eh, I get having a project and losing motivation to finish it. there's so many instances of that, and I got a shit ton of projects I never finished because of the lack of motivation or art/writer's block

there's really no problem with not finishing a game or taking years to do so. it's not an easy task in any way

BUT I do think you should be able to be annoyed at how long a game is taking to come out, you can be impatient, it's fine! I hate waiting a year for another season of Rick and Morty (and the next season's only coming out next year due to grinding too hard or something), and though I do complain about the wait, I can recognize that it's not an easy thing to do — ESPECIALLY when it's an indie show

indie games will take a long time to make, and that is perfectly fine. I'm impatient but am fine waiting years for a good game. I'm pretty sure the main reason why people are verbally impatient with the development of Your Boyfriend, is because the creators have no idea who Yb is and continuously change his character's lore for some reason. not only that but they're just TERRIBLE people

Okay, quick question:

Why does Legend have violet/purple eyes in your Stories? Like idk it’s my hc now too because I’ve read it so often but where does it come from?

Oh boy, I know I've answered this one a few times, but I don't blame anyone for asking again LOL

It was sort of impulse? Mostly? I remember when I was writing my first fic, I actually sat down and tried to decide what color eyes everyone would have, because eyes are incredibly important to me in my art, be it writing or sketches, and a character always feels incomplete until I can visualize them somehow while working with them.

Anyways, I don't know precisely why I chose violet for Legend, maybe because I have this character (Thane) who I wrote with violet eyes and I thought it would be a fun trait to give to someone, and so I gave it to a random Link who wasn't my current favorite (at that time, I was a huge Wild stan). It became really key to me though because, thematically, it suits him; it plays with various sorts of imagery and symbolism that make my fangirl heart scream in joy!

His eyes are the color of Fi's hilt, while Sky's are the color of her blade. His eyes are the color of a night sky, the place where stars stay, a place of peace in darkness. In my mind, I can see Hyrule as a kingdom regarding their royal family like the sun; a brightness and light that brings life. But Legend, the hero, is the light in the darkness, a star himself, who reminds them that there's hope even when the sun can't be seen. And, well, the sun is just the star closest to us, so he's a sun himself, in a way, just a distant one :)

Additionally, this works as a nice contrast to Ravio! Where Ravio has green eyes, black hair, and wears purple, Legend in my HC would have purple eyes, golden hair, and wear green, so they appear more as a reversed version of each other, just as Fable's blue eyes are a reverse to Hilda's red. (Which also means that, between the four of them, they have red, blue, green and violet! Kind of like Four!)

I also just like how it breaks up the sea of blue eyed boys. like, Hyrule is hazel to me, and Four has grey that change depending on his mood/mentality, and Wind is a ocean blue so they're almost green at times, but Legend's the only one with purple. Which means that he himself also has a blue, green, red, and purple color scheme, between his clothes and his eyes, which, in my early fics, made for another fun similarity to Four (I like tying them together, thematically)

Last of all? It's just pretty. Like, our boy changes his hair all the time, like a girl changes clothes (if you will), but purple eyes? Those go with anything! The black he had during OoX, the red, green, blue (whichever you like, or all if you prefer) of TFH, the typical blonde, or even his traditional pink! they soften his appearance some as well and give him a unique look and feature amid a sea of look-alike-links!

So yeah, there's a lot of "reasons" which mostly boil down to the fact that I thought it'd be fun and then I made it important because It Just Worked

And it's stuck with me! and some other writers have even started doing it too! Granted, I see a lot of brown eyed Legend, green eyed, and of course, the traditional blue, but it makes me smile when I see Violet in anyone's work, because while I'm not saying I've definitely impacted the perception of him by the fandom, I am saying it's nice to think of it like I have, and imagine that in some way, I got to be part of crafting a really cool character, even if it's just through a color contribution :)

when you're back from your break, it'd be really cool if you wrote headcanons about Dean raising Sam :) I feel like the fandom forgets that Dean is basically his dad sometimes and I think it'd be interesting to see how Dean acted like a dad at such a young age 😌 things he did, ways he protected Sam, idk, stuff like that :3

‧˚₊⋅ ──── faith’s tell-all. to everyone who’s ever shown my writing love / support, thank you to the stars and back— it means everything and more. also, i’ll be leaving again, perhaps for good. all i’m gonna say is that my thoughts / emotions aren’t doing good at all right now, and this app is the cause of it (for the first time ever). obviously, i don’t like feeling this way, and i certainly don’t want it to reflect in my writing / my actions on this app, so i’m probably gonna dip. i don’t really like talking about my feelings (in general, but especially on here) or asking for pity, so i’m not going to bother y’all with that. anyways enjoy this one, hopefully see ya soon <3

> “protect sammy,” was the only thing dean remembers from his younger days for the most part. only thing he knew. i could delve into the absolute nitty gritty, the abuse, the hardships, the burdens that both sam and dean endured, but if i think too hard about it, i get mad— because no child should have to raise another child. ever.

let me be very clear on that, and this: most of the family dynamics in supernatural are not healthy by any means— but they are a reality for many, which is one of the reasons why people resonate with the show.

> now, throughout the show, we can see that dean is potrayed as somewhat of a father figure / guardian type— from regular children to monster children, to ben, jack, claire, kevin, etc. maybe more of a ‘fun uncle’ type situation, since he’s told kids (and thus, the audience) time and time again that he is not someone to look up to, or to become. which is a double edged sword.

because on the one hand, dean has a point: he’s self-deprecating, an alcoholic, has a temper, treats people like shit, and makes rash decisions that usually end in violence or a shattered bond.

but don’t think that’s everything. dean’s self-deprecating because that’s all he knows. and how the hell else would he treat himself? he’s an alcoholic because everyone that was around him drank when he was a kid— and the father figures in his life didn’t promote sobriety at all. he has a temper because when he can’t control things, that means he can’t control the outcome. he doesn’t know what’s gonna happen, and that’s why he gets so angry all the time. he treats people like shit, mostly because the ones he does treat like scum usually deserve it. the rest are because of his big stupid mouth. the rash decisions come from a place of pure panic, fear, and worry about his family— instilled in him since the night his house went up in flames.

now, all this to say, dean is a good person, deep down. because we see all throughout the show that dean wants to be better, to stop being the way he is when emotions do eventually get the better of him, to stop the habits he’s created.

> and it’s no secret that dean winchester was forced to raise sam— yet i feel that it’s severely overlooked in the show itself. sure, we do see flashbacks once in a while of a young dean taking care of a young sam, but people (including myself) brush over the fact that this was pretty much every day for dean. weeks, months, years, a decade? taking care of his brother, always before himself. let’s dive into my mind of what i think happened:

> dean stole for him and sam. obviously, yes, we all know this, since it’s canon from the show— but that was dean’s ever first crime: shoplifting / petty theft. the cop let him go, though, until one of the next towns a few months later when dean got too cocky with the cashier and smartmouthed the deputy. that landed him in a holding cell.

> dean also protected sam at school. and yes, once again, this is shown in the show, but dean was a grade-a menace when it came to his brother. shit talk dean all you want, call him anything you please, but if his brother was brought up? he blew a gasket, and the dude’s lights out. every time.

> dean did all the talking (and still does, sometimes). anywhere he and sam went alone in his younger years, dean’s mouth was the only one that was moving. diners, motel lobbies, libraries, restaurants, dive bars, pubs, you name it. sam was too nice to talk to strangers— and dean learned early on that strangers aren’t doing something ‘just to be nice’. ever.

dean’s mistrusting, down to his last nerve ending— but if his dad’s with them, he can relax. otherwise, it’s eyes everywhere, making sure they won’t be messed with.

> dean made the most of everything. we see this in the christmas episode (the flashback to their younger selves) and the fireworks memory in dean’s heaven. his main priority, if not to protect sam, was to cheer him up. keep him happy. maybe not distracted— but to take his mind off of the real world. we all do it, dean just made it easier for his brother to do so.

but sam wasn’t totally clueless, obviously— he’s smart. maybe an idiot sometimes, but not outright dumb. he knew there were things that dean and john didn’t tell him, but he didn’t press when he was younger—because sometimes, being oblivious to things was kinda nice.

this changed as sam got older, as we know. sam noped his way out of there the second he got a chance. and while dean was mad that he left— he was happy for him, too. because sam did it. he got out.

> dean definitely is / was a ‘do as i say, not as i do’ type when it came to sam (and pretty much everyone else too). dean was a bad influence, yes, but he never let sam just do whatever he did. back then, dean drank, smoked, the whole nine yards to fit in, be cool, whatever— but best believe if sam wanted to try any of that, dean shut down that idea immediately.

> that sums up most of dean’s side, though. because sam was the one who was too good, too nice, too soft— and dean wanted him to stay that way. because he wanted sam to have a normal freakin’ life (cue that speech dean gave sam in like… season 5?), to have a family. dean didn’t think he could have, or deserve that. besides, who the hell would take him?

HOT YYH TAKE: Kurama would be awkward AF in a romance!

i often see Kurama/Shuichi Minamino characterized as very smooth, calm and collected...and he IS in most situations!

but after his human rebirth, i headcanon he mostly swears off romantic or sexual attachments...he doesn't want a repeat of the Maya fiasco and he doesn't want an SO to leak details about his past to his mother, so it's just simpler to remain unattached

and that means he is either 1) very out of practice when it comes to romance, or 2) inexperienced in the human version of romance

...or both! both is good!

once Kurama finds himself interested in someone romantically, it'll take him a minute (or twelveo) to reorient himself and figure out how all this romantic crap works...he may not even realize he's interested in them romantically or be able to recognize his own desires right away, and thus i think he'd be AWKARD AF until he really sits down to self-reflect and it'd be a huge shock to realize he's actually interested in someone(!?!?!???) after all this time

it would take him a hot minute to carefully (carefully OH SO CAREFULLY) figure out what to do, decide if he should pursue them or just ignore his feelings, and determine how to handle his emotions...he wouldn't want to fuck it up you see...and if his potential lover is a human, it'll take even more strategizing and reflecting to figure out how the heck a romance with a human would actually work in practice

he's smart and he'd get the hang of it quickly, but in the early stages i'm pretty convinced he'd come off as the strangest fucking dude on the goddamn planet...he won't become a stammering mess or anything like that (he's too cool-headed overall), but his behavior and body language would be hot-and-cold and just plain WEIRD for a bit until he figures his shit out...you may even think he hates you a little before the truth comes out!

i love the "Kurama is a perfect, smooth-talking gentleman at all times" characterization we usually fall back on as a fandom, but i think some endearing awkwardness when it comes to love and romance really suit this guy <3

(incidentally, this is the characterization i'm working with in my Kurama/OC fic The Sight Unseen and it's SO MUCH FUN to write!)

Backstory: You have an indenture to Hoede and the Merchant Council - maybe you're a captured Grisha? - and Kaz decides to make you an offer.

If there was any justice in the world, Kaz Brekker would get what was coming to him.

He'd heard it many times before, spat at him in fury by outwitted merchants and marks, yelled out and pointed in his face by dirty workers who thought they could best Dirtyhands himself. And he'd give them his sharp, indifferent glance with eyes the shade of bitter coffee, and simply acknowledge their words in dry sardonic amusement, because they all knew how likely that was.

Nights in the Barrel like these, with the air spiked with damp and dirty pleasure, there was barely a difference from the dim, milky shine of the moon from the edges of a dagger. All faces were set in stone, guarded and weary and greedy, and the only boy to stand out subtly amongst them was the one who beat a steady, quick rhythm with a golden crow cane, tap tap tapping on the uneven grubby cobblestone as he marched down a dusky sidestreet.

He knew that the scheming gangs of Ketterdam led by anxious money-grabbing leaders and corrupt members of the Merchant Council would try to send someone out to keep tabs on him. It just so happened that it was you.

A new face to the dirty streets of the Barrel, admittedly a pretty one, who somehow looked completely out of place but blended in perfectly amongst the other innocent thrill-seeking tourists of the town, big eyes and a sweet smile, that made Kaz himself falter for a moment, his eyes lingering on you in a sceptical, bemused hint of interest.

"Here's your choices," were the boy's first words to you, eyes cool and barely blinking, one dark brow raised ever so slightly in keen, languid awareness.

He had led you straight to the Crow Club, a place teeming with pigeons looking for a quick win over cards - where you'd seen a tall young Zemini man with a cheeky grin and curious eyes open his mouth to chat you up, before Kaz had shot him a glare colder than ice - the faint metallic scent of kruge and alcohol in the air as he strode purposefully up to his office with you following behind in bemusement.

The noises of gamblers jeering and coins clattering and tinkering fell into a muffled hum when Kaz pushed the door to a close behind you, limping behind his desk and fixing you with that cold, unwavering look. He couldn't have been older than seventeen, with brown locks slicked back in one short swoop, a jutting chin and a watchful glare that gave nothing away. But at that moment, those eyes seemed to bore straight into yours, reading you inside out, analysing and directing you in unbridled, uncaring curiosity.

"I know you're working for Hoede. Don't give me that look. No one sold you out, if that's what you're worrying about. But I know."

You had blinked, blankly, gazing back at him in pure wonder and confusion, trying to get beyond that face of stoicism and detachment, one that could very well be a mask, if he hadn't worn it every second Dirtyhands gained his infamous reputation. He was simply what the city made him. He was Kaz Brekker.

"Know?" You'd repeated after a lingering moment of uncertainty, your eyes flitting his unchanging expression. "Hoede?"

Kaz had almost smiled then, a small amused flicker at the corner of his lips, a pull of a slight smirk that had given up before it'd started.

"I haven't figured that part out just yet," he continued dryly. "That pretty innocence. Big eyes, soft words and sweet smiles. Either you're incredibly naïve or an incredibly impressive actor. Still, I'll take the puzzle."

"The puzzle?"

"I love puzzles. Trickery is just my native tongue."

You'd blinked again, the blankness morphing to growing bewildered curiosity and slight doubtfulness. "Are you going to turn me in?"

"To who?" Kaz questioned in an unimpressed drawl, his brow raising further with a soft scoff. "The stadwatch?"

Maybe not.

"Kill me?" You tried again uneasily, your gaze intently following his movements and plain expression for any pointers or hints. You dared not to take a fleeting glance to any windows or possibly cracks to dart to and make a quick escape - this was Brekker's turf now, streets he knew like the back of his hand, and had a whole gang working for him in the palm of his hand to boot.

"An idea," he acknowledged plainly, not a flicker of unease written in his features as he mused aloud, nodding slightly to himself. "A neat one, at that. There are plenty of places a pretty young thing could go missing in these parts, and as new as you are, I doubt anyone would be eager to go tracking down your name with dogs and blazing torches."

You thought better to respond to his words, biting the inside of your lip gently and shifting where you stood by his desk uncomfortably instead.

"How much is your indenture?"

You'd hesitated for another long moment at his question, that same uncertainty rising up in your gut again. Kaz caught on before you'd even felt it, and shrugged with a light huff, sitting down behind his desk heavily.

"I'll pay it off," he stated bluntly, shark's eyes meeting yours again. "All of it. Every penny. Consider it my deposit."

The air left your lungs at his words in a hot rush of awe and confusion. I'll pay it off. Every penny. You could be free of the Merchant Council's tight grip, of being a possession of Councilman Hoede's, and go back home-

Deposit.

"Deposit for what?" You asked after the realisation of his words dawned on you, a small frown tugging at your brows in mild apprehension.

"I need a face like yours," Kaz responded easily, staring up at you in scrutinising interest, "a pretty, clean new face, to go cast the line for my marks, and reel them in. You're unsuspecting, you know that already. A sweet, pretty thing."

He'd said pretty three times now.

"Fahey will show you the ropes," he continued simply, his attention wandering now he knew he'd caught yours. "I'll make you a Crow yet. I can't think of a better investment. Can you?"

There were a million answers you may well have wanted to give him in argument, but you couldn't. You just couldn't. It was either a new chapter with these Crows and their Bastard of the Barrel, or skulking back to Hoede with your tail between his legs, and double the interest on your indenture once he'd known you'd failed in being his little lapdog, sniffing for clues about the dirtiest dealers in the dark corners of Ketterdam.

"There's a spare room just behind the ladder to the attic," Kaz answered for you in his rocksalt rasp, leaning back in his chair as he rested his golden cane to stand against his desk, the little crow's beak pointing down at the sleek hardwood surface. "Don't bother getting any things you had before at whatever lodgings Hoede directed you to, you won't be going back. You'll get new gear, maybe a new name. Just don't change that face. Or that mind. I'll need it for what comes next."

I love tsiyw but I'm not gonna lie, sometimes I feel kinda bad. Everyone else is out here really excited and looking forward to seeing nico and thalia interact with panem and the hunger games (and just as excited to see panem react to nico and thalia + react to them being demigods and the Greek myth world) and im out here so very invested in the panem and hunger games side of the story (and percy's part in it) that I literally constantly forget that nico and thalia are even a part of this fic and on their way to thg world

Because I love your writing and fic so much, when I do remember them, I'm intrigued and looking foerward to see how you'll integrate them into the story, but (and this is also thanks to my percy-biased heart) I just don't have the same enthusiasm for nico and thalia to arrive and be a part of the story, as everyone else seems to do, and i feel kinda bad for that. Like my brain and heart is out here pretending this is a only-percy-appears-from-the-pjo-universe fic and then i see someone else on your tumblr mention nico and/or thalia and im like "oh yeah, forgot that, they're here too," like this is all news to me when I've been reading this fic for a while now

I also love it in crossovers when things remain a mystery and an enigma so I just can't imagine the whole Greek myth world and them being demigods just being showcased and told to the whole of panem. I can't even imagine them telling only the revolution even if it'd be to give them more pieces to work with. And also like, if percy is going to ascend to godhood, then how would knowledge of the Greek myths and him being a son of poseidon add up to that? Like. Percy ascending to godhood through people's beliefs is more to do with his own power and people's perception of him, than him being a demigod. If people latch onto him just being a demigod then wouldn't there be a risk of people's beliefs stopping at that rather than seeing him as something more that then throws him into the path of ascending? Ascension needs belief and faith, and those things could be affected and impacted in wrong ways if there's too much knowledge about him into the mix. Like the less mystery and enigma-like percy seems, the more people's beliefs in him being more is halted

But I am very intrigued to find out what you'll do with nico and thalia once they show up and I hope you'll prove my percy-biased heart wrong and that they'll be cool to see in panem

Well the Percy Jackson fandom is significantly larger/more active than the Hunger Games fandom, so that's probably why so many people are excited for more pjo characters to show up! Also, I've had Percy & Nico & Thalia tagged since the first chapter of this fic, so I can't blame people for being excited for them to finally show up 😅

With that being said, a vast majority of this fic IS only-Percy-in-Panem (we're 140k+ words in and Nico and Thalia still haven't shown up), so don't worry too much :)

hey, little more about us:

How did you come up with the idea for I'm Gonna Make This Place Your Home? What was the process like?

So the initial idea of "What if Barb adopted Branch" was a random idea I got after I got deeper into the fandom. I came into the fandom thanks to the third movie showing up on my TikTok feed and did a deep dive into the other movies and media and fell in love with the second movie and the different tribes. I love fun villains and Barb was really fun. I don't know why I thought she'd be the perfect big sister for Branch, I think I was trying to combine a fix it AU with my favorite character.

After I had the initial idea of Barb adopts Branch, I ran to AO3 and couldn't really find anything that fit what I was looking for. There really weren't any fics that had Branch being adopted by anyone other than the bros.

I sat on it for a day or so and went "What the heck, what if I just wrote a lil bit of how I thought that would go?" and wrote the first chapter. I had intended for it to stay private and it'd be something I'd tinker around with randomly but after writing it I went "What if I put this out there?"

I sat on it for a day or so and went "Oh alright, I'll post this." and put it up on AO3 on anonymous. I started getting comments and I decided to put out the Poppy intermission. I was getting a lot of good reception on a fic I thought would get a max of 7 kudos so I decided to try and put out a few more chapters.

When I was working on the third chapter or so, I stopped and went "Okay, I guess I'm doing this. I need an actual plan."

I sat down and opened up a word document and just started typing vague plans for the fic. I decided when and how Branch would get his colors back, what would happen with the movies and a few other milestones I wanted in the fic, like the one year anniversary. I cannot stress how vague the initial plan was.

As I started putting out the next few chapters, I began to plan more thoroughly. I went over how I wanted characters to get introduced, scenes I'd like to write and the lore of the world. I have a very messy notepad of just random bits and pieces. Some chapters were just made up on the spot, some I put a little more thought into. The more I wrote, the more I started to figure out the scenes I did and didn't want in the fic.

I still have things very vague. Right now I couldn't tell you when we'll get to the first movie except that it's looking like chapter 80+ now. Some big events I also still have no plan for, while others have a vague concept and "wing it" underlined in red. I kind of let the characters lead the way a bit, which is how Billy became so relevant and how Dickory got introduced. The original outline had 0 Dickory and that's a shame.

A lot of the ideas I get come to me from very vague ideas that I think would make a cute chapter or I think are needed. Branch's hang out day with Barb for example, I knew I wanted Branch to try to hang out with Barb in a special way, and I sat down and tossed around some fun ideas for the two to do. Branch almost did bumper cars instead of laser tag, which would've been a shame because laser tag is his THING!

Some chapters are made because I want to share lore or world building. Branch's school for example, I thought it would be fun to show off what Rock School is like, as well as show how Branch would react to that environment. The New Years chapter as well, I had random world building ideas and wanted to show them off.

Sometimes I have ideas that just don't make the cut, and I have to consider what makes for a good story. One of my initial drafts for Barb bringing Branch home included a song, but I looked at it and went "Branch asked her not to sing, and I think Barb respects that. Barb wouldn't do this, I just wanted to see it." Some scenes are cool but make the fic a little clunky. I save them in a word doc just in case, and so I can look at them later.

A lot of ideas I get by turning on music and just daydreaming about the characters and letting my mind wander.

I think one of the most helpful things to my writing is experiences. The arcade chapters I drew from a trip I took to an arcade, and if I'd never went, I might not have come up with the idea of having Branch go to an arcade. Not every chapter is an experience I've had, I've never gone to a haunted house, but I did get scared at a house I went to on halloween as a kid and I ran outta there so fast.

I think for me there's a middle ground of planning. If I had no plan for the ending, I think I would have gotten demotivated and quit writing. If I planned everything too much, I think I'd get frustrated with it as I came up with new and better ideas that there were no room for. Right now there's still a lot of wiggle room for changes in the fic.

Okay so, I was going to draw some- very fruity Laserblast art ngl, but this ask hit me enough I sat down, and opened my laptop to write a real response. I've also got the series on in the background. I started episode 1 when I began typing, and we'll see how far I am in the series before I finish typing it.

First of all, I love using au to refer to real life, honestly better than various timelines. And secondly

Absolutely. Every day of my life. Every time I draw one of the characters, or see fanart, or hear the VAs or- anything. Because- I'm insanely hyperfixated on this show. A disgusting amount, unhealthily. It's not normal lol.

And I do constantly think about what could have been, I mean, after all once again my favorite character is Laserblast of all things. Not Venomous, Laserblast. The version of that man that has like five minutes of screen time and no canon first name. So much so that when on the Saberspark Q&A when he came up in a question for quote "Me and the three other Laserblast fans" I cheered out loud, alone, in my apartment. I would have killed to not have to pull at removing his mask myself and Ian's one tweet calling him a himbo to show people characterization.

And honestly the wiki makes it all worse, in a loving way. What do you mean we were going to get multiple sitcom comfy style episodes where K.O. spends the weekend with his dad? I could've had more proof that Venomous isn't an abusive dad, just an unskilled and undisciplined one? I COULD'VE HAD AN EASIER TIME SEPERATING HIM AND SHADOWY TO OTHERS?!

And sure, I constantly wish that somehow someway I'll wake up and Ian will have announced the movie, the Hue Troop spin off, post finale storylines, the works.

But, on the other hand, here's why I'm grateful for what we did end up getting (this will probably be the longer section, sorrey)

tldwr (Too long don't wanna read): Cartoon Network is dead and pathetic and I don't wish that suffering upon this wonderful show.

So, something you guys can also notice from Ian's posts and the wiki, and just from what the cartoon industry is like in general, that getting what you want out of your series, storyline and representation wise and all that is actually pulling teeth.

For an example of later episodes, things like a seemingly Radmond episode getting changed to rad and mikayla. Or Voxman having to be pretty heavily censored (although I'm proud of the subtext they managed so heavily) which is partially because, and this isn't to take away from wlw rep and how hard it is to get on air, but is more difficult to get outright mlm representation simply because- it's harder to censor.

After all, it's much easier to pull a "they're just close friends!" Thing for two fem presenting characters, than it is for two masc ones. It sucks and they shouldn't have to be censored across different countries at all, but it's just- how it is.

Which is why, realistically, as cool as the movie centering around a voxman wedding would be incredible, I don't think it would've made it past S&P. Not to mention, even if it somehow did, It'd either suffer the fate of being a TV movie, getting limited as hell views, OR best worst case scenario, a box office release which would get hate bombed by people for it's- everything. Because people suck. I mean, even not counting homophobic people there's a disturbingly high chunk of this fandom that hates Voxman- because... *checks wiki* Oh yeah, "Evil people not being perfect good guys = bad representation"

Also, cartoon network was- already starting to die by now, with less funding each year in the first place. Meaning we don't know if it getting that funding was even an option as time went on. And the idea of getting a longer season three, with the reveal being drawn out another season like they wanted, and then potentially never getting closure on- any of it? That's horrible even to think about.

Sure, the entirety of season 3 was rushed as hell. And I cry about all the missing stuff we'll probably never get, because well there's not even a cartoon network building to make this stuff in anymore, I'm glad that we have a finished storyline and understanding of where arcs would've gone to fill in things ourselves. I mean, getting to look into and imagine all the things we didn't get to see is much more fun than theorizing on an unfinished story.

So, yeah, I do wish that somehow, someway, we will get more someday. I'm at least glad we got a finished storyline and an ending that, while rushed, is still one of my favorites. I love let's fight to the end so much, I love how much I hate shadowy figure, and I love that I can be here making content for you guys!

Well look at that, it only took me seven episodes to write this whole thing, and I get to end this rant knowing Raymond was on screen. That's cool.

okay, so I've seen this sentiment floating around with Morro that there's nothing more to do with him or that his story is entirely done. I disagree and want to share my two cents, but first I want to clarify a couple things. A) he does not have to come back to be a good and worthwhile character and B) I do not think the current conclusion to his character is bad. His story as is, is a tragedy and that's meaningful and C) that I am not trusting unreliable leak sources or 'getting my hopes up'.

Anyways, to say there's nothing to be done with his character is completely wild, and in my opinion a take more formed from fandom negative association than anything based in canon. I think it links back to some people seeing him as irredeemable, or believing without question his 'you can only save those who want to be saved' line. I said it before, but that line doesn't hurt because it's true (you wouldn't believe that with any other characters, why just him?) Morro has a compelling story, and it ends on the note that he can change and right his wrongs (dotd). His conclusion in Possession is sad but good, and his ending in DOTD is at least okay, in my opinion. However, when a character shows clear ability to change and develop, how in the world does that not lend itself to being able to continue his story? He doesn't have to come back, but if he did, there's material to play with. Morro died willingly, in the end, in Possession. I don't understand this idea that it has to cathartic for everyone. What's the crime in someone saying they would be excited or happy to see him again? There's directions to take his story in, and it's not like he's ever going to be anything like a main or strong presence in the show if he ever did come back! Not even the original six ninja are that anymore!

I'm going out on a limb and saying all the people who say Morro shouldn't come back for reasons [x] [y] [z] are going to be the same people who dislike he takes that Harumi shouldn't come back in DR, right? Is it because people think she's irredeemable, or that her story is 'better left done' and it'd be 'bad writing' to bring her back? Be bad for Lloyd? That's what a lot of you sound like to me. Additionally, you're allowed to have your own opinions, obviously but it's getting frustrating to see posts asking people to be less mean about the idea of him coming back filled with tags that go 'and here's why I think he shouldn't come back--' or two mutuals of mine both express the sentiment of pulling back a little from the fandom because of the recent negativity towards Morro. To be honest, sometimes it feels like a lot of people just groan whenever he's mentioned at all (because of the aforementioned fandom negative association) which, that's obviously going to be discouraging and un-motivating for people who do post a lot about him! Anyways, point is, be nicer and also stop mischaracterizing him because it's cool now or whatever 👍

Okay, so I've been getting pretty weird about the Predator franchise lately, and something I've noticed with the fandom is that hardly anybody acknowledges the whole Yautja infared vision thing in fics. Ramble below:

I know the human experience with color is kind of important to how we visualize things, but I find it boring not to explore the worldbuilding implications of a species that sees purely in temperature.

Did you know that glass acts as a mirror when you point an infared camera at it?

I mean, they probably have special equipment that lets them see through windows and stuff, but still, it'd influence their perspective in so many interesting ways. Not only would it affect their aesthetic sensibilities (they have no sense of color, only temperature; how would that affect their art, their clothing, their very writing system? would they be able to read anything written or printed on paper? Are they even aware of the variety of colors and patterns their own species comes in?), but also how they'd interact with humans outside of a hunt.

I'm not going to lie, a solid chunk of Predator fics are oc-insert romance fiction, and I don't mind that at all, but I wish people would write their monster boyfriends with the cool bit of alien biology they canonically have.

I have a few questions where did you get these amazing ideas for your Zaundads stories? What is your inspiration? If you could change one thing in the Arcane series, what would it be? And do you accept story ideas from other people?

Hi there! Sorry for the late response, when I saw this it was past midnight where I live so I figured I wait till morning before responding as it'd be easier from laptop!

Since you had a few questions I suppose I'll go down the list in order! (also I realized this is gonna be kinda long wall of text, so I'll break it up with some of the art I've done with each fic):

Ideas/inspiration?

A lot of places pretty much, just like with any and all fandom/non fandom art and writing I do. If you want to know more specifically though, I can somewhat point to a few sources for each fic:

Wraiths of Zaun is basically me pondering a "What if" scenario, where they got a warning beforehand about how things were going to go wrong, and how they'd deal with that (+ wanting to connect it into bit of a multiverse thing, this'll make sense MUCH later in the fic lol)

(Now, I do feel like in hindsight I probably should've done Connol & Feli's deaths more akin to canon, as RN we haven't had a moment where Vander can consciously choose to do better. ATM he hasn't really needed to make that choice. (the incident with Pow-Pow and Vi doesn't count, as neither died) I DO have a way to still have this kind of narrative point, but that'd then happen much closer to the end of the fic.)

The Lightkeeper was a mixture of me seeing a really cool merSilco fanart (that I can't find anymore :C), me loving spooky settings and stories, and having watched Dredge playthrough recently. Also "Vander raised Viktor" concept is always fun.

As for why I chose to have Silco be the younger version, the current dynamic in the fic wouldn't have worked with old Silco as well & when I was debating which way to go, more people suggested young Silco.

(This fic has my favorite setting, given it allows me to do more worldbuilding, whereas the other 2 are canon divergence stories. It currently has the most art for that reason as well, bc Fishco is fun to draw! Though it is only my second favorite out of these fics, as.....)

........This one....THIS one. This one's my baby, my magnum opus, my absolute FAVORITE fic of all time. (slight exaggeration, but I REALLY love it rn lol)

Riftside Angel is largely inspired by my love for horror/thrillers/ mystery, my older original story writing, and one of my favorite horror game villains, that the antagonist of this fic is loosely inspired by. It's also special because usually I don't utilize horror as a theme for fanfics, but this particular idea was too good to pass up on.

(To reiterate as I feel people see "horror" and might assume its a bad ending - understandably mind you - the boys will be fine by the end, traumatized for life ofc, but that's basically just canon isn't it?)

(It was also slightly helped by two other fics on AO3 that I've listed at the beginning of the fic of course, though the inspo from them was for more specific details rather than the overarching story, which is more reworking of an ollld OG tale with setting changed from island to a mine, and with magic rather than sci fi themes.)

2. Arcane changes

I'm not really someone who's going to think of stuff like this unless the canon story REALLY drops the ball somehow. Arcane, while flawed by the end somewhat, did NOT fuck up for me that bad. (Basically I personally find the issues small enough that its on that "nothing's ever gonna be perfect" category)

.......Especially when comparing to the travesty of my previous fandom, where the ending was SO AWFUL it retroactively destroyed the entire story, basically making it feel like as if none of it mattered, might as well just erase the whole story from existence. That's how bad it was. Even if Arcane was worse, I'd still probably give it more grace because HOLY SHIT WAS THAT BADDDDD

3. Story ideas

Typically no majority of the time. I always feel like if I accept ideas from someone else, there's pressure to get them to match what that person might've wanted it to be, even if they give me free reign. At most I tend to just ask for opinions on some small story element choices (like with Silco's age in Lightkeeper) if I'm really stuck with it.

If I ever did accept those, I'd be more likely to do that with Jayvik because I find myself struggling coming up with ideas for that ship. Largely because its so popular and already has so much stories, I feel like I can't come up with something unique and different feeling enough that I'd want to write it.

............Even Then though, given I am averse to a LOT of common fanfic tropes, suggesting me ideas might prove kind of useless; I'd probably end up not accepting many of them due to me not caring for majority of the common tropes people would likely suggest lol
