something that can be mitigated.
War doesn’t touch Tatooine.
Oh, it might raise taxes and import rates. It might prevent visitors who come for the races. It can do a lot of things.
But to a slave, these are nothing. The only thing war does is affect the master, the person who chooses when their slaves get water, when they get beaten, when they are no longer useful enough to keep around or keep alive.
The peace of a slave’s live is dictated by how much abuse they are subjected to by the person who owns them.
What this means for Soka and Ben is... well, they are viewed as war-hungry by the people who don’t know them very well. They have armor. They focus on fighting, both with and without their sabers. They know tactics better than most masters. They claim that war is coming, and don’t seem too sad about it.
(It is a fact to them. War will come. All they can do is meet it. They’ve already done their mourning once.)
They also... well, Shmi tells them things in hidden corners. How to duck their head to hide the hate or fear in their eyes. How to watch for the anger in the tendons of a hand. The laugh of someone who enjoys the pain they’ve caused, not just the adrenaline of a fight. She is free, and so are they, but she has not forgotten how to hide in the shadows until the master’s ire has turned elsewhere. How to be small and quiet and unseen until the danger passes.
A Jedi’s first resort is words. Their second is their saber. But the Jeedai hold their heads high, and the Mandalorians do the same.
“You rely on the Force, and you have your pride,” she tells them, her hands on their own. “But there will come a time when you will not be able to remind people that you are free. You will not be able to say that you are a person, that you deserve the respect of a living sentient. Perhaps it will be a politician who treats everyone like that. Perhaps you will be captured by an enemy. Perhaps you will be undercover. You will not be able to fight, with words or with weapons, and you will have to know how to survive.”
Tatooine does not have peace. Tatooine only has survival.
And while Jedi fight for the survival and peace of the universe, they are refined and composed. Mando’ade fight like warriors of old, and Tatooine slaves fight like cornered, rabid anooba.
The galaxy comes first, but when the chips are down and the Sith come out to play, Soka and Ben do not need refinement, because they know how to toss aside their pride and live.

Can't wait to see her in action, hoping she will have a alabasta rôle and développement in the future
Same! Alabasta was the arc where Tashigi shone the most in terms of having a prominent role and development as a Marine, so I hope this arc will be a milestone in her own character arc as well.
I'm referring to something like this:
Tumblr media
After Punk Hazard, she still needs a little push to finally challenge her beliefs in the higher powers she serves, and Vegapunk's island is definitely a fulcrum of the World Government's and the Marines' powers, where themes like Justice, ethics and morality are likely to be explored.
Let's cross our fingers that Oda will give her a significant role!

I am truly hoping Zeno was just joking but I truly don't have much hope for Dadrius anymore tbh. It will always be canon in my heart tho
I get what you mean but honestly I'm not sure it's worth worrying about yet for a few reasons
1. Zeno likes to troll (affectionate) the fandom a bit. He's done this before when asked "Who would Hunter go to Grom with" & he responded with multiple answers which included two of Hunter's most popular ships, he said his favorite bit of VAing was in "Thanks To Them" and prefaced it with saying his other favorite bits were "Hollow Mind" and "Eclipse Lake" and suggested we all brace ourselves for the scene (it ended up being the Luz calling Hunter family scene which was excellent & cathartic btw), etc. So while I said "I think we lost :(" I was partially joking bc I know Zeno likes to do this, but I was also a bit disappointed even if I know I really shouldn't be bc Camila is a top tier parent. I'm not actually committed that Noceda won, but I also can acknowledge that maybe it did/will & honestly it wouldn't be bad even if it wasn't what I staked my interest in yknow
2. Zeno already changed it again to "Heart of Flapjack", so I think since the special came out he's just having fun with what was revealed & is changing his name around accordingly
3. Zeno wouldn't actually spoil the series ending, none of the cast/crew would. They've been very careful about it in all the Post-Hoots, con questions, etc. If Hunter does explicitly become "Hunter Noceda" I'd say that's a sizeable spoiler for his arc given there was no specific sign of that happening in this special & the debate about who will adopt Hunter/what his last name will be is fairly common in the fandom. There are at least 4 different last names he gets tagged with, and while Camila has done so much for these kids, she & Hunter didn't have any singularly significant scenes together (in no way am I undermining Camila or how clearly important she is to Hunter tho) (& yes she did dive into the water for him but he wasn't conscious for that & she would've done it for any of the kids, so I'm talking more like. Her scene tucking Luz into bed kinda singularly significant, but obviously those kinda scenes would be focused on Luz)
4. Camila hasn't even officially adopted Vee or called her her daughter or even said "I love you", which I was definitely expecting when they parted during the ending & truthfully I was a bit disappointed by it not happening. I'm not saying Camila can't adopt multiple kids but given everything between Camila & Vee I'd say that's the more important dynamic, and it hasn't happened yet, if it will at all. That doesn't necessarily mean Hunter Noceda can't happen first but it'd be a weird decision
5. Like I said above Zeno expressed his favorite bit of VAing was the Luz Hunter family scene, so Zeno writing "Hunter Noceda" feels like a homage to that scene which was a milestone in his career (so completely independent of fandom discussion, which makes sense & he's entitled to). Zeno likes to troll a bit but he's also an actor building his career & has completely different experiences being in the show than we the fandom have watching it, so maybe he's making a statement of his preference, maybe he's spoiling, or more likely he's referencing his time with the show.
6. Because it was Zeno's favorite scene and given who was in it, it feels explicitly about Luz & Hunter being family -- not Camila at that moment, JUST Luz & Hunter. Luz doesn't go by Clawthorne but she's still undeniably a part of Eda & King's family, so Hunter "being a Noceda" doesn't automatically mean "Camila is his mom now", if any of that makes sense. Something something found family isn't so nuclear something
7. Even if we don't get Dadrius they've explicitly used precious minutes of screentime after the show got cut to build a dynamic between them where they both clearly have started to care a lot about the other, so he'll probably still have "mentor" or "gay uncle" status by the end if not "dad" -- not the same or what I wanted but I'll still take it. I've said it before but if the goal was to make Darius likeable all they had to do was reveal he was a rebel (which was gonna be revealed anyway), they didn't need to give Hunter another new dynamic when he already had so many and they didn't need to make Darius of all adults the first one to give a shit about Hunter esp considering he never did before.
8. Hunter can have multiple parents with different last names like Luz does, as a treat
TL;DR I don't think it's a declaration that Hunter Noceda is unarguably canon even if a lot of the fandom will & already have taken it as word of god. It might end up being so, but I think at this time Zeno is more expressing passion for a pivotal moment in his acting career & is just having fun.
Anyway here's how Dadrius can still win ---

Second Place ; Miya Osamu.
fandom | haikyuu!!
pairing | miya osamu x fem!reader
w.c | 2.2k
genre | fluff
warning(s) | slightly suggestive, implied sexual content
author's note | i've been wanting to write this for a while! so here it is <3 it's not beta read and I didn't use a lot of metaphorical filling so it's not that poetic but eh Idc bc ✨ self indulgence ✨
──────── ⋆⋅❉⋅⋆ ────────
Once upon a time, Miya Osamu swore that he would never settle for second place again— He was never going to let another Miya score first place while he stood in the shadows. The twins had split paths after graduation, stepping onto stages where they'd never have to compete against each other for the spotlight again.
... Okay, who was he kidding. He'd be compared to Atsumu for his whole life— It wasn't like a different career would change that. Besides, his aunts were way too bored to not spin up something about him and his brother during family gatherings.
"Atsumu's making more money, isn't he?"
Well duh, he was a professional volleyball player, of course he made more money— Osamu wanted to roll his eyes in front of his aunts to make sure they understood that he heard their hushed whispers— But then again, he was an adult now, and he knew better than to stoop that low.
The comforting grip you had on his wrist also helped.
Things did get slightly better for him, though.
"Atsumu, your brother's already married," Osamu overheard his second aunt say to his twin during his wedding reception, "When are you going to settle down?"
The grey-haired Miya couldn't help but have a grin on his face for the entire night. Granted, the fact there was a silver ring on your finger also helped. You were absolutely radiant that night, and Osamu couldn't have been happier to finally be able to introduce you as his spouse.
Osamu's marriage did tilt more pressure towards his twin's way, because not more than half a year later, Atsumu caved in and found a sweet little thing to share his life with. The setter had had a couple flings here and there in his earlier years— But none of them ever lasted that long, and Atsumu had never introduced them to his brother, which is how Osamu knew that his twin really cared about the girl when the golden-haired man visited Onigiri Miya with her hanging on his arms.
If he didn't have the decency to help his brother maintain a good image, Osamu would've straight-up snorted at how tense his twin was when he served onigiri up onto their table, the shop empty with the exception of one table. It was almost like Atsumu was seeking Osamu's approval— Which was hilarious enough without the fact that the setter was nervous about it.
At the end of the night, it was as if the weight of the world was lifted off Atsumu's shoulders. Kaoru— The name of Osamu's potential sister-in-law— Got along wonderfully with you, who kept the shy-but-bright woman entertained as Osamu dragged his twin into the kitchen to make fun of him.
"Oh, go easy on him," You elbowed him lightly as the two of you closed up the shop for the night, wiping down the tables and tucking the chairs in. "Atsumu genuinely cares about her, he's making an effort!"
Osamu let out the snort he had held in for most of the evening. "I wouldn't be his brother if I didn't make fun of him."
"Boys." You muttered, just loud enough for him to hear. You had been around to catch the tail-end of some of Atsumu's previous relationships, so you could tell that Kaoru was different; In a way, Atsumu looked at her the same way Osamu eyed a nice piece of mackerel in the grocery shop.
"I heard that! C'mere," Osamu grinned, tackling you from the back. A smile burst across his lips when a giggle erupted from your lips, a cloth rag smacking him in the face when you tried to wriggle away from his hold. "You aren't getting away, pumpkin. Save your energy for later."
He wriggled his eyebrows suggestively, yelping when he was smacked with the rag again.
"There won't be a later if you keep that up." You warned, laughing when horror instantly swept over his expression. His protests echoed in your ears as you thought about how this marriage was something you'd never regret. Yes, it was rough because his business took off on a rocky road, but you knew there was no gain without pain, so you hung on and saw him through to the fruits of his labour.
──────── ⋆⋅❉⋅⋆ ────────
The next family meeting was graced with the presence of Kaoru, who, in turn, had been graced with your advice.
"Dress decently, do not wear black," You had warned her the night before on the phone, grimacing at the memory of your first Miya family dinner. No one had aunts more judgemental than the Miya twins. "I would suggest going with a dress. Oh, and it might help to bring a gift. A bottle of Ginseng Wine might be a good idea."
"We're here," Osamu parked the car outside the family home, subconsciously wincing at the sight of his aunts' vehicles. "... Ah. They’re here."
"I see they turned up early," You grimaced, "Atsumu and Kaoru-chan are going to have a brilliant night."
"Yup." Your husband grinned slightly at that, earning a smack for smiling at his brother's suffering. "Oh, he'll be fine. We'll mention that when Atsumu really needs saving." The wink he sent your way made your stomach butterflies flutter, but the warm touch of his fingers on your hand made them settle. "We'll be fine," Osamu's eyes softened as he met yours, reassuring you. "You've got me, remember? Worst case scenario, we'll just high-tail out of there and say we need to work tomorrow."
"Right," You released a breath of relief, interlocking your fingers with his. "Ready?"
"To see Atsumu suffer?" Osamu quipped. "Hell yeah."
And suffer did Atsumu. Kaoru wasn’t spared (of course she wasn’t—) and was judged from head-to-toe by the Miya's critical aunts. From the way they were eyeing her, you'd think they were the judges of Miss Universe instead of potential aunt-in-laws. Despite that, Kaoru braved the storm and stood strong through the whole night, her resilience shining with her determination to be with the other Miya twin— Osamu nodded his approval at that.
After dinner, the family gathered in the living room, with the elderly seated on the cushioned couches while the twins were squashed together on a bean bag (that you had to convince them to share, because apparently they were adamant about pushing the other off of it). Kaoru and you managed to snag a small corner of a couch, stifling your laughter at the sour faces of your respective significant others.
"So, Kaoru-san," Four heads collectively flinched when the aunt opened her mouth, "What's your job? Yearly salary?"
"Um, I'm... I'm a newspaper editor," Kaoru fidgeted with the strap of her bag while you resisted the urge to snap at her to look as confident as she could if she didn't want the interrogation to go on for the rest of the night. A shy, nervous thing like her would only make the predator's lick their lips at the sight of easy prey.
"Oh! That makes sense," The woman sneered, Osamu's mother not-so-discreetly turning up the volume of the television in hopes that the conversation would be drowned out. "You definitely dress with the salary of an editor."
Offence flashed across Atsumu's face like lightning, but before he could start a fight to defend his girlfriend's honour, Osamu dragged his brother back onto the bean bag and stood up.
"Excuse me, everyone," Osamu put on his practiced customer-service smile flawlessly, capturing everyone's attention instantly. "Y/N and I have an announcement to make." His eyes met yours, and you nodded, a smile waltzing across your lips.
"Mother, father," You begin, addressing your in-laws like you addressed your own parents. Encouragement swirled in your blood as Osamu interlocked your hands and squeezed your fingers. "You're going to be grandparents."
It took a while for the news to kick in.
"Oh, that's wonderful!" Osamu's mother cried out, rushing to envelop you in a hug that you gracefully accepted. "Do you know the gender yet?"
"Of course not, mother." Osamu rolled his eyes good-naturedly. "We're not that far along yet."
"That's amazing! Congratulations!" Kaoru beamed brightly, not having picked up on Osamu's timely intervention.
"Thank you." You replied warmly.
"Well then, are you going to stop working?" The first aunt shot at you, smirking, coy as ever. She knew that you weren't the type to drop your job just because of an incoming child.
"Of course not." You replied easily, "What kind of spouse would I be if I couldn't help carry the financial burdens with my husband?"
She shut her trap instantly, huffing in fury. Osamu had never looked prouder.
The family rejoiced for a little longer, and from the tip of your ears, you heard Osamu gloating slightly about having reached another milestone earlier than his brother.
"I love you," Your husband murmured into the crook of your neck as the two of you cuddled in the warmth of your bed, too far for his aunts' sharp words to hurt you. "And our little boy in there.”
“How do you know it’s a boy?”
“... Father’s instinct.”
Months flew by in a blur, and so did doctor appointments, Sunday shopping trips with Kaoru as you left Atsumu to help Osamu in the restaurant. The pair would drive the half-an-hour trip from Osaka to Hyogo every weekend. This arrangement elicited a couple silly arguments between the twins, of course, but once you taught Kaoru the stern look that would make the two settle like guilty puppies with their tails between their legs— Those arguments became simple matters to handle.
“Have you thought of names yet?” Kaoru asked you while the two of you sipped on coffee.
“I have a couple in mind,” You smiled. “Osamu won’t stop going on about how he was right. The baby’s a boy.”
“Boys will be boys,” Kaoru rolled her eyes. Then, her expression changed to a wistful one. “This might sound odd, but… I just find myself thinking, sometimes… One day, I want what you and Osamu have.”
“... A happy marriage?” You raised an eyebrow, “Honey, you’re already on your way to one. Atsumu looks at you the same way ‘Samu looks at a bowl of gyudon. Or the way I look at a bucket of mint ice cream with peanut butter…”
Kaoru made a concerned look. “The baby sure craves some odd things.”
“You’ll experience this one day.” You returned pointedly. “Logically, I never would’ve thought of eating mint chocolate ice cream with peanut butter slathered on… But cravings are cravings. And it was surprisingly nice.”

After nine long months of waiting, Miya Tomohito was welcomed to the world. Osamu cried (Atsumu made fun of him for it before getting smacked by Kaoru— She was learning a lot from you). Both yours and Osamu’s parents wouldn’t stop gawking at your baby boy, with his little tuff of dark hair, his tightly-fisted hands and the slight cherry-red flush of his cheeks. You never thought you’d fall in love at first sight— But your son was living proof that you were wrong. From the first moment you held him in your arms, you had already given a piece of your heart for him to hold in his tiny little hands.
It quickly became a regular sight for frequent customers of Onigiri Miya to see Osamu walking around the shop, a sleeping baby boy strapped to his back. The two were inseparable. Once, you walked in on your husband having a full conversation with Tomohito, who was sucking on a spoon.
“I’m thinking of adding a twist to my tuna onigiri recipe,” Osamu said, as if he were talking to an adult and not a three-month old baby. “Do you think adding a squeeze of lemon juice will make it taste better?”
“Gwa.” Tomohito replied intelligently.
“Great suggestion, Tomo.”
“Mmm.”
“I see. We could go to the grocery store later to get some tuna and try that recipe tonight.”
“Ba.”
“You’re a genius, Tomo.”
──────── ⋆⋅❉⋅⋆ ────────
“I can’t believe you.” Osamu looked helpless. “You’re not… You’re not seriously doing this to me.”
“I’m completely serious.” You said firmly, having put your foot down with no room for argument.
“You’re really choosing him over me?” Your husband’s jaw dropped when you nodded solemnly. “I’m your husband!”
“And he’s my son.” You shot back instantly.
“You’re kicking me out of our bed for our son?”
“He’s sick!” You refuted. “I need him to be as close as possible to me. His fever hasn’t gone down completely yet and I can’t let him go back into his cot tonight. Besides, you might get sick if we all sleep in the same bed. Who’ll take care of the shop then?”
Osamu drooped visibly. He couldn’t believe what was happening— He had lost to a Miya once again— Now his son instead of his brother. “Fine.” He mumbled sadly. “Make your poor husband sleep on the couch.”
“It’s only for one night, ‘Samu.”
──────── ⋆⋅❉⋅⋆ ────────
Tomohito's name is written as 智仁. '智' means intelligence and '仁' means compassionate. I have a friend named Tomohito.
Also, when I was writing this I reminded myself to make sure I made the reader gender-neutral. That is, until I realised that I made the reader pregnant. I am an idiot.
